It was a beautiful southern California morning, complete with blue sky, cool breeze and a warm sun. I walked through the parking lot of the shopping plaza thinking of little else than my rendezvous with a pecan roll at the local bakery. As I strolled in front of the grocery store adjacent to the bake shop, I noticed a young African American woman standing next to the store entrance with bags of groceries neatly stacked. As is my practice with strangers, I made eye contact with her and said with a smile, “Hello, there! And how are you today?” She smiled back and responded with a Southern accent, “I’m fine, sir. How are you?”
“I’m doing well, thank you!” I had only taken a few steps past her when I heard her say, “Thank you for seeing me!” Her words brought me to a stop. Still smiling, I turned around and walked over to her, extending my hand. “My name’s Mark. What’s yours?”
For the next twenty minutes, I listened with rapt attention to Dominique share her story. She had grown up in Louisiana where her mother and sisters still lived. Three years ago, a family tragedy prompted her to make the move to California, where without contacts or the promise of employment she had managed to create for herself a life of purpose and fulfillment. She spoke with an easy Southern charm and a smile that radiated joy.
A car pulled up to the curb. Dominique introduced me to the driver, a friend of hers. I helped her load the groceries into the back seat. She thanked me and opened the front passenger-side door. “My daddy used to say that a person will remember how you made them feel long after they’ve forgotten what you said. I know I’ll remember this for a long time.” I smiled, knowing I would as well. The car drove away, but I stood there for a moment longer before stepping inside the bakery.
Sipping my coffee, with the remnants of a pecan roll on my plate, I looked around the bakery at the people there. I nodded to the regulars sitting at their favorite tables, some reading the daily newspaper, others on their laptops. Business-types hurried to the counter to pick up the to-go orders they had phoned in. I smiled thinking about what I had just experienced with Dominique, two strangers who had made a connection based on nothing more than a shared humanity and experience of life.
Every person has a story if you’re willing to take the time to listen. Greeting a stranger with a smile and a kind word is a very small thing to do and yet can have a profound effect on both people. One of my favorite quotes is from Mother Teresa, “Not all of us can do great things, but we all can do small things with great love.” I have found that the benefit of doing these small things not only helps me to maintain a positive outlook on life, but may even sow a few seeds of hope for someone else.
Perhaps I’m ascribing too much significance to the potential of what a simple ‘hello’ between two strangers can do. Certainly, not all of my encounters are as dramatic as the one I had shared with Dominique. And yet, I cannot shy away from doing it simply because I don’t know how the other person might react. I have done this hundreds of times over the past few years and it has never been met with anything other than a positive response.
When I share with others what I do and encourage them to give it a try, I’m usually met with comments like, “Well, that’s easy for you, Mark. You’re an outgoing person.” At which point I assure them that I am anything but outgoing. Yes, it has become easier over the years, but I still have to make a conscious effort to do it. When somebody steps up beside me at the self-serve coffee for a refill, rather than turn to them and say, ”Hello! How are you doing today?” my natural inclination is to remain silent and mind my own business.
Dominique’s words, “Thank you for seeing me,” reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend just a week prior. He and I were sharing our perceptions on how technology is making a bid to redefine human relationships. Social media is creating a society where we are becoming more connected, but less relational. A society where we can all be alone – together. We are in danger of losing the ability to have real conversations.
Don’t get me wrong. I always enjoy reading a text from my wife or daughter that says, “Thinking of you. Love you.” I’m on Facebook and find it useful to keep tabs on what’s going on with my friends (I especially appreciate the birthday notifications). But no amount of texts, tweets or Facebook posts will ever amount to having a REAL conversation with another person. People have a need to be seen. A need to be heard. A need to be treated as if they matter. Because they do.
One particular restaurant chain understands this. New employees are required to watch a short three-minute training video that captures a few minutes of activity inside one of their restaurants. There is a simple instrumental soundtrack with captions that appear whenever the camera focuses on an actor portraying either a customer or staff member. Each caption gives a brief description of one aspect of that person’s life at that moment before moving on to the next person. The snippets of information cover the spectrum, from joyful and celebratory to somber and even heart-wrenching. One caption for an older male customer reads: After years of battling cancer, is finally free of the disease. The camera pans to a young female staff member. The caption says: Worked hard through high school, was accepted to the college of her dreams. Then there’s a shot of an elderly woman sitting by herself in a booth. The caption reads: Husband died one month ago. Today would have been their 50th anniversary.
It doesn’t take much to brighten the day of a stranger. To smile. To offer a friendly greeting. To engage in a brief conversation. To see someone. I sincerely hope you try it and discover for yourself just how good it makes you feel.
Oh, and one more thing. Don’t be surprised if one day a bespectacled, white-haired man walks up to you smiling and says, “Hello, there! And how are you doing today?” It might just be me!

The guidance will be posted in the Federal Register on January 21, 2020 and it states, in part:
Section 8524(a) of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act and codified at 20 U.S.C. 7904(a), requires the Secretary to issue guidance to State educational agencies (SEAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), and the public on constitutionally protected prayer in public elementary and secondary schools. In addition, section 8524(b) requires that, as a condition of receiving ESEA funds, an LEA must certify in writing to its SEA that it has no policy that prevents, or otherwise denies participation in, constitutionally protected prayer in public schools as detailed in this updated guidance.
Education Week’s report on the guidance noted precedent for the Trump administration’s move:
The Elementary and Secondary Education Act, in its current and past versions, requires the U.S. Department of Education to provide guidance on prayer in schools every two years, but that guidance hasn’t been updated since 2003, a senior administration official said.
“President Trump is committed to making sure that people of faith, particularly children,” are not discouraged from constitutionally protected rights to pray, an administration official said in a conference call with reporters.
The new school prayer guidance, which will be published in the Federal Register Thursday Jan. 21, reiterates requirements under existing law that school districts must annually certify to their state departments of education that they have “no policy prohibiting participation in constitutionally protected prayer,” officials said. State education departments must have a process for fielding complaints the right to prayer has been violated, and they must report any complaints or lawsuits over school prayer to the federal Education Department, the guidance says.
The guidance also states that student religious groups should have the same access to school facilities as secular groups, which has been in place since 1998, Education Week reports.
The Trump administration will also issue a directive on Thursday that states religiously affiliated groups can get federal grants even if the group is located in a state that prohibits public funding of such groups.
“Those laws, known as Blaine amendments, are the subject of a case on tax-credit scholarships for private schools that will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court next week,” Education Week notes in its report.

