The latest official report of a drone in the possession of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) is tucked in an August 3rd press release from U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the overseers of the air campaign in Syria and Iraq against the terrorist organization. The reference is included in a list of targets from the previous day near the Iraqi town of Ramadi: “[T]hree airstrikes struck an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed an ISIL motorcycle, an ISIL drone, four ISIL vehicles and an ISIL resupply truck.”

A CENTCOM spokesperson told THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the “remotely piloted aircraft ‘RPA’ was destroyed on the ground,” but that the coalition was unable to confirm whether or not the drone had been armed.

This drone destroyed in Iraq in August was the third ISIL drone targeted to date by Operation Inherent Resolve and the most recent hit since June. The only ISIS drone destroyed so far in Syria was located near Raqqah and was targeted on June 26th. CENTCOM reported that “five airstrikes struck three ISIL tactical units, destroying five ISIL excavators, an ISIL vehicle and an ISIL remotely piloted aircraft.”

The first instance of an ISIS drone being taken out by Operation Inherent Resolve was reported by the Daily Beast in the spring of 2015 based on a March 18th press release from CENTCOM. The Daily Beast quoted military officials as saying that “they believe the drone in question is one of several owned by ISIS but that fighters only recently started seeing them appear on the frontlines.” At the time, it was believed the drone’s mission was one of surveillance, not attack, and was described by military officials as “something that could be bought commercially.”

Although the Daily Beast article was titled “Is ISIS Building a Drone Army?” and noted that experts have said that “ISIS could convert this kind of technology into something deadly,” military officials dismissed the idea: “there [is] a big difference between what ISIS could have purchased off of Amazon.com … and the Reapers and Predators deployed by coalition forces.”

When asked this week if drone use by ISIS was on the rise, a CENTCOM spokesperson told THE WEEKLY STANDARD that “[c]urrently, there is no assessment indicating an increased use of RPA’s [remotely piloted aircraft] by ISIL.”

Monitor: ISIS Controls More than Half of Syria

waving flagby Edwin Mora21 May 2015Washington, D.C.

Heavy clashes between the two sides resulted in the death of at least 100 Assad regime fighters, said the Observatory, which monitors the Syrian war through a network of sources on the ground.

In a rare public appearance on May 6, Assad admitted for the first time that his regime had suffered a spate of military defeats at the hands of Syrian rebels including ISIS.

U.S. Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, acknowledged on May 7 that Syrian rebel factions had made recent gains against Assad and suggested that the dictator should consider negotiating peace. “The capture of Palmyra is the first time ISIS has taken control of a city directly from the Syrian army and allied forces, which have already lost ground in the northwest and south to other insurgent groups in recent weeks,” notes Al Arabiya News.

Gen. Jack Keane, former Vice Chief of Staff for the Army, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that the U.S. was losing the war against ISIS, prompting criticism towards President Obama’s anti-ISIS strategy. Keane himself said Obama’s efforts to fight ISIS are “fundamentally flawed.”

On March 11, Secretary of State John Kerry told lawmakers that ISIL’s momentum has been diminished.”Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Palmyra is home to a UNESCO World Heritage site that includes colonnaded streets, temples, and a theatre that have stood for nearly 2,000 years. The ancient sites are at risk of being looted and destroyed if they have not been already.

On Thursday, the White House press secretary described ISIS’s seizure of Palmyra as a “setback” for the U.S.-led campaign against ISIS. He added that President Obama disagrees with Republicans urging the deployment of U.S. ground troops to combat ISIS.muslim-obama

The global community must respond to ISIS, said French President Francois Hollande on Thursday. “We have to act because there is a threat against these monuments which are part of humankind’s inheritance and at the same time we must act against Daesh,” declared Hollande, referring to ISIS by its Arabic name.

The Iraqi city of Ramadi, the capital of the country’s largest province Anbar, has also fallen to ISIS.

SOUTH CAROLINA Democrats Oppose Legislation That Would Ban Islamic Sharia Law from State Courts

 Reported By

Islamization

The Republican-sponsored anti-sharia legislation which would ensure that Islamic and other foreign laws are kept out of consideration by South Carolina courts is being stonewalled by Democrat panderers who seek to appease Muslim supremacists pushing hard to get sharia law recognized by American courts.

Post and Courier: A vote on the anti-Sharia law bill was postponed until Tuesday at the earliest after an hours-long debate over Charleston Republican Rep. Chip Limehouse’s proposal. Limehouse has said a law is needed to prevent radical Islamic beliefs from infiltrating state courts. Democrats said the bill showed why the GOP was unfit to govern and why South Carolina is the butt of late-night television jokes. They accused Republicans of legislating off of Internet rumors.

Rep. James Smith, D-Columbia, called the bill “red meat” and “politics at its worst,” while Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter, D-Orangeburg, chastised Limehouse and others for having the wrong priorities.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Defenders of the measure said that events in Iraq and the growth of radical Islam in America mean that South Carolina should ensure that laws adhered to by militant groups like ISIS don’t end up in U.S. courts. Sharia law is also sometimes used in Muslim communities to settle contract disputes or family matters, although American courts are not bound by those rules. The terrorist group ISIS has used the 14th century laws to justify the beheading of prisoners in Syria and Iraq.

Limehouse has cited the Center for Security Policy, a conservative Washington, D.C.-based think tank, that has prompted states around the country to introduce laws banning the use of foreign or Sharia laws. The center has cited 146 cases in 32 states where Sharia law was used as a legal argument. Those states are Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Washington, Alabama and Florida, according to the center.Got-Quran_thumb1-300x228

A fear of Islamic law has grown particularly among conservative groups around the country as terrorist groups have carried out attacks and spread their message on social media. Rep. Joe Neal, D-Hopkins, said Republicans were fear-mongering. “Laws in this state ought to be based on our Constitution not on fear, not on suspicion,” he said. “We’re better than this because we don’t need to give in to fear … and the kind of low-brow politics this seems to represent.”Picture9

Christian Genocide in Full Swing – Where Are Obama and Our Leaders?

waving flagAuthored by avatar , on 15 May, 2015

Christian PersecutionThe global slaughter of Christians is growing in leaps and bounds at the hands of Muslims and their supporters. ISIS or ISIL and other murderous Islamic relatives consider the daily torture and murder jobs of Christians simply obeying Muhammad and their pagan god Allah. Sometimes they offer the victim before they are murdered, the 3 choices stated in Chapter 9 of the Koran – 1) Forcibly convert to Islam 2) Give them great amounts of money as a high tax to stay alive 2) or be killed. Many times they don’t even offer them those options. Instead they just cut right to the torture and murder part – slow and gruesome.

Each week I interview on my national radio show, experts who have tasted the real horror offered up by Islam and are involved with exposing and confronting the real Islamic agenda. It is most clear that there is a real Christian genocide happening all around the world. Ted and Whalid Shoebat  have long exposed the slaughterhouses in Syria, where Christians are kidnapped, tortured, hung by their feet like cows, then butchered.

This is a regular occurrence along with ISIS and Islamic rebels wiping out whole Christian neighborhoods and villages.

Not only has America and Obama not helped the victims or confronted the Islamic murderers, but instead, Obama has been complicit in creating ISIS – ISIL by sending them (through Lybia) thousands of lethal and high-end weapons and money.muslim-obama Islamapologist Obama Muslim collection

Not only did America, under Barack Obama’s leadership, weaponize the Islamic rebels, growing and creating ISIS and its offspring, but the weapons pathway and illegal activities lead to the murder of Ambassador Stevens and staff. We are still awaiting justice and untangling the cover up that has followed for many years now. I pray Rep. Trey Gowdy pushes through the wall on this investigation and gets it right.

The genocide is funded and organized all around the world. All through Africa, where villages are torched; young girls are captured and used as sex slaves, husbands and fathers are murdered in front of their families and torture and kidnappings are daily staples. Iraq is a growing horror show as well and once again Obama says nothing except for Christians to get off their ‘high horse’ and be ashamed because of our involvement in the Great Crusade over 600 years ago. I am ashamed all right…I’m ashamed that Christians took so long to rise up at the hands of Muslim aggression, torture and stealing of their land. Will today in America end up being another place in history where we were ‘too little – too late’?

Several have screamed very loud, making desperate appeals to stop the madness and get help from the US and our Government to save lives, but Obama is nowhere on this. He just looks the other way as hundreds of thousands of American citizens and Christians are murdered in the name of Allah and Muhammad. Obama has gone way behind being another Neville Chamberlain horror. Obama knows that the tortures and blood letting is happening all over to Christians and does nothing about it. Chamberlain could hardly believe Hitler would be capable of such evil so imposed denial on himself.

Sister Dian Momeka of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena has spoken before the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She has described in Technicolor what is going on to Christians throughout Iraq. She describes it as mass genocide and has begged Obama and America for help. Her comments were covered in a Newsmax piece by Cathy Burke.

“As this horror spread throughout the Nineveh Plain, by Aug 6, 2014, Nineveh was emptied of Christians, and sadly, for the first time since the seventh century A.D., no church bells rang for Mass in the Plain of Nineveh,” she said, adding that since then, more than 120,000 people found themselves “displaced and homeless” in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. “The current persecution that our community is facing is the most brutal in our history.”

Cardinal Dolan and others have weighed in and warned Obama and America about our skewed lack of protection of Christians in the Mideast, yet nothing is done and Obama plays more golf.Break-Glass-600-wLogo Eye-balling-590-LI ISIS-Execution Lettermn-burn-590-LI Marthas-Fiddler Obama_Nero-2-330x189 unfit whatif World Crisis wraped up in himself

It appears as if by his brazen lack of action and even words against Christians, that Obama is in full support of the Islamic caliphate and murderous genocide of Christians worldwide. If he isn’t in support of this then he must do more than ‘sound bite’ theatre and brief empty statements reflecting no action.

We find ourselves in another Nazi Germany horror show of extermination again. This time it is the Christians and we have a President who not only looks the other way, he funds and weaponizes the murderous Islamic groups that are doing it all.

Preparation is Key For the Upcoming Guerrilla War Against Islamists in America

urban_warfare1At the expense of waxing tedious, I must reiterate the need for preparation before we enter into the prolonged guerrilla war on our own streets and neighborhoods. In case you have paid no attention whatsoever to what I have written in the past let me do a brief refresher: All around us on the international stage we see what Islamists are prepared to do to their neighbors who do not share their ideological bent. That would be rape, beheadings, murder, beatings, child molestations, and the ever-present stares of those who are our betters and the leers that go with it.

Looks only remain looks until action can be taken without fear of reprisal. And that is why I am back to encouraging preparedness.

angry 05

The beheadings of infidels have arrived on our soil. That which we predicted has become reality. So you might declare, it only happened once! That my fellow patriots is enough. At what point in time will it become a wave? We do not know. But we have seen evidence across the globe that certain dates hold a high probability that Islamists will follow up with attacks on unbelievers. I would not have you in a position of never having been told nor being warned of the dangers. Identifying the potential enemy is not an easy task. That each Muslim is the enemy is the bottom line. How they appear is where the challenge lies.Muslims in the White House Administration

Just the other day I was looking at a used car on a lot next to a McDonald’s where I had just had breakfast. An attendant on the lot was chatting to me when up walked a woman in a head covering scarf looking for the keys to a particular car. The man handed them to her and told me that she was his wife. I asked if he was a Muslim, he said that he was. He was a middle eastern looking gentleman in a suit and seemed pleasant enough, unless you are privy to the demands that are made of him by his religion. I took note of the number of possible Islamist terrorists located at that particular corner car lot. I am making a survey of my community and have already discovered hundreds of locations where Muslims live/work/indoctrinate.Confused

Am I a paranoiac in need of therapy? Evidence from the international news would suggest otherwise. “Be prepared” is not just a fancy slogan, it may be the philosophy that ensures your survival and that of those you love.

