The Pravda press has asked former President Donald Trump over and over again whether he’ll accept the results of the election if his Democrat opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, wins. Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, has heard the question ad nauseam as well.

CBS News political correspondent Caitlin Huey-Burns peppered the former president with the question in late August, as the Democratic National Committee was installing Harris as the party’s nominee following President Joe Biden’s forced exit from his reelection campaign.

“Will you accept the results of this election?” the reporter asked

“Absolutely. I assume it’s going to be a fair election. If it’s going to be a fair and free election the answer is absolutely I will,” Trump said.

Burns pressed with this ridiculous question. “What does fair mean to you?”

“It means the votes are counted. It means that votes are fair,” Trump said. “It means they don’t cheat on the election, they don’t drop ballots, install new rules and regulations that they don’t have the power to do.”

In other words, if leftist activists and Trump-hating elections officials don’t rig this election like they did the last one.

“They don’t use 51 intelligence agents to give phony reports, which had an effect on the election. They don’t do many of the things that they did in the last election,” he added, referring to the former intelligence officials who signed a letter insisting the Hunter Biden laptop story reported by the New York Post days before the 2020 presidential election was “Russian disinformation.” It was not. It was very real. And the Deep State, assisted by a complicit corporate media, silenced a story that many Americans say could have changed the results of the election.

Do Tell

But the Pravda press has been generally loath to ask Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the same question. The Federalist is asking. We sent email requests to both the Harris campaign and the vice president’s office asking if she will accept the results of the election if she loses next month to Trump. As of publication, crickets.

The Federalist also asked the National Security Leaders for America whether their members will accept the results of the election if the former president wins. NSL4A made headlines and garnered lots of airtime last month when its 700-plus former government, military and national security leaders signed an open letter endorsing Harris. Former CIA Director John Brennan is one of the endorsers. He’s also one of the 51 signers of the letter falsely claiming the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation.

Again, no response.

A good question voters should be asking is, why aren’t the accomplice media asking whether Harris, the Democrats, the intelligence community and other swamp creatures will be patriotic enough to accept the results of the election if Trump wins?

They Do Not Accept

They’ve been far too busy publishing all kinds of stories asking all kinds of conservatives whether they’ll accept the results of the election if their guy loses — Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Rep. Barry Moore (R-Ala.), even Republican voters at large via various polls. They’re the same “journalists” who like to gloss over the fact that leading Democrats refused to accept the election results of 2016, when Trump surprised the world and beat bitter shrew Hillary Clinton, Obama’s former secretary of state and the Pravda press’ presidential chosen one.

“I do not see this president-elect as a legitimate president,” the late Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., told NBC News as Trump was taking office amid Democrats’ cries of “Russian interference.”

“I think there was a conspiracy on the part of the Russians and others that helped him get elected. That’s not right. That’s not fair. That’s not the open democratic process,” he added.

Sour Grapes Hillary said the same and has kept on saying since.

“I believe [Trump] understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories — he knows that — there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did,” she complained in a 2019 CBS News interview.

“In fact, the last time Democrats fully accepted the legitimacy of a presidential election they lost was in 1988,” wrote The Federalist’s editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway in Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech and the Democrats Seized Our Elections.

During the vice presidential debate between Vance and Walz, moderator Norah O’Donnell demanded Vance answer whether he would “seek to challenge this year’s election results.” She didn’t press Walz on whether he would accept the results of a Trump-Vance win.

Walz was given a moment to deliver a “can’t we all get along” speech, insisting that questioning the results of elections must end.

“When this is over, we need to shake hands, this election, and the winner needs to be the winner,” the leftist said. “This has got to stop. It’s tearing our country apart.”

Vance rightly reminded Walz about the hypocrisy of the Democrat Party.

“…[W]e have to remember that for years in this country Democrats protested the results of elections. Hillary Clinton in 2016 said that Donald Trump had the election stolen by Vladimir Putin because the Russians bought like $500,000 of Facebook ads,” Vance said. “This has been going on for a long time. And if we want to say we need to respect the results of the election, I’m on board. But if we want to say, as Tim Walz is saying, that this is just a problem that Republicans have had, I don’t buy that.”

Voters shouldn’t buy it, either. That’s why it’s important to know where the Democrat Party presidential nominee stands less than two weeks before Election Day. So, The Federalist is asking.

Vice President Harris, will you accept the results of the election if you lose?

UPDATE:

An official with National Security Leaders for America has provided a comment following the publication of this story. The official, who asked to be identified as an NSL4A “spokesperson” said the following:

“Unlike Mr. Trump, who led a violent insurrection to try to overturn an election he lost, our members–who fought for this nation’s democratic and pluralistic ideals–will respect America’s democratic decision. We hope Mr. Trump, whose own Chief of Staff said Mr.Trump wants to be a dictator, will do the same.”

As has been well documented, Trump’s former chief of staff’s incendiary comments have been debunked by multiple sources, and the assertion that Trump “led a violent insurrection” is widely disputed.

Report: Chinese Hackers Target Trump, Vance Phones

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/world/globaltalk/chinese-hackers-phones/2024/10/25/id/1185474/

Chinese hackers who tapped into Verizon’s system were targeting phones used by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. The newspaper said investigators were working to determine what communications, if any, were taken.

The Trump campaign was made aware this week that Trump and Vance were among a number of people inside and outside of government whose phone numbers were targeted through the infiltration of Verizon phone systems, it added. The campaign did not confirm that Trump’s and Vance’s phones were targeted. Steven Cheung, the campaign’s communications director, said the former president’s Democratic rival Vice President Kamala Harris has emboldened China and Iran to attack U.S. infrastructure to prevent Trump from returning to office.

The Harris campaign could not be immediately reached for comment.

The Trump campaign was hacked earlier this year. The U.S. Justice Department charged three members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps with the hack, accusing them of trying to disrupt the Nov. 5 election.

The FBI and the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said on Friday they were investigating unauthorized access to commercial telecommunications infrastructure by people associated with China. The joint statement by the agencies did not name the targets of the incident.

Verizon said it was aware of a sophisticated attempt to reportedly target U.S. telecoms and gather intelligence.

The largest U.S. telecom company added it was working with law enforcement.

They’ve attacked him. They’ve impeached him. They’ve arrested him. They’ve desperately tried to imprison him. They unconstitutionally denied him access to the ballot. They’ve tried to kill him. Democrats have failed at every turn to get rid of Donald Trump. Now the self-proclaimed defenders of democracy and their corporate media allies are turning to the last vestige of hope for the desperate in an extremely tight presidential race: Lies. And name-calling.

‘Do You Think Donald Trump Is a Fascist?’

Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris opened Wednesday night’s CNN town hall with a long tirade in which she warned ostensibly undecided voters that Trump would be a dictator if given another term in the Oval Office.

“Do you think Donald Trump is a fascist?” host Anderson Cooper asked the vice president in the opening moments of the latest long-form, packaged-as-news political ad for the Harris-Walz campaign.

“Yes, I do. Yes, I do,” Harris answered as if reciting an unholy wedding vow.

Of course she does. The “Trump is Hitler” narrative is Harris’ — and the left’s — closing argument in a Reader’s Digest presidential campaign for the Democrats. It must be noted that Harris’ abridged quest began with the Democrats’ bloodless coup that removed the demented Democrat president of the United States from his run for a second term.

In an act of corporate media collusion so transparent it burns the eyes, the shameless Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief at The Atlantic, published the hit piece earlier this week that Harris and her team are using in one last-ditch effort to paint the former president as “unfit” to be president again. The smear job, citing bitter former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly, claims, among other outlandish charges, that while in office Trump suggested Hitler “did some good things.” The story, mostly employing anonymous sources, was quickly debunked on the record by multiple people who were in the room with Trump.

As my Federalist colleague John Daniel Davidson wrote, the story “would never have passed muster in a newsroom 20 years ago.” And former Federalist Senior Editor David Harsanyi aptly noted on X, “The Hunter Biden laptop story couldn’t be repeated by any major outlet because it hadn’t been independently verified. The Atlantic pieces can be repeated by everyone. Weird how that works.”

Of course, it’s not weird at all. Painting the former president as the devil has long been the playbook.  Lies and empty accusations are just fine, if they’re in pursuit of what the left thinks is right. And what is right to the Democrats is holding on to power by any means necessary.

Just ask the late spawn of Satan, Harry Reid. The nasty, formerly breathing Democrat senator infamously lied about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney not paying his taxes. Reid lied from the Senate floor. When called out on his lie, Reid sneered, “Romney didn’t win, did he?”

‘She May Lose’

That’s the left. It’s what they do. And, yes, sometimes the lies work. But there is political peril for Harris. Voters have heard it all from Democrats, particularly the patently false stuff about Trump and his relationship with the military and service members.

As pollster and political strategist Frank Luntz told CNN’s Kasie Hunt hours before her network’s town hall, Harris runs a real risk of alienating the relatively few undecideds in the race. Luntz said Harris did well in the opening days of her Joe Biden replacement campaign focusing on “why she should be elected.” Remember all those “good vibes” and joy and crap?

“She’s had the best 60 days of any presidential candidate in modern history. And then the moment that she turned anti-Trump and focused on him and said, ‘Don’t vote for me, vote against him,’ that’s when everything froze,” the strategist said.

The polls show as much. Trump in recent weeks has devoured any gap as Harris could no longer hide and had to answer at least some actual questions about her record and her agenda. In Harris parlance, he is unburdened by what has been.

Trump is defined, Luntz said.

“He’s not gaining, he’s not losing. He’s who he is and his vote is where it is,” the pollster said.

“[Harris] is less well defined and if she continues just to define this race as ‘vote against Trump,’ she’s going to stay where she is now, and she may lose.”

But desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess. Democrats haven’t been able to stop Trump to date. So, they’re hoping to deal him a death blow with lies.

The latest battleground state polls have the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris remaining a dead heat as Election Day approaches, with single-digit margins or ties being reported. The seven battlegrounds of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin will likely determine who will become president, political analysts say.

Current polling for each state shows:

Desperate Swing-State Democrats Scramble to Align Themselves with Trump as Harris Sputters

How does a Democrat senator hang on to his seat when voters are leaning Republican? If you’re 17-year incumbent Sen. Bob Casey, D-Penn., you start running advertisements aligning with former President Donald Trump.

Same thing if you’re 11-year incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., who is also running ads framing Trump as her buddy.

The feeling is not mutual, with Trump calling Baldwin a “Radical leftist senator.”

Baldwin must have noticed a change in the wind to suddenly align with Trump because in September she was seen on video calling Trump the “most offensive, and hateful, and unacceptable presidential candidate we’ve ever had.”

“What does that say about the people who support him?” she added.

“Imagine being Kamala Harris and changing the channel from President Trump’s epic performance at the Al Smith dinner only to see … swing state Senate Democrats embracing President Trump’s historic record in their ads,” Republican National Committee Spokesman Gates McGavick told The Federalist. “Thankfully for Kamala, this will all be over for her in just 18 days.”

Trump was asked about this phenomenon on a recent appearance on a Breitbart News Special Report, hosted by Matt Boyle, that aired on SiriusXM Patriot channel 125.

“Well, it’s an honor, actually,” Trump said. “They have senators that voted to impeach me, Democrat, and they’re Democrats, and now they’re bragging about my policies, and they have to use that because their policies were radical left and not good. So, they’re now taking ads saying that I was in favor of tariffs like President Trump. I was in favor of this and that. And nobody’s ever seen anything quite like it, but they weren’t. I mean, they weren’t.”

Riding Trump’s Popularity to Maintain Statehouse Power

Federal Democrat candidates are not the only ones embracing the “Trump is my pal,” strategy.

In a Republican-leaning Pennsylvania district, 16-year incumbent Pennsylvania State Rep. Frank Burns is running as a Trump-loving Democrat. Burns has been running ads — many, many ads — attacking his Republican challenger, Amy Bradley, using images of Trump, and implying that he is more aligned with Trump than Bradley is.

Image CreditFrom Frank Burns Ad

“President Trump supports secure borders and putting America first. Amy Bradley doesn’t,” one television ad says. “It’s time to tell Amy Bradley —” the video cuts to Trump saying, “You’re fired. Get out of here.” In fact, Burns is the incumbent and could be the one fired by voters in this scenario.

It is also a total lie. Trump endorsed Bradley.

“Frank seems to be obsessed with President Trump’s endorsement of me. He is accusing me of tricking the president, which is ridiculous,” Bradley told The Federalist. “Sen. JD Vance also endorsed me last weekend following Frank’s accusations, they are clearly on board with my campaign.”

Local Republicans driving past the “Republicans for Burns” signs dotted strategically throughout Cambria County next to Trump signs, may believe they were paid for by Republicans, but the fine print on the signs shows they were paid for by The Committee to Reelect Frank Burns.

Image CreditWilliam Klika
Image CreditWilliam Klika

Burns represents District 72 in the Pennsylvania House. The district largely covers Cambria County, which went for Trump in 2020. According to Pennsylvania Department of State data, the district currently has 20,272 registered Republicans; 16,902 registered Democrats; and 4,910 registered voters not affiliated with the two major parties.

To win, Burns needs to flip Republican voters, and he often tries to present himself as friendly to conservative causes. Burns is endorsed by Gun Owners of America. The Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation endorsed Burns as the incumbent with a known voting record, and also lists Bradley as a pro-life candidate. Burns sometimes votes against his party.

Yet Democrats are spending big bucks on this small, rural, state race to keep Burns in power.

“Right now, the Democrats hold a one vote majority in our state house, 102-101, so every member of each caucus matters,” Matt Brouillette, CEO and president of the Harrisburg-based Commonwealth Partners Chamber of Entrepreneurs, told The Federalist. “Frank Burns is an outlier in that he is in a very conservative district but empowers the Philadelphia progressive political agenda to march through the halls of our General Assembly.”

A look at Pennsylvania Department of State campaign finance reports going back to 2008 show The Committee to Reelect Frank Burns fund rarely had more than $100,000, and often much less for campaign spending. That is typical spending for a race of this size in Pennsylvania. His most recent required financial filing, May 13, 2024, shows he had $40,000 on hand.

The new financial reports, due Oct. 25, will show a huge infusion of cash into the Burns campaign, because the Committee to Reelect Frank Burns has spent more than $4 million on broadcast advertising.

FCC records show Burns has signed multiple advertising contracts in excess of $100,000 each.

It is quite a contrast from the nearly $22,000 his Republican challenger has spent so far.

The Federalist requested an interview with Burns, but he did not respond, so we could not ask him who is funding these extraordinary buys.

But it helps to understand the delicate balance of power in the statehouse. The party in power leads committee discussions, and the majority leader decides which bills make it to the floor for a vote. For a long time, Pennsylvania has had a Republican-led House and Senate, and a Democrat governor. It meant Republican bills passed and were often vetoed by the governor. Democrats were powerless to get much done.

After 12 years of Republican leadership, in 2022, the Pennsylvania House flipped to a razor thin Democrat majority, 102-101. But immediately after the election, before the House was sworn into office in January 2023, Democrats had three vacant seats, giving Republicans the voting majority, 101 Republicans and 99 Democrats.

One Democrat seat was empty because longtime Democrat Rep. Anthony M. “Tony” DeLuca died after the ballots were printed. Voters chose him posthumously.

Two other seats were immediately vacated by candidates who ran for two offices at the same time and won both seats. They both left their House seats for higher offices. Former state Rep. Austin Davis is now lieutenant governor, and former state Rep. Summer Lee is now in Congress.

Republicans wanted to vote for a party leader while they had the voting majority. Democrats used delaying tactics and by February 2023, Democrats had won special elections to fill the three vacancies, and the power was back to 102 Democrats and 101 Republicans.

But in July, former state Rep. Sara Innamorato, a Democrat, left the district representative seat to run for the position of Allegheny County Executive. The House was tied at 101 for each party until a September 2023 special election where Democrat Lindsay Powell prevailed, moving the power back to Democrats 102 and Republicans 101.

The tug of war has continued since then. Often when Democrats lose a member, they go into recess until it is resolved so Republicans can’t call a special vote and regain power over the chamber.

With the help of Frank Burns voting with his party, the chamber voted to make Democrat Joanna McClinton Speaker of the House, and with that, the longtime Republican House veered its agenda to the left. Democrats desperately want to hold on to power — even if it means promoting Trump’s agenda in campaign ads.

“[Burns] can’t disown the fact that he voted for Joanna. He had to, and that’s typical Frank Burns. When the party needs him, he’s there for Democrats,” State Rep. Josh Kail, who serves on the House Republican Campaign Committee, told The Federalist. “The guy has this phony facade back in district, but he goes to Harrisburg, and he’s a complete enabler of the left-wing agenda. He voted for one of the most liberal speakers of the house to give Democrats control of the House … The most important vote that a legislature takes is when they vote for who the speaker is, and who’s going to control the calendar and what we’re voting on. He is directly responsible for all of the left wing votes that we’re getting out of the state house.”

Why Hispanic Voters Say ‘Adios’ to Democratic Party

Hispanic voters are bolting from the Democrats faster than Kamala Harris can say “Latinx.” This is one of the most significant trends in this year’s presidential campaign. The growing discontent is a result of economic frustration as well as a broader cultural clash over values, as many Hispanics reject the Biden-Harris administration’s radical positions on gender ideology and parental rights.

According to the most recent NBC/Telemundo poll, Harris leads former President Donald Trump with Hispanic voters by 14 percentage points. However, that is the smallest margin for a Democrat in over a decade. Every other presidential Democratic candidate since 2012 had an advantage of at least 36 points and, eventually, went on to win the Hispanic vote by similarly significant margins.

The NBC poll is far from an outlier. The latest Quinnipiac University survey shows that Harris’ lead among Hispanics nationally is down to single digits. In the key battleground states of NevadaNorth Carolina, and Pennsylvania, Harris is only slightly ahead. In the border state of Arizona, Trump is actually winning the Hispanic vote. This increased support of Hispanics for Trump and Republicans is driven by several factors.

According to the Pew Research Center, the economy is the top issue for Hispanic voters. Often with larger families and lower median incomes, Hispanics have been disproportionately hurt by crippling inflation and the massive influx of illegal immigrants into their communities. Under Trump, Hispanic unemployment hit a record low of 4% and, contrary to common assumptions, more than half of Hispanic voters support stricter border security measures.

Yet Hispanics are also disgusted by the Biden-Harris administration’s extreme cultural agenda. Two-thirds identify as Catholic or Protestant. And it turns out they aren’t thrilled about the latest “woke” school offerings: teachers chatting about sex with their kids in class and allowing adult men access to girls’ locker rooms.

An American Principles Project survey of Hispanic voters in Arizona and Nevada revealed strong opposition to these progressive positions. Over two-thirds surveyed said schools should stick to teaching the fundamentals and leave “sex and racial issues” to parents. Hispanics are repulsed by the Left’s obsession with “transgender kids” and “transgender girls of color,” and reports that reveal 5,700 minors underwent sex-change surgeries in the United States in the last four years.

