Gutless President in Wall-less Country

If you were elected president after decades of politicians doing nothing about the millions of illegals pouring into our country every year, committing crimes, dealing drugs, driving drunk, molesting children and killing Americans like Kate Steinle, and your central campaign promise — repeated every day — was to build a wall, wouldn’t you have spent the entirety of your transition period working on getting it done?

Wouldn’t you have been building prototypes, developing relationships with key congressional allies and talking to military leaders about using the Seabees or the Army Corps of Engineers to build the wall?

Wouldn’t you skip the inauguration and take the oath of office in San Diego so you could get started on supervising wall construction immediately after putting your hand on the Bible and being sworn in as the leader of the free world?

You would if you meant it.

Well, Donald Trump didn’t do that.

OK, sure he could have taken the oath in D.C., gone to a few balls, then started the wall on day two of his presidency. But he didn’t do that either.

Maybe I’m a literalist. A zealot. When people kept telling me to be patient — the wall is coming! — I nursed a private hope that I was wrong, and they were right.

It is now crystal clear that one of two things is true: Either Trump never intended to build the wall and was scamming voters all along, or he has no idea how to get it done and zero interest in finding out.

He sacrifices every opportunity to make the wall happen.

For two years, Trump pretended to believe the president of the United States needs express authorization from Congress to defend the nation’s borders and blamed the Republican majority for not “funding” the wall.

In a few weeks, he’ll start blaming the Democratic House.

Last week — several whole days ago — Trump said over and over again that he would shut down the government if he didn’t get funding for the wall — the precise thing he claims he needs. “We need border security. The wall is a part of border security,” he said. “If we don’t have border security, we’ll shut down the government.”

Trump wore the shutdown over the wall as a badge of honor: “You want to know something? OK, you want to put that on me. I’ll take it. You know what I’ll say? Yes, if we don’t get what we want … I will shut down the government. Absolutely.”

“WALL FUNDING OFF TABLE “

In other words, Trump is doing exactly what I feared he would do in the worst conceivable way. He’s not building the wall, while making ridiculous promises right up until the second before he folds.

The Washington Post loves to find the one crazy, trailer park lady who supports Trump because she’s had religious ecstasies about him, but most people who voted for him did so with a boatload of qualms.

The basic factory setting on the perception of Trump is: gigantic douchebag. This is a man who manufactured fake Time magazine covers featuring himself with the headline, “Donald Trump: The ‘Apprentice’ is a television smash!” so that he could put framed copies of it on the walls of his clubs.

His business is convincing people with lowbrow taste to give him their money.

He’s a vulgar publicity hound who used to call reporters in a fake voice and pretend to be his own PR agent, “John Miller” or “John Barron,” so he could brag that actresses wanted to date him.

On one “Apprentice” episode, the reward for the winning team was: to see Trump’s apartment. Not to eat there or spend the night. They got to see it. “As a little treat,” he said, “you’re gonna see the nicest apartment in New York City.” He added: “I show this apartment to very few people. Presidents, kings …”

It’s not as if a majority of his voters weren’t clear-eyed about what kind of man he is. If anything, Trump’s vulgar narcissism made his vow to build a wall more believable. Respectable politicians had made similar promises over the years — and they always betrayed the voters. Maybe it took a sociopath to ignore elite opinion and keep his word.

On the basis of his self-interest alone, he must know that if he doesn’t build the wall, he has zero chance of being re-elected and a 100 percent chance of being utterly humiliated.

But when Trump is alone with Ivanka, they seem to agree that the wall has nothing to do with it. The people just love him for who he is! In a country of 320 million people, I’m sure there are some, but I have yet to meet a person who said, Yeah, I don’t really care about immigration or trade, I just love his personality!

What else were we going to do? He was the only one talking sense. Unfortunately, that’s all he does: talk. He’s not interested in doing anything that would require the tiniest bit of effort.

In the end, we’ll probably find out “wall” was Trump’s “safe word” with Stormy Daniels. It’s just something he blurts out whenever he’s in trouble.

He’s in trouble now. As absurd as the Russia nonsense is, the details about Trump’s sleazy associates, the porn star, the Playboy playmate and his seedy business practices leave his supporters feeling queasy, even if he hasn’t committed any crimes.

Instead of joining a fight that will make his most ardent supporters cringe no matter how it comes out, why not choose a battleground where he’s guaranteed a win? If Trump used the military to build the wall — actually build it, not keep telling us he’s going to build it — the Democrats will go mad.

They’ll hold impeachment hearings, file a million lawsuits, produce weeping children reading from phony scripts written by immigrant rights groups — and Trump will win. The public will support Trump overwhelmingly, and the left will be forced to keep reminding voters why they hate Democrats.

Instead, what he’s doing now absolutely guarantees that the next president will be a Democrat and, given today’s Democratic Party, that president will be Kamala Harris.

Reported By Jack Davis | December 18, 2018 at 9:29am

A 7-year-old Guatemalan girl who tried to enter the U.S. with her father earlier this month died from sepsis shock, according to the Department of Homeland Security. DHS released a statement about her death on its Facebook page.

“After completing a days-long, dangerous journey through remote and barren terrain, the child, who according to the father had not been able to consume water or food for days, began vomiting, went into sepsis shock and after receiving emergency treatment from U.S. Border Patrol Emergency Response Technicians (EMTs), air paramedics and emergency room personnel, died,” the department said Friday.

The statement said that during an “initial screening” after Jakelin Caal Maquin and her father, Nery Gilberto Caal Cuz, were detained on Dec. 6, “the father denied that either he or his daughter were ill. This denial was recorded on Form I-779 signed by the father. At this time, they were offered water and food and had access to restrooms.”

The statement said that the next morning, as a group of detainees was being transported on a bus, “the father advised Border Patrol agents that his child had become sick and was vomiting. Out of an abundance of caution, agents immediately requested that an EMT meet the bus on arrival at the Lordsburg station.”

By the time she arrived at 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, “the father notified agents that the child was not breathing. Border Patrol EMTs began medical care and requested an ambulance. At this point her temperature was 105.9 degrees. Agents providing medical care revived the child twice.”

A helicopter flew the girl to Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas, but she died there the next morning, the statement said.

“The initial indication from the Providence Hospital is that she passed due to sepsis shock,” the statement said.

The statement closed with a warning to families.

“As we have repeatedly said, traveling north illegally into the United States is extremely dangerous. Drug cartels, human smugglers and the elements pose deadly risks to anyone who attempts to cross the border illegally. Once again, we are begging parents to not put themselves or their children at risk by attempting to enter illegally. Please, we are begging you, present yourselves and your children at a port of entry and seek to enter legally and safely,” it said.

The DHS investigation is not sufficient for lawyers who represent the girl’s family. They have called for an outside probe that “will assess this incident within nationally recognized standards for the arrest and custody of children. The family intends to assist in such an investigation into the cause and circumstances of Jakelin’s death,” according to CNN.

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are also planning to visit the site where she was taken ill, according to WILX-TV.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines sepsis as “the body’s extreme response to an infection. It is a life-threatening medical emergency.”

“Sepsis happens when an infection you already have — in your skin, lungs, urinary tract, or somewhere else — triggers a chain reaction throughout your body. Without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death,” according to the CDC.

He was deported in 2014… but ‘somehow’ managed to come back to maim or kill some Americans in 2018.

While Schumer is fighting like hell to keep the borders open and cities in California and elsewhere are working hard to undermine the work of ICE, keep stories like this one in mind. Because there is a real human cost paid by both of those political ‘open-borders’ agendas. A real cost that our President has chosen to recognize as ‘Angel Families’.

And this punk just added some more families to that unfortunate list. Not that Schumer or Pelosi seem to care about them.

This is the guy that Democrats say isn’t really a meaningful threat to American Citizens. He’s just here for a ‘better life’… or something.

Authorities say 36-year-old Gustavo Garcia of Visalia killed a man and wounded several other people in apparently random shootings that started Sunday. He also robbed a convenience store, carjacked a truck, fired shots at his ex-girlfriend’s house, and finally injured four people in wrong-way car crashes on State Route 65 before he was flung from the car and died Monday morning.

Tulare County Sheriff Mike Bourdreaux says a motive is unclear but may have involved an ended relationship.

He also says Garcia had a long criminal history and was deported from the U.S. in 2014.

Here’s what’s left of the truck he stole at gunpoint:

Watch the News report here:

In attacks on apparently random strangers, Garcia also killed a man at a gas station convenience store, shot and wounded a farmworker in an orchard and a woman at a motel, carjacked other farmworkers and robbed a convenience store at gunpoint, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said.

He also fired shots in the backyard of his ex-girlfriend’s Visalia home as she and her children were inside and may have committed as many as a dozen crimes during a ‘rampage’ that began Sunday afternoon, he said.
Source: DailyMail

Had Garcia STAYED out of the country after being deported, all these people would still be alive and unharmed today. But Democrats are actively making it HARD to keep people like Garcia out. They pull on heartstrings, they use language like ‘temper tantrums’ to belittle the President taking a stand. But what they WON’T do is be held to account for the needless death of Rocky Paul Jones, whose only offense was being in Garcia’s way in a State that neither keeps criminals out, nor turns them in.

But Democrats try to claim WE are the heartless ones?

Oh really? Will a SINGLE Democrat dare show their faces at any of the funerals that would never have been planned if Garcia hadn’t been here in the first place?

We already know the answer to that question… don’t we? Is there any wonder we’re so fired up about having Trump take a stand over the wall?

Written by Wes Walker on December 18, 2018

This will bring a little Christmas cheer to even the most cynical humbug. Seeing someone sick with a serious illness is tough enough. Seeing a kid with one is even worse. But when the doctors say nothing can be done? It’s out of your hands. Many people pray — or say they will — in such a situation. They hope for a miracle, but often as not don’t really expect one. But every so often, the impossible happens.

Some may chalk her recovery up to some kind of a rigidly rational explanation. But explanations like those are difficult to produce with a result like the one eleven-year-old Roxli Doss just saw.

Total recovery. On a type of cancer with no known cure.

“The doctors guide us, but really the true guidance that we’re looking for is from God because that’s who we need our help from right now, and we’re really just praying for a miracle,” her father told local station KVUE in August.

Though it was thought to be impossible, the little girl’s tumor has vanished and she is back to doing what she loves — riding horses.

“When I first saw Roxli’s MRI scan, it was actually unbelievable,” Dr. Virginia Harrod with Dell Children’s Medical Center told KVUE. “The tumor is undetectable on the MRI scan, which is really unusual.”

The station reports that doctors double checked her scans just to confirm the results, and there is no sign of the tumor. Still, doctors are watching her closely and she will continue to undergo treatments, such as immunotherapy, as a precaution.
Source: GatewayPundit

She gets to go on being a kid and living her life. You can bet that she’ll have a much greater sense of what a precious gift that life really is.

God’s blessing on her and her family as they get to enjoy another Christmas together when that outcome wasn’t always so certain.

Reported by Dr. Michael L. Brown – Guest Columnist | Tuesday, December 18, 2018 | http://www.askdrbrown.org/

Michael BrownI pray that someday they see the light, but zealous supporters of “gay Christianity” can have their “progressive” religion. I’ll stick with the Jesus of the Bible – the Jesus who liberates and transforms, the Jesus who doesn’t affirm us in our sin but delivers us out of it.

So-called “progressive” Christians love to bash conservative Christians. They call us dinosaurs. They mock us as outdated fundamentalists. They taunt us as “Bible bashers.” They claim to be the enlightened ones, and they celebrate their departure from the “traditional church.” But the reality is that they are simply following the spirit of the age, swimming with the current cultural tide rather than against it. In the name of conformity to Jesus, they are being conformed to the world. How ironic.

On Saturday night, while working on a major book project at my computer, I noticed a tweet from a “progressive” pastor. I had reached out him to several times before, but always without response. He wrote, quite out of the blue:

“When hopelessly phobic people of faith like @DrMichaelLBrown claim that God is against ‘homosexual practice.’ #ThatsNotAThing”

As soon as I spotted the tweet, I replied:

“Hey John, I’ve reached out to you on several occasions, always without response. Rather than engage in baseless (and silly) name-calling, let’s a have a mature, scripture-based, minister-to-minister dialog. You’re welcome on my show any time. Why not?”

