The United Teachers Los Angeles has released a list of demands that it argues must be met before schools can reopen in America’s second-largest city. While some of the proposals might seem reasonable in light of the coronavirus pandemic, others sound like they were crafted by New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Members of the Los Angeles Unified School District’s teachers union apparently have adapted Rahm Emanuel’s phrase “never let a good crisis go to waste” as their slogan. At the very least, the policy paper put together by the United Teachers Los Angeles containing its insane demands illustrates just how political teachers unions have become.
The 35,000-member teachers union sees the coronavirus as a perfect opportunity to demand the enactment of a far-left agenda that it supported long before COVID-19 arrived in America. According to the political activists at the helm of UTLA, “The Safe and Equitable Conditions for Starting LAUSD in 2020-21” include;
the defunding of police,
a federal bailout of LA schools and
the abolition of charter schools.
While the document acknowledged that “the CARES and HEROES Acts provided funding for K-12,” it complained that the district still needed more money. In addition, the section on the desired “Federal Support” for reopening LAUSD schools included a demand for “Medicare for All.”

As for the section on “State Support,”the document calls on the state of California to implement a “millionaire’s tax” and a “wealth tax.” While the teachers seem quite confident that the massive redistribution of wealth would result in much-desired revenue, they failed to take into account the fact that many millionaires would flee the state the second the higher taxes were imposed.
The most ridiculous demands came in the section on “Local Support.”Calling on local leaders to “defund police,” the brains behind the left-wing wish list urged elected officials to “shift the astronomical amount of money devoted to policing, to education and other essential needs such as housing and public health.”
Apparently, the people behind the UTLA paper aren’t bothered by the fact that homicides in their city rose by 250 percent in the first week of June as anti-law enforcement sentiment first swept through major American cities.

This shouldn’t come as much of a shock. Last month, Cecily Myart-Cruz, the union’s president, described the police as a symbol of “white supremacy” that needed to be dismantled.
Not surprisingly, the document had few kind words for charter schools, which teachers unions see as an enormous threat to their monopolistic power. UTLA said it wants a “charter moratorium,” but this radical list of demands should make Los Angeles parents who do not subscribe to the dictates of cultural marxism want to send their children to charter schools more than ever.
No document filled with left-wing demands would be complete without a call for “Financial Support for Undocumented Students and Families.”
It looks like President Donald Trump had it right when he declared that “the Democrats don’t want to open schools in the Fall for political reasons.”
This document should make Americans eternally grateful for the 2018 Janus decision in which the Supreme Court ruled that “public employees will no longer be required to pay involuntary agency fees to special-interest groups.” Nothing epitomizes the phrase “special-interest group” like a teachers union, which uses those agency fees to fund far-left groups such as the Center for American Progress and Media Matters.
The release of the UTLA demands comes just weeks before school is set to resume in Los Angeles on Aug. 18.
Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has made it clear to the nation’s governors that at the beginning of the next school year, “School must reopen, they must be fully operational.” For the most part, she is right. Schools should reopen in the fall.
However, in a place like Los Angeles, where advancing a political agenda is more important to the teachers than educating the next generation, parents should seriously consider homeschooling or sending their children to a charter or private school. Only then will liberal activists moonlighting as teachers in Los Angeles and other parts of the country get the message that many Americans do not support the push among some schools to reject “objectivity” in favor of indoctrinating America’s students with left-wing propaganda.

Officers Edelmiro Garza, Jr, 45, and Ismael Chavez, 39, of the McAllen Police Department in Texas were both gunned down during an ambush responding to a domestic violence call. Chavez was a former teacher and football coach. His daughter Savannah posted several memories and tributes to her father on Twitter.
One particular post, Savannah posted on the day he was killed was incredibly heartwarming, however, as you’ll see below she had to delete it because of heartless “tolerant” liberals on the internet.
Savannah wrote:
“Words cannot describe the pain I’m in, but I’m glad my dad is at peace. you were an amazing man and anyone who ever came across you knew that. I’m going to miss you so much. you died doing what you loved most, you died a hero. i love you daddy, see you soon. #bluelivesmatter 💙.”
One user responded claiming that Savannah was using a “racist” hashtag by writing #bluelivesmatter.
“I am so sorry for your loss but you didn’t have to use a racist hashtag,” wrote that Twitter user, who later identified herself as a high school student, writing, “the fact that almost all these replies are by old bitter white ppl who have nothing else better to do but argue with a high schooler lmao i’m living in yalls minds rent free 💅🏽 anyway #JusticeforBreonnaTaylor.”
Another person wrote, “Blue lives matter was literally created in response to and to undermine black lives matter. There’s no other connotation unfortunately.”
Twitter users triggered over the hashtag continued, “i know the absolute pain of losing a parent. i was 11 when my dad died. it almost destroyed me. but #bluelivesmatter is bullsh*t because it’s a badge and a uniform. it can be taken off. becoming a cop is a CHOICE. all lives can’t matter until #blacklivesmatter.”
Mr. President, this is the most important column I’ve ever written. We have a successful treatment for Covid-19. Now we need an Executive Order from you to put it into play.

Let me first mention a few reasons we don’t need to panic. Covid-19 is not the end of the world, or America.
First, why was the liberal media playing up “deaths” for months…putting daily “death counts” on the front page of newspapers…yet now that the death count has dropped dramatically, they’re using “cases” as the new metric. Are they trying to create hysteria? Do they want the economy shut down?
Second, why isn’t anyone comparing Sweden with Michigan? Sweden is a country of 10 million that never closed their economy. Not for one day, not for one minute. Everyone went about their business and lived their lives. They have 5,545 dead.

Michigan is a state of about 9.9 million. The same size as Sweden. They locked down their citizens and closed all their businesses, tighter than any state in America. They have 6,075 dead. More than Sweden.
This proves there is no need to ever shut down our economy, or lockdown the people. It doesn’t work. Period. End of story. It’s the perfect apples to apples comparison. Sweden is the winner. Michigan is the loser.
People will get sick with Covid-19 no matter what we do. But when you close the economy, the cure is worse than the disease. Not just for the people who are broke, with their businesses closed, jobs gone, lives in shambles. Government has it even worse. Every state and city government in America is now hopelessly broke and desperate.
That’s the result of just one closure that lasted only two months. If we close again, we will destroy the US economy forever.
Third, and here’s the big one. I keep asking this question, and I’m still waiting for answer. What is the difference between Covid-19 and the Hong Kong Flu of 1968-69? By every measure it appears to be a carbon copy. It’s the same flu pandemic, from the same place, with the same results- over 100,000 dead at a time when America was dramatically smaller.

Nevertheless, we never closed the economy, or sports events, or concerts, or Vegas casinos, or schools, or anything. We let Woodstock go on in the summer of 1969, with over 400,000 young people having sex with strangers, playing on top of one another in the rain and mud. It didn’t ruin America. The media said nothing about it. There was no panic or hysteria. There were no lockdowns, or shutdown. It was the flu. Life went on. So, what’s the big difference today?
Other than Donald J. Trump as president.
Other than a mentally insane and vicious left with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Other than a nation filled with liberal snowflakes, afraid of their own shadow.
Other than a Democrat Party willing to do anything to stop Trump- including destroy Trump’s economy, or lock us all in our homes, demand a mail-in ballot election, and steal the election from Trump and the Silent Majority (because they know that’s the only way they can win).
We need to go on with our lives- just like 1968-69.
Now to the solution. This solution saves the economy. It protects the elderly. It stops the panic and hysteria. No one ever again needs to fear leaving their home. We can all go to work. We can save thousands of lives. Because we have a treatment that works.

Former Navy SEAL and Missouri Governor Eric Greitens was a hero again on Monday night.
Earlier in the evening Eric Greitens appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show on FOX News. He then went to dinner with a friend in St. Louis at Vito’s Sicilian Restaurant near St. Louis University. During their meal they heard several gunshots down the street. They both quickly jumped from their table grabbed their guns and medical kits and ran west down Lindell where they saw two victims laying near the College Church at St. Louis University.
The Gateway Pundit spoke to Eric Greitens shortly after the incident tonight.
Eric told Jim Hoft: So we were eating at Vito’s Pizzeria (after his FOX News interview). We’re sitting there and we hear I’d say at least 15 to 25 gunshots go off. Semiautomatic and automatic rifle fire. We grabbed our weapons and med kits, got in my car and drove about two or three blocks west and when we got there there was one guy who was already laying out on the street, multiple gunshot wounds, severe condition. So my buddy who’s a trained licensed medic started working on him, giving him CPR. I helped out with some items from the first aid kit. And then there was a second victim. I ran over there and I did what I could to help the medics, put a tourniquet on the guy. And he was taken away. The first guy was in very, very critical condition. So the second guy was in a better state. We got him into an ambulance. The first guy didn’t make it.

Jim Hoft: Oh my God. You’re still a hero, Eric. Was there anybody else there at the time?
Eric Greitens: By the time we got there there was already, I’d say one public safety officer and a nurse. Two public safety officers from SLU and a nurse came over quickly. And just my friend and I.
Jim Hoft: So that was like a couple blocks west of Grand?
Eric Greitens: It was at Lindell and Grand. The victim, the first victim, his body was literally sitting in front of the church. The other victim was across the street at Jesuit Hall.
Eric Greitens then added this on the situation in St. Louis.

Eric Greitens: The thing I would like to say is this is just another demonstration of the tremendous courage of the police officers and nurses who were out there on the front lines every day doing this work. They deserve to have real and strong leadership and unfortunately you have cowards at the top who are refusing to take action.

Young women can’t seem to catch a break in high school these days. If they show any skin, they’re going to be sent home for violating the dress code. But fourteen-year-old freshman Ciretta MacKenzie found herself violating the dress code for wearing a T-shirt just like any other – except her school did not like the pro-Trump message written across the front.
As a result, the principal of Epping High School ordered MacKenzie to cover up the political shirt or go home as punishment. The teenager was upset that she was not allowed to express her support of the current president and was stunned that she was given the ultimatum that could ultimately affect her performance in school.
“I don’t understand why I was dress coded. There’s no reason. I was supporting my president. What is wrong with that?”
Because MacKenzie felt that she had every right to wear the political shirt despite what people felt. However, Principal Brian Ernest felt that her “Make America Great Again” shirt was inappropriate. And he used the opportunity to lecture her on what he felt that way about Trump and his policies.
“He gave me a speech saying how we can’t mix church and state within the school and how President Trump is very controversial.”
However, MacKenzie had worn the shirt to school only because it was celebrating “America Day.” Students were encouraged to wear patriotic clothing, and the fourteen-year-old freshman felt that nothing was more patriotic than supporting the president.
The principal said that he was telling her to cover up her Trump shirt because he didn’t want her to be harassed.
“After I covered up because I was kind of ashamed, kids who don’t support Trump, some of them were, like, ‘You get what you deserve. Shouldn’t be wearing,’” she said.
Because the principal singled her out because of her love for Trump, she felt that others were taking notice of her when they otherwise wouldn’t have. Other students kept talking to her about the Trump shirt and picked on her for wearing it to school because it was very unpopular.
“I wish he told me, ‘You are wearing a Trump shirt, he is controversial, I’m not going tell you to cover it up, but if you do have any harassment or anything, just come to me, and I’ll handle it.’ I wish that was how he handled it. I think he took the easy way out.”
Because the teen felt that the school mishandled the situation, she wants to speak to administrators. She also planned to attend a school board meeting to speak out against the policy that she felt squelched her freedom of speech.
Since MacKenzie fought back, the school district superintendent has written a letter indicating that the incident is being investigated. Meanwhile, the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire has submitted a request for more information because they don’t stand for violations of the US Constitution.

The Trump administration finalized another pro-life regulation Monday, this one to clarify that the definition of sex discrimination in Obamacare does not include abortions.

