The hospital said Scalise has made “excellent progress in his recovery from a life-threatening gunshot wound six weeks ago,” adding that he was discharged Tuesday and has begun intensive inpatient rehabilitation.
“He is in good spirits and is looking forward to his return to work once he completes rehabilitation,” the statement said. “He and his family are grateful for the care he received from the trauma team as well as the other doctors, nurses, and staff of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The family also appreciates the outpouring of prayers and support during this time.”
Scalise, the No. 3 Republican in House leadership and the party’s top vote-counter, nearly lost his life on June 14, when a gunman opened fire on Republican lawmakers, aides and lobbyists practicing in Alexandria for the annual charity Congressional Baseball Game.
Scalise, 51, was shot in the hip, suffering broken bones, damage to his internal organs and major blood loss. During the next several weeks, Scalise was in and out of the intensive-care unit, battling infections as he recovered.
The others shot in the melee were congressional aide Zack Barth, lobbyist Matt Mika and Capitol Police special agent Crystal Griner, a member of Scalise’s security detail.
The shooter, James Hodgkinson, was fatally wounded during the 10-minute shootout in the usually quiet Alexandria neighborhood of Del Rey, just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.
In recent days, there were signs that Scalise was making significant progress. On Monday, Scalise called into his weekly whip meeting to thank his team for their hard work and to let them know he was ready to return to the Capitol soon.
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) tweeted his support after the hospital’s news.
Scalise’s top ally, Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), has been filling in for the Louisiana Republican during his absence.

He said American forces “must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory” and that the trans community would be a burden to our armed forces.
In a typical Trump move, he made this major policy announcement on his Twitter account in a series of posts. He says he made the decision after discussing the issue with generals and military experts, which he left anonymous.
“After consultation with my generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military,” Mr. Trump wrote. “Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.”
The sweeping policy decision reverses the gradual transformation of the military under President Barack Obama, whose administration announced last year that transgender people could serve openly in the military. Mr. Obama’s defense secretary, Ashton B. Carter, also opened all combat roles to women and appointed the first openly gay Army secretary.
It was not clear what prompted Mr. Trump’s announcement on Wednesday. In June, the administration delayed a decision on whether to allow transgender recruits to join the military. At the time, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said an extra six months would give military leaders a chance to review its potential impact.
The president’s announcement came amid a debate on Capitol Hill over the Obama-era practice of requiring the Pentagon to pay for medical treatment related to gender transition.
The dispute has unfolded as Congress considers a nearly $700 billion spending bill to fund the Pentagon. Representative Vicky Hartzler, Republican of Missouri, has proposed an amendment that would bar the Pentagon from spending money on transition surgery or related hormone therapy.
The same measure narrowly failed this month in the House, with some Republicans joining Democrats to reject it. But some conservative Republicans have said they would not support the military spending measure without the language banning money for gender transition.

Attorney Chris Gowen is serving as the lawyer for Imran Awan, a Pakistani-American IT professional who was apprehended at Dulles Airport this week as he reportedly attempted to leave the country for Pakistan.
Awan has been charged with bank fraud (which the Daily Caller reports as a potential “placeholder” charge for much more serious coming charges), and the FBI has been deeply involved in the process, leading some to suspect that there may be a foreign espionage component to the investigation. As an IT staffer, Awan secured highly sensitive information from several members of Congress, including representatives in the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs committees. Imran Awan is just one of the individuals in a criminal probe. Other suspects in the investigation reportedly fled to Pakistan.
After Awan’s arrest, Gowen immediately jumped into the fray, alleging that Awan was a victim of Islamophobia. He labeled Awan’s arrest as part of “a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim.”
Gowen’s past includes several stints in the Clinton machine’s orbit. He began his legal life as a public defender but left that job for the Bill Clinton White House. At the time, he also worked for then-Senator Hillary Clinton. Years later, he jumped on board Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, directing advance operations there, according to his biography from his law firm, Gowen Rhoades Winograd & Silva, PLLC. In another bio page, Gowen states he has consulted with former Democratic presidential contenders John Kerry and John Edwards.
Another biography, from American University, says Gowen worked with several controversial Clinton projects, including The Clinton Global Initiative, The Clinton Foundation, and The Clinton Health Access Initiative.
In 2012, Gowen went to bat for Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, whose family is deeply connected to the Muslim Brotherhood. After GOP reps explored Abedin’s nefarious ties, Gowen pledged to “stand with Huma.”
Along with his private practice, the longtime Clinton aide is also an adjunct professor at American University Washington College of Law, where he teaches courses in legal ethics and law practice management.
It remains unclear at this time how Imran Awan managed to link up with Gowen and retain his services.
A preliminary hearing for Mr. Awan is scheduled for August 21.

Awan and his family operated an IT service company, to which some of his clients were from the House Democratic caucus; about 25. During that time, they raked in about $4 million by House Dems. Yesterday Imran was charged with bank fraud, while being arrested at the airport trying to flee the country to Pakistan. Reportedly he wired nearly $300, 000 to himself in that country.
Awan’s current home in the states is being leased out to a military couple, to which they found what looked like ‘government issued’ hard drives that were smashed. Authorities have investigated him and his wife for stealing equipment from some House members; with suspicions Imran placed information on the cloud from said equipment, according to Politico.
Many of Awan’s political clients fired him a long time ago, however the former Democratic National Committee head DWS left him on her payroll until yesterday, when he got arrested. DWS even tried to stop police from looking at her smashed laptop. According to reports, Awan apparently had it in his possession.
Democrats are trying to blame the investigation into Awan and his family on the fact that he is a Muslim from Pakistan.
Given the above sequence of events, this all raises serious questions, to which Ben Shapiro brilliantly lines out:
1. Why Was Awan Being Paid So Much Money For So Long? According to The Daily Caller, Awan wasn’t doing a good job — in fact, he and his team weren’t on mandatory phone calls:
Fellow IT staffers TheDCNF interviewed said the Awans were often absent from weekly meetings and email exchanges. One of the fellow staffers said some of the computers the Awans managed were being used to transfer data to an off-site server.
2. What Information Did Awan Transfer? The Daily Caller, which has been all over this story, reports that Awan had “access to all emails and files of dozens of members of Congress, as well as the password to the iPad that Wasserman Schultz used for Democratic National Committee business before she resigned as its head in July 2016.”
3. What Is Wasserman Schultz Trying To Hide? Not only did Wasserman Schultz keep paying Awan, she reportedly “threatened the chief of the US Capitol police with ‘consequences’ for holding equipment that she says belongs to her.” Again, here’s The Daily Caller:
When TheDCNF asked Wasserman Schultz Monday if it could inquire about her strong desire for the laptop, she said “No, you may not.” After TheDCNF asked why she wouldn’t want the Capitol Police to have any evidence they may need to find and punish any hackers of government information, she abruptly turned around in the middle of a stairwell and retreated back to the office from which she had come.
4. Why Aren’t The Media Reporting This Story? Thus far, only Politico among the mainstream media news outlets has covered the Awan story. Nothing from ABC News. Nothing from NBCNews.com. Nothing from CNN. Nothing from The New York Times. That’s pretty stunning, considering the potential scope of the story. One suspicion: are mainstream outlets concerned that perhaps Awan might be in some way connected to DNC leaks that damaged Democrats, or that will do so in the future?
Why the mainstream media is simply ignoring this story is beyond our comprehension, but this is clearly a major story and a very strange one at that. This has potential to blow up in the Democrats face, depending on the information stored on the smashed hard drives. Share this story so Americans are in the know!