For the record, he still has not replied to my invitations – not once, ever – and I continue to reach out to him. But despite his lack of response, I decided to engage some of his followers. Talk about enlightening!

The first thing that became immediately evident was this. There was virtually no substantive interaction. Instead, there was mockery and insult and misrepresentation, making me wonder out loud, “What’s so scary about the truth?”

It started out of the gate with this pastor maligning me as “hopelessly phobic” (for reaching out to the LGBT community with the truth of the gospel while opposing radical LGBT activism). And, remarkably, while the Bible consistently and categorically opposes homosexual practice (meaning, same-sex relationships and sexual acts) a pastor – yes, a pastor – came against me for standing with God’s Word.

How dare I – how dare you – do such a thing. How dare you agree with Scripture. How dare you affirm that the Lord’s ways are best. That is so 1950s!

Rather than interact with a single thing I said, he later posted:

“Michael thinks LGBTQ people can NOT be LGBTQ. Michael thinks you can pray the gay away. Michael preys upon already marginalized people. Michael thinks other people’s bedrooms and body parts are his business. Don’t be like Michael.”

'Progressive' ChristianityNow, you would think it would trouble a pastor to post blatant falsehoods about other people, but when you’re “progressive,” you’re morally superior, which means you are the judge of the motives of others. You determine what they really think and believe, despite what they say and do. In the name of not judging, you are now the judge!

Of course, the issue is not what “Michael” thinks but what God says. That’s why, later in the night, I posted this:

“To all professing LGBT Christians and their allies: Please give me just ONE explicit verse in the Bible where God sanctions same-sex relationships. Just one. You know already there are clear verses saying the opposite.”

Not a single one gave me a single supporting verse. How telling!

In direct response to the pastor’s tweet, I wrote:

“John, by God’s grace, I know MANY ex-gays and lesbians who are so thankful for new life in Jesus. And I continue to have fruitful ministry around the world, NOT focused on LGBT issues. I have simply responded to biblical deception and radical activism. You have accommodated sin.”

How did he reply? He tweeted:

“No you don’t. You know people who you and others have badgered into modifying their behavior to stay in community. You’ve squandered your time here and you’ve caused irreparable harm to already marginalized people. That’s on you.”

Are you detecting a pattern? This “progressive” pastor has the right to misrepresent me publicly because, well, he’s progressive, so it must be right. He has the right to put words into my mouth (like “pray away the gay”) and make inane and ridiculous comments (such as the bedroom remarks), no matter how farfetched they may be.

But since, in his eyes, I’m a Bible-bashing religious fundamentalist and he’s a liberated progressive, his perceptions are the truth. Who cares about facts? Who cares about Scripture?

Not only so, he claims the right to deny the very real stories of thousands of ex-gays, people who, with God’s help, have left homosexual practice and gay identity behind. They do not exist. They cannot exist. If they did, it would cause his house of sand to collapse in an instant. It would mean that Jesus can change anyone.

So, in the name of standing with the marginalized, he casts out and mocks the most marginalized group in America today: ex-gays. This is the heart of Jesus? This is pursuing righteousness? This is practicing mercy?

The “progressives” also fail to realize that they are joining forces with those who want to take away rights, who want to silence Christians, who want to impose their ideology, who want to penalize all dissenters. (Yes, I’m talking about LGBT extremists and their allies, sometimes known as the pink mafia for a reason. I and many others have documented this steadily for years.)

And when it comes to fealty to the Word of God, the Twitter interaction proved extremely interesting.

Queen James BibleA professing gay Christian tweeted with joy about his upcoming wedding to his partner, telling me the Scripture he would use at the event. When I came back to him with other scriptures about same-sex relationships, he told me plainly that the Bible was not his final authority and that God was bigger than a book. Fascinating!

When I challenged a zealous supporter of “gay Christianity” when she simply repeated the standard, LGBT theological talking points, she told me I was obviously not a scholar. How dare I set the record straight. How dare I share the fruit of decades of serious academic study of the Scriptures (in their cultural context and in their original languages, with due attention to the Spirit’s intent). How dare I rely on the best research by the best scholars. How dare I burst her bubble.

Of course, when I asked her for a verse to back her points, she had none. When I presented her with verses that rebutted hers, she had vacuous talking points and nothing more.

But she was progressive, and I was not. Of course she was right. Of course I was not a scholar.

What I experienced over the course of hours of interaction with scores of different people was a steady tide of condescending, name-calling, biblically-bankrupt, and morally-hypocritical rhetoric, and all of it devoid of a single substantive response.

So, these folks can have their “progressive” religion (although I pray they’ll see the light). I’ll stay with the Jesus of the Bible, the Jesus who liberates and transforms, the Jesus who doesn’t affirm us in our sin but delivers us out of it.

He was good enough for the last 2,000 years. He’ll be good enough for eternity.

The good folk of Paradise, California, have likely tamped down their expectations for this Christmas season. With most of the homes destroyed by the Camp Fire just last month, it’s going to be a scramble to get family, food, and presents together for a celebration. But Pastor Tim Bolin of Paradise Alliance Church says there’s at least one thing that’s coming together for the community.

“We’re going to do a Christmas Eve service in our building,” he tells OneNewsNow. “Our electric company just hooked our power up today, and our water company hooked us up today so we can get the main auditorium cleaned out.”

With a theme of “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” the event “could be a launching point of hope and of Christmas and of Christ and the gospel,” says the pastor.

So on this one day, perhaps for just a few hours, the community can think about “Joy to the World” and “O Holy Night” and maybe even “Jingle Bells” – instead of how they’ve seen fire and they’ve seen rain.

“Our church holds about 1,200 people, and with the whole community and all the churches involved we think we’re going to need three services,”Bolin reports. “We’re going to make a path to our church from the valley so people can come up and go to service with us that day.”

Samaritan’s Purse will be on hand to serve about 3,500 dinner boxes for people who attend – a Christmas blessing that will truly allow them to be home for Christmas.

census worker

A U.S. census analyst and experienced attorney questions whether President Donald Trump is being treated fairly on an issue concerning a citizenship question for the 2020 census.

As a first of its kind, a field test for the 2020 census form will be administered to thousands of U.S. households next year – and it will include this question: “Is this person a citizen of the United States?” As OneNewsNow reported earlier, it’s a question that has not been void of controversy.

Liberals consider it intrusive to ask a person’s citizenship as part of the census because … (Select up to 2)
It’s not really that important to liberalsIt threatens illegals (‘potential voters’)Trump is in the White HouseThey’re already a ‘citizen’ by virtue of being here

However, Justin Torres suggests the ploy to contest the question is much ado about nothing. The D.C.-based attorney at Schaerr | Jaffe LLP explains to OneNewsNow that, in fact, the “citizenship question has been asked in one form or another for a long time,” including the 19th century, and “every census through the 20th century – up through 1950.”

The question has also been asked every year for at least the past 15 years in the American Community Survey, according to Torres, who describes it as “a survey that the Census Bureau sends out to a sampling of American households to get demographic and other data from them.”

Torres

While the attorney agrees there have always been accusations about the inaccuracy of responses to a citizenship question, he points out there is “a fairly long vetted history of asking this question and no evidence that has been brought forward, besides speculation, that people are going to refuse to answer the question – or answer it incorrectly.”

“The minute you get beyond a simple counting of noses and you start asking for data,” Torres explains, “there is no fail-proof method of ensuring that the data is accurate.” Consequently, the census analyst says, results are compared to other forms of data that are available, including Social Security registrations, veterans’ records, and “things like that which help determine whether we have what seems like a reasonable answer here or not.”

Addressing what Torres describes as a “broader phenomenon” is the use of administrative law.

“[That’s] the law that deals with [government] agencies,” he says, pointing specifically to “the judicial review of federal and state agency action to determine if there’s a reasonable non-arbitrary process that [produces] agency decisions.”

“One of the fundamental principles of administrative law,” Torres explains, “is that courts will defer to the agency action when there is a reasoned explanation for that action.” This does not mean a court must “decide whether the action is wise or prudent or just,” but he says the court simply “has to have a reasoned explanation.”

However, over the past two years, he reports, “it turns out that some of those rules may have a sort of ‘Trump-only exception’ where courts are willing to be much more intrusive in looking into the decision-making processes of a federal agency” particularly when “they work for Donald Trump.” And this, he adds, can be seen in a variety of areas, including environmental litigation and “all of the litigation relating to immigration.”

Torres describes it as “a very unusual and not an entirely understandable impulse that these courts seem to have” when applying the administrative law.

“It raises the question of whether Donald Trump is being treated the way presidents have been treated throughout modern American history,”Torres emphasizes – concluding that “there’s a strong argument that [President Trump is] not being treated the same way” as he pursues inclusion of the citizenship question in the 2020 census.”

Associated Press | Monday December 17, 2018

WASHINGTON (December 17, 2018) — A federal judge’s ruling would, if upheld, wipe away the entire Affordable Care Act, the health care overhaul championed by President Barack Obama and twice sustained by the Supreme Court.

Judge Reed O’Connor’s opinion was issued late Friday and supporters of the law vowed to appeal and take other steps to preserve health benefits in the law sometimes called Obamacare. (See weekend story)

Some questions and answers about O’Connor’s ruling:

WHAT IS THE IMMEDIATE EFFECT OF THE RULING FOR AMERICANS COVERED UNDER THE ACA?

In a word, nothing. Although O’Connor said the entire law must fall, he did not grant a request from its opponents to have his ruling take effect immediately. That means that all the law’s provisions remain in effect. The federal Health and Human Services Department put out a statement making clear that it “will continue administering and enforcing all aspects of the ACA as it had before the court issued its decision.”

HOW WOULD THE AVERAGE PERSON’S HEALTH CARE BE AFFECTED IF THE RULING IS UPHELD?

The impact would go well beyond the more than 20 million people who are directly covered through the Obama health law.

More than 170 million Americans are covered by employers and they could lose no-cost preventive care, from screening tests like colonoscopies to birth control for women. Employers would no longer be required to keep young adult children of their workers covered up to age 26. Gone would be limits on annual out-of-pocket expenses, which provide greater financial protection for people with job-based coverage. Another kind of limit — lifetime caps on what insurance will pay for medical bills — could stage a comeback.

Medicare would be affected because the ACA expanded no-cost coverage of preventive services and reduced the bills of seniors with high prescription drug costs. Program finances would also take a hit. Medicaid, the federal-state program for low-income people, was expanded under the ACA. So about 12 million people who gained coverage could be left uninsured. Efforts to counter the opioid epidemic would be dealt a severe blow, since Medicaid has become a mainstay for treatment.

HealthCare.gov and state insurance markets offering subsidized private insurance would disappear, potentially leaving 10 million people or more uninsured.

WHAT WAS THE JUDGE’S REASONING IN STRIKING DOWN THE ENTIRE HEALTH CARE LAW?

A key part of the Affordable Care Act that Obama signed into law in 2010 was the provision requiring people to have health insurance or pay a penalty if they refused. The Supreme Court upheld this individual mandate in 2012. Congress reduced that penalty to zero as part of the tax legislation it passed and President Donald Trump signed in 2017. That means that beginning in January, there no longer will be a penalty for not purchasing health insurance.

O’Connor agreed with Texas and other Republican-led states that challenged the law that the elimination of the penalty rendered the requirement to have health insurance unconstitutional. In a crucial step in his logic, O’Connor then held that because the individual mandate is so important to the overall law, the whole thing can no longer stand. The legal explanation is that O’Connor found that the mandate could not be severed from the rest of the law, meaning he struck it down in its entirety.

HOW LIKELY IS IT THAT HIGHER COURTS WILL AGREE WITH O’CONNOR’S RULING?

Even some opponents of the health care law, including the Wall Street Journal editorial page, have said O’Connor went too far and predicted he would be reversed in the appeals process. Congress did indeed render the individual mandate unenforceable when it reduced the penalty for not complying to zero. But that very same Congress left the rest of the law intact. What’s more, Republican efforts to repeal the ACA failed in the same Congress. In addition, even if the federal appeals court that oversees Texas were to agree with O’Connor, it seems improbable at best that Chief Justice John Roberts, who twice wrote opinions upholding the law — in 2012 and 2015, would now strike it down.

