Marriage, Church and the State

RNS-SCOTUS-MARRIAGE b

Sometime next month the US Supreme Court will issue its decision on homosexual marriage.

Many of us fear it will be another disaster, like Roe v Wade – a handful of unelected and unrepresentative judges will strike down the nation’s and/or states’ laws and seek to force sodomite marriage on everyone, whether they like it or not.

Everyone concerned about the fundamental institution of marriage, especially Christians, will need to have a major rethink as to how we respond, and what changes, if any, we embark upon. The whole issue of the state’s role in matters of marriage and family may well need to be reassessed.

Libertarians of course have long argued that the state should get out of the marriage business altogether, or at least just let individual states decide on which way to go. I have elsewhere argued against the libertarian position, believing there is a place for the state in this.

Libertarianism and Marriage, Part I

Libertarianism and Marriage, Part IIMore forced

A few simple truths need to be kept in mind here: marriage as an institution has preceded the state as an institution. The state has simply come along and recognized and affirmed the pre-existing and socially valuable institution of marriage. Because marriage is the world’s best institution to ensure the well-being of children, of the next generation, states have always acknowledged the importance of marriage, and have treated it accordingly. Because heterosexual marriage confers such tremendous benefits to society, societies have in turn conferred benefits on marriage.

While other close and committed forms of relationships can be of value, the state has only seen fit to give heterosexual marriage special status and special recognition, and rightly so. But as we go down the road of the state giving equal recognition and status to other types of relations, including homosexual ones, which are not of course in themselves open to procreation, then marriage loses its special place, and in effect is rendered null and void.

So by pushing for sodomite “marriage” we are not broadening marriage – we are destroying it. As I said, we now may have to think again about these sorts of relationships, especially if SCOTUS does its worse as we fear.Same Sex Marriage

One US state has already acted preventively here: Alabama. They have decided that it will stop issuing marriage licenses. One report on this begins this way:

The battle has been raging over redefining marriage in Alabama, as the state’s constitution declares marriage to be between a man and a woman. However, federal courts are attempting to force the state to issue marriage licenses to those practicing sodomy. In an attempt to stop probate judges from issuing licenses arbitrarily, the Alabama Senate passes bill by a vote of 22-3 without having to obtain permission from a government official.

Senate Bill 377, a bill which would end marriage licensing and replace it with a contract process, was approved by the Alabama Senate on May 19. According to the text of the bill, it would abolish the requirement to obtain a marriage license from the judge of probate. “This bill would provide that marriage would be entered into by simple contract, would specify the information required to be included in the contract of marriage, would specify that each party entering into a contract of marriage would submit a properly executed contract to the judge of probate for recording, and would require the judge of probate to forward a copy of the contract of marriage to the Office of Vital Statistics,” reads the synopsis of the bill….

In other words, [Senator Greg Albritton (R-Bay Minette), who introduced the bill] wants the issue of marriage back in the hands of the Church. While the contract portion would be recognized legally, the requirements for marriage to be handled lawfully under the umbrella of the Church would remain intact.

This is one option, but whether it is the best option remains to be seen. As I mentioned above, there can indeed be a role for the state in marriage matters. And by seeking to argue for church-based marriage, while allowing for other forms, we may end up creating a two-tiered (or more) marriage system. This too would work against marriage and its purposes.

The issue of who conducts a marriage or who issues licenses is just a small portion of the debate. The bigger issue here is will we allow marriage to become whatever anyone wants it to become? By letting marriage simply be that which lies in the eye of the beholder, we again effectively destroy marriage.

When marriage can mean anything, then marriage means nothing. So we have to be careful as we seek to resist the harm of a possible SCOTUS ruling that we don’t also create harm elsewhere. One Christian writer has already weighed in on the Alabama decision. Bryan Fischer says it is “a mistake to get pastors out of signing marriage licenses”. He writes:

A rear-guard movement has recently emerged to get the state out of the marriage licensing business altogether, in what will prove to be a vain attempt to slow down the rampage to impose sodomy-based marriage on the entire country.

Alabama’s state senate has made the latest foray in this direction by passing a bill that makes marriage a mere matter of contract. Under this bill, the state would no longer issue marriage licenses but simply enter privately forged marriage contracts in some kind of registry. Civil government would not be approving of such marriages, it would only be recording them. In practice, this means if the Supreme Court imposes sodomy-based marriage on the entire nation next month, Alabama would instantly become the easiest place in America for two homosexuals to get married. All they’d have to do is sign a piece of paper and turn it in. Easy-peasy. I don’t think this is what the well-intentioned legislators in Alabama have in mind. But that’s what they will get.

Other voices are urging pastors to get out of the role of signing wedding licenses on behalf of civil government, as if this represents some inappropriate mixing of church and state. They want a wedding to be a purely spiritual, religious affair with no involvement, participation or recognition by civil government whatsoever.

This, however, ignores the likelihood that gay activists would still go after pastors to press them to do purely religious ceremonies for them. Eventually, they will find a judge who will order pastors to perform such purely religious ceremonies, on the grounds that a (counterfeit) constitutional “right” to have a homosexual wedding ceremony trumps the actual constitutional right to decline to perform one.burke

He raises some valid points here (see his entire article). There is much to think about, and many issues need to be weighed up. The truth is, marriage is under attack, and if SCOTUS does not launch the final nail in the coffin in June, there will be other attempts to do the same. One thing is for sure: it will no longer be business as usual. The church will be impacted by this – big time. How should it respond? Let me close with the words of Rick Scarborough, President of Vision America Action:

Because of the trends and cultural shifts that we have witnessed in culture over the past 40 years, we have all known that this day would likely come and Christians would be put at odds with the culture and the courts. I believe we are there. We are approaching a Bonhoeffer moment in America.Picture2

Outrageous penalties are now being assessed against people of faith and conviction who haven’t changed their position on marriage. Rather it’s the courts that have changed the definitions, the rules and laws that now govern us. They are ruling against Nature’s Law and Nature’s God. Christians are being declared the lawbreakers when we are simply living by what we have always believed, and by a set of laws that the culture historically has agreed to.

My desire as a pastor is to see another Great Awakening, and I pray that those caught up in any sin will find Jesus and God’s grace, but that can only come when there is a biblical standard lifted up and acknowledged as truth. Right now the courts are changing the playing field and declaring that what the natural eye can see and natural law reveals is not truth. Therefore, this is a Bonhoeffer moment. What will we do, and how will we respond?

Civil disobedience will likely have to be one of our responses. But we can and must, in the meantime, pray like never before and work like never before while waiting for this SCOTUS ruling.

Chris Kyle’s Widow: ‘I Proudly Stand With,’ Endorse Rick Perry

waving flagFriday, 29 May 2015, By John Blosser

Chris Kyle’s Widow: ‘I Proudly Stand With,’ Endorse Rick Perry (Chris Keane/Reuters)

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has picked up a major endorsement in his apparently planned run for the White House in 2016 from Taya Kyle, widow of the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history.  Kyle enthusiastically has endorsed Perry’s quest to become president, saying of Perry and his wife, Anita, “I’ve had an up-close view of their humility and commitment to doing the right thing for people regardless of who gets the credit,” USA Today reported.  “Believe me, they are a breath of fresh air in a political system full of people playing games and twisting the truth,” she said.

She confirmed that she plans to attend Perry’s announcement at the Addison, Texas, airport on Thursday, “where I’ll proudly stand with one of the great leaders this state and country have ever produced: Rick Perry.”  Taya wrote, “Even though he (Chris Kyle) is gone, this state that shaped his patriotism, integrity and loving spirit reminds us of him at every turn. I tend to keep my political opinions to myself … but this is different. I look beyond the sound bites and even minor disagreements to find who has the economic track record and the character it takes to make tough choices in the face of criticism,” she said, Breitbart News reported.

Chris Kyle’s military heroism resulted in Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signing a proclamation recognizing Feb. 2 as Chris Kyle Day in the Lone Star State, and a hit movie by Clint Eastwood, “American Sniper,” based on Kyle’s autobiography, Breitbart reported.  Since Kyle was murdered in 2013 by a veteran he was trying to help overcome PTSD, Taya Kyle has worked to promote veterans’ causes and authored her own autobiography, “American Wife: Love, War, Faith and Renewal.”

Perry praised Kyle at his funeral before 7,000 in attendance at Dallas Cowboys Stadium, saying, “Chris Kyle was the public face of an anonymous breed of American warrior who are handed the hardest missions and assume the largest risks. Chris was among the very best at what he did, and he saved countless American lives in the process. Our state and our nation suffered a profound loss with his passing,” CBS News reported.

Also expected to be in attendance are retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of the book, “Lone Survivor,” and his wife, Melanie, and retired Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor Recipient Mike Thornton, according to Perry’s website, RickPAC.

Hollywood star caught on tape teaching his kid something awesome about America

waving flagby Wilson Thursday, May 28, 2015

It’s kind of sad that a video like this out of Hollywood is an exception rather than the norm, but that doesn’t make the moment any less touching. Chris Pratt, star of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and ‘Jurassic World’, spent Memorial Day teaching his son the Pledge of Allegiance. It’s something we all take for granted, but we don’t often see the moments where we learn something so important to our lives as Americans caught on camera. “Meant to post this on Memorial Day but I was in China and my phone wasn’t working. I’m proud to be American. I’m blessed to get to travel the world!” Chris wrote on Facebook.

The video went mega-viral after he posted, and has already racked up over a million views.

Minimum Wage Lesson: Union That Campaigned for It Wants Exemption

waving flagPosted on May 28, 2015Mark Horne

 Union-Bosses

The union officials who demanded no exceptions to the Los Angeles minimum wage hike are now giving us a minimum wage lesson by asking for an exception.

Minimum wage increases don’t increase unemployment, they argue. Or, rather, they assert. There is no argument.

But then suddenly the truth comes out when the very people arguing that a higher minimum wage must be inflicted on all businesses without exception suddenly demand an exception in order to increase union employment.

From the Los Angeles Times: “L.A. labor leaders seek minimum wage exemption for firms with union workers.” yourgreed

Labor leaders, who were among the strongest supporters of the citywide minimum wage increase approved last week by the Los Angeles City Council, are advocating last-minute changes to the law that could create an exemption for companies with unionized workforces.

The push to include an exception to the mandated wage increase for companies that let their employees collectively bargain was the latest unexpected detour as the city nears approval of its landmark legislation to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020.Picture5

For much of the past eight months, labor activists have argued against special considerations for business owners, such as restaurateurs, who said they would have trouble complying with the mandated pay increase.

So the entire campaign was a pretense. Now that the law is about to be enforced, we suddenly find out that labor leaders want unions carved out of the protections. But if the reason for a minimum wage law was to protect workers from low wages, then why should unions get permission to reverse that protection and allow them to be exploited again?

“With a collective bargaining agreement, a business owner and the employees negotiate an agreement that works for them both. The agreement allows each party to prioritize what is important to them,” Hicks said in a statement. “This provision gives the parties the option, the freedom, to negotiate that agreement. And that is a good thing.”Bull

But if having options and freedom is so great, then why not give it to everyone? After all, if people would prefer the union to negotiating by themselves they can always join the union. So if people don’t want the union, why shouldn’t they have the freedom to make their own “bargaining agreement” with a business owner?

What is going on? Very simple: This was never a campaign to raise the pay for all workers to fifteen dollars an hour as far as the union leaders were concerned. That was always a deception. This entire campaign was a way for them to give unions leverage to make more businesses hire and negotiate with union members in a collective bargaining situation. The union leaders knew all along that forcing wages higher would lead to unemployment. But their plan was to give the unions the capacity to underbid non-union workers in L.A. They want non-union workers to be unemployed and allow union workers to work for less than the minimum wage.

So not only do we see that Liberals believe that higher minimum wage laws lead to greater unemployment, but we also see that they were counting on it.

‘I’m Afraid’: Baltimore Residents Now Want Police to Do More After Arrests Plunge, Violence Soars

BALTIMORE (TheBlaze/AP) — A 31-year-old woman and a young boy were shot in the head Thursday, becoming Baltimore’s 37th and 38th homicide victims so far this month, the city’s deadliest in 15 years. Meanwhile, arrests have plunged: Police are booking fewer than half the number of people they pulled off the streets last year.

Arrests were already declining before Freddie Gray died on April 19 of injuries he suffered in police custody, but they dropped sharply thereafter, as his death unleashed protests, riots, the criminal indictment of six officers and a full-on civil rights investigation by the U.S. Justice Department that has officers working under close scrutiny.

“I’m afraid to go outside,” said Antoinette Perrine, whose brother was shot down three weeks ago on a basketball court near her home in the Harlem Park neighborhood of West Baltimore. Ever since, she has barricaded her door and added metal slabs inside her windows to deflect gunfire.

“It’s so bad, people are afraid to let their kids outside,” Perrine said. “People wake up with shots through their windows. Police used to sit on every corner, on the top of the block. These days? They’re nowhere.”

West Baltimore residents worry they’ve been abandoned by the officers they once accused of harassing them, leaving some neighborhoods like the Wild West without a lawman around.

“Before it was over-policing. Now there’s no police,” said Donnail “Dreads” Lee, 34, who lives in the Gilmor Homes, the public housing complex where Gray, 25, was chased down. “People feel as though they can do things and get away with it. I see people walking with guns almost every single day, because they know the police aren’t pulling them up like they used to.”

People were quick to note that Baltimore residents seemingly wanted police out of their neighborhoods before the violence spiked.

t01 t02 t03 t04

But Police Commissioner Anthony Batts said his officers “are not holding back,” despite encountering dangerous hostility in the Western District. “Our officers tell me that when officers pull up, they have 30 to 50 people surrounding them at any time,” Batts said.

Batts provided more details at a City Council meeting Wednesday night, saying officers now fear getting arrested for making mistakes. “What is happening, there is a lot of levels of confusion in the police organization. There are people who have pain, there are people who are hurt, there are people who are frustrated, there are people who are angry,” Batts said. “There are people, and they’ve said this to me, `If I get out of my car and make a stop for a reasonable suspicion that leads to probable cause but I make a mistake on it, will I be arrested?’ They pull up to a scene and another officer has done something that they don’t know, it may be illegal, will they be arrested for it? Those are things they are asking.”

Protesters said Gray’s death is emblematic of a pattern of police violence and brutality against impoverished African-Americans in Baltimore. In October, Batts and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake invited the Justice Department to participate in a collaborative review of police policies. The fallout from Gray’s death prompted the mayor to ramp that up, and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch agreed to a more intensive probe into whether the department employs discriminatory policing, excessive force and unconstitutional searches and arrests.

Baltimore was seeing a slight rise in homicides this year even before Gray’s death April 19. But the 38 homicides so far in May is a major spike, after 22 in April, 15 in March, 13 in February and 23 in January.

With one weekend still to go, May 2015 is already the deadliest month in 15 years, surpassing the November 1999 total of 36.

Ten of May’s homicides happened in the Western District, which has had as many homicides in the first five months of this year as it did all of last year. Non-fatal shootings are spiking as well – 91 so far in May, 58 of them in the Western District.

