Fed-Up AZ Supreme Court Hits Dreamers with Costly Bad News in Blowout Ruling

Reported By Ben Marquis | April 10, 2018 at 12:39pm

URL of the original posting site: https://conservativetribune.com/az-supreme-court-hits-dreamers/

Former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program created something of a legal limbo for a select class of illegal immigrants, shielding them from deportation without granting them legal status. Now, some of the program’s enrollees could quite literally be paying for that uncertainty.

According to The Washington Times, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled unanimously Monday that DACA recipients, also known as “dreamers,” are not eligible for the in-state tuition rates that some state colleges and universities were offering them, and instead will have to pay out-of-state rates.

That 7-0 decision upheld an earlier 3-0 state court of appeals ruling against the Maricopa Community Colleges, who had decided on their own volition to extend in-state tuition rates to DACA recipients. The ruling applies to all state colleges and public universities in Arizona.

The appeals court had ruled that both federal and state law granted that sort of decision-making power to the state’s political branches, and not the colleges or universities. At the heart of the decision was a 2006 law passed by voters known as Proposition 300, which declared that illegal immigrants were not eligible to receive state benefits, including in-state tuition rates.

“While people can disagree what the law should be, I hope we all can agree that the attorney general must enforce the law as it is, not as we want it to be,” stated Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

The Arizona Republic reported that an estimated 2,000 DACA recipients are currently enrolled in community colleges or state universities at in-state tuition rates, and could now find themselves being compelled to pay nearly three times as much for out-of-state rates if they wish to remain in school.

As might be expected, advocates for DACA recipients are incensed by the court’s ruling. They have claimed the decision essentially blocks access to education for dreamers by making it “impossible” for them to afford, especially when considering these particular illegal immigrants aren’t eligible for any sort of state or federal financial assistance because of their lack of legal status.

But based on a clear reading of the 2006 law, those dreamers should never have received the lower in-state tuition rates from colleges in the first place.

As Brnovich stated, “It’s about time someone held (the colleges) accountable, and that’s my job. My role as AG is to make sure you’re following the law.”

Though Brnovich did express some sympathy for the plight of the dreamers, he nevertheless pointed out that the law is the law. “What makes this country unique and great … is because the rule of law means something,” the attorney general said.

However, the Arizona Daily Sun reported that some college-aged dreamers may not ultimately find themselves having to pay the substantially higher out-of-state tuition rates thanks to something of a middle-ground solution worked out by the state university system’s Board of Regents.

That policy, put in place years ago by Regent Jay Heiler, “sets charges at 150 percent of the in-state rate for any student who graduated from an Arizona high school after attending school” in the state for at least three years, the Sun reported.

While that policy could very well be challenged through litigation, Heiler and others believe it will survive because the special rate would actually cover the costs of tuition, meaning state taxpayers would not be subsidizing or offering a “benefit” to illegal immigrants.

The Republic noted that the Arizona supreme court has only released a three-page order at this point, and won’t make the full opinion explaining the ruling public until May 14.

Whatever one may think about the state law or this court ruling, one thing that’s patently obvious is that the hap-hazard manner by which Obama devised and implemented the DACA program has once again hurt those individuals it purported to help by leaving them in a legal limbo.

The only way to truly solve the problems created by DACA is for Congress to finally agree on a permanent solution to the legal status question for DACA recipients, as President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on legislators to do.

this Weeks Ann Coulter Letter: “We Used to Care About One Another”

Commentary by Ann Coulter  |

Once upon a time, we cared about the welfare of our fellow Americans. Farmers in the Midwest devastated by tornadoes, trailer parks washed away in a Florida hurricane, our country’s ranking on various international comparisons — we all rooted for our fellow Americans. Like all countries, we would squabble, but we were family. We were all Americans. Not anymore! Now, no one cares about anything but getting rich, the better to separate oneself from the lives and concerns of poorer Americans.

Businessmen, Wall Street bankers, ethnic activists, Democrats and Republicans (including the president, apparently) — all of them have a stronger fellow feeling toward Saudi princes and German bankers than toward Iowa farmers. Being “inclusive” to “Dreamers” necessarily means being exclusionary toward our own working class.

So what if wages have flatlined — or declined! — for several decades? The smart set aren’t wage-slaves.

Mexican drug cartels aren’t swarming through their towns. They live in fancy neighborhoods.

Somali refugees aren’t beating up their kids — who are safely ensconced in expensive private schools, anyway.

Members of our governing class seem to have decided the country is doomed, so they may as well make their pile. Sure, they’ll have to face the wrath of voters and may be voted out of office, like Eric Cantor. But they’ll end up on corporate boards or win lucrative lobbying contracts. Plus, being “progressive” on immigration will look great on their kid’s Princeton application.

Everybody’s looking out for No. 1.

It wasn’t always this way. Politicians, liberal activists and journalists used to care about even non-fashionable Americans. One doesn’t have to go back to the Garfield administration to find a time when everyone wanted to protect the nation from dysfunctional immigration — the crime, the drugs, the poverty, the wage-depressing effect, the burden on our social services. Positions that are today considered hateful used to be called “common sense.”

A 1995 news article in The New York Times calmly described preparations the Immigration and Naturalization Service was making in case a “vast flood of illegal immigrants” surged across the Mexican border, “inundating entire communities as it washes north into the American heartland.” Under the Clinton administration, the illegals would face either “immediate voluntary deportation” or “emergency detention.”

No indignant denunciations followed.

More hate speech from the Times:

“Fighting illegal immigration is a difficult and important job. But Congress should do it in a way that will deter illegal entry at the border.” — New York Times editorial, Sept. 29, 1997

“(The I.N.S.) is extremely troubled, but has improved under the leadership of Doris Meissner. Since her appointment in 1993, … (t)he border is tighter, and the I.N.S. is deporting record numbers of criminal aliens.” — New York Times editorial, Aug. 10, 1997

Just a few years ago, Charles Lane, an editorial writer at The Washington Post, called for “prompt exclusion of unaccompanied Central American minors” during the border surge under Obama. “Only by showing people there is nothing to be gained by paying traffickers for the traumatic voyage through Mexico will the chaos cease.”

The great civil rights icon Barbara Jordan produced a report on immigration more than two decades ago, calling on the government to end chain migration and put a dead stop to illegal immigration, for the benefit of all Americans.

“Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave.”

She added: “Deportation is crucial.”

Far-left Democrats used to openly proclaim ideas that would get them banned from Twitter today:

“When push comes to shove, there is only one realistic way that you can stop illegal immigration into this country, and that is by making it illegal and being tough enough that illegal immigrants cannot work in this country.” — Democratic Sen. Howard Metzenbaum, 1985

“No sane country would (reward illegal immigrants), right? Guess again. If you break our laws by entering this country without permission, and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. citizenship and guarantee full access to all public and social services this society provides — and that’s a lot of services. Is it any wonder that two-thirds of the babies born at taxpayer expense in county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to illegal alien mothers?” — Democratic Sen. Harry Reid, 1993

Very recently, a presidential candidate who seemed to actually care about America’s working class denounced illegal immigration as “a Koch brothers” idea. That was Bernie Sanders.

He explained: “Open borders? No, that’s a Koch brothers’ proposal. … That’s a right-wing proposal, which says essentially there is no United States. … It would make everybody in America poorer — you’re doing away with the concept of a nation-state. … You have an obligation in my view to do everything we can to help poor people.

“What right-wing people in this country would love is an open-border policy. Bring in all kinds of people, work for $2 or $3 an hour — that would be great for them. I don’t believe in that. I think we have to raise wages in this country; I think we have to do everything we can to create millions of jobs.” — Bernie Sanders in interview with Ezra Klein of Vox on July 28, 2015

Forget hypocrisy — I don’t care about that right now. It’s the cruelty that interests me.

Have well-heeled Americans really decided to abandon their fellow citizens? These merchants of compassion have none to spare for our own people? I’m not a steelworker, a waitress or a black teenager looking for an entry-level job, either. But I still care about other Americans.

This Week’s Ann Coulter Letter: “Give Me Your Dreamers…”

Commentary by Ann Coulter

Does anyone know why President Trump loves “Dreamers” — i.e.: illegal aliens allegedly brought here before the age of 12 (which no federal judge will ever check) by their parents (which no federal judge will ever check), “through no fault of their own” (which no federal judge will ever check)?

We’ve been lectured by Mark Zuckerberg about how much better “Dreamers” are than you lazy Americans — especially African-Americans, whose jobs are disproportionately taken by illegals. (As former Mexican President Vicente Fox once charmingly put it, illegal immigrants “are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States.”)

So why aren’t we being bombarded with television interviews and profiles of these amazing human beings?

Liberals can’t make an argument without producing a victim. Attack the media — they bleat about journalists getting shot in the face while reporting abroad. Complain about FBI corruption — they choke up over G-men putting their lives on the line EVERY DAY! Denounce the Deep State — they moan that CIA officers have been killed in the line of duty.

Isn’t this the moment for our hearts to be breaking over the millions of wonderful “Dreamers” who will suffer unless we amnesty them immediately?

Let’s see ’em! Surely they’ve got a few Einsteins! After all, the media are capable of turning a gang-admiring thug who forcibly robbed a convenience store and assaulted a cop into “Gentle giant, Mike Brown.” They turned jewelry-stealing juvenile delinquent Trayvon Martin into an altar boy.

But even MSNBC dare not show us Trump’s beloved “Dreamers.” The snarling Muslim showcased by the Democrats at their 2016 convention has gotten more airtime than any “Dreamer.”

There are plenty of vague descriptions of “Dreamers,” all of whom seem to be valedictorians. But can anyone identify precisely what they have contributed to our country — other than lots of police work, welfare and protests? The best “Dreamers” always sound like the “honor student” in Tom Wolfe’s Bonfire of the Vanities: “somebody who attends class, isn’t disruptive, tries to learn, and does all right at reading and arithmetic.”

How about MSNBC interview five new “Dreamers” every night? Five non-hateful ones are probably the most they could get.

As long as Trump is going to keep babbling about these “absolutely incredible kids” — “I love these kids!” — and obstinately refuse to deport them, he must have met thousands of them. He plans to amnesty millions. Why doesn’t Trump showcase his favorite two dozen “Dreamers”? Let the rest of us decide how “incredible” they are.

But no Glamour magazine profiles, please! We want to know everything, e.g.:

> How much have they cost the taxpayers in free school lunches and medical care?

> How many anchor babies have they had?

> What percentage have been convicted of a felony or killed someone in a drunk driving accident?

> How many have been admitted to college by taking affirmative action spots intended for the descendants of American slaves?

In 2009, The New York Times’ Lawrence Downes gushed over illegal alien Benita Veliz. Three years later, liberals still hadn’t come up with a better one: In 2012, she was the featured illegal alien at the Democratic National Convention. (It only seems like the Democrats have an illegal alien speak at all their conventions. Veliz was the first.)

Downes ticked off Veliz’s “impressive” accomplishments: “She was valedictorian at Jefferson High School” — naturally! — “graduating at age 16. She went to St. Mary’s University in San Antonio on a full scholarship.” (A scholarship, I note, that otherwise might have gone to a yucky American.)

I gather Veliz is the left’s designated baby seal of “Dreamers.”

Veliz is probably a nice lady, but she was valedictorian at a school that Downes would never send his kids to. Jefferson High School is 98 percent minority, less than half the students are “English proficient,” and only 16 percent are ready for college.

HOW DID AMERICA EVER GET BY WITHOUT HER?

Or to use Downes’ more-relaxed standard: “How will this country be a better place once we force Benita Veliz to leave it?” Off the top of my head: There would be less strain on education budgets, hospital emergency rooms, roads and bridges, and that college scholarship Veliz got would be open to an American kid.

This is a country built by Western Europeans. Immigrants arrived after it was already set up and running well. The idea that any immigrant who hasn’t committed a felony is someone we can’t live without is absurd.

If you’re a yuppie in a rich white area and don’t like cleaning your toilets, the Trump administration has been great for you. But if you’re a Trump voter, you’re scratching your head wondering what happened to those campaign promises that set him apart from every other Republican.

Tucker: Demographics In America Are Changing ‘Bewilderingly Fast’ — ‘Without Any Real Public Debate On The Subject’

Reported by Justin Caruso | Media Reporter | 10:08 PM 03/19/2018

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson spoke frankly on Monday about demographic change in the United States.

“Now, before you start calling anyone bigoted…”

“A recent piece in National Geographic tells you a lot about demographics in America, and about how bewilderingly fast they’re changing without any real public debate on the subject,” The Daily Caller co-founder said.

“The magazine profiles the small coal mining town of Hazleton, Pennsylvania. In the year 2000, Hazleton’s  population was 2 percent Hispanic. Just 16 years later, Hazleton is majority Hispanic. That’s a lot of change. People who grew up in Hazleton return to find out they can’t communicate with the people who now live there. And that’s bewildering for people. That’s happening all over the country. No nation, no society has ever changed this much, this fast.” (RELATED: ‘Why Don’t We Get Real?’: Tucker Takes On Illegal Immigrant Lawyer [VIDEO])

“Now, before you start calling anyone bigoted, consider and be honest, how would you feel if that happened in your neighborhood? It doesn’t matter how nice the immigrants are. They probably are nice. Most immigrants are nice, that’s not the point. The point is–this is more change than human beings are designed to digest. This pace of change makes societies volatile–really volatile, just as ours has become volatile.”