WHO WILL APPEAL THE RULING, AND HOW LONG MIGHT THE PROCESS TAKE?

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, the leader of a coalition of states defending the law in court, already has promised to appeal. The process will take months at a minimum, even with the states pressing for a speedy resolution because of the uncertainty O’Connor’s ruling creates and the potential effects on the insurance markets.

If the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit reverses O’Connor, chances that the Supreme Court would hear the case are slim. If the 5th Circuit agrees with O’Connor, high court review becomes very likely because the justices almost always weigh in when a federal law has been struck down. But even then, the Supreme Court wouldn’t hear the case before the fall of 2019 at the earliest, with a decision unlikely before the spring of 2020 — in the midst of the presidential and congressional campaigns.

Friday, December 14, 2018 | Bryan Fischer – Guest Columnist | http://on.fb.me/1pFPvvd

Bryan FischerGiven the direction our society is headed, and its willingness to sacrifice children to the god of sexual perversion, Lisa Miller may not be the last mother who needs a modern version of the Underground Railroad to deliver her child from evil.

Philip Zodhiates went to prison last week, convicted of helping a mother use a modern version of the Underground Railroad to protect her child from the clear and present danger of being raised in a homosexual household.  If judges would follow the laws the voters had instituted instead of imposing their viewpoints, Zodhiates would be free and another man would have never served three years in prison.

Here is a quick summary of the history of this case (related articles). Lisa Miller is the mom in question. She grew up in a sexually and emotionally abusive household, where a rancorous divorce between her parents left her shaken and insecure. Her own mother poisoned her mind against males, by repeatedly telling her that “all men are evil.”

Lisa entered into a troubled marriage at a young age, a marriage that didn’t last and left her seeking therapy for depression and suicidal thoughts. Her therapists—on at least two occasions—suggested that she experiment with lesbianism. And so she did, even though, in her own words, “I did not feel sexually attracted to women.”

She eventually hooked up with Janet Jenkins at an AA meeting, and though they lived in Virginia where such a relationship had exactly zero legal status, they entered into a civil union in the state of Vermont in 2000.

Lisa conceived a child through artificial insemination in Virginia (according to Lisa, Janet did not even accompany her to the fertility specialist for the procedure), where Isabella was born in 2002. Again, mind you, in a state where civil unions had no legal recognition whatsoever.

Four months after the birth of Lisa’s daughter, the lesbian couple moved to Vermont.

Despite repeated appeals from Lisa, Janet refused to consider formally adopting Isabella. During their time in Vermont, Lisa converted to Christianity, and at the same time, Janet became increasingly abusive, both emotionally and physically. Ms. Jenkins had an explosive temper, and posted pictures of naked women on the screensaver of the household computer to boot.

Lisa left the relationship and eventually the state of Vermont when Isabella was 17 months old, moving back to Virginia for her own protection and the protection of her child. There, Lisa continued to grow in her Christian faith and left the lesbian lifestyle altogether. She filed to dissolve her civil union with Ms. Jenkins in 2003.

The civil union was dissolved in Vermont, and even though Lisa lived in Virginia where such orders had no legal force, she reluctantly and only under compulsion complied with an order from the Rutland County Family Court to allow Isabella to visit Ms. Jenkins in Vermont.

The Vermont judge granted parental status to Ms. Jenkins in violation of Vermont state law, which grants parental rights only to adults who have a connection to the child either through biology or adoption. Ms. Jenkins, of course, met neither standard.

It’s worthy of note that in the four years between the time Lisa left the relationship, taking Isabella with her, and the court-ordered visitations began, Ms. Jenkins did not once, during all that time, bother to phone Isabella, or send her a note, a card, or so much as a birthday or Christmas present. Not once in four years.

Lisa was deeply disturbed, as any mother would be, by what happened to her precious daughter when she spent weekends with Ms. Jenkins.

When Isabella would return from her weekends with Ms. Jenkins, she experienced severe reactions. She suffered from nightmares and bedwetting. She was filled with fear that Ms. Jenkins would make good on her threat to take her away from the only mother she had ever known. She tried to harm herself and showed signs of sexual molestation, touching herself inappropriately and sexually.

Lisa pleaded with the Vermont judge to allow only supervised visitations, but the judge flatly refused even to consider the evidence of Isabella’s violent reactions.

Lisa, at that point, had no choice as a loving parent but to stop complying with the court ordered visitations for the safety of her own daughter. She would have been morally and in fact criminally negligent had she allowed her daughter to go even one more time into an environment that was an obvious threat to her emotional, physical and sexual health.

To make the cheese even more binding, the Virginia judge before whom Lisa appeared ruled in 2004 that Lisa “solely has the legal rights, privileges, duties and obligations as parent hereby established for the health, safety and welfare” of Isabella. No other person, wrote the judge, “has any claims of parentage or visitation rights.”

Although the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision of 2015 radically altered the marital landscape, Virginia had enacted a marriage affirmation act on July 1, 2004, which was absolutely unambiguous. It not only prohibited recognition of civil unions in Virginia “between persons of the same sex purporting to bestow the privileges or obligations of marriage,” it declared flatly that civil unions performed in other states “shall be void in all respects in Virginia, and any contractual rights created thereby shall be void and unenforceable.”

Sadly, not only did the Vermont judge break Vermont law by awarding parental status to Ms. Jenkins, the Virginia Supreme Court broke its own law by overruling the lower judge in Virginia and granting the judge in Vermont the unprecedented right to dictate family structure to a resident of the state of Virginia. In so doing, the Virginia court not only broke Virginia state law but federal law as well, since the Defense of Marriage Act, the law in effect at the time, was passed precisely for the purpose of preventing one state from dictating family policy to another.

So with multiple judges conspiring to break the laws of their own respective states and the laws of the United States, the Vermont judge, angry with Lisa for protecting her daughter from the abusive treatment she was receiving from Ms. Jenkins, granted sole custody to Ms. Jenkins and ordered Lisa to turn her over full-time to her abuser on January 1, 2010.

Lisa and her daughter disappeared in September of 2009, and now are evidently living in Central America.

Kenneth Miller (no relation), the leader of a Beachy Amish Mennonite church in Virginia, was prosecuted, convicted, and incarcerated for his alleged part in making travel arrangements for mother and daughter to Canada and from Canada to Managua, Nicaragua.

Image result for disbelief gif

However, even the New York Times admits that Lisa was still legally free to make a flight at that time and that a warrant for her arrest was not issued until months later. So this pastor went to prison for three years for helping a mother plan a perfectly legal trip.

Now a second man, Philip Zodhiates, has been convicted of “an international kidnapping” for his alleged role in helping Lisa’s daughter escape the prison house of lesbianism and make it to safety in Central America.

My sympathies are entirely with the now Christian mother who repented of her homosexuality and also with the two Christian men in this circumstance.

The left came unhinged and accused me of supporting kidnapping raids on homosexual households to snatch children from their beds. I, of course, have suggested no such thing.

In fact, I was trying to prevent a kidnapping, a judicial kidnapping orchestrated by a judge marching in goose step with Big Gay and seeking to snatch a vulnerable young child from the only mother she had ever known and forcing the child into a same-sex household where there was clear evidence of a train of life-scarring abuse.

I submit that it is not Lisa Miller nor these two men who have broken the law. The judges in Vermont and Virginia are the true lawbreakers here. They issued rulings at variance not only with the laws of their respective states but also with the laws of nature and nature’s God.

An illegal order has no force of law, either legally or morally. You can check with Martin Luther King, Jr. on that one.

I do not see that this mother had any other option in exercising her unalienable, God-given right to direct the upbringing of her daughter. What loving parent would consent to such an outrageous, unethical, immoral and flatly illegal order, even if issued by a tyrant wearing a black robe? If we are a nation of laws, then this judge’s order had no validity and Lisa was under no moral obligation to obey it, particularly when to do so would have meant the sacrifice of her daughter’s sexual innocence and safety.

Peter famously said, in Acts 5:29, “We must obey God rather than men.” If a mother and those who care for her are faced with a choice between doing what man commands them to do and what God directs them to do, they must follow the voice of God, especially when vulnerable young children are the ones at risk.

If there was ever a time for a parent and pastor to obey God rather than man, this was it.

This is not the only instance where similar reprehensible things have happened. A caller to my radio program told my listening audience about the sad saga of a personal friend of his. This woman’s husband left her to enter into the homosexual lifestyle after conceiving a child with her.

After the divorce, the ex-husband demanded custody, even though he had moved to a different state with his homosexual lover, and was awarded it by a judge on the grounds that the child would be better off in a home with two parents, even of the same sex, than in a household with just one. This mother will now only rarely even be able to see her child because of the distance and cost of travel.

Given the direction our society is headed, and its willingness to sacrifice children to the god of sexual perversion, Lisa Miller may not be the last mother who needs a modern version of the Underground Railroad to deliver her child from evil.

A survey shows a noticeable decline in Americans linking Christmas to the birth of Jesus, and a Christian apologist predicts that number will keep dropping.

According to Lifeway Research, 65 percent of Americans say Christmas should be more about Jesus. While that may figure may seem full of Christmas cheer, LifeWay found 79 percent of Americans felt that way just four years ago.

“We are in a rapid decline of connecting Jesus to the holiday altogether,” warns J. Warner Wallace, a former cold-case detective, and former atheist, who now writes and speaks about Christianity.

Speaking on American Family Radio, Wallace said Christianity’s claims — including the birth of a Messiah — are not a matter of “personal opinion” but a debate over facts and truths.

“It’s either objectively true or objectively false,” he said.

It’s not in dispute that remembering Christ’s birth came before Santa Claus and Rudolph, with some historians tracing the first recorded Christmas to 336 A.D.   There is dispute among church historians — no surprise — over when and why the Church began celebrating Christ’s birth. One view is that the early Church wanted to steer believers from raucous pagan festivals, such as Saturnalia, a late-December party that was celebrated by the Romans.

While the New Testament is the first source many people read to study Christ’s coming, said Wallace, the Old Testament prophecies should be studied, too.

“There’s great prophecy that doesn’t just describe the birth of the Messiah, but the life of the Messiah, (and) the death of the Messiah,” he said. “There’s so much in biblical prophecy that we could point to.”

There is also a persistent argument that the early Church simply crafted a story to fit the prophecies made hundreds of years earlier, and Wallace told the radio program that is a claim he made as an atheist.

“But as I examined the New Testament to discover if, in fact, the writings of the New Testament were historically reliable,” he explained, “you’re going to have a hard time denying that they were written early, denying that they aren’t corroborated by several forms of internal and external evidence.”

There is also the question of truth: what is the motive for lying?

The detective said he naturally wrestled with that issue  — motive — as a seasoned detective, eventually concluding there is no evidence of lying by the authors.

“So I think what you have,”he says, “is good prophecy that points to something, and a reliable record that says it happened.”

Sheriff’s deputies in a Texas county located 80 miles from the U.S.-Mexico Border reported the recovery of two migrants’ remains who apparently died attempting to circumvent the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint.

On December 11, a Brooks County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher received notice for the discovery of skeletal remains presumed to be those of a deceased migrant. The dispatcher sent Training Officer Ben Gomez to the scene to meet with a ranch hand who discovered the remains and Border Patrol agents, according to Brooks County Sheriff’ Benny Martinez.

The ranch is located west of the Falfurrias Border Patrol Checkpoint located on U.S. Highway 281, about 80 miles from the Mexican border. Human smugglers frequently use this area to drop off their “cargo” and force them on a lengthy march that has led to the deaths for at least 48 migrants in Brooks County this year.

Gomez met up with the Border Patrol agents who escorted him 7.6 miles into the ranch where workers found the remains. Only the migrant’s skull and a small piece of bone were present. The remainder could not be found after they were presumably hauled away by animals.

The remains were transported to the sheriff’s office where a local justice of the peace made the formal death declaration. The remains will be transported to the Webb County Medical Examiners Office in Laredo, Texas, where officials will attempt to identify and make family notifications. No documents were found at the scene.