Impeachments aren’t what they used to be. Today, young people are supposed to be excited that the president withheld taxpayer money from Ukraine — a half-billion-dollar foreign aid package that ticks off most Americans under any circumstances, going to a country notable for not being our country, and for a purpose other than the wall.
Now, Bill Clinton — that was an impeachment!
First, there was the corpus delicti of the case — a White House intern, Monica Lewinsky, earning her “presidential kneepads” by sexually servicing the president.
The telephonic evidence wasn’t about “Burisma Holdings Limited” or a Ukrainian prosecutor whose name no one can remember. It was tapes of Monica blathering on and on about servicing the president, including such fascinating items as:
— Clinton couldn’t remember Monica’s name after their first two sexual encounters;
— Monica’s suggestion to Clinton that she be named “assistant to the president for b— jobs”;
— Her description of the presidential member (“think of a thumb”).
On Jan. 17, 1998, The Drudge Report broke the intern story. The following week, Clinton gave an impassioned, finger-wagging, squint-eyed address to the nation, saying:
“I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman — Miss Lewinsky.”
Clinton spent the next seven months dragging the country through his lies, followed by the unraveling of his lies, then more lies, followed by more unraveling.
By late summer, it turned out Monica had, in fact, kept the long-rumored “blue dress” with Clinton’s semen on it. The president was ordered to produce a sample of his DNA. It was one of many presidential “firsts” under Clinton. A few weeks after producing his DNA, Clinton addressed the nation: “Indeed, I did have a relationship with Miss Lewinsky that was not appropriate.”
Contrary to the bilge put out by the legacy media ever since their baby boomer, draft-dodging, pot-smoking, Fleetwood Mac-listening president was caught committing numerous, serious felonies, Clinton was not impeached for having a sexual affair (as hilarious as that was). He was impeached for his repeated perjuries and subornation of perjury in a citizen’s private civil rights suit against him.
In May 1994, Paula Jones had brought a lawsuit against Clinton under the 1964 Civil Rights Act — once considered more sacred than any other legislation passed in the 20th century. That law prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment. Jones alleged that, when Clinton was the governor of Arkansas — a phrase that still has a rather disreputable ring to it — he had summoned her, a lowly state employee, to his hotel room, dropped his pants and said, “Kiss it.”
To prove her case, Jones had a right to collect evidence to show that he had made similar sexual advances toward other female underlings. This had been expressly confirmed by the Supreme Court’s May 27, 1997, unanimous ruling that her lawsuit could proceed without delay. (The court’s 9-0 ruling surprised every TV lawyer, but one.)
So Clinton lied. He lied to the country, to his Cabinet and, most important, to the court — under oath in a deposition presided over by federal judge Susan Webber Wright. (I’d add “to his wife,” but no one thinks she was fooled.)
During his deposition on Jan. 17, 1998, for example, Clinton gave these answers to Jones’ lawyers:
Q: At any time were you and Monica Lewinsky alone together in the Oval Office?
A: I don’t recall.
Q: At any time have you and Monica Lewinsky ever been alone together in any room in the White House?
A: I have no specific recollection.
The president had had Monica perform oral sex on him in the White House a half-dozen times, including while he was taking calls from members of Congress. On Easter Sunday, he’d sodomized her with a cigar. He’d just spent months orchestrating a massive campaign to ensure Monica would submit a perjurious affidavit to Jones’ attorneys, such as asking Vernon Jordan to arrange a job for her at Revlon in New York City.
To say that he “had no specific recollection” of being alone with Monica is blinding, inarguable perjury.
Liberals sneer that Clinton merely “lied about sex.” If it’s OK to “lie about sex,” then we can’t have laws about sex. No laws against sexual harassment, rape, child molestation, human trafficking, prostitution. (Oh sorry — I think I just listed the entire Democratic platform.) Those are all “just about sex”!
That’s why Clinton heatedly insisted that his testimony was “legally accurate,” saying, “It depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.”Perjury is a very serious crime. The Supreme Court sure thought so! (This is in contrast to the entire Democratic Party: Not a single Democrat voted against Clinton in the Senate impeachment trial, despite his screamingly obvious perjuries.)
Clinton’s first State of the Union address following his Senate trial happened to be the last one of his presidency. The entire Supreme Court boycotted the event. Even the two justices he’d appointed! The court’s gigantic message to the felon was conveyed to the sergeant-at-arms in a terse, two-sentence note expressing regrets.
We can’t have a legal system if people feel free to lie under oath.
Idiots keep announcing on TV that all impeachments are “political,” which they understand to mean “partisan.” No — that’s not what it means. As Alexander Hamilton explained in Federalist 65, impeachable offenses are “political” in the sense that they are attacks on the body politic — “injuries done immediately to the society itself.”
It doesn’t get much more injurious to a “nation of laws, not men” than to have the president of the United States perjuring himself over and over and over again in a citizen’s Supreme Court-approved lawsuit against him.

Ignoring a deadline that ended more than three decades ago, the Virginia Senate and state Assembly voted today to ratify the pro-abortion Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the U.S. Constitution.
In March 2020, the Supreme Court will rule on the constitutionality of Louisiana’s new abortion law, which requires that physicians doing abortions have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic.

