Woke-ism is intentionally ambiguous. So when you describe it, that offends those who wish for its intentions to remain murky.

When was the last time you were called racist? When was the last time you actually cared about being called racist? Odds are you get called it quite often and care (or should care) about being called it very little.

That’s because lobbing accusations of racial bigotry at anyone who gets in their way is second nature for the left. So when people stopped taking these accusations seriously — realizing it is simply impossible for everything to be racist — the left began decrying “white supremacy,” semantically invoking Nazism.

When accusations of racism failed to coerce enough action, the left moved on to a pejorative with far worse aesthetics while maintaining the same message. Accusing people and institutions of “racism” had lost its utility due to rhetorical inflation, and the era of “systemic white supremacy” had begun.

According to some, the conservative movement and the American right writ large are experiencing a similar ongoing dilemma with the word “woke.” Many suggest the word has come to mean nothing due to right-wing over-saturation, while others insist it has taken on a far more nefarious tone.

Nevertheless, the question remains: Why has the word “woke” become so problematic?

Bad Faith

On Tuesday, Bethany Mandel, co-author of “Stolen Youth: How Radicals Are Erasing Innocence and Indoctrinating a Generation,” appeared on The Hill’s “Rising” to discuss leftism’s role in damaging American families.

During the discussion, Briahna Joy Gray, co-host of the “Bad Faith” podcast, inquired if Mandel would “mind defining ‘woke,’ ’cause it’s come up a couple [of] times, and I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page.” What followed was a brief moment of self-consciousness in which the author stumbled over her words before offering a generally accepted definition of the term.

Despite this, the moment was clipped, and the author was lambasted as both a bigot and buffoon across the web.

The whole point of this exercise was to humiliate someone offering a coherent definition of woke-ism that was insufficiently deferential to the whims of leftist ideologues. However, this attempt was unsuccessful.

What Is Woke?

Dragging Mandel through the digital public square did not result in the typical groveling struggle session that has come to be expected whenever people explain their opinions in public, but it did inspire many to inquire about the nature of the term “woke.”

The term started to increase in prevalence in the early-to-mid-2010s back when “Black Lives Matter” referred to a hashtag, not an organization, and when the hot-button social issue du jour was the legalization of homosexual marriage. Despite its original meaning, used in common parlance simply to refer to personal vigilance, “woke” quickly took on social and political meanings. Like how every other community uses specific language to signify in-group allegiance, “woke” was used to inculcate oneself among the broader cause of the burgeoning leftist cultural hegemony and, by extension, the Democrat Party.

But as the term became more and more associated with the party, it became less specifically connected with racial protest movements and more so a shibboleth for supporting the party platform — “stay woke,” the slogan went.

It is undeniable that woke-ism and the people who get protective of the identifying label “woke” have an influential presence on the political and cultural left. There was even a short-lived Hulu series titled “Woke” that chronicled a previously apolitical black cartoonist’s journey through the intersectional landscape of identity politics. And in 2018, “Saturday Night Live” poked fun at the concept of corporate fashion brands using woke-ism to market schlock to well-intentioned hipsters.

Woke-ism came to define a movement so insurgent among the institutionalized powers of the left that even its vanguards like former President Barack Obama and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, who undeniably had a role ushering it in, bemoaned its rancorous presence and how it distracts from the Democrat Party’s larger goals.

This was something the Democrats fully embraced until they could no longer fully control the semantics around it.

It’s a Good Bad Word

Woke-ism is simultaneously a persistent ideological framework and a general inclination — it depends on the person or institution in question at the time. But both rely upon a consistent smorgasbord of Marxian dialectics and ideological accouterment — gender theory, critical race theory, et al. — that seeks to usurp the ideals of the American founding and impose contemporary whims.

The word has become as commonplace among the current-day conservative movement as MAGA hats and “lock her up” chants were at 2016 Trump rallies. And this is, to be fair, totally warranted; what other slogany-sounding word really works as a catch-all for what leftism has become?

Sure, it would help if the right had a more tactical approach to diagnosing and labeling each and every radical change introduced to our society at breakneck speed, but that’s not how people work. The right can and should identify the unique threats of identitarian Marxism, managerialism, and contemporary Lysenkoism, but is labeling all of these things useful?

Using “woke” as a catch-all label for radical leftism is effective. That’s one of the major reasons why the left hates it. They lost complete control of the English language, and the word they used to indicate their radicalism to one another is being used to expose that radicalism to the rest of the world.

Woke-ism is an intentionally ambiguous framework that is meant to keep out interlopers and reward its advocates. Therefore, simply describing it as what it is, is anathema to those who wish for its intentions to remain ambiguous.

Simply saying “woke” works.

The Grammys’ Embrace of LGBT Politics and Satanism Isn’t Just Gross, It’s Boring

Sam Smith and Kim Petras perform "Unholy" at the Grammys
My boredom with Hollywood has officially become stronger than my disgust.

Hollywood’s not-so-secret LGBT agenda was on full display at the Grammys last night. From the eyesore that was Harry Styles’ “clowncore” jumpsuit; to Beyonce dedicating her win to her uncle and the “queer community” (of which she is not a part); to Kim Petras narcissistically crowning himself the first transgender “woman” to win in the Best Pop Duo/Group category, the only way viewers could escape the gay was if they turned off their TVs.

For those who powered through the ceremony, they would have also been subjected to the unsightly and openly satanic performance of “Unholy” by Petras and Sam Smith, who calls himself “nonbinary.” While Petras danced around in a cage surrounded by she-devils (or they-devils?), a latex and high heel-clad Smith led a group of witchy women in a dance clearly intended to mimic devil worship. That Madonna — a woman who looks less human and more diabolic than ever thanks to some gnarly plastic surgery — introduced the performance is fitting.

In her introduction, Madonna smugly alluded to the “controversy” that would soon occur on stage. Though the performance was certainly as depraved, tasteless, and oversexed as the lyrics to the sinful “Unholy” might call for, my main complaint is not that Smith, a gay man, and Petras, a man who purports to be a woman, were flaunting Satanism and anti-family values on live television.

My main complaint is just how boring, unoriginal, and self-congratulatory the performance was.

These days, full-fledged embrace of Satanism and sado-masochism is nothing new or out of the ordinary for Hollywood. Anything that was going to come after Lil Nas X’s “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” music video, featuring a lap dance with the devil, and accompanying Satan shoes would be hard to top. Even so, Hollywood’s pop and hip-hop darlings continue to seize on satanic imagery for their lyrics, performances, and promotional materials as often as they adopt new gender identities or advocate to normalize transgenderism.

But is it just me or is the shtick getting old?

When I watch a performance such as the one described above, I instinctively know that it was both made and not made for someone like me. The twisted minds behind the Grammys want to induce shock and outrage. They revel in any disgust they can produce in conservative and God-fearing viewers, myself included. In the way that this performance was crafted to provoke conservative, churchgoing Americans, it was actually tailor-made for me.

On the other hand, such a flagrant celebration of Satanism, adultery, and LGBT “values” could only gain such a thunderous round of applause at an event like the Grammys — an event filled with a populace so out-of-touch and enslaved to the LGBT agenda and its hatred of God and beauty that they wouldn’t know good art if it slapped them in the face, Will Smith style.

Petras and Smith’s performance, and Hollywood award ceremonies more broadly, are occasions meant to draw crude political lines. If you found the performance distasteful, you are a hateful bigot. If you thought that the performance was a brilliantly subversive triumph for two rich and famous members of the oppressed classes (gay and trans), then you are open-minded and on the right side of history.

So instead of taking the bait, instead of clutching our pearls and (rightfully) condemning the abominations on our TV screens, what if we just called out Hollywood for making bad and boring art?

If you can get past the hypersexed and satanic elements of today’s popular music, you will soon realize that the music itself is objectively bad. It’s boring, trite, and desperate, so embarrassingly eager to shock that it ends up talking about the same few topics (drugs, sex, money) in increasingly debased yet unimaginative and unintelligent ways.

Of course I felt disgusted seeing Sam Smith stuffed in latex like a sausage and singing about adultery. But in no way was I surprised that yet another pop singer thought it would be cool and edgy to promote Satanism. My boredom with Hollywood has officially become stronger than my disgust.

We should not dismiss the open embrace of Satanism and anti-family values in Hollywood. We should continue to denounce it. But in addition to clutching our pearls, we should use our outrage as fuel to create genuinely beautiful art. And I’m not talking about art as thinly veiled political manifestos. I’m talking about art that honors the human spirit and gets at what it means to be a creature made by God, called to partake in both the joy and suffering that comes along with being made in his image.

Dante, Michelangelo, C.S. Lewis — these artists created for the greater glory of God, and think about what wonderful feats they were able to accomplish. Feats that speak to all of humanity, not just the oppressed few.

The call for conservatives to make their own art has been strong and steady in recent years. Many have responded and are doing great work. But we need to ramp up our efforts because this much is clear: Hollywood is full of uncreative, boring clowns.

What will we leave behind for posterity?