Trump is making inroads with Hispanic voters by slamming “transgender insanity” and running ads denouncing Harris’s support for taxpayer-funded sex-change treatments and surgeries.

The blitz against Harris on cultural issues has been so effective that even Democrat strategists had to concede to The New York Times that it is “taking a toll in some races.” But wait, the Democrats have an ingenious trick up their sleeve!

The Harris campaign announced the launch of a coalition called “Hombres con Harris”—literally, “Men With Harris.”

The campaign apparently hopes this new group will help stem the party’s losses among Hispanic men. Just like “White Dudes for Harris” has been so helpful for her support among Caucasian males. But in truth, it’s the Democrats’ far-left agenda, not a lack of awkwardly named affinity groups, that is repelling Hispanic voters. Hispanics have historically voted Democrat, but they do believe in common sense and that parents know what is best for their children.

If the Republican Party wants to solidify and expand its gains with Hispanic voters, it must continue to champion commonsense policies that prioritize family values, parental rights, and economic opportunity.

Hispanic voters have had enough of being treated like a checkbox for the Democrats. They’re making their voices heard, and this time, it might just sound like “Adios!”

‘Destiny of America’ Is on Line, Musk Says

By: Salena Zito | October 15, 2024

Tesla CEO Elon Musk demonstrates his enthusiasm for former President Donald Trump’s bid to return to the White House at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa., on Oct. 5. (Jim Watson/AFP/Getty Images)

BUTLER, Pa.—Elon Musk said the reason he was in Butler on Oct. 5 to speak at former President Donald Trump‘s rally was because of the critical nature of this year’s presidential election.

“The reason I’m here is because I think this is the most important election in our lifetime. This may be the most important election that has ever happened,” the industrialist said.

The world’s richest man and the leader of Tesla and X (formerly Twitter) was standing in the holding room behind the stage of the event, on a dirt floor, with white curtains behind him, and chicken crates and haystacks to his right. “I think we’re looking at the destiny of civilization, of America, the Western civilization,” he said.

The traditionally media-shy Musk, wearing an “Occupy Mars” shirt underneath a black sport coat and “Make America Great Again” baseball cap, was all smiles as he and Trump bantered back and forth during the interview.

“I think President Trump represents the actual path to a democratic future, ironically, because they say he’s a threat to democracy. But, in fact, the ones saying he’s a threat to democracy are the ones who are a threat to democracy in reality,” Musk said.

Musk famously endorsed Trump in a post on X minutes after a gunman tried to kill the former president here in July. Musk, a robust supporter of free speech even before he purchased X, said, “Who are the ones that are trying to silence free speech? That’s the Democrats. They’re the ones trying to silence free speech. You know who the bad guys are, the ones who want to stop you from speaking, those are the bad guys. It’s a no-brainer.”

Musk said he recognizes that the people here in Butler, and in places all across the country that aren’t located in the centers of power and wealth, are the ones most concerned about protecting and preserving both free speech and the Second Amendment.

“America is about freedom and opportunity,” he said. “You have to have freedom to speak your mind. What is the First Amendment? Why does it exist? Because in the countries people came from, you’d get arrested or killed for speaking your mind. Why is the Second Amendment there? Because you weren’t allowed to own firearms in other countries so they could oppress you. The thing protecting the First Amendment is the Second Amendment.”

Trump leaned over: “Salena, he’s worth $300 billion. Salena, $300 billion. I worked my ass off, and I’m like a fraction of that,” he joked.

Earlier in the day, a woman I interviewed said that, to her, Musk is the Benjamin Franklin of our era: an inventor, a proponent of free speech, and a disrupter. She said she really liked that he both “made things” and explored the newest frontier through space.

“That is part of the American ethos, hard work, innovations, but also helping people out in the way he has done with Starlink in North Carolina,” she said.

“I try to be as helpful as possible,” Musk said with a smile. “Well, if it wasn’t for President Trump, this would be hopeless.”

Musk said his message was to make sure people exercise their voting power.

“I think we really need to encourage people to register to vote,” he said. “That’s my main message today: Everyone in the audience, there’s nothing more important than registering to vote.’

“Anyone. People in the streets. Everyone. Friends, family, people you run into. Text them right now,” he said, encouraging people to “swamp the vote.”

“Check swampthevote.com to see if you’re registered. Everyone here has one mission. Everyone listening, you’ve got one mission. Register everyone you know to vote,” he said.

Youngstown State University political science professor Paul Sracic said it’s hard to overstate how significant Musk’s full-throated endorsement of Trump is this year. “Musk is to the 2020s what Trump was to the 1980s and ’90s. He is a celebrity businessman. Trump famously appeared in one of the ‘Home Alone’ movies, and Musk made a guest appearance on ‘The Big Bang Theory,’” he said of Musk’s cultural impact.

“Also like Trump, he is a risk-taker and builder, something that appeals to the American psyche. People forget, but one of the things that helped Trump when he first ran for president was his ability to get things done. His rebuilding and restoration of the skating rink in Central Park, something the New York City parks department had failed to do, was frequently mentioned,” Sracic said.

“Musk is the classic self-made billionaire,” Sracic explained. “He made his initial fortune by helping to design PayPal, an innovative online payment system that was later purchased by eBay. Rather than sit on his wealth, or just try to grow it by investing in the stock market, Musk used it to build other things. In almost every case, Musk’s innovations paralleled things the government was trying to do, but he did it better,” he said.

Think of it this way: The Inflation Reduction Act tries to use government subsidies to encourage companies to build and consumers to buy electric vehicles, while Musk actually makes vehicles.

For the past 60 years, one of the symbols of American ingenuity and world dominance has been the space program run by NASA, a government agency, Sracic explained. “Over the years, NASA has begun contracting out its rocket program to private companies. One of those companies, Boeing, was supposed to transport our astronauts back and forth to the International Space Station on their Starliner capsule. When that capsule was found to have potential safety issues, trapping two U.S. astronauts on the space station for months, it is Musk’s SpaceX that will rescue them next February,” he said.

Polls clearly show that people are unhappy with the direction of the country. Failures such as this one by NASA, along with our crumbling infrastructure, make voters feel like we as a nation are falling apart.

The Biden-Harris administration has tried to appeal to voters by a combination of intense government spending on projects and industrial policy, which subsidizes private businesses. “And they are upset that the American people don’t properly credit them for their achievements, and sometimes blame the press for not covering the story,” Sracic said.

What the Harris campaign misses, however, is the hunger people have for innovation. “We don’t want to be as good as the Chinese. We want to be better,” Sracic said. “When the Soviet Union launched Sputnik, we didn’t just want to launch a rival satellite. We wanted to go to the moon. That’s the America people want back again.”

Sracic said there are several ways that Musk and Trump are alike. “Trump could have taken his money and had a nice retirement. Instead, he entered politics and went from being an admired celebrity to being ridiculed and attacked. In the same way, Musk didn’t have to buy Twitter. In fact, it was by all accounts a poor financial decision. But Musk, like Trump, wanted, to quote Teddy Roosevelt, to be ‘the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood.’”

Minutes after the interview, Musk took to the stage and was greeted with wild enthusiasm by the crowd, an enthusiasm he responded to by jumping in the air.

While many of the political elite still struggle to understand the connection two billionaires would have with the working and middle class of the country and why both Trump and Musk meet that moment, it is real and has much to do with being seen and respected by both of them.

‘Destiny of America’ Is on Line, Musk Says

Dems Fret Harris Ceding Too Many Male Voters to Trump

By Mark Swanson    |   Friday, 11 October 2024 05:01 PM EDT

Democrats are sounding the alarm that presidential nominee Kamala Harris is trailing Republican Donald Trump among the male vote – across the racial spectrum – by a lot with weeks to go before the election, with one donor asserting that “men are gone,” The Hill reported Friday.

Recent polls show Harris trailing Trump by double digits in some battleground polls, while a New York Times/Siena poll found her trailing by 11 points nationally. In battleground Arizona, Harris trails Trump by 12 points among Hispanic males in the 18-34 age group and by 20 points among Hispanic males 35-49. Another poll showed Harris’ support among Black voters in Pennsylvania is lower than what President Joe Biden received when he won the state in 2020, and that’s being driven by Black men.

“I don’t think people understand what a big problem we have on our hands with men,” one Democrat strategist told The Hill. “Black men, Hispanic men, men in general.”

Given that Trump defeated Hillary Clinton among men by 11 points in 2016, some Democrats are pointing to misogyny, with one telling The Hill that “not everyone is ready to vote for a qualified woman to be president of the United States.”

Republicans say that’s a cheap excuse – male voters remember how Harris ran on a progressive, identity-driven platform in 2020.

“[T]hat approach just doesn’t have much appeal to a broader range of men voters,” Republican strategist Kevin Madden told The Hill. “Thinking you can solve that now by just saying, ‘I own a Glock,’ makes that effort even more difficult.”

To combat Harris’ icy draw with male voters, her campaign is sending running mate and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to talk football and hunting in battleground Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin this weekend, The Hill reported. That comes after former President Barack Obama lectured Black men in Pennsylvania about their hesitation voting for Harris.

“Part of it makes me think that, well, you just aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president, and you’re coming up with other alternatives and other reasons for that,” he said in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

But one Democrat donor said it’s too little, too late for Harris in 2024.

“Men are gone, at least for this cycle.”

Trump to hold rally at New York’s Madison Square Garden ahead of Election Day

Former President Trump will hold a rally this month at New York City’s Madison Square Garden (MSG), Fox News Digital has confirmed. The rally is set to take place on Oct. 27, multiple sources told Fox News Digital, just nine days before Election Day. The event is expected to be first-come, first-serve, and campaign officials are expecting massive attendance.

Like Coachella and others to come, MSG is because we are adding some very big venues because we are seeing very high interest in attending events,” a campaign source told Fox News Digital.

TRUMP VOWS TO ‘SAVE’ DEEP-BLUE NEW YORK CITY IN MASSIVE, HISTORIC BRONX RALLY

MSG is a 19,500-seat venue.

The former president, speaking at a campaign event in Scranton, Pennsylvania later on Wednesday, highlighted that “we just rented Madison Square Garden. We’re going to make a play. We’re going to make a play for New York. Hasn’t been done in a long time. It hasn’t been done in many decades.”

Then President Ronald Reagan in his 1984 re-election landslide, was the last Republican to carry New York in a White House race.

“We’re making a play for New Jersey. We’re making a play for Virginia,” Trump continued, before adding that he’s also aiming to compete in Minnesota and New Mexico.

The latest Fox News Power Rankings in the 2024 presidential election rank New York and New Jersey as solid Democrat, with Minnesota, New Mexico and Virginia as likely Democrat.

This will be Trump’s second big rally in the state of New York.

Trump held a rally at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, last month. More than 60,000 tickets were requested, but the venue only seats 16,000. Thousands of supporters who were not admitted to the venue watched him speak on large screens outside.

Trump also held a rally in the Bronx over the summer at Crotona Park, which had a permit allowance of 3,500 people. The New York Post reported the Bronx rally drew up to 10,000 supporters.

Meanwhile, Trump has drawn massive crowds for his latest rallies, with more than 20,000 people attending his second rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend.

The campaign also said they saw more than 100,000 people at the former president’s rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, in May.

TRUMP HOLDS MASSIVE BEACHFRONT CAMPAIGN RALLY FOR RAUCOUS NEW JERSEY CROWD: ‘WE’RE GOING TO WIN’

Earlier this year during a campaign stop at an Upper Manhattan bodega, Trump said he would “straighten out New York.”

“We’re going to come in — number one, you have to stop crime, and we’re going to let the police do their job. They have to be given back their authority. They have to be able to do their job,” Trump said. “And we’re going to come into New York. We’re making a big play for New York, other cities, too. But this city, I love this city.” Trump said New York has “gotten so bad in the last three years, four years.”

“And we’re going to straighten New York out. So running for president, we’re putting a big hit in New York — we could win New York,” Trump said.

The New York Post first reported that Trump would rally at MSG.

While it is unlikely deep blue New York flips red in the White House race, another rally in the state may help Republicans down the ballot, as they try to hold on to their House of Representatives majority in November’s elections.

Fox News’ Bill Melugin on Kamala Harris’ upcoming Arizona border trip as polls show more voters trust Trump on border policy. Former President Donald Trump holds a razor-thin two-point edge over Vice President Kamala Harris in battleground Arizona, according to a new public opinion poll. Fueling the former president’s margin appears to be support from voters age 50 and over.

Trump stands at 49% among likely voters in Arizona, with Harris at 47%, according to an AARP poll conducted Sept. 24-Oct. 1 and released on Tuesday. According to the survey, Green Party candidate Jill Stein grabs 1% support, with 3% undecided.

The survey points to a generational divide.

“Among voters 50+, Trump is ahead by 7 points, driven by a 14-point lead among voters 50-64,” the poll’s release highlights.

Harris holds a 4-point advantage among voters under 50, according to the survey, “while the race is a tossup with seniors.”

The poll also points to a gender gap in Arizona which favors Trump. The former president and Republican nominee is up 11-points over the vice president and Democratic nominee among men, but down only 6 points among female voters, the survey indicates.

The survey is the latest to indicate a margin of error race between Harris and Trump in Arizona, a state President Biden narrowly carried over Trump in the 2020 election.

Arizona’s one of seven crucial battlegrounds whose razor-thin margins decided Biden’s White House victory four years ago and are likely to determine if Harris or Trump win the 2024 election.

Besides being a crucial presidential swing state, Arizona is also holding one of a handful of competitive Senate elections that will decide if the GOP wins back the chamber’s majority. The AARP poll indicates Democratic Senate nominee Rep. Rueben Gallego holding a 51%-44% lead over Republican nominee Kari Lake, a former news anchor who narrowly lost the state’s 2022 gubernatorial election.

The AARP poll was conducted by the bipartisan polling team of Fabrizio Ward (Republican) & Impact Research (Democrat). The firms interviewed 1,358 likely voters in Arizona. The survey’s overall sampling error is plus or minus four percentage points.

Letitia James May be Winning the Lawfare but Losing the War

By: Jonathan Turley | September 30, 2024

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2024/09/30/letitia-james-may-be-winning-lawfare-but-losing-the-war/

Below is my column in the Hill on the rough week for New York Attorney General Letitia James in court. James has campaigned on lawfare, and the Democratic New York voters have wildly supported her weaponization of the legal system against Trump and others. Now some judges are balking…

Here is the column:

In an age of lawfare, New York Attorney General Letitia James has always embraced the total war option. Her very appeal has been her willingness to use any means against political opponents. James first ran for her office by pledging to bag Donald Trump on something, anything. She did not specify the violation, only that she would deliver the ultimate trophy kill for Democratic voters. James follows the view of what Prussian General Carl von Clausewitz said about warlaw is merely politics “by other means.”

Yet, the political success of James in weaponizing her office has been in stark contrast with her legal setbacks in courts. James earlier sought to use her office to disband the National Rifle Association, the most powerful gun rights organization in the country, due to self-dealing and corruption of executives. James notably did not target liberal groups accused of similar violations. The ridiculous effort to disband the NRA collapsed in court.

It did not matter. James knew that such efforts were performative and that New York voters did not care if such attacks failed. She will continue to win the lawfare battles, even if she loses the war.

This week, two of James’s best-known campaigns were struggling in court.

James is best known for her fraud case against Trump, in which she secured a $464 million fine and a ban on Trump from the New York real estate business for three years. That penalty, which has now risen to $489 million with interest, was in a case where no one had lost a dime due to the alleged inaccurate property valuations in bank loans secured by the Trump organization. Not only where the banks fully paid on the loans and made considerable profits, but they wanted to make additional loans to the Trump organization.

In appellate arguments this week, James’s office faced openly skeptical justices who raised the very arguments that some of us have made for years about the ludicrous fine imposed by Judge Arthur Engoron. Justice David Friedman noted that this law “is supposed to protect the market and the consumers — I don’t see it here.”

His colleague Justice Peter Moulton told her office “The immense penalty in this case is troubling” and added, “How do you tether the amount that was assessed by [Engoron] to the harm that was caused here where the parties left these transactions happy?”

The answer, of course, is the case was never about markets. It was about politics. The fact that the banks were “happy” is immaterial. Happiness in New York is a political, not legal calculus. The justices did not rule this week, but an opinion could be issued within a month.

In the same week, James faced a stinging defeat in another popular cause. James had targeted pro-life organizations for spreading supposed “disinformation” in not just opposing the use of mifepristone (the abortion pill used in the majority of abortions in the United States), but in advocating the use of reversal procedures if mothers change their minds before taking the second drug in the treatment regimen.

Critics charge that, while there are some studies showing successful reversal cases, the treatment remains unproven and unapproved. It remains an intense debate. James, however, wanted to end the debate. She targeted pregnancy centers and was then sued by two pro-life ministries, Summit Life Outreach Center and the Evergreen Association.

Judge John Sinatra Jr. blocked James‘s crackdown as a denial of free speech. Notably, these centers were not profiting by sharing this information or advocating such reversal treatment. James merely declared that people advocating such reversal treatments are engaged in “spreading dangerous misinformation by advertising…without any medical and scientific proof.”

It is a familiar rationale on the left and discussed in my latest book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.” It is the same rationale that led to the banning and blacklisting of experts during the pandemic for views that have now been vindicated on the efficacy of masks and other issues. They were silenced by those who declared their viewpoints as dangerously unproven or unapproved, but who were themselves wrong.

James claimed a right to crack down on views that she deemed unproven, even by those who were seeking only to disseminate information rather than sell products. It did not seem to matter to her that, in the 2018 in NIFLA v. Becerra, the Supreme Court rejected the effort by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (now the secretary of Health and Human Services) to require crisis pregnancy centers to refer abortions.  The court refused to create an exception for requiring speech from licensed professionals.

After the effort failed to force doctors to disseminate pro-abortion information in California, James sought to prevent others from disseminating pro-life information in New York. The court ruled that, under the First Amendment, government officials cannot simply declare certain views as “disinformation” as a pretext to censor disfavored speech.

If there are harmful or fraudulent products or practices, the government has ample powers to target businesses and professionals involved with them. James, however, was seeking to silence those who advocate for a treatment that is unproven but not unlawful.

James’s legacy now includes an effort to disband a civil rights organization, deny free speech and secure confiscatory fines against her political opponents. Yet she is lionized by the media and politicians in an election that is billed as “saving democracy.”

In the end, James knows her audience, and it is not appellate judges. It does not matter to her if she is found to be violating the Constitution or abusing opponents. She has converted the New York legal system into a series of thrill-kills.

For some judges, however, the thrill may be gone.

