A growing number of Chinese migrants are journeying through a dangerous mountain jungle in Necoclí, Colombia, an area that has become a “breeding ground” for illegal migration, drug trafficking, rapes and robberies to get to the United States, according to a recent report. Chinese migrants now comprise the fourth-largest people group making the trek through 66 miles of the Darién Gap, a region between the borders of Colombia and Panama, to reach the U.S.-Mexico border. Unlike the incalculable number of migrants from countries like Haiti, Venezuela, Cuba, Indonesia and elsewhere, the Chinese migrants have money, a lot of money, and stay in luxury hotels.
“That’s one of the big changes that we’re seeing now,” said Newsmax war correspondent Chuck Holton in an interview with Greta Van Susteren during her recent trip to Panama to investigate the U.S. border crisis and surge in illegal immigration.
“There are a tremendous number of Chinese coming through that we haven’t seen until recently,” Holton said. “They’re now the fourth-largest group of people coming through the Darién Gap. That’s very strange because the majority of the people you see here are destitute. … The people coming from China pay up to $30,000 a person for the same crossing. They have tons of money, and they’re staying in luxury hotels and they have iPhones.
“Some of them tell me that it’s because of the extreme COVID measures in China. They just can’t take being welded inside their house anymore,” he added. “But talking to some of the merchants here … they have told me that many of the Chinese were prisoners” sent away with money.
According to Holton, in Panama, many of the Chinese are indentured servants who get their money from the Chinese mafia. Once they reach Panama or wherever else the mafia wants them to go, they work for the rest of their life to pay off their debts. “So, it looks like they have a lot of money, but in reality, that money is debt that they have taken on to get here,” he added.
In April, the Biden administration, alongside government officials representing Panama and Colombia, announced a campaign to end the illegal movement of goods and people through the Darién Gap and into the United States. U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas, Panamanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Janaina Tewaney and Colombian Minister of Foreign Affairs Álvaro Leyva Durán led the delegation in Panama City.
Holden elaborated on the government officials’ plans to close for 60 days the part of the Darién Gap migrants have been trekking through. The war correspondent noted that the area is a jungle, and many migrants can work around this plan by journeying through a different part of it.
While some migrants opt to stay in Ecuador, Holden said the reason most migrants are choosing to cross the border now is because they’ve heard from people they know who live in the U.S. that entering the country and finding a job will be easy. The correspondent also speculated that with Title 42 set to expire on May 11, that is another reason why many migrants are heading to the U.S. border.
In October, the Biden administration used Title 42 to remove most Venezuelan asylum seekers from the U.S. While the Department of Homeland Security policy gave some Venezuelans a pathway to stay in the U.S., others were ordered to remain in Mexico until their asylum claims were heard.
According to Voice of America, there were nearly 90,000 illegal crossings through the Darién Gap in the first three months of 2023. Holden, who started reporting on the issue in 2012, noted that at the time, 45,000 people attempted to use the route. Last year, however, that number reached nearly 250,000.
One group that takes advantage of the flow of migrants, Holden added, is drug traffickers. These traffickers disguise themselves as migrants seeking asylum and carry backpacks full of cocaine. In October, the Panamanian news outlet Nex Noticias reported that authorities had arrested over a dozen people in Darién for their involvement in drug trafficking.
“I think it’s very instructive to Americans to understand what a gap there is in our thinking, in our way of life and what our expectations are from life and what theirs are,” he said. “Because so many people you talk to here, you ask them about facing the dangers of the Darién Gap, and they say it can’t be any harder than where I just came from. It can’t be any harder than living in Haiti or living in Venezuela or Cuba. And they are inured to that kind of hardship.”
According to VOA, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol reported that 4,366 migrants from China encountered border agents from October 2022 to February 2023 after illegally crossing the southern border.
President Biden has finally found a solution to address the surge in illegal crossings at the southern border: tell the tens of thousands of aliens unlawfully entering the United States from Mexico that they can come to America “legally” if they instead fly to a port-of-entry in the interior of the country.
Seriously, for all the Biden administration’s spin, that’s his plan — and it is illegal.
Of course, when Biden announced his administration’s newest policy on Thursday in advance of his midterm inaugural trip to the southern border on Sunday, the press release heralded the plan as a “new border enforcement action.” But as National Review’s Andrew McCarthy exposed in his weekend column, it’s a scam.
The scam, though, is layers thick, both legally and politically. And to reach the core truth — that Biden refuses to faithfully execute his duties as the president of the United States by defending our sovereign border — one must first unpeel the specifics of the newest plan buried in the Department of Homeland Security’s official notice of the changes, while also analyzing the relevant immigration law.
The Plan
Today’s edition of the Federal Register, which serves as “the Daily Journal of the United States Government,” contains the details of DHS’s supposed “new border enforcement action,” in four separate “notices,” titled respectively: “Implementation of a Parole Process for Cubans,” “Implementation of a Parole Process for Haitians,” “Implementation of a Parole Process for Nicaraguans,” and “Implementation of Changes to the Parole Process for Venezuelans.”
Each notice summarizes the Biden administration’s supposed “solution” to the flooding of the southern border, which in short consists of allowing, on a monthly basis, a total of 30,000 aliens to enter the United States “legally” if they are Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, or Venezuelan nationals. To qualify, aliens must have a “U.S.-based supporter,” which could be “non-governmental entities or community-based organizations,” and must “provide for their own commercial travel to an air [port-of-entry] and final U.S. destination.” National security and public safety vetting are also required, as well as any additional public health requirements, such as vaccinations.
But how is it that illegal-alien border crossers can become lawful noncitizens by just jumping through a few hoops and flying to the interior of the country, rather than sneaking over the southern border? They can’t. And in crafting its latest immigration plan, the Biden administration is again acting lawlessly.
Biden’s Lawlessness
The Biden administration maintains it has the authority to allow aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter the United States legally under section 212(d)(5)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, or INA. That section provides the secretary of homeland security the authority to “parole” noncitizens “into the United States temporarily under such reasonable conditions as [the secretary] may prescribe only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
“parole” for purposes of the INA is a “legal fiction” in which “a paroled alien is physically allowed to enter the country,” but the alien maintains the same legal status as if he or she were held at the border waiting for an application for admission to be granted or denied. But besides obtaining the legal right to be present in the United States, an alien paroled into the United States may obtain employment authorization to work here lawfully.
As the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals recently explained, “Parole began as an administrative invention that allowed aliens in certain circumstances to remain on U.S. soil without formal admission, with Congress codifying the practice when it initially enacted the Immigration and Nationality Act (the ‘INA’) in 1952.” At that time, Congress gave the attorney general “discretion to parole into the United States temporarily under such conditions as he may prescribe … any alien applying for admission to the United States.”
However, “throughout the mid-twentieth century, the executive branch on multiple occasions purported to use the parole power to bring in large groups of immigrants,” prompting Congress twice to amend the INA “to limit the scope of the parole power and prevent the executive branch from using it as a programmatic policy tool.” First, as the Fifth Circuit explained, in 1980, Congress added a requirement that the executive branch only parole refugees where “compelling reasons in the public interest with respect to that particular alien,” exist. Then, in 1996, Congress amended the INA to provide “parole may be granted ‘only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.’”
While the DHS’s just-announced parole plans claim the department is making parole decisions on a case-by-case basis, the qualifications set forth by the DHS establish that the Biden administration is illegally using parole power “as a programmatic policy tool,” rather than as designed by Congress, for example, by “paroling aliens who do not qualify for an admission category but have an urgent need for medical care in the United States and paroling aliens who qualify for a visa but are waiting for it to become available.”
The Biden administration’s lawless use of its parole power should come as no surprise, though, as since November of 2021, the president’s team has relied on Section 212(d)(5)(A) to release “family units” at the border to supposedly deal with “capacity constraints.” Florida has challenged the Biden administration’s granting of such carte blanche parole, as well as the president’s failure to detain illegal aliens as mandated under the INA, and trial is set to begin on both those claims later today in a federal court in Florida.
The ‘Standing’ Problem
A similar legal challenge to the Biden administration’s recent parole plan seems likely, although by requiring applicants to secure a vetted “supporter” who will commit to providing for the parolees’ financial needs while they are present in the United States, it will be challenging for anyone to show “standing” to challenge DHS’s plan.
For instance, in the Florida case, while the Biden administration argued the state lacked “standing,” or the right to sue, the court rejected that argument, reasoning Florida “plausibly alleged that the challenged policies already have and will continue to cost it millions of dollars, including the cost of incarcerating criminal aliens and the cost of providing a variety of public benefits, including unemployment benefits, free public education, and emergency services to aliens who settle in Florida after being ‘paroled’ into the country.”
But other than providing “free public education,” the same types of monetary harms are lacking in the case of the Biden administration’s latest parole proposal. And it is questionable whether a court will find that providing free public education to children paroled under DHS’s plans will be enough to establish standing.
Absent a plaintiff with standing to challenge DHS’s plan to parole some 30,000 aliens into the United States every month, the only way to fight the Biden administration’s latest lawless move will be politically. Here, those seeking to secure the southern border have ample ammunition, including highlighting the fact that the Biden administration’s plan does nothing to address that portion of the 200,000-some individuals crossing the southern border every month that herald from countries other than Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
Further, while converting 30,000 illegal border crossers into parolees at ports of entry in the interior of the country may provide a reduction to the problem on paper, it does not secure the border nor promise any reduction in the number of individuals attempting to enter via Mexico.
The parole plan presumes, though, that there will be an even greater reduction in illegal border crossings than the 30,000 who enter as part of the parole process. The parole plan, according to the Biden administration, creates a disincentive for citizens of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to enter illegally at the southern border because the DHS’s new policy also provides that aliens who bypass the parole process and enter the United States without authorization will be subject to an expedited removal to Mexico or their country of origin.
If so, then why not just institute a policy of expediting the removal of individuals who enter illegally at the southern border?
Biden’s Border Disaster
According to the figures included in last week’s DHS notices, prior to the surge at the southern border that followed the Biden administration’s change in enforcement policies, there weren’t even 30,000 aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela crossing the border illegally on an annual basis.
For instance, the notice reported that for fiscal years 2019 and 2020 respectively, DHS encountered only 3,039 and 4,431 Haitian nationals at the southwest border, but by 2021 the number exploded to 43,484.
From 2014 to 2019, DHS encountered 589 Cubans on average every month, but by 2022, the average monthly encounter at the land border totaled 17,809, and in October and November of 2022, some 62,000-plus Cuban nationals attempted to cross the border.
From fiscal 2014 through 2019, border agents encountered a monthly average of 127 Venezuelan nationals, but by fiscal year 2022, the average number of Venezuelans crossing the border illegally on a monthly basis totaled 15,494 and rose to more than 33,000 in September of that year.
For Nicaraguan nationals, in 2022, DHS encountered an estimated 157,400 aliens, or an average of 13,113 per month, compared to an average of 316 per month from fiscal years 2014-2019.
These figures show the Biden administration does not need a parole policy: It needs an enforcement policy.
No End in Sight
There is a telling admission hidden in the DHS notice from last week that announced changes to the parole plan established for Venezuela in October of 2022. As originally established, the Venezuela plan capped the number of “parolees” at a total of 24,000 beneficiaries. But, as the DHS acknowledged in its notice modifying that plan, just two months in, “demand for the Venezuela process has far exceeded the 24,000 limit.”
“Absent immediate action,” the DHS notice explained, “there is a risk that DHS meets the 24,000 cap, which would in turn cause the [government of Mexico] to no longer accept the return of Venezuelan nationals and end the success of the parole process to date at reducing the number of Venezuelan nationals encountered at the border.” Further, should it reach the 24,000 limit, thereby making prospective migrants no longer eligible for parole, the “DHS anticipates that we would then see increased irregular migration of Venezuelans.”
In other words, the Biden administration is allowing aliens to come to America “legally” because if it doesn’t, foreign nationals will just start crossing the border illegally again.
Further, while the Biden administration’s current plan caps the number of parolees at 30,000 per month, the DHS notices indicate it may revisit that figure if necessary. What then, is there to stop the Biden administration from increasing the 30,000 cap two-fold or ten-fold? Or what is there to prevent the administration from expanding parole to aliens from countries beyond the four — maybe 14, or even 40?
While the intricacies of immigration law are detailed and often convoluted, the bottom line of the Biden administration’s parole plan should be clear to all Americans: Joe Biden has no intention of securing our border or faithfully executing his duties as the president of the United States.

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala — Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei said that the Biden administration’s announcement of its decision to end Title 42, which never came to fruition, unleashed a wave of migrants bound for the U.S., in a sit-down interview with the Daily Caller News Foundation in his presidential palace.
Guatemala has recently seen large waves of illegal migrants because of Biden administration policies in the U.S., including its announcement to scrap Title 42, the public health order used to expel certain migrants to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Giammattei told the DCNF. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced on April 1 that Title 42 would end on May 23, but the move was blocked in a lawsuit led by Republican states. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Guatemalan President Says Biden Admin Refused To Help Him Deport Illegal Migrants Bound For The US Border)
“We have recently seen a very serious increase in the number of migrants seeking to cross our border,” Giammattei said. “When Title 42 was eliminated, we see an even greater increase in the crossings through Guatemala, illegal crossings through Guatemala to reach the United States illegally as well.”
WATCH:
The Biden administration also instituted a new rule to expel illegal migrants from Venezuela, while granting legal entry to 24,000 other Venezuelans that meet certain qualifications. Giammattei said that the program is also leading to problems for his country as Venezuelans continue to pass through with a new uncertain fate.
“And now that the Venezuelans we understand that have the possibility of obtaining a visa, that means another problem for Guatemala. We have no relationships with Venezuela, we do not have diplomatic exchanges, we don’t have an embassy here or there,” Giammattei said.
“Therefore, we cannot issue passports or any kind of identification for Venezuelan nationals here in Guatemala and that means a huge amount of a floating population that is going to become a serious problem for this country. While we remain stopping them here,” he added.
The White House didn’t immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.
CNN’s Dana Bash is trying to make the number of dangerous criminals pouring over the southern U.S. border sound far lower than it really is.
“Less than 1 percent of migrants encountered at the border have a criminal record,” Bash said while interviewing Republican Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake on Sunday, claiming to cite Department of Homeland Security figures.
“I’m going to have to disagree with you on that figure you just put out,” Lake countered. “We don’t know what their background is. There’s a reason they’re trying to get in unnoticed; it’s because they have a criminal background.”
“We know that [DHS has] tracked down terrorists, they have tracked down people wanted for murder,” Lake continued. “We’ve got people with rape records, you name it, we’ve got hardened criminals.”
“Let me just tell you that this stat that I just cited comes from the Department of Homeland Security, less than 1 percent of migrants,” Bash doubled down.
DANA BASH: DHS says less than 1 percent of migrants encountered at the border have a criminal record
KARI LAKE: I have to disagree with you on that figure … we have murders coming in, we have people with rape records
To the half-listening viewer, “less than 1 percent” sounds like a small figure. But when you consider that border enforcement officials have encountered more than 2 million illegal aliens pouring over our southern border so far during fiscal year 2022 — with another month to go before the year concludes — that figure begins to tell a fuller story.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection recorded 2,150,639 apprehensions on the U.S.-Mexico border between October 2021 and August 2022, the most on record and more than four times the total apprehensions recorded in 2020.
DHS is up to 2,000,000 migrant encounters in 2022. Their numbers show hundreds of violent criminals crossing every year and thousands of criminals overall. https://t.co/LRm7G8yZr3pic.twitter.com/TRu8dUnLGO
CBP’s Office of Field Operations, which operates at ports of entry, reported 15,558 encounters of noncitizens “who have been convicted of crime, whether in the United States or abroad, so long as the conviction is for conduct which is deemed criminal by the United States,” during fiscal year 2022 so far. Border Patrol, which operates along the border between entry ports, reported 10,778. Combined, that’s more than 25,000 convicted criminals — a whopping figure, far more alarming and newsworthy than the “less than 1 percent” talking point parroted by CNN. For Americans, who count immigration among their top three concerns headed into the midterm elections, tens of thousands of criminals pouring over the border is no small figure.
Of the more than 10,000 criminals apprehended by Border Patrol this fiscal year, more than 1,000 had prior convictions for “assault, battery, [or] domestic violence,” 60 had been convicted of homicide or manslaughter, and more than 2,000 were convicted of “illegal drug possession [or] trafficking.” More than 300 had been convicted of “sexual offenses” and nearly 800 of “burglary, robbery, larceny, theft, [or] fraud.”
Just two weeks ago, a Guatemalan national in the U.S. illegally was arrestedfor stabbing eight people on the Las Vegas Strip. An illegal immigrant from Mexico is accused of fatally shooting his partner, two of her children, and two neighbors last month in McGregor, Texas. Earlier last month, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced it had arrested an Ecuadorian man who had repeatedly entered the U.S. illegally and is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in Ecuador. When a 10-year-old girl in Ohio made headlines for seeking an abortion after she was raped, her alleged rapist was revealed to be an illegal alien.
The significance of 25,000 convicted criminals crossing the southern border notwithstanding, merely looking at criminal records vastly undercounts the number of likely criminals the Biden administration is inviting to the border. Impunity rates in Mexico and Central American countries are ludicrously high, meaning the vast majority of people who commit crimes are never convicted.
As NBC News reported a year ago, “the think tank México Evalúa found that 94.8 percent of the cases reported in Mexico go unpunished.” Another group suggested that number was even higher, with only 1.3 percent of crimes in the country ever solved. The Associated Press cited one estimation that “as of 2020, almost nine of every 10 homicides in Mexico go unpunished.” Another group found that “Over a period of four years, prosecutors’ offices managed just 35 convictions nationally in a universe of more than 82,000 investigations of forced disappearance in Mexico.”
In Guatemala, the next most common country of citizenship among illegal immigrants encountered by Border Patrol, impunity rates are comparably high. Despite the efforts of a UN-backed commission targeting corruption and impunity, “94 percent of crimes went unpunished on average over the last decade in Guatemala,” according to the think tank InSight Crime. “In 2018 alone, the impunity rate was almost 98 percent.”
Those sky-high impunity rates suggest that the number of people arriving at the southern U.S. border who have committed crimes — which were likely never prosecuted by corrupt, backlogged law enforcement in their home countries — is far, far higher than the nice-sounding “less than 1 percent” figure rolling off of Bash’s tongue. Furthermore, any person who breaks into the United States illegally is automatically committing a crime by violating our immigration laws.
No matter how hard CNN and the rest of the corporate press try to spin the facts into a different story, they can’t deny this one: More criminals are illegally entering our country than ever before because illegal immigration is at an all-time high as a direct result of the Biden administration’s policies.

