The spiritual and moral bankruptcy of ‘progressive’ Christianity

Reported by Dr. Michael L. Brown – Guest Columnist | Tuesday, December 18, 2018 | http://www.askdrbrown.org/

Michael BrownI pray that someday they see the light, but zealous supporters of “gay Christianity” can have their “progressive” religion. I’ll stick with the Jesus of the Bible – the Jesus who liberates and transforms, the Jesus who doesn’t affirm us in our sin but delivers us out of it.

So-called “progressive” Christians love to bash conservative Christians. They call us dinosaurs. They mock us as outdated fundamentalists. They taunt us as “Bible bashers.” They claim to be the enlightened ones, and they celebrate their departure from the “traditional church.” But the reality is that they are simply following the spirit of the age, swimming with the current cultural tide rather than against it. In the name of conformity to Jesus, they are being conformed to the world. How ironic.

On Saturday night, while working on a major book project at my computer, I noticed a tweet from a “progressive” pastor. I had reached out him to several times before, but always without response. He wrote, quite out of the blue:

“When hopelessly phobic people of faith like @DrMichaelLBrown claim that God is against ‘homosexual practice.’ #ThatsNotAThing”

As soon as I spotted the tweet, I replied:

“Hey John, I’ve reached out to you on several occasions, always without response. Rather than engage in baseless (and silly) name-calling, let’s a have a mature, scripture-based, minister-to-minister dialog. You’re welcome on my show any time. Why not?”

For the record, he still has not replied to my invitations – not once, ever – and I continue to reach out to him. But despite his lack of response, I decided to engage some of his followers. Talk about enlightening!

The first thing that became immediately evident was this. There was virtually no substantive interaction. Instead, there was mockery and insult and misrepresentation, making me wonder out loud, “What’s so scary about the truth?”

It started out of the gate with this pastor maligning me as “hopelessly phobic” (for reaching out to the LGBT community with the truth of the gospel while opposing radical LGBT activism). And, remarkably, while the Bible consistently and categorically opposes homosexual practice (meaning, same-sex relationships and sexual acts) a pastor – yes, a pastor – came against me for standing with God’s Word.

How dare I – how dare you – do such a thing. How dare you agree with Scripture. How dare you affirm that the Lord’s ways are best. That is so 1950s!

Rather than interact with a single thing I said, he later posted:

“Michael thinks LGBTQ people can NOT be LGBTQ. Michael thinks you can pray the gay away. Michael preys upon already marginalized people. Michael thinks other people’s bedrooms and body parts are his business. Don’t be like Michael.”

'Progressive' ChristianityNow, you would think it would trouble a pastor to post blatant falsehoods about other people, but when you’re “progressive,” you’re morally superior, which means you are the judge of the motives of others. You determine what they really think and believe, despite what they say and do. In the name of not judging, you are now the judge!

Of course, the issue is not what “Michael” thinks but what God says. That’s why, later in the night, I posted this:

“To all professing LGBT Christians and their allies: Please give me just ONE explicit verse in the Bible where God sanctions same-sex relationships. Just one. You know already there are clear verses saying the opposite.”

Not a single one gave me a single supporting verse. How telling!

In direct response to the pastor’s tweet, I wrote:

“John, by God’s grace, I know MANY ex-gays and lesbians who are so thankful for new life in Jesus. And I continue to have fruitful ministry around the world, NOT focused on LGBT issues. I have simply responded to biblical deception and radical activism. You have accommodated sin.”

How did he reply? He tweeted:

“No you don’t. You know people who you and others have badgered into modifying their behavior to stay in community. You’ve squandered your time here and you’ve caused irreparable harm to already marginalized people. That’s on you.”

Are you detecting a pattern? This “progressive” pastor has the right to misrepresent me publicly because, well, he’s progressive, so it must be right. He has the right to put words into my mouth (like “pray away the gay”) and make inane and ridiculous comments (such as the bedroom remarks), no matter how farfetched they may be.