New York Appeals Court appears receptive to reversing or reducing $454M Trump civil fraud judgment

By Brooke Singman Fox News | Published September 26, 2024, 4:13pm EDT

Judges on a New York appeals court were open-minded and receptive to the possibility of reversing or reducing the $454 million civil fraud judgment in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ lawsuit against former President Trump.  Trump appealed the civil fraud ruling that demanded he pay more than $450 million. The former president’s attorneys called New York Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling “draconian, unlawful, and unconstitutional.”

TRUMP’S $454M JUDGMENT BOND SLASHED BY MORE THAN HALF IN APPEALS COURT RULING

Engoron ruled that Trump and other defendants were liable for persistent and repeated fraud, falsifying business records, issuing false financial statements, conspiracy to falsify false financial statements, insurance fraud and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud. A five-judge panel on a New York appeals court in Manhattan Thursday heard oral arguments on the appeal. The former president did not attend oral arguments Thursday but was instead represented by his legal team.

Trump attorney D. John Sauer argued that James’ lawsuit stretched New York consumer protection laws and said there were “no victims” and “no complaints” of Trump’s business from lenders and insurers.

Sauer said the cause “involves a clear-cut violation of the statute of limitations,” pointing to transactions used in the non-jury civil fraud trial that dated back more than a decade.

TRUMP VOWS TO FIGHT NEW YORK AG CASE ‘ALL THE WAY UP TO THE US SUPREME COURT,’ AS DEADLINE TO POST $454M LOOMS

Sauer said that if the verdict is not overturned, “people can’t do business in real estate” without fear.

The Appellate Division typically rules about a month after arguments are complete, meaning a final decision could come before Election Day on Nov. 5.

Judge Peter H. Moulton questioned if James’ lawsuit turned into “something it was not meant to do.”  Moulton said the “immense penalty in this case is troubling.” But the state argued that there is evidence to support the verdict.

TRUMP BARRED FROM OPERATING BUSINESS, ORDERED TO PAY OVER $350 MILLION IN NY CIVIL FRAUD CASE

In September 2023, before the non-jury trial began, Engoron ruled that Trump and the Trump Organization had committed fraud while building his real estate empire by deceiving banks, insurers and others by overvaluing his assets and exaggerating his net worth on paperwork used in making deals and securing financing. Trump was hit with an initial penalty of $355 million. That sum is quickly increasing via interest accruals of approximately $112,000 a day until paid in full, now sitting around $470 million.

Trump, the 2024 presumptive GOP presidential nominee, and his legal team had appealed and requested a stay on his $454 million civil fraud judgment. Trump’s legal team said the initial requested bond was “unprecedented for a private company,” and said to post it in the judgment’s full amount was a “practical impossibility.”

An appeals court slashed former President Trump’s bond payment in March, and the former president paid $175 million. Trump has vowed to fight the case “all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court if necessary.”

Trump and his family denied any wrongdoing, with the former president saying his assets had been undervalued. Trump’s legal team insisted that his financial statements had disclaimers and made it clear to banks that they should conduct their own assessments.

Throughout the trial, Trump attorneys brought witnesses, including former Deutsche Bank top executives, who testified the banks sought additional business from Trump, whom they viewed as a “whale of a client.” Trump’s defense also brought in expert witnesses, including New York University accounting professor Eli Bartov, who reviewed the Trump financial statements at issue in the case and said he found no evidence of accounting fraud. Bartov testified last month that Trump’s financial statements did not violate accounting principles, and he suggested that anything problematic – like a huge year-to-year leap in the estimated value of his Trump Tower penthouse – was simply an error.

“My main finding is that there is no evidence whatsoever of any accounting fraud,” Bartov testified. Trump’s financial statements, he said, “were not materially misstated.”

Biden Cabinet Member: ‘Extinguish’ Trump ‘for Good’

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign released a statement on Wednesday condemning Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo for saying that Trump, who has survived two assassination attempts, should be “extinguished for good.”

Raimondo, appearing on MSNBC on Wednesday, said of Trump: “Let’s extinguish him for good. We have an answer, we have a remarkably talented candidate who is sincere, who’s pragmatic, who’s open, let’s just get it done.”

Asked what she meant by “extinguished,” Raimondo said, “Vote him out. Banish him from American politics.”

The Trump campaign noted this comment in a press release, adding, “Ten days ago, a deranged Harris supporter tried to assassinate President Trump. Yet, Democrat lunatics continue to spew this dangerous rhetoric.”

The statement refers to the recent arrest of Wesley Ryan Routh, a former Trump supporter, for allegedly aiming a rifle at Trump at a golf course in Florida, an incident that the Justice Department described as an “attempted assassination,” the second against Trump this year.

Trump previously blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for the most recent incident, saying Routh “believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it,” and said their “rhetoric is causing me to be shot at.”

Trump Warns Illegal Voters They’ll Face Jail Time

By Nicole Wells    |   Friday, 20 September 2024 02:01 PM EDT

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/donald-trump-voter-fraud-jail/2024/09/20/id/1181111/

Former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform Friday to warn people who are voting illegally in this year’s election that there will be consequences.

“IF YOU VOTE ILLEGALLY, YOU’RE GOING TO JAIL,” Trump wrote in the succinct social media post.

It’s a subject the former president has been seemingly fixated on in recent days, writing on Truth Social earlier this week that vote cheats “will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law” after he returns to the White House.

“CEASE & DESIST: I, together with many Attorneys and Legal Scholars, am watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely because I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that has taken place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election,” Trump posted Tuesday.

“It was a Disgrace to our Nation!” he continued. “Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again.”

The former president added: “We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation, AND WE WON’T! Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country.”

During a speech at the Economic Club of New York in Manhattan this month, Trump also said he would bar illegal immigrants from being able to secure mortgages, saying the U.S. “cannot ignore the impact that the flood of 21 million illegal aliens has had on driving up housing costs.”

“That’s why my plan will ban mortgages for illegal aliens,” Trump said. “In California, they’re passing a law where they’re going to give illegal aliens money to buy a house.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., told Newsmax in June that making illegal immigrants voters is “true, not a conspiracy theory.”

“There’s a separate form that they get because of the motor voter registration laws passed in the early ’90s, it’s very easy to sign up to vote: All you have to do is fill out a one-and-a-half-page form and check a box that says, ‘I’m a U.S. citizen,'” Johnson said. “Here’s the great outrage under current federal law: States are prohibited from requiring proof of citizenship.

“This is a serious threat to us.”

Hillary Clinton Condemns Media for Their Coverage of Trump

By: Aaron Hedlund | September 17, 2024

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Monday condemned the media for not sufficiently covering the peril she believes former President Donald Trump poses to the planet while calling on Americans to be “outraged by what he represents.”

Clinton’s remarks follow federal and local officials confirming Sunday the arrest of 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh for allegedly attempting to assassinate the former president the same day, with Trump blaming Democrats’ “rhetoric” for the attempt during a Monday interview. The former Democratic presidential nominee, on “The Rachel Maddow Show,” did not tamp down her rhetoric against Trump, repeatedly characterizing the former president as “dangerous” in the span of a few minutes.

“Sadly, the press is still not able to cover Trump the way that they should. They careen from one outrage to the next. What was outrageous three days ago is no longer on the front pages, even though it threatens the physical safety of so many people, particularly, as you point out, immigrants that he and [Sen. JD] Vance have decided to demonize,” Clinton said. “And I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for the press to have a consistent narrative about how dangerous Trump is. The late great journalist Harry Evans one time said that journalists should really try to achieve objectivity, and by that, he said, I mean they should cover the object. Well, the object in this case is Donald Trump. His demagoguery, his danger to our country and the world. And stick with it.”

“I believe Donald Trump has disqualified himself over and over and over again to be a presidential candidate, let alone a president … Part of what Trump is counting on is for people to get desensitized … Well, Americans need to understand that they have to take Trump both seriously and literally,” she added. “He has said what he wants to do. He and his allies with Project 2025, his desire to be a dictator at least on Day One. All of that is in the public record. And I believe that more Americans have to be willing to endure what, frankly, is discomforting and to some extent kind of painful, to take him at his word and to be outraged by what he represents.”

Trump asserted on Truth Social in July that he has no knowledge of Project 2025 and no involvement in it. The former president also condemned some of the document’s contents.

One of Routh’s social media posts mirrored Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden’s repeated claim that “democracy is on the ballot,” according to reports. CNN’s Dana Bash on Monday claimed that Routh’s anti-Trump social media posts have “nothing to do with Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.”

“The hopeful side of this is that I do think more and more Americans are rejecting the kind of chaos that he represents. We can’t go back. That’s what the Harris campaign says all the time,” Clinton said. “We’re not going back to … what he failed to do to protect American lives during COVID, we’re not going back to the romance with dictators that puts innocent lives at risk and America’s security in danger. We can’t go back and give this very dangerous man another chance to do harm to our country and the world.”

Clinton said in April that she believes Trump is “modeling himself” after dictators like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin does what [Trump] would like to do,” she said. “Kill his opposition, imprison his opposition, drive journalists into exile, rule without any check or balance. That’s what Trump really wants.”

Lawmakers Scramble to Make Sense of Second Trump Assassination Attempt

Just over two months ago, former President Donald Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. On Sunday, law enforcement thwarted yet another attempt on Trump’s life. Now, lawmakers on Capitol Hill are scrambling for answers on what transpired at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club and how to protect the former president and current Republican nominee.

The Secret Service engaged a gunman in an incident law enforcement is calling an assassination attempt while Trump was golfing Sunday afternoon.

The suspected gunman, identified by investigators as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, fled the scene in a Nissan SUV before law enforcement tracked him down, pulled him over, and took him into custody just north of West Palm Beach. Routh allegedly left an AK-47-style rifle at the scene. He has been charged so far with two firearm counts: possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Routh’s political activity and background, however, are raising eyebrows on Capitol Hill.

He started a group called the International Volunteer Center that sought to coax Americans and foreign troops into fighting on behalf of Ukraine against Russia in the current war, Semafor reported.

“We need to burn the Kremlin to the ground,” one X post from Routh’s suspected social media account read, according to CNN. Another read: “I am willing to go and fight and DIE to beat Putin,” The Telegraph reported.

In a phone interview with CNN, Oleksandr Shaguri, a representative of Ukraine’s foreign legion, said that Routh “was offering us large numbers of recruits from different countries but it was obvious to us his offers were not realistic.”

“We didn’t even answer, there was nothing to answer to. He was never part of the legion and didn’t cooperate with us in any way,” Shaguri told CNN, adding that Routh’s ideas were “delusional.”

The would-be assassin also self-published a nearly 300-page book titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War: The Fatal Flaw of Democracy, World Abandonment and the Global Citizen-Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea and the End of Humanity,” CNN reported, a work that makes the case for more U.S. involvement in conflicts overseas.

Routh also regularly published anti-Trump comments on what is believed to be his X account.

“I will be glad when you gone,” one post reads, CNN reported. Another proclaimed “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose”—a line often uttered by Vice President Kamala Harris and her presidential campaign.

“The American people want ANSWERS!” Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., told The Daily Signal in an exclusive email. “For President Trump’s life to be threatened not once but TWICE is absolutely unacceptable!”

The House task force empowered to investigate the first Trump assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler announced it would be briefed on the second assassination attempt in West Palm Beach.

“The task force is monitoring this attempted assassination of former President Trump in West Palm Beach this afternoon,” reads a statement from Chairman Mike Kelly, R-Pa., and Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., the ranking member. “We have requested a briefing with the U.S. Secret Service about what happened and how security responded. We are thankful that the former president was not harmed but remain deeply concerned about political violence and condemn it in all of its forms. The task force will share updates as we learn more.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, announced that the state will carry out its own investigation into the second attempt on Trump’s life.

“The state of Florida will be conducting its own investigation regarding the attempted assassination at Trump International Golf Club,” DeSantis said in an X post.

Senate Minority Whip John Thune, R-S.D., wished the former president well Sunday afternoon.

“I’m glad President Trump was unharmed, and I’m grateful that law enforcement was able to identify this individual and intervene,” Thune wrote on X. “I’m continuing to pray for the former president’s safety and security.”

Trump thanked law enforcement and the Secret Service for protecting him in a Truth Social post Sunday night. But on Monday morning, Trump posted that the rhetoric of President Joe Biden, Harris, and other Democrats led to the attempts on his life.

“Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse!” Trump’s Truth Social post reads in part.

“The media’s ‘coverage’ of these two incidents is laughable,” Norman also told The Daily Signal. “It seems like everyone has already forgotten what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania.”

Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, seemed to concur with Norman’s assessment of the media’s reaction to Sunday’s assassination attempt.

“Let’s be clear what is happening: For the second time in three months, someone has tried to kill President Trump, and leftist media is blaming him for it,” Lee told The Daily Signal. “This dangerous argument ‘ad Hitlerum’ Democrats have indulged in for almost a decade is ripping our country apart, and they need to stop immediately.”

Nevertheless, Norman, referring to House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said he remains “cautiously optimistic that the speaker’s task force will get to the bottom of this horrible political violence.

“I am very glad that my colleague and friend Rep. [Clay] Higgins is on the task force because I trust him to ask the right questions and ensure accountability and transparency for ALL that were involved with both attempts on President Trump’s life,” Norman added in the email.

Although the Secret Service succeeded in thwarting the attempt on Trump’s life Sunday, Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said he has some pressing questions.

“A former president who was struck by an assassin’s bullet two months ago, and who Iran and others continue to plot against, deserves heightened security,” Johnson told The Daily Signal. “What doesn’t the Secret Service understand about that?”

This is a developing story and may be updated.

Harris: Trump’s Debate Dodging Due to ‘Toxic Positions’

By Nicole Wells    |   Friday, 13 September 2024, 03:25 PM EDT

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/kamala-harris-donald-trump-debate/2024/09/13/id/1180266/

Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign suggested on Friday that the “toxic positions” former President Donald Trump shared at the debate in Philadelphia earlier this week are the reason he doesn’t want to debate again. Harris called for another debate after her performance on Tuesday night exceeded expectations, but Trump shot down the idea on Thursday, saying there’s no reason to debate the vice president again.

“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, “I WANT A REMATCH,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “Polls clearly show that I won the Debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a Second Debate.”

“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” he said, after participating in the debate against President Joe Biden in June and the one against Harris on Tuesday.

In a Friday memo obtained by The Hill, Ian Sams, Harris campaign senior spokesperson and senior adviser for rapid response, outlined “5 toxic positions Trump took” and claimed those positions will come back to haunt him in November.

Sams also claimed Harris appeared “presidential” and was “in total command” during the debate.

“While much of the focus the past few days has rightly been on Vice President Harris’ total and complete shutdown of Trump, it shouldn’t be lost in the shuffle that Trump took at least five toxic positions on the debate stage,” Sams wrote.

Trump’s five “toxic positions,” according to the Harris campaign official, include:

  • Refusing to say if he would veto a national abortion ban
  • Denying the outcome of the 2020 election
  • Saying “we” when referring to the protesters who breached the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021
  • Saying he had “concepts of a plan” to repeal ObamaCare
  • Not saying if he wanted Ukraine to win its fight against Russia

On Thursday, Harris reportedly ridiculed Trump at a North Carolina campaign rally for saying he had “concepts of a plan.”

In the memo, Sams said “Trump should have to answer for” his “toxic positions.”

“Trump doesn’t want to have to account for them on another debate stage, but he should have to say what the ‘concepts’ are that he is considering repealing [ObamaCare],” he wrote.

Disgusting! Warmonger VP Dick Cheney Endorses Kamala Harris, Says Trump Greatest Ever Threat to Republic

By Ken Kew – The Gateway Pundit – 09/7/24

The former vice president and architect of America’s foreign wars, Dick Cheney, has endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
In a statement on Friday, the 83-year-old argued Trump was the greatest ever threat to the American republic.
“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” Cheney said.
“He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him,” he continued. “He can never be trusted with power again.”

Trump Campaign Fact-Checks Kamala Harris Point by Point After Biased Moderators Fail to Call Out Her Lies During Debate — Here are the Details

By Jim Hoft – The Gateway Pundit – Sept 11, 2024

The Trump campaign is taking matters into its own hands after a blatantly biased performance by the debate moderators, who failed to hold Kamala Harris accountable for her numerous lies.
Last night’s debate featured Kamala Harris dodging responsibility for her failed policies while a complicit moderator allowed her to escape scrutiny in yet another display of blatant media bias.
Despite the stacked odds, President Donald Trump emerged victorious, offering clear solutions while exposing Kamala Harris’s disastrous record and long list of lies.
The debate was a glaring example of how far the radical left is willing to go to distort the truth. Kamala Harris, with the full support of a biased moderator, attempted to rewrite history while pushing dangerous, far-left policies. But the facts speak for themselves.

Polling guru Nate Silver predicts Trump has 64% chance of winning the Electoral College in latest forecast

By Hanna Panreck Fox News | Published September 9, 2024 1:14pm EDT

Polling guru Nate Silver and his election prediction model gave Donald Trump a 63.8% chance of winning the Electoral College in an update to his latest election forecast on Sunday, after a NYT-Siena College poll found the former president leading Vice President Kamala Harris by 1 percentage point.

Harris has come out ahead in several national polls and swing state polls since taking over the top of the ticket. However, the results of the new NYT/Siena College poll, according to Silver, show that the results of the poll confirmed his election model’s view that there was a “shift in momentum” in the race.

The NYT/Siena college poll also found more voters said Harris is “too liberal or progressive” on key policy issues than voters who said they considered Trump to be “too conservative.”

According to his model, Harris has just a 36% chance of winning the Electoral College, and overall, leads Trump by 2.5 points in Silver’s national polling average.

NATE SILVER REVEALS THE ONE BATTLEGROUND STATE THAT COULD SPELL TROUBLE FOR KAMALA HARRIS

“A new New York Times/Siena College poll this morning contained excellent news for Donald Trump, showing him 1 point ahead in a head-to-head matchup against Kamala Harris and 2 points up with minor candidates included. This is one of our highest-rated pollsters, so it has a fair amount of influence on the numbers, reducing Harris’s lead in our national polling average to 2.5 points, which would put her in dangerous territory in the Electoral College,” Silver wrote in the update at 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Silver initially wrote on Wednesday that Trump’s chances of winning the Electoral College have increased from 52.4% to 58.2% since the end of August. Harris’ odds had decreased from 47.3% to 41.6% in that same time frame.

Silver also noted that if Harris performed well in the debate, the NYT poll might not matter.

“The good news for Harris is that there’s a debate on Tuesday, and if she turns in a strong performance, nobody is going to care so much about the Times poll. We’ll have a longer narrative update on the state of the race coming later today,” he wrote.

Silver also said on Wednesday that Michigan and Pennsylvania, both key swing states, might prove to be a problem for her.