News reports about the hardships endured by the Venezuelan illegal immigrants sent by Gov. Ron DeSantis to Martha’s Vineyard are hard to hear.
One “migrant” told The New York Times that he felt “betrayed” because he didn’t know … the Florida government had paid for his flight! “If I had known, I would not have gotten involved.”
It’s one thing for the Venezuelans to accept a free flight from federal taxpayers, but quite another to have Floridians paying for their transportation!
Another illegal immigrant was crying “uncontrollably” into the phone with his wife, saying “My love, we were tricked. This woman lied to us. She lied.”
I was really hoping for Honolulu. Plus, The Black Dog was out of avocado toast. THEY LIED!!!
But this preposterous article apparently took MSNBC by storm.
MSNBC’s Nicole Wallace: “sadistic politicians.”
Former Sen. Claire McCaskill: How can “someone who professes to be a Christian … treat these people this way”?
MSNBC “Republican” Charlie Sykes: Will DeSantis “wake up in the middle of the night and ask, ‘What was I thinking? What did I do?'”
I have to assume Times reporters are toying with MSNBC:
I bet I can get MSNBC to somberly report this story.
Nah, no one’s going to believe anyone was emotionally scarred from spending a day on Martha’s Vineyard.
Alan Dershowitz has a place there.
You’re right — send it to Nicole Wallace.
Massachusetts Democrat Dylan Fernandes tried to goose the illegals’ martyrdom, saying, “When [the Venezuelans] opened up their phones and put on Google Maps to see where they were and found out that they were surrounded entirely by water — that was terrifying.”
This remark was earnestly reported by the Times.
Hello? Between 70% and 85% of Venezuelans live on the coast. Water terrifies them?
One fact to bear in mind when listening to the illegals’ tales of woe is that asylum-seekers are the biggest liars on Earth. You, hardworking taxpayer, may not know this, but journalists do.
The asylum scam has been extensively documented in places like The New Yorker and the Times. (This was back when “journalism” consisted of something more than hourly Trump updates.)
In a 2011 article, “The Asylum Seeker,” The New Yorker described the dramatic performance of one central African asylum-seeker, “Caroline,” who’d flown to America for a wedding and decided to stay.
The following next paragraph contains graphic content about a story an asylum-seeker told an immigration official about rape:
Weeping — just like the Venezuelans in Martha’s Vineyard — Caroline told a U.S. immigration official: “[Government soldiers] took me by the head and they put my head against their penis. … They spat on us. They wanted us to do things. … They beat us up and did horrible things to us … They forced us to do fellatio and they put objects in our genitals. They stamped on us, they trampled us for three days. I suffered many infections because of the rape. My kidneys got infected.”
Earlier, Caroline had laughingly admitted to the reporter, “I have never been raped.” But as she performed for the immigration officer, “[t]he tears were flowing now, and she asked [for] tissues.”
Asylum-seekers like the Venezuelans learn their lines by memorizing scripts given to them by immigration activists and lawyers (all paid for by you, taxpayer). A former immigration lawyer told The New Yorker that there are persecution scripts for each country. “There’s the Colombian rape story” he said. “They all say they were raped by the FARC. There’s the Rwandan rape story, the Tibetan refugee story. The details for each are the same.”
It is beyond certain that the Venezuelans are spouting lines being fed to them by activists. (Though, to be fair, a fake violent gang rape does not remotely compare to the fake tragedy of being flown to Martha’s Vineyard.)
A law clerk (again: paid for by you) working for Caroline had proposed, “Why don’t you say you were circumcised?” A Russian woman claiming she was persecuted in Russia for being gay openly told her immigration attorney, “I’m not gay at all. I don’t even like gay people.” That last one was quoted in a 2011 Times article on the gigantic scam of asylum cases, “Asylum Ploys Play Off News To Open Door.”
From top to bottom, the entire asylum process is staffed by known liars who hate our country — the third-world invaders, their lawyers, the activists, as well as the government officials overseeing the “Wreck America” program.
Displayed prominently in the immigration office visited by Caroline was a poster for Cuba’s Communist Party. Why go to Latin America to fight for communism and risk ending up in a Peruvian prison for 15 years, like Lori Berenson? You can fight for communism right here at home, approving asylum applications!
In fact, the asylum officer and Caroline could have shared a good laugh about how much America sucks. While applying to stay in the U.S. permanently (with full welfare benefits), she carped, “I don’t know why I didn’t just go back. They are racists and xenophobes here.”
We ought to make all immigrants sign a form upon entering our country: I hereby acknowledge I am not descended from American slaves and am not allowed to complain about “racism.”
The good news is that, at this rate, soon there will be no difference in our country and the second-rate countries these people are fleeing. No point to applying for asylum after that! We’ll all be exactly the same. The bad news is, there will be no country left where Americans can seek asylum.

The massive news coverage of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ “political stunt” of sending 50 illegal aliens to Martha’s Vineyard reminds me of the media’s “political stunt” of referring to illegals as “legal asylum-seekers.”
Number one: They broke into our country. They’re illegal aliens. Number two: All asylum claims are frauds. Every single one.
Asylum is nothing but a conveyer belt to bring the worst people on Earth to our shores. You say you turned your own country into a hellhole? Fantastic! Come right in!
No one gets asylum from a well-run country. Why would we want to admit people who have demonstrated the wisdom, foresight and diligence to produce a functioning society? Rewards await only those who’ve participated in the creation of complete disaster zones. (Just think of what these great thinkers could do for our country!)
Take the Venezuelan illegal aliens whom DeSantis sent to Martha’s Vineyard. Biden’s press secretary and human kewpie doll, Karine Jean-Pierre, repeatedly referred to the briefly loved illegals as “people who are fleeing communism, who are fleeing hardship … desperate people — people who are trying to come here because they’re fleeing communism themselves.”
How did Venezuela become communist again?
As The Martha’s Vineyard Times explained (once the illegals were safely expelled and the island fumigated), Venezuela’s “humanitarian crisis” resulted from that country’s “complicated political and socioeconomic history.”
Actually, it’s not that complicated. Poor people in Venezuela voted for it. Oh boy, did they vote for it.
The ridiculous peasant Hugo Chavez promised Venezuela’s poor that he would take vengeance on the rich — “the squalid ones” — and give their stuff to the poor. Millions of poor people responded: YESSSSS!!!
Beginning in 1998, and five times after that, the poor came out in droves to support this clown. Fist pumping! Dancing in the streets! Red shirts as far as the eye could see!
As The New York Times described it, “To the adoring, impoverished masses who catapulted him to power, Hugo Chavez Frias is El Comandante, their protector and benefactor, the bold leader who will wipe out 40 years of inequality and corruption and redirect this country’s enormous oil wealth to better their lives.”
Chavez basically promised to deliver the Ta-Nehisi Coates “equity” agenda that’s so popular with the Democratic Party right now. The poor believed the rich were rich because they had stolen from the poor. Chavez vowed to take it back. It was sort of a 1619 Project for Venezuela.
As promised, Chavez proceeded to seize private businesses, farms (by 2011, he’d expropriated 6 million acres of farmland) and golf resorts, telling poor people to move onto the club greens.
Anybody want asylum yet? Nope!
Between 1998 and Chavez’s death in 2013 — whereupon he was promptly replaced with his handpicked successor, President Nicolas Maduro — Venezuela’s poor voted for him over and over and over again: in 1998 (80% public approval rating his first year in office), in 2000 (winning 60% of the vote), in 2004 (59% against recalling him), in 2006 (winning 63% of the vote), in 2009 (54% voted to make him president for life) and finally in 2012 (winning 55% of the vote).
Never has any public been polled more often and returned the same resounding answer.
Well, they’re not fist-pumping anymore. Instead, Venezuela’s poor are claiming they “deserve” to access America’s generous welfare state.
Twenty years of Chavez’s Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DIE!) produced this: “a country whose economy has collapsed … malnutrition and disease are soaring [and m]illions have emigrated to escape the grind of finding enough to eat, of living without reliable electricity or tap water,” as Bloomberg News put it in 2019.
Venezuela is sitting on the largest oil reserves in the world, and the communists still couldn’t get it to work.
Who could have seen that coming??? Oh, anyone with two functioning brain cells. There were little hints, like Chavez promising his very first year in office “to follow the path of Fidel,” and describing Cuba as “a sea of happiness, social justice and true peace.”
Millions of Venezuela’s poor thought that sounded just peachy, and the rest did nothing. They act as if this 100% predictable catastrophe was a natural disaster for which they bear no responsibility.
Yeah, I definitely want these people as my fellow citizens. They’ve shown solid judgment.
Now that their own choices have wrecked their country, they demand free admission into ours. Unless they’re professional baseball players, I’m not seeing what’s in it for us.
In the kewpie doll’s press conference proclaiming that these innocent little lambs “deserve better” (than being sent to a fabulous beach resort), she cheerfully listed the great heaping portions of welfare being ladled out to Hispanics:
“[O]ur administration has delivered billions of dollars in loans to Hispanic small businesses, expanded the child tax credit to provide help to millions of families and reduce Hispanic child poverty by more than 40%, expanded access to quality healthcare to thousands of Latino families … And thanks to President Biden’s student loan debt relief program, almost half of Latino students with federal loans will see their debts forgiven.”
The Democratic Party is cribbing Chavez’s lines. And it will work, because the same people who fell for it last time will be voting for it here.
To be sure, the Venezuelan “asylum-seekers” aren’t any worse than other members of that illustrious group. If (when) they are granted asylum, these poor decision-makers will join:
— Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombers (sometimes, they’re persecuted for a reason);
— Ibragim Todashev, who, along with Tamerlan, slit the throats of three Jewish men in Boston;
— Beatrice Munyenyezi, a genocidal Rwandan, who won asylum by lying about being a victim of the genocide, rather than a perpetrator.
Those are just a few of our standout asylum grantees. To be fair, the illegal Venezuelans haven’t killed anybody yet, as far as we know. They’re more like a homeless guy who shows up on your doorstep after a lifetime of bad choices and demands that you give him your house.
Perhaps, just this once, we should defer to the wisdom of our moral betters on Martha’s Vineyard and tell the Venezuelans: We love you! Now get the hell out.
Setting a police car on fire during a riot is a pretty serious crime, don’t you think? Some might even call it an insurrection. Yet, in the case of BLM arsonist Ayoub Tabri, he was sentenced to just one year in prison. How much do you think a January 6er would have served for such a crime?
Ayoub Tabri, 25, of Arlington, Virginia, was arrested in 2020 for tossing a lit road flare on a Pennsylvania state trooper’s car during a BLM riot in Philadelphia. On Monday, U.S. District Judge Joel M. Slomsky imposed a 364-day sentence on him rather than the 37 to 46-month sentence recommended by prosecutors. As for the reason, the Philadelphia Inquirer is rightfully confused about whether this is because BLM is a protected cause or because this man’s immigration status made him a protected class.
“But it remains to be seen whether his sentence was a sign of a softening stance toward those charged with similar offenses during the May 30, 2020, unrest or an outlier influenced by the unique immigration consequences that Tabri — a citizen of Morocco who has lived in the U.S. as a green card holder since he was 6 years old — faced because of his crimes.” Tabri was a beneficiary of the diversity visa lottery.
The judge noted in the sentence that because a sentence of 365 days or more would be defined as an “aggravated felony” for the purpose of deportation law, he purposely sentenced him to 364 days to avoid removal from the country. Given the time served in jail pre-trial, this means Tabri will be released immediately on three years’ probation.
Tabri is the recipient of diversity visa (aka green card lottery)
Being sentenced to 365 days in prison would have made it an 'aggravated felony' which would be grounds for potential deportation and being barred from entry to US.
In other words, a member of a protected class got protection for engaging in a crime on behalf of another protected class.
Across the board, we have witnessed leniencies for BLM rioters, including those who burned down police stations because judges sympathized with their cause. However, in this case, it is particularly egregious. We should embrace the opportunity to deport violent foreign nationals, not shun it. Typically, we are forced to constantly deal with the revolving door of American violent criminals who continuously get out of jail and reoffend. But why should we keep other countries’ criminals? If indeed this man’s deportation would be difficult, that is a decision ICE should make, not a federal judge.
The Inquirer notes that although this case had an extra wrinkle because of the immigration status, the new Biden U.S. attorney allowed other BLM arsonists to plead down from a seven-year mandatory sentence. Despite videos of Tabri and his friends armed with flares and a hammer, skateboards, a bike lock, and a crowbar attacking other cars, “Assistant U.S. Attorney Vineet Gauri described the plea agreement and the government’s reconsideration of the arson charge as part of “the Justice Department’s holistic view of these cases around the country.”
“A holistic view?” In other words, even though these crimes could have and often did lead to death, serious bodily injury, and widespread destruction, because it was for the “right” sort of cause, they went lenient on the defendants. They took into account prior records and the fact that Tabri otherwise wasn’t in trouble with the law. Contrast that to J6 defenders who served honorably in the military, never had a criminal record, and weren’t nearly as violent, yet they were held without bail.
But the two-tiered justice system is exactly what America’s judicial system has devolved into. Earlier this week, federal prosecutors dropped charges against nine crew members of Stephen Colbert who were caught illegally in the Capitol filming skits. Yet, a 69-year-old cancer patient is serving two months in prison for simply being present in the Capitol after the cops had opened the doors for people to enter.
And no, it’s not because our government suddenly has a Singapore-like affinity for order. Less than 10% of those arrested during the endless riots in Portland wound up being prosecuted. The violence was unprecedented. Yet, at the same time, prosecutors are seeking a 15-year sentence for Guy Wesley Reffitt, who behaved badly on Jan. 6 but never entered the Capitol building and is being charged with the vaguely defined “obstruction of an official proceeding,” a statute that is being used as a de facto terrorism charge. At this rate, had Reffitt torched a cop car at Capitol Hill, they’d be seeking the death penalty. And no, one’s immigration status would never have gotten in the way of a tougher sentence for a J6er.
Fed up with illegal immigration in Texas, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said Wednesday that he was going to have charter buses ship illegal aliens to Washington D.C. and drop them off at the steps of the U.S. Capitol.
Abbott made the comments at a media briefing announcing the steps his administration would take to respond to the Biden administration rescinding Title 42 and the expected massive wave of illegal immigrants.
“To help local officials whose communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden administration, Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal aliens who have been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington, D.C.,”said Abbott.
“We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they’re allowing to come across our border,” he added.
Abbott said he was ordering the Texas Division of Emergency Management to operate the project. State officials said they were ready to activate up to 900 charter buses, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin.
Title 42 was a controversial policy put in place under the Trump administration in response to the threat of coronavirus infections among the illegal immigrant community. Experts worry that without the policy, hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants and refugee applicants would flood over the U.S.-Mexico border.
Illegal immigration advocates immediately excoriated Abbott over his announcement.
“This is a sick and reprehensible stunt that will increase militarization and violence against people seeking asylum!”tweeted the official account for United We Dream. “We have the resources to welcome refugees + treat people with dignity, but Abbott is choosing to meet people with violence and his twisted attempt at humiliation.”
Among those critical of the Biden administration over the rescission of Title 42 was Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia.
“Title 42 has been an essential tool in combatting the spread of COVID-19 and controlling the influx of migrants at our southern border. We are already facing an unprecedented increase in migrants this year, and that will only get worse if the Administration ends the Title 42 policy,” said Manchin.
“We are nowhere near prepared to deal with that influx,” he added.