But since, in his eyes, I’m a Bible-bashing religious fundamentalist and he’s a liberated progressive, his perceptions are the truth. Who cares about facts? Who cares about Scripture?

Not only so, he claims the right to deny the very real stories of thousands of ex-gays, people who, with God’s help, have left homosexual practice and gay identity behind. They do not exist. They cannot exist. If they did, it would cause his house of sand to collapse in an instant. It would mean that Jesus can change anyone.

So, in the name of standing with the marginalized, he casts out and mocks the most marginalized group in America today: ex-gays. This is the heart of Jesus? This is pursuing righteousness? This is practicing mercy?

The “progressives” also fail to realize that they are joining forces with those who want to take away rights, who want to silence Christians, who want to impose their ideology, who want to penalize all dissenters. (Yes, I’m talking about LGBT extremists and their allies, sometimes known as the pink mafia for a reason. I and many others have documented this steadily for years.)

And when it comes to fealty to the Word of God, the Twitter interaction proved extremely interesting.

Queen James BibleA professing gay Christian tweeted with joy about his upcoming wedding to his partner, telling me the Scripture he would use at the event. When I came back to him with other scriptures about same-sex relationships, he told me plainly that the Bible was not his final authority and that God was bigger than a book. Fascinating!

When I challenged a zealous supporter of “gay Christianity” when she simply repeated the standard, LGBT theological talking points, she told me I was obviously not a scholar. How dare I set the record straight. How dare I share the fruit of decades of serious academic study of the Scriptures (in their cultural context and in their original languages, with due attention to the Spirit’s intent). How dare I rely on the best research by the best scholars. How dare I burst her bubble.

Of course, when I asked her for a verse to back her points, she had none. When I presented her with verses that rebutted hers, she had vacuous talking points and nothing more.

But she was progressive, and I was not. Of course she was right. Of course I was not a scholar.

What I experienced over the course of hours of interaction with scores of different people was a steady tide of condescending, name-calling, biblically-bankrupt, and morally-hypocritical rhetoric, and all of it devoid of a single substantive response.

So, these folks can have their “progressive” religion (although I pray they’ll see the light). I’ll stay with the Jesus of the Bible, the Jesus who liberates and transforms, the Jesus who doesn’t affirm us in our sin but delivers us out of it.

He was good enough for the last 2,000 years. He’ll be good enough for eternity.

Update: Supreme Court justices press gay rights lawyer early in highly anticipated marriage arguments

Plaintiffs and attorneys celebrate in front of the Supreme Court in Washington, Tuesday, April 28, 2015, as they exit the court following arguments. The Supreme Court heard historic arguments in cases that could make same-sex marriage the law of the land. The justices met Tuesday to offer the first public indication of where they stand in the dispute over whether states can continue defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman

DETROIT, MI — The Supreme Court justice seen by many as the deciding vote in the nation’s same-sex marriage debate made early comments during highly anticipated oral arguments Tuesday could cause worry among gay rights activists.

Justice Anthony Kennedy said that marriage has been understood as the union of one man and one woman for “millennia-plus time,” according to an Associated Press reporter in the courtroom.

“It’s very difficult for the court to say ‘We know better,'” Kennedy said during gay rights lawyer Mary Bonauto’s presentation of arguments.

The hearing was interrupted at one point by a protester.

Crowd cheers as plaintiffs leave the Supreme Court, in Washington, Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Supreme Court heard historic arguments in cases that could make same-sex marriage the law of the land.

Five lawyers are expected to spend more than two hours presenting arguments.

Full audio from the session is expected to be released later this afternoon.

The court is considering two specific questions.

The first in relation to cases out of Michigan and Kentucky: “Does the 14th Amendment (equal protection) require a state to license a marriage between two people of the same sex?”

And the second on gay marriage cases out of Tennessee and Ohio: “Does the 14th Amendment require a state to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out of state?”

Michigan’s case stems from a 2012 lawsuit filed by a Hazel Park lesbian couple who can’t jointly adopt their four children without a legal marriage. April DeBoer and Jayne Rowse were in Washington for the arguments Tuesday. U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Dearborn) planned to host a reception for the couple after the hearings. Legal experts supporting the coupled planned to speak to reporters at 4 p.m.

