Close to 100,000 Christians are being killed every year because of their faith, according to statistics from a Pew Research Survey and the International Society for Human Rights, a non-religious organization. These figures, which represent an “unprecedented,” number of death per year amount to 273 Christian killed daily, or 11 every hour, said Bishop John McAreavey, chairman of the Council for Justice and Peace. McAreavey, speaking to the Irish parliament on behalf of the Irish Catholic Bishop’s Conference, said, “Eighty percent of all acts of religious discrimination in the world today are directed against Christians.” Christian Persecution

The bishop added that an ever great number of Christians are “being tortured, imprisoned, exiled, threatened, excluded, attacked and discriminated against on a widespread scale.”

McAreavey quoted the former Chief Rabbi of Britain, Lord Jonathan Sacks, who said that the persecution of Christians is “one of the crimes against humanity of our time.” Sacks compared the reality of today’s suffering Christians to the Jews were terrorized by the pogroms in Europe. Sacks said he was “appalled at the lack of protest it has evoked.”

As to reasons why Western governments have not helped these populations, McAreavey suggested, “Perhaps because of a fear of being seen as less than aggressively secular in their own country, many governments of majority Christian countries in the West seem reluctant to give direct aid to churches and religious minorities.”Leftist determonation to destroy freedom of religion

A Catholic nun who escaped from Iraq after being driven out of her home by the Islamic State in August, 2014, recently testified before Congress. “This is cultural and human genocide,” said Sister Diana Momeka. “Christians have for centuries been the bridge that connects Eastern and Western cultures. Destroying this bridge will leave an isolated, inculturated conflict zone emptied of cultural and religious diversity.”freedom combo 2

Glenn Beck: ‘Prepare for all-out war’

against America

Glenn Beck

Former Fox News host-turned-media-giant Glenn Beck issued a dire warning to America, telling citizens to be on guard and prepare – all-out war is coming. “I would suggest that you prepare for all-out war,” he said in a recent broadcast, Raw Story reported. “War unlike we’ve ever seen in our lifetime because that’s what I believe is coming, unfortunately. I’m hoping that there’s a way to put this genie back into the bottle, but I don’t see it.”war drums

Beck said he feared “losing our country” and said another Sept. 11-type attack would prove a devastation to the nation, Mediaite reported.

“We talk about World War II, where they did shock and awe,” Beck’s co-host Stu Burguiere said. “Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of civilians died. It was not a pretty picture. And obviously war is hell, but is there any way that America — with the backbone we have today, with the 99 percenters and Occupy Wall Street as part of this country, with all that — they are going to accept a war effort like that?”

Beck said the next truly devastating terrorist attack will be perpetrated by “home-grown” terrorists, and “they will be in multiple cities, so you won’t know” what to expect next.

He said, in context of discussing the ISIS vow to harm the president and raise the terrorist flag over the White House: “Did you see what ISIS came out and said? That ISIS, their number one goal now is to hit America and kill the president. I cannot imagine. That would change perspectives entirely.’

“We got the Patriot Act the last time. Can you even imagine what the Department of Homeland Security would do if they, God forbid, hurt the president?”muslim-obama

Beck also said a different president – a Republican chief – would prove the better defender of America in a coming all-out war.

“We would bomb the snot out of them, if you had a Republican,” he said. “If we had President Barack Obama, I think we would just go on some apology tour. But if we had some economic collapse where people were frightened – really, truly frightened – and then on top of it we had some really bad terrorist attack, I think we would.”was

Emails reportedly show confidant told Clinton Benghazi attack planned by fighters tied to Al Qaeda

Published May 21, 2015, FoxNews.com

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/05/21/emails-reportedly-show-confidant-told-clinton-benghazi-attack-planned-by-aq/

A longtime Clinton confidant reportedly advised then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton two days after the 2012 Benghazi terror attack that an Al Qaeda-tied group had planned the deadly assault and used a protest as cover — but despite this warning, Clinton’s U.N. ambassador went on to publicly claim the attack was “spontaneous.”

The guidance from ex-Clinton aide Sidney Blumenthal was contained in a memo sent Sept. 13, according to The New York Times. It is the latest documentation effectively contradicting the administration’s early narrative that the attack was driven by protests over an anti-Islam Internet video — and raising questions over why officials stuck to that story for days.  According to the Times, Blumenthal initially blamed “demonstrators” angry over that video for the attacks. But the next day, he sent Clinton a very different memo. According to the Times, Blumenthal told Clinton the attack was driven by Al Qaeda-tied Ansar al-Shariah members who had planned it for a month and used a protest as cover. He cited “sensitive sources.”

“We should get this around asap,” Clinton reportedly told an adviser in response. Yet, despite this guidance, then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice would go on several television programs Sept. 16 to claim the attacks were “spontaneous,” and not premeditated, and link them to protests over the anti-Islam video.

The State Department would later admit there was no protest on the ground in Benghazi that day. The role of the video continues to be debated to this day, but a mounting body of evidence has emerged showing multiple assessments that the attack was to some degree planned.  Fox News reported earlier this week that a Defense Intelligence Agency report from Sept. 12 also said there were indicators the attack was planned and meant as retaliation for a drone strike that killed an Al Qaeda strategist.

The memo, obtained through a federal lawsuit by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch, said: “The attack was planned ten or more days prior to approximately 01 September 2012. The intention was to attack the consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for the US killing of Aboyahiye (Alaliby) in Pakistan and in memorial of the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center buildings.” Additional memos surfaced last year indicating Rice — now the national security adviser — was prepped before those Sept. 16 Sunday shows. One email from a top administration adviser specifically drew attention to the anti-Islam Internet video, without distinguishing whether the Benghazi attack was different from protests elsewhere in the region which were over the video.

The email listed the following goal, among others: “To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.”

A congressional committee is probing the handling of the Benghazi attacks, and the administration’s Internet-video narrative is sure to be just one of many aspects investigated. The emails reported by the Times were part of a batch given to that committee. The Times reported that Blumenthal, who has been subpoenaed by the committee, sent at least 25 memos on Libya to Clinton, including several on the 2012 attacks.

The Times earlier reported that while he was sending memos, Blumenthal also was advising business associates who were hoping to win contracts from Libya’s transitional post-Qaddafi government. The Times report did not make clear what, if anything, Clinton and the State Department knew of Blumenthal’s involvement in any potential business projects in Libya. The Times also reported Thursday that the former secretary of state’s emails reflected she had “sensitive but unclassified” information in her account — operated on a personal email address.

This reportedly included information on travel plans of U.S. officials in Libya.

Major Gay Marriage Study Was Fabricated, Author Admits

A study purporting to show that people’s views on gay marriage could change simply by meeting gay people has been retracted following revelations that its data was fabricated. The study was published last December in Science, and prior to publication drew a great deal of attention from the American media. Vox, for instance, described the findings in the study as “kind of miraculous.” As it turns out, that’s exactly what they were, because they were apparently made up.Picture2

According to the study, people from communities hostile to gay marriage could have their opinions shift dramatically after spending just a few minutes speaking with a gay person who canvassed their neighborhood promoting gay marriage. Not only that, but this could have a spillover effect, making not just the people themselves more pro-gay but also other people who lived in the same household.

The study, among other things, lent support to the notion that those opposed to gay marriage simply don’t know or interact with open homosexuals. More broadly, it was seen as an important development in the science of how people can be convinced to change their minds on ideologically-charged issues.

The study began to fall apart when students at the University of California at Berkeley sought to conduct additional research building off of it, only to find major irregularities in how its research was apparently conducted. For example, thermometers used to measure participants’ attitudes produced consistent, reliable information, even though they are known for producing relatively unreliable numbers. Also, the data recovered had an exceptionally consistent distribution, with not a single one of the 12,000 supposed participants providing anomalous or unusual results. In other words, the study’s data was too perfect to be believable.

Donald Green, a professor at Columbia University and a co-author of the paper, made the decision to retract it after having a confrontation with co-author Michael LaCour, a graduate student at UCLA. While LaCour maintained that he hadn’t fabricated the data, he was also unable to produce the original source files supposedly used to produce it. When he failed to write-up a retraction, Green took the initiative and did so himself. “I am deeply embarrassed by this turn of events and apologize to the editors, reviewers, and readers of Science,” Green told Retraction Watch, a science watchdog website.Party of Deciet and lies

LaCour, the graduate student accused of fabricating at least some of the data, made a Twitter post Wednesday afternoon saying he was “gathering evidence” about what had occurred:

Federal Court Forces University of Notre Dame to Obey Pro-Abortion HHS Mandate

waving flagReported by Steven Ertelt, May 20, 2015, Washington, DC

Leftist determonation to destroy freedom of religion

A federal appeals court has denied a request by the University of Notre Dame to get out of having to comply with the pro-abortion HHS mandate that is a part of Obamacare and requires businesses and church groups to pay for abortion-causing drugs for their employees. Notre Dame won a victory at the Supreme Court earlier this year. After a lower court dismissed the lawsuit, in March the Supreme Court ordered the lower court to reconsider its ruling that denied a Catholic university the freedom to follow its faith. But, today, a panel of a federal appeals court ruled that Notre Dame must comply with the mandate.Complete Message

SCOTUS blog has more on the decision the appeals court issued:Tyranney Alert

In a two-to-one ruling, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit cleared the way for a trial of the university’s challenge but denied any immediate religious exemption.

This marked the first time that a federal appeals court had rejected a claim that the Supreme Court’s ruling last June in the case of Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores should shield a non-profit religious organization from any role whatsoever in carrying out the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate. The issue seems certain to return to the Justices, probably next Term, although Notre Dame could try to get some temporary relief by returning quickly to the Supreme Court.

The university’s case has yet to go to trial in a federal district court, so the appeals court ruling was limited to denying preliminary protection for the university in the meantime.  Still, it was a strong signal that the Roman Catholic institution may have a hard time, at least in lower courts, getting an exemption.burke

Although the government has made clear that non-profit groups need to take only a minimal step to take advantage of a religious exemption, Notre Dame — like some other non-profits — has been arguing that even taking such a step would mean that it had helped to implement the mandate in a way that violates its religious opposition to birth control.

Although the Supreme Court has now issued four temporary orders in non-profit cases, it has made clear that none of those was a decision on whether such institutions will ultimately be spared any role at all under the ACA mandate.  This Term, the Court has sent two of those cases — Notre Dame’s was one of them — back to appeals courts to examine the impact, if any, that the Hobby Lobby ruling would have on the non-profit sector.

Circuit Judge Joel M. Flaum dissented, saying that Notre Dame had already made a case for an exemption, and so enforcement of the mandate should have been blocked.

The university has the legal option of asking for further review by the en banc Seventh Circuit or instead returning to the Supreme Court.   The Justices have only about six more weeks remaining in the current Term, so it would be too late to get a formal appeal decided before the summer recess.CP 01

After the ruling, pro-life Indiana Senator Dan Coats criticized the decision.

“Requiring faith-based institutions to betray the fundamental tenets of their beliefs is unconstitutional and contrary to the cherished American tradition of religious liberty. Whether it is Notre Dame or many other faith-based institutions of higher learning, the thread of faith that runs through these schools is essential to their religious beliefs and successful administration of a faith in learning education. This same thread of faith is vital to food banks, homeless shelters and many important organizations addressing social needs in Indiana and across the country,” he said.

Coats continued: “Under our Constitution, all people of all faiths have the right to exercise their faith within the bounds of our justice system, even if their beliefs seem to some as misguided, flawed or flat out wrong. Faith-based institutions should not have to facilitate insurance coverage for products that are counter to their religious or moral beliefs.”Worship manditory

compliancePreviously, U.S. District Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. dismissed the suit, claiming that Notre Dame is sufficiently protected by a very narrowly-drawn religious exemption in the mandate — that pro-life legal groups say does not apply to every religious entity. Then, a three-judge panel from the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the decision on a 2-1 vote.

In appealing that decision, the University of Notre Dame brought its request to the Supreme Court — saying the lower court decision made it the only nonprofit religious ministry in the nation without protection from the HHS mandate. The Supreme Court’s ruling today vacates the entire lower court decision forcing Notre Dame to comply and the 7th Circuit must now review its decision taking into consideration the entire Hobby Lobby case I want your religious libertyupholding that company’s right to not be forced into compliance.

The Obama administration has relied heavily on that lower court decision in other courts around the country, arguing that it should be able to impose similar burdens on religious ministries like the Little Sisters of the Poor.

After the Supreme Court ruling in the Notre Dame case, the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which filed an amicus brief in the case, commented on the decision.

notredame2

“This is a major blow to the federal government’s contraception mandate. For the past year, the Notre Dame decision has been the centerpiece of the government’s effort to force religious ministries to violate their beliefs or pay fines to the IRS.” said Mark Rienzi, Senior Counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which filed an amicus brief in the case. “As with the Supreme Court’s decisions in Little Sisters of the Poor and Hobby Lobby, this is a strong signal that the Supreme Court will ultimately reject the government’s narrow view of religious liberty. The government fought hard to prevent this GVR, but the Supreme Court rejected their arguments.”

tyrantsHe said University of Notre Dame’s pursuit of higher education is defined by its religious convictions. Its mission statement reads: “A Catholic university draws its basic inspiration from Jesus Christ as the source of wisdom and from the conviction that in him all things can be brought to their completion.” Its fight to stay true to its beliefs has brought it all the way to the Supreme Court – and back to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

According to Rienzi, over 750 plaintiffs in the other nonprofit cases have been granted protection from the unconstitutional mandate, which forces religious ministries to either violate their faith or pay massive IRS penalties.

A December 2013 Rasmussen Reports poll shows Americans disagree with forcing companies like Hobby Lobby to obey the mandate.

“Half of voters now oppose a government requirement that employers provide health insurance with free contraceptives for their female employees,” Rasmussen reports.

The poll found: “The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 38% of Likely U.S. Voters still believe businesses should be required by law to provide health insurance that covers all government-approved contraceptives for women without co-payments or other charges to the patient.’

“Fifty-one percent (51%) disagree and say employers should not be required to provide health insurance with this type of coverage. Eleven percent (11%) are not sure.”

Another recent poll found 59 percent of Americans disagree with the mandate.Welcome to the Obama Change Obey OARLogo Picture6

Market Rigging: 5 Major Banks Plead Guilty – Fined $5.7 Billion

waving flagReported by

The Obama Department of Justice announced Wednesday that Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, JPMorgan Chase, UBS and Citigroup all pled guilty to manipulating global currencies and interest rates. No one actually had justice brought on them though. Instead, the banks were fined a whopping $5.7 billion!

Business Insider reports:

US banks JPMorgan and Citigroup and Britain’s Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland are expected to plead guilty to criminal charges with the US Department of Justice related to forex manipulation, people familiar with the matter said.

It would be unprecedented for the parent companies or main banking arms of so many major banks to plead guilty to criminal charges in a coordinated action. JPMorgan and Citigroup would be the first major US banks to plead guilty to criminal charges in decades.

Swiss bank UBS is expected to avoid a criminal charge after getting immunity for alerting authorities to a possible problem. But it faces a criminal charge over the rigging of benchmark (Libor) interest rates, two people familiar with the matter said.

That stems from an agreement with the Justice Department in its December 2012 Libor settlement not to commit more offences. It will also pay a $200 million fine, the two sources said.

Barclays is also expected to reach settlements with other British and US regulators, which means its penalties could be significantly higher than the other banks and top $2 billion.

Barclays has set aside $3.2 billion to cover any forex fines, and other banks also have provisions for settlements.

The obvious question that should be upon Americans’ minds is, where will this $5.7 billion go?

The New York Times reports:

In addition to the criminal cases with the Justice Department, the banks each struck settlements with Mr. Lawsky as well as federal regulators. Barclays settled with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Reserve, the Financial Conduct Authority of London and Mr. Lawsky, paying a total sum of $2.4 billion.

Citigroup paid the second-highest penalty, roughly $1.2 billion, including a $925 million antitrust penalty, the largest single fine ever imposed for a violation of the Sherman Act. JPMorgan paid roughly $900 million, and R.B.S. paid about $660 million.

UBS agreed to pay more than $500 million, some of which was earmarked for the Libor crimes and the rest for currency manipulation. The bank, which was the first to cooperate in the currency case, was not criminally charged in that matter.

Remember who is in charge of the Justice Department, none other than asset forfeiture thief Loretta Lynch. We have several elected servants to thank for that.

“Today’s historic resolutions are the latest in our ongoing efforts to investigate and prosecute financial crimes, and they serve as a stark reminder that this Department of Justice intends to vigorously prosecute all those who tilt the economic system in their favor; who subvert our marketplaces; and who enrich themselves at the expense of American consumers,” said Attorney General Lynch.  “The penalty these banks will now pay is fitting considering the long-running and egregious nature of their anticompetitive conduct.  It is commensurate with the pervasive harm done.  And it should deter competitors in the future from chasing profits without regard to fairness, to the law, or to the public welfare.”

“They acted as partners, rather than competitors, in an effort to push the exchange rate in directions favorable to their banks, but detrimental to many others,” Lynch said. “The prices the market sets for those currencies influence virtually every sector of every economy in the world. Their actions inflated the bank’s profits, while harming countless consumers, investors and institutions around the globe.”

“The charged conspiracy fixed the U.S. dollar – euro exchange rate, affecting currencies that are at the heart of international commerce and undermining the integrity and the competitiveness of foreign currency exchange markets which account for hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of transactions every day,” said Assistant Attorney General Baer.  “The seriousness of the crime warrants the parent-level guilty pleas by Citicorp, Barclays, JPMorgan and RBS.”

“The five parent-level guilty pleas that the department is announcing today communicate loud and clear that we will hold financial institutions accountable for criminal misconduct,” said Assistant Attorney General Caldwell.  “And we will enforce the agreements that we enter into with corporations.  If appropriate and proportional to the misconduct and the company’s track record, we will tear up an NPA or a DPA and prosecute the offending company.”

“These resolutions make clear that the U.S. Government will not tolerate criminal behavior in any sector of the financial markets,” said Assistant Director in Charge McCabe.  “This investigation represents another step in the FBI’s ongoing efforts to find and stop those responsible for complex financial schemes for their own personal benefit.  I commend the special agents, forensic accountants, and analysts, as well as the prosecutors for the significant time and resources they committed to investigating this case.”