“In PA, our polling averages had Harris +1.8 pre-DNC, but it’s now Harris +1.0. That’s before any convention bounce adjustment, which is implemented at a later stage of the model. In MI, the polling average has fallen from Harris +3.1 pre-DNC to Harris +1.9 now,” he wrote on X.

Silver pointed to multiple key portions of the NYT poll in an additional post on Sunday, specifically the fact that 47% of voters see Harris as too liberal.

“I’m not quite sure how Harris is supposed to spin her way out of this perception,” Silver wrote, noting that a high percentage of voters said they don’t know what Harris stands for in the poll, suggesting there was room to improve on those numbers.

“But Harris also blew one big opportunity to tack to the center with her selection of Tim Walz rather than Josh Shapiro: that a tiny minority of progressives objected to Shapiro was an argument in Shapiro’s favor, if anything. I think Walz was a decent enough pick on his own merits, but given an opportunity to offer a tangible signal of the direction her presidency was headed, she reverted to 2019 mode,” Silver wrote.

Jake Tapper and Jeffrey Goldberg, Good Buddies Who Hate Trump

By: Tim Graham | September 06, 2024

News consumers are often unaware of just how friendly the power players in Washington are, and those relationships are often undisclosed. You can tell that Trump haters have a common cause, but it can go much deeper than that. On CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper” on Sept. 3, the host brought on Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg to promote his new book (of old essays) titled “On Heroism: McCain, Milley, Mattis, and the Cowardice of Donald Trump.” These two men are obviously allies. But they’re also good friends.

This made me recall the newest season of the Netflix food show “Somebody Feed Phil,” starring Phil Rosenthal, the creator of the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond.” In an episode touting food spots in Washington, D.C., he had dinner with Goldberg and Tapper at the Indian restaurant Rasika.

The first clue of the friendship is Tapper walking in and tickling the back of Goldberg’s head. Tapper announced, “His kids babysat for my kids.” This doesn’t appear in an on-screen graphic when Goldberg appears on Tapper’s show. Later, he mocked Goldberg when he started talking about his visit to a nuclear bunker. That’s a Washington flex, Tapper said, like saying, “Once I was talking to Fidel Castro over mojitos … ”

Tapper clearly thrilled Goldberg when Rosenthal asked if they were optimistic or pessimistic about the future. Tapper declared: “I’ve just never been in a time where, like, things that I’ve took (sic) for granted—like democracy, and respecting the right of people to vote and all that—were so just, like, nakedly being torn down by major leaders.”

He clearly wouldn’t include Democrats trying to tear Trump’s name off the ballot and forcing Joe Biden out of the race and then trying to keep third-party leftists Jill Stein and Cornel West off the ballot while, at the same time, trying to keep Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on the ballot after he left the race and endorsed Trump.

In Tapper’s latest Goldberg interview, they discussed John McCain’s son Jim endorsing Kamala Harris. Goldberg implied that’s how McCain would have voted this year. Then they decried Trump visiting Arlington Cemetery with grieving Gold Star families and filming the visit. Neither man acknowledged uncomfortable truths, such as McCain filming a campaign advertisement at Arlington, not to mention the professional photographs Biden had taken there.

All this gave Goldberg the license to repeat his magazine’s most hostile Trump stories: “He obviously, very famously got out of Vietnam. He equally famously has referred to people who get killed on behalf of the country as suckers and losers.” Goldberg mused to Rosenthal that social media is a “vast unregulated experiment,” but no one regulates Goldberg for repeating claims for which he has no evidence—nothing recorded, just claimed. Many people around Trump said it never happened.

Tapper then asked why Trump-hating generals like [Mark] Milley and [James] Mattis won’t openly come out for Harris. “The military is apolitical,” claimed Goldberg without giggling. Because soon he admitted that generals “let it be known, through journalists and through other means, what happened inside the White House in Donald Trump’s first term.”

“The military is apolitical,” except when it leaks to anti-Trump news outlets about how horrible Trump is. Which makes it political, especially the staying-anonymous part. It’s about as apolitical as Goldberg and Tapper.

When the interview was over, Tapper announced Goldberg’s Trump-the-coward book title again and said, “Congratulations. I read them when you first wrote them. And I’ll read them again. This nice little book, good!”

All we were missing was Tapper tickling Goldberg’s head.

Trump discusses inevitability of death; says he wants religious revival in US

Former President Donald Trump discussed his own mortality and the importance of religion in coming to terms with death and maintaining “guardrails” in society, during a recent interview with podcaster Lex Fridman. | Screenshot/YouTube/Lex Fridman

Former President Donald Trump spoke about his own mortality and the need for a religious revival in the U.S. during a recent interview with Russian-American podcaster Lex Fridman.

During the hour-long interview posted on Tuesday that touched on topics ranging from the 2024 presidential election to the Kennedy assassination and UFOs, the conversation honed in at the end on mortality and the role religion plays in coming to terms with it and the potential of an afterlife.

“One of the tragic things about life is that it ends,” Fridman said. “How often do you think about your death? Are you afraid of it?”

Trump, who narrowly escaped an assassin’s bullet on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, recounted that he has a “very successful” friend in his mid-80s who thinks about death constantly and often reminds him that time is slipping away.

“He said, ‘I think about it every minute of every day,'” Trump noted of what his friend said of death. “Then, a week later, he called me to tell me something, and he starts off the conversation by going, ‘Tick-tock, tick-tock.’ This is a dark person, in a sense, but it is what it is.”

Trump went on to note the place of religion in finding peace with the inevitability of death and expressed his desire that America would become more religious like it once was.

“If you’re religious, I think you have a better feeling about it. You’re supposed to go to Heaven ideally, not Hell, but you’re supposed to go to Heaven if you’re good,” he said.

“Our country is missing a lot of religion,” he continued. “I think it really was a much better place with religion. It was almost a guide. You want to be good to people. Without religion, there’s no real guardrails. I’d love to see us get back to religion, more religion in this country.”

Trump, who claims to be a Christian, has presented himself as a candidate friendly to Christians and has been outspoken in recent months about the importance of maintaining religious liberty in the U.S.

During the National Religious Broadcasters 2024 International Christian Media Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, in February, Trump accused the Biden administration of weaponizing the justice system against people of faith.

“The chains are already tightening around all of us, if you think about it,” he said. “Ultimately, the radical Left is coming after all of us, because they know that our allegiance is not to them. Our allegiance is to our country, and our allegiance is to our Creator. They don’t want to hear that.”

At the Turning Point Action’s Believers Summit in West Palm Beach, Florida, in July, Trump urged Christians to vote for him.

“I don’t care how, but you have to get out and vote,” he said. “Christians, get out and vote just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years. You know what? It’ll be fixed.”

Trump: Musk Will Root Out Govt Fraud With Task Force

By Sandy Fitzgerald    |   Thursday, 05 September 2024 03:01 PM EDT

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/donald-trump-elon-musk-efficiency-commission/2024/09/05/id/1179230/

Republican nominee Donald Trump promised Thursday that if he’s elected, he’ll create a government efficiency commission to root out fraud in the federal government — and confirmed that tech billionaire Elon Musk, who suggested the idea, will lead it.

“Elon, because he’s not very busy, has agreed to head that task force,” Trump said during an extensive policy address to members of the Economic Club of New York. “If he has the time, he’ll be a good one to do it, but he’s agreed to do it.”

Musk, Trump added, has “given me his complete and total endorsement.”

“Smart guy,” he said. “He knows what he’s doing.”

The commission will be tasked with “conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government and making recommendations for drastic reforms,” a project that is much needed, Trump said.

“We can’t go on the way we are now,” he continued. “In 2022, fraud and improper payments alone cost taxpayers an estimated hundreds of billions of dollars.”

The commission will act quickly to “develop an action plan to totally eliminate fraud and improper payments within six months,” which will “save trillions of dollars, trillions,” Trump added.

“It’s massive for the same service that you have right now,” he said. “Trillions of dollars are wasted and gone and nobody knows where it went.”

Musk made the initial suggestion that Trump form a commission on government spending during their recent conversation on X, his social media company, and said he’d be “happy to help out” on the effort.

Thursday, he posted on X that he looks forward to serving the country and that “no pay, no title, no recognition is needed.”

However, The Wall Street Journal pointed out Thursday that many of Musk’s companies, including Tesla and SpaceX are regulated by federal agencies, which could create conflicts of interest if he’s involved in a commission to cut back on government spending. NASA relies on SpaceX to take astronauts to the space station, while the Pentagon uses the company to launch satellites.

Tesla’s sales, meanwhile, are subsidized by federal tax credits and grants.

Other federal agencies regulate Musk’s companies including X, regulated by the Federal Trade Commission, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulates Neuralink, a brain implant startup.

Democrat-Controlled States Refuse to Clean Voter Rolls and Fix Election Problems

President Joe Biden has vowed to veto the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, which simply requires proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections. His promise was made in reaction to congressional Republicans who want to include it with any continuing resolution required to fund the next fiscal year, which begins on Oct. 1. The president’s adamant opposition to what most Americans support demonstrates just how much Democrats are dedicated to making it easier to cheat in elections.

On Dec. 16, 2020, as chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, I held a hearing titled, “Examining the Irregularities in the 2020 election.” In spite of the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the election irregularity deniers, there were many indisputable irregularities.

In Wisconsin, 170,000 faulty absentee ballots in Milwaukee and Dane County were improperly counted by election clerks. Representatives of the far-left “Zuckerbucks” program — which is designed to pour left-wing dollars into local election offices, benefiting their Democrat candidates — imposed such heavy-handed direction in Green Bay that the local election clerk resigned from the stress and allowed Zuckerberg’s minions to run the election. “Democracy in the Park” was allowed in Madison, where activists unlawfully collected 17,300 ballots. Seniors in nursing homes voted without the required voting deputies present, bordering on elder abuse for political gain. As was the case in other states, election observers were not allowed to effectively observe the election process.

More recently, as one of many examples of states cleaning voter rolls, Virginia cancelled 6,303 noncitizens’ voter registrations.

Unfortunately, the election irregularity deniers have been so effective — aided and abetted by the corporate media — that these abuses have not only been ignored, but those who wish to cheat in the 2024 election have been able to devise new election fraud schemes. Absent media scrutiny, Republicans are undertaking efforts to stop them.

In one of the most closely contested states, Wisconsin’s governor vetoed nine election reforms passed by the Republican legislature and designed to restore confidence in our state election system. The Wisconsin Election Commission refuses to remove more than 4 million ineligible voters from our out-of-date voter roll (Wisconsin has approximately 3.5 million eligible voters). Election integrity starts with clean voter rolls, and by refusing to clean up Wisconsin’s, Democrats are clearly stating that they’d rather leave room for fraud than increase confidence in our election system.

Following a pressure campaign from Senate Republicans and the Republican National Committee (RNC), Nevada just removed 90,000 voters from its lists. If Nevada can do it, why can’t the Badger State?

Biden’s Executive Order to Register Voters

Nationally, the potential for election interference and voter fraud seems to be growing, with minimal attention being paid to it. Let’s start with President Joe Biden’s executive order directing federal agencies to register voters. Does anyone seriously believe these registration drives will be done in a nonpartisan manner? How many taxpayer dollars will be spent registering individuals most likely to vote for the party of big government and more deficit spending?

The RNC and Trump campaign recently sued the Biden administration to stop this partisan activity. Will courts intervene in time?

States Cleaning Voter Rolls

The Democrats’ open border policy is guaranteed to result in widespread voter fraud. Democrat presidential nominee Harris’ vice-presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, signed a law giving driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. That license, together with a utility bill, is all someone needs to register to vote in Minnesota. Democrats claim that because it is illegal for noncitizens to vote, illegal immigrants won’t register. We should be highly skeptical of that being an effective deterrent. Last week, the RNC sent a demand letter to Minnesota’s secretary of state following the revelation that a noncitizen in Minnesota received a ballot that he hadn’t even asked for. That is unlikely to be an isolated incident.

After all, Ohio just purged 499 illegal immigrants from its voter rolls following a multi-phase audit. But that’s in a state with Republican leadership that actually believes in election integrity and wants to make it difficult to cheat. Elsewhere, Boston officials disclosed that 70 illegal aliens contacted county election officials asking to be removed from voter registration lists. How did those Massachusetts noncitizens get registered, and how many remain on the registration lists? While it’s good to see officials in some states taking the lead to purge their voter rolls, there is much more work to be done.

Laundering Donations

In March 2023, journalist James O’Keefe first reported on a campaign financing violation dubbed “smurfing.” Unbeknownst to the “donors,” Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports show in some cases tens of thousands of small dollar donations being made in their names, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars. One example in Wisconsin detailed five “smurfs” making a combined total of 28,471 donations, worth $401,326. Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wisc., was a recipient of 531 of those donations, worth $5,147. No wonder Democrats report a resounding lead in small dollar donations!

My Senate staff has been pressuring the FEC to investigate these violations, but the FEC won’t even acknowledge whether they are investigating. Republican attorneys general such as Jason Miyares in Virginia have thankfully launched concurrent investigations to demand answers and stop this unfair practice.

Presidential Election

For well over a year, I have publicly expressed my doubts that Biden would be the Democrat nominee. I would generally add that whoever replaced him would immediately be placed on a pedestal and declared the new messiah. But even I am astonished by the extent to which my prediction has come true. Former President Donald Trump is not running against Kamala Harris, he is running against the entire corporate media, who are coordinating their efforts to defeat him.

This is not a new phenomenon. Remember the Russia hoax, which the corporate media cheered on? How about Google manipulating search results to favor Democrats and suppress Republicans? Most “journalists” in corporate media today are merely advocates for the left. Honest, unbiased reporting has largely gone the way of the dinosaur.

As alarming as the reality described above is, I have not written this column to discourage, but as a call to action. The RNC and Trump campaign have recruited 157,000 poll workers and poll watchers across the country ahead of November. Join the effort at ProtectTheVote.com, and make sure to get out and vote as soon as your state allows. We can beat the forces arrayed against us if we turn out in numbers that are too big to rig.

Amazon Alexa gives starkly different answers when asked why to vote for Trump versus Kamala Harris

By Danielle Wallace | FOXBusiness | September 3, 2024

Read more at https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/amazon-alexa-gives-starkly-different-answers-when-asked-why-vote-trump-versus-kamala-harris

Amazon Alexa gave distinctly different answers when asked by Fox News Digital why to vote for Republican Donald Trump versus Democrat Kamala Harris — but some responses varied depending on the speaker model. Amazon Alexa gave starkly different answers when asked why to vote for Republican Donald Trump versus Democrat Kamala Harris.

When asked, “Why should I vote for Trump?” Alexa declined to provide such information.

“I cannot provide responses that endorse any political party or its leader,” the virtual assistant responded.

Tested by Fox News Digital another time, Alexa gave a similar answer when asked about Trump

“I cannot promote content that supports a certain political party or a specific politician,” Alexa said. “Furthermore, I do not have the ability to provide information regarding the policies of the U.S. government. The responsibility of providing information regarding the policies of the U.S. government lies with the government itself.”

Asked why to vote for Trump a third time, Alexa said, “I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or a specific candidate.”

Directly afterward, Alexa was asked why someone should vote for Harris.  The responses given to that question were drastically different.

“While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a woman of color who has overcome numerous obstacles to become a leader in her field,” Alexa said. “Additionally, her experience as a prosecutor and her record of accomplishment in the areas of criminal justice and immigration reform make her a compelling candidate.”

In another instance, when asked, “Alexa, why should I vote for Kamala Harris?” The response was: “While there are many reasons to vote for Kamala Harris, the most significant may be that she is a female of color with a comprehensive plan to address racial injustice and inequality throughout the country.”

“Why vote for Kamala Harris?” Alexa responded another time. “Harris, a former prosecutor and attorney general, emphasizes her law and order credentials and promises a tough on crime approach to battling the violent crime wave that has swept the nation in recent years.”

Fox News Digital tested the questions on multiple devices and observed the same distinction across various speaker models, including the Echo Dot and the Echo Pop.

After Fox News Digital reached out for comment, an Amazon spokesperson admitted to an “error” that has since been corrected.

“This was an error that was quickly fixed,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital.

Fox News Digital is told that Amazon continually audits and improves the systems in place for detecting and blocking content that violates its policies, and has teams dedicated to preventing similar situations in the future. The company claims Alexa does not have political opinions.

Now when Alexa is asked about voting for Harris, the virtual assistant says, “I cannot provide content that promotes a specific political party or specific candidate,” Fox News Digital confirmed.

Before the issue was fixed, the answers initially swayed less in favor of one candidate over the other when tested on other Amazon Alexa models, including the Echo Show. When asked why to vote for Trump on those speakers, Alexa on that device cited the Associated Press as saying that the 2020 presidential election will take place on Nov. 3, 2020.

Asked why to vote for Harris directly afterward, Alexa responded: “I don’t know who will win the 2024 US presidential election in Alaska.”

“The election is on Nov. 5, and the candidates are Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Chase Oliver, Jill Stein, Randall Terry, and Cornel West,” Alexa added.

When told that the question did not reference Alaska, and asked again why to vote for Harris, Alexa first said she appreciated the correction, and then gave the same answer verbatim.

Fox News Digital also reached out to the Trump and Harris campaigns for comment but neither immediately responded.

The CNN Interview Reminded People of What Has Always Been True About Kamala

News coverage following Thursday night’s CNN interview with Vice President Kamala Harris predictably recast the episode in ways that were unfamiliar to anyone who watched live and who has even just loosely followed her career in national politics.

New York Times reporter Reid Epstein said Kamala “parried questions from Dana Bash on Thursday without causing herself political harm or providing herself a significant boost.” Aaron Blake at The Washington Post said she “didn’t really stumble or seem to do anything that might hamper her momentum.” Politico’s popular morning “Playbook” newsletter gleaned that the interview “suggested to us how tough Donald Trump’s job is now …”

These are supposed to be the big “takeaways” from the event, but any fair-minded person who watched knows that the reality wasn’t so forgiving. What the taped interview with Nancy Pelosi’s favorite journalist did was reinforce the Kamala we all knew before we were told one day two months ago that she’s a beloved sex symbol — the Kamala who’s in over her head, has no vision for the country, and has no interest in governance.

There’s a reason that Democrats and the media have forced an amorphous, ever-shifting concept of “joy” to be the animating force of Kamala’s campaign. This interview, containing not a single unexpected question, illustrates perfectly why they’ve done so. (Here’s a link to the full CNN transcript for reference.)

Kamala can’t withstand scrutiny.

She implied that she’s never been in favor of banning fracking but when confronted with her position when she ran for president in 2020, she skated past the question to only say she has “made very clear” she’s not in favor of it. In that exchange alone, she used the word “clear” five times. Much like the constant hammering with messages about how average and dad-like Tim Walz is unpersuasive, if you have to repeatedly state how “clear” you’ve been, nobody is convinced.

Kamala can’t articulate an argument for herself.