Same Sex Marriage

Many will be listening for clues from Kennedy and Chief Justice John Roberts to gauge the direction of a ruling expected in June or July.

Here’s The Nazi Cake Jewish Bakeries Will Be Forced To Sell. THANKS GAY MAFIA! [VIDEO]

Thank God for YouTube. It gives us so much. Dancing cats. Epic journalism. Tillman the skateboarding bulldog. Disturbingly bad music videos. And now, inadvertently, the video-sharing website has provided a glimpse into our national future once critics of laws supporting religious freedom succeed in preventing small business owners from refusing certain work as a matter of conscience.

The issue currently consuming America is whether wedding vendors — and, bizarrely, small-town pizzerias — must be forced to provide goods and services for gay weddings when doing so is a religious burden. Many outraged supporters of gay marriage, including Apple CEO Tim Cook, whose company does business with Saudi Arabia, have flogged an Indiana law which would protect religious adherents.

These critics may want to limit protection to gay marriage, but legal principles work in strange, creeping ways. Forcing work on small business owners despite their objections is highly unlikely to stop at gay weddings. Other groups will want their special, carved-out protections, too.

As George Washington University Law School professor John Banzhaf has insightfully observed, there could come a day when;

  • A Muslim wedding caterer will refuse to serve alcohol at the wedding of two hard-drinking atheists.

  • Or perhaps a Jewish wedding planner won’t want to assist a Palestinian couple in preparing for their big day.

  • Or maybe a Jewish baker will decline to bake a red cake with a big black-and-white swastika on top for a German Nazi sympathizer — or even for a Jewish student who apparently likes the symbol.

difference

That day may be very far off. Or perhaps it will come very soon.

In any case, YouTube has foreseen it. The prophetic YouTube clip below comes from “California Reich,” an Academy Award-nominated 1975 documentary about pathetic neo-Nazi groups in three California locales: San Francisco, Los Angeles and the inland town of Tracy.

Here, with step-by-step instructions from a Nazi mom next door, is an example of the cake the Jewish baker might have to make once religious freedom is sufficiently diluted:

Limbaugh: What About Freedom to Love If ‘I Love Jesus’?

One of the rallying cries of opponents of Indiana’s religious freedom law is that people shouldn’t be discriminated against because of “who they love.” But radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh flipped that around on his show on Wednesday.
Critics of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act say it allows people to use their religious beliefs to discriminate against gay people. Proponents say it only allows business owners to refuse to perform their services, such as at same-sex weddings, if doing so is a violation of their faith.

Limbaugh noted that gay-rights advocates argue against the law saying, “Why are you so upset just because of who people love? … It’s discriminatory to care about who people love . . . Why are you objecting to it?” more evidence

Limbaugh said the phrase works both ways, because people who have strong religious convictions love their Lord. “I can tell you right now, I could mention I love somebody and it wouldn’t be accepted,” he told his audience. “I would be called a bigot and any number of other bad names. All I would have to do is say, ‘I love Jesus Christ.'”

Christian Man Asks Gay Bakers To Make Wedding Cake, How They Respond Proves Liberals Are Hypocrites

Posted by Michael CantrellDecember 16, 2014

Christian bakers have repeatedly been under attack from homosexuals and non-gay progressives for refusing to make wedding cakes for gay couples getting “married.”

Rather than expressing their displeasure by taking their money to another bakery, they file lawsuits geared toward completely destroying these folks’ livelihood. It’s pretty despicable.

One would think that since so many homosexuals claim they were discriminated against by Christians for not providing their services to them, a bakery owned by someone who is gay would have no problem baking a cake for a Christian straight couple, right? After all, they are the perfect examples of “tolerance” and “acceptance,” right?

WRONG.