The Left Unmasks Its Desire To Destroy Families — And The Nation — With Sexual Chaos

REPORTED BY: CARINA BENTON | APRIL 04, 2022

Hollywood

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis once again led the way in protecting parental rights in education last week when he signed into law a bill that prohibits age-inappropriate “classroom instruction” on “sexual orientation and gender identity” in kindergarten through third grade. The legislation also requires parental consent for any health care services offered at school, and school districts “may not prohibit or discourage parental notification of or involvement in critical decisions affecting a student’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being.”

Contrary to the fear-mongering, there is nothing controversial about this law. Yet it certainly does throw a spanner in the works for the radicals, neurotics, and degenerates in control of corporate America, the establishment media, and Hollywood, who are evidently on board with schools serving as platforms for perverts, predators, and groomers. The obscene obsession with hypersexualizing children that exploded about two years ago needs to be understood in the context of the left’s wider agenda to promote moral relativism and sexual deviance, a campaign they have been gaslighting Americans into accepting as “progressive.” Decades ago, Marxists ditched class warfare and economics in favor of sexual politics and culture as a vehicle for executing revolution. Ever since, they have been shrewdly redefining marriage, family, sexuality, and gender, to the point where “tolerance” and “diversity” now means foisting porn, perversion, and predators on our families. Those who won’t stand for it are cunningly condemned as bigots.

Although the tactics have changed, the underlying objective is no different from the philosophy of their ideological forebears in Communist hellholes like the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe: the fundamental transformation of society by co-opting and perverting the nuclear family, the most influential societal unit, and the bedrock of Judeo-Christian values.

A Nationwide Trend

Brainwashing school-aged children as young as five into becoming transgender-affirming disruptors of the nuclear family is not just a thing happening out west in crazy CaliforniaOregonColorado, and Washington State. In VirginiaMichigan, and Texas, parents have expressed disgust and outrage over sexually explicit materials in school libraries. In Connecticut, eighth graders were given a foul school assignment asking them to share their sexual desires in the form of pizza toppings. A couple in Florida accused their 12-year-old daughter’s elementary school of covertly coaching her in gender confusion, which they believe led to her suicide attempt.

After last year’s gubernatorial election in Virginia, Democrat Terry McAuliffe learned the hard way that parents don’t want this trash for their kids. It turns out white suburban women don’t take kindly to school boards covering up the brutal rape of a 14-year-old girl by a “gender-fluid” student. Then there’s the Wisconsin teacher who apparently used a link in her email signature block to redirect students to an LGBT resource site and sex toy shop, and the Missouri teacher charged with sending dozens of nude photos and videos of himself to students, including a girl under 15.

Against this stunning backdrop, the U.S. Senate is poised to confirm the catastrophic Biden administration’s Supreme Court nominee, a radical judge with a 25-year career history of leniency toward individuals convicted of possessing or distributing child pornography. The left-wing media was quick to normalize and defend this disturbing trend, while endeavoring to humanize the depraved pedophiles in question.

A recent op-ed in The Hill spelled out the horrific reality behind the euphemistic phrase “child pornography.” It is the recording of violent acts of torture committed against terrified, defenseless pre-pubescent children and even infants by adult men, and distributed for the sadistic pleasure of the sickos who consume it, perpetuating a fiendish and expanding industry.

The Shift to Cultural Marxism

From the classroom floor to the Senate floor, none of this is a coincidence. Over the course of the 20th century, cultural Marxists realized that the class warfare narrative was never going to lure enough Americans to achieve a fundamental transformation of this nation. Despite the Soviet Union directing and subsidizing communist infiltration of U.S. government agencies, trade and teachers’ unions, and even churches and seminaries beginning in the 1930s, classical Marxism proved a flop. The left’s tactical response was two-fold:

  • Firstly, in reimagining Marxism in terms of sex and culture, they used maneuver warfare to simply attack the hill from a more advantageous position.
  • Secondly, pushing the falsehood that the Red Scare was just a conspiracy of the early 1950s deluded Americans into thinking the communist threat was a hoax when, in truth, it never went away.

Meanwhile, whether the battleground is economics or culture, the greatest threat to the twisted Marxist ideology has always been the Christian family. Christians know, as St. Paul writes, that every family in heaven and on earth receives its true name, not from the state, or a party, or society, or some fanciful “village,” but from God the Father. Hence the repression of religious families, the laicization of schools, and the prohibition of religious education that began with the Bolsheviks. In the 1950s, under the Khrushchev regime, Nikolai Ilyachev, the chief ideologist for a reinvigorated antireligious propaganda blitz, summed it up well when he stated that “in Soviet society, a family is a cell of Communist education or a refuge of backward conceptions.” The left’s contempt for those who remain faithful to God’s commandments and the truth revealed by Christ has never changed.

With Your Eyes Clear, Stand Up and Fight

Resisting the soul-destroying lies being force-fed to innocent children means supporting candidates who fear God more than some punk journalist, and who are bold enough, DeSantis style, to stand up to the Marxist schemers waging this cultural revolution. The politically suicidal Republicans and moderate Democrats flirting with the idea of supporting a historically unpopular Biden administration’s pedo-lenient Supreme Court pick might want to simultaneously start researching their post-political career options.

Most importantly, we must return to Christ. He is the only remedy for the sickness and squalor rotting this country from within. So read the Bible, pray, catechize your children, go to church, and yank your kids out of the rainbow-parading, gender expansive-promoting indoctrination camps posing as schools.

Every communist who has ever haunted the earth understands that to control society, you must control the family. They ironically possess a deeper, albeit disordered, appreciation of the mustard seed principle than do many Christians. The nuclear family, the smallest societal unit, has the potential for the most profound cultural influence. As Pope Leo XIII explained, family life is “the cornerstone of all society and government.” It’s time to reinvigorate our Judeo-Christian heritage and start using the Marxists’ tactics against them.

Seconds After Being Shot by Alec Baldwin, Here’s What Halyna Hutchins Told Someone Nearby

Posted By C. Douglas Golden  November 2, 2021

Read more at https://www.westernjournal.com/seconds-shot-alec-baldwin-halyna-hutchins-told-someone-nearby/

They may not have been the first publication to publish such an opinion piece, but the first place I saw one — fittingly — was in the U.K. Guardian. The Guardian — a left-wing, British-favored rag written by the kind of Labour Party die hard that still doesn’t get what was so extreme about Jeremy Corbyn — published the piece Friday. Headline: “Rust shooting sparks fresh debate over gun violence on screen: Firearms remain commonplace in major blockbusters but industry figures say Hollywood is led by audience demand.”

Never mind that this “fresh debate” was mostly happening in the pages of the Guardian. The header image for the article was Keanu Reeves carrying what appears to be a silenced pistol in the 2014 movie “John Wick.”

This is important because, while I was unable to find reliable data on the first film, MovieWeb reported in 2019 that the eponymous character fired 302 shots in the second film, hitting his targets 242 times. Of these hits, 104 were head shots, with a further 90 hitting the target in the chest. One shot even hit someone in the foot.

There’s no count of shots fired by the baddies in “John Wick: Chapter 2,” but given that they appear to be intergalactic descendants of the Imperial Stormtroopers in the “Star Wars” universe — at least when it comes to a genetic predisposition to itchy trigger fingers and terrible eyesight — there were a lot of fake gunshots fired.

According to New Zealand’s NewsHub, through three movies, the fictional Mr. Wick has killed 299 people. Here is the number of people who have been killed in actuality on the set of those three movies: Zero.

Those who might be persuaded by the Guardian’s hot take on guns and cinema in the wake of the “Rust” tragedy, keep those numbers in mind. Keep in mind, too, the reported last words of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins seconds after being shot by Alec Baldwin during the filming of the Western in New Mexico last week.

A report in Sunday’s Los Angeles Times detailed the events of the day of the shooting, including what happened in the moments leading up to Hutchins’ mortal wounding. The Times reported that Baldwin “had been preparing to film a scene in which he, as a grizzled 1880s Kansas outlaw, becomes involved in a shootout in a church. He was just going through the motions, giving the camera crew a chance to line up their angles.”

Those on set say the final moments began as Baldwin put his hand on a holstered Colt .45 revolver, which was supposed to be loaded with a dummy round with no gunpowder. “I guess I’m gonna take this out, pull it, and go, ‘Bang!’” he said.

Baldwin had been assured the Colt .45 was a “cold gun” — as in, no live ammunition was loaded. As he demonstrated what he was supposed to be doing when filming commenced, however, he shot both Halyna Hutchins and director Joel Souza.

“What the f*** was that? That burns!” Souza screamed after he was shot.

“What the f*** just happened?” Baldwin yelled; the Times reported he “put the gun down on a church pew” and “looked down in horror at his two injured colleagues, repeating his initial question like a mantra.”

Crew members gathered around Hutchins, with a boom operator saying, “Oh, that was no good.”

“No,” Hutchins said. “That was no good. That was no good at all.”

Those were her last recorded words, and, in a few hours, she would be pronounced dead.

