Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden landed himself in a factually sticky situation Thursday night, arguing former President Barack Obama had never taken part in the policy of family separation carried out at the outset of the Trump administration.
The false claim came late in the second and final debate of the 2020 presidential election cycle, as he faced off with incumbent Republican President Donald Trump on the issue of illegal immigration.
“These 500-plus kids came with parents. They separated them at the border to make it a disincentive to come to begin with,” Biden said. “They got separated from their parents and it makes us a laughingstock and violates every notion of who we are as a nation.”

“Kristen, they did it,” Trump said, addressing debate moderator Kristen Welker. “We changed the policy. They did it. We changed — they built the cages.”
“We did not separate — they,” Biden trailed off, changing course.
“Let’s talk about what we’re talking about. Let’s talk about what we’re talking about. What happened? Kids were ripped from their arms and separated.”

The narrative was not original, having already been fact-checked on numerous occasions by independent sources in the establishment media.
The Associated Press, for its part, checked former first lady Michelle Obama for making similar claims in an address to the 2020 Democratic National Convention this past August.
“Michelle Obama assailed President Donald Trump on Monday for allegedly ripping migrant children from their parents and throwing them into cages, picking up on a frequent and distorted point made widely by Democrats,” The AP wrote. “She’s……………………………..READ THE REST OF THIS REPORT AT https://www.westernjournal.com/fact-check-biden-tells-biggest-lie-night-maybe-entire-election/

Law enforcement officials recently foiled what appears to be an assassination attempt that targeted President Donald Trump via a package containing the poison ricin, according to a report. Citing two law enforcement officials, CNN reported the package was addressed to Trump and intercepted by authorities this week.
“Two tests were done to confirm the presence of ricin,” according to the outlet.

“All mail for the White House is sorted and screened at an offsite facility before reaching the White House.”
The New York Times confirmed, citing a law enforcement official, that an envelope addressed to the White House and containing Ricin was intercepted this week.
“It is unclear when the envelope was intercepted before it reached the White House mail room, but investigators believe that it was sent from Canada, according to the official,” The Times reported.
“Federal investigators are working to track down who sent it and determine whether other envelopes have been sent through the postal system.”

The FBI’s field office in Washington, D.C., told the Washington Examiner it was investigating a “suspicious letter,” though it did not provide many details.
“The FBI and our U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service partners are investigating a suspicious letter received at a U.S. government mail facility,” the FBI’s statement read.
“At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.”
It looks like support for Sen. Kamala Harris is as fake as her speeches. When the Democratic nominee for vice president closed out her distinctly uninspiring speech on Wednesday night, she waved to a bank of video monitors showing rapturously applauding supporters.

But sharp-eyed Trump campaign workers saw something else: Many of the screens showed the same figures twice. Zach Parker, Trump campaign deputy director of communications, sent out the first image when it looked like just two of the scenes were dupes:
Then there were four:

And, finally, it turned out six of the screens were duplicates.
Andrew Clark, rapid response director for the Trump campaign, blasted out the news.
Astounding as it might be, the Democratic National Committee — on a night that was declared “historic” thanks to the nomination of a black woman for vice president (no matter how dubious she is) — was apparently unable to put up 30 separate screens of supporters elated with being part of the historic occasion.
What’s even more astounding — though it shouldn’t be at this point — is that liberals were falling all over themselves to excuse the idiocy. One guy, when it looked like there was only one duplication, even went to far as to call the Democratic production “perfection.”
Advertisement – story continues below
Well, perfection it clearly wasn’t. And there were many, many Twitter users who weren’t nearly so forgiving as the leftist vote.
Advertisement – story continues below
That last one might be a little bit too harsh.
Given the oddity of the whole virtual convention setup, it’s an outside possibility that there was a technical glitch involved that somehow flooded Harris’ supporter bank with duplicate feeds. But given the Democrats’ history of lying to the American people — this is the party of Adam Schiff, remember, and Jerry Nadler, and Nancy Pelosi, to name but a few — it’s more than possible that an organization that knows it has the slavering support of a supine mainstream media thought there would be no downside to presenting a demonstrably false image to the country on one of its most important nights of the year.
This is a candidate, also, who used her speech after being announced as former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate to regale the country with lie after lie after lie, as National Review’s Kyle Smith pointed out last week.
Either way, it’s a rock-solid cinch that the incident won’t get anywhere near the kind of coverage in the mainstream media it would if it had been, say, Vice President Mike Pence waving like an idiot to a bank of computer-monitor clones.
As far as scandals go, “Dupli-Gate” has a nice ring to it.