From Wayne Dupree:

But what happens when the tables are turned? Theodore Shoebat wanted to find out. After spending quite some time calling various gay bakeries asking if they would bake a cake for a traditional marriage ceremony, he quickly found out that tolerance is a one-way street in their eyes. Shoebat was cursed at, screamed at, and met with animosity, but the frosting on the cake as when he was asked why he would make such a request, as it would go against the beliefs of the baker. Sound familiar, anyone?

Wait. What happened to all the talk of equality and tolerance? How dare these bigots refuse to serve a couple based on their religious beliefs! How rude!

Unlike the foul liberals who decided to sue Christian bakers and put them out of business for not violating their religious principles, Shoebat isn’t going to file a lawsuit against these hypocrites for not wanting to serve him.

Businesses have the right to choose who they serve and who they don’t. Those who don’t get served have the right to take their money elsewhere and urge their friends and family to boycott the business too.

Eventually, if enough customers are unhappy with the incident, they would stop shopping there and the baker would either switch up his stance or go out of business.

The free market would take care of all the “equality” issues. No need for the government to get involved.

Unfortunately, that’s not good enough for liberals, as that doesn’t provide them with a platform to expand the federal government further into the private lives of citizens.

Perhaps one day these hypocrites will wake up and see how silly they look and stop trying to force the world to believe what they believe. In other words, maybe they’ll actually start practicing tolerance instead of blabbing about the lack thereof.

The Crucifixion of Pastor Scott Lively

“Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”

– John 15:20

Christians, pastors, take heed. In case you haven’t noticed, times are a-changin’. Whether at home or abroad, if you follow God’s command to speak biblical truth in all things, most especially, it seems, on matters of sex and sexuality, you will be persecuted.

“A servant is not greater than his master.”

I don’t presume to compare my friend Scott Lively of Abiding Truth Ministries to Jesus Christ. None of us can compare, even remotely, to the one and only God-man – to the Lord of the universe and exclusive path to eternal salvation. That said, Pastor Lively is one of the most “Christ-like” people I’ve had the honor to know.

As did Christ, Scott Lively speaks absolute truth, in absolute love, with absolutely no fear of personal destruction or even death. He loves everyone, cp 11whether friend or foe, Christian or pagan, straight or “gay.”

For example, Scott and his family took into their home and nursed, both physically and spiritually, the late Sonny Weaver, a former homosexual who died, as so many have, from AIDS – a natural consequence of unnatural behavior. Sonny became homosexual after being raped at 7 years old by a “gay” man in a local YMCA. He became a former homosexual after accepting Jesus as Lord of his life.

Lively loves those who seek to defend him just as he loves those who seek to destroy him – and, make no mistake about it, precisely because Pastor Scott Lively has chosen to both obey and emulate Jesus Christ, there are people, very powerful people, who seek to destroy him. These people, unless and until they come to know, accept and surrender to the Lord Jesus, are, and will remain, enemies of God.

And so Scott Lively prays for them.

Remember those pastors in Houston who were told to turn over their sermons to radical lesbian-activist mayor Annise Parker? Remember the national outrage over this blatantly unconstitutional act of governmental abuse?

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Pastor Lively, you see, has, in the spirit of Saul Alinsky, been “Hitlerized” by a left-wing extremist group ironically calling itself the “Center for Constitutional Rights” (CCR). CCR is a George Soros-funded organization with, I kid you not, the beastly street address of 666 Broadway, New York, NY.

Because Lively exercised his God-given First Amendment rights, as well as his free-speech rights afforded by the laws of Uganda, and spoke cp 04biblical truth about homosexual sin after having been invited there by a number of Ugandan pro-family groups, homosexual activists set out to make an example of him.

In March of 2012 CCR sued Lively in a Massachusetts federal court for “crimes against humanity” – the same charge filed against Nazis who stood trial in Nuremberg – on behalf of another moonbat organization called “Sexual Minorities Uganda,” which, and again, you can’t make this stuff up, prefers the moniker “SMUG.”

And so Lively enlisted the pro-bono legal services of Liberty Counsel, one of America’s fastest-growing civil rights organizations.