The problem with those using “Rust” as part of a wider debate around gun violence in Hollywood is that very basic firearm safety measures — both in the entertainment industry and in real life — would have precluded this from ever happening.

Plenty has been made about the entertainment industry’s best practices for firearm safety. First and foremost, no live ammunition should be present on set. According to NBC News, attorneys for armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed said she had “no idea” how the live rounds got there and the “set would never have been compromised if live ammo were not introduced.”

“Hannah was hired on two positions on this film, which made it extremely difficult to focus on her job as an armorer,” the statement read.

“She fought for training, days to maintain weapons and proper time to prepare for gunfire but ultimately was overruled by production and her department. The whole production set became unsafe due to various factors, including lack of safety meetings.”

Rust” assistant director David Halls — another focus of the investigation — reportedly admitted to authorities he should have checked the gun he handed Baldwin more thoroughly before it was handed off.

“David advised when Hannah showed him the firearm before continue rehearsal, he could only remember seeing three rounds,” a search warrant affidavit read, according to NBC News. “He advised he should’ve checked all of them, but didn’t, and couldn’t recall if she spun the drum.”

Furthermore, Baldwin violated basic rules of gun safety. The California Department of Justice, in their Firearm Safety Certificate study guide, lists six of them. Of the first three, Baldwin violated at least two and arguably a third.

  • The first rule, inculcated in every gun user (and plenty of people who aren’t) from the day they’re around firearms: “Treat all guns as if they are loaded.”
  • Rule number two: “Keep the gun pointed in the safest possible direction.”
  • Rule number three: “Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.”
  • First, yes, live ammunition isn’t supposed to be present on a production set. Even still, if Baldwin treated the gun as if it were loaded, we wouldn’t be talking about this.
  • Second, the demonstration could have been done in a way where the gun was pointed away from people. Also, while we don’t know where Baldwin’s finger was, what we do know is that it somehow found its way to the trigger — and he was not ready to shoot, either on camera or in real life.

You may find it either surprising or predictable that Baldwin, a staunch gun-control advocate, either didn’t know or exercise these basic gun safety rules. The failure, however, cannot be blamed on firearms — not when this accident happened in one of America’s most liberal industries and to a man who once said the “Second Amendment is not a moral credit card that buys you all the guns you want.” Corners were cut and rules were broken.

The Guardian, however, looks at the firearm first, which shouldn’t shock anyone. First, a Hollywood workplace safety incident puts the blame on the people it usually lionizes within its pages. Second, noting the fact three John Wick films can pass without a single major firearms injury while a low-budget Alec Baldwin Western claimed one life would open up too many unsettling ideological doors for them. After all, if those on the left admit the firearm wasn’t the problem here, imagine how much else about gun violence they would have to re-examine.

Liberal Writer Compares Gina Carano’s Firing To Hollywood Blacklisting Communists; Fans Start Petition To Get Her Rehired

Reported By  Ryan Saavedra |  | DailyWire.com

A liberal writer at New York Magazine is comparing Disney’s recent firing of conservative actress Gina Carano to when Hollywood blacklisted suspected communists.

“In the late 1940s and 1950s, Hollywood studios — under pressure from the right — promised they would not ‘knowingly employ a communist,’” Jonathan Chait wrote. “This blacklist eventually became notorious, especially in Hollywood, which came to lionize its victims in several films. And yet it is becoming increasingly difficult to distinguish the blacklist policy from the emerging current treatment of right-wingers.”

Chait highlighted the post from Carano that sparked accusations of anti-Semitism, which compared the current political state in the U.S. to Nazi Germany.

“The post in question, which triggered a social-media firestorm that quickly led to her firing and loss of representation, was not anti-Semitic by any reasonable definition,” Chait wrote. “The post simply argued (uncontroversially) that the Holocaust grew out of a hate campaign against Jews, which it then likened (controversially) to hatred of fellow Americans for their political views. … There is no hint anywhere in this post of sympathy for Nazis or blame for their victims.”

Chait argued that a “fairer and more liberal society” is able to separate the political views of an individual and the position of that person’s employer. The piece states that those in the entertainment industry should be able to work in the industry regardless of which political leaders they support.

The piece comes as thousands of Carano’s most diehard fans have started a petition to get Disney to rehire her for the “Star Wars” TV series, “The Mandalorian.”

Fox News reports:

A new Change.org petition started by fans calling for Lucasfilm and Disney to give Carano her part on the show back and to keep politics out of their artistic decisions going forward.

The petition states that the “firing celebrities over their political views has been happening way too often, and once again, Hollywood has struck down another conservative.”

“What she said may have been a little extreme, and I can even see why some people may have been offended, but her tweet was not made to incite violence or to express discrimination or hatred of any sort to any particular group,” the petition’s author writes. “And now, once again, a beloved actress has been fired for speaking her mind. This petition is for the executives at Disney. Please, why can’t you just leave politics out of the industry and press on? ‘The Mandalorian’ is a fantastic show, and Gina Carano’s portrayal of Cara Dune is a joy to watch. The Mandalorian wouldn’t be the same without her.”

“To the fans of ‘The Mandalorian,’ please. Speak out,” the petition concluded. “Disney needs to stop the trend of firing actors for controversial tweets, and just keep treating the fans to a great show. Rehire Gina Carano. Firing her isn’t justice.”

Matthew McConaughey Calls Out Hypocrisy Of Hollywood Elite Mocking Trump Voters Refusing To Accept A Biden Victory

Matthew McConaughey Calls Out Hypocrisy Of Hollywood Elite Mocking Trump Voters Refusing To Accept A Biden Victory

Matthew McConaughey is fed up with Hollywood’s political hypocrisy.

“There are a lot [of people] on that illiberal left that absolutely condescend, patronize, and are arrogant towards the other 50 percent,” he said in a recent conversation with podcast host Russell Brand.

McConaughey noted that most Hollywood actors, directors, and producers’ are quick to criticize the right’s response to the 2020 election, but fall short when compared to their own response to the 2016 election.

“I’m sure you saw it in our industry when Trump was voted in four years ago, they were in denial that was real. Some of them were in absolute denial,” McConaughey said.

“[Now] it looks like Biden’s our guy. Now you’ve got the right that’s in denial, cause their side has fake news. And I understand, they’ve been fed fake news,” McConaughey said. “No one knows what the hell to believe, right? So they’re putting down their last bastion of defense.”

McConaughey also expressed frustration with celebrity campaigns rallying for people to vote. While the actor said that he thinks voting is something many people from both sides of the aisle can get behind, many stars have politicized it beyond simply doing your civic duty, tacking on political messages, or even telling someone who to cast their vote for.

“That’s, you know, part of why so much of the nation, that 50 percent, looks at us in Hollywood like ‘oh yeah, another celebrity over there and the West Coasters and the elite in the Northeast,’ and that’s just because, even from a just a sales point of view, don’t tab that gotcha on the end,” McConaughey said.

Instead of buying into either side of the extreme political polarization, McConaughey encouraged Americans to walk the middle of the road.

“I almost feel like it’s a move to say, ‘Let’s get aggressively centric. I dare you,’” he said.

McConaughey recently hinted at running for governor in Texas before quickly clarifying his comments.

“I have no plans to do that right now, as I said, that would be up to a lot of other people,” McConaughey said.

“Right now, no,” he continued. “I don’t get politics. Politics seems to be a broken business. Politics needs to redefine its purpose.”

After Schools, Leftists Try To Remove God, Atheism Becomes Largest Religion in US

More than 50 years after the Supreme Court ruled prayer in public schools was unconstitutional, the percentage of Americans who claim no religion is slightly higher than the two largest religious faiths. (Anna Nahabed / Shutterstock)

The Freedom from Religion Foundation and the ACLU must be high-fiving each other.

In a development that can’t be heartening to the millions of America’s faithful, new survey data shows the percentage of Americans who profess no religious belief is actually higher those who are part of the country’s largest faith traditions. The trends might not be looking good right now, but there’s a reason to hope.

According to the General Social Survey, which has been tracking American social trends since 1972, Americans who claim no religion — or “nones” — now outnumber Roman Catholics and evangelicals.

“’Nones’ have been on the march for a long time now,” Ryan P. Burge, a professor at Eastern Illinois University, told the National Catholic Reporter.

“It’s been a constant, steady increase for 20 years now. If the trend line kept up, we knew this was going to happen.”

According to the NCR, the percentage of American “nones” is now 23.1, up from 21.6 percent in 2016. That’s only slightly ahead of Catholics, at 23 percent, and evangelicals, which were 22.5, down from 23.9 percent in 2016. The percentage is so small, considering the millions of individuals involved, it’s probably statistically insignificant. The NCR calls the results “statistically tied.”

But there’s no denying it represents a change in American life — and the kind that could have a direct result on the country’s politics.

NCR cited exit polls from the 2016 elections that white evangelicals made up 26 percent of the voters even if their share of the voting population wasn’t that large.

“Evangelicals punch way above their weight,” Burge said told NCR. “They turn out a bunch at the ballot box. That’s largely a function of the fact that they’re white and they’re old.”