On December 1, Brooks County dispatchers sent Deputy Brenda Ligas to another ranch in the same part of the county following a report that a ranch hand found another set of skeletal remains, local officials reported earlier this week. Scattered remains were reportedly found while a hand was discing a field.

Officials recovered a skull and mandible, along with numerous other bones. A search of the area resulted in the recovery of several articles of clothing and two Honduran passports which could help identify the deceased migrant. Both bore the name Felix Antonio Godoy Ramos, a 43-year-old Honduran national. It is not known if these passports actually belonged to the deceased migrant.

The remains were transported to the Webb County Medical Examiner, who will attempt to verify identity.

The remains discovered this month bring the death toll in this single Texas county to at least 48, local officials reported.

In 2018, at least 226 migrants died in Texas while crossing the U.S. border or during smuggling into the U.S. interior, according to the International Organization for Migrants’ Missing Migrant Project. Nationally, that number climbed to at least 373 in the same period. An exact number is not known because many deceased migrants are never found.

The number of reported deaths this year rose by nearly nine percent over 2017.

When George Orwell famously wrote about a dystopian future where your every thought is monitored, he shouldn’t have set it in Great Britain. It would have been much more accurate had he instead written about American college campuses. We’ve known about the alarming trend of coddling and control at colleges for a while, but it may be getting worse. At the publicly-funded University of Montana Western, college administrators seem to be doing their best Big Brother impressions.

That university recently published a policy which threatens punitive action against students for making — wait for it — “mean facial expressions.”

Image result for What did you say gif

“While discussions may become heated and passionate, they should never become mean, nasty or vindictive in spoken or printed or emailed words, facial expressions, or gestures,” the official Civility Standards at Montana Western declare.

Who decides what a mean facial expression looks like? Nobody seems to know.

“The policy says students must promote an atmosphere of civility and that their discussions should never become ‘mean, nasty, or vindictive,’ but those are all entirely subjective terms that could be applied to punish constitutionally protected speech,” Laura Beltz of the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education explained to Campus Reform.

She’s right: People use a variety of facial expressions when upset, flustered or merely just excited. If you roll your eyes or raise your eyebrows, is your academic career over?

“If it is the responsibility for students to uphold these standards, it follows that they may be punished for perceived violations of these standards, in this case, for failing to promote civility or for having a discussion that is deemed mean, nasty, or vindictive,” Beltz pointed out.

Image result for you cannot be serious gif

Being punished for making a face seems like something that belongs in kindergarten, not a major university attended by serious young adults. But that certainly seems to be how the policy is written.

“According to the policy, violations of the Student Code of Conduct can result in suspension of a student’s technology account, suspension, or in extreme cases, expulsion,” explained Campus Reform.

“Even if the policy isn’t actually applied that way, students who read the policy and see how vague it is are likely to self-censor instead of taking the risk that something they say will be seen as mean, nasty, vindictive, or not civil,” Beltz added. “This sort of chilling effect on protected speech is unacceptable at a public university like Montana Western.”

If someone doesn’t think these kinds of policies could be used to infringe on free speech and inspire proverbial witch hunts, they probably haven’t been paying attention.

We’ve already seen hysterical reactions to imagined “hate crimes,” which more often than not turn out to be wildly exaggerated or blatant hoaxes. And as everyone from the Duke lacrosse team to Rolling Stone magazine found out, due process can be quickly tossed aside when there’s a social justice crusade.

There have also been countless cases of free speech infringement throughout American campuses, and students with conservative views are often the ones being silenced.

Everyone agrees that civility is important. But by trying to monitor and enforce every element of human interaction and speech, down to which facial expressions somebody uses during a debate, campus busy-bodies have lost the plot.

The real world is not a safe space free of triggering facial expressions and terrifying eye rolls, and it’s ridiculous to pretend that this is what increasingly irrelevant universities need. Let’s try more freedom of speech, not less.

This week, I did something that USA Today‘s executive leadership apparently hadn’t done lately: I read the newspaper’s “principles of ethical conduct for newsrooms.”

It’s pretty highfalutin. The media manifesto of virtue, posted online, applies to all employees “working with any news platform, including newspapers, websites, mobile devices, video, social media channels and live story events.” Whether writing online or covering breaking developments, USA Today‘s journalists are supposedly committed to:

  • Seeking and reporting the truth in a truthful way.
  • Serving the public interest.
  • Exercising fair play.
  • Acting with integrity.

Kyler Murray (Heisman winner 2018)Now, let’s compare the lofty rhetoric with low-blow reality. On Sunday, 21-year-old University of Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray (right) won the Heisman Trophy. He gave a gracious, emotional speech that celebrated his faith in God, respect for his fellow athletes, love of family, lifelong work ethic and team spirit.

“I’ve worked my whole life to fulfill my goals, but at the same time, I know there’s a higher power looking down on me. He enables me to do all things. For that I’m grateful – for the many blessings that God has blessed me with,” Murray humbly told reporters.

But one reporter wasn’t interested in covering the actual news of the Heisman winner’s triumph. He was interested in sabotaging it. Within hours of the press conference, USA Today sports writer Scott Gleeson penned an article attacking Murray for posting “tweets using an anti-gay slur.” Murray and family awoke Monday morning to a barrage of character smears slamming his “homophobic” posts from six years ago – when Murray was 14 or 15 years old and jokingly called his friends “queer.” Google is now clogged with wall-to-wall coverage of his teenage antics from CNN to The Today Show to every sports outlet and his hometown Oklahoma newspaper.

Gleeson’s hit piece reeks of deceptive vigilantism, not journalism. After noting that Murray had a “Saturday to remember,” Gleeson wrote that “the Oklahoma quarterback’s memorable night also helped resurface social media’s memory of several homophobic tweets more than six years old.”

Who “resurfaced social media’s memory?” Why, it was Gleeson himself! By creating an illusion that Murray’s schoolboy tweets were the subject of any scrutiny and outrage other than Gleeson’s own, USA Today gave us a shining example of the manufacturing of fake news. Ain’t misleading passive voice grand?

Indeed, Gleeson’s own biography is one of a social justice advocate dedicated to identity politics propaganda. “My enterprise and human interest work on the LGBT movement in sports made me an APSE award finalist in 2016 and a USBWA award winner in 2017,” Gleeson boasts. Was he aiming for another award with his ambush of Murray? Gleeson certainly got his new scalp and paraded it prominently, with aiding and abetting by USA Today‘s silent, AWOL editors. Within hours of publication, Murray had apologized.

Gleeson’s new headline blared: “Kyler Murray apologizes for homophobic tweets that resurfaced after he won Heisman Trophy.”

On Tuesday, I wrote to USA Today‘s editor in chief Nicole Carroll and executive editor for news Jeff Taylor with the following questions:

  • How does Gleeson’s article comport with USA Today‘s stated principles of ethical conduct for newsrooms?
  • Specifically, how did the piece “serve the public interest,” “exercise fair play,” exhibit “fairness in relations with people unaccustomed to dealing with news media,” observe “standards of decency” and demonstrate “integrity”?
  • And have there been any executive leadership discussions about the piece since its publication and widespread public backlash?

The editors have not responded yet. In the meantime, I have more questions.

How does lying in wait in for unknown months or years (when Gleeson could have “resurfaced” the old tweets at any time) and publishing a smear in the middle of the night before giving Murray a chance to respond comport with the newspaper’s promises that:

  • “We will be honest in the way we gather, report and present news — with relevancy, persistence, context, thoroughness, balance, and fairness in mind.
  • “We will seek to gain understanding of the communities, individuals and issues we cover to provide an informed account of activities.
  • “We will uphold First Amendment principles to serve the democratic process.
  • “We will reflect and encourage understanding of the diverse segments of our community.
  • “We will provide editorial and community leadership.
  • “We will treat people with respect and compassion.
  • “We will strive to include all sides relevant to a story.
  • “We will give particular attention to fairness in relations with people unaccustomed to dealing with the news media.
  • “We will act honorably and ethically in dealing with news sources, the public and our colleagues.
  • “We will observe standards of decency.”

Will the editors respond publicly to criticism and address readers and employees so that their actions match these words?

  • “We will explain to audiences our journalistic processes to promote transparency and engagement.
  • “We will correct errors promptly.
  • “We will take responsibility for our decisions and consider the possible consequences of our actions.”

Tick tock.

We’ve all seen the eye-opening images: Hordes of people from migrant “caravans” have moved from Central America into Mexico, pushing past border checkpoints and clashing with officials. Thousands of those migrants are now near the U.S.-Mexico border, creating chaos in places like Tijuana. All the while, the left has insisted that they’re merely fleeing oppression and want “a better life,” which America is apparently obliged to give them.

But a shocking update from those same migrants is casting doubt on the liberal narrative. The caravans are now making demands from the United States, and it’s almost impossible to see it as anything other than mass extortion.

According to The San Diego Union Tribune, caravan members marched on the U.S. consulate in Tijuana and demanded that either they be granted entry across the border, or be paid tens of thousands of dollars.

“Two groups of Central American migrants made separate marches on the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana Tuesday, demanding that they be processed through the asylum system more quickly and in greater numbers,” the newspaper reported.

They’re also demanding “that deportations be halted and that President Trump either let them into the country or pay them $50,000 each to go home.”

Yes, that’s $50,000 per immigrant.

To put that in perspective, the average yearly wage in Mexico is about $15,000 dollars. In Honduras, it’s even less.

Where did that absurd number come from? Caravan organizers declared that it was essentially reparations for what the United States “stole” from Central America.

“It may seem like a lot of money to you,” declared organizer Alfonso Guerrero Ulloa. “But it is a small sum compared to everything the United States has stolen from Honduras.”

It’s worth remembering that the Mexican government previously offered working visas and at least basic jobs for the migrants. The vast majority refused, and chose instead to try to illegally cross border fences — often waving the flags of their home countries. The hostile, almost ransom-like insistence on being paid over three times Mexico’s average annual wage seems to be completely opposite of past claims that their trek was about escaping crime and poverty back home. It looks now like a get-rich-quick scheme that fell apart.

And if the group’s demands are not met? Well, it isn’t clear what they’ll do.

“They gave the U.S. Consulate 72 hours to respond. They said they had not decided what to do if their demands were not met,” stated The San Diego Union Tribune.

“I don’t know, we will decide as a group,” Ulloa said.

Some caravan members essentially admitted that they expected to cut to the front of the immigration line and enter the United States no questions asked, a delusion that was abruptly halted by President Trump.

A lot of people are leaving because there is no solution here,” said Douglas Matute in Tijuana. “We thought they would let us in. But Trump sent the military instead of social workers.”

In one of the most bizarre twists, caravan members blamed their situation on Americans “intervening” in Central America. Their solution? Demand that President Donald Trump intervene in Central America.

“[F]amilies, women and children who have fled our countries continue to suffer and the civil society of Tijuana continue to be forces to confront this humanitarian crisis, a refugee crisis caused in great part by decades of U.S. intervention in Central America,” one of the letters delivered to the American consulate insisted.

Yet intervention is exactly what the groups say they want.

“[T]he majority of [caravan members] are young men who are fleeing from poverty, insecurity and political repression under the dictatorship of Juan Orlando Hernandez,” lamented a second letter, according to The Tribune.

“Orlando Hernandez is the president of Honduras. Their letter also asked the U.S. to remove Orlando Hernandez from office,” the San Diego newspaper explained.

Well, so much for that narrative.

The Lincoln Memorial

It’s a fairly short piece of law, too: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction,” the amendment reads.

It also gives Congress the power to enforce the law.

Now, the traditional anniversary of the end of slavery, at least in the African-American community, is Juneteenth — June 19, the date in 1865 when Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger of the Union Army read the Emancipation Proclamation to slaves in Galveston, Texas. However, when the 13th Amendment celebrated its 153rd birthday on Dec. 6, it didn’t get a whole lot of mention. And what definitely didn’t get mentioned is that it wouldn’t exist if Democrats had their way.

As Ourdocuments.gov notes, “The 13th Amendment was passed at the end of the Civil War before the Southern states had been restored to the Union and should have easily passed the Congress.

“Although the Senate passed it in April 1864, the House did not. At that point, Lincoln took an active role to ensure passage through Congress. He insisted that passage of the 13th Amendment be added to the Republican Party platform for the upcoming presidential elections. His efforts met with success when the House passed the bill in January 1865 with a vote of 119–56.”