Imran Awan — whom is the IT administrator and a Muslim Pakistani national — along with his two brothers, Abid and Jamal, were responsible for managing several IT services for Democrat representatives. Some of those clients included members of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
This family of IT specialists are currently under criminal investigation for “serious violation on the House IT network.” Awan and three of his relatives, due to their IT roles, had access to the emails of more than two dozen House Democrats.
When the news broke in February that the criminal investigation was under way Imran Awan “abruptly moved out of his longtime home”, eventually renting his home to a military couple (a Marine Corps veteran man married to a Navy officer woman).
The tenants said that Awan and his family “left in a huge hurry.”
“[I found] wireless routers, hard drives that look like they tried to destroy, laptops, [and] a lot of brand new expensive toner,” said the Marine. “It looks like government-issued equipment. We turned that stuff over [to the authorities].”

The Marine said Imran wanted the hard drives back so desperately that he threatened to sue the renter for stealing them.
“It was unbelievable. I don’t know where they get off thinking they’re going to sue us for items we have no obligation to hold onto,” he said.
Imran came to the house for the items “three to four times,” but the Marine wouldn’t let him enter.
“Their lawyer contacted us today via email and said we owed $350 in late charges and the items he left in the house,” the Marine said.
The Marine heard about the House investigation on the radio, and by that time, he had noticed other bizarre signs of desperation from his landlord.
“When we first moved in, a mailman came with certified mail from the House of Representatives. We were trying to be nice and signed for it. They lost their shit, saying ‘why did you sign for it, this is illegal!’ It was certified from the [Chief Administrative Officer of the House],” he said.
“The postman came a second time with a certified letter and I called Imran on the spot, asking ‘what do you want me to do.’ He said ‘just send him away, I’m homeless.’ They refused to forward their mail.”
Imran’s brother Abid has also been evasive about his location, failing to provide an accurate address for delivery of court materials in a lawsuit in which he is accused of defrauding the brothers’ stepmother. Imran’s wife, Hina, has traveled to Pakistan since the probe was revealed, according to neighbors.
According to the Daily Wire: The Marine said Imran wanted the hard drives back so desperately that he threatened to sue the renter for stealing them.
The Awan family is also being investigated for fraud, allegedly placing “ghost employees” on a congressional payroll. They have been paid over $4 million in salary between 2009 and 2017.
Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY), who employed Awan with his congressional staff budget, suggested the Awan family may be falsely targeted by Capitol Police because of they are Muslims.
“I wanted to be sure individuals are not being singled out because of their nationalities or their religion,” he said.
As of today, there have been no arrests made involving this case.
Wasserman-Schultz still employs the Awans as IT administrators with her congressional staff budget. In May, she indirectly threatened Capitol Police Chief Matthew Verderosa with “consequences” for keeping a laptop belonging to Awan as evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation.
The Awan family and their actions certainly have ‘guilty’ written all over them. The fact that DWS is still employing them at this point is highly suspicious too.
Hopefully Capitol Police will be able to close this case soon. If they are indeed doing anything illegal, it needs to be shut down.
Reported Roy is a right-leaning economist and thinker but he recently decided to dig into the CBO projections because he noticed something startling about the projections of every GOP healthcare plan – they all showed expectations of more than 20 million people “losing” their healthcare. It didn’t matter how conservative or how moderate the plan, no matter what the GOP suggested, the CBO kept saying that more than 20 million people would lose their healthcare. Roy wondered how this was possible give the wildly different plans being suggested by various legislators. So, Roy dug into the numbers and realized almost immediately that the CBO was playing a corrupt and very misleading game with their projections:
In the national debate over the GOP health reform proposals, one data point has stood out above all others: the estimate, from the Congressional Budget Office, that more than 20 million people would “lose” coverage as a result. And there’s been an odd consistency to the CBO’s projections. Do you want to repeal every word of Obamacare and replace it with nothing? The CBO says 22 million fewer people would have health insurance. Do you prefer replacing Obamacare with a system of flat tax credits, in which you get the same amount of assistance regardless of your financial need? The CBO says 23 million fewer people would have health insurance. Do you prefer replacing Obamacare with means-tested tax credits, like the Senate bill does, in which the majority of the assistance is directed to those near or below the poverty line? The CBO says 22 million fewer people would have health insurance. 22 million, 23 million, 22 million — these numbers are remarkably similar even though the three policies I describe above are significantly different. Why is that?
A congressional staffer kindly leaked the CBO’s scoring process to Roy, and what he learned was that nearly 75% of the difference in coverage between Obamacare and any of the GOP bills has to do with the repeal of the “individual mandate.” Yes, 3/4 of the difference is just because the GOP would stop forcing people to buy healthcare, and the people would CHOOSE to stop getting healthcare insurance.
It gets worse, almost all of the rest of the difference between the GOP’s suggested bills and Obamacare only exist because the CBO is using faulty numbers.
Based on those estimates, of the 22 million fewer people who will have health insurance in 2026 under the Senate bill, 16 million will voluntarily drop out of the market because they will no longer face a financial penalty for doing so: 73 percent of the total. As you can see in the above chart, two factors—repealing Obamacare’s individual mandate and the CBO’s outdated March 2016 baseline—explain nearly all of the CBO-scored coverage difference between GOP bills and Obamacare.