Report: 4 Islamic terrorists found in Texas in last 36 hours

Imperial Islamic President ObamaA noted Washington watchdog organization on Wednesday said four “Islamic terrorists” have been caught in Texas after coming into the U.S. across the Mexican border in just the last 36 hours.

Judicial Watch announced its sources within the Department of Homeland Security say the arrests were made by federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety in McAllen and Pharr.

The announcement came only hours after a member of Congress, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., disclosed in a TV interview that jihadists with the Middle Eastern group ISIS have been caught coming into the U.S. from Mexico.

He said his information came from the Border Patrol.

“They were caught at the border … therefore, we know that ISIS is coming across the border,” he said. “If they catch five or 10 of them, we know there are dozens more that did not get caught.”

Judicial Watch said it confirmed its information after Hunter, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, was interviewed by the Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren.

Hunter said that if the administration really wants to protect Americans from ISIS, it needs to secure the southern border.

“It’s that simple. ISIS doesn’t have a navy, they don’t have an air force, they don’t have nuclear weapons,” he said. “The only way that ISIS is going to harm Americans is by coming in through the southern border – which they already have.’

“They aren’t flying B-1 bombers, bombing American cities, but they are going to be bombing American cities coming across from Mexico,” he said.

Watch his interview with Fox News:

By Wednesday evening, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson denied the reports, telling CNN, “Let’s not unduly create fear and anxiety in the

public by passing on speculation and rumor.”

Johnson said Hunter’s claims are not supported by “credible, specific intelligence to that effect” and that public officials should “be responsible in what we decide to share with the American public, so that the public is informed.”

Spokesman Joe Kasper told CNN Hunter stands by his statements.

WND reported the Department of Homeland Security, which has claimed there is not an imminent danger of ISIS breaching the nation’s southern border, has nevertheless confirmed ISIS may be thinking about making such a move.

Francis Taylor, the undersecretary for intelligence and analysis at DHS, provided that assessment to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee at a congressional hearing, Bloomberg News reported.

“There have been Twitter and social media exchanges among ISIL (ISIS) adherents across the globe speaking about that as a possibility,” Taylor said.

Taylor said ISIS “doesn’t pose an immediate threat” to the homeland, but the jihadist organization, which claims to have established a caliphate ruled by Islamic law, can attack American targets overseas without warning, the Associated Press reported.

Taylor explained during the hearing that ISIS has “capabilities” that most jihadist groups lack.

Taylor’s warning was echoed by Nicholas Rasmussen, the deputy director of the National Counterterrorism Center, who said there already have been attacks in France and Belgium by former ISIS fighters.

WND reported earlier that Judicial Watch warned there was an ISIS presence in Mexico, just across the border from Texas.

The warning was followed by an increase in security imposed at Fort Bliss, Texas.

“It’s a significant issue when this is done,” retired Army Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin said of the higher security measures at Fort Bliss, which is just across the border from Juarez, Mexico.

“That means they’re getting a threat stream. Fort Bliss had to have a clear and present threat,” said the former Delta Force commander, who also was deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence for four years.

Fort Bliss spokesman Lt. Col. Lee Peters said that based on Department of Defense “guidance from recent nationwide incidents, and our own internal assessments coupled with recent media reporting, we decided to implement increased security measures on Bliss.”

“These changes are not as a result of a specific threat but rather to simply get prudent security measures in place to protect our military, employees and visitors,” the statement said.

The move was made shortly after Judicial Watch said Islamic terrorist groups are “operating in the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juarez and planning to attack the United States with car bombs or other vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.”

The report said high-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued.

“Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.”

The organization said the sources “reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.”

The report said commanders at Fort Bliss were briefed.

The online news source Policy.Mic said: “Forget immigration: The Islamic State may be the best reason yet to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.”

The report noted that Texas Gov. Rick Perry had warned a Heritage Foundation audience weeks ago that ISIS militants “may have already slipped across the Mexican border.”

While he said there was no clear evidence then of terrorists being in the U.S., Perry said, “I think there is the obvious, great concern that – because of the condition of the border from the standpoint of it not being secure and us not knowing who is penetrating across – that individuals from ISIS or other terrorist states could be.”

One Texas sheriff said he wasn’t really worried about it.

“If there are ISIS fighters that may already be in the United States, or in your area who’ve crossed the border, what’s your message to them?” CNN’s Don Lemon asked Midland County Sheriff, Gary Painter.

“If they rear their ugly heads, we’ll send them to hell,” Painter said

What if Ebola-Infected People are Used as Weapons by the Islamic State?

ZEbola
ConfusedIn a frightening description of what might be in store for the Western world, TPNN’s Tim Constantine noted that just as the world had never considered a jetliner being used as a missile prior to 9/11, the world is not considering the possibility that the Ebola Virus can be used as a weapon of mass destruction.

Constantine notes that a man has already been infected with the Ebola Virus and that officials are already trying to contain the threat by corralling the many people with whom the infected traveler came into contact.
Describing the way 9/11 changed the way we assessed threats, Constantine questioned,
“What if someone took the Ebola Virus and used it in an equally shocking manner? What if those who would do harm to the United States intentionally infect young men committed to the Islamic State and then send them across our porous border to come into contact with as many people as they possibly can?”

It’s a terrifying thought.

What do you think?

Could terrorists exploit our porous borders to introduce Ebola into the U.S.?

Hunt for French intelligence officer-turned-Islamic-terrorist plotting attack on US

  • Agent is said to be highest ranking official to have joined organization
  • He is said to have survived the attacks which hit the Khorosan group
  • Unidentified man believed to be an explosives expert with an Arab family
  • Only member identified so far is leader Mushin Al-Fadhl who was killed

A former French intelligence officer who defected to Al Qaeda in Iraq was one of the targets of US air strikes last month, it has been revealed.

The unnamed man, said to be one of the highest ranking Western officials to join the terror group, is believed to have survived the attack, which hit eight different locations occupied by the Nursa Front.

His identity has been kept a secret with some saying his defection was one of the most dangerous developments in the on-going battle with the militant organization.

Scroll down for video.

According to McClatchy DC he is a former explosives expert with an Arab family and his movements are being closely watched by Western authorities.

One European official told the site that they had tried to take the defected official out with a strike rather than capture him because of the desire to keep his existence a secret.

The aerial bombardments by the US and its allies focused on the Khorosan group, a unit said to be planning an imminent attack on the West, but Islamic State positions were also hit.

The only member of the Khorosan group who has been named and identified as a target in the strikes is Mushin Al Fadhl who was killed.

He was named as the leader of the Al Qaeda-affiliated cell – a radical terror collective specializing in intercepting Western jihadists on their arrival in Syria, and training them to carry out deadly bomb attacks on targets in their home nations.

Two intelligence sources told McClatchy that the defected official had either left the French military intelligence or France’s foreign intelligence agency, the General Directorate for External Security, (DGSE).

He is also believed to have fought in Afghanistan and in Syria with Al Qaeda where he is said to have assembled a group of about five men that was operating out of a mosque in Idlib.

The French operative is believed to be ‘still alive and kicking’ after the airstrikes, said one European intelligence official, who described him as ‘highly trained in Western intelligence trade-craft and explosives.’

They added that they are unsure whether he was a ‘sleeper’ agent or was radicalized during his time in the service. However they said it was an embarrassing situation for the French.

‘It sounds likely he started as French military and maybe because of an Arabic family background and appearance, language skills and a high degree of competency, he would then be loaned out to different aspects of the French services,’ one European official told the site.

Another said the situation represents an ‘epic nightmare that we have so far been spared’.

Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have joined the US in participating in the airstrikes against ISIS.

Although the RAF has started bombing targets in Iraq, the Prime Minister has ruled out sending ground troops.

The US launched air strikes in Iraq in August and Syria, in September.

IS has declared a so-called caliphate in the areas it has taken, and is also holding a number of hostages.

Although currently limited to Iraq and Syria, IS has promised to ‘break the borders’ of Jordan and Lebanon and to ‘free Palestine’.

Obama Lies And Americans Die

Obamacare

Written by Pat Henry on October 5, 2014

Imperial President Obama

Those of you who have not been asleep for the past six years are painfully familiar with the never ending stream of lies that emanate from this president. It would take an entire column to even begin to scratch the surface, but I will mention a few to jog your memories:

“You can keep your current health insurance plan”

“The AHCA will reduce premiums by $2500”

“Not even a smidgeon of corruption” – to Bill O’Reilly when asked about the IRS scandal

Benghazi violence was caused by an internet video & demonstrations – maintained despite the fact that the White House knew, and had been warned, that it was a terrorist attack, and in fact had a live TV feed from a drone during the attack.

“My budget will cut the deficit by $4 Trillion over 10 years”

I could go on forever, but you get the point. More recently he has been endangering the security of our nation with his lies. A current one is that ISIS/ISIL/IS/Khorosan Group or whatever Obama is calling them this week is a “JV” group that poses no threat to the Middle East, let alone America.

obama-border-is-open-378x257He famously told us in his second year of office that a fence on our Southern boarder was “nearly complete”. His own Department of Homeland Security, however, said it was only 5% completed. Recently we have seen illegals pouring into the country, and instead of turning them back, he is actually resettling them all over the country, making them somehow the financial responsibility of the US.

Reports from some of these sites confirm that these illegal aliens are bringing disease and pestilence with them. Naturally, as a human being, one has sympathy for these people and for the suffering peoples of nations all over the world, but where does it say that they have a “right” to come to this country and live off the few people who are still working?

Now, however, the illnesses and crime that are coming in with the illegals pales when compared with that of the ebola virus. Just weeks ago, Obama visited the CDC and assured us that the chance of ebola coming to this country was remote at best. He assured us that all precautions were being taken to ensure that the virus was contained in Africa, and that we would send a team of soldiers (?) over there to eradicate it. I guess they were going to shoot those pesky viruses. Well Pinocchio, ebola is here.

PC-Rider-590-LIBut what about all the measures we were taking? Turns out that the “measures” was a questionnaire at the airport. What happened was that a man who was completely knowledgeable of the fact that he had the disease, since everyone he lived with was sick or had died from it, decided to be less than candid on his questionnaire. He then took a plane, exposed the passengers, exposed people where he laid over in Brussels and at Dulles here in D.C., and then in Dallas.

He went to the hospital in Dallas, told them he was from Nigeria, told them he had been exposed to ebola, and that he had ebola-like symptoms, and they concluded that he had a simple case of the flu. They sent him home to infect his girlfriend and four children, who in turn very likely passed it on to their contacts.

He had such a fever that he literally soaked the bed, and such vomiting and bleeding that he couldn’t walk, necessitating calling 911 and exposing those people as well.

This man was the opposite of a hero. He knew he was sick, he knew that the virus had a huge mortality rate, and decided in an attempt to save himself that he would risk and probably kill untold numbers of people, perhaps beginning an epidemic or pandemic himself. He is laughingly being sought by the Liberian government for lying on his questionnaire, and will face prosecution if he lives that long.

Still, one can understand that a person who knows he will die if he doesn’t receive treatment (albeit there is none of the experimental drug remaining) can become desperate and do morally reprehensible things. What we cannot understand is how President Obama, ostensibly charged with the protection of the people of the United States, does nothing to stop the spread of this disease.

In an interview this morning on FOX News (which you can read here), Obama lackey CDC Director Tom Frieden told Brian Kilmeade, “I wish we could get to zero risk by sealing off the border. But we can’t.Eagle Really

cause of deathThe only way we are going to get to zero risk in this country is by controlling it in Africa. Until that happens, Americans may come back with Ebola. Other people who have a right to return or a visa to enter may come back. People will go to third countries and come from there. Sealing them off – first off won’t work.

Second off, it will backfire. Because if we can’t get help in there, then we’re not going to be able to stop the outbreak and ultimately we will end up at higher risk, not lower risk.”

I have heard some dumb statements from this administration, but this one has to top the list, and have the potential for killing the most people. Any soldier knows that in the case of a biological attack you identify the soldiers by their symptoms and then you isolate them.

