While the threat of COVID-19 remains very real, there are many Americans who have found themselves alarmed by some of the more authoritarian precautions being taken in our land of the free.
Tonight, around our nation, cities and towns will be enforcing mandatory and so-called “voluntary” curfews. Businesses have been shuttered. Hell, even some streets have been closed.
On the deeper, dingier parts of the internet there is talk of a “boogaloo” or of martial law coming to our cities. While this speculation may be nothing more than some mildly annoying sensationalism, in Los Angeles, things certainly seem to beheaded in a spooky direction.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti threatened “non-essential” businesses Tuesday that if they do not obey the city’s “stay at home”orderto close during the pandemic crises, he will cut off their water and their electricity.
Speaking at his daily briefing, the mayor described his new enforcement initiative (via KTLA 5):
The mayor went on to announce the “business ambassadors program”— an effort to get nonessential businesses to close.
“This behavior is irresponsible and selfish,” he said of those that remain open.
He said the Department of Water and Power will shut off services for the businesses that don’t comply with the “safer at home” ordinance.
Neighborhood prosecutors will implement safety measures and will contact the businesses before issuing further action, according to Garcetti.
“The easiest way to avoid a visit is to follow the rules,” he said.
The only weapon that the human race has to use against coronavirus is “social distancing”, in which we will work to starve the virus by ending its spread.
Obviously, some locales are taking this more seriously than others.
I know that what I am about to say will not be received by many people. This is just my observation based on years of reporting on politics and politicians. I certainly do not claim to be any form of an expert. I have an opinion based on what I’ve known to be true.
The is an old saying, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” History has proved that saying true countless times. For some people, given absolute power goes to their ego’s and they run wild with their absolute control. It always requires some form of force to make it stop, or to remove them from power.
In recent years as the democrats have moved steadily left toward socialism, their thirst for control has grown too. We’ve seen that most obviously here in California. Our state is firmly in the fist of socialist who continue to pass more and more draconian laws. Taxes increased, freedoms diminished, bureaucracy has grown exponentially and ask any business about regulations and regulators.
When all the “recommendations” of “social distancing” came out, the felling was one of suggestion, not “martial law” orders. The “Stay at home” “suggestion” seemed reasonable. Made since and most people complied because of the reasonable logic of the “request.
“Suggestion” and “urging” has become “demand or else” orders, including arresting people, and/or slapping them with be fines. That begs some questions;
When did any legislature meet to write, and pass laws for any governing authority to force citizens to remain confined to their homes?
Then, how is any policing authority going to enforce laws that do not exist?
Now that they have us confined in our homes, what is the next draconian step to remove more freedoms?
When does it end?
As I am writing this I have the television on and they just played a snip-it of a politician threatening their citizens of severe repercussions if they don’t comply to “orders“. That’s NOT suggestion, plea or desire. That’s tyrannical orders. Yes, I know they are concerned about this virus, yet they never show the same concern over annual flu season that has proven to kill more people.
Yes, there are many people in our country that rebel against authority. Yes. There are people who will do what they want to do regardless of any appeal. Draconian practices are not the answer. Using fear and intimidation to control the populace has been used by governing authorities for centuries. That’s what makes me suspicious of the Eric Garcetti’s and Gavin Newsome’s, and any other authority that makes demands with threats they cannot back up with law.
I am suspicious of all politicians. History is on my side.
That’s it. Got it off my chest. I don’t want to add to anyone’s fears.
Biden said, “We don’t need the kind of talk is president is using. In fact, the president has to stop the belittling of the governors with whom he disagrees, stop making accusations that somehow some New York hospitals are — they all of a sudden they need more masks, we ought to investigate them. Maybe they are going out the back door. What is that all about? That is bizarre, absolutely bizarre. Get the help to where it is needed now. And what they are doing right is they should let Dr. Fauci and the experts run the show, speak more, let them lay out exactly what is happening. Just tell the truth to the American people. They are tough. They can take it. But don’t mislead them.”
He continued, “Let’s do everything in our power to do it. And the social distancing the president gets around to it really late. He talked about social distancing not being required. Then he said it is going to be required, but everybody will be in church on Easter. Now he is acknowledging that’s not going to happen. I mean, let’s just level with the American people.”
He added, “Mr. President, let’s get things done. Let’s put the politics aside. You know we need more of everything. Why are you not insisting it be produced and demanding it using your presidential authority to get it done? Nobody disagrees with that. Get it done. Step up and do your job. Stop campaigning.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio threatened to close churches and synagogues “permanently” if they refuse to stop services during the coronavirus outbreak.
A federal judge in Texas with a long history of siding with abortion advocates ruled today that Texas abortion centers can defy the governor’s order to stop non-essential medical procedures instead of helping coronavirus patients by conserving medical resources during the pandemic.
Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne, pastor of The River at Tampa Bay Church, was arrested at his home today by Hernando County Sheriff Deputies for holding a church service yesterday.
Unborn babies are being saved from abortions in Alabama as abortion facilities comply with a state order banning non-essential medical procedures during the coronavirus pandemic.
Beginning on Friday, the Trump administration showed once again (and then again on Saturday) what a difference it makes to have a pro-lifer in the White House.
The Trump administration has issued a directive for hospitals and medical centers providing care for patients with the coronavirus, ensuring that no health care is rationed for patients who are elderly or disabled.
A sickening new article published by the New York Times Friday viciously claims the “road to Coronavirus hell” was “paved by Evangelicals” and other religious Americans; directly blaming hundreds of deaths and thousands of infections on people of faith.
“Donald Trump rose to power with the determined assistance of a movement that denies science, bashes government and prioritized loyalty over professional expertise. In the current crisis, we are all reaping what that movement has sown,”writes Katherine Stewart.
“By all accounts, President Trump’s tendency to trust his gut over the experts on issues like vaccines and climate change does not come from any deep-seated religious conviction. But he is perfectly in tune with the religious nationalists who form the core of his base. In his daily briefings from the White House, Mr. Trump actively disdains and contradicts the messages coming from his own experts and touts as yet unproven cures,” adds the author.
“When a strong centralized response is needed from the federal government, it doesn’t help to have an administration that has never believed in a federal government serving the public good. Ordinarily, the consequences of this kind of behavior don’t show up for some time. In the case of a pandemic, the consequences are too obvious to ignore,” Stewart concludes.
The Religious Right’s Hostility to Science Is Crippling Our Coronavirus Response