That’s one way to put it. One could also look at it like they’re patriotic, committed, intelligent and aware that — as Americans — they’re part of the rich history of a nation that’s truly exceptional in world history. In other words, they’re pretty much the opposite of the millennial America that is embodied by progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her fellow Democrat freshmen representatives.

So let’s just stipulate that a future where the American electorate is made up of a lot fewer people like the voters who pushed Donald Trump over the top early on Nov. 9, 2016, and a lot more fans of AOC is likely to be a trying one for the country overall. But this has been coming for a long time. The General Social Survey numbers are almost to be expected if several factors are taken into account.

First and foremost, public schools have for decades been in the hands of an education establishment and leftist teachers unions that scorn traditional morality.

Secondly, our nation is saturated with an entertainment culture that celebrates individual narcissism and immorality while mocking virtually every expression of religious belief.

Finally, America’s political culture is such that one of its two major political parties has been virtually a religion-free zone.

Combine these factors with the lawfare practiced by the likes of the ACLU and the cranky atheists of the Freedom from Religion Foundation — which target even the most innocent endearing expressions of religious faith in public life – and it’s a wonder that numbers like this didn’t show up ages ago.

And as Michael Knowles pointed out at The Daily Wire, it’s probably no coincidence that the country is experiencing a level of social ills that it hasn’t seen before.

“As religiosity has declined, social ills have abounded. Nearly one in five American adults suffers from anxiety disorders, which now constitute the most common mental illness in the country,” Knowles wrote.

“One in six Americans takes antidepressant drugs, a 65% surge over just 15 years. The problem is particularly acute among younger Americans. While depression diagnoses have increased 33% since 2013, that number is up 47% among Millennials and 63% among teenagers. Coincidentally, suicide rates among American teenagers have increased by 70% since 2006. American life expectancy declined again last year, as Americans continue to drug and kill themselves at record rates.”

Does anyone think it’s just a coincidence that that happens when religious faith is failing? (And does anyone think it’s a coincidence that all of this happening less than 60 years after the Supreme Court ruled that prayer in public schools was unconstitutional. Three generations of Americans have grown up in the world that helped create.) Now, no one can believe the members of the American Civil Liberties Union wake up in the morning wondering how they can contribute to more American suicides than they did yesterday. And no one thinks the Freedom from Religion wackos in Wisconsin are consciously setting out to increase the mental and spiritual health of their fellow citizens. (Though at Christmas time, it can be hard to tell.) And one might even be able to give the benefit of the doubt to the American education establishment (though Hollywood and the teachers unions will never deserve it).

But even the most willfully obtuse, deliberately blind individual member of the cultural elite has to see the wreckage that’s being strewn across society by the large-scale abandonment of faith. And that might be a reason for hope.

The numbers might not be looking good at the moment, but it’s the job of conservatives to try to turn that trend around. The election of President Donald Trump was a start in that process — and the developments it made possible, like the gradual return of sanity to the United States court system, will help.

But this is the long fight — the longest fight there is — and conservatives have to be willing to get into it. If they are in the fight — heart and soul — a setback or two in the numbers of the faithful are largely irrelevant in the long run. Conservatives have taken on long odds before and won — the news out of the White House every day proves it. They can do it again.

A Pro-Choice Review of ‘Unplanned’: Movie Makes Even the Strongest Abortion Supporters Reconsider

Reported By Ben Marquis | Published April 2, 2019 at 6:54am

Despite a vast array of factors standing in the way of success, the pro-life movie “Unplanned” — which takes a decidedly critical view of abortion providers Planned Parenthood — opened in theaters this weekend with surprisingly robust ticket sales.

The film is centered around the real-life story of a former manager of a Planned Parenthood clinic who has second thoughts about her position on the issue after witnessing abortions first-hand. She has gone on to become an outspoken critic of her former employer and the abortion industry in general as she now supports the right to life of unborn babies.

The pro-life film has faced staunch opposition from the predominantly liberal mainstream, such as receiving an “R” rating that will undoubtedly keep away some viewers, a refusal of some networks to air ads for the film, and even what appeared to be coordinated efforts by social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to suppress accounts affiliated with the film in order to stifle its reach.

Despite all of those obstacles and more — or perhaps because of them — viewers flocked to see the film that tackles the abortion issue in a brutal, if thought-provoking manner, as evidenced by a review of the film from a self-proclaimed pro-choice viewer.

Writing for the Central Florida Post, a woman named Bridgette Bayley — who described herself as a pro-choice libertarian — admitted that the “Unplanned” movie had forced her to question many of the assumptions she had held as true with regard to abortion.

Bayley wrote that she initially resisted the efforts of a pro-life friend to get her to see the film, but eventually relented out of respect for her friend and the expectation she would have if she’d asked her friend to go see a movie about an issue that was important to her.

“I wish I had asked more questions. I almost wish I had not gone,” Bayley wrote. “Before the film, we got our drinks and smiled in front of the movie poster for Instagram, I had no idea how quickly our smiles would be wiped from our faces.”

Bayley wrote, “Unplanned was a bloody, emotional spiritual roller coaster.” She noted the irony of how conservatives tend to emphasize “facts over feelings” when the movie did the opposite, in her view, but noted how in doing so, the film managed to “tug on my heart strings in a way that actually made me reflect on a subject that I felt so confident on my beliefs of.”

She admitted that she had been “moved to tears” several times during the film, and expressed her appreciation for how the movie didn’t demonize the regular employees at Planned Parenthood clinics, but instead portrayed them as normal people who were misguided into believing that what they were doing was morally right and acceptable.

“By the end of the film, I was completely distraught, questioning everything I had ever believed about what abortion really was. I was hungry for more information, I went to Google, I talked with friends and I prayed,” Bayley wrote.

She declined to delve any further into whether her political affiliations and broader beliefs were substantially changed by the film, and stated that she still had plenty of questions about what she had seen in the movie. However, she admitted that she had been proven wrong when she entered the film with the mindset that nothing would change her core beliefs on the subject.

“What I saw DID make me question myself and my beliefs and I believe that EVERYONE should go and test themselves as I did,” she wrote.

Bayley encouraged everyone on both the pro-life and pro-choice sides of the debate to see the movie for themselves, for two distinct reasons. Pro-lifers should see it to realize not everyone who works in a Planned Parenthood clinic is a remorseless and evil monster, and pro-choicers should “go and expose yourself to a different perspective and compare that to your own reasons for your vote.”

“This film will challenge you in a way that politically-charged Facebook disputes never will,” she concluded.

This account of the pro-life film from an admitted pro-choice supporter of abortion is simply incredible and has gotten plenty of attention. Posted on the “Unplanned” movie’s Facebook page, it’s been shared more than 6,000 times from there alone.

We commend Bayley for not only keeping an open mind when viewing the film, but also having the bravery to publicly admit how it so thoroughly challenged her views on the subject.

Given the vehemence with which the pro-choice protects and defends abortion, Bayley’s admission is an unpopular one on that side, but it is correct. Hopefully others who have supported abortion will similarly see the movie with an open mind and come away with a changed heart.

Gay Mayor Who Heavily Attacked Kavanaugh Now Desperate for Due Process

Reported By Ben Marquis | Published February 18, 2019 at 7:09pm

During the contentious confirmation hearings of then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in October 2018, countless officials and pundits on the left played the role of judge, jury and executioner in regard to vague and uncorroborated allegations of sexual assault lodged against the nominee.

One of Kavanaugh’s many outspoken critics was the Democratic mayor/city council member of West Hollywood, John Duran, who was sharply critical of the judge’s behavior during the confirmation hearings and seemed to have uncritically accepted at face value the unconfirmed allegations of sexual misconduct that had been made public.

West Hollywood media outlet WEHOville reported in Oct. 2018 that Duran had joined with the rest of the city council to officially condemn Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the high court. Duran said, “Brett Kavanaugh’s display of rage and belligerence at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings proves that he does not have the temperament to be a judge — much less on the Supreme Court.”

“It is abhorrent to think we are placing our future, our equality, and our liberty in the hands of a drunken frat boy who sexually assaulted a teenage girl while his friend Mark Judge stood by and laughed. This is a sad moment in the history of our nation,” Mayor Duran added.

Fast-forward just four months and now the openly gay mayor of West Hollywood is singing an entirely different tune when it comes to the credibility of sexual misconduct allegations against individuals in positions of power, as he has come under fire in his own “#MeToo” scandal.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Duran stands accused of having sexually harassed at least three current or former members of the Gay Men’s Chorus in L.A. — of which Duran serves as chairman of the board — which consisted of his sticking his hand down their pants or making sexually suggestive comments.

The mayor also stands accused of using the gay dating app Grindr during public meetings, including in at least one instance of using the app’s messaging service to repeatedly make unwanted and inappropriate sexual advances toward an aide for a fellow council member.

On top of that, Duran has also been linked to the scandalous deaths of two gay black men at the home of prominent Democratic donor Ed Buck. Duran, who is also an attorney, used to represent Buck.