This is a basic tenet of public health. In this case, the West African nations know that quarantine (isolation) is necessary to prevent the spread of disease and untold sickness and death, and are doing it themselves.

For us, the first thing we should have done, and should belatedly do, is to close the borders. Nobody  to or from West Africa. Would that absolutely prevent ebola from arriving here? Probably not, but it would sure go a long way. Frieden, however, is saying, “It won’t absolutely stop it, so we are not going to even try.”

gone madHuh? That reminds me of abstinence education used to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and thus abortions. Abstinence works 100% of the time, whereas other methods of birth control for multiple reasons do not. Some 56 million aborted babies would attest to that if they could. But abstinence education is not a part of the administration’s plan for this problem, because controlling people’s sexual drives is not part of the liberal agenda. It is, in fact, anathema to it. So they don’t try it.

Obama will not stop flights to and from West Africa, and will not close the borders, because like abstinence education, it is not part of the liberal agenda. Open borders and free influx of anyone who decides they want to come to America is a keynote of the Obama presidency, from which he has backed off only slightly recently, temporarily pocketing his pen and phone until after the November elections.

Any idea the public might get that something could be accomplished by closing the borders would jeopardize his amnesty plans, and that cannot be allowed to happen. So, as with the problem with illegal immigration, he will not try closing the borders.

The lack of a plan to combat ebola is as striking as his lack of a plan to combat militant jihadi Islam. The only existing plan, it would appear, is to pretend that the threat does not exist. These responses, or lack of responses, are simply a part of the political correctness that enshrouds liberals, with Obama as their poster boy.

Their response to anything depends entirely on how that response fits into their agenda and how they think it will affect the welfare of the democrat party. For this administration, open borders for more democrat voters trumps public health and possible the worst pandemic in history.

BARACK OBAMA’S MISDEEDS: Incompetence or Intent?

Obamacare

Written by Michael Cummings on October 3, 2014

http://clashdaily.com/2014/10/barack-obamas-misdeeds-incompetance-intent/

Imperial President ObamaAt what point does our ascription go from incompetence to intent? In other words, is Barack Obama one of the most feckless, ineffective leaders in United States history, or are his actions — particularly on foreign policy — deliberate?

Many others like Bill Whittle have posed this question, but its answer is increasingly more troubling.

Let’s begin with the scandal known as Fast and Furious, which was purportedly an attempt by the Obama administration — under the guise of taking strong measures to reduce gun-related crime surrounding our southern border — to link gun deaths to firearms brought from the US. Obama and outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder seemed to have wanted an excuse to enact anti-2nd Amendment rules across the country, but this plan didn’t go well.

Most Americans would like to think justice might prevail at least for the slain border patrol agent Brian Terry and ICE agent Jaime Zapata, but the scandal remains locked in various litigation cases. We know of Obama’s dislike for guns but have no way of proving Obama knew of this DOJ program, so for now we’ll go Imperial Islamic President Obamafor incompetence.

Then there is Obamacare which, unlike Obama’s Democrat predecessor Bill Clinton, actually made it into a bill and was signed into law. Many would call this an achievement in competence, but let’s turn our attention to its actual implementation since this is really what matters beyond the gates of Capitol Hill. A mere Web site that shouldn’t cost more than a few million — but let’s bump it up to $20MM due to the size of our populace and massive regulatory climate — actually cost the American taxpayer about $1 Billion. That money went mostly to Obama’s cronies. I’m going with deliberately, competently, corrupt.

While it’s true Osama Bin Laden is no longer with us, what concerns me more about the raid on the former cave dweller and guest of Pakistan is that Barack Obama and Joe Biden revealed the details of the SEAL team responsible for dispatching Bin Laden. To sound important and have something meaningful come out of his mouth, Biden revealed the Bin Laden raid was carried out by members of Navy SEAL Team 6. Just over three months after Bin Laden was killed, all twenty-two SEALs aboard a Chinook flying unaccompanied in Afghanistan were killed. Multiple questions remain unanswered including the helicopter’s missing black box, unapproved body cremations, and so on. That our SEALs were killed in such a manner is not incompetence.

Before a week ago, has anyone heard of the Khorosan Group? No? That’s because, as Andy McCarthy put it, the group isn’t the pack of terrorist ninjas the Obama administration is making it out to be:

There is a reason that no one had heard of such a group until a nanosecond ago, when the “Khorosan Group” suddenly went from anonymity to the “imminent threat” that became the rationale for an emergency air war there was supposedly no time to ask Congress to authorize.

You haven’t heard of the Khorosan Group because there isn’t one. It is a name the administration came up with, calculating that Khorosan — the –Iranian–Afghan border region — had sufficient connection to jihadist lore that no one would call the president on it.

We’re led to believe this group is a greater threat than the Islamic State, which is why Obama just had to act without congressional authorization — but we have proof Obama created this group virtually out of thin air. Oh, what must it be like to have the major media networks right in your pocket! All the praise, ZERO accountability. Can anyone not call this intent?

My opening question has two answers: Yes, Barack Obama and his administration are incompetent in matters requiring competence, and this fact has lead to unnecessary economic destruction and, most importantly, the death of Americans. And although in a previous column I made the case that motivation behind an act is of lesser importance than the act itself, the beliefs and values behind Obama’s actions should be of grave concern for the United States.

With this last nugget, let’s see if you think Obama’s heart is in the right place. In a speech before the UN General Assembly last week, Mr. President of The United States quoted Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, regarding the Islamic State: “Look at the new Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies—Sheikh bin Bayyah described its purpose: ‘We must declare war on war, so the outcome will be peace upon peace,’”

While you ponder this quote, keep in mind it wasn’t the first time Obama praised this Islamic dirtbag. I say dirtbag because Sheikh Bin Bayyah has called for the killing of American soldiers

Barack Obama’s administration is replete with both incompetence and malicious intent. I pray we survive to the end of his disastrous rein.

Alan Henning made this statement in the video before his death:

“Hi I’m Alan Henning. Because of our parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic State, I as a member of the British public, will now pay the price for that decision.”

Alan had gone to Syria to “help his Muslim friends.”

According, to ISIS accounts, the terror group sent and audio message to Henning’s wife of her husband pleading for his life.

Barbara Henning, his wife, released her own plea for his safety.

But it was to no avail.

ISIS released video of the beheading of Alan Henning today.

The terror group promises to behead former US Army Ranger Peter Kassig next.

President Bush Predicts the Future: July 12, 2007

Bush-Press-Conference_3_1

George W. Bush has been out of office for a while now and history is a funny thing, in that we can look back and see if people could predict the future – were they solid leaders? Can you fathom what people – even on the lunatic left – will be writing about the years 2008 – 2016?

Of course they’ll still be blaming Bush and The Tea Party, but Barack Obama will not be able to elude history any more than any feckless, left-wing incompetent.

The latest is that President Obama doesn’t show up to most intelligence briefings, then goes on “60 Minutes” and blames the intelligence community for the abject disaster of his Middle East strategy.

I don’t know about you, but if I were the President I wouldn’t be throwing James Clapper under the bus.

clapperThis Clapper guy has connections and probably most of your conversations on a hard drive most likely at arm’s length.

By the way, can we finally admit we’ve elected someone based solely on the color of their skin? I speak of course, of John Boehner: The first Orange Speaker of the House. We also have the first Black President, even though Bill Clinton was the first black President.

I never got what that meant, but I love the State of the Union speeches now because you have the first Black President and just behind him are what looks like that dummy from Jeff Dunham’s act and on the other side perhaps the father of a cast member from “Jersey Shore.” Orange is the new black, I hear.

Anywhoozer, I wanted to take a quick look back at 2007, just before Black Jesus came into office to heal the nation and bring ‘hope & change’ into my life. If you’re like me, you hate the word, ‘hope.’ It reminds me of a little girl who ‘hopes’ the tooth fairy shows up and leaves her a dime.Dupe and Chains

You don’t ‘hope’ things get better. You don’t wish for ‘change’. You go out and get things done, you bungling wannabe.

So enough chit-chat, what was George W. Bush saying back in 2007, you ask?

Here you go: Hat tip: AIDD

President Bush Press Conference On Iraq, July 12, 2007 (excerpts)

THE PRESIDENT: “As President, my most solemn responsibility is to keep the American people safe. So on my orders, good men and women are now fighting the terrorists on the front lines in Iraq. I’ve given our troops in Iraq clear objectives. And as they risk their lives to achieve these objectives, they need to know they have the unwavering support from the Commander-in-Chief, and they do. And they need the enemy to know that America is not going to back down.’

“I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to see the day when our brave servicemen and women can start coming home. If we increase our support at this crucial moment we can hasten the day our troops begin coming home. The real debate over Iraq is between those who think the fight is lost or not worth the cost, and those that believe the fight can be won and that, as difficult as the fight is, the cost of defeat would be far higher.’

“When we start drawing down our forces in Iraq it will be because our military commanders say the conditions on the ground are right, not because pollsters say it will be good politics.’

“I know some in Washington would like us to start leaving Iraq now. To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region, and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous…”

Heard enough? No you haven’t:

Imperial President ObamaPresident Obama on “60 Minutes”:

“Essentially what happened with ISIL was that you had al-Qaeda in Iraq, which was a vicious group, but our Marines were able to quash with the help of Sunni tribes. They went back underground. But over the past couple of years, during the chaos of the Syrian civil war, where essentially you have huge swaths of the country that are completely ungoverned, they were able to reconstitute themselves and take advantage of that chaos,” he said. “And so this became ground zero for jihadists around the world.”

Kind of sounds like he’s saying G.W. Bush was right all along? Isn’t this what he was warning about back in 2007? Didn’t we have an entire 2008 presidential campaign debating this?

Meanwhile, CUT TO: The current State of the Nation’s leader:

Hat Tip Breitbart:

A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.

The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.Briefing-NRD-600-wLogo

The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” said Obama.

Exhausted-NRD-600-w-logoAccording to Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, members of the Defense establishment were “flabbergasted” by Obama’s attempt to shift blame.

“Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting,” a former senior Pentagon official “who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq” told the Daily Beast.

On Monday, others in the intelligence community similarly blasted Obama and said he’s shown longstanding disinterest in receiving live, in-person PDBs that allow the Commander-in-Chief the chance for critical followup, feedback, questions, and the challenging of flawed intelligence assumptions. “It’s pretty well-known that the president hasn’t taken in-person intelligence briefings with any regularity since the early days of 2009,” an Obama national security staffer told the Daily Mail on Monday. “He gets them in writing.”Marthas-Fiddler

The Obama security staffer said the president’s PDBs have contained detailed threat warnings about the Islamic State dating back to before the 2012 presidential election.Eye-balling-590-LI

I say that the Obama Administration is like having food poisoning. It’s too late to throw up, so we just have to wait until the poison makes it’s way through our system and into the toilet.

‘Master Faith’ or ‘Master Race’?

Obamacare

Tad CronnSeptember 30, 2014

Read more at http://joeforamerica.com/2014/09/master-faith-master-race/

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday warned the United Nations that militant Islam’s desire to take over the world is reminiscent of the Nazis’ goals in WWII.

“Militant Islam’s mission to dominate the world seems mad,” Netanyahu said. “But so too did the global ambitions of another fanatic ideology that swept into power eight decades ago. The Nazis believed in a master race; militant Islamists believe in a master faith. They just disagree who among them will be the master of the master faith — that’s what they truly disagree on. Therefore the question before us is whether militant Islam will have the power to realize its unbridled ambitions.”

Master Faith

Imperial Islamic President ObamaGive the man points for calling a spade a spade.

Give him some sympathy for having to say it in front of the U.N., one of the most anti-Israel groups around.

It’s not an idle comparison between modern Islamists and the Nazis, particularly when you start digging into the history of the Muslim Brotherhood, the umbrella group for most of the terrorists in the Muslim world.