I am glad to see that banks are at least pleading guilty to their corruption. What bothers me is that no actual justice is taking place. There is no restitution to the millions of people that have been taken for a ride by these banking cartels. They just continue on, have and will likely receive more bailouts from the public at the hands of America’s elected “servants” and will increase fees, as well as nickel and dime their customers for the almighty dollar.

When are the American people going to have enough of corrupt banksters, corrupt politicians and a corrupt federal government? Perhaps, it will be when we stop being corrupt ourselves.

On May 14, protesters, upset with not being paid their promised checks for protesting, protested outside MORE, Missourians Organizing For Reform and Empowerment, an ACORN organization which had received funding through George Soros to fund the protests.

They even started a hashtag, #cutthechecks, to demand their money(@organizemo is the Twitter account of MORE):

Some folks had apparently been paid like Deray McKesson, and others hadn’t, causing further discord.

This protester indicates those who protested for more money were paid $2700 to stop making a fuss, but it would then impact the ability to protest over the summer in #Ferguson:

After protesters protested not getting their checks from MORE on May 14th, MORE allegedly distributed the following list as to who was paid to protest in Ferguson and elsewhere, to show where the money had been going.

Obviously, as we’ve mentioned before, this is far from a ‘grass roots spontaneous’ protest.

You can see money paid out to Lisa Fithian, $1,127.75 for ‘visit expenses’.

For those who do not know, Lisa Fithian is an infamous leftist organizer. She organized at Occupy, but has been used as a training organizer for many years before that. She spent time in Ferguson in 2014 training people to ‘simulate chaos’.
Screen Shot 2015-05-18 at 9.08.32 PM

Also of note, you can see that some people are being paid to travel to other places to protest, you can see the travel to Selma, and to D.C., as well as money paid out for ‘vans’, including to a union for providing the vans. Lisa Fithian got $2000 for ‘activist trip to Baltimore’.

There is money paid for protester supplies and protester catering, as well as for video recording of the protests. Some things were not so defined such as $2000 to Taylor Payne for ‘support’.

$52,815 is paid to MORE. Money clearly was to go through them to the protesters, according to the protesters during their #cutthechecks protest.

There are big payouts to Jeff Ordower. Jeff Ordower is a bit like a male Lisa Fithian, he was an organizer for the SEIU and ACORN. He founded MORE and his stated goal is “welcoming co-conspirators in attempts to scale up numbers of radical organizers who can financially support themselves in the work”. He is the white man protesters are complaining to in this clip, when they protested not getting paid. He would appear to be disburser of the checks.

Brittany Ferrell and Ashley Yates receive thousands on behalf of MAU, Millenial Activists United, one of the protester groups. Ferrell, tries to justify her position in this Facebook post where she blames Ordower for screwing everything up.

Two Important Articles That Are Relevant For Conservatives and Christians

Proposed Federal Law: Don’t Sway People from Homosexuality — or Else

Written by  Selwyn Duke Tuesday, 19 May 2015

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/item/20909-proposed-federal-law-don-t-sway-people-from-homosexuality-or-else

In the beginning, the homosexual agenda was about the right to be an “out” Proposed Federal Law: Don’t Sway People from Homosexuality — or Elsehomosexual without government interference.

Now it’s about using the government to prohibit efforts to get out of homosexuality.

And the latest attack on this front is the ominously named “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act” (TFPA), which would ban same-sex-attraction and “gender identity” reparative therapy. This is psychological counseling whose goal is to help people mitigate or eliminate unwanted same-sex attractions or the phenomenon whereby a person’s perceived sex doesn’t match his actual one.

The TFPA was introduced in Congress today by Representative Ted Lieu (D-Calif.), who authored his state’s 2012 ban on reparative therapy. After the Golden State’s action, D.C. and New Jersey (with Governor Chris Christie’s signature) followed suit in prohibiting the therapy, and a similar ban is in front of openly bisexual governor Kate Brown of Oregon.

Yet while the above bills prohibit only reparative therapy for minors, according to Philly’s Josh Middleton, the TFPA would apply to all ages. Moreover, while the wisdom of such bans should be questioned, there’s no question that states have the constitutional power to enact them. Yet nowhere in the Constitution is the federal government empowered to involve itself in such matters.

As to what this involvement would be, Middleton provides some details, writing, “The ‘Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act,’ explains the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), ‘would amend the Federal Trade Commission Act to clarify that providing conversion [reparative] therapy to any person in exchange for monetary compensation or advertising such services is an unfair or deceptive act or practice. This legislation would give the Federal Trade Commission the duty to enforce this provision in accordance with existing law.’”

Of course, labeling the therapy “deceptive,” critics would say, is deception itself; it’s predicated on the unproven notions that same-sex attraction and “gender identity” are always inborn and unchangeable, and that trying to alter them has negative psychological effects.

Adding to the deception, Lieu states at his website that reparative therapy “is a dangerous but often overlooked form of discrimination against LGBT Americans.” Yet this turns truth on its head. No one is forcing anyone else to participate in therapy. It is Lieu’s bill that discriminates by, as Regina Griggs, executive director of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays, put it, taking “away the rights of parents and children to receive help.”

Junk Science?

Lieu calls reparative therapy “crappery” while Griggs position is that his “legislation was not based on science,” writes the Washington Times. So where does the junk science truly lie?

One fashionable idea underpinning Lieu’s argument is that homosexuality, and this could apply to “gender identity” as well, is inborn. Yet despite media obfuscation, no “gay gene” (pertaining to happiness or homosexuality) has been discovered. In fact, a 2001 Columbia University study found that among identical twins (who share identical genetics), the same-sex attraction experienced by one was shared by the other only 10 percent of the time. And while there are theories regarding how intrauterine hormonal anomalies might lead to a lack of masculinization of a boy’s brain — creating a lad who supposedly has a “female brain” — brain scans aren’t used in particular cases to prove the innateness of homosexuality or “gender identity” (note: this usage of “gender” is agenda-driven. The term should be applied only to words). So, put simply, the science is inconclusive.

But history may not be. For example, homosexuality was institutionalized in ancient Spartan military camps, and it wasn’t uncommon for Athenian men to chase after adolescent boys. Does this mean that most all ancient Greeks had a “gay gene”?

Let’s accept for argument’s sake, however, the supposition that homosexuality can be inborn. Given the historical point above, and common sense’s dictates, would anyone say that same-sex attraction could not be a purely psychological phenomenon in even 1 out of 10,000 cases? That would be a truly radical assertion. But if it is possible, then it could be so in 2 out of 10,000 as well, no? Or it could be 10, 20, or 50.

Or 200.

The point is that science can’t say — and Ted Lieu certainly doesn’t know. Yet he would deny psychological help to those in whom same-sex attraction is a purely psychological phenomenon.

But what if it is inborn, at least in certain cases? Isn’t trying to change it then a trespass? Well, this philosophy isn’t applied to most anything else. There are many inborn abnormalities, such as cleft lip, Spina bifida, Down syndrome, club foot, and Tay-Sachs disease. We happily remedy them whenever possible, unimpeded by people saying, as activists do when justifying homosexual behavior, “God doesn’t make mistakes.”

Speaking of which, one also might ask: If “God doesn’t make mistakes” (and, presumably, everything is ordained), why do the same activists advocate so-called “gender-reassignment surgery”? Shouldn’t we conclude that if God wanted you to be a member of the opposite sex, He would have created you that way? And consider further the contradiction: Lieu and his fellow travelers would forbid doctors from trying to change people’s minds — which could be a purely psychological process — but happily allow doctors to change their bodies, which certainly are innately determined.

The reality is that inborn status tells us nothing about correctness. Factors between the ears are no exception, either, and it’s particularly dangerous to assume otherwise in their case. As I wrote in February:

The same social scientists telling us homosexuality is innate also claim that psychopaths are born and not made. Does this make psychopathy a legitimate state of being? And what if it’s found that some people are born with homicidal instincts? Would it be okay for them to commit murder?

… Then there’s this study indicating that racial bias is innate. Will the Left now move to rescind anti-discrimination law?

Some may now say murder and racial discrimination are different because they hurt another person. (Of course, others assert that engaging in deviant sexual behavior with another also hurts the person.) But if what “hurts” others is to be our yardstick for determining rightness, then the inborn argument becomes irrelevant. As I continued:

After all, whether or not an action reflects inborn urges tells us nothing about whether or not it hurts another.

Stating the obvious, the inborn argument could be applied to anything inborn. Logically translated it says: If a feeling is innate, the actions associated with it are okay. This eliminates morality completely and replaces it with biological determinism (BD). This is why accepting the BD argument means accepting everything that can be proven to be inborn — even if it’s pedophilia, bestiality, or murder. It’s just a slightly more sophisticated way of saying “If it feels good, do it.” But biology does not determine morality.

Unfortunately, morality doesn’t generally determine politicians’ actions. The good news is that as with sexual feelings but with far less difficulty, politicians can be changed.

Huckabee: Gays ‘Won’t Stop Until There Are No More Churches’ No More People ‘Spreading the Gospel’

By Michael W. Chapman | May 19, 2015

Commenting on the attacks against Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act by gay activists and liberals, former Gov. Mike Huckabee said it was a “phony crisis” manufactured by the left, but it revealed how intolerant they are of Bible-believeing Christians and showed that they “won’t stop until there are no more churches” and “no more people who are spreading the gospel.”

The attacks on Christianity “won’t stop until there are no more churches, until there are no more people who are spreading the Gospel, and I’m talking now about the unabridged, unapologetic Gospel that is really God’s truth,” said the former Arkansas governor and ordained Southern Baptist minister during an interview on “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins.”

The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) is a law that says no business or enterprise can be forced to provide a service if the business owners believe it would “substantially burden” their religious beliefs. Nineteen other states, in addition ot Indiana, have RFRA laws and Congress passed a federal RFRA that was signed into law by liberal President Bill Clinton in 1993. However, when Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, a Republican, signed his state’s RFRA into law in March, homosexual activists protested, including Apple CEO Tim Cook,  and liberals such as Hillary Clinton, claiming the legislation was discriminatory.

Within a few days, the Indiana legislature made revisions to the Religious Freedom Restoration Act to pacify the left-wing critics.

Speaking about this to radio host Tony Perkins, who also is the president of the Family Research Council, Huckabee said, “Tony, this is bizarre and I think it’s a phony crisis. It’s been manufactured by the left, just as was the war on women. There was no war on women. The left has gotten very good at creating a crisis, something to divide the country, something to create the sense in which ‘we have to go after these conservatives because they’re trying to trample over our rights.’”

“It is a classic example of, really, a page out of 1984 when what things mean are the opposite of what they really are, and that’s what I’m seeing here,” said Huckabee. “In the name of tolerance, there’s intolerance. In the name of diversity, there’s uniformity. In the name of acceptance, there’s true discrimination. It’s just bizarre. And the sad thing is a lot of these major companies and CEOs are just capitulating.”

“Here’s what’s even sadder to me,” he said.  “A lot of the people in the political realm are just deciding that it’s easier to fold and quit than it is to fight. The result of that is we invite more of this. Nobody likes to have a fight, nobody likes to be hated. Sometimes you just have to stand up and say, you’re wrong on the issue and I’m not backing down because your facts are not facts. They’re fiction, and we’re not going to stop.’”

In response, Tony Perkins said, “The core principle of a civil society is that we all are different and we have different beliefs and different ideas, and we tolerate one another.  The idea that you would go into a place of business that engages in – we’re talking about wedding vendors here – and force someone to do something that’s against their will instead of just saying, all right,  I don’t agree with you and I don’t like that you don’t like what I’m doing but, you know what, I’m going to go next door to the other florist. Instead of doing that, what they’re doing is using the government to force somebody to engage in something. Now, some people will say it’s just this thing with same-sex weddings. No, actually, if as you pointed out earlier, where does this stop? Where will it stop?”

Huckabee said, “It won’t stop until there are no more churches, until there are no more people who are spreading the Gospel, and I’m talking now about the unabridged, unapologetic Gospel that is really God’s truth.”

Michael Dale “Mike” Huckabee, 59, is married and has four children. In addition to his political career and work as a Christian minister, Huckabee has written several books, including the 2008 New York Times best seller Do The Right Thing: Inside The Movement That’s Bringing Common Sense Back to America.   His latest book is God, Guns, Grits and Gravy.

Teacher allegedly let students have sex in his storage closet….

“He told my son you can have it from 7:30 to 8:30. Did you tell the girl what’ s going to happen, that she cannot tell anybody? Basically don’t tell anyone I’m allowing you to use my room,” she said, paraphrasing the messages.

STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (WSB) — A teacher in Georgia is out of a job and facing charges for allegedly allowing students to have sex in his classroom’s closet, officials said. A parent told PIX11 News sister station WSB she has proof the sexual escapades took place with the teacher’s knowledge.

“I was in a state of disbelief when I read all these messages,” the mom, who asked to remain anonymous, said.

She said she looked at her 14-year-old son’s phone and discovered a shocking exchange of text messages last week between him and Quinton Wright, a math teacher and coach at Champion Theme Middle School in Stone Mountain, Ga.

“Basically he’s allowing the students to have sex in a storage room in his classroom,” the boy’s mom said. She went on to read some of the texts between her son and allegedly the teacher. “He told my son you can have it from 7:30 to 8:30. Did you tell the girl what’ s going to happen, that she cannot tell anybody? Basically don’t tell anyone I’m allowing you to use my room,” she said, paraphrasing the messages. The mother said the teacher also sent her son a calendar showing teachers’ schedules and a txt saying he did not have condoms.

“It’s very sickening and disheartening, because we trust administrators and educators when we drop our kids off at school,” the mom said.

She pulled her eighth grader from school, contacted the principal and went to the police to file a report. The Dekalb school system removed the 25-year-old teacher from the classroom. A judge issued an arrest warrant for Wright on Monday. There’s no word yet on what specific charges he’s facing.OARLogo Picture6

Ann Coulter Letter: “Knowing What We Know Now, Would You Say Jeb Bush Is Retarded?”

Knowing What We Know Now, Would You Say Jeb Bush Is Retarded?

Was Jeb Bush too busy watching telenovelas during his brother’s presidency to remember the Iraq War?

We went to war at such breakneck speed after 9/11, that, before the invasion, I was able to write approximately 30 columns about it, give five dozen speeches on it, discuss it on TV a hundred times and read 1,089 New York Times editorials denouncing the “rush to war.”

So I remember the arguments.

Contrary to the fairy tale the left has told itself since Obama truculently gave away America’s victory in Iraq, our argument wasn’t that we had to invade Iraq because of Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction. And the left’s argument certainly was not: “He doesn’t have any WMDs!”

Our argument was: There were lots of reasons to get rid of Saddam Hussein, and none to keep him.

Indeed, after Bush’s State of the Union address laying out the case for war with Iraq, The New York Times complained that he had given too many reasons: “Even the rationale for war seems to change from day to day. Mr. Bush ticked off a litany of accusations against Iraq in his State of the Union address …” (New York Times, Feb. 2, 2003)

Among the reasons we invaded Iraq were:

(1) Saddam had given shelter to terrorists who killed Americans. After 9/11, it was time for him to pay the price:

– The mastermind of the Achille Lauro hijacking, Abu Abbas, who murdered a wheelchair-bound American citizen, Leon Klinghoffer, then forced the passengers to throw his body overboard, was living happily in Iraq. (Captured by U.S. forces in Baghdad less than a month after our invasion.)

– The terrorist who orchestrated the murder of American diplomat Laurence Foley in October 2002, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, also took refuge in Saddam’s Iraq. (Killed by U.S. forces in Iraq on June 7, 2006.)

– The one terrorist behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing who got away, Abdul Rahman Yasin, fled to Iraq, where he was given money and lived without fear of being extradited to the United States. (Whereabouts unknown. Possibly being groomed for a prime-time show on MSNBC.)

– Czech intelligence reported that Mohammed Atta, 9/11 mastermind, met with Iraqi agents in Prague shortly before the attack.

We’re not supposed to mention the Prague meeting on penalty of liberals yelling at us. Apparently, our CIA discounts that report. On the other hand, the CIA didn’t see the 1993 World Trade Center bombing coming, didn’t see 9/11 coming, didn’t see the Fort Hood massacre coming and didn’t see the Times Square bombing coming. No one tell liberals, but our CIA knows NOTHING — although they’re pretty sure something bad happened at Pearl Harbor a while back.

(2) Saddam had attempted to assassinate a former president of the United States. Liberals complained that it was a family feud because that president happened to be Bush’s father, but, again, he was also a FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. (Does being a relative of the president make you fair game for assassination attempts? Bill Clinton, please pick up the white courtesy phone.)

(3) Saddam not only had WMDs, he had used them — far more prodigiously than Syria’s Bashar al-Assad did when Obama masterfully backed down from his “red line” threat if Assad ever used chemical weapons. (Assad’s WMDs killed about a thousand civilians — 350 according to French intelligence, which is a lot better than ours. Saddam’s WMDs killed an estimated 100,000 civilians. That’s according to everyone — the United Nations, Human Rights Watch and Clinton-era ambassador Peter Galbraith.)

(4) We needed to smash some Muslim strongman after the 9/11 attack, and Saddam was as good as any other — at least as good as the Taliban primitives who had allowed Osama bin Laden to pitch his tent in their godforsaken country.

It worked: Moammar Gadhafi, terrified that Bush would attack Libya next, invited U.N. inspectors in, gave up his WMDs, and paid the families of his Lockerbie bombing victims $8 million apiece.

(5) Saddam had committed atrocities on a far greater scale than our current bogeyman, ISIS. He tortured and murdered tens of thousands of Iraqis — removing their teeth with pliers, applying electric shocks to men’s genitals, drilling holes in their ankles and forcing them to watch as their wives were raped — as reported by USA Today, among others. There was no risk that we were accidentally taking out the Arab George Washington.

(6) Saddam was a dangerous and disruptive force in a crucial oil-producing region of the world. We need oil. Why not go to war for oil?

(7) The Iraqi people were a relatively sane, civilized and educated populace with a monstrous ruler. Removing that leader would provide a golden opportunity for an actual functioning Arab democracy — an Arab Israel.

That worked, too. In under two years, Iraqis were waving their purple fingers to symbolize having voted in their first democratic election. A few years after that, young Iranians were demanding their own democracy in another good people/bad rulers country.

But then an innocent 26-year-old girl, Neda, was gunned down in Tehran by the Iranian military. President Obama responded forcefully by going out for an ice cream cone. And thus ended the democratic movement in the Muslim world.