“And notice where this change is not happening? Any place our leaders live. They caused all of us with their reckless immigration policies, and yet their own neighborhoods are basically unchanged, they look like it’s 1960. No demographic change at all in their zip codes. Our leaders are for diversity, just not where they live.” (RELATED: ‘It’s Just Unbelievable’: Jeff Sessions Lays Down The Law With Tucker [VIDEO])

Tucker Tells Real Story Behind Video Of ICE Pulling Mother From Kids

Reported by Amber Athey | Media Reporter | 8:54 PM 03/13/2018

Screen Shot Tucker Carlson (Fox News: March 13, 2018)

Fox News host Tucker Carlson told viewers Tuesday the real story behind a viral video that showed an illegal immigrant mother being ripped away from her kids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The video shows a woman being pulled away from her three screaming daughters as ICE orders her to get into a van. Media outlets ran with the “upsetting” video, focusing their headlines on the idea that the woman was unfairly being taken from her kids.

The Washington Post, for example, wrote, “Dramatic video shows Border Patrol agents pulling woman away from her screaming children,” while the Los Angeles Times said, “Video of woman being pulled away from her daughters in immigration arrest sparks anger.”

CBS News similarly claimed, “Video of woman’s immigration arrest sparks outcry, response from Border Patrol.”

However, there is much more to the story than what is shown in the video.

As Carlson reported on his show, the ICE agents made a targeted arrest based on suspicions that the woman was involved in a human trafficking ring.

“A key detail is being left out,” The Daily Caller co-founder explained. “The woman in that video…isn’t some random illegal alien pulled off the street by those cowboys. She’s suspected by the feds of organizing a human trafficking operation.”

“I don’t know if I’ve seen coverage as dishonest as this in a long time,” he continued. “I mean, this is the definition of propaganda.”

Mark Krikorian from the Center for Immigration Studies agreed, stating, “They knew that this woman was involved in a smuggling ring and they saw her out, they tried to get in touch with her before and she didn’t respond and, apparently, when they confronted her in the street she tried to flee.”

Report: Trump’s Wall Could Pay For Itself By Cutting Welfare To Illegals

Reported By Randy DeSoto | March 12, 2018 at 10:58am

URL of the original posting site: https://www.westernjournal.com/report-trumps-wall-pay-cutting-welfare-illegals/

A new study says there may be no need for President Donald Trump to have Mexico pay for the southern border wall, because it would pay for itself in savings to the American taxpayer. The Center for Immigration Studies report revealed the costs of the $18 billion wall would be quickly compensated by curbing the number of illegal immigrants who enter the country and enroll in public programs, as well as the costs associated with crime.

“The wall could pay for itself even if it only modestly reduced illegal crossings and drug smuggling,” CIS President Steven A. Camarota told New York Post.

According to federal data, illegal border crossings in El Paso, Texas dropped 89 percent over a 5- year period after a two-story-high fence was erected during the George W. Bush administration. Similarly, in San Diego, crossings dropped 95 percent in 2006 after a fence was erected as part of the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which passed both chambers of Congress by large majorities.

Without a wall, the Homeland Security Department estimates there will be 1.7 million illegal crossings from Mexico into the U.S. over the next decade. Camarota said if just 200,000 of those crossings were stopped by the wall, it would pay for itself in savings from welfare, public education, refundable tax credits and other benefits currently given to low-income immigrants from Mexico and Central American countries.

According to CIS, 75 percent of the illegal immigrants in the country are from those regions.

Camarota added if the crossings were reduced by 50 percent, the savings to the American taxpayer would be $64 billion, or well over 3.5 times the wall’s cost.

“A large share of the welfare used by immigrant households is received on behalf of their U.S.-born children,” he said. “This is especially true of households headed by illegal immigrants.”

The U.S. Census Bureau’s latest “survey of income and program participation” showed 62 percent of illegal immigrant heads of household are on the federal dole.

Appearing Monday on “Fox & Friends,” Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, affirmed the conclusions of the CIS study.

“When you look at what a wall will do in allowing us to apprehend the vast majority of those individuals that are coming across the border, it will cut down on how much the taxpayer burden will be, which then will go straight into funding the wall,” he said.

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen stated in January that the administration is seeking funding for 700 miles of wall construction for target strategic areas along the 2,000-mile border. There are currently approximately 650 miles of fencing in various forms. Around 350 miles consist of pedestrian fencing, usually about 15-feet tall, and there are 300 miles of vehicle barriers.

Fox News reported that Trump plans to view the eight prototypes of his “big, beautiful wall” on Tuesday near San Diego. Each is 30-feet high. Four are made of concrete, while the others incorporate concrete among other construction materials.

At a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday night, Trump affirmed, “We are building the wall, 100 percent,” in response to chants of “Build that wall.”

“For people, for gangs, for drugs. The drugs have never been a problem like we have right now,” the president stated.

He also told the crowd he would not accede to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto’s request to state publicly that his country would not have to pay for the wall. Trump recounted ending the call: “I said ‘Bye, bye. We’re not making that deal.’”

Federal Judge Secures Massive DACA Win For Trump… Changes Underway For Illegal Immigrants

Authored By Randy DeSoto | March 6, 2018 at 12:25pm

URL of the original posting site: https://www.westernjournal.com/federal-judge-secures-massive-daca-win-trump-changes-underway-illegal-immigrants/

President Donald Trump lauded a win in a federal court affirming his authority to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The program — initiated by former President Barack Obama by executive action in 2012 — allows those who arrived in the United States before they turned 16 the ability to apply for renewable two-year deferments on deportation.

“Federal Judge in Maryland has just ruled that ‘President Trump has the right to end DACA,’” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. “President Obama had 8 years to fix this problem, and didn’t. I am waiting for the Dems, they are running for the hills!”

Federal district court Judge Roger W. Titus found that Trump was fully within his authority to rescind Obama’s executive order last September and provide Congress six months to address the issue legislatively.

“(Trump’s) decision took control of a pell-mell situation and provided Congress — the branch of government charged with determining immigration policy — an opportunity to remedy it. Given the reasonable belief that DACA was unlawful, the decision to wind down DACA in an orderly manner was rational,” Titus wrote, according to The Washington Examiner.

Titus added that any rhetoric Trump may have employed regarding illegal immigration in the past was not relevant to reaching a legal ruling concerning DACA.

“As disheartening or inappropriate as the president’s occasionally disparaging remarks may be, they are not relevant to the larger issues governing the DACA rescission. The DACA Rescission Memo is clear as to its purpose and reasoning, and its decision is rationally supported by the administrative record,” the judge stated.

The Washington Examiner noted that Titus’ ruling does not override decisions made by federal courts in California and New York issuing preliminary injunctions from preventing the Trump administration from winding down the program for the approximately 700,000 currently enrolled.

Multiple legal experts told the Examiner the fate of DACA is likely on the fast track to the U.S. Supreme Court. The case is currently at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco and on its way to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City.

Last week, the Supreme Court declined the Trump administration’s request to bypass the appeals court level, but that decision in no way speaks to whether the court would take up the case in a matter of months following rulings at the circuit courts.

Trump had set March 5 as the deadline for Congress to act on DACA, which the federal court rulings in effect placed a hold on.

The president has accused Democrats several times of being unwilling to solve the DACA issue.

The deal Trump seeks is building a U.S.-Mexico border wall and an end to the Visa lottery program and chain migration.

Meanwhile Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill. has blamed Trump for creating the “crisis.”

As reported by The Western Journal, Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe reminded Durbin last month who was truly to blame for the DACA issue.

“It’s hard for me to take Sen. Dick Durbin seriously and lay this at the feet of Trump,” said Boothe, “because the reason why we are here right now is President Obama did something he himself said he did not have the legal authority to do in creating the DACA program.”

Advertisement – story continues below

“This is a temporary stopgap measure,” Obama said when he announced the policy.

Boothe pointed out that Obama’s decision to proceed with DACA in June 2012, during the heat of his re-election campaign, shows that to him, the issue was a political one.

Last fall, after Obama called Trump’s decision to end the program cruel,” Booth said it was time for the former occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to “go away,” noting he had his chance.

The Democrats held both houses of Congress — including a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate — during Obama’s first two years in office, yet did nothing to address immigration, despite calls from Hispanic leaders to do so.

When asked about the topic during a 2010 Univision interview, Obama responded, “I am president, I am not king. I can’t do these things just by myself. We have a system of government that requires the Congress to work with the executive branch to make it happen.”

ICE Report Rips Apart Liberal Narrative about “Law-Abiding” Illegal Aliens

Authored By Ben Marquis | February 19, 2018 at 3:16pm

URL of the original posting Site: https://conservativetribune.com/ice-report-narrative-illegal-aliens/

President Donald Trump ran for office on a promise to crack down on illegal immigration, and repeatedly noted that he would focus on the arrest and removal from the country of “bad hombres” that had criminal convictions or pending charges.

Of course, liberals countered with the tired narrative that hardly any illegal immigrants are criminals, and that Trump would in essence be targeting “law-abiding” illegals — the narrative they lean on to support their sanctuary city policies that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration officials in turning over locally detained illegals for federal adjudication, processing and removal.

But according to The Daily Wire, a recent report released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement totally undercut that narrative as it made clear that an overwhelming percentage of illegal immigrants arrested by ICE in the 2017 fiscal year — roughly 90 percent — either had a criminal record or had criminal charges pending against them, with very few qualifying as “law-abiding” with no known convictions or pending charges.

That 18-page summary report detailed how ICE activity increased significantly following a Jan. 25, 2017, executive order from President Trump, and compared the resulting numbers of arrests with previous years.

Pew Research took a deep dive into the numbers of the report and found that of all those arrested by ICE in FY 2017;

  • Some 74 percent had past criminal convictions.

  • An additional 16 percent of those arrested faced pending criminal charges,

  • A mere 11 percent had no criminal record or pending charges to speak of.

Interestingly, the report showed that ICE arrests in 2017 were nearly half of the number of arrests made in FY 2009, former President Barack Obama’s first year in office, and that roughly 61 percent of those arrested in 2009 by Obama’s ICE were of the “non-criminal” variety. That’s exactly the opposite of what liberals would have you believe.

Of course, the total number of arrests dropped significantly over Obama’s tenure in office, with a decisive closing of that gap between criminal and non-criminal over the latter years, though the number of arrests picked up sharply following Trump’s inauguration into office — some 30 percent higher over the previous year.

Of those arrested in 2017 with past criminal convictions, the top criminal category was driving under the influence, followed closely by possession or distribution of “dangerous drugs.” Other traffic offenses, immigration law violations and assault rounded out the top five criminal categories.

Pew noted that there was a bit of regional variance in the numbers of criminal versus non-criminal ICE arrests. For example, some 88 percent of those arrested in the southern California area had a criminal record, while only about 60 percent of those arrested in New Jersey were known criminals.

The ICE report didn’t come right out and explicitly condemn sanctuary city policies, but it wasn’t difficult to catch the numerous allusions to such policies at several points throughout the report.

Most notably, a section of the report titled “At-Large Arrests” pointed out that in some jurisdictions, ICE was compelled to make at-large arrests within the community of illegal immigrants, which inevitably brings them into contact with non-criminal illegals.

Comparatively, when ICE is permitted to make arrests in a “custodial setting” such as a jail or prison, it is virtually guaranteed that the arrestee will either have a criminal record or pending criminal charges, and is far less likely to be a non-criminal swept up in the at-large arrests or sweeping raids.

Because of the lack of cooperation from sanctuary city jurisdictions, ICE had to make significantly more at-large arrests in the community than in prior years. The non-criminal illegals caught in those arrests have nobody to blame but themselves (for being here illegally in the first place) and the liberal politicians who refused to cooperate with federal officials for their detainment.

The ICE report noted that it would be far better for everyone involved — both law enforcement officials and non-criminal illegal immigrants — if such jurisdictions cooperated and handed over criminal illegals to ICE within a custodial setting, which would negate the need for at-large arrests and raids to track down known criminal illegals.

The liberal media would have us all believe that Trump and ICE are rounding up and deporting millions of “law-abiding,” non-criminal illegal immigrants, but the numbers released by ICE paint a far different picture, and reveal that Trump has thus far kept his word; that he is focused on rooting out and deporting criminals who shouldn’t be here.

60 Democrats and business-first establishment Republican Senators blocked President Donald Trump’s populist immigration reform agenda, pushing the hot-button topic towards the November election.

Democratic leader Chuck Schumer used his brief speech before the vote to blame President Donald Trump for the Democrats’ refusal to accept a reform-for-amnesty deal, saying:

President Trump created this problem by terminating the DACA program last August. Since then, President Trump has stood in the way over every single proposal that could become law …  President Trump has failed his test of leadership spectacularly.

The Trump-backed bill, led by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, lost by 39 to 60, showcasing the political clout of the tacit alliance between pro-immigration progressive Democrats and roughly 12 business-first Republicans, plus at least one anti-amnesty Republican. Many business groups had pressured the GOP Senators to vote against the reforms, largely because Trump promised to cut future legal immigration levels.

The defeat may block pending Senate negotiations over the appropriation of $1.6 billion for the border-wall spending in 2018. The funding decision is slated for completion in late March.

The defeat also invites Trump to make immigration reform a central issue in the November election. White House officials have pushed that strategy in the last few days, noting that polls show that most Americans want immigration rules to favor Americans and their paychecks — instead of cheap-labor companies or immigrants.