It’s the question every American should be asking heading into November, but Tucker Carlson said it out loud. It wasn’t polite. It wasn’t politically correct. But it’s an answer every voter should know before casting a ballot on Election Day: How can Americans trust liberals to lead the country when they’ve spent the past months proving how much they loathe it?
Advertisement – story continues below
In his monologue Monday night, the Fox News host, who has had his own share of run-ins with the violent left, used liberals’ own words and actions to back up his point, and contrasted them with President Donald Trump’s speech Friday at Mount Rushmore to drive it home.
Besides delivering a paean to the greatness of American history and the figures who created it — white and black, male and female — Trump slammed the Black Lives Matter riots that have taken place across the country. The anarchy under the guise of what the mainstream media blithely refer to as “mostly peaceful protests”has the ostensible aim of targeting alleged “systemic racism”— but the real target is the United States as a whole.
Advertisement – story continues below
“Make no mistake, this left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution,” the president said.
“In so doing, they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence and hunger, and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery and progress.
“To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol and memory of our national heritage.”
And for Carlson, those words said it all.
“Trump is the most dangerous to his enemies when he tells the truth,” the Fox News host said. “In fact, they’re his enemies precisely because sometimes he does tell the truth and he did the other day.”
Advertisement – story continues below
Check out his full monologue here. It’s about 13 minutes long, but for anyone who missed it Monday night, it’s well worth the time. It contained Carlson’s own paean to the country, reminders of exactly why the United States is the place countless millions born elsewhere want to live.
About the 10:30 mark, Carlson zeroed in on Joe Biden, the man who spent 36 years in the U.S. Senate before going on to another eight years as vice president. Biden should be overflowing with gratitude for the country that has given him and his family a life in politics probably far better than he could ever have earned in the honest world.
And what did the man who’s sewn up the Democratic nomination for president offer in a speech supposedly celebrating this great nation’s birthday?
“A full-throated attack on the United States,” Carlson said.
Then he played a clip of Biden’s Independence Day message.
“Our country was founded on an idea, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created.’ We never lived up to it,” the Democrat said.
“Jefferson himself didn’t. He held slaves. Women were excluded.
“American history is no fairy tale. It’s been a constant push and pull between two parts of our character. The idea that all men and women and all people are created equal, and the racism that has torn us apart. …
“We have a chance to rip the roots of systemic racism out of this country.”
Advertisement – story continues below
If it weren’t so laughable, it would be enraging.
Joe Biden is talking about a chance to rip up the “roots of systemic racism”in this country”? This is a man who’s spent his entire life in American government.
Biden spent the early parts of his career kissing up to the arch-segregationists who were the power of his party for so long, and now he’s spending the last years of it sucking up to the new segregationists of the Black Lives Matter movement. If there were systemic racism to be ripped up, Biden had a lifetime to work on it. In the vice president’s office, he had eight years working with the country’s first black president — so it really should have come up, if it were present.
But it wasn’t and it’s not. It’s another liberal lie that’s being used as a weapon to undermine the country at its foundations — exactly what could be expected from a group that has moved from political opposition to one doing its damndest to teach Americans to hate themselves.
Joe Biden and the modern Democratic Party that’s trying to install him in the White House can talk all they want about how much they “love” this country, but their deeds show the exact opposite. And Tucker Carlson called it out.
“It’s long been considered out-of-bounds to question a person’s patriotism. It’s a very strong charge, and we try not ever to make it,” Carlson said.
“But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can’t be avoided — these people actually hate America. There’s no longer a question about that. And yet paradoxically, at the same time, they desperately want to control America more than anything.”
Those are strong words, but the behavior of the Democratic Party and its supporters merit them. There was a time when this all could have been chalked up to fanatical opposition to the administration.
The lies of Rep. Adam Schiff that led up to the ludicrous impeachment trial, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Maleficient-level treatment of Trump, the endless propaganda of the mainstream media, was all rough stuff, but it was politics, and politics is no game of beanbag.
What the country has witnessed over the past month has been something different, and far more malevolent. It’s the difference between “opposition” and “resistance.” The Democratic Party chose the latter at the beginning of the Trump presidency, and the country is now seeing the fruits of that decision.
The fact is, the indefensible death of a man in police custody in Minneapolis has been used to unleash the worst, basest instincts of a sizable group of Americans twisted by their own ignorance into despising the country they should love. The Democratic Party has chosen them as a vessel to return to power in the White House and in doing so has betrayed its own apparent loathing for America itself — an imperfect country they will never forgive for its imperfections.
There are still months to go before Election Day, and it’s entirely possible there will be an epiphany of some kind on the Democratic side that puts a stop to the party’s descent into nihilism. (Contrary to all evidence, there are still millions of decent men and women misguided enough to identify as Democrats. You might even know a few.)
But it’s still a question every American voter needs to ask and answer before casting a ballot in November:
How can Americans trust liberals to lead the country when they’re bent on proving to the country and each other how much they loathe it?