Slightly more than one third — 36 percent — of Americans 18 to 29 say that other countries are better than the United States, according to a recent poll released by Pew Research.
Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents under the age of 30, nearly half, 47 percent, say that there are other countries that are better than the U.S. Meanwhile, just 20 percent of Democrats age 50 and over agree with this sentiment.
“Democrats have become more likely to say there are other countries that are better than the U.S.,”says Pew Research. “In telephone surveys, the share of Democrats saying this is higher than at any point since the question was first asked by Pew Research Center in 2011, and there has been a corresponding decline in the share saying the U.S. stands above other nations.” This poll demonstrates the dramatic shift in the Democrat party’s base, and the potential schism between traditional Democrat voters and young and woke progressives.
The study also noted that young Americans are “more likely to say it would be acceptable if another country became as militarily powerful as the U.S.”
According to Pew Research, a majority of adults — 61 percent — say that the United States should maintain its status as a military superpower, but that more than half — 55 percent — of Democrats under the age of 30 admit that they would find it acceptable if other nations became as militarily powerful as the United States.
Among young Republicans and Republican-leaning independents, these numbers are significantly lower, as just 19 percent of adults under the age of 30 agree with their young Democrat counterparts with regards to the idea that other countries are superior to the United States.
Among Republicans ages 50 and older, only 4 percent share agree with this sentiment.
The report added that while a majority of Republicans say that the Untied States should try to maintain its status as a military superpower, 38 percent of Republicans under the age of 30 say that it would be acceptable if another country became as militarily powerful as the U.S.

The video begins with a Project Veritas journalist asking an individual identified as Sanders organizer Kyle Jurek if “MAGA people” could be re-educated if Sanders wins the White House. “We gotta try,” Jurek replies. “In Nazi Germany, after the fall of the Nazi Party, there was a shit-ton of the populace that was fuck**g Nazified.”
“Germany had to spend billions of dollars re-educating their fuck**g people to not be Nazis,” he continues. “We’re probably going to have to do the same fuck**g thing here.”
“That’s kind of what all Bernie’s whole fuck**g like, ‘hey, free education for everybody’ because we’re going to have to teach you to not be a fuck**g Nazi,” he added.
In another part of the video, Jurek is seen discussing Soviet Union dictator Joseph Stalin’s use of gulags, where he claims that the CIA was overly critical of them. “People were actually paid a living wage in the gulags. They have conjugal visits in gulags. Gulags were meant for re-education,” he says.
Jurek is then seen suggesting that the most effective way to re-educate the billionaire class is to order them to “break rocks for 12 hours a day.”
“[The] greatest way to break a fuck**g billionaire of their privilege and their idea that they’re superior, go and break rocks for 12 hours a day. You’re now a working class person, and you’re going to fuck**g learn what the means, right?”
The video also shows Jurek warning that Milwaukee, host of this year’s Democratic National Convention, will “burn” if Sanders fails to win the party’s nomination. “If Bernie doesn’t get the nomination or it goes to a second round at the DNC convention, fuck**g Milwaukee will burn,”says Jurek. “It’ll start in Milwaukee and then when the police push back on that, other sites will fuck**g [explode].”
The footage concludes with Jurek issuing the chilling prediction that Milwaukee could see riots akin to the 1968 convention in Chicago, where left-wing activists engaged in violent riots in the streets. “Be ready to be in Milwaukee for the DNC convention. We’re going to make [1968] look like a fuck**g girl’s scout fuck**g cookout,” warns the Sanders field organizer. “The cops are going to be the ones fuck**g beaten in Milwaukee.”
The undercover video’s emergence comes as 2020 Democrats are slated to debate Tuesday evening — their final meeting before Iowa holds the nation’s first caucus on February 3. Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe has teased that Tuesday’s footage is one of several upcoming videos to be released as part of the group’s “Expose2020” campaign.
From the very moment that Donald Trump stepped onto the political stage, the man has been singularly obsessed with reforming the American immigration system. From state to state, city to city, candidate Trump touted the need for a wall on the border between the United States and our southern neighbor, Mexico. The wall would prevent ne’er-do-wells on the other side of that divider from easily accessing America; particularly the black market that exists here for drug dealers and human traffickers. These bad hombres would be forced to enter the US at legal ports of entry, making their illicit activities that much harder to travel with.
But it’s not as easy as simply pressing the “wall” button, and Donald Trump has learned this the hard way. Democrats have opposed his wall from the get-go, forcing the President to execute some slick and complex maneuvers in order to get the all-important wall built.
President Donald Trump will transfer another $7.2 billion from Pentagon accounts in 2020 to build the promised border wall, according to the Washington Post.
The paper reported January 13 that the president would use his national emergency powers to:
“divert an additional $7.2 billion in Pentagon funding for border wall construction this year, five times what Congress authorized him to spend on the project in the 2020 budget, according to internal planning figures obtained by The Washington Post.
“The Pentagon funds would be extracted, for the second year in a row, from military construction projects and counternarcotic funding. According to the plans, the funding would give the government enough money to complete [a total of] approximately 885 miles of new fencing by spring 2022, far more than the 509 miles the administration has slated for the U.S. border with Mexico.”
And while this may sound like a major step in the right direction, there is no doubt that the move will be challenged by the Democrats, either in court, or through the legislature.

Upside-down “rivers” of warm ocean water may be one of the causes of Antarctica’s ice shelves breaking up, leading to a rise in sea levels. A new study suggests that, in the past, increases in Antarctic sea ice in colder climates may have contributed to ice ages.
Using computer simulations, the research looked at past changes during the glacial periods and noted that previous increases in sea ice levels may have significantly altered the circulation of the ocean, which led to a reverse greenhouse effect as carbon dioxide levels in the ocean increased and levels in the air decreased.
“One key question in the field is still what caused the Earth to periodically cycle in and out of ice ages,”University of Chicago professor and the study’s co-author, Malte Jansen, said in a statement. “We are pretty confident that the carbon balance between the atmosphere and ocean must have changed, but we don’t quite know how or why.”