Indeed, it had to be ratified before the Southern states rejoined the union. The reason is that the Democrats considered Dixie their own personal fiefdom up until the late 1960s. Jim Crow laws, segregated schools, the KKK, massive resistance, eugenics — all of these things were brought to you by the Democratic Party and vigorously fought by the Republicans.

But, you say, what about the “great switch?” That’s when the Democrats supposedly became the party of racial justice, all put into motion to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Well, yes, about that. The bill couldn’t have passed without Republican support.

Even the U.K. Guardian, of all sources, notes that “80 percent of Republicans in the House and Senate voted for the bill. Less than 70 percent of Democrats did. Indeed, Minority Leader Republican Everett Dirksen led the fight to end the filibuster. Meanwhile, Democrats such as Richard Russell of Georgia and Strom Thurmond of South Carolina tried as hard as they could to sustain a filibuster.”

The vote was taken during the “Solid South” era, where almost every elected official below the Mason-Dixon was a Democrat. Only eight out of 102 representatives from the former Confederacy voted for the bill in the House and one of 22 voted for it in the Senate.

Yet, the fact that the South is now pretty solidly Republican always brings a asking from Democrats, who constantly mistake the new South — the product of economic growth and migration — with the old South they provided over for so many years.

They lament the racism they so successfully fomented for years, as if their party played no role in it. They’ve washed their hands clean. As “penance,” they’ve taken on a different form of identity politics which doesn’t involve standing in the schoolhouse door but is every bit as pernicious.

That’s why the 13th Amendment ought to be celebrated a bit more, we think. Not only did it officially end slavery and passed without Democratic support, it had to be passed before the Southern Democrats could rejoin the Union, lest they continue one of the most evil practices in the history of this planet.

The Democrats have always been the party of oppression and identity politics, whether it be Dec. 6, 1865 or Dec. 6, 2018. If only America would remember that. The Democrats would certainly prefer you didn’t.

A widely respected teacher in Virginia is out of a job and his family now has no income after he committed the gravest of politically-incorrect sins: He used the word “she” to refer to a girl.

On Thursday, Peter Vlaming was released from his teaching position at West Point High School after all five board members voted that his objection to using male pronouns for a female student was a fireable offense.

According to WRIC News, a girl at that school decided that she is transgender, and insisted that everyone call her by a new name. Vlaming had no problem with this, but drew the line at saying “him” and “his” to refer to a student who is biologically female. The teacher and students who know him explained that this wasn’t about purposely insulting the transgender person, but rather about being honest and true to his personal beliefs.

“My religious faith dictates that I am to love and respect everyone, whether I agree with them or not. Because we are all made in God’s image,” Vlaming said in an opening statement at the board meeting which decided his fate.

“I am also aware of, and agree, with speech limits that are placed on public school teachers, concerning matters of religious faith,” the teacher continued. “However, we are here today because a specific worldview is being imposed upon me.”

By all accounts, the teacher tried to accommodate the trans student in many ways but does not believe his faith or personal code permits him to pretend that a girl is now a boy.

“I won’t use male pronouns with a female student that now identifies as a male though I did agree to use the new masculine name but avoid female pronouns,” Vlaming said, according to an online petition that circulated to protect his job. Over 2,500 people sided with him.

“Administration is requiring that I use masculine pronouns in any and every context at school. I was informed that any further instances of using female pronouns would be grounds for termination,” the teacher continued.

For their part, the school is claiming that it’s an issue of tolerance … yet they seem to be demonstrating intolerance themselves.

“We do not and cannot tolerate discrimination in any form, or actions that create a hostile environment for any member of our school family,” declared the school board.

It apparently didn’t dawn on them that firing a member of their “school family” for his personal views was fairly hostile.

“What could be worse for your family than being fired from your job for not lying and violating conscience?” wondered Robert A. J. Gagnon, a Harvard-educated theology expert who is following the controversy.

A large number of students and parents apparently agree. “The public hearing was held in the Chorus Room, only allowing 38 members of the public to sit in on the meeting,” explained The Family Foundation.

“There were well over a hundred people who tried to attend the meeting in the middle of a Thursday afternoon. Students and parents sat in the hallway watching a live-stream of the hearing when they learned they could not get into the room,” the pro-family group continued.

Here’s the bottom line: Schools are supposed to be places where facts, reality, and critical thinking are held up as high standards. Young and often rebellious students should have a voice, but they are not the ones who run our schools.

The female student can still be treated with respect, as this teacher reportedly tried to do. She can still choose for herself how she wants to live outside of the school and make choices for herself when she’s an adult graduate.

But the reality is that this student is biologically a female, try as she might to pretend otherwise. Forcing the rest of the school and society as a whole to bend to her whims is not only contradicting scientific facts, it imposes her views onto other people. In a word, it’s dishonest.

'It's Islam stupid!' signA pair of experts say the demands of Islam, particularly those in defiance of the laws and customs of the United States, do not have to be accommodated by the government or military.

In opposition to a 200-year tradition, Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar desires to wear her Islamic headscarf while serving as an incoming member of Congress. Likewise, the Air Force is appeasing Muslims by granting waivers for wearing beards.

In response to the latter example, Dr. Bill Warner, founder of the Center for the Study of Political Islam, tells OneNewsNow “there is a hadith [a tradition] that says Muslims should wear a beard without a moustache. This is a political demand to the Kafirs (non-Muslims). The out here is that if it were denied, then the sin is on the Kafir and the Muslim is released from the Sharia rule.”

Warner

Warner explains that two, often over-looked principles of Islamic law “give direction to Muslims who find themselves in situations where they cannot practice Islam in complete obedience to the totalitarian rules of Sharia – Islamic law.”

The principle of tayseer allows a Muslim to “lighten one’s burden,” according to Warner, which then “leads to the second principle of dararu.” Appointed times of prayer for the Muslim may become lenient, for example, when circumstances to fulfill this duty become difficult or impossible. Missed prayers would simply be accomplished at another time – without doing any harm to their religious beliefs.

Author of Lifting the Veil: The True Faces of Muhammad and Islam, I.Q. al-Rassooli, concurs. The Iraqi-born native Arabic-speaker, living in an undisclosed location in Europe says, “everything Dr. Warner shared is true and correct.”

Al-Rassooli suggests few people in the American government, military, or citizenry have either the knowledge or the backbone to say “although these Sharia-compliant Muslims were elected fairly or may be serving in the U.S. military, they cannot ever be loyal to the American Constitution because Sharia is the nemesis of all known human freedoms.”

al-Rassooli

He declares “the minute a woman insists she wears a hijab, that means she is Sharia-compliant. Since she is Sharia-compliant, she cannot be loyal among non-Muslims. It’s that simple. It’s not complicated.”

Likewise, al-Rassooli points out “if a Muslim is insisting he needs to have a beard, for so-called religious reasons – which, in fact, means he is Sharia-compliant – then automatically these same reasons would also mandate that he destroy the infidel [the non-Muslim].” He believes “such Muslims are nothing short of a waiting, and ticking, suicide bomber.”

Allowing Muslims to be Sharia-adherent in the U.S. military is “the worst mistake,” according to al-Rassooli. “I have absolutely no doubt that one day soon, such a Muslim will cause horrendous and catastrophic damage, either to planes or to an aircraft carrier.” “The sole purpose in the life of every [Sharia-compliant] Muslim anywhere on Earth is to subjugate all of humanity to Sharia,” al-Rassooli avows. “Therefore, their foremost method is to deceive hundreds of millions of Qur’an-ignorant and Sharia-ignorant people that they [Muslims] mean well.”

According to both Warner and al-Rassooli, Muslims can be released from the demands of Islam while living in America. Sharia offers some leniency, which dismisses any professed necessity for the United States to nix its Constitution to become Sharia-compliant.

Reported By Cillian Zeal | December 10, 2018 at 12:16pm

The one person who seemed to sum up the Democrats’ reaction to Michael Cohen’s guilty plea — and subsequent allegations against President Donald Trump — was Rep. Jerry Nadler. There’s long been speculation that the New York Democrat is considering impeachment hearings against Trump and anyone around him regardless of what the evidence might entail. A report from the day after the midterms had the powerful ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee ranting on a train about impeaching Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. He also talked about going “all in” on Russia.

Well, Russia might not work out, but how about Cohen? On TV this weekend, Nadler talked in grave terms about Cohen’s claim that Trump directed him to pay Stormy Daniels as part of a non-disclosure agreement and paid him back. This would, according to Nadler, be a sufficient reason to remove Trump from office.

“They would be impeachable offenses. Whether they’re important enough to justify an impeachment is a different question,” Nadler said in an appearance on CNN.

“Certainly, they’re impeachable offenses, because, even though they were committed before the president became president, they were committed in the service of fraudulently obtaining the office.”

This is hardly a surprise; from Day One, Nadler has called Trump “not legitimate” as a president. But the media is lapping it up. They seem to forget two things.

One, campaign finance issues — and it’s questionable as to whether this falls under the aegis of campaign finance — are generally settled without impeachment proceedings, mostly because they aren’t important enough to justify an impeachment.

The second is, well, how does Congress have any room to talk?

Yes, $17 million of taxpayer money has been spent on settling, among other things, sexual harassment claims in Congress, and we pretty much don’t know anything about the cases. As CNN noted, the names of those involved are withheld not only from the public but also from party leadership.

“A source in House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office told CNN that Ryan is not made aware of the details of harassment settlements. That source also said that the top Democrat and Republican on the House administration committee review proposed settlements and both must approve the payments,” the network  reported in November 2017.

“Similarly, a source in Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s office told CNN that Pelosi also is not made aware of those details, and that they are confined to the parties of the settlement and the leaders of the administration committee.”

This is essentially the cozy system that the establishment has set up so that it doesn’t have to face repercussions from sexual harassment lawsuits, discrimination suits and the like. There are also other rebarbative elements of how the system is set up, too long to detail here but enraging in their own right.

But this is perfectly legal.

Trump, meanwhile, paid a much smaller sum to women who allege he had consensual sex with him in order to obtain an NDA. Because of the methodology of obtaining it and the question of whether or not it should have been included in campaign finance reports, we’re now talking impeachment. Apparently, Nadler isn’t going all-in on Russia, he’s going all-in on Stormy. I guess it’s easier.

So, yes, Nadler can continue to claim that “the president was at the center of a massive fraud — several massive frauds against the American people.” That doesn’t actually mean anything. If we scrutinized the campaign ledgers of everyone in high office for any sort of problem, we’d probably have to extirpate at least half of them from their position.

Now, here’s the thing: I haven’t seen the Mueller report. Neither has Nadler. For all I know, Trump is implicated in a panoply of heinous crimes and his ties with Russia were way more extensive than we thought. Or it could be a very big nothingburger, albeit a nothingburger dressed up like a very appetizing somethingburger and advertised incessantly in the media like it was the Arch Deluxe circa 1992.

I still have my money on the latter, and I think Nadler does too. He heavily qualified whether the alleged campaign finance violations rose to the level of impeachability.

“You don’t necessarily launch an impeachment against the president because he committed an impeachable offense,” he said. “There are several things you have to look at.”

“One, were impeachable offenses committed, how many, et cetera. Secondly, how important were they? Do they rise to the gravity where you should undertake an impeachment? An impeachment is an attempt to effect or overturn the result of the last election and should do it only for very serious situations. That’s the question.”

My guess is that Nadler finds they were very important, committed with great frequency and rise to the gravity where one should undertake an impeachment — an impeachment which would overturn the result of the last election, which elected a president Nadler has already declared as “not legitimate.”

The rest of us might look at the report and realize this has nothing on what Congress has been doing for years. Whether that makes it right is an entirely different question, but the contrast will still make a huge difference in terms of how Americans view any attempts at impeachment.

After all, Trump used his own money to pay for an NDA through a liaison, which would generally garner a minor fine at most if you even concede it was a campaign-related expense. Congress used $17 million of your money to pay for its mistakes, some of which involved sexual harassment. They took every possible step to make sure you didn’t know about it. And they made it all perfectly legal.

