A.F. Branco Painting – Freedom’s Battle in America

I painted this back in 2009 to illustrate what I see happening to my country. America is in the battle of its life and its very soul against fascism and communism (Antifa and Black Live Matter organizations), both totalitarian by nature and are branches of the same socialism tree and totalitarian by nature, brought to you by the left – the Democrats.

Robby Starbuck OPED: Robby Starbuck: COVID Crisis Is a Preview of What America Would Look Like Under Socialism

Commentary By Robby Starbuck | Published April 13, 2020 at 11:32am

URL of the originating web site: https://www.westernjournal.com/robby-starbuck-covid-crisis-preview-america-look-like-socialism/

The coronavirus pandemic should remind all Americans how fortunate we are that we don’t live in a socialist country.

Most of my family fled to the United States from socialist Cuba; not all of them made it out alive, and some of them are still there. Growing up in California, I heard countless stories from my mom and grandparents of the government oppression that my relatives faced in their daily lives.

This shock you feel should serve as a reminder that we’re all united by our great fortune to live in the most free country ever to exist. There is no better time to reflect on and appreciate our freedom as we get a small glimpse into what others living under communism and socialism experience every day.

Counterintuitively, the sight of bare shelves in grocery stores across the country also underscores the superiority of our capitalist system. Americans are shocked by the fact that it has become difficult to obtain certain staples such as toilet paper, but for citizens living under socialist regimes, severe shortages are simply a fact of life — and they don’t even have the option of settling for lasagna instead of spaghetti, because the shortages they endure day in and day out are far more widespread than anything Americans have encountered in recent weeks.

Rationing is common in Cuba for this very reason. The government limits the amount of food and supplies each Cuban is allowed to buy, and enforces those limits brutally.

When my mom’s cousin was dying of cancer in Cuba, the government wouldn’t provide sheets or food for her feeding tube. Our family in Cuba had to scour the black market to get her the appropriate food to be able to feed her through a tube during her last days. This was after the Cuban government missed her brain cancer diagnosis for years due to broken machines and poorly educated doctors. It was only discovered when she had months left to live.

When you hear that “health care is a right,” this is an example of what the health care Cubans have a “right” to looks like.

Innocent Cubans have been killed and jailed over violating rationing rules and for speaking out about their hunger. We don’t have to worry about that here in the United States. The closest thing to rationing that we’ll ever experience are reasonable per-customer limits on high-demand products put in place by the stores themselves.

President Trump may have encouraged Americans to scale back their hoarding of toilet paper, but there’s no way he would ever restrict how much we can buy, because he knows that the free market will restock those shelves far faster than any draconian government intervention could possibly manage.

Since long before the coronavirus crisis, I have been concerned that too many Americans have accepted a whitewashed history of socialism that glosses over the widespread brutality and hardship that characterize socialist governments. It’s no secret that our education system is dominated by the ideological political left, who have made strides in normalizing socialism as a Norwegian fairytale, ignoring the fact Norway is not a socialist country. I’ve seen American teachers with my own two eyes proud to prominently display a celebratory image of Marxist murderer Che Guevara in their classrooms — a distressing sight for those who actually know the brutality of his actions.

It seems that some Americans are so accustomed to freedom that we can’t even imagine the privation and fear that families like mine endured under socialism. It’s easy to think socialism is the answer when the words sound pretty, but when faced with the ugly reality it becomes too late to turn back. Once these ideologies take root in a country, the rot rapidly infects every crevice of the government and suddenly the citizens have no freedom to lawfully change it.

It’s no surprise that Cuban and Venezuelan immigrants living in the United States are overwhelmingly conservative and pro-capitalist. We see the empty shelves in the meat, dairy or toiletry sections at the grocery store caused by this pandemic and are reminded that in our home countries, the everyday reality is much worse.

For people like my mom, it evokes memories of having her last possession, a doll, destroyed and stolen from her by a Cuban government official. That was the one item she was allowed to flee with, but an overwhelming need for control drove the official to make sure my mom wasn’t hiding money inside of the doll.