The last major ice age ended at the end of the Pleistocene epoch, about 11,700 years ago, as glaciers have periodically grown and then gotten smaller. Researchers believe that changes to the Earth’s orbit may be partly responsible for some of the Earth’s cooling, but additional factors have likely played a part, Jensen added.
“The most plausible explanation is that there was some change in how carbon was divided between the atmosphere and the ocean,” Jansen continued. “There’s no shortage of ideas about how this happens, but it’s not quite clear how they all fit together.”
Researchers also believe a mini-ice age may have occurred roughly 12,800 years ago. It likely stems from an asteroid impact that “rocked the Northern Hemisphere“ and led to the Younger Dryas climate event.
Jansen pointed out that the Southern Ocean around Antarctica “plays a key role in ocean circulation” due to the deep waters in the region, leading it to have “outsize[d] consequences.”
“What this suggests is that it’s a feedback loop,” said the study’s lead author, Alice Marzocchi. “As the temperature drops, less carbon is released into the atmosphere, which triggers more cooling.”
“What surprised me is how much of this increased storage can be attributed to physical changes alone, with Antarctic sea-ice cover being the key player,” Marzocchi added, noting that future study of the ocean and the role it plays in the carbon cycle can help simulate “future environmental change.”
The research has been published in the scientific journal Nature Geoscience.

The ad opens with a bible verse: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” It then cuts to footage of President Trump quotes before he was President and footage of him attacking Democrats. Next, it pokes fun at Christian leaders who support him and mixes the footage together attempting to make evangelicals look like fools.
The ad ends with saying “If this is the best American Christians can do, then God help us all.”
In a tweet, a member of the Lincoln Project Rick Wilson said, “We’re just getting started.”
The Lincoln Project is just another angry rhino never-trumpet group led by George Conway similar to Bill Kristol’s group Republicans For The Rule of Law. Liberals and never-trumpers have taken their hatred of President Trump and are now focusing it on evangelicals because they strongly support the President and helped get him elected. The ad is an obvious attempt to shame Christians who support President Trump and hurt his base.
I watched the entire ad and most of the cuts that the group used were President Trump attacking the media, violent protestors who infiltrated his rally, and Democrats. One clip, in particular, was when President Trump told Jim Acosta to sit down because he is “Fake News.”
There is nothing more righteous than calling out a liar like Jim Acosta and using emotion to speak out against the coup that has tried to remove President Trump from office.
If anything this ad makes me want to vote for President Trump, even more, just knowing that it’s going to piss off George Conway, Bill Kristol, and other liberal elitists.
This video isn’t going to hurt President Trump, all it really is are liberals attacking Christians because they are mad at them for supporting President Trump; only elitists and liberals will like this video.

While CBS primarily complained about “scavengers” randomly plucking debris from the site and highlighted the inexplicable lack of security, U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell called the Iranian regime out for deliberately destroying evidence, linking to German-language reports about bulldozers on the scene:
CBS reports indicated large portions of the downed aircraft’s fuselage have been removed from the site, which would be difficult to explain as the work of random scavengers rushing to grab a few souvenirs.
Iranian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Hamid Baeidinejad on Friday denied bulldozers were clearing the crash site, even though they have been captured in photographs and video recordings.
Furthermore, Iranian media outlets have posted photos of objects removed from the crash site and neatly arranged for convenient display.
At a news conference on Friday, Iranian officials displayed what they claimed was one of the “black box” flight recorders recovered from the aircraft and said it could take “one or two months” to recover its data, while a full investigation of the incident could take “one or two years” to complete.
The regime originally said it would not share the black boxes with U.S. officials or the American manufacturer of the plane, Boeing, but later it appeared to back away from that position and indicated it might be willing to share the boxes, or at least the data it claims to extract from them, with foreign investigators.
“Generally speaking, Iran has the potential and know-how to decode the black box. Everybody knows that,” Iranian Civil Aviation Authority chief Ali Abedzadeh boasted to CNN on Thursday, perhaps sensitive to how Iran’s intransigence might give the contrary impression.
“The black box of this very Ukrainian Boeing 737 is damaged. Ukrainian Aviation experts arrived here in Tehran today. We had a session with them. From tomorrow they will start decoding the data,” Abedzadeh said. He did not elaborate on what “very Ukrainian” means or explain how Ukrainian technicians might have altered the flight recorder in a way that makes it difficult to read.
Intelligence agencies around the world announced on Thursday that the plane was very likely destroyed by an Iranian surface-to-air missile, specifically a Russian-built SA-15. U.S. officials implied satellite intelligence helped them reach this determination quickly. Some video footage leaked out of Iran appears to show an object rising rapidly from the ground and impacting the plane, causing it to burst into flames. The regime in Tehran continues to insist the plane crashed due to a mysterious mechanical failure.

As of January 1, “Jude’s Law” (HB19-1039) went into effect, named after 13-year-old “Jude,” a biological male, who told Fox 31 Denver he went to the vital records office on January 2 to “get my gender and name changed on my birth certificate.”
“I think a lot of us have lived as someone that we’re not,”Jude said. “And we’ve been identifying by something that wasn’t who we are. And for me, that brought a really dark place—a lot of self-hate.”
“I got my old birth certificate and I ripped it,” Jude added. “It was kind of a nice little closure to say, ‘I’m done with you. It’s over.’”
According to Fox 31, LGBTQ lobbying group One Colorado co-wrote Jude’s Law and Democrat Gov. Jared Polis signed it into law.
“A transgender or non-binary person can access any state identity document—a birth certificate, a driver’s license, a state ID without a cumbersome process, like needing a surgery, a court order, or a doctor’s note,”said Daniel Ramos, executive director of One Colorado.
Jude said he has identified as a female since 2015 and began working with One Colorado and testifying in favor of the bill when he was only nine years old.