Despite calls for him to resign from several of his fellow council members, the unashamedly homosexual mayor stands defiant, and told the Times that it was all just a “culture clash,” and that, “If somebody expresses himself or herself sexually, that doesn’t make it harassment, per se.”

As to the use of Grindr to pursue sexual acts with the council member’s aide, that aide’s boyfriend — city events service coordinator Mike Gerle — filed a formal complaint against the mayor. Gerle said, “It’s about consent. … He has this sense of entitlement that because we’re gay, ‘I can do whatever I want with you because that’s our culture.’ He’s decided that’s our culture. He doesn’t understand that every gay man gets to decide what interactions he has. You don’t get a pass.”

For his part, Duran hypocritically sought to demand the due process he had denied Kavanaugh and defend himself from the accusations lodged against him in a lengthy statement posted to Facebook, a post that concluded with a vehement “HELL NO” in response to the demands that he resign.

Duran wrote, “SEXUAL HARASSMENT is a serious issue. Accusations must be taken seriously and addressed. This has been extremely painful for women for decades and decades. But once the allegations are made and received, there MUST be an investigation before conclusions are reached.”

“This is DUE PROCESS of law in the courts. And I know those rules do not apply in the court of public opinion,” he continued. “It’s much easier in this social media world for people to read something, ‘like’ it, retweet it and then move on.”

“But none of us (including me) wants to ever be accused falsely and have people jump to opinion and conclusion without any process in between. That is contempt prior to investigation,” he added, apparently oblivious to how differently he treated Kavanaugh versus how he demands to be treated.

After playing up all of the work he had done over the years on behalf of the gay community, Duran noted, “Now, I understand that the ground has shifted in a tectonic way with the ‘Me Too’ movement. I get that. But the pendulum swings too far when accusation is treated as truth, and mobs swirl around rumor and conclusions are drawn based on someone’s race, gender or sexual orientation and accusation alone. That leads to injustice.”

Too bad Duran didn’t apply that same standard to Kavanaugh just four months ago, while he hypocritically now demands it be applied to himself.

Nearly 2 Weeks After Alleged Hate Crime, Smollett Hands Over ‘Limited And Redacted’ Phone Records

While he did provide them Monday, the records were “limited and redacted,” according to WLS.

“We are very appreciative of the victim’s cooperation. However, the records provided do not meet the burden for a criminal investigation as they were limited and heavily redacted. Detectives may be following up with him to request additional data to corroborate the investigative timeline,” police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said, calling the redactions “extreme.”

Police are likely to require more information from Smollett, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Smollett, who is black and openly gay, said the two men shouted racist and homophobic slurs at the actor, before they put a noose around his neck and doused him with a chemical. Police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime. Smollett also claimed the attackers referenced Trump’s MAGA slogan.

Police said standard investigatory procedure requires independent verification of the phone call that allegedly took place during the attack.

“We have no reason to doubt the statements, but for a criminal investigation, we need to independently confirm the phone records,” Guglielmi said.

Police said they have examined surveillance cameras in the area of the alleged attack, but have yet to see any evidence that what Smollett described took place. However, the cameras did not record every part of Smollett’s walk through the neighborhood where he was attacked.

Smollett’s spokesperson said the actor was the victim in the incident and should be treated as such.

“Chicago PD has repeatedly informed us that they find Jussie’s account of what happened that night consistent and credible,” the spokesperson’s statement read.

“Superintendent Johnson has been clear from day one that Jussie is a victim. We are continuing to work closely with the Chicago PD and remain confident that they will find Jussie’s attackers and bring them to justice.”

Joy Villa Issues Fiery Response After Being Attacked over Pro-Trump Grammys Wardrobe

Singer Joy Villa showed up to the 2019 Grammys sporting a powerful political message through her attire, doing exactly what Joy Behar wants her musicians to be doing during award shows. Only, something tells me that the notoriously leftist loon Behar probably didn’t like the message Villa was pushing.

Wearing a long dress made to look like a wall, with the words “Build The Wall” scrawled on the back and holding a “Make America Great Again” purse, Villa made it pretty clear where she stood on President Donald Trump.

Naturally, since Villa was not conforming to the leftist ideals Behar and other liberals so desperately push, she was immediately vilified online and subjected to disgusting treatment.

To her credit, Villa didn’t take any of the criticisms laying down. She fired back in a very powerful and public manner.

“I don’t care what anyone thinks,” Villa bluntly said, before citing some statistics about drugs, sexual assault and child trafficking that the left will surely turn a blind eye toward.

But more importantly than defending herself, Villa also celebrated how her wardrobe choice was making more and more artists in the music industry comfortable to tout their conservative or Republican roots.

“I’m SO glad other artists are coming out,” Villa posted on Twitter. “It’s time. It’s been dominated for years by liberals.”

The most powerful and most fiery line of Villa’s tweets?

“Conservative culture is taking over.”

And just to be clear, Villa is not some flash in the pan crying for attention. She has consistently and proudly shown off her conservative beliefs. In fact, at the 2017 Grammys, Villa proudly wore a red, white and blue “Make America Great Again” dress.

She obviously had to deal with leftist backlash for that too, despite the fact that an immigrant actually made that dress for her.

In 2018, Villa donned a decidedly pro-life dress.

Perhaps if these award shows were less of a self-congratulatory exhibition for smug Hollywood elitists, and actually featured more authentic people with varying ideological viewpoints like Joy Villa, their ratings wouldn’t be so bad.

Perfect Timing: CEO of MyPillow Takes Bold Stand Against Abortion and Takes Fight to Hollywood

Reported By Malachi Bailey | February 1, 2019 at 11:50am

A pro-life movie that’s partially financed by MyPillow CEO Michael Lindell is set to be distributed nationwide next month, and it couldn’t have been announced at a better time.

The dramatic trailer for the pro-life feature film “Unplanned” was released on Thursday. In the film, Ashley Bratcher plays Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson, who renounces abortion after witnessing the procedure firsthand.

“Everything that they told us is a lie,” Johnson says in the emotional trailer.

Johnson is also warned that she made an enemy of “one of the most powerful organizations on the planet.” The film is set to be released on over 800 screens nationwide, beginning on March 29. “Unplanned” will be distributed by Pure Flix, which also theatrically distributed “God’s Not Dead,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, the film was partially funded by the MyPillow CEO, who has a history of standing up to the left. Last April, Lindell refused to pull his ads from Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” while leftists were targeting Ingraham’s advertisers. Now Lindell is investing money into a movie to combat abortion, and the trailer couldn’t have been released at a more perfect time.

Last week, Democrats in New York passed new legislation that will allow late-term abortions up to the moment of birth. Democrats in Virginia unsuccessfully tried to pass similar legislation this week, and Virginia’s governor is now under fire for allegedly supporting infanticide. In an interview on WTOP Wednesday morning, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam implied that post-birth abortion — otherwise known as infanticide — may be deliberated with doctors under the proposed legislation.

“If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable,” Northam prefaced.

“The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

These are the monsters that Lindell hopes to oppose by funding “Unplanned,” but unfortunately, liberals may try to attack his business in retaliation. Lindell will need conservatives’ support to compensate for liberal push back as he takes the fight against abortion to Hollywood.

Police Report Is Game-Changer in Case of Gay, Black Actor Attacked by ‘Trump Supporters’

Reported By C. Douglas Golden | January 30, 2019 at 9:29am

When gay black actor Jussie Smollett said he was attacked by white men who yelled some stuff about “MAGA,” it didn’t take long for the liberal rage machine to mobilize.

“The star of the tv show ‘Empire,’ Jussie Smollett, was attacked by two assailants early Monday morning in Downtown Chicago according to Chicago Police Department Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi,” CNN reported.

“Smollett, 36, was walking on the 300 block of E. North Lower Water Street when two men approached him and ‘gained his attention by yelling out racial and homophobic slurs towards him,’ Guglielmi says in a statement.

“Two unknown offenders — it is unknown if they were male or female — then attacked Smollett, hitting him in the face and then poured an unknown chemical substance on him.

“At some point during the scuffle, one of the offenders wrapped a rope around the victim’s neck and then both offenders fled the scene, the statement reads.”

Smollett took himself to Northwestern Hospital, where the incident was reported to police, according to CBS Chicago.

There was plenty of condemnation to go around, particularly after TMZ reported that the attackers had shouted “this is MAGA country.” Two of the outraged included black Democratic senators, who just by chance, happen to either be running for president or widely expected to be running for president.

There was one problem with this “modern-day lynching” narrative: None of that “MAGA country” stuff was originally mentioned to police and they’re having trouble corroborating the fact that the attack even happened.

“According to the victim, the offenders’ faces were concealed,” a police spokesman said, according to Reason. “We have no record indicating that (they shouted ‘MAGA’), we only have record of them shouting racial and homophobic slurs at him.”

A statement from Chicago Police confirmed that, Reason reported.

“We have no record of the ‘MAGA Country’ comment,” the statement said, according to Reason. “We have racial and homophobic comments documented.”