A campaign led by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini, in the late 1930s against the Jews was sparked by Jewish immigration in the region of Palestine. Al-Husseini, who was an admirer of Hitler, helped establish the Brotherhood as a jihadist organization, growing membership from 800 members to more than 200,000 in a couple of years.

Ties between the Nazis and the Muslim Brotherhood became quite close, with the Brotherhood serving as the Nazis’ right arm in the Mideast. In 1938, Heinrich Himmler sent this telegram message:

To the Grand Mufti: The National Socialist movement of Greater Germany has, since its inception, inscribed upon its flag the fight against the world Jewry. It has therefore followed with particular sympathy the struggle of freedom-loving Arabs, especially in Palestine, against Jewish interlopers. In the recognition of this enemy and of the common struggle against it lies the firm foundation of the natural alliance that exists between the National Socialist Greater Germany and the freedom-loving Muslims of the whole world. In this spirit I am sending you on the anniversary of the infamous Balfour declaration my hearty greetings and wishes for the successful pursuit of your struggle until the final victory. Signed: Reichsfuehrer S.S. Heinrich Himmler

Al-Husseini later wrote in his memoirs that he asked Hitler to give a commission to the Brotherhood “to allow us to solve the Jewish problem in a manner befitting our national and racial aspirations and according to the scientific methods innovated by Germany in the handling of its Jews. The answer I got from the Fuehrer was: ‘The Jews are yours.’”

And so it continues today.

The Allies may have defeated the Nazis in World War II, but in many ways, they failed to defeat Nazism, and it is rising again around the world in various forms, from the Golden Dawn in Greece, to ISIS in Iraq, to a surge in anti-Semitic sentiment in the U.S. and Europe.

During his speech at the U.N., Netanyahu singled out Iran as one of the greatest threats to the rest of the world.

“For 35 years,” Netanyahu said, “Iran has relentlessly pursued the global mission set forth by its founding ruler, Ayatollah Khomeini in these words. ‘We will export our revolution to the entire world until the cry “there is no god but Allah” will echo throughout the world over.’  And ever since, the regime’s brutal enforcers, Iran’s revolutionary guards, have done exactly that. Listen to the current commander, General Muhammed. He clearly stated this goal. He said, ‘Our Imam did not limit the revolution to this country, but to prepare the way for an Islamic world government.’”

As ISIS demonstrates, terrorism is growing more sophisticated about ways of spreading its message. Through social media on the Internet, the same barbarians who behead, crucify and slaughter their enemies both infidel and Muslim, and who kidnap, torture, rape and enslave women are able to draw thousands of recruits from countries that are supposed to be civilized.

We shouldn’t underestimate the appeal of evil. As Pope Francis said just the other day, the devil makes evil look good in order to seduce mankind.

It’s hard to argue against that when you see so many allegedly educated Americans lining up with Islamists against Israel and, ultimately, against themselves.America Needs toWake Up

Khorosan Group – just core al-Qaeda by another name?

Obamacare

Imperial President ObamaYou know, the core al-Qaeda that supposedly was decimated.

Do we really need to invent new terror groups to justify America’s actions in the Middle East? Is the Obama administration so reluctant to admit that al-Qaeda still exists?

If you ask Andrew C. McCarthy of National Review, the answer to both of those questions is yes:

The Khorosan Group Does Not Exist

We’re being had. Again.

For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, Imperial Islamic President Obamamoderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name.

Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual worldview, which holds that empowering Islamic supremacists is the path to security and stability. Yet even as war intensifies in Iraq and Syria — even as jihadists continue advancing, continue killing and capturing hapless opposition forces on the ground despite Obama’s futile air raids — the president won’t let go of the charade.

Hence, Obama gives us the Khorosan Group.

The who?

There is a reason that no one had heard of such a group until a nanosecond ago, when the “Khorosan Group” suddenly went from anonymity to the “imminent threat” that became the rationale for an emergency air war there was supposedly no time to ask Congress to authorize.

You haven’t heard of the Khorosan Group because there isn’t one. It is a name the administration came up with, calculating that Khorosan — the –Iranian–Afghan border region — had sufficient connection to jihadist lore that no one would call the president on it.

The “Khorosan Group” is al-Qaeda.

Do yourself a favor and read the whole thing.

As we all know, the Obama administration loves to fuss with nomenclature.

Shortly after Obama assumed office, the War on Terror became an “Overseas Contingency Operation.”

Acts of domestic Islamic terrorism are now called acts of “workplace violence.”

And Al Qaeda, the one Obama claimed we decimated, is now apparently called the Khorosan Group.

Colonel Allen West isn’t buying any of it:

Khorosan group: Obama’s completely bogus invention. You see, Obama can’t bring himself to admit he was wrong — the essence of a self-absorbed narcissist — and even worse, his loyal kool-aid drinking acolytes can’t either. Obama declared two years ago that “Osama bin Laden is dead and al-Qaida has been decimated and on the run.” Well, as ESPN College Gameday commentator Lee Corso would say, “Not so fast my friend” — with his trusted pencil.

What was once al-Qaida in Iraq is indeed now ISIS. And the group Jabhat al-Nusra was created in Syria and is the representation of al-Qaida in Syria. So the Obama administration has basically created a new “boogeyman” to deceive the American people from understanding that al-Qaida is thriving — clearly not decimated.

Imperial Islamic President ObamaThe Islamic State group is allegedly closing in on Baghdad, according to a report from a vicar at Iraq’s only Anglican church that claims the jihadists formerly known as ISIS are roughly one mile away from the Iraqi capital. Airstrikes against ISIS targets were supposed to stop the group from taking Baghdad.

“The Islamic State are now less than 2km (1.2 miles) away from entering Baghdad. They said it could never happen and now it almost has,” Canon Andrew White of the Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East, a British-based charity that supports Iraq’s only Anglican church in Baghdad, said on his Facebook page early Monday morning. “Obama says he overestimated what the Iraqi Army could do. Well, you only need to be here a very short while to know they can do very, very little.”

The Christian aid group was referring to the U.S. president’s interview Sunday night on “60 Minutes,” the CBS news magazine show, where Obama conceded that his administration underestimated the ascendancy of ISIS. More than 1,000 Iraqi troops were reportedly killed Sunday in clashes with ISIS about 10 miles outside of Baghdad.

The advance by ISIS toward Baghdad shows that the group isn’t weakening despite U.S.-led airstrikes in Iraq. ISIS executed 300 Iraqi soldiers last week during their march toward the Iraqi capital and attempted to break into a prison in northern Baghdad.

“This attack is very significant. It is the first infantry-like, complex, and penetrating attack in Baghdad city by ISIS since the fall of Mosul in June of this year,” the Washington-based nonprofit Institute for the Study of War wrote on its website, referring to Iraq’s second-largest city, which is in the Islamic State’s hands. “ISIS likely carried out the attack to release some of the pressure it is facing as a result of the recent U.S. air campaign targeting its positions. The attack also signifies that, despite the heightened defenses of Baghdad in the aftermath of the fall of Mosul, ISIS is still able to carry out attacks in an area where it is unlikely to have active sleeper cells.”

U.S.-led airstrikes against ISIS in Iraq and Syria have come under criticism over their effectiveness. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry defended the military action last week in a CNN interview. Kerry claimed “Baghdad could have fallen” if it weren’t for the airstrikes, which have predominantly been launched in the northern part of Iraq.

Russia threatens to retaliate against U.S. military

Russian Air Force Sukhoi Su-34TEL AVIV – Russia has delivered a behind-the-scenes threat to retaliate if airstrikes carried out by the U.S. or its allies target the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Middle Eastern security officials told WND.

The security officials said Russia complained Sunday in quiet talks with United Nations representatives that the Obama administration’s current aerial campaign against Islamic State fighters in Syria is a violation of international agreements regarding control of Syrian airspace.

The officials said Russia warned it could potentially retaliate if U.S. or Arab airstrikes go beyond targeting Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, and instead bomb any Syrian regime targets.

Imperial Islamic President ObamaThe officials told WND they do not have any information about the seriousness of the Russian threat or whether Moscow meant it would retaliate directly or aid Assad’s air force in a military response.

The officials said Russian diplomats asserted terms regarding Syrian airspace were agreed upon last September as part of a sweeping deal to disarm Syria’s arsenal of chemical weapons by the middle of 2014.

At the time, the international community feared Assad could target chemical weapons inspectors acting in Syria. That fear in part lead to a deal in which Moscow says it was provided with significant responsibility over the skies of Syria, purportedly to insure against Assad’s air force acting against the international disarmament effort.

The officials further said that both the Russia and Iranian militaries are on heightened alert amid the ongoing situation in Syria.

On Saturday, U.S.-led coalition warplanes for the first time reportedly struck ISIS targets in Syria near the Turkish border as well as positions in the country’s east, according to activists and a Kurdish officials speaking to the Associated Press.

Nawaf Khalil, a spokesman for Syria’s Kurdish Democratic Union Party, or PYD, told the AP the strikes targeted Islamic State positions near the Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani.

U.S.-coalition strikes also reportedly targeted a local ISIS headquarters in the northern Syrian town of Tel Abyad along the Turkish border, setting an oil refinery ablaze.

“Our building was shaking and we saw fire, some 60 meters (65 yards) high, coming from the refinery,” local businessman Mehmet Ozer told Time Magazine.

Time reported the strikes were also confirmed by the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and were reported by Turkey’s Dogan news agency.

Rand Paul wants values ‘revival’

Obamacare

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/219007-paul-weds-libertarianism-faith-in-values-voters-speech

By Cameron Joseph

September 26, 2014, 12:07 pm

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) sought to merge his libertarian-leaning philosophy with social conservative beliefs on Friday, telling the religious crowd at If my peoplethe Values Voters summit that the two go hand-in-hand.

“Where there is liberty there is always plenty of space for God,” Paul concluded at the end of a speech at times punchy and professorial that touched on abortion, foreign policy and religious liberty.

The likely 2016 presidential candidate sought to convince a socially conservative crowd wary of libertarians that he’s one of them, calling for a “revival” of cultural values.

What we need is something more than laws. We need something that civilizes a nation, and that is virtue,” he said. “What America really needs is a revival.”

The senator used that philosophy to defend his opposition to an intervention-first foreign policy mentality.

“Our foreign policy has too often accepted war instead of peace and intervention instead of strength, leading to unintended consequences,” he said before arguing against arming Syrian rebels, a decision backed by more interventionist lawmakers in both parties.

“One group of these so-called moderate rebels has stated publicly that when they’re done with [President Bashar] Assad, next they’re coming for Israel,” he said.

“You and I must stand with Christians in the Middle East … but that does not necessarily mean war and that certainly doesn’t mean arming both sides in every conflict,” he said to laughs from the crowd.

He also used the crowd’s fury at oppression of Christians abroad, saying that until Asia Bibi, a Christian sitting in prison in Pakistan, “is freed, Christian PersecutionPakistan should not receive a penny of U.S. aid.”

Paul also tackled abortion, a tricky issue for the senator following seemingly ambivalent comments earlier this year about Roe v. Wade.

“The debate isn’t really about whether government has a role in protecting life. The debate really hinges on when life begins,” the ophthalmologist told the crowd. “Don’t tell me that 5- and 6-pound babies have no rights simply because they’re not yet born.”

Speaking shortly after fellow Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who stalked the stage like a televangelist to huge cheers from the crowd, Paul stayed steady at the podium, approaching the speech more like a professor.

Imperial President ObamaBut he did take some opportunities to throw red meat to the crowd, saying President Obama “acts like he’s a king” and calling his announcements of executive orders “the exclamations of an autocrat.”

Six weeks after being declared dead, Canadian Jihadi Farah Mohamed Shirdon resurfaces with threats of NY terror attack

Obamacare

Imperial Islamic President ObamaSix weeks after he was declared dead, a Canadian in the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham resurfaced on video Thursday, vowing the terrorist group was preparing to bomb New York and fly its flag over the White House.