Great news for Joe Biden. After months of abysmal public approval numbers, President Biden’s favorability among registered voters has soared by 2 points to 45%! And all he had to do was bring us to the brink of World War III.
The media are thrilled with the possibility of nuclear war with Russia. Catastrophes are terrific for ratings, and flood-the-zone coverage of a war between two faraway countries that has almost zero effect on the lives of most Americans allows journalists to act like deep-think, geopolitical strategists (after having quickly looked up “Ukraine” on Wikipedia).
They dragged out the COVID panic porn for two straight years. By now, the only people still interested in pandemic updates are hysterical liberal women in Manhattan claiming to have “long-haul COVID.”
Of course, when American kids are murdered expressly as a result of our own government’s policies, the journalism protocol is: No crying, no coverage.
There will be no tears for the 5-year-old Florida girl killed in October when an illegal alien from Guatemala, Ernesto Lopez Morales, tanked up on six 32-ounce beers, then plowed into the little girl and her mother as he was driving to get more beer.
Nor for Texas teenager Adrienne Sophia Exum, killed instantly one Sunday afternoon in 2020 when Heriberto Fuerte-Padilla, an illegal alien from Mexico, smashed into the car she was driving, then fled the scene. There’s even some news: The Biden administration announced that Fuerte-Padilla will not be deported.
And there will be no weeping for the still-unidentified mother and daughter, aged 59 and 22, killed last December when a human smuggler (a “U.S. citizen,” aka “anchor baby”) carrying six illegals across the border into Texas, sped through a stop sign and T-boned the pair.
I’m sure it’s just a coincidence, but the media’s obsessive focus on Ukraine is terrific for the interests of the Democratic Party. Recall that, in his 2012 book, “Left Turn: How Liberal Media Bias Distorts the American Mind,” then-UCLA professor Tim Groseclose demonstrated that media bias alone costs Republicans about 8 to 10 percentage points in elections.
And that was 2012. One can only imagine what it is in post-Trump 2022. If only we could return to the junior varsity media bias of 2012!
Until the war in Ukraine, the Democrats were facing midterms after having spent the previous two years mandating masks and an endless series of vaccinations — even for the vaccinated or previously infected.
Democrats flung open the border to illegal alien murderers, drug dealers, gang members and welfare recipients.
Democratic district attorneys have turned city after city into feces-smeared murdertopias that make Charles Bronson’s “Death Wish” look like “The Sound of Music.”
These days, the left’s main casus belli is teaching little kids about anal sex, transgenders and the inherent evil of white people.
What could even Stalin’s media do with that record?
Option 1) Implement a collective mind wipe, perhaps through an electromagnetic pulse, to erase voters’ memory of everything that’s happened since Joe Biden was sworn in.
Option 2) WAR! (Someplace in the world that’s not here.)
What crisis at our border? We’re reporting on a WAR.
How can you talk about murder rates when CHILDREN ARE DYING IN UKRAINE?
What vaccine mandates? COVID is over. Now we’re talking about war!
Everything bad that’s happening is Putin’s fault! He’s like Hitler!
Talk about Russian collusion! Putin gave Trump Facebook ads; he’s giving Biden a military invasion.
By now, the media have whipped the public into such a frenzy over Ukraine that a majority of Americans want the U.S. to start shooting down Russian planes, starting World War III with nuclear armed power.
A small price to pay for Democratic dominance.
But much like American military interventions around the globe, things don’t always go as planned.
Those astronomical numbers came as a result of the conclusion of the Persian Gulf War, when we went to war with Saddam Hussein because he had invaded neighboring Kuwait — violating that nation’s sacred sovereignty! — and proceeded to commit unspeakable war crimes, including using poison gas. The first week of that war, Bush’s poll numbers shot from 64% to 82%.
Republicans had a lock on the next year’s presidential contest. No serious Democrats were willing to challenge him, and the party ended up with a horny hick from Arkansas as their nominee.
And then it all collapsed. By Election Day 1992, Bush’s public approval rating was down to a pathetic 34%. The h*rny hick won the election, and Bush became an embarrassing one-term president.
On the military side, at least the Middle East was finally at peace. We never heard a peep out of Hussein again. Wait — what happened?
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis threatened this week to bus illegal immigrants to President Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware should the administration continue to pay for “clandestine” flights carrying migrants into the Sunshine State.
“If they’re going to come here, you know, we’ll provide buses and … I will send them to Delaware,”DeSantis warned during a press conference on Wednesday.
The governor’s tough remarks came amid a lengthy polemic against the president over his handling of the ongoing immigration crisis at the U.S southern border, during which he described the secretive process that the Biden administration has reportedly used to send some 70 flights carrying illegal aliens into his state and elsewhere around the country. One of those flights carried an illegal immigrant who allegedly went on to murder a father of four in Florida, DeSantis declared earlier this week.
“There’s no notification to the state of Florida,” DeSantis complained, noting, “These are done mostly in the middle of the night, and it’s clandestine. And we really have no say into it.”
“I know when we initially got wind of this, it wasn’t through normal channels, it’s people in the federal government who are effectively leaking this to us so that we have a heads-up on it,” he continued.
The governor then argued that if the president is unwilling to secure the country’s border with Mexico, then he should open up his home state to house the illegal immigrants rather than shipping them to other places around the country.
“If he’s not going to support the border being secured, then he should be able to have everyone there. So, we will do whatever we can in that regard. And we are absolutely going to do everything we can,” DeSantis insisted.
DeSantis also took issue with separate reporting that amid rapidly rising inflation in the country, Biden is considering handing out payments to some illegal immigrant families who were separated at the border under the previous administration.
“The president has said that basically, they want to even pay reparations to people who came illegally, just think about that,” the governor said. “You as an American, you get higher gas prices, you get higher grocery bills, you get told, basically, to just grin and bear it.”
“But someone breaks the law, comes illegally, and they’re going to cut him a check for hundreds of thousands of dollars,” he continued. “That is just unbelievable. But that’s what we’re dealing with.”
New York lawmakers carved out a $2.1 billion Covid fund for illegal aliens who lost work during the pandemic. This is by far the largest in the country and dwarfed California’s $75 million give away to illegals last year. The fund is part of a larger state budget agreement that will offer one-time payments of up to $15,600 to illegals.
If the illegal alien is unable to provide any kind of documentation, they will still be given $3,200 – the same amount of money Americans were given in Covid stimulus checks approved by Congress.
According to the Pew Research Center, there are approximately 750,000 illegal aliens living in New York state.
New York lawmakers struck a deal this week to establish a $2.1 billion coronavirus relief fund for undocumented immigrants and other unemployed workers who were ineligible for federal aid during the pandemic.
The fund, which was announced as part of a broader $212 billion state budget agreement, will offer one-time payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants who lost their jobs during the virus-induced crisis.
“This nation’s economy has long been built on the backs of our undocumented workforce, and their essential labor that has helped keep our nation running throughout this pandemic,” New York State Sen. Jessica Ramos, a proponent of the fund, said in a statement.

House Republicans claimed during a tour of the southern border that the Biden administration’s immigration policies have prompted organized crime syndicates not only to increase smuggling children and families to the border but adults from around the world, including some with ties to terrorism.
“I just left a few border agents, and I asked them, ‘Who are the individuals you’re catching?’”House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California said during a press conference in El Paso, Texas, Monday. “They’re from Central America. But do you know who else? Iran. Yemen. Sri Lanka. When I walked through the facility, there’s more Haitians than any other nationality I saw. And why were they coming now? You ask the border agents; they were shocked themselves: because they’re being released into the country.”
House Homeland Security Committee ranking member John Katko, a former federal prosecutor who worked in El Paso, said the international cartels are “masterfully”exploiting the border due to an easing of Trump-era border restrictions that prevented people from seeking asylum at the border and barred anyone from being released into the United States.
“People they’ve caught in the last few days [in Border Patrol’s El Paso sector] have been under the terror watch list,” Katko said. “Individuals that they have on the watch list for terrorism are now starting to exploit the southern border.”
Border Patrol does not disclose the identities or affiliations of adults its agents arrest at the border, and it has historically arrested people from more than 90 countries each year.
McCarthy and a dozen Republican colleagues visited West Texas earlier in the day, where they went inside a new $48 million Border Patrol facility that was built last year to house migrant families after agents in the region were overwhelmed by families during the 2019 humanitarian crisis.
“We built the facility larger than we ever thought we could,”said McCarthy. “Today, we made history. Today they [are] overcapacity. … It’s only growing exponentially every single day.”
“You’re spending tens of thousands of dollars in a day just to feed this surge. … They’re spending tens of thousands more a day to clothe them, to transfer them,” said Katko. “Most [unaccompanied children] have a piece of paper across their shirt with instructions on who they are, where are they going, or what information they get, and what they need to do. So it’s very organized, and you’re paying a lot of money for a child — to get them across.”
Several lawmakers expressed frustration that the Border Patrol is not administering coronavirus tests before releasing people into the U.S. or before transferring people to other agencies.
“At a time when the president will keep our country closed, when maybe we have hoped for a Fourth of July to get together just with their family, how much spread of COVID Is he creating every single day by his policies along this border?”McCarthy said.
Rep. Maria Salazar, a first-term Floridian, called on Hispanic Americans to “be part of the solution” because the surge of migrants is a “problem that belongs to all Americans, including the Hispanic Americans.”
“We need to join forces and send a message that we cannot allow what’s happening on the border because it’s our, our girls, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, the ones who are being raped. It’s our girls, the ones … who are being trafficked,” said Salazar. “Send a message to your representatives that we cannot have this happening at the border because the overwhelming majority of the people that are trying to come in belong to our group, to our ethnic group.”
In February, illegal immigration at the southern border peaked at the highest level since 2019. More than 100,000 people were encountered attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico, nearly all between ports of entry where vehicles and pedestrians are supposed to be inspected before admission into the country. That figure is up from 78,000 encountered in January.
February saw a 61% increase in the number of unaccompanied children taken into custody, as well as a 164% increase in the number of family units. Approximately 9,500 solo children and 20,000 family unitswere encountered. Children and adults are to be turned over within three days to other federal agencies for longer-term holding, but Border Patrol is overwhelmed taking people into custody, and agencies are at capacity and unable to accept transfers.
Over the weekend, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency was sending in staff to help with several thousands of children arriving each week.
The rise in illegal migration is due to a number of factors, including high crime and economic instability in sending countries across Central America and Mexico that have worsened due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Last spring, Border Patrol began to immediately return nearly all illegal immigrants to Mexico or their home countries under an initiative known as Title 42, which was implemented to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in small, crowded holding facilities on the border. Last April, just 17,000 people were encountered on the southern border. That number increased month to month to around 70,000 through each month in the fall and early winter. The Biden administration chose not to return single children immediately, and it also stopped pushing asylum-seekers back into Mexico to await court proceedings under a Trump-era initiative known as the Migrant Protection Protocols.
The surge of people coming over the border is also happening despite the Trump administration’s completion of 450 miles of border wall before President Biden halted all projects in January. While the wall is meant to deny entry at certain places, Border Patrol officials have defended the rising number of arrests as proof that it works because it is funneling people to certain places that do not have a barrier so people trying to get into the U.S. can be easily apprehended by federal law enforcement.
The Biden administration has instructed Department of Homeland Security officials to use more “inclusive language” to describe people residing in the country illegally, such as dropping the word “alien” and replacing it with “noncitizen,” according to a memo recently issued by immigration authorities.
The changes are reportedly part of an effort by the Biden administration to portray itself as more welcoming on immigration than the previous administration under President Trump, which would use terms such as “illegal aliens” to describe people who bypassed U.S. laws and security perimeters to enter and remain in the country.
According to Axios, an email sent Tuesday to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials described how the agency’s acting director, Tracy Renaud, had signed a memo encouraging “more inclusive language in the agency’s outreach efforts, internal documents and in overall communication with stakeholders, partners and the general public.”
The memo, obtained by BuzzFeed News, instructed officials to stop referring to people as “illegal alien,” “alien,” or “undocumented alien” in internal and external communications, but instead use the terms “noncitizen,” “undocumented noncitizen,” or “undocumented individual.”
It also urged USCIS officials to discontinue their use of the term “assimilation” in exchange for “integration”and begin referring to those who apply for benefits like green cards as “customers,” BuzzFeed reported. USCIS is a subsidiary agency which operates within the DHS.
Interestingly, besides planned use in the agency’s internal communications and any communications it has with the public, the wording changes are not set to affect forms or operational documents where using the previous terminology is deemed most appropriate. That fact indicates the changes are nothing more than a messaging makeover. Though, by continuing to soften language associated with illegal immigration, the administration undoubtedly hopes to move public opinion on the matter toward greater acceptance of illegal entry and favor for open borders.
The words being replaced in the agency’s messaging are in fact the most accurate technical terms to describe issues at hand. Even BuzzFeed acknowledges that the term “alien” is routinely found within U.S. Code and is “regularly referenced in the immigration system and in court rulings to describe everyone who is not a US citizen.”
Speaking with Axios, Robert Law, a former Trump administration official who now works at the Center for Immigration Studies, noted, “By statute, ‘alien’ literally means a person not a U.S. citizen or national.”
“That is not offensive, and neither is ‘assimilation,'” he said.
Republican Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton claimed Tuesday that President Joe Biden is “keeping America closed” with reported travel restrictions while opening the southern border with a non-deportation order.
“It is crazy. The Biden administration has put in placed a moratorium on all deportations,” Cotton told Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.”
“They further are proposing that they will ignore serious crimes like assault or DUI when it comes to deportations,” Cotton said, while noting reports like the one from Jackson County, Texas sheriff A.J. Louderback, who suggested to Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that illegal aliens are being allowed into the U.S. without a coronavirus test.
Under President Joe Biden’s non-deportation rules, immigrants can’t be deported if they get a DUI, commit fraud, tax crimes or assault, Fox News reported, noting that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be stood down. In January, a federal judge in Texas ruled against the Biden administration’s plan to have a 100-day moratorium on most deportations.
Cotton said Biden is keeping America closed with reported travel restrictions that include requiring anyone flying domestically to successfully pass a coronavirus test first.
“Just think about that. Illegal aliens can come into our country without vaccination, without even a negative test but we may not be able to fly in our own country without a negative test.”
Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) told Politifact that agents perform inspections for symptoms of COVID-19 on immigrants who cross the border and refer them to local hospitals if they are at risk. CBP also told Politifact that procedures on the coronavirus have been in place since the beginning of the pandemic. Procedures included “screening individuals for COVID-19 symptoms when they are initially processed at a facility, and continued monitoring for potential COVID-19 symptoms for as long as they remain in CBP custody,” according to a 2020 inspector general report.
“Joe Biden is keeping America closed but is keeping our borders open,” Cotton added.
Biden’s eight-year path to citizenship plan would allow all illegal immigrants living in the U.S. as of Jan. 1, 2021 to achieve temporary legal status in five years and to apply for citizenship after an additional three years.