A federal judge blocked another pro-life rule from President Donald Trump’s administration Friday that would have protected Americans from funding abortions through Obamacare without their knowledge.
A federal judge nominated by President Barack Obama has overturned a Georgia state law banning abortions after a legal challenge from the billion-dollar abortion industry.
In what seems like record time, Planned Parenthood convinced a judge to block a new Tennessee pro-life law just 45 minutes after Gov. Bill Lee signed it Monday morning.
Dr. Jeff Barke, who is treating COVID-19 patients in Southern California, says there are two reasons that cases are spiking at the moment, and they both were anticipated. California is among the states seeing the steepest increases in confirmed coronavirus cases, with nearly 10,000 new cases reported on Tuesday, a one-day high mark since tracking began in the spring Texas, the nation’s second-most-populous state, is seeing similar numbers, with over 10,000 new cases reported Thursday.
Barke, a primary care physician in Orange County, says the increased numbers were to be expected as states reopened their economies, but also pointed to the impact of the mass protests that occurred in June. The shutdown was never intended to prevent people from getting COVID-19, but to spread out the infection rate and thus flatten the curve to keep hospitals from being overwhelmed, he said.
“We’re seeing increased cases, as expected,” Barke told PragerU’s Will Witt in an interview published this week. “This is not a surprise.”

“We shut down the economy; now we opened it up, so people are going about their businesses, back to restaurants, back to retail, back to shopping, and they’re going to get exposed to the virus and that’s OK.”
Another factor contributing to the spike in cases were large-scale protests following the death of George Floyd.
“The other problem that we’ve seen is that we’ve had massive protests across the United States and rioting,” Barke said.
“Thousands and thousands of people in almost every single state, almost all of whom were in close proximity to each other.”

“Many of them were not wearing masks. So of course a few weeks after these protests, we’re going to see a spike in cases. That shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody.”
Fox News reported officials in Los Angeles, Seattle and Florida’s Miami-Dade County have confirmed the protests may have contributed to the spike in cases in their localities. The good news Barke observed is that most people at the mass gatherings appeared to be young and likely will recover from the coronavirus without much difficulty.
The Hill reported June 20 that young people were driving the latest spike in COVID-19 cases. The majority of new cases in Texas were people under 30 years old, according to Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott.
“In California, 44 percent of recent coronavirus cases occurred in those under the age of 35, according to a study by George Lemp, director of the University of California’s HIV/AIDS Research Program,” The Hill reported.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNBC that the average age of those contracting the coronavirus has indeed dropped by 15 years since a few months ago. The lower ages are also apparently contributing to the falling death rate due to the virus.
Overall, the United States is experiencing a relatively low case fatality rate — 4.2 percent — compared with other countries, according to Johns Hopkins University.

President Donald Trump keeps building his wall, but Democrats, led by Joe Biden, might put a sudden stop to it. In fact, a new proposed policy platform for the DNC shows sweeping reform that would halt wall construction and affect all the globe’s migrants.
It’s called The Biden-Sanders Unity Task Force Recommendations, and it makes a dramatic statement: It would give asylum to basically everyone who wants to come here. Drafted by supporters of presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), it’s an all-encompassing document.

The document … would provide amnesty and a pathway to U.S. citizenship to the 11 to 22 million illegal aliens living in the nation and welcome hundreds of millions of the world’s migrants.
First up, the plan wants to expand asylum for migrants arriving at the U.S./Mexico border. It would force immigration authorities to release all migrants into the interior of the U.S. while awaiting their hearings. The plan also ends construction of Trump’s wall, stops deportations for all undocumented citizens, and ends all travel bans. This means the bans in place on national security-risk nations, such as China, Iran, and Brazil, would disappear.

Restraining DAPA for the parents of DACA aliens
Rescinding Trump’s “national emergency” at the border
Increasing refugee resettlement
Gives Obamacare to DACA aliens
Forces Americans to subsidize welfare-dependent legal immigration

This plan is bound to face some backlash, simply because it’s so broad and drastic in its approach. Critics will undoubtedly cite the fact that 35 million Americans are currently unemployed or underemployed. As a result, bringing in over 2.5 million immigrants and asylum seekers could be seen as unwelcome.
While it’s unlikely that the entirety of the plan will ever take effect, it makes the DNC’s stance on the topic quite clear. And it’s bound to rile the Trump administration, so expect a response in the near future.

America is unique in its experience of coronavirus in that it appears it will have to undergo both its own epidemiological curve and Mexico’s, because the two countries are evidently more closely tied together than even individual U.S. states are to each other.
I have written a three-part series showing how the most serious cases that began to surface in the country in late May/early June – after we had already experienced our peak – came from Mexico. You can read the series here, here, and here. Now there is more shocking evidence of this phenomenon.
The data from border counties is astounding
The three Rio Grande Valley counties – Starr, Hidalgo, and Cameron – have 1,139 hospitalizations currently listed as COVID-19 patients. In total, as of yesterday, they had 4,070 active cases when combining the county dashboard data of the three counties. That is a 29% hospitalization-to-case ratio. As of June 27, that rate for the country was 5.8% (14.7K hospitalizations out of roughly 253,000 active cases).
Hidalgo County recorded just 23 virus deaths from the beginning of March through June 23, but 80 deaths in the two weeks since then. The three border counties are 4.4 percent of Texas’ population but account for 12 percent of the hospitalizations. We don’t know at this point how many more from the border were transferred to the larger cities up north, as we saw with the border-crossers in California who were sent to the larger city hospitals.
That is simply an astounding number and reveals once again that the Mexican side of the border is likely the biggest culprit driving the growth of the most serious cases, which we are not really seeing in most other parts of the country. It’s not natural that counties sitting at the border would mysteriously get hit with a strain of the virus causing so much more hospitalization than anywhere else. What this clearly demonstrates is a case drain flowing from across the border, where the most seriously ill patients are crossing over for care.
We are finding this dynamic across the border. Imperial County is one of California’s least densely populated counties, yet at 40.1 hospitalizations per 100,000 residents, it had the highest rate of coronavirus hospitalizations in the state. That is more than twice the rate of Los Angeles County, which is the largest county in the country and is 57 times more populous and 69 times more densely populated than Imperial County.
The rate of increase in positive tests has also grown five times quicker in Hidalgo County, the main border county in southeast Texas, than in Harris County (Houston). The same dynamic is playing out on California’s border with Mexico, where the border areas of San Diego County have the most cases per capita:
The Tijuana-California border as well as the Hidalgo County, Texas-Mexico border have the most cross-border travel from citizens on both sides. It doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to figure out why these parts of America, which never had much of a problem in March and April, got hit around the same time Mexico began to surge:
The same story across the border … except for New Mexico
Arizona border towns also have a cross-travel culture with Mexico. Thus, we see zip codes in Yuma that had more cases than in Phoenix. The 85350 zip code of Yuma has 2,461 reported cases, more than 30 percent higher than the largest tally in Phoenix’s top zip code (85033), even though the latter is nearly three times more populous.
Also, it’s very likely that Yuma border cases were transferred to the hospitals in Phoenix and might have added to their numbers as well because the small border towns didn’t have capacity to deal with them, just as we saw in California. It would be interesting to find out how many of the border patients got transferred to Texas’s larger cities as well.
The shocking contrast to these three border states is the fourth one – New Mexico. New Mexico has barely experienced any deaths outside the Indian reservation areas and never experienced the hospitalization surge in June. New Mexico is the perfect control group when studying the effects of the border. The demographics are similar to the other three states, as are the weather and latitude. However, the difference is that although three counties in New Mexico touch the Mexican border, there is absolutely no civilization in the Mexican desert across the border. You have to travel much farther east to Juarez before you get to a city. Juarez is a sister city of El Paso, Texas, which is why anyone coming for care would go there, not to New Mexico. Moreover, there are no sister cities across the border for Americans living in New Mexico to work in or shop at and, in doing so, bring in Mexico’s later coronavirus hit.
The contrasting data are jarring. Doña Ana County, New Mexico’s main border county, experienced just 11 deaths. That is 1/10 the number of El Paso deaths (111), even though El Paso County is only three times larger, and 1/7 the number of deaths (71) in Cameron County (Brownsville), which is only two times larger.
Cochise County, Arizona, which is next door to New Mexico, had 20 deaths, but is half the size of Doña Ana County. According to Cochise County’s dashboard, most of that is being driven by the city of Douglas, which is right at the border and is a sister city of Agua Prieta in Mexico. Yuma County, Arizona, has roughly the same population as Doña Ana and has 124 deaths, 11 times greater. That’s because there is a sister city in Mexico and numerous green card holders and dual citizens came for treatment. The New York Times reported in early June, “Border towns in Arizona are experiencing an increase in infections that health officials believe is tied to people coming in from Sonora state.”
It’s the border, not the reopening from the lockdown
More circumstantial evidence that this is related to the border comes from demographic information on the county dashboards. In Cochise County, 72 percent of all cases where the ethnicity of the infected individual is known are Hispanic, even though Hispanics compose just 35.7 percent of the county’s population.
Thus, the enormous dichotomy between New Mexico and the other border states cannot be ignored and clearly demonstrates that border crossings from Mexico – both Mexican residents coming for treatment and Americans traveling back and forth – were responsible for the surge in the three larger border counties.
The notion that the reopening and not the border is the culprit for the spike in the three other border states is absurd.As Axios showed, Arizona experienced one of the most severe slowdowns in social mobility, and its shutdown appears to be much deeper than New Mexico’s. Moreover, California had the strictest and longest lockdown. L.A. still has severe restrictions to this day, yet it reported 65 deaths on Wednesday.
Take a look at this chart of the social mobility scores of the four border states as compared to the national average, based on Google mobility data.
As you can see, New Mexico actually consistently had the most mobility and was the only state that had a score consistently above the national average.
Hence, it’s all about the border, not the reopening.
Finally, coming back to the Texas border, it’s important to remember that right during the target weeks when we would have expected deaths to rise from the reopening, there was not a single death recorded in Hidalgo County from May 15 to June 15. On the other hand, there were 80 deaths since June 23, coinciding perfectly with the timing of the Mexican coronavirus surge.
The real story is that while these politicians are busy infringing upon liberties of Americans, they forgot to do the one thing that actually helps: stop cross-border travel. In March, Governor Greg Abbott had no problem issuing a mandatory quarantine for those traveling back from California; Connecticut; New York; New Jersey; Washington; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Detroit, Michigan; or Miami, Florida. He even set up checkpoints on the roads leading into Texas from Louisiana to screen people and enforce the mandatory quarantine, as if Louisiana were an international border.
Yet, to this day, when it comes to the international border itself, while the hospitals in Mexico are failing to cope with the peak that began in late May, states refuse to issue a mandatory quarantine. Now, Americans are getting blamed.
Second-class citizens, indeed.

I was setting here watching Tucker Carlson, and a recurring thought came to mind. A series of movies to be as specific as I dare, because just thinking about these movies might be enough for the “thought police” to have me ______.
Tucker was talking about an article I published today about some “special training” the city of Seattle made mandatory their “WHITE” employees had to participate in. One of the takeaways was the mandatory apology for being born “WHITE”.
See, there goes those thoughts of movies again.
Of all the unrest that has been growing and brewing over the last 30 years, this present craziness appears to be the most dangerous. The drums of civil war have been growing louder for 30 years or more. As Leftist of all kinds press their divisiveness politics, and some of those groups actually forming plans of creating civil war (ANTIFA is the latest), anger, malice and unreasonable expectations have risen in alarming proportions.
Now Black Lives Matter, and their submissive white supporters, are pushing for “re-education” classes, school curriculum for grades 1-12, and adult required seminars put on by their employers and making them a requirement for employment.
Tonight, Tucker made a really great point: I the news came out that such demands were made about black people, the entire world would rip it apart, and rightly so. I would help lead the way. But because the focus is on people born Caucasian, it is perfectly okay to attack, dehumanize, insult, demean, et al. Add to that anyone who opposes BLM’s Marxist agenda is called racist and every effort is made to destroy that person, their employment, family and anyone associated with them. As a result, the drums of civil war grow louder, the heated rhetoric increases exponentially, and all attempts for civil discourse diminishes.
Please explain to me how any of that is fair?
Free Speech is no longer free. As I have said since 1980, Free Speech is defined by the leftist as speech that agrees with them 100% of the time. All other speech is forbidden. THAT’S SOCILAISM/COMMUNISM.