The GOP keeps suggesting new plans with hopes that the CBO will give them a better score, but as Roy’s explanation proves, there is no plan that the GOP could propose that would give them a fair scoring. The CBO score has been the primary reason that GOP moderates have given to explain why they continue to fight against repeal, but again, Roy’s breakdown proves that their excuse is spurious. The moderates have to choose, will they continue to be cowed by the fake numbers from the CBO? Will they continue to break the very promises they made to get elected? Or will they finally stand up and do what they promised – repeal Obamacare?
In a follow up piece over at Forbes, Roy suggests a simple solution for the GOP to prove that the CBO’s projections are all washed up:
There’s a simple way for Republicans to highlight the CBO’s mandate mania: have CBO score one version of the bill with an individual mandate, and one version without. It’ll make as plain as day what those of us who follow this stuff see up close: that the mandate is the secret sauce driving the CBO’s faulty coverage predictions.
By the way, the media continues to report that repeal is unpopular, but you shouldn’t believe that nonsense. The most recent CNN poll proved that talking point was a lie and revealed that most Americans want Obamacare repealed.
The GOP has some work to do, and they better get started now.

Alvarado-Perez told officers that he came to the United States illegally about 10 years ago.
The Department of Homeland Security has reportedly issued an immigration detainer on Alvarado-Perez. He is being charged with, “rape, criminal sexual act, and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child,” WHEC.com reports.
The Genessee Sun also reports that he had sex with the girl while in front of a baby.
Republican Lindsay Graham also recently made headlines for working on a news proposal to keep illegal immigrants in the country, saying that those who don’t support DREAMers shouldn’t vote for him.

We are constantly told that we need to be ‘tolerant’. We are constantly told that we don’t need to make sure that those coming to the U.S. assimilate into American culture. But we are a ‘melting pot’. Sure, bring your food and your music — even open up a restaurant! If it’s good, we’ll eat there. And then you’re living the American Dream.
We see the ‘respect’ for women means covering them up, abuse, mutilation, and treating them as inferior. We see that the ‘holy’ Muhammed married a child when she was 6 and consummated the marriage when she was 9 or 10. We see what ‘Peace’ looks like when Muslim majority countries discuss our ally, Israel. We see what Islam has done, and it isn’t what we want here.
There are doctors on trial now for mutilating girls in the name of Islam.

Federal agencies have withdrawn 469 regulations that had been proposed by the Obama administration last fall, according to information from the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. That total included 19 regulations with an economic impact of $100 million or more, the White House said.
The White House said 391 regulations have been delayed for further evaluation and consideration.
According to the White House, during the final five months of fiscal 2016, the Obama administration put in place rules that imposed $6.8 billion in annual costs on the economy. The White House said rules imposed in the Trump administration’s first five months have imposed no costs.
“It’s really the beginning of a kind of fundamental regulatory reform,” Neomi Rao, head of the office, said Wednesday.
Some Trump administration rules are devoted to killing other rules. For example, the Interior Department plans to reduce the paperwork burden for outdoorsmen, fish restoration programs and Native American tribes, while the Labor Department wants to change the approval process for new apprenticeship programs.
“There is a substantial withdrawal and rollback of proposed regulatory actions,” Rao said. “It is also important to note that what we are doing now is in some ways fulfilling a number of longstanding principles that other presidents have always talked about.”
Trump’s approach to regulations has been cheered by business.
“We just got through eight years of a regulatory onslaught, aimed at curtailing oil and gas production. So we are very supportive of the administration’s efforts to roll back regulation,” said Kathleen Sgamma of the Western Energy Alliance, which represents oil and gas drillers in Western states.
Rao noted that while reducing regulations is a major goal of the Trump administration, it cannot be done instantly.
“Deregulation is going to take time,” she said. “It is not something you can just do at the snap of a finger.”
“Agencies want to move quickly to get things done, to fulfill their priorities,” she said, adding that her office would be working with agencies to be sure they follow the law and are “doing things the right way.”

The meeting came as the Pentagon briefed lawmakers about plans to increase the U.S. military footprint in the country.
Contrary to mainstream media claims that the president has taken a completely hands-off approach to the 16-year-old conflict in Afghanistan, Trump presided over Wednesday’s meeting primarily aimed at discussing the U.S. war effort in Afghanistan, a Trump administration official familiar with the deliberations told Breitbart News on condition of anonymity.
President Trump indicated that he is not satisfied with the strategy as it currently stands.
The Pentagon and White House National Security Council (NSC) declined to provide specifics about the developing plan.
President Trump demanded that his team go back to square one if necessary and create a realistic plan that ensures Afghanistan is ultimately able to stand on its own as a country, said the administration official, noting that the meeting served as a sort of wake up call for those involved in developing the strategy.
It appears that besides the Pentagon, the NSC has at least some authority in setting the strategy.
Asked about the meeting, the Pentagon did not confirm nor deny that the President asked officials to go back to the drawing board.
“We’re not going to discuss White House meetings or direction,” said Adam Stump, a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) spokesman, when Breitbart News asked whether or not it has been forced to start developing the Afghanistan war strategy from scratch and when it expects to present the plan to Trump.
The NSC did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Defense Secretary James Mattis told reporters last Friday a decision on the new plan would be unveiled around “mid-July” or “somewhere around there. We are driven by the maturity of the discussion, and where we’re at, we are not going to meet some timeline if we are not ready, but we are pretty close.”
Trump has granted the Pentagon the authority to decide how many additional troops to deploy to the war-ravaged country. Currently, Mattis may increase that number of troops by between 3,000 and 5,000, from the 8,400 already there. Mattis noted on Friday that the number of additional troops has not been “finalized yet,” adding that the Pentagon is waiting from input from the U.S. State Department.
Citing unnamed U.S. officials, CNN reports that as it currently stands, the strategy:
Encompasses a way ahead in Afghanistan, including the possibility of sending more troops, but also a look at new ideas for dealing with Pakistan, which the US believes is supporting or turning a blind eye to a number of terror groups operating inside the country.
Directly dealing with Pakistan’s support for terrorists fighting the U.S. and its allies in Afghanistan would mark a significant departure from what America has done in the past.
Most of the 2,255 U.S. military fatalities and 20,245 injury incidents have taken place in provinces that border Pakistan.
Stump told Breitbart News:
The U.S. strategy in Afghanistan remains centered on working with NATO allies, operational partners, and the international community to defeat the remnants of core al Qaeda and to defeat other violent extremist organizations and terrorist groups, such as ISIS-K [Islamic State], to ensure that Afghanistan does not again become a safe-haven for groups to plan and execute attacks against the United States, U.S. persons overseas, or allies and partners; and continuing efforts to provide financial and advisory support to the Afghan Government and to enable a well-trained, equipped, and sustainable ANDSF [Afghan National Defense and Security Force] that provides security in Afghanistan.
The U.S. and Afghan Governments agree that the best way to ensure lasting peace and security in Afghanistan is through reconciliation and a political settlement with the Taliban. The United States supports an Afghan-led, Afghan-owned reconciliation process and supports any process that includes violent extremist groups laying down their arms.
Citing unnamed U.S. officials, the Washington Post (WaPo) reports that the current U.S.-Afghan war is framed around a four-year plan to degrade the Taliban this is unlikely to “yield significant results until its later stages.”
In recently issued reports, the U.S. State Department and the Pentagon have accused Pakistan of willingly serving as a safe-haven for the Taliban and its affiliates, including the deadly Haqqani Network.
The Taliban affirmed its relationship with al-Qaeda in December 2016.