CNN reported that when police heard about the accusation and called the actor, he “relayed it to detectives in a supplemental interview.”

But then again, there’s some doubt as to whether the attack even happened.

In an area that has a “very high density” of surveillance cameras, according to the police spokesman’s statement, there is not a single image of an attack like the one Smollett described.

“A Chicago police spokesperson tells CNN that investigators canvassed the neighborhood where the reported attack occurred on actor Jussie Smollett and have found no still images or video from security cameras of the incident,” CNN reported.

“The only image of Smollett police obtained from security cameras was inside Subway Sandwich shop near the location of the reported crime, the actor was standing alone.”

For all I know, Smollett really was attacked by bigots who shouted the phrase “MAGA country,” and ambitious, Democratic politicians who are calling this a “a modern-day lynching” are absolutely justified. But here’s the thing — I’m going to wait to see whether or not that’s the case, as everyone else should have.

It hasn’t even been a fortnight since the Covington Catholic incident, and the lesson we were should have taken away from that “teachable moment” — be careful dealing with stories that confirm your cultural narrative — has been lost.

No fewer than two senators with eyes on the 2020 Democratic nomination have taken this accusation as gospel because they can use it as an illustration of supposed Trump-fueled hate coursing through the country, even though no arrests have been made and the evidence is scanty. If this turns out to be a hoax, Sens. Booker and Harris own this, as do the legion of liberals who tweeted this out without waiting for a fuller investigation.

Even if this turns out to be true, what they did was supremely irresponsible. That these two individuals are in the Senate is bad enough. Just imagine one of them in the White House, backed by a legion of people who think Donald Trump supporters are irresponsible bigots, but are willing to blame white Donald Trump supporters for a hate crime without any charges or even direct physical evidence. It will make the Obama years look like pure reason.

Ted Cruz Fires Epic Counterpunch After Jim Carrey’s Latest Haunting Cartoon Hits His Desk

Reported By Ben Marquis | November 6, 2018 at 12:13pm

Liberal Hollywood actor Jim Carrey was once beloved by audiences across America for his amazing acting ability in roles that ranged from rather serious to absurdly stupid — but incredibly hilarious — in his many popular movies over the years.

Sadly, Carrey succumbed to “Trump Derangement Syndrome” in 2016 and simply hasn’t been the same, trading in his spot in front of a camera for one in front of a canvas as he works out his inner demons through the process of painting what could be described by some as “artwork,” typically of the anti-Trump, anti-Republican variety.

The Daily Caller reported on the latest piece of “art” showcased by Carrey on social media, but it was the response he received from the featured subject of his piece — Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who is being challenged in the election by Democrat Texas Rep. Robert “Beto” O’Rourke — that truly garnered the attention.

Carrey tweeted, “Go Beto! Go Democrats! Vote like there’s no tomorrow. Let’s make this Tuesday like the end of every great vampire movie. Pull back the curtains and let the sunshine turn all those bloodsuckers to dust.”

Naturally, Carrey’s painting portrayed Cruz as a vampire that was shrinking away and shrieking in pain as he burst into flames and disintegrated while O’Rourke pulled back a curtain to bathe his opponent in sunlight.

The likening of Cruz to a vampire was possibly inspired by the admittedly funny comparisons of Cruz with the vampiric Grandpa Munster from the 1960s sitcom “The Munsters,” not to mention the leftist belief that Republicans are blood-sucking monsters who hate the living, especially women and children, or something.

For all of the criticisms that Cruz has received — both fairly and unfairly — few could say with a straight face that he doesn’t have a great sense of self-deprecating humor or that he is incapable of suffering and replying to harsh insults exceedingly well.

Cruz linked to Carrey’s tweet mocking him as a vampire, and wrote, “Hollywood liberals all in for Beto. But (self-described socialist) Jim Carrey made a mistake here: Vampires are dead, and everyone knows the dead vote Democrat….”

And then utter hilarity ensued and was enjoyed by all in the comment section of that tweet, as everyone understood the joke about Democrats using the fraudulent votes of dead people to win close elections. Just kidding … Cruz was ruthlessly mocked and excoriated by humorless liberals who failed to see the point or get the joke of his post.

Unfortunately for Carrey and his Cruz-hating fellow liberals, it is highly unlikely that Cruz will burst into flames and disintegrate when the curtains of the voting booths are opened after Election Day and the ultimate outcome of his race against O’Rourke is revealed.

The RealClearPolitics average of polls in the Texas Senate race show that Cruz holds a fairly comfortable 6-point lead over his challenger, with the four most recent polls in October giving Cruz a lead that ranged from as little as 3 points to as much as 10 points.

In all likelihood, given the manner in which pollsters have historically and routinely oversampled Democrats and independents and undersampled Republicans, Cruz could very well hold a more significant lead over O’Rourke than has been announced by the pollsters.

However, every conservative and Republican and right-leaning independent needs to get out and vote for Cruz on Tuesday to help drive a stake through the heart of the monstrous undead Marxist philosophy that continues to drive the Democratic Party increasingly leftward these days, lest they be allowed to suck out the lifeblood of our nation and economy by gaining control of Congress.

Breaking: ABC Officially Cancels ‘Roseanne’ After Controversial Barr Tweet

Within hours of Roseanne Barr sending a tweet with racially charged comments about a former member of the Obama administration, ABC announced it was cancelling “Roseanne” — one of the network’s biggest hits of the past TV season.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC said.

Disney CEO Bob Iger took to Twitter to add, “There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing.”

Earlier Tuesday, in a tweet that has since been deleted, Barr suggested former White House adviser Valerie Jarrett was the result of the “Muslim brotherhood & Planet of the Apes” having a baby.

The comments drew immediate criticism and Barr attempted to apologize.Picture2

Shortly after Barr’s original tweet, Wanda Sykes said she would not be returning to the show as its consulting producer.

Sara Gilbert, who plays Barr’s daughter on the ABC sitcom, also criticized Barr’s comments, saying they are “abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show.”

“This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love — one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member,” Gilbert said in a another tweet.

Prior to ABC’s announcement, Barr was blasted on Twitter for her comments, with several demanding ABC cancel her show.

News of the show’s cancellation comes almost two months to the day after the reboot of the popular 1980s and ’90s sitcom show premiered to huge ratings. More than 18 million people watched the March 27 episode of the updated show, exceeding the viewership for its original series finale in 1997 by 10 percentThe show was noteworthy for Barr’s character being a Trump supporter and viewers liked the middle-class lifestyle portrayed on the program.

After the strong debut, the show saw its viewership fall to roughly 10 million viewers for its season finale, which aired last week. Still, those numbers were more than strong enough to convince ABC to bring the show back in September.

Conservative Tim Allen’s Sitcom ‘Last Man Standing’ Cancelled Despite Strong Ratings

Reported

URL of the original posting site: http://www.westernjournalism.com/conservative-tim-allens-show-last-man-standing-cancelled-despite-strong-ratings/

ABC confirmed Wednesday it is cancelling Tim Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing, despite the show posting strong ratings. Deadline reports the popular program, which stars Allen as political conservative and Christian Mike Baxter, is the second-most watched comedy on ABC and the network’s third-most viewed scripted series overall.

Though airing at 8 p.m. Friday nights, Last Man Standing pulls only slightly fewer viewers than ABC’s No. 1, socially liberal, comedy Modern Family — airing at 8 p.m. on Wednesdays — which ABC did renew. The Live+7 viewership (those who watch the program live or within seven days on DVR) total is 8.1 million for Last Man Standing compared to Modern Family’s 8.7 million.

Despite being in its sixth season, the program only saw a modest 5 percent decline in viewership, in comparison to other shows which are normally down as much as 20 or 30 percent at this point in their television life, according to Deadline.

Variety reports, “Last Man Standing was ahead of the curve in the cultural sense as Allen played a conservative-minded patriarch who runs a sporting goods store and opines about the modern world, including political topics such as Obamacare and environmental policy.”

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live in March, Allen said it is dangerous to be politically conservative in Hollywood, as he recounted attending President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“I’m not kidding. You gotta be real careful around here. You get beat up if you don’t believe what everybody believes,” Allen said.

“This is like ‘30s Germany,” he added. “I don’t know what happened. If you’re not part of the group, ‘You know what we believe is right,’ I go, ‘Well, I might have a problem with that.

“I’m a comedian, I like going [off] on both sides,” Allen said.

The actor, who describes himself as a fiscal conservative, endorsed fellow Midwesterner and Ohio Gov. John Kasich during the presidential primaries. Allen did not endorse Trump during the general election, but did speak out last November against Hollywood liberals trying to bully others who supported him.

As reported by Western Journalism, Disney CEO Bob Iger defended his corporation, which is the parent company of ABC, against charges of being liberally biased during the annual shareholder meeting in March.

Iger was questioned whether Disney would continue to cater to “liberal coastal elites or make your company welcoming to all Americans?”

The CEO denied Disney was only focused on producing programming agreeable to liberals.