The mayor said her office is “examining” the relationship between the homicide spike and the dwindling arrest rate.

Even before Gray’s death, police were making between 25 and 28 percent fewer arrests each month than they made in the same month last year. But so far in May, arrests are down roughly 56 percent. Police booked just 1,045 people in the first 19 days of May, an average of 55 a day. In the same time period last year, police arrested 2,396 people, an average of 126 a day.

In fact, police did not make any arrests in the triple digits between April 22 and May 19, except on two occasions: On April 27, when protests gave way to rioting, police arrested 246 people. On May 2, the last day of a city-wide curfew, police booked 140 people.

At a news conference Wednesday, Rawlings-Blake said there are “a lot of reasons why we’re having a surge in violence.”

BALTIMORE, MD - APRIL 26: Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake (Photo by Drew Angerer/Getty Images)

“Other cities that have experienced police officers accused or indicted of crimes, there’s a lot of distrust and a community breakdown,” Rawlings-Blake said. “The result is routinely increased violence.”

“It’s clear that the relationship between the commissioner and the rank-and-file is strained,” she added. “He’s working very hard to repair that relationship.” more evidence

Emergency response specialist Michael Greenberger cautions against directly blaming police. The founder and director of the University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security, the spike in homicides is more likely a response to Gray’s death and the rioting. “We went through a period of such intense anger that the murder rate got out of control. I think it’s been really hard for the police to keep on top of that,” he said.

Lee disagrees. He says rival gang members are taking advantage of the police reticence to settle old scores. “There was a shooting down the street, and the man was standing in the middle of the street with a gun, just shooting,” Lee added. “Usually, you can’t walk up and down the street drinking or smoking weed. Now, people are everywhere smoking weed, and police just ride by, look at you, and keep going. There used to be police on every corner. I don’t think they’ll be back this summer.”

Batts acknowledged that “the service we’re giving is off-target with the community as a whole” and he promised to pay special attention to the Western District.

Veronica Edmonds, a 26-year-old mother of seven in the Gilmor Homes, said she wishes the police would return, and focus on violent crime rather than minor drug offenses. “If they focused more on criminals and left the petty stuff alone, the community would have more respect for police officers,” she said.

Cuba Formally Removed From U.S. List of State Sponsors of Terrorism

HAVANA (AP) — The Obama administration on Friday formally removed Cuba from a U.S. terrorism blacklist, a decision hailed in Cuba as the healing of a decades-old wound and an important step toward normalizing relations between the Cold War foes.

Secretary of State John Kerry signed off on rescinding Cuba’s “state sponsor of terrorism” designation exactly 45 days after the Obama administration informed Congress of its intent to do so on April 14. Lawmakers had that amount of time to weigh in and try to block the move, but did not do so.

“The 45-day congressional pre-notification period has expired, and the secretary of state has made the final decision to rescind Cuba’s designation as a state sponsor of terrorism, effective today, May 29, 2015,” the State Department said in a statement.

“While the United States has significant concerns and disagreements with a wide range of Cuba’s policies and actions, these fall outside the criteria relevant to the rescission of a state sponsor of terrorism designation,” the statement said.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

The step comes as officials from the two countries continue to hash out details of restoring full diplomatic relations, including opening embassies in Washington and Havana and returning ambassadors to the two countries for the first time since the U.S. severed diplomatic relations with the island in January 1961. The removal of Cuba from the terrorism list had been a key Cuban demand.

The Cold War-era designation was levied mainly for Cuba’s support of leftist guerrillas around the world and isolated the communist island from much of the world financial system because banks fear repercussions from doing business with designated countries. Even Cuba’s Interests Section in Washington lost its bank in the United States, forcing it to deal in cash until it found a new banker this month.

The terror list is a particularly charged issue for Cuba because of the U.S. history of supporting exile groups responsible for attacks on the island, including the 1976 bombing of a Cuban passenger flight from Barbados that killed 73 people aboard. The attack was linked to Cuban exiles with ties to U.S.-backed anti-Castro groups and both men accused of masterminding the crime took shelter in Florida, where one, Luis Posada Carriles, currently lives.

“I think this could be a positive act that adds to hope and understanding and can help the negotiations between Cuba and the United States,” said director Juan Carlos Cremata, who lost his father in the 1976 bombing. “It’s a list we never should have been on,” said Ileana Alfonso, 57, who also lost her father in the attack.

U.S. and Cuban officials have said the two sides are close to resolving the final issues but the most recent round of talks ended last Friday with no announcement of an agreement. Even as many of the biggest hurdles, including the terrorism designation, have been cleared, Washington and Havana are still wrangling over American demands that its diplomats be able to travel throughout Cuba and meet with dissidents without restrictions. The Cubans are wary of activity they see as destabilizing to their government.

Both the U.S. and Cuba say the embassies are a first step in a larger process of normalizing relations. That effort would still have to tackle bigger questions such as the embargo, which only Congress can fully revoke, as well as the future of the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay and Cuba’s democracy record.freedom combo 2

Jerry Brown
California Governor Jerry “MOONBEAM” Brown

In the state of California, heterosexual married couples can no longer be referred to as husbands and wives. Democrat Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill into law that not only redefines marriage, but eliminates any reference to husband and wife, replacing each with the generic term “spouse.”

SB 1306 was sponsored by Democrat Mark Leno from San Francisco. Christian News Network reports on the content of said bill:

“Under existing law, a reference to ‘husband’ and ‘wife,’ ‘spouses,’ or ‘married persons,’ or a comparable term, includes persons who are lawfully married to each other and persons who were previously lawfully married to each other, as is appropriate under the circumstances of the particular case,” it reads. “The bill would delete references to ‘husband’ or ‘wife’ in the Family Code and would instead refer to a ‘spouse,’ and would make other related changes.”

Leno sponsored the bill after Proposition 8, in which California voters said no to same-sex marriage, was declared unconstitutional by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court refused to overturn it. State Rep. Leno said of his legislation, “This legislation removes outdated and biased language from state codes and recognizes all married spouses equally, regardless of their gender.”Liberalism a mental disorder 2

In response to Governor Brown striking the term husband and wife from all family code, attorney Matthew Reynolds addressed his actions as a ‘raw exercise of power.”

“This bill continues the pattern we’ve been seeing the last few years of politicians ignoring the people to advance the agenda of marriage redefinition,” Matthew McReynolds, attorney with the Pacific Justice Institute in California, told Christian News Network. “What these politicians don’t want people to know is that their actions are illegitimate. Contary to media myths, Prop. 8 has not been invalidated on a statewide basis. Instead, these politicians are exercising raw power, ignoring the Constitution and counting on the people and the courts not to hold them accountable.”Picture1

Beheadings, suicide bombings and the destruction of ancient artefacts: Anti-ISIS artwork depicting terror group’s most horrific crimes go on display in IRANIAN competition

By Jenny Stanton For Mailonline

Pens and pencils were the weapons of choice for artists taking part in an anti-Islamic State cartoon and caricature competition held in Iran. More than 1,000 images were submitted to Iran’s House of Cartoon competition and 270 were put on display at an exhibition on Sunday. Artists from more than 40 countries, including the UK and Australia, entered the Daesh (ISIS) International Cartoon and Caricature Contest.

Evocative: This is one of more than 1,000 entries to the Iranian anti-ISIS competition launched in February

The submitted artwork depicts the terrorists' most horrific crimes, including ISIS' attacks on homosexuals

An Islamic State commander removes people's brains and replaces them with explosives in this cartoon

Heartless: Men leave behind their hearts and their brains when they become terrorists, according to this artist

Death: Sculls and the word Daesh - the Persian name for Islamic State - are portrayed in this piece of art

Graphic artist Massoud Shojaei Tabatabali, head of the House of Cartoon, told Press TV they now have plans to hold the exhibition in other countries like Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. ‘In order to reveal the true nature of ISIL we decided to hold this contest and have people submit their cartoons or caricatures,’ he said. ‘ISIL tries to associate itself with Islam, but in essence has no idea about Islam.’

The contest, launched in February, focuses on the terror group’s horrific crimes, including beheadings, attacks on homosexuals, suicide bombings and the destruction of ancient artefacts. The artwork will be judged by a team of experts and the winners will be announced on May 31.

Fears: The terrorists might not be afraid of spiders and scorpions but they are scared of the power of writing, this artist claims

I finally found a Mexican willing to do a job no American will do! I have an explosive book on the No. 1 issue in the country coming out next week, I’ve already written 10 New York Times best-sellers — I’d be on a postage stamp if I were a liberal — but can’t get an interview on ABC, NBC or CBS. Only Mexican-born Jorge Ramos would interview me on his Fusion network. Yay, Jorge!

After a spellbinding interview, Ramos ended by asking this excellent question — which I had suggested myself for all authors, most of whom write very boring books, harming the marketability of my own books: “Is there anything in your book that isn’t already generally known?”

My soon-to-be-released book, ,is jam-packed with facts you didn’t already know. Don’t even think of using it as a coaster, like those other books.
These are just a few:

— Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 Immigration Act was expressly designed to change the demographics of our country to be poorer and more inclined to vote Democratic.

— It worked! Post-1970 immigrants vote 8-2 for the Democrats.

— Citing this dramatic shift in the Democratic Party’s fortunes, Democratic consultant Patrick Reddy called the 1965 Immigration Act “the Kennedy family’s greatest gift to the Democratic Party.”

— Immigrants admitted before 1970 made more money, bought more houses and were more educated than Americans. The post-Kennedy immigrants are astronomically less-educated, poorer and more likely to be on welfare than the native population.

— With no welfare state to support them, about a third of pre-1965 Act immigrants returned to the places they came from. British and Jewish immigrants were the least likely to go home — less than 10 percent did.

— Although America is admitting more immigrants, they are coming from fewer countries than they did before 1970. On liberals’ own terms, the country is becoming less “diverse,” but a lot poorer and a lot more Latin.

 — America has already taken in one-fourth of Mexico’s entire population. Picture5
obama-border-is-open-378x257 — In 1970, there were almost no Nigerian immigrants in the United States. Our country is now home to more Nigerians than any country in the world except Nigeria.

— America takes more immigrants from Nigeria than from England.

The government refuses to tell us how many prisoners in the United States are immigrants. That information is not available anywhere. But the ancillary facts suggest that the number is astronomical.

There are more foreign inmates in New York state prisons from Mexico than from the entire continent of Europe

— Hispanics are less likely to be in the military than either whites or blacks, and a majority of Hispanic troops are women. On the other hand, Hispanics are overrepresented in U.S. Prisons. homeless

In Denmark, actual Danes come in tenth in criminals’ nationality, after Moroccans, Lebanese, Yugoslavians, Somalis, Iranians, Pakistanis, Turks, Iraqis and Vietnamese. America are you paying attention — At least 15 percent of all births in Peru and Argentina are to girls between the ages of 10 and 15. In the U.S., only 2 percent of births are to girls that young, and those are mostly Hispanics, who are seven times more likely to give birth at that age than white girls are.

Sex with girls as young as 12 years old is legal in 31 of the 32 states of Mexico.

— In all of Western Europe, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Israel combined, there have been eight reported births to girls aged 10 or younger. Seven of the eight were impregnated by immigrants.

— In some areas of America, law enforcement authorities have given up on prosecuting statutory rape cases against Mexican men in their 30s who impregnate 12- and 13-year-old girls, after repeatedly encountering parents who view their little girls’ pregnancies as a “blessing.”

— The same North Carolina newspapers that gave flood-the-zone coverage to a rape that never happened at a Duke lacrosse party completely ignore real rapes happening right under their noses, being committed against children by immigrants providing cheap labor to the state’s farming and meat-packing industries.

— Since 2004, Mexicans have beheaded at least a half-dozen people in the United States.

— Mexican drug cartels — not ISIS — pioneered the practice of posting videotaped beheadings online.

— An alleged “ISIS” beheading video making the rounds in 2014 was actually a Mexican beheading video from 2010.

— Post-1970 immigrants have re-introduced slavery to America. Indian immigrant Lakireddy Bali Reddy, for example, used the H1-B visa program, allegedly for “high-tech workers,” to bring in 12-year-old girls he had bought from their parents for sex.

— The above story was missed by the San Francisco Chronicle. It was broken by a high school journalism class.

The ACLU took Reddy’s side.

— We’re still letting in Hmong immigrants as a reward for their help with the ill-fated Vietnam War, which ended 40 years ago.

— Between 2000 and 2005, nearly 100 Hmong men were charged with rape or forced prostitution of girls in Minneapolis-St Paul, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The vast majority of the victims were 15 years old or younger. A quarter of the victims were not Hmong.

— Proponents of the 1965 immigration bill swore up and down that it would not alter this country’s demographic mix. In fact, Kennedy’s immigration policy has brought about the greatest demographic shift of any nation in world history.

— In 1980, Reagan won the biggest electoral landslide in history against an incumbent president, Jimmy Carter. Without the last 40 years of immigration, in 2012, Mitt Romney would have won a bigger landslide than Reagan did. He got more of the “Reagan coalition” than Reagan did. Only Reason
 — If Romney had won 71 percent of the Hispanic vote, he still would have lost. If he’d gotten just 4 percent more of the white vote, he would have won.

Adios, America! In bookstores next Monday, June 1.

You Need to Know What Really Happened in Ireland

waving flagPosted by avatar , on 27 May, 2015

I almost never do this, but I felt it was very important to share a letter with you so that the whole world could understand what really happened in Ireland as this predominantly Catholic nation voted decisively to redefine marriage.

After the vote, I posted this on Facebook:

What can we learn from the vote to redefine marriage in Ireland, a traditionally Catholic country?

1) Traditional “Christian” religion cannot stop the juggernaut of gay activism. Only a living, vibrant faith will have the energy and commitment and depth to stand firm.

2) Sex-scandals in the Catholic Church in the 1990’s robbed the Church of its moral authority. How can the Church speak to the society about sexual morality when it has largely disqualified itself? Scandals like this take a long time to get over, and here in America, we have been plagued by Evangelical scandals as well, involving some of our well-known leaders. To the extent we are deemed hypocritical, to that extent we lack moral authority.

3) Ireland was not ready for the massive influx of gay activist funding from America. Sadly, from President Obama down, America has been an aggressive force for normalizing homosexuality, and without American funding and vision, it is doubtful that Ireland would have voted so strongly for such radical change.

What happened in Ireland should be a wake-up call for the Church worldwide.Same Sex Marriage

In response to my post, a woman who supports our ministry and lives in Ireland wrote to me, concerned that I was implying that believers in Ireland “hadn’t done enough to get the Gospel out.” (Actually, the reverse was true: I wanted people to understand the opposition they faced.)

She continued: “Let me tell you more about what really happened here…”

What she wrote is so important, giving detailed support to what I had read elsewhere, that I wanted to shout it from the rooftops for everyone to hear. There was extraordinary pressure brought against those who stood for marriage in Ireland, and the vote hardly reflects an unbiased enlightenment.