The popularity of the religion among drug traffickers and violent criminals in Central Texas has raised concern among authorities, prompting Texas officials and the Catholic Church to warn about the dangers of the dark creed.
An FBI bulletin written by Robert J. Bunker, an academic and adviser to the government on security matters, noted the rise of the “criminalized and dark variant” of the Christian religion, pointing to many of its negative implications, which include “inspired and ritualistic killings.”
The bulletin said those who worship La Santa Muerte, who is depicted as a robed skeleton carrying a scythe in one hand and a globe or scales in the other, can partake of various forms of sacrifice that include the “ritual murder and butchering of humans.”
The report mentioned three instances where brutal killings took place in the name of Santa Muerte, killings that rival even the butchers of the Islamic State group.
“We’re seeing more and more criminals that are praying to Santa Muerte,” Robert Almonte, a former El Paso narcotics detective and former U.S. marshal, told KVUE.
Which is the reason why citizens, especially those in law enforcement, should be aware of this dark practice.
Almonte conducts seminars to inform law enforcement officers about the signs of the Santa Muerte cult.
“Officers are entering homes on drug search warrants and they’re encountering elaborate Santa Muerte shrines,” an undercover Austin police officer told KVUE.
Almonte also said that those practicing the religion believe that more intense sacrifices will earn them favor with Santa Muerte.
It’s frightening to think that people practice this kind of “religion,” and it’s even more frightening that we are seeing evidence of it in our own cities.

The Don Jr. story has been thoroughly covered, so we won’t get into all the nitty-gritty. If you need catching up, watch CNN for 5 minutes and you’ll be up to speed. It’s like 90 percent of their coverage.

Instead, we’ll take the ‘Way Back Machine’ and check out some other ‘collusion’ stories that The Media (D) seem to forget about.
Moscow. General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union Leonid Brezhnev meets with US senator Edward Kennedy.
Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.
“On 9-10 May of this year,” the May 14 memorandum explained, “Sen. Edward Kennedy’s close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow.” (Tunney was Kennedy’s law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) “The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov.”
Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.”

Kennedy had some specific proposals for Andropov. He suggested:
Why did he do it? The memo says because of his ‘concern’ for the rising tensions between the US and the USSR. Oh, and he wanted to run for President in 1988.
But that’s a minor factor, amirite?
When President Reagan chose to confront the Soviet Union, calling it the evil empire that it was, Sen. Edward Kennedy chose to offer aid and comfort to General Secretary Andropov. On the Cold War, the greatest issue of his lifetime, Kennedy got it wrong.
Just think of what would have happened if had Kennedy succeeded.
I’m old enough to remember when Bashar al-Assad was viewed as a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad man. But not to Nancy Pelosi in 2007.

Pelosi, who was Speaker at the time, decided to go to Syria and chat with Assad herself — because it was time to negotiate. She did so against the wishes of President Bush. …President Bush was (for the reasons outlined) firmly against Pelosi’s trip. Second, State Department briefings do not signify endorsement of travel. They simply reflect State’s rightful need to inform U.S. representatives and ensure their safety. Nothing changes the fact that Speaker Pelosi — third in line to the presidency — praised an American enemy while he was helping to murder Americans and attack U.S. interests.

Pelosi has continued with her bizarre behavior and is shockingly still holding public office despite her strange press conferences and near-constant messing up of the language. Half the time she refers to President Trump as President Bush.
Seriously, folks, there’s got to be somebody in California that can run against her. She’s a mess!
Looks like the Media (D) has amnesia about these incidents of ‘collusion’.

A few weeks ago, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was going on and on about a “single insurance provider” that pays for 49 percent of all births, as well as full health care costs of almost 40 percent of all children in the United States. This single “insurer,” Maddow said, was the biggest “health insurance provider in the country by a mile.”
Maddow was talking about Medicaid, which, of course, is not “insurance” but “welfare.”
When we’re allowed to call things whatever we want in order to win an argument, there is a total breakdown in democratic politics, fair commerce and social interaction.
Thus, for example, until we get our terms straight, Americans will be forced to keep paying through the nose whenever they try to buy actual health insurance — because they aren’t buying health insurance; they’re paying for other people’s welfare. Washington will never be able to make it legal to sell real health insurance — because, if they try, the welfare recipients will mob congressional offices claiming that Republicans are murdering them.
There is no truth in any discussion of Obamacare. Currently, the most persistent lie is the claim that — according to scoring by the CBO! — 22 million Americans would “lose” their health insurance under the Senate health care bill. Turn on the TV right now and you’ll hear someone saying this.

