Soros and his ‘rent an evangelical’ tactic for midterms

Reported by Jody Brown, Steve Jordahl (OneNewsNow.com) | Thursday, October 25, 2018

George Soros (close-up)Compliments of socialist billionaire George Soros, the far left is dressing up its agenda in religious words and symbols as the November midterms approach.

Those who attend a rally put on by Vote Common Good are likely to hear a lot of things that remind them of church. For example, they’ll hear pastors like John Pavlovitz talking about Bible phrases like “caring for the least of these.”

But the message – this one from Pavlovitz, aimed at President Trump – sounds like it comes straight out of the Democratic playbook:

Pavlovitz: “I’m angry. We have a petulant, insecure man-child live-tweeting his every nonsensical thought right now … we have Nazi’s running for office and migrant kids in cages … and supremacists in the Cabinet.”

And this comment from Vote Common Good’s director, Pastor Doug Pagitt, regarding the group’s claim to be non-partisan while urging people to vote Democratic:

Pagitt: “… We’re not trying to recruit for the Democratic Party. We’re asking people to vote common good. For us, it seems evident that that means supporting any candidate that would put a limit on this presidency.”

And yet one of their main goals, as stated on their website, is to “dislodge control of Congress from the Republican Party” in two weeks. “We will show up at the ballot box and vote for the children who have been separated from their parents, the single mother who is not getting her assistance, and the left out groups in our society,” says the website.

Kullberg

The leaders of Vote Common Good are pro-abortion, pro-“gay,” and pro-open borders, notes Kelly Kullberg of American Association of Evangelicals – and it’s funded by George Soros, she adds.

“George Soros needs what they call a ‘faith narrative’ or some of his people call a ‘rent-an-evangelical’ model of social change,” the AAE founder tells OneNewsNow. “They started cherry-picking Bible words on the left to advance their policies and candidates, usually for open borders and amnesty.” (See video below)

According to Kullbert, the left knows conservative Christians will naturally vote for a party that values religious liberty, constitutional freedoms, and life.

“[So] the far left has to divide that – and they began dividing it by using our words and our symbols,” she explains. “It’s very clever. [But] this is political warfare, it’s ideology and propaganda; it’s how these guys roll.”

Soros? GOP Rep. Posts Video Purportedly Showing People Being Paid To Join Honduran Caravan

Reported By Benjamin Arie | October 17, 2018 at 4:09pm

Are poor Hondurans being bribed to join the latest migrant caravan heading for the U.S. border … and if so, who is paying them? That’s the question that Rep. Matt Gaetz is raising after he discovered footage of a strange scene allegedly shot in Central America.

On Wednesday, the Florida Republican posted a one-minute video that appears to show women being handed cash to join a group — possibly, according to Gaetz, to be part of a slow-moving horde that plans on making its way north through Mexico and then into the United States.

The suspicious timing of the caravan, just three weeks before November’s midterm elections, and questions about what was happening in the clip were both raised by Gaetz on Twitter.

“Footage in Honduras giving cash 2 women & children 2 join the caravan & storm the US border @ election time,” the congressman posted.

Soros?” he continued, referring to one of the most infamous wealthy backers of liberal political movements, billionaire George Soros.

“US-backed NGOs? Time to investigate the source!” Gaetz wrote.

Information was not immediately available regarding where the video came from or what, precisely, it showed. More than 15,000 Twitter users responded to the post online, and the comments about the video were overwhelmingly against illegal immigration.

While many details about the clip are still missing, Gaetz’s allegation would have serious implications if it is accurate. A scheme that paid poor Central American citizens to leave their country and march toward the U.S. border would help explain the speed at which the latest caravan has grown in size.

“Up to 3,000 (Upgraded to 4,000) migrants crossed from Honduras into Guatemala on Monday on a trek northward, after a standoff with police in riot gear and warnings from Washington that migrants should not try to enter the United States illegally,” Reuters reported on Tuesday.
“The crowd more than doubled in size from Saturday, when some 1,300 people set off from northern Honduras in what has been dubbed ‘March of the Migrant,’” the news service continued.