Similarly, we were bewildered when Democrats praise the government-run health care system in Cuba — the same type of system that is failing so spectacularly to cope with coronavirus outbreaks in countries such as Italy.

When my grandpa visits our family still stuck in Cuba, we all rally together to fill suitcases full of medicine, female hygiene products and other basic health necessities because we know those things aren’t available in a socialist country. Unfortunately, the coronavirus is exposing the deficiencies of socialized medicine in a much more serious way — ventilators aren’t nearly as easy to fit in a suitcase.

As state and local governments across the U.S. ask citizens and business owners to make sacrifices in order to stop the spread of a deadly virus, I’m reminded of my time traveling in China with the recording artist Akon, where our guide was required to obtain special government permits just to enter certain parts of the country. Curfews, internet firewalls, bans of social media like Twitter and shutdowns are a regular part of life in China — and violating them brings severe consequences. Freedom of speech does not exist in China; people live in fear of vocalizing their thoughts. When I’d ask a hard question about living under communism, their eyes told me what they could not vocalize due to their fear of being monitored. Even Chinese citizens are restricted from entering certain districts, based on their status. As an American, that was strange to watch; it felt like we had been transported into the Hunger Games universe. It served as a stark reminder that we have such remarkable freedoms and opportunities in America that we often don’t even realize just how good we have it.

The parallels between our temporary “coronapocalypse” and everyday life under socialism should make us wary of those who try to present socialism as some kind of panacea. It should also make us grateful to have a president who knew communist China wasn’t being honest with us about the severity of the virus that originated there. President Trump’s instincts about communist China led to flights from China being shut down in January, despite the protests of xenophobia from Democrats, a decision we now know saved countless lives.

Most of all these parallels should make us grateful that we have a president committed to ensuring that the United States of America never becomes a socialist country. As I reflect on the difficulty my relatives stuck in Cuba face every day, I’m more grateful than ever to be an American.

Chinese Restaurant Hangs Banner ‘Celebrating the Epidemic in the U.S.’

Chinese state media confirmed on Wednesday the legitimacy of an image circulating online of a Shenyang, China, restaurant banner celebrating Chinese coronavirus deaths in the United States. / Weibo

Chinese state media confirmed on Wednesday the legitimacy of an image circulating online of a Shenyang, China, restaurant banner celebrating Chinese coronavirus deaths in the United States.

The Global Times, a state-run publication that has run conspiracy theories accusing the U.S. Army of artificially engineering the Wuhan virus and unleashing it as an attack on the Chinese state, identified the offending restaurant as “Mother Yang’s Porridge Restaurant” and claimed that police arrested the manager responsible for putting up a banner apparently wishing for the pandemic China allowed to occur to do as much damage in the United States and Japan as possible.

“Celebrating the epidemic in the U.S. and wishing coronavirus a nice trip to Japan,” a large red banner over the restaurant read, according to the Global Times’ translation. Other translations note that the Chinese characters also insult Japan as “little” and hope the virus spread “forever after that [arrival into Japan]”:

Jennifer Zeng 曾錚@jenniferatntd

Banner at restaurant in ruled says: “Congratulations on the in the US! We wish the epidemic in dwarf Japan will last forever and ever!”
What do you think? I call it anti-humanity. Do these kinds of people have the right to protest again “racism”?

The newspaper identified the manager as a 30-something worker who had been there for some time and claimed that the banner was only up for about 90 minutes before police arrived at the scene. As China does not allow independent media outlets to operate within its borders, there are no independent reports confirming that this was the case. The news service UPI identified the manager as having the last name “Hui,” but not much more is known about the person or his or her fate after being detained by Chinese police.

The banner appeared to celebrate the growing numbers of deaths in both Japan and America. At press time, Japan has documented 1,307 cases of Chinese coronavirus nationwide and 45 deaths. In the United States, which has a much larger population than Japan, medical experts have logged more than 69,000 coronavirus cases and 1,046 deaths. Both nations are attempting to limit social contact to slow the spread of the highly contagious Chinese virus, though America has currently taken much more extreme measures in banning many American businesses from operating, triggering record numbers of jobless claims nationwide.