HELLO? REPUBLICANS? ANY OF YOU GUYS WANT TO REBUT THAT? IT’S PRETTY EASY TO DO!
The actual CBO report says nothing of the sort. People citing the “22 million” figure didn’t read past the CBO’s headline-grabbing paragraph at the top of the “Summary” page.
In fact, the CBO merely estimates that — in the year 2026 — 22 million Americans who otherwise would have been forced by the Obamacare penalty to buy health insurance will choose not to buy insurance once the penalty is gone. By “people thrown off their health insurance,” liberals mean: “people who voluntarily decide not to have health insurance.” (More accurately, “people who choose not to prove to the government that they have health insurance.”)
To use the word “lose” here is absurd. It would be like saying that Nixon ending the draft meant that 50,000 American men would “lose” their military service. The poor lads would be forced to volunteer.
Last year, I chose to end my New York Times subscription. I wasn’t “thrown off” the Times’ subscriber list. In full possession of the facts, I made an informed decision that I no longer wanted to receive the Times — just as 22 million Americans (the CBO guesses) will make an informed decision in the year 2026 not to have health insurance, if given that option.
Redefining words like “insurance” and “lose” to mean whatever the speaker wants them to mean makes human conversation impossible. We can still grunt, howl and shiver when it’s cold, but we will no longer have the ability to communicate slightly more complex thoughts to one another.
The only solution is for the rest of us to impose a broken windows policy on the truth, demanding it in every walk of life. If liars continually get away with it, their lies will only become more preposterous and more enraging.
Illegal aliens are not “undocumented immigrants.” They’re not “immigrants” at all. Immigrants wait in line and jump through hoops to be here. They are invited, by us, to come. Illegals cut to the head of the line whenever the mood strikes them, without waiting for an invitation.
When you have a “reserved seat” on Delta, it means you expect to be given that seat and not have your ticket snatched from your hand, then moved to a worse seat — only to get abused on social media by an imperious corporation for talking about it on Twitter.
(Idea for new Delta motto: “If you like your seat, you can keep your seat!”)
This is why the “Seinfeld” exchange with a car rental company struck such a chord. It was about the infuriating result when words like “reservation” have no meaning:
Jerry: I don’t understand. I made a reservation. Do you have my reservation?
Rental car agent: Yes, we do. Unfortunately, we ran out of cars.
Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That’s why you have the reservation.
Rental car agent: I know why we have reservations.
Jerry: I don’t think you do. If you did, I’d have a car. See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don’t know how to hold the reservation. And that’s really the most important part of the reservation: the holding. Anybody can just take them.
If we’re going to have any kind of civil society, we need to insist that words mean what they say.
“Health insurance”: A group of people pooling their money every month, in the event that one of them ends up with an expensive medical problem.
“Wall”: Wall.
“Republican”: Does not raise taxes, propose amnesty or appoint David Hackett Souter to the Supreme Court.
“Seat 3A”: The seat you were promised.
Unless the rest of us demand truth, the liars will be emboldened, their lies will snowball and nothing will ever work.

The ‘antifascist’ group that was once on the fringe is becoming mainstream because of attention from The Media (D) and the #Resistance.
The Left is committed to embracing any group that will ‘resist’ President Trump, no matter how delusional or mixed up in their worldview. In some bizarro Leftist world, President Trump is a fascist. So are conservatives that think that free speech is something that we can — and should — engage in.
It was the so-called anti-fascists that have been tearing Berkeley apart anytime a conservative tries to speak on campus. First Milo Yiannopoulos, then Ann Coulter. We’ll see what happens in September when Ben Shapiro heads over to UC Berkeley to speak. Shapiro has already called out the Administration to not ‘hide behind Antifa‘ and says that ‘the home of the free speech movement has an obligation to protect free speech‘.
Antifa has made it their job to ‘resist’ President Trump. There’s a reason for that — for most of them, it’s the only ‘job’ they have.
And it’s so weird that the Left is ok with supporting them in their version of ‘resistance’. These people are violent. They are destructive.
If conservatives are ‘evil’ for their fight against a hiked up minimum wage, (which would raise prices on everything and cut workers’ hours,) then what about the people that smash up and loot the Starbucks that actually employs people? It’s not like the employees can show up for their shift if the store is closed for repairs, right?
Besides, where are the Antifa folks going to get their post-protest Frappuccino?
There are rabid feminists fighting for Muslims to have the right to subjugate and abuse women because to do otherwise wouldn’t be ‘tolerant’.
Ugh. These people are so ridiculous.

Yes, they’re people with a worldview that appears to be stitched together with all the skill exhibited by Dr. Frankenstein when creating his monster. It’s huge, ugly, and it lumbers about scaring people. The big 
difference between Frankenstein’s monster and Antifa is that the monster was devastated by his frightening exterior and was a gentle soul on the inside. Antifa is thrilled that they’re scary monsters.
The Antifa crowd are so very committed to tolerance that they are completely intolerant of the people that disagree with them.
These people are happy to ‘punch a Nazi’ and to them, anyone that disagrees is a Nazi.
These Leftist extremists are wreaking havoc everywhere.
Is this where we want to be as a society?
These Antifa thugs are bullies and don’t even see that they are the very thing that they claim to fight against.

Reported President Trump delivered another excellent speech reminding Americans everywhere about our long history of manufacturing and trade, but one moment in particular will follow the President as he moves forward. It was a short part of the speech that allowed him to articulate his philosophy on trade and business..
President James Garfield said, of our nation’s manufacturers, that, “to them the country owes the splendor of the position it holds before the world” — meaning, protect us.
Theodore Roosevelt declared in his first message to Congress that “reciprocity” — my favorite word, reciprocity — because we have countries that charge us 100 percent tax on a product, and when that product is sold by them to us, we brilliantly charge them nothing. And people say, oh, that’s free trade. No, that’s stupid trade. That’s really stupid trade. (Applause.)
It’s incredible. You’ll actually have people who — “No, we can’t do that. That’s free trade.” It’s just — that’s so incredible, but what are you going to do. (Laughter.) Oh, what happens in Washington, you just wouldn’t believe the things.
But “reciprocity must be treated as the handmaiden of protection.” And William McKinley proclaimed that “we ought to take care of our own nation and her industries first.” We have to look at our nation first for a change. We’ve been looking the other way for a long, long time. And if you look at what’s going on or the success of other nations — even in Europe — you look at some of those countries, one in particular, it’s not fair to the United States.
And that’s why I’m here, and I believe it’s one of the primary reasons you elected me and Mike. I mean, that’s why we’re here. And I think you’re going to see a big, big — I don’t think — I don’t think — I know you’re going to see one of the great differences, and you’re already seeing it, but it’s going to get more so and more so. And we’re going to end up having a level playing field.
I don’t want to say any more than level. But if the playing field were slanted like a little bit toward us, I’d accept that also. Okay?