Ms. Stewart is the author of “The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism.”
Donald Trump rose to power with the determined assistance of a movement that denies science, bashes government and prioritized loyalty over professional expertise. In the current crisis, we are all reaping what that movement has sown.
At least since the 19th century, when the proslavery theologian Robert Lewis Dabney attacked the physical sciences as “theories of unbelief,” hostility to science has characterized the more extreme forms of religious nationalism in the United States. Today, the hard core of climate deniers is concentrated among people who identify as religiously conservative Republicans. And some leaders of the Christian nationalist movement, like those allied with the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, which has denounced environmental science as a “Cult of the Green Dragon,” cast environmentalism as an alternative — and false — theology.
This denial of science and critical thinking among religious ultraconservatives now haunts the American response to the coronavirus crisis. On March 15, Guillermo Maldonado, who calls himself an “apostle” and hosted Mr. Trump earlier this year at a campaign event at his Miami megachurch, urged his congregants to show up for worship services in person. “Do you believe God would bring his people to his house to be contagious with the virus? Of course not,” he said.
Rodney Howard-Browne of The River at Tampa Bay Church in Florida mocked people concerned about the disease as “pansies” and insisted he would only shutter the doors to his packed church “when the rapture is taking place.” In a sermon that was live-streamed on Facebook, Tony Spell, a pastor in Louisiana, said, “We’re also going to pass out anointed handkerchiefs to people who may have a fear, who may have a sickness and we believe that when those anointed handkerchiefs go, that healing virtue is going to go on them as well.”
By all accounts, President Trump’s tendency to trust his gut over the experts on issues like vaccines and climate change does not come from any deep-seated religious conviction. But he is perfectly in tune with the religious nationalists who form the core of his base. In his daily briefings from the White House, Mr. Trump actively disdains and contradicts the messages coming from his own experts and touts as yet unproven cures.
Not every pastor is behaving recklessly, of course, and not every churchgoer in these uncertain times is showing up for services out of disregard for the scientific evidence. Far from it. Yet none of the benign uses of religion in this time of crisis have anything to do with Mr. Trump’s expressed hope that the country would be “opened up and just raring to go by Easter.” He could, of course, have said, “by mid-April.” But Mr. Trump did not invoke Easter by accident, and many of his evangelical allies were pleased by his vision of “packed churches all over our country.”
Religious nationalism has brought to American politics the conviction that our political differences are a battle between absolute evil and absolute good. When you’re engaged in a struggle between the “party of life” and the “party of death,” as some religious nationalists now frame our political divisions, you don’t need to worry about crafting careful policy based on expert opinion and analysis. Only a heroic leader, free from the scruples of political correctness, can save the righteous from the damned. Fealty to the cause is everything; fidelity to the facts means nothing. Perhaps this is why many Christian nationalist leaders greeted the news of the coronavirus as an insult to their chosen leader.
In an interview on March 13 on “Fox & Friends,” Jerry Falwell Jr., the president of Liberty University, called the response to Coronavirus “hype” and “overreacting.” “You know, impeachment didn’t work, and the Mueller report didn’t work, and Article 25 didn’t work, and so maybe now this is their next, ah, their next attempt to get Trump,” he said.
When Rev. Spell in Louisiana defied an order from Gov. John Bel Edwards and hosted in-person services for over 1,000 congregants, he asserted the ban was “politically motivated.” Figures like the anti-L.G.B.T. activist Steve Hotze added to the chorus, denouncing the concern as — you guessed it — “fake news.”
One of the first casualties of fact-free hyper-partisanship is competence in government. The incompetence of the Trump administration in grappling with this crisis is by now well known, at least among those who receive actual news. February 2020 will go down in history as the month in which the United States, in painful contrast with countries like South Korea and Germany, failed to develop the mass testing capability that might have saved many lives. Less well known is the contribution of the Christian nationalist movement in ensuring that our government is in the hands of people who appear to be incapable of running it well.
Consider the case of Alex Azar, who as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services has had a prominent role in mismanaging the crisis. It seems likely at this point that Mr. Azar’s signature achievement will have been to rebrand his department as the “Department of Life.” Or maybe he will be remembered for establishing a division of Conscience and Religious Freedom, designed to permit health care providers to deny legal and often medically indicated health care services to certain patients as a matter of religious conscience.
Former Vice President Joe Biden’s campaign pain worst fears are coming true, some Bernie Sanders supporters are going to sabotage him in the general election come November and most Democrats are not thrilled he’s going to be the nominee.
ABC News/Washington Post released a poll on Sunday and none of it is good news for Joe Biden…None of it. Also, since this poll is being conducted by ABC and WashPo I would bet it’s even worse then they are reporting.
Biden has the lowest enthusiasm support on record for a Democratic presidential candidate in the last 20 years, Biden has just 24%. Meanwhile, at least 53% (you know it’s more than that) of President Trump’s supporters are highly enthusiastic about his re-election (try at least 80%).
One bombshell in this report is that ABC News is stating that 15% of those that supported Senator Bernie Sanders will vote for President Donald Trump.
ABC News tried to sound the alarm:
The Democrats’ biggest risk is under the surface, in Trump’s big advantage in backers who are “very” enthusiastic about supporting him. Strong enthusiasm for a candidate can help boost turnout on Election Day, a must-have particularly for Democrats, who rely more on motivating less-frequent voters to come to the polls.
While trailing Trump by 29 points in high-level enthusiasm, Biden makes up some of the difference with those who are “somewhat” enthusiastic. But he still trails Trump by 12 points in the combined measure, 74 vs. 86%.
Hidden three-quarters of the way down the article is the real bunker buster:
Even among those who support Biden for the nomination, his very enthusiastic support against Trump is just 39% (with an additional 50% somewhat enthusiastic). That’s dwarfed by strong enthusiasm for Trump among his supporters, including a peak of 81% among strong conservatives and broad majorities of Republicans, seniors and rural residents.
ABC News also pointed out in their poll that three other candidates experienced close to the same poor numbers Clinton, Romney, and McCain. Considering all three of those candidates lost in the general election it appears that Biden worst fears are coming true.
With only her dog for company, a 4-year-old girl survived alone in the Alabama woods before an army of volunteers and law enforcement came together to find her not far from where she was last seen two days before.
Evelyn Sides, who goes by Vadie, wandered off into the woods near Loachapoka, Ala., Wednesday afternoon. A call went out a few hours later from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office: authorities were searching for a white female, “3′ tall and weighs 40 pounds. She has red hair and was wearing a blue print dress with green flower patterns. She may be accompanied by a hound dog, reddish in color with a collar.” Authorities said Vadie had been walking her dog while under the watch of a caretaker when she “essentially just disappeared,”according to AL.com.
Lee County Sheriff’s deputies, K-9 units and volunteer fire and rescue personnel were on the trail. All told, hundreds of law enforcement officers from multiple agencies reportedly helped in the search, assisted by drones, people on horseback and even helicopters. Concerned residents flooded the sheriff’s Facebook page: “Any updates?” “Has she been found?” “How can we help?”
After two nights of searching, the sheriff’s office on Friday opened the search to the public. It asked for “able-bodied persons in good physical condition” to help scout the “dense wooded terrain.”
Vadie was found with her dog, Lucy, just a few hours later, within a mile from where she was last seen.
“It was such an amazing sight,” one of the volunteer searchers, Col. Edward D. Casey of the Alabama Air National Guard, told The New York Times.
“She woke up, stood up and we saw it was her. It was so, so surreal and so amazing. And what’s more amazing was how calm she was.”
On Saturday, Vadie’s mother, Amanda Sides, wrote on Facebook: “I do not have enough words to express the proper gratitude to all of our community that came out to help us find this little angel.”
She said Vadie was still recovering in the hospital but she was doing well.
Sides posted a video of Vadie recounting how she got separated from her caretaker, Nanny, in the woods.
“When Nanny decided, let’s go take a walk, and we took a walk, but then I got too fast and got running and got lost and then I started calling for Nanny, but Nanny was too far,” she said.
She said she crossed by somebody’s house. Then “I slided, slided down a waterfall that was so slippery it was just — shoo!” She said she was brave not to go into a house she saw. She said the dog, Lucy, ran off, “but I found her again.” She said she slept by a road the first night and slept in the place “where they found me” on the second night. Lucy reportedly ran off when searchers found Vadie on Friday.
But Saturday, Lee County Sheriff’s Office had an update: “Lucy the dog is home safe as well.”
One of the primary critiques of President Donald Trump’s new border wall is that such a barrier would be ineffective at achieving the stated goal of increasing security. Specifically, some critics have ludicrously claimed that barriers at the border won’t stop drug traffickers and illegal aliens from entering the country. They argue that at best it would be little more than a costly hindrance that could be rapidly overcome.
However, three illegal aliens from Mexico learned the hard way that the border wall critics were incredibly wrong in that assessment.
The trio of interlopers attempting to sneak into the country ended up trapped atop a section of the 30-foot-tall fence in the San Diego, California, area on Jan. 5, The Washington Times reported. After U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted the three perched atop the tall wall, and with an assist from the San Diego Fire Department, they were promptly helped down from the precarious position and taken into custody.
According to a news release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, the three individuals had attempted to use the cover of a dense fog in the area to illegally enter the United States. Unfortunately for them, after reaching the top of the 30-foot steel wall near Otay Mesa, the three intruders found that they were unable to safely descend to the other side of the fence due to the wet and slippery condition of the mist-slicked steel. Making matters worse for them, it also appeared that they had been abandoned and left atop the wall by whoever had initially assisted their attempt to smuggle themselves across the border.
Once safely lowered from the top of the wall, the three individuals — a man and two women — were questioned and discovered to be Mexican nationals who’d illegally entered the country. At that point, they were taken into custody and transported to the nearest Border Patrol station for processing.
“These three were very fortunate to not have fallen from the top of the wall which could have resulted in serious injury or death,” Aaron Heitke, acting Chief Patrol Agent of the San Diego Sector, said in a statement. “These dangers are not important considerations to smugglers, who place an emphasis on profits over safety.”
The Times noted that the three illegals trapped atop the wall were indeed lucky to have not fallen and hurt themselves. Falling off the wall is apparently a fairly regular occurrence that Border Patrol agents must deal with, according to Supervisory Agent Jeffrey Stephenson, who pointed out that injured illegal aliens are immediately given whatever medical attention is necessary as soon as they are discovered.
He explained, “The falls have led to numerous serious injuries including broken legs, broken ankles, skull fractures, brain bleeds, broken scapula, fractured vertebrae, and appendicitis.”
Interestingly, Fox News reported that this incident occurred in an area near San Diego where President Trump’s proposed border wall system has been fully realized. The old 8-foot “landing mat”-style barriers and mesh fences directly on the border had been replaced with 18-foot steel bollards featuring a steel plate at the top, which the three invaders had managed to clear. However, they were stymied by the secondary 30-foot bollard wall that is set back a short distance from the shorter primary wall, creating a sort of corridor between the walls that agents can traverse in their efforts to enforce the border.
The section where the incident occurred was part of a project that started in 2018 to completely replace about 14 miles of the old single barrier that was easily breached with the new double-layered system that has now been proven to be much more difficult to overcome.
It should be obvious to all that, despite what the naysayers may claim, the new border wall system is being built — slowly but surely — and it is rather effective at preventing illegal incursions or, at the very least, slowing down and delaying interlopers until they can be apprehended by agents.

