Reporters had a meltdown on Tuesday when a State Department spokesperson declared that Israel has a right to defend itself from the recent brutal terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas.

The terrorist organization has reportedly killed more than 1,000 people, including women and children. Another 150 people are believed to have been taken hostage by the group.

Department spokesperson Matthew Miller held a press conference on Tuesday expressing condolences for the families with loved ones killed by Hamas over the weekend, including 14 American citizens.

Following his opening remarks, Miller opened the floor to field reporters’ questions but was shocked by some of the inquiries, which he claimed seemed to disregard Israel’s right to defend itself from terror attacks.

Said Arikat, a reporter for the Palestinian media outlet Al-Quds, asked Miller, “The president has said that Hamas is motivated — and I’m paraphrasing — motivated solely by the quest to kill Jews. Do you believe that is to be the case? Is it the assessment of this government that Hamas’ sole motivation is to go out and kill Jews? There’s no context; there’s no siege that has gone on for 16 years? There is no raid after raid by the Israelis?”

Miller responded, “Said, I am just going to say that is a bit of a surprising question after what we saw a Hamas carry out this weekend, when we saw Hamas go in and deliberately target Israeli citizens — and not just soldiers in the [Israel Defense Forces] but women, children, kidnapped them.”

The State Department spokesperson noted that Hamas is “behaving in the most inhumane way possible.”

Said attempted to interrupt Miller several times, but the State Department spokesperson ignored the reporter and moved on to others’ inquiries.

Reporter Max Blumenthal with the Grayzone News pressed Miller on the strong language used by Israeli leaders regarding potential counterstrike plans.

Miller stated that Israel is expected to follow international law and added that the Biden administration is likely to disagree with some comments made by Israeli leadership but plans to “make those known privately.”

Blumenthal snapped back, noting that the administration has made public comments previously.

“Some of the questions I’m getting today do seem to ignore the fact that Israel just had hundreds of its citizens killed, people who were taken hostage, and pretend that Israel shouldn’t be able to conduct any kind of —” Miller retorted.

Blumenthal repeatedly shouted over Miller, asking him to acknowledge the deaths of Palestinian children. Journalist Sam Husseini also shouted over the State Department spokesperson.

At one point, Miller was asked, “So baby killing is okay here?”

“And I will say, ultimately, the Hamas terrorists who launched these operations — there is no one who has more disregard for Palestinian civilian life than those terrorists,” Miller continued. “Those terrorists launched this activity knowing that there would be retaliation, knowing that Israel would have to defend itself, as any country did, knowing that it would lead to the unfortunate loss of civilian lives by their — by Palestinians, and they did anyway.”

Terry Schilling Op-ed: When it comes to wokeism, media come up with most fanciful theory of all

Terry Schilling  By Terry Schilling Fox News | Published October 3, 2023 7:18am EDT

Read more at https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/when-comes-wokeism-media-come-up-most-fanciful-theory-all

The past, they say, is a foreign country. But for political pundits, so is the present. This is the only way to explain the ludicrous theories that lately litter the opinion pages of The New York Times or come falling out of the mouths of sober political analysts on the nightly news. When it comes to judging the Republican electorate, commentators are even further out of their depth and no topic confuses the chattering classes more than “wokeism.”

Pundits struggle to understand what wokeism even means. They insist it’s not happening, before turning around and insisting with equal vigor that whatever is happening is good. Then they dismiss anyone who opposes it as both a quixotic crusader and a dangerous menace.

But now they’ve come up with the most fanciful theory of all: the backlash against wokeism in schools is ending. They imagine Republicans don’t even care about wokeism, that the issue is dying away, and that we can steer clear of the vexing topic altogether. They assert that GOP leaders will go back to talking about the deficit or some other mundane topic and leave the “experts” to worry about what their children are learning.

This — seriously — is the conclusion of a number of columns over the past month, from The New York Times, Business Insider, and Vox, to name just a few. All argue that, as Vox puts it, “Republican voters don’t really care for the war on woke.” Voters are tired, they claim, of hearing about gender, race, schools, and everything in between.

TEACHERS UNION INSTRUCTS EDUCATORS TO DESTROY DOCUMENTS OF STUDENTS’ GENDER IDENTITIES

They base this theory on a number of facts. First, they point out, the word “woke” has barely come up in the Republican presidential debates. Second, Ron DeSantis — in their minds the icon of the GOP anti-woke crusade — is not leading the race for the nomination, and, in addition, nobody since Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin has ridden anti-woke sentiment into office. Third, they say, polling shows Republicans would rather have a candidate who focuses on something else, like crime or the economy, than one who solely focuses on defeating wokeism in schools.

This is wish-casting. Let’s take the arguments in reverse order.

Video

If there is any conclusion to be drawn from recent polling on culture-war issues, it’s that Americans broadly — and not just Republicans — are opposed to the left’s ideological agenda. They oppose allowing gender transitions for minors by a margin of between 17 points and 37 points. They think the rising rates of transgender identification among minors is a problem (63%), as is wokeness (60%), too much of a focus on race in schools (75%), boys playing girls’ sports in public schools (81%), schools indoctrinating kids with liberal ideas (58%), parents not having enough say over the curriculum (80%), and overly accommodating transgender policies in schools (74%). Similar opinions prevail on just about every related issue.

But, the pundits respond, those polls also show voters, including Republicans, rank the economy as a top concern above social issues. And, if forced to choose, Republican voters would prefer a candidate focused on law and order than one who prioritizes fighting wokeism.

LAURA ZORC: THE RISE OF MILLENNIAL PARENTS

However, to leap from this to the idea that voters don’t care about wokeism, or don’t care very much, is absurd. Republicans interviewed by The New York Times were quick to point out that the choice is a false one — they want candidates who are anti-anarchy and anti-woke. Moreover, if being ranked as less of a concern than the economy means that an issue doesn’t matter, that implicates other issues also, such as abortion. Perhaps someone should tell Democrats the backlash to the Dobbs decision is over!

Next, the pundits opine that DeSantis’ campaign hasn’t resonated because his anti-woke message is a turnoff. But this explanation fails to account for the candidate overwhelmingly leading the race: Donald Trump. Since launching his campaign, Trump has promised to ban gender transitions for minors, defund doctors and hospitals who perform them, investigate any school that promotes gender ideology, and establish that there are only two genders, determined at birth, in law. These issues have regularly featured in his rallies and speeches. Clearly, Republican voters aren’t being alienated by them.

And as for the fact that the word “woke” hasn’t been mentioned very much in the GOP debates, that may be true enough, but the word itself is not at issue. The candidates spent significant time discussing the actual substance — enough time for it to qualify as a top-four issue in both debates. Candidates went out of their way to address school indoctrination, parents’ rights and gender issues, in some cases very passionately. That these topics did not feature as prominently as others had far more to do with the preferences of the moderators than those of the candidates, or voters.

Indeed, the weakness of the pundits’ anti-anti-woke argument says more about the punditry’s own preferences than anything else. Unfortunately for them however, even Republican politicians are not, it appears, stupid enough to suddenly stop campaigning on issues on which they have a significant advantage in popular opinion. Although the commentariat may not like the culture wars, they are undoubtedly here to stay.

South Carolina Republican demands mainstream media cover ‘open’ border crisis that ‘nobody can deny’

Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., clashed with CNN host Jim Acosta on Sunday over the border crisis, with the GOP lawmaker arguing that “CNN should report what’s going on.”

Acosta repeatedly asked Norman how Republicans planned to secure the border if there is a government shutdown and said, “I guess I don’t understand that.”

“We’re going to have to force — the public is going to have to force this Biden Administration to let the border patrol agents do their job, to get the wall built, have designated points of entry. And this administration is not doing it. They’re doing it intentionally. And whether you agree with it or not, they’re doing it for power. Why are they giving Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses?” the congressman responded.

Acosta pushed back and demanded proof of his argument before saying, “it sounds like you’re just throwing rhetoric around.”

“Have you been to the border?” Norman asked Acosta.

Acosta responded, “Of course I have.”

“Have you seen what’s going on, the rapes, it’s open. Nobody can deny that,” Norman continued.
“I’ll ask the questions, sir. And the border is not open. That is something that is peddled as a talking point, but it’s not true. There are fences. There are walls. There are border patrol agents who work on the border,” Acosta said.

Migrant encounters at the southern border soared past the 200,000 mark in August, hitting a new high for the calendar year and marking the highest August on record. Norman insisted border patrol agents were frustrated, challenging Acosta to ask “anyone down there.”

“You have not been able to answer my question as to how you effectively do border enforcement if you’re shutting down the government. But I guess we’re not going to get an answer to that question. Right? I mean, if you shut down the government, Saturday rolls around, you’re going to have border patrol agents who are going to be without pay. How are they going to want to go out there and do border patrol enforcement if they’re not getting paid? It sounds like an effective way of running the government,” Acosta said.

The CNN host also said that the former president’s border wall was never built.

“Jim, look, those are your talking points. He did build a wall. He couldn’t finish it because Joe Biden stopped him when he unfortunately went into office. And steel is laying on the ground, paying subcontractors. It’s a national security problem,” Norman said. “CNN should report what’s going on.”

“We are down there at the border all the time reporting on what’s taking it place. We’re doing it every day,” Acosta responded.

Carol Roth Op-ed: While you struggle with inflation, smug elites say, ‘Let them eat cake!’

The August CPI numbers were even hotter than the economic consensus expected (up 0.6% for the month, the biggest monthly increase of the year), showing inflation to be a persistent issue for Americans.

Regardless of the reported figures, which we know have been manipulated formulaically several times since the 1980s, Americans are struggling with food, housing, gas and other energy costs, and the general cost of living. The concerns are real and they are valid – perhaps except to those who run in elite circles. From Nobel Prize-winning economists to college professors pulling down six-figure salaries, while you grapple with the price of groceries, they say, “Let them eat cake.” Americans are struggling with food, housing, gas and other energy costs, and the general cost of living. (istock)

Take New York Times economist Paul Krugman. He has been flummoxed by the average American’s response to inflation. Looking through his academic lens, he has been posting on social media about his apparent confusion on why voters aren’t absolutely thrilled with the economy.

INFLATION ACCELERATED IN AUGUST TO 3.7% AS CONSUMER PRICES HEAT UP AGAIN

One such thread on X (formerly Twitter) included the following, “Many people trying to explain away voters’ perception that inflation is rising amid a historic decline by saying that people are actually talking about the level of prices, not the rate of change… it’s possible that voters are less sophisticated than they were 40 years ago; or maybe they live in an information environment that feeds false perceptions.”

Looking through the lens of the people trying to pay their bills is apparently out of his grasp. In his eyes, and the eyes of the elite, your sophistication level is the problem.

Video

The analogy that I have used before relates to weight. Imaging that you have had relatively steady body weight over time. Then, one year you gain 10 pounds. The following year you gain 3.5 pounds. In Paul Krugman’s world, you should be thrilled because the growth in your weight gain has slowed! In your reality, you are up 13.5 pounds and can’t fit in your pants anymore. Even if you gain two pounds the next year and settle in at two pounds per year, you will soon end up obese. Krugman wants to know why you aren’t celebrating this.

Other smug academics and pundits have also tried to use cherry-picked charts and statistics to thumb their noses at the Americans who they believe are too stupid to assess their own economic reality.

Video

Americans have experienced inflation that hasn’t been seen in four decades. This, which has occurred as a direct result from a combination of monetary, fiscal and other government policies, has had an enormous impact on families around the country, particularly as wages haven’t been able to keep pace during this period.

TOP WH ENERGY ADVISER’S PREDICTION COMES BACK TO HAUNT AS GAS, OIL PRICES SKYROCKET

Credit card balances have surpassed the historic $1 trillion level. The personal saving rate has fallen to 3.5% as of July, a rate well below historical averages. Credit card and auto loan defaults have reached levels not seen in a decade. More wealth is getting consolidated in the hands of the wealthiest.

So, while the wealthy (and the government) may be propping up the average economic numbers, for most Americans, inflation has been a substantial financial burden to bear.

Video

It used to be that those elite would at least acknowledge this. Back in 2008, when Fed Chair Ben Bernanke testified in front of the House Financial Services committee, Congressman Ron Paul said inflation was a tax. Bernanke himself agreed, repeating that inflation was a tax.

Now the economists, academics and media are fully entrenched in the elite inner circle. These are the same people who said just a couple of years ago that there would be no inflation, low inflation was the actual problem, then that inflation would be transitory, then that inflation was good for you and so on.

Their lack of empathy for the average American shouldn’t be a surprise, but it is the kind of attitude known to beget revolutions.

Video

Today, while you deal with a real financial issue caused by entities that get no blame, you are also called the equivalent of stupid in the process by their hype-men. The Federal Reserve and the government have worked together to legally plunder your wealth. They have extracted wealth from Main Street and transferred it to Wall Street. They have put your American Dream at risk, they have not acknowledged their mistakes and they have no plans to address any of the foundational issues, from bad energy policy to outrageous debts and deficits, that would fix our foundational economic issues over the long term.

I have said many times that Fed and government policy have been the biggest drivers of non-merit based inequality. Legendary investor Stan Druckenmiller has taken that a step further. It was reported that Druckenmiller said in a 2021 speech, “I don’t think there has been any greater engine of inequality than the Federal Reserve Bank of the United States the last 11 years.”

Video

Even 10 years ago, he warned that the Fed’s QE policy “is the biggest redistribution of wealth from the middle class and the poor to the rich ever.” The wealthy have gotten wealthier and the rest of America has gotten screwed over, and then the elite continue to kick them while they are down.

When the people who are struggling to afford their daily “bread” are told the equivalent of “Let them eat cake,” it’s a signal that major change is needed. Let’s hope we get that change soon and peacefully.

Leftist media desperately bury Biden scandals and think they can get away with it

The leftist “news” media – NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times – continue their conspiracy of silence on blockbuster evidence of President Joe Biden’s corruption, determined to see, hear, and report no evil about the Democratic administration.

An internal FBI document provides convincing evidence that Joe Biden – then the sitting vice president of the United States – along with his son Hunter – extorted $5 million for each of them from an executive of Ukrainian oil company Burisma.

According to terms of the $10 million bribe outlined in the document, the vice president would quash Burisma’s legal problems by threatening to withhold financial aid to Ukraine if they didn’t fire a senior prosecutor looking into their corruption.

EMAIL REVEALS HUNTER’S COZY RELATIONSHIP WITH HIGHEST LEVELS OF OBAMA’S STATE DEPT. AS FARA ACCUSATIONS SWIRL

Even when the document was released to the public on July 20, Biden’s media minders kept their audiences in the dark. No longer journalists, they’re now mere leftwing storytellers, selectively spreading a message intended to deceive when it suits them, and throwing a blanket over any truthful report when it harms the narrative. Their primary mission isn’t to inform the public or to hold the powerful accountable. It’s to ensure that Joe Biden gets reelected.

Joe and Hunter Biden

The Burisma scandal follows reports of similar bribery/pay-to-play schemes with Russia, Kazakhstan, Romania and even with America’s arch-enemy China, hiding the money in over 20 LLCs that served no purpose other than to confuse potential investigators.

Between the evening of August 1 and the morning of August 8, ABC, CBS and NBC devoted more than five hours to Donald Trump’s third indictment on morning and evening newscasts as well as their Sunday morning political talk shows, according to an analysis by NewsBusters.

In contrast, the same programs spent a mere four minutes and 50 seconds on matters related to the Biden family’s many scandals. Putting a number on that lopsided disparity, the old networks spent 68.7 times longer covering Trump’s indictment than anything related to the Biden family’s legal troubles.

The Burisma cover-up continues. On August 9, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer released a memo detailing bank transactions that show at least $20 million flowing from Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs to Hunter and his associates.

Video

“It appears no real services were provided other than access to the Biden network, including Joe Biden himself,” Comer said in a statement. Some of the same oligarchs dined at Washington, D.C.’s Café Milano with then-Vice President Biden, according to Comer. The evidence suggests a criminal scandal on a scale never seen before in American politics. And yet The Big Three refuse to share a word of it with American public.

Those who don’t watch or read these leftist propagandists – and there are plenty of reasons not to tune in – might wonder if it matters. The answer is clear. At the height of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, ahead of the 2020 elections, the legacy media refused to cover it or dismissed it as Russian disinformation.

A post-election poll conducted for the Media Research Center found that 45.1% of swing state Biden voters were unaware of the evidence linking Biden to corrupt financial dealings with China through his son Hunter. And 9.4% of Biden voters said that had they known these facts, they would not have voted for Biden, flipping all six of the swing states he won and giving President Donald Trump 311 electoral votes.

The bottom line is that the legacy media intentionally kept Americans in the dark, and in doing so, swayed the election to Biden.

Meanwhile, the Big Three are myopically focused on Trump’s fourth indictment – the timing of which not so coincidentally follows the latest shocking revelation in the Biden influence-peddling scandal.

The Big Three’s abject refusal to report on the Biden bribery scandal while providing wall-to-wall coverage of the dubious charges against Trump is not just a betrayal of their viewers; it constitutes election tampering. As such, their behavior is a threat to democracy.

Last week, an even bigger bombshell. It turns out then-Vice President Joe Biden was using a web of pseudonyms, from Robert Peters to Robin Ware to JRB Ware, while working with his son to place tens of millions of dollars in that web of LLCs. The National Archives revealed that its holdings contain nearly 5,400 emails, electronic records and documents indicating that Biden used aliases while he was vice president.

The pattern continues. Not one story in the pro-Biden press.

It is time for Biden to face an impeachment inquiry to find out whether he used the power of the vice presidency to rake in millions of dollars for his family, Additionally, President of ABC News Kimberly Godwin, CEO and President of CBS News Wendy McMahon, and NBC News President Rebecca Blumenstein should be invited to appear before a congressional committee and be prepared to answer for this behavior.

The American people deserve to hear the truth. Suppressing the news is not something we should expect outside of totalitarian regimes.