I’m certainly not smart enough for the answers. My foundational beliefs are that God can stop this with a genuine revival. I pray He does.
Yusra Khogali is a woman who at one point had, as these things go, a fair amount of gravitas within the Black Lives Matter orbit. According to the Toronto Sun, she’s the co-founder of Black Lives Matter Toronto, the organization’s official chapter in Canada’s largest city. She’s also a poster child for why conservatives don’t necessarily believe the transnational Black Lives Matter organization — as opposed to the lower-cased three-word construct “black lives matter” — is a particularly representative movement.
You may have seen Khogali’s name once or twice in your Twitter feed this week, although not because of any her own tweets. Her account is gone. Same thing with Facebook.
Before then, however, she left quite the trail.
In 2015, she wrote this message, which one popular Twitter user reminded us all of:

That’s James Lindsay, famous as one of the minds behind the “Sokal Squared” grievance studies academic hoax.
This, alas, isn’t a hoax. Nor is the fact that Khogali won a leadership award from the city. What Lindsay gets wrong is that the city was Toronto and that she received the award in 2018, after she wrote this, according to the Toronto Star.
The post got a bit of play in the media a few years back, though, and it’s worth revisiting if just because this is what Black Lives Matter Toronto was willing to countenance.
“[W]hiteness is not humxness,” Khogali wrote in the Facebook missive, which used post-gendered spelling. “[In fact], white skin is sub-humxn. [A]ll phenotypes exist within the black family and white ppl are a genetic defect of blackness.”
I don’t believe I’ll get an answer, but I’m curious — how does that work? Her explication reads like someone just watched her first Louis Farrakhan speech on YouTube and was duly mesmerized: “[W]hite ppl have a higher concentration of enzyme inhibitors that [suppress] melanin production.”

White people are “genetically deficient” because, among other things, “melanin is present at the inception of life … directly linked to the strength of the nervous system … directly linked to the strength of neuro systems affecting capacities like intelligence, memory and creativity.”
It also “enables black skin to capture light and hold it in its memory mode which reveals that blackness converts light” and “directly communicates with cosmic energy.”
“[T]his is why the [indigeneity] of all humxnity comes from our blackness,” Khogali said. “[W]e are the first and strongest of all humxns and our genetics are the foundation of all humxnity.”
“THEREFORE white ppl are recessive genetic defects. [T]his is factual,” she continued. “[W]hite ppl need white supremacy as a mechanism to protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves. [B]lack ppl simply through their dominant genes can literally wipe out the white race if we had the power to.”
“[D]o you ever wonder how black ppl after centuries of colonial violence, genocide and destruction — no matter what systems created to make us extinct … how we keep coming back?” she concluded.
“[I]t is because we are superhumxns.”
This post, unearthed by the Toronto Sun in 2017, was deleted, because of course it was, though it wasn’t the only controversial statement Khogali had made on social media:

That’s not even particularly surprising, given what we know about Khogali. It had also, like the strange post about eugenics, been written before she became a media figure.
In a column for the Toronto Star shortly after that tweet — and the backlash it caused — she said she was reacting to negative tweets.
“During Black History Month, I was bombarded by tweets from white men asking me to prove that racism, Islamophobia and misogyny exist. Why should I have to prove the existence of the forces that torment me and members of my community to people who don’t believe they exist and, worse, who perpetuate them?” she wrote.
“And so two months ago I tweeted, ‘Plz Allah give me strength not to cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today.’ I put my rage and trauma into words, not action, not threat. Faced with hate, I sought restraint from god and support from my online community.”
That tweet got traction, however, after she became visible due to the BLM movement.

“I am not a public official. I am not a police officer. The state does not entrust me with violent weaponry. I have never contributed to the mass targeting of a community. All I have done is used a turn of phrase, a rhetorical flourish, to voice my frustration and dared to be a person calling for justice,” she wrote.
“To date, I have directly received many disturbing death threats from white supremacists across the country. Somehow a tweet I wrote out of anger months before our protest began has become a bigger media story than our protest’s many and profound accomplishments.”
Whatever the “profound accomplishments” of BLM Toronto, Khogali is a public figure and her thoughts on race are, um, illuminating.
This isn’t to say she should be marked by her opinions forever, but it isn’t as if she disowned this stuff when given the opportunity to, either. And that was just for the tweet. Khogali’s strange “superhumxns” talk — which sounds like nothing more than someone who’s skimmed Nietzsche’s philosophy and Farrakhan’s eugenics — is genuinely frightening for someone who would go on to help lead Black Lives Matter Toronto.
And that’s the bigger story here. Khogali is no different from the racist trolls you can find in social media’s dingier corners, should you want to look hard enough. They aren’t oft allowed to remain in any degree of control of a major group like the Black Lives Matter chapter in Canada’s biggest city.
This isn’t your ordinary left-winger. This is someone who, in the not-entirely-distant past, called white people “sub-humxn.”When you don’t consider an entire race human, you can do the math as to where this leads next.
Black Lives Matter Toronto isn’t particularly upfront on their website about who their leadership is, so it’s unclear whether she’s still in a position of power with the organization.
The most recent evidence is an event listing from early March at York University’s Centre for Feminist Studies; in the brief bio section, she’s described as “a black feminist multi-disciplinary educator, writer, performance artist, activist, public intellectual, emcee and grassroots community organizer. She co-founded the Black Lives Matter Toronto movement that has shifted the current political landscape of Canada by actively working to dismantle all forms of anti-Black racism.”
The other kinds of racism she’s all right with, though — and Black Lives Matter Toronto was all right with that, too, apparently.

Christopher Rufo is the Director of Discovery Institute’s Center on Wealth & Poverty and he got his hands on the new diversity training the city of Seattle has mandated for white employees only. Rufo posts that this training may show up in school curriculum and HR diversity training around the country.
This next part is interesting, if you are white and speak too much, you are engaging in oppression. If you speak too little you are still engaging in oppression because “silence” is “violence.”So what is a white person’s salvation? To continually tell themselves that they are racist.
After you continually tell yourself that you are racist, they list a series of things one must give up, notice how they snuck in property ownership, and defunding the police. They specifically note one must give up guaranteed physical safety and “control over the land.”
This is also who they classify as “white” people and some of these groups are going to have a real problem with this.

Left-wing billionaire George Soros is set to double his 2016 election spending in an effort to remove President Donald Trump from the White House, according to public records. The Washington Free Beacon, which was the first outlet to report Soros’s 2020 spending, stated that Soros has poured money “into the coffers of the Democracy PAC, a super PAC that passes money to other liberal PACs working to defeat Trump and congressional Republicans.”
According to public records, the PAC has received $40 million, double the $20 million it received in 2016 throughout the presidential election.
While Democrats across the country sanctimoniously rail against the influence of dark money in politics, their party’s largest donors are bankrolling a massive web of liberal organizations to get them elected. George Soros’s unprecedented spending further highlights just how dependent Democrats are on contributions from billionaires, despite their hypocritical rhetoric.
Directly, Soros has put $5.5 million into his Super PAC. Fund for Policy Reform, a nonprofit in Soros’s Open Society Foundations network that is reported to have in the bank $750 million on its latest tax forms, also gave $35 million. In doing so, Soros’s name is kept from appearing amongst those that give millions to political committees.
Democracy PAC, known for making large donations to far-left candidates, has given more than $25 million to other PACs, including a $7 million to the Senate Majority PAC, which has close ties to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). It also gave $5 million to Priorities USA Action, a large outside PAC which supports Joe Biden, and $2.5 million to the left-wing Win Justice coalition.
Many of the groups that receive money from Soros are top spenders backing massive anti-Trump campaigns. Priorities USA is the biggest outside spender this cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, having spent more than $28 million. Its efforts include anti-Trump advertisements focused on criticizing the president’s response to the coronavirus pandemic in the swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
In addition to his overwhelming PAC donations. Soros has also given $2 million to committees directly without going through his PACs. Those donations include $500,000 to the Democratic Grassroots Victory Fund, a committee to raise funds between the Democratic National Committee, all 50 state Democratic parties, and the D.C. Democratic committee.
Soros has also given thousands to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) victory fund, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Similar to Soros, former presidential hopeful Tom Steyer has also poured into the 2020 election and is ranked among the highest of donors.
President Trump has been an outspoken critic of Obamacare since before he entered office. Once president, he began rolling out reforms that weakened Obamacare’s stranglehold on the medical industry.
One of his reforms was to expand birth control exemptions for any employer who expressed concerns based on religious or moral grounds.
The fight was taken to the Supreme Court. And in a historic 7-2 decision, the court says Trump’s birth control exemption is lawful:

Justice Clarence Thomas, writing for the majority on Wednesday, said the move by federal agencies under President Trump to expand the carve-outs was lawful.
During the Obama administration, religious nonprofits were the only groups that could claim and exemption from paying for contraceptive coverage. Any other business, regardless of the employers’ religious or moral leanings, was forced to pay for birth control.
According to the Trump administration, this violated the employer’s religious rights. Additionally, he expanded the exemptions so that businesses of all kinds can refuse to pay for employee’s birth control if it conflicted with their beliefs.
Naturally, progressive activists challenged the order, taking it all the way to the Supreme Court. Justice Thomas wrote that employers with “religious and conscientious objections” to birth control should be exempt from this rule.
In a surprise ruling, two of the court’s liberal justices, Elena Kagan and Stephen Breyer sided with the conservative wing, giving them the 7-2 decision.
Critics of Obamacare frequently questioned the need for employers to pay for a person’s birth control. If it’s “their body, their choice” they argued, why was it someone else’s responsibility to provide contraceptive?
Such concerns were overlooked by the Obama administration, which conservatives accused of trying to push birth control against religious people’s objections.
This ruling strikes a huge blow against Obamacare and moves the U.S. closer to a possible revoke.

Fascinating news from The New York Times this week! Reviewing its op-ed titled“I’m a Direct Descendant of Thomas Jefferson. Take Down His Memorial,”I gather we now weigh Americans’ opinions based on who their ancestors are.
I’m not sure that’s a good idea, but the rules are the rules. Otherwise, why would the Times consider it so important to publish Lucian Truscott, a great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Jefferson, at all?
Blut uber alles!
Obviously, we’re going to need a list of Whose Opinion Matters. Here’s my first stab at it:
Descendants of John Adams will have their views count the most. Adams was a giant of the Revolution, our second president, and never owned slaves.
Descendants of George Washington will come next. Some will bicker with this, inasmuch as he is the father of our country, but based on our new standards, he gets demerits for owning slaves — though, unlike Jefferson, at least he freed them on his death. (This is a freebie: Washington’s only child was the United States of America.)
Someone else can fill in the middle range in the Whose Opinion Matters ranking — this is taking a while.
Toward the bottom of the list will be descendants of slave traders, then of slave owners, and below that, descendants of slave owners who pretend to be embarrassed about that fact, but are just bragging, like Truscott.

Next in the Eminence Ranking will be immigrants (themselves often descendants of slave owners, murderers and rapists). In fact, immigrants may as well not say anything. Their opinions will amount to only about one one-trillionth of a foundational American’s.
Dead last are the blood relations of traitors and anarchists, such as the grandchildren of the hundreds of Soviet spies infiltrating our government during the Cold War, especially any heirs of Alger Hiss, the Weathermen and their children. That wipes out half of our college professors.
I’m surprised at the Times adopting a blood test, but you can’t go around publishing some blowhard demanding we take down a monument based on his ancestry and then drop the ancestry advantage for everyone else.
Speaking as the direct descendant of 13 patriots of the American Revolution, a few Union Soldiers and several strict Presbyterian abolitionists, it’s obvious that my opinion carries vastly more weight than the blood relation of a slave owner, like Truscott.
With full knowledge of the responsibility that comes with that, I say we keep the Jefferson Memorial.
Obviously, I don’t need any reasons beyond the fact that my ancestors are better than Truscott’s. But if you’d care to hear my arguments, they are that Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence; he was our third president; he went to war with the Barbary pirates, who kidnapped more than a million Europeans and forced them into slavery; the monument is a work of art; and — most important — removing the Jefferson Memorial would deprive me of a reason to write periodic columns saying …
… Thomas Jefferson fathered none of Sally Hemings’ children.