Really, What is going on? The data just don’t add up.
The MSM and Democrats claim there are not enough hospital beds for the current 85,000 people identified with the coronavirus, many of whom will never even enter a hospital due to their relatively minor condition. Also, in 2018-19 there were plenty of beds for the nearly 500,000 patients that spent time in hospitals, due to the flu.
Via the CDC – there were 490,000 hospitalizations during the 2018-2019 flu season.
And yet the media want you to believe the US will run out of hospital beds during the coronavirus. This is not likely.
The data to date show that most individuals with the coronavirus suffer from very mild conditions. The panic-driven Washington Post even reported that 82% of these individuals with the coronavirus suffer from mild conditions.
Assuming the remaining require hospitalization (which is unlikely but conservative), then only 15,300 people currently require hospitalizations across the US. Of course this too is conservative because many of these cases in the US are already recovered and the individuals no longer suffer from the virus from China.
So the lefties Mainstream Media (MSM) want us to believe that hospital beds will be overwhelmed by the coronavirus by 15,000 patients (at most to date) but a year ago the US hospitals were not overwhelmed by 500,000 flu patients.
Other numbers from the media were based on the Imperial College report that warned that 2 million Americans and half a million British citizens would die from the coronavirus this year.
Yesterday they backtracked on their study and now claim only 20,000 in Britain will succumb to the coronavirus. Great Britain has 29,000 flu deaths a year on average. So now they are saying the coronavirus is less deadly than a typical flu virus.
Chinese state media confirmed on Wednesday the legitimacy of an image circulating online of a Shenyang, China, restaurant banner celebrating Chinese coronavirus deaths in the United States. / Weibo
Chinese state media confirmed on Wednesday the legitimacy of an image circulating online of a Shenyang, China, restaurant banner celebrating Chinese coronavirus deaths in the United States.
The Global Times, a state-run publication that has run conspiracy theories accusing the U.S. Army of artificially engineering the Wuhan virus and unleashing it as an attack on the Chinese state, identified the offending restaurant as “Mother Yang’s Porridge Restaurant”and claimed that police arrested the manager responsible for putting up a banner apparently wishing for the pandemic China allowed to occur to do as much damage in the United States and Japan as possible.
“Celebrating the epidemic in the U.S. and wishing coronavirus a nice trip to Japan,” a large red banner over the restaurant read, according to the Global Times’ translation. Other translations note that the Chinese characters also insult Japan as “little” and hope the virus spread “forever after that [arrival into Japan]”:
Jennifer Zeng 曾錚@jenniferatntd
Banner at restaurant in #CCP ruled #China says: “Congratulations on the #epidemic in the US! We wish the epidemic in dwarf Japan will last forever and ever!”
What do you think? I call it anti-humanity. Do these kinds of people have the right to protest again “racism”? #CCPVirus
The Times claimed that the business itself profusely apologized on government-run social media and fired the manager that put up the decoration, in addition to police detaining the person. The restaurant claimed owners were not notified or aware of the banner before it went up.
The newspaper identified the manager as a 30-something worker who had been there for some time and claimed that the banner was only up for about 90 minutes before police arrived at the scene. As China does not allow independent media outlets to operate within its borders, there are no independent reports confirming that this was the case. The news service UPI identified the manager as having the last name “Hui,” but not much more is known about the person or his or her fate after being detained by Chinese police.
The banner appeared to celebrate the growing numbers of deaths in both Japan and America. At press time, Japan has documented 1,307 cases of Chinese coronavirus nationwide and 45 deaths. In the United States, which has a much larger population than Japan, medical experts have logged more than 69,000 coronavirus cases and 1,046 deaths. Both nations are attempting to limit social contact to slow the spread of the highly contagious Chinese virus, though America has currently taken much more extreme measures in banning many American businesses from operating, triggering record numbers of jobless claims nationwide.
While the Global Times wrote of the celebration of American deaths on the part of Mother Yang’s, it has participated in the evidence-free accusations that Washington is responsible for the pandemic. An article in the state-run publication this month claimed that a U.S. Army facility in Fort Detrick, Maryland, was responsible for engineering a new form of coronavirus to be more contagious and difficult to treat. Chinese government officials also propagated the conspiracy theory. In the United States, Chinese Foreign Ministry official Zhao Lijian wrote on Twitter, “It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan.”
The Communist Party bans citizens who are not high-ranking Party members from using Twitter. Twitter has refused to hold Chinese officials to its terms of service about sharing dangerous disinformation.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly condemned Beijing for baselessly accusing the United States of fabricating the disease.
“My concern is that this cover-up, this disinformation that the Chinese Communist Party is engaged in, is still denying the world the information it needs so that we can prevent further cases or something like this from recurring again,” Pompeo said this week. “The disinformation campaign from Russia and Iran as well as China continues. They’re talking about it coming from the U.S. Army, and they’re saying maybe it began in Italy, all things to deflect responsibility.”
The Chinese coronavirus originated in Wuhan, central China, in November. Chinese officials did nothing about the growing outbreak for months until privately alerting the World Health Organization (WHO) in January and shutting down a wild meat market that it believed was the origin location for the outbreak, as coronaviruses tend to infect humans after living in animals through consumption. Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, is home to 11 million people and to China’s Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, which is licensed to handle the world’s most dangerous pathogens. The Chinese government boasted that the facility identified the Wuhan virus as a new pathogen at a breakneck pace.
That month – after January 20, when China finally told the world it had identified a new virus – the WHO told the world that, according to Chinese scientists, the coronavirus was not contagious from human to human. Scientists now know that this was not true, and the Chinese coronavirus is highly contagious, thus allegedly necessitating the shutdown of nearly the entirety of the American economy.
A February study also found evidence that the virus did not originate at the shut-down meat market, also raising questions as to China’s initial response to what is now a pandemic.
A study by the University of Southhampton found this month that had the Communist Party not detained doctors warning in December and January about a contagious disease spreading in Wuhan and otherwise silenced evidence about the outbreak, about 95 percent of the world’s coronavirus cases could have been prevented.

Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown called for a new global government to fight the impact of the coronavirus and coordinate production and distribution of essential equipment.

THE ORIGINAL IMAGE:
Isn’t that why we have a World Health Organization (WHO)?
And are they the ones who screwed up their response and lied about the mortality rate?
Former prime minister Gordon Brown has called for the creation of a temporary form of global government to be assembled to provide a unified body to tackle coronavirus.
Such an organisation could tackle the spread of the virus, coordinate production and distribution of essential equipment, and help deal with the economic fallout from the pandemic, he said.
Mr Brown’s suggestion comes ahead of an emergency video conference of the G20 countries, which even before it has begun has already seen a standoff between the US and China over responsibility for the virus.
The summit, hosted by Saudi Arabia, is designed to produce new practical measures to deal with the disease, but a coordinated fiscal response to the crisis is not expected to be agreed.
Mr Brown said the summit also ought to include the United Nations security council.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) excoriated Democrats from the Senate floor Monday for using the coronavirus relief bill to push their far-left agenda.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) introduced House Democrats’ coronavirus relief bill on Monday after she torpedoed the bipartisan agreement reached by the Senate. Pelosi’s bill includes billions of dollars for items completely unrelated to COVID-19 relief, including:
A bailout for the U.S. Postal Service
Student loan debt forgiveness
Required same-day voter registration
Airline emissions standards regulations
Study on climate change migration
Collective bargaining provisions
Increased federal minimum wage for companies that accept government loans
Publication of race and pay statistics for corporate boards
There’s even a requirement that the federal government use more minority banks and credit unions
The bill would cost taxpayers more than $2.5 trillion and would require certain Americans — individuals who make more than $75,000 and couples who make more than $150,000 in 2020 — to pay back the stimulus check, essentially forcing a significant portion of Americans to receive a government loan.
In response, Cruz unloaded on Pelosi and the Democratic caucus for the pork-filled bill.
A number of people have cited the famed quote of Rahm Emanuel: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” Sadly, we are seeing the embodiment of that cynical approach right now because all of the people out of jobs, the Democrats are using to push — what are they pushing for? Changing the emissions standards on airplanes.
Mr. president, what the hell do the emissions standards on airplanes have to do with thousands of people dying and millions of people out of work during the coronavirus epidemic? Don’t treat this bill like a partisan Christmas.
Republicans have things we would like to advance, too, things I believe in deeply. You want to talk about what I would like to do? I would like to abolish the IRS. I campaigned all over the country for that. I will continue fighting for that, but I am not standing here with an amendment, saying: As part of this emergency relief, let’s abolish the IRS. There is a place for that political and policy discussion.
The Democrats are pushing wind and solar tax credits. Mr. president, what in the hell does a windmill have to do with this crisis, other than some Democratic lobbyists getting fat and rich, and they are willing to extort a crisis to try to advance their political agenda?
In the end, Cruz said responding to the COVID-19 crisis will “require adults to step up and lead” and urged both Democrats and Republicans to not engage in political gamesmanship.
Utah, like nearly every state with Democrat or liberal Republican leadership, has released some criminals from prison, supposedly under the guise of avoiding spread of the virus in prison. What they are really doing is spreading the disease of crime into our communities.
Joshua Haskell, 42, of American Fork, Utah is someone deemed by the liberal politicians as a “nonviolent, low-level” offender. He was released on March 17 from a halfway house, pursuant to an incomprehensible order to release low-level offenders into the community during the coronavirus epidemic. Just two days later, he was arrested in the home of a woman after he allegedly attacked the homeowner with a knife in her bed.
According to the charging documents, as reported by the Deseret News, the woman awoke to find Haskell standing over her bed. When she screamed, he threatened to cut her with a knife and proceeded to tie her up in bed. He demanded her bank cards and PIN numbers and threatened to come back and kill her if she gave him the wrong information. According to the affidavit, police showed up after her son called 911 with Haskell still in her bedroom. He allegedly crawled into bed with her and told her to tell police he was her lover. She finally managed to make a quick escape downstairs to the officers.
Haskell was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping, among other crimes.
Like all “low-level” offenders, Haskell had a lengthy criminal history, including four drug convictions and parole violations. Police say he had drugs on him at the time of this offense. This is the big lie I’ve long exposed regarding the nature of drug offenders. Yes, there are some drug offenders who might not commit other crimes, but those are usually the ones sent to drug diversion court. If you are serving time for drug offenses nowadays, it means you are a career criminal. With Haskell, the proof is in the pudding. By definition, if someone is in prison or a halfway house, this is not his first time in the system.
Yet these are the sorts of criminals who are being released throughout the country at a time like this! Authorities are not checking their prior criminal records and parole violations. How many more of these people will commit crimes that we will never hear about in the national media, or often even in local media?
Now, many states are closing gun stores, so single women who live at home during this time of great peril and criminal release cannot purchase guns. L.A. police, after being forced to release criminals onto the streets, are now going store to store and shutting down gun dealers.
And they want us to know they mean business. “The time for warning is over,”threatened New Jersey’s Attorney General Gurbir Grewal. “There will be serious legal consequences.”
When have we ever heard these people talk that way about real criminals? In fact, they have been letting them go.
This is rapidly devolving into the worst mix of fascism on the one hand and anarchism on the other hand. Law-abiding citizens are being shut down, but criminals are being released. Don’t tell me that this perverse amalgamation of policy outcomes is somehow all about public safety.
Americans must rise up and demand no new rules against peaceful Americans until the criminals are put back in jail and we are given the right to defend ourselves.

At least some Texas abortion businesses have closed temporarily or stopped doing abortions in response to an order from pro-life Governor Greg Abbott to halt all non-essential medical procedures to preserve medical resources to fight the coronavirus crisis.
Never let a good crisis good to waste. Democrats in Congress are taking those words to heart and exploiting the coronavirus crisis to attempt to force Americans to fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Texas abortion businesses are desperate to keep killing babies in abortions during the coronavirus crisis and they filed a lawsuit this afternoon against pro-life Governor Greg Abbott.
Actress and abortion activist Alyssa Milano criticized Texas this week for banning abortions, along with a long list of elective medical procedures, in its efforts to combat the coronavirus.

President Donald Trump put his foot down on Democrats’ attempts to advance their leftist political agenda by hijacking the coronavirus relief bill and filling it with partisan demands that are not related to the coronavirus crisis. The president made the announcement late on Monday night after Democrats ruined an opportunity to advance a $1.8 trillion stimulus bill on Sunday night.
“Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “The Democrats want the Virus to win? They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!”

Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation. The Democrats want the Virus to win? They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!
About an hour later, Trump quote retweeted an article from National Review that was titled: “Congressional Democrats Add Last-Minute Ideological Demands to Coronavirus Relief Package”. Trump wrote: “This will never be approved by me, or any other Republican!” The article listed a number of things that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have added to the spending bill.
On Monday, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) highlighted some of the spending items that Democrats are seeking that have nothing to do with the coronavirus:
Corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards at companies receiving assistance.
Bailing out all current debt of postal service
Required early voting
Required same day voter registration
10k bailout for student loans
For companies accepting assistance, 1/3 of board members must be chosen by workers
Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
Greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
$15 minimum wage at companies receiving assistance
Permanent paid leave at companies receiving assistance
USA Today noted that Pelosi’s bill calls for nationwide ballot harvesting, a shady practice that is believed to lead to voter fraud:
Perhaps the most troubling sections of the bill are under the rubric ‘‘American Coronavirus/COVID–19 Election Safety and Security”or ‘‘ACCESS” Act. This section would impose requirements on states for early voting, voting by mail, required mailing of absentee ballots to everyone, ballot harvesting (i.e., having third parties deliver absentee ballots), online voter registration, same-day registration and other practices which undermine confidence in the integrity of the ballot. In these days of increasing threats to election security we should be moving rapidly back to in-person paper ballots, but this bill would be a radical step in the wrong direction.
Some of the other absurd things that were included in the bill include $35,000,000 for the JFK Performing Arts Center.

-Credit to businesses across America to keep them afloat

They have no good reasons. Just partisanship. Call your reps NOW.
You came in 1918 as the Spanish Flu, infected one-third of us and killed over 50 million of us. Then you vanished as fast as you came.
You returned in 1957 as the Asian Flu and killed two million of us. Then you were gone.
You appeared again in 2009 as H1N1 – the Swine Flu. You infected a quarter of us and 200,000 of us died – less than the deaths each year from the common flu.
And here you are again today.
Each time we call you a Pandemic. Each time we panic. Each time you kill far less of us but we panic far more.
Because you are not a pandemic of death or even disease. You are a pandemic of fear.
In 2009 that fear showed up in our media, in our stock markets, and in our, every day lives. And you’ve given us that same big fright today.
But you’ve been here enough times that this time it’s different. This time we see you for who you really are: A global ghost of our worries, anxieties and deepest fears. And as with any ghost, you can only grow if we feed you. And if we don’t, you disappear. (John 10:10- “The thief [Satan] comes only to steal and kill and destroy…”
So this time, instead of fear, we choose freedom. “But now, this is what the Lord says…Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”~ Isaiah 43:1
Instead of panic, we chose peace. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7
Instead of loss, we chose love. “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”– I John 4:16

Senile ol’ Joe Biden does it again, this time claiming he was a professor at University Of Pennsylvania after he left the Senate. Apparently he forgot that he was Vice President after leaving the Senate. For 8 years.
This was apparently part of some online streaming town hall on NBC to discuss the coronavirus. Here’s the video in full, though it doesn’t actually start until around the 55:10 mark, then, with no intro, it awkwardly hard cuts into Joe already talking.
The former vice president collected $371,159 in 2017 plus $540,484 in 2018 and early 2019 for a vaguely defined role that involved no regular classes and around a dozen public appearances on campus, mostly in big, ticketed events.
Penn’s payments to Biden raised eyebrows and questions among some in the community when they were revealed this week as part of the financial disclosures for his presidential campaign. The average salary for a Penn professor was $217,411 in the 2017-18 academic year, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Biden’s official title was the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor — the first person to hold that job — and he also lent his name to the school’s effort to expand its footprint on international affairs.
At the same time, Biden kept up a schedule of paid speeches to other audiences, including $190,000 at Drew University in Madison, N.J., on March 28 and $180,000 at Vanderbilt University on April 10, the day before he returned for a talk on opioids at Penn.
Tuesday on ABC’s “The View,” 2020 Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden had a confusing answer when asked about the coronavirus outbreak.
Co-host Sara Haines asked, “We talked about Trump saying the government would reassess the wrecked period for keeping businesses shut and people at home. Are you at all concerned as Trump said that we cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself?”
Biden responded,“We have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse, no matter what. No matter what. We know what has to be done. We know you have to— you’re tired of hearing the phrase, you got to flatten that curve where it’s going up like this, people getting it, and then it comes down. We got to flatten that curve, and we got to make sure that once, in fact, we have this under control, it doesn’t come back. So we should be focusing on getting all the help necessary in terms of testing, in terms of access to the gear that our first responders, our doctors, our nurses need in treating people.”
He added, “We should be getting extra beds, hospital beds in the major cities around the country, in the rule areas. I have a map here. You can’t see it. A map here from the docs that sent it to me. There’s a number of areas in the middle of the country and up north where, in fact, there are no ICU units. We have to get help there. We should be focusing on surging data, surging equipment, surging testing, surging all this information, and all this capability around the country. That’s the first and foremost thing we should be doing instead of waiting around.”

UPDATE: Text of the provisions has been added below.
As previously reported, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came back to Washington D.C. last night after a week long recess and blew up days of emergency relief work done by the Senate. She wants to write her own far left bill and now we know what will be in it.
According to a source close to the process on Capitol Hill, in order to move forward with any kind of relief package, Pelosi and her far-left Democrat caucus will demand the following be included:
-Publication of corporate pay statistics by race and race statistics for all corporate boards
-A bail out on all current debt at the Postal Service
-Required early voting
-Required same day voter registration
-Provisions on official time for union collective bargaining
-Full offset of airline emissions by 2025
-Publication and reporting of greenhouse gas statistics for individual flights
-Retirement plans for community newspaper employees
-Federal $15 minimum wage
-Permanent paid leave
-Study on climate change mitigation efforts
The provisions will apply to the companies and business rescued by the bill.

Senate spends all weekend negotiating a bipartisan deal. Agreement reached. Pelosi flies in from California, whips out her unrelated “wishlist,” and says no. Senate Democrats then vote against proceeding on a bill they negotiated.
Because if they drag it out a little longer, they can do in some more businesses, cost people more jobs and that might hurt President Donald Trump, so it can be his “Katrina.” This is just despicable.
A lot of people are getting the message on social media about what the Democrats did.
But apparently Americans who read the New York Times aren’t supposed to really understand what went down, at least not if you check how the headline on the story about the Democrats blocking the stimulus package has changed.
Ken Farnaso, the deputy press secretary for the Trump campaign, picked it up.
But apparently that first change wasn’t good enough, because people could still read it was the Democrats who blocked relief for Americans. So the headline got yet another rewrite.
“Democrats block” was changed to “partisan divide.” But as Elizabeth Harrington, GOP national spokesperson, observed, “Who is being “partisan”? Democrat leaders are blocking a bill negotiated by their own members.”
So how does this work? Does Pelosi or Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) make a call? Or is there a special person supervising the headlines to make sure they’re Democrat-friendly and compliant?
Democrats are playing with people’s lives and livelihoods. But apparently the “paper of record” doesn’t think that’s important to say in a headline.
Beware, to start this week the Democrats are trying to create a news story to split the unity of President Trump’s team. They are trying to create a clash from the outside and get Dr. Fauci and the President to openly disagree and cause a rupture in the team.
Axios started the rumor and it was pushed by Congressman Ted Leui they are claiming despite there being no evidence of this that senior officials in the Trump Administration are losing patience with the doctor’s orders.
Here’s what Axios wrote:
Amid dire predictions for jobs and the economy, the White House is beginning to send signals to business that there’s light at the end of the tunnel — that the squeeze from nationwide social distancing won’t be endless.
Trump tweeted at 10 minutes to midnight: “WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD [which began a week ago, March 16], WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!”
Vice President Pence, who heads the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force, had signaled the change in tone earlier when he said the CDC will issue guidance today allowing people exposed to the coronavirus to return to work sooner by wearing a mask for a certain length of time.
Here’s where they are attempting to implement the divide…
Taken together, Trump’s tweet and Pence’s comment supply the strongest public signals we’ve seen that the administration is looking for ways to get people out in the world again to fire up the economy — perhaps much sooner than Dr. Fauci would like.
Trump is responding both to his own instincts and tomessages that key outside allies have been sending for days.
He retweeted a number of those outside allies echoing similar stances on Monday morning.
Lastly, they wrote, “At the end of the 15-day period, there will likely be a serious clash between the public health experts — who will almost certainly favor a longer period of nationwide social distancing and quarantining — versus the president and his economic and political aides, who are anxious to restart the economy.”
Right on cue, the Rep. Ted Leui tweeted the story claiming that the clash it’s ridiculous and irresponsible like this was happening right now.
There is no clash, the President and the coronavirus team have not announced any changes in the social distance plan. The President’s tweet was in response to Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s decision to destroy the economic emergency stimulus bill that is now tanking the economy.
There is no clash, the media is creating a false narrative to make it appear the President doesn’t care about you, only the economy, he’s stupid, and he doesn’t listen to experts.
Sen. John Kennedy unloaded on his Democratic colleagues from the Senate Floor Monday; saying the United States was “founded by geniuses” but is now being run by a “bunch of idiots.”
“You know what the American people are thinking right now? They’re thinking that this country was founded by geniuses but is being run by a bunch of idiots,” said Sen. Kennedy. “You know what they’re thinking? They’re thinking why do members of the US Senate continue to double-down on stupid?”
“This is not a Republican bill. This is a bipartisan bill. We’ve spent hours negotiating provisions with our Democratic friends. This is not a slush fund. It’s a bill to help people and businesses in America,” he added.