While the Global Times wrote of the celebration of American deaths on the part of Mother Yang’s, it has participated in the evidence-free accusations that Washington is responsible for the pandemic. An article in the state-run publication this month claimed that a U.S. Army facility in Fort Detrick, Maryland, was responsible for engineering a new form of coronavirus to be more contagious and difficult to treat. Chinese government officials also propagated the conspiracy theory. In the United States, Chinese Foreign Ministry official Zhao Lijian wrote on Twitter, “It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan.”

The Communist Party bans citizens who are not high-ranking Party members from using Twitter. Twitter has refused to hold Chinese officials to its terms of service about sharing dangerous disinformation.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has repeatedly condemned Beijing for baselessly accusing the United States of fabricating the disease.

“My concern is that this cover-up, this disinformation that the Chinese Communist Party is engaged in, is still denying the world the information it needs so that we can prevent further cases or something like this from recurring again,” Pompeo said this week. “The disinformation campaign from Russia and Iran as well as China continues. They’re talking about it coming from the U.S. Army, and they’re saying maybe it began in Italy, all things to deflect responsibility.”

The Chinese coronavirus originated in Wuhan, central China, in November. Chinese officials did nothing about the growing outbreak for months until privately alerting the World Health Organization (WHO) in January and shutting down a wild meat market that it believed was the origin location for the outbreak, as coronaviruses tend to infect humans after living in animals through consumption. Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, is home to 11 million people and to China’s Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, which is licensed to handle the world’s most dangerous pathogens. The Chinese government boasted that the facility identified the Wuhan virus as a new pathogen at a breakneck pace.

That month – after January 20, when China finally told the world it had identified a new virus – the WHO told the world that, according to Chinese scientists, the coronavirus was not contagious from human to human. Scientists now know that this was not true, and the Chinese coronavirus is highly contagious, thus allegedly necessitating the shutdown of nearly the entirety of the American economy.

A February study also found evidence that the virus did not originate at the shut-down meat market, also raising questions as to China’s initial response to what is now a pandemic.

A study by the University of Southhampton found this month that had the Communist Party not detained doctors warning in December and January about a contagious disease spreading in Wuhan and otherwise silenced evidence about the outbreak, about 95 percent of the world’s coronavirus cases could have been prevented.

Beware of the far-left push at the pulpit, say filmmakers

Reported Billy Davis, Steve Jordahl (OneNewsNow.com) | Tuesday, November 13, 2018

Russell Moore SBC tweetA documentary filmmaker says he is hard at work exposing the growing influence of radical far-left activism in evangelical congregations.

Documentary producer Trevor Louden says the 2016 film “Enemy Within” about communism’s influence in American politics opened his eyes to the threat, and he is now working with director Judd Saul to expose that influence in churches and their leaders.

The producer and director described their upcoming church documentary in a Nov. 9 interview on the “Sandy Rios in the Morning” radio show, where they described how communism has managed to influence people by hijacking movements.

“I’ve studied how the left operates through the peace movement, through the Black Lives Matter movement, through the women’s movement, through the labor movement,” said Loudon. “And they use the same methodology in the churches.”

The far-left goal in politics has always been to move government toward socialism and eventually communism, Louden said, and a similar goal is now under way to move churches leftward, too. Over time, he warned, that leftward drift affects the voting base inside those conservative churches, which is the ultimate goal of the far-left provocateurs.

The gospel message is still preached, he told Rios, but it’s “what they add on that is the problem.”

That is why church members are hearing more about social justice and “white privilege,” warnings from the pulpit about global warming and a fragile planet, and sympathy for illegal immigrants and refugees attempting to enter the United States, the filmmakers said.

Southern Baptist ConventionThe filmmakers told Rios one organization that drifted left in recent years is World Vision, the child relief organization, and a second one in danger of that far-left drift is Cru, formerly Campus Crusade for Christ, founded in the 1950s by Bill Bright.

Louden said he was informed by a Cru employee about the drift away from its gospel roots and was told to expect an exodus of employees, unwilling to follow that drift, in the near future.

One unsurprising named dropped by the filmmakers is Jim Wallis, the controversial Sojourners founder whose namesake magazine publishes stories such as “A Radical Redistribution of Love” that all but compares communism to brotherly love.