The least important reason to invade Iraq — the one that was tacked on for the sole purpose of taunting liberals over their goofy reverence for the United Nations — was that Saddam had refused to allow U.N. weapons inspectors in, leaving the strong impression that Iraq was chock-a-bloc with WMDs. It was the equivalent of asking where the feminists were when we invaded Afghanistan — although technically, we didn’t invade because the Taliban were mean to women.

In fact, the only time The New York Times got testy with Saddam was after the “powerful case” made by Secretary of State Colin Powell, “that Saddam Hussein stands in defiance of Security Council resolutions.” (Who cares?)

Liberals didn’t mind Saddam’s sheltering terrorists, using poison gas, invading his neighbors or attempting to assassinate a former U.S. president. But Saddam had disrespected the U.N.!

Far from claiming that estimates of Saddam’s WMDs were overblown, liberals cited those very WMDs to warn America that any invasion would result in catastrophe for the Great Satan. Thus, for example:

– The New York Times cautioned in an editorial that an invasion might create chaotic conditions, allowing “terrorists to grab biological or chemical weapons.” (New York Times, Feb. 2, 2003)

– Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg predicted that Saddam would “use poison gas against U.S. troops.” (Jane Sutton, “Pentagon Papers’ Ellsberg Sees Deja Vu in Iraq,” Reuters, Nov. 25, 2002)

– In the Chicago Tribune, Steve Chapman warned: “Once American troops set foot on Iraqi soil, they may be bombarded with poison gas.” (Steve Chapman, “What Could Go Wrong in the War With Iraq,” Chicago Tribune, Nov. 17, 2002)

– The Times’ Nicholas Kristof wrote that if we invaded Iraq, “Saddam may well launch missiles with chemical warheads at Tel Aviv.” (Nicholas Kristof, “Flirting With Disaster,” Feb. 14, 2003)

This is why all six of Jeb Bush’s answers to Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly — as well as Marco Rubio’s premeditated answer a week later — were ridiculous. It’s annoying enough having liberals invent these historical fantasies. Do our fearsome Republicans have to keep retelling them, too? If they don’t follow the news, can’t they read?

Kelly asked Bush: “Knowing what we know now, would you have authorized the invasion?”

The correct answer is:

Now that we know that a half-century of Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 Immigration Act would result in a country where a man like Barack Obama could be elected president, and then, purely out of antipathy to America, would withdraw every last troop from Iraq, nullifying America’s victory and plunging the entire region into chaos, no, I would not bother removing dangerous despots in order to make America safer.

Instead, I would dedicate myself to overturning our immigration laws, ending the anchor-baby scam and building a triple-layer fence on the border, so that some future Republican president could invade Iraq without worrying about a foreign-elected president like Obama coming in and giving it away.

As ISIS Marches, Obama To Cite Global Warming As National Security Threat During Coast Guard Commencement

waving flagReported by Katie Pavlich Katie Pavlich | May 20, 2015

king-obama3In case you missed it over the weekend, the Islamic State took over another Iraqi city. This time it was Ramadi, a city in which Americans died to capture in the first place years ago and comes after the fall of Mosul. The next major city on the conquer list for ISIS is Baghdad, not to mention the fact Christians have been essentially eliminated from the country. Despite these developments, the White House is calling its strategy against “jayvee” ISIS an overall “success” and touting minimal airstrikes in the region.

Meanwhile, President Obama is focused on the national security threat of…global warming. What’s worse? He’ll be warning about global warming during a speech for the Coast Guard Academy’s commencement ceremony today.cause of death

President Barack Obama is framing the challenges of climate change as a matter of national security that threatens to aggravate poverty and political instability around the globe and jeopardize the readiness of U.S. forces.

“Make no mistake, it will impact how our military defends our country,” the president says in excerpts of a commencement address prepared for delivery Wednesday at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. “And so we need to act and we need to act now.”

His speech to the cadets, by contrast, is focused on what the Obama administration says are immediate risks to national security, including contributing to more natural disasters that result in humanitarian crises and potential new flows of refugees. Further, the president sees climate change aggravating poverty and social tensions that can fuel instability and foster terrorist activity and other violence.

Thug Tells Whites: Bow Down to Blacks, You’re All Gonna Die

War Drums

A shocking confrontation filmed on the streets of New York highlights the racial animosity that continues to plague America in the aftermath of last year’s Ferguson riots and the rise of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. The incident began when a member of the Five-Percent Nation, a militant offshoot of the Nation of Islam, began harassing a group of white hipsters in Union Square.

An older black man begins an argument with the group before threatening to “turn this motherf–ker upside (down).”

“Where’s your man at? I’ll get him first. Straight up, I don’t give a f–k,” yells the man, adding, “I’m a thug, I’m from Brooklyn,” before referring to himself as the “King.”

One of the hipsters then jumps towards “King” and other members of the Five-Percent Nation, one of whom is wearing a “f–k the police” sweater, quickly move in to disperse the confrontation.

“You’re a dead man – I promise you,” yells “King” towards the man who confronted him.

However, the tone of the confrontation then begins to turn even more sinister as another member of the Five-Percent Nation states, “That’s why I stopped him, because this motherf–ker should be bowing to him.”

“Bowing?….Did this guy just say racist s–t here….he should be bowing to him because he’s black?” asks the man filming the incident.

“And just so ya’ll know, all of ya’ll time is coming, you’re all gonna die,” says the Five-Percent Nation thug.

“What do you mean ya’ll,” asks the cameraman.

“All of you people, and all of your derivatives, all of the people who love you,” responds the thug.

“You talking about white people?,” asks the cameraman.

“Yeah,” responds the thug.

The argument continues before the thug asserts, “by the end of this year you’ll be dead.”

“Is that a death threat, black man?” asks the cameraman.

It’s already happening,” responds the thug.

One of the group that was threatened, himself black, then points out the threat also applied to him because his mother is white. The cameraman’s charge that the thug is a “racist piece of s–t” for calling for the mass genocide of white people would be disputed by social justice warriors and prominent black figures, who argue that it is impossible for black people or ethnic minorities to be racist.

Violent and racist rhetoric from elements of the #BlackLivesMatter movement in the aftermath of Ferguson, Missouri has become a common theme, but it is routinely downplayed or ignored by the mass media. Instead on focusing on police brutality, the movement has been steered to obsess on white guilt, a form of cultural marxism that absolves the state of blame and merely serves to create polarization and division between the people.

Teen With Down Syndrome Becomes a Supermodel, Challenges Us to See Disability Differently

Reported by Sarah Zagorski   May 19, 2015   Sydney, Australia

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.lifenews.com/2015/05/19/teen-with-down-syndrome-becomes-a-supermodel-challenges-us-to-see-disability-differently/

18-year-old Madeline Stuart has Down syndrome but refuses to let that stop her from her dream of becoming a model. On her its timeFacebook page she said she is pursuing modeling to “help change societies view of people with Down Syndrome.”

According to Buzzfeed, the woman’s mother, Roseanne Stuart, said her daughter has struggled with her weight throughout her life but recently picked up dance, swimming and cheerleading. Roseanne said, “I think it is time people realized that people with Down syndrome can be sexy and beautiful and should be celebrated.”

Roseanne said that culture is much more accepting of people with disabilities now than when her daughter was first born. She said, “Things were a lot different 18 years ago. I remember having her in a [stroller] when she was a baby and small-minded people telling me she should not be out in public. Even her doctors said Madeline would never achieve anything. But things are changing every day and people are more accepting of what they don’t understand yet.”

Additionally, Roseanne explained that her daughter has become very confident despite her disability and she constantly reminds her that she’s perfect just the way she is. She said, “I have made a point of never letting anyone be critical of her. [I tell Maddy] every day how amazing, funny, smart, beautiful, [and] wonderful she is. It’s that confidence — and beauty, both inside and out — that Rosanne wants others to see. People need to see how she shines, how her personality just bursts out.”

She concluded, “People with Down syndrome can do anything. They just do it at their own pace. Give them a chance and you will be rewarded beyond your greatest expectations.”

madelinestuart2

As LifeNews previously reported, earlier this year Jamie Brewer became the first woman with Down syndrome to walk the runway during New York’s Fashion Week. Brewer said, “Young girls and even young women … [see me] and say ‘hey, if she can do it so can I.’ It’s a true inspiration being a role model for any young women to [encourage them] in being who they are and showing who they are.” She added, “Take the risk. Take the chance. Put your heart and soul into it, because when you put your soul into it, you will become what you’ve always dreamed. You, yourself, will become a legend.”

TODAY.com reports that Jamie is most recognized for her acting roles as Addie in “American Horror Story: Murder House,” Nan in “American Horror Story: Coven,” and Marjorie in “American Horror Story: Freak Show. However, she has also worked as an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities; and at 19, she was elected to the State of Texas ARC Board and worked on the Executive Board and Governmental Affairs Committee.

Although it is true that culture has changed a lot in regards to accepting children with disabilities, many women still believe abortion is the best solution when faced with a fetal abnormality. In fact, 90% of women who receive the prenatal diagnosis that their child will have Down syndrome end their life through abortion. This statistic should remind pro-lifers that our work in protecting the disabled is not finished. It is critical that we pass legislation to protect unborn babies with Down syndrome, as well as children with other disorders.OARLogo Picture6

NAACP Loses Battle to Silence Black Pro-Lifer Who Bashed Its Pro-Abortion Stance

waving flagReported by Steven Ertelt, May 19, 2015, Washington, DC

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.lifenews.com/2015/05/19/naacp-loses-battle-to-silence-black-pro-lifer-who-bashed-its-pro-abortion-stance/

The NAACP has lost its legal battle to silence a black pro-life writer who parodied its pro-abortion stance by referring to the NAACP as the “National Association for the Abortion of Colored People.”Which kills more blacksAfter LifeNews.com blogger Ryan Bomberger published his article at LifeNews, the NAACP threatened to sue LifeNews.com and Bomberger over the column that took the civil rights organization to task over its abortion position. The NAACP is upset about a column Bomberger wrote at LifeNews titled, “NAACP: National Association for the Abortion of Colored People” and a legal battle between it and Bomberger ensued.

Last year, a judge issued a ruling in the NAACP lawsuit against Bomberger. The judge indicated that Bomberger had no First Amendment right to lampoon the NAACP by calling it the “National Association for the Abortion of Colored People” in an effort to mock its pro-abortion position and opposition to pro-life legislation.

Today, the federal 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned that decision and ruled in favor of full free speech rights for its timeBomberger, his group the Radiance Foundation, and LifeNews.com. Judge Harvey Wilkinson wrote the opinion on behalf of the three-judge panel that unanimously ruled against the NAACP.

The ruling upheld Bomberger’s and LifeNews’ “expressive right to comment on social issues under the First Amendment.”

“We vacate the injunction against Radiance entered by the district court and remand with instructions that defendant’s counterclaims likewise be dismissed,” the court ruled, adding that it rejected the NAACP’s attempt to “obstruct the conveyance of ideas, criticism, comparison, and social commentary. Political discourse is the grist of the mill in the marketplace of ideas.”

As far as calling the NAACP the “National Association for the Abortion of Colored People” – the appeals court even went as far as saying Bomber’s piece at LifeNews wasn an inventive and effective parody. “Biting, surely; distortive, certainly; Radiance’s ploy was nonetheless effective at conveying sharply what it was that Radiance wished to say,” it said. “The use of the satirical modification of the true NAACP name was designed, as many titles are, to be eye-catching and provocative in a manner that induces the reader to continue on.”

Before the decision, Bomberger said he was surprised the venerable civil rights group would sue him, a black pro-life person. “This lawsuit should be shocking to any American who values truth and the First Amendment,” explains Bomberger. “The irony is painful. The NAACP is suing me—a black man—for exercising my Constitutionally-guaranteed right to free speech.”

Rush Limbaugh has parodied the NAACP’s name since Clarence Thomas’s Supreme Court confirmation,” Bomberger points out. “But the NAACP hasn’t sued a wealthy broadcaster, with an audience of millions, for parodying them every time he refers to them. I’m honored they feel threatened by a small, life-affirming organization’s illuminating words.”

The ACLU has officially sided with The Radiance Foundation stating: “…the right to parody prominent organizations like the NAACP is an essential element of the freedom of speech.” The Electronic Frontier Foundation, which joined the ACLU in the Amicus Brief, expressed deep concerns “because a decision holding [The Radiance Foundation] liable for trademark infringement threatens a huge range of expression…Judge Jackson’s decision misreads both trademark law and the First Amendment.”

Bomberger says the real problem is not his free speech but the NAACP’s abortion advocacy. “Abortion doesn’t advance people of color,” he said. “The NAACP is on the wrong side of this human rights issue, and they are wrong to try to silence our free speech, too.”Gruber-Abortion

Following the piece, the NAACP sent Bomberger, the director of the Radiance Foundation, and LifeNews a threatening letter claiming infringement on its name and logo for including it in the opinion column. The letter accuses Bomberger and his group, the Radiance Foundation, of “trademark infringement” over an ad campaign that exposes the NAACP’s pro-abortion position. Stating that while “you are certainly entitled to express your viewpoint, you cannot do so in connection with a name that infringes on the NAACP’s rights,” the letter demands a response within a self-imposed time period.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

In response to the letter, Bomberger asked a federal court to declare that the First Amendment protects his and the Radiance Foundation’s exercise of free speech and that his speech does not infringe on any of the NAACP’s trademarks or other rights. The lawsuit does not seek any damages.

In its countersuit, the NAACP’s counterclaim denies that the NAACP is pro--abortion or has even taken a position on the issue.

Despite the fact the LifeNews article in question simply parodied the NAACP’s name, criticized the organization’s documented pro-abortion actions, and used the NAACP’s unaltered logo to identify the civil rights group the judge refused to dismiss the case as a First Amendment issue. Although the NAACP took offense at the article, Bomberger has frequently spoken out about the NAACP’s pro-abortion stance and its ignoring how abortion disproportionately targets black unborn children. The NAACP recently came under fire for opposing a bill to ban abortions based on race.

“The damage done is the loss of over 15 million black lives to abortion,” Bomberger, an adoptee and adoptive father., told LifeNews previously before the ruling. “How can the NAACP possibly claim neutrality over the abortion issue if they’re financially profiting from annual sponsorship from the nation’s largest abortion chain?”mommy can you feel me

Despite the NAACP suit, Bomberger says the Radiance Foundation’s www.TooManyAborted.com abortion awareness campaign will continue to expose failed leadership in the black community on the issue of abortion. Abortion alone has taken the lives of over 16 million black children. For every 100 live births in the African American community, another 77 are aborted. African-American teenage abortion rates are more than twice as high as the national average, according to a new study. The African-American abortion rate, according to the study conducted by the Guttmacher Institute, is 41 per 1,000 women among the 15-19 year old age group. The national average abortion rate is 18 per 1,000 women among 15-19-year-olds.National death rate percentages

Alliance Defending Freedom allied attorney Charles M. Allen with the Glen Allen, Va. firm Goodman, Allen & Filetti PLLC is defending Bomberger and Radiance in U.S. District Court in The Radiance Foundation v. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for the Eastern District of Virginia, Norfolk Division.

U.S.-led airstrikes may have slowed ISIS’s advance in the Middle East, but the brutal terrorist movement continues to attract followers around the world. ISIS has made no secret of its desire to attack America and it’s putting foot soldiers in place to make that dark vision a reality.against America

After two ISIS supporters attempted to storm a Mohammed cartoon drawing contest and murder everyone inside earlier this month in Garland, Texas, the Islamic State was quick to claim responsibility for what’s been called the first ISIS attack on American soil. The attackers, both American citizens, were killed by a police officer before they had a chance to carry out their plan. But the incident in Texas may have been a sign of things to come.

ISIS in Every State

From Pennyslvania to Illinois to Ohio to Minnesota to Kansas, federal authorities have arrested close to a dozen ISIS supporters in recent weeks. “We’re very definitely in a new environment because of ISIL’s effective use of social media, the Internet, which has the ability to reach into the homeland and possibly inspire others…” Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said. “Because of the use of the Internet, we could have little or no notice in advance of an independent actor attempting to strike,” he explained.

In the wake of the Texas attack, FBI Director James Comey said that there are potentially “thousands” of American citizens that now follow ISIS online. Comey has also said that the FBI is now conducting investigations into ISIS-related activity in all 50 U.S. states. In addition, U.S. authorities say some 180 U.S. citizens have traveled overseas to join ISIS—and at least 40 of them have already returned.

“What they say is that their first obligation is to go to the caliphate,” explained Ryan Mauro, national security analyst for The Clarion Project. “But what they say is that, if they’re unable to do that, if they feel they’ll be arrested at the airport, that’s when they carry out an attack here in the United States.”muslim-obama Islamapologist Obama Muslim collection

Orders to Attack

Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud was one who made it to Syria. The Columbus, Ohio, resident trained with an Islamic terror group and then returned to the United States with orders to attack the homeland. He was arrested before he had the chance. Mohamud had been on U.S. authorities’ radar before he left for Syria.

That’s why terrorism expert Patrick Poole said Mohamud should have never made it that far.

“They allow him to apply for a passport; they allow him to travel to Turkey,” Poole told CBN News. “From there he goes into Syria, trains, comes back, and he’s wandering the streets of Columbus for eight months.”

Like a growing number of American ISIS recruits, Mohamud was of Somali descent. Most hail from the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and Saint Paul—an area with the largest Somali-Muslim population in North America. “We’ve got to revisit these humanitarian visas,” former Pentagon spokesman J.D. Gordon, executive director of Protect America Today, said. “We’ve got so many people here from places like Somalia with major Islamic terror problems and we keep letting them into the country. Why are we doing that?”

America’s Dangerous Future

Mauro told CBN News that’s one way the United States is heading down a dangerous path.

“You have Sharia patrols in places like the U.K.,” Mauro said. “And that’s not what we’re facing here in the United States, so it’s hard for us to believe that that’s where we’re headed. But if you want to look at the future of the United States, you have to look at Europe.”

The goal of ISIS and its growing network of followers in the West is to turn American and European cities into guerilla war zones—with regular attacks similar to those seen recently in Ottawa, Paris, Sydney and Texas. Gordon told CBN News that to defeat this threat, the Obama administration must first acknowledge that it exists. “The White House can’t even name radical Islam as the enemy,” Gordon said. “Radical Islam is trying to wipe us out, and the White House—Barack Obama—won’t even mention it.”muslim-obama

Ignoring the threat won’t make it go away. ISIS recently boasted that it has “71 trained soldiers in 15 different U.S. states”—and promised that the attack in Texas was only the beginning.