“The first time she testified, she was little with curls. Remember? You had your little flower dress on,” said Jude’s mother, Jenna, smiling as she looked over at Jude.
“And she’s just come so far. To be able to say that my child is fighting for other people’s human rights—that’s pretty cool, especially when she’s just 13 years old,” Jenna added.
Jude is currently working with Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) to make Jude’s Law a federal law.
“And I think that will be my next step,”Jude said.
In November 2018, Colorado also implemented a policy that allowed state residents to select “X” as their gender, rather than “male” or “female,” on driver licenses.

While listening to news reports of what a monstrous threat Iran is, I’ve been wracking my brain to think of a single terrorist attack in this country committed by an Iranian. If there is one, now would be a good time to mention it! But I can’t find any.
Nor any child rapes, Medicare frauds, heroin dealing or general anti-social behavior making life in America such a pleasure these days.
Even the 9/11 report could tie Iran to the attacks only on the thin reed of several hijackers passing through Iran on their way to the U.S. — where our customs officials welcomed all 19 of them with open arms.
Thirteen of the 19 terrorists had been given Florida drivers’ licenses. If we’re going back to 9/11, maybe Trump should consider dropping a drone on Jeb Bush.
To get killed by an Iranian — or even to be harassed by an Iranian — you have to go the Middle East.

But today, Americans are sitting at home being scared out of their wits by news reports of the “threat” Iran poses to their children, their homes, their commute to work, their very lives.
They can rest easy. It’s more likely that Mars will attack, and we didn’t just kill a Martian general.
Just in terms of American Lives Snuffed Out, the greatest threat to our country, hands down, comes from Mexico. Doesn’t “national security” have something to do with keeping Americans alive?
Mexican heroin killed at least 14,000 Americans last year. Mexican fentanyl and methamphetamine killed about 10,000 to 14,000. Hispanic drunk drivers — Mexicans or other Hispanics given safe passage to the U.S. through Mexico — kill about 3,000 Americans every year.
That’s not to mention the random murders, the Kate Steinles, the cartel and gang killings, and even the occasional mass murder committed by Mexicans in the U.S. (Look up Eduardo Sencion and Salvador Tapia.)
Number of Americans killed in their own country every year by Iranians: 0 that I know of.
Number of Americans killed in their own country every year by Mexicans: 30,000, by conservative estimate.
Can we get a little news coverage of that? Perhaps a short segment, now and then, on the undeclared war right here in our own hemisphere?
No, instead of ever mentioning the unprecedented transformation of our country from the most successful, prosperous nation on Earth to another failed Latin American state, we get nightly updates on Libya, ISIS, Syria and now Iran.
Summary: Wretched, violent primitives are sitting on mounds of oil, which, fortunately, we don’t need anymore, so this is of no interest to you, America.
Cable news networks lure liberals and conservatives into taking opposing sides of conflicts that have less bearing on our lives than one day of illegal immigration.
If Fox News and CNN had been broadcasting from Europe in the 1920s and 1930s, this is how I imagine they’d alert the public to the rising danger of Adolf Hitler:

African American leaders urged the U.S. Supreme Court to recognize how abortion hurts the black community in an amicus brief filed ahead of an important abortion case.
A pro-abortion amendment to the U.S. Constitution cannot move forward, despite abortion activists’ attempts to revive it past the deadline, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
A new survey of abortion facilities in the U.S. has revealed a new, disturbing industry-wide trend that shows that overall in 2019, surgical abortion facilities have expanded into the late-term abortion market, where lucrative multi-day procedures can reap quick profits.
When we flip the calendar over to December, even more than usual, we come to think about the anniversary of an earth-shattering event that will be only seven weeks away: January 22, 1973.
Fox Nation host Lara Logan admitted Tuesday evening that she doesn’t understand how Americans are essentially siding with Iran to attack President Donald Trump.
Logan, speaking with Fox News host Laura Ingraham and fellow guest Dinesh D’Souza, recounted some of her own experiences with the Iranian regime during her time in the Middle East.
“It is kind of depressing,” Logan replied. “I’ve been a journalist for more than 30 years and I’ve never seen anything like it. What about the voices of the Iraqi people? What about the voice of the Syrians and the Yemenis and all the people across the region who have been celebrating Soleimani’s death? You won’t see them on the streets of Tehran. You are not going to see this great display because they are afraid. They are so afraid of what the proxy forces, the revolutionary guards are capable of.”
Ingraham turned the question to D’Souza, who argued that if former President Barack Obama had been the one to order the strike against Soleimani the response would have been very different.
“If Obama had taken him out there would be celebrations, Obama is a genius,” D’Souza said. “But since it is Trump, they want to mobilize the Soleimani assassination against Trump. They are, in a way, willing to go to bed with the far enemy to defeat the near enemy, who is a greater threat to their agenda here at home.”
Logan went on to recount her experiences in the region with Iranian proxy forces, noting the extreme brutality of Soleimani and his proxies.
“That commander that was trained in Iran, loyal to Iran, run by Soleimani, he killed, according to the U.S. Embassy, two and a half thousand Sunnis,” Logan said. “His preferred method to kill them was to drill holes in their heads while they were alive. They would be meat hooks on the wall that the Iranian militias used to hang people there.”
“And I remember interviewing a young Iraqi boy, his father was taken in the night by an Iranian militia, and I will never forget him holding my hand and saying, when they took his father he had no shoes,” Logan continued, adding that the boy was turned away when he caught up to them. “He won’t need shoes where he’s going,” was what the militia member told the boy.
Logan concluded by saying that that boy’s father was one of many bodies that was eventually found in a dumpster after interacting with Iranian militias.