I Vote Pro-Life (woman holding sign)Leaders of the Democratic Party keep talking down to Christian voters even while claiming they want to reach them and earn their vote.

At a gathering of far-left activists, DNC chairman Tom Perez complained that pastors’ conservative sermons are one reason Democrats’ message doesn’t resonate with churchgoers.

“Their principle sources of information are Fox News, their NRA newsletter, and the pulpit on Sunday,” Perez complained to the gathering of Demand Justice, which formed this year to fight for “progressive change” in the federal courts.

Are you surprised a Dem leader is blaming pastors for pushing a conservative message?
Yes, must not know many pastorsYes, maybe actually visit a churchYes, somebody was thinking out loud again, huh?No, conservatives get blamed for everythingNo, the Church is the far left’s newest enemyNo, but it’s good to be reminded of their beliefs

“And it should come as a surprise to no one,” he added, “that our message doesn’t penetrate.”

Perez’s rant singled out the abortion issue, when he complained that the churchgoers are told to focus on Roe v Wade but ignore other issues. Kristin Day of Democrats for Life tells OneNewsNow there is not a single leading Democrat who understands the pro-life right.

“With the Democratic candidates for president who have been named,” she says, “I don’t see one that can really bring the party together so far: Cory Booker, Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren.”

It’s not new to hear Democratic leaders suggest conservative voters are brainless, hateful and racist, but many of those voters have good memories, too.

“So it’s not surprising then,” Barack Obama told a San Francisco fund-raiser in 2008, “that they get bitter, and they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy towards people who aren’t like them.”

Then-Democratic primary opponent Hillary Clinton said at the time she was “taken aback by the demeaning remarks,” but it wasn’t too long until the presidential nominee was describing a “basket of deplorables” to a similar audience.

“The racists, sexists, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic,” Clinton said. “You name it.”

Day says Democrats would be wise to get over the “fear” of pro-life people, suggesting that the far-left party would be wise to embrace a pro-life politician such as Louisiana’s governor, John Bel Edwards. But the far-left Democratic Party doesn’t seem to be listening to that suggestion.

Associated Press

WASHINGTON (December 10, 2018) — The Supreme Court on Monday avoided a high-profile case by rejecting appeals from Kansas and Louisiana in their effort to strip Medicaid money from Planned Parenthood, over the dissenting votes of three justices. The court’s order reflected a split among its conservative justices and an accusation from Justice Clarence Thomas that his colleagues seemed to be ducking the case for political reasons. New Justice Brett Kavanaugh was among the justices who opted not to hear the case.

The two states were appealing lower court rulings that had blocked them from withholding money that is used for health services for low-income women. The money is not used for abortions. Abortion opponents have said Planned Parenthood should not receive any government money because of heavily edited videos that showed the nation’s largest abortion provider profiting from sales of fetal tissue for medical research.

Investigations sparked by the videos in several states didn’t result in criminal charges.

The dispute at the high court has nothing to do with abortion, as Thomas pointed out in a dissent that was joined by Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch. Kavanaugh’s decision not to join the three justices was his first discernible vote on the court. Had he or Chief Justice John Roberts voted to hear the case, there would have been the four votes necessary to set the case for arguments.

The issue is who has the right to challenge a state’s Medicaid funding decisions, private individuals or only the federal government. The states say that the Medicaid program, a joint venture of federal and state governments to provide health care to poorer Americans, makes clear that only the Secretary of Health and Human Services can intervene, by withholding money from a state.

Most lower federal courts have found that private parties can challenge Medicaid funding decisions in court, although the federal appeals court in St. Louis rejected a similar court challenge and allowed Arkansas to end its contract with Planned Parenthood. A split among federal appeals courts is often a reason for the Supreme Court to step in.

“So what explains the court’s refusal to do its job here? I suspect it has something to do with the fact that some respondents in these cases are named ‘Planned Parenthood.’ That makes the Court’s decision particularly troubling, as the question presented has nothing to do with abortion,” Thomas wrote.

The dispute over funding for Planned Parenthood stemmed from the July 2015 release by the pro-life group Center for Medical Progress of a series of edited videos purportedly depicting Planned Parenthood of America executives talking about the sale of fetal tissue. Planned Parenthood has said it did not seek any payments beyond legally permitted reimbursement of costs.

Catherine Glenn Foster, president and CEO of the pro-life Americans United for Life, said the court should have heard the case. “But the good news is that there are other similar cases pending in lower courts, which may give the Supreme Court another opportunity to decide this important issue. In the meantime, AUL will continue to fight to protect states from being forced to use their limited public funds to subsidize abortion businesses,” Foster said.

There is a very real irrational hatred of all things traditional and Christian. Here’s yet another of a long list of examples. For most groups, observant Jews, Buddhists, and Hindus for example, there’s no particular ax to grind with the fact that ‘someone out there’ disagrees with you. It’s enough to have your own opinion, traditions or set of values. You might disagree with other people, or even get in an impassioned debate if the topic comes up. But you don’t lose any sleep over it, right?

That’s not true of everyone. Even the knowing about the existence of traditional Evangelical Christian belief (or even orthodox Christian belief more generally) offends some so deeply that they feel a need to single it out and rail against it.

The very existence of someone disagreeing with them offends them. What does that look like? Here’s an example:

Oh no! There’s a group of devout young women who decided they don’t care for the idea of transactional sex? They think they could be better off waiting for some guy who values them enough to marry her first?

How DARE they!

Of course every OTHER choice regarding sex is culturally valid. Just not the monogomous kind.

So a ‘Feminist Pastor’ has decided her own values are more valid than the personal convictions of strangers she’ll never meet. How ‘tolerant’ of her. She’s deliberately seeking to attack the Purity Ring tradition.

What’s a purity ring? It’s just a ring that a young lady wears as a reminder to herself that even when passions rise in the heat of the moment, to remember the ‘bigger picture’. Said succinctly in one of their slogans, “True Love Waits”Whether you think that strategy is able to accomplish its objective or not is certainly something that could be debated. But the reaction by this ‘Feminist Pastor’ seems a little extreme:

She’s called to have them mailed in and melted down into a sculpture… of a vagina.

As Paul Bois noted, it has curious echoes of the Golden Calf scene in the Book of Exodus (Think Charlton Heston’s ‘The Ten Commandments’).

What do they get for sending their ring to be melted down? A ‘certificate of impurity’. No really, this isn’t The Onion. Here’s a picture:

More about the statue in a moment. They don’t JUST get the certificate.

They get a replacement ring, too. One that looks like a vagina. It’s called the ‘Impurity Ring’. Get it? They hate the abstinence movement so much that they had to make a copycat movement. Probably because they have no real ideas of their own.

Why the hell would anyone ‘pastor’ bother doing this? It’s performance art, railing against the sacred. She’s a Liberal Lutheran pastor with a not-so-subtle agenda:

…Bolz-Weber, founding pastor of Denver’s House for All Sinners and Saints, issued a call for people to send her those rings “for a massive art project.”

“Beginning November 12th, until December 17th, you’ll have the opportunity to send in your purity rings to be melted down and recast into a golden vagina,” she explained on her website. “This sculpture will be unveiled at the 2019 Makers Conference.”

The website states that those who send in their rings will then receive a “certificate of Impurity as well as a SHAMELESS, impurity ring.”

“This thing about women that the church has tried to hide and control and that is a canvas on which other people can write their own righteousness ― it’s actually ours,” Bolz-Weber told HuffPost. “This part of me is mine and I get to determine what is good for it and if it’s beautiful and how I use it in the world.”

…Earlier, she sparked controversy after she said there should be no shame in consuming pornography, especially if it is “ethically sourced.
Source: Christian Post

Clearly, she’s not given much thought to what Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount. That ‘already holy’ line in the certificate was a dead giveaway. Real Christianity is expected to change culture not conform to it. But of course, a call to repentance and the Holiness of Christ doesn’t sell books, does it?

Her stance on porn is badly out of step with people who’ve lived that life and come back from it (for example, the former Jenna Presley) to the traditional Christianity Bolz-Weber is so hellbent on overthrowing. Pamela Anderson — herself no religious traditionalist — has denounced the social impact of Porn. As for her ‘ethically sourced’ porn? If you believe it exists, you probably believe in Unicorns, too. Think that’s an overstatement? Then read this, if you dare: Think Pornography Is ‘Harmless’? Maybe you don’t find those arguments compelling? Ok then, how about some science? LIMP NOODLE: Porn Equals Less Sex, Less Testosterone and Impotency

Bolz-Weber is just one more in a long line of people who want the form of religion, but want to gut it of all meaning. Just like Liberalism has done to every other traditional institution it sinks its hooks into. It is, at root, parasitic. That explains her focused hatred for traditional Christianity and it’s values. They are a mirror reminding her she’s an imposter playing at being the real deal.

Bush's Finest 30 Seconds: The Willie Horton Ad
The press in America is even worse than we imagine. We sense that they’re biased and stunningly incompetent. They are those things, but so much more. Our media’s version of the news is mathematically and precisely the opposite of the truth.
The death and burial of George H.W. Bush is only the latest example.

In the puffery and revisionism that accompany funerals, the man who gave us David Souter, an unnecessary war, tax hikes he promised not to impose and the Americans With Disabilities Act (aka The Destruction of Small Libraries Throughout New England Act) has been elevated to saint like status.

But the one incident the media decided to excoriate Bush for was, in fact, his finest moment: the Willie Horton ad.

If we let the media get away with this, they will have once again redefined what constitutes acceptable discourse in America and cemented the notion that our political process should never be soiled by such a campaign ad — the one thing Bush got right in his entire public career.

Far from representing the “low road,” the Willie Horton ad was the greatest campaign commercial in political history. The ad was the reason we have political campaigns: It clearly and forcefully highlighted the two presidential candidates’ diametrically opposed views on an issue of vital national importance.

Bush’s opponent, Gov. Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts, had championed a self-evidently insane criminal justice program that provided prison furloughs to first-degree murderers.

One of the murderers let out under Dukakis’ program was a career violent criminal, Willie Horton. In 1974, Horton sliced up a 17-year-old convenience store clerk, Joey Fournier, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, after Fournier had already handed over all the money. He then stuffed the boy’s corpse in a garbage can. That wasn’t Horton’s first offense: Years earlier, he’d been convicted of attempted murder for stabbing a man in South Carolina. No sane person would have allowed Horton to take a breath of free air again.

Horton was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, which was the maximum possible penalty, inasmuch as Gov. Dukakis had vetoed the death penalty. The whole idea of sentencing first-degree murderers to life without parole is that they are never supposed to be let out of prison. But under the weekend furlough program lustily promoted by Dukakis, Horton was released.

On April 3, 1987, months after running away from his most recent furlough, Horton broke into the Maryland home of Cliff Barnes and his fiancée, Angela Miller, and waited for them to return. When Barnes got home, Horton lunged at him, dragged him to the basement, tied him up, and spent hours torturing him, slashing him and jamming a pistol butt in his mouth and eyes. He told Barnes he planned to hang him and watch him die. Five hours later, Barnes’ fiancée came home. Horton left Barnes bound and gagged in the basement, went upstairs and repeatedly raped and beat Miller, as Barnes listened helplessly from the basement.

Twelve hours after he had first encountered Horton, Barnes managed to escape. When Horton realized Barnes was gone, he stole the couple’s car and led police on a high-speed chase before finally being captured — again.

The Maryland judge who sentenced Horton refused to send him back to Massachusetts, saying: “I’m not prepared to take the chance that Mr. Horton might again be furloughed or otherwise released.” The following year, Michael Dukakis offered himself up to be president of the United States.

Dukakis was directly responsible for Horton’s release — as well as the release of hundreds of other murderers, many of whom went on to commit similarly heinous crimes. Even Dukakis’ own Democratic legislature in liberal Massachusetts had tried to reverse a state Supreme Court decision granting furloughs to first-degree murderers. But the Greek homunculus vetoed the bill.

When Horton’s survivors Barnes and Miller tried to meet with Dukakis after their ordeal to ask him to rescind the furlough policy, he refused to see them, arrogantly announcing, “I don’t see any particular value in meeting with people.” This marked the first time the media supported a politician’s refusal to meet with victims of one of his policies.