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez thinks White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany doesn’t read the newspapers. Maybe AOC should try reading what McEnany actually says before she launches an attack that basically accuses the press secretary of racism — even subconscious racism.
In a social media dispute that flared up Monday, New York’s best-known democratic socialist tried to paint the Harvard Law graduate McEnany as too ignorant to know the office Ocasio-Cortez holds, apparently thanks to a Politico summary of McEnany’s comments during a White House news briefing.
“@PressSec wouldn’t be the first person to mistake a women of color for having a lower position or title than she does, but Kayleigh – in case you haven’t picked up a newspaper in two years, I’m a Congresswoman,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
“The@PressSec comment is steeped in a long, hurtful, & horrendous history of stripping women of color of titles and diminishing them to ‘the help.’ Perhaps she isn’t aware that what she did is mired in racist history. If that is the case, I look forward to her apology tomorrow.”
First of all, since it’s unlikely McEnany has been living under a rock since the 2018 election season, it’s a good chance she knew full well who the Bronx-Queens Democrat is even before becoming White House press secretary.
Second, Ocasio-Cortez appeared to be triggered by Politico reporter Jake Sherman’s suspiciously snarky Twitter post that implied McEnany had referred to AOC as simply an “adviser” to Joe Biden, the elderly, white male who’s somehow become the Democrats’ presumptive presidential nominee for 2020.
Also, since McEnany was referring to Ocasio-Cortez’s status as co-chairwoman of a panel advising Biden on “climate change,” there’s an argument to be made that McEnany was complimenting AOC by elevating her beyond the ranks of an ordinary member of Congress to a powerful player in presidential politics.
Finally, as Alyssa Farah, White House director of strategic communications noted, Ocasio-Cortez was just dead wrong.
Had the congresswoman taken more than a minute to look, and resisted the urge to leap immediately at Sherman’s cc’ed Twitter bait, she would have known McEnany had fully described her, as well as AOC’s equally obnoxious “squad” mate Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the Democratic congresswoman from Michigan.
The two women came up when McEnany was fielding a question about the Democrats’ insane push to defund American police departments.
At a Friday night debate, according to the U.K. Independent, Ocasio-Cortez called for the “reduction of our NYPD budget and defunding a $6 billion budget, that costs us books in the hands of our children and costs us very badly needed investment in NYCHA and public housing.”
.@PressSec wouldn’t be the first person to mistake a women of color for having a lower position or title than she does, but Kayleigh – in case you haven’t picked up a newspaper in two years, I’m a Congresswoman. https://twitter.com/jakesherman/status/1270057686990819329 …
“The president is appalled by the ‘defund the police’ movement,” McEnany said, according to the transcript.
“The fact that you have sitting congresswomen wanting to defund the police — notably Rashida Tlaib, notably Biden adviser Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — former Clinton and Eric Holder spokesperson Brian Fallon wanting to defund our police across this country, it is extraordinary.”
In other words, Ocasio-Cortez fired off Monday apparently on the basis of a reporter’s tweet that seemed designed to get a rise out of her, and she jumped right at it. That’s not exactly the behavior voters should expect of their elected officials, but it’s the kind of action Americans have learned to expect from Democrats and “progressives” who have spent the Trump years demonstrating the maturity of middle schoolers.
As is usual with anything coming out of the Trump White House, McEnany’s tweet drew plenty of liberal responses as AOC’s supporters flocked to the congresswoman’s defense like the flying monkeys of “The Wizard of Oz” — but McEnany had plenty of backers, too.