Washington Post fact-checker busts several of Biden’s go-to personal stories: ‘Tradition of embellishing’

The Washington Post’s chief fact-checker Glenn Kessler took exception to several stories President Biden has repeatedly told about his life to connect with audiences in a piece Thursday. Kessler went through several recurring anecdotes that Biden has shared with crowds over the years and detailed how many of them were embellished or just plain not true. He declared, “But throughout his career… Biden’s propensity to exaggerate or embellish tales about his life led to doubts about his truthfulness.”

Kessler analyzed Biden’s recent recounting of a past fire at his house almost destroying his Corvette, anecdotes about being him arrested for standing up during the civil rights era, and a story about the circumstances that led him to be accepting of same-sex relationships. Kessler stated that each of these folksy stories from Biden are part of his “tradition of embellishing his personal tales in ways that cannot be verified or are directly refuted by contemporary accounts.”

WASHINGTON POST SLAPS BIDEN WITH ‘FOUR PINOCCHIOS’ FOR FALSELY CLAIMING HUNTER NEVER MADE MONEY FROM CHINA

The Washington Post logo and President Biden

President Biden was called out by the Washington Post fact-checker for several embellished stories he has told audiences over his career. (Getty Images)

The fact-checker began with Biden’s most recent exaggerated story. He wrote, “At least six times as president, mostly recently in comments to Hurricane Idalia victims Wednesday, Biden has exaggerated the extent of a fire that occurred at his house in 2004.” In those retellings, Kessler noted how Biden, then a U.S. senator from Delaware, had claimed “a couple firefighters” almost died, how his 1967 Corvette was nearly destroyed, and that a “significant portion” of his house burned.

The fact-checker corrected the record, saying, “The contemporary news accounts in the Wilmington News Journal and The Associated Press are much less dramatic.” Citing the outlets, he added, “’Biden’s house on Barley Mill Road was reported hit by lightning at 8:16 a.m., emergency officials said,’ the News Journal reported. ‘There were no injuries and firefighters kept the fire contained to one room.’

“Cranston Heights Fire Co. Chief George Lamborn told the newspaper the flames did not spread from the kitchen. ‘Luckily, we got it pretty early. The fire was under control in 20 minutes.’”

BIDEN BLASTED FOR COMPARING KITCHEN FIRE IN HIS HOME TO DEVASTATING MAUI BLAZE: ‘ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING’

Biden in Maui

Kessler then mentioned Biden’s oft-used anecdote about his conversation with an Amtrak conductor. He wrote, “At least 10 times as president, most recently during an Aug. 15 speech in Milwaukee, Biden has told a heartwarming but implausible story about an Amtrak conductor named Angelo Negri who congratulated him for traveling more on Amtrak than he had on Air Force planes as vice president.”

As Biden has told the story, Negri congratulated the then-vice president for traveling 2 million miles on Amtrak trains, almost double the amount he has traveled on Air Force One. Kessler corrected this, saying, “But it’s not possible this conversation took place as Biden describes… Biden did not pass the 1.2 million-mile mark until 2016; Negri retired from Amtrak in 1993, 16 years before Biden became vice president. Negri died in 2014, two years before Biden claims they had this conversation.”

The fact-checker also poked holes in one of Biden’s go-to gay rights stories. Kessler stated, “Three times this year — and at least seven times since 2014 — Biden has told a version, most recently on Aug. 10, of a story about words his father supposedly spoke after a teenage Biden saw two well-dressed men in suits kiss each other in downtown Wilmington in the early 1960s.”

However, the author noted, “Biden depicts a scene that would have been unusual six decades ago. He describes this exchange with his father usually as taking place in 1961. But back then, gay men generally did not kiss in public. Many people regarded homosexuality as deviant.”

“Moreover,” Kessler added, “Biden’s story has evolved over time. In 2014, in a New York Times article on his evolution on same-sex marriage, he was the father in the story, speaking to one of his sons.”

The journalist threw cold water on Biden’s civil rights stories as well. He reported, “Biden had a tangential role in the civil rights movement — The Fact Checker determined that he participated in one walkout at a restaurant and picketed a segregated movie theater — and yet sometimes he has suggested he was arrested for advocating on behalf of Black people.”

OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF AMERICANS SAY BIDEN IS TOO OLD TO BE EFFECTIVE IN A SECOND TERM, POLL FINDS

Kessler mentioned Biden’s claim that “he was arrested for standing on the porch with a Black couple who were subject to demonstrations” and stated, “But when we investigated, the story did not add up. There was a protest of a Black couple who had purchased a house in an all-White area, but it was a neighborhood many miles from the Biden home.”

The fact-checker also noted that Biden’s assertion that he was arrested while visiting Nelson Mandela “was false,” adding, “he amended his statement to say he was ‘stopped’ at the airport while traveling with a congressional delegation — though others on the delegation said that did not happen.”

Still, the White House championed Biden’s honesty. Deputy White House press secretary Andrew Bates told the Post, “President Biden has brought honesty and integrity back to the Oval Office. Like he promised, he gives the American people the truth right from the shoulder and takes pride in being straight with the country about his agenda and his values; including by sharing life experiences that have shaped his outlook and that hard-working people relate to.”

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Trump: Fox ‘Humiliated by Anemic Debate Ratings’

The campaign for former President Donald Trump went on the offensive against Fox News on Friday, trolling the network over its “anemic debate ratings” while Trump’s interview with Tucker Carlson — which aired the same night — surpassed 250 million views.

According to Nielsen, an estimated 12.8 million people watched Wednesday’s Republican debate on Fox, a decline of almost 50% from August 2015 when Trump appeared in his first presidential debate.

Meanwhile, the Trump campaign touted the 100 million views garnered by Trump-Carlson in the first four hours of its release and the 255 million views overall.

“Fox News is in crisis mode after revealing embarrassing ratings from their GOP debate coverage on Wednesday night,” Trump’s campaign said. “The anemic ratings clearly show that viewers couldn’t have cared less to tune in to the undercard debate, instead joining the ranks of hundreds of millions in watching President Trump’s blockbuster interview with Tucker Carlson.”

The campaign’s blast to supporters comes the day after Trump was arrested at the Fulton County, Georgia, jail over his alleged involvement in trying to overturn the 2020 election results in the state. Trump was booked on the 13 counts against him and had a mug shot taken. Trump told Newsmax late Thursday night it was a “terrible experience.”

Trump said he boycotted the Republican debate this week for a number of reasons, including his large lead over other GOP rivals in the polls. As of Friday, Trump was polling at 52.4% among GOP candidates, according to FiveThirtyEight’s aggregate score. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was a distant second at 14.4%.

The government-funded pundits at National Propaganda Radio (NPR) seem to have a toxic fixation with race.

On Tuesday, the outlet blamed the success of American country music on racial prejudice. In a podcast episode titled “How racism became a marketing tool for country music,” NPR brought on a historian to outline the myriad ways country music is a vehicle for white supremacy. The host, Britany Luse, introduces the episode by previewing questions to Amanda Martinez, a country music historian at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Luse wants to know “how country music became this symbol of racism” and why country music stars remain popular despite artists who currently lead the charts “peddling racist rhetoric today.”

“Is racism really what it takes make country music number one?” Luse asks. “I wanted to know how country music became this symbol of racism.”

The episode went to air over recent allegations of racism against country music stars currently at the top of the charts. Jason Aldean’s recent number-one hit, “Try That In A Small Town,” drew controversy over the suggestion that inner-city riots such as the record-devastating outbursts that erupted in 2020 wouldn’t be tolerated outside major metropolitan areas. Aldean didn’t try to hide the message, as if he even needed to.

“That sh-t may fly in the city. Good luck trying that in a small town.”

“Unfortunately, I think that these three very successful songs at the top of the charts only encourages the country music business to continue what it’s always done,” Martinez said, “which is making a product for a white conservative base.”

Aldean, Martinez added, is “calling for a suppression of those calls for greater freedoms” embedded in the 2020 riots.

According to NPR, the song is racist because of its condemnation of deadly uprisings brought about by Black Lives Matter under the righteous banner of social justice.

The podcast host also brought up Morgan Wallen, because he used the N-word one time, and Luke Combs, because the song that has him in the number three spot is apparently adapted from a black queer woman. While social justice warriors might otherwise be flattered by Combs’ tribute to 1988 Grammy winner Tracy Chapman, the cancellers have to see victimization in everything, so they manufacture a narrative about race so they can continue to label everything “white supremacist.” NPR has now decoded country music as a primary pillar of systemic racism, courtesy of the taxpayer.

“I think we’re continuing to see conservatives kind of hold up country music as supposedly morally superior to an alternative, youth-oriented black popular music,” said Martinez.

But let’s examine the obscenity that’s come to define rap music.

“Fukumean,” currently the number one rap song in the country by Gunna, is an anthem about the rapper’s own superiority and unapologetic determination to stay at the top of the social hierarchy.

F-cking this b-tchh like a perv, smack from the back, grab her perm. Ice the burr, sh-tin’ on all you lil’ turds.

In 2020, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP,” which stands for “Wet A– P-ssy,” topped the Billboard charts for at least four weeks. The lyrics are so obscene that they are not suitable for publication. Readers can read them here.

But more specifically, let’s examine some rap lyrics about Jews. In 1989, a militant rap group called Public Enemy released “Welcome to the Terrordome.” The lyrics read, “Crucifixion ain’t no fiction: so-called chosen, frozen/Apology made to whoever pleases. Still, they got me like Jesus,” followed by “Backstabbed, grabbed a flag from the back of the lab, told the ‘rab, get off the rag.”

In 2017, Jay-Z’s “Story of O.J.” played on Jewish stereotypes of financial dominance.

You wanna know what’s more important than throwin’ away money at a strip club? Credit. You ever wonder why Jewish people own all the property in America? This how they did it.

Rap music has also mocked Arabs and Asians. Ice Cube released “Black Korea” in 1991, deriding “funky little stores” run by Asian-Americans.

Every time I wanna go get a f-ckin’ brew I gotta go down to the store with the two Oriental one penny countin’ motherf-ckers that make a n-gga mad enough to cause a little ruckus … Pay respect to the fist or we’ll burn your store, right down to a crisp.

Now let’s look at some of the commentary from NPR celebrating the genre. In June 2020, NPR published a list of 50 songs deemed significant to black history that they claim “lift music itself” and represent the “spirit of resistance” against racial injustices. To NPR, rap music represents a revolutionary response in support of a righteous cause, and country music represents the worst elements of American racism.

NPR’s Pattern Of Divisive Coverage

The racial lens through which NPR produces coverage has driven the government outlet to produce some bizarre takes on race. In the summer of 2020, NPR flat-out invented a racist crime altogether.

“Rightwing extremists are turning cars into weapons, with reports of 50 vehicle-ramming incidents since protests erupted nationwide in late May,” NPR tweeted. The story featured an image of a Buick sedan surrounded by demonstrators. Local coverage of the incident revealed it was the protestors, not the driver, who will face charges after the altercation. It was the driver who was assaulted by armed rioters.

[READ: NPR Falsely Calls Victim Of Attack By Rioters A White Supremacist]

Just two weeks prior, the outlet published commentary that called on followers to begin “decolonizing your bookshelf.” NPR claimed it was “Republican leaders” the following year who were trying to “ban books.”

Guests on NPR in 2020 also declared the George Floyd riots “‘Acts of Rebellion’ Instead Of Riots” and authored books on the “Defense of Looting.” In the “All Things Considered” podcast that same year, host Sacha Pfeiffer characterized then-President Donald Trump’s initiative to promote patriotic education as an exercise in “cultural division.” Federalist Editor Joy Pullmann reported the comment came after Trump said this:

We must clear away the twisted web of lies in our schools and classrooms and teach our children the magnificent truth about our country. We want our sons and daughters to know that they are the citizens of the most exceptional nation in the history of the world

In 2019, an NPR affiliate also decried struggling to pronounce foreign names as “racist.”

If someone wanted to incite a race war, they would pull from the NPR playbook, inserting an element of racial animus into every story. The pattern of coverage from the taxpayer-funded outlet reveals an agenda on race that’s far more corrosive to national discourse than if Aldean had even tossed the N-word into his number-one hit.

President Joe Biden’s White House demanded an increase of censorship from Facebook in 2021, new emails reveal — confirming once again that the administration believes Americans are stupid.

In part three of what he deemed the “Facebook Files,” Republican Rep. Jim Jordan released more communications obtained from Facebook detailing the immense pressure the Big Tech company received from the executive branch to limit what Americans saw online. Emails show Courtney Rowe, then-White House director of strategic communications and engagement for Covid-19 response, praising Facebook in April 2021 for offering the White House suppression data “broken down by region and demographics.” One sentence later, she petitioned the Big Tech company to answer, “how do we work with you all to push back on it[?]” because she believed that “if someone in rural Arkansas sees something on FB, it’s the truth.”

Jordan said Rowe “mocked Real America’s ability to determine what’s true and what isn’t” because the Biden administration “didn’t think you were smart enough to decide for yourself.”

In April 2021, Biden’s then-Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty also sent Facebook several suppression demands to censor right-wing commentators and publications. According to Flaherty, outlets like the Daily Wire are “polarizing” and not “authoritative news source[s].”

“You wouldn’t have a mechanism to check the material impact?” Flaherty questioned.

On behalf of the White House, Flaherty even asked Facebook to reduce visibility for the New York Post, which debuted reporting about Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” and Biden family corruption six months earlier.

“I’m curious – NY Post churning out articles every day… What is supposed to happen to that from Policy perspective. Does that article get a reduction, labels?” Flaherty asked the censors.

Flaherty eventually concluded that his preference for controlling online speech was to convince Facebook to “kick people off” of the social media platform.

“We’re keen on what platforms are doing to reduce the spread of bad information, that platforms are not funneling people towards bad content,” Flaherty wrote. “That’s our primary concern.”

The censors at the Silicon Valley giant explained that they couldn’t “remove” every user or post deemed problematic by the White House but eventually agreed to demote certain posts even when the posts did not explicitly violate Facebook’s terms and conditions.

Facebook claimed that posts complaining about the “government overreach” of the Biden administration’s Covid jab mandates were reduced because they fed a “vaccine negative environment.”

“The company ADMITTED to the White House that it reduced content of certain posts – even if the posts didn’t violate the company’s terms and contained TRUE information,” Jordan explained.

Weaponizing the censorship industrial complex against Americans isn’t the only time Biden and his Democrat cronies have revealed their belief that Americans are stupid and can’t think for themselves. As early as 1988, Biden was telling voters to their faces that they were not credentialed enough to criticize him.

“I think I probably have a much higher IQ than you do, I suspect,” then-Sen. Biden infamously proclaimed to a voter who asked him to explain his lies about his academic track record.

The ruling regime’s contempt for Americans was made even more abundantly clear during the pandemic. While Democrats demonstrated their disdain for their voters with hypocritical visits to hair salons and fancy restaurants during the height of lockdowns, Biden tried to force Covid shots on hardworking Americans who he apparently thought were not educated well enough to thoughtfully reject the jab.

MSNBC guest mocked for floating 9/11-style response to right wing threats: ‘Utterly oblivious’

A guest on an MSNBC panel Tuesday night drew criticism on social media for suggesting a 9/11-type response to right wing extremists, on the scale of things like the Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security.

“We’re in a battle for hearts and minds, and there are people who are on the fence, we’ve got to have leaders and messages and messengers and programs that get to those people, that bring them over to community organizing, into non-profit organizations and away from the Patriot Front and the Oath Keepers,” Army veteran and author Paul Rieckhoff told Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC Tuesday night.

“After 9/11, we created the Department of Homeland Security,” Rieckhoff said. “There was the Patriot Act. There was massive change in our entire society to face the number one threat, at least what was communicated as the number one threat.”

“I think we need the same kind of tectonic shift,” he said about how to deal with right wing extremists. “It’s got to be much more than ‘see something’ but maybe our laws need to change to respond to the fact that someone like Mike Flynn, the former national security director, is openly calling for violence consistently.”

Rieckhoff ’s call for a bigger government response to conservative groups drew criticism from people who accused MSNBC of promoting a government crackdown on opinions that are not shared by liberal Democrats.

“Nicolle Wallace has been running segments like this virtually on a daily basis since 1/6; every day they’re complaining about how our terrorism laws need to be revamped to make it easier to orient our entire national security apparatus against enemies of the liberal establishment,” Grabien founder and journalist Tom Elliot posted on social media. He said the segment is an example of “ripping apart American society.”

“As they claim to be targeting extremism, they’re utterly oblivious to just how radicalized they themselves have become,” he said. “Every day I watch as they push each other a little further, constantly reminding each other how important they are & how dangerous are those who think differently.”

“In the battle to win hearts and minds, he wants a new PATRIOT Act and DHS,” Center for Renewing America fellow and author Steve Friend tweeted. “Grow government to shut down alternative political views.”

“Notice what he says about the aftermath of 9/11 and ‘what was communicated as the number one threat,’” columnist and author Derek Hunter tweeted. “That’s very telling about this guy…”

President George W. Bush signed the Patriot Act into law in October 2001 which gave the government sweeping authority to investigate and prosecute terrorists which includes broad surveillance powers that many have argued amounts to a violation of personal freedoms.

Mounting Evidence Doesn’t Matter, Corporate Media Will Never Cover the Biden Corruption Scandal

As evidence mounts that President Joe Biden took millions in bribe money from Ukrainian oligarchs when he was vice president as part of an elaborate influence-peddling scheme headed up by his son, Hunter Biden, let’s check in on how the corporate press is handling what looks like the biggest political scandal in American history.

Nothing to see here, apparently. The New York Times has carried no coverage of the shocking allegations contained in an unclassified FBI document Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, released last week. The document, called an FD-1023, details the reporting of a highly credible FBI informant who says the top executive of Ukrainian oil and gas firm Burisma told him he paid Joe and Hunter Biden $5 million each to protect the company from a corruption investigation (that’s in addition to the millions it paid Hunter to sit on its board).