It probably wouldn’t take much money to tempt them. The average monthly income in Honduras is about $230 U.S., and that’s if a person actually has a job in its shattered economy.

There are a number of plausible explanations for the footage shared by Gaetz, including the possibility of a non-governmental organization trying to assist the migrants by handing out cash for their unsanctioned journey.

Gaetz’s theory about somebody like Soros pulling strings to influence what is happening may be less likely, but it certainly is worth considering.

InfluenceWatch, a project from the Capital Research Center that tracks the funding of various groups, lists several Soros-backed movements in the category of “Mass Mobilization.”

The leftist billionaire has been linked to disruptive organizations including Black Lives Matter and the Women’s March, and may be linked to the radical far-left group “antifa” as well.

“(T)he left-wing billionaire George Soros has ties to Antifa through a group called the Alliance for Global Justice (AfGJ),” explained the Capital Research Center. “Soros’s philanthropy, known at the time as the Open Society Institute, gave $100,000 to AfGJ.”

Considering that Soros is also an avowed advocate of open borders in Europe, according to The Daily Caller, it wouldn’t be that much of a stretch for him to have his financial tentacles in the growing Central American immigration crisis.

More and more, political issues are not exactly what they seem. It’s time to follow the money and dig into what is happening with the migrant situation — and it wouldn’t be surprising if there were some shady figures pulling levers behind the scenes.

The original headline for this article was unclear whether Hondurans were being paid or were themselves paying to join the “caravan.” It also implied that such payment might be an illegal activity, which is unknown. We have therefore updated the headline for clarity. — Ed. note

Identity of Woman Who Screamed at Flake in Elevator Revealed, Soros Connection Uncovered

Reported By Karista Baldwin | September 29, 2018 at

3:09pm

The woman who yelled at Republican Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona while he was in the confines of an elevator Friday has also been vocal since then, revealing her name to be Ana Maria Archila. She and another woman in the elevator, Maria Gallagher, have been dubbed “heroes” by many on the left.

But Archila is an experienced activist with ties to George Soros. She is co-executive director of the left-wing Center for Popular Democracy, a New York-based organizing group that gets much of its money from the liberal billionaire.

“George Soros is one of the largest funders to the CPD,” The Washington Free Beacon reported in 2017. “Soros provided the CPD with $130,000 from the Foundation to Promote Open Society in 2014 and $1,164,500 in 2015. Soros provided an additional $705,000 from the Open Society Policy Center in 2016.”

On Friday morning, Flake made his way to the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing after announcing that he intended to vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Archila and Gallagher were among the women who confronted him while blocking the door to the elevator he was on.

“This is not tolerable!” they screamed at him.

“You have children in your family. Think about them! I have two children. I cannot imagine that for the next 50 years they will have to have someone in the Supreme Court who has been accused of violating a young girl. What are you doing, sir?!” Archila shouted at Flake.

An aide asked her if she would talk to a staffer outside, to which Archila snapped, “No. I want to talk to him. Don’t talk to me.”

Gallagher said Flake’s decision had personal significance for her, telling Flake that she was sexually assaulted and nobody believed her.

“I didn’t tell anyone, and you’re telling all women that they don’t matter, that they should just stay quiet because if they tell you what happened to them you are going to ignore them. That’s what happened to me, and that’s what you are telling all women in America, that they don’t matter,” Gallagher said in the emotional confrontation.

“Look at me when I’m talking to you,” she demanded. “You are telling me that my assault doesn’t matter, that what happened to me doesn’t, and that you’re going to let people who do these things into power. That’s what you’re telling me when you vote for him. Don’t look away from me.”

Flake listened to their shouting silently, occasionally nodding in response.  When the women finished and allowed him to pass, he continued to the committee hearing.

“I wanted him to feel my rage,” Archila said in an interview Friday with The New York Times. Her opportunity to express it to him came after she had spent all week in Washington protesting Kavanaugh’s nomination.

After private meetings with Senate Democrats, Flake told the panel that he would only vote for Kavanaugh on the condition that the Senate vote be delayed and another FBI investigation be conducted.