What could be more central to a presidential campaign than an ad highlighting how Bush would handle criminal justice issues versus how the elected governor of Massachusetts was at that moment handling them? Liberals’ response was to accuse Republicans of racism because Horton was black, knowing full well that the GOP would have given everything it owned for him to have been white. But it was too important an issue to ignore just because the poster-boy for Dukakis’ insane crime policies happened to be black.

Bush’s ad was so “racist” it never even showed Horton’s picture. Instead, white male actors were shown passing through the “revolving door” of criminal justice.

(An independent group unconnected to the Bush campaign produced an ad seen by 16 people showing Horton — appalling the press by using his mug shot, rather than his First Communion photo as prescribed by The New York Times’ standards and ethics policy for black criminals.)

Liberals smugly cite Bush campaign manager Lee Atwater’s deathbed apology for the Horton ad. Yes, he hoped for a nice obituary and didn’t want his kids teased at school, so he said whatever his captors wanted him to say. (By the way, it didn’t work.)

Just like Atwater, the reporter who won a Pulitzer Prize for her articles on Horton disavowed her own reporting, after going through the media’s re-education camp. You don’t have the right to “apologize” for something you did that’s not factually incorrect.

The Horton ad was the highest, best form of political campaigning, serving to illustrate stark differences between the candidates on an important policy issue. People should have won awards for that ad. Instead, it became one of the stops on the left’s Via Dolorosa of Racism. Idiot Republicans are ashamed of it, thinking the best response is to say: Al Gore brought up Horton first!
Yammering morons don’t have any argument against the ad, other than feigned outrage. You’re seriously defending the Willie Horton ad?! Yes I am! It demonstrated that Michael Dukakis should have never been anywhere near a position of power, least of all, the presidency. What’s your argument against it?

The decision by President Donald Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen to plead guilty to making false statements to the Senate Intelligence Committee has been described as nothing short of a “bombshell” capable of taking down the Trump administration. This impression has only been bolstered by Trump tweeting about it, essentially calling Cohen a Judas and saying he “lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence.”

The political discernment behind those tweets will be debated for some time to come, or at least until the next news cycle starts in about three hours. Regardless, they did make the president sound like a man who had something to be afraid of. And therein lies the great problem with the tweets: At least from what we know so far from court documents, fear is probably not the correct reaction.

Author and commentator Paul Sperry, best known of late for his work with the New York Post, analyzed what we know so far about the indictments in an article published Monday by RealClearInvestigations.

Contrary to the en vogue media theory that Cohen’s guilty plea is — at long last — the falling domino that will topple the entire Trump administration, Sperry wrote that what we know thus far from the Cohen filings is actually exculpatory for the president even as Cohen is admitting he lied about how long he was involved in proposed Trump real estate project in Moscow.

“The nine-page charging document filed with the plea deal suggests that the special counsel is using the Moscow tower talks to connect Trump to Russia,” Sperry wrote.

“But congressional investigators with House and Senate committees leading inquiries on the Russia question told RealClearInvestigations that it looks like Mueller withheld from the court details that would exonerate the president. They made this assessment in light of the charging document, known as a statement of ‘criminal information’ (filed in lieu of an indictment when a defendant agrees to plead guilty); a fuller accounting of Cohen’s emails and text messages that Capitol Hill sources have seen; and the still-secret transcripts of closed-door testimony provided by a business associate of Cohen.”

And this includes the putative link to Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the indictment everyone seemed to be mesmerized over.

“On page 7 of the statement of criminal information filed against Cohen, which is separate from but related to the plea agreement, Mueller mentions that Cohen tried to email Russian President Vladimir Putin’s office on Jan. 14, 2016, and again on Jan. 16, 2016,” Sperry wrote.

But Mueller, who personally signed the document, omitted the fact that Cohen did not have any direct points of contact at the Kremlin, and had resorted to sending the emails to a general press mailbox. Sources who have seen these additional emails point out that this omitted information undercuts the idea of a ‘back channel’ and thus the special counsel’s collusion case.”

“Page 2 of the same criminal information document holds additional exculpatory evidence for Trump, sources say. It quotes an August 2017 letter from Cohen to the Senate intelligence committee in which he states that Trump ‘was never in contact with anyone about this (Moscow Project) proposal other than me,’” he continues.

“This section of Cohen’s written testimony, unlike other parts, is not disputed as false by Mueller, which sources say means prosecutors have tested its veracity through corroborating sources and found it to be accurate.”

Mueller also doesn’t take issue with Cohen’s statement that he “ultimately determined that the proposal was not feasible and never agreed to make a trip to Russia.” Other sources seemed to indicate that there was less than there might appear in the Cohen plea.

“Though Cohen may have lied to Congress about the dates,” a Capitol Hill investigator told Sperry, “it’s clear from personal messages he sent in 2015 and 2016 that the Trump Organization did not have formal lines of communication set up with Putin’s office or the Kremlin during the campaign. There was no secret ‘back channel.’

“So as far as collusion goes,” he continued, “the project is actually more exculpatory than incriminating for Trump and his campaign.”

Whether or not that’s true remains to be seen. The Mueller investigation can be a very tight ship when it wants to be and we don’t know everything the special counsel has. We likely won’t know everything until we see Mueller’s final report. However, what Sperry seems to have collected is a whole lot of evidence that, to quote the inimitable Peter Strzok, there is no big there there.”

While Cohen was involved with a go-between named Felix Sater who claimed he had some connections with the Russian leader, “the project never went anywhere because Sater didn’t have the pull with Putin he claimed to have. Emails and texts indicate that Sater could only offer Cohen access to one of his acquaintances, who was an acquaintance of someone else who was partners in a real estate development with a friend of Putin’s.”

The Kremlin was never involved with the project in any manner, according to Sperry’s sources, and no one traveled to Russia to try and make the deal happen. In other words, Sater was less connected than that dodgy lawyer who took part in the infamous Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump Jr. Both seem to have gone nowhere.

But tell that to the media.

“The actual texts of the plea deal and related materials filed last week in federal court do not jibe with reports and commentary given on several cable news outlets and comments of Democrat leaders,” Sperry wrote.

“CNN said the charging documents, which reference the president as ‘Individual 1,’ suggest Trump had a working relationship with Russia’s president and that ‘Putin had leverage over Trump’ because of the project.

“’Well into the 2016 campaign, one of the president’s closest associates was in touch with the Kremlin on this project, as we now know, and Michael Cohen says he was lying about it to protect the president,’ said CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer.

“’Cohen was communicating directly with the Kremlin,’ Blitzer added.”

Really, now.

You’re only as old as you feel, right? Nope. The judge didn’t see it that way. Lots of people lie about their age. The joke about a woman celebrating her 29th birthday for the 25th time is as old as the hills. Growing old is a tough thing for a lot of people to grapple with, and there are plenty of ways to feel young at heart.

But Emile Ratelband was pushing it a little too far.

Stealing the script from people who were identifying as men, women, or even female dragons, one man decided to petition the courts to allow him to ‘identify’ as a much younger man. He is 69, but he wanted the courts to rule that he is, in fact, 45.

His elevator may not, in fact, go to the top floor. Then again, he’s applying exactly the same logic as every other person that ‘announces’ a change in their defining characteristics, whether name, gender, ethnicity or sometimes even species. So is he any more crazy that the things our society has already called normal?

And don’t forget about ‘Stephoknee’ — the old dude with kids who was living with some family as a “six-year-old girl”. Maybe he figures if the court rules that he IS forty-five, it will veto reality.

He can get a mortgage again. He can paint his house again. He can have a baby again. He doesn’t want to PRETEND he’s 45, he wants to reset the clock so that he IS 45 again. And he figures a judge can do that, somehow.

Emile Ratelband says he does not ‘feel’ like a pensioner, and that reducing his age to 49 would mean getting work and attracting more women on dating websites and apps such as Tinder.

Last month, the self-styled ‘positivity guru’ asked the court in Arnhem to formally change his date of birth from March 11, 1949, to March 11, 1969.

He argued his request was consistent with other forms of personal transformation, such as the ability to change one’s name or gender.

But in a written ruling Monday, the court said Dutch law assigns rights and obligations based on age ‘such as the right to vote and the duty to attend school.
Source: DailyMail

Did we mention that he didn’t want the 68-year-old women on the hook-up/dating site ‘Tinder’? He wants to land much younger women on Tinder. Not by lying, no. He wants to ‘be himself’ and have the courts rule he is 45.

News flash, bub. Having the courts do your lying for you is the same thing as lying yourself.

Hey ladies: if this guy told you he was only 45, would you believe him?

Over a month ago, a Christian woman in Pakistan named Asia Bibi was acquitted on appeal to the Supreme Court of Pakistan on the charge of blasphemy, of which a lower court had sentenced her to death in 2010. Such charges were the result of an argument that Bibi had with some farmhands back in 2009. It started when she went to fetch some water for the other farmhands (who were Muslim) from a well, but before doing so, stopped to take a drink by using a metal cup near the well. Her actions were noticed by the Muslim farmhands, who angrily informed her that it was forbidden for Christians to drink from the same cup as Muslims, since Muslims in Pakistan consider Christians to be unclean. They then demanded that Bibi convert to Islam. But Bibi refused, even asking why it should be her and not them who should be converting to another religion.

This remark led to a heated discussion, of which Bibi was accused of blasphemy by making derogatory comments about Mohammed. Such accusations are most likely trumped-up charges, a common occurrence in Pakistan when Muslims have disputes with non-Muslims. Bibi was later attacked by a mob and later arrested and charged with blasphemy.

A year later, she was sentenced to death by hanging- in a trial that lasted only thirty minutes and with no cross-examination of any witnesses. The sentence resulted in celebration among the attendees.

In 2014, the Lahore High Court upheld the lower court’s decision. But the Supreme Court acquitted Bibi of the charges due to discrepancies among the witnesses for the prosecution.

Bibi’s acquittal resulted in rioting throughout Pakistan. Muslims have called for her death, and are conducting searches of various homes in an attempt to find her. So far she has managed to stay ahead of them by moving from safe house to safe house.

Despite the acquittal, Bibi is unable to leave Pakistan due to the prosecution filing a petition against the Supreme Court’s decision, claiming that the ruling was “erroneous” and should be reversed.

Needless to say, Asia Bibi (and her family for that matter) are in grave danger as long as they as they remain in Pakistan. They could go to Britain, but British authorities rejected that idea for fear that Muslims might riot in Britain (note: they are already causing havoc there anyway, e.g. terrorist attacks, rapes), and possibly put its embassy and consulates in danger (hence a repeat of the American Embassy in Iran being stormed by Islamists in 1979).

Other countries (e.g. Australia, Italy) have apparently offered Bibi asylum. But as Hugh Fitzgerald of Frontpage Magazine pointed out, it would be best if she was offered asylum in America or the Vatican.

Whether or not Asia Bibi is given asylum and makes it out of Pakistan alive is yet to be seen.

So in the meantime, she will be living in fear for her life.

That’s a direct quote from the Drag Queen, too. He said it on purpose, knowing what he was saying. We have raised the issue of Drag Queens offering story time in libraries before. If you’re interested in the background of the story, and some sense of just how much it has proliferated, you can get up to speed with any of these three related stories:
Major Texas Library Debuts ‘Drag Queen Storytime’ For The Kiddos
Dear Parents: Would You Allow Drag Queens To Read To Your Kiddies About Drag Queens?
Drag Queens: Feminine Appreciation Or Female ‘Minstrel Shows’?

Now that we’re all up to speed, here’s the problem. This guy (Dylan Pontiff) raised the notion of ‘grooming’ as a good thing. For most of us, grooming, in the context of children, is an outrageous concept. We’re not talking about personal hygiene. If you’re wondering why he complained that the room “reacted” to the words he used, there’s a very specific reason.

In the context of a public meeting where parents and other responsible adults were expressing their concerns that having men dressed as women visiting young children for Storytime to read to them, where the innocence of childhood was being challenged by having confusing and unnecessarily complex sexual concepts introduced at a very young and impressionable age, the speaker (who is also the cross-dresser who would be ‘performing’ at this story time) introduced the term ‘grooming’ quite willingly, and said it was something he was actively doing.

Why did people object?