Touching moment five-year-old boy begged his mother to buy a homeless man dinner… and then brought the entire restaurant to tears when he said grace with him

Ava Faulk said her son Josiah Duncan, 5, wouldn’t stop asking her questions when he spotted a disheveled man holding a bag with his bike outside the restaurant in Prattville. When Faulk explained the man was homeless, little Josiah asked ‘What does that mean?’  Faulk told Josiah that it meant he didn’t have a home, to which her son responded, ‘Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?’

But Josiah was most concerned that the stranger didn’t have any food, and he begged his mother to buy the man a meal at the restaurant, she told WSFA 12 News.  The mother agreed, but when the man sat down at the restaurant and ‘nobody really waited on him’, Josiah decided to take matters into his own hands.

He ‘jumped up’ and asked the man if he needed a menu, telling him ‘you can’t order without one’, Faulk said. When the man insisted he would be fine with a simple cheeseburger, Faulk made sure he knew he could have anything he wanted. The mother remembers that, when he asked if he could have bacon, she told him ‘get as much bacon as you want’.

Faulk said everyone, including the man, teared up.

It’s a moment the mother said she will never forget. ‘Watching my son touch the 11 people in that Waffle House tonight will be forever one of the greatest accomplishments as a parent I’ll ever get to witness.’

Before the man could dig in, Josiah said he wanted to 'say the blessing with him', which he sang loud enough for the other 11 customers in the restaurant to hear

Democrats label lazy welfare recipients as ‘working families’

CALIFORNIA VOTER ALERT
A guide to the 2014 California propositions

Welfare is often unpopular with the voters who fund it through their taxes. So California politicians and academics who support it are now redefining welfare recipients as “workers” even if they do almost no work, and as members of “working families” if they live in the same household as someone who does a tiny bit of work. By doing this, they hope to brand critics of welfare as “anti-worker.”

Fifty-six percent of welfare recipients are in “working families,” according to a misleading recent report by the University of California at Berkeley’s left-wing Center for Labor Research and Education. But the report reached that false conclusion by defining even very lazy people as “workers”: “We define working families as those that have at least one family member who works 27 or more weeks per year and 10 or more hours per week.”

But working just ten hours a week for only about half the weeks in the year doesn’t make you a typical worker, or show industriousness. As Breitbart notes, “If someone is only working ten hours a week, there is probably time to find a second job, rather than rely on government assistance.” The Center that put out this ridiculous “study” is funded not just by taxpayers, but also by government employee unions like AFSCME whose members are hired to administer such welfare programs.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

That slanted “study” coincides with a recent push by California’s governor to expand welfare for so-called “workers” who actually do very little work. The Associated Press reported that Gov. Jerry Brown (D) is

proposing a $380 million earned income tax credit” for “as many as 825,000 families and up to 2 million Californians. “It’s just a straight deliverance of funding to people who are working very hard and are earning very little money, so in that sense I think it does a lot of good things,” Brown said of the tax credit. The average tax credit would be $460 a year with a maximum credit of $2,653 for families with three or more children, to complement the federal tax credit program. It would be available to individuals with incomes of less than $6,580, or up to $13,870 for families with three or more dependents.Picture11

For an individual to have an income of less than $6,580 at the California minimum wage of $9 per hour (and thus qualify for this welfare), he would have to work no more than 731 hours per year, or 14 hours per week. That’s not “working very hard,” Governor Brown. The Associated Press story, which reads like a press release for the governor’s proposed budget, never even questions his strange claim about this being hard work. The AP wrongly calls this huge, record-setting budget “a cautious approach to spending” even though it does nothing about California’s massive unfunded pension problems, and is balanced only due to tax increases that are supposedly temporary but that most California Democrats now want to make permanent, such as those in Proposition 30.Picture7

As the Los Angeles Daily Newspoints out:

In 2013, California’s public-employee pension systems—including those for police, firefighters and teachers—were carrying an estimated aggregate of $198 billion in unfunded liability. That’s 31 times the unfunded liability 10 years earlier.Picture8

Governor Brown has largely turned a blind eye to pension-spiking by CALPERS that will explode California pension costs by billions of dollars, half-heartedly objecting to only one of the “ninety-nine categories used” in its “scheme.”

As profligate and irresponsible as his budget is, it could have been even worse: Jerry Brown is a model of responsibility and common sense compared to California’s money-wasting left-wing legislature and its big-spending Democratic leadership (the state legislature is two-thirds Democrat and only one-third Republican). The AP quotes Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de Leon (D-Los Angeles) demanding yet more “investments” (the trendy euphemism for government spending) and promising that “we can and will do more” to increase such spending.  State legislative leaders have sought to expand Medicaid and other government healthcare programs to cover illegal immigrants at a cost of at least $1.3 billion annually, which Brown has not yet fully endorsed, although his budget does earmark the more modest sum of “$62 million to begin enrolling low-income immigrants in Medi-Cal, California’s version of Medicaid, on the assumption that President Barack Obama will prevail in a court battle over his executive order.”burke

The relabeling of welfare recipients as “workers” even when they do little work echoes the approach of the progressive ideological guru George Lakoff, a professor at the University of California at Berkeley, who advocates reframing the political debate in deceptive ways. As The Atlantic noted:

Lakoff offers no new policy ideas. Instead he suggests that the Democrats reposition the ones they already have, and spruce up some unpopular terminology while they’re at it. He advocates referring to ‘trial lawyers’ as ‘public-protection attorneys,’ replacing ‘taxes’ with ‘membership fees,’ and generally couching the entire Democratic message in palatable—even deceptive—language in order to simplify large ideas and disguise them behind innocent but powerful-sounding phrases.more evidence

The Associated Press sometimes follows the deceptive Lakoff ideological approach when it comes to government spending, labeling spending on education and social programs as an “investment” even when the money spent will not be recouped later through higher tax revenue, making the reference to “investment” misleading.

Bill O’Reilly is denying a report that he physically abused his former wife. “All allegations against me in these circumstances are 100 percent false,” the Fox News host said in a statement issued through his attorney to the Hollywood Reporter.

Those allegations surfaced Monday when Gawker reported details leaked from a recently-ended three-year custody battle between O’Reilly and his ex-wife, Maureen McPhilmy. According to Gawker, “a court-appointed forensic examiner testified at a closed hearing that O’Reilly’s daughter claimed to have witnessed her father dragging McPhilmy down a staircase by her neck, apparently unaware that the daughter was watching.”Picture3

The incident allegedly occurred in the couple’s Manhasset, Long Island, home prior to their 2010 separation. They divorced in 2011. Last month, a Nassau County court granted McPhilmy custody of the couple’s two minor children. Documents from the custody dispute are sealed. The website said it learned details from “a source familiar with the facts of the case.”Picture4

“I am going to respect the court-mandated confidentiality put in place to protect my children and will not comment any further,” O’Reilly said.

He did not address the allegation on Monday’s “O’Reilly Factor”. In the past, O’Reilly has frequently used his top-rated cable news show to tackle controversies head-on. In February, he dismissed allegations by former CBS News colleagues who disputed his description of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a “combat situation” during the 1982 Falklands War.

“I was there on the street with my camera crews,” O’Reilly said on “Factor.” “The violence was horrific, as Argentine soldiers fired into the crowd, who were responding with violent acts of their own.”Picture5

Cleveland Braces For Verdict In 2012 Police Shooting

I have never published anything from, or associated with, NPR. This report has importance because of the New WhatDidYouSay Logopresent racial unrest, and racial hatred, stirred up by the Sharpton/Jackson/Obama mob. While this is a copy of a transcript from one of their radio broadcasts, you can hear the Leftist application of propaganda. However, it is an important news report, because if things do erupt, like anticipated, you will have advance warning.

I find this report a little obvious because of the “meeting” they are reporting, and the City Councilman quoted. I’m not sure I am buying that they really want to avoid a riot, or giving advance promotion of one. You decide.

As the verdict nears in the racially charged case, city officials hope to avoid violence. They’ve reached out to civic and religious groups for constructive dialogue to help ward off potential unrest.

STEVE INSKEEP, HOST:

People in Cleveland, Ohio, are waiting for a verdict in a police shooting trial and waiting to see what follows. Incidents in Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore led to violence. Protests after a shooting in Madison, Wis., were peaceful. Cleveland could go either way or its own distinctive way. Here’s the flashpoint. Officer Michael Brelo is on trial for voluntary manslaughter. He is accused in the shooting deaths of two black suspects, both unarmed, who were sitting in a car boxed in by the police. Here’s Brian Bull of member station WCPN.

BRIAN BULL, BYLINE:

I’m standing here outside of the Glenville Recreation Center on the east side of Cleveland. Inside, roughly two dozen people are gathered – law enforcement, local politicians, clergy and activists to discuss how they can best quell any violence that could happen in the wake of the Brelo verdict.

HANK DAVIS:

We’re getting ahead of the violence.

BULL:

Hank Davis is one of 75 citizen volunteer marshals whose job will be to walk the streets after the verdict, mediate any conflicts and point out trouble to police. The goal is to mirror Madison protesters rather than Baltimore’s after the verdict. Part of this effort will be to identify agitators who officials fear might try to spark riots.

DAVIS:

Anyone that’s looking to come and confuse our kids, our youth, and mislead the people and bring chaos and mayhem, I would suggest that you find another city or somewhere else to do it because it won’t be tolerated in Cleveland.

BULL:

Cleveland officials have designated nearly five dozen churches across the city as safe places after the verdict is announced. Pastor Andrew Clark of the Federation of Network Ministries says anyone upset over the outcome can come in for counseling and a shoulder to lean on. Clark says he’s had good talks with the Cleveland police over preparations.

PASTOR ANDREW CLARK:

We have been assured that the police officers will not be in riot gear, that they are not going to stop any demonstration or protest.

BULL:

That contrasts for Ferguson’s police response which was highly criticized for being militarized following the Michael Brown shooting. Cleveland protesters did shut down traffic around Public Square last fall after a rookie officer fatally shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who had only a gun that shot plastic pellets in his hand.

(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)

UNIDENTIFIED MAN: If we don’t get it…

UNIDENTIFIED CROWD: Shut it down.

UNIDENTIFIED MAN: If you don’t get it…

UNIDENTIFIED CROWD: Shut it down.

BULL:

But the protest was more disruption than destruction. The city has also set up a Twitter hashtag #onecle to promote a united city. Cleveland leaders also held a community safety meeting outlining their teamwork with civic groups to promote calm among residents. Cleveland’s police spokesman, Ali Pillow, says they’re trying to stay ahead of the protests.

ALI PILLOW:

I wouldn’t dare compare or critique anything that the Ferguson Police Department did. But in terms of the Cleveland Department, this is the proactive approach that the city and the police department has taken.

BULL:

And city councilman Kevin Conwell says he plans to ride around the city after the verdict.

KEVIN CONWELL:

I plan to ride the neighborhood for three days after the verdict if he’s acquitted. I have to ride. I have to show leadership. And I’ll be out there riding all the time, seeing what’s going on, riding the streets.

BULL:

With so many people from the Cleveland community working to offset any violence, city leaders are hoping that residents respond to appeals from neighbors and activists urging peaceful protest. For NPR News, I’m Brian Bull in Cleveland.

Democrats’ ‘Progressive Agenda’ is Outright Communism

URL Of the Original Posting Site: http://godfatherpolitics.com/22451/democrats-progressive-agenda-is-outright-communism/#dtl4wsSBLblhYjRB.

It must be so close they can taste it.

It’s never been a secret that the Democrat agenda has been quietly driven by the philosophies of Karl Marx and every radical socialist who ever lit a fuse against the United States. With a long line of public figures who have idolized or modeled themselves after Alinsky, Mao, Lenin or Castro, the Democratic Party has been home to the despicably anti-American and their foolishly misguided followers.

Anybody who paid any attention to the party’s politics and had a modicum of historical knowledge could spot the connections. But leftists being leftists, the DP leadership has always tried to pretend otherwise because their hold on many of the low-information voters is all based on perceptions. Which is what makes it remarkable that the Progressive Agenda to Combat Income Inequality, a document put together by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio, so clearly patterns itself after Communist Party and Socialist Party doctrine.

Even more remarkable is that de Blasio and others are trying to make this the official Democratic Party platform for the 2016 presidential election. The Democrats are calling the Progressive Agenda their “Contract With America,” which is as frightening as it is insulting.Liberalism a mental disorder 2 Party of Deciet and lies

Newt Gingrich’s “Contract With America” was a stroke of political brilliance that helped pull together congressional conservatives to pass important legislation and help America get back on track.

The Progressive Agenda is aimed at turning us into something just shy of the Soviet Union.

All the hallmarks are there:

  • hike the minimum wage (c’mon, if it’s such a great idea, why not make it $100 per hour, guys?);
  • national paid family and sick leave;
  • pass laws to make it easier to force workers to unionize;
  • “immigration reform” to organize illegals;
  • refinance student debt;
  • expanding state brainwashing with mandatory pre-kindergarten, after-school and child-care programs;
  • increasing taxes on “the rich”; etc.Cloward Piven

De Blasio, who calls President Obama “too conservative” to lead a Progressive economic policy, said last week at the agenda’s rollout, “It’s time to take that energy and crystallize it into an agenda that will make a difference. We’ll be calling on leaders and candidates to address these issues, to stiffen their backbones, to be clear and to champion these progressive policies.”more evidence

Democrat officials had a variety of silly metaphors about cavalry and “meat on the bones” to use in praise of de Blasio’s manifesto. The most interesting remark, however, came from Rep. Charles Rangel, who talked about “revolution.”

Buzzword alert.

The Revolution, of course, was the crucible in which the United States was formed. But there’s a world of difference between the way the Founding Fathers meant it and the way modern Regressives mean it.

  • The Founders meant to take back something that never belonged to the King in the first place: our independence.
  • Regressives mean to assert everyone’s dependence on government and take things from the public treasury that never have belonged to them. **Please see related historical record regarding this point**

To facilitate the fattening of their own purses, Progressive leaders will begin by taking away your rights. If you don’t believe that, then you are dangerously naive. Look at history. That’s always how “progressive revolutions” begin.

It’s already started here. Obama was the warmup act. Now we’ve got closet socialist Hillary, open socialist Bernie and B-string socialist Fauxcahontas (aka Elizabeth Warren), all eyeing the Oval Office. And leftists hope their Communist Manifesto, er, Progressive Agenda will pave the way.

Lurking in the background, supporting de Blasio’s agenda, is Dan Cantor, executive director of the Working Families Party and founder of the New Party. The openly socialist New Party, Chicago branch, once claimed a young Barack Obama as a member, something his flying monkeys have denied for years. De Blasio was executive director of the New Party’s New York branch.

The basis of his plan was a report by Nobel prize-winning Columbia University economist Joseph Stiglitz, who also held “teach-ins” at Occupy Wall Street. Stiglitz has accepted funding from billionaire George Soros, the ex-Nazi employee who helped fund Obama’s career and who has hosted fundraisers for Elizabeth Warren and donated to Hillary Clinton’s PAC. Stiglitz also sits on the boards of several Soros organizations, including one whose aim is to remake the global economy.

You start to see how the pieces fit together? Who says there aren’t any real-life conspiracies to destroy America? Oh, right, mostly the people involved in them.

Davy Crockett on The Role Of Government

from: The Life of Colonel David Crockett

compiled by: Edward S. Elis (1884)

“Money with [Congressmen] is nothing but trash when it is to come out of the people. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity, and justice to obtain it.”

Introductory note by Peter Kershaw:

Davy Crockett served four terms in the U.S. Congress from 1827-1835. In 1835 he joined the Whig Party and ran a failed attempt for the Presidency. Immediately thereafter he departed his native Tennessee for Texas to secure the independence of the “Texicans.” He lost his life at the battle of the Alamo and forever secured his legendary status in history as “king of the wild frontier.” The following story was recounted to Edward Elis by an unnamed Congressman who had served with Colonel Crockett in the U.S. House of Representatives.

…Crockett was then the lion of Washington. I was a great admirer of his character, and, having several friends who were intimate with him, I found no difficulty in making his acquaintance. I was fascinated with him, and he seemed to take a fancy to me. I was one day in the lobby of the House of Representatives when a bill was taken up appropriating money for the benefit of a widow of a distinguished naval officer. It seemed to be that everybody favored it. The Speaker was just about to put the question when Crockett arose. Everybody expected, of course, that he was going to make a speech in support of the bill. He commenced:

“Mr. Speaker — I have as much respect for the memory of the deceased, and as much sympathy for the sufferings of the living, if suffering there be, as any man in this House; but we must not permit our respect for the dead or our sympathy for a part of the living to lead us into an act of injustice to the balance of the living. I will not go into argument to prove that Congress has no power under the Constitution to appropriate this money as an act of charity. Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money.’

“Mr. Speaker, I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.” He took his seat. Nobody replied.

The bill was put upon its passage, and instead of passing unanimously, as was generally supposed, and as no doubt it would, but for that speech, it received but a few votes and was lost. Like many others, I desired the passage of the bill, and felt outraged at its defeat. I determined that I would persuade my friend Crockett to move for a reconsideration the next day. Previous engagements preventing me from seeing Crockett that night, I went early to his room the next morning and found him franking letters, a large pile of which lay upon his table. I broke in upon him rather abruptly, by asking him what the devil had possessed him to make that speech and defeat that bill yesterday. Without turning his head or looking up from his work, he replied: “I will answer your question. But thereby hangs a tale, and one of considerable length, to which you will have to listen.” I listened, and this is the tale which I heard:
“Several years ago I was one evening standing on the steps of the Capitol with some other members of Congress, when our attention was attracted by a great light over in Georgetown. It was evidently a large fire. We jumped into the hack and drove over as fast as we could. When we got there, I went to work, and I never worked as hard in my life as I did there for several hours. But, in spite of all that could be done, many houses were burned and many families made houseless, and, besides, some of them had lost all but the clothes they had on. The weather was very cold, and when I saw so many women and children suffering, I felt that something ought to be done for them, and everybody else seemed to feel the same way.’