We know from the DNA that Jefferson couldn’t have fathered Hemings’ firstborn, Tom. Only her lastborn son, Eston, had the DNA from some Jefferson male, of which there were at least a half-dozen living at or near Monticello when Eston was conceived.
So it all comes down to Eston. There is zero evidence that Jefferson fathered him and boatloads of evidence that he didn’t.
1) Five years before Eston was born, a muckraking journalist, James Callender, furious with Jefferson for not making him a postmaster, started the rumor the president had fathered Hemings’ son Tom, which, again, the DNA proves he did not. So the theory is: Five years after being falsely accused of fathering children with Hemings, Jefferson went out and fathered a child with Hemings.
2) Eston was born in 1808, when Thomas Jefferson was 64 years old and in his second term as president. His brother Randolph was 52, recently widowed and unmarried. After Randolph remarried, Hemings had no more children.
3) Randolph’s five sons, aged 17 to 24, were also frequent visitors to Monticello when Eston was conceived.
4) While Jefferson was entertaining diplomats in the main house, Randolph would typically retire to the slave quarters for the evening. One slave, Isaac Granger Jefferson, described Randolph in his dictated memoirs thus: “Old Master’s brother, Mass Randall, was a mighty simple man: used to come out among black people, play the fiddle and dance half the night.”
5) There is not a single account of Thomas Jefferson visiting the slave quarters.
6) Nor did Jefferson take any interest in Hemings’ children. Randolph did, teaching all of Hemings’ sons to play the fiddle.
7) None of the private correspondence from anyone living at Monticello credited the rumor about Jefferson and Hemings — but several pointed to Randolph.
8) In private letters, Jefferson denied Callender’s claim, while admitting to a sexual indiscretion that would have been more shameful at the time: his seduction of a friend’s wife.
9) Jefferson’s private papers reveal his extremely negative views of miscegenation in terms so brutal they will not be repeated here. Suffice it to say that the idea of his fathering a child with Hemings is inconceivable.
10) Jefferson did not free Hemings in his will, despite freeing several other slaves.
11) The claim that Jefferson fathered Hemings’ children originated in the brains of feminists. At first, historians strenuously objected, but eventually decided the better part of valor was to cower under their desks and pray no one accused them of “racism.”
To every cloud there is a silver lining, and the one to the Times’ Ancestry Test for Political Relevance is that we’ll never again have to hear from a professor or student at Yale, a school whose namesake — currently, right now, in 2020 — is Elihu Yale, slave trader.

The Supreme Court issued a ruling today upholding a pro-life order from President Donald Trump that protected the Little Sisters of the Poor from being force to pay for abortion-causing drugs under their health insurance plan.
The U.S. Supreme Court handed down another victory for religious freedom Wednesday when it ruled that the government should not interfere in religious school decisions about who teaches their religion classes.
The Trump Administration has taken the first steps to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), which has been plagued by corruption, dishonesty, and mistakes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abortion activists renewed their push Tuesday to pass a radical pro-abortion bill in Massachusetts that would legalize abortions through all nine months of pregnancy.

It’s the question every American should be asking heading into November, but Tucker Carlson said it out loud. It wasn’t polite. It wasn’t politically correct. But it’s an answer every voter should know before casting a ballot on Election Day: How can Americans trust liberals to lead the country when they’ve spent the past months proving how much they loathe it?

In his monologue Monday night, the Fox News host, who has had his own share of run-ins with the violent left, used liberals’ own words and actions to back up his point, and contrasted them with President Donald Trump’s speech Friday at Mount Rushmore to drive it home.
Besides delivering a paean to the greatness of American history and the figures who created it — white and black, male and female — Trump slammed the Black Lives Matter riots that have taken place across the country. The anarchy under the guise of what the mainstream media blithely refer to as “mostly peaceful protests”has the ostensible aim of targeting alleged “systemic racism”— but the real target is the United States as a whole.

“Make no mistake, this left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution,” the president said.
“In so doing, they would destroy the very civilization that rescued billions from poverty, disease, violence and hunger, and that lifted humanity to new heights of achievement, discovery and progress.
“To make this possible, they are determined to tear down every statue, symbol and memory of our national heritage.”
And for Carlson, those words said it all.
“Trump is the most dangerous to his enemies when he tells the truth,” the Fox News host said. “In fact, they’re his enemies precisely because sometimes he does tell the truth and he did the other day.”

Check out his full monologue here. It’s about 13 minutes long, but for anyone who missed it Monday night, it’s well worth the time. It contained Carlson’s own paean to the country, reminders of exactly why the United States is the place countless millions born elsewhere want to live.
About the 10:30 mark, Carlson zeroed in on Joe Biden, the man who spent 36 years in the U.S. Senate before going on to another eight years as vice president. Biden should be overflowing with gratitude for the country that has given him and his family a life in politics probably far better than he could ever have earned in the honest world.
And what did the man who’s sewn up the Democratic nomination for president offer in a speech supposedly celebrating this great nation’s birthday?
“A full-throated attack on the United States,” Carlson said.
Then he played a clip of Biden’s Independence Day message.
“Our country was founded on an idea, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created.’ We never lived up to it,” the Democrat said.
“Jefferson himself didn’t. He held slaves. Women were excluded.
“American history is no fairy tale. It’s been a constant push and pull between two parts of our character. The idea that all men and women and all people are created equal, and the racism that has torn us apart. …
“We have a chance to rip the roots of systemic racism out of this country.”

If it weren’t so laughable, it would be enraging.
Joe Biden is talking about a chance to rip up the “roots of systemic racism”in this country”? This is a man who’s spent his entire life in American government.
Biden spent the early parts of his career kissing up to the arch-segregationists who were the power of his party for so long, and now he’s spending the last years of it sucking up to the new segregationists of the Black Lives Matter movement. If there were systemic racism to be ripped up, Biden had a lifetime to work on it. In the vice president’s office, he had eight years working with the country’s first black president — so it really should have come up, if it were present.
But it wasn’t and it’s not. It’s another liberal lie that’s being used as a weapon to undermine the country at its foundations — exactly what could be expected from a group that has moved from political opposition to one doing its damndest to teach Americans to hate themselves.
Joe Biden and the modern Democratic Party that’s trying to install him in the White House can talk all they want about how much they “love” this country, but their deeds show the exact opposite. And Tucker Carlson called it out.
“It’s long been considered out-of-bounds to question a person’s patriotism. It’s a very strong charge, and we try not ever to make it,” Carlson said.
“But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can’t be avoided — these people actually hate America. There’s no longer a question about that. And yet paradoxically, at the same time, they desperately want to control America more than anything.”
Those are strong words, but the behavior of the Democratic Party and its supporters merit them. There was a time when this all could have been chalked up to fanatical opposition to the administration.
The lies of Rep. Adam Schiff that led up to the ludicrous impeachment trial, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Maleficient-level treatment of Trump, the endless propaganda of the mainstream media, was all rough stuff, but it was politics, and politics is no game of beanbag.
What the country has witnessed over the past month has been something different, and far more malevolent. It’s the difference between “opposition” and “resistance.” The Democratic Party chose the latter at the beginning of the Trump presidency, and the country is now seeing the fruits of that decision.
The fact is, the indefensible death of a man in police custody in Minneapolis has been used to unleash the worst, basest instincts of a sizable group of Americans twisted by their own ignorance into despising the country they should love. The Democratic Party has chosen them as a vessel to return to power in the White House and in doing so has betrayed its own apparent loathing for America itself — an imperfect country they will never forgive for its imperfections.
There are still months to go before Election Day, and it’s entirely possible there will be an epiphany of some kind on the Democratic side that puts a stop to the party’s descent into nihilism. (Contrary to all evidence, there are still millions of decent men and women misguided enough to identify as Democrats. You might even know a few.)
But it’s still a question every American voter needs to ask and answer before casting a ballot in November:
How can Americans trust liberals to lead the country when they’re bent on proving to the country and each other how much they loathe it?

Black Lives Matter activists in Troy, New York have declared that Grace Baptist Church Pastor, Rev. John Koletas is an alt-right extremist and stormed his church on Sunday in protest.
Koletas denounced the officer that killed, has been charged with, the murder of George Floyd however, has also been critical of rioters claiming the violence is caused by “a bunch of savages who have let their sins run rampant.”
Video shows that protestors stormed the church and chanted “Black Lives Matter” in the sanctuary. As they left they surrounded the outside of the church and began to create scuffles with parishioners trying to keep them out. Police did respond, there were no reported arrests.

The attack on the church comes just a couple of weeks after BLM activist Sean King called for images of white Jesus to be destroyed.
According to a local New York paper the Times Union, the pastor is considered alt-right because he spoke against those that engaged in violent riots, was having a gun giveaway, and made the churches motto “Where the Spirit of the Lord lives, there is liberty.”
President Trump made a major promise during his 2016 campaign to end corruption within the government, or to “drain the swamp.” It’s become so common for government officials to bend the law to benefit themselves, it almost seemed as if Americans were okay with it.
But since Trump took over the presidency—and appointed tough prosecutors and investigators within the DOJ—things began to happen. Over the last few years, we’ve learned about how the FBI has arrested leaders in state and local governments for various crimes (see the former mayor of Baltimore).
Now, we are learning about yet another major sting, involving 1/3 of the leadership of a major U.S. city:
The FBI on Tuesday arrested a local attorney and four members of the city council in Toledo, Ohio, for their alleged participation in a bribery and extortion scheme…
“As alleged in the Complaint, four Toledo City Council members and a local attorney have been engaged in a pay-to-play scheme involving bribes for Council votes,” U.S. Attorney Justin Herdman said in a statement to Fox News Wednesday. “Maintaining the public’s trust in its elected officials is one of the Department of Justice’s core responsibilities.”
According to the charges, four members of Toledo’s city council, along with a local attorney, were given benefits in exchange for votes. The FBI is saying they accepted cash, checks, and other items of value from local business owners. All so they could influence these leaders’ votes.
It appears all too often politicians trade their influence to get rich quick. The temptation to abuse their power for monetary gain seems too great to resist. This happens so often on the local level, with repercussions felt across communities.
Citizens of Toledo should ask how many recent laws were passed because businesses were allegedly bribing these council members. One-third of the council is enough to sway close votes. Major legislation, which could have affected the lives of residents, might have been impacted because of this “pay-to-play” scheme.
Yet another question must be raised, in light of this news: how many more city council members, across the entire country, are engaged in similar schemes? If leaders from this Ohio town are doing it, what about leaders in larger cities like San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and more?
Such a development is a reminder to all Americans that our democracy must be defended and that only leaders who promise to protect law and order just be elected.

A pro-life organization in Kansas has issued an endorsement for President Donald Trump, saying he has done more to protect babies from abortion than any president in the history of the nation.
A pro-life billboard in New Zealand has some Black Lives Matter activists upset because it uses the phrase “Both Lives Matter” in reference to a mother and her unborn baby.
House Democrats are trying to undo President Donald Trump’s pro-life progress by restoring taxpayer funding to Planned Parenthood and other international abortion groups.
A Catholic cardinal in South Africa slammed the Black Lives Matter organization recently for supporting the abortion industry and its mass destruction of unborn black lives.
As was reported earlier — there was a triple shooting in Atlanta Sunday that killed one person that took place at the same location as the deadly shooting of an 8-year-old black girl by Black Lives Matter protesters Saturday night. The area of the shootings is near the Wendy’s where Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed by police last month as he attacked and fled officers.
Since Brooks’ death, protesters torched the Wendy’s and set up armed checkpoints in the area. The 8-year-old girl was killed when the car she was in with her mother came upon a group of armed protesters blocking the road at the Wendy’s. Atlanta police cleared the barriers almost two weeks ago after letting them stand for over a week, but apparently the armed protesters were still blocking roads.