Grooming is a term typically used in describing the efforts of an adult to prepare a vulnerable youth to be receptive to future sexual advances. It involves as the reducing of inhibitions, desensitizing the child to awkward and uncomfortable (sexualized) situations and normalizing abnormal sexual behavior so that it seems ok and safe. See the problem?

Now cue up to what he says from about the 2:20 mark and forward.

Besides citing the inappropriateness of introducing children to adult entertainers, some parents have voiced concerns about the pro-gay and transgender ideology behind the story times.

Pontiff then said that the event will be “the grooming of the next generation.”

“I’m here to let you know that this event is something that’s going to be very beautiful and for the children and the people that support it are going to realize that this is going to be the grooming of the next generation. We are trying to groom the next generation,” Pontiff said.
Source: WesternJournal

Remember, first he’s arguing that he isn’t doing some kind of ‘indoctrination’.

Then he turns around and says he was intentionally grooming young people. Intentionally trying to shape and change their views of men dressing up as women (Which, if you follow the logic of the ‘Minstrel Show’ article, cited above, is arguably derogatory and insulting to genuine women.)

And after that, he points his skinny finger at the ’50 or so’ people who gasped at the concept of their children being ‘groomed’, and proceeded to paint THEM as evil intolerant whackos.

Conservative author Jerome Corsi filed a “criminal and ethics” complaint against special counsel Robert Mueller on Monday, alleging his team threatened prosecution if Corsi refused to provide false testimony against Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Fox News reported the 78-page complaint, filed with the Department of Justice and the DOJ’s inspector general, stated “Dr. Corsi has been criminally threatened and coerced to tell a lie and call it the truth.”

The filing also calls for the removal of Mueller and his prosecutors for their misconduct.

“Special Counsel Mueller and his prosecutorial staff should respectfully be removed from his office and their practice of the law and a new Special Counsel appointed who respects and will obey common and accepted norms of professional ethics and the law and who will promptly conclude the so-called Russian collusion investigation which had been illegally and criminally spinning out of control,” the document reads.

According to his complaint, Mueller’s team wanted Corsi to testify to acting as a liaison between Trump campaign associate Roger Stone and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange regarding the release of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee. The filing reads that Mueller’s office “knowingly and deceitfully threatening to charge Dr. Corsi with an alleged false statement,” unless he gives them “false testimony” against Trump and others.

Corsi announced last week on multiple media outlets that he would not sign Mueller’s agreement calling for him to plead guilty to one count of perjury.

“They can put me in prison the rest of my life. I am not going to sign a lie,” the 72-year-old told CNN.

According to a court filing by Mueller’s team, Corsi wrote in a short email to Stone in July 2016, “Word is friend in embassy plans 2 more dumps. One shortly after I’m back. 2nd in Oct. Impact planned to be very damaging.”

“Time to let more than (Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta) to be exposed as in bed w enemy if they are not ready to drop HRC (Hillary Rodham Clinton),” “The Obama Nation” author added. “That appears to be the game hackers are now about.”

Corsi explained to Fox News host Tucker Carlson last week that he had fully cooperated with Mueller’s investigators, turning over his computer and cellphone, but he initially forgot about the email, until it was brought to his attention. He amended his statement to Mueller’s team in September, which they accepted without complaint, but prosecutors changed their tune after they determined, he “could not give them what they wanted,” according to Corsi.

“They do this what I call a perjury trap,” Corsi told Carlson. “They ask you a question. They have material they won’t show you. You’ve forgotten about. They say, ‘You’ve just lied,’ because this email you’ve forgotten about 2016 proves your current memory is wrong. It’s a memory test.”

In a statement on Monday, his attorney Larry Klayman charged Mueller with “effectively seeking to overthrow a duly elected president” through coercing false testimony.

“This rogue government tyranny perpetrated by a Special Counsel and his prosecutorial staff, which is designed to effectively overthrow a duly elected president by coercing and extorting false testimony from Dr. Corsi and others, cannot be permitted in a civilized society,” he said.

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz argued last week that Mueller’s probe is creating crimes rather than uncovering past ones, and that the “devastating” report against Trump he will write will be based on people “who have lied.”

“Virtually all of his indictments and pleas come from people who he got to lie in front of investigators by setting perjury traps for them,” Dershowitz told Fox News host Sean Hannity. He added, “(A)nd the other ones have to do with financial dealings unrelated to the president. Where’s the beef? Where’s the crime?”

An abortion business is using a popular media resource to promote parental acceptance of transgender children. The Planned Parenthood video, designed for parents, suggests there is nothing they can do to change their child’s gender identity — that a boy who wants to be a girl should be left to his view of the subject.

Jim Sedlak of the American Life League (ALL) says it is just a business move to generate more revenue for the organization, as Planned Parenthood provides drugs to children in order to prevent puberty.

“Planned Parenthood in a number of places is selling what they call puberty blockers, which are products that block the production of testosterone in boys and estrogen in girls until the kids can pick out what gender they want to be,” Sedlak explains.

Sedlak, Jim (American Life League)But in many states, parents must consent to the puberty blockers, so the video is really propaganda to convince them to sign on the dotted line for the sake of their child’s mental health, which the ALL president says is a false statement.

“So Planned Parenthood in our estimation has started this widespread campaign to get parents to get comfortable with letting children choose their identity so that the parents will sign off and Planned Parenthood will be allowed to deliver these puberty blockers to their children,” Sedlak continues.

The truth, however, is children usually outgrow the gender dysphoria by their teenage years, or the psychological problem can be addressed through mental health counseling.

Hillary worried bust pointingThe Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided a whistleblower’s home after he obtained documents exposing questionable practices by the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One.

Michael Socarras – the attorney of the whistleblower, Dennis Nathan Cain – announced last week that the FBI rummaged through his client’s home for six hours after the homeowner turned the documents over federal officials.

Not a good start for a 2020 presidential run

With indications that former first lady Hillary Clinton will run once again for the presidency in 2020, the recognized Department of Justice (DOJ) whistleblower is the latest target of an FBI probe that is looking into information obtained by the man who privately delivered documents to a government watchdog concerning the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One.

“The Justice Department’s inspector general was informed that the documents show that federal officials failed to investigate potential criminal activity regarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation and Rosatom – the Russian company that purchased Uranium One – a document reviewed by The Daily Caller News Foundation [DCNF] alleges,” The Daily Caller announced. “The delivered documents also show that then-FBI Director Robert Mueller failed to investigate allegations of criminal misconduct pertaining to Rosatom and to other Russian government entities attached to Uranium One, the document reviewed by TheDCNF alleges. Mueller is now the special counsel investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.”

Socarras insisted that Cain’s handling of the information was within the bounds of the law and called the raid of his home in Union Bridge, Maryland, by 16 agents on November 19 an “outrageous disregard” of the former FBI contractor’s protections.

“The bureau raided my client to seize what he legally gave Congress about the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One,” Socarras told The Daily Caller (DCNF).

Federal magistrate Stephanie A. Gallagher of the U.S. District Court for Baltimore, Maryland, issued and signed a court order on Nov. 15 permitting the raid. Government agents contend that the confiscation of the former FBI agent’s property was legitimate because he allegedly broke the law by taking possession of federal property.

“A special agent from the FBI’s Baltimore division – who led the raid – charged that Cain possessed stolen federal property and demanded entry to his private residence, Socarras told TheDCNF,” TheDCNF’s Richard Pollock reported.

FBI Spokesman David Fitz announced that the raid of Cain’s home had taken place.

“On Nov. 19, the FBI conducted court authorized law enforcement activity in the Union Bridge, Maryland, area,” Fitz told TheDCNF. “At this time, we have no further comment.”

According to Socarras, the raid took place despite Cain’s contention that he legally possessed the documents under question.

“Cain informed the agent while he was still at the door that he was a recognized protected whistleblower under the Intelligence Community Whistleblower Protection Act and that U.S. Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz recognized his whistleblower status,” Pollock noted. “Cain further told the FBI agent the potentially damaging classified information had been properly transmitted to the Senate and House Intelligence committees as permitted under the act, Socarras said. The agent immediately directed his agents to begin a sweep of the suburban home, anyway.”

Socarras pointed out that Cain quickly turned over the documents to the FBI out of fear and intimidation, noting that agents still rummaged through his home for six hours.

“After asking and getting my approval to do so, DOJ IG Michael Horowitz had a member of his staff physically take Mr. Cain’s classified document disclosure to the House and Senate Intelligence committees,” the whistleblower’s lawyer told TheDCNF. “For the bureau to show up at Mr. Cain’s home suggesting that those same documents are stolen federal property – and then proceed to seize copies of the same documents after being told at the house door that he is a legally protected whistleblower who gave them to Congress – is an outrageous disregard of the law.”

Even though Cain should have been protected from the a search and seizure, the FBI went ahead and treated him as if the documents exposing Clinton were illegally obtained.

“The law protects whistleblowers who are government contractors and requires the IG to share such potentially damaging information with the attorney general – who at the time was Jeff Sessions,” Pollock continued. “The two law enforcement officials directed the documents be sent to the Senate and House Intelligence committees for their examination – according to Socarras – who said that a high-level IG official hand-delivered the documents to the two intelligence committees.”

Soccoras was amazed at the FBI’s aggressive behavior.

“I cannot believe the Bureau informed the federal magistrate who approved the search warrant that they wanted to search the home of an FBI whistleblower to seize the information that he confidentially disclosed to the IG and Congress,” Socarras expressed to DCNF.

The FBI and other whistleblowers within the intelligence community are protected by the whistleblower act, according to 2016 intelligence community directive.

“The [intelligence community] is committed to providing its personnel the means to report violations of law,” the directive reads.

Socarras – whom the FBI has still not spoken with since the raid – stressed how his client should have been protected by the government directive.

“The [whistleblower act] authorizes employees of contractors to take government property and give it to the two intelligence committees confidentially,” Socarras added. “After the raid – and having received my name and phone number from Mr. Cain as his lawyer – an FBI agent actually called my client directly to discuss his seized electronics. Knowingly bypassing the lawyer of a represented client is serious misconduct.”

The documentation Cain received while working for the FBI as a contractor was obtained through a number of stages.

“Cain met with a senior member of Horowitz’s office at a church close to the White House to deliver the documents to the IG, according to Socarras,” Townhall reported. “Cain sat in a pew with a hoodie and sun glasses, Socarras said.”

The information was then quickly taken.

“Cain held a double-sealed envelope containing a flash drive with the documents,” Townhall’s Beth Baumann recounted. “The IG official met him and – without saying a word – took the pouch over Cain’s shoulder and left.

Conspiracy against the Dems?

As FBI Director from 2001–2013, Mueller was negligent to investigate criminal misconduct allegations in the Uranium One case, which reveals Clinton’s underhanded dealings with Russia in the transaction of American uranium.

“The Canadian-based mining company controls over 20 percent of the U.S. uranium supply and was sold to the Russian conglomerate Rosatom in 2010,” RT.com informed. “The sale needed to be approved by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CIFUS), which was chaired by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.”

Clinton’s covert and shady operations have been under the radar for nearly a decade now.

“Since [2010], multiple whistleblowers have revealed claims of misconduct, bribery and fraud on part of the people involved in the sale, even suggesting a ‘pay for play’ scheme in which the Clinton Foundation received millions of dollars in donations in exchange for greenlighting the deal,” RT.com added. “Republicans have also pointed to Bill Clinton’s $500,000 fee for a speech in Moscow in 2010 as evidence the Clintons were peddling influence for Russian money.”

However, Clinton’s party insists that Republicans have used her questionable dealings to their political advantage.

“Democrats have dismissed the apparent scandal as a right-wing conspiracy theory, and Clinton herself called the accusations of wrongdoing ‘baloney,’” RT.com pointed out.

Since this spring, the uranium scandal has been beating on Clinton’s door – posing more problems for her possible 2020 White House run.

“In April this year, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions asked the Utah-based U.S. Attorney John Humber to investigate both the Uranium One probe and the FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server,” RT.com recalled. “That second probe was the subject of a scathing report in June by the DOJ IG Michael Horowitz – the same official to whom Cain gave the documents as a whistleblower. The status of that investigation is currently unknown.”