A second name dropped by the filmmakers on the radio program is Russell Moore, the controversial Southern Baptist figure who now leads that denomination’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) based in Nashville, Tenn.

Moore has already caused problems within the conservative denomination, such as ridiculing Southern Baptists who voted for Donald Trump, among other questionable decisions. But the filmmakers told Rios their upcoming documentary will describe how Moore attended a “strategy session” with leaders from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a powerful homosexual-rights group based in Washington, D.C. The filmmakers were likely referring to a 2014 ERLC conference on same-sex marriage that was described in a HRC press release, which complained about the SBC but made it clear HRC was sending leaders to sit down with Moore.

The filmmakers claimed in the American Family Radio interview that Moore met with HRC as an ally, not a SBC official hoping to exchange views. OneNewsNow contacted ERLC for comment about the filmmakers’ accusations but did not get a response from the organization.

“These are hard things to talk about,” Rios observed at one point, when the filmmakers accused author-pastor Tim Keller of flirting with far-left activism, too.

“This is pretty sinister and pretty deep,” Louden told the radio program. “This isn’t just a bunch of liberals who had taken over some churches. This is an organized Marxist program to pervert and corrupt American Christianity.”

Editor’s Note: American Family Radio is a division of the American Family Association, the parent organization of the American Family News Network, which operates OneNewsNow.com.

 Rios: not surprised at allegations

Billy Davis, OneNewsNow.com

A veteran radio talk show host says she was not shocked by accusations that evangelical churches are the target of far-left activism.

Sandy Rios interviewed documentary filmmakers Trevor Loudon and Judd Saul for most of her one-hour program Nov. 9, allowing them to describe their claims and allegations to the American Family Radio audience. The targets of their upcoming documentary include The Gospel Coalition, ERLC leader Russell Moore, pastor-teacher Tim Keller, and organizations such as Cru, formerly Campus Crusade for Christ.

Sandy RiosRios, who worked as a talk show host in Chicago, tells OneNewsNow she has enough experience with the Left’s infiltration into Christian organizations that she is not easily shocked by the claims.

The most serious allegations aired on the show, she says, is that Moore and Keller “might be willing infiltrators/manipulators” to an unsuspecting Church.

“Both have large evangelical audiences and followers,” she says, “and to accuse them of this is no small matter.”

Rios can’t personally affirm the filmmakers’ allegations, she adds, “but I know them well enough to know we should heed their warnings and ‘test the spirits to see if they be of God.'”

Soviet Leader Abandoned Communism After Walking Into a US Grocery Store

Reported By V Saxena | January 13, 2018 at 12:46pm

URL of the original posting site: https://conservativetribune.com/soviet-leader-grocery-store/

Very few people know this, but one of the most famous Soviet officials in Russian history originally learned of the many advantages of capitalism at a regular ol’ Randalls grocery store nearly three decades ago.

In 1989, then-Communist Party of the Soviet Union member Boris Yeltsin traveled to the United States to visit the Johnson Space Center in Texas, according to the Houston Chronicle.

While in Houston for the visit, he also stopped by a Randalls grocery store, where he “roamed the aisles of Randall’s nodding his head in amazement,” according to an account of the visit written by then-Chronicle reporter Stefanie Asin. He further told his fellow comrades who followed him to America for the visit that if the lines of starving men, women and children in Russia were to see the conditions of America’s supermarkets, “there would be a revolution.”

In photos of the visit reportedly taken by the Chronicle, Yeltsin could be seen “marveling at the produce section, the fresh fish market, and the checkout counter. He looked especially excited about frozen pudding pops.”

“Even the Politburo doesn’t have this choice. Not even Mr. Gorbachev,” he himself reportedly said, referring to the then-president of the Soviet Union.

Even after Yeltsin left Houston, he still remained transfixed by the luxuries we as Americans have always considered normal.

“For a long time, on the plane to Miami, he sat motionless, his head in his hands,” wrote biography Leon Aron in his 2000 book, “Yeltsin, A Revolutionary Life,”  basing his account on quotes from Yeltsin’s associates, according to The New York Times.