Rio Giardinieri, 52, contracted the coronavirus COVID-19, he thinks when he was at a conference in New York. He is vice president of a company that makes cooking equipment for high-end restaurants around the world, but suddenly he was too tired to do much of anything.
He had a fever “for five days, horrendous back pain, headache, cough, and tiredness and was was sleeping about 15 hours a day — when he’s used to getting five hours a night,” FOX-10 reported. It got so bad that after a week in the hospital, Giardinieri said goodbye to his wife and children.
He says his doctors did not want to see him so he drove to Joe DiMaggio hospital in South Florida, near his home, and nearly passed out waiting to get tested. Doctors diagnosed him with pneumonia and coronavirus. They put him on oxygen in the ICU but he says he was still unable to breathe. After more than a week, he says doctors told him there was really nothing more they could do. Friday evening, he said goodbye to his wife and three children.
“I was at the point where I was barely able to speak and breathing was very challenging. I really thought my end was there. I had been through nine days of solid pain and for me, the end was there. So I made some calls to say in my own way goodbye to my friends and family.” A dear friend immediately sent him a recent article about hydroxychloroquine, an old anti-malaria medicine proven successful to treat COVID-19 patients overseas, and insisted he take the drug.
But Giardinieri wasn’t done fighting, so he got in touch with an infectious disease doctor. “He gave me all the reasons why I would probably not want to try it because there are no trials, there’s no testing, it was not something that was approved. And I said look I don’t know if I’m going to make it until the morning because at that point I really thought I was coming to the end because I couldn’t breathe anymore. He agreed and authorized the use of it and 30 minutes later the nurse gave it to me,” he told FOX-10.
”An hour after an IV with the medicine, he says his heart felt like it was beating out of his chest. “They had to come in and get me calmed down and take care of me. I had another episode about two hours later where I just got to the point where I couldn’t breathe and my heart was pounding again so they gave me some Benadryl through the system and something else. I’m not sure what it was. It allowed me to go to sleep and when I woke up at exactly 4:45 in the morning, I woke up like nothing ever happened.”Miraculously, he’s since had no fever or pain, feels fine and he’s able to breathe again.
“To me, there was no doubt in mind that I wouldn’t make it until morning,” Giardinieri said. “So to me the drug saved my life. … I just want everyone to know there’s an option. You don’t have to just sit there and hydrate. There’s a medicine that’s working.”
President Trump on Saturday expressed optimism about two drugs that he said could be “one of the biggest game changers” in medicine – hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin. Hydroxychloroquine is a drug used in the treatment and prevention of malaria. Azithromycin is an antibiotic that is used to treat many different types of infections in the respiratory system, eyes, ears, and skin, as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
On Monday, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, announced that the first trial vaccine for the coronavirus is now being tested. The trial taking place in Seattle, which has been a hotbed for COVID-19. The test includes 45 people age 18-55 and they are receiving two injections, one at zero days, one at 28 days. The individuals will then be followed for one year. The trial results is still months away.
But the doctor also said on Friday that hydroxychloroquine is not the answer right now. “Many things you hear out there are what I call anecdotal reports. They may be true, but they’re anecdotal… If you really want to definitively know if something works, you have to do the kind of trial that you get the good information with.”
Update: The Worldometer later moved back their total US coronavirus cases to 32,356 which puts the rate at 1.25% — still much lower than the 3.4% rate estimated by the WHO.
* * * * * * * * * * *
The US coronavirus mortality rate dipped to 1.25% on Sunday using deaths (396) divided by confirmed cases (38,167).
That number is actually SIGNIFICANTLY lower if you factor in ALL OF THE CASES that are not being reported, where people are not feeling sick enough to be tested.
That number could be 6-7 times higher than the current number of 38,167.
The mortality rate for the coronavirus in the US continues to fall as more and more Americans are able to be tested.

Thanks to the fraudulent numbers by the WHO the global economies are in a complete meltdown over the coronavirus panic.
Now, after several days of testing, the numbers are starting to look more and more like what you would expect from a harsh flu season.
PERSPECTIVE: ** The 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic killed 675,000 out of US population of 103,268,000 or about — 1 in 200 ** The 2020 Coronavirus has killed 396 (so far) out of a population of 333,546,000 or a little more than — 1 in a million
As we have reported several times now — the Director of the World Health Organization created an international panic when he miscalculated the coronavirus mortality rate at 3.4%.
The controversial Ethiopian politician and Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, claimed in a press conference in early March that the fatality rate for the coronavirus was many multiples that of the fatality rate of the common flu.
While many people globally have built up immunity to seasonal flu strains, COVID-19 is a new virus to which no one has immunity. That means more people are susceptible to infection, and some will suffer severe disease.
Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.
This statement led to the greatest panic in world history as the global elite media shared and repeated that the coronavirus was many, many times more deadly than the common flu.
The problem is his statement is false.
It was not accurate!
As The Gateway Pundit reported Monday, the coronavirus mortality rate reported by the media as stated by Dr. Ghebreyesus is completely inaccurate.
He overstated the coronavirus mortality rate. You can read more on that here.
According to the weekly CDC flu report — flu deaths are up by 1,000 over last week.
And according to the global coronavirus trackers US coronavirus deaths are up by 396 for the entire year on Sunday.
The coronavirus panic may end up mathematical error in global history.
A specific combination of existing drugs has shown it is capable of wiping out the #coronavirus in a study conducted in France. NY will start clinical drug trials on Tuesday for two newly approved drugs by the FDA including Chloroquine, which is used to treat malaria.
New York State will start trial testing antiviral medicines on Tuesday in an ongoing effort to stem the coronavirus pandemic statewide, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced on Sunday.
70,000 Hydroxychloroquine –
10,000 Zithromax
750,000 Chloroquine From the Federal Government.
Trials will start Tuesday.
President Trump is sending thousands of samples of the drugs hydrooxychloroquine, zithromax and chloroquine to New York for testing.
President Donald Trump drew attention Thursday to drugs often used to treat illnesses like malaria that could also help treat COVID-19 patients.
In January, researchers at the University of Utah identified hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine as effective methods of COVID-19 treatment after conducting a series of test tube studies, according to Dr. Kurt Hegmann, center director of Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health at the University of Utah.
Multiple studies and reports testing the efficacy of the drugs around the world have also shown positive results, Hegmann said during a Friday press conference with politicians, health professionals and business owners.
Two days ago, a study conducted and published in France showed a stark drop in virus replication among patients who were prescribed the drugs, in contrast with those who weren’t, Hegmann explained. While the study was not randomized, it’s exceptionally difficult to see results that stark caused by another factor, he added.
“We’re going to get this supply and the trial will start this Tuesday,” Cuomo said at his daily briefing on the pandemic in Albany. “[President Donald Trump] is optimistic about these drugs and we are all optimistic that it could work. I’ve spoken with a number of health officials and there is a good basis to believe that they could work.”
These drugs are especially exciting because they’ve already been around for 80 years now, said Senate President J. Stewart Adams. And side effects generally only display themselves if a patient has been taking the medication for years, Richards added. (KSL)
CORONAVIRUS: NY GOV. CUOMO SAYS STATE TO START CLINICAL DRUG TRIAL, AUTHORIZES TEMPORARY HOSPITALS, ASKS US TO NATIONALIZE MEDICAL SUPPLY BUYING
NEW YORK STATE IS RUNNING A CLINICAL TRIAL BEGINNING TUESDAY OF A TREATMENT REGIMEN OF HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE AND AZITHROMYCIN, TWO DRUGS THAT DOCTORS IN AFRICA AND ELSEWHERE SAY THEY’VE SEEN GOOD RESULTS IN FIGHTING THE VIRUS.
The new state measures Cuomo announced include:
Army Corp of Engineers to construct four temporary hospitals in Stony Brook, Westchester, Westbury and the Javits Convention Center in Midtown Manhattan. The locations were chosen for various reasons including dormitory space for medical personnel
FEMA to construct four federal hospitals of 250 beds each
New York City to present a plan to reduce social interaction and density in parks and public spaces within 24 hours for the state to review
Hospitals must create plans to increase capacity by at least 50 percent, with a goal of 100 percent increase
All elective non-critical surgery will be canceled as of Wednesday
New York State will begin implementing trials of two drugs to treat COVID-19, the anti-malaria drug chloroquine and the antibiotic azithromycin on Tuesday.
Cuomo said that New York State currently has 53,000 hospital beds available. Projections estimate that as many as 110,000 beds could be needed as coronavirus cases peak.
Besides the multifold state response, Cuomo called on the federal government to nationalize the production of medical supplies needed for the pandemic.
“The states just can’t deal with finding the medical supplies they need.” Hospitals need these materials now, Cuomo urged.
Cuomo also asked the FDA to approve serological testing for antibodies to assess what percent of the population may have already been exposed to COVID-19.
As of Sunday morning, the total number of cases in New York reached 15,000. Here is how the current state statistics break down:
53 percent of cases are 18 to 49 years old
50,000 new tests were administered
4,800 new cases were confirmed
374 deaths to date have been recorded in New York State
70 percent of deaths so far were 70 years or older and the majority had underlying health conditions
80 percent of deaths under 70 years old had an underlying condition
1,900 patients have been hospitalized. The 13 percent hospitalization rate is lower than the previous rate of 15 percent.
These new mandates come after previous measures such as all non-essential employees being asked to stay at home and new rules concerning social distancing and “Matilda’s Law” for senior citizens and other vulnerable people.
Cuomo repeated pleas for residents to socially distance.
“You would think nothing was going on. There is a density level that is not appropriate and it has to stop now.”
Cuomo reassured residents that food and medication supply chains are not at risk of collapse.
The next few weeks will be a strange time here in the United States.
Who am I kidding? It’s going to be a strange few months, at least, with some lingering ramifications fouling the air around the globe for possibly years to come. The Covid-19 crisis is really just beginning, and America’s business landscape is about to shift rapidly.
Given the nature of the illness, gathering places such as restaurants, bars, and gyms have been forced to shut their doors. This is all good and well for the safety of the public, but it hasn’t been great for the economy, obviously.
We’ll soon see a fairly large shift in our local economies, with some businesses predictably being forced to alter their operations, and other, perhaps forgotten industries suddenly thriving.
A long queue of cars forms in front of a drive-in cinema in Seoul, as South Koreans look for safer spaces to enjoy a movie without the risk of contracting the coronavirus raging across the world.
Box office numbers in South Korea — which has 8,897 confirmed virus cases — have plummeted in recent weeks due to the epidemic, with authorities urging the public to avoid large crowds.
But at Park Dong-ju’s drive-in cinema, moviegoers can enjoy a film from the comfort of their cars, parked in front of a large outdoor screen.
“We’ve had a 10-20 percent increase in sales for weekdays, and sell out on weekends,” Park said, adding: “We’re definitely getting many more calls and internet inquiries after the coronavirus outbreak.”
The Showboat Drive-In Theater in Hockley, Texas, about a 30-minute drive outside Houston, normally sees ticket sales go down about 40% on a weekend when they don’t have any new movies. Last weekend, they saw a 40% increase, says the theater’s owner, Andrew Thomas. Usually open weekends, Thomas has kept screenings going through the week.
“Obviously this isn’t the way you’d want it to occur, but I’m excited for the idea that there may be a new generation of people that will get to experience going to a drive-in theater and — I was going to say catch the bug,” said Thomas, laughing. “Maybe some other turn of phrase.”
Just make sure that whoever you’re fogging up the windows with plans on being your quarantine partner before getting too cozy.