Instead, the “paper of record” ran an article attacking a group called Empower Oversight for helping a pair of IRS whistleblowers at the heart of the Hunter Biden tax fraud investigation who say the FBI and Justice Department hid the informant’s reporting from them, as well as relevant material on Hunter’s laptop. The Times wasn’t interested in the substance of what these whistleblowers had to say, but rather focused on the fact that Empower Oversight helped them follow the proper procedures and whistleblower statutes for bringing their claims to Congress.

Over at The Washington Post, there was likewise zero coverage of the FBI informant’s reporting, even after portions of it were corroborated this week as reported by Margot Cleveland in these pages. Nor was there any mention of Tuesday’s news that Hunter’s former business partner and fellow Burisma board member, Devon Archer, will testify before Congress that Hunter would regularly call his father and put him on speakerphone with overseas business associates when Joe Biden was vice president.

None of that seems to interest the editors at the Post. The only mention of any of this comes from media columnist Philip Bump, who devoted an entire column Monday to a tortured explanation of why we should ignore it all. Just because a trusted FBI informant is credible, writes Bump, doesn’t mean that what the informant was told is true: “I trust my wife, but if she tells me that our 6-year-old claims to have seen a dragon on the roof, I don’t suddenly believe that there was a dragon on the roof.”

Indeed not. But what Bump seems to be suggesting is that if his wife ran up to him terrified that there’s a dragon on the roof because his 6-year-old claims to have seen one, he would just shrug it off until further evidence emerged. And maybe he actually would. After all, this is the same guy who once seemed terribly confused about where babies come from

But of course Bump, like the rest of the corporate press, is faking it. A normal person, confronted by his hysterical wife claiming the boy saw a dragon on the roof, would take a second to step outside and look at the roof. Bump and his colleagues refuse to do even this, insisting rather that this is all just political theater, the GOP desperately grasping at straws to damage Biden.

In a healthy society with a functioning free press, the Biden corruption scandal — and the rank obstruction of the DOJ and FBI on Biden’s behalf — would dominate the headlines. Instead of merely reporting that the Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy yesterday floated the prospect of impeachment proceedings against Biden, the press would be reporting on the mounting evidence underlying the drive for impeachment.

But no. Instead, the corporate media are twisting themselves into pretzels to explain away every new development in this story. As David Marcus noted on Twitter, “We are precipitously close to, ‘Maybe Joe Biden did take money from Burisma, but here’s why that’s actually a good thing.’”

Or as one Twitter account put it:

We can see the goalposts shifting in real time. Asked Monday about the corruption allegations and the claims that Hunter put his father on speakerphone with foreign business associates when Biden was vice president, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden “was never in business with his son.”

That’s a far cry from Biden’s past statements that he has “never spoken” to Hunter about his overseas business dealings. (Never mind the hundreds of meetings Biden has reportedly had with Hunter’s business partners.) But at this rate the laughable White House line will become the media’s fallback position: Biden wasn’t in business with his son! He was just collecting “dividends,” not bribe money!

The upshot of all this is simple: no matter what evidence emerges, no matter how damning, the corporate media will not cover it. To the extent they mention the story at all, it will be in the context of bashing Republican lawmakers for trying to “dig up dirt” on Biden. If the GOP-controlled House opens an impeachment proceeding, which is the only way we’re ever going to get to the bottom of the Biden corruption scheme, the coverage will be about how Republican lawmakers are conducting a “witch hunt” to get back at Democrats for impeaching Trump.

Everywhere, we’ll hear the same line that CBS’s “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan tossed to Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie recently, in reference to the outrageous plea deal offered to Hunter Biden for a couple of tax charges: “I wonder after this plea happens if you would advise your party to move on?”

Of course, the whole point of the plea deal was to give the corporate media this line in hopes that the American people would “move on” and forget about the scandal. But no one, it seems, is “moving on” except Democrats and their courtesans in the press. The rest of us are going to take a second to step outside and see if there’s really a dragon on the roof. We’ll make sure to let Philip Bump know.

‘You’re Going to See More of Tucker’: Biographer, Executive Producer Tease What’s Next for Carlson

The swanky Metropolitan Club in downtown Washington, D.C., might be the last place you’d expect to find Tucker Carlson’s biggest fans. But that’s exactly where they gathered Wednesday night for a party celebrating the forthcoming Carlson biography, “Tucker,” by Chadwick Moore.

Carlson was a regular at the club when he ran the Daily Caller with longtime friend and business partner Neil Patel. Although the former Fox News star wasn’t present at the party, it featured a who’s who of conservatives, including Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala. Attendees were treated to a candid conversation between author Moore and Carlson’s longtime executive producer, Justin Wells.

Moore, who appeared on the final episode of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on April 21, began working on the Carlson biography long before Fox News shocked the world by canceling its top-rated show April 24. The author spent hundreds of hours interviewing Carlson and others who have influenced Carlson’s life. The timing of the “Tucker” biography is fortuitous: It’s set to publish Aug. 1.

Wednesday’s party celebrated not only Carlson’s accomplishments, but also offered some hints about what he is planning next. Wells wouldn’t speculate on reasons for the show’s cancellation and his own firing, preferring instead to focus on the future and what Carlson has planned for his “Tucker on Twitter” show.

“You’re going to see more of Tucker, and you’re going to see many different formats,” Wells said.

He added that “there is a very, very big interview” coming soon, but didn’t reveal any details when asked by Moore to tease what to expect.

Wells, who joined Carlson in Iowa for last week’s Family Leadership Summit, explained how the moderator approached his interviews with Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.; former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson; former Vice President Mike Pence; former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley; entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy; and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“He listens to people, and he talks to them,” Wells said. “He’s very big on words. There’s nobody who has a better mastery of words than Tucker. And when the candidates are up on stage, and they say things that don’t make sense, he zeros in on that. There are very few people who can do that. That was demonstrated in Iowa.”

Wells added, “Being away for a little bit, he has more clarity than ever. … I think they were a little nervous because Tucker’s a no B.S. guy.”

Of the six candidates, Carlson sparred most with Hutchinson and Pence. “I don’t think they knew that they were going to struggle that badly,” said Wells, who noted that Pence and Carlson spoke afterward.

When Moore asked about Carlson’s outlook on life after 14 years at Fox News, including the last seven as host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Wells said, “He’s having too much fun. He’s hunting and fishing and doing all the things that he wants to do. But he’s also had a lot of time to think.”

Shortly after Fox News canceled his show, Carlson announced he would distribute his monologues and interviews on Twitter. Elon Musk bought the social media company for $44 billion in 2022, radically transforming Twitter from a platform that routinely censored conservatives in the past to one that champions free speech today. Musk recently hired media executive Linda Yaccarino to be its CEO.

Wells acknowledged that “Twitter and all platforms have a long way to go,” but it was moving in the right direction as a platform committed to free speech.

“It’s not just Elon, but Linda and others there who oversee the future of Twitter. They all believe in that,” Wells said. “Any time we’ve run into an issue in our very short period of distributing from Twitter, we’ve worked with Twitter on the problem. I would hope over time that we blaze that trail so that others can be heard by as many people as possible.”

With the “Tucker” biography debuting Aug. 1, Americans are about to get a behind-the-scenes look at Carlson. Moore was granted unprecedented access to him, interviewing Carlson as well as his family, co-workers, and adversaries. Wells was among those who contributed to Moore’s book.

Wells said Carlson remains as motivated—and cheerful—today as he’s ever seen him.

“There’s nobody sticking up for average Americans, and that’s what’s driving him,” Wells said. “He brings something to the American public that’s different.”

Goya CEO Unanue to Newsmax: ‘Hand of God’ All Over ‘Sound of Freedom’ Film

By Charles Kim    |   Tuesday, 18 July 2023 10:49 AM EDT

Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue told Newsmax Tuesday that the “hand of God” was evident in the movie “The Sound of Freedom,” and led him to create the Goya Cares international initiative to combat the estimated $250 billion annual child sex trafficking industry.

“[The movie] is the hand of God,” Unanue said during “Wake Up America” Tuesday. “It’s a $250 billion business, [child] trafficking along with drugs and arms sales. We worked with a lot of agencies and things like that, but you can’t fix it one child at a time [with this kind of] awareness, we need to bring our families back together.”

The film, which took in $27 million last week and $78 million since being released two weeks ago, tells the true story of former federal law enforcement agent Tim Ballard who left his government job to rescue children who were being trafficked in Central America, IMDB reports. The film was initially made for FOX and Disney several years ago, but was only recently released through Angel Studios which makes “The Chosen” series focusing on the gospels and life of Jesus Christ.

Unanue said he got involved with the project when the film’s producer, Eduardo Verástegui approached him to raise the money needed to get the rights from Disney, who was holding the movie from distribution.

“That was actually a spiritual moment to it,” Unanue said. “Eduardo needed some ‘X’ amount of money to take it out of Disney. They owned it and he wanted to take it and distribute it because they wanted to shelve it.”

He said he gave the money and it lingered with Disney for a while longer until Angel Studios came to distribute it. His involvement with the film led him to begin the Goya Cares initiative.

“It has been a spiritual calling that led us to this point with the hopes to not just shed light but put an end to this horrific evil,” Unanue said in June when he announced the initiative. “We are proud to be a part of this movie since the beginning and support the incredible work of Eduardo Verástegui and Tim Ballard. I founded Goya Cares with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the inspiration of ‘Sound of Freedom.’ “

According to the company, “Goya Foods, the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the United States, has used its international platform to establish Goya Cares as a global initiative, bringing together organizations and businesses to show solidarity and help communities recognize the dangers of child trafficking and the importance of preventative education.”

Op-ed: Correcting CBS’ misinformation about gender

By John Stonestreet and Jared Eckert, Op-ed contributor| Monday, July 17, 2023

A recent CBS News article claims, in its very title, in fact, to separate “medical facts from misinformation” around so-called “gender-affirming care.” However, rather than separate the facts from the falsehoods, the article peddles lies and half-truths, assuming the conclusions it claims to prove in a thinly veiled piece of progressive propaganda. And that’s about the nicest thing that can be said about it.

The first dead giveaway about the piece is how it smuggles trans ideology into its chosen language and terminology. Rather than refer to boys and girls, or young males and females, the author refers to “kids with testes” and “those with ovaries.”

The piece then claims to set the record straight about what is involved in diagnosing gender dysphoria and administering “gender-affirming care.” Here, too, its claims could not be further from the truth. According to the author, “the process informing these treatments is a long and intensive one.” This directly conflicts with an increasing number of testimonies from whistleblowers and detransitioners who sought out this kind of care, not to mention the information given by providers like Planned Parenthood.

According to a whistleblower and former case manager at Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, “[T]he majority” of young people who came to them “received hormone prescriptions.” Likewise, Helena Kirschner, a young woman who detransitioned, received testosterone as a teenager after her first visit to Planned Parenthood.

It’s notable that Planned Parenthood doesn’t even cover up this information. On some office webpages, the abortion giant happily promotes that “[i]n most cases your clinician will be able to prescribe hormones the same day as your first visit. No letter from a mental health provider is required.” Getting high-powered, life-altering drugs on your first visit hardly involves a “long and intensive” diagnosis process.

The piece also falsely presents the effects of chemical “transition” interventions as reversible and harmless, peddling the lie that puberty blockers are like a “pause button” for puberty, which can be stopped and restarted with no long-term effect. Contrary to this claim, recent studies have found that the lasting adverse effects of the puberty-blocking drug Lupron, which is used to halt puberty primarily in young girls, include brittle bones and faulty joints. The piece also tries to soften the truth about cross-sex hormones by saying that some of their effects are reversible. However, changes caused in secondary sexual characteristics, such as deepened voices, facial hair, breast growth, and infertility are not reversible in the least.

At the heart of most transgender propaganda is the claim that transitioning children has mental health benefits and can save them from suicide. Unsurprisingly, this piece repeats that claim while ignoring the facts that do not line up. The piece cites a popular but deeply flawed study among trans-advocates that those who received cross-sex hormones as minors had better mental health outcomes than those who received them as adults.  However, the study’s flawed design makes it impossible to sufficiently isolate cross-sex hormones, or lack thereof, as the determining factor of mental health outcomes. In fact, better research shows the opposite conclusion. For example, in states where youth were able to access chemical “transition” interventions without parental consent, youth suicide rates were higher than those who required parental consent. Additionally, the longest-term study on the effects of transitioning has found that those who transition are over 19 times more likely to die by suicide than the general population.

Far from causing harm, denying irreversible and sterilizing chemical and surgical interventions actually helps children who are distressed by their bodies. Granted time and space, many learn to accept their bodies and God-given identities. However, propaganda pieces like this one published by CBS confuse those called to care for children and only contributes to their harm. If journalists and media outlets really want to dispel misinformation and help vulnerable children, they should stop blindly repeating the lies of gender ideologues.

I’ve been telling you that The Left’s motivation in this transition madness has nothing to do with their concern for children’s gender dysphoria. It has everything to do with their Goddess Margarette Sanger’s original campaign about World Overpopulation. “Transitioning Children” by cutting off their reproductive organs creates a generation of people who can’t reproduce. The Left is claiming she meant “pollution” not “population”. All the evidence to the contrary is already out there. Sometimes, the “slip of the tongue” is the real truth.

The Federal Trade Commission inappropriately pressured an independent third-party auditing firm to find Twitter had violated the terms of its settlement agreement with the FTC, a motion filed last week in federal court reveals. That misconduct and the FTC’s own repudiation of the terms of the settlement agreement entitle Twitter to vacate the consent order, its lawyers maintain. This latest development holds significance beyond Twitter’s fight with the FTC, however, with the details providing further evidence that the Biden administration targeted Twitter because of its owner Elon Musk’s support for free speech on his platform.

I “felt as if the FTC was trying to influence the outcome of the engagement before it had started,” a CPA with nearly 30 years of experience with the Big Four accounting firm Ernst & Young (EY) testified last month. The FTC’s pressure campaign left EY partner David Roque so unsettled that he sought guidance from another partner concerning controlling ethical standards for CPAs to assess whether his independence had been compromised by the federal agency. Roque’s testimony prompted attorneys for Twitter to seek documents from the FTC to assess whether the federal agency had repeated its pressure campaign with EY’s successors, but the agency refused to provide any details to the social media giant. Twitter responded last week by filing a “Motion for a Protective Order and Relief From Consent Order.”

That motion and its accompanying exhibits provide shocking details of an abusive agency targeting Twitter. When those facts are coupled with the report on the FTC issued earlier this year by the House Weaponization Subcommittee, it seems clear the Biden administration is targeting Twitter because Musk seceded from the Censorship-Industrial Complex.

FTC’s Pre-Musk Enforcement Actions

Thursday’s motion began with the background necessary to appreciate the gravity of the FTC’s scorched-earth campaign against Twitter.

More than a decade ago, the FTC entered into a settlement agreement with Twitter after finding Twitter had violated the Federal Trade Commission Act by misrepresenting the extent it protected user information from unauthorized access. That 2011 settlement agreement resulted in a consent order that required Twitter to establish a “comprehensive information security program” that met specific parameters. The 2011 consent order also required Twitter to obtain an assessment from an independent third-party professional confirming compliance with the terms of the settlement agreement.

From 2011 to 2019, Twitter operated under the 2011 consent order and received about 10 “demand letters” from the FTC seeking additional information. Then in October 2019, Twitter informed the FTC that “some email addresses and phone numbers provided for account security may have been used unintentionally for advertising purposes.” In investigating that report, the FTC sent Twitter another 15 or so demand letters over a two-year period before filing a complaint in a California federal court on May 25, 2022, alleging Twitter had violated the 2011 consent order and Section 5 of the FTC Act by misrepresenting the extent to which Twitter maintained and protected the privacy of nonpublic consumer information.

The next day, the court entered a “Stipulated Order” — meaning Twitter and the FTC had agreed to the terms of that order — “for Civil Penalty, Monetary Judgment, and Injunctive Relief.” That stipulated order allowed the FTC to reopen the 2011 proceeding and enter an updated consent order, which created a new “compliance structure.”

Under the 2022 order, Twitter was required to establish and maintain a “comprehensive privacy and information security program” to “protect[] the privacy, security, confidentiality, and integrity” of certain user information by Nov. 22, 2022. The 2022 consent order also required Twitter to obtain an assessment of its compliance with the terms of the court order by “qualified, objective, independent third-party professionals.”

Musk Makes Waves

Musk entered into an agreement on April 25, 2022, to purchase Twitter, effective Oct. 27, 2022, and one must wonder if that April agreement prompted Twitter’s then-management to enter the May 2022 consent decree, as Twitter’s prior management handcuffed Musk to the terms of the agreement forged with the FTC. Either way, the May 2022 consent order governed Twitter’s operations under Musk’s new management.

While the 2022 consent decree remained unchanged after Musk’s purchase became final, the FTC’s posture toward Twitter changed drastically. As Twitter’s Thursday motion detailed, “in the five months between the signing of the Consent Order on May 25, 2022, and Mr. Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, Inc. on October 27, 2022, the FTC sent Twitter only three demand letters.”

All three letters concerned a whistleblower’s claims that Twitter had violated the Federal Trade Commission Act and the 2011 consent order by making false and misleading statements about its security, privacy, and integrity. The FTC waited nearly two months after receiving the whistleblower’s complaint before serving its first demand letter on Twitter.

FTC Goes Scorched Earth

According to Twitter’s motion for relief from the 2022 consent order, “Musk’s acquisition of Twitter produced a sudden and drastic change in the tone and intensity of the FTC’s investigation into the company.” Among other things, the FTC publicly stated it was “tracking recent developments at Twitter with deep concern.” The FTC also stressed that the revised consent order provided the agency with “new tools to ensure compliance,” and it was “prepared to use them.”

And use them the FTC did: The agency immediately issued two demand letters to Twitter seeking information about workforce reductions and the launch of Twitter Blue. Those demand letters came before Twitter was even required under the 2022 consent decree to have its new programs in place. Since then, Twitter’s attorneys note, the FTC has pummeled Twitter’s corporate owner, X Corp., with “burdensome demand letters” — more than 17 separate demand letters, with some 200 individual demands for information and documents, translates into a new demand letter every two weeks.