I’ll go slow, try to keep up…she said sitting congressWOMEN (meaning multiple), then gives examples of those congressWOMEN, the second of which, AOC, is ALSO an advisor to Biden. AOC has TWO JOBS, congresswoman AND Biden advisor, BOTH mentioned. Got it?
Following the example of former press secretary Sarah Sanders, whose tenure was a textbook example of how the White House should handle an unrelentingly hostile press corps, McEnany has made it clear from the beginning that she wasn’t going to be intimidated by the divas in the briefing room.
Even the most vainly obtuse (say, Jim Acosta?) should be learning by now that attacking McEnany without a decent cause is going to be an exercise in failure.
Maybe Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will learn the lesson too — assuming she reads enough about it.
Joe has spent more than 30 years as a reporter, copy editor and metro desk editor in newsrooms in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Florida. He’s been with Liftable Media since 2015.
Nancy Pelosi has been lowering herself — and American politics — for decades now. But on Monday, she did it literally.
As the country heads into President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election bid, the crassly opportunistic (and maliciously anti-Trump) House speaker clearly hopes to capitalize on a wave of anti-police sentiment, stemming from the May 25 death of George Floyd after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for roughly nine minutes during an arrest, to defeat Trump’s campaign.
Claiming that police are the real problem, Democrats at the local level are working to “defund police” forces in their communities — and leave the minorities they claim to care about even more vulnerable to crime. The mainstream media is doing its ever-predictable part by portraying an astonishing orgy of riot and looting as some kind of heir to the dignified, morally driven protests of the civil rights movement.
And now comes House Speaker Pelosi herself, ostentatiously taking a knee in the ornate surroundings of Emancipation Hall (formerly the Great Hall) in the nation’s Capitol before introducing a bill to put a new set of federal regulations onto the nation’s locally controlled police forces.
Congressional Democrats take a knee as they observe a nearly nine minute moment of silence for George Floyd at Emancipation Hall at the U.S. Capitol. https://t.co/JnqDlzMFDqpic.twitter.com/8CBdgtLUjz
The bill, officially known as the “Justice in Policing Act,” is ostensibly intended to “hold law enforcement accountable in court, improve transparency through data collection, and reform police training and policies.” What it’s more likely intended to do is whip up Democratic voters heading into the November election, and provide a patina of legislative covering to continuing unrest in overwhelmingly Democratic-controlled cities.
“The martyrdom of George Floyd gave American experience a moment of national anguish as we grieve for the black Americans killed by police brutality,” a somewhat garbled Pelosi said at a news conference after the kneeling ceremony.
“Today, this movement of national anguish is being transformed into a movement of national action as Americans from across the country peacefully protest to demand an end to injustice.”