Lively explains:

“With full knowledge that these are bald-faced lies, SMUG asserts that

1) I masterminded the 2009 Anti-Homosexuality Bill in Uganda, which they call the ‘Kill the Gays Bill’ [in fact, Lively publicly opposed the bill, which has since been struck down by Ugandan courts],

2) inflamed passions against homosexuals in Uganda by characterizing all homosexuals as irredeemable genocidal child molesters, and

3) introduced to Uganda the heretofore unknown strategy of criminalizing public promotion of homosexuality as a means of opposing the rise of a homosexual movement in Uganda. The proof that these are lies is found in the very same documents they misuse against me.”

CCR and SMUG also tried to blame Lively for the murder of Ugandan homosexual David Kato, a murder he also publicly condemned, making it thecp 13 centerpiece of their lawsuit until, and as was noted in Liberty Counsel’s Motion to Dismiss, it was revealed that, as Lively predicted, Kato was actually murdered by his “gay” lover who confessed to the crime, was convicted and is now in prison.

But all of this is incidental. It’s a smokescreen. Keep in mind; we’re talking about protected speech here. Lively is being tried for “crimes against humanity” for merely uttering, publicly, millennia-old biblical orthodoxy relative to sexual morality.

So how could such an Orwellian lawsuit – clearly designed as a weapon to both harass and intimidate Lively and anyone else who might dare challenge the global homosexual activist political agenda – even make its way into a U. S. federal court?

Well, CCR and SMUG’s angle was to circumvent that pesky ol’ First Amendment, as well as Ugandan free speech laws, through a gross misapplication of the Alien Tort Statute. Normally, this would have been laughed out of court and, in fact, just last year, even as this case was ongoing, the U.S. Supreme Court unequivocally ruled this very tactic to be unlawful.

But there’s nothing normal about this case.Shoving

Meet federal Judge Michael Ponsor. Ponsor, who thumbed his nose at the Supreme Court and denied Liberty Counsel’s slam dunk Motion to Dismiss, is the textbook example of a judicial activist. He has admitted as much, once saying in another context that, “At some point I realized that judges are the unappointed legislators of mankind, and what we do is just as creative.”

But for this judicial activist, the case would seem personal. At his inauguration to the federal bench he crowed, for instance, “We have a proud,The Real Gay Mafia vibrant gay and lesbian community.” Presumably he knows this because one of his ex-wives reportedly later “married” another woman, while his daughter once revealed publicly on social media that she, too, was a lesbian.

And so, to keep afloat the demonization of Scott Lively (of all Christians, really) despite the Supreme Court’s torpedo, and to keep alive this judicial abuse, harassment and intimidation – Ponsor, as promised, got “creative.”

Still, the case will eventually be tossed. It’s inevitable. But in the meantime, and as Harry Mihet, Pastor Lively’s lead attorney, points out, “Because the Court denied Mr. Lively’s Motion to Dismiss, we are now forced to go through many months and years of expensive and protracted discovery on two continents. Literally thousands of pages of documents are changing hands, and dozens of depositions will be taken. This makes the subpoenas to Houston pastors look like small potatoes.”

“SMUG’s and CCR’s end game is clear: Make war criminals out of anyone who encourages any legislative body to pass any legislation upholding the traditional family. If Scott Lively is guilty of the Crime Against Humanity of Persecution, then so are the Houston pastors and anyone who has ever tried to influence legislation against the homosexual juggernaut. There is no limiting principle,” concluded Mihet.

Yet, either way, for these anti-Christian extremists, the damage is done. The process is the punishment.

This was never about winning or losing.

It was always about intimidation.

cp 11The mask is off. All pretense has been dropped, and the anti-Christian left’s boundless depth of hatred for individual liberty, our First Amendment and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) is now on full display.

wrote last week about the Supreme Court’s recent Hobby Lobby opinion, a rather tepid acknowledgement of every American’s non-negotiable right to religious free exercise (yes, that includes Christian business owners). I observed, among other things, that “the secularist left’s utter meltdown over having but a small measure of control over others wrested away is highly instructive.”