FTC Starts Drilling Former Employees

In addition to the FTC’s flurry of demand letters, it began deposing former Twitter employees — five to date — and is currently seeking to question Musk. The FTC also deposed Roque on June 21, 2023, but the questioning backfired. Twitter learned from that deposition, as its lawyers put it in Thursday’s motion, “that the FTC’s harassment campaign was even more extreme and far-reaching than it had imagined.”

Roque was the Ernst & Young partner overseeing the assessment it was hired by Twitter to perform — an assessment mandated by the May 2022 consent decree. Twitter’s previous management retained EY in July 2022 to issue the assessment report of its security measures.

In late February 2023, EY withdrew from the engagement. Many of the FTC’s questions to Roque probed the reasoning for the withdrawal, including the high number of personnel changes and EY’s difficulty in starting the assessment because of Twitter upheaval caused by Musk’s changes.

Deposition Backfires Big Time

During the FTC’s question of Roque about EY’s withdrawal from the engagement and various emails exchanged by partners, the longtime CPA dropped a bombshell: The FTC had so pressured Roque to reach its preconceived conclusion that Twitter had violated the consent decree that Roque sought help researching the ethical standards that govern CPAs to assess whether EY’s independence had been compromised.

Roque revealed that detail when the FTC’s lawyer quizzed him on the meaning of a chat message exchange he had with fellow EY partner Paul Penler on the evening of Feb. 21, 2023, shortly before the Big Four firm announced it was withdrawing from its engagement to assess Twitter’s compliance with the 2022 consent order.

While the actual chat message was filed under seal as Exhibit 16 in support of Twitter’s motion, the transcript of Roque’s questioning was provided to the court, revealing the pertinent aspects of the conversation.

Roque began by asking Penler, “Where is the best place to confirm independence consideration for attest engagement?” About 15 minutes later, Roque followed up by asking whether specific language about an “adverse interest threat” “could work for Twitter?” Roque then commented to Penler that “EY interests are not aligned with Twitter anymore because of the FTC.”

Mild-Mannered CPA Drops Bombshell

After showing Roque a copy of his chat exchange with Penler, the FTC attorney quizzed the EY partner on why he had sent the note and what he meant by the various lines. That’s when the bomb exploded, with Roque explaining he had contacted Penler — who was with EY’s professional practice group, the internal group that was responsible for ensuring the firm adequately followed professional standards — because Roque had concerns about whether the FTC had threatened his independence.

“As we were moving forward with this engagement, we had ongoing discussions with the FTC,” Roque explained. “[D]uring those discussions,” Roque continued, “the FTC kept expressing their opinion more and more adamantly about the extent of procedures Ernst & Young would need to perform based on their expectations. And there was also expectations around the results they would expect us to find based on the information Twitter had already provided to the FTC and the FTC had reviewed.”

Those conversations, Roque testified, made him feel “as if the FTC was trying to influence the outcome of the engagement before it had started,” so he was attempting to assess whether EY had an “adverse threat,” meaning “somebody outside of the arrangement we had with Twitter trying to influence the outcome of our results.”

FTC Spin Falls Flat

After Roque revealed his concerns about the FTC’s conduct, the lawyer for the federal agency pushed him to backtrack by asking leading questions. Rather than hedge, Roque stood firm, as these exchanges show:

FTC Attorney: “To be clear, no one from the FTC directed you to reach a particular conclusion about Twitter’s 22 program, correct?”

Roque: “There was suggestions of what they would expect the outcome to be.”

* * *

FTC Attorney: “No one from the FTC actually told you what EY’s report should say in its conclusions, correct?”

Roque: “There was a conversation where it was conveyed that the FTC would be surprised if there was areas on our report that didn’t have findings based on information the FTC was already aware of, and if Ernst & Young didn’t have findings in those areas, we should expect the FTC would follow up very significantly to understand why we didn’t have similar conclusions.”

Twitter’s Lawyer Pounces

After two fails, the FTC moved on to other questions, but Twitter’s lawyer, Daniel Koffmann, returned to the topic when it was his turn to question Roque. Koffmann asked Roque whether there was a particular meeting with the FTC in which the agency had given him the impression that it “was expecting a certain outcome in the assessment that Ernst & Young was conducting relative to Twitter’s compliance with the consent order.”

Roque mentioned two meetings. He described the first, which was in December 2022, as “interesting” and “surprising” because when EY noted that Twitter, under its new ownership, might opt to terminate its contract with the firm, the FTC was “very adamant about this is absolutely what you will do and this is going to occur, and you’ll produce a report at the end of the day.” Roque found the FTC’s stance “a bit surprising,” since the report was not due for another six to seven months and the federal agency would not know what might transpire during that time period.

Roque further explained that he found the December 2022 meeting “unusual” because the FTC provided “specificity on the execution of very specific types of procedures that they expected to be performed.”

“It was almost as if they were giving us components of our audit program to execute,” Roque said. While EY could perform such a review, it would be a different type of engagement than the one it had entered with Twitter. Rather, EY’s assessment for Twitter was to access, for instance, how security operates and how the user administration process is managed. In conducting that assessment, the firm would look at specific controls. But the FTC was giving EY very specific tests to run, which was inconsistent with a typical audit, Roque explained.

It was the second meeting, which took place in January 2022, that raised real concerns for Roque. It was then, Roque said, that the FTC “started providing areas that they were expecting us to look at.” Roque testified that the FTC “communicated that they would expect Ernst & Young to have findings or exceptions or negative results in certain areas based on what they already understood from an operational standpoint, based on information Twitter had provided, and that if we ended up producing a report that didn’t have findings in those areas, that they would be surprised, and they would be definitely following up with us to understand why we didn’t — why we reached the conclusions we did if they were sort of not reflecting gaps in the controls.”

Roque would go on to agree with Twitter’s attorney that during the January 2022 meeting, “the representatives from the FTC expressed that they believed Ernst & Young’s assessment would lead to findings or exceptions about Twitter’s compliance with the consent order.”

Twitter Takes FTC to Task

A little over a week after Roque’s deposition, Twitter’s legal team wrote the FTC a scathing letter noting that Roque’s alarming testimony “demonstrates that the FTC has resorted to bullying tactics, intimidation, and threats to potential witnesses.”

“It strongly suggests that the FTC has attempted to exert improper influence over witnesses in order to manufacture evidence damaging to X Corp. and Mr. Musk,” the letter continued, adding that Roque’s testimony also raised serious questions about whether the FTC’s bias would render any future enforcement action unconstitutional.

The Twitter letter ended by requesting documents and information from the FTC “to evaluate the nature and scope of the FTC’s misconduct and the remedial measures that will be necessary.” Among other things, Twitter asked for communications between FTC personnel and the company that succeeded EY as Twitter’s independent assessor, as well as another company Twitter considered but did not select to replace EY.

The FTC refused Twitter’s request. In its letter denying Musk access to any documents, Reenah L. Kim, the same attorney who allegedly made the statements to Roque, claimed Twitter’s accusations of so-called “bullying tactics, intimidation, and threats to potential witnesses” by the FTC “are completely unfounded.”

Lots of Legal Implications

Following the FTC’s refusal to provide Twitter the requested documents, Musk’s legal team filed its “Motion for a Protective Order and Relief From Consent Order” with the California federal court where the 2022 consent decree had been entered. In this recently filed motion, Musk’s attorneys argue the FTC “breached” the consent order when it attempted “to dictate and influence the content, procedures, and outcome” of the court-ordered assessment, which the consent decree required to be both “objective” and “independent.”

To support its argument, Twitter highlighted the FTC’s own language in an earlier letter the agency had sent to Twitter’s prior management team discussing the importance of the same “independence” requirement from the first consent decree. That order was clear, the FTC wrote, that “Twitter must obtain periodic security assessments ‘from a qualified, objective, independent third-party professional.’”

The “assessor must be an independent third party — not an employee or agent of either Twitter or the FTC,” the letter continued, adding that if the auditor were indeed an agent of Twitter, “Twitter would be in violation of the Order’s requirement that it obtain a security assessment from an ‘independent third-party’ professional.” The FTC then stressed: “The very purpose of a security or privacy order’s assessment provision is to ensure that evaluation of a respondent’s security or privacy program is truly objective — i.e., unaffected by the interests (or litigation positions) of either the respondent or the FTC.”

The FTC’s interference with EY’s independence thus constituted a violation of the 2022 consent decree, Twitter’s legal team argued, justifying the court vacating that order — or at a minimum modifying it. Twitter also argued in its motion that as a matter of fairness, the consent decree should be set aside given the FTC’s outrageously aggressive demands for documents, compared to its posture toward Twitter prior to Musk’s purchase.

That motion remains pending before federal Magistrate Judge Thomas Hixon, with a hearing set for next month.

Connection to the Censorship Complex

While Twitter’s Thursday motion does not directly connect to the Censorship-Industrial Complex, the FTC’s posture toward Twitter changed following news that Musk intended to purchase the tech giant to make it a free-speech zone. And when Roque’s testimony is considered against the backdrop of evidence previously exposed by the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, it seems clear the Biden administration sought to punish Twitter for exiting from the government’s whole-of-society plan to censor supposed misinformation.

The House subcommittee’s March 2023 report, titled “The Weaponization of the Federal Trade Commission: An Agency’s Overreach to Harass Elon Musk’s Twitter,” established the FTC had requested the names of every journalist Musk had provided access to internal communications, which had led to the earth-shattering revelations contained in the “Twitter Files.” Many of the FTC’s other demands, the House report concluded, also “had little to no nexus to users’ privacy and information.” The report thus concluded that the “strong inference” “is that Twitter’s rediscovered focus on free speech [was] being met with politically motivated attempts to thwart Elon Musk’s goals.”

Know-Nothing Khan

House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, attempted to question FTC Chair Lina Khan on Thursday about the agency’s apparent interference with EY’s independence and its connection to the federal government’s efforts to silence speech.

“The FTC has engaged in conduct so irregular and improper that Ernst & Young (‘EY’) — the independent assessor designated under a consent order between Twitter and the FTC to evaluate the company’s privacy, data protection, and information security program — ‘felt as if the FTC was trying to influence the outcome of the engagement before it had started,’” Jordan said.

But Khan claimed she knew nothing about Roque or his deposition testimony.

That doesn’t change the fact that the FTC has been laser-focused on Twitter since Musk revolted against the Censorship-Industrial Complex. Whether Twitter will convince the California federal court that the FTC’s conduct justifies tearing up the consent decree, however, remains to be seen.

Tucker Carlson’s return to television and live interviews with presidential candidates may spark fireworks

Tucker Carlson may spark fireworks Friday as he goes head to head with presidential nominees live on stage at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit in Des Moines, Iowa.

The former Fox News Channel personality has a history of holding nothing back and has conducted heated interviews with some of this year’s summit participants in the past. His individual on-stage interviews with presidential candidates at this year’s summit in the run-up to the 2024 election may well prove to be extra spicy.

In a preview of what may be in store for viewers, at last year’s summit, Tucker was adamant about voters holding would-be political leaders’ feet to the fire.

“If you continue to get leaders, leaders that you vote for, whose campaigns you fund, who can look directly into a camera and say the single most important thing in the world is, in a material sense, totally unrelated to your life or the life of any of the other 350 million people who live here, that’s a huge problem,” Carlson said during a speech at the 2022 FAMiLY Leadership Summit.

Prior to leaving Fox News, Carlson openly shared pointed opinions on conservative political figures, regularly raising some Republican viewers’ hackles.

“In all the ways that matter, Nikki Haley is a member in good standing of the most protected class of all — upper income, liberal white ladies with fashionable political views. She may be running to be the Republican nominee, but she is fundamentally indistinguishable from the neoliberal donor base of the Democratic Party,” Carlson said of former Governor Nikki Haley in February.

Haley is among the confirmed participants at this year’s summit.

“Nikki Haley believes in collective racial guilt. She thinks Ukraine’s borders are more important than our own. She believes identity politics is our future,” Carlson also said of the former South Carolina governor.

Former Vice President Mike Pence, another summit interviewee, condemned Carlson’s coverage of the January 6 riot at the Gridiron Club dinner in March without calling Carlson out by name. Pence rebuked Carlson’s portrayal of rioters as sightseers or tourists.

Carlson, an outspoken critic of surgery and chemical interventions on children with gender dysphoria, was devastatingly blunt in an interview with then Governor Asa Hutchinson two years ago. Hutchinson had just vetoed a bill that would have prevented physicians from prescribing puberty blockers and/or surgically castrating children who believe they are transgender.

“I think of you as a conservative. Here you’ve come out publicly as pro-choice on the question of chemical castration of children. What changed? … We’re talking about minors, children here … why do you think it’s important for conservatives to make certain that children can block their puberty? Why is that a conservative value?”

One issue almost certain to be on the table during the conference is the United States’ involvement in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Carlson is openly opposed to the war, while some of the Republican nominees he will be interviewing at the summit appear openly hawkish.

Whether it is the Russia-Ukraine war, January 6, transgender surgery for kids, abortion, or other controversial topics, one thing is certain: Carlson will not shy away from pressing this year’s slate of Republican candidates to defend their positions. Voters will surely be the wiser for it.

Interviews of presidential candidates at the FAMiLY Leadership Summit have sparked controversy in the past. In the run-up to the 2016 election, pollster Frank Luntz interviewed then-nominee Trump at the summit along with several other Republican presidential candidates. Trump made a remark about Sen. John McCain during the interview, saying McCain was a war hero, but that he, Trump, liked “people that weren’t captured.”

“The FAMiLY Leader is thrilled to partner with BlazeTV to bring this unique content to a national audience looking for a better vision for America’s future. BlazeTV brings insightful and inspiring voices to Americans, and we are grateful that commitment will continue with the FAMiLY Leadership Summit,” FAMiLY Leader president and CEO Bob Vander Plaats told TheBlaze Monday.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), former Vice President Mike Pence (R), Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), author and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (R), former United Nations Amb. and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) have all confirmed their attendance at the 2023 FAMiLY Leadership Summit: Principle over Politics.

Former President Donald Trump (R), though invited, will not be participating in the summit, Vander Plaats confirmed Tuesday morning in a tweet finalizing the lineup. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R), President Joe Biden (D), and Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were also invited, but will not be participating.

Glenn Beck will be interviewing Tucker Carlson after the summit.

Anti-child-trafficker whose story is told in ‘Sound of Freedom’ explains that the trans agenda and Biden administration’s border policies benefit pedophiles

By: JOSEPH MACKINNON | July 10, 2023

YouTube video, The Daily Signal – Screenshot

Tim Ballard is the former Department of Homeland Security agent whose dogged pursuit of child traffickers across the globe is the subject of the massively successful new film “Sound of Freedom.” In a recent interview, Ballard accounted for some of the reasons the radical left might appear so desperate to attack and denigrate the movie: It illustrates the consequences of the left’s thinking and policies.

Ballard, joined by Jim Caviezel who plays him in the film, explained to the Daily Signal that wittingly or not, transgender activists and the Biden administration are both dressing the sacrificial altar whereon children may be victimized as a consequence of the policies they pursue.

When elaborating on a mission to save children in Ukraine from sex traffickers after the country’s invasion by Russia, Ballard noted that his team locked into “this pedophile ring. Now, it’s a frightening ring because it’s a political party that was out of Holland. … They were trying to legalize sex with children. They thought that a 3-year-old could consent to sex.”

Ballard was referencing the pro-pedophile Dutch Party for Neighborly Love, Freedom, and Diversity in the Netherlands — a group he indicated has made explicit the woke left’s social agenda in its platform.

Ballard said that some members of PNVD fled Holland after law enforcement finally came down on them but were ultimately arrested in Ecuador.

In advance of the Dutch politicians’ arrest, Ballard noted that he had to “study their literature. This was a political platform. This was a political party. And what I started recognizing is, I named them the … ‘pedophile network doctrines.'”

According to Ballard, the so-called pedophile network doctrines — not strictly specific to the PNVD — are:

“Now, what am I seeing here?” said Ballard. “My stomach is getting sick as I’m reading this. I read this every day. It’s the woke left agenda.”

The child liberator clarified that he wasn’t alleging that trans activists and the PNVD or other such pedophiles were “colluding or talking,” but that “it doesn’t matter. It’s the same dark source. … Pedophiles are sitting back right now, going, ‘We’ve been pushing this agenda for decades and now we don’t have to push any more because the left are taking care of it for us in America.’ In America!”

For instance, Democrats in Washington state recently passed a law that reportedly enables individuals or youth/homeless shelters to avoid informing a child’s parents or law enforcement of their whereabouts if a child is seeking — without parental consent — a sex change, a tracheal shave, a mastectomy, breast implants, an abortion, puberty blockers, or “assisted reproduction” services.

In another instance where the left has ostensibly advanced the cause of those “sitting back right now,” California state Sen. Scott Wiener, who claimed that “the word groomer is categorically an anti-LGBTQ hate word,” successfully pushed a law enabling judges to keep men who prey on grade-schoolers 10 years their junior, between the ages of 14 and 17, off sex-offender registries.

Ballard stressed that both transgender activists and pedophiles argue that children can consent to destructive and sexualizing acts.

This mentality, granted legitimacy by policy decisions and laws that enable children to “consent to having their bodies filled with a chemical that will destroy their reproductive system” and “ripping apart their genitalia,” will lead to “what the pedophiles have been asking for for,” said Ballard. “If you can consent to that, guess what: What’s more fluid than gender? Age.”

Extra to the left’s pursuit of greater social deregulation, Ballard suggested that its support for open borders has similarly fed the “economy of pedophilia.”

The Daily Signal highlighted how, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, over 150,000 unaccompanied minors were encountered crossing the U.S.-Mexico border last fiscal year and over 91,000 have been intercepted crossing the border so far this fiscal year.

“Thousands of them … are under 5 years old,” said Ballard. “Why is a 3-year-old showing up at the border? … Well, I can tell you why, because they show up with a name — the name of the sponsor that they’re given by the trafficker.”