Individuals would be expected to pay taxes and be subject to background checks during this process.
The Biden administration is not encouraging migrants to cross the southern border and has attempted to reduce expectations of mass asylum.
Speaking to the nation on Tuesday night, Tucker Carlson revealed the awful truth that illegal immigrants who are being released from ICE detention facilities are not being tested for COVID-19 prior to entering the general population.
Carlson said that the Biden administration is “releasing thousand of foreign nationals” into American neighborhoods without making sure that they are COVID-free before doing so. He noted that people from countries with high infection rates “are being sent forth into the population as though COVID isn’t real.” This, he says, is the policy of the Biden administration.
On Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki “didn’t care enough to answer the question” as to whether or not this is the case. The program is a result, Carlson said, of a Biden Executive Order basically authorizing the “catch and release” of illegal immigrants. He quoted a border control worker who said definitively that they do not test immigrants before releasing them into the US. Sheriff Leon Wilmot, who works in border control, sent a message to Sen. Krysten Simena, saying “This is a particularly dangerous approach, as there is currently no protocol for testing any of these people for the Covid-19 virus.”
Wilmot also said “…Nor is there any support being offered by the federal government to house, feed, medically treat or transport these immigrants.”
Carlson said that this was basically only the tip of the iceberg with regard to the Biden administration’s plans for integrating illegal immigrants into society at large, including criminal offenders. Much of these new orders have to do with the feeling that protecting Americans against illegal immigrants is racist, and that the only reason Americans are opposed to criminals staying on the American side of the border instead of being deported is because of racism.
Carlson showed a panel of leftist journalists who intoned that concept and refused to note any additional issues with illegal immigration into the US. He quoted an ICE memo that said “Effective immediately Convictions would include: Drug based crimes, simple assault, DUI, money laundering, property crimes, fraud, tax crimes… gang tattoos.”
Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Acting Director Tom Homan said Wednesday that President Joe Biden is turning America into a “sanctuary jurisdiction” that will lead to crimes like murder and rape.
WATCH:
“Be clear what’s happening here. President Biden has declared the entire country a sanctuary jurisdiction, which means more tragedy is going to come,” Homan told “Fox & Friends.”
“Mark my words. People will die. People will be raped. People will be victimized by criminals that shouldn’t even be here. This is — it’s coming,” he continued.
But Homan said Wednesday that the Biden administration is “circumventing the judge’s order” by telling ICE officers to stop arresting illegals or releasing them in to local communities.
“What kind of message does that send to the rest of the world?” Homan asked. “If you come to the country illegally, if you can get past the border patrol, don’t commit an aggravated felony, and you’re home free. You get to stay because ICE is not looking for you. It’s no longer illegal to be here illegally.”
Noting that he “started as a border patrol agent,” Homan said he “climbed the ladder to be the ICE director” and can say that the situation at the border is the result of “the most anti-law enforcement, pro-criminal policy that I could ever imagine in my worst nightmare.”

Homan said the non-deportation order “is sending a message to the rest of the world” and as a result “the border is surging.”He claimed the Biden administration is creating another crisis at the border but “they fail to mention the surge at the border is of their own making because of their promises and enticements — that’s why there’s a surge at the border.”
President Donald Trump signed a memorandum Tuesday that seeks to bar people in the U.S. illegally from being counted in congressional reapportionment, a move that drew immediate criticism from Democratic officials.
Last year the Supreme Court blocked the Trump Administration’s move to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census. Chief Justice Roberts sided with liberals — shocker!
The census is taken every 10 years and is used to allot seats to the US House of Representatives in addition to distributing almost $1 trillion in federal funds. This is why DNC Chair Tom Perez freaked out on Tuesday and slammed Trump.
“There is no end to Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda,”said Tom Perez, chairman of the DNC. “First, he tried to put a citizenship question on the census but got blocked by the Supreme Court. Now he’s back at it with an unconstitutional order that has no purpose other than to silence and disempower Latino voices and communities of color.”
Are you noticing all the Leftist promises of giving people who are here illegally, the right to vote? Isn’t that foreign interference in our elections?
Very quietly the Left has been encouraging illegal immigration. President Obama flew them in by the plane loads from Islamic countries, claiming they were suffering refugees. (Notice none have asked to go back? And, yes, American taxpayers are still paying for their benefits.) What that fact established, these Leftist had the audacity to claim President Trump invited Russia to interfere, when our nation’s spy guys told them the Russians have been interfering for some time. So has the ILLEGAL ALIENS.
Why are we NOT screaming this from the house tops? Why are we thinking the hapless Republicans will? FOX won’t; in fact, the only medium that IS TALKING ABOUT THIS are the bloggers. Perhaps promoting us will help the messages out.
If you are one of the ones who gets entry into one of these so called “Town Meetings”, how about asking this question? Maybe show them the following political cartoon?
According to the Democrats voter fraud does not exist and yet they try to advance voter fraud every chance they get. North Carolina is a classic example of this. Democratic Governor Roy Cooper vetoed a bill that would have purged the voting roll of self admitted non citizens. Illegal aliens if you will. He says he vetoed it because it would allowed harassment of legitimate voters. How stupid would you have to be to believe that statement from Cooper. Let me put it this way, if you believe him make sure you spit out your gum before walking.
J. Christian Adams of the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) told Breitbart News that the vetoing of the legislation by Cooper ahead of the 2020 presidential election is setting “a dangerous precedent for North Carolina and any other state with higher numbers of legal immigrants passing through their government systems.”
“Non-citizens most often become registered to vote by mistake when they fill out an application for a service, like a driver’s license,” Adams continued. “Instead of adopting a simple procedure to catch those errors, Gov. Cooper bowed to the radical left’s desire to keep non-citizen voter participation an unspeakable matter. Legitimate votes in North Carolina will continue to be canceled and otherwise good people will risk deportation because of his veto. This is truly a backward decision from the governor.”
In June, PILF filed a lawsuit against the North Carolina State Board of Elections for failing to make public the number of non-citizens who are on state voter rolls. Last year, a PILF study revealed that non-citizens on voter rolls in sanctuary cities like San Diego County, California were vastly more likely to register as Democrats rather than Republicans.

As we head into the long Labor Day weekend, here are two tips to make your holiday even more cheerful.
First: Remember to watch out for drunk driving illegal aliens!
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a report after report showing that Hispanics are wildly overrepresented in drunk driving accidents (but also contribute so much to our cultural life, musical heritage and landscape!).
Or, as the Huffington Post puts it: “Latinos At Greater Risk of Dying From Driving While Intoxicated.” They’re victims of the drunk driving epidemic! German Concentration Camp Guards At Greater Risk of Dying From Accidental Inhalation of Zyklon B.
One NHTSA report elaborated on the inebriated Latino driver problem:
“The authors found that some Latino parents actively promoted drinking among their sons as a sign of masculinity or machismo. (A focus group) indicated drinking among Hispanics might be motivated by the need to prove their manhood within the Latino culture: ‘Everyone thinks they can handle alcohol, especially men.’ … ‘A lot of Hispanics think that way. It’s the macho male and the woman gives in to the man. Machismo causes this behavior.’”
The report also stated, “Mexican-American DWI offenders vastly overestimated the number of drinks required to make them unsafe drivers (eight to 10 drinks).”
It’s unclear if the NHTSA’s methodology took into account the effects of Cinco de Mayo.
Naturally, it would be outrageous to conclude from this that drunk driving is the national sport of Mexico. However, last year alone, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported 80,730 illegals for drunk driving, the majority of them Mexicans.
As the Houston Chronicle delicately put it a few years ago: “Young Hispanic men not getting message about drinking, driving.”… crashing, burning, their ashes being spread across Cuernavaca …
Thanks to its proximity to Mexico, Texas leads the nation in fatal drunk driving accidents, including those involving a blood alcohol content of 0.15 or greater — nearly double the legal limit. In 2014, young Latinos were responsible for about one-third of all DUI accidents in Houston — 535 — though they made up only 8 percent of the population.
MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell sneered at President Trump’s June 2018 meeting with family members of Americans killed by illegals, saying most of their dead kids were killed in traffic accidents. As if that doesn’t count.
Why did we have to hear endlessly about O’Donnell’s car accident in Tortola a few years ago, which he described as his “brush with death”?
Yeah, that must have been rough, some real Brian Williams stuff there. But Don Rosenberg finding out his 25-year-old son had been run over, backed over and then run over again by an illegal alien — well, that’s just a “traffic accident.”
Our media have no idea who Don Rosenberg is, and no interest in finding out. Their concern for “children” is limited to the ones they can exploit to get their way on illegal immigration. They wail about “children separated from their parents,” but it would be a dream come true for the “Angel Mom” parents if their kids were merely separated from them for six months — or six years! — if only they could see them again, ever.
You know what else is kind of traumatic? Being wedged into the false panel of a truck with a breathing tube before traversing hundreds of miles of rough terrain to make it to the U.S. border. These parents did that to their kids.
The New York Times, too, nonchalantly mentioned that the kids of some of the families at Trump’s White House meeting “died in car accidents.”They just died. Car accidents happen all the time.
Yes, traffic accidents can be caused by anyone — especially a sh*t-faced illegal going 80 miles per hour on a residential street. Internet scams happen all the time, so, let’s take in more Nigerians!
The point is, these particular drunk drivers never should have been here in the first place.
Tricia Taylor didn’t die, but the 18-year-old had to have her legs amputated almost to the hip after a drunk driving illegal alien from El Salvador swerved his car onto a sidewalk in Pontiac, Michigan, and rammed her against the wall. It was a miracle that she lived, suffering through multiple surgeries and a lifetime of pain medications. At Jose Carcamo’s sentencing, Taylor said, “What you give him won’t come close to the sentence he gave me for the rest of my life.”
D.J. and Wendy Corcoran began 2019 by burying their 22-year-old son, Pierce, senselessly killed when a 44-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, Francisco Eduardo Franco-Cambrany, swerved headfirst across a double yellow line, straight into oncoming traffic. Echoing the media, Alexander De La Espriella tweeted of Pierce’s horrible death, “Accidents happen, by anyone to anyone … ”— as quoted in the Knoxville News. At least we didn’t have to hear about the great tacos this time.
Six-year-old Annie Cumpston was walking hand-in-hand with her mother in 2003, after attending the Ringling Brothers Circus in Baltimore with her family, when a drunk Mexican plowed into the crosswalk, killing the little girl. The intoxicated illegal, Guillermo Diaz-Lopez, fled the scene, dragging a pedestrian on his truck, and was finally apprehended while trying to break through a police barrier.
Today, you can visit “Annie’s Playground,” a beautiful 60,000-square-foot wonderland built in the victim’s honor in Fallston, Maryland — at least until Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris demand its demolition to show their support for “undocumented immigrants.”
Second friendly holiday tip: Always remember — diversity is a strength!
Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, on Wednesday called for President Trump to defy nationwide injunctions imposed by federal courts on his immigration policies and secure the border. Roy (Liberty Score A, 100%) was speaking on BlazeTV’s “Steve Deace Show” when he said it’s time for a “Jacksonian moment” from President Trump.
“You’ve talked about the court challenges this administration faces virtually any time it tries to honor any of its campaign pledges. What legal advice would you give them? At what point … would you advise them to stop taking [nationwide] injunctions and all the rest of this seriously?” host Steve Deace asked.
“I would tell the president to do that now. The time is now,” Roy responded. “We need a Jacksonian moment where the president of the United States looks at the courts and says, ‘you enforce that law.’”
President Andrew Jackson is famously attributed with responding to a Supreme Court opinion he had no intention of abiding by, saying, “John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!”Roy wants Trump to have the same attitude toward nationwide injunctions against his border policies.
Roy said the nationwide injunctions imposed by federal courts have prevented the Trump administration from securing the border. He cited the example of the 9th Circuit Court blocking Trump’s policy if having asylum-seekers wait for their cases to be processed in Mexico instead of waiting in the United States, where many illegal aliens have disappeared before their day in court.
Roy suggested that if that policy were allowed to go into effect, migrants would be disincentivized from attempting the dangerous journey across the Rio Grande river into the United States, knowing that they will be turned around after claiming asylum.
“Peoplewould have to go to the ports of entry, and then perhaps that man and that child would still be alive today,” Roy said, referring to the viral photo of a migrant father and his toddler daughter washed up dead on the shore of the Rio Grande river.
Federal judges have also issued nationwide injunctions blocking the Trump administration’s moratorium on travel to and from Middle East countries with terrorist activity, blocking Trump’s plan to give federal grants to police who enforce immigration laws, and blocking Trump administration policies rolling back Obamacare’s contraception rule and defunding doctors who perform abortions.
“This is a perpetual problem and at some point a president of the United States is going to have to look at the court and tell that court to pound sand when it is stepping over the ability of the American people to govern ourselves,” Roy said. “The president has the basic constitutional duty to secure the border of the United States and it’s absurd that we’re bowing down to the whims of judges and allowing that to create our policy so that now people are dying and getting harmed because we can’t actually do our job to secure the border.”

