NY’s Nursing Home Scandal Just Got Bigger, Political Donations Tied To Immunity For Nursing Home Executives

Written by Staff Writer – May 27, 2020

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home scandal just got a lot worse, it turns out in return for political donations Cuomo gave nursing home executive immunity.

In 2018, Cuomo was in a heated Democrat primary race to run for governor. At the last minute money poured in from a large health care industry group. The healthcare lobbying group poured more than $1 million into Cuomo’s coffers and it was enough to help push Cuomo to victory.

Less than two years after receiving the cash from the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), Cuomo signed legislation last month very quietly giving immunity to nursing home executives from the threat of lawsuits stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. Legal experts believe this provision is the nation’s most explicit immunity protections for the healthcare industry.

More than 5,000 New Yorkers have died in nursing homes and state legislators are doing their best to repeal the bill. Cuomo snuck in the immunity clause in a small passage of his annual budget.

The GNYHA aggressively lobbied the governor to add the provision, no doubt reminding him of the money they gave provided him to win the Democrat primary. According to the new law, nursing home companies, “shall have immunity from any liability, civil or criminal, for any harm or damages alleged to have been sustained as a result of an act or omission in the course of arranging for or providing healthcare services” to address the Covid-19 outbreak.

Cuomo like most governors had already temporarily granted legal immunity to frontline doctors and nurses, however, this clause was buried in the States annual spending bill and for executives. The legislation covers “healthcare facility administrator, executive, supervisor, board member, trustee or other person responsible for directing, supervising or managing a healthcare facility and its personnel or other individual in a comparable role.”

Democratic assemblyman Ron Kim is leading 14 New York lawmakers to repeal the language in the legislation because the immunity provisions are linked to the higher death rates in nursing homes.

“It is now apparent that negligence by administrators and executives of nursing homes has occurred at an extraordinary degree,” proponents of the legislation argued in a memo accompanying the bill. “[The immunity law] egregiously uses severe liability standards as a means to insulate healthcare facilities and specifically, administrators and executives of such facilities, from any civil or criminal liability for negligence. Repealing this article is a much-needed step to holding healthcare administrators accountable and doing everything possible to stop even more preventable deaths from happening.”

During his campaign for a second term in the general election against his Republican contender, Cuomo received another $2.3 million from the GNYHA. Cuomo’s campaign received over $3 million from nursing home industry donors and their lobbying firms.

Unless the wording in the legislation is changed families who were victims of Cuomo’s horrendous policy will not be able to sue and there will be no accountability.

Orwellian Bracelet Pushed by Big Tech to Enforce Social Distancing Will Beep to Prevent Human Contact

Reported by   | May 27, 2020

The Intercept has reported on the push to slap FitBit-style bracelets onto people in order to track them and coerce their behavior. AiRISTA Flow, a tech firm based out of Maryland, is marketing bracelets that would beep whenever a person comes within six feet of another individual in the workplace.

“When people come within six feet of each other for a period of time,” the company wrote in a press release about their creepy and invasive device, “the device makes an audible chirp and a record of the contact is made in the AiRISTA Flow software system.”

The technology would also allow employers to track every violation of social distancing edicts committed by their workers. The workers could then be reprimanded, or even fired, based off of the information gathered by the device.

The Redpoint Positioning Corporation is developing similar technology to turn employers into quarantine enforcement brigades. They have announced that they are working on modifying “cutting-edge technology … already used by leading companies worldwide in third-party logistics, auto manufacturing, mine operation” to be used in the enforcement of social distancing edicts. They plan on tagging people and products in the workplace to allow employers to institute Draconian restrictions on the freedom of movement.

“If social distancing parameters, such as a 1- or 2-meter radius, are violated between workers, the tag alarm will alert them to the hazard,” Redpoint wrote in their press release.

“If an infection does occur, historical data from the system will allow for highly accurate contact tracing, as records can show the individuals who were near the infected party,” they added.

Israeli surveillance firm SuperCom is repackaging services that are used on criminals to enforce home confinement on ordinary people in the workplace. They are calling their service “PureCare,” and it is described as a “state-of-the-art solution for quarantine and isolation monitoring to aid government efforts in containing and limiting the reach of infectious diseases.” They claim it is “a non-intrusive patient friendly system that constantly tracks patient location within buildings, vehicles and outside.”

They noted in their press release that they have experienced a sharp increase in “government agencies looking to restrict the spread of COVID-19 among their general population” and anticipate “additional potential industry demand for electronic monitoring services coming from the incarcerated American population.”