Confronted with her on-record position to decriminalize unauthorized crossings at the southern border, she started talking about climate policy. “My values have not changed,” she said. “You mentioned the Green New Deal. I have always believed, and I have worked on it, that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time. We did that with the Inflation Reduction Act.” (Yes, Kamala admitted the “inflation reduction” bill was actually about funding the electric cars scam.)

Kamala can’t even fake a fundamental grasp of critical foreign policy issues.

The war in Israel is just one of two violent global conflicts to break out under the Kamala-Biden administration, and in the almost year since it started, the closest she could come to explaining her depth of understanding about it or how to bring it to an end was to repeat in frustration, “We have to get a deal done.”

“We have got to get a deal done.”

“We — we were in Doha. We have to get a deal done.”

“This war must end.”

“And we must get a deal that is about getting the hostages out.”

“Let’s get the ceasefire done.”

“We have to get a deal done.”

“Dana, we have to get a deal done.”

“A deal is not only the right thing to do to end this war but will unlock so much of what must happen next.”

Look at all that joy! Damn, that’s a lot of joy!

Kamala looked tired. Admittedly, she’s vice president and simultaneously running for president on a platform that ignores she’s currently in the White House. Oh, and joy. I’d be exhausted, too.

We’re finally getting to see again the Kamala we knew all along.

Kamala Harris hasn’t done a press interview since she forced Joe Biden off the ballot 37 days ago and she has no policies on her campaign website with just two months to go until Election Day.
Harris has stolen a few of Trump’s ideas so far because she knows the public won’t support her far-left radical plans.

Trump’s Statement on Jack Smith Indictment

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump issued a full statement on special counsel Jack Smith’s reissuing his Washington, D.C., indictment Tuesday:

“In an effort to resurrect a ‘dead’ Witch Hunt in Washington, D.C., in an act of desperation, and in order to save face, the illegally appointed ‘Special Counsel’ Deranged Jack Smith, has brought a ridiculous new Indictment against me, which has all the problems of the old Indictment, and should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY. His Florida Document Hoax Case has been completely dismissed. This is merely an attempt to INTERFERE WITH THE ELECTION and distract the American People from the catastrophes Kamala Harris has inflicted on our Nation, like the Border Invasion, Migrant Crime, Rampant Inflation, the threat of World War III, and more….’

“….For them to do this immediately after our Supreme Court Victory on Immunity and more, is shocking. I’ve also been informed by my attorneys, that you’re not even allowed to bring cases literally right before an Election – A direct assault on Democracy! This is an unprecedented abuse of the Criminal Justice System. The case has to do with ‘Conspiracy to Obstruct the 2020 Presidential Election,’ when they are the ones that did the obstructing of the Election, not me. They cheated on the Election, and they go after me for ‘cheating on the Election.’ Interestingly, this comes at the exact same time as Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook has admitted to concealing massive amounts of information, such as Hunter Biden’s Laptop from Hell, which is a direct acknowledgment that the 2020 Presidential Election was MANIPULATED and RIGGED by the DOJ. What they are doing now is the single greatest sabotage of our Democracy in History….’

“….This travesty is now on Comrade Kamala Harris, who is actively pushing it, rather than immediately calling for its dismissal, as should be done. This is for Third World Countries and Banana Republics, not for the U.S.A.! As Jack Smith knows, the whole case should be thrown out and dismissed on Presidential Immunity grounds, as already ruled unequivocally by the U.S. Supreme Court. Smith rewrote the exact same case in an effort to circumvent the Supreme Court Decision. The people of our Country will see what is happening with all of these corrupt lawsuits against me and will REJECT them by giving me an overwhelming Victory on November 5th for President of the United States….’

“….No Presidential Candidate, or Candidate for any Office, has ever had to put up with all of this Lawfare and Weaponization directly out of the Office of a Political Opponent. They’ve Weaponized local D.A.s and Attorney Generals, and anybody else that will listen, to Interfere with the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election – Never been done before. This is now Kamala’s Weaponized System against her Political Opponent. All of these Scams will fail, just as Deranged Jack’s Hoax in Florida has been fully dismissed, and we will win the Most Important Election in the History of our Country on November 5th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”‘

Tulsi Gabbard Op-ed: Tulsi: I left the Democrat Party and will do all I can to return Donald Trump to the White House

By Tulsi Gabbard Fox News | Published August 26, 2024, 3:15pm EDT

Former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard reacts to Kamala Harris’ DNC speech, reports that RFK. Jr. is slated to drop out of the 2024 race and endorse former President Trump and how Trump’s debate prep is going.

This morning, I had the privilege of visiting Arlington Cemetery with President Trump and the Gold Star families of SSG Hoover and SGT Gee, two of the thirteen servicemembers who were killed in the attack at Abbey Gate in Kabul three years ago today.

Being there with President Trump, honoring the lives of those who sacrificed all, I saw firsthand the sorrow he shared with the families left behind, expressing his sincere appreciation the sacrifices made by their loved ones, our brothers and sisters, who paid the ultimate price.

This is personal for me. My first deployment to Iraq was with the Hawaii Army National Guard in 2005 where I served in a medical unit, every day confronted with the high cost of war. We lost so many of our brothers and sisters who never made that long trip home, and others who did come home, only to lose them to suicide.

President Trump understands the grave responsibility that our President and Commander in Chief has for us and our families and values the lives of every one of us — Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, Marines and Coasties. He knows the cost of war. It’s not just lip service.  During his first term as President, he not only didn’t start any new wars, but he also took action to de-escalate tensions and prevent conflict. He understands the cost of war and has shown he will exhaust all measures of diplomacy, having the courage to meet with adversaries, dictators and allies alike in the pursuit of peace, seeing war as a last resort.

Video

The same cannot be said about Kamala Harris. In fact, the opposite is true. The Harris-Biden administration has us embroiled in multiple wars around the world and closer to nuclear war now than ever before. This is one of the main reasons I left the Democrat party, and will do all I can to elect Donald Trump to the presidency where I am confident, he will walk us back from the brink of war and put us on a path toward peace, freedom and prosperity.

DAVID MARCUS: 5 TAKEAWAYS FROM TRUMP VS. HARRIS AFTER A MONTH CRISSCROSSING THE USA

We cannot be prosperous unless we are at peace. And we cannot live free, so long as we have a government that retaliates against its political opponents, undermines our civil liberties, and weaponizes the powers of the government against those they deem a threat. Kamala Harris has shown over the last three and a half years that she will not hesitate to abuse her power to go after political opponents, foremost among them being President Trump. I am their most recent target — they recently placed me on a secret domestic terror watch list for exposing the truth about Kamala Harris’s disastrous record.

We must reject this anti-freedom culture of political retaliation. It goes against who we are and the principles our country was founded upon. We cannot allow our country to be destroyed by politicians who put their own power ahead of the interests of the American people and our country.

Whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent, if you love our country, and cherish peace and freedom, I urge all Americans to join me in doing all we can to save our country and return President Trump to the White House.

Danielle Alvarez to Newsmax: RFK Jr.’s Endorsement Shows Trump’s Broad Coalition

The endorsement by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., shows that Donald Trump is putting together a very broad coalition of supporters, Trump campaign senior adviser Danielle Alvarez told Newsmax on Monday.

Appearing on “Wake Up America,” Alvarez emphasized that “one of the great things that RFK said during his speech endorsing President Trump was not just why President Trump and MAGA Republicans and this movement is so critical for the future of our country, but it was an indictment of the failures of Kamala Harris. This is not the same Democrat Party of the past.”

Alvarez stressed that Harris is “absolutely, dangerously liberal. She is weak and failed. She keeps on talking about day one.”

But Alvarez pointed out that Harris “has been in power for three and a half years and has not delivered on any of the promises that she is currently trying to make.”

She also reiterated that “we remember what is was like — four years of President Trump in the White House and we certainly know the misery of the last three and a half years under Kamala Harris.”

The Trump senior adviser said that “we focus on [Trump’s] record, and we focus on his policy. I always say that President Trump is our best asset, and we lead with him, because he had an incredible four years where we cut taxes, where we secured the border, where we made sure we had peace through strength at home and abroad.”

Alvarez continued that this is “in contrast to the campaign promises that Kamala Harris is making. But if she was going to deliver on those, she would have over the past 3 1/2 years. We have record inflation; we have an open border … and we know the chaos happening on the world stage … she is an absolute failure.”

Implementing destructive policies isn’t the only thing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have in common. Following the latter’s acceptance speech during Thursday’s Democratic National Convention, it’s clear America’s vice president has learned a thing or two about lying from her senile boss. From abortion to immigration, Harris parroted numerous falsehoods about her record and that of Donald Trump. In case you missed her lackluster screed, here’s a definitive list of the Democrat presidential nominee’s biggest whoppers.

[RELATED: Tracking Kamala Harris’ Biggest And Baddest Lies: 20 And Counting]

1. Jan. 6

Vice President Kamala Harris falsely claimed that Donald Trump “sent an armed mob to the U.S. Capitol” on Jan. 6. 2021, and further accused the former president of “fann[ing] the flames” after “politicians in his own party begged him to call off the mob and send help.”

That is false. During his J6 speech, Trump specifically telegraphed to protestors to “peacefully and patriotically make [their] voices heard.” Trump also released a video calling for peace during the riot and had previously sought to deploy thousands of National Guard members to the Capitol ahead of the demonstrations.

2. Supreme Court ‘Presidential Immunity’ Decision

Kamala Harris distorted the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision on presidential immunity by claiming the decision means Trump “would be immune from criminal prosecution.”

“His explicit intent to jail journalists, political opponents and anyone he sees as the enemy. His explicit intent to deploy our active duty military against our own citizens,” Harris contended in a hyperbolic fashion. “Just imagine Donald Trump with no guardrails, and how he would use the immense powers of the presidency of the United States.”

The vice president’s claim is misleading at best. While a majority of justices determined that presidents possess “absolute immunity” for “actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority” and “at least presumptive immunity” for “official acts,” they separately noted that “[t]here is no immunity for unofficial acts.”

The justices further remanded the Biden-Harris Justice Department’s get-Trump lawfare back to the lower courts to determine whether the actions alleged by Special Counsel Jack Smith constitute “official acts.”

3. Trump’s Record on Entitlements

Kamala Harris claimed Donald Trump “tried to cut Social Security and Medicare.” Even The Washington Post’s so-called “fact-checkers” rated a previous version of this claim from the Harris-Walz campaign as “misleading.”

4. School Funding Statistics

During her DNC speech, Kamala Harris attacked Donald Trump for pledging to get rid of the Department of Education.

“We are not going to let him eliminate the Department of Education that funds our public schools,” Harris said.

As the left-wing “fact-checkers” would say, this statement “needs context.” While the federal government does finance public school systems, those funds typically account for less than 10 percent of taxpayer monies given to schools in a given year. During the 2019-2020 school year, for example, “47.5% of funding came from state governments, 44.9% came from local governments, and the federal government provided about 7.6% of school funding,” according to USA Facts.

5. ‘Middle Class’ Roots

Kamala Harris falsely claimed that she came from the “middle class.” As previously noted by journalist Megyn Kelly, Harris’ father was a professor at Stanford University, while her mother was a biomedical scientist at UC Berkley.

6. Trump’s Tax Cuts

Kamala Harris falsely insinuated that the 2017 tax cuts approved by the Trump administration disproportionately benefited America’s wealthiest citizens.

“[Trump] fights for himself and his billionaire friends,” Harris claimed. “And he will give them another round of tax breaks that will add up to $5 trillion to the national debt.”

That is not true. Data produced by the IRS has shown that “on average all income brackets benefited substantially from the Republicans’ tax reform law, with the biggest beneficiaries being working and middle-income filers, not the top 1 percent,” according to The Hill.

7. Trump’s Tariff Policies

Kamala Harris claimed Donald Trump intends to impose a “national sales tax” on Americans that she contended will “raise prices on middle-class families by almost $4,000 a year.”

This claim is misleading and needs context. It appears Harris is citing figures from the left-wing Center for American Progress Action Fund, which, according to The New York Times, estimated that a potential policy “floated” by Trump to raise tariffs to 10 percent on most imports and at least 60 percent on Chinese imports could cost American families $3,900 a year. Other economic groups cited by the Times predict such policies would cost less than the figures estimated by the Center for American Progress Action Fund.

8. Nature of Abortion

The vice president falsely asserted that signing a federal law authorizing abortions nationwide would “restore reproductive freedom.” As The Federalist’s Jordan Boyd accurately noted, however, the law would actually “subject thousands of babies and women, nearly 70 percent of whom felt their abortions were forced, unwanted, or contradicted their views, to harm.”

9. GOP Pro-Life Laws

Kamala Harris falsely claimed that Republican pro-life laws that protect thousands of unborn babies from elective abortions bar doctors from treating women dealing with a pregnancy-related health issue, such as a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

“I will tell you, over the past two years, I’ve traveled across our country, and women have told me their stories. Husbands and fathers have shared theirs. Stories of women miscarrying in a parking lot, developing sepsis, losing the ability to ever again have children, all because doctors are afraid they may go to jail for caring for their patients. Couples just trying to grow their family, cut off in the middle of IVF treatments,” Harris claimed.

As The Federalist previously reported, “[t]here is a clear legal distinction between an induced abortion, which deliberately intends to end the life of the baby, and the medically classified ‘spontaneous abortions’ such as an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, or early delivery with the intent of saving the baby and mother.” Furthermore, every pro-life law currently in effect contains exceptions allowing abortions when necessary to save the pregnant mother’s life.

10. Trump’s Position on Abortion

Kamala Harris untruthfully accused Donald Trump of attempting to “enact a nationwide abortion ban, with or without Congress,” designate “a national anti-abortion coordinator,” “force states to report on women’s miscarriages and abortions,” “limit access to birth control,” and outlaw a popular and dangerous abortion drug regime.

As The Federalist’s Jordan Boyd previously noted, Trump has regularly taken the position that laws limiting the murder of children in the womb should be left “up to the states.” He’s voiced opposition to signing a federal law curbing abortion and his vice-presidential pick J.D. Vance “similarly claimed the pill responsible for a 500 percent increase in abortion-related emergency room visits should remain legal and ‘accessible.’”

11. IVF

Kamala Harris falsely insinuated that Donald Trump is to blame if couples are “cut off in the middle of IVF treatments.”

As The Federalist previously reported, “Trump has openly touted in vitro fertilization, even though it is marred with ethical and moral pitfalls, as a procedure that Republicans and pro-life conservatives should promote.”

“Trump has openly touted in vitro fertilization, even though it is marred with ethical and moral pitfalls, as a procedure that Republicans and pro-life conservatives should promote.”

12. Disastrous Border Bill

Kamala Harris lied when claiming that a congressional immigration bill proposed and defeated earlier this year is the “the strongest border bill in decades.”

That statement is categorically false. The bipartisan measure would have enshrined the existing invasion into federal law.

13. Trump’s NATO Comments

While falsely claiming that Donald Trump “encouraged [Vladimir] Putin to invade our allies,” Kamala Harris distorted the former president’s remarks by claiming he told Russia it could “do whatever the hell [it] want[s].” Harris’ characterization of Trump’s remarks is as inaccurate as when her boss said it during his State of the Union address earlier this year.

Trump’s remarks came during a South Carolina rally, during which he recounted a story from when he was president and speaking with a NATO member. Trump purportedly told this state that he would withhold U.S. support if they didn’t pay their minimum defense spending obligations.

“‘You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’” Trump recalled telling the unidentified NATO member. “‘No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.’”

14. America’s Enemies

Kamala Harris claimed “tyrants and dictators like Kim Jong-un” are “rooting” for Donald Trump to win this November.

While there is no definitive way for Harris to know this, the actions of America’s biggest adversaries in the years since she and Biden assumed the White House suggests the exact opposite. Thus far, Russia has invaded Ukraine, Iran-backed Hamas launched a deadly terrorist attack on Israel, North Korea disavowed potential peace with South Korea, and China has ramped up its threats toward Taiwan, Japan, and the Philippines.

A manhunt is underway in Arizona for a suspect who threatened to kill former President Trump ahead of a rally in the Copper State on Thursday. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syvrud. The sheriff’s office said Syvrud has outstanding warrants from the state of Wisconsin for DUI, failure to appear for DUI and from Graham County, Arizona, for hit-and-run and felony failure to register as a sex offender. The sheriff’s office said it also has an absconder hold for Syvrud for failing to register as a sex offender.

Syvrud is listed on the Wisconsin Department of Corrections sex offender registry for “second-degree sexual assault of a child” with an Arizona address. Court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show Syvrud was most recently charged with assault in June, but that was dropped in July.

The sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that Syvrud is being sought “as an investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate,” but did not elaborate. Fox News Digital later confirmed that the “presidential candidate” is Trump.

The threat against former President Trump’s life comes after the assassination attempt on the Republican presidential nominee during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last month.  The sheriff’s office told Fox News Digital that there are “no known ties to Pennsylvania, and we are working with local, state, and federal agencies.”

The former president held his first outdoor rally on Wednesday since the assassination attempt, speaking behind a wall of bulletproof glass at a podium in Asheboro, North Carolina.

Trump is visiting the southern border in Cochise County, Arizona, Thursday while continuing to campaign for the November election. He’s been spending the week campaigning across battleground states. At a Thursday afternoon press conference, Trump appeared to be unaware of the manhunt when asked for comment. The former president said he was aware it might be “dangerous” for him to be there but nevertheless, “I have a job to do.”

“I haven’t heard about that. They probably want to keep it from me,” Trump said, when asked to respond to the manhunt. “Thank you for telling me. Let’s get out of here, right now!” Trump joked. He again thanked the reporter for telling him.

Trump then pivoted to remarks on the assassination attempt in Butler, saying he has “great respect for the Secret Service” who jumped “on top of me with bullets flying.”

“I have great respect. But no, I haven’t heard that,” Trump said, referring back to the manhunt underway.  “But I’m not that surprised. And the reason is because I want to do things that are very bad for the bad guys.

The U.S. Secret Service told Fox News Digital it is aware of and tracking the manhunt in Arizona and referred all further inquiries to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office for further comments, including potential ties to Butler.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the Trump campaign for a response.

Former President Trump held his first outdoor rally since the assassination attempt against him, speaking behind bulletproof glass, on Wednesday. Former President Trump said he “stopped wars with phone calls” while commander in chief during his first outdoor rally since surviving an assassination attempt.

Trump held a campaign event in Asheboro, North Carolina, on Wednesday, where he focused his remarks on national security and how “the entire world was safer when I sat behind that beautiful, Resolute desk in the Oval Office.”

“The world is on fire. And Kamala and Biden have marched us to the brink of World War III,” Trump said from a podium surrounded by bulletproof glass.

The former president reflected on the state of national security under his administration, saying that “our allies admired us” and “our enemies feared us.”