The mother lashed out at the armed mob after she lost her daughter.
On Sunday Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms finally told far left protesters to disperse after the 8-year-old girl was murdered.

The protests have gone on for several weeks now since Rayshard Brooks was shot and killed by police.

“This discussion, this mediation, and … it’s over. At a point where an 8-year-old baby is killed, the discussions have ended.”
Atlanta saw a night of violence on Independence Day this year, and multiple other shootings are being investigated by police.
A group of 60-100 rioters vandalized the Georgia Department of Public Safety Headquarters on United Avenue, causing damage to the windows, spray painting the building, and starting a small fire, according to a CBS 46 report.

The single most important issue, affecting some of the largest swaths of populations in America, is the scandal the media ignores even as it explodes in our faces.
In only six weeks, city after city operated by entrenched Democrats have seen a massive expansion in lawlessness, violence, and murder. Stunningly, many news outlets seem gobsmacked and mystified at how or why such an explosion of lawlessness has occurred.
The crime in these six Democrat-led cities has exploded this year: New York, Chicago, LA, Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia. McCullough concludes:

If you’re Joe Biden and you’re going to argue President Donald Trump hasn’t helped small businesses, and you’re going to do this in a campaign advertisement that highlights the owner of a small business, it helps if your people choose a small business that didn’t receive help from the federal government headed by Donald Trump.
If you have to pick someone who got assistance from a program signed into law by the president, it also helps to pick an individual who kept this information private. If conservatives discovered this information a month or two down the line, long after the message conveyed by the advertisement was absorbed into the body politic, the effect of the discovery is near zero. If you can find the information out via a quick Google search, well, that’s problematic.
I think this would go without saying, but apparently this reminder wasn’t relayed to the crack team currently being employed by the former vice president. His new ad features the owner of an eyewear shop in Philadelphia who got a forgivable Paycheck Protection Program loan.
Not only that, she gave an interview about it to BillyPenn, a Philadelphia-area news outlet, thus leaving a short trail of breadcrumbs for anyone willing to put in five minutes to discover it for themselves.

“Small businesses are the backbone of communities across our nation, and we need to do so much more to help them,” read the copy on Joe Biden’s official Twitter account. “Donald Trump may have forgotten about them — but I never will.”
In the ad, owner Tiffany Easley — who wears a mask in what looks like an empty shop, showily proving an empty point — talks about her business woes at NV My Eyewear in Philadelphia.
“I always wanted to build something from the ground up. I saved, put in the hours, and put off vacations,” Easley says in the video.
“I opened NV My Eyewear three and a half years ago, and just as we were adding locations and employees, this pandemic brought everything to a halt. I had to permanently close one location and furlough my employees, and it’s my staff. They’re my family. It’s just heartbreaking.
“But what’s worse is that this president seemed to make everything else worse. Donald Trump and his administration left the American people behind,” she continued.

“The people that he is supposed to protect and serve. Small businesses, they need a partner in the White House, and that’s why I’m with Joe. I know he’ll help small businesses like mine get back on our feet. I spent my life building this business from the ground up. I want a president that’s going to build this country back better than before.”
The advantage of the video is that, save from the anecdotal evidence and information already known to every viewer, the ad is entirely fact-free. It doesn’t mention what Trump could have done better or how Biden will do so. Simply put, the ad’s fuzzy argument goes, Biden’s better, vote him.
Thus, the fact that the ad never mentions that Easley benefited a good deal from a bill signed by Trump doesn’t necessarily make it false, just wildly misleading:

In an April interview with BillyPenn, Easley said she’d “lost at least 95% of my revenue for March, and I guess it’s gonna be the same thing for April.”
However, she was able to stay in business thanks to the PPP, one of President Trump’s signature COVID-19 relief packages.
“The reason she’s able to be optimistic about the future? For one, Easley is a woman of faith, she said. Also, she was able to score emergency financial relief from two different sources,” BillyPenn reported.
“NV My Eyewear is one of the businesses that got a payout from the first phase of the federal Paycheck Protection Program. Easley was awarded a loan of $27,000, which will be forgiven if she uses it to rehire staff, as she’s planning to do.”
The other aid came in the form of a $5,000 grant from a Philadelphia COVID-19 relief fund.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, the Trump campaign has called the ad “dishonest.” The Biden campaign and Easley didn’t respond to requests for comment, the Free Beacon reported.
One muffed ad doesn’t a spoilt message make, although the case of NV My Eyewear speaks to a larger issue in Biden’s messaging that presented itself when, in the early days of response to the novel coronavirus, he was asked what he would have done differently from the president.
The suite of changes he originally presented were materially identical to what Trump had done. Oh, but he’d have gone further. How? Don’t ask for details, because that’s not Biden’s forte. That this isn’t remembered more acidly is proof of the kinds of the passes a mediocre establishment Democrat will receive both from his own party and the media.
Biden’s small business proposals, such as they are, are likely to get the same kid-gloves treatment.
What’s his messaging here — that he wasn’t president when the coronavirus hit? That he would have given out more money in PPP money? He would have spent more money than the trillions that had already been spent?
The ad makes none of that clear.
Biden has called for student loan forgiveness, according to Forbes, and a stimulus package “a hell of a lot bigger” than the $2 trillion in the CARES Act, according to Politico.
These would have to be paid for, at least in part, through tax increases.
Those words aren’t featured in the ad, and for good reason: If you want one weird trick to get voters to recoil from Biden just as COVID-19 lockdowns have led to record unemployment, it’s telling them they need to pay more taxes.
Another weird trick to get investors spooked: Tell them that the American people will have less money to spend as we attempt the greatest economic turnaround in history.
Interestingly, Easley has appeared in one other interview recently. In a June 15 Philadelphia Inquirer story, she talked about the looting and rioting going on in a business corridor that served the black community in Philadelphia. Easley told the newspaper residents in the neighborhood discouraged rioters from destroying NV My Eyewear as they had with so many other small businesses on historic 52nd Street in the City of Brotherly Love.
“I probably would have been devastated if my business was one of the properties,”she said. “I thank God that people remember me.”
If only there were a political party that believed in standing up against the rioters instead of saying that it was just property damage and it was time to defund our police.
If only there were a president who wanted to restore law and order so business owners like Easley’s wouldn’t have to worry about savage mobs destroying their livelihood.

One of the “teachable moments” from this COVID-19 issue comes from the fact that we have many in America who do not comprehend, nor understand, civics. There is so much confusion with people who believe that an elected official can unilaterally issue mandates, decrees, edicts, and orders and that it constitutes law. So many do not realize that America is a Constitutional Republic. That means we abide by our rule of law, the US Constitution, and individual rights, freedoms, and liberties are sovereign over the institution of government.
Government exists by the “consent of the governed” in America and we are to be governed, not ruled, by our duly elected representatives.
Laws are passed by a legislature, lawmakers. Laws are enforced by the executive branch. Laws are interpreted to ensure accordance with our constitution by the judicial branch, judges. None of this has anything to do with ideological agendas, but since we do not study our own founding documents — dismissed as the rantings of old white men –, we are set adrift on a tumultuous sea. Thus, we can even have someone running to be our chief executive, president, who asserts, “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America,”and have people cheer wildly. Vladimir Lenin would refer to them as “useful idiots.”
When you allow yourself to become a useful idiot, or worse, a mindless lemming, others can usurp your unalienable rights, manipulate you, and subjugate you. Let’s be honest, that is what progressive socialism is all about. One supporting branch of progressive socialism is secular humanism, and we have it on full display in this COVID-19 situation.
Simply explained, our rights come from a sovereign Creator God, of the Judeo-Christian faith heritage. These rights include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That is the theory of the classical liberal political philosopher, John Locke. He called it the “Natural Rights” theory. Since the individual is endowed with their unalienable rights from a sovereign Creator God, then the individual is sovereign, but not to secular humanists and progressive socialists, who believe their ideological agenda defines your rights.
The belief in individual rights is a precious jewel we hold dear in America. And that is why our constitution was not ratified until it contained an individual Bill of Rights, our first ten amendments, to the Constitution — our rule of law.
The very first right, freedom, in our Bill of Rights is freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof. We do not have a state religion. We do not have a head of state who could be the head of church. Thomas Jefferson articulated that concern in a letter to the Danbury (CT) Baptist Convention. Separation of Church and State does not mean separating the individual from their Judeo-Christian faith heritage. The concept, which is not a law, was meant to ensure that, as had happened in England with King Henry VIIIth, the state, or a ruler, could not institute a policy of religious persecution, and prosecution. King Henry created the Church of England based upon his ideological, personal, agenda of seeking a divorce. Today, in America, leftists are doing exactly the same: making their agenda their religion, and persecuting any and all who do not bow down.
Our first liberty is religious liberty, but not to leftists. As reported in Christian News:
“Churches and other houses of worship will be among the last things to reopen in New York state, along with concert halls and stadiums. Religious institutions will be part of phase four of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s four-phase reopening plan. That’s because they invite large gatherings, which are a big concern as health officials try to minimize the spread of Covid-19. The earliest they could reopen, then, would be June 26. During a briefing in Buffalo Monday, New York Budget Director Robert Mujica said the state is still considering whether to permit small gatherings at houses of worship. But large, regular services will be among the last types of gatherings to reopen.”
As I stated, our first liberty is our religious liberty, and no elected official has the enumerated power to undermine that right. Elected officials should issue guidelines for churches to follow, but they do not have any right to close any church. Actually, I find it funny that we have folks still in Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, Lowes, but not churches? Who came up with this idea that our first liberty, religious liberty, was not “essential?” I have never read in our constitution anything about the “freedom to buy liquor,” yet liquor stores were deemed “essential.”
Please, do not give me the drivel about large gatherings of people. There is another individual right enshrined in our constitution called the right to peaceably assemble. But consider this, in Kentucky, the Democrat governor there ordered that even cars driving through on Easter Sunday for communion would have their license plates recorded…that’s really spooky!
Add to this the abjectly “stuck on stupid” punitive restrictions in place by Illinois Governor Pritzker, as reported byFox News:
“Chicago has begun fining churches for holding services that do not comply with the Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s statewide stay-at-home order, with the Chicago Police Department telling Fox News that three churches will be hit with penalties for services held on Sunday, May 17.”
Governor Pritzker has publicly stated that churches may have to wait 1-3 years before they can open. Something tells me that the Chicago Cubs will be playing baseball later this year.
In Oregon, the progressive socialist Governor there has teamed up with the State Supreme Courtto block churches from opening.
“The Oregon Supreme Court granted an emergency motion Monday evening putting on hold a lower court’s injunction earlier in the day granting churches statewide preliminary relief to Gov. Kate Brown’s restrictions on mass gatherings and in-person worship. Oregon Supreme Court Presiding Justice Thomas Balmer granted the motion per the request of Brown and other unnamed defendants hours after Baker County Circuit Judge Matthew Shirtcliff ruled in favor of the plaintiffs.
Balmer explained that the plaintiffs, which included 10 churches and ministries throughout the state led by Elkhorn Baptist Church of Baker City, had until Friday to submit responses to the defendants’ petition.
“Following swift action by the Oregon Supreme Court, my emergency orders to protect the health and safety of Oregonians will remain in effect statewide while the court hears arguments in this lawsuit,” Brown said in a statement. ”From the beginning of this crisis, I have worked within my authority, using science and data as my guide, heeding the advice of medical experts.”
Funny, Oregon Governor Kate Brown states that she has worked within her authority, using science and data? Needless to say, she has not read the Constitution, as she violates the very First Liberty, religious liberty, of Oregonians.
Even when Christian churches seek to act within guidelines, it is to no avail. Back to what is happening in New York:
“The Central Bible Baptist Church in New York, which had to discontinue its drive-in worship services after being threatened by the Massena Police Department that a fine of up to $1,000 would be imposed, on Friday challenged the claim that drive-in services violate Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s COVID-19 Executive Orders.
“You are mistaken in your assertion that church ‘drive-in’ worship services are prohibited under New York’s current emergency orders and could result in fines,” wrote The Rutherford Institute, a national, nonprofit civil liberties organization, to Police Chief Adam J. Love on Friday on behalf of the church.
The Chief of Police warned Pastor Samson Ryman, who held drive-in worship services on May 3 with 23 worshipers in 18 vehicles, that his church violated the law and he could be subject to prosecution for holding the drive-in services and would face a fine of up to $1,000.
“Although federal and state governments have adopted specific restrictive measures in an effort to decelerate the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the current public health situation has not resulted in the suspension of fundamental constitutional rights such as religious freedom, freedom of speech and the right of assembly,” the letter said. Police “threats … are grounded in a misunderstanding of the law and a misapplication of the Governor’s Executive Orders, which severely chills their exercise of the fundamental right to practice their religion,” it added.”
This is not about “the public good.” This is all about despots, tyrants, seeking to “restructure things to fit our vision” — the words of Democrat Congressman James Clyburn.
Sadly, some churches are facing backlash for practicing their constitutional right to assemble and worship. FromFox News:
“A Mississippi church in the midst of a legal battle to stay open despite local shutdown orders was burned to the ground early Wednesday morning. According to first responders, the First Pentecostal Church of Holly Springs was vandalized and suffered a large explosion to the back of the church. The incident is being investigated as a criminal act of arson.
“I Bet you stay home now you hypokrits,” [sic] read one message spray painted on the church parking lot, Thomas More Society senior counsel and lawyer for the church Stephen Crampton told Fox News on Thursday.”
I am reporting on all of these stories to say wake up, folks! Arise, pastors, men, and women of God, as this is the opening salvo. Don’t tell me about being able to go online and have church.