Archila claimed responsibility for Flake’s request to delay the vote. “His reaction shows the power that we have, together, when we chose to tell our stories and stand up for our vision of an inclusive society,” she wrote in an Op-Ed for USA Today on Saturday. “When we take action, we breathe new life and possibility into our democracy.”

It seems that there was more at play for the protesters than just rallying around in support of sexual assault survivors. Archila may have been as much against Kavanaugh for his politics as for the allegations. In her USA Today commentary, she revealed her political views, writing, “Brett Kavanaugh is not fit to serve.”

“Much of his record on civil rights, worker protections, health care and reproductive justice is an abomination. So, too, is his personal history of treating women as less deserving of respect and control over our lives, as these accusations against him have shown,” Archila wrote.

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the activist had political motives for the confrontation, but the revelation of her ties to Soros falls in line with concerns that many Kavanaugh protesters are paid players in the political arena.

George Soros Still Quietly Buying District Attorneys’ Seats

Reported by Photo of Peter Hasson Peter Hasson | Associate Editor | 10:06 PM 05/18/2017

George Soros has all but bought another district attorney’s seat.

The left-wing billionaire turned the Philadelphia district attorney’s race on its head by giving $1.45 million to fund a super PAC in support of his preferred candidate, Larry Krasner. Krasner, a progressive lawyer who has never worked as a prosecutor, sailed to an easy victory in the Democratic primary on Tuesday. Because Philadelphia is a Democratic stronghold, Krasner’s primary victory all but guarantees him to win the general election in November.

The influx of money from Soros gave Krasner a significant leg up over his opposition. Despite splitting votes with six other candidates, Krasner, who was not a favorite to win before Soros’ investment, finished 18 points ahead of the second-place finisher. As one Philadelphia Inquirer writer put it after the billionaire’s investment: “Soros changed the game.” (RELATED: Hillary Bankroller George Soros: ‘Implicit Bias’ A Ploy To Change Anti-Discrimination Laws)

The outcome of the Philadelphia district attorney’s race followed a now-familiar playbook. A candidate aligned with Soros’ left-wing politics emerged victorious thanks to the billionaire’s willingness to flood local races with the kind of capital typically reserved for important national political campaigns. Soros, a funder of Black Lives Matter, is a staunch advocate for reforming policing methods and softening drug laws. Installing like-minded district attorneys allows Soros the opportunity to influence law enforcement policies around the country.

In one such instance, Soros poured $600,000 into the Houston district attorney’s race last fall. Soros initially gave $100,000 to Morris Overstreet, a former judge who was the first African-American elected to a statewide office in Texas history. Overstreet’s Democratic primary opponent, Kim Ogg, called Soros’ influx of cash “a last-minute money dump to try to buy the nomination.” Ogg won the Democratic primary and later the general election, thanks in part to her own last-minute money dump from Soros, who spent $500,000 on ads supporting Ogg.

Soon after she was sworn in, Ogg moved to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana, placing her at odds with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ call for stricter enforcement of the nation’s drug laws.

Soros spent more than $7 million influencing local prosecutorial races in 2015 and 2016, The Washington Times reported.

It appears that Soros will continue involving himself in local races.

His intervention on behalf of Krasner was the first time in Philadelphia history that a super PAC had supported a candidate for district attorney, Philadelphia Magazine noted. Whitney Tymas, an officer for the Soros-funded super PAC, told the magazine that the money flowing to Krasner was “because of his commitment to public safety and criminal justice reform.” As he often does, Soros worked from the shadows — Krasner claimed Soros supported him despite the fact that he’s  the billionaire or anyone from his organization. (RELATED: Leaked Docs Show How Soros Spends Big To Keep Populists Out Of Power In Europe)

“I think everybody realizes that the vast majority of police officers in Philadelphia are really good people,” Krasner said in a conciliatory victory speech. “Like me, they hate bad police officers and they need the backing of law enforcement to make sure that the good police officers are promoted, that the good police officers have room to do their job, that the good police officers are safe, and that the bad police officers who endanger them and who cause there to be disrespect and a rift between them and the community are out of the way.”

Krasner’s supporters, however, showed far less tact.

As the results rolled in, according to the Philadelphia Inquireranti-police chants rang out from the crowd: “No good cops in a racist system!”