The vote showed that several red-state Democrats facing the voters this November joined with the business-first Republicans to maintain wage-cutting immigration, and to preserve the unpopular visa-lottery and chain-migration programs.

Throughout the four-vote series of amendments, few Democrats crossed the line to vote for Trump’s pro-American proposals, while several Republicans backed the cheap-labor amnesty bills.

For example, only three Democrats voted against the Democrats’ main proposal — which would have suspended enforcement of immigration law for migrants who arrived before January 1 (a morning draft of the legislation said the deadline was June 30).

At least two of those Senators only voted no after the 41 GOP Senators had already successfully voted to block the proposal. They were New Mexico Sen. Tom Udall and California Sen. Kamala Harris. The final result was 47 to 54.

Three red-state Democratic Senators voted for the Grassley/Trump measure. They were North Dakota’s Heidi Heitkamp, Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly and West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin. Roughly 14 GOP Senators voted against the reform.

Also, eight Republicans voted for the Democrats’ main amnesty bill, which was credited to the Democrat-dominated “Common Sense Coalition.” The amnesty GOP Senators were led by Sen. Lindsey Graham and Sen. Jeff Flake, but also included Maine Sen. Susan Collins, South Dakota Sen. Mike Rounds,  Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Tennesee Sen. Lamar Alexander, and Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson. The Democrats’ anti-enforcement measure was also supported by GOP Sen. Cory Gardner, who is actually the chairman of the GOP Senators’ 2018 election campaign.

Media outlets portrayed the GOP’s business-first Senators as “moderates” or “conservatives.”

The 14 GOP Senators who voted against the Grassley-Trump measure included South Dakota’s Sen. John Thune, who is a member of the leadership team with Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell. The no votes included Sen. Ted Cruz, who said earlier he would oppose it because it endorsed an amnesty along with immigration reforms.

The list of 14 Senators also included several pro-amnesty Senators — Collins, Flake, and Murkowski — plus a series of business-leaning Senators, including Sens. Ben Sasse, John Thune, John Barrasso and Mike Enzi from Wyoming, Mike Lee from Utah, Jerry Moran from Kansas, Steve Daines from Montana, and John Kennedy from Lousiana.

Four GOP Senators — Flake, Gardner, Graham, Murkowski — also voted yes for another amnesty bill drafted by Democratic Sen. Chris Coons and GOP Sen. John McCain. That bill was defeated 47 to 52. Sen. Joe Manchin, a red-state Democrat who faces the voters in November, vote against the Coons-McCain giveaway.

Several of the Schumer-allied, pro-amnesty GOP Senators covered their pro-amnesty votes by also voting for the Grassley measure once it was clear that it would fail. They included Alexander, Gardner, Graham, Isakson, and Rounds.

Nearly all Democratic Senators voted against a proposal by GOP Sen. Toomey to financially penalize sanctuary cities. The amendment got 54 votes, which kept it six votes below the 60-vote threshold. Forty-seven Democrats voted against sanctuary-city penalties.

Even without the new laws from Congress, Trump can continue to enforce immigration laws, punish employers for hiring illegals and update visa and security rules to exclude dangerous migrants.

Many polls show that Trump’s 2016 immigration policies are very popular in the polling booth. His proposed amnesty for 1.8 million illegals gets high scores in business-funded polls but is unlikely to shift any votes into the GOP column in November.

Immigration polls which ask people to pick a priority, or to decide which options are fair, show that voters in the polling booth put a high priority on helping their families and fellow nationals get decent jobs in a high-tech, high-immigrationlow-wage economy. Those results are very different from the “Nation of Immigrants” polls which are funded by CEOs and progressives, and which pressure Americans to say they welcome migrants.

Four million Americans turn 18 each year and begin looking for good jobs in the free market.

But the federal government inflates the supply of new labor by annually accepting roughly 1.1 million new legal immigrants, by providing work-permits to roughly 3 million resident foreigners, and by doing little to block the employment of roughly 8 million illegal immigrants.

The Washington-imposed economic policy of economic growth via mass-immigration floods the market with foreign laborspikes profits and Wall Street values by cutting salaries for manual and skilled labor offered by blue-collar and white-collar employees. It also drives up real estate priceswidens wealth-gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, hurts kids’ schools and college education, pushes Americans away from high-tech careers, and sidelines at least 5 million marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with opioid addictions.

Chuck Schumer’s three decades of immigration lies

How far we have fallen as a political system: An entire political party is now willing to shut the government down over a policy exclusively for illegal aliens, not Americans. Even more appalling is that the very leader of the shutdown is a man who has lied to us numerous times on immigration and has created the very immigration crisis we face today by pushing similar amnesty policies before. Most ironic, Schumer himself once expressed support for the very policies he is now calling racist and over which he has triggered the Schumer Shutdown.

On Thursday, Politico reported that Chuck Schumer told President Trump there will be no deal unless Sen. Tom Cotton is removed from the negotiating table. After all, the American taxpayer is not allowed to have a voice in the room who actually cares about the citizenry at least as much as illegal aliens. The problem is that Schumer and most other Democrats once upon a time supported what Cotton is trying to accomplish, at least in rhetoric. The reason Schumer is so disgruntled over the presence of people like Tom Cotton and Stephen Miller is because they have matched his knowledge of the immigration issue and deftly expose his double talk on the issue — double talk that has allowed him to get away with immigration fakery for 32 years as a member of both the House and the Senate.

The endless lies: “Immigration works for Americans”

Every bad outcome on immigration has emanated either from the unelected branches of government (administrative and judicial) or legislation that was sold to the American people as doing the opposite of its actual intent. This is true of the 1965 and 1990 immigration bills, the 1980 refugee bill, and the 1986 amnesty bill. It is widely known how Kennedy and other Democrats promised in 1965 that the new immigration system would not flood the country with poor chain migrants, undermine assimilation, and become a burden on Americans. What is less known is that the 1990 expansion of the ’65 Hart-Celler Act was actually designed to fix the flaws of the original bill (the flaws that were never supposed to exist), but once again did the exact opposite.

In 1989, there was a bipartisan consensus that there was too much chain migration, that there were too few immigrants of particular merit, and that the orientation of the immigrants wasn’t diverse enough. What they meant by diversity was that the Hart-Celler Act spawned a monopoly of immigration from Latin America and Asia, while locking out European immigrants. Schumer was lobbied heavily by the New York Irish community to increase immigration opportunities from Ireland, which eventually evolved into the diversity visa lottery. Contrary to popular thought, the diversity lottery was not designed to bring in more immigrants from the third world. Rather, it was designed to rectify the chain migration from the third world that locked out European immigration. And indeed, for the first three years of the diversity lottery, 40 percent of the visas were allocated to Ireland.

When the comprehensive bill was first introduced in the Senate Judiciary Committee by Sens. Alan Simpson and Ted Kennedy, it actually had a points system that prioritized English language proficiency and limited chain migration. But even as the bill was quietly being made into yet another expansionist bill, contrary to its initial pitch, Chuck Schumer was still promoting the bill as a way of moving from chain migration to a skills-based system and fostering more, not less, immigration from Europe. On October 3, 1990, Schumer lamented on the House floor how “only 4 percent of all immigration is employer-sponsored,” which “hurts our economy” and “hurts every American.” He said that this bill would correct that problem by making immigration based on skills because “immigration should be job related … it should help America grow economically.” He also said “immigration should be as diverse as it once was,” because “countries like Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Nigeria … cannot get people into this country, even though there are many people of that ancestry here.”

Not only did Schumer lament family-based migration shutting out merit-based migration, he actually touched on America’s ancestry and lamented the monopoly of Latin America over Europe. And he did so almost 30 years ago, when we were at the foot of the mountain of chain migration from those countries. That was 30 million immigrants ago, almost all brought here though chain migration, many of whom came in as a result of immigrants who came here after enactment of the bill Schumer supported, which was supposed to rectify what he admitted harmed America’s economy.

Yet he lied to us in 1990 about fixing legal immigration, just as he lied to us in 1986 about amnesty.

During debate over the ’86 amnesty, Schumer said the following:

“What is it not? It is not millions of people cascading across the border. … It is not welfare benefits for those folks immediately. In fact, it’s in the bill right now that they cannot get AFDC benefits. … It is not immediately wives, husbands, and children will come across. Not the case.”

Guess what? The highest rates of welfare usage are now from the countries of origin most associated with illegal migration; namely, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

But it goes a step further.

Now those lies are home to roost

Schumer admitted amnesty was a gamble. Now he’s shamelessly asking us to gamble our future on the failed results of his first gamble. As reported by the New York Times, following passage of the amnesty, Schumer said something amazingly prescient:

”The bill is a gamble, a riverboat gamble. There is no guarantee that employer sanctions will work or that amnesty will work. We are headed into uncharted waters.”

To this day, we are paying for Schumer’s self-admitted gamble on amnesty and lies about enforcement with an entire new generation of illegal immigrants that he promised wouldn’t exist. We are paying for his lies about the 1990 bill that it would fix chain migration, as we are witnessing a wave of chain migration even the skeptics could never have imagined back then. We are paying for his lies about the diversity lottery, which was supposed to reorient immigration towards Europe and has instead opened the floodgates from the Middle East and has brought in some terrorists.

And here we are three decades later with this same man now leading the Democrat Party and shutting down the government in order to promote amnesty for the very people that came from his original amnesty. Are we to continue taking this man seriously?

Either way, it’s important to observe that once upon a time, Schumer at least felt the need to lie to the American people and actually speak like Tom Cotton and Stephen Miller. Even as late as 2009, Schumer had to speak with clarity on illegal immigration:

Except back then, very few called him out. Now he feels uncomfortable because Cotton has matched his institutional knowledge about the issue and is able to call BS on his duplicitous talk of enforcement.

Now Cotton has a bill that finally fulfills the bipartisan promise on chain migration. And Goodlatte has a bill incorporating both the Cotton bill and some sort of amnesty for 700,000 illegals. And Yet Schumer is rejecting something that he has expressed support for, on an issue for which he is personally responsible.

We’ve been doing amnesty since 1986, and we’ve been lied to about immigration in general since 1965. We haven’t been fixing legal immigration to end chain migration, which was a bipartisan promise that Schumer agreed to in 1990. Isn’t it time to first fulfill the promise to Americans before pursuing another amnesty?

There’s an important lesson from Schumer and Kennedy in the 1990 bill. Aristide Zolberg, one of the leading immigration historians of recent memory, asked the question in his scholarly book, “A Nation by Design,” how a bill that was introduced amidst anti-mass migration sentiment in the country wound up “moving in the opposite direction?” Citing other commentators, he noted that “while public support for a reduction in legal immigration was broad, it was not well-organized. … In contrast, a liberal coalition of well-organized organized groups, including ethnic organizations, churches, and employer associations, articulated strong opposition to proposals for restricting legal immigration.”

Schumer has moved full speed ahead on lies and subterfuge on immigration for decades because there was no organized and precise voice to give power to the silent majority on this issue. Nobody has stood for the forgotten American taxpayer, who must bear the burden of terrible immigration policy. That is changing with voices like Cotton and Stephen Miller. Which is why Chuck Schumer is no longer speaking the language of the American citizen — because there is now somebody on the playing field to hold him to account.

Liberals Launch Program to Increase No. of Illegals Allowed to Stay by 1,100%

Reported By Ben Marquis | November 13, 2017 at 2:17pm

URL of the original posting Site: https://conservativetribune.com/liberals-program-illegals-allowed/?

Since President Donald Trump took office, there has been a marked difference in the manner in which the federal government deals with illegal immigration, both on the border and within the country.

Deportations are reportedly rising, but liberals are intent on reversing that trend and allowing as many illegals to remain lawfully in the country as long as possible, and they appear to now be using taxpayer funds to do so.

The liberal New York City-based Vera Institute of Justice just announced via a press release the formation of a new program known as the Safety and Fairness for Everyone Cities Network.

The SAFE Cities Network provides publicly-funded legal representation to both legal immigrants and illegals involved in deportation and detainment hearings at no cost to the immigrants themselves. Some localities have begun similar programs on their own already.

The program is based on a study by the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project that was conducted in one particular New York City immigration court, the results of which the Vera Institute now intends to attempt to duplicate nationwide.

That study found that immigrants facing deportation hearings had only a 4 percent success rate of avoiding deportation when representing themselves, but that their success rate was about 48 percent when they were provided with legal representation — an estimated increase of 1,100 percent.

The organization touted, “Network members come from 11 politically, economically, and ethnically diverse jurisdictions that are united in their commitment to the belief that … a crucial way to keep our communities safe is to ensure legal representation for those whose future depends on it.”

Except that the 11 Network members aren’t exactly as “politically” diverse as the Vera Institute would have the public believe. Just check out the list of participating jurisdictions and see if you can spot the one thing they all have in common.

The 11 Network members are: Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; Dane County, WI; Oakland/Alameda County, CA; Prince George’s County, MD; Sacramento, CA; San Antonio, TX; and Santa Ana, CA.

If you noticed that all of those cities and/or counties are liberal-dominated and Democrat-controlled, even if they are in a “red” state, then you would be correct.

The Vera Institute proudly proclaimed that under their initiative, “[Eleven] jurisdictions are providing funding for trained legal service providers to represent immigrants facing deportation proceedings supplemented by a catalyst grant administered by Vera.”

What that means is that Vera provided some private funding up front to start the program, but that participant jurisdictions will continue the program with taxpayer dollars.