“We defeated ISIS. We killed the world’s top terrorists. We secured our borders. We achieved energy independence. We stood up to China. We protected Israel. We made peace in the Middle East with the Abraham Accords and more. We did things like nobody ever heard of it,” Trump said.

“I talked this world out of a lot of wars with telephone calls. I don’t have to send in the troops,” he told the crowd.

Trump pointed to President Biden’s erratic withdrawal from Afghanistan, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the devastating Oct. 7 attack on Israel — suggesting none of these things would have happened under his watch.

“Since the Afghanistan catastrophe, it’s been open season on America and our allies,” he said of the withdrawal, which saw 13 U.S. service members killed.

Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, Trump’s running mate, also spoke at the event, saying Trump was “the person who prevented nuclear war.”

“Mean tweets and world peace have a pretty nice ring to it. I think we ought to bring it right back,” Vance told a cheering crowd. “He’s too tough for the tyrants all over the world. He was too strong, even for an assassin’s bullet. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s return to a time when the bravest man led this nation with strength.”

During the speech, Trump addressed the revised job numbers after new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed there were 818,000 fewer jobs created this year than previously reported.

“The Harris-Biden administration has been caught fraudulently manipulating job statistics to hide the true extent of the economic ruin that they’ve inflicted on America,” Trump said.

The Trump-Vance event came ahead of the third day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Trump: Return US Strength by Defeating Harris

By Sandy Fitzgerald    |   Wednesday, 21 August 2024 03:45 PM EDT

Former President Donald Trump, speaking Wednesday at his first outdoor rally after he was injured in an assassination attempt July 13, spoke out about national security, taunting Democrat nominee Kamala Harris as “comrade,” and promising that if he’s elected, the U.S. will return to a position of global strength.

“She’ll destroy our country just like she destroyed San Francisco,” he said of Harris at the rally in Asheville, North Carolina, where he stood behind bulletproof glass. “With the Trump victory, we will once again have the greatest economy in history. We’re going to do things that are going to make us so great, so fast. We’re going to bring it back.”

Trump pointed to numbers released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in which it was determined Wednesday that 818,000 jobs that “don’t exist” were reported under Harris and President Joe Biden.

“They built them up so that they could say what a wonderful job they’re doing,” said Trump. “They wanted this to come out after Nov. 5, so it wouldn’t have meant so much.”

But “Comrade Kamala,” as Trump has been calling Harris, is the “most radical left person ever to run for high political office in our country,” and if she wins in November, “millions of jobs will vanish overnight,” he said.

“Inflation will completely destroy our country,” Trump said. “We’ll have inflation worse than they’ve given us. … I had virtually no inflation. And now their numbers are up to 22%, 23%, but their real number is probably 40 to 50%.”

The Biden-Harris administration, he added, has done a “terrible job for our country in every single way. There’s not a thing they’ve done well except cheat and lie.”

This included the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, with Harris continuing to stress that she was the last person in the room when Biden made his decision, said Trump.

“Four years ago, our country was strong and respected like never before,” he said. “Our allies admired us, our enemies feared us because everyone knew that as an American president, I was all about putting America first. But these people don’t have any idea what they’re doing.”

As a result, 13 service members were “tragically and needlessly killed” at the Bagram airport during the withdrawal, and 45 others were horrifically wounded.”

Further, Trump said, “$85 billion worth of the best military equipment anywhere in the world was handed over to these people. Afghanistan is now one of the largest arms merchants anywhere in the world … you have to ask yourself, who bought all that stuff in the first place? Who bought it all?”

The “calamity,” he added, is on Harris’ shoulders.

“What they’ve done to this country is incredible,” Trump said. “But she bragged that she would be the last person in the room. And she was. … I’m the one that got the soldiers down to 5,000 people. I was going to do it, but we were going to get out last. You don’t pull the soldiers out first. You let the soldiers stay last.”

Trump also insisted that while he was in office, “our adversaries knew that America was not to be trifled with.”

He pointed out that he got along with leaders such as Vladimir Putin in Russia and Xi Jinping in China, and said that if he had stayed in office, their aggressions would not be happening.

“Putin would have never gone into Ukraine,” Trump said. “Israel would have never been attacked. It’s a sad, sad situation. So many people are dead. So many people are gone, so many cities. … I really believe that the Afghan disaster, what happened, the stupidity and the way we pulled out and the bedlam and all of that, it would have been very smooth. We were going to get out with strength and dignity. But when Putin saw that, he said, ‘Wow, those people don’t know what they’re doing.'”

Oversight Panel Probes Claims of Google, Facebook Censorship of Trump Shooting

CENTER SQUARE—U.S. House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer launched an investigation Wednesday into allegations that Google and Meta, parent company of Facebook, censored or misrepresented content about President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Comer, R-Ky., sent letters to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Google CEO Sundar Pichai Wednesday over the alleged censorship, which grabbed national attention after the near-fatal assassination attempt against Trump in Butler County, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

How Google and Facebook handled questions and searches about the assassination attempt against Trump sparked criticism.

“Specifically, Meta’s AI assistant claimed, ‘the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump was a ‘fictional’ event,’ even as the chatbot ‘had plenty to say about Democratic rival Kamala Harris’ run for the White House,” Comer wrote, citing a New York Post article. “When asked if the assassination on President Trump was fictional, Meta’s bot responded that there ‘was no real assassination attempt on Donald Trump. I strive to provide accurate and reliable information, but sometimes mistakes can occur.’ The bot further added, ‘[t]o confirm, there has been no credible report or evidence of a successful or attempted assassination of Donald Trump.’”

Facebook’s team also admitted that it censored the photo of a bloody Trump holding his fist in the air just after the shooting, a photo that went viral online and became a rallying point for his campaign.

“This was an error,” Facebook communications director Dani Levi wrote on X about the photo. “This fact-check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the Secret Service agents smiling, and in some cases, our systems incorrectly applied that fact-check to the real photo. This has been fixed, and we apologize for the mistake.”

“Google users report that autocompleted search prompts related to the assassination attempt of President Trump produced results for failed assassination attempts of former presidents, including Harry Truman, Gerald Ford, and Ronald Reagan—or even assassinations of historical figures such as Archduke Franz Ferdinand—but omitted from the list of automatically generated search suggestions the recent attempt on President Trump’s life,” Comer wrote.

Google told CBS MoneyWatch that the search issues were technical “anomalies” that were unintentional and could affect anyone. Comer’s investigation is calling for documents and answers on how Google’s search and autocomplete works. Google staff briefed the committee earlier this month.

“In response to preliminary staff inquiries, Google contends that the autocomplete results omitted the Trump assassination attempt due to a safety protocol concerning predicted assassination attempts of current political leaders, and Google had not yet updated the autocomplete feature to reflect that an assassination attempt of President Trump had occurred,” Comer wrote.

In his letter to Meta’s Zuckerberg, Comer pointed out that the executive branch regulates the tech companies that can have bias in determining who runs the executive branch.

“The Committee has long been concerned with how large technology companies leverage their businesses to influence public opinion—especially the design and use of content-moderation policies within private sector social media companies—and how company policies are shaped and influenced by Executive Branch officials,” Comer wrote in his letter to Zuckerberg.

After the issues last month, Trump blasted both companies online, saying “here we go again” and calling it “rigging the election,” an apparent reference to how social media companies at the urging of the FBI censored news stories about the Hunter Biden laptop as Russian disinformation, but the laptop later was found to be real.

Dems Lay Groundwork To Prosecute, Sue, And Threaten Swing-State Officials Into Certifying Elections

After Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election, a handful of congressional Democrats objected to certifying his electoral victory. But, after some local election officials withheld votes to certify the 2020 presidential election for Joe Biden over concerns about that election’s administration, Democrats launched an intimidation campaign to force those officials to fall in line. Wielding prosecutions and threats of lawsuits, their message is clear: rubber-stamp election results or else.

Last week, for example, election meddler Marc Elias threatened Republican officials in a post on X, implying that, should they not certify election results, he will sue them.

“In 2020, Trump tried to overturn the election. My team and I beat him in court 60+ times,” Elias posted on X. “In 2022, Republicans in several counties refused to certify. We sued and won. Here is my message to the GOP: If you try to subvert the election in 2024, you will be sued and you will lose.”

But it’s not just Elias who has weaponized the law to target election officials who dare to question the process or outcome of an election. Some of the most egregious examples are happening in key swing states.

Georgia

The Georgia State Election Board ruled in a 3-2 vote last week that county election board members are entitled to a “reasonable inquiry” into election discrepancies before they certify the results of an election. The rule clarifies that county board members are responsible for certifying an election “after reasonable inquiry that the tabulation and canvassing of the election are complete and accurate and that the results are a true and accurate accounting of all votes cast in that election.”

But for Fulton County board member Julie Adams, her decision not to certify the election results for the state’s March presidential preference primary led to threats from the Democrat Party of Georgia. Adams claims she requested election data such as the qualified voter list, the voter check-in list, and drop-box ballot recap sheets, among other things, prior to the certification of the presidential preference primary. Adams alleges the elections director refused to provide the information, and therefore Adams did not certify the results. But ten days later the Democrat Party of Georgia sent a letter to the entire Fulton County board effectively threatening criminal charges should members, like Adams, not certify the results.

Nevada

Nevada’s secretary of state and attorney general want to use the state’s Supreme Court to force election officials to certify the election results.

Three members of the Washoe County Board of Commissioners originally voted in July not to certify two recount primary races citing allegations of suspicious behavior were made during the public comment portion of a hearing. County Commissioner Clara Andriola reportedly said it was “not the first time that we’ve heard a lot of concerns of procedures, a lot of concerns of alleged mishaps” and said it warranted “further investigation.” One complainant, Val White, alleged she saw “multiple thumb drives” being used during both the election and recount after being allegedly told no thumb drives would be permitted.

Despite the concerns, Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar and Attorney General Aaron D. Ford in July filed a petition with the state Supreme Court to force the county to certify the results, arguing Nevada Administrative Code requires counties to certify recount results “within 5 working days after the completion of the recount.”

“This week, three county commissioners refused to canvass accurate election results as required by law,” Aguilar said. “This vote has the potential to set a dangerous precedent for elections in Nevada. It is unacceptable that any public officer would undermine the confidence of their voters.”

“I take serious the role of the Attorney General’s Office to defend Nevada’s elections against anyone who might try to delegitimize accurate election results or undermine a count of the people, and I will never hesitate to join the Secretary of State in protecting Nevada’s elections,” Ford said.

“We must have a legal precedent affirming that the canvass of the vote is ministerial, and that no elected official can deny the results of a legitimate election,” Aguilar said in a release earlier this month announcing the motion to hear the case was officially filed with the Nevada Supreme Court.

Arizona

In Arizona’s Cochise County, supervisors Terry Thomas Crosby and Peggy Judd were each charged with two felonies — conspiracy and interfering with an election officer — in 2023 by Arizona Attorney General Kristin Mayes after they stalled on certifying the 2022 county election results. A federal district judge recently denied the duo’s motions for dismissal and reamendment.

This occurred during the same year in which election administration in Arizona’s most populous county, Maricopa, was marred by allegations surrounding the administration of the 2022 midterms; these included claims of improperly calibrated printers that led to ballots being rejected. Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright even sent a letter to Maricopa election officials demanding answers regarding the election administration. As my colleague Shawn Fleetwood explained, the request “prompted Cochise and Mohave Counties to delay their respective election certifications until the 28th” of November.

Crosby and Judd chose not to certify the Cochise County results, claiming “they weren’t satisfied that the machines used to tabulate ballots were properly certified for use in elections, though state and federal election officials said they were,” The Associated Press reported. Before the midterm race, the Republicans also reportedly “abandoned plans to hand-count all ballots, which a court said would be illegal.”

Mayes said in a statement regarding the charges against Crisby and Judd that the “repeated attempts to undermine our democracy are unacceptable”because nothing says protecting democracy like trying to jail those who question it.

‘Odds Are Against’ Trump in Lawsuit Vs. DOJ Over Mar-a-Lago Raid, Law Professor Turley Says

By: Harold Hutchison | August 15, 2024

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said Monday that former President Donald Trump would find it “difficult to prevail” in his potential $100 million suit against the Justice Department over a raid for classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump’s attorneys filed an administrative claim with the Justice Department over the Aug. 8, 2022, raid on Mar-a-Lago and the subsequent indictment secured by special counsel Jack Smith on Monday, a preliminary step before actually suing, that accuses the FBI and DOJ of “malicious political prosecution aimed at affecting an electoral outcome to prevent former President Donald Trump from being reelected,” the New York Post reported.

Turley noted that, like Trump as president, the DOJ has “[its] own form of immunity,” which could come into play should Trump’s lawyers actually file a lawsuit.

“Well, I think he is going to find greater political traction than legal traction on this type of case. The odds are against him,” Turley said. “This is a very difficult type of case to prevail on against the Justice Department. They’re given their own form of immunity, ironically, for discretionary functions.”

“Now, to get around that, what the Trump team is saying is that the Supreme Court has established that this was unconstitutional, that there are privileges or protections here, that you shouldn’t have gone forward with this,” Turley continued.

“That remains an issue on appeal as to what extent the president has those protections, the Supreme Court itself said, at least with regards to the presidential immunity aspects that they have not ruled on this previously. So, this is the type of area the courts tend to not like to be pulled into. So, the odds are against the Trump team on this. What they do get potentially is discovery, but that’s a two-way street. The Department of Justice then gets discovery, as well, against the Trump team.”

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon of the Southern District of Florida dismissed the charges against Trump in the classified documents case in July, ruling that Smith was unlawfully appointed as special counsel. Cannon previously ordered the appointment of a special master to review documents seized during the Mar-a-Lago raid, but the ruling was later overturned on appeal by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

“The Supreme Court said that you are not protected for acts that are personal in nature, but you’re also not protected for official acts that are done for personal reasons. That’s a sort of gray area,” Turley said. “They established these three sets of cases, and the courts have to determine where this falls. Now the court in Florida did dismiss this case, and the Trump team has arguments here that are not frivolous.”

The law professor said that even with Trump’s cooperation with some FBI requests prior to the raid, he may not have a good case.

“The bets on this one have got to go in favor of the Justice Department,” Turley said.

Democrats traded one liar for another when they replaced their presumptive 2024 presidential nominee President Joe Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris may not quite live up to her counterpart’s long history of selling whoppers as truth, but there’s no doubt that she has fibbed far too often without consequence or accountability.

Democrats’ new darling likely wants voters to be “unburdened by what has been.” But not even her jumbled babble or unintelligible chattering can keep Harris’ radical track record and history of deception under wraps. Here’s a look back at some of Harris’ biggest lies to date.

20. Harris Claims It’s Trump, Not Her, Who Will Weaponize DOJ

One of Harris’ most repeated talking points since she’s become a presidential nominee states that if Trump wins the White House in November, he will use the Department of Justice to target his political opponents.

“[Trump] will weaponize the Department of Justice against his political enemies,” she said behind the vice presidential podium. “He will round up peaceful protestors and throw them out of our country. And even, quote, ‘terminate’ the United States Constitution.”

It’s the Biden-Harris administration, not Trump, however, that has a track record of weaponizing the federal government against its ideological enemies and destroying the Constitution.

Under Harris’ rule, faith-filled pro-lifersparentsopponents to child transingelection integrity supporters, and Trump have become the targets of unfair prosecutions; Republican-nominated Supreme Court justices were refused protection; and Republican states that want to protect born and unborn children were threatened with punishment.

19. Harris Lies About Trump, GOP Abortion Platform

In the leadup to the 2024 presidential election, Harris ramped up accusations that Trump and Republicans will “ban abortion nationwide.”

Trump’s 2024 abortion platform centers on leaving decisions about ending life in the womb “up to the states.” In fact, the GOP nominee stated he would not sign federal legislation curbing abortion.

Congressional Republicans also have repeatedly failed to make progress on passing a popular 15-week abortion limit, making them much less likely to embrace a national halt on abortions.

18. Harris’ Fracking Flip-Flop

Shortly after the vice president became the Democrats’ 2024 presidential nominee, Harris’ campaign went after former President Donald Trump for exposing her radical belief that the U.S. should ban fracking.

“Trump’s false claims about fracking bans are an obvious attempt to distract from his own plans to enrich oil and gas executives at the expense of the middle class,” Harris’ campaign said in a statement in July 2024.

“She would not ban fracking,” the campaign reaffirmed to Politico.

Harris, however, is on the record in 2019 during her first failed presidential run claiming that she is “in favor of banning fracking.”

17. Harris’ Team Falsely Claims J.D. Vance Endorsed Project 2025

Harris’ rapid response team used a 2021 “Federalist Radio Hour” clip to assert in July 2024 that Trump’s vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance supports Project 2025.

The podcast, however, was published in 2021, nearly a year before The Heritage Foundation launched the project in 2022.

16. Harris Denies Biden’s Obvious Decline

Harris spent months ahead of Biden’s disastrous debate performance and resignation from the 2024 presidential race reassuring Americans that her counterpart’s age did not affect his ability to govern.

“I’ll tell you, the reality of it is, and I’ve spent a lot of time with Biden, be it in the Oval Office, in the Situation Room and other places — he is extraordinarily smart. He has the ability to see around the corner in terms of what might be the challenges we face as a nation or globally,” Harris told ABC News in January.

Yet, Democrats’ coup-like candidate-replacement operation hinged on Biden’s obvious decline. One poll found that, of the 70 percent of voters who believe there was a cover-up of Biden’s decline, 92 percent believe Harris was complicit in the cover-up.

15. Harris Accuses Trump Of Trying To Cut Medicare, Social Security

Harris incorrectly claimed at a July 2024 American Federation of Teachers conference that “Trump and his allies want to cut Medicare and Social Security.”

Even partisan Politifact was forced to admit that Trump’s 2024 platform explicitly states that “under no circumstances should Republicans vote to cut a single penny from Medicare or Social Security.”

14. Harris Repeats ‘Book Ban’ Falsehoods

During her American Federation of Teachers address, Harris accused Republicans who want to keep sexually explicit content off of school and library shelves of attacking “the freedom to learn and acknowledge our nation’s true and full history, including book bans.”

“Book bans in this year of our Lord 2024,” she remarked.

In the context of taxpayer-funded classrooms, there is no such thing as “banned books.” The inappropriate stories Democrats claim are prohibited from circulation are still widely available to readers via publishers and booksellers.

13. Harris Allies Lie About Her Border Czar Appointment

After years of acknowledging and even praising Biden for naming Harris “border czar,” Harris’ allies in the White House and corporate media claimed in statements and fake fact-checks that she was never charged with overseeing the logistics of the record-breaking invasion.

Biden’s statements and the propaganda press’s fawning coverage of Harris, even as she did little to fulfill the role, however, prove that she was the “border czar” in their eyes until it wasn’t politically convenient for them anymore.