A liberal reporter at Friday’s White House coronavirus press conference attacked GOP Senator Ron Johnson for telling a reporter to keep the coronavirus in perspective. The liberal media and World Health Organization has created an international panic after mistakenly announcing the coronavirus has a 3.4% mortality rate.
As of Friday morning 3-20-2020: ** There are 16,067 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the US. ** There are 219 deaths blamed on the coronavirus. ** The current mortality rate from confirmed cases is 1.3% ** There are no official numbers that include the number of citizens who had the virus but were not sick enough to seek medical attention. ** There are an estimated 22,000 flu deaths and 36 million cases in the US each year.
Senator Johnson told Craig Gilbert from the Journal Sentinel that we must keep the coronavirus in perspective.
In other words, you don’t collapse an economy over 218 deaths in a population of 327 million.
Today during his question this liberal reporter claimed the US will see 11 million people die.
Again, we currently have a total of 218 deaths.
This is the type of BS the liberal media keeps hurling at the American people.
The coronavirus COVID-19 has exploed in Italy. On Friday, there were 41,035 confirmed cases in the nayion of about 60 million, with more than 3,400 deaths. The mainstream media in the United States has breathlessly reported that the death toll there means the virus is far more dangerous than has been reported.
But a new study made a stunning finding: 99% of coronavirus deaths in Italy were of patients with existing medical problems, which all doctors say makes people more prone to adverse effects from the virus.
“Research into 355 deaths found that only three of the victims, 0.8 per cent, had been clear of illnesses before they were infected,” The Daily Mail reported. “Nearly half of them – 48.5 per cent – already had three or even more health conditions before they were diagnosed with Covid-19. Another 25.6 per cent had two other ‘pathologies’, while 25.1 per cent had one.”
The research by Italy’s National Institute of Health is consistent with previous findings that people with existing illnesses are more likely to die from coronavirus.
According to the study, the most common of these problems in Italy include high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.
Some 76.1 per cent of the patients who died of Covid-19 had previously had problems with high arterial blood pressure, the study found.
More than a third – 35.5 per cent – had diabetes, while 33.0 per cent had suffered from ischemic heart disease.
The study also found that the average age of those who died from the virus in Italy was 79.5, and slightly higher for women.
That is also consistent with previous findings from around the world that older people are more vulnerable to the disease. But it’s unclear why it ravaged Italy, which has the second-oldest population in the world, while leaving Japan, which is No. 1, relatively unscathed.
It doesn’t appear that testing is a major factor, despite what the mainstream media in the U.S. say. Japan has not conducted extensive testing for COVID-19 on its citizens. South Korea has done nearly 5,600 tests per million residents — third most in the world, according toourworldindata.com — while Japan has done just 130 per million, putting the country in 21st place. Italy, meanwhile, is sixth at roughly 2,500 per million, while Hong Kong comes in 14th at about 700 per million.
Last night Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) was accused of dumping millions of dollars worth of stocks following a private briefing on the Coronavirus back in January.
“Appreciate today’s briefing from the President’s top health officials on the novel coronavirus outbreak. These men and women are working around the clock to keep our country safe and healthy.” Loeffler tweeted on January 24, 2020 — Loeffler reported her first stock sale (jointly with her husband) this very same day.
The Georgia Republican is the second (known) Senator to dump stock holdings before the market plunged. On Friday morning Senator Loeffler joined America’s Newsroom on FOX News to defend herself. Senator Loeffler told FOX News the sales were made without her knowledge and she did not know about the transactions until weeks later.
Ed Henry: Shortly after that tweet you sold over a million dollars in stocks from your portfolio before the market went down. Were you trading on inside information on what was coming?
Sen. Kelly Loeffler: Well, I’m really glad that you asked Ed because I do want to set the record straight. I’ve seen some of those stories and it’s absolutely false. And it could not be true. So, if you actually look at the personal transaction reports that were filed it notices at the bottom that I am only informed on my transactions after they occur, in several weeks. So those transactions, at least on my behalf, were a mix of buy and sells, very routine for my portfolio.
The radical socialist movement didn’t have nearly enough momentum to turn into a full revolution. Instead, it took a turn for the worse in the latest round of primaries. Bernie Sanders is “losing the battle over electability,” and admits “last night did not go the way we wanted.” The way it went was right off a cliff.
The radical socialist movement has lost all momentum
Young radical progressives flocked to Bernie Sanders like rats behind the Pied Piper, hypnotized by his promises of free everything for life. They called it a Socialist Revolution and were ready to burn down the establishment to get it. They were all fired up by Bernie’s initial success in Iowa and New Hampshire.
By the time the Bernie bus pulled into America’s heartland, it was clear. The movement was losing momentum. Every stop along the campaign trail only seemed to slow it down more. Cooler, wiser, but still very liberal heads made it crystal clear that they aren’t ready for revolution, only a regime change.
In the midst of a crucial nationwide crisis, with one of four primary elections canceled due to social-distancing restrictions, the results of the other three contests, in Arizona, Illinois, and Florida, made it clear that the movement has gone as far as it can. “While our campaign has won the battle of ideas, we are losing the battle over electability to Joe Biden.”
Bernie to ‘assess’ his options
According to a statement issued Wednesday morning by campaign manager Faiz Shakir, Bernie Sanders has some thinking to do as he heads off to isolation in his Vermont living room. Biden now has almost 300 more delegates than Sanders. There is “no sugarcoating it, last night did not go the way we wanted.” Sanders is expected to vote on the coronavirus relief bill Wednesday, “and afterward head back home to Vermont with his wife Jane.”
“Senator Sanders is going to be having conversations with supporters to assess his campaign.” He wants everyone to know that the public welfare is his top concern. “In the immediate term, however, he is focused on the government response to the coronavirus outbreak and ensuring that we take care of working people and the most vulnerable.”
There is a lot of pressure for Bernie to simply throw in the towel but he’s not ready to do that yet. Not if there is still a chance that staying in the race will force Biden to adopt some of his radical policies. The movement will continue, they insist, even if Bernie has to get out and push. “Sanders backers believe that the senator needs to remain in the race to push Biden in a more progressive direction.”
The guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have all campaigns scrambling to work from home, moving all their efforts online.

When compared to other societal ailments, the coronavirus is receiving much more attention. The common flu does more damage than the coronavirus but the world seems to be reluctant to focus on anything else.
According to overnight updates, the number of coronavirus cases in the US now stands at 9,464 cases. The number of related deaths stands at 155:
According to the CDC, the number of flu cases confirmed in the US since September currently stand at 222,552 cases with 22,000 deaths:
The number of coronavirus cases confirmed in the US as a percent of the number of flu cases confirmed in the US now stand at 4.2% (9,464/222,522). The percent of deaths from the coronavirus to deaths from the flu is 0.7% (155/22,000).
In the past few days the number of deaths in the US from the coronavirus passed the number flu deaths in Hong Kong (7-8 million people) which were 113.
The Centre for Health Protection announced today that the winter flu season has ended. During this period, 113 adults died of influenza and no deaths from children were recorded. The Centre reminds the public that although the winter flu peak period has ended, citizens should continue to maintain personal and environmental hygiene to prevent respiratory diseases.
There have been 4 deaths from the coronavirus to date in 2020 in Hong Kong.
The US is now willing to spend $1 trillion on the coronavirus. It would be nice to see this go to other ailments where it might be better used.
Thanks to “globalism” — i.e., cheap goods from China — we’ve gotten many wondrous things, for example:
— Toothpaste on American shelves made with a poison found in antifreeze;
— Toxic Chinese drywall installed in about 100,000 U.S. homes, emitting noxious fumes that destroyed electrical wiring and metal fixtures and sickened homeowners. Replacement of the drywall, pipes and wiring cost Americans billions of dollars.
— Hundreds, possibly thousands, of American dogs killed by melamine-laced Chinese dog food in 2007.
— The loss of about 200,000 beautiful maple trees lining the streets of small New England towns, eaten by Asian long-horned beetles that arrived on Chinese cargo ships in 1996. The U.S. taxpayer spends hundreds of millions of dollars to eradicate the repeated outbreaks that continue to this day, despite promises from the Chinese to do better.
— Viral pandemics — H1N1 (from China), bird flu (from China), SARS (from China) and now the Wuhan virus (from China).
Is it really worth paying $3 for a T-shirt at Walmart, rather than $9? The precise reason Chinese goods are so cheap is that they skip the crucial quality-control step.
LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT: THE CHINESE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS!
Well, like most animal-to-human viruses, this one did originate in China and then spread across the globe when Chinese tourists infected people in other countries.
As described by Melinda Liu in Smithsonian Magazine, the Chinese wet markets, “often poorly ventilated, with multiple species jammed together — create ideal conditions for spreading disease through shared water utensils or airborne droplets of blood and other secretions.”
This 2017 article was titled: “Is China Ground Zero for a Future Pandemic?”
When the pandemic arrived, at least the World Health Organization leapt to action. First step: Find a cure? Develop a vaccine? Demand protections for the elderly?
NO!
WHO officials got together and worked on coming up with a new name for the “Wuhan virus” that sounded less Asian.
Next, the WHO put out a “Fact Sheet” to ensure that those with Kung Flu would not be stigmatized. It instructed:
“DO — talk about people ‘acquiring’ or ‘contracting’ #COVID-19.
“DON’T — talk about people ‘transmitting COVID-19,’ ‘infecting others’ or “spreading the virus’ as it implies intentional transmission & assigns blame.”
As fear of the Chinese virus spread, Gloria Allred brought a lawsuit against a Los Angeles school for sending an Asian student to the school nurse after he coughed in class.
Americans are cowering in their homes. Airlines, restaurants, beaches, ski resorts, professional sports, colleges and stores have been shut down. But we must never violate the fundamental civil right of an Asian to cough in class and refuse to see the nurse!