Were this initiative to be completely funded by private dollars, we would have no qualms with it whatsoever, as it would be nothing more than liberals putting their money where their mouths are and funding a venture to protect illegals by themselves. But this program will utilize taxpayer money, funds that will inevitably come from individuals vehemently opposed to the program who will nevertheless be paying for it. That is not right.

Furthermore, can we expect liberal organizations like the Vera Institute to formulate similar programs using taxpayer funding to provide for the “free” legal defense of American citizens facing hearings for violations of gun or tax laws or other government regulations? After all, wouldn’t that be “fair” to everyone?

We highly doubt it.

Deportations Up 34 Percent Since Trump, Over Half Were Criminals

Reported By V Saxena | October 26, 2017 at 2:13pm

URL of the original posting site: https://conservativetribune.com/deportations-up-since-trump/?

During the first nine months of President Donald Trump’s presidency, U.S. immigration authorities deported 34 percent more illegals from the interior than were deported during the same period of time the previous year.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents specifically deported 54,000 illegals from the interior, though an additional 88,818 illegals were deported directly from the border as well, according to The Washington Post.

Moreover, of the total 142,818 illegals deported from both the border and the interior from Jan. 22 to Sept. 9, an astonishing 83,254 were known criminals.

According to Kevin K. McAleenan, the acting chief of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, this strategy — which revolves around both ridding the nation of illegals and also disincentivizing other illegals from trying to cross into America — appears to be working like a charm.

“We are fully tallying our 2017 results but in all likelihood it’s going to be the lowest level of illegal crossings between ports of entry in over 45 years,” he said this week at a Senate Finance Committee hearing, as reported by The Washington Times.

“The clear intent to enforce immigration law has resulted in a significant reduction of crossings,” he added. However, he cautioned that “there are still some fundamental aspects of the system that need to be addressed.”

Correct.

We need a border wall, as well as mandatory E-Verify, enhanced border surveillance and other measures to deter foreigners from even thinking about heading for the United States illegally. A 70-point immigration plan unveiled by the Trump administration earlier this month contained some of these.

Likewise, a recent poll found that a majority of Americans support the president’s immigration reform plans.

Despite charges from Democratic leaders like Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi that the ‘vast majority of Americans’ decry Trump’s America First focus, the new survey shows that many of the president’s policies are supported by 70 percent to 80 percent of the public,” the Washington Examiner reported at the time.

Deportations are up, border crossings are down and prototypes for the president’s wall have begun to be built. Who could possibly be unhappy about any of this?

Only liberals, of course.

Mitch McConnell Gets Bad News… Asked To Step Down

Reported

URL of the original posting site: https://www.westernjournalism.com/conservatives-demand-mcconnel-step-down-as-senate-leader/?

Advertisement – story continues below

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has been hit with a heavy vote of no confidence from conservative groups around the country. On Wednesday, leaders from several conservative organizations called on McConnell to abdicate his position, citing a list of broken promises he made to Republican voters.

They are calling on not only McConnell, but also members of his leadership team, to step down.

“You and the rest of your leadership team were given the majority because you pledged to stop the steady flow of illegal immigration,” states their letter to McConnell, according to Fox News. “You have done nothing. You pledged to reduce the size of this oppressive federal government. You have done nothing. You pledged to reduce, and ultimately eliminate the out-of-control deficit spending that is bankrupting America. You have done nothing. You promised to repeal Obamacare, ‘root and branch.’ You have done nothing. You promised tax reform. You have done nothing.”

Disgruntled conservatives held a news conference in Washington, D.C. to address their concerns and desire to see the leadership team dissolved.

“We call on all five members of the GOP Senate leadership to step down, or for their caucus to remove them as soon as possible,” Ken Cuccinelli, the president of the Senate Conservatives Fund, said at the conference.

Advertisement – story continues below

The Senate Conservatives Fund, founded in 2008 by former Senator Jim DeMint, has worked for years to elect more conservative GOP candidates to the upper chamber in Congress. The group has regularly clashed with the more moderate wing of GOP leadership. The SCF wasn’t the only group calling for McConnell to vacate his position.

Members from FreedomWorks, For America and the Tea Party Patriots also joined the chorus in demanding GOP Senate leaders step aside after failing to enact conservative legislation, despite voters giving the Republican Party full control of Washington, D.C. on Election Day.

This is not the first time conservatives have called on McConnell to step down as majority leader, but the ferocity of Wednesday’s press conference certainly puts an added weight on Republican lawmakers to get things done this legislative session.

The letter and press conference come as congressional Republicans are currently working to enact tax reform. GOP leaders so far have not succeeded in repealing Obamacare, failing several times to push through their own GOP health care bills. Republicans are hoping tax reform will be an issue the entire party can rally behind.

“If this was a football team, and you’d lost this many times, you’d start seriously considering firing the coaches,” said For America President David Bozell.

Despite all agreeing that they’d wish to see McConnell go, many conservative leaders are not certain who they would like to see as a replacement.

“If I had to pick someone, I’d love to draft like Pat Toomey maybe,” FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon said, referring to the GOP Pennsylvania senator. “There’s a lot of different people out there who I think could unite this caucus and actually lead on some issues.”

Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots group, said she could see herself supporting Georgia GOP Senator David Perdue. “I’m from Georgia, so I’m not opposed to him,” Martin explained, touting the junior senator’s extensive business background as a former CEO.

Conservative candidates are taking notice as well. As the 2018 election cycle begins to heat up, many pro-Trump candidates are hoping to gain traction by displaying stronger support for the president.

“With rare exception, GOP senators blocking Trump’s agenda are impediments we can not afford. Double that for Senate leaders,” Ron Wallace, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Virginia, said in a statement to Western Journalism.

Wallace is an insurgent candidate hoping to win the GOP primary and take on incumbent Democrat Senator Tim Kaine. Wallace is running on a pro-Trump platform and believes it’s imperative the GOP majority pass what they promised to do.

“The American People voted for Tax Cuts, Border Walls, Rapid Growth, Excellent Law Enforcement, and Better Education. I expect strong proactive policies to make those outcomes possible and deliver cost-effective solutions, by whatever means may be necessary,” he said.

Ann Coulter: They Don’t Call It ‘the Great Tweet of China’

Commentary by Ann Coulter | 21 Sep 2017

URL of the original posting site: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/09/21/ann-coulter-dont-call-great-tweet-china/?

Taking nothing away from the fine people who lost their lives in the recent hurricanes, since the 2005 hurricane season, about 200 Americans have died in hurricanes, plus 82 in Hurricane Harvey and 50 in Hurricane Irma. That’s 332 deaths from hurricanes in the past 12 years.

Even a federal government determined not to tell Americans how many illegal immigrants are committing crimes admits that — at a minimum — there are 350,000 illegal immigrants incarcerated in state prisons and jails, and 3,500 are in for murder. Considering that the average time served for murder in America is six years, that means that, in the last 12 years, hurricanes have killed 332 Americans, and illegal immigrants have killed 7,000 Americans.

Throw in the more than 30,000 Americans who die every year from heroin and fentanyl brought in by Mexicans, and illegal immigration is a problem at least 100 times more urgent than Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and every other hurricane since 2005, combined.

(If we’re including U.S. territories and Hurricane Maria ends up killing another 100 people — current estimates are zero dead — illegal immigration is still 80 times worse than the last 12 years of deadly hurricanes. Of course, if we’re including territories, then we also must note that illegal immigration is especially disastrous for Puerto Ricans living in the U.S., in terms of crime and diminishing job prospects.)

There is no question but that illegal immigration dwarfs any other issue, not only in dead Americans, but also in welfare expenditures, taxes, lost jobs, police and prison expenditures, declining neighborhoods, ruined schools, overwhelmed hospitals, facial reconstruction surgeries and rape counseling services, to name a few costs.

We thought Trump understood this. We were counting on him to fight for us on the border — not with rallies, not with hats, not with tweets, but by building a wall. And yet, as of Wednesday this week, Trump will have been in office 243 days without having begun the wall. Imagine if Hurricanes Harvey and Irma had hit 243 days ago and all we’d gotten from the president were assurances that FEMA would be coming any day now — just as soon as he got the go-ahead from Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan! (Or worse, from Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.)

The more accurate analogy would be if Trump responded to the recent hurricanes not only by sending zero federal aid, but also by demanding that we dismantle FEMA and the National Hurricane Center. That’s exactly what he’s doing by proposing we respond to the crisis of 40 million illegal aliens in our country with an amnesty that will lure another 40 million across the border.

We hoped we wouldn’t have to spell it out. We thought Trump understood that this was an emergency. We believed he was capable of getting the job done. If he did understand, then 243 days ago, he would have sent the Navy Seabees and Army Corps of Engineers to start building the wall.

For most of the nation’s history, the primary job of the military — of which President Trump is the commander in chief — was building walls and fortresses on our borders. That’s why we have an Army Corps of Engineers. It may not seem like it from recent history, but the job of our military is to protect America’s borders — not Ukraine’s borders, not Jordan’s borders.

This is our one and only chance to get this done, and we’re losing the fight. While Trump dallies, last week California became a sanctuary state. Sixteen-year-old girls are taking lessons to learn to be safe drivers, but when they’re smashed into by drunk-driving illegal aliens, the state won’t tell ICE, and taxpayers will spend $40 million to pay for their defense.

The wall has to get built, and nothing else matters.

Trump will not be able to tweet his way out of not building the wall. He will not be able to change the subject by attacking the media or Crooked Hillary. He will not be able to get away with blaming Republicans in Congress.

Obviously, it suits the rest of the traitorous GOP — which ferociously opposed him — to pretend that Trump’s election had nothing to do with immigration.

I don’t know about a lot of things. I don’t know where women let you grab them if you’re a rich celebrity. I don’t know how to play a wind instrument. But when everyone else said Trump was a joke, I said, nope, he’s going to be our next president. If anyone is telling Trump that a “virtual wall,” drones, a conga line or a “Don’t Cross!” sign are as good as a wall, he can get his stock tips from them, but not his political advice.

If Trump doesn’t get that wall built, and fast, his base will be done with him and feed him to Robert Mueller.

It’s Starting: Dem Rep. Announces Insurrection, War in Streets Against Trump

Reported

URL of the original posting site: https://conservativetribune.com/dem-rep-insurrection-trump/?

President Donald Trump’s announcement this week that he would be ending the program for illegal aliens called “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” has sent liberals into overtime screaming and raving about how terrible it is. All of them have ignored the fact that the only reason Trump is ending the program is to give Congress a chance to pass a suitable replacement the right way. The outrage over Trump’s decision has grown by the day, and some of the rhetoric has bordered on disturbing.

Democrat Illinois Rep. Luis V. Gutiérrez released a video reacting to Trump’s decision on DACA where he implied that DACA recipients and their supporters should be turning to violence.

“I want to say something that so that we’re clear,” Gutierrez stated on the video. “Yes, we will be on the streets fighting.”

Over the past month we’ve seen what liberals fighting in the streets looks like, and it is quite violent and quite brutal. Gutiérrez is essentially calling for more violence in the United States.

“Yes, we will go to the courts to fight, and we will also insist that our friends and our allies in the Congress of the United States don’t sign a budget, don’t support a budget, don’t collaborate with Republicans and give us a budget unless there is a safe place legislatively, an avenue legislatively, that secures the future for the 800,000 DACA recipients,” he added.

“Let’s be clear. We are going to fight in the courts, we are going to fight in the streets, but also we are going to fight in the Congress of the United States to make sure legislatively we have a solution,” he concluded at the end of the video.

You can watch the promise of violence here:

Gutiérrez has been a particularly outspoken proponent of DACA. In August, he was actually arrested at a protest outside the White House demanding that Trump keep DACA in place.

The Washington Times also noted that Gutiérrez (who has not served in the military) claimed that White House chief of Staff John Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general, is a “disgrace” to the military because he didn’t stop Trump from ending DACA.

“General Kelly is a hypocrite who is a disgrace to the uniform he used to wear. He has no honor and should be drummed out of the White House along with the white supremacists and those enabling the president’s actions by ‘just following orders,” his statement read.

Rhetoric like that isn’t really going to help Gutiérrez convince people that his side is right. Calling for fighting in the streets and disparaging a decorated Marine general only makes sane Americans think you are off your rocker.

Trump Administration Rewards Miami For Reversing Its Sanctuary Policies

Reported

URL of the original posting site: http://www.westernjournalism.com/trump-administration-rewards-miami-reversing-sanctuary-policies/

Advertisement – story continues below

Miami-Dade County was told Friday by the Department of Justice that it will no longer be treated as a so-called sanctuary city after the county changed its policies in February surrounding detaining jailed inmates sought by federal authorities for deportation.

Miami Mayor Carlos Gimenez was notified by Alan Hanson, an acting assistant attorney general, that the DOJ found “no evidence that Miami Dade County is currently out of compliance,” clearing the way for the county to receive $481,347 in federal law enforcement funding in form of a Byrne JAG grant.

Miami was first classified as a sanctuary city by the Obama administration for its 2013 policy that authorized the county to begin denying “detainer” requests from Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The policy provided that the county would only hold inmates sought for deportation if they faced severe charges and if the federal government would reimburse the county for extra detention time.

But shortly after President Donald Trump was inaugurated in January, Gimenez dropped the policy, ordering county jails to comply with ICE detentions requests.