Interviewed from Iraq by the U.S. website Vice.com, Farah Mohamed Shirdon, a former Calgary movie theatre employee, appeared erratic and became increasingly enraged as he dished out threats and claimed God was on his side.

“God willing, we will make some attacks in New York soon, a lot of brothers are mobilizing there right now in the West, thanks to Allah,” he said. Smiling, he added they were “mobilizing for a brilliant attack, my friend.”

ISIS was conducting beheadings because “you attack one of us, we will attack one of you,” he said, adding, “We will stop when we behead the kuffar [disbelievers] and when we turn his children into our slaves.”

But as if to undermine his boasts, he said he was under attack “day and night” and would have to go, apparently because of yet another assault. Calling himself Abu Usamah, Mr. Shirdon was eulogized online by fellow terrorists in August but later returned to Twitter to say he had been injured but was alive.

He is one of several Somali-Canadians thought to have joined ISIS, prompting the Canadian Somali Congress’s Western branch to appeal for government help. A Hamilton, Ont. man presumed dead in ISIS was also a Somali-Canadian.

“No one recruited me. Actually no one spoke a single word to me. All I did, I opened the newspaper, I read the Koran. Very easy,” he said. Five days before he left, Canadian authorities interviewed him, he claimed. “All their intelligence workers are imbeciles,” he said, although he then named the FBI before correcting that it was the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.

The nephew of the former Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Shirdon has made grandiose threats before. After arriving in Iraq, he appeared in an ISIS video in which he burned his passport and threatened Canada and the U.S.

The departure of dozens of Canadian extremists to Syria and Iraq has prompted a crackdown by Ottawa, which has begun cancelling their passports, laying criminal charges and tracking them in case they attempt to return to Canada.

The government added ISIS to its list of outlawed terrorist organizations on Wednesday. The move makes it simpler to investigate, prosecute and deport those who have joined the group or who are otherwise supporting it.

‘Moderate’ US Armed Syrian Rebels Slam Obama’s Airstrikes On Extremists

The so called ‘moderate’ rebels in Syria who have received arms and training from the US, have condemned the US led airstrikes on ISIS extremists, underscoring the fact that their fight is against the Syrian government, not the terrorists the Obama administration claims it is funding them to fight.

The US-backed Harakat Hazm rebel group in Syria, which consists of an estimated 7000 fighters who have been given US weapons, slammed the US led airstrikes Tuesday, according to reports.

“The sole beneficiary of this foreign interference in Syria is the [President Bashar] Assad regime, especially in the absence of any real strategy to topple him,” a statement posted by the group on Twitter reads. The rebels described the airstrikes as “an attack on national sovereignty that undermines the Syrian revolution.”The Fight

A further statement released on the group’s Facebook page, claims that the “continuation of singular decision making in an effort to win international public opinion, will not succeed in uprooting extremism but encourages its growth.”

The statement argues that the best course of action for the US would be to arm “the Free Syrian Army without condition [otherwise] the result will be failure and destruction that reach the whole region.”The Fight

The Free Syrian Army, which was warned in advance by the Obama administration of the imminent airstrikes, has vowed to topple the Assad regime at any cost. Many observers have noted that their goal is not to fight against Islamic extremists. The US already has underway a new covert program, controlled by the CIA, arming the FSA with fresh weapons, Syrian opposition figures revealed this week. The Fight

The Harakat Hazm group issued its statement as the US and its regional allies – Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates – are preparing further attacks.

The ‘moderate’ group is thought to have already received 20 TOW anti-tank missiles this year from a “Western source,” according to rebel officials. In addition, the group was cited just last week by US Secretary of State John Kerry as possible recipients for American arms and combat instructors slated under the $500 million program approved by Obama.

Further reports indicate that the head of another rebel group known as the Fifth Legion of the Free Syrian Army tacitly welcomed the US airstrikes but made it clear that they must also be targeted at “the source of terrorism: the Assad regime.”The Fight

Although it claims the targets were a shadowy extremist group called Khorasan, the airstrikes coordinated by the Pentagon were initially aimed at fighters affiliated with the Nusra Front, an al Qaeda affiliate in Syria which has been battling the Assad regime. There is a general fear on the ground in Syria that targeting the Nusra Front could increase opposition to US action – essentially breeding further extremism.

“Striking the Nusra Front will turn it into a real enemy of all the other forces” such as the Western-backed Free Syrian Army, said Mohammad al-Salloum, an activist from Idlib previously held hostage by Islamic State and currently based across the border in neighboring Turkey.

“It’s more dangerous than Islamic State because it’s present in every area controlled by the opposition,” he said, explaining that the Nusra Front and its allied factions are the dominant force in non-Islamic State territories in Syria, and have more power and influence than the moderate groups backed by the US.

“It is worrying that the declared target is ISIS but that the actual execution targets some FSA brigades,” Free Syrian Army commander Ahmad Rahhal also said, referring to some groups fighting alongside the FSA.The Fight

In a statement provided to Reuters, another moderate rebel commander linked with the FSA said many rebels are worried that the US led campaign against ISIS could backfire.

“There is a fear that the regime will exploit a military vacuum in areas of [ISIS] control to realize military advances,” the commander in western Syria said. “This will make the alliance appear to the people as the savior of the Assad regime.”The Fight

This notion was reiterated by Faisal al-Kasim, a Syrian-born broadcaster with the Al Jazeera network, who tweeted “What more can Bashar al-Assad ask for? The U.S. planes targeted first and foremost the strong factions that are fighting him.The Fight

Meanwhile, the President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Hadi al-Bahra, himself a FSA commander, claimed at a UN press conference Monday that “Assad is the root cause of ISIS”. He alleged that Assad has become a tactical battle-field ally of ISIS, going after FSA positions while they are under attack from the extremist group.

Al-Bahra said, “while FSA were in battles with ISIS, Assad’s planes were dropping bombs on our positions and left ISIS formations alone,” thus helping ISIS defeat the FSA in those battles.left

It is therefore not beyond the realms of possibility to imagine the US claiming that Assad and ISIS may be sharing battlefield-intelligence, thus providing a pretext to target Syrian government forces as well as ISIS extremists. The Fight

America Needs toWake Up

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – Iraq’s prime minister said Thursday that captive Islamic State militants told his intelligence agents of an alleged plot to attack subways in the United States and Paris, France.

11Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said he was told of the purported plot by officials in Baghdad, and that it was the work of foreign fighters who had joined the Islamic State group in Iraqi, including French and U.S. nationals. Al-Abadi’s assertion has not be independently confirmed by U.S. government intelligence.

Asked if the attacks were imminent, he said, “I’m not sure.” Asked if the attacks had been thwarted, he said, “No, it has not been disrupted yet— this is a network.”

“Today, while I’m here I’m receiving accurate reports from Baghdad that there were arrests of a few elements and there were networks from inside Iraq to have attacks — on metros of Paris and U.S.,” al-Abadi said, speaking in English. “They are not Iraqis. Some of them are French, some of them are Americans. But they are in Iraq.”BEST remembering 911

Imperial Islamic President ObamaAl-Abadi said the United States had been alerted. He declined to give the location in the U.S. where such an attack might occur.

He made the remarks at a meeting with journalists on the sidelines of a gathering of world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly.

A senior Obama administration official told the Associated Press no one in the U.S. government is aware of such a plot, adding that the claim was never brought up in meetings with Iraqi officials this week in New York. President Barack Obama met with al-Abadi Wednesday.

The administration official was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly by name and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Congressman Peter King, member of the Homeland Security Commission, told CBS 2 that he has not seen evidence of an imminent threat against the United States.

“I have been aware that there are plots that ISIS is planning overseas against other countries, quite honestly, I have not been advised of this — and I have been checking this out — I don’t believe that the U.S. government has been advised of an imminent plot,” King said.

“Anything involving ISIS is taken seriously and there is absolutely no evidence at all that there’s any validity to what the prime minister said,” King told 1010 WINS.

“It could be speculation in Iraq, it could be conversations where they were talking about it as aspirational, but as far as it being in motion I don’t believe it is,” King added.

King said the nation must be on guard, but that the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies have not put out any advisories of an imminent threat against the U.S.

“If they thought it was imminent they would be contacting New York State, New York City as soon as possible because when you’re talking about a subway attack obviously New York is always what first comes to mind,” King said. “We have at least 5,000 entrances and exits to train stations in New York, millions of commuters everyday, millions of riders on the trains, so they would be first notified.”

The FBI is looking into the alleged plot.

“We’re going to have to grill down and get as much information as possible, of course. We’ve had plots against the subways in New York and thankfully they haven’t come to fruition, but it’s something that we can’t totally discount,” Former New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly told 1010 WINS.

Kelly told 1010 WINS the way the information of the alleged plot came out is unusual.

“I think this report took the intelligence community by surprise and they’re scrambling now to see if there’s anything to it, how credible it is. This was not an item that had previously been discussed or on their agenda, certainly not in a recent path,” he said.

“We are aware of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s statements and are in contact with our law enforcement and intelligence community partners as we assess the validity of this threat,” FBI Assistant Director-in-Charge George Venizelos said in a statement. “The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, along with the New York City Police Department, remain committed to protecting this city.”

The NYPD released a statement saying, “We are aware of the Iraqi Prime Minister’s statements and we are in close contact with the FBI and other federal partners as we assess this particular threat stream. New York City normally operates at a heightened level of security and we adjust that posture daily based on our evaluation of information as we receive it.”

A spokesperson for Mayor Bill de Blasio’s office released a statement saying that “the city takes any threat seriously.”Human bomb

At a news conference outside the Union Square subway station Thursday afternoon, de Blasio worked to calm the nerves of New Yorkers after news of the alleged plot, clarifying that it had “some focus on subways.”

“We are convinced that New Yorkers are safe. We are convinced that people should go about our normal routine. Terrorists want us to live in fear. We refuse to live in fear,” he said.

The mayor also stressed the importance of the subway system’s “see something, say something” motto.

“The people of this city have an important role to play. The phrase, ‘when you see something, say something’ is not an empty phrase. It is real,” de Blasio said.

Joining de Blasio at the news conference, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton echoed the mayor’s statements.

“At this time, the people of this city should feel very comfortable and secure moving through the subways,” he said.

Bratton said New Yorkers would see stepped up security across the city and in all subway stations as a precaution.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said New York is acting with the “utmost precaution.”

“Our administration has been coordinating at a high level with local, state and federal partners. I want to assure the people of New York that we are monitoring these reports closely and are in close communication with officials in Washington,” Cuomo stated. “Public safety is paramount, and we are doing everything necessary to protect New Yorkers.”lies

The news comes a day after the governors of New York and New Jersey came together to announce a substantial increase in security at local bridges, tunnels, airports and mass transit hubs, including Penn Station and Grand Central Station.

Cuomo and Gov. Chris Christie said the ramped up security was not a result of any particular new intelligence.

It is unclear if that increase in security is related to the announcement made by Al-Abadi Thursday, CBS 2’s Andrea Grymes reported.

ISIS PASSPORTSThe Islamic State extremists’ blitz in Iraq and Syria prompted the United State to launch airstrikes in Iraq last month, to aid Kurdish forces who were battling the militants and to protect religious minorities.

In addition to the brutality Islamic State has visited on the people in Iraq and Syria, western leaders have voiced concern that the group would move its terror operations outside the region.

This week, the U.S. and five allied Arab states expanded the aerial campaign into Syria, where the militant group is battling President Bashar Assad’s forces as well as Western-backed rebels..

Is Obama’s ISIS Strategy Made to Fail?

Obamacare

Posted by  / Tuesday, September 23, 2014

brit hume isis strategy
Brit Hume: “So he came up with a strategy for ISIS’s eventual defeat, which is designed…to fail slowly…”

President Obama has come under fire not only from voters but from Congressmen and members of the media over his strategy—or lack thereof—toImperial Islamic President Obama roll back ISIS in the Middle East.