Thank you, Mike. And you know, Mike, it is true that, as I walked through the halls, we saw so many great companies, but the gentleman who was in charge of Omaha Beef — they do beef — he hugged me, he wanted to kiss me so badly. (Laughter.) Because he said, our business is a whole different business now because you got China approved; the other administrations couldn’t even come close. And I told him, you know how long it took? One sentence. I said, President Xi, we’d love to sell beef back in China again. He said, you can do that. That was the end of that. Right? (Applause.) Sonny. The great Sonny Perdue. (Applause.) So we’re very happy.
But we’re here today to celebrate American manufacturing and to showcase the amazing products from all 50 states, made in the USA. Remember in the old days they used to have “Made in the USA”, “Made in America”? But made in the USA. We’re going to start doing that again. We’re going to put that brand on our product because it means it’s the best.
In just a few months and moments, I will say what we’ve done over a short period of time and what we’re going to be doing over the next six months will be incredible.
We’ve signed more bills — and I’m talking about through the legislature — than any President ever. For a while, Harry Truman had us, and now I think we have everybody, Mike. I better say “think,” otherwise they’ll give me a Pinocchio — (laughter) — and I don’t like those — I don’t like Pinocchios. (Laughter.)
In just a few moments, I’ll be signing a Presidential Proclamation to launch “Made in America Week” and to make today “Made in America Day.”
We are thrilled to be joined today by so many incredible members of my Cabinet. Every member of my administration shares the same goal: to provide a level playing field for American workers and for American industry. (Applause.) And we are providing it much faster than other countries would like. So it’s been really a pleasure.
We want to build, create, and grow more products in our country using American labor, American goods, and American grit. When we purchase products made in the USA, the profits stay here, the revenue stays here, and the jobs — maybe most importantly of all — they stay right here in the USA. (Applause.)
In the audience today we have skilled workers, we have business leaders whose American-made goods we are proudly displaying all over the White House and outside. I saw fire engines. I saw tractors from Caterpillar. I saw some incredible machinery. Make it right here. We thank you for being here. We’re honored to showcase your creations. And I will say, they’ve really taken on, and some of you have built names that I know of for so long. And its — congratulations. Right? You in particular. What a great job you’ve done. Thank you very much. And I saw you on television this morning. You were fantastic. I don’t know what you’re doing, exactly, but you could always have a second career. (Laughter.) You did a great job. Thank you very much.
American workers, farmers, and innovators are really the best in the world — we know that. And what we’re doing [with] that is we’re displaying those talents. You construct and harvest the products that fill our homes, feed our families, and defend our nation, and enrich our lives. I want to make a pledge to each and every one of you: No longer are we going to allow other countries to break the rules, steal our jobs, and drain our wealth — and it has been drained. It has been drained. (Applause.)
You’re going to see a lot of things happening over the next six months — you know, statutorily and through a lot of different legal — through the legal process. It takes a while to get it set so that you’re allowed to do it. You’re not allowed to do, but we’ve now mostly fulfilled all of that. And over the next short period of time, you’re going to see things announced that you won’t even believe for our country and for selling product in our country and making product in our country,and things that are great for American jobs. You’re going to be seeing that happening really quickly because we are totally set up, and the hard part now is done. It is a long, horrible process, but we’re going to also get rid of some of that process for the future. But we’re going to stand up for our companies and, maybe most importantly, for our workers.
For decades, Washington has allowed other nations to wipe out millions of American jobs through unfair trade practices. Wait until you see what’s up for you. You are going to be so happy. This painful exodus of American jobs — and I’ve been talking about it for years — was also marked by a period of sluggish growth, falling incomes, surging welfare, and shrinking participation in the workforce. Clearly, it’s time for a new policy — one defined by two simple rules: We will buy American and we will hire American. Right, Governor? (Applause.)
My administration is removing the burdens and regulations on your companies so that you can compete, thrive, and grow. How many of you have noticed this so far? Because it’s a big, big difference, right? That’s a big, big difference. The people are coming up to me — they can’t even believe it. We took the farmer’s land away. We took the homebuilder’s land away. They have their land back now, and they’re building homes and they’re farming their farms, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. And they’re so thankful.
So a lot of those regulations have been taken off; the rest are coming off. And, by the way, we will have better protection than we’ve ever had, but we’ll also have something where you don’t have to wait 15 years for a permit and then when you go to the board, you lose. And that’s a big portion of your life wiped out waiting for a permit. We’re not going to let that happen.
But for our nation to really prosper, we must lower the tax on
business — one of the highest in the world — and we must repeal job-killing Obamacare. We have to do that. (Applause.) And I can tell you, we hope John McCain gets better very soon because we miss him. He’s a crusty voice in Washington. Plus, we need his vote. (Laughter.) And he’ll be back. And he will be back sooner than somebody else would be back. He’ll be back soon.
But we need that vote. And we need a number of votes because we do have to repeal Obamacare, and we will end up replacing it with something that is going to be outstanding — far, far better than failing Obamacare where premiums have gone up, in some cases over 200 percent this year; where every single element of it is bad, and the insurance companies, by the way, are fleeing, so people have — in some states you have no insurance companies.
And we have some governors here, and we have senators here, and we have congressmen here, and women — and I will tell you, it’s a very, very hard time they’re having with the Obamacare situation. So we’re going to get that done, and I think we’re going to surprise a lot of people. But they’re pushing very hard. The Republican senators are great people, but they have a lot of different states. Some states need this, some states need that. But we’re getting it together, and it’s going to happen. Right, Mike?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: Yes, sir.
THE PRESIDENT: I think. (Laughter and applause.) And when it does happen, that will be a big day in America, believe me. A big day in America.
But we must also fight the unfair trade practices that have gutted our industry, and that includes cracking down on the predatory online sales of foreign goods, which is absolutely killing our shoppers and our shopping centers. If you look at what’s going on with shopping centers and stores and jobs in stores, it’s been very, very tough for them. They’ve had a very hard time. Closing at numbers and records that have never been seen before. So we have to stop that — the online predatory practices.
Since the beginning of the year, we have already created over 50,000 brand-new manufacturing jobs, and we’re just getting started. We will lift our citizens from welfare to work. We will turn boarded-up communities into new outposts of American commerce. And we will once again rediscover our heritage as a manufacturing nation. We used to be a manufacturing nation. Not so much anymore. But I will tell you, if you look at Michigan, if you look at some states that have really moved — you know, in Pennsylvania, two weeks ago they opened the mine — the first mine that was opened in decades. Opened a mine.
And you know all the people that were saying the mining jobs? Well, we picked up 45,000 mining jobs in a very short period of time. And everybody was saying, well, you won’t get any mining jobs. We picked up 45,000 mining jobs, and the miners are very happy with Trump and with Pence. And we’re very proud of that. But that’s just the beginning. We have jobs coming from all over.
Restoring American manufacturing will not only restore our wealth, it will restore our pride and pride in ourselves. It will revitalize our independence, and it will rebuild the bonds of kinship between our communities and our citizens, which has been lagging, wouldn’t you say?
For most of our nation’s history, American — and we see this — American Presidents have understood that in order to protect our economy and our security, we must protect our industry. And much of that comes at the border. George Washington encouraged Americans to produce their own goods so that our young nation could become truly independent.
So, once again, we will celebrate craftsmen, producers, and innovators like the incredible men and women in this room today. We will protect our workers, promote our industry, and be proud of our history because we will put America first. America will be first again. We will make America great again. Remember that. (Applause.) And we’ll meet in this same room in a year and in two years, and you’ll see what happened.