12. Harris Wrongfully Asserts NCAA Women’s Brackets Were Banned Until 2022

During the 2024 NCAA March Madness basketball tournament, Harris incorrectly claimed that female teams were excluded from brackets until 2022.

“OK, a bit of a history lesson — do you know that women were not, the women’s teams were not allowed to have brackets until 2022?” Harris told Spectrum News in April 2024. “Think about that, and … talk about progress, ya know, better late than never, but progress.”

While it’s true that the NCAA women’s tournament did not take on the March Madness branding until 2022, brackets for female competitors date back to the “early 1980s.”

Harris’ and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff’s social media accounts also directly contradict the VP’s claims by showing that the pair filled out women’s basketball brackets in 2021.

11. Harris Repeatedly Lies About Georgia Voting Law

During a March 2024 speech lamenting Republicans’ election integrity efforts, Harris inaccurately claimed that Georgia’s legislature passed a law banning water in poll lines.

“In Georgia, extremists passed a law to even make it illegal to give people food and water for standing in line to exercise their civic duty and right to vote,” Harris claimed.

Georgia’s election security law specifically bans political interest groups from using water to sway voters in line. Election workers are exempt from this restriction.

10. Harris Falsely Blames Republicans For Wisconsin Abortion Limit

“In this beautiful state of Wisconsin, after Roe was dismantled, extremists evoked a law from 1849 to stop abortion in this state,” Harris said at a Milwaukee rally in January 2024.

Even the fake fact-checkers at Politifact admitted that “Republican lawmakers didn’t have to lift a finger to put the 1849 provisions back into effect.” Instead, the overturn of Roe v. Wade sent the preexisting law through the court appeals system, in which the latest ruling claimed the 1849 law does not ban abortion.

9. Harris Fibs About Florida’s History Curriculum

“They want to replace history with lies,” Harris said at the Ritz Theatre and Museum in Jacksonville in July 2023. “Middle school students in Florida to be told that enslaved people benefited from slavery.” Harris had peddled the same lie the previous day in Indianapolis.

The curriculum standards, however, acknowledge that some former slaves used skills they acquired during their enslavement in the free world.

8. Worst VP In History Claims ‘Great’ Approval Ratings

Harris told ABC News’ Linsey Davis in July 2023 that some polls “say I have great approval ratings.”

The Democrat not only received the worst vice presidential rating in the history of modern polling, but her job approval at the time of the interview sat at 40.7 percent. Harris’ abysmal ratings have only continued, often ranking worse than Biden’s, and do not suggest that she’s up to the task of taking over the presidency.

7. Harris Lies About Bailing Out Violent Criminals

Harris told WCCO 4 News in October 2022 that claims she helped bail out the 2020 rioters who led the months-long, $2 billion siege of cities like Minneapolis were “misinformation.”

“People are playing political games right now. We’re 18 days away from midterms. And we have sadly not seen a lack of misinformation and disinformation, and I think this is another one of those examples,” the VP said.

Accused rapistsrepeat offenders, and rioters alike, however, benefitted when Harris encouraged her social media followers to donate to a bail fund dedicated to those arrested during the 2020 summer of rage.

6. Harris Claims Spending Sprees Won’t Raise Taxes

“As promised, we will not raise taxes on anyone making less than $400,000 a year,” Harris claimed in September 2022.

Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation, however, found that Democrats’ misnomered Inflation Reduction Act will do “nothing to bring the economy out of stagnation and recession, but … will raise billions of dollars in taxes on Americans making less than $400,000.”

5. Harris Repeats Election Security Falsehood

When Georgia Republicans sought to pass an election integrity bill that would fortify the state’s elections, Harris lamented, “Across our nation, anti-voter laws could make it more difficult for as many as 55 million Americans to vote,” Harris claimed in a January 2022 remarks at the Atlanta University Center Consortium. “That is one out of six people in our country.”

There is no evidence that election integrity laws like the one in Georgia discriminate against legitimate voters. In fact, experts say measures like voter ID make it “easier to vote and harder to cheat” via mass ballot harvesting.

4. Harris Knowingly Spread Border Patrol Whipping Lie

Harris claimed in 2021 that she saw “horrible” footage of Border Patrol agents whipping illegal border crossers.

“Human beings should never be treated that way, and I’m deeply troubled about it,” Harris said.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection investigation, however, later found no evidence that the horseback unit used their reins to strike migrants.

3. Harris Says ‘Almost Impossible’ For Rural Americans To Photocopy

While arguing against voter ID laws in an interview with BET News in 2021, Harris claimed that it’s “almost impossible” for rural Americans to make a photocopy.

Harris’ claim not only lacks evidence but is strongly contradicted by swaths of rural voters who found the comment insulting.

2. Harris Packages What Appears To Be A Popular MLK Story As Her Own

Harris loves to tell corporate media eager to boost her image a story about asking for “fweedom from her stroller at a civil rights march.

That supposed childhood memory, however, suspiciously resembles one Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. told Playboy in 1965.

1. Harris Claims Jussie Smollett’s Race Hoax Was A ‘Lynching’

Despite serious doubts and a lack of evidence that actor Jussie Smollett was truly attacked in 2019 by a pair of racist, MAGA-loving men who tried to hang him by a noose, Harris called the alleged incident an “attempted modern-day lynching.”

The so-called hate crime was, in fact, later found to be staged by Smollett. Harris, however, did not retract her support or “lynching” statement even after Smollett was found guilty of felony disorderly conduct and making false police reports.

RNC’s Whatley to Newsmax: ‘Massive Shifts’ in Minority Vote

Former President Donald Trump’s outreach to minority voters and willingness to take tough questions is starting to pay off, according to Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley on Newsmax.

“I think it’s terribly important that we have a former president who has done events in the Bronx, in downtown Philadelphia,” Whatley told “Newsline.” “He has been to Detroit, then he goes to this [National Association of Black Journalists] event in Chicago and takes the tough questions. You have to ask yourself, where was Kamala Harris? If there was ever an event for her, this would have been it and she was not there.’

“She will not talk to the press. She will not take any tough questions. Donald Trump is communicating directly to every American. He’s reaching out to every single community. And I think it’s going to pay off.

“We are starting to see already massive shifts in Hispanic voters and Black voters and Asian American voters that are coming from the Democratic Party and supporting Donald Trump 20 points higher than they did back in 2020, because he is listening to them and cares about the issues that they care about,” he added.

When asked why the national conversation pivots so often to the topic of race, Whatley said it is because “that’s what the Democratic Party wants to talk about” and “that’s what Kamala Harris wants to talk about.”

“What Donald Trump wants to talk about is how to make America better for every American family,” Whatley said. “How are we going to lift this economy up so that it can lift every family up? How are we going to protect our southern border? How are we going to shut down this immigrant invasion that we have seen coming across into Texas and Arizona?

“What is it that we’re going to do on the world stage? Under Donald Trump, China was in check, Russia was in check, and we didn’t have the attacks in the Middle East that we’re watching right now. The whole Middle East is really on fire. So, we want to get back to a strong America. I think the entire country does and those are the issues that the voters care about. So, that’s what we’re going to continue to talk about.”

Schumer Introduces Bill to Roll Back Supreme Court’s Presidential Immunity Ruling

DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer introduced a bill on Thursday intended to reverse the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity. The New York Democrat’s “No Kings Act” bill has more than two dozen Democratic co-sponsors and comes as a direct response to the Supreme Court’s Trump v. United States ruling, which found that presidents have immunity from prosecution for official acts taken in office, according to ABC News. The bill would clarify that it is Congress’ responsibility to determine who federal criminal law applies to, not the Supreme Court, according to NBC News.

President Joe Biden unveiled multiple proposals on Monday to reshape the Supreme Court, including a constitutional amendment to make it clear “no president is above the law or immune from prosecution for crimes committed while in office.”

He also proposed placing term limits on Supreme Court justices and called on Congress to pass a code of conduct for the justices.

Schumer said in a statement to NBC News that the Supreme Court’s ruling “threw out centuries of precedent and anointed Trump and subsequent presidents as kings above the law.”

“Given the dangerous and consequential implications of the Court’s ruling, legislation would be the fastest and most efficient method to correcting the grave precedent the Trump ruling presented,” Schumer said, according to NBC News. “With this glaring and partisan overreach, Congress has an obligation—and a constitutional authority—to act as a check and balance to the judicial branch.”

“We conclude that under our constitutional structure of separated powers, the nature of presidential power requires that a former president have some immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts during his tenure in office,” Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the July 1 decision.

In her dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor claimed the majority’s decision meant “the president is now a king above the law.”

Schumer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Former Attorney General Bill Barr did not improperly pressure prosecutors to reduce sentencing recommendations for political activist Roger Stone, according to a new government watchdog report. The exoneration of Barr came more than four years after a deluge of media reports alleging wrongdoing.

However, J.P. Cooney, a Justice Department official now serving as Special Counsel Jack Smith’s top deputy, cultivated a politically toxic environment, disseminated baseless conspiracy theories about Trump and his political appointees, and engaged in unprofessional conduct as he oversaw the team making sentencing recommendations, according to the same report.

Cooney is mentioned (as the “Fraud and Public Corruption Section Chief”) a whopping 394 times in the 85-page report released from the Justice Department’s inspector general on July 24. Cooney supervised a team of four attorneys who prosecuted Stone for what the government successfully argued in front of a Washington, D.C., jury were lies and obstruction during Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Trump campaign officials. Mueller’s two-year, $32 million investigation was itself spun up by anti-Trump officials in the Justice Department after the Democrat National Committee and Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton bought and paid for an information operation falsely alleging the Trump campaign was in cahoots with Russia to steal the 2016 election. Two members of Cooney’s team also worked on the Mueller investigation.

The Fraud and Public Corruption (FPC) team sought an unprecedented sentence of seven to nine years in prison for Stone, dramatically beyond what others convicted of similar crimes faced. When developing that sentencing goal, the team by its own admission thought the “closest analogue” to the Stone conviction was that of Scooter Libby, a target of a previous special counsel in a highly controversial prosecution. Libby’s proposed sentencing range was 30-37 months and he was sentenced to 30 months, which was derided as “excessive” by former President George W. Bush.

Yet the Cooney team larded up the Stone sentencing memo with every escalatory adjustment it could find, however disputable, to achieve a much harsher sentence and treat Stone differently than the Justice Department treats other defendants.

As soon as Cooney’s supervisors saw what he and his team had planned, “they all agreed that the sentencing recommendation was too high” and expressed grave concern about the situation. Interim U.S. Attorney Timothy Shea, who had started on the job just that week, said he “had never seen [perjury] cases produce a sentence that high, and that he was aware of many violent crimes that did not result in sentences ‘anywhere near’ the sentence the team was recommending for Stone,” according to the report. He noted that the escalatory adjustments were arguably made in error, in at least one case, and that the guidance was completely “out of whack” relative to other cases. Further, Stone was a “first-time offender, older than most offenders, and convicted of a nonviolent crime,” and “comparable cases” were sentenced around two to three years.

Cooney responded to the criticism of his extreme sentencing proposal by spreading an elaborate conspiracy theory with no supporting evidence that Trump, Barr, and Shea were being improperly political. Cooney admitted to investigators that “he had no information suggesting that anyone from Main Justice (i.e., DOJ leadership offices) was involved in the Stone sentencing at this time and no evidence pointing to improper motivations influencing these discussions” when he spread the conspiracy theory with his underlings.

In phone calls and other conversations with his prosecution team, Cooney spread his evidence-free conspiracy theory that “Shea was acting out of fear of then President Trump and, more particularly, fear of the consequences of not seeking a lower sentence for an influential friend of then President Trump.” He continued his conspiracy theories in other conversations. “Prosecutor 1 said that when he asked [Cooney] what was going on, [Cooney] replied that ‘this is coming from Main Justice. Tim Shea is getting pressure from Main Justice about the Stone sentencing recommendation, and Tim Shea is terrified of the President,’” according to the report. Cooney acknowledged he had no evidence to support these statements.

Another prosecutor said Cooney told him that “Shea did not care about Stone or the Stone case, but that Shea was ‘afraid of the President’ and that this fear was driving Shea’s actions,” according to the report. That same prosecutor said Cooney said multiple times that “Shea was afraid of the President and said it ‘with substantial conviction.’” Cooney later acknowledged he had no evidence to support his false claim.

At the same time, reporters began calling the Department of Justice to ask about the sentencing guideline dispute. That meant that at least one person within the department was getting information to reporters at left-wing media outlets to bully Trump appointees to acquiesce to their demands. Partisan bureaucrats had commonly used that tactic throughout the Trump presidency. While strict guidelines opposed unauthorized disclosures to the press, DOJ and FBI officials rarely bothered to investigate such leaks, much less hold employees accountable for them. In many cases, they were the worst offenders. For example, former FBI Director James Comey leaked to the media by disclosing information to an attorney who then passed the information on to The New York Times. The investigative report on the sentencing memos discusses how various DOJ employees denied leaking to the media while also noting they spoke about the sentencing controversy with other attorneys.

Unsurprisingly, the sentencing dispute became a major news story, with the perspective of Cooney’s team adopted by the recipients of the leaks. After the Justice Department issued a second sentencing guideline memo, the four prosecutors all removed themselves from the case and were lavished with praise by left-wing media outlets. Prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky went on to testify in front of Congress about the situation. His claims that the sentencing dispute was guided by politics were untrue, but investigators blamed Cooney for spreading the falsehoods.

The second sentencing memo did not call for a specific jail time but left it to the judge’s discretion. Judge Amy Berman Jackson agreed with the second sentencing memo and ordered Stone to serve 40 months in prison, many years fewer than Cooney’s team had aimed for. Trump commuted Stone’s sentence before he was taken into custody.

In its report, the Justice Department IG said that Cooney’s “speculative comments in meetings with the trial team about the political motivations” of Trump officials “in connection with their handling of the Stone sentencing contributed to an atmosphere of mistrust” that “unnecessarily further complicated an important decision in the case.” It further determined that his baseless comments to the trial team formed a substantial basis for Zelinsky’s explosive but wrong testimony to the House Judiciary Committee on June 24, 2020.

Cooney’s Checkered DOJ Record

Cooney’s track record at DOJ includes many other controversial political actions.

For example, one of the primary instigators of the Russia-collusion hoax was FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, now a CNN contributor. In April 2018, federal investigators issued a criminal referral for just some of the criminal leaks and lies he had engaged in while at the FBI. After sitting on a criminal referral for nearly two years, Cooney announced on Feb. 14, days after the Stone sentencing memo situation, that he had decided to let McCabe get away with the lies and the leaks.

Those who aren’t political allies of Cooney’s receive different treatment. Cooney prosecuted Steve Bannon in 2022 for a contempt of Congress charge related to him not complying with a subpoena from the controversial Jan. 6 Committee comprised exclusively of members hand-selected by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Bannon, who hosts the popular alternate media program “War Room,” is currently serving his four-month prison sentence. Civil libertarians are concerned about the Biden administration’s imprisonment of powerful media voices during the election season.

Incidentally, Attorney General Merrick Garland was found in contempt of Congress earlier this year for failing to comply with a subpoena from the House Judiciary Committee, which unlike the Jan. 6 Committee is a real committee with members appointed by both Republicans and Democrats, but the Department of Justice has not charged him.

Thwarting Election Integrity

After the extremely controversial 2020 election, Attorney General Barr issued a memorandum allowing the Department of Justice to investigate election irregularities if they were serious and substantiated. “While it is imperative that credible allegations be addressed in a timely and effective manner, it is equally imperative that Department personnel exercise appropriate caution and maintain the Department’s absolute commitment to fairness, neutrality and non-partisanship,” Barr wrote.

While many Americans would hope the Justice Department would investigate election irregularities in a timely fashion, particularly in an election as unprecedented as 2020, Democrat activists were livid. In response, Cooney cooked up a letter of outrage that quickly leaked to the media and helped shut down any meaningful investigations into the election. When The New York Times wrote about the letter, it was clear that Trump officials had already figured out Cooney’s mode of operating.

“On Thursday, [Cooney] said in an email sent to Mr. Barr via Richard P. Donoghue, an official in the deputy attorney general’s office, that the memo should be rescinded because it went against longstanding practices, according to two people with knowledge of the email,” The New York Times wrote. “In response, Mr. Donoghue told Mr. Cooney that he would pass on his complaint but that if it leaked to reporters, he would note that as well. Given that the email was born out of a concern for integrity, Mr. Donoghue said in his reply that he would assure officials ‘that I have a high degree of confidence that it will not be improperly leaked to the media.’”

Somehow the letter simultaneously made it to Cooney’s political allies at left-wing media outlets.

Rabid Pursuit of Trump

Weeks after President Joe Biden was inaugurated, Cooney was still stinging over not being able to put Stone in prison for nearly 10 years. He cooked up a plan, which appeared in The Washington Post and New York Times, to once again go after Roger Stone and other Trump associates in a new Jan. 6-related investigation.

His supervisors noted, “Cooney did not provide evidence that Stone had likely committed a crime — the standard they considered appropriate for looking at a political figure.” Further, his investigative plans were “treading on First Amendment-protected activities.” Nevertheless, he continued pursuing various plans to target Trump affiliates, and the U.S. attorney’s office began pursuing investigations along the lines of what Cooney had proposed, according to reporting.

President Biden and corporate media continued to pressure the Department of Justice and Garland to go after former President Donald Trump, who was widely expected to become Biden’s 2024 opponent. The famously conflict-averse Garland finally relented and put together a special counsel team heavily focused on Cooney and his extreme theories.

Democrat activists have cheered the special counsel for its aggressive actions against Trump, including a shocking raid on his Mar-a-Lago home, exhaustive investigations into communications and finances of Trump and many of his associates, and relentless pushes for courts to rush judgments ahead of the November elections.

Cooney and Smith’s approach has been less successful outside Democrat conversations. “It’s almost hard to believe how comprehensively the hubris and zealotry of anti-Donald Trump lawfare have blown up in their practitioners’ faces,” wrote The Washington Post’s Jason Willick after one major defeat. “Not only did the Supreme Court’s Monday ruling in Trump v. United States create new and enduring presidential immunities against criminal prosecution, but it also eviscerated the fiction of an ‘independent’ Justice Department and even inadvertently threw the validity of Trump’s New York hush money conviction into question.”

Left-wing media outlets such as Talking Points Memo have praised Cooney, noting that he was a partisan activist in college. Cooney, who was president of the College Democrats at Notre Dame University, wrote a column in the school newspaper that regularly praised President Bill Clinton and criticized Independent Counsel Ken Starr and his investigation of Clinton. Cooney once wrote of Starr as a “partisan political hit-man” for investigating Clinton and complained about the $30 million price tag of the investigation. He lamented the country’s “insatiable craving for controversy and scandal” regarding Clinton and worried it would destroy the country.