The U.S. has already escalated involvement in the region by initiating air strikes as part of a joint U.S.-Arab offensive against ISIS strongholds:

The U.S. and five Arab nations attacked the Islamic State group’s headquarters in eastern Syria in nighttime raids Monday using land- and sea-based U.S. aircraft as well as Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from two Navy ships in the Red Sea and the northern Persian Gulf.

American warplanes also carried out eight airstrikes to disrupt what the military described as “imminent attack plotting against the United States and Western interests” by a network of al-Qaida veterans “with significant explosives skills,” said Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

If what Dempsey says is true (and as blunt as he has been in his testimony and media hits, I tend to trust the veracity of what he’s saying,) these missions are a necessary part of protecting American interests both in the Middle East and on U.S. soil. What isn’t clear yet is how far Barack Obama will take these missions; he’s declared time and again that he won’t put boots back on the ground, but military officials and analysts are already asking questions about the possibility of doing so if airstrikes aren’t sufficient to eradicate the ISIS network.

One theory that pundits and academics are floating is troubling, but what’s more troubling than the theory itself is its plausibility. Brit Hume laid it out on Monday’s edition of Special Report with Bret Baier:

There is an intellectually respectable case to be made that the United States should do nothing, or next to nothing, to destroy the terrorist force known as ISIS. It goes something like this:

I don’t buy this whole argument, but I sense that President Obama does, and would have preferred to take no action against ISIS beyond some air strikes in Iraq. But he felt his hand was forced by the public’s outrage and alarm over those videotaped beheadings. So he came up with a strategy for ISIS’s eventual defeat, which is designed not to succeed so much as to fail slowly in a mission he doubts should even be undertaken.

hum

We know that Obama doesn’t want to be in the Middle East because he ignored the best advice of his military advisers when he pulled our troops out of Iraq. He decided unilaterally that leaving a “footprint” in the region was an unacceptable option. He chose to support the Assad regime in Syria, which escalated tension in the region.

More importantly, he knows that right now the only thing saving his foreign policy approval rating from bottoming out is the current show of force against ISIS, and that he needs to drag this out until something happens that will allow Democrats to reclaim the “strength through diplomacy” narrative that recent events have torn to pieces. All he has to do to make this happen is the bare minimum; and even if the situation devolves, he can still claim that Bush (BUSH! BUSH!) left him with the impossible task of gluing the Middle East back together.

For this president, achieving the bare minimum at the expense of our international presence may be the only strategy he’s capable of.

America Needs toWake Up

Imperial Islamic President ObamaThe Islamic State released an audio recording of spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani encouraging Muslims in America, Canada, France, and Australia to murder non-believers. Adnani is one of the most superior members in the terrorist group.

“If you can kill a disbelieving American or European — especially the spiteful and filthy French — or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State … kill him in any manner or way however it may be,” he said on the recording.

Adnani’s recording is the first time the jihadists called for any violence against countries who plan to use military action against the Islamic State in Iraq. President Barack Obama recently announced United States airstrikes will include Iraq and Syria and he will send 475 more military advisors to Iraq. He said the objective is to “degrade, and ultimately destroy, ISIL through a comprehensive and sustained counterterrorism strategy.”

Adnani also tells Muslims they do not need permission to kill any nonbeliever. He said Muslims are “’like predatory warriors’ who ‘face death bare chests.’” He also called Obama a “mule of the Jews” and Secretary of State John Kerry an “uncircumcised old geezer.” He encourages all supporters and members of Islamic State to be prepared “for the final campaign of the crusaders.” And if anyone does not recognize the Islamic State’s “caliphate” then they mock the Prophet Mohammad.

“O America, O allies of America, and O crusaders, know that the matter is more dangerous than you have imagined and greater than you have envisioned,” he said. “We have warned you that today we are in a new era, an era where the State, its soldiers, and its sons are leaders not slaves. Being killed – according to their account – is a victory. This is where the secret lies.”

He continued: “[F]ear not the swarms of planes, nor ballistic missiles, nor drones, nor satellites, nor battleships, nor weapons of mass destruction”.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper condemned the recording.

“ISIS represents a threat not just to stability in the Middle East, but to global security,” he said in a statement. “We will continue to work with allies to push back against this threat. Like our allies we will not be cowed by threats while innocent children, women, men and religious minorities live in fear of these terrorists.”

Australia is treating the recording as authentic and will take proper precautions.

“Australian agencies regard the statement issued today by ISIL calling for attacks against members of the international coalition, including Australians, as genuine,” said Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s spokeswoman. “ISIL will claim that our involvement in this international effort is the reason they are targeting us, but these people do not attack us for what we do, but for who we are and how we live.”

By Loveday Morris September 22 at 6:23 PM

BAGHDAD — The army base in Iraq’s western Anbar province had been under siege by Islamic State militants for a week, so when a convoy of armored Humvees rolled up at the gate, the Iraqi soldiers at Camp Saqlawiyah believed saviors had arrived.

But this was no rescue attempt. The vehicles were driven by militants on suicide missions, and within seconds on Sunday the base had become a bloody scene of multiple bombings.

On Monday, a day after the attack, five survivors — including three officers — said that between 300 and 500 soldiers were missing and believed to be dead, kidnapped or in hiding. Army officials said the numbers were far lower, leading to accusations that they were concealing the true toll.

If the survivors’ accounts are correct, it would make Sunday the most disastrous day for the Iraqi army since several divisions collapsed in the wake of the Islamic State’s capture of the northern city of Mosul amid its cross-country sweep in June.

In any case, the chaotic incident has highlighted shortcomings in an army that the United States has spent billions of dollars training and equipping, and it has further undermined the force’s reliability as a partner as President Obama expands airstrikes into provinces including Anbar.Battling ISIS 01 Battling ISIS 02 Battling ISIS 03 Battling ISIS 04 Battling ISIS 05  Battling ISIS 07 Battling ISIS 08 Battling ISIS 09 Battling ISIS 10 Battling ISIS 11 Battling ISIS 12 Battling ISIS 13 Battling ISIS 14 Battling ISIS 15 Battling ISIS 16 Battling ISIS 17 Battling ISIS 18 Battling ISIS 19 Battling ISIS 20 Battling ISIS 21 Battling ISIS 22 Battling ISIS 23 Battling ISIS 24 Battling ISIS 25 Battling ISIS 26 Battling ISIS 27

It has also heightened pressure on new Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, whose opponents have already seized on the incident to accuse him of a soft-handed approach to terrorists.

While U.S. aircraft have carried out strikes in support of Iraqi forces in other recent clashes, there was no indication that any American airstrikes were made against these Islamic State attackers, other than unconfirmed reports from Iraqi officials. Accounts released Sunday and Monday by U.S. Central Command made no mention of the overrun Iraqi base.

The lead-up to Sunday’s crisis began a week ago, when the last road to Camp Saqlawiyah, just north of insurgent-controlled Fallujah, was cut by Islamic State militants. One of two tanks that were among the vehicles guarding the road left to refuel, and the militants took the opportunity to attack those that remained, said a 9th Division soldier who was present and spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the news media.

The fall of the units protecting the supply route meant that the five battalions inside the base were completely besieged.

“There were no reinforcements, no food supplies, no medicine, no water, and then our ammunition began to run out,” said 1st Lt. Haider Majid, 28. “We called our leaders so many times. We called our commanders, we called members of parliament, but they just left us there to die.”

Soldiers said they sought help from Lt. Gen. Rashid Fleih, the head of Anbar Military Command. He told Iraq’s al-Sumaria news on Monday that the troops on the base were just complaining because they were trapped and “bored.”

Fleih said the army had delivered supplies while the base was under siege. But soldiers maintained that they received nothing, and thirst eventually forced them to dig a hole to dirty, salty water.

“Even if it was dangerous for helicopters, it was their duty to try to help us,” Majid said.

Survivors said they faced daily attacks during the week, including one using chlorine gas, a claim that was impossible to verify Monday. While some said colleagues had suffocated in the attack, Col. Ihab Hashem, the deputy commander of an 8th Division battalion, said canisters had fallen short of the base.

Attackers in disguise

The major assault came Sunday. Soldiers interviewed said army commanders had sent word via walkie-talkie that a rescue mission was on its way and had taken control of a nearby bridge.

Shortly afterward, Iraqi army armored vehicles and military trucks arrived, and the men inside were dressed in the uniforms of Iraqi counterterrorism forces, the surviving soldiers said.

“We thought this was the support we were promised was on the way,” said Capt. Ahmed Hussein of the 8th Division. “The first three Humvees were ahead of the rest with some military trucks. We just let them in.”

One Humvee exploded in the middle of the camp. The two others drove to the perimeter and detonated. The rest of the Islamic State convoy was held back at the entrance, where the survivors said the militants carried out several more suicide bombings as they tried to break in.

“I gathered my soldiers and said: ‘We are going to die anyway. Let’s try to get out,’ ” Hussein said, adding that he and about 400 other soldiers escaped under heavy fire in a convoy. Others were left behind.

Those who got away divided into three groups, eventually leaving their vehicles after some were hit by roadside bombs. They continued on foot, traversing nearly two miles of territory held by the Islamic State until they reached Camp Tariq, about four miles away.

“I was in the first group; there were about 150 soldiers in each,” Hussein said. “Only about half of each group made it.”

The rescue mission that the soldiers had been told was coming “100 percent failed,” he said. On the bridge that they were told had been secured, they found the remnants of that mission: burned army vehicles.

“No one knows how many people died,” said the 9th Division soldier, who spent days stranded in a house with 60 other soldiers. “We kept moving and never looked behind. Those who died, died. Those who were captured, were captured. We just ran for our lives.”

Hussein estimated that 250 soldiers died at Camp Saqlawiyah, and 100 to 150 are missing. Hashem put the number of dead and missing at 400 to 500.

But there were hopes that some might still make it back. A group of 13 has been in contact, according to Hashem, to say they are hiding in marshlands, another 13 in a grove of trees. He advised them to wait until the cover of night to try to make the rest of the journey.

Government’s response

The Iraqi Defense Ministry acknowledged Sunday that it had lost contact with some of its soldiers during the incident but did not say how many were missing. Fleih said that it was possible to “count them on one hand.”

“It looks like the Defense Ministry is trying to push the numbers down,” said Mithal al-Alusi, a member of the Iraqi parliament’s defense and security committee. “If we have lost people or not, this proves military structure and military strategy is not able to fight ISIS,” he said, using an acronym for the Islamic State.

He added: “Mosul they said was a surprise — what’s the excuse this time?”

Abadi, who also holds the position of commander in chief of the armed forces, issued a statement Monday saying army commanders would be interrogated on charges of negligence. The statement said the prime minister had ordered supplies to be delivered to the stranded soldiers four days ago.

For some soldiers, the incident was the latest — and last — in a series of humiliations. Hussein, for his part, said he would leave the army to join a Shiite militia.

“We don’t have any leadership,” he said. But for the militias, “their leadership is with them in the field; they look after their soldiers.”

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization has released a new video showing a brutal and barbaric beheading of American journalist Steven Sotloff, according to the Associated Press:
beheading

Sotloff has been in captivity in Syria since last summer. ISIS had threatened to kill him next, following the barbaric beheading of fellow American journalist James Foley, less than two weeks ago.

ABC News  reported:

In the video, which appeared online today, Sotloff addresses the camera, saying, “I’m sure you know exactly who I am by now and why I am appearing.”

“Obama, your foreign policy of intervention in Iraq was supposed to be for preservation of American lives and interests, so why is it that I am paying the price of your interference with my life?” the journalist says calmly as the black clad militant holds a knife casually at his side.

Later the video then cuts to the militant who says that as long as U.S. missiles “continue to strike our people, our knife will continue to strike the necks of your people.”

Just last week, the Mother of Steven Sotloff spoke out in a video addressed to ISIS, saying, “Steven is a journalist who traveled to the Middle East to cover the suffering of Muslims at the hands of tyrants.”