“The next morning a bill was introduced appropriating $20,000 for their relief. We put aside all other business and rushed it through as soon as it could be done. I said everybody felt as I did. That was not quite so; for, though they perhaps sympathized as deeply with the sufferers as I did, there were a few of the members who did not think we had the right to indulge our sympathy or excite our charity at the expense of anybody but ourselves. They opposed the bill, and upon its passage demanded the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were recorded, and my name appeared on the journals in favor of the bill.’ “The next summer, when it began to be time to think about election, I concluded I would take a scout around among the boys of my district. I had no opposition there, but, as the election was some time off, I did not know what might turn up, and I thought it was best to let the boys know that I had not forgot them, and that going to Congress had not made me too proud to go to see them. “So I put a couple of shirts and a few twists of tobacco into my saddlebags, and put out. I had been out about a week and had found things going very smoothly, when, riding one day in a part of my district in which I was more of a stranger than any other, I saw a man in a field plowing and coming toward the road. I gauged my gait so that we should meet as he came to the fence.’

“As he came up I spoke to the man. He replied politely, but, as I thought, rather coldly, and was about turning his horse for another furrow when I said to him: ‘Don’t be in such a hurry my friend; I want to have a little talk with you, and get better acquainted.’ He replied: “‘I am very busy, and have but little time to talk, but if it does not take too long, I will listen to what you have to say.’

“I began: ‘Well, friend, I am one of those fortunate beings called candidates, and . . . .’

“‘ Yes, I know you; you are Colonel Crockett. I have seen you once before, and voted for you the last time you were elected. I suppose you are out electioneering now, but you had better not waste your time or mine. I shall not vote for you again.’

“This was a sockdolager (decisive argument: a decisive blow or argument)…. I begged him to tell me what was the matter.’

“‘Well, Colonel, it is hardly worthwhile to waste time or words upon it. I do not see how it can be mended, but you gave a vote last winter which shows that either you have not capacity to understand the Constitution, or that you are wanting the honesty and firmness to be guided by it. In either case you are not the man to represent me. But I beg your pardon for expressing it that way. I did not intend to avail myself of the privilege of the constituent to speak plainly to a candidate for the purpose of insulting or wounding you. I intend by it only to say that your understanding of the Constitution is very different from mine; and I will say to you what, but for my rudeness, I should not have said, that I believe you to be honest. … But an understanding of the Constitution different from mine I cannot overlook, because the Constitution, to be worth anything, must be held sacred, and rigidly observed in all its provisions. The man who wields power and misinterprets it is the more dangerous the more honest he is.’

“‘I admit the truth of all you say, but there must be some mistake about it, for I do not remember that I gave any vote last winter upon any constitutional question.’

“‘No, Colonel, there’s no mistake. Though I live here in the backwoods and seldom go from home, I take the papers from Washington and read very carefully all the proceedings of Congress. My papers say that last winter you voted for a bill to appropriate $20,000 to some sufferers by a fire in Georgetown. Is that true?’

“‘Certainly it is, and I thought that was the last vote which anybody in the world would have found fault with.’

“‘Well, Colonel, where do you find in the Constitution any authority to give away the public money in charity?’ “Here was another sockdolager; for, when I began to think about it, I could not remember a thing in the Constitution that authorized it. I found I must take another tack, so I said: “‘Well, my friend; I may as well own up. You have got me there. But certainly nobody will complain that a great and rich country like ours should give the insignificant sum of $20,000 to relieve women and children, particularly with a full and overflowing Treasury; and, I am sure, if you had been there, you would have done just as I did.’

“‘It is not the amount, Colonel, that I complain of; it is the principle. In the first place, the government ought to have in the Treasury no more than enough for its legitimate purposes. But that has nothing to do with the question. The power of collecting and disbursing money at pleasure is the most dangerous power that can be intrusted to man, particularly under our system of collecting revenue by a tariff, which reaches every man in the country, no matter how poor he may be, and the poorer he is the more he pays in proportion to his means. What is worse, it presses upon him without his knowledge where the weight centers, for there is not a man in the United States who can ever guess how much he pays to the government. So you see, that while you are contributing to relieve one, you are drawing it from thousands who are even worse off than he.

“‘If you had the right to give anything, the amount was simply a matter of discretion with you, and you had as much right to give $20,000,000 as $20,000. If you have the right to give to one, you have the right to give to all; and as the Constitution neither defines charity nor stipulates the amount, you are at liberty to give to any and everything which you believe, or profess to believe, is a charity, and to any amount you may think proper. You will very easily perceive what a wide door this would open for fraud and corruption and favoritism, on the one hand, and for robbing the people on the other.’

“‘No, Colonel, Congress has no right to give charity. Individual members may give as much of their own money as they please, but they have no right to touch a dollar of the public money for that purpose. There are about two hundred and forty members of Congress. If they had shown their sympathy for the sufferers by contributing each one week’s pay, it would have made over $13,000. There are plenty of wealthy men in Washington, who could have given $20,000 without depriving themselves of even a luxury of life. The congressmen chose to keep their own money, which, if reports be true, some of them spend not very creditably; and the people about Washington, no doubt, applauded you for relieving them from the necessity of giving what was not yours to give. The people have delegated to Congress, by the Constitution, the power to do certain things. To do these, it is authorized to collect and pay moneys, and for nothing else. Everything beyond this is usurpation, and a violation of the Constitution.’ “I have given you,” continued Crockett, “an imperfect account of what he said. Long before he was through, I was convinced that I had done wrong. He wound up by saying:’

“‘So you see, Colonel, you have violated the Constitution in what I consider a vital point. It is precedent fraught with danger to the country, for when Congress once begins to stretch its power beyond the limits of the Constitution, there is no limit to it, and no security for the people. I have no doubt you acted honestly, but that does not make it any better, except as far as you are personally concerned, and you see that I cannot vote for you.’

“I tell you I felt streaked. I saw if I should have opposition, and this man should go to talking, he would set others to talking, and in this district I was a gone fawn-skin. I could not answer him, and the fact is, I was so fully convinced that he was right, I did not want to. But I must satisfy him, and I said to him:’

“‘Well, my friend, you hit the nail upon the head when you said I had not sense enough to understand the Constitution. I intended to be guided by it, and thought I had studied it fully. I have heard many speeches in Congress, but what you have said here at your plow has got more hard, sound sense in it than all the fine speeches I have ever heard. If I had ever taken the view of it that you have, I would have put my head into the fire before I would have given that vote; and if you will forgive me and vote for me again, if I ever vote for another unconstitutional law I wish I may be shot.’ “The farmer laughingly replied: ‘Yes, Colonel, you have sworn to that once before, but I will trust you again upon one condition. You say that you are convinced that your vote was wrong. Your acknowledgment of it will do more good than defeating you for it. If, as you go around the district, you will tell people about this vote, and that you are satisfied it was wrong, I will not only vote for you, but will do what I can to keep down opposition, and, perhaps, I may exert some little influence in that way.’

“‘If I don’t,’ said I, ‘I wish I may be shot; and to convince you that I am in earnest in what I say I will come back this way in a week or ten days, and if you will get a gathering of the people, I will make a speech to them. Get up a barbecue, and I will pay for it.’

“‘No, Colonel, we are not rich people in this section, but we have plenty of provisions to contribute for a barbecue, and some to spare for those who have none. The push of crops will be over in a few days, and we can then afford a day for a barbecue. This is Thursday; I will see to getting it up on Saturday seek. Come to my house on Friday, and we will go together, and I promise you a very respectable crowd to see and hear you.’

“‘Well, I will be here. But one thing more before I say good-bye. I must know your name.’

“‘My name is Bunce.’

“‘Not Horatio Bunce?’

 “‘Yes.’

“‘Well, Mr. Bunce, I never saw you before, though you say you have seen me, but I know you very well. I am glad I have met you, and very proud that I may hope to have you for my friend. You must let me shake your hand before I go.’

“We shook hands and parted that day in gentlemanly friendship and amity.’ “It was one of the luckiest hits of my life that I met that man. He mingled but little with the public, but was widely known for his remarkable intelligence, incorruptible integrity, and, for a heart brimful and running over with kindness and benevolence, which showed themselves not only in words but in acts. He was the oracle of the whole country around him, and his fame extended far beyond the circle of his immediate acquaintance. Though I had never met him before, I had heard much of him, and but for this meeting it is very likely I should have had opposition, and had been beaten. One thing is very certain, no man could now stand up in that district under such a vote.’

“At the appointed time I was at his house, having told our conversation to every crowd I had met, and to every man I stayed all night with. In fact I found that it gave the people an interest and a confidence in me stronger than I had ever seen manifest before.’

“Though I was considerably fatigued when I reached the home of Mr. Bunce, and under ordinary circumstances should have gone early to bed, I kept him up until midnight, talking about the principles and affairs of government, and got more real, true knowledge of them than I had got all my life before.’

“I have told you Mr. Bunce converted me politically. He came nearer converting me religiously than I had ever been before. He did not make a very good Christian of me, as you know; but he has wrought upon my feelings a reverence for its purifying and elevating power such as I had never felt before.’

“I have known and seen much of him since, for I respect him — no, that is not the word — I reverence and love him more than any living man, and I go to see him two or three times every year; and I will you sir, if everyone who professes to be a Christian lived and acted and enjoyed it as he does, the religion of Christ would take the world by storm.’ “But to return to my story. The next morning we went to the barbecue, and, to my surprise, found about a thousand me there. I met a good many whom I had not known before, and they and my friend introduced me around until I had got pretty well acquainted — at least, they all knew me.’

“In due time notice was given that I would speak to them. They gathered up around a stand that had been erected. I opened my speech by saying: “‘Fellow-citizens — I present myself before you today feeling like a new man. My eyes have lately been opened to truths which ignorance or prejudice, or both, had heretofore hidden from my view. I feel that I can today offer you the ability to render you more valuable service than I have ever been able to render before. I am here today more for the purpose of acknowledging my error than to seek your votes. That I should make this acknowledgment is due to myself as well as to you. Whether you will vote for me is a matter for your consideration only.’

“I went on to tell them about the fire and my vote for the appropriation as I have told it to you, and then told them why I was satisfied it was wrong. I closed by saying: “‘And now, fellow-citizens, it remains only for me to tell you that most of the speech you have listened to with so much interest was simply a repetition of the arguments by which your neighbor, Mr. Bunce, convinced me of my error.’

“‘It is the best speech I ever made in my life, but my friend Horatio Bunce is entitled to the credit of it. And now I hope he is satisfied with his convert and that he will get up here and tell you so.’

“He came upon the stand and said: “‘Fellow-citizens — It affords me great pleasure to comply with the request of Colonel Crockett. I have always considered him a thoroughly honest man, and I am satisfied that he will faithfully perform all that he has promised you today.’

“He went down, and there went up from the crowd such a shout for Davy Crockett as his name never called forth before.’

“I am not much given to tears, but I was taken with a choking then and felt some big drops rolling down my cheeks. And I tell you now that the remembrance of those few words spoken by such a man, and the honest, hearty shout they produced, is worth more to me than all the honors I have received and all the reputation I have ever made, or ever shall make, as a member of Congress.’ “Now, sir,’ concluded Crockett, “you know why I made that speech yesterday. I have had several thousand copies of it printed, and was directing them to my constituents when you came in.’

“There is one thing now to which I will call your attention. You remember that I proposed to give a weeks’ pay. There are in that House many very wealthy men — men who think nothing of spending a week’s pay, or a dozen of them, for a dinner or a wine party when they have something to accomplish by it. Some of those same men made beautiful speeches upon the debt of gratitude which the country owed the deceased — a debt which could not be paid by money — and the insignificance and worthlessness of money, particularly so insignificant a sum as $10,000, when weighed against the honor of the nation.’

“Yet not one of those Congressmen responded to my proposition. Money with them is nothing but trash when it is to come out of the people. But it is the one great thing for which most of them are striving, and many of them sacrifice honor, integrity, and justice to obtain it.”

Knowing what we know now . . .

Liz Cheney Twitter photo
There has been a lot of hand-wringing over Jeb Bush’s seeming lack of readiness for a presidential campaign in the wake of his apparent inability to articulate a coherent response to Megyn Kelly’s Iraq War hypothetical question.

After days of hedging and backpedaling, Jeb finally landed on the “right” answer: “no, knowing what we know now, I would not have invaded Iraq.”  It shouldn’t have taken that long or that many tries because, as Charles Krauthammer notes in Friday’s Special Report panel, the question answers itself:

While Megyn Kelly did not ask a difficult or tricky question, it’s a question that pops up pretty consistently for GOP candidates from interviewers on both the left and the right, and it is usually the liberal media who manages to flummox GOP candidates.

Rand Paul provided a great template for turning this type of question back on Democrats when he flipped the script on abortion.

And now, Liz Cheney provides the perfect way to make this question about the Iraq War relevant:

liz

This is exactly the kind of response we need from quick-witted and able Republican candidates.

Hopefully, Jeb will learn from this experience and be prepared to flip the script on the Iraq War question when it is asked again.  And it will be.OARLogo Picture6

US Intelligence agencies were fully aware that weapons were moving from the terrorist stronghold in Libya to Syria before the attack that killed four Americans…

September 16, 2012 DIA Memo copied to the National Security Council, CIA, and others concluded the Benghazi terrorist attack was planned at least ten or more days in advance…

The memo also tied the attack to 9-11… No discussion of a demonstration or anti-Mohammad video.

US officials were aware that weapons were being shipped to Syria by the Port of Benghazi.

The US was in fact running guns from Benghazi to Syria when the annex and consulate were attacked.Party of Deciet and lies

Senator Rand Paul questioned Hillary Clinton about this gun running program back in January 2013 during her testimony on the Benghazi terrorist attack. Hillary Clinton said she did not know about the program while testifying under oath.
Here is the transcript:

Sen. Rand Paul: My question is, is the US involved in any procuring of weapons, transfer of weapons, buying, selling anyhow transferring weapons to Turkey out of Libya?

Hillary Clinton: To Turkey? I’ll have to take that question for the record. That’s, nobody’s ever raised that with me.

Sen. Rand Paul: It’s been in news reports that ships have been leaving from Libya and that they may have weapons. And what I’d like to know is, that annex that was close by, were they involved with procuring, buying, selling, obtaining weapons and were any of these weapons being transferred to other countries? ANy countries, Turkey included?

Hillary Clinton: Well, Senator you’ll have to direct that question to the agency that ran the annex. And, I will see what information was available.

Sen. Rand Paul: You’re saying you don’t know?

Hillary Clinton:I do not know.I don’t have any information on that.Clinton Democrat Party

Rand Paul accused the Obama administration in January 2013 of running guns to Syrian rebels.

Caruba: Obama’s Middle East Debacle

May 18, 2015 By

Cartoon - Obama No Islamic Threat

IslamapologistI had to laugh when I heard that the new King of Saudi Arabia, Salmon, told the White House he wasn’t going to attend Thursday’s photo-op get together of Arab leaders. Some lesser Saudi officials will attend. The message is clear enough, so long as Obama continues to make nice with Iran, the center of the problems in the Middle East, the Saudis and the others are going to be wary of any proposal that comes out of the White House.

As far as the Middle East is concerned, Obama seems to have no idea of the history or the dynamics that affect all the actions there. His Secretary of State, Kerry, is no better. He met with Arab officials last Friday and they told him they want a defense treaty in the event they were attacked by “external forces”, something that the Congress will not approve so long as Obama is in the White House.
One would think that any President at this point would have concluded that the Palestinians have no intention of signing onto a peace treaty with the Israelis.

Writing in The New York Times on May 8, Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, put it bluntly, “It doesn’t matter what these politicians think now or have said in in the past. Peace between Israel and the Palestinians is not happening in the next two years.” That’s how long we all have to wait until Obama leaves office.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman

David P.Goldman, a Senior Fellow of the Middle East Forum, writing in Asia Times Online on May 10, spelled it out.
“It is inconvenient for diplomats to say so, but the Palestinian Authority collapsed quite some time ago,” noting that “President Mahmoud Abbas’ term in office began in 2005 and ended six years ago, and he has not called new elections for the simple reason that Hamas—the Palestinian branch of the Egypt-based Muslim Brotherhood—would win those elections.”  These days the Egyptians label Hamas a terrorist organization and have taken steps to eliminate the Brotherhood. At least they know who the enemy is.
Obama has been antagonistic to Israel from before he was elected and has made little effort to hide it. Consider this, as Goldman notes, “Hamas fired over 4,000 rockets at Israel in 2014, prompting Israeli counterstrikes during the summer.” Its declared intention and the reason for its existence is to eliminate the State of Israel. Why are we surprised to hear that Obama wants to take the statehood issue to the United Nations, a hotbed of anti-Semitism, and has little to say of the Palestinian Authority’s assertion that it wants to drag Israel in front of the International Criminal Court for having defended itself against the attacks by Hamas!

Not only has the Saudi King sent Obama a message, but so did the Israelis when they overwhelmingly reelected Benjamin Netanyahu as their Prime Minister. “The Israelis look around the Middle East and see nothing but conflict, carnage, instability and danger,” said Schanzer. “The Obama doctrine—which includes a deliberate contraction of American power in the Middle East—has undeniably made Israel less safe.”

It has made the U.S. and the world less safe too.

One of the most obscene aspects of the Obama obsession with Iran is that, in return for any deal—which Iran would ignore and cheat—they are ready “to provide as much as $120 billion in sanctions relief to satisfy the narrow technical parameters of a nuclear deal, which would legitimize Iran as a threshold nuclear state. These funds,” said Schanzer, “will flow to Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other Iran terror proxies dedicated to Israel’s demise.”
To put all this in perspective, as Goldman reminds us, “From Israel’s standpoint, the Palestinian Authority was offered 95% of Judea and Samaria in return for a final peace agreement, and both times (at Camp David in 1999 under Ehud Barack and in 2008 under Ehud Olmert) the offer was rejected.”
“The U.N. Security Council,” said Goldman, “will punish Israel for the failure of negotiations that were meaningless to begin with, and establish a Hamas-controlled state within nine miles of the Mediterranean coast. Iran has already promised to arm West Bank Arabs, just as it armed Hezbollah and Hamas.”muslim-obama

Israel which has enjoyed the support of the United States since it declared its independence in 1948 is now put at risk by the first administration to deliberately turn its back on it in preference for a deal with the leading terror-sponsor, Iran, in the Middle East.