The Miami-Dade Commission voted 9-3 in February in support of the mayor’s policy to honor ICE detention requests.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced in July that the DOJ would impose new conditions on Byrne JAG grants, a leading source of federal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions.

“From now on, the Department will only provide Byrne JAG grants to cities and states that comply with federal law, allow federal immigration access to detention facilities, and provide 48 hours notice before they release an illegal alien wanted by federal authorities,” Sessions said in a statement announcing the new restrictions.

Miami-Dade’s decision to change its sanctuary status worked. The county received assurances from the DOJ Friday that it was in compliance and would receive a Byrne JAG Grant valued at $481,347, which will go towards enhancing the Miami Dade Police Department’s “intelligence gathering and police operations with investments in technology and specialized equipment,” according to Gimenez.

“This is good news,” said Gimenez’s communications director, Michael Hernández.

Hernández said the county is now requesting that the Trump administration remove Miami-Dade from the Obama administration’s original list of sanctuary cities.

“We’d like to have formal notification that we are no longer a sanctuary community,” Hernández said. “That request is being made.”

Miami-Dade is the only large jurisdiction in the country known to have complied with Trump’s request to crack down on its sanctuary city policy. Other sanctuary cities, such as Chicago, are calling foul at the Trump administration’s new restrictions surrounding Byrne JAG grants. Chicago was expected to receive $3.2 million in federal grants this year to purchase law enforcement equipment. But instead of complying, Chicago opted on Monday to file a lawsuit against the Trump administration to prevent it from enforcing the new policies.

“We are bringing this legal challenge because the rhetoric, the threats from this administration embodied in these new conditions imposed on unrelated public safety grants funds are breeding a culture and climate of fear,” said the senior legal adviser for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said Sunday it was “tragic” that Emanuel was more concerned about protecting illegal immigrants than he was by the high murder rate on the streets of Chicago.

“It’s especially tragic that the mayor is less concerned with that staggering figure than he is spending time and taxpayer money protecting criminal aliens and putting Chicago’s law enforcement at greater risk,” Flores said in a statement.

Chicago is the first city to challenge the Trump administration over its new restrictions surrounding Byrne JAG grants.

Border Patrol Union President Says Morale Among Border Patrol Agents At All-Time High

URL of the original posting site: http://www.westernjournalism.com/border-patrol-union-president-says-morale-among-border-patrol-agents-time-high/

Contending that President Donald Trump has done an excellent job of enforcing immigration law, the president of the National Border Patrol Council said Monday that morale has never been higher among Border Patrol agents.

Brandon Judd, the union’s president, said on Fox & Friends that the Border Patrol was not allowed to enforce immigration law over the last eight years because of the Obama administration’s catch-and release policies.

When asked to explain why the number of illegal border crossings has gone down so significantly under the Trump administration, Judd said that a message has been sent that “if you cross our borders illegally, you will be detained and you will be sent back.

“If you’re in the left, right or in the middle, you have to say this president has done exactly what he promised to do,” Judd said.

“We do have border security like what we expect to see,” he added.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported that the number of apprehensions has dropped to a six-year low in July, likely due to the president’s aggressive enforcement policies.

Regarding Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexican border, Judd said that the U.S. must “have to have a double-layered wall,” also known as a secondary fence.

“If you look at El Paso or San Diego where we did it right, illegal immigration has plummeted and if we do it right in strategic locations like what the president said, we’re going to control illegal immigration,” Judd said.

“I think it’s going to get done,” he said of the effort to build the border wall.

In March, U.S. Customs and Border Protection solicited proposals for two types of walls — one concrete barrier and another consisting of alternative materials which might include energy-producing solar panels.

U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement entered “phase two” of the process in June, announcing that it would construct up to eight prototypes for consideration.

While they await the wall, Judd said there is now a “vibe” and “energy” among Border Patrol officers that he has not seen during his 20-year career.

“We signed up to do a job and this president is allowing us to do that job,” he said.

Republicans look to fulfill Trump’s vow on ‘Kate’s Law’

Republicans are going on the offensive with “Kate’s Law,” seeking to fulfill one of President Trump’s most high-profile promises while putting Democrats on defense over illegal immigration. During the presidential campaign, Trump highlighted the murder of 32-year-old Kathryn Steinle, who was shot by a Mexican immigrant who had unlawfully re-entered the country after being convicted of a separate crime and deported.

Now, Republicans are working on legislation to impose a mandatory five-year minimum prison sentence for immigrants who have twice been charged with illegally re-entering the country or have prior aggravated felony convictions.

Language for Kate’s Law is tucked into a border security bill that Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) are working on, according to a draft copy reviewed by The Hill.

The bill, which Senate Democrats successfully blocked in 2015 and 2016, is a priority for Trump.A May 2 tweet from Rabbi Shmuley Boteach shows him and White House strategist Stephen Bannon standing in front of a whiteboard with Bannon’s to-do list. The words “pass ‘Kate’s law’” are visible under the header “Pledges on Immigration.”

The White House did not respond to a request for comment on the Republican proposal.

In addition to Kate’s Law, the larger border security bill includes provisions to add 10,000 detention beds each year for the next four years, increase the number of border patrol agents from 21,000 to 26,370 and require U.S. attorneys to prosecute people who are caught within 100 miles of crossing the southern border.

Greg Chen, director of government relations at the American Immigration Lawyers Association, said Cornyn and McCaul’s bill goes “hand in hand” with Trump’s overall mass deportation plan

“It’s a one-size-fits-all justice that is going to produce sentences that don’t fit the person’s circumstances or facts of life,” Chen said. “People who have lived here a long time may go to visit family in Mexico and then get picked up on the way back in.”

While Republicans appear to be pushing the measure in the name of national security, immigration advocates claim Democrats are on strong footing to once again oppose the proposal. Philip Wolgin, managing director for the immigration policy team at the liberal Center for American Progress, claims Trump’s tougher stance on immigration enforcement has actually made communities more dangerous because fewer immigrants are willing to report rape, sexual assault and crimes to police.

“It’s laughable you could claim this is about national security or community safety,” he said.

A March McClatchy-Marist survey found that 80 percent of Americans favor providing a way for undocumented immigrants to gain legal U.S. citizenship if they meet certain criteria.

The poll found that opinion to be bipartisan, with 69 percent of Republicans saying they would favor such a move if undocumented immigrants learn English, pay fines and have jobs that pay taxes.

In a statement to The Hill, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.), who chairs the Immigration Taskforce of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, said Cornyn has forged a partnership with GOP opponents of legal immigration to help thwart immigration reforms that would improve border security and increase overall legality and accountability.

“I’m sure whatever he and Rep. McCaul come up with will be popular with the White House and Trump’s base, but the problem they face is that American voters think we need more practical solutions than walls and round-ups,” he said.

Ira Mehlman, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group that supports Kate’s Law, said there has to be more of a deterrent for people who re-enter the country illegally.

“If people understand [that] if they get caught they might go to prison, then they might not try to come back,” he said. “We might not have as many people going to prison because the threat of getting caught is enough to stop them from coming in the first place.”

Mehlman said illegal border crossings are already down under Trump, noting that the first brick of his much-touted proposed border wall has yet to be laid.

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly reported in February that unauthorized border crossings were down 40 percent following Trump’s first full month in office.

“Illegal aliens are rational people, and they come when they don’t think we are enforcing our laws,” Mehlman said. “It’s our policies that have been irrational up until fairly recently.”

Lynn Tramonte, deputy director of the liberal America’s Voice, wonders if Cornyn and McCaul included Kate’s Law to get groups supportive of reduced immigration to back their border bill.

“The problem is, the more radical they make their bill, the less likely it is to pass,” she said in a statement to The Hill. “Our immigration laws are already harsh and extreme. They already bend toward deportation over family unification.”

At some point, Tramonte said, reasonable minds in the Senate will be forced to ask a key question: Do we really need more punishing immigration laws?

“If Cornyn and McCaul wanted to work on real solutions, they would work on reform that includes a path to citizenship for aspiring Americans,” she said. “That’s the type of change in law that would actually move this country forward.”

Hey GOP! Use your mandate and build the damn wall

For the past 10 years, the Republican Party has been campaigning on a whole host of conservative issues. Central among them are repealing Obamacare and building a border wall before any immigration reform is even considered. Republicans have already capitulated on the repeal of Obamacare and are now on the precipice of capitulating on the border wall. It’s time for Republicans to stop being afraid of Democrats and do what the American people elected them to do.

Central to the successful presidential campaign of Donald Trump was his promise to build a wall. It was a part of virtually every single one of his well-attended rallies. If you’ve forgotten, take a quick trip down memory lane.

Why then is Trump not fighting to ensure he receives funds to start construction on the wall as soon as possible? Here’s today’s news from the Washington Post.

But with a Friday deadline looming to pass a new spending bill, the Trump administration projected confidence that a shutdown would be avoided. In the face of fierce Democratic opposition to funding the wall’s construction, White House officials signaled Monday that the president may be open to an agreement that includes money for border security if not specifically for a wall, with an emphasis on technology and border agents rather than a structure.

Trump showed even more flexibility Monday afternoon, telling conservative journalists in a private meeting that he was open to delaying funding for wall construction until September, a White House official confirmed.

Trump, the deal maker, should know that once you give an adversary an inch, they’ll take a mile. It is time for Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell to step up and give the American people what their party promised — a border wall. Not to mention the repeal of Obamacare and a whole host of other promises.

The GOP majority should not be afraid of the Democrat minority. The American people in record numbers reject Democrat ideology. Over the weekend, an ABC News/ Washington Post poll was released showing that 67 percent of American voters say that Democrats are “out of touch” with the concerns of the American people. That number is up 19 percent from a 2014 poll that asked the same question.

Over the past three years, as the Democratic Party has become more obstructionist and radical, the American people have increasingly rejected its ideology. Yes, the numbers for the GOP and Trump are high as well, but on the GOP side, their numbers have actually been improving.

The majority of people, in large swaths of this country — save California — voted for Republicans up and down their ballots last fall. Central to this vote was a promise to take border security seriously and, yes, to “build that wall.”

It is time for the GOP to live up to its promises and fight to get it done.

This Week’s Ann Coulter Letter: Your Choice: A Green America Or A Brown America

Commentary by  Ann Coulter

URL of the original posting site: http://humanevents.com/2017/04/19/your-choice-a-green-america-or-a-brown-america/

In celebration of Earth Day this Saturday, let’s review how the Sierra Club sold its soul and screwed the Earth for a $100 million donation. They must hate themselves for it, so why shouldn’t we hate them, too?

After Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 immigration act began dumping millions of Third-Worlders on the country, the Sierra Club talked of little else besides reducing immigration. In 1970, the club adopted a resolution complaining that the country’s growing population was polluting the “air, water and land” — to the point that “our very survival (is) threatened.”

In 1978, the Sierra Club adopted a resolution urging Congress to “conduct a thorough examination of U.S. immigration laws,” noting that the United States, Canada and Australia were the only countries admitting “more than a handful of permanent immigrants.”

In 1980, the club dropped its promotion of birth control, in order to focus on immigration. “It is obvious,” the club said, “that the numbers of immigrants the United States accepts affects our population size and growth rate,” even more than “the number of children per family.”

In 1989, the club’s Population Report expressly called for reducing the number of immigrants.

In 1990, the club’s grassroots leaders voted overwhelmingly to launch a major national campaign on the immigration problem.

Even people who don’t live in yurts can’t help but notice the environmental damage being done by hundreds of thousands of Latin Americans clamoring across the border every year, setting fires, dumping litter, spray-painting gang signs in our parks and defacing ancient Indian petroglyphs.

The problem isn’t just the number of people traipsing through our wilderness areas; it’s that primitive societies have no concept of “litter.” That’s a quirk of prosperous societies. The damage to our parks shows these cultural differences.

Writing in an environmental journal at New York University, Rosa P. Oakes described the “reprehensible” damage being done to “towering cactus, Joshua trees, flowering cactus varieties, colorful wildflowers and rock formations” by illegals. With accompanying photos, she noted that the immigrants’ litter included “abandoned vehicles … used needles, drug paraphernalia, plastic grocery bags, paper products, empty water containers, blankets, clothing, used disposable diapers, among other things.”

The Mexican cultural trait of littering is apparently well known to everyone — except American journalists.

As usual, when it comes to anything that reflects negatively on Third World immigrants, you have to be Agatha Christie to get at the truth. If the media can hide Hispanic child rape, it’s child’s play for them to ignore the Hispanic littering problem.

The best way to find out about garbage being dumped all over by our vibrant recent immigrants is to look at local news stories from any town that contains a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Here are three from last year:

Local politicians in heavily Hispanic Allentown, Pennsylvania, wanted to suck up to their constituents by renaming Seventh Street “Calle Siete.” Then it turned out that the Hispanic merchants on “Calle Siete” had no interest in this idea. Their No. 1 issue? Litter.

Dorcas Derivera, an immigrant from Guatemala, said in perfect English that if politicians wanted to do something useful, they would deal with the litter problem on Seventh Street, which she said she must pick up from the sidewalk before clients arrive.

“It’s embarrassing,” she told a local newspaper. “How am I going to do business?”

Also last year, in a classic MSM Hide-the-Mexican story, there were media reports of “racist” graffiti targeting “Hispanics and African-Americans” in San Leandro, California’s Marina Park. Obviously, graffiti directed at “Hispanics and African-Americans” could only have been left by one of those white supremacist gangs so prevalent on “Law and Order”!