Sheriff Darryl Daniels of Clay County, Florida, released a 3-minute video Tuesday declaring he will deputize the county’s gun owners if protesters decide to visit the jurisdiction southwest of Jacksonville and turn into rioters.
As he stood with 18 deputies behind him, Daniels declared, “Don’t fall victim to subjecting yourself to this conversation that law enforcement is bad, that law enforcement is the enemy of the citizens that we’re sworn to protect and serve.
“We swore an oath, and in that oath, we swore to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the government, and that we’re duly qualified under the state’s Constitution to hold office. That is for me as a sheriff and these men and women as deputy sheriffs. And we end that with, ‘So help me God.’
“But God is absent from the media’s message or Black Lives Matter or any other group out there that’s making themselves a spectacle disrupting what we know to be our quality of life in this country.”
Daniels, Clay County’s first black sheriff, spoke about the breakdown of law-and-order occurring in many parts of the country in recent weeks.

“Lawlessness, that’s unacceptable in this country. Lawlessness, that’s unacceptable in Clay County,” he said. “And if you threaten to come to Clay County and think for one second that we’ll bend our backs for you, you’re sadly mistaken. …
“Tearing up Clay County, that’s not going to be acceptable. And if we can’t handle you, you know what I’ll do? I will exercise the power and authority of the sheriff and I’ll make special deputies of every lawful gun owner in this county. And I’ll deputize them for this one purpose: to stand in the gap between lawlessness and civility.
“That’s what we’re sworn to do, and that’s what we’re going to do. You’ve been warned.”
Daniels is himself under investigation over allegations that an affair with a fellow officer led to her wrongful arrest. Since he is battling a scandal in the midst of a tough re-election campaign, this video could be Daniels’ attempt to win over voters by appealing to the need for law-and-order and the right to bear arms. If so, the sheriff is correctly “reading the room,” as they say. Over the past few months, gun sales have surged across the United States.
“During the last week of May, firearm sales were up 78% over 2019, according to an analysis by the small business software firm Womply,”USA Today reported last month.
Right now, Americans can feel grateful for our Second Amendment rights. In some chaotic areas, they are the one thing standing between us and the violent left-wing mob.
Daniels acknowledged the protesters’ rights during his speech.
“Yes, we’ll protect your constitutional rights as long as you remain under the umbrella of peaceful protest or peaceful march. But the second that you step out from up under the protection of the Constitution, we’ll be waiting on you and we’ll give you everything you want,” he said.

Daniels is not the first sheriff to suggest deputizing law-abiding gun owners in his county. Last year, Scott Jenkins, the sheriff of Culpeper County, Virginia, vowed to deputize thousands in his county if the state’s Democratic leaders passed extreme gun control measures. His county’s Board of Supervisors had unanimously agreed to declare the county a Second Amendment Constitutional County.
Law-abiding Americans have been viciously attacked during the violence sweeping the country. More and more of them could very well be open to being deputized so they can help protect their communities.
The Clay County sheriff may be facing an investigation, but his video message is on point.

Trump Calls For Round 2 Of Stimulus Checks – Unlike The Democrats, He Wants Them To Be Larger Than $1,200

When numerous states shut down their economies, President Trump supported several rounds of relief checks sent out to Americans. The goal was to provide a cushion for people who were struggling, thanks to government overreach. With states still lagging in their reopening efforts, many Americans have yet to return to work.
So, the president wants to provide more economic relief. This time, however, he wants to provide more money than the Democrats:

“I support actually larger numbers than the Democrats, but it’s got to be done properly,” Trump said. “I want the money getting to people to be larger so they can spend it. I want the money to get there quickly and in a noncomplicated fashion.”
Our Take:
President Trump supported the sending of trillions of dollars to American citizens, as well as the creation of a loan program to keep businesses afloat. All to prevent a total breakdown of the economy, thanks to mandatory lockdowns imposed by cities and states.
This time, it appears the administration is looking to provide an injection of cash to accelerate the reopenings. As businesses, including hotels and airlines, reopen, they’ll need consumers fast. Perhaps Trump is hoping a new round of checks would encourage Americans to take vacations, boosting the hard-hit travel industry.
The president focused on this next relief package to be quick and “noncomplicated.” Previous efforts to pass relief were hampered by Democrats—who tried to inject a variety of far-left funding into the bills. Nancy Pelosi even stalled on one bill, leading to the loan program to temporarily run out of money.
Trump says he wants it done “properly,” which might suggest sending checks only to those in real need. While many have been put out of work, it’s hard to say if all Americans need relief payments. In addition, many complained when large companies (and universities) took money from the loan program meant for small businesses.

Lauren Boebert, whose forthright defense of the Second Amendment at a rally for former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke brought her national attention, on Tuesday won a Republican congressional primary in Colorado.
President Donald Trump retweeted a post from Boebert in which she said, “I am a mother to 4 boys. My husband and I are raising them to be strong men! I refuse to send my children into a socialist nation. Their freedom IS my motivator! Threaten the liberty of Americans, and I’ll be there to hold you accountable!”
“Congratulations on a really great win!” Trump said.

The president had earlier tweeted support for incumbent Republican Rep. Scott Tipton, who drew 45 percent of the vote compared with 55 percent for the challenger.
Boebert — who operates Shooters Grill, a restaurant in Rifle, Colorado, where all of the waitresses openly carry handguns — will face Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush in the November election.

“I’m excited and eager to take this fight on to the Democrats and represent the people of the 3rd Congressional District, just like I’ve been promising them I would,” Boebert said after the polls closed, according to The Denver Post.
Her website is an unapologetic, in-your-face declaration of opposition to all that leftist Democrats stand for.
“There is a battle for the heart and soul of our country that I intend on helping win,” Boebert says on the website. “I’m running for Congress to stand up for our conservative values, address our current representatives’ failed promises, and put far-left Democrats back in their place.”

“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Squad and the rest of these left-wing lunatics are taking a wrecking ball to our country while our current representative stays utterly silent,” she says. “Hard-working, patriotic Americans like you and me don’t want the Green New Deal and socialized medicine. Every time AOC and the rest of the Squad pipes up with another crazy idea, I will remind them that our belief in God, Country and Family are what built the United States of America into the greatest nation the world has ever known.”
Boebert also has taken a strong pro-police stand at a time when law enforcement is under attack across the country.
She crashed an O’Rourke rally last fall to take the former Texas congressman to task for saying he would take away Americans’ AR-15s if elected.

Boebert was wearing her Glock handgun as she confronted the Democratic candidate.
“I was one of the gun-owning Americans that heard your speech and heard what you had to say, regarding, ‘Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15s and your AK-47s.’ Well, I am here to say, hell no, you’re not,” she said as O’Rourke urged the crowd scolding her to allow her to speak.
Boebert said the only way citizens have to protect themselves against the evil of the world is to be ready to defend themselves.
“I would like to know how you intend to legislate evil. Because it is not the gun, it is the heart of the man that does that,” she said.
Boebert said gun confiscation would strip protection from“American citizens like myself, American mothers — I have four children, I am 5-feet-0, 100 pounds, cannot really defend myself with a fist.”

Neither the conservative media nor elected Republicans gave a crap about the left-wing paramilitary force that’s been mobilizing since Trump’s election.
Through it all, conservatives stuck their heads in the sand and rationalized insane liberal violence. It was the path of least resistance — and also a smart business move. Cowards could pitch themselves as the “reasonable” ones, then sit back and watch as their more popular conservative competitors were deplatformed, shadow-banned and outright canceled.
Over and over again, conservatives made excuses for doing nothing. They told themselves:
It’s only Milo — he’s shocking, not the kind of nuanced conservative thinker I am.
It’s only Gavin McInnes and his “Proud Boys” — he’s funny, whereas I am aggressively humorless, so I’m safe.
It’s only Heather MacDonald and Charles Murray — they write about crime rates and I.Q. I steer well clear of any topic that might trigger liberals!
And thus were the most interesting and popular personalities on the right scrubbed from the public square by violent, low-I.Q. criminals. How tiny is the circle of speech and behavior you’ve permitted yourselves, conservatives?
Now, hordes of these cretins have taken control of the streets, and the only pushback is the president cowering in the White House, tweeting “LAW & ORDER!” Yes, Churchill retreated to a basement, too — in Whitehall, where he planned a war that saved the world. He didn’t tweet out “HITLER! BAD!”
For 3 1/2 years, antifa was never punished for anything it did. To the contrary, they were praised. Private citizens who fought back were defamed as “white supremacists” and imprisoned.
Hundreds of masked antifa traveled interstate to riot at Trump’s inauguration, breaking windows, assaulting Trump supporters, burning stretch limousines and smashing the windows of SUVs — including Larry King’s! As a result, more than 200 of the rioters were placed under “arrest,” (a police technique in use at the time). Prosecutors had mounds of evidence, including video, undercover agents and law enforcement witnesses.
But D.C. judges Lynn Leibovitz and Robert E. Morin made sure almost all charges were dropped. Only one rioter, facing 70 years for felony rioting and assault on a cop, served any time in prison. Judge Leibovitz suspended all but four months of his sentence.
No congressional push to impeach the antifa-friendly judges, no separate federal prosecutions of the out-of-state rioters, no segments about this outrage on Fox News.
When Yiannopoulos was to speak at Berkeley in February 2017, 1,500 protesters, including more than 100 antifa, set fires, smashed windows and threw rocks. In reaction to this, Berkeley punished Milo and canceled the speech. (Not to brag, but 2,000 antifa tried to shut down my Berkeley speech last fall but it went off without a hitch! This was mostly thanks to the Bay Area Proud Boys. Hahaha, antifa!)
There was only one arrest. Soon, Milo was completely deplatformed and disinvited by the toothless, collaborationist CPAC.
President Trump responded to the Berkeley riots by sending in the National Guard to protect free speech at a public university. JUST KIDDING! He tweeted: “If U.C. Berkeley does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view — NO FEDERAL FUNDS?” … and then of course did nothing. Positively Churchillian!
That was at least better than Sens. Mitt Romney and Marco Rubio, who praised antifa for raining violence on protesters in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August 2017. The senators called the masked psychotics anti-fascist, apparently unaware that by “fascist,” antifa means them.
Can anyone remember what that protest was about? Oh yes, the tearing down of a Confederate statue.
No punishment. Heaps of praise. Lesson learned.
In 2018, the night before Vice magazine founder McInnes gave a speech at the Metropolitan Republican Club on the Upper East Side, antifa smashed the club’s historic windows and spray-painted the anarchist “A” on the front door. Sadly for antifa, when they showed up to shut down the event the next day, they were met by McInnes’ Proud Boys — a multiracial social club for patriotic men who don’t mind a good scrap.
The speech went off, the attendees were protected, and the Proud Boys walked away. But antifa loons circled back for a sneak attack, hurling a bottle of urine at the Proud Boys. Although well outnumbered, the Proud Boys proceeded to kick skinny antifa butt. (Only the antifa girls are fat.)
Guess who was prosecuted? The Proud Boys — by Manhattan D.A. Cyrus Vance Jr., the same guy who allowed Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein to wantonly rape women and girls in his jurisdiction, year after year.
Two Proud Boys are sitting in prison right now, sentenced to four years for fighting back. McInnes himself was thrown off every social media platform and forced to announce that he was stepping down from the Proud Boys.
Not one antifa was even arrested. NYPD: Oh darn. We couldn’t catch them. (Hey — maybe send the Proud Boys next time!)
But I’m sure you’ve heard all about it on Fox News and other conservative — oh no, wait, you haven’t heard about this from anyone. Democrats used our majestic system of justice to shield antifa from any private citizen who fights back. Not one elected Republican, including our bad-ass president, lifted a finger to defend McInnes and the Proud Boys.
Conservative sunshine patriots said to themselves: Those guys have tattoos! They like to fight! I’m a “constitutional conservative”!
The left has been laying the groundwork for this anarchist takeover for a long time. But even they must be amazed that the conservative response was to roll over and play dead. Except maybe they’re not playing.