For a Chinese Traveler, Even Paradise Comes With Prejudice
A few weeks ago — before a trillion dollars in wealth was destroyed by the coronavirus panic and we learned the real disease was racism — everyone, including the Times, admitted that the virus was brought to Italy by two Chinese tourists.
“[T]here had not yet been any confirmed cases in Italy,” the Times reported, until Jan. 30, “when the government announced the first two cases.” The scientific director of an infectious diseases hospital in Rome identified them: “two Chinese tourists visiting Rome.”
The Times buried this fact in an article perversely titled: “Cruise Passengers Are Held at Italian Port in False Alarm Over Coronavirus.” On one hand, a bunch of cruise passengers were inconvenienced for 12 hours; on the other hand, a viral pandemic that could kill millions was introduced to Italy. You write the headline.
Lombardy is the Italian region most devastated by the Wuhan virus. As far back as 2003, a Library of Congress report cited Lombardy as having the highest concentration of Chinese immigrants in Italy. Our media refuses to tell us this fact today — or any day.
No hard feelings, but why not relieve people’s minds? West Virginians who have no contact with anyone visiting from China can rest easy! No need to stockpile toilet paper.
While we’re at it, when will the media and the “medical community” get around to informing Americans that this latest Chinese pandemic poses little danger to anyone under 70 without certain chronic medical conditions?
Italy has been ravaged by the Wuhan virus, but the average age of the dead is 81.
According to the dire estimates of the Imperial College of London — whose assessment we are following — excepting those with underlying medical conditions, the new coronavirus is far less deadly than the seasonal flu to anyone under 60 years old. It’s no worse than the 2017-18 flu season for those in their 60s. But it’s five to 10 times more deadly than the regular flu for those in their 70s and 80s, respectively.
We ought to surround old folks homes with the National Guard and call it a day. It would probably save more lives and wouldn’t destroy the economy. But there’s no time to think about saving lives. The important thing is to stamp out the idea that a virus that originated in China has anything to do China.

The Senate today passed a clean bill to provide funding to combat the coronavirus that contains language preventing the funds from being used to pay for abortions.

After the George Zimmerman Hoax failed, after it was discovered that a white man had not hunted down and murdered a black teen (Zimmerman is Hispanic and a jury ruled he killed in self-defense), the fake news media moved on to the Hands-Up-Don’t-Shoot Hoax, which was led primarily by far-left CNN and the far-left Washington Post.
The lies and hate spread by the corporate media resulted in multiple nights of rioting in the working class, predominantly black city of Ferguson, Missouri. Then, like a plague of locusts, and apparently under the impression the city doesn’t already have enough problems, CNN moved on to Baltimore.
The reason the media’s coronavirus lies remind me of the CNN Race Riots of 2014 is because This Matters.
What I mean by that is that George Zimmerman, Ferguson, and Baltimore mattered. This was our malevolent media behaving exactly like a Bond villain: pushing a political agenda and looking to juice ratings at the expense of real people. Zimmerman, an innocent man, had his life and reputation ruined. The homes and businesses destroyed by those race riots are homes and businesses owned by everyday Americans, not the wealthy and certainly not CNN chief Jeff Zucker or anti-Trump activist Jake Tapper, whose fancy homes are miles away from the devastation they caused.
You see, as awful as the media have been over the last three years, the Russia Hoax and the Impeachment Hoax were D.C. food fights. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t collateral damage or that innocent people weren’t hurt — like President Trump and his family — but politics is politics. You know the risks going in…
Coronavirus is not a D.C. food fight. Like the CNN Race Riots of 2014, it affects everyday people: we have shut down our economy. The stock market is going insane. People are scared, worried, stressed, and have reason to be. Even if you remove the fear of the virus, no one can escape the fear of the panic, and the media’s blatant lies are only adding to this uncertainty and fear — and are doing so by design.
And for what? To what end..? Well, for the exact same reasons the media ginned up those race riots: a depraved indifference to human life driven by nothing more than a political agenda and the naked greed that comes with ratings and clicks.
Don’t believe me?
Here’s the evidence…
All the media’s coronavirus lies….
Keep in mind, these are not mistakes. Mistakes are random. Mistakes fall both ways. Our fake news media’s “mistakes” fall only one way — in the direction of ginning up panic in our streets and hatred of Trump and his supporters, who have already paid a very heavy price.
As you read this list, no matter what you do, do not call the media the enemy of the people … because that would be wrong.
Trump Told Governors to Get Their Own Goddamned Ventilators!
Now that the media can no longer attack Trump over the coronavirus testing (as you’ll see below), we’ve moved to ventilators. “Ventilators” is the new Katrina, the new metric with which to beat Trump senseless… So naturally, the media are going to lie shamelessly, which is exactly what they are doing, even as I write these words:
At least eight New York Times authors shared a deceptively edited quote Monday from President Donald Trump’s recent call with state governors, creating the false impression that the president is denying federal support for ventilators that are needed in hospitals treating coronavirus patients.
In his message, the president recommended that states procure respirators and ventilators because it would be faster — but added that the federal government “will be backing you.”
The Times journalists omitted the bulk of the president’s statement as they shared the story on social media. The misleading, partial quote was also boosted by a CNN correspondent and became the lead headline at the left-wing Huffington Post.
Despite growing online backlash to this misinformation, the journalists have yet to delete or retract their comments.
Here’s the president’s full quote:
Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment — try getting it yourselves. We will be backing you, but try getting it yourselves. Point of sales, much better, much more direct if you can get it yourself.
He’s telling the governors, Do what you can while we do what we can do. This is excellent advice the liars at the far-left New York Times are deliberately twisting to cause panic, to tell the public the president doesn’t care.
Trump Seeks Monopoly on Coronavirus Vaccine
What better way to increase the world’s hatred of America, everyone’s hatred of Trump, and cause even more illegal aliens to crash into our country (seeking a vaccine) than to spread the fake news the American president is looking to monopolize any potential coronavirus vaccine?
But that is exactly what Reuters, The Guardian, Business Insider, and staffers at the New York Times and MSNBC did.
This lie doesn’t even make sense.
What good would it do America to corner the market on a vaccine? It costs us nothing to share the information so other countries can create their own vaccine. What good does it do the U.S. to sit around and watch everyone else die?
Nationwide Curfew!
Good ol’ Jim Sciutto, one of the most infamous liars in the country, a former Obama official hired by the serial liars at CNN to serial lie.
“New: There are active discussions within the Trump administration to encourage a possible ‘curfew’ across the nation in which non-essential businesses would have to close by a certain time each night,” Sciutto wrote on social media, citing “CNN reporting.”
It’s not true. And unless you’re looking to sow panic, it also makes no sense. What good would a curfew do, most especially a nationwide curfew? Does the virus only strike at night? There are reports Patient Zero ate a bat.
Maybe it was a vampire bat!
Trump Lied About the Google Website
“Google says it’s not publishing a national-scale coronavirus site,” CNN anti-Trump activist Jake Tapper tweeted to his 2.3 million Twitter followers last week.
He linked to a CNN story with the headline, “Google says it’s not publishing a national-scale coronavirus site anytime soon.” This was a story that smeared Trump as a liar for announcing Google will be building a national-scale coronavirus website.
The original and very fake CNN story can be found here.
Here’s the opener:
Google will not be publishing a national-scale website for coronavirus testing anytime soon, contrary to claims made by President Donald Trump during a Friday news conference.
Instead, a health-focused subsidiary owned by Google’s parent company, Alphabet, intends to launch a small-scale website next week to begin to triage California-based patients. The website will aim to serve a broader population only “over time” — not “very quickly,” as Trump said.
“What we’re building is a triage tool that will live on ProjectBaseline.com, and we plan to pilot it in California next week,” said Carolyn Wang, a spokesperson for the Alphabet subsidiary, Verily.
Here’s the Google Search screencap which captured CNN’s lie:
But now, if you click on that Google link, the CNN story says the exact opposite of what the original story said. Here’s the new headline and opener:
Google will partner with US government to develop a nationwide coronavirus website, company says
Google now says it is working with the government on the creation of a national website containing information about coronavirus symptoms and testing information.
“Google is partnering with the US Government in developing a national website that includes information about COVID-19 symptoms, risk and testing information,” the company said in a series of tweets Saturday evening.
The company did not give a time frame of when such a website would be up and running.
On Friday after the President said Google was helping to develop a website and it would be available soon, the company declined to say it would be publishing a national-scale website for coronavirus testing anytime soon.
Naturally, there is no editor’s note informing readers the original story was a lie or has been retracted or updated, which is highly unethical.
CNN spread a bald-faced lie to undermine the president, got caught, and did everything in its malevolent power to cover that lie up.
Trump Shut Down the CDC’s Pandemic Department!
Do I even need to point out how virulent and widespread this talking point has been?
No, the White House didn’t ‘dissolve’ its pandemic response office. I was there.
It has been alleged by multiple officials of the Obama administration, including in The Post, that the president and his then-national security adviser, John Bolton, “dissolved the office” at the White House in charge of pandemic preparedness. Because I led the very directorate assigned that mission, the counterproliferation and biodefense office, for a year and then handed it off to another official who still holds the post, I know the charge is specious.
…
It is true that the Trump administration has seen fit to shrink the NSC staff. But the bloat that occurred under the previous administration clearly needed a correction. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, congressional oversight committees and members of the Obama administration itself all agreed the NSC was too large and too operationally focused (a departure from its traditional role coordinating executive branch activity). As The Post reported in 2015, from the Clinton administration to the Obama administration’s second term, the NSC’s staff “had quadrupled in size, to nearly 400 people.” That is why Trump began streamlining the NSC staff in 2017.
The reduction of force in the NSC has continued since I departed the White House. But it has left the biodefense staff unaffected[.]
…
It is this reorganization that critics have misconstrued or intentionally misrepresented. If anything, the combined directorate was stronger because related expertise could be commingled.
In other words, it wasn’t dissolved, it was streamlined.
Trump Declared the Coronavirus a Hoax!
This desperate lie, launched by the far-left Politico, was quickly debunked by fact-checkers, including the far-left Washington Post. That’s how big of a lie it is — the Washington Post conceded it was a lie.
Calling the Wuhan Virus the ‘Wuhan Virus’ Is Racist
As has already been exhaustively pointed out, the naming of a virus or disease after a location — including a lily-white location like Lyme, Connecticut — is just how it’s done and has been done forever.
But now it’s racist, even though the very same media declaring it racist is the very same media that first called it the “Chinese Virus” or the “Wuhan Virus,” or some variation thereof.
Here’s a pretty comprehensive list that’s been floating around. There are probably more examples, but this more than makes the point:
“Japan and Thailand Confirm New Cases of Chinese Coronavirus,” The New York Times, 1/15/20
“The CDC and Homeland Security begin screening for Chinese Coronavirus at three major US airports as outbreak spreads in Asia,” CNBC, 1/17/20
“Vaccine for new Chinese coronavirus in the works,” CNN, 1/20/20
“First U.S. case of potentially deadly Chinese coronavirus confirmed in Washington state,” Washington Post, 1/21/20
“Chinese coronavirus outbreak has reached U.S. shores, CDC says,” Los Angeles Times, 1/21/20
“The First Case Of The Chinese Coronavirus Has Hit The US, CDC Reports,” Buzzfeed, 1/21/20
“First case of Chinese coronavirus confirmed in Washington state,” NBC’s Today Show, 1/24/20
“Chinese coronavirus infections, death toll soar as fifth case is confirmed in U.S.,” Washington Post, 1/26/20
“Japan confirms case of new Chinese virus, spread is ‘concerning,’” Reuters, 1/15/20
“How the Chinese virus outbreak impacts Lunar New Year travel,” National Geographic, 1/24/20
“China coronavirus ‘spreads before symptoms show,’” BBC, 1/26/20
“Over a thousand ‘likely’ infected by Wuhan virus in China: Study,” Al Jazeera, 1/18/20
To sum this up, the fake news media floods these words and terms into the American lexicon, and then sanctimoniously turns around and attacks those who repeat them as racist.
Trump Blocked Testing Because Lower Numbers are Good for His Reelection
This lie arrives courtesy of the welfare queens at NPR and a Newsweek staffer’s hysterical amplification that has been retweeted almost a quarter-million times.
And once again, I ask, how does this makes any sense?
In the face of the facts, Trump is doing back-flips to start testing. What’s more, how does not testing benefit his re-election chances? It’s not as if people who test positive won’t eventually become symptomatic.
This is not just a lie (no other media outlet has confirmed it, which means even CNN couldn’t find a lying source that has lied to them so many times before to lie about this one), it’s by far the stupidest lie on this list.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Tuesday that the blame for the slow pace of testing for coronavirus in the U.S. does not lie with either President Trump or the CDC.
Fauci told Hugh Hewitt on “The Hugh Hewitt” show that a “technical glitch” resulted in the delay in production of usable tests in the U.S., something Fauci prescribed to random error.
…
“This has nothing to do with anybody’s fault, certainly not the president’s fault.”
11. Trump Silenced Dr. Fauci
This lie spread like wildfire before Fauci himself was given a chance to tell the truth.
We are plagued with a dishonest, unreliable, unserious, dangerous media, driven only by political calculation and naked greed.
The media are so evil and indecent, even a pandemic can’t cure them.