So this is being signed in honor of Made in America Day and Made in America Week, and soon we’re going to have Made in America Decades. We’re going to have a lot of tremendous success, and it’s already just starting to kick in.
You see it with the job numbers. You see it with the stock market, which hit an all-time high every day for quite a while now. You see it with so many other things. “First, I’d like to say that the president, of course, is leading the charge for civil rights today for the little unborn persons in the womb who have a right to live,” Dr. Alveda King said on Fox & Friends.
“I’m director of Civil Rights for the Unborn, and I say that everybody’s civil rights count from the womb to the tomb: the young, the old, the sick, the elderly, the babies in the womb, and everything,” she said.
During the interview, King was asked about comments from Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., who called Trump “uncaring” about civil rights.
She responded that she holds Lewis, a veteran of civil rights marches, in “great esteem” but suggested she differed with him on Trump.

“He’s one of the greatest defenders of non-violent conflict resolution, extending that olive branch,” King said of Lewis. “So everybody in America needs to do some homework and stop playing the race card.”
She said Trump “is certainly fighting for civil rights today and he has surrounded himself with African-American leaders and everyone that is supporting.”
King said that she did not see herself as standing up for the president as much as for the ideals that are integral to American society.
“We don’t have to defend the president,” said King. “I believe President Trump might agree that we are defending America. He’s leading the charge, and we are supporting him.”
King said that Trump has a grasp on the trials that African-Americans have faced in this country.
“Now, at the African-American museum, for example, he was knowledgeable of much of the history of African-Americans,” said King. “And when we stopped and we looked at some of the displays, the little slave manacles and things, he said, ‘this is terrible. You can’t do that to people.’”
She said Trump is surrounding himself with “knowledgeable people,” and praised him for standing up for civil rights as president.
“President Trump himself is a brilliant man. I believe he’s compassionate. If you go and look at all of the executive orders, the things for women and science, for African-American education, for moving into our communities with Dr. Ben Carson at HUD,” she said.

“In the America I grew up in, cities didn’t shield people who violated the law,” he said.
Homan blasted state and local authorities who do not cooperate with ICE’s efforts to deport illegal immigrants after they’re arrested. He said the strategy makes it more dangerous for ICE agents, who then must try to track down the suspects on the streets.
He said ICE will continue to place the higher priority on criminal aliens and those who represent a threat to the community.
Speaking to Neil Cavuto last week, Homan said those who cross the border illegally can no longer assume no one is looking for them.
“[President Trump] basically told [us] you can now do your job, you will enforce laws on your books. There’s no population of alien that’s off the table anymore and we’ve been waiting on that for a decade now,” said Homan.
Meantime, engineers have begun drilling and taking soil samples in preparation for construction of President Trump’s promised border wall in southwestern states.
The Department of Homeland Security is focusing on the San Diego area and the Rio Grande Valley as the highest priority areas for the wall.

McLarty argued that instead of just being anti-Trump, Democrats needed to “stand for something,” including a serious approach to strengthening the economy.
“I don’t think there’s any question that the message should be a real focus on jobs and how were really going to broaden and strengthen this economy,” McLarty said. “President Trump has proposed some ways to do that in terms of infrastructure development and tax reform, all hard but doable.”
The former Clinton staffer was commenting on responses to a question a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll that indicated only 37 percent of Americans think the Democratic Party stands for something, and 52 percent think the Democrats only stand against Trump.
“They’ve got to do more than just stand against Trump,” McLarty said. “I think it’s always difficult when you’re in the minority to come out with a coherent, broad message.”
So far, however, the message from Democrats has been fairly simple: “Trump is bad.” In fact, current Democrat lawmakers have spent the majority of the year finding ways to undermine Trump’s presidency or poke holes in the legitimacy of his election.
It’s easy to say that you disagree with someone’s political stance, but simply disagreeing with the president won’t — or shouldn’t — be enough to get you elected. Instead, you must have solid, effective policy ideas of your own. Unfortunately for Democrats, they’re still clinging to the same failed policies that plagued the country under former President Barack Obama’s administration.
And as we saw in the 2016 presidential election, those policies won’t get you elected anymore — which is probably why McLarty is advising his party to look to Trump for inspiration on how to appeal to voters.

Brandon Judd, the union’s president, said on Fox & Friends that the Border Patrol was not allowed to enforce immigration law over the last eight years because of the Obama administration’s catch-and release policies.
When asked to explain why the number of illegal border crossings has gone down so significantly under the Trump administration, Judd said that a message has been sent that “if you cross our borders illegally, you will be detained and you will be sent back.
“If you’re in the left, right or in the middle, you have to say this president has done exactly what he promised to do,” Judd said.
“We do have border security like what we expect to see,” he added.
Regarding Trump’s proposed wall along the U.S.-Mexican border, Judd said that the U.S. must “have to have a double-layered wall,” also known as a secondary fence.
“If you look at El Paso or San Diego where we did it right, illegal immigration has plummeted and if we do it right in strategic locations like what the president said, we’re going to control illegal immigration,” Judd said.
“I think it’s going to get done,” he said of the effort to build the border wall.
In March, U.S. Customs and Border Protection solicited proposals for two types of walls — one concrete barrier and another consisting of alternative materials which might include energy-producing solar panels.
U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement entered “phase two” of the process in June, announcing that it would construct up to eight prototypes for consideration.
While they await the wall, Judd said there is now a “vibe” and “energy” among Border Patrol officers that he has not seen during his 20-year career.
“We signed up to do a job and this president is allowing us to do that job,” he said.