SuperCom talks in a cavalier fashion about how their technology will be used to treat ordinary law-abiding citizens like criminals. They released a promotional video on YouTube boasting that the exact same type of technology used to track and control convicts will be used on regular people.

“In the past, we have spent a lot of our time focusing on very accurate and state of the art tracking of offenders,” SuperCom Americas President Ordan Trabelsi said in the video.

“Many customers and potential customers around the world asked us if we could use that same platform to do, you know, Covid-19 home quarantine tracking and compliance. And we thought, of course we can because it’s exactly what we do in the offender tracking space. But now we’ll just be tracking people that are not essentially offenders but unluckily were exposed to the virus,” he added.

Civil liberties advocates and privacy rights advocates are crying foul at the rapid mainstreaming of this invasive technology for the purposes of contact tracing.

“I found the ankle monitor and other tracking methods described [by SuperCom] highly inappropriate and detrimental to a public health response in being unreasonably and unnecessarily coercive,” said Leonard Rubenstein, a bioethicist and human rights attorney with the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, “a serious invasion of privacy without any safeguards, and promoting an adversarial relationship to public health authorities when the relationship should be built on trust.”

President Donald Trump was right to warn that the cure may be worse than the disease. The coronavirus pandemic may usher in a new normal that destroys the concepts of privacy and anonymity forever.

VILE: New York Times Claims U.S. Military ‘Celebrates White Supremacy’ on Memorial Day

Reported by   | May 25, 2020

To commemorate Memorial Day, the New York Times published an op/ed claiming that the U.S. military celebrates white supremacy. The op/ed was signed by the entire editorial board of the Times, showing how this view is ubiquitous among everyone on the fake news rag. They argue that the U.S. military celebrates white supremacy because they have not sufficiently pissed on the graves of ancestors deemed to be racist by Cultural Marxists.

The editorial board claims that “innocent intentions cannot obscure the truth that secessionists embarked on the Civil War to guarantee the rights of some human beings to own others, or the fact that the Confederate banner represents the same white supremacist values as — and is often displayed in tandem with — the Nazi swastika.”

They are pushing for the U.S. military to rename their bases that are named after Confederate generals, as the leftists march to degrade American culture in their relentless push to transform the nation.

“This same toxic legacy clings to the 10 United States military installations across the South that were named for Confederate Army officers during the first half of the 20th century,” the Times editorial board wrote.

“Apologists often describe the names as a necessary gesture of reconciliation in the wake of the Civil War. In truth, the namings reflect a federal embrace of white supremacy that found its most poisonous expression in military installations where black servicemen were deliberately placed under the command of white Southerners — who were said to better “understand” Negroes — and confined to substandard housing, segregated transportation systems and even “colored only” seating in movie houses,” they added.

The cultural genocide is not just extended to Confederate ancestors, but also to the Founding Fathers as well. The Times has pushed revisionist anti-American history through the 1619 Project, which has stated blatantly false claims about America seceding from the British to protect the institute of slavery.

Big League Politics has reported about how the Left is coming after all symbols honoring American heritage and the founding-era revolutionaries who put their lives on the line to establish liberty:

After a San Francisco school board voted to paint over a mural depicting the life of George Washington, over 500 academics signed an open letter urging the board to reverse course.

This decision was made after accusations of the mural traumatizing students and glorifying “slavery, genocide, colonization, manifest destiny, white supremacy, oppression.” USA Today reported that hundreds of educators are protesting this decision, calling it a “gross violation of logic” as the mural actually represents “a significant monument of anti-racism.”

The mural was created by Russian-American painter Victor Arnautoff in 1936, according to a report from the Richmond District Blog. Some of the mural’s images were attacked during the civil rights movement over its portrayal of slavery and Native Americans…

Rachael Z. DeLue, an Art History and American Studies professor at Princeton University, told USA Today that the mural shouldn’t be removed:

“If we cover it up and we whitewash it, not only are we doing a disservice to history, but we’re also doing a disservice to those who suffered at the hands of European-descended Americans: slaves and Native Americans who were traumatized and killed.”

DeLue added, “It’s also the case that this isn’t simply of the past. The legacies of slavery and federal policy about Native Americans live on in the present.”

Paul Von Blum, a senior lecturer in African American studies and communications studies at University of California, Los Angeles, suggested that students become more mentally tough.

“I know it causes students to cringe, but that’s the function of art,” Von Blum said to USA Today. “And art should never be censored.”

The New York Times openly hates America and wants the nation to be destroyed and its people to be subjugated. The fake news is the enemy of the people.