A 32-year-old disabled woman in King County, Washington, was the ultimate victim of both weak-on-crime policies of local officials and sanctuary city status. The woman, of White Center, Washington, whose name remains unpublished, was raped by Francisco Carranza-Ramirez, 35, a citizen of Mexico, last fall. He served only nine months in prison. Last Thursday, he was released from prison without local law enforcement notifying ICE, and he allegedly went straight to the victim’s home, dumped her out of her wheelchair, and assaulted her in front of her three-year-old son.
Carranza-Ramirez was arrested September 26 for raping the wheelchair-bound woman in her home. He pleaded guilty at an arraignment in February, but because he was only charged with third-degree rape, as part of the deal, King County Superior Court Judge Nicole Gaines-Phelps sentenced him to time served, allowing him to be released the same day he was sentenced, on June 13, after just nine months in prison. His lawyer convinced the judge to release him without any probation.
Here is the twist. Typically, lawyers for illegal aliens try to cover their immigration status so they are not deported. In this case, the lawyers openly used his immigration status to avoid probation supervision upon release. His lawyer suggested that because he was homeless in King County and planned to board the next flight to Mexico, there was no need for further involvement in the American justice system. Having it both ways, the judge granted him full release on condition he register as a sex offender and provide proof that he left the country by June 25. Thus, the entire leniency was predicated on him being a Mexican citizen, but at the same time, neither the judge, the prosecutor, nor any local law enforcement notified ICE that this man was released.
Sanctuary city officials often contend that they have no interest in performing immigration work, yet in order to release this man without any supervision, the judge actually engaged in her own “self-deport” deal without getting ICE involved.
The result? Carranza-Ramirez didn’t fly to Mexico. He violated the protection order by coming within 1,000 feet of the victim just two days later on June 15. The next day, King County sheriff’s detectives say, he came to the victim’s home, knocked her out of her wheelchair, and attempted to strangle her in front of her three-year-old son. Sheriff’s deputies found her Sunday night on the ground with cuts and bruises and her wheelchair overturned. She was treated in a local hospital for a seizure and concussion and then released to a hiding place.
This could easily have been avoided had he been transferred to ICE or had ICE at least been notified of his release. Bryan Wilcox, acting field office director for Seattle’s ICE office, confirmed with KOMO that Ramirez “has committed a crime that would make him eligible for removal from the United States.” Now he remains a fugitive, and there is an arrest warrant out charging him with assault, felony harassment, intimidating a witness, and felony violation of a sex assault protection order.
To begin with, even putting immigration status aside, this is yet another example of how, despite all the talk of “over-sentencing” in the justice system, there are far more examples of under-sentencing, even for the most violent criminals. Here is an account of what happened last year, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer:
Carranza-Ramirez first talked to the woman on Sept. 24, 2018. He allegedly approached her, talked to her but then she said she had to pick up her 2-year-old son and go to dinner.
He met the two later at the restaurant where she felt uncomfortable throughout the dinner, probable cause documents said. He offered to give the two a ride home as they lived close and she accepted. When they got home, he walked into the apartment with her with no invitation.
She told police he started touching her, telling her inappropriate and uncomfortable things like “I want to feel you.” She said she was scared of him, too scared to do anything when he carried her out of her wheelchair and allegedly raped her in her bedroom, documents said. He left afterward and she said she called 911, but hung up, feeling too scared.
Two days later, he entered her apartment again after walking her and her son back from the mailbox. She said he pushed her wheelchair to the bedroom where he raped her. She told him to stop repeatedly, until she convinced him she had to go to the bathroom. She called 911, but halfway through the call heard him move and put the phone down. The operator reportedly heard the woman saying “stop” and “I’ll be quiet.”
When deputies arrived, the woman was able to get away from Carranza-Ramirez, and deputies arrested him in the bedroom.
It is unconscionable that this man was sentenced to time served without any supervised release, but it clearly happens all too often, especially in “sanctuary-minded” jurisdictions that believe in “criminal justice reform.”
Then there is the egregious horror that a criminal alien was able to terrorize this woman multiple times, yet was never turned over to ICE.Last year, the King County Council adopted a policy of refusing to notify ICE or hold criminal aliens to be detained.
Moreover, in May, Governor Jay Inslee signed a law barring localities from even inquiring about immigration status. This is the single most important piece of information upon arrest, much more that someone’s race, because it makes all the difference of whether that person can be released to victimize more people or be returned to their home countries. Again, the state officials are having it both ways. If they want to “see no evil, hear no evil”about immigration status, that is fine. ICE has the ability to monitor the arrest records and inform local law enforcement with incontrovertible evidence that the person in custody is here illegally. But then they want to release them without informing ICE, even after ICE already confirmed the status.
Thus, states like Washington are not just washing their hands of immigration enforcement, they are actively harboring federal criminals.
On Monday, ICE released a mini-list of some recent egregious cases of violent criminals being released in Oregon and Washington thanks to sanctuary policies. In April, an illegal alien from Mexico was arrested in Oregon for raping a dog that later had to be euthanized. He was released two months prior to the incident, against an ICE detainer request. Oregon is currently considering a bill to grant illegal aliens driver’s licenses.
To date, Congress has declined to pass any legislation fixing the sanctuary city problem. With millions of criminal aliens remaining in the country, many of them harbored by sanctuary cities, that is the ultimate humanitarian crisis for the American people, yet Congress only sees humanitarian concerns about those they have not sworn an oath to protect.
Speaking for so many nameless victims in this country who don’t have international lawyers or Kim Kardashian in their court, this victim told KIRO, “I feel like the police did their job but the rest of the criminal justice system thoroughly let me down.”

Angel Families on Capitol Hill WASHINGTON, DC – JUNE 15: Senate Intelligence Committee member Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) (R) leaves a closed-door committee meeting with Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats in the Hart Senate Office Building June 15, 2017 in Washington, DC. According to committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC), …
Angel Mom Maureen Maloney, the vice president of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime (AVIAC), says Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA)’s staff threatened to call Capitol Police when Angel Families visited her Senate office in Washington, DC, this month.
Maloney — whose 23 years-old son, Matthew Denice, was killed in August 2011 by an illegal alien who ran over him while drunk driving without a license — told SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight that the staff of Democrat 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris threatened to call Capitol Police when Angel Families visited the offices of prominent House and Senate Democrats to discuss illegal alien crime.
Meanwhile, Maloney told Breitbart News Senior Editors-at-Large Rebecca Mansour and Joel Pollak that Harris makes it known that illegal aliens are welcome in her office.
“So we went past her office about two weeks ago, we were in D.C. to see … Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer, and Kamala Harris, in front of her office, has a big welcome sign in Spanish that says ‘Dreamers Are Welcome,’” Maloney said.
MANSOUR: Were you welcome?
MALONEY: No, in fact, two of the people I was with, they threatened to call Capitol Police on them if they didn’t leave.
MANSOUR: Kamala Harris’ staff threatened to call the police on you?
MALONEY: Yes.
Listen to Maloney’s full interview here:
In her 2020 presidential campaign kickoff speech in Oakland, California, Harris portrayed herself as an advocate for crime victims and thanked illegal aliens for visiting lawmakers in Washington, D.C.
You see, in our system of justice, we believe that harm against any one of us is harm against all of us. That’s why when we file a case, it’s not filed in the name of the victim. It reads, “The People.” This is a point I have often explained to console and counsel survivors of crime, people who faced great harm. Often at the hands of someone they trust – be it a relative or a bank or a big corporation. I would remind them. You are not invisible. We all stand together. [Emphasis added]
…
During the health care fight, I saw parents and children with grave illnesses walk the halls of the United States Congress, families who had traveled across the country at incredible sacrifice. They came to our nation’s capital believing that if their stories were heard, and if they were seen, their leaders would do the right thing. I saw the same thing with our Dreamers. They came by the thousands. By plane, train, and automobile. I’m sure they were sleeping ten-deep on someone’s living room floor. [Emphasis added]
Maloney said it is illegal aliens who have the upper hand against their American victims, not only when it comes to trying to speak with lawmakers, but also in the court system.
“Illegal aliens are treated with such leniency compared to American citizens. It’s really sickening what goes on in the courts,”Maloney said.
Harris and other elected Democrat lawmakers are “absolutely not” working on behalf of illegal alien crime victims, Maloney said, noting that she and other Angel Families have been unable to meet with Democrats about the immigration issue for years.
“My senators up here, Sen. Markey and Sen. Warren, I’ve tried for years to get an appointment to meet with them. They’re unable to meet with people here in Massachusetts and down in Washington,” Maloney said. “When I’ve been down in Washington to meet with Democrat leaders, they’re not available. Members of AVIAC have been trying to meet with Nancy Pelosi as long as we’ve been in existence and they’ve made public pleas to meet with her and she won’t meet with any of us.”
“No, I don’t feel that the Democrats are representing my family at all,” Maloney said.

Twitter says they shouldn’t be called illegal aliens: The Border Patrol discovers 25 residents of Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras huddled inside a trailer July 25 at the border checkpoint in Falfurrias, Texas. (Photo: Border Patrol/Polaris/Newscom)
Twitter rejected four tweets from a Washington-based immigration research center’s advertising campaign as “hate speech” Tuesday because they used the legal terms “illegal alien” and “criminal alien.”
The rejected tweets by the Center for Immigration Studies, proposed for its Twitter Ads campaign to attract more followers, generally provided a statistic or factual statement and pressed for an immigration-related policy.
One tweet included a video from The Daily Caller news organization depicting immigrants illegally crossing the border and said the video “reminds us why we need a wall” and “the best defense is always to prevent individuals from entering in the first place.”
Another rejected tweet from the Center for Immigration Studies referred to a news story about arrests made by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and provided a statistic:
In a press release Wednesday, the immigration research group said Twitter approved “several other” tweets for the Twitter Ads campaign. When the center asked why the social media company had rejected the four tweets, it said it received this response from the company:
We’ve reviewed your tweets and confirmed that it is ineligible to participate in the Twitter Ads program at this time based on our Hateful Content policy. Violating content includes, but is not limited to, that which is hate speech or advocacy against a protected group.
The immigration center said its motive was “to promote specific tweets in order to drive traffic”to its website, not to violate Twitter’s “Hateful Content Policy.”
The term “illegal alien” is a precise term in law, Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, wrote in a recent commentary for The Daily Signal decrying politically correct language about illegal immigration such as “undocumented immigrant”:
‘Alien’—rather than ‘immigrant’—is the correct legal term, since ‘alien’ is defined in 8 U.S.C. §1101 (a)(3) as ‘any person not a citizen or national of the United States.’
Precision in the law is a vital principle, since the exact words used in statutes, regulations, contracts, guidance documents, and policy statements can significantly affect how they are applied and interpreted.
Twitter did not respond to The Daily Signal’s request for comment.
Marguerite Telford, communications director at the Center for Immigration Studies, said in the group’s release:
Organizations of all kinds pay Twitter to promote specific tweets in order to drive traffic to an organization’s website. Twitter advertises that the ads ‘can get you more likes, amplify your message, and get more people talking about the things that matter to you most – your cause, project, business, or brand.’ This is exactly why the center selected these specific tweets to be placed as ads.
At a July congressional hearing on social media filtering practices, House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte said that social media platforms need to ‘do a better job explaining how they make decisions to filter content and the rationale for why they do so.’
The Democrats are pushing a pro-illegal immigrant anti-ICE agenda into the midterms. Is this a good plan?
Every now and then, we should remind ourselves of the horrific acts that were committed by a handful of Obama’s ‘Dreamers’. We all remember Kate Steinle, but here’s a reminder of the horrific murder of Josh Wilkerson 8 years ago.
Since 18-year-old Josh Wilkerson was killed by a Belize national in 2010, Pearland resident Laura Wilkerson has campaigned for more stringent immigration laws, even appearing in a Donald Trump ad on the topic during the 2016 presidential campaign.
“In 2010, one of the illegals slaughtered my son,” Wilkerson told Pelosi. “He tortured him; he beat him; he tied him up like an animal, and he set him on fire.”
Hermilo Moralez, who was 19 at the time of the murder, is serving a life sentence after he admitted to the killing and was convicted in February 2013.
During his trial, Moralez testified that he beat Wilkerson to death at Moralez’ home after the two had an argument.
Following his arrest, Moralez was first declared unfit to stand trial and was placed in a state mental hospital for schizophrenia. He was declared competent in 2012.
Watch Laura Wilkerson confront Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) about Sanctuary Cities:
Let me be clear: This isn’t to say that every person that crosses the border illegally is going to be a vile murderer like Hermilo Moralez. But isn’t one Hermilo Moralez enough? Yet, the Dems are running ‘Open Borders’ candidates.
On Monday the Trump administration fought against the harsh criticism from former first lady Laura Bush.
Laura Bush has bashed President Trump and his administration for his “zero tolerance” policy that has led to the separation of migrant families. Sarah Huckabee Sanders theWhite House press secretary and the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen came together and blamed the past administrations and George W. Bush for initially making these immigration laws that have led to the current situation.
The law was actually signed in 2008. Trump and his administration were not the ones who created the crisis. He has inherited the problem and is the only President brave enough to fix it. Now the media is throwing out lies about the new “Border Policy” and Sarah Huckabee is not taking it lightly.
Sarah Huckabee-Sanders took the podium today and shot down the mainstream media LIES that have been spread over the weekend about immigration enforcement.
Specifically, Sarah was asked about Laura Bush’s comments calling the Trump Admin. policy “Immoral.”
Sarah did not hold back. She stood up for Pres. Trump and exposed Laura Bush as the hypocrite she truly is. (Video Below) This :40 second clip is going viral as Sarah proved once again you better be prepared if you’re going to attack President Trump.
“Frankly, this law was actually signed into effect in 2008 under (Laura Bush’s) husband’s leadership, not under this administration…”
“We’re not the ones responsible for creating this problem. We’ve inherited it,” she added. “But we’re actually the first administration stepping up and trying to fix it.”
If you missed it, Laura Bush wrote an op-ed over the weekend where she said, “I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart.”
President Trump is already being attacked by Michelle Obama all the time, now George W. Bush’s wife is trying to tear him down as well?
This just shows how much Pres. Trump is upsetting the establishment and doing what he promised to do.
In an interview with NPR last Friday, Trump’s chief of staff John Kelly described the illegal aliens pouring across our border in the most gentle manner imaginable. He said that illegal aliens aren’t “bad people,”but also “not people that would easily assimilate into the United States into our modern society.”They are, he continued, mostly rural, poor, unskilled and illiterate. “They don’t speak English,” Kelly said. “Obviously, that’s a big thing.”
Kelly violated the civic religion of treating every non-American as better than an American — a potential valedictorian, Medal of Honor winner and Nobel Prize recipient. Naturally, he was called a “racist.”
So what was the point? You’re going to be called a “racist” no matter what you say, so why not be honest: Illegals are self-entitled law-breakers and thieves, stealing jobs and government benefits meant for our own people.
Our cliche-driven media huffed and puffed about Kelly’s presumed descent from immigrants. CNN’s Don Lemon said, “But like most Americans, Kelly comes from a family of immigrants, doesn’t he?”
If you’d read “Adios, America!”Don, you’d know this is PC nonsense. As late as 1990 — a quarter-century into Teddy Kennedy’s plan to remake our nation into a Third World hellhole — half of the population traced its roots to the Americans of 1790. We’re a real country, made up of the people who created it, much like other countries.
There were Irish here at the time of our founding who fought in the Revolutionary War. I’m related to one.
CNN’s John Berman said: “(I)f I remember my high school American history — and I do — America in the midst of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century was built on immigrants.”
It’s as if nothing happened in America until 1850 — no Jamestown, no Declaration of Independence, no Constitution, no creation of a brand-new civilization out of mud.
Long before America experienced its first immigrant wave in the 19th century, this was already a wildly successful country — rich, literate and free (with one glaring exception, soon to be corrected in the only war ever fought to end slavery). We’d won a war with Great Britain, conquered the West, and invented electricity, refrigeration, suspension bridges and a democratic republic.
Twitter lit up in response to Kelly’s inoffensive remarks, with idiots pointing out that THE SAME THING WAS ONCE SAID ABOUT THE IRISH!
Yes, and the people who said it were right. Let’s not sugarcoat what wonderful immigrants the Irish were.
All immigrants have been a problem in their own way. Italian immigrants brought us organized crime, something America had never experienced before. Jewish immigrants brought us radicals, communists and anarchists, setting off bombs all over the place. Irish immigrants brought poverty and shocking levels of crime — also William Brennan and Teddy Kennedy, the two men who did more than any others to wreck our country.
In the draft riots of 1863, New York City’s Irish exploded in feral violence over the Emancipation Proclamation, fearful that they would soon have to compete with freed blacks for jobs.
The Irish ran wild, lynching blacks and burning black establishments to the ground. As described in Leslie M. Harris’ book “In the Shadow of Slavery: African Americans in New York City, 1626–1863,” the Irish rioters “made a sport of mutilating the black men’s bodies, sometimes sexually. A group of white men and boys mortally attacked black sailor William Williams — jumping on his chest, plunging a knife into him, smashing his body with stones — while a crowd of men, women and children watched.”
Luckily for the Irish, there were no ethnic activist groups leaping in to excuse their bad behavior. President Lincoln sent in federal troops to crush the savage uprising. (Hey, President Trump! Lincoln is a very popular president!)
And these were European immigrants, most of whom spoke English, contrary to the claptrap you’ve heard in reaction to Kelly’s remark this past week. Today we’re getting peasants who not only don’t speak English, they don’t even speak Spanish and are also illiterate in their own dialects.
The Irish were driven out of their country by a one-time calamity — the potato famine. This wasn’t how they always lived. Starving poverty wasn’t their culture.
Still, the Irish were — at one time — among the poorest immigrants we ever got and the slowest to assimilate. It took 120 years, by political analyst Michael Barone’s estimate. (Imagine a time when our worst immigrants were the Irish!)
And they might still be a problem if The New York Times had demanded special rights for them, the ACLU had brought lawsuits on their behalf and the Southern Poverty Law Center had screamed “racism” whenever anyone noticed their bad behavior.
Instead, no-nonsense Irish priests knocked them upside the head and told them to sober up and go home to their wives. (Back then, the Catholic Church was not about “immigrant rights”; it was about cleaning up their own bums.)
By the 1950s, the Irish were out earning other Americans. Many reformed so well that they became Republicans.
Border Patrol agents have recently reported actions of illegal border crossing at the border by mass groups of illegals migrants.
A group of 61 illegal immigrants just crossed the border by the Yuma Station near the San Luis Port of Entry in southern Arizona. The border patrol agents discovered an adult MS-13 member hiding within the group of illegal immigrants.
The group was hiding in the desert after they crossed the border on Monday when they were found. The illegals that were found consisted of a single national Mexican, 59 adult Guatemalans, and one unaccompanied Salvadoran minor. The 61 individuals captured were sent to the Yuma Station to be processed by officials.
The agents determined the person claiming to be a Salvadoran unaccompanied minor to actually be an adult. Officials identified the Salvadoran as 18-year-old Herberth Geovani Argueta-Chavez. He also admitted to being a member of Mara Salvatrucha-13 (MS-13).
Argueta-Chavez told officials “he was trying to separate from the gang.” He said he crossed the border illegally to make his way to Los Angeles, California.
Agents processed the group of 61 illegal aliens for immigration violations.
Border Patrol spokesman Justin Kallinger told Breitbart Texas that the Mexican national has been interviewed and remains under investigation. He said they are not sure if this group of 60 migrants is part of the “caravan” that is reported to be making its way from Central America to the U.S.
Kallinger noted that the Yuma Sector has seen “an uptick in larger groups,” mostly from Guatemala and Honduras.
Of those in the group of 60 migrants, more than ninety percent were unaccompanied minors or “family reunites,” he explained. The juveniles ranged in age from one-year to 17.
On April 7, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a zero-tolerance policy for people crossing the border illegally, even for the first time.
“To those who wish to challenge the Trump Administration’s commitment to public safety, national security, and the rule of law, I warn you: illegally entering this country will not be rewarded, but will instead be met with the full prosecutorial powers of the Department of Justice,” Sessions said in a written statement. “The situation at our Southwest Border is unacceptable. Congress has failed to pass effective legislation that serves the national interest—that closes dangerous loopholes and fully funds a wall along our southern border. As a result, a crisis has erupted at our Southwest Border that necessitates an escalated effort to prosecute those who choose to illegally cross our border.”
Border Patrol agents are reporting illegal border crossings by large groups of migrants. On Tuesday, agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector reported two large groups that crossed near Hidalgo, Texas, in a two-day period. The agents arrested 112 illegal immigrants including 14 Unaccompanied Alien Children. Most of the balance of the group where Family Unit Aliens from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
In response to the massive increase in illegal border crossings, President Donald Trump called for the deployment of up to 4,000 National Guard troops. Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona have all responded to the president’s request by committing to send nearly 2,000 guardsmen to the southern border.
“You need to understand that there is a mathematical need for this because the people coming across the border have increased dramatically,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott said on Fox and Friends Monday morning, “more than 200 percent month on month in the month of March, of what it was the year before.”