The meltdown continues. This week brings two new developments:

1) Democrats in Congress are readying a legislative “Hobby Lobby fix” that stands exactly zero chance of passing and would be struck down as unconstitutional even if it did, and

2) The ACLU, AFL-CIO, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Lambda Legal and a hodgepodge of other left-wing extremist groups have withdrawn support for the ironically tagged “Employment Non-Discrimination Act,” the crown jewel of homofascism, because the bill’s paper-thin “religious exemption” does not adequately outlaw the practice of Christianity.

The Hobby Lobby ‘fix’

Addressing the high court’s Hobby Lobby decision on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., fumed, “We have so much to do this

Click on image to see movie trailer and more

month, but the one thing we’re going to do during this work period – sooner rather than later – is to ensure that women’s lives are not determined by virtue of five white men.”

To which Justice Clarence Thomas replied, “Say what, honkey?”

“This Hobby Lobby decision is outrageous,” continued Reid, “and we’re going to do something about it.”

Well, “do something about it” they shall try. TalkingPointsMemo.com reported on legislation Democrats introduced Thursday that would do away with religious liberty protections altogether:

“The legislation will be sponsored by Sens. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and Mark Udall, D-Colo. According to a summary reviewed by TPM, it prohibits employers from refusing to provide health services, including contraception [and abortion pills], to their employees if required by federal law. It clarifies that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the basis for the Supreme Court’s ruling against the mandate, and all other federal laws don’t permit businesses to opt out of the Obamacare requirement.’

“The legislation also puts the kibosh on legal challenges by religious nonprofits, like Wheaton College, instead declaring that the accommodation they’re provided under the law [there is none] is sufficient to respect their religious liberties.”

cp 12This reactionary response to the Hobby Lobby ruling is, of course, little more than an election year fundraising scheme for the Democratic National Committee.

Withdrawn support for ENDA(Employment Non-Discrimination Act)

The Washington Post reports, “Several major gay rights groups withdrew support Tuesday for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act that would bolster gay and transgender rights in the workplace, saying they fear that broad religious exemptions included in the current bill might compel private companies to begin citing objections similar to those that prevailed in a U.S. Supreme Court case last week. …’

Shoving

“But the groups said they can no longer back ENDA as currently written in light of the Supreme Court’s decision last week to strike down a key part of President Obama’s health-care law. The court ruled that family-owned businesses do not have to offer their employees contraceptive coverage that conflicts with the owners’ religious beliefs,” concluded the Post.

Gary Glenn is a candidate for the Michigan State House. He’s also president of AFA Michigan (American Family Association of Michigan). Glenn has been a national leader in defense of religious liberty for well upon two decades. In an email, Glenn wrote, “The extremely limited religious exemptions typically included in discriminatory homosexual and cross-dressing ‘rights’ laws have always been mere window-dressing with no real protection or effect, as witnessed by the ongoing persecution and discrimination under such laws against Christian business owners and community organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, and even the United Way.’

“But now that the U.S. Supreme Court’s Hobby Lobby decision threatens to give real teeth to such exemptions, the AFL-CIO’s in-house homosexual activist group has announced it will no longer support discriminatory ‘sexual orientation’ legislation that includes even limited exemptions for religious institutions.’

“If this zero tolerance stance spreads to larger groups such as the Human Rights Campaign and National Gay and Lesbian Task Force [it now has], this could become the sticking point which hamstrings future attempts to pass federal, state, and local homosexual ‘rights’ legislation. These supposed religious exemptions, which the AFL-CIO’s homosexual lobby at least now says it will no longer support, have been a key propaganda point in blunting the opposition of churches and citizens concerned about the obvious threat such laws pose to religious freedom.”

Imperial President ObamaAccording to its leftist proponents, ENDA would merely insulate people who choose to engage in homosexual conduct (sexual orientation) or those who suffer from gender confusion (gender identity) against employment intolerance. In truth, however, this legislation effectively would codify the very thing it purports to combat: workplace discrimination.