With the words “under any circumstances,” Joe Biden signaled Monday that he supports the killing of unborn babies for any reason through all nine months of pregnancy.
Gallup has released new National polling data on the issue of abortion and the results show continued pro-life sentiment across the Untied States as a majority of people say they oppose all or most abortions as Americans have said for years.
Monday’s Supreme Court decision overturning a pro-life Louisiana law that saved babies from abortions and protected women’s health has frustrated the majority of Americans who are pro-life.
Wednesday, The View co-host Sunny Hostin blamed Fox News and conservative media misinformation for the recent spikes in COVID cases across the country.
Evidence continues to mount that the new infections throughout much of the country are extremely mild, with the exception of some serious cases coming over the border from Mexico.Those two facts continue to be obscured from our policy debate over containing the virus in the southern states. The governors of California, Arizona, and Texas refuse to recognize that the mild nature of these cases is good news going forward, and they continue to ignore the threat of serious cases from the border.
Distinguishing between the two phenomena has become difficult, because the cause of both of them appears to have begun in late May and continued into June, especially in border states, which weren’t hard hit to begin with and therefore had little herd immunity to combat a new round of spread. But the timing of these serious cases at the border combined with milder cases in the interior seems to make it clear that we are seeing two distinct waves: the second and mild American wave and the importation of Mexico’s first, more serious wave.
In my previous article, I focused on the serious cases coming from the border. That issue appears to be confined to certain hospitals in the border states. What about all other cases throughout the country? They are turning out to be less potent than even the flu.
Increasing evidence that the new wave is mild for most of the country
As I pointed out regarding Florida, cases have been spiking for weeks, yet the deaths and numbers of serious cases are not rising. That dichotomy is perfectly illustrated in this graphic:
Also, much of the increase is superficial and illusory because of mass testing, multiple tests to return to work, and people coming back to the hospitals for normal care that was previously suspended. Such patients are automatically tested for the virus, regardless of their reason for admission. It appears that the virus has now spread to younger people but is also milder than it was when it first hit in earnest in March and April.
This reality is borne out by a fascinating data point about positive cases and Hispanic people. As of the week of April 25, according to the CDC, just 12.2% of the cases were among those identified as Hispanic. As of yesterday, 34.4% of all cases were among Hispanics. That is simply astounding. If you peel into some state data, you will find that cases among Hispanics compose 46% in Florida (twice their share of the population), 46% of cases in North Carolina (nearly five times their share of the population), 35% in Tennessee (nearly seven times their share of the population), and 24% of cases in Arkansas (nearly three times their share of the population).
Those numbers are astounding. But what is even more shocking is that while Hispanics compose 34.4% of confirmed positive cases, they account for just 17.7% of the fatalities, more line with their share of the national population. For example, in North Carolina, where they compose 46% of all cases, they account for just 9% of the deaths. What gives?
The only logical answer is that this is merely an illusion of mass testing of meatpacking plants and farm labor camps, where they began testing every worker, most of whom are Hispanic, especially in the southern states. Thus, as we saw with the Arkansas Tyson Foods plants, almost all of them are asymptomatic. Lots of cases; few deaths.
Why does there appear to be resurgence even beyond the accounting gimmicks? That could either be the next evolution of the virus itself or due to the mass protests and rioting. There is increasing evidence of the latter. Either way, it makes sense that it would hit in states like California, Texas, and Florida, large states that were previously barely touched by the first round and not in the northeast, which has likely achieved some degree of de facto herd immunity.
While there is still very little data quantifying who has a severe case or a mild case and who was hospitalized for coronavirus vs. hospitalized with coronavirus discovered through testing, here are two powerful anecdotes that drive home both points.
Car crashes are now COVID-19 cases
The New York Times reported on Sunday: “One-third of all patients admitted to [Miami’s] main public hospital over the past two weeks after going to the emergency room for car-crash injuries and other urgent problems have tested positive for the coronavirus.”
That is huge news that most people are not properly dissecting. Car crashes plummeted by as much as 75% in some states during the shutdown because the roads were empty. Now we are back up to normal levels of car crashes. For that matter, hospitals are now back up to normal levels of cancer, heart, stroke, and any number of procedures and treatments that were either suspended or declined because people were too scared to come in. Now that we have universal testing in the hospitals, we are merely discovering what already existed, but we never detected because hospitals were empty and we did not have universal testing capability.
These are people who would never have known they had COVID-19, much less rushed to the emergency room if not for the coincidence of their car accident or other ailment driving them into the hospital. Once they test positive, they are regarded as coronavirus patients, even if they are asymptomatic, which is the case with the majority of younger people who contract the virus.
What percentage of people counted as COVID-19 patients came because of COVID-19, vs. what percentage happened to have it asymptomatically? We don’t know, but the number has to be pretty substantial.
Cold-like symptoms as the new panic and threshold to trigger shutdown
What about those people coming to the hospital because of COVID-19? Most Americans probably conjure up images of people coming in with their lungs filled with fluid and suffering from acute respiratory distress syndrome, as we saw in New York in late March. That was never the case in most parts of the country, but it most certainly is not what’s happening now.
I long suspected, given the massive gap between deaths/ICU admissions vs. hospitalizations and cases, that these cases were much milder. Which leads me to the second anecdote. An emergency care executive from Texas explained to former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson that most cases he sees now in Texas are milder than a typical full-blown cold.
The managing partner and general counsel of the company that owns Complete Care, which operates 13 emergency care clinics in Texas, emailed Berenson with a statement illuminating the situation on the ground.
He noted that out of 2,231 tests the clinics have administered in June, although the positivity rate is at 20%, the “vast majority of the cases are mild to very mild symptoms.” He observed that most patients were in their 30s, most would not even have met the criteria for testing during the peak when kits were scarce, and that very few of them really need hospitalization. “Vast majority of the patients are better within 2-3 days of the visit and most would be described as having a cold (a mild one at that) or the symptoms related to allergies,”he said.
He further noted that half of them come in because they sneeze or cough and their employer makes them get tested.
Thus, ironically, the spike in hospitalizations now is because of the pervious lockdown, which they are now pushing again. As Dr. Robert Hancock of Texas College of Emergency Physicians said, “We saw just a rash of people that came in for relatively treatable conditions that had just waited to the point that it deteriorated. That’s kind of added to the ICU stress on top of just having the COVID-19 patients.”
Thus, what we are seeing in Texas and elsewhere is actually a fulfillment of what we all hoped for – a flattened curve of mild cases and hospitals that are able to handle severe cases, but ultimately few deaths. “Overall, based upon what we are seeing at our facilities, the above information is really more of a positive story,” wrote the emergency clinic executive to Berenson. “You have more people who are testing positive with minimal symptoms. This means that the fatality rate is less than commonly reported.”
This is perhaps why hospital officials in Texas, whose profession has typically led the charge in panic peddling since March, are actually warning the public that they are being misled with illusory data.
Houston Methodist CEO Marc Boom complained that the data is “being misinterpreted” “and, quite frankly, we’re concerned that there is a level of alarm in the community that is unwarranted right now.”
“We do have the capacity to care for many more patients and have lots of fluidity and ability to manage,” Boom said in a press conference with the CEOs of Houston’s largest hospitals as he pointed out the missing context the media and politicians are failing to provide. He pointed out that this time last year, ICU capacity was at 95%. If anything, what was occurring in April was abnormal because everyone was scared away from hospitals. And that was not a good thing.
As the media continues to be addicted to spinning bad news news, it’s incumbent upon everyone else to provide the missing context.

A senior executive, JB Neiman of a Texas-based company, Complete Care that operates 13 emergency clinics in Texas bravely went on the record with Alex Berenson a former New York Times journalist. By going on the record the man is definitely making his company a target. Nevertheless, Neiman is frustrated over the fear-mongering coming from the media and wanted to come forward and share what he is seeing.
He told Berenson, “I wanted people to hear this story as opposed to the mainstream reporting. However, I am sensitive about putting a target on myself or my company for conveying the information.”
What’s really sad is this man is afraid, to tell the truth because he’s worried about pushback.
Neiman continues to explain how many people his group has tested since last Thursday:
“In June, we tested over 2231 patients with a positive rate now close to 20% (was 4%-6% positive in May). Vast majority of the cases are mild to very mild symptoms. Average age of the people getting tested is mid-30s. Very different patient (in terms of age) then we’ve seen before June. Most of these patients would not have met the strict criteria that we previously had (and all health facilities had) for COVID testing. Now with more testing kits we are able to test a broader group of patients.”
In other words, the people coming in to be tested now would have been turned away due to the limited amount of testing kits back in April because their symptoms weren’t severe enough.
He went on to explain that they’ve had very few hospital transfers because of the coronavirus and that those transported to the hospital are typically only there for 2-3 days. He explained they are treated with a steroid shot and antibiotics which seem to clear things up.
JB then explains that they are coming to the ER because their employer advises them to get tested after having a sneeze or a cough. The other half who develop mild symptoms “just want to know” (which is very responsible, if one is positive then they know to stay away from people at risk).
He then explains the average length of stay:
“The average length of stay of Covid patients is 3-5 days. Much lower then the patients being seen in April and early May. Their symptoms are also midler. Most of these patients are not ending up in the ICU. The hospital ICU’s are filled with really sick people with non-coved issues. They didn’t come in earlier because they were scared and now they are super sick. From multiple sources at different hospitals – they have plenty of capacity and no shortage of acute care beds.
He then explains that discharge planners are being “pressured to put COVID as the primary diagnosis”because “that pays significantly better.”
Lastly, he explained that during the month of April people were really scared and that patients waited a lot longer than they should have to come to the hospital. The executive of Complete Care said that he feels what happening now is really a positive story.
“On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologise for the Climate Scare,” said an article published in Forbes magazine by Mike Shellenberger.
At least it did, till Forbes caved to furious green activists and pulled it within hours of publication. By arguing that climate change is real – but “not the end of the world” and “not even our most serious environmental problem,” Shellenberger had been found guilty of wrongthink.
As he recounts in his cancelled article – which can be read here – Shellenberger could scarcely have more impeccable greenie/lefty credentials.

In my 30s I advocated renewables and successfully helped persuade the Obama administration to invest $90 billion into them. Over the last few years I helped save enough nuclear plants from being replaced by fossil fuels to prevent a sharp increase in emissions.
But none of this was enough to save him the green mob which apparently bullied Forbes into withdrawing the piece.

Shellenberger admits that though he has known the truth for some time, he kept quiet till last year because he was ‘afraid of losing friends and funding’. What prompted him to speak out was that he saw the ‘climate scare’ was spiraling out of control.
To make amends, he wrote a book called Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All.
It exposes many inconvenient truths that greenies would prefer that you didn’t know.