Iger, who co-hosted a Beverly Hills fundraiser for Hillary Clinton last August, has agreed to be part of the president’s Business Advisory Council.

“I don’t believe my membership in that group in any way endorses or supports any specific policy of the president or his administration,” Iger told shareholders, who opposed his participation.

Fans of Last Man Standing are hoping the show will be picked up by Netflix or some other outlet. The first five seasons of the show are currently offered on Netflix.

Marie Osmond Offers To Perform at Trump Inauguration To Help “Unite” America

Singer Marie Osmond made a surprising offer that could alienate her from the liberal elite in Hollywood, all for the sake of unity. She said she would be willing to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration if asked.

“I think when it comes to our country we need to unite,” Osmond recently said in an interview with Yahoo Finance“I think we should all support our president whether we’re happy or sad. This is America.”

Osmond, 57, has eight children of her own, and she said they all have different political beliefs. She added that she would never want them to feel division over politics.

“We should come together, and I think an Inauguration should be a time to unite, it really should,” the singer concluded.

Osmond and her brother, Donny, performed at President Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1981. She’s right that it’s time for the country to come together and let Trump do what the people elected him to do.

While Osmond confirmed that she would be on vacation during the event, we assume that she would have changed those plans had she been invited to perform.  That’s a big risk, considering the amount of venom most of Hollywood has been spewing against Trump since he announced he would run for office. There’s no doubt Democrats and liberal news outlets will trash Osmond for making the offer, but that’s exactly the kind of hate we’ve come to expect from the left.partyof-deceit-spin-and-lies

Yahoo reported that those who are scheduled to perform at the event included the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Radio City Rockets, the Talladega (Alabama) College Marching Tornadoes and “America’s Got Talent” star Jackie Evancho, who will sing the national anthem.

BOOM: Clint Eastwood Has PERFECT Response to Hollywood Libs Calling Trump Racist

waving flagAuthored By: Ben Marquis on October 7, 2016

URL of the original posting site: http://conservativetribune.com/eastwood-hollywood-trump-racist/

nat-chair-day-logoFamed Hollywood actor Clint Eastwood has long been known to hold a different opinion than most of his peers, leaning more towards a libertarianish conservatism than the typical elitist liberalism. Not much has changed for Eastwood over the years, as the 86-year-old still stands apart from most of the other actors and directors he works with making movies.

Eastwood sat down not too long ago for a wide-ranging interview with Esquire magazine that touched on the topic of empty-suit-empty-chairpolitics a bit, and he held nothing back in delivering a blunt assessment of young Americans and the media, as well as the two presidential nominees, Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Asked what he thought about people sort of adopting his classic film persona of being a tough guy that takes no guff from anyone, such as Trump, Eastwood replied, “But he’s onto something, because secretly everybody’s getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. That’s the kiss-ass generation we’re in right now.”

“We’re really in a p**** generation. Everybody’s walking on eggshells,” he continued. “We see people accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff. When I grew up, those things weren’t called racist.”

Pressed for more about Trump, Eastwood explained: “What Trump is onto is he’s just saying what’s on his mind. And sometimes it’s not so good. And sometimes it’s … I mean, I can understand where he’s coming from, but I don’t always agree with it.”

He made clear that he was not offering up an endorsement of Trump but nevertheless had a message for those who routinely accuse Trump of being a racist.

“He’s said a lot of dumb things. So have all of them. Both sides,” he stated. “But everybody — the press and everybody’s going, ‘Oh, well, that’s racist,’ and they’re making a big hoodoo out of it. Just f***ing get over it. It’s a sad time in history.”

Eastwood proceeded to reminisce about his famed “empty chair” address at the 2012 Republican National how-was-paris-empty-chairConvention and spoke about how he’d like to see everybody work harder and be more understanding of others’ differences instead of simply calling names or being intolerant.

Asked his opinion of Clinton, he replied, “What about her? I mean, it’s a tough voice to listen to for four years. It could be a tough one. If she’s just gonna follow what we’ve been doing, then I wouldn’t be for her.”

The interviewer pressed Eastwood to make a decision between Clinton and Trump.

Eastwood responded, “That’s a tough one, isn’t it? I’d have to go for Trump … you know, ’cause she’s declared that she’s gonna follow in Obama’s footsteps.”

“There’s been just too much funny business on both sides of the aisle. She’s made a lot of dough out of being a politician,” he added. “I gave up dough to be a politician. I’m sure that Ronald Reagan gave up dough to be a politician.”

Though Clint Eastwood’s answers to the interviewer’s questions were far from an endorsement of Trump, it is pretty clear that he was leaning toward the GOP candidate in this election, for many of the same reasons many other Americans are.stupid

Former Chief Psychiatrist at Johns Hopkins Has Bad News for Caitlyn Jenner

waving flagReported by Kim Smith on June 8, 2015

Dr. Paul R. McHugh, former psychiatrist in chief for Johns PC TransHopkins Hospital, has an opinion about former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner’s recent announcement that is sure to upset the many crusading for the transgender movement. McHugh not only believes that changing sexes is biologically impossible, he also believes those identifying themselves as transgender actually have a mental disorder.

McHugh, author of six books and over 125 peer-reviewed medical journal articles, wrote in a Wall Street Journal piece that surgery is not a solution for those wishing to live as the opposite sex.

McHugh wrote that these people believing they can choose their sex suffer from a “disorder of assumption.”

In the piece, he also quoted a study claiming that transgendered people undergoing reassignment surgery are 20 times more likely to commit suicide than non-transgendered people. (H/T BizPac Review)

McHugh also said that while Hollywood and the mainstream media promote transgenderism as normal, they are doing no favors to these people by treating their “confusions” as a right rather than treating them as a mental disorder that deserves treatment and prevention.definetly

The doctor considers the transgendered person’s “assumption” that they are “different than the physical reality of their body “a disorder similar to someone suffering anorexia nervosa.

McHugh claims that pro-transgender advocates do not want to accept the fact that studies indicate between 70 and 80 percent of children who express transgender feelings lose such feelings over time.

Changing sexes is impossible, according to the doctor and all transgendered people do is “become feminized men or masculinized women.”Transgender

In addition, those who had sexual reassignment surgery and felt satisfied with the results of that surgery fared no better in their psycho-social adjustments than those who didn’t have surgery.

Because of these studies, Hopkins stopped doing sex-reassignment surgery, the doctor said.

While certain people will disagree with Dr. McHugh’s statements, more will probably agree. But the liberal media will likely try to smother those who find such transitions troubling and embrace actions that add to the moral decay of our country.

Liberals Love Blacklists as Long as Conservatives are the Ones Being Blacklisted

waving flagWritten by Gary DeMar, Mar 1, 2016

URL of the original posting site: http://constitution.com/liberals-love-blacklists-as-long-as-conservatives-are-the-ones-being-blacklisted

You may have heard the news report that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg “reprimanded employees for replacing ‘Black Lives Matter’ slogans with ‘All Lives Matter’ on the walls of the company’s headquarters in San Francisco.” “In a private Facebook post obtained by Gizmodo, Zuckerburg told employees that their behaviour was ‘malicious’ and ‘disrespectful,’ and reminded them that there are ‘specific issues affecting the black community in the United States.’” (H/T: Breitbart)

There are always “specific issues,” but not everyone has to agree with what those issues are or how they should be addressed. Facebook was built on the underlying principle that people could speak their mind to the world and not be molested about what they believed. That has changed.

Zuckerburg has joined the liberal blacklist brigade. Articles have been published on how Twitter is “shadowbanning” conservative tweets.

“A disturbing report from Breitbart reveals that Twitter has been ‘shadow banning’ some conservatives sites without telling the owners of the accounts that their tweets are being restricted.

“According to the report, confirmed to Breitbart by a Twitter official, the company has a ‘white list’ and a ‘black list,’ with white list tweets getting favored search engine treatment while blacklisted accounts are left off timelines and virtually blocked from getting search engine coverage.” (H/T: American Thinker)

There isn’t enough space to describe how an unspoken blacklisting is rampant in today’s universities and the media. Try to get tenure at a major university if you’re a conservative.

In 2008, Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich gave $1,000 to the campaign to pass Proposition 8, the constitutional amendment that banned same-sex marriage in California. To a homosexual, it was like he gave money to Adolf Hitler or the Grand Kleagle of the KKK.

Other supporters faced the wrath of the Gaystapo for their support of Proposition 8.

Peter Vidmar, a double gold-medal winner in the 1984 Olympics in gymnastics, was forced to resign as Chairman of USA Gymnastics. Why? Because in 2008 he donated $2000 to support Proposition 8. The homosexual defamation machine went into action and put pressure on the Olympic Committee and its sponsors.

A letter writer to the San Francisco Chronicle who supported Prop 8 was intimidated when Internet search engines were used “to find the letter writer’s small business, his Web site (which included the names of his children and dog), his phone number and his clients. And they posted that information in the ‘Comments’ section of SFGate.com — urging, in ugly language, retribution against the author’s business and its identified clients.”