Nope. It was Mexicans, again: The Nortenos, a Mexican gang. By “Hispanics,” the media meant “Hispanics other than the ones doing the graffiti.”

Then last October, the parks and recreation department in Decatur, Alabama, was again forced to remove goals from the soccer field because of the mountains of garbage routinely left behind. In the past decade, the soccer games had become “an increasingly popular social event among the Hispanic community.”

Would any of this be of interest to an alleged environmental group? It used to be — until the early 2000s. That was when the Sierra Club was given $100 million by hedge fund billionaire David Gelbaum in exchange for never opposing immigration again. The club said, How dare you ask us to abandon our principles for filthy lucre!

Just kidding! It said, SURE! Did you bring the check?

Mass Third World immigration is a triple whammy for the environment because:

1) Millions more people are tromping through our country;

2) The new people do not share Americans’ love of nature and cleanliness; and

3) We’re not allowed to criticize them.

One big advantage of taking white Western European immigrants is that we’re permitted to complain about their grating cultural habits without being accused of “racism.” (Also, there aren’t that many of them.)

The Sierra Club didn’t anticipate the PC reasons for preferring non-Third World immigrants, but simply wanted to stop so many people pouring into our country and stepping on the flowers. Which is why the club used to be nearly monomaniacally focused on reducing immigration.

By now, it’s been a quarter-century since the Sierra Club cared about the environment. As is the fate of most groups that stick around long enough, today it’s just another left-wing, hate-America interest group. Unfortunately, among the things the Sierra Club hates about America are its rivers, mountains, hiking trails, parks and wildlife.

Give me your tired, your poor, your empties and pizza boxes, your Cheetos bags, your soiled diapers and abandoned couches …

Why the Maryland Rape Case Is a National Issue, According to One Lawmaker

waving flagdisclaimerReported by Sharyl Attkisson / / April 11, 2017

I spoke with Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, about why he views the case as one of national importance.

Attkisson: What is the basis for your concern about what is really a local case?

Sen. Ron Johnson: Well, it’s a local case caused by federal government policy in terms of not enforcing immigration laws. And immigration laws are creating incentives for children to come in from Central America, but let’s also take a look at the reality of this. Of unaccompanied children, two-thirds are older than 15 years old. Two-thirds are males. Only 18 percent are less than 12 years old, so the unaccompanied children really aren’t children, they’re young males, some of them are young men.

In this case, you had a 17- and 18-year-old … one from El Salvador, one from Honduras, who brutally and repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl because they were in ninth grade with her. The fact is, that once you get here as an unaccompanied child–and that’s any, I guess unless you’re 18, you’re a child–you get to stay here. You get a notice to appear, you don’t even set a court date, those types of tragedies, that tragedy with that 14-year-old girl could have been prevented if we really enforced our laws and if we end these incentives for illegal immigration.living nextdoor to you

Attkisson: The rapes at this point are just an allegation, obviously there will be a court process for this.

Sen. Johnson: Yes.

Attkisson: And one of the lawyers, I believe, said that his client had a consensual meeting in the bathroom with the young girl.

Sen. Johnson: A 17-year-old, 18-year-old young man does not have consensual sex with a 14-year-old girl in ninth grade. I’m sorry, that is not a defense.

Attkisson: What are some of the questions that you’ve posed?

Sen. Johnson: Well, I want the alien file … One of them is a majority age, and so we can get more information on that individual. I want to know exactly what ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement], what DHS [the Department of Homeland Security], Customs and Border Protection, anybody who had contact with this individual, what happened? I mean how did this individual end up in ninth grade in Rockville, Maryland, where he could … perpetrate this brutal crime?

Attkisson: In the end, if people look at this case and say, ‘You can’t punish the honest illegal immigrants who come here and need to be in school while their case is being adjudicated just because there are some bad ones.’ What would you say?

Sen. Johnson: I don’t want to punish people who are here innocently, or legally. But the fact of the matter is we have got to take a look at our laws that incentivize– for example, people spend a year’s worth of their salaries in Central America and send their daughters on a very dangerous journey. Some of them don’t get here in time. Some of them get caught up in human trafficking. They get sold as sex slaves. A lot of really bad things happen because the incentives we create in our law.

So, we have to take a look at our law and those incentives, and our goal should be to stop the flow. We’ve just continued to have the surge. Last year was almost as high as the crisis year of 2014, it just wasn’t making headlines and so it just [went] unnoticed, so we’ve become very good at apprehending, processing, and dispersing, and we dispersed two young men, 17- and 18-year-olds into Rockville, Maryland, where they brutally, repeatedly raped a 14-year-old girl. We need to understand that reality, and we have to end that.

I know there are crimes committed by U.S. citizens and people in this country legally, but you know we can prevent some of these other[s]. It’s small comfort to a widow or a 14-year-old girl to say, ‘Well, other people commit crimes, too.’  We should try and address what we can address and we should end this …  lax enforcement. And this administration is definitely committed to doing so.kick-em-out-of-office

Illegal Immigrant Charged With Voter Fraud

A Nigerian citizen was indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday for allegedly illegally reentering the U.S. after being deported and subsequently committing both tax and voter fraud.

The federal indictment says that Kevin Kunlay Williams voted in both the 2012 and 2016 presidential elections. Williams was deported from the U.S. in 1995, and illegally returned in 1999. The Nigerian illegal immigrant allegedly became registered to vote in 2012 in local, state and federal elections by claiming he was a U.S. citizen.

He allegedly stole public school employees’ identification information and used it to file more than 2000 false tax returns, seeking $12 million in refunds. The Nigerian illegal immigrant also allegedly stole Electronic Filing Identification Numbers (EFINs), which allowed him to print refund checks to send to the IRS.

Williams, a St. Louis resident, also allegedly owned an illegal weapon. He faces charges of mail fraud, aggravated identity theft, voter fraud, illegal reentry, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. His indictment comes more than a month after President Trump alleged massive voter fraud in the presidential election.

Immigration Judges Dispatched to 12 U.S. Cities to Speed Deportations

Reported by Warner Todd Huston | 19 Mar 2017

URL of the original posting site: http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/03/19/immigration-judges-dispatched-12-u-s-cities-speed-deportations/

Cities the DOJ want to staff up includes New York; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; San Francisco; Baltimore, Bloomington, Minnesota; El Paso, Texas; Harlingen, Texas; Imperial, California; Omaha, Nebraska, and Phoenix, Arizona, the news service says.

This isn’t the first move to beef up immigration judge staff. Early in March the Trump administration also began sending judges to immigrant detention centers to speed up services.

The initial plan came on the heels of a Department of Homeland Security memo that requested the Trump administration allow federal immigration courts to use “expedited deportation proceedings” for any illegal immigrants living in the U.S. for two years or less. The process is currently limited to those only living in the U.S. for up to two weeks.

According to data provided by the Justice Department’s Executive Office of Immigration Review, there are up to 18,013 pending immigration cases in the cities targeted by the DOJ plan. The plan serves as another plank in President Trump’s promise to step up the deportations that ground to a halt during the last years of the Obama administration. It also marks a shift from Obama’s practice of deporting only illegals convicted of serious crimes — and even many of those were never deported.

Critics of the plan claim that “reshuffling” the judges will only cause a backlog at the courts that lost one of their judges.

Oroville Dam: Five workers fired for posting photos to social media

Damaged spillway at the Oroville Dam. (Facebook)

Damaged spillway at the Oroville Dam. (Facebook)

Things are going from bad to worse at California’s battered Oroville Dam. As if the severely damaged spillway wasn’t enough of a danger, the Sacramento Bee is reporting that authorities are pumping out 60,000 cubic feet of water per second (cfs). Unfortunately, the inflow of water due to the deluge of rain into the Oroville Lake just spiked at roughly 91,000 cfs. And things in the near future don’t look much better.picture3

Citing a meteorological event known as an “atmospheric river” (AR), Pacific Standard Magazine is citing that one of those very same weather scenarios is headed straight for the mountains of Central California.

According to the American Meteorological Society, an atmospheric river is typically thousands of miles long, while a mere few hundreds of yards wide. A single AR is capable of carrying a greater flux of water than the Amazon River, the largest river on the planet.

Acting much like a baseball field backstop, the tons of water that constitute an AR will slam into the Sierras, then the very same water will flow back towards the coast, but instead of making it to the Pacific, the wet stuff will fill the hundreds of already swollen dams and reservoirs much like the Oroville Dam.

As also reported by Pacific Standard Magazine;

Heavy rains will continue on Tuesday, at which point serious problems could begin to emerge. The fragile Oroville Dam will again be tested, but dozens of other dams — like the one at Don Pedro Reservoir near Modesto — are also nearing capacity statewide and planning emergency contingencies.

By late Tuesday, the San Joaquin River — the main hydrologic thoroughfare of the vast Central Valley — is expected to exceed a level not seen since 1997, and then keep rising the rest of the week. The river is already in “danger” stage — the stage above flood stage when critical levees could begin to become compromised.picture2

But here’s where things start to get a bit strange.

While the State of California is soothing frayed nerves by telling the world (cited above by the Sac Bee) that the water level at the Oroville Lake may be at 850 feet, all is well. After all, the Oroville Dam tops out at 900 feet.

Yet just a few short days ago the Los Angeles Times reported that “the Federal Aviation Administration has issued a temporary ban on flights around the Oroville Dam to allow emergency aircraft to operate safely.”

With both aircraft and drones banned until May 17, the government is claiming the ban is necessary due to work crews continuing “to conduct aerial surveys of the erosion on the emergency spillway.”words-of-a-leftist-propagandist

Speaking of erosion on the emergency spillway, San Francisco’s KRON published a rather terse report that five contract workers at the dam have been fired for posting unauthorized photos of the virtually destroyed spillway on social media;

Five Oroville Dam workers have been fired for violating a contract by putting pictures of the dam on social media.

The Department of Water Resources hires a contractor to work on the dam. The contractor hired was Syblon Reid.

This contractor has a strict “No social media, no photos policy” at every site they work on.

Some of the employees did not abide by their contract and posted pictures of the Oroville Dam emergency spillway online which is why five people were released.

As far as the state government is concerned, The Atlantic magazine reports that the maintenance and inspection records of the dam are spotty at best, Third World-ish at worst.

Provided the dam doesn’t burst, thusly threatening the lives of up to 200,000 Californians,  the cost of repairs is estimated at between $100 million to $200 million. Once it’s dry enough to begin work, that is.

In the meantime, Gov. Jerry Brown has pumped $64 billion in a high speed rail system that opponents have dubbed a boondoggle that is in reality “the train to nowhere.”

The California State Senate has also passed a slew of bills sent to the governor for signature that would place the California taxpayers on the hook to protect the estimated 2.4 million illegal aliens residing in the Golden State.partyof-deceit-spin-and-lies

Sheriff David Clarke Cracks Down on Illegal Immigration, Liberals Freak Out

waving flag

Sheriff David Clarke

What a world. Apparently, liberals have become so deranged that they now protest when the law enforcement officers they hire… try to enforce the law. I’m not kidding.

The latest example of this precious bit of liberal insanity comes to us from Milwaukee County where the brilliant (and very popular) Sheriff, David Clarke, was recently forced to face down a liberal protest after announcing that his officers would enforce our nation’s laws.

Here’s what started the whole mess:

AP reporter inquiry:
Does Sheriff Clarke plan to enroll the sheriff’s office into the portion of the 287G program in which local law enforcement officers will be deputized by the federal government to function as immigration officers, helping with investigations and the detention and apprehension of immigrants?

Statement from Sheriff Clarke:
Yes I will. President Trump made it clear with his Executive Order on enforcement of our immigration laws. No more catch and release of criminal illegal aliens. I will assign as many deputies to this initiative as I can. It is a public safety priority. I will not have a Kate Steinle-type incident happen in Milwaukee County. I am obligated to protect people from criminal illegal aliens as I am from all criminal predators.  I cannot be more clear on this.

So, first the question – ‘Does Sheriff Clarke plan to take part in the President’s immigration enforcement program?’ Then the answer, ‘Yes.’

Screen Shot 2017-02-14 at 5.11.57 PM

This simple response, clearly stating that, of course, the Sheriff would abide by the law, led to thousands of protesters marching on the streets in Wisconsin.

Thousands are marching in Milwaukee from Voces de la Frontera headquarters in Walker’s Point to downtown Milwaukee for Day Without Latinos, Immigrants and Refugees.

Local organizers have asked that as many immigrants as possible take part with a direct message they want to deliver to Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke. Hundreds of immigrants from across the state are taking off from work and school to participate in the event…

The march is also part of the bigger debate on the immigration policies of President Trump.picture1

CBS 58

For his part, Sheriff Clarke told the marchers that he would not be able to attend their rally due to a previous work engagement.

“Please accept my regrets. I will be working with agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement helping them identify criminal illegal aliens and therefore cannot attend your rally being held for me.”ATTA BOY

Sheriff Clarke then responded more seriously, and directly to the complaints of liberal anti-border globalists.

The U.S. is a sovereign nation with borders that have to be enforced and protected. According to the US Constitution, the CONGRESS has the authority to set lawful immigration rules, not a mayor, a governor, a city council or county board. Nobody has a RIGHT to come to the U.S.amen

You can however make a REQUEST to come here through our immigration service.