A second state is suing the Trump administration to stop the government from including a citizenship question in the 2020 Census. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, D, announced Tuesday he would lead a multistate lawsuit to stop the change, arguing that asking about citizenship in the census would discourage immigrants from participating.
“The Trump Administration’s reckless decision to suddenly abandon nearly 70 years of practice by demanding to know the citizenship status of each resident counted … will create an environment of fear and distrust in immigrant communities that would make impossible both an accurate Census and the fair distribution of federal tax dollars,” Schneiderman said in a statement.
The U.S. Commerce Department announced Monday that the citizenship question would be included, fulfilling a request by the Department of Justice for better enforcement of the Voting Rights Act, which protects minority voting rights. Mainstream media organizations ABC and NBC claimed that the last time the census asked participants about U.S. citizenship was in 1950. But the question was asked as recently as 2000 and was also asked in 1990 and 1980.
New York joins California in opposition to the citizenship question. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, D, blasted the return to an old policy as anti-immigrant.
“This request is an extraordinary attempt by the Trump administration to hijack the 2020 census for political purposes,” Becerra wrote in an op-ed with California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, D. “Since the first day of his presidential campaign and through his first year in office, President Trump has targeted immigrants: vilifying them and attempting to exclude them from the country.”
Democrats in California and New York benefit politically from the status quo. Seats in the House of Representatives are apportioned to states by total population. The states with the biggest illegal immigrant populations benefit by having extra seats in the House, reflecting the populations of their districts, even though American political representation is reserved for citizenship and illegal immigrants cannot vote in federal elections. California would lose five seats in the House and New York would lose one were the census to stop counting illegal immigrants or differentiate them from citizens.
The leftist attorneys general of California and New York are not suing the Trump administration to protect immigrant interests. They are cynically protecting the distortion of representation of American citizens in Congress in order to protect the size of the Democratic conference in the House of Representatives.
Editor’s note: This article has been updated to correct the years that a citizenship question was on the census. CR regrets the error.

Does anyone know why President Trump loves “Dreamers” — i.e.: illegal aliens allegedly brought here before the age of 12 (which no federal judge will ever check) by their parents (which no federal judge will ever check), “through no fault of their own” (which no federal judge will ever check)?
We’ve been lectured by Mark Zuckerberg about how much better “Dreamers” are than you lazy Americans — especially African-Americans, whose jobs are disproportionately taken by illegals. (As former Mexican President Vicente Fox once charmingly put it, illegal immigrants “are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States.”)
So why aren’t we being bombarded with television interviews and profiles of these amazing human beings?
Liberals can’t make an argument without producing a victim. Attack the media — they bleat about journalists getting shot in the face while reporting abroad. Complain about FBI corruption — they choke up over G-men putting their lives on the line EVERY DAY! Denounce the Deep State — they moan that CIA officers have been killed in the line of duty.
Isn’t this the moment for our hearts to be breaking over the millions of wonderful “Dreamers” who will suffer unless we amnesty them immediately?
Let’s see ’em! Surely they’ve got a few Einsteins! After all, the media are capable of turning a gang-admiring thug who forcibly robbed a convenience store and assaulted a cop into “Gentle giant, Mike Brown.” They turned jewelry-stealing juvenile delinquent Trayvon Martin into an altar boy.
But even MSNBC dare not show us Trump’s beloved “Dreamers.” The snarling Muslim showcased by the Democrats at their 2016 convention has gotten more airtime than any “Dreamer.”
There are plenty of vague descriptions of “Dreamers,” all of whom seem to be valedictorians. But can anyone identify precisely what they have contributed to our country — other than lots of police work, welfare and protests? The best “Dreamers” always sound like the “honor student” in Tom Wolfe’s Bonfire of the Vanities: “somebody who attends class, isn’t disruptive, tries to learn, and does all right at reading and arithmetic.”
How about MSNBC interview five new “Dreamers” every night? Five non-hateful ones are probably the most they could get.
As long as Trump is going to keep babbling about these “absolutely incredible kids” — “I love these kids!” — and obstinately refuse to deport them, he must have met thousands of them. He plans to amnesty millions. Why doesn’t Trump showcase his favorite two dozen “Dreamers”? Let the rest of us decide how “incredible” they are.
But no Glamour magazine profiles, please! We want to know everything, e.g.:
> How much have they cost the taxpayers in free school lunches and medical care?
> How many anchor babies have they had?
> What percentage have been convicted of a felony or killed someone in a drunk driving accident?
> How many have been admitted to college by taking affirmative action spots intended for the descendants of American slaves?
In 2009, The New York Times’ Lawrence Downes gushed over illegal alien Benita Veliz. Three years later, liberals still hadn’t come up with a better one: In 2012, she was the featured illegal alien at the Democratic National Convention. (It only seems like the Democrats have an illegal alien speak at all their conventions. Veliz was the first.)
Downes ticked off Veliz’s “impressive” accomplishments: “She was valedictorian at Jefferson High School” — naturally! — “graduating at age 16. She went to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio on a full scholarship.” (A scholarship, I note, that otherwise might have gone to a yucky American.)
I gather Veliz is the left’s designated baby seal of “Dreamers.”
Veliz is probably a nice lady, but she was valedictorian at a school that Downes would never send his kids to. Jefferson High School is 98 percent minority, less than half the students are “English proficient,” and only 16 percent are ready for college.
HOW DID AMERICA EVER GET BY WITHOUT HER?
Or to use Downes’ more-relaxed standard: “How will this country be a better place once we force Benita Veliz to leave it?” Off the top of my head: There would be less strain on education budgets, hospital emergency rooms, roads and bridges, and that college scholarship Veliz got would be open to an American kid.
This is a country built by Western Europeans. Immigrants arrived after it was already set up and running well. The idea that any immigrant who hasn’t committed a felony is someone we can’t live without is absurd.
If you’re a yuppie in a rich white area and don’t like cleaning your toilets, the Trump administration has been great for you. But if you’re a Trump voter, you’re scratching your head wondering what happened to those campaign promises that set him apart from every other Republican.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham blasted the IRS for turning a blind eye to 1.3 million cases of identity theft by illegal aliens, saying Monday night on “The Ingraham Angle” that this “mind-boggling” behavior “goes through right to the heart of the lawlessness” deeply entrenched within the federal government.
CNS News reported last week that the IRS fielded 1.3 million cases between 2011 and 2016 in which illegal immigrants received Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN), “which are only given to people who are ineligible to work in the United States or receive Social Security numbers.”
After analyzing the data from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), CNS News discovered another 1.2 million cases in 2017 in which illegal immigrants filed tax returns with fabricated or stolen Social Security numbers.
“However, in response to inquiries from CNSNews.com, the IRS could not say if it had referred even one of these cases for criminal prosecution,” CNS News found.
“If you or I cross the IRS, we’re toast, let’s face it,” Ingraham said. “But illegal immigrants can steal IDs and then file for — and get — payments for child tax credits fraudulently and never get prosecuted. This goes through right to the heart of the lawlessness theme that we’re going to be hitting all week long on ‘The Ingraham Angle.’”
The TIGTA report was entitled “Most Employment Identity Theft Victims Have Not Been Notified That Their Identities Are Being Used by Others for Employment.” The report noted that “employment identity theft can cause a significant burden to innocent taxpayers, including the incorrect computation of taxes based on income that does not belong to them.”
IRS: Tax scams getting more high-tech
And yet the IRS could not say whether any of the cases had been prosecuted, asCNS News found.
“This case of illegal aliens’ filing tax returns with fake numbers, getting refunds with fake information, robbing the U.S. government of tax dollars, is mind-boggling. Yet it’s happening without any prosecution,” Ingraham said.
“The bottom line is there’s document fraud. There is mail fraud. There’s probably wire fraud. This is all fraudulent, and the IRS looks the other way. And I think a lot of it is politics,” she said.
Ingraham blamed Democrats, in particular, for exhibiting what “seems to be this embrace of conflicts of interest, unethical behavior, rank bias, lawlessness — if it helps their political agenda.” This is why “nobody trusts the government today,”Ingraham added.
Joseph Banister (pictured above), a former IRS investigator with his own history of tax controversies, told Ingraham that the IRS “is the original ‘deep state’ operation.”
“They just don’t follow the law. The American people have no idea how much fraud and corruption goes on inside the agency,” Banister said. “I’ve got my wading boots ready for President [Donald] Trump to volunteer and go into the deepest, muckiest part of the swamp, and that’s the IRS.”
Gloating leftists are sharing this story for a much different reason than we are.
This verdict will be appealed, of course.
The illegal immigrants who were impacted by his policy, have ironically said they will feel vindicated when they see this Sheriff’s mugshot. People who are ILLEGAL aliens are insisting that the court order should be OBEYED by the Sheriff. That’s pretty rich. These illegal aliens refuse to comply with our laws, and that’s supposed to be ‘perfectly fine’. But somehow, THEY want the law to intervene against the Sheriff, for having applied the law to illegal aliens.
Dizzy yet?
Former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio was found guilty on Monday of criminal contempt for defying a judge’s court order to stop traffic patrols that targeted immigrants.
Arpaio, 85, was charged with misdemeanor contempt of court, declaring that he willfully defied a judge’s order in 2011 and prolonged his patrols for another 17 months, Fox 10 Phoenix reported.
…Arpaio’s lawyers said they would appeal the verdict, contending their client’s legal fate should have been decided by a jury, not a judge. They also said U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton violated Arpaio’s rights by not reading the decision in court.
“Her verdict is contrary to what every single witness testified in the case,” his lawyers said in a statement. “Arpaio believes that a jury would have found in his favor, and that it will.” –FOX
You may remember when this same Sheriff fought against Obama’s Executive Orders concerning Immigration. We love that he was committed to enforcing the law, despite how our prissy 44th President overreached his authority.
The attorney representing Maricopa County’s controversy-prone Sheriff Joe Arpaio urged the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to reverse a district judge’s December ruling and allow the case to proceed. Arpaio, known for his feisty, public battle against illegal immigration, is looking to reverse President Barack Obama’s executive orders allowing illegal immigrants who came as children to the U.S. or undocumented parents of legal residents to stay in the U.S.
Attorney Larry Klayman urged the three-judge panel Monday not to consider the case as a political dispute, but rather one about “whether the law is being enforced or not”— which both conservatives and liberal should support, he said. —CNN

A phalanx of immigration judges will be temporarily re-assigned to 12 U.S. cities to help speed deportations of illegal aliens, the U.S. Department of Justice confirmed on Friday. The full plan of the reassignments is still in the works, and the DOJ is looking for volunteers among immigration judges before going forward, according to Reuters.
Cities the DOJ want to staff up includes New York; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; San Francisco; Baltimore, Bloomington, Minnesota; El Paso, Texas; Harlingen, Texas; Imperial, California; Omaha, Nebraska, and Phoenix, Arizona, the news service says.
This isn’t the first move to beef up immigration judge staff. Early in March the Trump administration also began sending judges to immigrant detention centers to speed up services.
The initial plan came on the heels of a Department of Homeland Security memo that requested the Trump administration allow federal immigration courts to use “expedited deportation proceedings” for any illegal immigrants living in the U.S. for two years or less. The process is currently limited to those only living in the U.S. for up to two weeks.
According to data provided by the Justice Department’s Executive Office of Immigration Review, there are up to 18,013 pending immigration cases in the cities targeted by the DOJ plan. The plan serves as another plank in President Trump’s promise to step up the deportations that ground to a halt during the last years of the Obama administration. It also marks a shift from Obama’s practice of deporting only illegals convicted of serious crimes — and even many of those were never deported.
Critics of the plan claim that “reshuffling” the judges will only cause a backlog at the courts that lost one of their judges.

The number of illegal immigrants crossing into the United States from Mexico declined by 40 percent from January to February, Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said on Wednesday.
The downturn came after President Donald Trump took office on Jan. 20 vowing to deport many of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States.
The flow of illegal border crossings as measured by apprehensions and the prevention of inadmissible persons at the southern border dropped to 18,762 persons in February from 31,578 in January, Kelly said in a statement.
He said the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, which compiled the data, historically sees a 10 percent to 20 percent increase in apprehensions of illegal immigrants from January to February.
On Jan. 25, Trump ordered the construction of a wall along the roughly 2,000-mile (3,200-km) U.S.-Mexico border, moved to strip federal funding from “sanctuary” states and cities that harbor illegal immigrants, and expanded the force of U.S. immigration agents.
“Since the administration’s implementation of Executive Orders to enforce immigration laws, apprehensions and inadmissible activity is trending toward the lowest monthly total in at least the last five years,” Kelly said.
Supporters of illegal immigration are working overtime on social media trying to get information out there on how those caught up in raids should respond. This is absolutely ridiculous. Agents are doing their jobs and following the law!
If Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents show up at the door, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) advises not opening it unless the agents can show a warrant signed by a judge.
ICE administrative warrants don’t allow agents to enter a home without the consent of the residents. Residents can ask through the door why the agents are there and request an interpreter if they need one.
If there is no warrant, ask the agents to leave information outside.
For years, liberal Democrats have been bending over backwards to give illegal aliens all of the comforts, benefits and rights held by American citizens, and more. This drastically escalated under the administration of Barack Obama. Obama violated the US Constitution and federal immigration laws in his attempt to win the illegal votes of millions of illegal aliens. He ordered the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to stop enforcing many of the federal immigration laws.