All of the 183 alleged arsonists have been arrested since the start of this year’s bushfire season, the Australianreported Tuesday, adding that 29 fires were deliberately started in the Shoalhaven region of southeast New South Wales (NSW) in just three months.
Drawing on data from NSW Bureau of Crime and Statistics and Research, the newspaper reported that “183 people have been charged or cautioned for bushfire-related offences since November 8, and 24 arrested for deliberately starting bushfires.”
The extent of the arson is vast, as police have arrested people for lighting bushfires across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania in the past few months, police data reveals. In Queensland alone, 101 people have been detained for setting fires in the bush, 32 adults and 69 juveniles, police noted.
According to professor Janet Stanley of Melbourne University, the arsonists are typically young males, aged 12 to 24, or older men in their 60s.
Meanwhile, alarmists have been excitedly pointing to the bush fires as evidence of a worldwide climate emergency caused by fossil fuel emissions.

On New Year’s day, the Guardian published an essay by Michael Mann, arguably the world’s preeminent climate alarmist, who said he was “watching climate change in action”while on holiday in Australia.
In his article “Australia, your country is burning – dangerous climate change is here with you now,” Mann claimed he was witnessing the devastating effects of climate change “first hand.”
Best known for his debunked “hockey stick”graph showing supposedly unprecedented 20th-century global warming after centuries of allegedly stable temperatures, Mann wrote that instead of “vast expanses of rainforest framed by distant blue-tinged mountain ranges,” he looked out into “smoke-filled valleys, with only the faintest ghosts of distant ridges and peaks in the background.”
“The brown skies I observed in the Blue Mountains this week are a product of human-caused climate change,” Mann asserted.
“The warming of our planet – and the changes in climate associated with it – are due to the fossil fuels we’re burning: oil, whether at midnight or any other hour of the day, natural gas, and the biggest culprit of all, coal,” he declared.
Australians “need only wake up in the morning, turn on the television, read the newspaper or look out the window to see what is increasingly obvious to many – for Australia, dangerous climate change is already here,” Mann stated.
“Australia is experiencing a climate emergency. It is literally burning,” he said.

In its just published 2018-2019 Annual Report, Planned Parenthood reports performing 345,672 abortions for 2018, the most the organization has ever reported.
In case Speaker Nancy Pelosi missed her wake-up call, I suggest she heed the latest poll numbers.
Americans have responded. They don’t believe the nonsense of impeachment. According to CNS News, President Trump gained strength after impeachment.
On Thursday – the same day House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Democrats will proceed with articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump – the president’s approval jumped to 52%, its highest level in more than two months.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 52% of likely U.S. voters approve of President Trump’s job performance, while 47% disapprove. This represents a three percentage point improvement from the previous day, when 49% approved and 50% disapproved.
At 52%, Trump’s approval is the highest daily number since September 24th of this year (53% approved, 45% disapproved).
Thursday’s 52% approval was driven by men voicing strong approval of Trump (59%-40%). More women disapproved (53%) of the president than approved (46%).
Men finally realize the war against men being waged by the Left. And it won’t be long before a percentage of currently Trump-disapproving women realize that a war against men is a war against their fathers, husbands and sons.

Only 31% of black likely voters voiced approval of Trump on Thursday, as 67% disapproved. But, 61% of all other minority voters approved of Trump, while only 38% disapproved. Trump’s approval was also net positive among white voters (53%-46%).
Only 31% of black likely voters? Talk about Armageddon for Democrats. If only 15% of black voters support President Trump, game over.
Former NFL player and former Democrat Jack Brewer said recently that he predicts a minimum of 20 percent of the black vote for Trump.