“[The Department of Health and Human Services] gets the kids and they by law have to call the number. ‘Hi, we have Jose Gonzalez, Mr. George Smith.’ ‘Yeah, yeah, that’s my kid, whatever.’ ‘Okay,'” said Ballard, dramatizing a hypothetical conversation between a prospective predator and an unwitting facilitator at the HHS.

“They used to actually fly down and have to pick the kid up. Not anymore. Our taxpayer dollars will then send the kid by plane or bus to this George, the sponsor; no background check, no DNA, nothing. And they deliver the kids. Our taxpayer dollars are literally — for the first time in American history — our taxpayer dollars are going to facilitate the last leg of a child-trafficking event,” said Ballard.

“$14 million a day are landing in the pocket of smugglers and traffickers, thanks to the Biden-Harris border policy,” continued Ballard. “The only compassionate policy is border enforcement — barriers, walls. Why? And the ‘Sound of Freedom’ talks about this. Because the walls and the barriers lead the children who are being hurt into that funnel of rescue. Trained women and men in uniform are there. Those kids want to go through the port of entry. … Those kids pray for a wall. The wall will save their lives.”

The child liberator noted that the Biden administration tore “it all down.”

TheBlaze previously reported that leftist publications like Rolling Stone and the Guardian have desperately attacked “Sound of Freedom.”

Rolling Stone ran a hit piece entitled, “‘Sound of Freedom’ Is a Superhero Movie for Dads With Brainworms,” with the sub-headline, “The QAnon-tinged thriller about child-trafficking is designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”

Miles Klee, the Los Angeles-based culture writer responsible for the Rolling Stone article, accused the movie of “fomenting moral panic for years over this grossly exaggerated ‘epidemic’ of child sex-trafficking, much of it funneling people into conspiracist rabbit holes and QAnon communities.”

Despite previously reporting on some of the trends detailed in the film, the Guardian referred to the film as “the QAnon-adjacent thriller seducing America.”

Variety reported Sunday that the film had generated roughly $40 million after six days of release, ranking third on domestic box office charts despite playing at far fewer theaters than “Insidious” and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” which occupy the top two spots.

“Sound of Freedom” follows the true story of Special Agent Tim Ballard who specialized in catching

sex criminals, particularly in regard to the exploitation of children on the internet. But Tim is challenged early in the film by the seeming futility of catching criminals when real children’s lives are at stake. Years of looking at the darkest side of humanity has broken his heart to pieces, and the only way he can see to rebuild his humanity is by liberating the lost and forgotten victims of the sex trafficking network. He goes on a quest to South America to do just that.

Jim Caviezel plays Ballard. His classic no-frills acting approach is perfect for this role. Caviezel is best known for playing Jesus in Mel Gibson’s controversial “The Passion of the Christ.” He brings the same level of intensity and compassion from this role to Ballard’s story. In fact, Ballard’s mission to seek and save lost children is a distinctly Christian value based on the theological principle that each child is uniquely beloved by God.

When Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” he was making a revolutionary claim. Children, the most vulnerable and dependent members of society, had a special place in his kingdom. They mattered to him in a way that no other religious founder has ever envisioned. The faith of a child was the type of faith Jesus wanted from his followers — one free from the pollution and cynicism of adulthood, one of total dependence on their Heavenly Father.

These values aren’t universally understood and accepted. Ballard’s story is proof of that. According to the movie, the child sex industry brings in $150 billion dollars every year. This industry is powerful and is not nearly as niche as we would like to think it is. While its visible activists are milquetoast perverts we can easily jail, the invisible perpetrators are the ones who do the real damage — the cartels, drug lords, and even our own politicians enable the child sexual slavery that is more prominent now than ever before.

At the end of the film, Caviezel addresses the viewers and makes the point that this story isn’t about a movie production or even about Ballard. It’s about the children — lost, invisible children who suffer in the depths of hell every single day. While the rich and powerful try to indoctrinate us with critical race theory and other ideological moralisms, true victims suffer in literal cages and chains.

The children are by far the best and worst part of this film. The two lead child actors are heart-wrenchingly perfect — a brother and sister who have been ripped apart by this evil industry. I’ve never seen such realistic and effective acting from children. Thankfully, the film only ever implies the atrocious things that are done to them, but in some ways that makes it even more disturbing. Our imaginations torture us, and they should torture us on this issue — more than visual depictions could.

And that is what makes the child acting simultaneously the worst thing about this film. All the children seem like genuine children. None of them look like actors — they are presented to us with complete realism. If you have anything even resembling a conscience, watching these children is an utter tragedy. It is painful to see their pain on full display.

This film might not depict anything visually distasteful, but it is not for the weak-hearted and is difficult to watch. It is honest about what this world is and does. I heard crying throughout the entire theater audience — it is beyond moving. At the end of the film, I wanted to clap, but it felt inappropriate. It was similar to watching “Schindler’s List.” What exactly are we celebrating by clapping for films like this? The heroism I suppose, but it doesn’t feel right. Silent repose seemed to be the most appropriate response.

The film itself is magnificently produced. The direction by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Monteverde is fantastic and is tonally similar to the brilliant “Sicario.” However, the best part of the production is the score. It is full of the voices of children, which gives voice both to the lament of evil and the hope in the midst of it. And despite the pain, there is much hope in this film.

Children have been freed from chains due to the efforts of people like Ballard. That hope should inspire us all to action. We cannot act out of guilt or shame that we have not done more already. Instead, we must move forward in the hope that justice will be brought to this evil. It is possible to seek and save those who are lost.

During his message in the credits, Caviezel explains that “Sound of Freedom” is supposed to call a sleeping nation to seek justice for the oppressed. The United States is actually one of the largest consumers of child sex trafficking — a large part of the responsibility is in our own backyard.

So what can we do about it? First and foremost make sure people see this film. Angel Productions has even provided free tickets online. This story can change people’s hearts and inspire them to do something about child slavery. It is a call to action.

Early on in the film, Caviezel looks at a pedophile he’s using to try to find some of the lost children, and he quotes Jesus: “If anyone causes these little ones to stumble, it would be better for them if a millstone were hung around their neck.”

The current culture war is all about children. Children are the most important thing in the world. We cannot allow our world to be dominated by child sexual abuse. We must help. To quote the film, “God’s children are not for sale.”

Tucker Carlson: ‘Don’t Know’ Why Fired by Fox

Tucker Carlson says he “doesn’t know” why he was fired by Fox News but that he isn’t angry about it.

“Honestly, I don’t know,” Carlson said during an appearance Friday on actor Russell Brand’s podcast, “Stay Free,” the TV host’s first public interview since being fired by Fox in April. “They didn’t agree with me, of course, I don’t think.”

“It’s not the first time I’ve been fired … when you say what you think there’s an expectation you can get fired. I didn’t expect to get fired that morning at all, so I was shocked. But I wasn’t really shocked … I wasn’t mad,” he added.

“The only thing that bothers me? I’m 54. When you get a little bit older … you can lose your drive … It’s a little bit too nice,” he said of his extended vacation in Maine filled with fishing and late breakfasts. “My only fear has been … being a little bit too happy.”

Carlson during the wide-ranging interview also discussed the 2024 presidential election, electronic voting machines, the Jan. 6 Capitol incident, President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, and his new broadcasts on Twitter.

“Trump is the only person … who is saying: ‘Wait a second. You know, why are we supporting an endless war in Ukraine?'” he said of Trump’s criticism of the U.S.’s involvement.

“All I can say at this point is I’m so grateful that he has that position. He’s right. And everyone in Washington is wrong, everyone,” Carlson continued.

“Trump is right on that question … the war is reshaping the world. It’s reshaping the economy of the world. It’s reshaping populations,” he went on. “Later, Carlson said that U.S. had an unique power to force a peace in the conflict, but the powers that be refuse to do so.”

On immigration, Carlson said the Biden administration’s approach to the issue is “designed to wreck the country and make it unstable.”

“I’m not against immigrants, that’s insane. The way the U.S. is doing immigration is designed to wreck the country … and add to racial division which I hate because it’s not solvable. Our leaders not only want racial conflict but are stoking it,” he said.

He also said he was “hurt” the first time he was called a white supremacist.

The interview comes a week after Fox News paid $12 million to settle a former producer’s lawsuit claiming that Carlson’s show was an abusive place to work.

Missouri v. Biden Proves Corporate Media Lied About Big Tech’s Censorship Crusade Against Conservatives

Corporate media mocked widespread conservative outrage over online censorship as a “baseless” and misdirected ploy to gin up controversy and votes, but Missouri v. Biden proves Big Tech and the federal government colluded to suppress “millions of protected free speech postings by American citizens.”

There is hardly a lack of proof that Americans were the subject of years of government-led partisan purges on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media platforms.

Emails, documents, files, and statements show that it was often at the prompting of federal agencies such as the Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Census Bureau, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, the FBI, and the Department of Justice, as well as the White House, that Big Tech effectively silenced the voices of countless Americans on Covid-19, elections, and criticism of the Biden regime.

In his 155-page memorandum ruling handed down on July 4, Judge Terry Doughty, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, asserted that the attorneys general who brought the case will likely see victory in court with their claim that “the United States Government, through the White House and numerous federal agencies, pressured and encouraged social-media companies to suppress free speech.”

“Defendants used meetings and communications with social-media companies to pressure those companies to take down, reduce, and suppress the free speech of American citizens. They flagged posts and provided information on the type of posts they wanted suppressed. They also followed up with directives to the social-media companies to provide them with information as to action the company had taken with regard to the flagged post,” Doughty confirmed.

U.S. media should care about preserving the same constitutional amendment that protects their existence. Instead, outlets repeatedly insisted that online censorship — like critical race theory and mutilative gender experiments on minors — simply wasn’t happening. Any documented instances of muzzling, outlets claimed, only affected a few people and didn’t violate the First Amendment.

Even before lockdowns, BLM riots, and the 2020 election, corporate media outlets were smearing conservative claims of Big Tech censorship.

“Google and Facebook aren’t infringing on the right’s freedom of expression, but insisting otherwise is politically convenient,” the Atlantic asserted in 2019.

One year after the Atlantic claimed “there is no evidence” that Americans were suffering suppression of online speech, Pew Research found that “most Americans think social media sites censor political viewpoints.”

American suspicions that the government was involved in the censorship industrial complex only grew and were later confirmed by the “Twitter Files.” When corporate media weren’t ignoring the “Twitter Files” completely, outlets “repeatedly rolled eyesdismissed, and mocked [the revelations of censorship] as a nothingburger.”

Meanwhile, the Biden administration feigned innocence about its role in limiting Americans’ speech at the same time it was expanding its efforts to muzzle citizens. Corporate media proudly participated in blackouts on information like the Hunter Biden laptop, and other Democrats also joined in the smear campaign.

“It may be possible — if we can take off the tinfoil hat — that there is not a vast conspiracy,” Democrat Rep. Colin Allred of Texas said after the release of the “Twitter Files.”

Missouri v. Biden didn’t uncover a couple of instances of accidental deplatforming, as Big Tech, corporate media, and the Biden White House so often like to claim. Doughty confirmed that attorneys general provided “substantial evidence in support of their claims that they were the victims of a far-reaching and widespread censorship campaign.”

Not only that, but Doughty agreed that Big Tech’s decision to take down:

  • “Opposition to COVID-19 vaccines;
  • opposition to COVID-19 masking and lockdowns;
  • opposition to the lab-leak theory of COVID-19;
  • opposition to the validity of the 2020 election;
  • opposition to President Biden’s policies;
  • statements that the Hunter Biden laptop story was true;
  • and opposition to policies of the government officials in power” at the behest of the government appears blatantly partisan.

“It is quite telling that each example or category of suppressed speech was conservative in nature. This targeted suppression of conservative ideas is a perfect example of viewpoint discrimination of political speech,” Doughty wrote. “American citizens have the right to engage in free debate about the significant issues affecting the country.”

The First Amendment, Doughty wrote, was designed to protect an “uninhibited marketplace of ideas in which truth will ultimately prevail.” Yet, for years now, the federal government and Big Tech, with cover from corporate media, have repeatedly violated Americans’ right to that “uninhibited marketplace.”

Judge praised for ‘stunning’ July 4 rebuke of Biden admin on Big Tech censorship: ‘Finally’

Federal judge says White House likely violated First Amendment during COVID-19 pandemic

A federal judge is being applauded for a surprise July 4 ruling stating the Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment during the COVID-19 pandemic. U.S. District Court Judge Terry A. Doughty ordered an injunction on Independence Day to prevent White House officials and federal agencies from meeting with tech companies about social media censorship, arguing past actions likely violated the Constitution.

“I think that language reflects that this was a stunning rebuke, but also an appropriate one,” former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told “America’s Newsroom” Wednesday.

The holiday injunction was in response to recent lawsuits from Louisiana and Missouri attorneys general. The suits allege that the White House coerced or “significantly encourage[d]” tech companies to suppress free speech during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several federal officials and agencies – including some of Biden’s Cabinet members and White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre – have been barred from contacting social media companies in efforts to suppress speech. The injunction, which was obtained by Fox News, states that the government’s actions “likely violate the Free Speech Clause” and that the court “is not persuaded by Defendants’ arguments,” dealing a significant blow to the White House.

“I read this opinion yesterday, I couldn’t stop saying thank you. Finally,” OutKick founder Travis said on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday. “This is going to be incredibly difficult for the Biden administration to overturn.”

Video

“It’s unbelievable the amount of information, and the discovery that we were able to obtain through this particular case should concern all Americans, irrespective of their political ideology, their party affiliation,” Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry remarked earlier on the show.

The judge basically spells it out. He does it in this great 120-page opinion. He takes things step by step. He says, look, the government went out there and censored America’s speech on COVID-19, on vaccine policies, on mask mandates, on election questions, in the Hunter Biden laptop.”

“This is a completely direct violation of the First Amendment.”

Video

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, a period perhaps best characterized by widespread doubt and uncertainty, the United States Government seems to have assumed a role similar to an Orwellian ‘Ministry of Truth,’” Doughty wrote.

“If the allegations made by Plaintiffs are true, the present case arguably involves the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history,” the injunction adds. “In their attempts to suppress alleged disinformation, the Federal Government, and particularly the Defendants named here, are alleged to have blatantly ignored the First Amendment’s right to free speech.”

The injunction also claims that “the censorship alleged in this case almost exclusively targeted conservative speech,” but that issues the case raises are “beyond party lines.”

“Viewpoint discrimination is an especially egregious form of content discrimination,” Doughty argued. “The government must abstain from regulating speech when the specific motivating ideology or the perspective of the speaker is the rationale for the restriction.”

Video

The cases could mean that interactions between tech companies and government officials may be significantly limited in the future. Exceptions might include national security threats or criminal matters on social media.

Fox News Digital reached out to the White House, Google, Meta and Twitter for statements, but has not heard back. The Department of Justice declined to comment.

Some critics have challenged the ruling, with a Washington Post article warning the judge’s decision could “upend years of efforts to enhance coordination between the government and social media companies.”

Ratcliffe agreed with the sentiment but argued the judge is not the one to blame.

“The problem is in this case that the years of good work have been upended by social media executives and government officials who have abused that and the examples that we’ve just talked about. It’s ironic because The Washington Post is actually a coconspirator in that. It was the mainstream media, ironically, that was complicit in this abuse of the First Amendment and suppressing Americans’ free speech. So they did it to themselves that that’s the problem.”

“My take is that this is going to hold up on appeal, because everything that the plaintiffs in this case allege has been proven largely to be true,” Ratcliffe argued. “When you think about, with respect to COVID-19, everything from the origins of the lab leak, the efficacy of certain treatments, the transmissibility. You just heard President Biden talking about pandemic of the unvaccinated. All of that was frankly, wrong, and yet Americans ability to engage in honest debate about it was suppressed. And so you have these agencies with social media working to suppress the truth and amplify lies.”

“As the judge says, I truly do believe this is the greatest infringement on our First Amendment rights that any of us have seen occur in any of our lives. It cannot be allowed. And we’re finally getting judges pushing back,” Travis said.

Dick Morris to Newsmax: Biden Social Media Ruling ‘Most Important’

By Sandy Fitzgerald    |   Wednesday, 05 July 2023 03:11 PM EDT

A federal judge’s order for an injunction barring President Joe Biden’s administration from contacting social media companies and requesting censorship of some users may be “the most important decision of this year,” political strategist Dick Morris told Newsmax Wednesday.

“Certainly [it is] more important than even affirmative action,” Morris, the host of Newsmax’s “Dick Morris Democracy,” said on “John Bachman Now.”

Morris explained that the administration was using rules under the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which former President Donald Trump set up in 2018 to protect the United States grid against cyber attacks.

“Biden has completely changed it and made it an instrument for domestic surveillance,” said Morris. “CISA monitors all social media posts in the country and the world, and calls social media vendors to account and says on your platform, ‘You’re now running a statement that says that the COVID vaccine doesn’t work,’ or … what they’ll say is ‘You’re running something factually wrong that we want to change, that is not the administration line.'”

As a result, CISA has become a “muscle arm for social media censorship,” as have the CDC, the FBI, and the DOJ, said Morris.

Morris also responded to news that former GOP Rep. Denver Riggleman of Virginia has been working with Hunter Biden’s legal team while helping it with data analysis.

“Obviously he’ll assemble a legal team and obviously he has to say something,” said Morris. “The tax deal that he did was absolutely absurd … it completely misrepresents what Biden did.”

He also raised questions about the income the president and first lady reported in 2017 and 2018, when they reported income of $15 million and another $8 million from the sale of Biden’s book about his son who died.

“To do that, he would have had to sell 15 million books, and they sold 300,000,” said Morris. “Now there’s $10 million of income rattling around Biden’s tax return that nobody knows where it’s from. He claims it’s from the book, but it couldn’t be. And it’s not from his pension. It’s not from his vice presidential salary. It’s from unnamed sources. And that $10 million very possibly was the money that he got from Ukraine and from China that he dressed up as income from his book.”