Under his administration, tens of thousands of illegals with felony convictions were released by law enforcement agencies and jails, allowing them to continue to walk our streets and victimize more American citizens.
Image added by WhatDidYouSay.org
Under his administration, millions of illegals were allowed to remain in the US and obtain work permits (green cards), allowing them to take jobs away from millions of Americans. I’ve heard the arguments that say this isn’t true, but I know of Americans who once worked in construction that could not find a job because so many builders and contractors were using illegals who worked for less. When Alabama passed strict immigration laws which included stiff fines for any employer found to be hiring illegals, the unemployment rate in the state fell by 1.1% in the first two months the laws went into effect. After the border patrol raided a restaurant in town, a week later they had a staff of Americans.

Under the Obama administration, millions of illegals were allowed to obtain valid state driver’s licenses which enabled them to vote illegally in states like California and Oregon. This is most likely why at least one organization says they have evidence that over 3 million votes were cast by non-citizens in the November election. Many of those illegal votes were cast by illegal aliens.
Friends and families back in Arizona have told me that many of the small hospitals and urgent care centers in southern Arizona have been forced to close because of the

number of illegal aliens they have to treat. The federal government requires them to give free medical care to illegals, but many smaller facilities could no longer afford to keep giving free care so they’ve closed their doors. One friend told me that he and his family now have to drive over 100 miles to another larger town for emergency care because their local hospital closed. His wife’s father died in route to the hospital because it was so far away. He had a medical emergency but with no local hospital, it took nearly two hours to transport him to the nearest hospital over 100 miles away. By the time he arrived, it was too late to save him. My friend and his wife’s family blame illegals, liberal Democrats and the Obama administration for his death.
Some states along the southern border, including Arizona, are being forced to pay out millions of taxpayer dollars to illegals for free education, medical, unemployment and other benefits, some of which American citizens don’t get or have to pay for, like medical care.
I’ve also seen firsthand how illegals move into a neighborhood and turn it into a crime infested cesspool. That happened to the once family friendly neighborhood I lived in. When I returned and drove by the old house, it looked like some of the slums I’ve seen in Mexico.
Image added by WhatDidYouSay.org
Now, liberal Democratic politicians in California are introducing legislation that will extend more benefits to illegals. Among these pieces of legislation is Senate Bill 6, which will provide free (taxpayer funded) legal representation to all illegals in need of legal help. Federal law prohibits any government, local, state or federal, from paying for free legal representation for illegals concerning immigration matters.
Liberal supporters of SB 6 cite the US Constitution’s guarantee of legal representation in the event of being charged with a crime. What they fail to realize is that the Constitution applies to American citizens plus federal law is meant to protect American citizens from foreigners including illegals.

Liberal Democrats won’t stop until they give everything we own and work for to illegals just for the sake of their illegal votes. What we need are laws to protect American citizens from being forced to fund any and all benefits being extended to illegal aliens. The only right an illegal has in the US is the right to be detained and either locked up or deported, and nothing more. I work hard for my money and it galls me to know that my hard-earned tax dollars are spent on benefits for illegals that I, as an American citizen, have to pay for myself. Maybe we need to pass laws to ban illegal loving liberals?
Under Obama, two controversial amnesty programs were set up, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans). To enter the the two programs, the 1.4 million illegals had to hand over their identities, home addresses, and admit to being in the United States illegally, therefore creating a list of illegal immigrants in the country. Now those same immigrants are fleeing for the border.
“I was surprised anyone would be stupid enough to sign up for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans). Yet apparently hundreds of thousands of people did so anyway,”said John Miano of the Center for Immigration Studies.
He said in a blog post that the programs are dead under a Trump administration and those who signed up “created a list of prime candidates for deportation with names, addresses, and an admission of illegal alien status.”
Secrets has already received reports that illegals are already starting to leave the country. One source said that some in Virginia left for the border on Wednesday, the day Donald Trump was declared the winner.
The IRS, of all government agencies, has to be the most hated. So with this new report coming out, it certainly makes it the #1 disliked.
The IRS has discovered more than 1 million Americanswhose Social Security numbers were stolen by illegal immigrants, but officials never bothered to tell the taxpayers themselves, the agency’s inspector general said in a withering new report released Tuesday.
Investigators first alerted the IRS to the problem five years ago, but it’s still not fixed, the inspector general said, and a pilot program meant to test a solution was canceled — and fell woefully short anyway. As a result, most taxpayers don’t learn that their identities have been stolen and their Social Security files may be screwed up.
“Taxpayers identified as victims of employment-related identity theft are not notified,”the inspector general said.
The report alarmed lawmakers on Capitol Hill, who were shocked that the IRS had gone for so long without fixing the issue.
“It is stunning that the IRS has chosen to aid and abet identity thieves for so long instead of protecting the innocent victims of the theft,”said Sen. Daniel Coats, Indiana Republican.
Victims’ numbers are stolen by illegal immigrants who need to give employers a valid Social Security number in order to get a job. Employers are prohibited from probing too deeply into numbers, even when they suspect fraud. But the IRS learns of the scam when the illegal immigrants file their taxes using a special Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) the agency doles out chiefly to illegal immigrants as a way of making sure they’re paying taxes even if they’re not supposed to be in the U.S. Between 2011 and 2015 the agency flagged nearly 1.1 million returns where someone appeared to have stolen a valid Social Security number, the inspector general said.
The IRS did not have any new comment on the findings, instead referring reporters to an official response filed with the inspector general, in which the agency insisted it’s making progress.
Karen Schiller, commissioner for the IRS‘ small business and self-employed division, said the 2014 pilot program was helpful, even if it didn’t completely solve the notification problem, and said the agency will tryto alert all taxpayers beginning next year.
“As we continue to battle and make progress against all strains of identity theft in the tax ecosystem, we recognized that we were missing an important partner in this effort — the taxpaying public,” said Ms. Schiller, who had the task of answering the inspector general.
She also vowed to figure out a system to let the Social Security Administration (SSA) know if someone’s number has been stolen.
The Obama administration and other liberal Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, keep telling us that America needs to open its borders to the millions of poor and refugees. They claim that we should be giving them the same opportunities that our ancestors were given when they came to America. Obama says that we should allow tens of thousands of political Muslim refugees into the country as well.
But can American taxpayers – you and me – afford to take in millions more of the poor and refugees?
Last year, I reported that based on 2009 figures, it’s costing US taxpayers $83.8 billion a YEAR just to cover all of the costs incurred by illegal aliens already here.
Now consider the fact that the yearly cost to Ohio taxpayers in 2009 was $563 million for 110,000 illegals, amounting to $5,119 per illegal. A 2012 report placed the annual cost for illegals in Ohio at $879 million. That’s an increase of $316 million (56%) in just 2 years under the Obama administration’s failure to enforce federal immigration laws. Those costs include $364 million for K-12 public education, $84 million for medical services (which you and I don’t receive), $81 for welfare, $79 for law enforcement incurred due to illegals, and $32 million for prison costs for the nearly 800 illegals in prison. It’s likely that the annual cost to Ohio taxpayers in 2016 to cover all of the expenses incurred by Obama’s illegals will easily exceed $1 billion. Considering the population of Ohio in 2015 was 11.6 million people, that’s $86 per man, woman and child. An average household of 4 are on the hook for $344 a year to pay for illegals.
In Texas, the yearly cost to taxpayers in 2009 was $6.878 billion for 1,810,000 illegal aliens, amounting to $4,905 per illegal. A newer report states that in 2013, it cost Texas taxpayers $12.1 billion a year to cover the costs of illegals. The same report stated that breaks down to ‘more than $1,197 for every Texas household headed by a native-born or naturalized U.S. citizen.’ How many Texans are aware that they are paying this much each year because of Obama allowing millions of illegals to remain in the US?
In California, the yearly cost to taxpayers in 2009 was $21.755 billion for 2,635,000 illegal aliens, amounting to $8,256 per illegal. The number of illegals in California climbed to over 3 million in 2014 for total taxpayer cost $25.3 billion a year which breaks down to around $2,370 a year for every household headed by a US citizen. That’s nearly $200 per month for illegals. How many Californians are aware that they are being billed $200 a month just to cover the costs of Obama’s illegals?
In New York, the yearly cost to taxpayers in 2009 was $9.479 billion for 750,000 illegal aliens, amounting to $12,638 per illegal.
The same organization that compiled the figures in the chart above, revised them for 2013, stating that the annual cost to US taxpayers was up to $113 billion, or annual increase of 9.73%. That breaks down to $29 billion in federal costs and $84 billion in state and local costs. They also stated:
“The annual outlay that illegal aliens cost U.S. taxpayers is an average amount per native-headed household of $1,117.”
Consider that when you file your federal, state and local taxes each year.
Based upon a 9.73% annual increase in cost for illegals, that would mean for 2016, the cost for illegals would be around $149 billion or $1,476 per native-headed household.
After saying all this, imagine how much it would cost US taxpayers to open our borders to millions more of the world’s poor and political refugees? According to one website:
“Nearly 1/2 of the world’s population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day.
1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty.”
Face it, my heart goes out to these people but there is no way that US taxpayers can pay to take in even 10% of those living in poverty. We are already taxed out and our nation is on the verge of bankruptcy with a national debt of $19.3 trillion. This breaks down to $59,564 per every US citizen. Very few of us can afford to sit down and write a check to the US Treasury for $60,000 per person. Consider a household of 4, their part of the national debt comes to a whopping $238,256. The last thing we need is to be adding any more financial burden on the already breaking backs of American citizens.
Until our federal, state and local governments get their financial houses in order and learn to live within their means, American needs to enforce our immigration laws and stop the flow of illegals and refugees into our country. Additionally, I believe we need to deport most, if not all, of the illegals already here. They came here illegally and are draining our resources. Just think of the difference it would make to local, state and federal budgets if they were not having to pay out the money listed above to cover the costs of illegals?
The only solution is the shut down our borders stop bringing in the world’s poor and refugees.
I have and still advocate that we use our military construction units to build a wall along the entire 1,950 miles of southern border and then station our military personnel to protect our border instead of protecting borders in the Middle East. America needs to come first!
Immigration, like many other issues is a complex problem (we are told). The solutions must be similarly complex, we are told by the same people. Or is there an easier way? Well, it looks like Indiana might have found one, and honestly, it’s one that the feds (of either party) should have figured out a long time ago.
Really? Yes. Especially considering the Executive Order last September encouraging greater reliance on behavioural science to coerce — sorry, “serve” — the doe-eyed American public by having said public adopt such behaviours as government officials have decreed are in their best interests.
Seeing the government’s love for the behavioural sciences, some effort might have gone into seeing whether they had anything to offer in solving this immigration issue.
You know, maybe look at what drives large groups of people to hop a fence (or, perhaps the empty space where legislation said a fence should have been), and come to America. Why is it only the Southern border that crowds keep crossing? Why to America from Mexico, and not to Central America? Such questions lead to insights and answers. So they are not asked.
Motivation matters in determining behaviour. If you work with behavioural consultants (as I have) you know this. In working for decades with adults with challenging behaviour, I’m quite familiar with the methods politicians are attempting to co-opt for pure political advantage.
Aside from the Machiavellian, Alinsky-ist, intentions, good ideas can be borrowed from these programs. Understanding the connection between behaviour and motivation, for example. (Which incidentally is why unpopular programs [*cough* Obamacare *cough*] rely so heavily on rewards and punishments to force general compliance.)
That cause/effect connection seems to have been grasped and applied by Indiana, as evidenced by their new Bill. Just to help you explain this connection to your pro-statist friends or family, I’ll show you a non-political application.
When I lived in Florida for 3 years, I quickly learned about ants. They have the ability to shape human behaviour. Maybe this isn’t an issue in newer buildings, or high-rises, but where we were, ants had no trouble finding their way inside.
That half- open box of cereal in your cupboard that was ‘no big deal’ up North? You can’t do that in Florida. They find it, call their buddies, and swarm it. It wouldn’t matter even if you hopelessly smashed that line of ants all day long, you will never, ever, diminish their numbers.
So does this mean everybody in Florida is plagued by ants? Nope. I quickly learned to seal food tightly. I stopped doing battle with the ants. They lost interest, and went looking for more reliable food sources. I leveraged their nature, rather than fighting it. I made what attracted them (food) inaccessible, and they sought it elsewhere.
“What does that have to do with immigration, you racist!” Calm down, this isn’t racial, it’s behavioural. In big, bold letters, what did we learn from the story? Behaviour that is rewarded is magnified, behaviour that is unrewarded is diminished.
Now let’s look at Indiana. Their new bill is aimed at employers. If an employer is found to have knowingly hired an illegal alien (already an illegal act) it will, on the third offence, be subject to having their business licence stripped.
It’s brilliant, and simple. It doesn’t deport anybody. It doesn’t target the illegal immigrants. It focuses on the workplace. Suddenly the employers face the real risk. You can’t dismiss the threat of fines as a business expense. The stakes just got higher. If the business loses a licence, the owner could lose his livelihood, and any money invested in the business. Is it still worth the risk of hiring a non-qualified applicant? In many cases, no.
With fewer people hiring non-qualified applicants, will they stick around, or will they look for more lucrative options? Will they seek sanctuary cities, perhaps, or a State known for ignoring immigration laws?
Who knows? They might even go home, or (gasp!) apply to enter the legal way. Which they should have done in the first place.
There’s a cultural acceptance of child rape in Latino culture that doesn’t exist in even the most dysfunctional American ghettoes. When it comes to child rape, the whole family gets involved. (They are family-oriented!)
In a 2011 GQ magazine story about a statutory rape case in Texas, the victim’s illegal alien mother, Maria, described her own sexual abuse back in Mexico.
“She was 5, she says, when her stepfather started telling her to touch him. Hand here, mouth there. The abuse went on and on, became her childhood, really. At 12, when she finally worked up the desperate courage to report the abuse and was placed in foster care, she says her mother begged her to recant — the family needed the stepdad’s paycheck. So Maria complied. She was returned home, where her stepdad continued to molest her. When she talks about it, tears stream down her face.”
Far from “I am woman, hear me roar,” these are cultures where women help the men rape kids.
Maria dismissed the firestorm of publicity surrounding the sexual precocity of her own daughter, laughingly referring to the 11-year-old rape victim as “my wild child.” She even criticized the girl’s older sisters for complaining about the young girl’s promiscuous clothing choices, saying — of an 11-year-old: “Well, she’s got the body, so leave her alone.”
In 2013, illegal immigrant Bertha Leticia Rayo was arrested for allowing her former husband, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, to rape her 4-year-old daughter, then assisting his unsuccessful escape from the police. The rapist, Aroldo Guerra-Garcia, was also aided in his escape attempt by another woman, Krystal Galindo. (Kind of a ladies man, was Aroldo.)
That same year, the government busted up a child pornography operation in Illinois being run out of the home of three illegal aliens from Mexico, including a woman. At least one of them, Jorge Muhedano-Hernandez, had already been deported once. (Peoria Journal Star headline: “Bloomington men plead guilty to false documents.”) The Baby Hope case in New York City began when a Mexican illegal alien, Conrado Juarez, raped and murdered his 4-year-old cousin, Anjelica Castillo. His sister helped him dispose of the body. Police found the little girl’s corpse in a cooler off the Henry Hudson Parkway, but the case went unsolved for two decades, because none of the murdered girl’s extended illegal alien family ever reported her missing. Anjelica’s mother later told the police she always suspected the tiny corpse in the cooler was her daughter’s, but never told anyone.
In 2014, Isidro Garcia was arrested in Bell Gardens, California, accused of drugging and kidnapping the 15-year-old daughter of his girlfriend, then forcing the girl to marry him and bear his child. The mother had suspected Garcia, then 31 years old, had been raping her teenage daughter, but did nothing. All three were illegal aliens from Mexico, making this another case for the “Not Our Problem” file.
In 2007, Mexican illegal immigrant Luis Casarez was convicted in New Mexico for repeatedly raping a 3-year-old and an 8-year-old. During his sentencing, Casarez borrowed Marco Rubio’s talking points about hardworking illegal immigrants with roots in America. “I have been here for many years,” Casarez told the judge — incongruously, through a translator. “That’s why,” he added, “I’ve been working instead of getting involved with problems.” Other than that one thing.
Two weeks after Luis Casarez was indicted for child rape, his son, Luis Casarez Jr., was indicted in a separate case of child rape.
When the crime is this bizarre, it’s not “anecdotal.” “Child rape perpetrated by more than one family member” isn’t your run-of-the-mill crime. It’s rather like discovering dozens of cannibalism cases in specific neighborhoods.
How many fourth-generation American father-son child-rape duos do we have? How many American brother-sister teams are conspiring in child rape and murder? How many mothers are helping their boyfriends and husbands get away with raping their own children?
And how many 12-year-old American girls are giving birth — to the delight of their parents?
In some immigrant enclaves, the police have simply given up on pursuing statutory rape cases with Hispanic victims. They say that after being notified by hospital administrators that a 12-year-old has given birth and the father is in his 30s, they’ll show up at the girl’s house — and be greeted by her parents calling the pregnancy a “blessing.”
This happens all the time, they say.
And yet, in the entire American media, there have been more stories about a rape by Duke lacrosse players that didn’t happen than about the slew of child rapes by Hispanics that did because Democrats want the votes and businesses want the cheap labor. No wonder they hate Trump.
A bill introduced by D.C. lawmakers would grant some immigrants lacking U.S. citizenship the ability to vote in municipal elections. The Local Resident Voting Rights Act of 2015 would allow D.C. residents who are not U.S. citizens but meet the federal definition of having permanent residency status to cast ballots in local elections, including races for mayor and the D.C. Council as well as initiatives and charter referendums. D.C. Council member David Grosso, at-large independent, introduced the legislation Tuesday.
In a statement announcing the introduction of the bill, Mr. Grosso cited statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau that indicate the District is home to nearly 54,000 foreign-born residents who are not naturalized U.S. citizens.
“These are taxpayers who should have the opportunity to have their voices heard in local elections,”he said.
Similar bills were unsuccessfully introduced in 2013 by Mr. Grosso, and in 2004 by then-D.C. Council member Jim Graham.
Neighboring Takoma Park also allows non-U.S. citizens to vote in local elections.
We could not have a better person in office than President Obama, if you want someone to do everything