The blacklist lives and thrives in the hands of liberals!

During the 1940s and 1950s, Hollywood producers, directors, and actors were being scrutinized for their political beliefs. The period of “red hysteria” put people’s jobs in the film industry in jeopardy. “Artists were barred from work on the basis of their alleged membership in or sympathy toward the American Communist Party, involvement in liberal or humanitarian political causes that enforcers of the blacklist associated with communism, and/or refusal to assist federal investigations into Communist Party activities; some were blacklisted merely because their names came up at the wrong place and time.”

Writers and directors testified before Congress and the specially called House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). When a group of 10 writers and directors — the so-called Hollywood Ten — refused to testify before the committee, a Hollywood “blacklist” was instituted on November 25, 1947. On June 22, 1950, the journal Counterattack published Red Channels, a report on the “Communist Influence in Radio and Television.” The booklet identified 151 actors, writers, musicians, broadcast journalists, and others it believed were using the entertainment industry to spread Communist ideals. Even before publication, some on the list were already being denied employment because of their political beliefs. Beginning in May of 1947, the Counterattack newsletter published weekly information on the political views of entertainment figures.

On November 25, 1947 (the day after the House of Representatives approved citations of contempt for the Hollywood Ten because of their refusal to testify), Eric Johnston, President of the Motion Picture Association of America, issued a two-page press release that represented the views of the heads of the major studios. The “Waldorf Statement,” as it came to be called, announced the firing of the Hollywood Ten and stated:

“We will forthwith discharge or suspend without compensation those in our employ, and we will not re-employ any of the 10 until such time as he is acquitted or has purged himself of contempt and declares under oath that he is not a Communist. . . . We will not knowingly employ a Communist or a member of any party or group which advocates the overthrow of the government of the United States.”

Most people today would not recognize the names of the Hollywood Ten. The two-time Oscar-winner Dalton Trumbo (1905–1976) might be the exception since the release of the 2015 film Trumbo.

Read related article: Did You Know that According to the Film ‘Trumbo’ Communism is All about Sharing?

He started as one of the highest paid writers in Hollywood making $4000 per week and worked on a number of noted films: Kitty Foyle (1940), Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944), A Guy Named Joe (1943), Spartacus (1960), and Our Vines Have Tender Grapes (1945), starring Edward G. Robinson whose name was published in the Red Channels booklet, although Robinson was never “officially” blacklisted.

Trumbo’s 1939 anti-war novel, Johnny Got His Gun,1 won an American Book Sellers Award that year.2 It didn’t help Trumbo that the novel was serialized in the Communist periodical The Daily Worker in March 1940 and “became ‘a rally point for the left’ which had opposed involvement in World War II during the period of the Hitler-Stalin pact.”

This and a visit from the FBI3 made Trumbo persona non grata among many in Hollywood, especially since, politics aside, bad publicity could doom a film that was written by a pacifist. How do you sell a movie to a patriotic public when the screenplay was written by a “Commie”? Hollywood was then and is now more about money than ideology. Left-leaning actors, writers, directors, and producers knew this, that’s why the movies they worked on did not espouse their radical ideology.

Let’s not forget that Communists, Trumbo included, had their own blacklists:

“When leftists have been in power, they, too, have eliminated their perceived ideological opponents from earning a living. Trumbo himself admitted to participating in the crushing of authors and works that did not agree with his ideology. Today, left-wingers on college campuses have all but eliminated anyone to their right from consideration for tenure-track employment. Facts like these would be welcome in any deep, rich, complex treatment of the life of a Dalton Trumbo.” (H/T: Front Page Mag)

Trumbo and his Communist friends made their money from the system of government and economies they hoped to replace with a failed political system. Little has changed in our day. Leftists extol the virtues of Che, Fidel, described as “Hollywood’s favorite tyrant,”4 and Hugo Chavez while failing to comprehend that their profession would be taken over and used for propaganda purposes.

Trumbo was still able to make a living while blacklisted since producers got his services at bargain-basement prices as long as his work went uncredited or was acknowledged under an assumed name (e.g., the film The Brave One). In fact, he had more work than he could handle.5

“The film blacklist ended in 1960 when Kirk Douglas, the star and executive producer of Stanley Kubrick’s Spartacus, credited blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo, of the Hollywood Ten, as the movie’s writer, using Trumbo’s real name. Ever since his blacklisting in 1947, Trumbo had been submitting scripts under the pseudonym Sam Jackson.  President-elect John Kennedy crossed American Legion picket lines to view Spartacus, thereby lending the credibility of the nation’s highest office to the effort to end blacklisting. . . .  Also in 1960, director Otto Preminger publicly announced that Trumbo had written his blockbuster film, Exodus.”6

The Hollywood blacklist era has outraged liberals for more than 60 years, but it hasn’t stopped modern-day liberals from creating their own blacklist of conservatives.

Woman shot, killed in Hollywood with no apparent motive
A 30-year-old woman walking with her boyfriend in Hollywood was shot and killed, and police are looking for the gunman.

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) –A woman walking with her boyfriend in Hollywood was shot and killed, and Civil Race Bothpolice are looking for the gunman. The shooting was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday. Police said the victim, identified as Carrie Jean Melvin, 30, of Hollywood was found on Sunset Boulevard and McCadden Place near Hollywood High School.

According to investigators, the suspect approached the woman from behind and shot her. The woman’s boyfriend, who was with her at the time, was not shot. Police said Melvin lived nearby and the two were walking to get something to eat. Melvin was pronounced dead at the scene. Her boyfriend was not injured. His identity has not been released.

Authorities said there is no known motive at this time. “We’ve interviewed the boyfriend, there’s no indication that they had any idea there were enemies, that she would be targeted, so at this point we just don’t know,” said Detective John Skaggs.

Witnesses said the suspect ran to a car, described as a black four-door vehicle, and drove off.

Police described the suspect as a black male wearing dark clothing and a hoodie. Authorities said they are planning on looking at surveillance footage from nearby businesses to assist in their investigation.

Skaggs had a message for the suspect. “We are going to pursue you. We’re going to investigate this case with everything that we have,” Skaggs said.

Area resident Nikkolene Callis said she heard what sounded like a shotgun blast, and it was so loud that car alarms were set off. “And then, looked out and saw all the police cars coming and a body laying on the ground which was clearly the victim,” Callis said.

If you have any information about this crime, you’re urged to contact homicide detectives at (213) 382-9470 or (877) LAPD-247.

Hollywood star caught on tape teaching his kid something awesome about America

waving flagby Wilson Thursday, May 28, 2015

It’s kind of sad that a video like this out of Hollywood is an exception rather than the norm, but that doesn’t make the moment any less touching. Chris Pratt, star of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Jurassic World’, spent Memorial Day teaching his son the Pledge of Allegiance. It’s something we all take for granted, but we don’t often see the moments where we learn something so important to our lives as Americans caught on camera. “Meant to post this on Memorial Day but I was in China and my phone wasn’t working. I’m proud to be American. I’m blessed to get to travel the world!” Chris wrote on Facebook.

The video went mega-viral after he posted, and has already racked up over a million views.

Wait Until You See the ‘Abortion Barbie’ Posters that Greeted Democrat Wendy Davis in Hollywood

Abortion-Barbie-1
Wendy Davis, the State Senator from Texas who is also the Democrat gubernatorial candidate, was partying it up with the Hollywood elite on Thursday in L.A. Those radical progressives from California who would like to help turn Texas blue paid upwards of $25,000 to the campaign of Davis for the privilege of attending a ‘soiree’ in her honor. Davis was catapulted to national fame and earned the name Abortion Barbie when she filibustered a proposed bill in Texas that would end late-term abortions. The bill would have also required doctors performing abortions to have hospital admitting privileges. Her antics proved unsuccessful and the bill became law.

Davis’s visit to L.A. was met with more than just the bright lights of the big city of glitzy Hollywood.  Twenty life-sized posters depicting Wendy Davis as “Abortion Barbie” was placed throughout Los Angeles just ahead of her fundraiser.

The posters say “Hollywood Welcomes Abortion Barbie, Wendy Davis”. The life-sized Barbie pic has Wendy Davis’ face as Barbie, a plastic baby in her belly, and a pair of scissors next to her near a baby’s head.

Abortion-Barbie-2
Since Davis stood up and fought against making abortions more safe for women and advocated strongly for the killing of the baby during even a late pregnancy stage, one would think she would proudly embrace her depiction. After all, it is simply a pictorial representation of her advocacy in support of abortion, even during the late –term.

Of course, the Davis campaign is attempting to use the posters as a way to attack her GOP opponent Greg Abbott, despite the fact that he had nothing to do with the posters. According to Newsbusters, Kathryn Stuard, a conservative woman from Midland, Texas, paid the conservative artist “Sabo” to design and hang the posters.

MySanAntonio.com reports that Stuard, a 53-year old woman who made her money in the oil business, said of the posters, “It hits people with the truth. The artist is very edgy…I do support (Greg) Abbott but the campaign had nothing to do with these (posters).”