High-level federal law enforcement, intelligence and other sources have confirmed to Judicial Watch that a warning bulletin for an imminent terrorist attack on the border has been issued.  Agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies have all been placed on alert and instructed to aggressively work all possible leads and sources concerning this imminent terrorist threat.

Specifically, Judicial Watch sources reveal that the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) is confirmed to now be operating in Juarez, a famously crime-infested narcotics hotbed situated across from El Paso, Texas. Violent crimes are so rampant in Juarez that the U.S. State Department has issued a number of travel warnings Obama-muslim-2-610x400for anyone planning to go there. The last one was issued just a few days ago.

Intelligence officials have picked up radio talk and chatter indicating that the terrorist groups are going to “carry out an attack on the border,” according to one JW source.  “It’s coming very soon,” according to this high-level source, who clearly identified the groups planning the plots as “ISIS and Al Qaeda.” An attack is so imminent that the commanding general at Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army post in El Paso, is being briefed, another source confirms. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to multiple inquiries from Judicial Watch, both telephonic and in writing, about this information.

The disturbing inside intelligence comes on the heels of news reports revealing Obama defending muslims Twothat U.S. intelligence has picked up increased chatter among Islamist terror networks approaching the 13th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.Eagle Really While these terrorists reportedly plan their attack just outside the U.S., President Obama admits that “we don’t have a strategy yet” to combat ISIS. “I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” the commander-in-chief said this week during a White House press briefing. “I think what I’ve seen in some of the news reports suggest that folks are getting a little further ahead of what we’re at than what we currently Confusedare.”

The administration has also covered up, or at the very least downplayed, a serious epidemic of crime along the Mexican border even as heavily armed drug cartels have taken over portions of the region. Judicial Watch has reported that the U.S. Border Patrol actually ordered officers to avoid the most crime-infested stretches because they’re “too dangerous” and patrolling them could result in an “international incident” of cross border shooting. In the meantime, who could forget the famous words of Obama’s first Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano; the southern border is “as secure as it has ever been.”on our own

These new revelations are bound to impact the current debate about the border crisis and immigration policy.

Democrats are more afraid of global warming than the threat posed by the Islamic State terrorists, according to a new Pew Research Center poll.

The poll shows that 68 percent of Democrats believe that global climate change is a major threat to the United States, compared to just 25 percent of Republicans.

In contrast, 65 percent of Democrats believe that ISIS is a major threat, three points less than climate change. Seventy-eight percent of Republicans cited ISIS as a major threat -+ a partisan difference of 13 points.

Eighty percent of Republicans also cite “Islamic extremist groups like al Qaeda” as a major threat to the United States compared to 69 percent of Democrats.

Republicans also trump Democrats in citing North Korea’s nuclear program, China’s emergence as a world power, Iran’s nuclear program, and the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians as a threat to the United States.

The only threat that both parties agree on is the growing tensions between Russia and its neighbors, cited by both at 54 percent.

Obama After MONTHS of ISIS Attacks: ‘We Don’t Have a Strategy Yet’

The Commander-in-Chief of the United States must be decisive. He should not be a hot-head, but should also not be paralyzed with indecision.

There was a time, not too long ago, that even Democrats understood that a swift response was necessary to external threats. Franklin Roosevelt, a man who helped set this country on a disastrous economic path, even understood this principle and asked for a declaration of war after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

Yet, for some reason, months and years go by without President Obama acting decisively as he hopes that problems abroad will, somehow, solve themselves.

To be fair, he’s had a lot on his plate; when not agitating racial tensions and crusading for lawlessness as official policy, Obama is quite busy with vacations, golf and other leisurely activities.

On Thursday, President Obama addressed matters of international concern as he noted that Russia is responsible for the increased violence in Eastern Ukraine. He also addressed the worsening situation in the Middle East with regards to ISIS.

That's Nothing Watch ThisOn the issue of Russia, Obama declared,

“Finally, I just spoke with Chancellor Merkel of Germany on the situation in Ukraine. We agree, if there was ever any doubt, that Russia is responsible for the violence in eastern Ukraine. The violence is encouraged by Russia. The separatists are trained by Russia. They are armed by Russia. They are funded by Russia. Russia has deliberately and repeatedly violated the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”

However, rather than offer any solutions, Obama merely patted himself on the back and hailed his oh-so-stern economic sanctions as having a devastating effect on the massive Russian economy.

When he took questions, reporters wanted to know more about how his administration intended to deal with ISIS. After dancing around and explaining what should happen in the Middle East, that Iraq should be instrumental in diminishing the presence of ISIS, Obama offered no solutions and flat-out admitted that his administration has “no strategy” in dealing with ISIS.

HashtagDiscussing military intervention, Obama candidly admitted, “I don’t want to put the cart before the horse. We don’t have a strategy yet.”

It’s important to note that this administration has been aware of the dangers posed by ISIS for months. In June of 2014, ISIS seized the Iraqi city of Mosul, wreaking havoc upon Christian and other minority populations.

For months, this administration has hemmed and hawed and hoped that ISIS will simply pack up and go away. Instead, they have gained massive ground and strong footholds in Iraq and have all but undone the stability American military members fought and died to help create.

Still, we are told by our president that after months of threats and increasing militancy, this administration does not have a strategy yet?

This president makes Jimmy Carter look strong and decisive by comparison…

West Point report describes Islamic State threat as crisis 4 years in the making

Complete Message

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/08/27/west-point-report-describes-islamic-state-threat-as-crisis-4-years-in-making/

share imageA new report from the West Point counterterrorism center challenges the notion that the Islamic State only recently became a major terror threat, describing the network’s gains in Iraq as a crisis four years in the making.

Meanwhile, Fox News has learned that top aides to President Obama expect the threat from the organization, also known as ISIS or ISIL, to outlast Obama’s time in office.

The details underscore the challenge facing the U.S. government and its allies as the president and military advisers weigh how — and where — to confront the Islamist militant forces.

“ISIL did not suddenly become effective in early June 2014: it had been steadily strengthening and actively shaping the future operating environment for four years,” the report from the West Point center said.

Obama-muslim-2-610x400The report said that the “shattering” of Iraq’s security forces in June is a “case-in-point, the result of years of patient preparatory operations.”

The report, obtained in advance by Fox News, was published by the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, an independent, privately funded research group. It was written by Michael Knights, with The Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

The report pointed to a long trail of warning signs, after leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi “re-booted” the organization in 2010. The report said it has developed a “highly-motivated cadre of light infantry forces” since 2012, while launching major attacks like a wave of car bombs across multiple cities that lasted until the end of 2013.

Despite these warning signs, President Obama earlier this year compared ISIS and related groups to a “jayvee team” during an interview with The New Yorker.

B.S. MeterThe White House has since defended those remarks, claiming the president was not referring only to the Islamic State. Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes also claimed earlier this month that the network indeed “has gained capacity in the last several months.”

Rhodes said the Islamic State poses “a greater threat today than they did six months ago.”

Left unclear is when that danger might diminish.

With the Islamic State now controlling large swaths of territory across Syria and northern Iraq, senior Obama administration officials have repeatedly referred to the terrorist army as a “long-term” threat.

Asked if that means that the dangers posed by ISIS will extend beyond Obama’s time in office, a senior State Department official told Fox News: “Probably. Probably.”

Obama defending muslims TwoThe official hastened to add that the U.S. has embraced similarly lengthy time frames in its post-9/11 efforts to combat other major terrorist groups, such as Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and that such a view — especially given the success against Al Qaeda in those regions — should not be mistaken for a lack of initiative or zeal in the president’s approach.

The official also stressed that the administration does not see a 9/11-style attack on the American homeland as among the threats the Islamic State presently poses. Rather, the group is thought by U.S. policymakers to threaten Washington’s regional allies and interests, as many administration officials have emphasized in recent weeks.

ConfusedThe State Department source also pointed to the variety of methods the administration is using to address ISIS. These range from “kinetic” operations aimed at “taking their leadership off the battlefield” to online initiatives designed to choke off the group’s financing to diplomatic activities that will stem the flow of foreign fighters to ISIS’ breeding ground, Syria.

“We are also working on getting others to stand up and push them out,” the source said.

The West Point report did detail the organization’s potential weaknesses.

The report said ISIS leaders are “crafting far-sighted political-military campaigns that are resilient enough to survive the deaths of their progenitors,” but their ability to “continually shape and control the conflict will be sorely tested” as the pace of the counteroffensive accelerates.

The Obama administration is currently weighing whether to expand its air campaign from northern Iraq into Syria.

“Although they may boast a deep bench of talented individuals following years of prisoner releases, prison breaks and recruitment, leadership casualties will nonetheless complicate their ability to hold the initiative in the future,” the report said.

The West Point article said ISIS has benefited from the “unpreparedness of its enemies” but such factors “are diminishing.”

“As a defensive force, ISIL may struggle to hold terrain if it is attacked simultaneously at multiple points or if its auxiliary allies begin to defect,” the report said.

Still, the report noted the group is absorbing “whole networks of militants into its ranks.” point

Does Islamic State Have Grip on Middle East? Bloomberg

Wars are never simple. With the incredible success of the terrorist group ISIS, now called the Islamic State, and the recent news that Egypt and UAE have engaged in air strikes against the jihadists in Syria, Breitbart News has decided to cut away some of the fog of war and explain who stands where in this latest Holy War for the future of the Middle East and North Africa.

Obama-muslim-2-610x400Afghanistan: Continually deteriorating alliance with the United States. Taliban insurgency continues to usurp power and territory from the vacuum left behind by US forces’ departure from Kabul. Multi-ethnic society under one impossible-to-maintain central administration has created the conditions for constant clashes between tribes. Home to Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda in the ’80s and ’90s.

Algeria: Home to Africa’s third-biggest oil reserves and 10th in the world in natural gas reserves. Dealing with widespread poverty and Islamist radicals infiltrating the government. 99% Sunni Muslim.

Al Qaeda: Salafist Sunni terror group now run by the Egyptian Ayman al Zawahiri, with various offshoots spread all over the region. The Islamic State – formerly ISIS – is a break-off of Al Qaeda in Iraq.

Obama defending muslims TwoBahrain: Tiny country primarily populated by Shiite Muslims but ruled by Sunnis, which has often led to political unrest and anti-regime protests.

Egypt: Run by the government of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi, the former Commander of the Armed Forces. The government has declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization and is fighting jihadi elements in major cities, especially the Sinai.

Hamas: Palestinian terror organization at war with Israel. The Palestinian arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, its charter commits its members to “dying in the way of Jihad.”

Hezbollah: Iran-backed Lebanon-based terrorist group. Engaged in “holy war” with Sunni terrorist group obama-islamThe Islamic State in Syria, and according to latest reports, now in Iraq also. Led by Hassan Nasrallah.

Iran: Leader of the Shiite Islamic world. Ruled by theocratic dictator Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Known financier of Hezbollah and Hamas terror groups and ally of Syria’s Assad. Committed to exporting its theocratic revolution.

Iraq: At war with the Islamic State (IS). The new government has lost control of several major cities to IS. Weakened by crumbling defense forces and lack of US forces in the country.

The Islamic State: Formerly known as Al Qaeda in Iraq, and the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham. Lead by the newly announced “caliph” Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Controls a large swath of territory that spans much of Iraq and Syria. In terms of numbers of fighters, Confusedweapons, and available funds, far outstrips the capabilities of Al Qaeda (even at its most powerful on 9/11).

Israel: Only liberal democracy in the Middle East. At war with Iran-sponsored Hamas, an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. De facto alliance with Egypt. Closest formal ally to the US in the region

Jordan: Monarchy ruled by King Abdullah II, part of the Hashemite dynasty said to be descended from Mohammad. A moderate Islamic country compared to its Arab neighbors and a close ally of the United States. Threatened as a potential prime target for the Islamic State for both of these reasons. Inherently unstable due to a very large Palestinian population and enormous influx of refugees from Syria and Iraq. Has a small but very capable military and intelligence service.