She wrote:

I am an Irish citizen who voted and campaigned for a NO vote. For anyone who thinks we were negligent concerning the Gospel or in any other way, let me tell you some of what we were up against…

This news is devastating to the nearly 37.9% of us who voted NO, many of us born again Christians.

We tried so hard to prevent it, but were up against every political party and up against millions of US dollars that were being poured into the yes campaign.

American billionaire, Chuck Feeney alone contributed over $24 million. Every ‘civil rights’ group on the block was behind the yes vote.

When NO vote campaign signs were posted in Dublin and other places, they were vandalized. Public media is supposed to allow 50:50 coverage for each side of a constitutional issue. This was blatantly ignored.

The public police force was drafted in to support the YES vote and to register college students to vote, and they passed out YES badges to each student as they did so.

And these things are only part of the story. The pressure was incessant and unbelievable. Even the ballot paper was biased. We argued that the term ‘marriage equality’ was biased, but yet that term made it on to the ballot paper.

Meanwhile, Christians fasted and prayed. We passed out flyers. We used social media to communicate our concerns. But all this was on a very grass roots level.

Only the Iona Institute stood up for the No vote. Only three representatives in our entire Dail (our parliament) stood up for a No vote.

Is there any small nation on earth that would survive such an onslaught? I’m actually amazed that the NO vote was as high as 37.9% after what I have seen.

As for the Gospel, can any of us really do ‘enough’? No matter how much we do, will we not always wish we could do more? We have God on our side though. I believe He has allowed this to happen for His reasons. But we will have the ultimate victory.War on Christians

Sadly, the tried and true tactics of bullying, intimidation, media bombardment, aggressive activism, and massive US funding won another victory for the gay revolution.

But this Irish Christian woman is absolutely right: We will have the ultimate victory (not over gays but in the Lord), which is one of the main points I make in my newest book, due out in September, Outlasting the Gay Revolution: Where Homosexual Activism Is Really Going and How to Turn the Tide.

Right now, though, the believers in Ireland need our prayers, our encouragement, and our solidarity. This is part of an all-out war on the gospel.

California Bill Requires Pro-Life Centers to Advertise for Abortions

waving flagPosted on May 28, 2015Philip Hodges

 Picture14 Picture15

According to liberals, the abortion industry is the most regulated industry in the nation. It’s definitely regulated, but that doesn’t stop abortions from being performed. The abortion industry is in no danger of having to shut down, because so much of it is taxpayer-subsidized. And if there were ever any financial distress, they’d get bailed out in a heartbeat.

Pro-life centers are also highly regulated, depending on which state they’re in. In California, they just passed a bill that will force pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise the state’s public programs that provide surgical and chemical abortions. And if these pro-life centers decide not to comply with those regulations, they get fined. Breitbart reported:

On Tuesday, the California State Assembly passed AB 775, known burkeas the Reproductive Freedom, Accountability, Comprehensive Care and Transparency (FACT) Act. Authored by Assemblymembers David Chiu (D-San Francisco) and Autumn Burke (D-Los Angeles), the bill states that the act require a licensed covered facility, as defined, to disseminate a notice to all clients, as specified, stating, among other things, that California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services, prenatal care, and abortion, for eligible women.”its time

Not only would the bill require some pregnancy centers, specifically those devoted to pro-life causes, to advertise the mommy can you feel meavailability of abortion, but it would also fine facilities that do not comply. The bill states that it would “authorize the Attorney General, city attorney, or county counsel to bring an action to impose a specified civil penalty against covered facilities that fail to comply with these requirements.”

An abortion supporter picketing outside a pro-life center on public property is one thing. But forcing centers that aim to save the lives of the unborn to push abortions on their clients is something else entirely. I think it would be great if abortion centers advertised for pro-life centers. But I don’t think it should be required by law.

States have tried legislation that requires abortion providers to give mothers ultrasounds (depending on how far along they are) so that they can see their child and/or hear the child’s heartbeat before having an abortion. Obviously, abortion providers don’t like those kinds of laws, because they’re bad for business. While those laws are well-intentioned, I don’t really like them either, because they don’t deal with the source of the problem.

Ultrasound laws have no doubt helped to save some unborn babies’ lives, and that’s great. But as long as we have a semblance of a free market, I think we could tackle abortion through competition. If Christians cared that much about abortion, we would be funneling hundreds of millions of dollars into pro-life counseling centers, helping to market them and make them a true competitive force. There’d be TV and radio commercials, billboards, events and so on. It would be an uphill battle, because of how much resistance we’d be faced with. But we would win. We wouldn’t have to regulate the abortion business out of existence. That’s the way they handle everything. Through burdening government regulations. We could prove to them that there’s simply more demand for life.

Of course, at the same time, there needs to be a cultural, spiritual shift. The instant gratification of an abortion carries with it a lifetime of emotional and psychological side effects brought about by guilt. Christians need to not only donate their time and money to pro-life causes, but be out there helping to draw these single mothers and absentee fathers into the Church. We should want to eradicate abortion. But more importantly, we should strive to end the very demand for it.freedom combo 2

After Giving ‘Space To Destroy,’ Baltimore Mayor Wants Americans To Save Her Skin In Big Way

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake will now lead the charge to…

The dollar costs of the recent Baltimore riots are starting to be added up, and they’re staggering. Not only are these figures Really with logoclimbing into the tens-of-millions of dollars, but Baltimore officials are looking for outside help to pay the bills — that means they want U.S. taxpayers to shell out to bail out the budget of a city criticized by many for doing little to stop the mayhem.

According to an article in The Baltimore Sun, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake — who infamously said she initially wanted to give the Freddie Gray rioters “who wished to destroy, space to do that” — will now lead the charge to seek “reimbursement” from the federal government for Baltimore’s expenses in dealing with the violent protestors, looters, arsonists and trouble-makers who terrorized parts of the city.Picture3

Baltimore’s finance director says, at this point, the price tag for the city’s part in covering riot expenses will be at least $20 million — that includes costs of police personnel and equipment. And guess where they want to go to get some of the money to cover that bill? “Henry J. Raymond, Baltimore’s finance director, said the city can temporarily cover the costs from its rainy day fund while seeking reimbursement for up to 75 percent from Federal Emergency Management Agency,” reports The Sun newspaper.

Those federal funds would, supposedly, be made available if President Obama issues a disaster declaration because of the widespread damage from the racially charged rioting and the police action in response to it. “The $20 million estimate released by city officials does not include the cost to businesses of the unrest. The figure also does not include state or federal costs. It’s unclear when those figures will be tallied.”

To be clear, that estimated $20 million hit to the city’s budget doesn’t take into account the untold cost of repairing or rebuilding some 380 businesses attacked by rioters during the unrest that was sparked by the police-custody death of Freddie Gray. More federal funds could be directed toward getting those businesses going again, according to Bill Cole, president of the Baltimore Development Corp. “Businesses may also be eligible for loans from the Small Business Administration, which has estimated business damages of at least $9 million. The city will assist those seeking federal funds, Cole said.”Picture4

A recent article in the Baltimore Business Journal points out the additional costs to the city in terms of lost revenue because of businesses being shut down as well as tourists and conventions avoiding an area seen as tense and troubled. The report cited the lingering losses to Los Angeles following the riots there close to a quarter-century ago.

A 2004 study on the 1992 Los Angeles riots showed that over the 10 years following the riots there was a cumulative loss of at least $3.8 billion in taxable sales in the city.

Victor A. Matheson, co-author of the study, said he found that the economic impact of riots is even larger than that of natural disasters, because businesses are more likely to see natural disasters as a one-time occurrence as opposed to an ongoing safety issue.

Do you think Baltimore should be declared a disaster zone, making the city eligible for financial assistance from taxpayers outside the area? Feel free to let us know what you think by commenting below.freedom combo 2

When Blacks Riot, Whites Go Conservative

waving flagPosted On27 May 2015, By :

Picture2A new study conducted by a Princeton professor shows that when blacks riot, conservatives vote. Omar Wasow looked at the destructive black rioting of the 1960s and how it affected public policy. Critics are examining the study – “Nonviolence, Violence and Voting: Effects of the 1960s Black Protests on White Attitude and Voting Behavior” – to see what lessons it might hold for the Black Lives Matter movement today.

Wasow found that Richard Nixon was carried into the White House in 1968 by a “social backlash” that followed the urban rioting of the civil rights era. By analyzing the votes county by county, he discovered that “black protests in which some violence occurs are associated with a statistically significant decline in Democratic vote-share.” By contrast, Wasow says, black-led protests where there was no violence had the opposite effect on subsequent voting patterns. Whites were more willing to vote for liberal candidates when they had not recently been exposed to racial rioting. He goes as far as to conclude that, in the absence of violent protests, Hubert Humprhey would have likely defeated Nixon.

In writing about the study, the Washington Post said, “There are obviously many, many differences between the 1960s protests and those in 2014-2015 … To pick just one, the 1960s protests were larger and more numerous.”

Indeed. The other main difference is that the civil rights movement of the 1960s was actually based around legitimate issues. The current movement is based around complete fiction. One can surmise that in this atmosphere, even nonviolent protests may encourage people to vote more conservatively in the next election. Considering the Black Lives Matter movement has inspired plenty of violence, the backlash may be even more significant once the next election rolls around. If so, it might spell doom for Hillary Clinton.core belief

Journalists will doubtlessly make hay from the racial component of the study, condemning whites for judging all blacks by the actions of a few. But there are plenty of reasons for conservative blowback following these riots and protests, and none of them have a thing to do with race. Americans crave law and order when they sense their communities are out of control. At a time when Democrats are pushing hard to slash black incarceration rates, riots like the ones seen in Ferguson and Baltimore are the worst things that could possibly happen. Violence aside, it’s easy to see how liberal Democrat policies have led us to the inner city problems we see today. When New York City was under Giuliani’s rule, things got clean. When the city went back to the Democrats, the crime returned. Under de Blasio, there’s no telling how dangerous the city will eventually become.cause of death

If Democrats suffer in 2016, they might want to consider how this backwards approach to crime and race contributed to their defeat.freedom combo 2

We Are So Much Closer to a Faith v. Government War Than We Know

waving flagPosted on May 27, 2015Rob Knowles

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” – Abraham LincolnLeftist determonation to destroy freedom of religion

A free society has a shelf-life of a few hundred years before it crumbles into a bloody mess. It all depends on the situations that bring about the downfall of the society, but regardless, there is a finite amount of time a free society has before it’s over. I think America’s experiment is coming to a close.

Now, I don’t believe this will happen in the next several years, but I do believe that in the next thirty to fifty years, we will fall. At the epicenter of this destruction will be religion versus secularism.

During an interview with CBN, Marco Rubio put it perfectly:

“If you think about it, we are at the water’s edge of the argument that mainstream Christian teaching is hate speech. Because today we’ve reached the point in our society where if you do not support same-sex marriage, you are labeled a homophobe and a hater…

After they are done going after individuals, the next step is to argue that the teachings of mainstream Christianity, the catechism of the Catholic Church is hate speech, and there’s a real and present danger.”Truth The New Hate Speech

Rubio hits the nail on the head. At the moment, it’s not religions themselves that are under attack, but their practitioners. Faith is background noise. But at a certain point, the secularists will continue to walk upstream, locating the source of all the “hate.” First, churches will lose their 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, because the government must not be in the business of promoting hate speech. Then the secularists will demand that the government get involved in churches themselves, examining what’s going on inside.

Hillary Clinton has already said, during a recent speech:

“Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will…And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed…”

Clinton was referring to “women’s reproductive health,” which is the buzzphrase for tearing little arms off and draining tiny heads. That’s how it will go down. In the interest of “the greater good,” the government will first pressure religions to change their “deep-seated” beliefs to accommodate women’s reproductive health, and same-sex marriage, and whatever comes next, and eventually, churches will be forced to accommodate or be punished. It’ll begin with fines, and go from there. Probation, prison, torture, death.

You may laugh, but look at what has happened in just the last ten years. Churches have been under attack in Texas, when preachers were asked for the content of their sermons by the Mayor of Houston, and participatory businesses in the wedding industry have been forced to accommodate something they believe is immoral or get sued out of existence.Clinton Democrat PartyThe Persecution has Begun

At the current point, we have the power and resources to fight back. Religious freedom laws, like the one passed in Indiana, and the ability of Christians across the country to contribute to a crowd-funding effort to keep a threatened business afloat give us the slight edge—but that will change.

Politics is downstream of culture, and at the moment, we are downstream of a cultural revolution–one which labels faith values as hate speech. It’s only a matter of time before that cultural revolution flows downstream to the political realms, and Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, etc, will be forced to choose a side: their faith, or their government. The choosing will tear this county apart.burke

People of faith will become pariahs, bibles will be banished, and we will no longer be allowed to practice our faith. Freedom of religion and freedom of speech will be litigated away, bit by bit. This will all happen under the guise of good, otherwise, it wouldn’t occur.tyrants

As Huxley said: “Hell isn’t merely paved with good intentions; it’s walled and roofed with them. Yes, and furnished too.” One cannot achieve success in any endeavor like the crushing of faith without doing so under the guise of good intentions. One cannot destroy good with simple evil, it must be dressed as further good.

The worst part is that it will happen so slowly that American idiots won’t notice. We humans are so distracted by ourselves; we’re like Narcissus looking in the water, unable to take his eyes off his own beauty. We can’t take our eyes off ourselves. As we continue to gaze into our own beautiful reflection, the world around us will crumble. When we finally look up, everything around us will have changed, and we will no longer be considered beautiful, but absolutely hideous. That’s how this will happen.want_rel_liberty_r War on Christians

In the end, we will either be secularists, and thus protected, or we will be faithful, and thus persecuted. The choice is coming. Ask the owners of “Sweet Cakes by Melissa,” or Google Tony Miano, who was arrested in London for his “hate speech.”

Christians need to wake up. If we don’t, we will be complicit in our own downfall. The clock is ticking, and the stream is moving.freedom combo 2

U.S. pushback against Muslim refugees ‘growing’

Article reblogged from WND: http://www.wnd.com

Somali refugees get ready to meet with city officials in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Somali refugees at a city-council meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Picture2WND has discovered what amounts to the government playbook for countering the rising “backlash” against the secret planting of Muslim refugees into cities and towns across America. The 2013 report anticipated two years ago that resistance would increase to the seeding of communities with Muslim refugees if counter measures were not undertaken.

The report was prophetic.

Last year, WND reported how the mayor of Athens, Georgia, requested the federal government not send any refugees to her town until she could get a handle on the costs. Earlier this year, another high-profile case of pushback emerged in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in Rep. Trey Gowdy’s district, a story WND first reported in April.

In Wyoming, the only state that does not have a refugee resettlement agreement with the U.S. State Department, Gov. Matt Mead was “exploring” whether he should start such a program. But after stories in the local media and on WND, Mead dropped the plan.

Now, WND has learned the government and its contractors have a stock plan on how to deal with what they call “backlash” to refugee resettlement in American cities. Titled “Resettlement at Risk: Meeting Emerging Challenges to Refugee Resettlement in Local Communities,” the report by one of the federal government’s top resettlement contractors admits that communities “across the country” are pushing back against the refugee program, especially when it involves the infusion of Muslims into their city or town.