You cannot make a greater mess of the mess that already exists in the Middle East, but Obama is doing his best to add to it. What else should we expect from a President who refuses to utter words like “Islamic terrorism”?Obama Muslim collection

Iraqi forces, civilians flee as ISIS gains control of Ramadi, US official says

waving flagPublished May 18, 2015, FoxNews.com

47E8929A-FE53-4C0F-9E1D-A665EFFE6AF6_w640_r1_s Ramadi-Iraq-jpgFear of a possible Islamic State bloodbath sent tens of thousands of Iraqis fleeing Ramadi on Monday after government forces abandoned the city — just 80 miles from Baghdad — in what one U.S. military official conceded was a fight “pretty much over.” Some 25,000 people have fled the embattled streets of Ramadi as thousands of ISIS fighters seized the key Iraqi city, killing some 500, and reportedly going door-to-door looking for Iraqi government troops and police to run out of town.

“There have been executions in the streets of Ramadi,” Muhannad Haimour, a spokesman for the Anbar provincial government, told NBC News Monday. ISIS extremists used vehicles, bulldozers rigged with explosives and suicide bombers to overrun the city after weeks of battles in the street. “The situation in the city is absolutely terrible,” Haimour said. “The city is in very bad shape.”

Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called ISIS’ gains “a serious setback” for both the city’s inhabitants and the Iraqi Security Forces. “Much effort will now be required to reclaim the city,” Dempsey said.

The fight for Ramadi is “pretty much over for now,” a U.S. military official told Fox News, after ISIS overran the beleaguered Iraqi Army to take control of the city Sunday.

Iraqi security forces abandoned their Anbar Operations Center in Ramadi overnight, leaving the city almost completely in ISIS control, according to the U.S. official, who has seen the latest intelligence reports from Ramadi. Although there were a large number of Iraqi security forces occupying Ramadi, most troops fled after ISIS fighters began their assault on the city center Sunday, leaving behind Humvees and armored vehicles supplied by the U.S. military, a separate senior U.S. military official told Fox News.

“The Iraqi security forces were pushed out by a much smaller [ISIS] force,” the official said.

The takeover followed a three-day siege that began with a wave of ISIS car bombs and which dealt a devastating blow to the Baghdad government and the U.S. forces providing logistical support. On Monday, Shia militias converged on the city, some 70 miles west of the capital, in a bid to retake it. Ramadi’s streets were deserted Monday, with few people venturing out of their homes to look for food, according to two residents reached by telephone. The militants, meanwhile, were storming the homes of policemen and pro-government tribesmen, particularly those from the large Al Bu Alwan tribe, of whom they detained about 30, the residents said. The militants went door-to-door with lists of alleged pro-government collaborators. Homes and stores owned by a pro-government Sunni militia known as the Sahwa were looted or torched.

The residents spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they feared reprisals by the militants.

Youssef al-Kilabi, a spokesman for the Shiite militias fighting alongside government forces, told the AP on Monday that the Iranian-backed paramilitary forces have drawn up plans for a Ramadi counter-offensive in cooperation with government forces. We will “eliminate this barbaric enemy,” al-Kilabi vowed. He did not elaborate on the plans or the timing of a counter-offensive.

Iran’s Defense Minister Gen. Hossein Dehghan flew to Baghdad on a surprise visit for urgent talks with Iraqi leaders.

The fall of Ramadi was a stunning defeat for Iraq’s security forces and military, which fled as the ISIS rebels overwhelmed the last hold-out positions of pro-government forces, despite the support of U.S.-led airstrikes targeting the extremists. The retreat by Iraqi forces was reminiscent of the nation’s earliest battles against ISIS, including the fall of Mosul, when poorly trained Iraqi soldiers shrank from the black-clad Islamist army, leaving guns and other gear behind for the terrorists to capture.

In Ramadi Sunday, bodies littered the streets as local officials reported the militants carried out mass killings of Iraqi security forces and civilians. Online video showed Humvees, trucks and other equipment speeding out of Ramadi, with soldiers gripping onto their sides. “Ramadi has fallen,” Haimour, a spokesman for the provincial governor of Anbar, told AP Sunday. “The city was completely taken. … The military is fleeing.” Since Friday, when the battle for the city entered its final stages, “We estimate that 500 people have been killed, both civilians and military,” Haimour said.

The figures could not be independently confirmed, but Islamic State militants have in the past killed hundreds of civilians and soldiers in the aftermath of their major victories.

The Pentagon is aware of reports that Iran-backed Shia militias have been asked by Iraq’s Prime Minister to lead the fight to take back Ramadi.  Iran’s defense minister arrived in Baghdad today for talks with his counterpart, in what the media is calling an “emergency meeting.” When asked if the U.S. military planned to increase its involvement in the campaign to defeat ISIS, the senior U.S. military official said, “The Iraqis have to want it more than we want it.”

A Sunni tribal leader, Naeem al-Gauoud, said many tribal fighters died trying to defend the city and their bodies were strewn in the streets, while others had been thrown in the Euphrates River. Ramadi Mayor Dalaf al-Kubaisi said that more than 250 civilians and security forces were killed over the past two days, including dozens of police and other government supporters shot dead in the streets or their homes, along with their wives, children and other family members.

Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking in South Korea, called Ramadi a “target of opportunity” for extremists, but said he was confident that ISIS’ gains could be reversed in the coming days. Kerry also said that he has long said the fight against the militant group would be a long one, and that it would be tough in the Anbar province of western Iraq where Iraqi security forces are not built up.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

The U.S.-led coalition said Sunday it had conducted seven airstrikes in Ramadi in the last 24 hours. “It is a fluid and contested battlefield,” said Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman. “We are supporting (the Iraqis) with air power.”

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi ordered security forces not to abandon their posts across Anbar province, apparently fearing the extremists could capture the entirety of the vast Sunni province that saw intense fighting after the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of the country to topple dictator Saddam Hussein. Sunday’s retreat recalled the collapse of Iraqi security forces last summer in the face of the Islamic State group’s blitz into Iraq that saw it capture a third of the country, where it has declared a caliphate, or Islamic State. It also calls into question the Obama administration’s hopes of relying solely on airstrikes to support the Iraqi forces in expelling the extremists.more evidence

The final push by the extremists began early Sunday with four nearly simultaneous bombings that targeted police officers defending the Malaab district in southern Ramadi, a pocket of the city still under Iraqi government control, killing at least 10 police and wounding 15, authorities said. Among the dead was Col. Muthana al-Jabri, the chief of the Malaab police station, they said. Later, three suicide bombers drove their explosive-laden cars into the gate of the Anbar Operation Command, the military headquarters for the province, killing at least five soldiers and wounding 12, authorities said.

On a militant website frequented by ISIS members, a message from the group claimed its fighters held the 8th Brigade army base, as well as tanks and missile launchers left behind by fleeing soldiers. The message could not be independently verified by the AP, but it was similar to others released by the group and was spread online by known supporters of the extremists.

Backed by the U.S.-led airstrikes, Iraqi forces and Kurdish fighters have made gains against ISIS, including capturing the northern city of Tikrit. But progress has been slow in Anbar, a Sunni province where anger at the Shiite-led government runs deep and where U.S. forces struggled for years to beat back a potent insurgency. American soldiers fought some of their bloodiest battles since Vietnam on the streets of Ramadi and Fallujah.

You ‘Must be Made’ to Obey

waving flagAuthored by avatar  on 16 May, 2015

While actions speak louder than words, words often predict future actions. Secular progressives’ words and actions rarely align. This is because the pseudo-utopian, wholly dystopian perch from which they view the world is so detached from reality that, from a cultural and public policy standpoint, they must disguise their intended actions in flowery and euphemistic language, or face near universal rejection.

When they don’t like the terms, liberals redefine the terms to mean something they do not, never have and never can mean. Consider, for instance, the once meaningful words “marriage” and “equality.”

Other “progressive” doublespeak includes words like “invest” (meaning socialist redistribution of wealth), “tolerance” (meaning embrace immorality or face total ruin), “diversity” (meaning Christians and conservatives need not apply), “hate” (meaning truth) or “The Affordable Care Act” (meaning unaffordable, unsustainable and utterly inferior socialized medicine).Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Even so, it’s during those rare moments of candor that our cultural Marxist friends’ rhetoric actually aligns with their intended actions. In other words, every so often, and usually by accident, they tell the truth.

Take this recent declaration by President Obama at Georgetown University. He was discussing his contempt for conservative new media in general and Fox News in particular:

“[W]e’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues,” he said.

How Kim Jong-un of him. In sum:

  • Goal 1) Control thought by,
  • Goal 2) Controlling the media.

This is an idea older than – and as well preserved as – Vladimir Lenin himself. How Dear Leader intends to reconcile his scheme to “change how the media reports on these issues” with the First Amendment’s Free Press Clause, namely, “Congress shall make no law … abridging the freedom … of the press,” is abundantly clear.

He doesn’t.

Our emperor-in-chief will force feed his once-free subjects yet another unconstitutional executive decree – a Net Neutrality sandwich with a side of Fairness Doctrine.

Or take would-be President Hillary Clinton’s comments last month on the “rite” of abortion vs. the right of religious freedom.

Reports LifeNews:

“The comment has Hillary Clinton essentially saying that Christians must be forced cp 11to change their religious views to accommodate abortions.

“‘Far too many women are still denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. All the laws we’ve passed don’t count for much if they’re not enforced,’ Clinton said, using the euphemism for abortion.

“‘Rights have to exist in practice – not just on paper,’ Clinton argued. ‘Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.’”

That’s a lot of “have tos.” See the pattern here? Whether it’s Obama saying government will “have to change how the media reports,” or Hillary saying “deep-seated religious beliefs have to be changed,” such despotic demands should spike the neck hair of every freedom-loving American.

ShovingAnd then there are those left-wing extremists whose designs on despotism require that Christians “must be made” to obey. Homosexual practitioner and New York Times columnist Frank Bruni is one such extremist. In his April 3 column titled, “Bigotry: The Bible and the Lessons of Indiana,” Bruni quotes homosexual militant Mitchell Gold, a prominent anti-Christian activist: “Gold told me that church leaders must be made ‘to take homosexuality off the sin list,’” he writes. “His commandment is worthy – and warranted,” he adds.

Of course, if homosexual behavior, something denounced as both “vile affections” and “an abomination” throughout both the Old and New Testaments, is no longer sexual sin, then there can be no sexual sin whatsoever. To coerce, through the power of the police state, faithful Christians to abandon the millennia-old biblical sexual ethic and embrace the sin of Sodom would likewise require that Christians sign-off on fornication, adultery, incest and bestiality. Such is the unnatural nature of government-mandated moral relativism.

“But this isn’t free speech, it’s hate speech!” come the mournful cries of the ill-informed and the ill-prepared, desperately afraid to debate the issues on the merits. “Hate speech is excluded from protection,” opines CNN anchor Chris Cuomo in a recent tweet on the topic. “But there is no hate speech exception to the First Amendment,” replies UCLA law professor Eugene Volohk in a Washington Post op-ed. “Hateful ideas (whatever exactly that might mean) are just as protected under the First Amendment as other ideas.”Truth The New Hate Speech

Of course this matters not to those to whom the First Amendment is meaningless. Indeed, one man’s “hate speech” is another man’s truth, and as I’ve often said, truth is hate to those who hate truth. And boy do they hate it. And so they mean to muzzle it.Men Love Darkness because they know

The time of which many of us have long warned is no longer on the horizon. The left’s full-on assault against freedom, most especially religious freedom, is at hand. Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, it’s at once the secular left and orthodox Muslims who lead the charge. These strange bedfellows share a common enemy. He is Truth in the person of Jesus Christ. In order to silence Him, they must silence His faithful followers.

Which brings us to this modern age of American lawlessness. We’re fast moving from a soft tyranny to hard tyranny, and “progressive” leaders like those mentioned above are, chillingly enough, emboldened to the degree that they will openly call for it.

Like our brothers and sisters around the world, American Christians must prepare for suffering. But, like them, we mustn’t despair. For there are different kinds of suffering.

Suffering through cancer, for instance, can, and often does, lead to death. Without Christ, who is mankind’s only hope, such suffering is hopeless indeed.

Yet when a young mother suffers through child birth, and while she may experience the same level of pain as the cancer sufferer, her crying out elicits an entirely different response, and her pain serves an entirely different purpose. While one type of suffering leads to death, the other leads to life. While one attends sorrow, the other attends joy.

Similarly, there is a kind of suffering, suffering in sin, which leads to spiritual death, and a kind suffering, suffering in grace, which leads to spiritual life. Anti-Christian persecution, be it efforts to force Christians into disobedience to God, attempts to silence them outright or, worse, the torture, enslavement and even execution of Christ followers – now widespread in both Muslim and Marxist nations across the globe – signifies “the beginning of birth pains” (see Matthew 24:8). And birth pains lead to new life.

SOUTH CAROLINA Democrats Oppose Legislation That Would Ban Islamic Sharia Law from State Courts

 Reported By

Islamization

The Republican-sponsored anti-sharia legislation which would ensure that Islamic and other foreign laws are kept out of consideration by South Carolina courts is being stonewalled by Democrat panderers who seek to appease Muslim supremacists pushing hard to get sharia law recognized by American courts.

Post and Courier: A vote on the anti-Sharia law bill was postponed until Tuesday at the earliest after an hours-long debate over Charleston Republican Rep. Chip Limehouse’s proposal. Limehouse has said a law is needed to prevent radical Islamic beliefs from infiltrating state courts. Democrats said the bill showed why the GOP was unfit to govern and why South Carolina is the butt of late-night television jokes. They accused Republicans of legislating off of Internet rumors.

Rep. James Smith, D-Columbia, called the bill “red meat” and “politics at its worst,” while Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter, D-Orangeburg, chastised Limehouse and others for having the wrong priorities.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Defenders of the measure said that events in Iraq and the growth of radical Islam in America mean that South Carolina should ensure that laws adhered to by militant groups like ISIS don’t end up in U.S. courts. Sharia law is also sometimes used in Muslim communities to settle contract disputes or family matters, although American courts are not bound by those rules. The terrorist group ISIS has used the 14th century laws to justify the beheading of prisoners in Syria and Iraq.

Limehouse has cited the Center for Security Policy, a conservative Washington, D.C.-based think tank, that has prompted states around the country to introduce laws banning the use of foreign or Sharia laws. The center has cited 146 cases in 32 states where Sharia law was used as a legal argument. Those states are Tennessee, Louisiana, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Washington, Alabama and Florida, according to the center.Got-Quran_thumb1-300x228

A fear of Islamic law has grown particularly among conservative groups around the country as terrorist groups have carried out attacks and spread their message on social media. Rep. Joe Neal, D-Hopkins, said Republicans were fear-mongering. “Laws in this state ought to be based on our Constitution not on fear, not on suspicion,” he said. “We’re better than this because we don’t need to give in to fear … and the kind of low-brow politics this seems to represent.”Picture9

Christian Genocide in Full Swing – Where Are Obama and Our Leaders?

waving flagAuthored by avatar , on 15 May, 2015

Christian PersecutionThe global slaughter of Christians is growing in leaps and bounds at the hands of Muslims and their supporters. ISIS or ISIL and other murderous Islamic relatives consider the daily torture and murder jobs of Christians simply obeying Muhammad and their pagan god Allah. Sometimes they offer the victim before they are murdered, the 3 choices stated in Chapter 9 of the Koran – 1) Forcibly convert to Islam 2) Give them great amounts of money as a high tax to stay alive 2) or be killed. Many times they don’t even offer them those options. Instead they just cut right to the torture and murder part – slow and gruesome.

Each week I interview on my national radio show, experts who have tasted the real horror offered up by Islam and are involved with exposing and confronting the real Islamic agenda. It is most clear that there is a real Christian genocide happening all around the world. Ted and Whalid Shoebat  have long exposed the slaughterhouses in Syria, where Christians are kidnapped, tortured, hung by their feet like cows, then butchered.

This is a regular occurrence along with ISIS and Islamic rebels wiping out whole Christian neighborhoods and villages.

Not only has America and Obama not helped the victims or confronted the Islamic murderers, but instead, Obama has been complicit in creating ISIS – ISIL by sending them (through Lybia) thousands of lethal and high-end weapons and money.muslim-obama Islamapologist Obama Muslim collection

Not only did America, under Barack Obama’s leadership, weaponize the Islamic rebels, growing and creating ISIS and its offspring, but the weapons pathway and illegal activities lead to the murder of Ambassador Stevens and staff. We are still awaiting justice and untangling the cover up that has followed for many years now. I pray Rep. Trey Gowdy pushes through the wall on this investigation and gets it right.

The genocide is funded and organized all around the world. All through Africa, where villages are torched; young girls are captured and used as sex slaves, husbands and fathers are murdered in front of their families and torture and kidnappings are daily staples. Iraq is a growing horror show as well and once again Obama says nothing except for Christians to get off their ‘high horse’ and be ashamed because of our involvement in the Great Crusade over 600 years ago. I am ashamed all right…I’m ashamed that Christians took so long to rise up at the hands of Muslim aggression, torture and stealing of their land. Will today in America end up being another place in history where we were ‘too little – too late’?

Several have screamed very loud, making desperate appeals to stop the madness and get help from the US and our Government to save lives, but Obama is nowhere on this. He just looks the other way as hundreds of thousands of American citizens and Christians are murdered in the name of Allah and Muhammad. Obama has gone way behind being another Neville Chamberlain horror. Obama knows that the tortures and blood letting is happening all over to Christians and does nothing about it. Chamberlain could hardly believe Hitler would be capable of such evil so imposed denial on himself.

Sister Dian Momeka of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena has spoken before the House Foreign Affairs Committee. She has described in Technicolor what is going on to Christians throughout Iraq. She describes it as mass genocide and has begged Obama and America for help. Her comments were covered in a Newsmax piece by Cathy Burke.

“As this horror spread throughout the Nineveh Plain, by Aug 6, 2014, Nineveh was emptied of Christians, and sadly, for the first time since the seventh century A.D., no church bells rang for Mass in the Plain of Nineveh,” she said, adding that since then, more than 120,000 people found themselves “displaced and homeless” in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. “The current persecution that our community is facing is the most brutal in our history.”

Cardinal Dolan and others have weighed in and warned Obama and America about our skewed lack of protection of Christians in the Mideast, yet nothing is done and Obama plays more golf.Break-Glass-600-wLogo Eye-balling-590-LI ISIS-Execution Lettermn-burn-590-LI Marthas-Fiddler Obama_Nero-2-330x189 unfit whatif World Crisis wraped up in himself

It appears as if by his brazen lack of action and even words against Christians, that Obama is in full support of the Islamic caliphate and murderous genocide of Christians worldwide. If he isn’t in support of this then he must do more than ‘sound bite’ theatre and brief empty statements reflecting no action.