“‘What have they done to our poor people?’ he said after a long silence. On his return to Moscow, Yeltsin would confess the pain he had felt after the Houston excursion: the ‘pain for all of us, for our country so rich, so talented and so exhausted by incessant experiments.’”

Experiments in communism, to be precise.

Yeltsin reportedly admitted to these thoughts in his own autobiography, writing, “When I saw those shelves crammed with hundreds, thousands of cans, cartons and goods of every possible sort, for the first time I felt quite frankly sick with despair for the Soviet people.”

“That such a potentially super-rich country as ours has been brought to a state of such poverty! It is terrible to think of it.”

Two years later, he reportedly left the Communist Party and “began making reforms to turn the economic tide in Russia,” according to the Chronicle.

That’s putting it lightly.

Here’s how the Times describes Yeltsin’s accomplishments: “He broke up the Soviet Union. He laid the Communist Party low, removing the bottom brick from the one-party Soviet system. He upended the centralized Soviet economy that had impoverished his country, and he crushed the putsch that threatened to return the country to the old system.” He paved the way for Russia to become a capitalist/democratic society devoid of the food shortages and scarcity of the past. And all this because of a typical, everyday American grocery store. Go figure!

Lib Media Hiding This Dark Secret About Woman Who Toppled Confederate Monument

Reported

URL of the original posting site: http://conservativetribune.com/lib-media-toppled-monument/

When 22-year-old college student Takiyah Thompson toppled a monument of a Confederate soldier in Durham, North Carolina, on Monday, she instantly became a hero of the liberal media — a counterbalance to the sick violence we saw in Charlottesville this past weekend. That sentiment only grew after, as WTVD-TV reports, Thompson was arrested at a news conference in which she demanded amnesty for the protesters.

Take, for instance, this headline from the liberal Huffington Post: “Takiyah Thompson, Hailed As ‘Hero,’ Showered With Support For Toppling Confederate Statue.” The media breathlessly reported everything that Thompson said at the news conference, an event put on by the Workers World Party, a group that Thompson belongs to.

Much less — in fact, next to nothing — was said about the Workers World Party, the Marxist-Leninist group that has taken credit for organizing the monument-toppling. There was a reason for that: For Thompson’s story to fit the narrative, the Workers World Party’s history needed to be obscured.

As The Daily Caller points out, the WWP has some very dirty secrets. It’s a pro-North Korean, anti-American organization that often espouses violence and crime to get its way. The Daily Caller describes the party, founded in 1959, as a “hard-line offshoot of the more moderate Socialist Workers Party.”

“Organizers and protesters in Durham sent a clear message: Love does not trump hate; only mobilized people’s power can tear down white supremacy,” the group said in a piece published right after the Durham incident.

The group also stuck up for North Korea’s right to nuclear weapons, saying that Pyongyang is merely “trying to keep from being crushed by the immense force deployed by U.S. ‘capitalist democracy.’”

Advertisement – story continues below

“It is the right of oppressed people to choose the form of their struggle,” a WWP article from this past Monday reads.

“Those who come from the oppressor nation must not dictate how it should be done … And the same is true on the international arena. If the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have decided that the only way they’ll be safe from another U.S. attack is to have a nuclear deterrent, the best thing we in the U.S. can do is try to make sure that such an attack by the U.S. never happens.”

No matter how you feel about Confederate monuments, this is not the kind of person you want to “shower with support” over a decision to commit politically-motivated vandalism. This is an extremist far outside of the mainstream of American opinion.

Whether or not you agree with what she did — and we do not — that side of the story needs to be told.

Red Alert: Under Cover of NK Crisis, Cuba Makes Their Move

Reported

URL of the original posting site: http://conservativetribune.com/cuba-move-against-us-embassy/

Advertisement – story continues below

The growing crisis in North Korea may be dominating the news, but another communist nation may have just attacked American diplomats. A strange but alarming report from BBC News indicates that Cuba may have covertly harmed American embassy officials in Havana.