Though in its current form ENDA contains an extremely weak religious exemption that might – and I mean might – partially protect some churches and religious organizations (until they’re sued by sodomite activists), this so-called exemption would leave most others, such as Bible bookstores and many Christian schools and para-church organizations, entirely unprotected. It would additionally crush individual business owners’ guaranteed First Amendment rights.

Any “religious exemption” is meaningless. Last year Harry Reid promised homosexual pressure groups that Democrats would remove all protections for Christians and other people of faith on the flipside – after ENDA passed. The homosexual news site Washington Blade reported that homosexual activist CP 01Derek Washington of “GetEqual” confirmed Reid’s promise. In a conference call with homosexual activists, Washington admitted that Reid vowed, as goes any religious exemption, “the main thing to do was get the vote taken care of, and then deal with it later. As oftentimes happens, you don’t get something perfect the first time around, you go back and fix it later, so that was basically his take on it.”

According to the Blade, “That account was corroborated by Faiz Shakir, a Reid spokesperson, who said the Democratic leader understands the concerns, but wants to get the bill passed first, then go back and address the exemptions.”

They’ve stopped pretending, folks. This is about criminalizing Christianity. The Hobby Lobby decision has merely made secular liberals forget themselves momentarily. It’s blown back the propagandist curtain to expose their truly sinister aims. Hobby Lobby hasn’t put the “culture war” to rest. It’s taken a gavel to the “progressive” hornets’ nest.

Break out the popcorn and Jujubes. It’s about to get interesting.

Pennsylvania Church Finds Out: Sodomy Is All About Pride

By / 16 February 2014

http://clashdaily.com/2014/02/pennsylvania-church-incident-demonstrates-sodomy-pride/#SJLhZgpQoRUJapfb.99

gay pride

Some people attempt to justify sodomy by saying that the Bible doesn’t condemn it. They point to the Bible saying that pride was the sin of Sodom. Pride indeed was the sin of Sodom but that doesn’t mean that sodomy wasn’t. In fact, sodomy is the epitome of pride. Nothing demonstrates this better than a recent story in the York Daily Record in Pennsylvania.

YDR published, “Local church removes gay man’s membership, denies him communion,” on February 1. A church exercising biblical discipline shouldn’t be a story. But it is to the YDR. And that isn’t surprising since the YDR thinks that people who don’t embrace sin are “homophobic.

The author of the story presents a façade of being unbiased but that pretense never works because of two reasons. The first reason is that passages such as the following reveal the author’s contempt for the pastor and the church:

Slautterback said he reads the Bible to say that homosexuality is a sin.

He cited several verses of scripture, including Matthew 5:27–28, which says “Thou shalt not commit adultery, but…whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.”

Matthew 5:27-28 clearly says more than what the author excerpts but citing the full passage would have undermined the author’s agenda.

But the second reason the façade fails is even more powerful. The second reason is that the origin of the article clearly reveals that it was meant to be an information operation against the church. It also reveals why sodomy is the epitome of pride.

The article quotes David Slautterback, the pastor of Ambassador’s Bible Chapel, and he reveals how YDR found its story:

Pastor David Slautterback said that he and other church elders removed Pierce from the church’s membership — and announced that fact to the congregation during the church service last Sunday — because Pierce has failed to have a change of mind concerning his sexuality.

Slautterback said Friday that he and the other elders want Pierce to repent for his sin and to return to fellowship at the church, where he is still welcome to attend as long as he does not cause division or speak contrary to scripture.

“We’re accused of hate, Bobbie has accused us of hate,” Slautterback said. “I think Bobbie’s action (of talking to the York Daily Record) is an action of hate.”

And just how did Pierce initiate contact with the YDR?

Pierce posted on the York Daily Record’s Facebook page a letter he said he received from the church. He said he decided to talk about what was happening with him because he wants others to know they’re not alone.

So Slautterback and the Ambassador’s Bible Chapel followed the Bible but at the same time didn’t attempt to humiliate Pierce. Pierce decided to repay this generous act of kindness by going to the press and wailing about being a “victim.” Only a person full of pride would do such a despicable thing. (And only an ethically challenged organization would agree to participate.)