We find ourselves in another Nazi Germany horror show of extermination again. This time it is the Christians and we have a President who not only looks the other way, he funds and weaponizes the murderous Islamic groups that are doing it all.

Egypt’s first freely elected leader sentenced to death

Egypt President Mohammed Morsi
AP Egypt’s ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi sits in a defendant cage in the Police Academy courthouse in Cairo, May 8, 2014.

Morsi, Egypt’s first freely elected leader, was ousted by the military in July 2013 following days of mass street protests by Egyptians demanding that he be removed because of his divisive policies. Morsi’s successor, Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, was the military chief at the time and led the ouster. El-Sissi ran for president last year and won the vote in a landslide.

Also sentenced to death with Morsi in the prison break case were 105 defendants, most of them were tried and convicted in absentia. They include some 70 Palestinians. Those tried in absentia in Egypt receive automatic retrials once detained.

Supporters of Morsi and his now outlawed Muslim Brotherhood chanted “down, down with military rule” as el-Shami announced the verdict in the courtroom, a converted lecture hall in the national police academy in an eastern Cairo suburb.

Prosecutors have alleged in the case that armed members of the Palestinian Hamas group entered Egypt during the 18-day uprising through illegal tunnels running under Gaza’s border with Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. Taking advantage of the uprising’s turmoil, the militants fought their way into several prisons, releasing Morsi, more than 30 other Brotherhood leaders, and some 20,000 inmates, prosecutors say. Several prison guards were killed and parts of the stormed prisons were damaged.
riots egyptThose sentenced to death with Morsi on Saturday were the Brotherhood’s spiritual leader, Mohammed Badie, as well as one of the Arab world’s best known Islamic scholars, the Qatar-based Youssef al-Qaradawi.

Also sprang out of jail in 2011 were Hezbollah and Hamas operatives who had been convicted and sentenced to jail terms over terror-related charges. Those days of chaos and bloodshed in 2011 also saw dozens of police stations across the country stormed by protesters. Media commentators maintain that the jailbreaks and the attack on police stations were part of a Brotherhood plot to spread fear and chaos to ensure the fall of Mubarak.

The Brotherhood went on to win every election held in Egypt between 2011 and until Morsi’s ouster in July 2013. Its popularity began to dramatically slide after Morsi took office in June 2012 and he decreed himself above any sort of oversight later that year and became increasingly perceived to be working for the Brotherhood and its supporters, not all Egyptians.

Hamas is the Palestinian chapter of the Brotherhood and its leaders enjoyed close relations with Morsi during his one year in office. It has consistently denied meddling in Egypt’s affairs, including participating in the 2011 mass prison break, but relations between the group and the post-Morsi government in Cairo have been fraught with tension. Egypt frequently accuses Hamas of being behind some of the attacks staged by Islamic militants in northern Sinai since Morsi’s ouster. Amr Darrag, a Cabinet minister under Morsi and a cofounder of the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, condemned Saturday’s verdicts.

“Today will be remembered as one of the darkest days in Egypt history,” Darrag said in a statement. But “there is something far larger at stake — the rights of millions of Egyptians to live freely and without fear, and to choose their leaders through the ballot box.”

Amnesty International also denounced the verdicts, which come after several mass death penalty trials criticized by human rights activists and world powers. It called for a retrial, asserting that all evidence gathered from Morsi and other defendants were inadmissible because of what it called their illegal detention prior to trial.

“The death penalty has become the favorite tool for the Egyptian authorities to purge the political opposition,” Amnesty said.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

Morsi already is serving a 20-year sentence following his conviction on April 21 on charges linked to the killing of protesters outside a Cairo presidential palace in December 2012. The former president escaped a death sentence in a separate case before el-Shami related to allegations that Morsi, several of his aides, and leaders of the Brotherhood allegedly passed state secrets to foreign groups, including Hamas group and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, during his one year in office. A total of 16 senior Brotherhood leaders and aides were sentenced to death by el-Shami in that case. The 16 include one woman, Sondos Assem, a presidential press aide who is now a fugitive.

A verdict on Morsi’s role in that case will be announced in the June 2 hearing.

Even if confirmed by the mufti, Saturday’s death sentences still can be appealed.

al-baghdadi

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi sent out a chilling message to fellow Muslims in an online post, calling on followers of the faith to get in the religious war and that Islam has never been about peace. His message, titled “March Forth Whether Heavy or Light,” was posted at the online site Downrange and points to a single verse in the Quran calling on believers to “strive with your wealth and your lives in the cause of Allah,” Jihad Watch reported.

Baghdadi’s post: “O Muslims, Islam was never for a day the religion of peace. Islam is the religion of war.” He then appealed directly to fellow believers to get in the fight.

“Where are you in relation to your prophet (peace be upon him) whom you claim to emulate, and who spent his whole life … as a mujahid for the cause of Allah, fighting for his enemies? His lateral incisor tooth was broken in battle, his forehead was wounded, two rings from his chainmail cut his cheeks, his helmet was broken on his head and blood ran down his face.”

Baghdadi also said Muslims ought to realize “the Jews, the Christians and the rest of the disbelievers” will not “abandon waging war against you until you follow their religion and apostatize from yours,” and as such, should join ISIS.Christian Persecution

“This war is only against you and against your religion,” he wrote, Jihad Watch reported. “Has the time not come for you to return to your religion and your jihad and thereby bring back your glory, honor, rights and leadership? Has the time not come for you to know that there is no might nor honor nor safety nor rights for you except in the shade of the caliphate? … Therefore, O Muslims, seek shelter, after Allah, with the Islamic State.”against America

FBI will investigate report object struck train before Philly derailment

waving flagPublished May 16, 2015, FoxNews.com

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/05/15/ntsb-examining-damage-on-derailed-amtrak-train/

The FBI will investigate a report that a projectile may have hit an Amtrak train moments before it derailed in Philadelphia, killing eight people, the Wall Street Journal reported Saturday. FBI forensic experts are going to examine damage to the train’s windshield after the train’s crew reported something may have hit it before the crash, the paper said. National Transportation Safety Board member Robert Sumwalt said the FBI was brought in after investigators interviewed three of the train’s crew members, including engineer Brandon Bostian. Sumwalt said Bostian was “extremely cooperative but didn’t remember anything after passing the North Philadelphia station.

The derailment Tuesday killed eight people and injured more than 200 people. The train jumped the tracks as it approached a sharp curve at 106 mph, more than twice the speed limit. Without Bostian’s cooperation investigators face a tough task trying to determine why the train accelerated from more than 70 miles per hour to 106 mph over 65 seconds, the Journal said.

Sumwalt said a conductor aboard the train reported hearing a conversation in which the engineer of a nearby local regional train told her engineer that his engine had been hit by an object or shot at and she thought she heard her engineer say the same thing may have happened to him. The conductor said that right after that conversation she felt rumbling, followed by the train car turning over on its side.

Sumwalt said his team has “seen damage to the left hand lower portion of the Amtrak windshield” and has asked the FBI to look at it.

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority spokeswoman Jerri Williams told the Philadelphia Inquirer at the time of the accident that a Trenton, N.J.-bound commuter train had been struck by an “unknown projectile” around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, breaking the engineer’s window. The Amtrak train derailed about 9:30 p.m. three miles away.

SEPTA does not yet know what caused the damage to its train that night, Williams said. SEPTA trains traveling through the area — including one of the poorest and most violent parts of the city — have had projectiles thrown at them in the past, whether by vandals or teenagers, she said. It was unusual that the SEPTA train was forced to stop on Tuesday night.

Sumwalt said Bostian told investigators he last remembered ringing the train’s bell while passing through the North Philadelphia station Tuesday night. “He has no recollection of anything past that,” Sumwalt said. Bostian’s lawyer has said his client suffered a concussion in the wreck. He said Bostian had not been using his cell phone and had not been drinking or using drugs.

ISIS Official Killed in U.S. Raid in Syria, Pentagon Says

  MAY 16, 2015

WASHINGTON — American Special Operations forces mounted a rare raid into eastern Syria early Saturday, killing a leader of the Islamic State and about a dozen militant fighters, as well as capturing his wife and freeing an 18-year old Yazidi woman whom Pentagon officials said had been held as a slave.

In the first successful raid by American ground troops since the military campaign against the Islamic State began last year, two dozen Delta Force commandos entered Syria aboard Black Hawk helicopters and V-22 Ospreys and killed the leader, a man known as Abu Sayyaf. One American military official described him as the Islamic State’s “emir of oil and gas.”

Even so, Abu Sayyaf is a midlevel leader in the organization — one terrorism analyst compared him to Al Capone’s accountant — and likely is replaceable in fairly short order. And the operation, while successful, comes as the Islamic State has been advancing in the Iraqi city of Ramadi, demonstrating that the fight against the Sunni militant group in both Iraq and Syria remains very fluid.

Yet the Pentagon’s description of a nighttime raid that found its intended target deep inside Syria without any American troops being wounded or killed illustrates not only the effectiveness of the Delta Force, but of improving American intelligence on shadowy Islamic State leaders.

A Defense Department official said Islamic State fighters who defended their building and Abu Sayyaf tried to use women and children as shields, but that the Delta Force commandos “used very precise fire” and “separated the women and children.” The official said the operation involved close “hand-to-hand fighting.” (The accounts of the raid came from military and government officials and could not be immediately verified through independent sources.)

The American forces eventually entered the building where they found Abu Sayyaf and his wife, known as Umm Sayyaf, in a room together. His spouse was captured and later moved to a military facility in Iraq, officials said.

map

The raid came after weeks of surveillance of Abu Sayyaf, using information gleaned from a small but growing network of informants whom the C.I.A. and the Pentagon have painstakingly developed in Syria, as well as satellite imagery, drone reconnaissance and electronic eavesdropping, American officials said. The White House rejected initial reports from the region that attributed the raid to the forces of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria.

“The U.S. government did not coordinate with the Syrian regime, nor did we advise them in advance of this operation,” said Bernadette Meehan, the National Security Council spokeswoman. “We have warned the Assad regime not to interfere with our ongoing efforts against ISIL inside of Syria,” she added, using another name for the Islamic State, which is also known as ISIS.

In a statement early Saturday, Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter said the killing of Abu Sayyaf dealt a “significant blow” to the group. The militant leader was said to be involved in the Islamic State’s military operations and helped direct its “illicit oil, gas and financial operations” that raised the funds necessary for the organization to operate. Officials said the raid was approved by President Obama.

Defense Department officials said the Delta Force soldiers carrying out the raid came under fire soon after they landed near a building used by Abu Sayyaf as his residence, in Amr, about 20 miles southeast of Deir al-Zour, near the oil facilities that he oversaw for the Islamic State.

The commandos had left Iraq aboard the aircraft, and were soon on the ground in Amr, a Defense Department official said. They came under fire, the official said, and fired back, killing around a dozen Islamic State fighters. “The objective was the building, a multistory building,” the official said. He spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly.

Abu Sayyaf “tried to engage” the commandos, the Defense Department official said, and was shot and killed. The commandos took his wife and the Yazidi woman back to the waiting American aircraft, which, by then, had sustained a number of bullet holes from the firefight with the Islamic State fighters. Defense Department officials said only Islamic State fighters had been killed in the mission, and that they had received no reports of civilian casualties. But officials acknowledged that they were still gathering information on the raid.

The commandos were back in Iraq with the two women around dawn local time, officials said. They said the American forces were able to seize communications equipment and other materials from the site, which may prove useful in intelligence assessments.

The Yazidi woman, Mr. Carter said, will be reunited with her family as soon as possible. It was unclear on Saturday what would be done with Umm Sayyaf, who, according to Mr. Carter’s statement, is suspected of playing an important role in the group’s activities and “may have been complicit in what appears to have been the enslavement” of the Yazidi woman.Picture2

The Yazidis are a religious minority persecuted by the Islamic State.Picture3

David Thomson, an analyst and author of the book “The French Jihadists,” said by email that he had confirmed with sources inside the Islamic State that Abu Sayyaf was a Tunisian emir, who had traveled to Iraq as far back as 2003. As a member of the first wave of jihadists who arrived in Iraq over a decade ago, he and his Tunisian colleagues were called “Al Iraqi,” creating confusion over his nationality.

The operation came just months after three unsuccessful raids by American commandos in Syria and Yemen to free American hostages.

In the first one, in Syria last summer, two dozen Delta Force commandos raided an oil refinery in the northern part of the country as part of the effort to free James Foley, an American journalist, but found after a firefight that there were no hostages to be saved.

Mr. Foley was later beheaded by the Islamic State.

In the second, on Nov. 25, American Special Operations forces entered a cave near Yemen’s border with Saudi Arabia in an effort to free Luke Somers, an American photojournalist. But he was not there; the forces freed eight other hostages and killed seven militants.

A few days later, in December, American forces mounted another attempt to free Mr. Somers, storming a village in southern Yemen, but that raid ended in tragedy with the kidnappers killing Mr. Somers and a South African held with him.

Saturday’s raid into Syria represents an important threshold for the administration in showing that it will continue to send American ground troops into conflicts outside major war zones — as it has in Yemen, Somalia and Libya — to capture or kill suspected terrorists.

Although Abu Sayyaf himself was not a well-known figure, he was important as much for who and what he knew about the Islamic State’s hierarchy and operations, as for his actual job.

“He managed the oil infrastructure and financial generation details for ISIL,” the senior United States official said. “Given that job, he was pretty well-connected.”

Bruce O. Riedel, a former C.I.A. analyst now at the Brookings Institution, said the operation looked like “a collection mission, the goal to capture someone or two someones who can explain how ISIS works.” With Abu Sayyaf now dead, he said, “perhaps the wife can do that.”

But, he added: “To me, it demonstrates we still have large gaps in our understanding of the enemy and how it is organized.”

ISIS Threatens More Attacks On American Soil; Names States and Time Frame

waving flagMay 15, 2015 By

ZAO8S.AuSt.91

Should Americans expect additional terror attacks within our borders in the very near future? According to the Islamic State itself, and reports by Judicial Watch, the answer is a resounding ‘Yes.’

According to CNN, ISIS recently made the following threat on its official radio station:

“We say to the defenders of the cross, the U.S., that future attacks are going to be harsher and worse. The Islamic State soldiers will inflict harm on you with the grace of God. The future is just around the corner.”

against AmericaThe comment came days after an attack in Garland, Texas in which two gunmen, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi, wounded a security guard before police shot and killed them. The ISIS radio announcer also referred to Simpson and Soofi as the terror group’s “brothers.”

While ISIS claimed responsibility two days after the attack, there was no immediate indication that the terror group in Iraq and Syria had contact with Simpson or Soofi, who both lived in Phoenix.  Meanwhile, U.S. authorities continue to search for clues that could possibly link Sunday’s shooters with the Islamic State. Moments before the shooting, Simpson posted a tweet with the hashtag #texasattack: “May Allah accept us as mujahideen,” and immediately after, an ISIS supporter tweeted: “Allahu Akbar!!!! 2 of our brothers just opened fire.”

Western Journalism also recently reported that ISIS proclaimed that it has “71 trained soldiers in 15 different states” in the U.S. “ready at our word to attack any target we desire.” The group specifically mentioned five targeted states including Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, California, and Michigan, and promised that “The next six months will be interesting.”Picture4

ISIS is reportedly operating training camps in the northern Mexican border state of Chihuahua, just eight miles from the Texas border.  Coyotes have been smuggling terrorists into the United States near El Paso from the harsh region run by drug cartels. With a porous southern border which the Obama Administration adamantly refuses to secure, and an Islamic jihadist group bent on annihilating Christians, how long will it be before we can expect to take a direct hit in the homeland?

Soviet Intelligence Officer: Liberation Theology was Invented by the KGB

Reported by May 14, 2015

Rightepousness blesses a nation

Ion Mihai Pacepa served as a general in the USSR’s intelligence service before defecting to the United States in the late 70’s. He recently gave an interview to the Catholic News Agency in which he claimed that the Liberation Theology that has been so prevalent in Latin America for the last generation was a disinformation campaign that had its genesis at the highest levels of the Kremlin.

So what is Liberation Theology? Picture Karl Marx skipping around in priestly robes, sprinkling holy water all willy nilly, while calling for the oppressed poor to honor God by slaughtering those who have a dime more than they do. It’s what you hear out of Obama and HRC and Pelosi when they decide to wax Christianly. Communism in its Sunday-go-to-meetin’ clothes.righteous leadership

Pacepa’s claims are fascinating, if not easily verifiable. Some of the takeaway thoughts from the interview include:

  • Krushchev believed that Liberation Theology would be the vehicle that allowed him to go down in history as the man who successfully exported Communism to Central and South America.
  • The KGB was enamored with the word “liberation,” and that’s how it came to be in the forefront of the National Liberation Army of Columbia (FARC), the National Liberation Army of Bolivia, and the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO)–all of which had their origins in KGB headquarters and whose leaders were all KGB puppets (Fidel Castor, Che Guevera, and Yassar Arrafat, respectively).
  • The ecumenical, international church organizations known back then as the Christian Peace Council and the World Peace Council were pure KGB inventions. The plan for exporting Liberation Theology also involved taking over the World Council of Churches (WCC).

Picture1

As interesting and historically important as I find this to be, it must be said that none of it represents something new under the Sun. It is a common mark of all governmental tyrannies that they have seen religion as a double-edged sword: dangerous to their own dominance on the one hand, but a very useful tool for their purposes on the other. If the Wicked

Most of us are familiar with the stories about Hitler’s attempt, not merely to silence the churches in Germany, but to actually change Christian theology altogether. We are also familiar with the stories of the Nazi practice of sending agents in to church services to monitor the sermons. I have heard recently, from an organization working on behalf of persecuted Christians in North Korea, that the believers there have a darkly humorous saying amongst themselves: “Wherever two or more are gathered in His Name…one of them is a government agent.”Leftist determonation to destroy freedom of religion

Will we see this in America? Hear me out with my answer here. I say, no we won’t, not in any systematic fashion.

And the reason that we won’t is because the federal government in America needs no program, needs to send out no agents, needs to develop no disinformation campaigns…because our churches routinely do what the tyrants are hoping for, with no government prodding at all.If a nation is not guided by God

muslim-obamaA recent survey among Evangelical pastors showed that ninety percent of them know full well that the Bible speaks to every problem we now face in America, including economics, domestic politics, education, foreign policy, etc. But out of those pastors, who represent nine out of every ten, eight of the nine purposely decide not to speak or teach about any of those things.