In the wake of the report, the Obama administration has handed out millions of dollars in grants to organizations like Welcoming America, which works to “educate” elected officials and the public in “receiving communities” before refugees arrive. Welcoming America was started in 2010 with seed money from George Soros’s Open Society Institute.against America

The U.S. State Department, working with the United Nations, accepts about 70,000 foreign refugees for permanent resettlement in the United States each year, distributing them to more than 190 cities and towns across America. (See list of 190 office locations in every state)

Dealing with uncooperative elected leaders

The report lays out a strategy for dealing with uncooperative politicians who insist on representing the concerns of their constituents as opposed to the interests of the refugee industry.

The report calls for “new tools to fight back against a determined legislator or governor who has decided to challenge resettlement for political or other reasons.”

David Lubell of Welcoming America works closely with the White House to soften up the soil in cities targeted to receive an influx refugees.
David Lubell of Welcoming America works closely with the White House to soften up the soil in cities targeted to receive an influx refugees.

One of those tools is Obama-supporter David Lubell’s Welcoming America. The group is dispatched to areas where native-born Americans are not sufficiently “welcoming” and runs advertising campaigns on TV, radio and billboards touting the economic contributions of refugees and other “new Americans.”

The 2013 report, authored by the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society and financed by a wealthy New York family foundation, cites three examples of push back – in Georgia, Tennessee and New Hampshire.

Startling first-person accounts and chilling and exclusive undercover audio and video reveal “Jihad in America: The Grand Deception” (DVD).

Tamping down an uprising in Georgia

In Georgia, Gov. Nathan Deal in 2011 ordered a hold on federal money flowing to refugee resettlement contractors until a review of the program could be completed. A group of residents and at least one elected official in the city of Clarkston complained that the city was being overwhelmed by refugees and the governor wanted to investigate. “Although the governor’s office offered no reason for the review, it is believed that an elected official from Clarkston, a small city east of Atlanta, complained to the governor on behalf of a constituent,” the report states. “The official, who in 2003 had introduced legislation to require resettlement agencies to notify local government officials if 10 or more refugees would be resettled in a community at one time, told the governor’s office that Clarkston was at ‘capacity.’” That prompted an army of refugee advocates and lobbyists to leap into action.

“Facing the prospect of staff layoffs and the disruption of critical services for refugees, the network of agencies providing services to refugees created an informal coalition to advocate for the release of the federal funds,” the report says. “The coalition worked to gather information and educate elected officials, influential supporters of the governor, as well as police chiefs and school officials, about the economic benefits of refugee resettlement in Georgia.”Picture1

The coalition got U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., along with the Clarkston mayor, to write a letter to the governor in support of refugee resettlement. In December 2011 Deal relented and released federal funds for the resettlements to continue in Georgia. The resettlement contractor did, however, agree to decrease the number of refugees being sent to Georgia the following year by 20 percent.

Muslim refugees spark concerns about terrorismPicture4

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society is one of nine government contractors who do the resettlement work in more than 190 cities and towns across the U.S. These contractors subcontract with more than 350 smaller agencies and church groups to get the refugees settled into subsidized housing, get their children enrolled in school and families signed up for Medicaid. Among the other nine major contractors are the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Church World Services, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, Episcopal Migration Service, World Relief and the International Rescue Committee. These agencies describe themselves as nonprofit “charitable” organizations but they have the majority of their budgets covered by government grants.

Hebrew Immigrant Aid’s 30-page report says the danger of push back is exacerbated when Muslims are part of the equation. Americans have been less receptive to Muslim refugees than those coming from a Christian or other religious background.Really with logo

Hebrew Immigrant Aid cited fear of terrorism as one of the primary concerns that residents have with Muslim refugees settling in their communities. “…although cases of refugees connected to terrorism have been rare and refugees are among the most highly scrutinized and vetted immigrants in the U.S., anti-immigrant groups have suggested that the program is a gateway for terrorists. The recruitment of young Somalis by terrorist cells and the arrest of two resettled Iraqi refugees in Kentucky on terrorism charges have provided fuel for these allegations,” the report says.you think

Since the report was written in February 2013, scores more Somali refugees have been arrested for providing material support for overseas Islamic terror groups such as al-Shabab. Still others have left the country to fight for ISIS and al-Shabab.

Just last month six Somalis from Minnesota were arrested for trying repeatedly to fly to Turkey and join ISIS, leading U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger to proclaim, “We have a terror recruitment problem in Minnesota,” WND reported.

Shifting the blame to Americans

But the report blames the backlash not on any failure of the government to properly vet refugees but on “anti-Muslim views” held by native-born Americans. The report also points a finger at refugee watchdog Ann Corcoran, who started the Refugee Resettlement Watch blog in 2007 after she learned that Muslim refugees were arriving in her rural farm community in western Maryland.

Watch Ann Corcoran tell her personal story of how she got interested in the refugee movement and became the nation’s leading watchdog of refugee “contractors” posing as charitable organizations. vid 01

“Online forums such as Refugee Resettlement Watch have emerged for individuals critical of the resettlement program to share their concerns. Many of the posts express disdain for the refugee resettlement program, particularly the resettlement of Muslim refugees, along with anti-Muslim views,” the report states.

Corcoran has repeatedly stated that she is not against legitimate refugees but she does want the program to be halted until it can be “cleaned up.” She believes it is plagued by secrecy and lack of accountability and that public hearings should be held prior to any city being chosen as a “receiving community.” She says a complete impact study should be conducted and shared with local residents to remove the mystery that surrounds the program.

Countering the ‘resistance’

Besides Georgia and Maryland, major statewide resistance has occurred in New Hampshire and Tennessee, according to the report. “Tennessee, New Hampshire, and Georgia are the only states that have recently attempted to stop refugee resettlement at the legislative or executive level,” the report states. “Resistance to resettlement has emerged in other communities across the country as well, although those states have not pursued statewide measures to stop resettlement.”

A culture of secrecy

But the report was written before the emergence in March of a grassroots fight in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where World Relief has opened a resettlement office and decided to place 60 refugees from Syria, Congo and other countries over the next year. Once a resettlement office opens in a city, the deliveries of refugees continue year after year, Corcoran said. Spartanburg residents led by Christina Jeffrey, the former historian of the U.S. House of Representatives, approached their congressman, Gowdy, and started asking questions.

  • How many were coming,
  • when were they coming,
  • from what countries,
  • and what would the impact be on local services and the economy?
  • Where would the refugees find jobs in a city already plagued by high unemployment and poverty?

Gowdy said he did not know all of the answers, so he fired off a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry asking for details on how cities are selected, who is contacted for input on the local level, and many other pieces of information that are normally kept hidden from local communities. Kerry responded to Gowdy’s first letter on April 30, but Gowdy said the answers were vague and incomplete so he sent a second letter in early May demanding more precise information. “I think Spartanburg is the Waterloo, the watershed, where all of the pieces are coming together,” said Corcoran. “Activists there are going to stay in the fight no matter how heated it gets.”

Not allowed to evangelize Muslims

Jason Lee, a local pastor and director of World Relief Spartanburg, spoke at a meeting last Monday of the Spartanburg County Council. One of the arguments he made was that it was good that some of the refugees coming to South Carolina were non-Christians. “He said one of the advantages of the program is we can spread the gospel,” Jeffrey said. “One of the holes in that argument is that the money is coming from the federal government and it cannot be used to spread the gospel. They have a contract which they must sign obligating them not to evangelize, and if he doesn’t know that, he should know it, because he is the director of World Relief in Spartanburg.”Islam is NOT

Corcoran said the resettlement industry compiles an “enemies list” in local communities where resettlements encounter resistance. “They do research and develop a list of enemies and potential enemies,” she said.

And that’s not all.

“We recently learned that instructions have gone out nationwide to give citizens no information when they call a resettlement agency to ask for the abstract describing plans for their town,” Corcoran said. “It just further enhances their reputation for being secretive.’

“I had a lady email me from Connecticut recently who called her local Catholic Charities office to ask for their abstract, and they wrote back and said ‘who are you?’ before they would give her any information. She said she’d like that abstract.”

The “abstract” is the document describing the number of refugees planned for a given city, where they will come from and the expected impact on social services, schools and the job market. “We’ve recently been given word that citizens who seek these abstracts are being denied those documents and it appears to be a concerted national effort to shut down the flow of information from resettlement agencies to the local concerned citizens,” Corcoran said.Welcome to the Obama

“What you have here are rich foundations joining forces with the government and working against the regular hard-working Americans who just want to find out what is happening in their town,” Corcoran added.

Resistance is also more likely when refugees are sent to a smaller city or town, as opposed to a traditional gateway city like Chicago, L.A., Philadelphia, Boston or New York, according to the report. And if the city is in the midst of “economic distress,” which many smaller cities are, it is even more likely to push back against the planting of refugees because of the costs associated with integrating refugees into schools, housing, and healthcare services, the report says. The report says refugees tend to stand out in smaller communities where their “visibility” is accentuated.

The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society was granted $35,000 to write the report by the New York City-based J.M. Kaplan Fund, whose migration program is directed by Suzette Brooks-Masters, a former corporate and environmental lawyer. According to her LinkedIn page, Brooks Masters once worked for Soros’s Open Society as a researcher on the “Forced Migrations Project.”Picture7Obama-muslim-2-610x400

She was mentioned as a “friend” by immigration activists at a Washington press conference last month in which Obama rolled out his plan to create more “welcoming communities” for new immigrants and refugees. The newly formed White House Task Force on New Americans is making a concerted national effort to turn the immigrants into “new Americans” by removing barriers to citizenship. Brooks Masters says on her LinkedIn page that she is “launching the Receiving Communities Initiative with Welcoming America, and the creation of the Community College Consortium for Immigrant Education based at Westchester Community College and IMPRINT (a national collaboration to foster immigrant professional integration in the US workforce).” She says she is also working to finance the integration of unaccompanied alien children from Central America into U.S. communities. “I am also funding work on the local reception of unaccompanied minors and trying to improve the integration outcomes for refugees,” she said on her site.Picture9

Liberalism a mental disorder 2Use locals to fight resistance

In its recommendations, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid report says the work of countering backlash should be coordinated at the national level while using local people at the grassroots level to debunk and counter the claims of those in the resistance. The report also calls for Congress to increase funding of the refugee program, which currently costs taxpayers nearly $1.5 billion per year, not including the social welfare benefits handed out to refugees. Unlike most other categories of immigrants, refugees immediately qualify for food stamps, public housing, Medicaid, Social Security disability and TANF, a monthly cash assistance program for poor families with children.

The resettlement agencies claim that most refugees are “self-sufficient” within three to six months. But, Corcoran says, that does not mean they are earning their own living and paying their own way. “That only means that they have been set up on government welfare and the resettlement agencies are no longer helping them,” she said.hell

Senators pushing for ‘dramatically more’ Syrian refugees

Last week WND reported that 14 Democratic senators wrote a letter to Obama requesting that he “dramatically increase” the number of refugees allowed into the country from Syria. That country’s 5-year-old civil war has produced more than 3.5 million refugees and the senators said the U.S. should grant the request of the main lobbying arm of the nine refugee contractors, Refugee Council USA, and accept 65,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016. As for the 843 Syrians allowed to resettle in the U.S. since the civil war started, 92 percent have been Muslim. Less than 7 percent have been Christian.

WND also reported last week that Angela Davis, the late-1960s radical and former leader of the Communist Party USA who went on to lead the feminist studies program at the University of California at Santa Barbara, appeared at a rally in Berlin, Germany, May 14-15, in which she said “the refugee movement is the movement of the 21st century” for radical community organizers.

Read the entire Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society report on countering “backlash.” The report ends with six recommendations on how to counter backlash, among them being:

  • Get organized. Launch a funded, productive, organized initiative, coordinated nationally but strongly rooted in local action to raise awareness about the benefits of resettlement and “proactivity.”
  • Develop a rapid-response team plan that can respond to backlash quickly in communities facing or at risk of facing rising anti-refugee sentiment.
  • Conduct research on local anti-refugee leaders. The national refugee agencies should partner with groups such as the Center for New Community and the Southern Poverty Law Center to learn more about individuals and groups leading local efforts to resist resettlement, to determine if they belong to organized anti-immigrant or anti-Muslim organizations or networks.
  • Monitor state legislatures for anti-refugee bills and lobby accordingly.
  • The federal government should create national benchmarks for refugee integration and measure progress toward success.twoways to enslave a nation

Prepare Your Homes And Neighborhoods For The Violence That Is Going To Sweep America

Prepare Your Homes And Neighborhoods For The Violence That Is Going To Sweep America

The thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted on a daily basis is beginning to disappear, and a new era of chaos and anarchy is coming to our cities.

I don’t know if you have noticed, but violence is increasing on the streets of America.  Over Memorial Day weekend, 29 people were shot in Baltimore and 55 people were shot in Chicago.  But of course the trend that I am talking about is much broader than that.  According to the FBI, the number of police officers “feloniously killed” in the line of duty rose by an astounding 89 percent in 2014.  We live at a time when Americans are becoming extremely angry and extremely frustrated, and this is only going to intensify as economic conditions worsen.  But already we have seen some of this anger and frustration boil over into violence in Ferguson and in Baltimore.  And you know what?  The vast majority of Americans expect more of the same in the coming months.  According to a Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey that was recently released, 96 percent of all Americans believe that there will be more civil unrest in America this summer.  What we have seen up until now is just the warm up act.  The main event is still to come.

If things are this bad already, how bad will they be when the next great economic crisis hits this nation and unemployment skyrockets and poverty is everywhere?Cloward Pevin with explanation twoways to enslave a nation

That is why I am encouraging people that currently live in the heart of our major cities to consider moving.  Unfortunately, most Americans are completely dependent on the jobs that they currently have, so moving is not really a practical option for a lot of people.

For those that cannot move, you are just going to have to get prepared right where you are.  That means making your home and your family as unattractive a target to potential criminals as you possibly can.  The goal should be to avoid a violent confrontation if at all possible.  So you will want multiple layers of security between you and those that would potentially harm you and your family.  You want to try to deter the bad guys from ever coming on to your property in the first place, but if they do come, you need to be ready to deal with them.

At the moment, we are still in the midst of relatively stable economic times.  But even in these relatively stable times, violence is escalating.  Just consider what happened in Baltimore over the recent holiday weekend.  A grand total of 29 people were shot…

Police say 29 people were shot, 9 of them killed over this weekend, adding to the  record-breaking violence.

The shooting didn’t stop on Monday night after a 9-year-old boy and another man were both injured by gun fire in the 2900 block of Arunah Avenue. Police say the child was shot in the leg and another man suffered a graze wound to the head.

Overall, this past month has been the deadliest month for Baltimore in 15 years.

Things are even worse in the city of Chicago.  Over this past weekend, 55 people got shot…

Twelve people were killed and at least 43 — including a 4-year-old girl — were wounded in shootings across Chicago this Memorial Day weekend, police said.