For Democrats, it probably looked like a moment of perfect political theater.
But some of the online reviews were appropriately damning:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi: "The martyrdom of George Floyd gave American experience a moment of national anguish as we grieve for the Black Americans killed by police brutality. Today, this moment of national anguish is being transformed into a movement of national action" pic.twitter.com/xu22quQaHQ
It’s interesting that this is a Democratic proposal, given that the highest-profile incidents of “police brutality” that Democrats seem to think is suddenly on an epidemic scale in the nation seem to crop up mainly in cities where Democrats have been in control for decades. Minneapolis, for instance, where Floyd died and where the city council now wants to disband the police force, is made up entirely of Democrats but for one Green Party member.
New York City, where a black vendor of illegal cigarettes named Eric Garner died after being arrested by police back in 2014, is staunchly Democratic.
Baltimore, where the death of a drug dealer named Freddie Gray in 2015 set off days of rioting, hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 1967, as Breitbart has noted.
Its elected officials at the local and federal level (including the late Elijah Cummings) have done nothing to prevent Charm City from a descent into slums. These are just a few examples, and every American, Democrat and Republican, knows the truth.
Yet Democrats see themselves as the force to reform American police agencies? The reality is that the party is throwing anything it can at Trump and the possibility he will serve another term in the White House.
The three-year national nightmare known as the “Russia collusion” probe came up deservedly empty. The impeachment affair from the first month of the year was so ludicrous it’s almost hard to remember — at a remove of six months — the exact lies Rep. Adam Schiff and Co. were peddling.
When the coronavirus hit, Democrats thought they had their issue, but Trump’s handling of it compared far too favorably with other world leaders — and especially favorably to the obvious ineptitude of Democratic governors like New York’s Andrew Cuomo and rumored Democratic vice presidential possibility Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan.
So now Pelosi’s Democrats have turned to the death of George Floyd and a national outbreak of looting and violence to try to convince American voters that the real problem the country has is racist police officers. It’s a desperate attempt to rally a dispirited Democratic base in time to win a 2020 election in which Democrats have pinned their hopes on a 77-year-old Joe Biden whose chief strength in the Democratic primaries was that he wasn’t Bernie Sanders.
He’s a man with a lifetime’s worth of political baggage, including the 1994 crime bill that Democrats despise today and a questionable past with China, not to mention endless accusations of improper behavior with women, as well as one serious claim of sexual assault.
Pelosi’s career has made clear for years that there’s really no depth she will not lower herself for the sake of political power — for herself and her party. On Monday, in the Capitol’s Emancipation Hall, she did it literally, for the whole world to see. And every voter needs to remember it in November.
Joe has spent more than 30 years as a reporter, copy editor and metro desk editor in newsrooms in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Florida. He’s been with Liftable Media since 2015.
Of course, there were a few liberal knuckleheads ready to jump in with irrelevant jibes (there was at least one mocking comparison to President Donald Trump’s visit to St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C., for instance).
But the overwhelming majority of comments were approving — and grateful.
At a time when Americans are being assaulted daily with lies about the nation’s supposedly “racist” police forces based on the actions of the tiniest sliver of their membership, and watching as liberal politicians attack the men and women who actually protect law and order, a statement of quiet dignity and faith like the one out of Georgia carries weight.
In the over-inflated, and clearly manipulated reactions to the death of George Floyd in Minnesota on May 25, protesters across the country have screamed for police to kneel with them as a gesture of conciliation, as Fox News has reported. (Bizarrely, even that peaceful move is drawing heat from progressives now, according to ABC News.)
But one state trooper, with a respectful demeanor and gentle logic that only added strength to his words, gave the answer that every law enforcement officer — and every American — should take to heart.
For free Americans, kneeling is reserved for one power only — and that’s not the rabble of Black Lives Matter movement.

The mayor of Baltimore wasn’t holding the president back.
President Donald Trump went ahead Monday with a planned Memorial Day visit to historic Fort McHenry, despite criticism from Mayor Bernard C. “Jack” Young, who said the trip sets a poor example amid the coronavirus crisis.
“Dear Mr. President@realDonaldTrump, please stay home!”Young tweeted Thursday. “The City of Baltimore is currently under a Stay at Home order for the safety of our residents, who have been hit hard by #COVID19.
The White House wasn’t buying it for a second, and Trump was en route to the city late Monday morning.
“The brave men and women who have preserved our freedoms for generations did not stay home and the president will not either as he honors their sacrifice by visiting such a historic landmark in our nation’s history,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Fort McHenry is the scene of the battle during the War of 1812 that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the poem that became “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
And while it’s true that Trump has had his own tangles with Democratic leaders of Baltimore (particularly the late Rep. Elijah Cummings), for an American president on Memorial Day, visiting the site that inspired “The Star-Spangled Banner” is as natural as his planned visit earlier Monday to Arlington National Cemetery.
While much of the social media responses to Trump’s planned trip to Charm City included the usual liberal cesspool of abuse (even after three years of the Trump presidency, it only gets more vile), the president had plenty of supporters online.

Trump visits Arlington cemetery, Fort McHenry for Memorial Day as Baltimore mayor criticizes trip
President Trump will mark Memorial Day with appearances at Arlington National Cemetery and Baltimore’s historic Fort McHenry, honoring fallen military members while also sending a clear signal to the…
Fortunately, not all Maryland elected officials have a knee-jerk anti-Trump attitude. Gov. Larry Hogan, a Republican, was not planning to attend Trump’s visit because he was spending the day with his family and celebrating his 64th birthday, the Sun reported Monday. But last week, according to a Thursday Sun report, Hogan’s spokesman welcomed the president’s presence.
“We are honored that the president and first lady have chosen to spend Memorial Day at Fort McHenry,” Hogan communications director Mike Ricci said, according to the Sun. “Although Marylanders are encouraged not to gather in large numbers this year — now more than ever — it’s important to reflect on the American heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.”
Democrats and the mainstream media might do well to remember that honoring those American heroes is what Memorial Day is supposed to be about. For Trump to do that with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, the resting place of so many of those heroes, followed by a trip to the birthplace of the American national anthem isn’t just appropriate, it’s just about perfect.
And the mayor of Baltimore can’t hold the president back.