The Biggest Threat To Democracy Is Media Hysterics About ‘Threats To Democracy’

The corporate media has added a new face to their exhaustive list of “threats to Democracy.” “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a threat to your health — and our democracy,” reads the headline of a recent Los Angeles Times column. According to disgraced L.A. Times journalist Michael Hiltzik, there are many “dangers” posed by RFK Jr. conducting a lawful and democratic campaign for president.

Hiltzik writes that Kennedy’s candidacy “will increase the political credibility of anti-vax claptrap,” and “could cut into the vote in 2024 for a responsible Democrat,” allowing “Trump or a Trump clone” to take office and deploy “thuggish attacks on diversity, inclusion and voting rights that have become the alpha and omega of GOP politics.”

Ah yes, curbing racist, culturally Marxist “diversity and inclusion” policies and enacting measures to protect the integrity of American elections is a serious threat to America. Do not be fooled. The media attacks on RFK Jr. have nothing to do with vaccine acceptance.

As I wrote Tuesday, asking questions, whether they be about vaccines or literally anything else, is a defining feature of a free society. RFK Jr. has every right to discuss vaccines, particularly when the medical establishment thinks they are above debate.

However, Hiltzik and his colleagues in the propaganda press aren’t really afraid of vaccine “misinformation.” The corporate media is primarily drumming up hysteria around RFK Jr.’s appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast because, as Hiltzik wrote, they perceive him as a threat to Biden’s 2024 presidential bid. In other words, RFK Jr.’s legitimate presidential campaign is a “threat to democracy” because it could help the opposition party win the upcoming presidential election and, ironically, throttle Democrats’ plan to erode the liberties prescribed in the Constitution.

The Media Is the Real Threat

Using the phrase “threat to democracy” as a way of protecting Democrats ahead of a presidential election is a media tradition at this point. Recall how the press promulgated the FBI-contrived Russia-collusion hoax, claiming former President Donald Trump was a “threat to democracy” in order to interfere in the 2016 election and discredit the Trump presidency after he was elected. Today, the media is still trying to thwart a Trump presidency by praising Biden for prosecuting his most probable 2024 opponent in, of course, the name of “democracy.”

[Watch: Democrats Conveniently Forget Their Party’s Long History Of Rejecting Election Results]

Ahead of the 2020 election, the media again interfered in a presidential election when they claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation” and a “threat to democracy” The laptop contained damning evidence that Hunter was engaging in sketchy foreign business dealings and that his father, presumably referred to as “the big guy,” was part of it.

Fast forward to today, congressional Republicans have uncovered significant evidence that then-Vice President Joe Biden and Hunter received multimillion-dollar payouts from a Ukrainian Burisma executive in exchange for influence over American foreign policy. If the allegations are true, they mean the sitting president of the United States sold out America and may still be compromised by foreign nationals.

Yet the institution so preoccupied with preserving democracy has done nothing to cover the Biden bribery scandal. Instead, the media has been obsessing over the deeply flawed Trump indictment and parroting White House talking points that Hunter was “held accountable” this week after he was charged with tax and firearm offenses.

[Read: Hunter Biden’s Plea Deal Is A Coverup Disguised As Justice]

Hunter was not “held accountable.” He received an excessively lenient plea deal for crimes many Americans are thrown behind bars for committing. More importantly, none of the charges have anything to do with the bribery scandal — rather, they appear to be a transparent ploy by the Department of Justice to cosplay as fair actors and distract the American people from the real Biden crimes.

The media could have done their job in 2020 and reported — or at the very least not lied about — the Hunter Biden laptop. Then maybe we wouldn’t have a president who appears to be compromised by foreign nationals and American adversaries. But the media didn’t want to report on it because they didn’t want Biden to lose in 2020.

For the propaganda press, “democracy” no longer means a form of government. It means the suppression of anything that threatens the left’s agenda or their candidates. Just a few examples of what the media considered a “threat to democracy” include Trump, half of the U.S. population, Ron DeSantis, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, lawfully conducted elections, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, poll watchers, Elon Musk, parents at school board meetings, pro-lifers, our bicameral legislature, free speech, and democracy itself.

Supposed “threat to democracy” are used by the left to actively call for the censorship of those who are willing to speak the truth. The legacy press encouraged Big Tech to censor the New York Post when the Hunter Biden laptop scandal broke, and they encouraged Big Tech to censor Joe Rogan’s RFK Jr. podcast.

The media feel justified in launching full-on assaults against the First Amendment because they’re entitled, believing they should be the sole arbiters of truth. In order to maintain a monopoly on information, they call for the annihilation of smaller media outlets or even random social media users who dare challenge their carefully curated narratives — all in the name of protecting “democracy.”

CNN Internal Survey Shows Viewers Lost Trust In Network Over ‘Sensational’ Covid Coverage

a CNN logo on a wall

Viewers lost trust in CNN due to its left-wing bias and histrionic Covid reporting, according to a 2022 survey commissioned by the network. Despite collecting bogus awards for “fact-checking,” and “special achievements” for “placing a premium” on investigative reporting, the network failed to maintain the trust of the American people — to the point where its own internal survey exposed its epic shortcomings.

A partial copy of CNN’s survey was cited by Semafor’s Max Tani, who noted that the three highest causes of mistrust were “liberal bias,” the “Chris Cuomo situation,” and the network’s Covid coverage. According to Tani, the report showed respondents “across the ideological spectrum” lambasting CNN’s “dire” and “overly dramatic and sensational” reporting.

In utter detachment from the real world, legacy media toadies rewarded the untrustworthy network. CNN’s chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who was central to the network’s Covid sensationalism and fake fact-checking, received an award for “excellence in political journalism” and was praised for “accurate information.” Meanwhile, the CNN team that reported from Chinese quarantine received an award named after a reporter murdered in the Greek Civil War.

[READ: If You Want To Know Why Conservatives Don’t Trust Media, Watch CNN]

News of the report comes as network CEO Chris Licht faces significant criticism for his response to CNN’s Covid coverage, which was aired in a feature by The Atlantic. In it, Licht — who reportedly “felt he was on a mission to restore the network’s reputation for serious journalism” — admitted CNN’s coverage began with a desire to help people in a confusing pandemic era but was ultimately driven by “ratings.” He has since apologized for his remarks, but CNN’s own survey results suggest his statements were based on public sentiment and statistics known to the company.

Outside sources confirm trust in CNN is declining. A Statista survey released a few months before Licht’s hiring last year showed only 20 percent of Americans placed “a lot” of trust in CNN — and it hasn’t improved under the new CEO. In April, YouGov found that only 13 percent of U.S. adults consider CNN “very trustworthy.”

Kickstarter suspends illustrated novel ‘defying transgenderism’ after project was fully funded

“The Wise of Heart” by Hans G. Schantz (Image Source: Hans Schantz YouTube video screenshot)

Crowdfunding platform Kickstarter recently suspended an illustrated novel project about “defying transgenderism” after the campaign was fully funded.

The author of the project, Hans G. Schantz, stated that his comic was canceled by Kickstarter after initially being reviewed and approved by the company. It was not until after the illustrated novel reached its $3,000 crowdfunding goal that the project was booted from the website.

Schantz said that he increased the novel’s goal to $6,000 before the project reached its May 31 deadline, but Kickstarter shut down the campaign, claiming that it had violated the site’s community rules.

The illustrated novel, “The Wise Heart,” follows the story of a biology teacher who is “thrown in jail for defying transgenderism” and subsequently “faces a show trial amid a media circus.”

Kickstarter Trust and Safety sent Schantz a “generic note” alerting him that his project would no longer be promoted. Backers of the campaign will no longer be charged for their pledges.

“A thorough review of your project uncovered one or more of the following violations: Inappropriate content, including but not limited to explicit or pornographic material [or] Hateful or offensive content that fails to meet Kickstarter’s spirit of inclusivity by promoting discrimination, bigotry or intolerance towards marginalized groups,” Kickstarter told Schantz.

The platform cannot comment on suspension “beyond what is stated in this message,” according to the company’s Trust and Safety.

The author accused the crowdfunding site of failing to live up to its own “inclusivity” standards.

“It’s sad that Kickstarter lacks a sufficient spirit of diversity and inclusion to be willing to tolerate an objective look at the scientific and political issues surrounding transgenderism as presented in the context of a courtroom drama,” Schantz wrote on Substack.

“I infer they received a complaint, the substance of which I was not privy to and took unilateral action without allowing me any input,” he continued. “No due process, no ability to face my accusers or even to be informed of the nature of the accusation. The fact that Kickstarter waited until after the project was already fully funded and nearing a close is a more disturbing trend. Creators would be wise to to [sic] deal with platforms more worthy of their trust.”

“The conduct of Kickstarter in particular and big tech companies in general raise broader issues of how the rule of law has devolved in an online context to sanction injustices that would not be tolerated in a more conventional setting. A contract that allows one party to unilaterally withdraw from the deal already agreed to after the other party has detrimentally relied upon their assurances would not typically be enforceable,” Schantz added.

Since being removed from Kickstarter, Schantz moved his campaign to an alternative crowdfunding platform, Fund My Comic, to assist with funding his project.

Kickstarter did not respond to a request for comment, Fox News Digital reported.

The Wise of Heart is crowdfunding on Kickstarter right now. With just a week to go, the 80,000-word illustrated novel is about $225 shy of its $3,000 goal. It needs just a little bit more help, and it’ll be well worth it if readers can push it across the line. This isn’t Schantz’s first rodeo, either. In addition to his previously published works, he’s scheduled to be involved in an interesting event later this year. Keep reading until the end to find out what that is. First, though, there’s the new book.

The Wise of Heart reworks the story of the hundred-year-old Scopes Monkey Trial amid today’s transgender mania,” Schantz told BIC. “A high school biology teacher, Mike Andrews, agrees to participate in a court challenge to a law forbidding the teaching of biological science. [However], the law isn’t forbidding evolution—as in the original Scopes Trial—but rather the teaching of the biology of sex determination in defiance of a state mandate for gender affirmation.”

“The result is a deft and devastating satire that flips the script on the original Scopes Trial as depicted in movies like Inherit the Wind,” he continued. “Instead of the enlightened advocates of progressive evolutionary biology exposing the supposed ignorance of the superstitious religious town folk, The Wise of Heart is all about how today’s progressive advocates of gender affirmation defy the truths of biological science.”

Schantz provided more details on the plot. “The story opens in a small-town diner as the school superintendent, ringleader of the local cabal, persuades the mayor and the local university president to support his plan to challenge the ‘Gender Awareness in Academia’ or GAIA Act. The university president recruits an out-of-town ringer to lead the prosecution, her former student, Senator Roxy Castillo, leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.”

“Not to be outdone, the superintendent secures the services of Castillo’s archrival, Senator Chad Travis from Texas, to head up the defense,” Schantz added. “The resulting trial becomes a media circus with a Greek chorus of reporters and commentators popping up between court sessions to casually lie and spin the narrative in their desired direction.”

It’s not all about the subject matter, though. “One of the most interesting characters is Mike’s girlfriend, Acey, whose mother is the university president, and who faces the challenge of trying to find some middle ground,” he explained. “The courtroom drama is a fight to the finish on the science and politics, but serves as a catalyst for a number of great character arcs and conflict-driven personal growth.”

Interested readers who back this will not only be the first in line for a copy of the book, but they’ll also help Schantz fund the bold line drawings by artist Elin Chancey that help bring the story to life. Additionally, an extensive sample, including a couple dozen episodes, is already available both on Substack and Arktoons. There’s also an extended trailer that further explains the story and showcases the art.

Again, Schantz isn’t a new author. His sci-fi techno-thriller series, The Hidden Truth, has proven to be popular. And he writes non-fiction as well. Beyond that, he takes the time and effort to run book sales for indie authors on a regular basis. And they highlight some fantastic works that BIC readers will undoubtedly enjoy.

And that interesting event he’s scheduled to be involved in later this year? That would be BasedCon, which “is a gathering for authors and fans of science fiction and fantasy.” It’s currently planned for September somewhere in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Where exactly? You have to register for the event to find out that info.

The event has already gained attention because it’s a con for those who are “tired of woke propaganda.” Is that a good thing or bad thing? Who knows, at this point? Right now, though, it looks like it’s going to have a significant lineup of guests. Those interested in sci-fi and fantasy will definitely want to check out the website for additional info.

But first things first. And that’s Schantz’s The Wise of Heart. It’s received an incredible amount of backing already. All it needs is a final few supporters to hit that $3,000 goal. Any amount that people can provide helps, and so does spreading word about the book on social media.

Joy Behar blasted by Black Republicans over claim Tim Scott ‘doesn’t get’ racism: ‘Sit this one out’

‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar compared Sen. Tim Scott to Clarence Thomas on Tuesday and argued they both don’t ‘get it.’

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., and others including Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., blasted “The View” co-host Joy Behar on Tuesday after she claimed Scott “doesn’t get” racism while comparing him to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

“He’s one of these guys, like Clarence Thomas, Black Republican, who believes in pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, rather than understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities. He doesn’t get it. Neither does Clarence. That’s why they’re Republicans,” she said Tuesday during “The View.”

Responding to a clip of Behar’s comments on Twitter, Scott said that he is the candidate the “radical Left fears the most,” echoing a statement he made during his 2024 campaign announcement.

“When a Black conservative who believes in the future of this nation stands up to be counted, they lose their minds,” he said.

Congressman Donalds called out Behar over her comments as well and noted photos of “The View” host dressed up as a Black woman for Halloween, which resurfaced in 2019.

“Joy, dressing up as a Black woman for Halloween with dark paint on your face doesn’t magically make you Black or make you an expert on what it’s like to be Black. From one Black person to another White liberal who got a pass for wearing Black face, sit this one out,” he wrote in response to a clip of Behar.

Other conservative commentators took issue with Behar’s remarks as well.

“Attention black Americans: don’t even *think* about having a mind of your own or else this wealthy white lady will come for you,” Scott Jennings, a senior CNN commentator, wrote on Twitter in response to a clip of Behar’s remarks.

Scott officially launched his 2024 presidential campaign on Monday and referenced multiple instances of criticism from the left during his announcement speech.

“I’m the candidate the far left fears the most,” Scott said. “When I cut your taxes, they called me a prop. When I re-funded the police, they called me a token. When I pushed back on President Biden, they even called me the n-word. I disrupt their narrative. I threaten their control. The truth of my life disrupts their lies!”

“The View” co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin also criticized Scott on Monday

“One of the issues that Tim Scott has is that he seems to think, ‘Because I made it, everyone can make it.’ Ignoring, again, the fact that he’s the exception and not the rule. And until he’s the rule, then he can stop talking about systemic racism,” Hostin said.

Goldberg said he had “Clarence Thomas syndrome.”

Scott told Fox News that Hostin had it backward when she claimed his story is “the exception, not the rule.”

“We have to ignore the far left by disproving their lies by our actions. Here’s the funny thing: The host, Sunny, she wants to be judged by the content of her character, not the color of her skin. The fact of the matter is America is a story of evolution — a never-told story of evolution in too many of our schools that are indoctrinating our kids instead of educating our kids,” he added.

Target holds ’emergency’ meeting over LGBTQ merchandise in some stores to avoid ‘Bud Light situation’

FIRST ON FOX — Some southern Target stores were forced by the corporation to move LGBTQ Pride merchandise away from the front of their locations after customer “outrage” to avoid a “Bud Light situation.”

Many Target locations across the country feature massive June Pride month displays on an annual basis, with items this year ranging from “tuck friendly” bathing suits for transgender people to mugs that say “gender fluid.” But the retail juggernaut has been criticized by some conservatives for the displays, with children’s items particularly irking many customers.

A Target insider told Fox News Digital that many locations, mostly in rural areas of the South, have relocated Pride sections to avoid the kind of backlash Bud Light has received in recent weeks after using a transgender influencer in a promotional campaign.

A Target insider said there were “emergency” calls on Friday and that some managers and district senior directors were told to tamp down the Pride sections immediately.

“We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage,” the Target insider said.

“We call our customers ‘guests,’ there is outrage on their part. This year, it is just exponentially more than any other year,” the Target insider continued. “I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation.”

The insider, who has worked at the retailer for almost two decades, said Target rarely makes such hasty decisions. They said Friday’s call began with roughly 10 minutes on “how to deal with team member safety” because of the amount of backlash the Pride merchandise has generated, noting that Target Asset Protect & Corporate Security teams were present on the call.

“The call was super quick, it was 15 minutes. The first 10 minutes was about how to keep your team safe and not having to advocate for Target. The last five was, ‘Move this to the back, take down the mannequins and remove the signage,’” the insider said, noting that bathing suits have replaced Pride merchandise in front-of-store displays despite Pride month not even starting until June 1.

“It’s all under the guise of trying to increase swim sales,” the insider said. “Everyone was like, ‘Thank God,’ because we’re all on the front lines dealing with it.”

Target did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

BUD LIGHT IN ‘SERIOUS TROUBLE’ OF LOSING STATUS AS TOP-SELLING BEER IN US, INDUSTRY EXPERT WARNS

Fox News Digital has confirmed rural Target stores in South Carolina, Arkansas and Georgia are among the locations to move the Pride sections. Most rank-and-file employees were left in the dark, with many not knowing the Pride sections would be moved until they noticed it themselves.

Pride merchandise remains prominently displayed at other locations and on the Target website.

Target Pride merchandise includes female-style swimsuits that can be used to “tuck” male genitalia. Some products are also labeled as “Thoughtfully fit on multiple body types and gender expressions.”

Pride merchandise also includes onesies and rompers for newborn babies, a variety of adult clothing with slogans such as “Super Queer,” party supplies, home decor, multiple books and a “Grow At Your Own Pace” saucer planter.

Bud Light sales have plummeted since backlash to the partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney has continued to haunt the company more than a month since it came to light. The issue began when Mulvaney publicized that the beer company sent packs of Bud Light featuring the influencer’s face as a way to celebrate a full year of “girlhood.” Mulvaney is one of many social media influencers Bud Light has tapped to promote the brand.