The U.S. has an interest in controlling its borders for many reasons, chief among them are for 1) national and domestic security reasons, 2) to prevent the spread of infectious diseases e.g. H1N1 flu, Ebola, and 3) to control the number of another failed nation’s refugees which would overwhelm America’s limited public services.

There must be a zero tolerance for allowing people to illegally enter this country and establish permanent residency.

We finally have a President who has a sense of urgency about faithfully defending our borders and I am going to help as outlined under an Executive order for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to partner with local law enforcement.ATTA BOY

Every American should be grateful that we still have brave men and women like Sheriff Clarke fighting to uphold the Constitution and defend the rule of law. We need more leaders like this who will do what is right, no matter how unpopular doing right becomes.

Democrats Demanding that Immigration Officials Stop Deporting Illegals Convicted of Violent Crimes

waving flagBy Warner Todd Huston February 13, 2017

Illegal Immigration raids Police ICE

illegalalienvoters-300x300Democrats are so in the tank for open borders and the importation of illegal aliens that they are even working themselves into a froth to protest the deportation of illegals convicted of violent crimes against Americans.

Left-wingers are furious this week over the recent increase in deportations initiated by the newly ensconced Donald J. Trump administration. They were mollified somewhat over the last four years by Obama’s increasingly lower number of deported illegal aliens, but now that Trump is in charge, more attention is being brought (properly so) to the job of deportation being ignored by the Immigration department through most of Obama’s 8-year reign of terror on the nation.

First some numbers. While it is difficult to get hard and fast numbers a CNN report from 2015 said there are nearly 75,000 people in U.S. prisons who are not legal citizens. Also at that time authorities had issued detainer requests for over a million illegals (these are requests issued to hold an illegal for deportation). And during Obama’s reign from 2010 to 2014 at least 121 illegals were released from immigration only to end up arrested for murdering a U.S. citizen. Ten years ago, another report found that 12 Americans are murdered by an illegal alien every day.picture2

As you can see from these numbers, it would seem Americans are in far more danger from illegal aliens than from Muslim terrorists. Despite this obvious danger to Americans, in his last term in office President Obama refused to deport a whopping 820,000 criminally convicted illegal aliens and simply released them right back into the U.S. population to prey on all of us. Of that 820,000 illegals, fully 690,000 had serious convictions such as drunk driving, drug dealing, rape, and murder.illegal-immigration-giant

Thanks to Obama’s hands off, open door policy, Jessica Vaughan, the policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies, testified that, “Established gangs have been able to transfer an unknown number of experienced foot soldiers from Central America to help colonize new criminal territory in the United States.”

Now we have the age of Trump just fairly beginning and our immigration officials are finally not being held back by Obama’s anti-American edicts. One of the first things Trump did was dump Obama’s very unpopular U.S. Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan. Members of the border patrol hated this guy because he repeatedly said he supported amnesty (then later denied it) and was 100 percent in favor of Obama’s destructive immigration policies. Only days after he took the oath of office, Trump told Morgan to resign.

Not long after Morgan left his post, Trump also fired Daniel Ragsdale, Obama’s director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. On January 30 the ICE director was replaced by Trump appointee Thomas D. Homan. By the second week of February, the number of deportations began to move upward instead of downward as they have been for the last five years… and the liberals are screaming bloody murder.

This weekend a mass protest against Trump’s new deportation policy sprung up in New York City. For a change the New York Police Department didn’t treat these un-American disruptors with kid gloves and the ones blocking the road ways were slammed to the ground and arrested. One protester said Trump’s new deportation regimen is meant as a “fear tactic.”any-more-questions

Ask Kate Steinle’s family where the fear is coming from after she was murdered by an illegal alien in “sanctuary city” San Francisco.

Naturally there were violent, hate-filled signs — many professionally printed to prove the protest is not a spontaneous, true reflection of sentiment — to go along with this anti-American protest…

The Trump administration, of course, rightfully notes that deporting these criminal aliens saves lives.

According to the Washington Examiner, Stephen Miller, the president’s policy director, said, “the cases that I’m familiar with…have to do with removing criminal aliens, individuals who have criminal charges or convictions against them. And that’s what’s been taking place all across the country. And the effect of that is going to be saving many American lives, American property and American safety.”

“The bottom line is this: in the calculation between open borders and saving American lives, it is the easiest choice we will ever have to make,” Miller added on Face the Nation on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Trump’s policies are also finding favor among the law enforcement community and the wild, unsupportable claims by liberals are being lampooned. Recently sheriffs from around the country voiced ridicule of claims by Democrats that these illegal, lawbreaking “sanctuary cities” actually help illegals feel comfortable enough to report crimes to local police. Many sheriffs find the claim absurd.

“National Sheriffs’ Association executive director Jonathan Thompson, who represents a wide geographical range of law enforcement officers, said he has never seen any statistics indicating that illegal immigrants are a significant source of information for police,” the Washington Examiner reported.

“I’ve not even seen anecdotal evidence,” Thompson insisted. “The sad thing is that [the Democratic claim] suggests that people here are aware of criminal activity and are not reporting it. We have to give them specific dispensation so that they’re reporting crimes? … I find the irony thicker than anything I can cut with a knife, that somebody here illegally is going to report a crime.”

“It’s a whisper campaign. You tell a lie once it goes around the world in 20 seconds,” Thompson concluded. “I think it makes a nice soundbite. It’s nice for some in law enforcement who want to believe that all criminal aliens want to support local law enforcement. That may be true, but I don’t know of any statistics … that suggest that this is a wealth or reserve ocean of confidential informants.”

The Examiner found several other sheriffs who thought the left’s claims were absurd, as well.

We are seeing the federal government swing back in the favor of making America great again. Let us hope liberals prove unable to put a hitch in this drive.

Mexico Worried about Economic Impact of Illegal Immigrants Deported from the U.S.

waving flagAuthored By Onan Coca February 11, 2017

illegal-immigrants

Honestly, should this tell you everything you need to know about the dangers of illegal immigration?

Consider the havoc wreaked by the arrival of 11 million unexpected people –  the loss of jobs from our unskilled labor market, and the burden to our already crippled welfare system. The enormity of the impact is very difficult to measure, but we know it can be devastating. Which is why Mexico is terrified that the Trump administration is about to hasten the return of thousands of Mexican nationals back to their homeland.AWWW Poor Baby

On Thursday, an illegal immigrant and felon was deported back to Mexico amid a flurry of protests. The deportation was “run of the mill” and had been planned for years, nonetheless when it finally happened the woman’s community erupted in anger. They said it was unjust, unfair, and unAmerican. But the truth is that as a nation of laws, it was as American as it could have been. Now, Mexico is warning their citizens living illegally in the United States to be careful and to keep an eye out for the American authorities.

Mexico warned its citizens living in the United States on Friday to “take precautions” and remain in contact with consular officials a day after the deportation of an undocumented mother following a routine visit with US immigration authorities.

Guadalupe Garcia de Rayos, 35, was deported Thursday after she checked in with the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Phoenix a day earlier.

Imagine the consternation, anger, and resentment that would accompany President Trump saying something similar to our citizens. “Hey Americans, be careful when you break the law in Canada. They might prosecute you… oh, but if you’re worried, keep in touch with us and we’ll tell you how to avoid getting caught.” An announcement like that from the Trump administration would cause mass chaos and the media would (rightly) crucify him for saying it. But when Mexico says it… no big deal. In fact, the media eats it up and regurgitates it for everyone to hear.Illegal Immigration Giant

Meanwhile, the real reason that Mexico is so upset about the possibility of mass deportations is being revealed by local news stations along the border. In a recent report on KRGV 5 TV from Texas, we learn that officials in Mexico are terrified about what the “influx” of their own citizens might mean for their economy. (No duh.)

Tamaulipas President of the Chamber of Commerce, Julio Cesar Almanza Armas, said that neither Mexico, nor the cities and towns along the border, are prepared to deal with the repatriation of Mexican citizens. “We aren’t ready for it, but it has to be done. I know that they are already working on it, the local, state and federal government and the cities along the border,” Armas said. Armas went on to say that the economy would be dealt a severe blow if the United States moved forward with mass deportations.AWWW Poor Baby

Ann Coulter Letter: A Maniac Is Running Our Foreign Policy! (It’s Not Trump)

waving flagCommentary by  Ann Coulter  |

URL of the original posting site: http://humanevents.com/2017/02/08/a-maniac-is-running-our-foreign-policy-its-not-trump/

If only we were able to deport citizens, we could use Trump’s new policy of excluding those who are “hostile” toward our country to get rid of Judge James Robart. Judge Robart’s veto of Trump’s travel ban notwithstanding, there is not the slightest question but that the president, in his sole discretion, can choose to admit or exclude any foreigners he likes, based on “the interests of the United States.”9th-circuit-court-of-appeals-robart

The Clinton administration used the executive branch’s broad power over immigration to send a 6-year-old boy back to a communist dictatorship. The courts were completely powerless to stop him.

As explained by the federal appellate court that ruled on Elian Gonzalez’s asylum application: “It is the duty of the Congress and of the executive branch to exercise political will,” and “in no context is the executive branch entitled to more deference than in the context of foreign affairs,” which includes immigration.

The court acknowledged that Elian might well be subjected to “re-education,” “communist indoctrination” and “political manipulation.” (Then again, so would enrolling him at Sidwell Friends.) It didn’t matter! Sending little boys back to communist dictatorships was the policy of the Clinton administration.

The Obama administration’s immigration policy was to ensure that millions of poverty-stricken foreigners would come here and help turn our country into a Mexican version of Pakistan. When Arizona merely tried to enforce the federal immigration laws being ignored by the Obama administration, the entire media erupted in rage at this incursion into the majestic power of the president over immigration. They said it was like living in Nazi Germany!press-love-600-la

The most reviled section of the act, melodramatically called the “Papers Please” law, was upheld by the Supreme Court. But the other parts, allowing state officials to enforce federal immigration laws, were ruled unconstitutional. A president’s policy choice to ignore immigration laws supersedes a state’s right to enforce them.

The court conceded that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens were arrested in Arizona each year, that they were responsible for “a disproportionate share of serious crime,” and that illegals constituted nearly 6 percent of Arizona’s population.

But Arizona was powerless to enforce laws on the books — if those laws happened to be about immigration. The president’s authority over immigration is absolute and exclusive, as part of his authority over foreign policy.

To review:

— When the president’s immigration policy is to promote international communism: The president wins.

— When the president’s immigration policy is to transform America into a different country: The president wins.

But when the president’s immigration policy is to protect Americans: Some piss-ant judge announces that his authority exceeds that of the president.

This is exactly what I warned you about in Adios, America: The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole. Nothing Trump does will be met with such massive resistance as his immigration policies.

The left used to attack America by spying for Stalin, aiding our enemies, murdering cops and blowing up buildings. But, then liberals realized, it’s so much more effective to just do away with America altogether! Teddy Kennedy gave them their chance with the 1965 immigration act. Since then, we’ve been taking in more than a million immigrants a year, 90 percent from comically primitive cultures. They like the welfare, but have very little interest in adopting the rest of our culture.illegalalienvoters-300x300

In many parts of the country, you’re already not living in America. Just a few more years, and the transformation will be complete. There will be a North American landmass known as “the United States,” but it won’t be our country. The only thing that stands between America and oblivion is a total immigration moratorium. We are well past the point of quick fixes — as Judge Robart’s delusional ruling proves.

The judiciary, both political parties, the media, Hollywood, corporate America and approximately 1 million lobbying groups are all working frantically to bring the hardest cases to our shores. Left-wing traitors, who used to honeymoon in Cuba and fight with peasant revolutionaries in Peru, toil away, late into the night, to ensure that genocidal Rwandans can move to America and immediately start collecting food stamps, Medicaid and Social Security.

No matter how clearly laws are written, government bureaucrats connive to import people from countries that a majority of Americans would not want to visit, much less become. Federal judges issue lunatic rulings to ensure that there will never be a pause in the transformation of America.

Congress could write laws requiring immigrants to pay taxes, learn English, forgo welfare and have good moral character. It could write laws giving the president authority to exclude aliens in the public interest. Except it already has. Those laws were swept away by INS officials, federal judges and Democratic administrations — under ferocious pressure from America-hating, left-wing groups.

The country will not be safe until the following outfits are out of business:

The ACLU’s Immigrants’ Rights Project;

the National Immigration Forum;

the National Immigration Law Center;

the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild;

the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights;

the Office of Migration and Refugee Services; the American Immigration Law Foundation;

the American Immigration Lawyers Association;

the Border Information and Outreach Service;

Atlas:

DIY;

the Catholic Legal Immigration Network;

the Clearinghouse for Immigrant Education;

the Farmworker Justice Fund;

Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees;

the Immigrant Legal Resource Center;

the International Center for Migration, Ethnicity and Citizenship;

the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force;

the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service;

the National Association for Bilingual Education;

the National Clearinghouse on Agricultural Guest Worker Issues;

the National Coalition for Dignity and Amnesty for Undocumented Immigrants;

the National Coalition for Haitian Rights;

the National Council of La Raza;

and the National Farm Worker Ministry.marxist-socialist-leftist-tyranny-hate-groups

And that’s only a small fraction of the anti-American immigration groups assiduously dragging the Third World to our shores — while you were busy working.

Look at that list — look at Judge Robart’s ruling! — and ask yourself: Is it possible that anything short of a total immigration moratorium can save this country? Only when there is no immigration to bellyache about will these nuts be forced to think of a new way to destroy America.