“Part of it is motivated by our urban communities that are very blue and Democratic and have different ideas about the environment and workers rights. I think it’s just offensive to Republican leaders,” Gina Hinojosa, a Democratic state representative whose district includes the core of downtown Austin, said in an interview in her Capitol office.
“What we’ve seen in Texas is a growing rise of actions at the local level that infringe upon people’s liberty. And just like I fought back against the federal government that was infringing on people’s liberty, I’ll fight back against federal, state or any government that infringes upon people’s liberty,” Abbott said in an interview in San Antonio, where he kicked off his bid for a second term as governor.
“Austin is always number one on that target list,” Hinojosa said.
“These have really become just out-and-out fights between the state legislature and communities,” said Mark Pertschuk, who runs Grassroots Change. “This is an issue of democracy.”
“Almost everything that keeps us from being crushed to death or dying from chronic disease too early in the history of the United States has been done at the local level,” he said. Preemption laws “will stop innovation in civil rights, in safety and in community health.”
“Tell me in the [U.S.] Constitution where it mentions cities. Tell me where it mentions counties,” Abbott said. “The way the country was created, the way it was designed, the architecture of the United States of America puts states at the centerpiece. States create counties and cities and give them the authority that they can have.”
“People have gone from a rural setting in Texas to a largely urban setting. With these rules and regulations coming out the way they are, at the local level, there truly is a patchwork quilt of rules and regulations that makes it impossible for people to live their lives, to know how they’re governed,” Abbott said. “It makes it difficult for Texas to retain its brand as a low-government, low-tax state.”

According to WND: Eberwein was due to appear next Tuesday before the Haitian Senate Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission where he was widely expected to testify that the Clinton Foundation misappropriated Haiti earthquake donations from international donors.
He had served as director general of the Haitian government’s economic development agency, Fonds d’assistance économique et social, for three years.
According to Eberwein, a paltry 0.6 percent of donations granted by international donors to the Clinton Foundation with the express purpose of directly assisting Haitians actually ended up in the hands of Haitian organizations. A further 9.6 percent ended up with the Haitian government. The remaining 89.8 percent – or $5.4 billion – was funneled to non-Haitian organizations.
“The Clinton Foundation, they are criminals, they are thieves, they are liars, they are a disgrace,” Eberwein said at a protest outside the Clinton Foundation headquarters in Manhattan last year.
It was reported that Eberwien was in ‘good spirits’ with plans for the future, before the 50-year-old committed ‘suicide’.
“It’s really shocking,” said friend Gilbert Bailly. “We grew up together; he was like family.”

A brief timeline released overnight helps to resolve questions over how Natalia Veselnitskaya even had legal permission to be in the U.S. And it also shows multiple Obama agencies were involved on multiple occasions in granting access to the lawyer after she was initially denied a visa.
According to the timeline released by the Department of Homeland Security, the Obama Justice and Homeland Security departments granted her a special type of “parole” to be in the U.S. from September 2015 through February 2016 to work on a court case in New York. After that expired, according to DHS, the State Department issued her a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa in June 2016, according to DHS, just in time for her meeting with Trump Jr., Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner and then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

That newly revealed meeting has revived congressional scrutiny of the campaign’s alleged coordination with Russia, since an intermediary told Trump Jr. the lawyer could have dirt on Hillary Clinton as part of the Russian government’s bid to help his dad.
While Trump Jr. has since said, in hindsight, he would have done things differently, his father on Thursday took a more defiant tone and seemed to blame the Obama administration for letting the lawyer into the country.
Her unusual entry into the U.S. has sparked a furious round of finger-pointing among federal agencies, and the buck appears to stop at the State Department, with assistance from both DOJ and DHS.
But the timeline released overnight at least clarifies how she had approval to be in the U.S., if not why.
“Ms. Veselnitskaya was subsequently paroled into the U.S. several times between 2015 and 2016, ending in February 2016. In June 2016, she was issued a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa by the U.S. Department of State,” a DHS spokesperson told Fox News Thursday night.
DHS officials also said that it was their agency “in concurrence with the U.S. Attorney’s Office of Southern District of New York” which paroled Veselnitskaya into the U.S. Fox News confirmed through court documents that Veselnitskaya initially “applied for a visa to enter the United States, but was denied.”
Preet Bharara was the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York at the time the parole was granted.

Veselnitskaya was issued a “Significant Public Benefit Parole” document on Sept. 25, 2015, according to DHS, which expired on Jan. 7, 2016. Veselnitskaya requested an extension to continue her work on the case, but the Southern District of New York’s attorneys’ office denied her request.
“She was not granted a second parole by our office,” SDNY spokesman James Margolin told Fox news in an email. “Her case-related immigration parole ended early in 2016, and it was not renewed by us.”
The U.S. attorney’s office told Fox News on Thursday that Veselnitskaya was indeed granted initial parole by their office, but did not know who, specifically, issued the “piece of paper.”

“Somebody said that her visa or passport to come into the country was approved by Attorney General Lynch, now maybe that’s wrong, I just heard that a little while ago…[that] she was here because of Lynch,” Trump said at a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday in Paris.
Prior to DHS pointing fingers at the Department of State, a State spokesperson told Fox News that they had “no further information to provide.” The State Department told Fox News Wednesday that the Department is prohibited by the Immigration and Nationality Act from discussing individual visa cases, and told Fox News that all visa applications are adjudicated on a case-by-case basis.
The State Department did not respond to Fox News’ request to confirm that they issued Veselnitskaya a B1/B2 non-immigrant visa, or comment on Veselnitskaya’s current immigration status.

Acting Chief of Media Relations for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Gillian Christensen told Fox News on Thursday that a range of DHS agencies would typically deal with parole requests, but USCIS was not involved in this particular case.
The type of parole Veselnitskaya was granted is given “sparingly” and in “extraordinary circumstances,” including urgent humanitarian reasons, such as medical or family emergency. Broadly speaking, Christensen told Fox News that parole may be requested for a person who “believes his or her presence in the United States will be a significant public benefit,” and cited participation in a civil court case as an example.
“Parole allows an individual to enter the United States and remain for a temporary period corresponding to the reason parole was approved,” Christensen told Fox News. “Parole is not generally authorized for more than one year.”