The 4-year-old, identified by her family as Jacele Johnson, was shot about 8 p.m. Friday in the West Englewood neighborhood. She and her 17-year-old cousin Romare Wilson were inside an SUV in the 7000 block of South Justine when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, according to their family and Chicago Police.

Early in April, I went on the record and specifically named Chicago and Baltimore as two of the cities where we would be seeing civil unrest.  Since that time we have seen horrible rioting in Baltimore and the violence in Chicago continues to spiral out of control.war drums

Other experts are issuing similar warnings.  For example, consider what an assistant professor at New Jersey City University recently had to say

Urban unrest expert Dr. Max Herman says that the United States is on the “cusp” of a wave of domestic disorder and that the country will see more race riots.

Herman, Assistant Professor of Sociology at New Jersey City University, told the New Republic’s Joel Gillin that the economic downturn, in addition to incidents of police brutality, have provided fertile conditions for civil unrest.

He sees the re-emergence of a 60’s-style “protest ideology” amongst black communities which will lead to more disorder.

“It’s very clear from studying history that these things tend to run in cycles,” said Herman, adding, “I think we are at the cusp of another cycle.”

Author Chris Hedges is saying similar things.  The following comes from a recent article about him in the National Post

The United States is primed for a rebellion. So argues Chris Hedges in his new book, Wages of Rebellion, in which the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and polemicist examines revolts from 1700s to the ending of apartheid in South Africa, as well as the “sublime madness” that drives the people at the centre of such rebellions.

When asked by the National Post why he wrote his new book, this is what Hedges had to say

I didn’t write it as a warning or a prediction. I wrote it more as an assessment. I covered disintegrating societies like Yugoslavia. I know how they break down; I know what the warning signs are, so it’s familiar. I don’t think at this point there’s much dispute. Even just the financial indicators in terms of wealth disparity and chronic unemployment. The fact that Congress has a nine-per-cent approval rating. Where I’m coming from, the book is an attempt to explain where we are in this particular historical period.

But it isn’t just that we are entering a new cycle of unrest.  Our “leaders” have made things much worse by the decisions that they have made.  For instance, Barack Obama’s decision to leave our southern border virtually unguarded has resulted in a massive flood of illegal immigrants coming into this country.  As a result, violent gangs that have roots in Central America and South America have mushroomed in size.  So now major cities far from the border such as Charlotte, North Carolina are being absolutely terrorized by these gangs…

Recent busts of murderous MS-13 gangsters put the lie to President Obama’s sympathetic amnesty narrative of illegal immigrants as “workers who mow our lawns, make our beds (and) clean out bedpans.”

Authorities Wednesday rounded up 37 MS-13 gang members in Charlotte, N.C., on racketeering conspiracy charges, along with charges of murder, attempted murder and firearms violations. All of them are illegal aliens from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala. Several are round-trippers illegals who broke in once, committed crimes, got deported and broke back into the U.S. — proving that our border is porous and unsecured.

Charlotte police discovered the rat’s nest of foreign gangsters after some of them started shooting up local nightclubs and bars.Comming Soon 02

In 2015, it isn’t just our own citizens that we need to be concerned about.  At this point, many of our biggest cities are absolutely packed to the gills with gangs made up primarily of illegal immigrants. I discussed Chicago earlier.  Did you know that it is estimated that approximately 150,000 gang members now live there? When things start really breaking down in this country, those gangs are going to have a field day.

America is changing, and not for the better.  And when violence starts sweeping this nation, don’t count on the government to come in and rescue you.  After watching what happened in Ferguson and in Baltimore, you should know better than that by now. It is time for the American people to prepare their own homes and their own neighborhoods for the chaos and the violence that is coming. For the moment, things are still relatively stable so we have a little bit of time to prepare, but it won’t last for long.Desired Race Warfreedom combo 2

Seeking to Spark Sectarian War, ISIS Bombs Saudi Arabia

By Ryan Mauro, Mon, May 25, 2015

A family member of a slain victim mourns after arriving at the shiite Imam Ali mosque, the site of a suicide bomb attack, in the village of al-Qadeeh in the eastern province of Gatif, Saudi Arabia where an ISIS suicide bomber blew himself during Friday prayers. Twenty people were killed and more than 50 were wounded.
isis_flagThe Islamic State (ISIS) suicide bombing in Saudi Arabia on May 23 is significant in that it’s the group’s first claimed suicide bombing in the country, but it’s also a strategic move to spark sectarian upheaval in the Shiite-majority province that holds 90% of royal family’s oil reserves.

The Islamic State is trying to spark a cycle of sectarian violence that will destabilize Saudi Arabia and heighten the Royal Family’s tension with Iran. The terror group thrives in environments where Shiites(*) feel they need Iranian protection and where Sunnis(*) feel threatened by real or imagined Iranian influence. The Saudi Eastern Province has the added benefit of endangering the Royal Family’s most critical resource.

The bombing’s objective is to spur Islamic State supporters in Saudi Arabia into action against the Shiites and the royal family. An October 2014 poll found that 5% of the Saudi population of 29 million has a positive opinion of the Islamic State (2% very positive and 3% somewhat positive).

The Saudi population includes about 8.5 million foreign residents, and it is unclear if they are included in the poll. This means that the Islamic State has a pool of somewhere between 1 million and 1.45 million supporters in Saudi Arabia that could be inspired to act. The prospects for the Islamic State are much brighter if an atmosphere of sectarian warfare is instigated; a scenario that can be easily envisioned.

The sensitivity of the Saudi royal family to the bombing’s impact on sectarianism was evident in the immediate booking of the grand mufti on state television to condemn the attack on “sons of the homeland.” The language was deliberately chosen to assure the Shiite minority that the Saudi government cares about their well-being and to distance itself from any Salafists(*) who may cheer the bombing.

The New York Timesreported on how Saudis were declining to donate blood in the wake of the Islamic State bombing, deriding them as infidels and one saying that a Shiite “does not deserve even my spit.” Although there are Saudi Sunnis who stand up for Shiites — like one prominent human rights activist who is a leader in the Shammar tribe — their rarity is apparent in the very fact that their activism makes news headlines.

The Saudi government may deploy Salafist-dominated security forces to the Eastern Province to prevent attacks and to stop the Shiites from holding large demonstrations of grief that could easily turn political and demand better treatment.

The Eastern Province is known for its protests against the Saudi government and subsequent arrests of activists and clerics demanding an end to discrimination and democratic reform. The leader of the Municipal Council in Qatif, where the bombing took place, has already blamed the Saudi government for promoting anti-Shiite sentiment.

Through the bombing, the Islamic State has created a catch-22: Any move by the Saudi government to enhance security in the province risks inflaming the passions of the Shiites, resulting in clashes and oppression that further the cycle.

The popularity of Sunni terrorist groups known for oppressing Shiites is a strong indication of how quickly sectarian fervor could sweep across Saudi Arabia, particularly if there are mass Shiite protests and Iran rallies to their side.

The aforementioned poll found that 52% of Saudis support Hamas and 33% support the Muslim Brotherhood(*). A November 2014 poll by Zogby showed that Saudi Arabia is the only Middle Eastern besides Turkey where a majority (53%) feel that the Muslim Brotherhood played a positive role in Egypt and Tunisia.

A frightening 15% of Saudis most favor Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, Jabhat al-Nusra, among all the forces fighting the Syrian regime. About 9% support the Islamic Front, a Saudi-backed Salafist group and 3% preferred the Islamic State.

The Iranian regime and its radical Shiite proxies like Hezbollah and the Houthis are looking for an opportunity to strike back at the Saudis for their military intervention in Yemen and ongoing support for Syrian rebels. There is no better opportunity than upheaval in the Eastern Province, especially at this time when Iran’s economy is suffering from low oil prices.

The objective of the bombing in Qatif is to make Saudi Arabia an extension of the Shiite-Sunni battlefield seen in Iraq, Syria and Yemen. And the Islamic State isn’t crazy for thinking it could happen. Picture8

Wedding photos going viral are routine – thousands appear in an online search. But a viral prayer image? Not so much.WeddingPrayer-470x599

But that’s exactly what is happening with the image of U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Caleb Earwood, 21, holding the hand of Maggie, 22, then his fiancée but now his wife.

Photographer Dwayne Schmidt captured the moment when the two wanted to pray together before their ceremony, but didn’t want to be seeing each other before their vows.

It reveals her standing next to the corner of a building, her left hand reaching out to hold his hand. He is standing at the same corner, but facing away from her, and his right hand reaches behind him to touch hers.

He is praying. She holds her right hand to her face, touched by emotion.

Schmidt posted it on Facebook, where he said it was a unique moment.

“I have photographed a lot of weddings. This has to be one of the best things I have ever got to see, much less photograph.”

Commenters joined him.

“WOW! PRECIOUS. Always put God first!” wrote Shannon Conner.

“My eyes filled with tears!!!” said Marcela Pulido.

“We were about to take our first steps in life together, and we didn’t want to take a step without it being in God’s will. I prayed to God for my beautiful and intelligent wife that he blessed me with and the amazing family I was marrying into,” he said.

Maggie added, “When I first grabbed his hand, he was shaking really bad, so I knew he was really nervous. It relieved me to know the person I was getting ready to marry felt the same way about God.”

The report said the two grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, were friends in his school, and began dating several years ago.

We’re thankful that our picture is able to bless so many people and touch that many hearts,” Caleb told USA Today.

It already has circled the globe. The Daily Mail explained they “kept their eyes closed and turned away from one another as family members brought them together for a prayer on Saturday before their Memorial Day weekend wedding.”

Tens of thousands of Facebook users have “liked” the picture since it was posted.

Beautiful picture. It brought tears to my eyes,” said Rebecca Warren Helms. “The bride is showing some raw emotion and love. You captured how affected she was by his words.”

The wedding was at a pavilion at Camp Daniel Boone in Canton, North Carolina.

Red Sea: Archaeologists Discover Remains of Egyptian Army From the Biblical Exodus

waving flagposted by Eddie

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://worldtruth.tv/red-sea-archaeologists-discover-remains-of-egyptian-army-from-the-biblical-exodus/

Suez| Egypt’s Antiquities Ministry announced this morning that a team of underwater archaeologists had discovered that remains of a large Egyptian army from the 14th century BC, at the bottom of the Gulf of Suez, 1.5 kilometers offshore from the modern city of  Ras Gharib. The team was searching for the remains of ancient ships and artifacts related to Stone Age and Bronze Age trade in the Red Sea area, when they stumbled upon a gigantic mass of human bones darkened by age.

The scientists lead by Professor Abdel Muhammad Gader and associated with Cairo University’s Faculty of Archaeology, have already recovered a total of more than 400 different skeletons, as well as hundreds of weapons and pieces of armor, also the remains of two war chariots, scattered over an area of approximately 200 square meters. They estimate that more than 5000 other bodies could be dispersed over a wider area, suggesting that an army of large size who have perished on the site.

khopesh

This magnificient blade from an egyptian khopesh, was certainly the weapon of an important character. It was discovered near the remains of a richly decorated war chariot, suggesting it could have belonged to a prince or nobleman.

Many clues on the site have brought Professor Gader and his team to conclude that the bodies could be linked to the famous episode of the Exodus. First of all, the ancient soldiers seem to have died on dry ground, since no  traces of boats or ships have been found in the area. The positions of the bodies and the fact that they were stuck in a vast quantity of clay and rock, imply that they could have died in a mudslide or a tidal wave.

The shear number of bodies suggests that a large ancient army perished on the site and the dramatic way by which they were killed, both seem to corroborate the biblical version of the Red Sea Crossing, when the army of the Egyptian Pharaoh was destroyed by the returning waters that Moses had parted. This new find certainly proves that there was indeed an Egyptian army of large size that was destroyed by the waters of the Red Sea during the reign of King Akhenaten.

Moses (1)

For centuries, the famous biblical account of the “Red Sea Crossing” was dismissed by most scholars and historians as more symbolic than historical.

This astounding discovery brings undeniable scientific proof that one the most famous episodes of the Old Testament was indeed, based on an historical event. It brings a brand new perspective on a story that many historians have been considering for years as a work of fiction, and suggesting that other themes like the “Plagues of Egypt” could indeed have an historical base.

A lot more research and many more recovery operations are to be expected on the site over the next few years, as Professor Gader and his team have already announced their desire to retrieve the rest of the bodies and artifacts from was has turned out to be one of the richest archaeological underwater sites ever discovered.

US-China war ‘inevitable’ unless Washington drops demands over South China Sea

Warning from state-run China newspaper as Beijing reveals plans for development of disputed South China Sea islands

China’s armed forces are to extend their operations and its air force will become an offensive as well as defensive force for the first time, in a major shift in policy that will strengthen fears of accidental conflict. A policy document by the state council, or cabinet, said China faced a “grave and complex array of security threats”, justifying the change. The People’s Liberation Army, including its navy and air force, will be allowed to “project power” further beyond its borders at sea and more assertively in the air in order to safeguard its maritime possessions, the white paper stated.

Chinese dredging vessels in the waters around Mischief Reef

The navy will add “open seas protection” to a traditional remit of “offshore waters defence”, it said.

The posture risks escalating the tension over disputed islands in the South China Sea and elsewhere in the Pacific, where the United States is determined to protect the interests of allies like Taiwan and the Philippines.

Only last week, a US aircraft ignored repeated warnings from the Chinese military to fly a reconnaissance mission over the islands.

The on-going reclamation by China at Subi reef seen from Pagasa island

Global Times, a tabloid newspaper run by the Communist Party, said that China might have to “accept” there would be conflict with the United States. “If the United States’ bottom line is that China has to halt its activities, then a US-China war is inevitable in the South China Sea”, said the paper, which is often seen as a mouth-piece of hardline nationalists in the government in Beijing.

  • State media reported on Tuesday that Beijing had begun building two lighthouses on reefs in the Spratly Islands, a smattering of outcrops that are claimed by an array of countries including not only China but also Vietnam and the Philippines.
  • Last month, satellite imagery revealed the Chinese had almost completed an air strip on another reef – Fiery Cross – while they are turning another rock, Mischief Reef, into a full island through land reclamation.
  • The Global Times article described the construction of runways, harbour facilities and buildings on the disputed Spratly Islands as the nation’s “most important bottom line”.

Speaking at a press conference in Beijing, Yang Yujun, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry, dismissed international criticism of China’s policies in the South China Sea, claiming the work was the same as building roads and homes on mainland China and that it would benefit “the whole of international society”. “From the perspective of sovereignty, there is absolutely no difference”, he said, adding that “some external countries are also busy meddling in South China Sea affairs”.

Analysts say neither Washington nor Beijing appear to be in the mood to back down and that there is a serious risk of a minor incident in airspace around the islands escalating rapidly. “I think the concern has to be that China misjudges the situation”, said Robert Dujarric, director of the Institute of Contemporary Asian Studies at the Japan campus of Temple University.