he can to destroy the country that is. This President has gone out of his way to make sure not only just a few of his Socialist policies ruin us, but that his whole time in office is dedicated to the destruction of the United States as we know it.
From supplying terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, and countless other Islamic Jihadists in N. Africa, the Mid-East, Indonesia, and Europe with billions of dollars in weapons, billions in financial aid, and actual military help, to purposely busing and flying in hundreds of thousand illegal aliens per day via Homeland Security.
We also have the countless scandals which amount to crimes perpetrated by this President. From Benghazi to the IRS situation, where Conservatives are targeted by the IRS for their voices of opposition to the Administration, we now have a Socialist Dictator in office who has declared war on any American who stands with the Constitution as the rule of law.
We now have the dirtiest most corrupt President ever to hold office, making Richard M. Nixon look like the most honest President we ever had, when comparing the two. At least Nixon loved America; Obama hates the very core of American values of which make us great.
Obama and John Kerry have done everything possible to damage beyond recognition the friendship the US has had with key allies such as Israel and Russia. Today, we stand in opposition to Israel because of Obama’s agenda to transform the Mid-East into a region completely run by terrorist organizations, labeling Israel as an oppressive state and doing everything possible short of cutting ties with them altogether.
The Benghazi cover up is clear to anyone who has been following US foreign policy. This Administration has to keep these events swept under the rug since it was the very terrorist organizations the Obama Administration is supporting who are responsible for killing Americans on that day.

Summary
In 2013, ICE freed 36,007 convicted criminal aliens from detention who were awaiting the outcome of deportation proceedings, according to a document obtained by the Center for Immigration Studies. This group included aliens convicted of hundreds of violent and serious crimes, including homicide, sexual assault, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The list of crimes also includes more than 16,000 drunk or drugged driving convictions. The vast majority of these releases from ICE custody were discretionary, not required by law (in fact, in some instances, apparently contrary to law), nor the result of local sanctuary policies.
The document reveals that the 36,007 convicted criminal aliens freed from ICE custody in many instances had multiple convictions. Among them, the 36,007 had nearly 88,000 convictions, including:
* 193 homicide convictions (including one willful killing of a public official with gun)
* 426 sexual assault convictions
* 303 kidnapping convictions
* 1,075 aggravated assault convictions
* 1,160 stolen vehicle convictions
* 9,187 dangerous drug convictions
* 16,070 drunk or drugged driving convictions
* 303 flight escape convictions
Background
This enumeration of FY 2013 criminal aliens freed and the criminal convictions tied to these individuals was prepared by ICE in response to congressional inquiries following a report published by the Center for Immigration Studies. That report, “Catch and Release” <http://cis.org/catch-and-release>, showed that ICE officers declined to bring immigration charges in 68,000 cases of criminal aliens they encountered in 2013.
It is important to recognize that the 36,007 criminal aliens counted in this document are a different set of cases from the 68,000 releases reported earlier. The 36,007 criminal aliens counted here are aliens who were being processed for deportation and were freed while awaiting the final disposition of their cases, or afterwards. The 68,000 releases were cases of alien criminals encountered by ICE officers, usually in jails, but who were let go in lieu of processing them for immigration removal charges in that year.
“Here is a thought to consider. Could the Obama Administration want these criminals on the streets so crime will INCREASE, justifying greater efforts to register, then confiscate our guns? If that happens, enslaving that unarmed citizenry with Socialist laws and tyranny is a very easy job.” JB
The 36,007 criminal aliens itemized in this document were released by means of bond; order of recognizance (unsupervised); order of supervision (which can consist of nothing more than a periodic telephone call to a designated ICE telephone number); an alternative to detention (such as an electronic ankle bracelet, or other form of tracking device); or parole (a form of legal status). The ICE document does not specify the number or type of criminal aliens released according to the form of release.
Separate information obtained by the Center for Immigration Studies reveals that the vast majority of these releases were discretionary, or even contrary to the requirements of various provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act.Only a small share of these criminal aliens (fewer than 3,000) were released in accordance with a 2001 Supreme Court decision, Zadvydas v. Davis, which prevents ICE from indefinitely detaining certain aliens whose countries will not accept them back. (See “Reining in Zadvydas v. Davis” <http://cis.org/stopping-release-of-criminal-aliens>.) Another small number may have been offered parole or legal status, either in exchange for their cooperation with ICE or another law enforcement agency in connection with a criminal prosecution, or because of another compelling public interest.
Analysis
This document raises questions about the Obama administration’s management of enforcement resources, as well as its enforcement plans and priorities. For instance, a series of directives to ICE agents and officers known as “prosecutorial discretion”, and the implementation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, have made certain broad categories of illegal aliens off-limits for enforcement. These policies have forced ICE officers in the field to avoid or cease deportation action in thousands of cases, even in cases of aliens charged with or convicted of crimes <http://cis.org/vaughan/lawsuit-documents-criminal-alien-releases-decline-enforcement-cooked-statistics>.
ICE officers have testified in federal court that some arrested aliens have claimed to be eligible for DACA knowing that they likely will be released from custody and from immigration charges without verification of their claims.ICE should be asked to disclose how many and which of the 36,007 criminal alien releases occurred due to these recent policy changes.
In addition, over the last year certain advocacy groups have called for the Obama administration to scale back the number of deportations or halt them altogether.A number of criminal aliens in detention while awaiting completion of deportation proceedings have been the subject of petition campaigns, prayer vigils, demonstrations, and other forms of protest against enforcement. Typically these protests occur on behalf of a criminal alien who has family members in the United States. ICE should be asked to disclose how many of these releases came after such appeals were made on behalf of criminal aliens.
“Fantastic. Let’s let illegal aliens protest the sovereign laws of the United States, and give into them so the Leftist, Socialist, Marxist, Communist, Liberal Left maintain their illegal voter numbers so they can continue their sinister efforts to “transform” America into a Socialist nation. Yeah. Makes a lot of sense.” JB
These figures call into question President Obama’s request to Congress for permission to reduce immigration detention capacity by 10 percentin favor of permission to make wider use of experimental alternatives to detention. These alternatives already are subject to serious questions about their efficacy and cost, and ICE’s methodology for evaluating the results needs to be carefully scrutinized. The reduced detention bed-space request, submitted as part of the executive branch’s budget plan, comes at a time in which ICE’s detention space needs are expanding due to rapidly increasing illegal arrivals along parts of the southwest border and continued high numbers of criminal aliens encountered by agents in the interior. The news that ICE released so many criminal aliens convicted of so many serious and violent crimes suggests that ICE could use more detention capacity, not less, in order to prevent further harm to the public from these individuals.ICE should be asked to track and disclose what additional crimes may have been committed by these individuals after their release.
“YOU THINK???” JB
ICE devotes very few resources to victim assistance and notification programs, and these meager efforts are focused primarily on helping victims of human trafficking rather than those who have been harmed by alien criminals. In fact, the only “ombudsman” type of position ICE has established – and maintained even in the face of specific congressional de-funding of the position – focuses on aiding illegal aliens, not their victims. ICE should establish a notification system, modeled on the most successful federal, state, or local victim-witness assistance programs, to alert the victims of alien criminals, local law enforcement agencies, and the public when violent or dangerous criminal aliens are released from its custody.
“….focuses on aiding illegal aliens, not their victims.”
The criminal aliens released in 2013 had more than 300 convictions for “flight escape,” indicating that they had a prior history of fleeing from authorities. Experience (and common sense) suggests that such individuals would be poor candidates for release while awaiting possible deportation.Studies have shown that fewer than a quarter of aliens who are released from custody <http://cis.org/justice-on-the-run> while awaiting the outcome of immigration proceedings will show up for immigration court to finish their case. The departments of Homeland Security and Justice should be asked to disclose how many of these criminal aliens became fugitives after their release from ICE custody.
“….The departments of Homeland Security and Justice should be asked to disclose how many of these criminal aliens became fugitives after their release from ICE custody.“
Conclusion
The revelation that 36,007 criminal aliens were released from ICE custody in 2013, an average of nearly 100 per day, is shocking, and could further shake public faith in the effectiveness of current immigration enforcement policies. This information is sure to raise concerns that, despite professions of a focus on removal of criminal aliens, Obama administration policies frequently have allowed political considerations to trump public safety factors and, as a result, aliens with serious criminal convictions have been allowed to return to the streets instead of being removed to their home countries.
DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson is on the verge of announcing the results of a review of deportation policies, ordered by the president in response to immigrant advocacy group protests. Most observers believe this review will result in policy changes to further expand the number and categories of illegal aliens who effectively are exempt from immigration enforcement and, if experience is a guide, will further increase the number of criminal aliens who are released instead of deported. Lawmakers and the public must insist that DHS fully disclose and be held accountable for the public safety impact of any additional deportation policy changes.
“….in response to immigrant advocacy group protests, instead of listening the vast majority of American citizens who want these people out of here.” JB
Tactical Firearms has hit on something here: a non-PC bit of humor masking some clever social commentary. Why is the Obama administration so keen on forcing everyone to register firearms, but asking people get photo IDs in order to legally vote is considered a tremendous burden for “minorities”?
“Great argument. If I were there, I would buy something from him.” JB
In any event, a lot of outrage might be whipped up around this sign (and Tactical Firearms has ahistoryof doing that), but the question is: Does it make anyone think? Because there’s a lot to unpack.
Last Sunday, the New York Times published a front-page article about the heartfelt need of California farmers for more illegal aliens.
The first tip-off that heinous public policy ideas were coming was that the Times introduced farmer Chuck Herrin, owner of a farm-labor contracting company, as a “lifelong Republican.” That’s Times-speak for “liberal.”
Herrin admitted that he employs a lot of illegal aliens and bitterly complained that they lived in fear of “Border Patrol and deportations.” (But, apparently, he doesn’t live in fear of admitting he’s violating our immigration laws.)
Sorry that running a country inconveniences you, Chuck.
He said his illegal alien employees deserved amnesty because if “we keep them here and not do anything for them once they get old, that’s really extortion.”
As the punch line goes, “What’s this ‘we,’ paleface?”
Taxpayers have been subsidizing Chuck Herrin’s underpayment of his illegal labor force for decades, with skyrocketing taxes to pay for schools, roads, bridges, food stamps, health care and so on. Now Herrin thinks “we” are supposed to support his illegal employees in their old age, too.
Here’s another idea: How about a federal law mandating that employers of illegal aliens take responsibility for the people they hire? Why is the taxpayer on the hook for illegal aliens’ food, housing and medical care, when Chuck Herrin got 100 percent of the profit from their cheap labor?
We don’t allow chemical companies to dump pollutants in rivers, walk away and then say, “If we dump chemicals in rivers and we don’t clean them once the plant is gone, that’s really criminal.”
No, you dumped the chemicals — not “we.” And you, Chuck Herrin, got the cheap labor — not “we.”
“We” got hospital emergency rooms jammed with illegal aliens when we came in with heart attacks. “We” got the crime, drunk-driving and drug trafficking associated with illegal aliens. “We” got the overcrowded schools filled with kids whose illegal alien parents don’t pay property taxes. “We” got to press “one” for English.
This is even worse than the Wall Street bailouts — another example of fat cats pocketing 100 percent of the profits when business is good, but demanding a taxpayer handout when their investments go south. At least the Wall Street bailouts didn’t alter the country forever by giving the Democrats 30 million new voters.
According to the California Hospital Association, health care for illegal aliens is costing state taxpayers well over $1 billion a year.. Eighty-four hospitals across California have already been forced to close because of unpaid bills by illegal aliens.
Last year alone, California taxpayers paid $32 million for indigents’ health care at hospitals located in Fresno County– which happens to be where Chuck Herrin’s company is based. How about submitting a portion of that cost to Herrin?
Here’s your bill for $13 million.
What’s this for?
The county hospital. You’ve been paying your employees $20 an hour, and that’s just not enough to pay for their measles and tuberculosis treatments, not to mention delivery of their premature babies. No one’s saying it’s your fault, but it’s not the county hospital’s fault either.
Not only should employers of illegal aliens be responsible for their employees’ becoming public charges, but they ought to be legally responsible for any crimes their illegal workers commit, just as parents can be for the crimes of their minor children, and bars can be for the behavior of their over-served customers.
Why should employers of illegal aliens be allowed to externalize their costs, while keeping 100 percent of the profits?
The very fact that the American taxpayer is required to subsidize illegal alien farm labor — to say nothing of anti-competitive marketing orders, tariffs and subsidies given to farmers — proves that we’re propping up an industry the country doesn’t need.
If Mexican farm labor is so much cheaper, maybe we should be growing our fruits and vegetables in Mexico. There’s absolutely no reason to import Mexicans to do something they could do at home and then sell to us. I believe this is what economists call “competitive advantage.”
The Times quotes a report by two pro-amnesty farmers groups, Partnership for a New American Economy and the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform, complaining that American consumption of foreign-grown produce has increased by 80 percent since the late 1990s.
I see why rich farmers are alarmed by that, but why should Americans care? If food can be grown cheaper in other countries, isn’t it the very essence of libertarian free trade principles to buy it from them?
No. Apparently, we’re required to wreck the country by bringing in millions upon millions more poor people so we can save the buggy whip industry.
We didn’t do that with oil. We didn’t do it with steel. We must be “Fortress America” only when it comes to asparagus!
Hey! Where’s the Cato Institute on this? Busy drafting another philippic against our drug laws?
I care more about my fellow Americans who can’t get well-paying jobs than I do about multimillionaire farmers, demanding that the rest of us pay to support an industry that claims it can’t compete without taxpayer-subsidized illegal alien labor.