The writing is on the wall for Democrats. They can’t point to a single demographic where they haven’t lost potential voters.
President Donald Trump now knows how Washington DC works. In his case, no matter what he accomplishes, Democrats see him through “impeachment” goggles.
So in the aftermath of sending a bomb up Gen. Qassem Soleimani’s toga, the president pulled a fast one.
The White House sent Congress on Saturday a formal notification under the War Powers Act of the drone strike ordered by President Donald Trump that killed Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani on Friday, two congressional officials said Saturday.
The notification, required by law within 48 hours of introducing American forces into armed conflict or a situation that could lead to war, has to be signed and then sent to Congress, according to the officials with knowledge of the plan.
Lawmakers expected the document to publicly lay out the White House’s legal justification for the strike on Soleimani, Iran’s top security commander, who officials have said has been behind hundreds of American deaths over the years. But the notification first sent to Congress late Saturday afternoon contained only classified information, according to a senior congressional aide, likely detailing the intelligence that led to the action. It is unclear whether the White House will send a separate, unclassified document.
First the president didn’t notify Congress of the strike. Then second he sends only classified information. What a bold and telling move.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement Saturday evening that the notification “raises more questions than it answers,” including “serious and urgent questions about the timing, manner and justification of the administration’s decision to engage in hostilities against Iran.”
“The highly unusual decision to classify this document in its entirety compounds our many concerns, and suggests that the Congress and the American people are being left in the dark about our national security,” Pelosi said.
Needless to say, Americans aren’t being kept in the dark. We know exactly what happened. The military tracked Soleimani, per their job. When the opportunity arose, they sent him to his virgins.
Nobody, including Leftists can complain about the death of one of the world’s premier terrorists. Clearly, the American people need no explanation, at least for now.
But Democrats pretend Americans need to know. And that’s where Trump may be setting a trap. Because we know that Democrats love to (1) fake details of events, and (2) leak details of faked events.
Democrats want a crisis!
I suggest that Democrats want to figure out a way to politicize the warranted killing of a heinous terrorist. However, because of the White House classifying all the details, they can’t even discuss the matter. That doesn’t mean Democrats like Adam Schiff or Jerry Nadler can help themselves. These two congressional madmen would use anything to try to root Trump from the White House. Therefore, expect the Democrats to dust off their strategy of calling Trump a warmonger, unhinged in his need to “push the button”.
Again, while stating unequivocally that the world should shed no tears for Soleimani, many Democrats have called the strike against Soleimani, which threatens to escalate tensions between the U.S. and Iran and reverberate throughout a violent and volatile region, illegal and unauthorized. Even Biden cried, saying “Trump threw dynamite,” as if that’s a bad thing. Thus, Democrats strategize to limit President Trump’s ability to strike Iran in the future.
One thing is for sure. Democrats rejoice that the airstrike took impeachment out of the news cycle. Because Trump’s bombing of Soleimani proves that he has not a care in the world about what most Americans now see as “impeachment farce”.
Soleimani wasn’t the only terrorist killed in that bombing. Trump symbolically killed America’s biggest terrorist organization, the Democratic Party. Yet again, President Trump dares Democrats to challenge his authority. And the Democrats oblige, as they look for ways to limit his Constitutional duties. But the more they grasp at straws, the better things get for Trump.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi withholding impeachment articles from Senate. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., insisted Sunday that if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not deliver articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate by the end of the week, the Senate should “take matters in our own hands.”
Graham accused Pelosi of playing political games and trying to exert control over the Senate trial by keeping it from starting. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., recognized Friday on the Senate floor the chamber’s rules prevented him from doing anything until Pelosi does her part, but Graham proposed a solution that could remove what McConnell has called an “impasse” in the process.
“What I would do, if she continues to refuse to send the articles as required by the Constitution, I would work with Senator McConnell to change the rules of the Senate so we could start the trial without her, if necessary,” Graham proposed on “Sunday Morning Futures.”
When asked how long he would wait before taking this step, Graham replied, “Days, not weeks.”
Graham justified this by claiming that Pelosi was engaging in a “political stunt” by holding off on sending the impeachment articles to the Senate, weeks after they were approved by a House vote. He said McConnell would not let her dictate how events unfold.
“Well, we’re not going to let Nancy Pelosi use the rules of the Senate to her advantage. This is dangerous to the presidency as an institution,” Graham said. “They impeached the president, but the speaker of the House is holding the articles back, trying to extort from the majority leader of the Senate a trial to her liking. They’re trying to hold these articles over the head of the president.”
Graham laid out how he would expect the trial to go, allowing both sides to present arguments before determining whether witnesses were needed.
“We’ll use the Clinton model, where you take the record established in the House, let the House managers appointed by Pelosi make the argument, let the president make his argument why the two articles are flawed, and then we’ll decide whether we want witnesses. But this should be done in a couple of weeks,” he said.
Graham expressed hope that the Senate could conclude the impeachment trial before the end of January, but reiterated that this may require the Senate to push Pelosi out of the equation.
“If we don’t get the articles this week, then we need to take matters in our own hands and change the rules, deem them to be delivered to the Senate so we can start the trial, invite the House over to participate if they would like,” he said. “If they don’t come, dismiss the case and get on with governing the country.”

Leftists at the University of Texas at Austin — who have doxed conservative students in the past — threatened to dox incoming freshmen students in June, claiming that they would release the students’ personal information if they were caught joining conservative groups on campus — namely the Young Conservatives of Texas and Turning Point USA.

A man was arrested in June after attempting to chain the doors to a College Republicans event in a classroom at the University of Washington. The move, which appeared to be an attempt to lock the conservatives inside the classroom, failed as the speaker’s personal security members and students forced the doors open. The man acted after an Antifa call to action to disrupt the event.
6. Chico State protester takes sign from a conservative student and strikes him in the face with it.
In November, a student protester at California State University, Chico shouted expletives at the school’s College Republican’s chapter president, before taking his sign and striking him in the face with it. The incident was caught on video.
A student allegedly assaulted a pro-life activist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after seeing pro-life signage depicting aborted children. In a separate but similar incident at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a woman was caught on video assaulting a pro-life activist, and spray painting one of his signs.
An alleged member of NC State’s Young Democratic Socialists of America club sprayed paint into the face of Jack Bishop — the son of Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) and a member of the school’s Turning Point USA club — while spray painting over a message promoting the conservative student group’s upcoming event in November.
3. Three students arrested at Tulane University after setting fire to Turning Point USA chapter president’s dorm room door.
Three individuals were arrested for aggravated arson after allegedly setting a dorm room door on fire in March at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. One of the students living in the targeted dorm room was the president of Tulane’s Turning Point USA chapter, and had recently been “doxed” by leftists seeking to “expose” members of the conservative student group, as well as Young American for Liberty.
2. Police investigate “bias incident” at South Seattle College after Turning Point USA chapter president was stalked by a man in an SUV.
Police investigated a hit and run accident that they considered a “bias incident” in April, after a man allegedly followed the president of the South Seattle College Turning Point USA student group with his vehicle as she walked to her car. The incident — which occurred following an argument between the two individuals over TPUSA signage — resulted in the conservative student calling 911 after the man struck another vehicle while circling her with his SUV.
1. Conservative activist Hayden Williams punched in the face at UC Berkeley.
Hayden Williams, a field representative from the Leadership Institute, was punched in the face at the University of California, Berkeley in February while recruiting conservative students. The incident — which was caught on video — is said to be the catalyst for prompting President Donald Trump to sign an executive order in March requiring colleges and universities to uphold the First Amendment on campus if they want to receive federal funding.