Several U.S. diplomats have been forced to leave the island country after their residences in Cuba were allegedly targeted by sonic devices which cause serious and possibly permanent hearing loss. It sounds like a plot element from a Cold War thriller novel, but two major news sources — BBC and the Associated Press — are standing by the story.

“Some of the diplomats’ symptoms were so severe that they were forced to cancel their tours early and return to the United States,” reported the AP.

“After months of investigation, U.S. officials concluded that the diplomats had been exposed to an advanced device that operated outside the range of audible sound and had been deployed either inside or outside their residences. It was not immediately clear if the device was a weapon used in a deliberate attack, or had some other purpose,” continued the report.

The U.S. government is also taking the possible covert attack seriously. In response to the incident, two Cuban diplomats have been expelled from Washington, D.C.

“We requested their departure as a reciprocal measure since some U.S. personnel’s assignments in Havana had to be curtailed due to these incidents,” explained Heather Nauert, a spokesperson for the State Department. “Under the Vienna Convention, Cuba has an obligation to take measures to protect diplomats.”

Officials also increased security around the embassy in Havana, as well as the residences where American officials and their families live. If the reports of a covert attack are accurate, the incident could mean a serious blow to budding relations between the United States and the communist island. Diplomatic connections between the two countries were only recently restored by Barack Obama, after decades of an embargo against the Castro regime.

The alleged assault could prove critics of normalized relations to be right: The Cuban government is no friend of the United States, and pretending otherwise could have serious consequences.

VENEZUELA: An Example Of How The Media Doesn’t Want The TRUTH Exposed About Socialism…

Written by William Pauwels on May 16, 2017

URL of the original posting site: http://clashdaily.com/2017/05/venezuela-example-media-doesnt-want-truth-exposed-socialism/

It’s reported that Venezuela is on the verge of revolution. The people have had it with authoritarian, de facto Communism. They are seriously impoverished – the eventual outcome of all Communistic/Socialistic nations. It’s always simply a question of time before they collapse on themselves.

Today hybrid nations are in vogue, i.e., mixtures of Socialism and Communism versus Competitive, Free-Market Capitalism. That’s even happening in China and Russia. They have moved away from Communism/Socialism into a hybrid system that they hope will provide the benefits of both systems. It’s Competitive, Free Enterprise to the rescue!

This hybrid approach is also being tested in the United States, where Democrat Party leaders like Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, etc. have endeavored to take control of the US economy and culture into the national government. And the Leftist media has joined their effort.

America’s prosperity was clearly hindered under the eight years of Obama’s Socialistic administration. Clearly, America’s flirtation with Democrat Party Socialism failed miserably – as it has in other countries where it has been tried. Venezuela is only the most current example.

In a Socialistically oriented economy, which the Democrats advocate, government in Washington calls the major shots. They try to regulate the economy, which worldwide experience has demonstrated doesn’t work! So once again, the economy is rescued via competitive, Free-Enterprise – a proven system based on supply and demand and competitive, Free-Market Capitalism.

Now, America has a chance to reinstate it’s competitive, Free-Enterprise, Constitutional System – which for 350 years made America the greatest country in the history of the world. Hopefully, under Donald Trump, we have an opportunity to restore The American-Way* – The American Prosperity Machine*: Competitive, Free-Market, Constitutional Capitalism. Based on the past four months, we appear to be moving in the right direction

The smear-everything-Trump Democratic Party and the power-hungry Leftist media have discredited themselves by their hostile behavior and desire to bring down President Donald Trump. Trump is an outsider – not part of the political establishment – not subject to the traditional Washington rules – and they can’t stand it. The Leftist Dems and media are deploying the same smear tactics they used against Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. They started the day after his election to not only discredit his victory – but to drive him out of the White House.

The fact that the majority of America’s 3141 counties voted to give Trump’s “America First” Agenda a try seems to have little effect on the Dems and the Leftist media. Clearly voters wanted change. America’s decline under Obama/Pelosi/Reid/Clinton/Schumer/Warren/etc. and their Leftist/Progressive/Socialistic agenda was being soundly rejected.

Already, the Economy is responding to the Trump Agenda with improvements: jobs, wages, national wealth, industrial investment, international relations, etc. And more is yet to come.