President Donald Trump has been taking the coronavirus threat more seriously in the past week, and even one CNN host has taken notice and given the president credit for his response.
CNN’s Dana Bash on Tuesday pushed back on criticism of Trump by pointing out that, at least with his recent words and tone, he’s doing a good job managing the crisis.
“If you look at the big picture, this was remarkable by the president of the United States,” Bash said. “This is a nonpartisan, this is an important thing to note and to applaud, from an American standpoint, from a human standpoint. He is being the kind of leader that people need, at least in tone, today and yesterday, in tone, that people need and want and yearn for in times of crisis and uncertainty.”
On CNN
This was remarkable from the President of the United States…[President @realDonaldTrump] is being the kind of leader that people need.
An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll showed that 49% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of the pandemic, compared to 44% who approve. Only 37% say they have either a “good amount” or a “great deal” of trust in information from the president about the coronavirus, while 60% say they trust the president “not very much” or “not at all” on the issue.
After initially taking a more casual stance toward the significance of the coronavirus, President Trump in recent days has shown a willingness to enact drastic measures, both socially and economically, to help the United States reduce the spread of the coronavirus and minimize the economic impact on businesses and Americans.
With the stock market significantly down over the past week and several industries being crippled by a lack of consumer activity directly resulting from the threat of the coronavirus, the Trump administration is working with Congress on an economic stimulus package that could exceed $1 trillion and may include bailouts for travel and hospitality companies, direct payments to Americans, and various forms of support or relief for small businesses.
On Monday, the president urged all Americans to stay home as much as possible from work and school, and to limit gatherings to 10 people or fewer to slow the spread of the coronavirus so that a high number of cases doesn’t overwhelm the health care system.
Shutting down cities due to the Wuhan virus does not shut down murderers.
As the Philadelphia SWAT team was attempting to serve a warrant to Hassan Elliott, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds through his apartment door, fatally striking 23-year veteran Cpl. James O’Connor IV. While cop killings have become all too common recently, that is not the end of the story.
William McSwain, the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, is now accusing Larry Krasner, the most vocal of the Soros-backed “justice reform” district attorneys, of keeping Elliott out of prison.
“Elliott was on the street for one reason: because of District Attorney Krasner’s pro-violent defendant policies,” said McSwain in a press release. “Those policies – which include permissive bail conditions for violent offenders, failing to pursue serious probation and parole violations by violent criminals, offering lenient plea deals for violent offenses, and outright withdrawing cases against violent felons – put dangerous criminals like Elliott on the street.”
McSwain, who has been in a war of words with Krasner for two years, went on to detail Elliott’s criminal history. “On June 8, 2017, Elliott was arrested on firearms charges, stemming from an incident in which he threatened a neighborhood resident with a gun. On January 24, 2018, he entered into a negotiated plea: Krasner’s office offered, and Elliott accepted, a below-guidelines sentence of 9 to 23 months’ incarceration, followed by 3 years of reporting probation.”
The result? Elliott was paroled on the same day, after serving just seven months and 16 days for a violent gun charge, even though he is a known member of a violent local gang and is even seen on video brandishing a weapon with his face behind a mask. Liberal politicians suddenly find guns to be innocuous, so long as you are a gang member who assaults someone with one.
McSwain also details how Elliott was accused of violating his parole numerous times. Yet despite those violations and an arrest for possession of cocaine, Elliott was freed in January 2019 without any bail being set. Remember, when liberals like Krasner talk about going soft on “low-level” drug possession, they refuse to factor in prior history. In this case, the police parole department labeled him as a “high risk” offender.
On March 1, 2019, just hours after he walked out of a court hearing stemming from the cocaine charge, Elliott and another gang member allegedly fatally shot Tyree Tyrone at close range. According to McSwain, “Video showed Elliott fleeing the scene and his fingerprints were found on one of the alleged murder weapons.”
OK, by now you’re thinking, a guy like this, especially after being targeted by police as one of the most dangerous suspects under “Operation Pinpoint” – even before the murder – would be behind bars, right? Not under Krasner’s definition of “low-level, nonviolent” offender. Krasner chose to drop the cocaine charge after Elliott became a fugitive and failed to show up at court three weeks later.
“The drug case should not have been dropped because it could have – and should have – been used as a means to get Elliott into custody and off the street on the murder warrant,” wrote McSwain. “If Elliott had shown up for court, he would have been arrested for murder. He didn’t know that there was an existing murder warrant, so there was certainly a chance that he would eventually show up for the drug trial if the case had not been withdrawn (he had, in fact, already shown up for it once, on March 1). But that possibility was eliminated when Krasner’s office eagerly withdrew the case.”
Thus, Krasner had multiple opportunities to ensure that Elliott was behind bars, thereby saving two lives. “Krasner has infected the District Attorney’s Office with a sickness that has deadly consequences for the entire City,” concluded McSwain in the lengthy statement. “Enough is enough. This madness must stop.”
So how does this all tie back into the issue of the day – Wuhan coronavirus? Well, as I reported yesterday, blue cities throughout the country are either releasing criminals they refer to as “low-level” or are urging police not to arrest them for crimes during the crisis. Fox 29 reports that Philly police are being told to process “low-level” criminals but defer their arrests until a warrant is served after the crisis is over. Good luck finding them at that point, and God knows how many more crimes they will commit.
So which crimes are considered low-level under the order? All narcotics offenses, theft from persons, retail theft, theft from auto, burglary, vandalism, all bench warrants, stolen auto, economic crimes, and prostitution.
Look, we all understand that there are staffing and logistical problems now, but to prospectively announce such a categorical jailbreak will openly invite rampant undeterred lawlessness. Some of these offenses are serious crimes and are very harmful to society. Moreover, those referring to “low-level” crimes in this context keep ignoring the point. So many of these crimes are committed by violent gang members. This will lead to more needless murders because so many people with records like Hassan Elliott will be let out indefinitely after being caught for theft or drugs, regardless of their prior records.
One thing is clear: While restaurant owners fear arrest for defying the shutdown, many criminals will have free rein to burglarize their vacant stores. How are we supposed to respect the government’s unprecedented economic shutdown when we are seeing a drastic asymmetry of priorities and justice?