The 77-year-old, who won a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles, made the comments while giving a sermon at her Victory Life Church in the Australian city of Perth. Addressing the issue of trans athletes competing in male or female sports, the Christian pastor said: “You know with that LGBT, they’ll wish they never put the T on the end of it because, particularly in women’s sports, they’re going to have so many problems.”
She also claimed children as young as seven were beginning to change gender, adding: “It’s so wrong at that age because a lot of things are planted in this thought realm and they start to question, ‘what am I?’
“You know, even that LGBT in the schools, it’s of the devil, it’s not of God…”
Court is known as an opponent of gay unions and stated in the past that lesbianism on the women’s tour has a corrupting influence on young players, as Breitbart Sports reported.
Twelve-times grand slam champion Billie Jean King last year called for Court’s name stripped to be from the Australian Open showcourt in Melbourne because Court’s views on sexuality, including the claim that “tennis is full of lesbians”, are offensive to her.

Despite the backlash from modern players, Court does not resile from her opinions. In fact she doubled-down on her controversial views regarding sexuality during the sermon. She said:
You have got young people taking hormones and having changes, by the time they are 17 they are thinking, ‘Now I’m a boy and really I was a girl’. Because you know what, God made us that way.
Court also highlighted the difficulty of talking about her religious beliefs, claiming “the devil” controlled parts of the media and government.
“The devil gets in and the media and the political, the education, TV — he wants to control a nation so he can affect people’s minds and mouths,” she said.
“I can go on television and if I say, ‘well, this is what the Bible says’, well, it’s like opening a can of worms. My goodness, you’ve let a torpedo off or something. No it’s true, because they hate the word of God.”
The 2020 Australian Open — where Court has been invited to attend as a special guest — commences Tuesday, January 14th in Melbourne.

Breitbart News reported a man opened fire in the church Sunday morning, only to be shot and killed when a good guy with a gun returned fire. Fox News reports that a second parishioner who serves on the church security team shot the attacker as well.
The Dallas Morning News quoted Lt. Gov. Patrick saying:

NBC News reports that Wilson owns a gun range, which is where he trained for a moment like the one that arose Sunday at church.
When asked how he is dealing with killing another man, Wilson said, “I don’t feel like I killed a human, I killed an evil and that’s how I’m coping with the situation.”

Farmer is the pastor at West Freeway Church of Christ, the site of the December 29, 2019, attack wherein armed parishioners took out a gunman almost immediately after he fired a round.
ABC News aired video of Farmer praising both the response and “kindness” shown by law enforcement.
He then shifted his attention to armed congregants, saying, “We lost two great men today, but it could have been a lot worse. And I am thankful that our government has allowed us the opportunity to protect ourselves.”

Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary.
That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program,
That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
That the money the participants put into the Independent ‘Trust Fund’ rather than into the General Operating Fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other government program, and,
That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month — and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the federal government to ‘put away’, you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which political party took Social Security from the Independent ‘Trust Fund’ and put it in to the General Fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically– controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which political party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic
Q: Which political party started taxing Social Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the ‘tie-breaking’ deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the U.S.
Q: Which political party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That’s right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, they began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is, uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn’t so.

The IRS placed a tax lien on Hunter Biden seeking $112,805 in unpaid taxes from 2015, according to records the Daily Caller News Foundation obtained. The federal agency issued the previously unreported lien in November 2018 and it seeks unpaid taxes for a year in which Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, served on the boards of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings and the Chinese private equity firm BHR Partners.
“We have made a demand for payment of this liability, but it remains unpaid,” the IRS stated in the lien notice, which it filed with the Washington, D.C., Recorder of Deeds. “Therefore, there is a lien in favor of the United States on all property and rights to property belonging to this taxpayer for the amount of these taxes.”
The tax lien was issued against Hunter Biden and his ex-wife, Kathleen Biden, but was delivered to the same address Hunter Biden has on file with Connecticut’s Judicial Branch, an address that is also linked to his law firm,Owasco PC.
It does not appear that Hunter Biden has resolved his tax debt to the IRS. No corresponding lien release form has been filed with the Washington, D.C., Recorder of Deeds.
Hunter Biden’s lawyer, George Mesires, did not return multiple requests for comment asking whether Hunter Biden’s unpaid taxes from 2015 were related to his work with Burisma or BHR Partnersand whether the lien has been released.

Washington, D.C., also placed a tax lien against Hunter and Kathleen Biden for $48,929 in unpaid income taxes for 2015. Records show the city released the lien in August 2017.
Hunter Biden was appointed to the board of Burisma in 2014, a post he held until 2019. Hunter Biden did not receive any direct compensation from Burisma — rather, the Ukrainian company wired funds to Rosemont Seneca Bohai (RSB), an American firm controlled by Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner Devon Archer. Between June 2014 and October 2015, RSB wired a total of $708,302 to Hunter Biden each month for undisclosed purposes while RSB was receiving funds from Burisma.
Kathleen Biden filed for divorce from Hunter Biden in 2016. She said in court documents that they faced a “shocking and overwhelming” amount of debts, including “maxed-out credit card debt, double mortgages on both real properties they own, and tax debt of at least $313,970.”
Kathleen Biden accused Hunter Biden of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on “his own interests (including drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, strip clubs and gifts for women with whom he had sexual relations) while leaving the family with no funds to pay legitimate bills.”
The revelation that the IRS is seeking $112,805 in unpaid taxes from Hunter Biden comes as he’s the subject of an ongoing paternity case in Arkansas from former stripper Lunden Roberts, who’s seeking child support for their 16-month-old child.
Hunter Biden stated under oath in a Nov. 27 court document that he has been unemployed and has had no monthly income since May.
In a motion to compel discovery filed in December, Roberts said Hunter Biden has avoided his “natural and legal duty to support his child by failing to provide basic information about his income, finances, and lifestyle.”
“[I]t should, by now, be abundantly clear to the Court that the defendant is not going to provide any of his discoverable financial information unless the court forces him to do so,” the filing read.