Kuwait: Home to US military bases. Top officials recently suspected of financing terror. Ruling party dealing with allegations of massive corruption. Emir controls all political power. Recent reports say that Kuwait may be turning against the jihadi movement.

Lebanon: Although its governmental system is technically equally divided between Shiite, Sunni, and Maronite Christians, in reality, both domestic and foreign policy is dominated by the Shiite terror group and Iran-proxy Hezbollah.

Libya: Ruling party at war with anti-Islamist general Haftar. Country in a state of lawlessness. The Al Nusra Front, an Al Qaeda-offshoot that was responsible for 9/11/2012 attack on US consulate, is still at large.

Who is better offPakistan: Home to the Haqqani network and the country where Osama bin Laden was hiding. Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is known to have been infiltrated by and supportive of radical fundamentalist interests. Fundamentally dysfunctional, Pakistan has never come to terms with its Islamic identity or its paranoia for India.

Qatar: Oil-rich gulf state that controls the Al Jazeera Media Network, which is known as an informal propaganda arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. Qatari officials have been accused by international leaders of financing terrorism, particularly The Islamic State terror group. Along with Turkey suspected of being the largest supporter of jihadists in Syria and Iraq.

Syria: In the midst of a civil war between President Bashar al-Assad’s Syrian Army and Islamist factions of varying radicalism. Current death toll estimates around 200,000. A client state of Iran.

Turkey: Previously a stable, secular Muslim state whose democracy was vouched safe by the Muslims in the White House Administrationmilitary. Now ruled by Muslim Brotherhood-friendly leadership. Strongly aligned with Hamas despite being a member of NATO. Along with Qatar suspected of being supporter of jihadists in Syria and Iraq.

Tunisia: Recognized as the catalyst of the “Arab Spring” revolts that changed the map of the Middle East. Recently removed from power Muslim-Brotherhood government.

Saudi Arabia: Ruled as a theocratic absolute monarchy. Preaches Wahhabism, a salafist fundamentalist branch of Islam. Known for Mecca and Medina, the two holiest Islamic sites. Top officials have been accused of aiding and abetting of Al Qaeda and its offshoots. Recently reassessing the threat of extremists to its own system, it has moved closer to Israel.

United Arab Emirates: Carried out airstrikes on Libya last week against Islamist militants. Federation of seven emirates, each governed by an emir who come together to form the Federal Supreme Council, which makes executive decisions on behalf of the UAE. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are two emirates known for being commercial hubs. Interested in defeating the jihadi threat.

Yemen: Home to Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, arguably the fiercest branch of AQ. Large US drone presence to combat radical entities. Fragile government threatened by jihadists as well as tribal Houthi insurgents.

Pakistan teetering as Islamic supremacists expand

author-imageMichael Maloof

Michael Maloof, staff writer for WND and G2Bulletin, is a former senior security policy analyst in the office of the secretary of defense.

pakistan-missileWASHINGTON – Abdul Maulana Aziz, a follower of Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Omar who led the infamous Red Mosque rebellion in Pakistan, has declared his support for the newly formed Islamic State, led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

The jihadist army of the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, had taken over large swaths of Iraq and declared the establishment of a caliphate, governed by Islamic law, or Shariah, that also includes northeastern Syria.

Aziz’s backing of Baghdadi is seen as ominous by Western intelligence, since he is close to such groups as Sipa-e-Sahaba and the Tehnik-i-Taliban Pakistan, or TTP, which seek the overthrow – even by violent means – of the Pakistani government, which possesses nuclear weapons.NO

angry 05Aziz’s support for Baghdadi and ISIS comes as Pakistan, a predominantly Sunni country, faces yet another political crisis that threatens the existence of its democratic secular government. Political opponents of Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have demanded his resignation, which he has refused.

His opponents want sweeping constitutional reform to replace parliamentary democracy and confront alleged corruption that has crept into the electoral process.

However, jihadist groups see an opportunity now to assert their influence as Pakistan’s political crisis grows worse.

Aziz was thrown into jail after the 2007 Red Mosque attack but later released. Although there were some 27 charges pending against him at one time, the Pakistani courts dismissed all of them.

Obama-muslim-2-610x400The government then asked Aziz to be part of a negotiating team of the Taliban, which are an instrument of Pakistan’s Inter-Service Intelligence Group, or ISI.

The Pakistani government enlisted Aziz in an effort to have a militant interlocutor to negotiate with the TTP, which seeks the overthrow of the Pakistani government.

However, Aziz pulled out as a negotiator with the government, insisting Shariah must replace Pakistan’s constitutional law. His recent move comes despite what sources say are his strong ties to the ISI.

Aziz has vowed that Islam will “spread all over Pakistan, then all over the world.”sound familar

ISIS IS HEREAs an apparent supporter of the TTP as well, Aziz backs groups that are actively training jihadists, including Uzbeks, who would give jihadist fighters access to all of Central Asia.

He also is supportive of the training in jihadist Pakistani camps of Chinese Uighurs, who seek to separate the westernmost Xinjiang province from the rest of China and declare an independent Islamic state of Turkestan.

Sources say Pakistan’s ISI has been complicit in such training.

The development has also created problems in Beijing, which sources say Aziz blames for the reported death of his mother and brother in the July 2007 siege of Red Mosque.

According to sources, Red Mosque jihadists had targeted Chinese sex workers as part of a purification effort. The Pakistani government, then led by President Pervez Musharraf, bent to Chinese demands and sent in Pakistani troops to storm the mosque, which resulted in the death of hundreds of Muslims, including Aziz’ mother and brother.

Aziz, who was at the Red Mosque at the time of the siege, had disguised himself in a woman’s burka from head to toe, but he Christian Persecutionwas discovered and paraded in a “humiliating fashion,” sources say.

Nevertheless, the Red Mosque encounter showed that Islamic militancy, which has acted as a proxy for the Pakistani policy, especially toward India, was becoming a threat to the government itself.

Aziz’s backing of ISIS puts Baghdadi and his Sunni radical caliphate in direct contact with the TTP, China’s Uighurs and the Afghan Taliban, which was created by the ISI.

With the Afghan Taliban biding its time until U.S. forces completely leave Afghanistan in 2016, ISIS has the opportunity to extend its influence in that country as well.

For years, Aziz was a backer of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and recently named a library after bin Laden, who was killed in May 2012 by U.S. SEALs in a Confusedcompound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, with the apparent knowledge of the ISI.

“If Pakistan truly has freedom of expression,” Aziz said at the time of the inauguration of the library, “then we should be able to express our love for our heroes. And we love Osama bin Laden.

Aziz recently named a dispensary after Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani woman who is serving a life term in U.S. prison on charges of attempting to kill an American soldier and an official of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Afghanistan.

Sidiqui is an MIT-educated neuroscientist who also is known as “Lady al-Qaida.”

Her release was one of the demands by ISIS captors of American journalist James Foley before he was beheaded in retaliation for U.S. air strikes against ISIS in Iraq.

Obama-muslim-2-610x400Although Barack Obama downplayed the Muslim terrorist group ISIS as ‘JV’ in January of this year, their actions have shown that they are anything but. The terrorists have been leaving a bloody trail behind of victims who have been beheaded, sliced in half, or buried alive. On Tuesday, the beheaded American photojournalist James Foley. While many have said that action is an act of war against America, the Obama State Department insists that it is not.

Meanwhile, Obama is busy at the golf course, having played eight rounds in 11 days including one within 10 minutes of his 5 minute speech regarding the beheading of Foley. As he is fist bumping his buddies and high fiving, WGN in his hometown of Chicago conducting an investigation which revealed some frightening news.

A few weeks ago, a tweet was put out with the ISIS flag being displayed on a smartphone in front of the White House with the threat that they will one day fly their flag there. Obama was silent on that threat. But, WGN noticed another tweet that others did not.

On June 20, a tweet was sent out with a message being held in Arabic in front of a building. The building caught the eye of someone at the news station and, upon further investigation, they identified it as the Old Republic Building in Chicago located at 307 N. Michigan Ave.terror
Obama defending muslims TwoThe message along with the picture states “soldiers of the Islamic state of Iraq and Syria will pass from here soon.” Other tweets add ““we are in your state/ we are in your cities / we are in your streets.  You are our goals anywhere” and “we are here #america near our #target  :)  sooooooooooooon.”

The station notes that there is a Chicago connection between these actions by ISIS because Foley was a graduate of Northwestern University. Although they attempted to get a statement from numerous agencies and officials, no one from the security team at the Old Republic Building would comment, nor would the FBI, CIA, or the Chicago Police.

Earlier this week, TPNN reported on a flag being held at the site of one of the Ferguson riots that said, “ISIS is here.”

Despite  these numerous threats on America by ISIS, Obama remains on vacation and on the golf course.

Obama’s Use of ISIL, Not ISIS, Tells Another Story

Monday, June 23, 2014 – 5:15am

Obama defending muslims TwoThere has been little notice of the president’s insistent use of the acronym “ISIL” to describe the Sunni forces currently rampaging across Iraq, executing Iraqi military and creating a new massive refugee population in an already unstable area.

With the exception of Reuters and now the Associated Press, most news organizations have not referred to ISIL until President Obama began using the term, which stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. But when Obama used the term 5 times on June13, and 16 times in his commencement speech at West Point on June 19th, he was using his bully pulpit to make a point.

Related: How the Collapse of Iraq Would Affect America

Imperial President ObamaMost, like this publication, continue to use the widely accepted acronym ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria or al-Sham, but both describe the same murderous organization. The difference is that the Levant describes a territory far greater than simply Iraq and Syria.  It’s defined as this: The Levant today consists of the island of Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and part of southern Turkey.

Why would Obama prefer ISIL? An “army” of that territorial magnitude takes the focus off the two countries that many believe define Obama’s continued failure in the Middle East. Most likely, he would rather eliminate the connection between the chaos in Iraq with his inaction in Syria. Better that the upheaval in a country to which we committed so much blood and treasure remain the fault of George W. Bush. The president has already been tarred with having failed to secure a Status of Forces deal with Prime Minister al-Maliki, which would have allowed a contingent of American troops to stay in Iraq.

Numerous critics warned that sectarian hostilities were inevitably going to worsen under the openly partisan Shiite government; they argued that only by arranging a continuing presence in Iraq would the U.S. have any opportunity to moderate Maliki’s divisive anti-Sunni regime. Instead, the minute U.S. troops left in 2011, Maliki began to shut down and marginalize Shia and Kurd voices, arresting opponents, including Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi.

Related: U.S. Watches As Iraq Speeds Toward Disaster

ConfusedNumerous sources have claimed that Obama purposefully undermined the negotiations over a SOFA, suggesting he wanted to score political points by getting our troops out, no matter the long-term consequences of an overly hasty exit.

Not only has the worsening of sectarian hostilities encouraged the current Sunni uprising, Maliki has also permitted shipments of weapons from Iran to al-Assad’s government in Syria through Iraqi airspace. The Obama administration had early on denied that Maliki was providing this assistance, undermining U.S. interests, until Secretary of State Kerry went to Bagdad to demand an end to such transfers. Presumably, a U.S. presence would have prohibited such access.

President Obama is also criticized for refusing to arm moderate factions in the early days of the Syria uprising, a hesitation Hillary Clinton now says she opposed. Because he dithered, the U.S. lost the opportunity to engage with the less extreme opponents of Bashar Al-Assad. Our absence arguably created a vacuum, into which streamed Al-Qaeda linked extremists, helping create the alliance between Islamic terrorists in Syria and Iraq. Now, across the Middle East, there is fear that extremists will ultimately control Syria.

President Obama was clever to announce that our military advisors would soon be helping Iraq confront the insurgent ISIL; Americans might not be so forgiving about sending more of our best and bravest to help push back ISIS. It’s all in the “message.”