“Neither party wants a war if it can be avoided, but there are red lines for both sides”, he said. “I worry whether Beijing considers the US to be a declining power and assumes that Washington will back down if it shoots down a US observation aircraft”.Picture7

Washington chose to “de-escalate” a major crisis that blew up after a Chinese fighter collided with a US Navy intelligence-gathering aircraft off Hainan Island in April 2001. However, Prof. Dujarric said there would be a different response if a similar incident were to occur in what Washington insists is international air space over the South China Sea.

Recent developments have provoked new concerns in the region, with Ma Ying-jeou, the president of Taiwan, calling for the different nations laying claim to the South China Sea to put their differences aside and carry out joint development of natural resources.

2 Of Hillary’s Libya Emails Are Missing

Reported by Photo of Chuck Ross Chuck Ross, Reporter, 05/26/2015

Sidney Blumenthal emailed Hillary Clinton at least two intelligence reports about Libya which were not included in the trove of 296 emails released by the State Department on Friday. Clinton has claimed that in December she turned over all official government emails she sent or received from her personal account while in office. In turn, the agency has claimed it turned all Clinton emails related to Libya or Benghazi over to the House Select Committee investigating the Benghazi attack.Clinton Democrat Party

But a screenshot of Blumenthal’s email inbox, which the Romanian hacker Guccifer published in March 2013, shows two reports about Libya emailed to Clinton which were not released in Friday’s batch. Blumenthal’s hacked inbox shows that he sent a Jan. 15, 2013, report under the subject line “H: Latest Libya intel; internal discussions” and another on Jan. 26 with the subject line “H: Libya security latest.” The State Department release — which was published on the agency’s Freedom of Information Act portal — does not include those two reports. It does, however, include some 20 other intelligence reports Blumenthal sent Clinton about Libya and Benghazi between March 2, 2011. and Dec. 18, 2012.

Screengrab of Sidney Blumenthal's email inbox

The discrepancy suggests that the system that Clinton and the State Department have in place to account for her emails failed in some regard. It also raises questions over whether other emails are unaccounted for. Clinton and her team made the unilateral determination about which emails counted as official government records. The State Department had no oversight in the process and likely will not in the future. Clinton’s attorney, David Kendall, denied the Benghazi Committee’s request to inspect a private server Clinton used to maintain the personal email account. Kendall told the committee that the server has been wiped clean.

Blumenthal, a former journalist turned Clinton crony, routinely sent Clinton reports based on intelligence gathered from his own sources. Clinton’s emails show she regularly forwarded the reports to aides to have them circulated to other State Department officials or to print them off for later reading. Blumenthal’s hacked inbox shows other intelligence reports sent to Clinton’s email account — HDR22@clintonemail.com — but it is unclear from their titles if they contain material related to Benghazi or Libya.

It also remains to be seen whether those other reports are included in the 55,000 pages of emails Clinton turned over to State. The agency will likely turn those emails over sometime later this year. The discrepancy has at least three possible explanations: Clinton purposely hid the two reports; she overlooked the emails and failed to turn them over; the State Department has the emails in the larger batch of records provided by Clinton but for some reason failed to turn the two in question over to the Benghazi Committee.

Clinton and her team reportedly used a four-step process to decide which emails to turn over to the State Department. The team searched all Clinton emails for the period between 2007 and 2013 to some 100 State Department and other federal officials. From there, the Clinton team reportedly searched for non-obvious and idiosyncratic terms. Finally, emails were searched for references to “Benghazi” and “Libya.”

Clinton has said she turned over about half of all emails from her personal account. She claimed the others were personal messages which she “chose not to keep.”In Review freedom combo 2

‘Most persecuted religious group’ is …

CrossesAmericans are well familiar, from events and court rulings over recent years, with the diatribes against Christians and Christianity – they are told they legally can’t refuse to promote “gay marriage,” for example. Also, Christian holiday events are forced to be “winter festivals,” Christian symbols are banned from many displays and any statement of biblical belief, such as support for biblical marriage, becomes the latest “phobia,” almost certainly “violating” someone’s rights. In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court now is considering whether to make that very belief a federal offense.

But now an international conference speaker has warned that Christians “are the most persecuted religious group on a global level, even in countries where they constitute a majority.”CP 01

A report from the European Center for Law and Justice documents comments and submissions from several experts at the recent conference held by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on “enhancing efforts to prevent and combat intolerance and discrimination against Christians, focusing on hate crimes, exclusion, marginalization and denial of rights” in Vienna.

The ECLJ report by Andreea Popescu explained the conference was assembled by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and heard submissions from governments, international organizations and representatives.

Among the speakers was Monseigneur Janusz Urbanczyk, a representative of the Holy See.

“He noted that ‘the lives of many people are being affected only because of their Christian faith, which actually can be found at the roots of the culture of tolerance and equality,’” the report said.

“He indicated that Christians and Christian communities are the most persecuted religious group on a global level, even in countries where they constitute a majority,” the report continued, “Offending, insulting and attacking Christians became almost legitimate and if Christians protest against these offenses, they are again accused of being opponents of free expression or of manifestation of rights of others.”Free Speech Definition

The report continued, “He expressed concerns about the limitation of the freedom of religion of Christians as ‘a sharp dividing line … between religious belief and religious practice, so that Christians are frequently reminded in public discourse or even in the courts, that they can believe whatever they like in private, and worship as they wish in their own churches, but they simply cannot act on those [beliefs] in public.”Picture6

WND reported less than a month earlier that that very strategy has appeared throughout the administration of President Barack Obama. For example, early in Obama’s tenure in the White House, Catholic Online and other media outlets reported what appeared to be a deliberate attack on the Constitution’s “freedom of religion” protections. The report noted a crucial change in Obama’s language between his June 2009 speech in Cairo, Egypt, where he spoke of a Muslim America and its “freedom of religion,” to the November 2009 memorial for the Fort Hood soldiers gunned down by a radical Muslim, where he termed it “freedom of worship.” From that point on, “freedom of worship” has become the term of choice, the report said.muslim-obama

Recently, the Daily Signal reported, the federal government has been using the term “freedom of worship” instead of the constitutional “freedom of religion” when it tests immigrants who wish to become citizens on their knowledge of the Constitution.

Congress even started paying attention. Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., charged during a hearing that included Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson that the government is “misrepresenting” the First Amendment, the Daily Signal reported.

“We in the United States actually have freedom of religion, not freedom of worship,” Lankford said.

See his comments:

“The questionnaire civics test has in it one of these things, ‘What are two rights of everyone living in the United States, and it listed out six different things: freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition the government, freedom of worship, the right to bear arms. I’d love to see ‘freedom of worship’ switched to ‘freedom of religion.’”

Sarah Torre of the Heritage Foundation said the difference is significant. In practice across America, the “freedom to worship” seldom has been challenged or even questioned. But “freedom of religion” is under direct fire.

See WND’s Big List of Christian Coercion about this very topic.

Just ask the New York landowners who were fined by the state for following their Christian faith regarding their sponsorship of same-sex ceremonies, or the Oregon bakery owners fined $135,000 for the same thing, or the Colorado baker who is fighting for his economic future against state officials suggesting that he go out of business because his faith forbids support same-sex marriage.BigListCoercion

Paul Marshall, Lela Gilbert and Nina Shea have collaborated to create “Persecuted: The Global Assault on Christians,” which confirms that groups like Pew Research, Newsweek and The Economist also identify Christians as “the world’s most widely persecuted religious group.”

Other cases

Then there was the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, established in 1869 to provide a place for Christian meetings and assemblies, which still operating as one of the more popular destinations for such events on the East Coast. It houses one of the world’s 20 largest pipe organs, and there are both traditional and contemporary worship programs all summer long that have featured speakers such as Billy Graham, Norman Vincent Peale, Robert Schuller, Billy Sunday, D. James Kennedy and Charles Stanley. But the location no longer is used for weddings, because a lesbian duo was denied permission to use it, and a state discrimination complaint was filed.

  • The Hitching Post Wedding Chapel is facing demands from the city of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, to perform same-sex “weddings” in violation of the owners’ Christian faith.
  • In Washington state, a state judge said the home, assets and savings of Arlene’s Flowers owner Barronelle Stutzman, 70, could be targeted in court by two homosexuals for whom she declined to provide “wedding” services.

Early in Obama’s administration, Catholic Online noted that Ashley Samelson of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty explained that to “anyone who closely follows prominent discussion of religious freedom in the diplomatic and political arena, this linguistic shift is troubling: The reason is simple. Any person of faith knows that religious exercise is about a lot more than freedom of worship.” … “It’s about the right to dress according to one’s religious dictates, to preach openly, to evangelize, to engage in the public square. Everyone knows that religious Jews keep kosher, religious Quakers don’t go to war, and religious Muslim women wear headscarves – yet ‘freedom of worship’ would protect none of these acts of faith.” Catholic Online said: “Let’s be clear … language matters when it comes to defining freedoms and limits. A shift from freedom of religion to freedom of worship moves the dialog from the world stage into the physical confines of a church, temple, synagogue or mosque. … It … could exclude our right to raise our children in our faith, the right to religious education, literature or media, the right to raise funds or organize charitable activities and the right to express religious beliefs in the normal discourse of life.”Picture4

From the Vatican

The Vatican, the report said, described it this way: “Religious freedom, in turn, which men demand as necessary to fulfill their duty to worship God, has to do with immunity from coercion in civil society.”

The Alliance Defending Freedom has cited the Obama administration’s use, since Cairo, of “freedom of worship” to undermine “freedom of religion,” as one of the “direct attacks on religious freedom” by Obama.Obama-muslim-2-610x400

The list points out that Obama appointed radical-homosexual activist Chai Feldblum to a federal office, and Feldblum is on record stating: “We should … not tolerate private beliefs about sexual orientation and gender. … Protecting one group’s identity may, at times, require that we burden others’ belief liberty … it is essential that we not privilege moral beliefs that are religiously based over other sincerely held, core, moral beliefs.”

The list also reveals the Obama administration “designated ‘religious public service’ as the only public service that will not be counted as payment toward student loans.”

And it specifically cited the shift from “freedom of religion” to “freedom of worship,” which “could limit religious freedoms outside the four walls of the church.”War on Christians

Jonathan Imbody wrote in 2013 at the Washington Times that the administration’s shift in language was major.

“Worship at its core is essentially a private and personal process, a communion between God and an individual. No government could restrict such worship, any more than it could monitor and censor every citizen’s thoughts and prayers. Even forbidding individuals to worship together in public, which coercive communist governments like China’s have done, cannot actually prevent individuals from worshiping God in private. So a law that merely protected the freedom to worship would hardly be worth heralding in a presidential proclamation.’

“The free exercise of religion under the American Constitution, by contrast, includes the freedom to openly express, follow and live out our faith – not just in private but also in the public square – without government coercion, censorship or any other form of restriction.’

“The concept of religious liberty held by the Constitution’s framers included not merely the freedom to worship, but also the free exercise of conscience – carrying out one’s moral beliefs with conviction and action.”

In Europe, the situation for Christians has deteriorated to the point that there has been established in France an “Observatory for Christianophobia.”

The ECLJ report said Massimo Introvigne, director of Italy’s Cesnur organization, explained how intolerance leads to discrimination, and that leads to hate crimes. It said the conference heard reports from “manifestations of intolerance and violence” involving Christian sacred sites, such as places of worship, shrines, cemeteries, monuments” and more.

Gudrun Kugler, of the Observatory on Intolerance against Christians in Europe, submitted recommendations to address five areas of concern.

Those includes:

  1. freedom of conscience rights in the medical and employment field;

  2. freedom of expression rights on ethical issues;

  3. freedom of assembly and association rights, including public funding, as demonstrators were not protected against counter-demonstrators and public funding was refused on the basis of incompatibility of the Christian ethics with the public institution ethics;

  4. parents’ rights, regarding compulsory sex education in public schools and prohibition of homeschooling; and

  5. private autonomy, including church autonomy and antidiscrimination legislation.burke

Among those suggestions: “To respect and tolerate Christianity, Christians and Christian positions in private and in public” and “Not to tolerate hate incidents against Christians, just as hate incidents against anyone else are not tolerated.”

She also recommended employers accommodate Christian beliefs and “opinion leaders” should “be aware of their responsibility in shaping a tolerant public discourse.” To do that, they should “refrain from negative stereotyping of Christianity.”

The ECLJ reported, “Father Vsevolod Chaplin, chairman of the Department for Church-Society Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, stated that Christians should enjoy the same rights to practice their faith and to participate in the public life of the society as any other person.”

Court Rules Pro-Life Views Are “Patently Offensive,” Bans Choose Life License Plates in New York

Tyranney AlertA federal appeals court has issued a ruling banning Choose Life license plates in New York state and claimed in its decision that pro-life views are “patently offensive.” The court issued ruling in The Children First Foundation v. Fiala,  which rejects a pro-adoption group’s application to sponsor a “Choose Life” specialty plate with the New York Department of Motor Vehicles. The appeals court ruling overturned a lower court decision upholding the right of drivers in New York to purchase the pro-life plates.Free Speech Definition

As the Daily Caller reports:

A new decision by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals holds that New York’s state government has the right to ban “Choose Life” license plates on the grounds that such a statement is “patently offensive.”

The dispute stems from a now-suspended program offered by New York’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) which allowed private organizations to create custom license plates. If drivers purchased the plates, the purchasing price was split between the DMV and the non-profit.

The Children First Foundation (CFF), an organization promoting adoption as an alternative to abortion, submitted a design for a “Choose Life” license plate, which featured a drawing of two children’s faces in front of a yellow sun.

The proposed plate was rejected, with the DMV citing a policy that allows it to ban “patently offensive” plates in order to prevent incidents of road rage. The “patently offensive” category in U.S. speech is typically related to public obscenity laws, and allows for limitations on things like the public display of pornography or other materials that blatantly violate community standards.War on Christians

Judge Rosemary Pooler, a Clinton appointee, agreed with New York’s position in her majority opinion. She took this view even though she also ruled that license plates are private speech subject to First Amendment protections. Despite these protections, however, she said that so many New Yorkers could find a plate advocating an anti-abortion position “patently offensive” that the DMV was justified in suppressing the speech.

In a strong dissent, Judge Debra Ann Livingston said the court was essentially granting the New York DMV the right to suppress any viewpoints it did not like.cropped-different-free-speech-ideologies.jpg

Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Legal Counsel Jeremy Tedesco decried the decision.

“Pro-adoption organizations should have the same speech rights as any other organization. While the district court affirmed this basic freedom, the circuit court denied free speech in favor of government censorship. The state doesn’t have the authority to target The Children First Foundation specialty plates for censorship based on its life-affirming viewpoint. The state has wrongly gotten away with speech discrimination against our client for more than 10 years. We will review our legal options.”

The battle to allow motorists to purchase Choose Life license plates has been going on in the Empire State for years.

Alliance Defense Fund attorneys filed the lawsuit on behalf of The Children First Foundation in 2004 against state officials who denied its attempt to allow motorists to purchase Choose Life license plates. The New York Department of Motor Vehicles rejected CFF’s design in August 2002 — considering it “too political and controversial” to approve. The organization redesigned the plate, adding the group’s web site to it to better explain its purpose, and the DMV rejected it again.