Does Jesus Believe in Immigration Restrictions? Absolutely

In the kingdom of the age to come, documentation is required, a profession of allegiance is required, the borders are patrolled, and intruders are expelled.

– Bryan Fischer; Host of “Focal Point” Connect FollowMore Articles

We have heard endless bloviation from media types who have spent their entire journalistic careers in open hostility to Christianity suddenly pontificating about how un-Christian it is to build walls and restrict immigration to the United States. Why, we’re told, that’s not something Jesus would do! He himself was a refugee! How can you call yourself a Christian and not believe in letting anybody and everybody in? That’s what Jesus would do!

Now we know that people who think and talk like this are wrong. When Jesus came to Earth, he did not come as a immigrationrefugee. He came as the rightful king, intent on reclaiming what had been stolen from him by the Prince of Darkness. When his parents took him to Egypt as a child, they didn’t go as refugees but as exiles who returned to their homeland as soon as they could. When his parents took him to Bethlehem, they didn’t go as refugees, they went as hard-working taxpayers doing their civic duty.

Biblically we know that there is a legitimate place for walls, for physical barriers designed for protection. God sent Nehemiah to Jerusalem to build one around the city to keep the bad guys out. We know that immigration bans under the right circumstances are appropriate, for God permanently banned immigration from the neighboring nations of Ammon and Moab because of their historic and implacable hostility to Israel.

But we know that building walls and using immigration restrictions are legitimate policies because Jesus will use them in his own kingdom. (I am indebted to my good friend Jeff Reed for this idea, but don’t blame him for anything in what follows that you don’t like. That’s on me.)

The Scriptures tell us that the eternal city of his coming kingdom will be surrounded by “a great high wall with twelve gates” (Revelation 21:12), each guarded by an angel so undocumented intruders cannot enter. Identification papers will be scrutinized carefully before anyone is allowed to enter through one of the great big beautiful doors that are built in this wall that surrounds the city. In John’s vision, “books were opened,” and “if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life” he was not only not admitted but “thrown into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:12; 15). Talk about extreme vetting and deportation.

Only those who “wash their robes” in the shed blood of Christ will be allowed to “enter the city by its gates” (Revelation 22:14). Those who refuse to adopt the values of the eternal city will remain outside its walls. “Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood” (Revelation 22:15). In other words, cultural assimilation will not be optional for someone who desires a place in this coming kingdom.

Immigration controls will be stout, and deportation for those without proper documentation will be enforced. The king will apprehend those who try to sneak in and pass themselves off as citizens when they are not, and say to them, “Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness” (Matthew 7:23).

How do would-be immigrants get their names written in this register, this book of life, so that they will be admitted through the gates on that day? How do they get the visa, if you will, that entitles them to enter the kingdom of God?

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). All prior allegiances must be renounced, and Jesus must be acknowledged as their new sovereign. They must accept him not just as Savior but as Lord. Once they do, their citizenship is granted, their passport is stamped, and they are welcomed to their new kingdom. This citizenship process is open to anyone in the world, anywhere, at any time.

We have my great-grandfather’s immigration documents hanging on the wall of our living room. In order for him to become a citizen of the United States, it was necessary for him to “renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to all and any foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the Czar of Russia, of whom I was a subject.” Then he was required to declare his new allegiance to a new source of ultimate political authority, the Constitution of the United States.

The earthly process of becoming a citizen of the United States is a parable, a reflection, a shadow, of the process of becoming a citizen of the eternal kingdom. Perhaps God even intended it to be just that, and we cloud the picture when we make foolish changes to sound immigration policy. To be sure, it’s a shadow only, since the eternal kingdom is perfect and America is not.

In the kingdom of the age to come, documentation is required, a profession of allegiance is required, the borders are patrolled, and intruders are expelled. If that’s how Christ governs his heavenly kingdom, earthly kingdoms can be governed in the same way.

Does Christ believe in immigration control and border security? Of course. And if he does, it’s okay for the United States to believe in them too.

And the ultimate lesson for readers of this column is this: be sure you have your visa in hand because no one knows when the day of ultimate migration will come.immigration

Muslim Migrants FLOOD in Next To George Clooney’s $10M Italian Villa

waving flagAuthored By on January 3, 2017

URL of the original posting site: http://joeforamerica.com/2017/01/1000s-migrants-moving-next-door-liberal-george-clooney-madonna-not-happy/

After Hillary Clinton and Obama, Democrats are scrambling to find the next “up and coming” star to worship. They need someone that can compete on Trump’s popularity level with the same TV stardom and name recognition. They may be looking at the Ocean’s 11 star, George Clooney.

The latest odds have him at 100 to 1 to run in 2020. He seems to have even gotten better odds since his marriage to 38-year-old Amal Alamuddin, who represented WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange, and is one of the world’s leading human rights specialists.

Clooney’s been a dear friend of Obama’s. He’s a typical Hollywood liberal fanatic and has been a strong supporter and fundraiser for both Obama and Hillary Clinton. He’s supported their liberal policies including their policy on illegal immigration. However, with the recent influx of thousands of immigrants into Clooney’s quiet, little, romantic “getaway” town of Lake Como, Italy, he might still be thinking – “too close for comfort”. His neighbors sure are.  Here’s a blast from the past:

3645361900000578-3689928-image-a-29_1468495992744

Lake Como has long been a destination favored by the powerful and wealthy, many of whom are attracted by its stunning lakeside villas built in Roman times.

H/T The Sun:

Roberto Bernasconi, from a local Catholic charity, said: “We are helping them with food, clothing and we are also mounting showers.

“But it is very difficult, we do not know how to welcome all these people. In the Como diocese we have over 2,000 migrants in the facilities – there is no room.”

“I do not know how much longer we can bear the brunt of this mass of people who would like to cross the border but who are not willing to leave Como.”you-mean-rapefugees

The groups of migrants arrive in the area having likely travelled up Italy after landing in the south having crossed the Mediterranean by boat.

Just yesterday nearly 1,000 migrants were saved in six separate rescue operations on the Med.

All six boats – including four rubber dinghies – are believed to have set off from Libya, where criminal gangs charge people thousands to be lead on the perilous crossing.

—-

Many of the thousands of illegal immigrants are coming to Italy from Africa and Europe. They’re camping out until they can afford to pay “smugglers” to head north. It seems those nice, old, quaint, brick streets of Como are beginning to get overrun by Asian men who are hawking umbrellas, flowers, and what not. These same immigrants are sleeping on the streets, in the parks and overrunning the community. Locals are not happy and are protesting, especially against plans to set up camps with tattered tents on the boundaries of Lake Como.

CnROQi-WgAIygXA

Eh! Clooney is probably thinking – What’s a few tattered tents, right?

After all, Clooney’s for big government and believes government should take care of everyone else’s problems.

Did I mention what nice things George had to say about Hillary?

“…I was very, very, very glad that she was secretary of state and that she was an informed, responsible, smart person,”…

Not surprised, since I did start this article by saying George is a liberal and a dear friend of Obama’s and Hillary’s. They ALL welcome more immigrants – even if it means losing jobs, resources, and the character of our own nation.

george-clooney-lake-como

Again, this would be a perfect time for Clooney who described “The Donald” as a “xenophobic fascist,” to actually put into practice what he preachers and simply open his multi-million dollar lakeside mansion and take in few hundred of those Muslim refugees, then we may actually say he’s a man of his word…we’re waiting George.

Once again, George, I hope you are enjoying your view during the holidays!

Angela Merkel Admits Germany Screwed Up: Now Wants Immigrants OUT!

After importing about a million immigrants last year it looks like Germany is waking up. After seeing all the destruction and high records of crime that has been caused by all of these refugees and illegal immigrants, Chancellor Merkel is finally ready to admit she screwed up.  Sounds like she is finally listening to her critics.

She wants a national effort now to deport thousands of these refugees back to where they came from. The problem is Germany has let so many illegal refugees into their country, they have created a massive backlog now and can’t get rid of them fast enough.

I hope Americans are paying attention…because Obama’s America is not far behind this mess.different or same

article-2427713-1bed52d5000005dc-487_634x447

H/T Daily Caller:

German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants a “national push” to deport as many rejected asylum seekers as possible from the country. Germany struggled to get rid of asylum rejects during years when the migrant influx was much smaller. Close to a million arrivals in 2015 alone has created a huge backlog of deportations that authorities can’t execute.

“We need a national push to deport those who are rejected,” Merkel said at a news conference Saturday. “That’s indisputable and we’re working hard on that at the moment.”Do you want

The chancellor promised to increase the staff at immigration authorities to tackle the problem.

A government report released in August showed 549,209 people in Germany remained in the country despite having their asylum claims denied. Authorities expect to deport less than 30,000 of them by the end of the year.

Pretty amazing, huh? About 1/2 a million illegals are STILL in Germany, even though they don’t’ have asylum. Good luck finding them or even catching them. After all, what records do they have on all these illegal refugees? On top of that, they don’t have the staff in place to even get them out. So, in the meantime, there will continue to be illegals that gang rape young women, threaten the lives of innocent citizens, and cause increased crime and destruction of property.  And let’s face it, Germany will never be the same.RAPE

They can not easily round up 1/2 million people and deport them in a reasonable amount of time. In fact, I’m going to predict this mess that Chancellor Merkel created is going to effect that country for at least a couple generations to come.

The sad thing is, seeing this mess…THIS is exactly what Obama is doing to America. I just hope America wakes up in time.  Because if Hillary Clinton gets elected in November, Germany’s illegal immigrant mess will look like a cake walk next to Obama’s.

BREAKING: Supreme Court’s Final Say on Obama’s Immigration Plan Will Have Him Pouting for Years!

screen-shot-2016-10-03-at-10-26-03-amObama is not happy. This is also a good starting point for a Trump presidency…

By

One of the most high-profile cases in recent years has been the lawsuit from the State of Texas and other co-plaintiff states against the Obama administration’s amnesty program. The suit was filed several years ago and made its way through the district court in Texas, to the Fifth Circuit, all the way to the Supreme Court.

Now, the case is finally closed, and the Obama administration has lost its case in the fight to use executive fiat to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.

HotAir has more:

The White House lost on its fight over Barack Obama’s executive orders on immigration when the Supreme Court had nine members, and it won’t get a second chance with the eight remaining. On its first day back in session, the high court denied a rehearing request in US et al v Texas et al, the biggest fight between Washington and the states on enforcement of immigration statutes.

This decision leaves the loss in place, and also leaves Obama and his activism with no tools left to intrude on legislative jurisdiction. Had Obama worked in more good faith on this issue rather than leveraging it for cheap demagoguery, he might have found a compromise with Congress. For that matter, if Obama cared about this issue apart from cheap demagoguery, he would have prioritized immigration reform while his party controlled Congress, rather than backing a useless and expensive stimulus package and the disastrous ObamaCare legislation. He might have made himself and Democrats a lot more popular in midterm elections, too.

This closes the books for Obama on immigration. He lost, mostly by forfeit.

The Court could have chosen to rehear the case when a ninth member is placed on the bench, but alas such was not the case. The Court split the decision by a 4-4 vote, which left in place the decision of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit intact, but did not create a national precedent.

As USA Today reported:

The tie vote on immigration left intact a preliminary injunction that stopped the program in its tracks in February 2015, after Texas and 25 other states claimed Obama lacked the authority to circumvent Congress. The case is back in federal district court before the judge who issued the original injunction. A reversal there is considered unlikely.

Liberals whine that GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s proposal to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border is racist.

But Breitbart reported that the editorial board of El Mañana — one of the country’s largest newspapers — wrote an article titled “Yes to the Border Wall … but in Mexico’s South,” calling for the country to build a wall along its southern border to stem the tide of illegal immigrants pouring across from Central America.

But when was the last time you heard American liberals up in arms about how Mexico treats illegal immigrants coming across its own border from the south? Apparently there’s nothing wrong with Mexico wanting to build a wall to protect its territory, but when the United States wants to do it, suddenly it’s “racist.”

This maps below are just another example of the hypocrisy of the left:

Mexico's Southern Border Wall

Conservative Post reported exactly how Trump can fund the wall, explained why it’s important and debunked the left’s assertions that it isn’t possible. Thanks to Mexicans who live and work in the United States, $24 billion flows into Mexico a year. If the Mexican government wants that money to continue, it will have to come up with a one-time payment of $5 to $10 billion in order to build the border wall, according to the Conservative Post.

The Mexican government officials can protest all they want, but if the money gets cut off, it’s likely they will sing a different tune.

Conservative Post mentioned three things that would help pay for the wall:

“Trade tariffs, or enforcement of existing trade rules.” As Trump has repeatedly said, we need to renegotiate trade deals in America’s favor. Doing so would provide a huge source of money to put toward building the wall.

“Cancelling visas.” America is not required to take in everyone around the world and, as the article pointed out, it is a privilege to come to the United States.

illegalalienvoters-300x300The U.S. holds a great deal of power in these negotiations as Mexico uses the U.S. as a de facto welfare state and also needs visas for business and tourism purposes.

“Visa Fees.” The left regularly likes to talk about increasing taxes on Americans, but what about visa fees? Conservative Post argued that just a small increase in visa fees could pay for the wall itself.

America needs to build a wall in order to protect Americans from drug trafficking, crime and gangs.  In addition, we need to start, as Trump has said, putting Americans first. Building a wall is not only doable, it is critical for the future of America.