Mulvaney said the cans were her “most prized possession” on Instagram with a post that featured “#budlightpartner.” A video then featured Mulvaney in a bathtub drinking a Bud Light beer as part of the campaign. Some consumers mistakenly thought the cans with Mulvaney’s face were being sold to the public.

“Bud Light learned an important lesson about wading into the culture wars recently. But partnering with Dylan Mulvaney is nothing compared to what Target is doing,” conservative pundit and author Bethany Mandel tweeted.

CNN execs reportedly ‘put fear of God’ into CNN reporter for coverage of Trump town hall: ‘Visibly shaken’

CNN executives reportedly dressed down reporter Oliver Darcy for “emotional” coverage of the network’s town hall with former President Donald Trump. After the town hall last Wednesday, Darcy appeared to question the judgement of CNN leaders who decided that hosting Trump, a 2024 presidential candidate, would be a good idea for the network, let alone the country.

“It’s hard to see how America was served by the spectacle of lies that aired on CNN Wednesday evening,” wrote Darcy in the opening of the Reliable Sources newsletter after the town hall.

He added:

While [moderator Kaitlan] Collins is largely receiving praise for her relentless fact-checking of the former president, she was facing an impossible task.

CNN and new network boss Chris Licht are facing a fury of criticism — both internally and externally over the event. How Licht and other CNN executives address the criticism in the coming days and weeks will be crucial. Will they defend what transpired at Saint Anselm College? Or will they express some regret? For now, CNN is defending itself.

On Thursday, Darcy and his editor were summoned to a meeting with CNN executives. At the meeting were CEO Chris Licht and other executives responsible for communications and editorial. According to media reporter Dylan Byers, Darcy was told in no uncertain terms that “his coverage had been too emotional.” The executives reportedly instructed Darcy that he should remain “dispassionate” — i.e., not overly emotional but impartial — in all his work, whether writing about CNN or any other media organization.

Sources further told Byers that during the meeting, “Darcy stood by his work and pushed back on the ’emotional’ characterization.” But after the meeting, Darcy was “visibly shaken,” the sources added.

“They put the fear of God into him,” one source said.

Semafor later reported that the meeting ended “cordially,” with Licht offering his support for Darcy. Still, according to Semafor, Darcy “has wondered to colleagues whether he should resign or if he will be fired by the network” since the meeting and news of it broke. But a CNN spokesperson said Darcy will remain with the network.

“Oliver does not intend to resign and his newsletter will be out per usual this evening,” CNN spokesperson Matt Dornic said.

In New Video, Tucker Carlson Announces Upcoming Show on Twitter

Tucker Carlson

Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News prime-time host who was ripped from the airwaves last month, announced Tuesday he will be taking his show to Twitter.

“There aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson said in a three-minute video he tweeted. “The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter, where we are now.”

Carlson gave few details about the “new version” of his former Fox program but added, “We’ll be bringing some other things too, which we’ll tell you about.”

“But for now we’re just grateful to be here,” Carlson said. As of Wednesday morning, the clip has racked up 78 million views.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk clarified the platform signed no official agreement with Carlson, which could have potentially violated the cable news host’s contract with Fox. The network sidelined its No. 1 prime-time host two years before the expiration of Carlson’s employment agreement, meaning they will be paying him $20 million a year not to do his show.

“On this platform, unlike the one-way street of broadcast, people are able to interact, critique, and refute whatever is said,” Musk wrote in a tweeted statement. “I also want to be clear that we have not signed a deal of any kind whatsoever.”

The exact reasons for Carlson’s abrupt departure remain unknown. Carlson’s last public appearance before going off the air was in the outskirts of Washington, D.C. The 53-year-old broadcaster gave the keynote speech for the Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary gala. Carlson criticized Big Tech’s influence over public opinion by way of censorship.

[READ: Tucker Carlson: ‘Information Control’ Via Internet Censorship Is A Huge Problem For Democracy]

Twitter, however, “has long served as a place where our national conversation incubates and develops,” Carlson said in his Tuesday video. “Twitter is not a partisan site, everybody’s allowed here, and we think that’s a good thing.”

Carlson’s ouster from Fox News last month triggered an immediate nosedive in network ratings. Meanwhile, leftists celebrated, and a far-left member of Congress cheered “deplatforming works.”

“Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy,” New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told her 8.6 million followers on Instagram. “Deplatforming works and it is important, and there you go. Good things can happen.”

White House Blocks New York Post Reporter From Rare Biden Event

The White House blocked the New York Post from covering a Monday public event with President Joe Biden, according to the paper, a sign the president’s team is increasingly sensitive to coverage of the president’s son, Hunter Biden, and could be cracking down on media access after the launch of his reelection campaign.

The Post, which first revealed the existence of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop in October of 2020, said the White House rejected its request to attend Biden’s press event discussing airline policies with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. The decision comes as federal prosecutors are wrapping up a tax investigation into Hunter Biden, which could result in criminal charges in the coming days.

Photos from the event show there were about 20 empty media seats, undermining the explanation from the White House press office for the decision to block the Post.

“We are unable to accommodate your credential request to attend the Investing in Airline Accountability Remarks on 5/8,” the White House press office told the Post. “The remarks will be live-streamed and can be viewed at WH.gov. Thank you for understanding. We will let you know if a credential becomes available.”

Biden—who has held the fewest press availabilities of any president in two decades—in February blew up at a Post reporter after the reporter asked during a similar media event about the first family’s financial dealings with China. “Give me a break, man,” Biden said, ignoring the question. “You can come to my office and ask a question when you have more polite people with you.”

Steven Nelson, the Post reporter who was denied access, told the Washington Free Beacon that Biden’s staff are “setting an anti-press freedom precedent by prescreening journalists allowed to attend large indoor events. These spaces were open to all reporters on White House grounds in the past.”

He noted that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre promised last July to end a much-criticized COVID-era screening process that gave Biden’s press office control over which reporters were allowed to attend presidential remarks. Reporters accused the White House of arbitrarily enforcing the policy, saying it was “done without any transparent process into how reporters are selected to cover these events” in a letter last June.

“The White House Correspondents’ Association also has called on the administration to restore large indoor spaces to their historical status as open to all,” added Nelson. “If the Biden White House continues to discriminate against large outlets such as the New York Post, future administrations can do the same to other newspapers. It should end now.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The White House Correspondents’ Association also did not respond to a request for comment.

Another Day, Another Shoddy Politico Hit Piece Aimed at the Conservative Legal Movement

BY: DAVID HARSANYI | MAY 02, 2023

Read more at https://thefederalist.com/2023/05/02/another-day-another-shoddy-politico-hit-piece-aimed-at-the-conservative-legal-movement/

The Federalist Society

Every day a new hatchet job aimed at justicesjudges, and the conservative legal movement appears in the corporate media. The purpose of this coordinated campaign, as we saw today during the Senate’s judiciary hearings, is to provide more fodder to delegitimize the court and intimidate jurists.

Now, activist groups have always shopped oppo research to journalists. Most of it is so absurdly unpersuasive that no self-respecting writer, partisan or not, would take ownership of it. These days, though, with little quality control and virtually no consequences for spreading false partisan attacks, a person without journalistic ethics can probably build a career on the stuff.

Which brings me to Heidi Przybyla’s new piece at Politico: “Leonard Leo used Federalist Society contact to obtain $1.6 billion donation.” This is her second hit piece in a week — in the first, she couldn’t decipher/purposely misrepresented Neil Gorsuch’s financial disclosure form.

This one begins like so:

“Leonard Leo, who helped to choose judicial nominees for former President Donald Trump, obtained a historic $1.6 billion gift for his conservative legal network via an introduction through the Federalist Society, whose tax status forbids political activism.”

It’s difficult to untangle the accusation being leveled here. The three chilling components of the tale — “Donald Trump,” the “$1.6 billion gift,” and the “Federalist Society” — all make for good conspiratorial copy, but they have nothing to do with each other in the context of this story.

Basically, a well-known Washington operative named Leonard Leo was introduced to a prospective donor by his old Federalist Society coworker. According to the piece, which is thin on specifics, it looks like Leo, who had helped Trump with his originalist judicial nominees, convinced Barre Seid to give him funding instead of the Federalist Society, which he promised to disseminate more effectively. That’s it.

Who knows, maybe Przybyla is under the impression that it’s illegal for one-time employees of 501(c)(3)s to interact with any prospective political donors they meet through old acquaintances. Maybe she thinks prospective donors to tax-exempt groups are forever prohibited from speaking or giving to any political operatives. Maybe she thinks there are a special set of rules only conservatives must follow. But dropping the words “tax status forbids political activism” at the top of the story is clearly meant to insinuate that some unscrupulous behavior will be exposed.

Sorry. All we learn after reading the 1700-word piece is that a bunch of normal Washington, D.C. fundraising stuff is happening and that no one broke any law or did anything unethical. The point of the piece, as it is with the recent spate of these stories, is to create the impression of unethical behavior. Specifics aren’t important. That’s why the story is padded with journalistic-sounding red herrings and a string of scary words like “dark money” — a term favored by activist journalists who want to make completely legal and ethical contributions to completely legitimate political causes sound creepy, illicit, ominous, and unsavory.

According to Przybyla, for example, the pro-court packing smear outfit Demand Justice is a “progressive judicial group.” Leo, on the other hand, helms a “dark money vehicle,” a “dark money group,” and even a “dark money network,” all phrases that appear in this one Politico piece. “Dark money” is mentioned seven times in case you miss its first six appearances.

In the end, the real crimes here are that conservatives are raising money and that a “conservative” legal movement has experienced some success and stands in the way of unconstitutional, progressive policy goals. That makes leftists angry. That’s the story.

Transgender reporter tries to defend Chelsea Clinton and inadvertently proves she’s pushing ‘porn’ for children in public schools

A far-left transgender reporter was mocked and ridiculed after she inadvertently proved critics of Chelsea Clinton right after she criticized restrictions on controversial LGBTQ books in public schools. Clinton waded into the contentious debate over inappropriate books about gender and sexuality in libraries meant for children, and a reporter from Media Matters for America came to her rescue.

“Over 50% of the attempted book bans last year involved books with LGBTQ+ characters & themes. Books are a vital way that children, adolescents and adults learn about themselves and our world. Bans such as these are nothing but harmful,” Clinton tweeted with an article about the book restrictions.

In the thumbnail of the image was prominently displayed a controversial book entitled, “Gender Queer,” a book that has been targeted by those opposing inappropriate LGBTQ books for children. The book is described in the NBC News article as a chronicle of “nonbinary author Maia Kobabe’s journey of self-identity,” but it doesn’t mention a very graphic scene of oral sex in the book, a graphic novel.

The article does quote Kobabe as saying that the book’s message is “vital” and “lifesaving” for some children, even though Kobabe admits that some parts are not appropriate for grade school children. When Clinton was called out by Seth Dillon of the Babylon Bee, the Media Matters LGBTQ director reflexively defended her.

“Chelsea Clinton has come out in favor of porn for kids,” tweeted Dillon.

“Weird way to tell us you’re yanking it to children’s books, Seth,” responded Ari Drennen.

Dillon then posted a page of the very graphic sexual imagery from the book that Chelsea Clinton was supporting, and Drennen called it out for what it was.

“Imagine how sick and depraved you have to be to call this a children’s book,” replied Dillon.

“Hey Seth I think you meant this for my DMs, you just sent me an unsolicited drawing of a blowjob,” Drennen tweeted.

“So, your position is that you’re sexually harassing another man and you think *that* will go over better with your audience? Stop sending me this stuff Seth, it’s creepy,” Drennen said in another tweet.

In 2021, the book was targeted by critics after it was found at the library of the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. The author defended the book by citing ancient Greek poetry and pottery art.

Jason Whitlock Op-ed: Bill Maher’s Elon Musk interview reveals the comedian’s role in the woke pandemic

JASON WHITLOCK | May 02, 2023

Bill Maher is the Dr. Fauci of the “woke mind virus.”

For more than two decades, Maher’s HBO laboratory, “Real Time,” sponsored the gain-of-function research that led to the nationwide outbreak of the woke mindset and its primary variant, critical race theory.

While building a brand as the most virtuous, Barack Obama-supporting white liberal in America, Maher hosted panel discussions featuring all the properly credentialed racial, climate, and feminist scientists elite academia produced.

Maher’s lab thumbed its nose at the working class, preferring multimillionaire Michael Moore’s perspective on people living check to check. When Donald Trump rose to power speaking directly to and for the very people Maher and elites ignored, the liberal comedian told his audience to wear a MAGA-canceling mask and watch MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes as a vaccine and booster.

Maher created the religion of woke. It’s disconcerting watching him disavow and distance himself from the virus his lab leaked with countless batsh*t conversations.

This past Friday, Maher interviewed billionaire serial entrepreneur Elon Musk on “Real Time.” The gist of their exchange dealt with the now-obvious danger of the woke mind virus. Maher, the creator of it, has spent much of the last two years positioning himself as a woke whistleblower. He relentlessly attacks the woke without ever addressing his lab’s role in spreading the virus.

Maher’s Friday show highlighted a level of cognitive dissonance that is well beneath his intellect. It’s quite similar to the cognitive dissonance displayed by Fauci and others when they continue to promote Big Pharma’s experimental medical trials, aka vaccines.

Let me be clear. I like Bill Maher. I’ve watched his HBO show for years. I appreciate that he criticizes the woke. I’m just disappointed he won’t discuss the root cause of wokeness. Elon Musk gave Maher every opportunity to address the root cause when, at the behest of Maher, Musk defined the woke mind virus.

“I think we have to be very cautious about anything that is anti-meritocratic and anything that results in the suppression of free speech,” Musk said. “Those are two aspects of the woke mind virus that I think are very dangerous.”

Musk, the new owner of Twitter, explained that Americans must be vigilant in their protection of free speech, especially speech we do not like.

What is Donald Trump’s primary sin? Publicly stating things people find inappropriate or do not want to hear. Trump’s oral and written behavior justified banning him from all social media platforms. That’s a woke mindset. The woke desperately try to control what people think and say. They’re quicker to forgive violent criminal behavior than a thought crime.

Maher’s Trump derangement made him an ally and supporter of the enemies of the First Amendment.

A little later in the interview, Musk told a story about a friend’s high school daughter who knew next to nothing about the accomplishments of George Washington. All she knew about the first president was that he owned slaves.

“The amount of indoctrination that’s happening in schools and universities is far beyond what parents realize,” Musk complained. “I came to realize this somewhat late. The experience we had in high school and college is not the experience that kids today are having, and it hasn’t been for 10 years, maybe 20 years.”

Those same indoctrination tactics are played out across corporate media. Donald Trump has been reduced to his irreverent and inappropriate tweets. Like George Washington, Trump has been reduced to his bad behavior. There’s virtually no discussion of his policies and what they produced or intended to produce.

I like Trump because of his America First agenda, a pledge and a set of policies designed to bring manufacturing jobs back to America. My parents were check-to-check union factory workers. When I hear the slogan “Make America Great Again,” that’s what I think of and desire.

President Joe Biden – at least publicly – is relatively well behaved. He doesn’t say or tweet mean things. That’s nice. But I’m frustrated with what his policies and agenda produce.

Biden’s obsession with racial, gender, and sexual identity produces an attack on free speech and a merit-based work culture. Democrats are the leaders promoting censorship and limiting free speech. Democrats are the leaders naming vice presidents, press secretaries, supreme court justices, secretaries of transportation, and assistant secretaries of health based on race, sexual orientation, and gender ideology.

Kamala Harris, Karine Jean-Pierre, Kentanji Brown Jackson, Pete Buttigieg, and Rachel Levine didn’t earn their positions. They were installed to make a statement about how virtuous Biden and Democrats are.

It’s a level of narcissism that far exceeds Trump’s. The American agenda takes a back seat to Biden’s reputation and the Democratic Party brand.

The woke mind is narcissistic. It prioritizes itself above country. Maher can see it in Trump. Maher can’t see it in himself or apparently any leftist.

Maher should watch his Friday show. In his opening monologue, he cracked a joke about Joe Biden’s intention to run for president again in 2024.

“Elections are all about getting your base excited,” Maher said. “[Biden] made the announcement in drag, wearing a mask, and drinking a Bud Light.”

According to Maher, Biden’s base is drag queens, wimps afraid of COVID, and transgenders such as Dylan Mulvaney, the 26-year-old trans actor Biden and Bud Light have been promoting.

Biden’s agenda and policies are catering to his base. And you wonder why the MAGA movement won’t go away?

MAGA is the woke vaccine. Bill Maher and the rest of the elite establishment – Democrats and Republicans – are the real anti-vaxxers. They’re uniparty. They hate the working class or anyone willing to challenge their authority.

Megyn Kelly Warns Tucker: Fox Trying to Destroy You

By Eric Mack    |   Tuesday, 02 May 2023 03:07 PM EDT

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/megyn-kelly-tucker-carlson-fox-news/2023/05/02/id/1118294/

She could not have been more blunt about it.

Megyn Kelly is warning Tucker Carlson that Fox News’ head of public relations is running “an orchestrated hit job” to smear him. Kelly, a former Fox host, took to her podcast and said Fox’s PR department is working overtime to stop Carlson’s future employment and keep his 3.5 million viewers from following him to a new network.

“This is all an orchestrated hit job, in my opinion, and it’s not a subtle one,” Kelly claimed on Monday night’s “The Megyn Kelly Show.”

“It’s not enough to fire you,” Kelly said on her highly rated podcast.

“You must be destroyed, and it doesn’t matter how nice a guy you were, how many points you put on the board for the channel, that you brought us through the Trump years, that you were No. 1 in your time slot, that you haven’t said one negative word about us.”

Kelly laid the blame not at the feet of the company’s controlling shareholders, the Murdoch family, but Fox’s notorious public relations department headed by Irena Briganti, the network’s senior vice president for communication.

“You will be destroyed to settle some angry, bitter internal PR hack’s personal vendetta against you,” Kelly said. “And, if she managed to convince the bosses, the Murdochs, that he’s not good for them either, that he may have called them a name or two: So much the better.