The state dismissed the attempt to create the plate and said it was rejected in order “to avoid any appearance of governmental support for either side in the divisive national abortion debate.”Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Saying its free speech rights were denied, Children First filed suit with assistance from Alliance Defense Fund attorneys and, in January 2005, a federal judge ruled it had sufficiently argued its First Amendment rights would be violated.

The Second Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed then-Attorney General Eliot Spitzer’s second attempt to ban the plates and allowed the lawsuit to move forward. The DMV eventually suspended review of specialty plates — a move that Elizabeth Rex, president of the Children First Foundation, says was done specifically to block the Choose Life plate.

CAIR Officials on Memorial Day: Do U.S. Troops Merit Honor?

against America

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group labeled by the Justice Department as a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity and unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism-financing trial, disingenuously claims that it is a moderate organization.

Yet, on May 23, Zahra Billoo, the radical executive-director of CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area chapter, tweeted that she “struggles with Memorial Day each year” about whether to honor American soldiers who died in wars:

She also quoted another CAIR official, Dawud Walid, the executive-director of CAIR’s Michigan chapter, as questioning whether they should honor American soldiers that died in “unjust” wars and occupations. That’s a direct insult to American soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan and those that have returned from Iraq, as CAIR officials consistently describe those wars with that terminology. Billoo quoted Walid as saying:

Billoo did, however, find one “soldier” she felt comfortably honoring. On May 26, she promoted an article from the anti-Semitic and anti-American Nation of Islam that asked for help for a “black liberation soldier” named Imam Jamil al-Amin:

Al-Amin was a member of the Black Panthers terrorist group and was convicted of murdering a police officer in 2000. He is also anti-American, stating “if America doesn’t come around, we’re gonna burn it down,” and “I say violence is necessary. It is as American as cherry pie.”

Al-Amin also said, “When we begin to look critically at the Constitution of the United States . . . we see that in its main essence it is diametrically opposed to what Allah has commanded.”

Al-Amin is considered to be a political prisoner by radical groups like the Nation of Islam, the Sankore Institute of Islamic African Studies International and now, at least one CAIR leader. The extremist cleric viewed America as intrinsically evil from its very foundation. Al-Amin’s theme is similar to other tweets written by Billoo and Walid over Memorial Day Weekend. On May 24, as Memorial Day Weekend was beginning, Walid shared his thoughts that America is a fundamentally racist country:

On May 4, Billoo re-tweeted two opinions that America is inherently murderous:

The tweets are offensive and disturbing, but they are not unprecedented. In March, the Clarion Project reported on how Billoo and Imraan Siddiqi, chairman of the board for CAIR’s Arizona chapter, were sending out tweets depicting the U.S. military as “occupiers” and “murderers.” The tweets outraged the American-Islamic Forum on Democracy (AIFD), a Muslim group opposed to Islamist extremism. Its leader, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, served in the U.S. Navy. “It is plain to see, however, that they [the CAIR officials] have nothing but disdain for our armed forces. We do hope that Muslim members of the U.S. military realize that CAIR sees you as ‘occupiers,’ not patriots protecting the freest nation on earth,” the AIFD said.

This is what some CAIR officials are saying publicly. If these are the views they feel comfortable expressing openly, then how extreme are the views expressed privately?

Update: 05/27/2014 – Zahra Billo has since deleted her tweet about struggling with Memorial Day. Screenshots of the original tweets are provided in this article.freedom combo 2

Chuck Norris Makes Stunning Accusation About How Obama Is ‘Ensuring A 2016 Win’ For Dems

According to Chuck Norris, Barack Obama is already stacking the deck in favor of Democrats ahead of the 2016 presidential election. In a recent editorial, Norris cited several ways by which plans to increase immigration and naturalization in coming months could create a virtually undefeatable voting bloc willing to support the Democrat candidate. “First,” he wrote, “the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, sent letters to all 9,000,000 green-card holders urging them to naturalize prior to the 2016 election.”Picture1Only Reason

Furthermore, Norris cited the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program established by Obama to allow certain immigrants a fast track toward U.S. citizenship.

Perhaps the most troubling way this administration is using immigration to score electoral victories, Norris asserts, is by admitting refugees from any number of unfriendly, predominantly Muslim nations. “Their strategy is to ‘seed your communities’ with at least 70,000 refugees a year,” he wrote, “including Iraqis, Burmese, Bhutanese, Somalis, Cubans, Syrians and others. And the numbers of Syrians, mostly Muslim, will surpass them all.”muslim-obama Islamapologist Obama Muslim collection

At least a few Americans are excited about this idea. As Western Journalism reported, the New York Times recently published an editorial in which the authors suggested Syrian refugees should be allowed to “settle Detroit” in an effort to restore the once-prosperous city.7 (2)

For Norris, however, it is obvious that Obama is showing favor toward certain oppressed groups while ignoring others. “What’s tragically unfortunate,” he continued, “is that Coptic Christians barely even get a mention by Obama’s administration and even less protection.”Christian Persecution

Teacher Tells Girl Bible Quotes Banned From School

Posted on May 22, 2015Tad Cronn

 Different Free Speech Ideologies

Freedom of expression. It’s not a difficult concept. Basically, every human being has the right to speak his mind without fear of government punishment or penalty. Accepted, reasonable restrictions on speech are generally very loose, like no yelling “fire” in a crowded auditorium and no speech that is genuinely disruptive like standing up and reciting the Communist Manifesto while the teacher is trying to conduct class.

Yet somehow, school officials across this land often seem to forget that the right to freedom of speech, particularly religious speech, does not end at the classroom door. The latest example comes from Somerset Academy near Las Vegas, Nevada, where sixth-grader Mackenzie Fraiser was given an “All About Me” report assignment that was supposed to include an inspirational quote. When Mackenzie wanted to use John 3:16, however, her teacher said that biblical quotations and quotes from the Book of Mormon were forbidden by the school.

The incident might not have even come to light except that some months later, the same teacher made an assignment about self-esteem, and Mackenzie’s parents suggested using a Bible quote, reasoning that the reason Mackenzie has strong self-esteem is that she is made in God’s image. At that point, the sixth-grader spilled the beans about her teacher’s prohibition of things scriptural.

Mackenzie’s father, Tim Fraizer, the pastor of Grace Point Church, fired off an email to his girl’s teacher, certain that there must have been a miscommunication. The reply he received, however, was an email from an assistant principal, Jenyan Martinez, confirming that Mackenzie recalled the incident correctly and that the teacher was, in fact, enforcing school policy. In her response, Martinez suggested that the reason for banning the biblical quote from the original assignment was because, as an oral report, the assignment would give Mackenzie a, quote-unquote, captive audience for her religious beliefs.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Liberty Institute attorney Jeremy Dys told The Blaze, “When students go to school they do not lose their First Amendment rights. It chilled her speech and, as such, what the school is teaching these kids right now is that it is wrong to reference their faith at school. If they don’t apologize for this mistake … then the lesson that these students will take away is that it is wrong to reference their faith in school.”first-amendment-flag

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the academy said in a statement that it values students’ rights and the incident was under review.

The Mackenzies are asking for the school to apologize and allow their daughter to submit her original assignment with the quote for a grade, which seems very reasonable. Had the situation been inverted, and an atheist student found herself banned by a Christian academy from using, say, a Richard Dawkins quote, the fireworks would be seen far and wide.Leftist determonation to destroy freedom of religion

So why is it considered acceptable by so many government officials to impose on Christians’ rights while asserting a position of de facto atheism? The right to freedom of speech should preclude any policy of selective “diversity.”cause of death freedom combo 2

LA Increases Minimum Wage, Employers Invest in Machines

Liberals have once again shown their startling ignorance regarding economics and how humans react to laws by altering how they spend money, whether for personal or business reasons. On Tuesday, by an almost unanimous vote, the Los Angeles City Council passed a law raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour.  Wages will begin rising this year to $9 per hour and reach $15 within five years.more evidence

Picture5

Employers response?  According to the Los Angeles County Business Federation, the number of employers that say they intend to invest in automation that eliminate jobs doubled this year, to 59 percent.

Similar laws have passed in other cities recently, such as Seattle, which has resulted in a record number of restaurant closings. Small business owners in LA are claiming that they too, will be forced to close or move.

Despite what should herald a tremendous hiring boom in Los Angeles County, the “Dead Hand of Government Impoverishes the Middle Class” through a combination of high taxes, restrictive regulations, excessive permitting–and minimum wage hikes.

Tracy Rafter, founding Chief Executive of the Federation, commented on this year’s results, “Hiring, which it’s a bit better, is not where things are growing–they’re growing in technology,” because, “People cost so much more than technology over time.”

From Breitbart:

L.A. businesses are especially frustrated with the bureaucratic nightmare they experience dealing with of local, county and state building and safety planning departments. The BizFed poll found that the burden of securing operating permits was the most frustrating issue for local businesses, other than taxes and compliance fees.

For companies that do expand, they “must navigate what’s been called a spaghetti bowl of permit requirements”, according to the Times. Rafter worries that technological advancements have made it easier for frustrated local companies to just go “mobile” and conduct the bulk of their business elsewhere.

We see the same story unfolding across the nation in cities and states with unfriendly business environments; high unemployment rates, high taxes, and onerous regulations which prove to be a drag on the economy.  Almost always Democrat majority run, their typical “solution” is to throw more gasoline on the fire.Picture6

Cleveland police officer Michael Brelo not guilty

waving flagBy Ida Lieszkovszky, Northeast Ohio Media Group  Ida Lieszkovszky, Northeast Ohio Media Group The Plain Dealer, on May 23, 2015

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/index.ssf/2015/05/brelo_verdict.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A judge ruled Saturday morning that Cleveland police officer Michael Brelo is not guilty of two charges of voluntary manslaughter in connection with the Nov. 29, 2012 police chase and shooting that ended in the deaths of two people. Cuyahoga Common Pleas Judge John P. O’Donnell said that while Brelo did fire lethal shots at Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams, other officers did as well. O’Donnell also concluded that Brelo was not guilty of the lesser included offense of felonious assault because he was legally justified in his use of deadly force.

Brelo, 31, was one of more than 100 police officers to participate in a 22-minute police chase, and one of 13 who shot at a 1979 Chevy Malibu. The shooting ended in the deaths of the driver, Russell and the passenger, Williams.

Prosecutors argued throughout Brelo’s month-long trial that when other officers stopped firing, Brelo jumped onto the Malibu’s hood and shot straight down at Russell and Williams. Those actions, they argued, were unreasonable and went well past his duties as a police officer. But defense attorneys said Brelo had reason to fear for his life, and was justified in his use of deadly force because he and other officers believed that Russell and Williams had a gun and had fired shots. They also argued that if the 12 other police officers who fired shots were justified in their use of force, so was Brelo.

Five police supervisors who were either directly involved in the chase or supervised it to some extent have been charged with dereliction of duty. A date for that trial has not been set yet.

RUSH: We’re gonna start in West Palm Beach in Florida.  This is Joel.  I’m glad you called, sir.  Great to have you with us.  Hello.

CALLER:  Hey, Rush, I grew up listening to you with my dad.  I really appreciate you taking my call.  Great honor.

RUSH:  Why thank you, sir, very much.

CALLER:  So anyways, I read a quote earlier from Elizabeth Warren about this transpacific pact, and she was making fun of the Obama administration for saying if we knew what was in it we wouldn’t want to pass it. And she said that is not how a democracy works.  I think that sounds pretty similar to how they did Obamacare, doesn’t it?

RUSH:  Yeah, it is.  That’s a good catch on your part, Joel.  I can tell that you are a lifetime, lifelong listener.  Great, great catch.

CALLER:  Thank you, sir.  Thank you for taking the time today.

RUSH:  Well, you should feel very proud, you should feel very proud.  Elizabeth Warren did say something along the lines of “we’re gonna have to pass it to find out what’s in it.”  Which is exactly what Pelosi said about Obamacare, we gotta pass it to know what’s in it.  Now, the interesting thing about this Obama trade is the Democrats hate it.  The Democrats hate it because they think that it does great damage to unions, is the primary reason they hate it.

They also hate it because the Republicans are providing the necessary push to get it passed, which kind of bothers me.  Since it’s an Obama deal, the odds are it isn’t good.  Since it’s an Obama deal, the odds are the United States is gonna take it in the shorts, as we have on so much of the Obama agenda, both domestic and foreign policy.  One of the things, and there are many — and by the way, it hasn’t changed.  They would not allow any of this deal to be paid made public.  Members of Congress, House and Senate, had to go to a private room to read it.  They weren’t allowed to take any notes.  Well, they could take notes.  They couldn’t leave with their notes.  They weren’t allowed to tell anybody what they read. Party of Deciet and lies

Jeff Sessions had a massive op-ed piece and floor speech in the Senate about this.  It’s a disaster, just on that basis alone.  It’s not how things happen in this country.  Cybercast News Service just posted a story that the trade deal, the Obama Pacific partner trade deal, whatever it’s called, will eliminate trade barriers with North Vietnam — well, Vietnam.  Vietnam is a communist Regime.  It’s running a $24.9 billion trade deficit with the US, and the transpacific partnership that Obama is negotiating with 11 other nations seeks to eliminate both tariff and nontariff trade barriers with these countries.

I’ll tell you, to understand this stuff, Obama said something when he normalized or began the process of normalizing relations with Cuba.  He said something to the effect that, if we’ve been doing things a certain way for 50 years and they’re not working, why, it’s time for a change.  Of course, that doesn’t apply to our own welfare state and failed Democrat policy after failed Democrat policy, but it is applicable when dealing with Iran, the Middle East, Israel and Palestine, and now dealing with foreign regimes who owe us money.  We’re just gonna wipe it out.  We’re gonna eliminate their debt all because the only reason they have the debt is because we’re such a mean superpower, and it’s up to us to make it up to them for being the way we have been.

RUSH:  There’s another reason the left, the Democrats, don’t like it.  They think that the Obama trade deal empowers evil corporations to sue things like the United Nations over EPA regulations and so.  They really hate it for that reason.

New Issue of ISIS Magazine: We Can Buy a Nuclear Weapon from Pakistan

 by Mary Chastain22 May 2015

“Let me throw a hypothetical operation onto the table,” Cantlie allegedly writes. “The Islamic State has billions of dollars in the bank, so they call on their wilāyah in Pakistan to purchase a nuclear device through weapons dealers with links to corrupt officials in the region. It’s the sum of all fears for Western intelligence agencies and it’s infinitely more possible today than it was just one year ago.’

“And if not a nuke, what about a few thousand tons of ammonium nitrate explosive? That’s easy enough to make.”Picture4

Obama Muslim collection

Analysts believe the black-market sales of artifacts and antiques have generated billions for the Islamic State. The militants have destroyed dozens of ancient shrines, churches, and museums, claiming that they promote idolatry. But people within cities tell media outlets these same militants ransack the places of their priceless items to sell on the black market. The terrorist group also forces people within their caliphate to pay enormous fines and taxes. When they captured Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city, they told the Christians to leave, convert to Islam, or pay a protection tax (jizya).