Instead, they focus on things like Three Steps to a Great Marriage, or Five Point Strategies for Getting Ahead. Or, on the more “serious” side, they preach the Gospel to the saved week after week, and focus purely on the condition of your trembling little heart before the Lord. For these, the whole point of the Bible is you and Jesus off in your own corner somewhere, sharing warm fuzzies together over the Psalms.

The feds don’t need to invent a subversive theology and smuggle it into your church. They don’t need a disinformation campaign to get your pulpits to tell you to bend over and take whatever the government wants to give you. That theology is being preached voluntarily already, as I show in my book, Resistance to Tyrants: Romans 13 and the Christian Duty to Oppose Wicked Rulers.

You will not hear from these pulpit-puppets about men of faith, like the rogue, bastard, gang-leader Jephthah, who slaughtered the enemies of God, including a king and queen, and counted it a measure of his zeal for the Lord to do so; whose name is eternally enshrined in the Hall of Fame of Faith in Hebrews 11. Mr. Obama would be worried about Jephthah. He’d send agents to watch him. He doesn’t need to send agents to watch your pastor. Strained peas look at your pastor and say, “Dude, congrats. You’ve taken bland to a whole new level.”A nation is strong

They don’t need to scheme to take our inheritance. We’ve sold it already for a mess of pottage in the form of popularity, convenience, big crowds, and bigger paychecks.

Are there faithful pastors still? Sure. One in ten, if the numbers bear out. Which means that for every Christian reading these lines, there is a ninety percent chance that your pastor is one of the useful, duped sheeple the government loves. “Not my guy!” you say. “My guy is great. I love my guy!”a lawless government

Has your guy ever stood in the pulpit and pointed out that both abortion and sodomy ought to be capital crimes? Even more telling, has he ever made any public waves about these things? Has he ever given you Biblical reasons why socialism is wrong? You love your guy, and that’s a good thing. But if the answers are honestly “No” to those questions, the government loves him too. They don’t need to worry about him.

BREAKING: Natalee Holloway’s Father Makes Major Announcement Confirming New Eyewitness Report

waving flagReported by Katie McGuire Katie McGuire

A major announcement from Natalee Holloway’s father regarding the *alleged* eyewitness that has come forward, claiming to have seen another man carrying her body. He didn’t come forward because of his own involvement in criminal activity. But what he has to say will shock you about Natalee and the location of her body:

nataleeholloway

Jurrien de Jong said that he saw Joran van der Sloot carrying Holloway’s body on the night of her disappearance. He claimed that he didn’t come forward earlier because he had been involved in criminal activity.

Inside Edition reported:

De Jong goes on to say that he witnessed Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in Natalee’s disappearance, carrying Natalee’s body on the night she disappeared. He states, “I saw that Joran was chasing Natalee into a small building under construction. In about five minutes he came out with Natalee in his arms, and slammed the body of Natalee on the floor, and then he made an opening in a crawl space…I knew she was dead.”

Dave Holloway said that he recently went to Aruba with a canine to search for his daughter, but that they weren’t permitted to search “restricted areas.”

Holloway told Gretchen Carlson that he went on Google Earth and pulled up the exact location where the alleged witness claims he saw van der Sloot and Natalee.

“Lo and behold, [the location] was under construction at the time,” Holloway told Carlson.

“Things are starting to make sense now,” he said of de Jong’s claims.

Hopefully, this father can finally get some closure on the loss of his baby girl . I can only imagine how I would feel if it was one of my precious babies. I hope that you find the answers that you seek and that you can finally lay your baby to rest.

School Orders Student To Remove “Offensive” US Flag From Truck

A school in South Carolina has come under fire for ordering a student to remove a US flag from his truck because it could “possibly” be offensive to some people. As reported by WBTV, 18-year-old senior Peyton Robinson was ordered to remove two flags by an administrator at York Comprehensive High School Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, Robinson noted that the official told him “‘We’re having some issues. Some people were complaining about the flags in your truck,’” and that the offending items should be removed before the student returned to school the next day. Worse still, Robinson says that a school official had even unscrewed bolts holding the flags to the truck, and laid them in the back “when I wasn’t even there.”

“That’s our country’s flag. I have every right to do it.” Robinson argued. “I don’t see a safety issue. I mean I understand it’s a big flag – it’s 4 by 6 – but nobody has ever complained about it being in their way or anything.” he added.Free Speech Definition

The school officials then changed their story, suggesting that the flags constituted “safety concerns,” with the Superintendent suggesting they could block the view of drivers and cause accidents. It isn’t clear why school officials changed their story and suddenly took on the role of traffic cops. By Thursday, however, the school completely reversed its position, following protests by students, parents, and veterans who flocked to school grounds waving US flags. School officials relented and said Robinson and other students are free to fly US flags on vehicles so long as they pose no hazard.

“Due to the outstanding display of patriotism through peaceful demonstration, it is apparent to us that many are not happy about this policy,” the school district posted on its website. “School officials have reviewed the standing policy regarding flags and have decided that an exception will be made for the American flag, as long as the size of the flag(s) does not create a driving hazard.”Liberalism a mental disorder 2

“When I hear that you can’t fly the American flag it makes my blood run red, and my blood is red,” said Vietnam Veteran Michael Douglas, protesting at the school.

“We’re just glad we got this victory today, and it just proves if you stand up for your country, you stand up for what you believe in, things get changed,” said James Crump, another protester.Picture2

Robinson told reporters he was happy with the outcome and is “Just proud to be an American.”

“I’m really surprised all these people showed up and I’m really appreciative of all the support from everybody, I had no idea it would get this big,” Robinson said.

This is not an isolated incident.

It appears that many school districts are adopting similar restrictions on displays of patriotism. On the last anniversary of 9/11, students at another South Carolina high school were told to remove flags because there is a district-wide policy prohibiting students from “drawing attention” to their vehicles.

Other students have been punished and even suspended for flying and wearing American flags. Some schools have attempted to crack down on American flags being displayed on Cinco de Mayo, the Mexican holiday, for fear students of Mexican heritage may be offended.Picture5

The Supreme Court recently refused to review a case concerning California school officials banning students from wearing American flag t-shirts for fear of the garments being ‘disruptive’. This decision effectively affirmed a Ninth Circuit court ruling restricting the display of flags, setting a troubling precedent that, despite the First Amendment, displays of patriotism in America can be prohibited if deemed “offensive.”more evidence

ISIS seizes government compound in Iraq’s Ramadi

Mideast Iraq Islamic State-1

Islamic State militants on Friday captured the main government compound in Ramadi, the capital of Iraq’s western Anbar province, after fierce clashes with security forces. Ramadi’s Mayor Dalaf al-Kubaisi says the militants raised the black flag of ISIS over the area after troops were forced to withdraw from the compound, which houses most of the city’s government offices. He said the IS militants, who also seized other parts of the city, are now attacking the Anbar Operation Command, the military headquarters for the province.

Dalaf said at least 10 policemen were killed in the fighting and dozens of other security forces were wounded. He said IS militants killed several captured policemen and army officers in the city, where most civilians have fled.

U.S. troops saw some of the heaviest fighting of the eight-year Iraq intervention in Anbar, and Ramadi was a major insurgent stronghold. The IS group captured the nearby city of Fallujah and parts of Ramadi in January 2014, months before its main sweep across northern and western Iraq.

The IS assault on the Ramadi government compound began with three nearly simultaneous suicide car bombings. Two Humvees previously seized from the Iraqi army were used in Friday’s attack, al-Kubaisi said. Dozens of families were forced to flee their homes in the area, said Athal al-Fahdawi, an Anbar councilman.

The head of Anbar’s provincial council, Sabah Karhout, appealed to the central government in Baghdad to send reinforcements and urged the U.S.-led coalition to increase airstrikes against the militants in Ramadi. “The city is undergoing vicious attack by Daesh and we are in dire need of any kind of assistance,” Karhout said, using the Arabic acronym for the IS group.

American Conservative Union Reveals Only Presidential Candidate With 100% Conservative Voting Record

waving flagWritten by  Wednesday, 05/13/2015

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://chicksontheright.com/blog/item/28843-american-conservative-union-reveals-only-presidential-candidate-with-100-conservative-voting-record

Every year, the American Conservative Union releases their ratings of U.S. lawmakers. It basically makes it easier for the public to hold them accountable. You can say you’re a conservative– championing limited government, fiscal responsibility and free market policies– all day, but that dumb cliché is true. Actions speak louder than words.

Most Republicans scored over 60 percent, but only sixteen scored a 100 percent conservative voting record. Of those, only one is officially running for president.

It’s none other than Sen. Ted Cruz.

A slim few Republicans were rated between 40 and 49 percent on the scale, with the majority of them scoring 60 percent and above. Sixteen earned a 100 percent rating this year, including Sen. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Rep. Ron DeSantis.

(On a side note, I interned for Rep. Ron DeSantis, and he’s a GREAT guy. I truly believe he’s going to be a HUGE player in the conservative movement as he advances his political career. Keep an eye out for him!)

Mr. Schlapp and his research team also compared the cumulative records from other lawmakers, in other years. “Another interesting fact in our analysis is the stark reminder that Hillary Clinton is no moderate,” he says. “While many in the media portray her as more centrist than self-described Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders or fringe activist Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Clinton’s lifetime rating of 8.13 percent is within two percentage points from those extremists.”

It should also be noted that all of the Democrats running for president (so far) scored lower than Obama’s abysmal 10 percent cumulative Senate voting record.

Here are the results for the Senate:

Supreme Court Rules that Cops DO NOT Need a Warrant to Search Your Home

By Matt Agorist on February 26, 2014

In another devastating blow to freedom, the Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police don’t need a warrant to search your property. As long as two occupants disagree about allowing officers to enter, and the resident who refuses access is then arrested, police may enter the residence. “Instead of adhering to the warrant requirement,” Ginsburg wrote, “today’s decision tells the police they may dodge it, never mind ample time to secure the approval of a neutral magistrate.” Tuesday’s ruling, she added, “shrinks to petite size our holding in Georgia v. Randolph.”

Georgia v. Randolph was a similar case the Supreme Court addressed in 2006, in which a domestic violence suspect would not allow police to enter his home, though his wife did offer police consent. The police ultimately entered the home. The Court ruled in the case that the man’s refusal while being present in the home should have kept authorities from entering.

“A physically present inhabitant’s express refusal of consent to a police search [of his home] is dispositive as to him, regardless of the consent of a fellow occupant,” the majority ruled in that case.

The majority, led by Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., said police need not take the time to get a magistrate’s approval before entering a home in such cases. But dissenters, led by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, warned that the decision would erode protections against warrantless home searches. The court had previously held that such protections were at the “very core” of the 4th Amendment and its ban on unreasonable searches and seizures, reports the LA Times.

According to the AP, Justice Samuel Alito wrote the court’s 6-3 decision holding that an occupant may not object to a search when he is not at home. “We therefore hold that an occupant who is absent due to a lawful detention or arrest stands in the same shoes as an occupant who is absent for any other reason,” Alito said.

In other words, you have no property rights slave, and we can snoop through your personal belongings if we wish.Tyranney Alert

The implications for such a Stasi-esque interpretation of the 4th Amendment are staggering. This can and will open the door to even more unscrupulous police behavior. They will only need to say that someone may be in danger, and now they are justified in ransacking your home.

While this doesn’t particularly allow for police to choose and enter any home they wish, it is nothing to be downplayed, especially since Justice Ginsburg, one of their own, even stated that this could lead to even more erosion of what is left of the 4th Amendment.

University Professor sues Catholic University Because Crosses Offend Muslims

waving flagReported by  Michael Becker

You read that right.  Unfortunately.  John Banzhaf is a George Washington University law professor who is always working to undermine religious expression (unless you’re a Muslim) and traditional values. This week he’s suing Washington DC’s Catholic University.  Basically he’s suing them for being Catholic and having the audacity to live out their values in the public square. Actually, not even the public square.  Catholic University is a private school.

Here’s Catholic University President John Garvey standing in front of one of the many offending crosses (actually it’s a Crucifix) on the campus.

Banzhaf’s lawsuit caught University officials unawares since no student has filed a complaint with the University.  But that wouldn’t stop Banzhaf, who has a separate law suit in process against the school because they eliminated mixed-gender dorms.

He alleges that the university, “does not provide space – as other universities do – for the many daily prayers Muslim students must make, forcing them instead to find temporarily empty classrooms where they are often surrounded by Catholic symbols which are incongruous to their religion,” according to the Tower, Catholic University’s student newspaper.

The complaint further objects that Muslims must pray at the school’s chapels “and at the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.”Picture5

It’s not like Catholic University was desperately trying to hide who they are and then spring attempted conversions on unknowing college students.  They’re not called “Washington DC University” or “Capitol University” or something sneaky like that. The name on the gate, and on all their correspondence is “Catholic University.”  We would expect that a university bearing that name would demonstrate their articles of faith.  Frankly, we’re surprised there’s not a requirement to attend Mass every day.  And if we were enrolled there and that was a requirement, we’d put our Baptist Protestantism aside and go to Mass.

We are forced to agree with Thomas Peters who writes for Catholic Vote.

“Normally I would have confidence that this lawsuit will be deemed without merit, but the way things are going these days, I just can’t be sure anymore.  Simply incredible.”

And simply disgusting.

What’s next, a lawsuit to remove crosses from military cemeteries?

Already been filed.  Really.

Romans 13, Christian Resistance, and the Coming Tyranny

waving flagPosted on May 13, 2015 by

If the Wicked

If a nation is not guided by God

Good people who don't standIn a previous article I discussed the biblical principle of Christian resistance as it relates to the upcoming Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage. As was pointed out in that article, there are examples in the Bible of God’s people resisting direct commands by civil officials based on a very specific set of higher law principles.

Christian apologist Francis A. Schaeffer wrote, “Let us not forget why the Christians were killed. They were not killed because they worshipped Jesus… Nobody cared who worshipped whom as long as the worshipper did not disrupt the unity of the state, centered in the formal worship of Caesar. The reason Christians were killed was because they were rebels”1 and placed the God of the Bible over the claim that the State and its Caesars were gods. The proof?: “they all act contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, Jesus” (Acts 17:7).burke

This is an old story that has a modern history. King James of the King James Bible wanted a translation that countered the notes in the 1559 Geneva Bible, the Bible of the Puritans and Pilgrims. “For example, the margin notes for Daniel 6:22 imply that the commands of kings are to be disobeyed if they conflict with the law of God: ‘For he [Daniel] disobeyed the king’s wicked commandment in order to obey God, and so he did no injury to the king, who ought to command nothing by which God would be dishonored.’”2

“Embarkation of the Pilgrims.”

Alister McGrath comments:

“Notice also how the Genevan notes  regularly use the word ‘tyrant’ to refer to kings; the King James Bible never uses this word—a fact noted with approval as much as relief by many royalists at this point.”3

It’s no wonder that King James “authorized a fresh translation of the Bible to undermine the republican implications of the Geneva Bible.”4

Because of its no exception tone, Romans 13 is seen as prohibiting all resistance to the law of the State: “Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. . . (v. 1). The apostle lists no exceptions. Peter makes a similar statement: “Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right” (1 Peter 2:13-14). Again, no exceptions. This is the same Peter who declared, “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29; cf. 4:19-20). How do we reconcile the apparent contradiction?Picture1

Jonathan Mayhew (1720-1766) states the following in his 1750 sermon “Concerning Unlimited Submission and Non-Resistance to the Higher Powers”:

“Thus, upon a careful review of the apostle’s reasoning in this passage, it appears that his arguments to enforce submission, are of such a nature, as to conclude only in favor of submission to such rulers as he himself describes; i.e., such as rule for the good of society, which is the only end of their institution. Common tyrants, and public oppressors, are not entitled to obedience from their subjects, by virtue of anything here laid down by the inspired apostle.”There are a number of places in Scripture where one verse speaks in absolute terms and other verses offer exceptions. This is not unusual. If I tell my grandchildren to go outside and play until dinner is ready, I have spoken in absolute terms. They are not to come into the house until they are called. No exceptions are given. What if it rains? What if a large dog enters the yard? Can they enter the house without violating my absolute and no exception command?

They would not be violating my “no exception” command because there are unspoken exceptions. They are assumed to be operating without them having to be repeated each time a new command is given. They have been told on previous occasions to “come in when it’s raining” and “do not get near stray dogs that wander into the yard.”

The Bible operates in the same manner. In one place Jesus says, “All those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword” (Matt. 26:52). Does this include the civil magistrate? What about the person who strikes an assailant in self-defense? Is this not an exception to Jesus’ “no exception” statement? Since the Bible already discusses self-defense (Ex. 22:2-3; Deut. 19:21) and the role of the civil magistrate (e.g., Gen. 9:6), there is no need to repeat the exceptions since Jesus’ hearers knew He has anarchy and revolution in mind (e.g., Lev. 19:18), not the just use of the sword. Romans 13:4 explains that it is the duty of the civil magistrate to use the sword in certain specified cases. Is this a contradiction? No.Tree of Liberty 03

So then, when we read passages like Romans 13:1 and 1 Peter 2:13-14, we must not neglect the rest of the Bible that is equally authoritative and more fully explains and qualifies these passages.

“Many general statements of Scripture must be open to admitting exceptions even those qualifications are not immediately spelled out. Why are so many generalizations stated without qualification? Because the exact conditions restricting their applicability are not known, or because the “accidental” or providential circumstances that render them inapplicable occur so seldom as to be practically negligible, or because such qualification has already been stipulated in another inscripturated context.”5The Persecution has Begun

In summary, we must recognize that as the State becomes more tyrannical and non-Christian in its social and political policies, conflicts between church and State will multiply. That conflict may make it necessary for Christians to say no to statist laws that will force them to violate the laws of God.freedom

There is an additional reason why Christians must understand the limits of civil jurisdiction and the limits of resistance. Because of a desire to see the current corruption in our own nation reversed, some Christians may take it upon themselves to bring about change by revolutionary means. This is an unbiblical agenda to pursue. There is no warrant in Scripture for a revolutionary spirit.

How Christians go about resisting is a question that needs to be answered in exacting detail. The fact that we have lesser magistrates – state governments, governors, and state constitutions – that can serve as legitimate governing authorities as a means to rebuff civil and judicial tyranny is a viable governing avenue for Christians to take.