Forbes – and those bullying activists – have made a huge mistake in cancelling Shellenberger’s article.
Apparently, they are unaware of the Streisand Effect, which will now ensure that Shellenberger’s message will reach an audience far bigger than it would have done otherwise.
On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years. Climate change is happening. It’s just not the end of the world. It’s not even our most serious environmental problem.
I may seem like a strange person to be saying all of this. I have been a climate activist for 20 years and an environmentalist for 30.
But as an energy expert asked by Congress to provide objective expert testimony, and invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to serve as Expert Reviewer of its next Assessment Report, I feel an obligation to apologize for how badly we environmentalists have misled the public.
Here are some facts few people know:

The amount of land we use for meat — humankind’s biggest use of land — has declinedby an area nearly as large as Alaska

I know that the above facts will sound like “climate denialism” to many people. But that just shows the power of climate alarmism.
In reality, the above facts come from the best-available scientific studies, including those conducted by or accepted by the IPCC, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and other leading scientific bodies.

But until last year, I mostly avoided speaking out against the climate scare. Partly that’s because I was embarrassed. After all, I am as guilty of alarmism as any other environmentalist. For years, I referred to climate change as an “existential” threat to human civilization, and called it a “crisis.”
But mostly I was scared. I remained quiet about the climate disinformation campaign because I was afraid of losing friends and funding. The few times I summoned the courage to defend climate science from those who misrepresent it I suffered harsh consequences. And so I mostly stood by and did next to nothing as my fellow environmentalists terrified the public.
I even stood by as people in the White House and many in the news media tried to destroy the reputation and career of an outstanding scientist, good man, and friend of mine, Roger Pielke, Jr., a lifelong progressive Democrat and environmentalist who testified in favor of carbon regulations. Why did they do that? Because his research proves natural disasters aren’t getting worse.
But then, last year, things spiraled out of control.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said “The world is going to end in twelve years if we don’t address climate change.” Britain’s most high-profile environmental group claimed “Climate Change Kills Children.”
The world’s most influential green journalist, Bill McKibben, called climate change the “greatest challenge humans have ever faced” and said it would “wipe out civilizations.”
Mainstream journalists reported, repeatedly, that the Amazon was “the lungs of the world,” and that deforestation was like a nuclear bomb going off.
As a result, half of the people surveyed around the world last year said they thought climate change would make humanity extinct. And in January, one out of five British children told pollsters they were having nightmares about climate change.
Whether or not you have children you must see how wrong this is. I admit I may be sensitive because I have a teenage daughter. After we talked about the science she was reassured. But her friends are deeply misinformed and thus, understandably, frightened.
I thus decided I had to speak out. I knew that writing a few articles wouldn’t be enough. I needed a book to properly lay out all of the evidence.
It is based on two decades of research and three decades of environmental activism. At 400 pages, with 100 of them endnotes, Apocalypse Never covers climate change, deforestation, plastic waste, species extinction, industrialization, meat, nuclear energy, and renewables.

Why were we all so misled?
In the final three chapters of Apocalypse Never I expose the financial, political, and ideological motivations. Environmental groups have accepted hundreds of millions of dollars from fossil fuel interests. Groups motivated by anti-humanist beliefs forced the World Bank to stop trying to end poverty and instead make poverty “sustainable.” And status anxiety, depression, and hostility to modern civilization are behind much of the alarmism
Once you realize just how badly misinformed we have been, often by people with plainly unsavory or unhealthy motivations, it is hard not to feel duped.
Will Apocalypse Never make any difference? There are certainly reasons to doubt it.
The news media have been making apocalyptic pronouncements about climate change since the late 1980s, and do not seem disposed to stop.
The ideology behind environmental alarmsim — Malthusianism — has been repeatedly debunked for 200 years and yet is more powerful than ever.
But there are also reasons to believe that environmental alarmism will, if not come to an end, have diminishing cultural power.
The coronavirus pandemic is an actual crisis that puts the climate “crisis” into perspective. Even if you think we have overreacted, Covid-19 has killed nearly 500,000 people and shattered economies around the globe.
Scientific institutions including WHO and IPCC have undermined their credibility through the repeated politicization of science. Their future existence and relevance depends on new leadership and serious reform.
Facts still matter, and social media is allowing for a wider range of new and independent voices to outcompete alarmist environmental journalists at legacy publications.
Nations are reverting openly to self-interest and away from Malthusianism and neoliberalism, which is good for nuclear and bad for renewables.
The evidence is overwhelming that our high-energy civilization is better for people and nature than the low-energy civilization that climate alarmists would return us to.
The invitations from IPCC and Congress are signs of a growing openness to new thinking about climate change and the environment. Another one has been to the response to my book from climate scientists, conservationists, and environmental scholars. “Apocalypse Never is an extremely important book,” writes Richard Rhodes, the Pulitzer-winning author of The Making of the Atomic Bomb. “This may be the most important book on the environment ever written,” says one of the fathers of modern climate science Tom Wigley.
“We environmentalists condemn those with antithetical views of being ignorant of science and susceptible to confirmation bias,” wrote the former head of The Nature Conservancy, Steve McCormick. “But too often we are guilty of the same. Shellenberger offers ‘tough love:’ a challenge to entrenched orthodoxies and rigid, self-defeating mindsets. Apocalypse Never serves up occasionally stinging, but always well-crafted, evidence-based points of view that will help develop the ‘mental muscle’ we need to envision and design not only a hopeful, but an attainable, future.”
That is all I hoped for in writing it. If you’ve made it this far, I hope you’ll agree that it’s perhaps not as strange as it seems that a lifelong environmentalist, progressive, and climate activist felt the need to speak out against the alarmism.

The number of new Chinese coronavirus cases in the United States could reach 100,000 a day if the country fails to turn things around, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, predicted while testifying before a Senate panel on Tuesday. There are currently about 40,000 new daily infections of COVID-19, the disease associated with the novel coronavirus, Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), a component of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), testified.
“We are now having 40-plus thousand new cases a day,”Fauci told the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP). “I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 a day if this does not turn around, and so I am very concerned.”
His comments came in response to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) asking, “How many COVID-19 deaths and infections should America expect before this is all over?”
In responding, Fauci added:
I can’t make an accurate prediction, but it is going to be very disturbing, I will guarantee you that, because when you have an outbreak in one part of the country even though in other parts of the country they are doing well, they are vulnerable… We can’t just focus on those areas that are having the surge. It puts the entire country at risk.
Fauci refused to estimate the overall number of COVID-19 fatalities, saying that he gleaned his prediction in March that there would be between 100,000 and 200,000 deaths from models that tend to change over time.
He told Senators:
I would really be hesitant to give a number [on the overall number of deaths] that will come back in either be contradicted, overblown, or under blown, but I think it’s important to tell you and the American public that I’m very concerned because it could get very bad.
Adm. Brett Giroir, the assistant secretary for health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) who testified alongside Fauci, struck a more optimistic tone, saying the country “can reverse these concerning trends.”
Dr. Giroir suggested that the United States is in a better position to handle a spike in cases, testifying:
All of us are concerned about recent data from several states indicating rising infections and now an uptick in hospitalizations and deaths even as other states and the majority of counties are maintaining a low infection burden.
Knowing what we know now about a symptom of the transmission and the fact that we are in a much better position today in terms of our mitigation strategies, PPE [personal protective equipment] and testing we can reverse these concerning trends if we work together.
He urged U.S. residents to maintain social distancing, wear a face-covering whenever physical distance is impossible, practice good hygiene, and stay home if they are feeling sick.
“If you have been in close contact with someone infected or in a gathering without appropriate precautions, get tested,” Giroir added. “Shield the elderly and the vulnerable of any age. And follow the guidelines for opening up America again.”
Echoing Fauci, Dr. Robert Redfield, the director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), noted that cases are increasing across the United States, particularly in the southern part of the country, following “an extended decline.”
The CDC chief testified:
The number of jurisdictions with an upward trajectory has continued to increase. Now 29 of 55 jurisdictions [in the United States] fall into this category. The evidence tells us that these cases are driven by many factors to include increased testing, community transmission, and outbreaks in settings such as nursing homes and occupational settings.
While hospitalizations are going up in some states, the number of hospital visits and deaths remains stable in most of the country, Redfield indicated.
“Hospitalizations now are going up in 12 states, and as of this weekend daily death has now increased in the state of Arizona,” Dr. Redfield said. “CDC is closely monitoring these increases.”
Health experts predicted cases would go up as more people ventured out of their homes during the reopening phase. Some public health experts have also warned that the recent protests are an ideal breeding ground for spreading COVID-19.
New details have emerged revealing that George Soros helped prop-up democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s political career in an attempt to put 400 Bernie Sanders-like politicians in Congress. A former organizer for Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s under-dog win in the democratic primary was undoubtedly helped by far-left organizations linked George Soros — specifically, online media which played a crucial role in her campaign.
Members linked to Soros-funded digital media asked Ocasio-Cortez to run for office which guaranteed she would get favorable coverage by a media network that reaches almost 300 million people monthly.
One member of the Soros-funded media, Cenk Uygur, also founded one of the two political groups responsible for asking Ocasio-Cortez to run, Justice Democrats — whose goal is to get Sanders-like politicians elected to Congress. Uygur, a former Armenian genocide denier, was eventually forced out of the organization after oldarticles revealed some of his previous sexist comments, often referring to women in a derogatory way.
Incumbent Joseph Crowley — whose footprint in the Democratic establishment led to speculation that he would succeed Nancy Pelosi as Democratic leader of the House — greatly outspent Ocasio-Cortez.
However, her strong online presence — thanks to the coverage of the Soros-linked digital media — she was able to gain traction and defeat Crowley in the primary June 26. She is won New York’s 14th congressional district handedly, given the district’s Democratic history.
After Ocasio-Cortez’s website, Ocasio2018.com, was first registered May 3, 2017, it redirected to Ocasio-Cortez’s now-deleted page on BrandNewCongress.Org, according to an Internet archive captured June 29, 2017. Brand New Congress is another organization, just like Justice Democrats, that aimed to get socialists elected to Congress in the 2018 mid-terms. It has close ties to Justice Democrats.
In a June 27 interview with Uygur on his YouTube channel “The Young Turks,” Ocasio-Cortez thanked Uygur and other media platforms for covering her before the primaries, which she says “in no small part” helped her win.
“I wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t for the support of Justice Democrats and Brand New Congress,” Ocasio-Cortez told Uygur. “In fact it was, it was JD (Justice Democrats) and it was Brand New Congress that asked me to run in the first place.”
The Young Turks is a member of The Media Consortium — a network of far left media publications which includes Mother Jones, Democracy Now!, and dozens of other outlets, funded by Soros. The Media Consortium is a Soros a media empire that, according to Media Research Center (MRC), reaches nearly 300 million people a month.
“Soros funds nearly every major left-wing media source in the United States,” MRC stated. “Forty-five of those are financed through his support of the Media Consortium. That organization ‘is a network of the country’s leading, progressive, independent media outlets.’ The list is predictable – everything from Alternet to the Young Turks.”
The MRC report goes on to detail the progressive echo chamber Soros intentionally created with the Media Consortium with the intention of shaping public opinion.

A man in Provo, Utah was shot by an Antifa terrorist Monday night as he tried to escape a Black Lives Matter protest mob that had taken over an intersection and swarmed his vehicle. The driver reportedly received a non-life threatening wound.
Video taken of the shooting appears to show a masked white man firing at the driver from the passenger side of a white SUV as the driver is trying to drive thorough a mob that is blocking and surrounding the vehicle. At least two gunshots can be heard on the video.
…The man, whose wounds were not life-threatening, drove himself to Utah Valley Hospital, according to police.
A group protesting police brutality had gathered at the intersection of University Avenue and Center Street on Monday evening, according to Lt. Brian Taylor of the Provo Police Department, and a second group arrived to express their support for police. Protesters were in the street, blocking cars, when a large, white SUV heading south on University Avenue pushed its way through a crowd of protesters, knocking several of them aside.