But it gets worse. The article later reveals that Pierce is going to throw the continued generosity of the church in its face: “Pierce said he plans to continue attending Ambassador’s Bible Chapel ‘to show that I’m going to rise above the hate, or at least I’m not afraid.’ ”

Stop and think about that. A private organization has stated its beliefs and that an individual who doesn’t want to follow those beliefs cannot be a member. However, the organization, in an extraordinary act of kindness, says that the individual still can attend. The individual spits on this extraordinary act of kindness by continuing to proclaim that he is the victim . . . even as he takes advantage of the offer to continue attending church services.

This perfectly demonstrates who sodomites are: sexual anarchists who wish to redefine the truth even as they demand the world participate in their delusion. Everyone must participate. And this is the perfect demonstration of why sodomy is the epitome of pride.

HateSymbol-307x275America has turned, and it is becoming completely hostile to Christianity. Last week, U.S. Army active duty and reserve troops were briefed on the American Family Association at Camp Shelby in Mississippi. There, they were officially listed as a domestic hate group, in the KKK manner, the Black Panther kind; that kind of a hate group. The AFA has been labeled the kind of hate group that targets people of color and carries out mass destruction. Why?

It boils down to the fact that the AFA has taken a strong position on traditional family values. They will not cave to the ravenous homosexual agenda that is driving this ship, starting at the top and working its way down.

Fox news contributor Todd Starnes stated, “A soldier who attended the briefing contacted me and sent me a photograph of a slide show presentation that listed AFA as a domestic hate group. Under the AFA headline is a photograph of Westboro Baptist Church preacher Fred Phelps holding a sign reading “No special law for f***.”

The AFA has nothing to do with Westboro, which is well known for picketing servicemen and women’s funerals, among other such antics. To label the AFA in the same context as Westboro is just an easy way out, and it’s convenient and fits the agenda of the Administration. Mikey Weinstein, the Obama Administration’s “consultant” for religious tolerance to the Pentagon, is behind this. He’s a militant atheist and the founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

660-Starnes-AFA-briefingUsing the “anti-gay” angle for a reason to label a strong Christian organization as a domestic hate group is simply one facet of a greater strategy. That strategy is to label all Christian ministries as hate groups simply for being Christians. That is the next step.

The instructor said AFA could be considered a hate group because they don’t like gays,” the soldier told me. “The slide was talking about how AFA refers to gays as sinners and heathens and derogatory terms.” Later in the briefing, the soldiers were reportedly told that they could face punishment for participating in organizations that are considered hate groups.

The AFA spurs activism directed to:

This is standard Christian protocol, but when you have decidedly anti-Christian forces working to rid the world of Christian influence, this is what you get. This is nothing more than an all out purging of Christianity. The virus that is the homosexual agenda is at play here, but this feeds into the greater hatred of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Top consultant Mikey Weinstein reportedly calls evangelicals in the military “a virulently dominionist, fundamentalist evangelical Christian element within the Pentagon. They would prefer this to be the ‘Pentecostalgon,’ not the Pentagon…. they don’t have the mental wherewithal to understand that to a person who isn’t an evangelical Christian, you’re calling our faith a cancer.”

Weinstein leads straight to Chuck Hagel, and then to President Obama. The chain is perfectly in tact, and the goal singular.

If our military wasn’t headed by a commander-in-chief who is hostile to Christian faith, these allegations would be laughed off every military base in the world,” Bryan Fischer said.

Fisher could not be more correct. This is the work of a President who tells the world he’s a Christian, but is a Muslim. He’s a fraud, an imposter. He’s using the American military, one of the strongest Christian institutions in this country, to sow “seeds of doubt” about Christians to the American people. He’s sowing discord, which is what he does best. This battle is 100 percent Satanic. Purge the world of Christianity, and then everyone will truly be free. It’s the most twisted of perversions, but people fall for it every time.