“They’ll [Isis] be looking to do something big, something that would make any past operation look like a squirrel shoot, and the more groups that pledge allegiance the more possible it becomes to pull off something truly epic,” continued the article. “Remember, all of this has happened in less than a year. How more dangerous will be the lines of communication and supply a year on from today?”Wake up America

There is no way to confirm that Cantlie wrote the text of the article. ISIS kidnapped the British photojournalist two years ago. He has appeared in many propaganda videos, mainly those intended to show Muslims in the West that life in the Islamic State is normal, if not better, than life for Muslims in the West. The latest video was about Aleppo, Syria, to portray the city “as functional and productive.” However, Cantlie said this video was the last in his series. The militant group did not comment on the video or release any information as to whether Cantlie is still alive.freedom combo 2

While Hillary Slept

Only the most conspiratorial among us suspected that the State Department’s decision to release a tranche of Hillary Clinton’s private emails on the Friday before a long holiday weekend just might be an effort to bury the revelations. Well, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.

The journalists who combed through the emails learned, among other things, that State officials spent quite a bit of their time investigating leads sent to Clinton via her longtime associate Sidney Blumenthal. Though Barack Obama’s White House blocked Clinton’s request to add Blumenthal to her staff at State as a speechwriter, it seems that the Clinton confidant served as a key outside advisor to the former secretary of state.

But some of the most compelling details in those emails regarding Clinton’s conduct were in regards to the deadly 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi. The emails reveal that the White House regarded Clinton as the “public face of the U.S. effort in Libya” in 2012. “She was instrumental in security the authorization, building the coalition, and tightening the noose around Qadhafi and his regime.” The White House noted that Clinton had been a “critical voice on Libya,” working closely with the president, NATO, and a number of contact groups both during the coalition intervention and in its aftermath. And when officials received a presidential briefing three days after the September 11, 2012 attack that took the life of a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans, Hillary Clinton was asleep.pretenders

“I just woke up,” Clinton wrote in an email sent at 10:43 a.m. ET on the morning of Saturday September 15, 2012. Surely, those Republicans tasked with crafting political advertisements in 2016 will not fail to contrast this revelation with Clinton’s famous 2008 spot in which she suggested that she would be a better candidate to take the crisis call that comes in at 3 a.m. When the crisis arrived, Hillary was literally napping.O-for-H-NRD-600

When Clinton’s first private email account was exposed earlier this year, she belatedly took to a podium at the United Nations to control the spiraling damage that the scandalous revelation was doing to her political prospects. Clinton was asked if she was ever “specifically briefed on the security implications” of using a private email to conduct State affairs. To this inquiry, Clinton launched into a response that centered on the fact that she had never sent classified information over the one “homebrew” server of which the public was aware.

“I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email,” Clinton insisted. “There is no classified material. So I’m certainly well-aware of the classification requirements and did not send classified material.”  Once again, America, whether Clinton engaged in any impropriety depends on what the definition of “is” is.Hillary Song

No one asked Clinton about classified information, per se. And it was revealed this week that Clinton had, in fact, received sensitive/unclassified materials via her email account. One of the emails released by the State Department on Friday indicated that the former secretary of state had receive electronic correspondences that included a classified document, but that document was only officially awarded classified status on the same day those emails were released – more than 32 months after the Benghazi attack. Curious.

As The Washington Free Beacon’s Lachlan Markay observed, Clinton wrote in her 2014 autobiography Hard Choices that her first thoughts after she learned of the attack were with the late U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. In an interview with Wall Street Journal reporter Monica Langley, an exchange apparently so fawning that Clinton’s aides exchanged a series of emails mocking the reporter’s obsequiousness and repeated invasions of Clinton’s personal space, the secretary made it clear how hard she had taken his loss.

“I sent Chris Stevens to Benghazi at the height of the Libyan conflict [during the Arab Spring],” Clinton told Langley. “He was eager to go and was very effective. I recommended him as ambassador.” Except that Clinton was apparently not even fully aware of Stevens’ name. In an email sent to her confidants at state on the evening of the attack, Clinton referred to him as Chris Smith, noted that she had received informal confirmation of his death, and asked when that news should be disclosed.Clinton Democrat Party

Finally, Clinton seemed to be acutely aware of the political damage that might have been done by the administration’s ill-considered efforts to blame the attacks on a spontaneous demonstration related to a YouTube video. In a September 30 email to her aides at State, Clinton asked if she had ever described the conditions prior to the assault on the Benghazi outpost as a “spontaneous” demonstration. Her aides relieved her of any stress when they noted that she had been appropriately cautious with her words.

Indeed, even Reuters noted that the frequency with which Clinton and her cadre of aides prioritized protecting Clinton’s image in the wake of the deadly attack was conspicuous. “The emails from Clinton’s personal email account made public by the State Department do not appear to contain any revelations that could badly damage her bid for the presidency in 2016 or provide fodder for Republicans who accuse her of being negligent before the Benghazi attacks,” the Reuters dispatch read. “But they offer a glimpse into how Clinton’s team was concerned about her image immediately afterward.”

There is nothing like a little beauty rest to help image maintenance. These emails are only a fraction of those released to the State Department for review, and those are just the emails that Clinton’s team did not summarily delete. Surely, these are not the only embarrassing revelations about Clinton’s behavior at State that will be disclosed in coming days.freedom combo 2

BREAKING: Senate Approves Fast-Track Trade Authority Bill

waving flagby Rich Tucker22 May 2015

  • Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), (Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score14% Voting Record; F
  • Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) (Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score100%, Voting Record; A
  • Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score93% Voting Record; A
  • Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score80% Voting Record; B
  • Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score66% Voting Record; D

Before the bill passed, lawmakers voted down several amendments, including one proposed by Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score56% Voting Record; F, that aimed to prevent currency manipulation by trade partners. Obama had vowed to veto the bill if that amendment was included.

The legislation will now move to the House, where a close vote is expected. Many conservatives oppose the measure. But for his part, House Speaker, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), Conservative Review (conservativereview.com) Liberty Score40% Voting Record; F, vows to do what he can to pass it. In a news release, he wrote:

With trade promotion authority, we’ll be able to hold President Obama accountable so America’s workers can get the best agreements.  Without it, our workers will fall further behind as China writes the rules of the global economy.  This is a no-brainer.

The House will take up this measure, and Republicans will do our part, but ultimately success will require Democrats putting politics aside and doing what’s best for the country. Let’s seize this opportunity to open new doors for the things Americans make and the people who make them.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Reality 2

If it passes both Houses, TPA would give President Obama, and the next president, fast-track trade authority for the next six years. This means that Congress would only get an up-or-down vote on trade negotiations made by the president and wouldn’t be permitted to make any amendments or modifications.Picture1

Matt Drudge Unleashes Against GOP in Rare Twitter Tirade: ‘It’s the Night of the Republican Suicide’

Internet-media mogul Matt Drudge heavily skewered Republican leadership on Twitter Friday night, after the GOP-led Senate approved enhanced trade negotiating authority for President Barack Obama. “Twisted DC: Electing Republicans is guarantee of MORE powers for Obama… of course none of them read ‘secret’ bill!” Drudge tweeted.

The Drudge Report founder then set his sights on Speaker of the House John Boehner who expressed support for the trade bill after the Senate’s passage. Calling it “the Night of the Republican Suicide,” Drudge said if the GOP loses in 2016 it can be “traced to tonight’s trade deception.”

The Senate voted 62-37 Friday to endorse Obama’s request for “fast track” negotiating authority. It would let him present trade agreements that Congress can ratify or reject, but not change. Obama says fast track would improve chances for a long-negotiated trade deal with 11 other Pacific Rim nations. Labor unions and many liberals oppose the bill. They say free-trade deals send U.S. jobs overseas.

Monitor: ISIS Controls More than Half of Syria

Heavy clashes between the two sides resulted in the death of at least 100 Assad regime fighters, said the Observatory, which monitors the Syrian war through a network of sources on the ground.

In a rare public appearance on May 6, Assad admitted for the first time that his regime had suffered a spate of military defeats at the hands of Syrian rebels including ISIS.

U.S. Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, acknowledged on May 7 that Syrian rebel factions had made recent gains against Assad and suggested that the dictator should consider negotiating peace. “The capture of Palmyra is the first time ISIS has taken control of a city directly from the Syrian army and allied forces, which have already lost ground in the northwest and south to other insurgent groups in recent weeks,” notes Al Arabiya News.

Gen. Jack Keane, former Vice Chief of Staff for the Army, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that the U.S. was losing the war against ISIS, prompting criticism towards President Obama’s anti-ISIS strategy. Keane himself said Obama’s efforts to fight ISIS are “fundamentally flawed.”

Palmyra is home to a UNESCO World Heritage site that includes colonnaded streets, temples, and a theatre that have stood for nearly 2,000 years. The ancient sites are at risk of being looted and destroyed if they have not been already.

On Thursday, the White House press secretary described ISIS’s seizure of Palmyra as a “setback” for the U.S.-led campaign against ISIS. He added that President Obama disagrees with Republicans urging the deployment of U.S. ground troops to combat ISIS.muslim-obama

The global community must respond to ISIS, said French President Francois Hollande on Thursday. “We have to act because there is a threat against these monuments which are part of humankind’s inheritance and at the same time we must act against Daesh,” declared Hollande, referring to ISIS by its Arabic name.

The Iraqi city of Ramadi, the capital of the country’s largest province Anbar, has also fallen to ISIS.

Energy industry: Thank fracking for Memorial Day driving on the cheap

waving flagBy John Siciliano | May 21, 2015

PumpingGas052115

The oil industry is touting shale oil and fracking for making Memorial Day driving more affordable this weekend.

“Thanks to hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling, the U.S. is experiencing a renaissance in domestic oil and natural gas production. The benefits for U.S. consumers — as well as manufacturers, the travel and tourism industry and frankly our entire economy — are hard to overstate,” John Felmy, chief economist with the American Petroleum Institute, said in a conference call with reporters.

Hydraulic fracturing is the process by which water and sand are injected deep underground to release oil and gas from large shale rock formations. The advent of new drilling technologies that enable oil producers to drill horizontally through the formations has made the process more affordable, leading to an energy renaissance in the country and the United States becoming a global leader in oil production.

The increased production has caused the U.S. to import less from Saudi Arabia and other members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. That has led to more supply being available on the global market, deflating the price per barrel of oil, which in turn has lowered gasoline prices for consumers.

Felmy said the national average price of gasoline is about $1 per gallon less than it was at this time last year, based on data from AAA. The association also said more drivers will be on the road over the weekend in the Mid-Atlantic region compared with last year, with some states projected to experience the highest number of travelers on the road in a decade.

Oil shale production has provided “welcome relief at the pump,” he said. Without the added supply, some have suggested price per barrel could have climbed as high as $150 per barrel. Today’s prices are between $59 and $66 per barrel, compared to nearly $100 a year ago.

Felmy said the advent of shale production should keep the “new equilibrium below the 100 dollar mark.” He said the government should not take low prices “for granted.” Instead, the more affordable gasoline prices should spur policymakers to keep regulations predictable for oil producers and avoid punitive tax regimes.

“In order to maintain a robust supply of domestic oil, it is essential that the industry be allowed to affordably and predictably explore for and develop new resources,” Felmy said.

“That means companies must be able to lease acreage and obtain permits in a timely fashion. It also means the federal and state governments should avoid punitive tax regimes that would cause energy companies to look elsewhere for the best opportunities,” he said.

“With the right policies, our energy renaissance can endure for decades and help even more families afford to take a vacation on Memorial Day weekend,” he said.Gas Prices the day Obama took office

The Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management is on track to implement new regulations for fracking that the industry is warning could increase the cost of production. Several states and industry are suing the agency over the rules that are set to go into effect next month.freedom combo 2

Josh Duggar in child-molestation scandal

My two cents

I don’t understand why this is a news story published by WND.com. I do not know why this ever came up, or why Josh Duggar has become a target of the Leftist thugs. No matter. If in fact he has been a thorn in the sides of the Leftist thugs, then this is strictly motivated by the Leftist hatred of Christians, and Christian organizations, because as we all know for certain, none of them have the innocence to cast the first stone.

Josh Duggar, the 27-year-old eldest son of “19 Kids and Counting” stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has responded to reports he was once accused of molesting five underage girls while he was a teenager.

“Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends,” Duggar said in an exclusive statement to People. “I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

Duggar has resigned from his position as the director of the lobbying arm of the Family Research Council in Washington D.C., as a result of the accusations becoming public, reports People.

“Today Josh Duggar made the decision to resign his position as a result of previously unknown information becoming public concerning events that occurred during his teenage years. Josh believes that the situation will make it difficult for him to be effective in his current work. We believe this is the best decision for Josh and his family at this time. We will be praying for everyone involved,” Family Research Council President Tony Perkins said in a statement.

Joshduggar

“I would do anything to go back to those teen years and take different actions,” said Duggar. “I sought forgiveness from those I had wronged and asked Christ to forgive me and come into my life. In my life today, I am so very thankful for God’s grace, mercy and redemption.”

Duggar’s parents issued a statement of support:

“Back 12 years ago our family went through one of the most difficult times of our lives,” Jim Bob, 49, and Michelle, 48, said in a joint statement. “When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes, and we were shocked. We had tried to teach him right from wrong. That dark and difficult time caused us to seek God like never before.”

Their statement continues, “Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to God. We pray that as people watch our lives they see that we are not a perfect family. We have challenges and struggles every day. It is one of the reasons we treasure our faith so much because God’s kindness and goodness and forgiveness are extended to us – even though we are so undeserving. We hope somehow the story of our journey – the good times and the difficult times – cause you to see the kindness of God and learn that He can bring you through anything.”

Jim Bob Duggar informed the elders of his church about Josh’s actions and they waited a year before contacting authorities.

The information is contained in a Springdale, Ark., police report obtained by In Touch magazine through a Freedom of Information Act request.

The report stated the elder Duggar told police he was alerted in March 2002 by a female minor that Josh — who turned 14-years-old that month — had been touching her breasts and genitals while she slept. This allegedly happened on multiple occasions. In 2006, Jim Bob told police that in July 2002, Josh admitted to fondling a minor’s breasts while she slept. Duggar was investigated for multiple sex offenses — including forcible fondling — against five minors. The police report alleged Duggar had assaulted four of his sisters and a fifth underage female three to four years earlier. Some of the alleged offenses investigated were felonies, according to In Touch.

According to the 2006 police report, the investigation began when the Duggars traveled to Chicago’s Harpo Studios to appear on “Oprah.” An email from a 61-year-old in Rogers, Arkansas, to the studio on Dec. 7, 2006, alleged that a member of the family had molested his sisters while they were sleeping. “I think that you should know the truth before they make a complete fool of you and your show,” the person wrote.

Duggar, his parents and the victims were interviewed by police five days later in Arkansas.

Duggar’s wife Anna said he confessed his “teenage mistakes” two years before proposing marriage and that counseling her husband received “changed his life.”

“I was surprised at his openness and humility and at the same time didn’t know why he was sharing it. For Josh, he wanted not just me but my parents to know who he really was – even very difficult past mistakes.”