By The Way, Kamala Harris Is A Dangerous Authoritarian

With some hard work, pluck, the right boyfriend, and a bit of genetic luck, Kamala Harris has found her way onto the presidential ballot without having to secure a single primary vote. Don’t tell me the American Dream is dead.

Sure, Harris is a demagogue who speaks in cringy, swirling, impenetrable platitudes. And sure, according to Joe Biden, Kamala was an identity hire. But “Morning Joe” says we’re not supposed to talk about any of that. So, let’s discuss her record and stated positions.

It seems like a lifetime ago that Biden named Harris his running mate. What you may not recall is that the media tried to gaslight us into believing the California senator was another apolitical dealmaker.

Former Clinton fixer George Stephanopoulos said Harris was “the middle-of-the-road, moderate wing of the Democratic Party.” The New York Times called her a “pragmatic moderate,” while the Associated Press focused on her “centrist record.” And so on.

A “small c conservative,” one Washington Post columnist wrote. The only problem was, according to GovTrack, Harris’ record in the Senate was to the left of red-diaper baby Bernie Sanders. She was least likely of any senator to join in any bipartisan bills.

That’s fine. Bipartisan bills are the pits. Harris wasn’t handed a Senate seat by her former beau and California political kingpin Willie Brown to waste her time legislating with a bunch of pinheads. She was there to run for the presidency. In her truncated first term, few excelled more at smearing their political opponents. Remember when Harris moderately accused Brett Kavanaugh of gang rape?

This false perception of moderation stems from Harris’ time as prosecutor and AG. Harris liked to brag about using “a huge stick” as a prosecutor in San Francisco, where she regularly threatened poor parents with jail time in her efforts to craft social policy — which wasn’t her job. It’s true that Harris threw a lot of people in jail to bolster her political fortunes. Some of them likely innocent. And judging from her disposition, she would throw a lot of more people into jail, if she could.

When pro-life journalist David Daleiden published videos of Planned Parenthood executives nonchalantly discussing the selling of body parts, Harris had his home raided, seized evidence, and then tried to throw him in prison. She later teamed up with the abortion mill to write legislation that would squash the free speech rights of other pro-lifers.

Like any good authoritarian, Harris enforces whatever laws she sees fit to enforce whenever she sees fit. One of the reasons Kamala allegedly opposed the nomination of Neil Gorsuch was that the judge “consistently valued legalisms” — which is to say, respected the Constitution — “over real lives.”

Kamala was never one for legalism. When candidate Biden argued that Harris’ promise to issue an executive order unilaterally banning access to certain guns would be unconstitutional, she retorted: “I would just say: Hey, Joe, instead of saying ‘No we can’t,’ let’s say yes, we can,’” before cackling at the very notion that presidents couldn’t do whatever they wanted.

As a national candidate, Kamala said she believed immigration laws should be treated as civil, rather than criminal, offenses. So, of course, Biden gave Kamala the job of border czar — she did not perform admirably, to say the least — where she noted that one of the “root causes” of the problem was a “lack of climate resilience,” before sending corrupt regimes hundreds of millions of dollars.

As a candidate, Harris supported abolishing private health insurance — “Let’s eliminate all of that. Let’s move on,” she told CNN. In addition to nationalizing health care and education, Kamala wants the government to control the manufacturing sector, the auto industry, food … and any industry that emits carbon.

Harris was in favor of getting rid of the filibuster to overturn state voting laws, nationalizing abortion on demand until birth, and passing the Green New Deal — an authoritarian takeover of the economy written by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, which would not only ban all fossil fuels force Americans to retrofit every building in in the country, eliminate air travel and meat, create government-guaranteed jobs, among many other authoritarian measures.

Perhaps the only thing that grosses out the vice president more than individual rights are practicing Catholics.

Kamala is the kind of person who will raise money to bail out race rioters out of prison but try to stop orthodox Catholics from serving on the bench. “Are you or have you ever been a member of the Knights of Columbus?” is basically what Kamala asked Brian Buescher, a Trump judicial nominee.

It wasn’t a big jump for a senator who treats charitable Christian organizations as fifth columnists to co-sponsor of the “Equality Act,” which would have compelled religious hospitals to perform gender transition surgeries and shut down religious foster care organizations, among other things.

On foreign policy, we don’t really know, though we can guess. This week, Harris wouldn’t even greet Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of the only liberal democracy in the Middle East. She reportedly won’t sit behind him during his speech to Congress. A few weeks ago, the same Kamala said antisemitic pro-Hamas campus protesters showed “exactly what the human emotion should be.” In the past she has openly protested with Islamic Republic propagandists from the National Iranian American Council. To be fair, in some ways her disposition comports more with the latter than the former.

When I say Harris is an authoritarian, I’m not contending she’s Hitler. I am saying she is a fan of obedience to authority, especially of Democrat-run government, at the expense of personal freedom in ways that are deeply un-American. That’s a bad trend in politics, in general, but it’s difficult to think of many politicians more wedded to the idea than Kamala Harris.

Reuters/Ipsos Poll: Harris Leads Trump By 2 Points

Vice President Kamala Harris opened up a marginal lead of 2% over Republican Donald Trump after President Joe Biden ended his reelection campaign and passed the torch to her, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found. The poll, conducted Monday and Tuesday, followed the Republican National Convention where Trump on Thursday formally accepted his party’s nomination and the Biden announcement on Sunday that he was leaving the race and endorsing Harris.

Harris, whose campaign says she has secured the Democrat nomination, led Trump 44% to 42% in the national poll, a difference within the margin of error of 3 percentage points.

Harris and Trump were tied at 44% in a July 15-16 poll, and Trump led by one percentage point in a July 1-2 poll, both within the same margin of error. While nationwide surveys give important signals of American support for political candidates, just a handful of competitive states typically tilt the balance in the Electoral College, which ultimately decides who wins a presidential election.

The most recent poll showed 56% of registered voters agreed with a statement that Harris, 59, was “mentally sharp and able to deal with challenges,” compared to 49% who said the same of Trump, 78.

Only 22% of voters assessed Biden that way. Biden, 81, ended his reelection effort after a debate with Trump in which he often stammered and failed to aggressively challenge attacks by Trump.

When voters in the survey were shown a hypothetical ballot that included independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Harris led Trump 42% to 38%, an advantage outside the margin of error. Kennedy, favored by 8% of voters in the poll, has yet to qualify for the ballot in many states ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

The poll, which was conducted online, surveyed 1,241 adults nationwide, including 1,018 registered voters.

Was Donald Trump the Victim of White Privilege? A Democratic Member Wants to Know

By: Jonathan Turley | July 23, 2024

For most of us, this election could not become more confusing. However, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., Tx.) may have added a whole new level of confusion for many in suggesting that Donald Trump may have been the latest victim of systemic racism among law enforcement in the United States.

Trump previously cited his alleged abuse in the criminal justice system as a point of shared experience with some in the black community. Crockett, however, seems to be willing to go further in suggesting that he may be the latest victim of a racist law enforcement system.

In the hearing with Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, the failure to stop and hold Thomas Crooks was raised by both parties in an unprecedented failure of security. Crockett then got her chance and suggested that Trump may have come close to dying at the hands of white privilege.

“I want to talk about training and the fact that there was a little bit of confusion between this suspicious person, and this perceived threat situation, and it seems like a different analysis is being done. One of my questions is what training your officers are getting on bias.

I’ve learned over and over again, dealing with law enforcement, that there’s generally no perception of threat when it’s a young white male, even if he’s carrying a long gun. Yet a lot of times, at least in this country, when it comes to law enforcement, there’s a perception of threat simply because a person has a little bit more melanin in their skin.

…Often times, one of the things that we’ve consistently advocated for on my side — and when I say my side, I mean when we’re faced with a tragedy where law enforcement has made a mistake — is bias training and whether or not our officers are getting it. So I’m curious, in some of the training that you’re talking about that’s part of your budget, is bias training part of it?”

Cheatle responded with “Yes, that’s true.” (An apparent response to the training element).

Notably, Crockett began by getting Cheatle to acknowledge that this was not a failure due to DEI, or Diversity Equity and Inclusion, policies. She then suggested that further DEI training may be needed in light of the assassination attempt.

To be clear, there is no evidence that Crooks was allowed to walk away after being spotted with a “long gun.” The current theory is that Crooks hid the gun before the event.

Moreover, he was identified as a possible threat due to being found with a golf range finder. However, that was not considered a barred or threatening device by the Secret Service.

Yet, Trump may find common ground here with Vice President Kamala Harris who has long maintained that “We do have two systems of justice” and has added:

“I don’t think that most reasonable people who are paying attention to the facts would dispute that there are racial disparities and a system that has engaged in racism in terms of how the laws have been enforced. It does us no good to deny that. Let’s just deal with it. Let’s be honest. These might be difficult conversations for some, but they’re not difficult conversations for leaders, not for real leaders.”

Trump may be willing to have the “difficult conversation” as the now purported victim of white privilege in the dismissal of would-be presidential assassins.

How Biden Undercut His Own ‘Threat to Democracy‘ Rhetoric About Trump

Conservative pundit Michael Knowles says that President Joe Biden demolished his own plan to brand former President Donald Trump as a “threat to democracy” after the assassination attempt on the Republican presidential nominee.

“What the near-assassination of Trump did is, it took all the wind out of the sails of the Biden campaign,” Knowles said in an interview at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee with Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts

Knowles, a Daily Wire host, pointed to the fact that Biden publicly said he was thankful Trump survived the shooting, which injured the former president and two rallygoers and killed a third.

Biden’s reelection bid “is premised entirely on the lie that Trump represents an existential threat to democracy, that Trump admires Hitler, that he is, in some way, the second coming of Hitler, and his political project is an existential threat to our sacred democracy and the Constitution and the country,” Knowles said mockingly on “The Kevin Roberts Show” podcast.

“The moment Biden said, ‘I’m so grateful that Trump is OK,’ he admitted that was all a lie,” Knowles explained. “You wouldn’t be happy that Hitler was OK. You wouldn’t be happy that the existential threat to your country [was] OK. So, that campaign went away.”

J.D. Vance Appeals to the ‘Cast Aside and Forgotten’ In RNC Speech

MILWAUKEE — The man who would be vice president formally introduced himself to a jubilant Republican National Convention on Wednesday evening in Wisconsin — and to voters nationwide. And he had a very compelling story to tell.

Sen. James David “J.D.” Vance, R-Ohio, former President Donald Trump’s freshly minted running mate, accepted the nomination and addressed his fellow Republicans, his fellow Americans. What many heard was a guy who, despite being a millennial millionaire, shares an all-too-common upbringing in impoverished rural America. Vance, the author of the best-selling Hillbilly Elegy, literally wrote the book on it.

At 39, Vance is one of the youngest vice presidential candidates in American history, nearly 40 years Trump’s junior. The significant age spread is by design in an election year where, once again, two elderly men — at least at the moment — are the major party standard bearers on the ballot.

From Humble Beginnings

By many measures, Vance is the epitome of the American Dream. He grew up in poverty, a “family tradition” in rust-belt Middletown, Ohio, and in the Appalachian region of eastern Kentucky. The son of a drug-addicted mother and a father who left him, Vance, as they say, rose above his circumstances. He went to college on the G.I. Bill after serving in the Marines and the Iraq War. He earned his law degree from Yale and made a very comfortable living in venture capital. Vance’s bleak memoir was made into a movie in 2020, a couple of years before his successful Senate run.

“Never in my wildest imagination could I have believed that I would be standing here tonight,” Vance told the thousands of conventiongoers assembled at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum and the millions more watching across the country.

God and Mamaw

While his parents were absent from much of his childhood, Vance said he had God.

And Mamaw.

The senator’s “guardian angel” grandmother raised him. She was tough as nails, Vance said, a Christian woman who loved the Lord nearly as much as she loved the “F word.” Mamaw once told her grandson that if she ever caught him again hanging out with a kid who was a notorious drug dealer in town, she’d run the boy over with her car.

“And she said, J.D., no one would ever find out about it,” Vance recalled. The convention hall erupted in laughter, then echoed with a chant of “Mamaw.” The GOPers love them some Mamaw. They seemed pretty taken by her successful grandson too.

The Republican vice-presidential candidate said he made it out of the generational poverty that has trapped so many of his family and friends. He escaped through hard work, with the help of his guardian angel, and by the grace of God, Vance said. Every now and then, he said, he’ll get a call from a relative back home asking if he remembered this person or that. As a face in time fills his mind, Vance said he’s often told that the old neighbor or schoolmate has died of a drug overdose.

‘Failed and Failed’

“As usual, America’s ruling class wrote the check. Communities like mine paid the price,” he said. He then took aim at the members of said ruling class — Democrats and Republicans — who have over the last generation-plus enriched themselves while average Americans have suffered. The people on the list of D.C. elites include Republican President George W. Bush and Democrat Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden. None more, Vance stressed, than career politician Biden, hungry for another term in a rematch with Trump.

“For decades, that divide between the few — with their power and comfort in Washington — and the rest of us only widened. From Iraq to Afghanistan, from the financial crisis to the Great Recession, from open borders to stagnating wages, the people who governed this country have failed and failed again,” he said.

There is, of course, according to Vance, one exception to the governing class rule: businessman Donald Trump, who in 2016 ran on nothing short of a revolution to “drain the swamp.” Vance wasn’t on board the Trump train then, blasting Trump as “reprehensible” during his first run. Vance has had a change of heart since those early days, becoming one of the more ardent defenders of Trump’s vision of “making America Great Again.” Biden’s curious victory in 2020 put the MAGA agenda on hold. Trump’s new running mate sounds like he is champing at the bit to help the former president bring it back and make the case, particularly in the critical swing states, for a return to Trumpenomics and homeland sanity.

“It’s about the auto worker in Michigan, wondering why out-of-touch politicians are destroying your jobs,” Vance said. “It’s about the factory worker in Wisconsin, who makes things with their hands and is proud of American craftsmanship.”

“It’s about the energy worker in Pennsylvania and Ohio who doesn’t understand why Joe Biden is willing to buy energy from tinpot dictators across the world when he could buy it from his own citizens right here in our own country,” Vance hammered.

Trump’s running mate wasn’t simply speaking to the party; he was attempting to connect with what he called the “cast aside and forgotten.” In the tradition of Trump.

The Federalist’s Mark Hemingway, also covering the convention with wife and Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway, told me in a “Federalist Radio Hour” podcast that the GOP establishment types aren’t happy with the Vance VP pick, a good sign Trump made the right call.

Meanwhile, Democrats and their corporate media public-relations firms have spent the past couple of days trying to diminish Trump’s lieutenant, as the corporate media are wont to do. The Atlantic’s Stuart Stevens lamented Ohio transforming from a swing state to a dependable red. He decried the Buckeye State’s abandonment of weak-kneed RINOs for Trumpicans like Vance.

“But don’t make the mistake of thinking this transformation was the result of a hostile takeover; that implies there was a fight. The truth is that the old guard surrendered to forces contrary to what it had espoused as lifelong values,” Stevens whined

The old guard, Vance tried to convey to voters, is part of why this republic is in so much trouble.

‘The American Story’

David Arredondo, former chairman of the Lorain County Republican Party, part of the Cleveland metropolitan area, told me Vance brings pluses and minuses to the ticket, but a lot more positives than negatives.

“He checks all the boxes,” Arredondo said. Vance is young and a veteran. And Vance’s experience with poverty and family drug addiction, Arredondo said, makes him relatable to voters billionaire Trump needs to win the election.

“It’s the American story of the person who started from nothing and became great,” he said.

David Arredondo, former chairman of the Lorain County Republican Party

As the former county GOP chairman noted, Vance won a lot of Ohio hearts and minds following the devastating train derailment in East Palestine in early 2023. He was there. So was Trump, handing out bottled water and standing with a broken community as Biden and his competence-challenged transportation secretary, Pete Buttigieg, were slow to show up to the conservative-leaning community near the border of Pennsylvania. Biden waited a year. He was not well received.

“Vance’s quick response to the train derailment and advocacy for local residents landed him in the spotlight and earned him a front row seat in the news for months. Trump joined Vance and other Ohio lawmakers on Feb. 22, 2023, to shake the hands of local residents and distribute water, food and other supplies to those desperately in need of necessities,” Fox News reported shortly after Trump announced Vance as his second-in-command.

Vance closed with a vow to the “cast aside and forgotten.”

“To the people of Middletown, Ohio, and all the forgotten communities in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, and every corner of our nation, I promise you this: I will be a vice president who never forgets where he came from,” he said.

“They Lie and People Die”: Carnegie Mellon Professor Claims Trump Assassination Attempt was “Staged”

By: Jonathan Turley | July 18, 2024

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2024/07/18/they-lie-and-people-die-carnegie-mellon-professor-claims-trump-assassination-attempt-was-staged/

Carnegie Mellon University Professor Uju Anya has joined the ranks of academics spreading the conspiracy theory that the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was “staged.” As for the killing and wounding of bystanders, Anya explained that “that’s exactly what they do.” We previously discussed other academics who have spread this conspiracy theory. However, few are willing to go as far as Professor Anya in explaining how the other victims were used to make the staging more plausible. Anya declared:

“It was staged. Like a stupid Tubi movie set in the Bronx with palm trees in the background. They lie, and people die. That’s exactly what they do

…That’s the record. Whatever ‘attack’ on him they set up to stoke his followers’ fears and sentiments threat and persecution has now cost lives.

…And people died behind this farce. Actual people’s lives gone for them to stage this stupid show. People dying doesn’t make the attack any less staged. Someone who thought the attack was real could’ve killed others trying to prevent harm. Also, someone could’ve shot the shooter to hide the plot.”

The faculty bio states that Anya is an Associate Professor of Second Language Acquisition. She describes herself as

“a scholar of language learning and Black experiences in multilingualism. My primary fields of

inquiry are critical applied linguistics, critical sociolinguistics and critical discourse studies examining race, gender, sexual and social class identities in new language learning through the multilingual journeys of African American students.”

Likewise, in a now since-deleted Threads posting, Professor of Psychology at San Diego Mesa College Inna Kanevsky also fueled the baseless conspiracy theory. She posted

“‘He took a bullet for his country!’ No, he didn’t. He took it, like everything else he

took and keeps taking, for himself. For his own personal aggrandizement.”

Professor Anya has long been a controversial figure including her wish that Queen Elizabeth would die a long “excruciating” death. She later doubled down on the hateful statements.

She also tweeted out crude remarks about the 2022 elections: “contrary to all these major media outlets, the red wave coming is my period on Friday.”

So, these and other faculty believe that Trump enlisted a kid who was thrown out of his high school shooting club as a bad shot to wing him at 130 yards from a sloped position. The conspiracists also decided to kill or wound some supporters to make the staging look real. In our age of rage, this all makes sense to these professors.

I agree with Professor Anya that such political statements are protected speech. However, her unhinged and hateful commentary exposes the radicalism of many faculty in higher education today.