“That’s what I think’s going on here.”

Carlson has already been hit with a barrage of leaks to tarnish his image, including a report in Fox’s sister company newspaper The Wall Street Journal claiming he was abusive and used crude language with his colleagues.

Another leak included a studio video of Carlson badmouthing Fox Nation, blasting the company for making them work “like animals” for an online product that “nobody watches” because the “site sucks.”

Kelly said she believes the leak of the video somewhat critical of their own network’s offering is clever, since it signals to future employers, including its fiercest rival Newsmax: “So, you see: He’s a hassle; he’s a difficult employee; he’s not a team player; he rips on you from the inside.”

Kelly added Fox’s smear campaign comes as its “basement, toilet numbers” have the network fearing another destination might not only get Carlson back in primetime but get all his 3.5 million viewers with him.

Kelly was once a Fox News prime-time host, still has contacts at the network, and now shares a lawyer with Carlson, Bryan Freedman. Reportedly Freedman is representing Carlson as the host negotiates the settlement of the remaining years on his Fox contract.

Kelly said it is getting ugly for Carlson because viewers are clearly fleeing the network, especially for Newsmax.

“It’s not going well for Fox News at 8 p.m., at all, which is the understatement of the year,” Kelly said.

Earlier in the show, Kelly suggested she knew the nexus of the anti-Carlson campaign at Fox News.

“So, they first leaked to The New York Times: This is my supposition, for the record, because it hasn’t been yet confirmed, but I know it’s them,” Kelly said.

“And I know it’s Irena Briganti, who runs coms and f*****g hates Tucker. Sorry. She hates his guts. And it’s mutual. He doesn’t like her, either. None of us do. Nobody likes Irena.”

Briganti has been one of the major executives to survive Roger Ailes leadership, as numerous women came forward to allege improprieties at the network only to find themselves being attacked in the press through “leaks.”

New York magazine reported shortly after Ailes 2016 ouster that “Fox anchors and producers live in fear of crossing Briganti, who is known for leaking damaging personal stories about Fox employees to journalists.

“Several Fox women told me that one of the reasons they did not speak up about sexual harassment in the past was that they were terrified Briganti would find out and smear them in the press,” New York magazine’s Gabriel Sherman wrote.

Newsmax reached out to Fox News’ Briganti via email for a request for comment but has not immediately heard back.

Chuck Todd gets slapped with basic lesson in biology when he challenges Vivek Ramaswamy on the trans agenda

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy gave NBC News anchor Chuck Todd a basic lesson in biology on Sunday on the issue of biological sex. During an interview on “Meet the Press,” Todd questioned Ramaswamy on his position that affirming gender confusion in children and teenagers is not compassionate, but “cruelty.”

“What makes it compassionate to pass a law that denies a parent making their own health care decision for their kid?” Todd asked.

Pointing out that many that laws already exist limiting what minors can do with their bodies — such as purchasing and consuming tobacco — Ramaswamy told Todd, “I think it’s perfectly legitimate to say that we won’t allow genital mutilation or chemical castration through puberty blockers for the purpose of transition.”

That’s when Todd invoked biology.

“You’re calling it that. But how do you know it’s that? Are you confident that you know that gender is as binary as you’re describing it?” the NBC News anchor pressed.

“I am,” responded Ramaswamy.

“Are you confident that it isn’t a spectrum?” Todd followed up. “Do you know this as a scientist?”

Ramaswamy, in fact, stated that his confidence is rooted in his background as a scientist. He is a Harvard-education biologist and a Yale-educated lawyer.

“There’s two X chromosomes if you’re a woman. An X and a Y — that means you’re a man,” he said.

Full Ramaswamy: GOP has to ‘be the party of free speech and open debate’ youtu.be

In response, Todd claimed — without citing any actual evidence — that “there’s a lot of scientific research out there that says gender is a spectrum.”

Ramaswamy responded to Todd’s appeal to authority by appealing to an actual medical authority. He explained that the accepted handbook for mental disorders, the DSM-5, includes “gender dysphoria.”

“Gender dysphoria for most of our history, all the way through the DSM-5, has been characterized as a mental health disorder,” Ramaswamy told Todd.

“And I don’t think it’s compassionate to affirm that. I think that’s cruelty,” he added of the idea that gender is a spectrum. “When a kid is crying out for help … let’s be compassionate and get to the heart of that rather than playing this game as though we’re actually changing our medical understanding for the last 100 years.”

Biden: ‘Free Press Is A Pillar Of Free Society,’ Unless Your Name Is Tucker Carlson

President Joe Biden speaks at 2023 White House Correspondent Dinner
Biden’s ‘joke’ about Tucker Carlson may have been hilarious to people who hate the pundit, but it didn’t land with the American people.

Less than one week after Fox News abruptly ousted its most popular host, Tucker Carlson, President Joe Biden joined in the chorus of corporate media, Democrats, and celebrities praising the exit as a victory for the left.

Biden began his speech at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night with a tribute to the press and the First Amendment that keeps them in business.

“The free press is a pillar — maybe the pillar — of a free society, not the enemy,” he said in his opening comments.

Minutes later, after he quoted Thomas Jefferson’s letter about preferring “newspapers without government” over a “government without newspapers,” the Democrat took a moment to toot his own horn and relish in Tucker Carlson’s abrupt departure from Fox News at the same time.

‘Well, the truth is we really have a record to be proud of,” Biden started. “Vaccinated the nation. Transformed the economy. Earned historic legislative victories and midterm results. But the job isn’t finished. I mean — it is finished for Tucker Carlson.”

Biden’s jab was met with an “oooh” and laughter from the crowd.

“What are you wooing about like that?” Biden said between laughs. “Like you think that’s not reasonable? Give me a break. Just give me a break.”

It’s hauntingly ironic that the president and his allies in the corporate media spent their weekend laughing at the dismissal of one of their top political enemies while regular Americans mourn the loss of the nation’s most influential critic of the corrupt ruling class.

Ever since the Murdochs decided to yank “Tucker Carlson Tonight” from the air, disenfranchised viewers committed to divorcing the network in droves.

[RELATED: I Taped A Show With Tucker On Censorship Right Before He Was Fired]

At the end of the day, however, neither Biden nor the corporate media care that the man whose show consistently ranked as the highest-rated cable news programming, including among young Democrat viewers, is no longer on screens all over the nation.

It’s been clear for years now that the same First Amendment rights the media’s preferred candidates like Biden pretend to affirm are not afforded to commentators like Carlson or anyone else who questions The Narrative™.

Carlson admitted this during his last public address before news of his departure broke.

“No, we have a First Amendment. That can’t happen here, but it has,” Carlson said at The Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala celebration.

It is easy for Biden to sing the praises of the press when all he gets from them are fawningoptimistic attention, and cover that caters to his every request. For those like Carlson who expose the cozy relationship between Democrats and media, only condemnation awaits.

Because Carlson reports on issues that the president’s allies refuse to — like Biden family corruption, election maladministration, and Democrats’ Jan. 6 show trial — the Biden White House has repeatedly sought to discredit the host and his former employer.

Biden pretends, like at the Correspondents’ Dinner, that the journos who gladly help Biden use cheat sheets at his few and far between press conferences are not “the enemy” of society and democracy — though Americans overwhelmingly know better. At the same time, he gloats that one of his personal enemies, a member of the press, could potentially stay off of cable news for good.

Biden’s “joke” about the former Fox News host may have been hilarious to a room full of people who rooted for the death of Carlson’s career for years, but it didn’t land with the American people. If anything, Biden’s Carlson crack further confirms that the regime only plans to recognize the constitutional rights of its allies.

Considering his popularity and relevance, it is still mysterious that Fox News decided to fire Tucker Carlson.

Was it something that emerged in the devastating Dominion lawsuit? Did a coworker file a serious complaint about him? Did the executives at Fox decide the risks he took were more of a liability than an asset? Was it a combination of all these things, or something else altogether?

Whatever the reason, most people agree that Fox lost more than Carlson. While he can take his massive following and start fresh, Fox can hardly avoid looking like a domesticated conservative media company.

For many, Carlson was the only reason to watch cable television, let alone Fox. He was the one authentic person who challenged the Democrat and Republican party lines. As Daily Wire host Matt Walsh recently noted on his show, Carlson’s monologues were news events in themselves because they resonated so well with many Americans. Besides making him popular, Carlson’s authenticity and independence made him unique and likely irreplaceable.

Some people have compared his departure to that of Bill O’Reilly, who also commanded large audiences, but O’Reilly was a pundit for a different time. His brand differed entirely from Carlson’s. He cheered for the right’s old priorities: fighting terrorists, expanding global trade, and lowering the corporate tax rate. By contrast, Carlson voiced populist, anti-establishment, and non-interventionist opinions.

While O’Reilly is a relic of “Conservatism Inc.,” Carlson is emblematic of what conservative media has become: a wide diversity of voices on a variety of platforms that all oppose the leftist narrative propagated by legacy media outlets. By dumping Carlson, Fox’s leaders are deciding to return to the good ol’ days of Conservative Inc. From now on, news and opinion broadcasts will be safe, filtered, and milquetoast.

In the short term, this might protect Fox from more lawsuits and harassment, but in the long term, this assures that Fox will fade into oblivion along with the rest of cable television as alternative online media takes over.

Rather than treating this as a loss, conservatives should welcome the change. This might push more people, especially older generations, to abandon cable news altogether. Conservatives can leave the insipid programming of cable news for the leftist midwits who pride themselves on being (mis)informed.

Frankly, Carlson could not stay at Fox forever. Though he excelled as a cable broadcaster, his commentary, intelligence, and willingness to explore controversies fit new styles of conservative media too. When he could have stayed on script and let his popularity carry him along, he instead continued taking ever-larger risks and angering powerful people. In many ways, he had a stronger counter-cultural and anti-establishment bent than the typical punk rocker, which admittedly is not saying much these days.

As such, it is fitting that he can move into a medium that allows him to work on his own terms. Not only will this allow him more freedom to express himself and to amplify important voices and arguments, but it will also be more profoundly American.

Whereas state-run media controls information and thought in some foreign nations, Americans can listen to different voices all arguing and competing with one another to grow their audiences. Doubtless, American leftists hope to follow suit and destroy all alternative media and abolish free speech. Quite understandably, they see that only gadflies like Carlson, who dissent from their agenda, hold them back from complete cultural, political, and economic supremacy. This is why they devote extensive energy and resources to controlling all social media and cable media platforms. And it looks like they finally succeeded in taking down Fox.

Fortunately, leftist attempts to censor and control online public discourse have mostly played out like a clumsy game of whack-a-mole. They will silence one dissenter only to have 10 more pop up and say something even more “dangerous.”

Moreover, they cannot help but look like fascists and hypocrites every time they play this game, even angering those in the old guard like Bill Maher who at least try to be principled.

That does not mean their failures should make anyone comfortable with the assault on free speech and alternative media in America. People who are committed to the truth and a marketplace of ideas should continue to call out censorship and corporate monopolies.

Even if Carlson rebounds and Fox collapses, it is still outrageous that he was ousted in the first place. To turn this setback into a win, conservatives must see the intentions behind his exit, support alternative media, and (as Tucker Carlson said in a video after his termination) speak out against the falsehoods as confidently and frequently as possible.

How Far Will Corporate Media Go to Cover for And Re-Elect Joe Biden?

The president’s press conference cheat sheet raises serious questions about journalistic ethics as well as his declining mental state.

Like just about anything else that undermines the Democrats’ preferred narratives, the Getty Images photo that revealed that President Joe Biden’s responses to questions at his joint press conference with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol earlier this week were scripted went mostly unreported throughout the corporate press. And, compared to the damage done by the out-of-control spending and woke policies at home and incoherent foreign policy abroad pursued by Biden, perhaps it isn’t earth-shaking that he needs cheat sheets on those rare occasions when his handlers allow him to field live questions from the press.

We’ve already seen plenty of evidence that the 80-year-old commander-in-chief requires printed cards with detailed instructions to navigate public events. He spent most of the 2020 presidential campaign doing virtual events; the press and public were given little or no access to him. That’s continued since he entered the White House.

Starting from his first meeting with his first formal press conference in March 2021, he has been carrying such cards with him in such settings. In March 2022, he was caught holding a card with answers to possible questions about the war in Ukraine. And in both a June 2022 event with wind industry executives and then a November 2022 summit in Indonesia, the cameras were able to see the cue cards he carried that told him precisely what to do, with phrases like “You enter,” “You take your seat,” “You thank participants,” and “You depart.” And to the consternation of his handlers, sometimes he reads the stage instructions aloud.

But this week’s cheat sheet goes beyond the usual embarrassment about an octogenarian president who is unable to perform without a script and often incapable of following the instructions he’s given.

It’s one thing for the White House staff to tell the president what to do or even to supply him with answers to possible questions that he can’t be relied upon to remember without a script in front of him. It’s quite another when members of the White House press corps are actively colluding in the charade. And that is what the photo of his presser cheat sheet revealed.

The card labeled “Question #1” in the “Reporter Q & A” showed a picture of Los Angeles Times White House correspondent Courtney Subramanian (followed by the phonetic guide to pronouncing her name) and then the text of a question about semiconductor manufacturing.

Biden duly called upon Subramanian, who then did ask a question about semiconductors, though not the exact same question that was on his card. In any event, Biden followed the script and gave her the answer to the question he thought he was getting rather than the one she posed.

It’s generally no secret what questions reporters are liable to ask, since most follow the dictates of the news cycle. And while the tradition of White House pressers has generally called for senior reporters for major outlets to be given priority to ask questions, other presidents have been comfortable enough in public to be able to choose for themselves and to be able to answer without scripts or notes.

A New Low for the Press

But the question this incident poses is far more serious than the fact that Biden can’t maneuver through a public event without minute instructions.

The card shows that Subramanian is submitting her questions in advance of the presser. And it is likely that others who are called upon are required to do the same. That means that even when his staff allows Biden to face the press in live events — and he has held fewer press conferences than any president in the last 30 years — what we are seeing is something along the lines of a Kabuki play and not anything that previous generations would have recognized as an actual opportunity for the press to get real answers about the issues of the day.

This is appalling not just because it shows Biden is incapable of behaving as all of his predecessors have done and submit regularly to unscripted grilling from an often-adversarial press corps. Given his age and his inability to get through public appearances without all manners of gaffes and evidence of confusion, what the cheat sheets demonstrate is that the corporate media considers itself obligated to assist the White House in a deceitful show aimed at demonstrating Biden is capable of governing, when that is not the case.

That goes beyond the unwillingness of virtually any member of the current White House press corps other than Fox News’ Peter Doocy to pose tough questions. It means they have abandoned even the pretense that they are there to hold the administration accountable and are instead merely the media auxiliaries of the Democratic Party.

Even more than just this disinterest in basic journalistic ethics, this kind of cooperation shows the lengths to which some reporters and their bosses are willing to go to cover up Biden’s incapacity to serve.

Part of a Pattern

The willingness of the press to go into the tank for Democrats is nothing new.

Last fall, legacy media journalists covered up the extent of Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman’s incapacity in the wake of a massive stroke. Their lies were only revealed when, in the sole debate of that race, Fetterman demonstrated that, even with electronic aids, he had trouble comprehending questions and answering them in a coherent fashion. His recent return to the Senate after spending several weeks in a hospital to be treated for severe depression showed that there was little improvement, but even now the corporate media treat any mention of his problems as evidence of bad manners or prejudice against the disabled rather than a justified concern about a senator who cannot fulfill his duties.

Biden’s announcement of his intention to run for re-election next year puts this problem in clear focus. It’s impossible for citizens to judge whether it is wise to elect a man already clearly in decline to serve until he is 86 when the people whose job it is to tell the truth about the government are reduced to supporting actors in a show aimed at covering up the truth.

This transcends the longstanding problem of liberal media bias. Like the press’s conniving to spread the Russia-collusion hoax and their assistance in the silencing of the Hunter Biden laptop story, playing along with the Biden show is clear evidence of corruption. It means it is impossible to believe anything that reporters who play this game write or say. It also means that, in the absence of objective medical tests that are made public and which the White House has shown no interest in conducting, no serious person can possibly accept the assurances about Biden’s mental acuity that we are being asked to believe.

Rasmussen Poll: Carlson More Popular Than Fox News

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is more popular than the network that fired him, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports survey. Of likely U.S. voters surveyed, 59% surveyed said they had a favorable view of Carlson compared with 52% for Fox. More believe Carlson’s departure will make Fox worse, not better (32%-19%). Among Republicans, 47% said letting Carlson go would make Fox News worse, compared with 13% who said otherwise.

Fox News on Monday said it had “agreed to part ways” with Carlson less than a week after settling a lawsuit over the network’s 2020 election reporting. The network said in a press release that the last program of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” aired Friday.

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the press release from the network said.

“Not surprisingly, Carlson is most popular among Republican voters and self-identified conservatives. Carlson is viewed at least somewhat favorably by 71% of Republicans, 48% of Democrats, and 55% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

“Fifty-five percent (55%) of conservatives have a very favorable impression of Carlson, but only 18% of liberal and moderate voters share that opinion. Forty-eight percent (48%) of liberals have a very unfavorable view of Carlson,” Rasmussen said.

The survey of 945 U.S. likely voters was conducted on April 25-27 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research.

Former Fox News Channel show host Megyn Kelly told her podcast audience on Thursday that FNC’s decision to fire prime time anchor Tucker Carlson is driving its viewers to Newsmax. The statement during her Thursday program, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” came in a conversation with Melissa Francis, another a former Fox News and Fox Business anchor and host who left News Corp.

“What if Tucker actually went to 8 p.m. on Newsmax – our friend Eric Bolling is there now, who we both love — and I’m just saying what if he moved to 8 and Eric moved to 9?” Kelly asked rhetorically. “Just this past week, during the 8 p.m. hour, Eric averaged 562,000 viewers. Last Tuesday he averaged 122,000.

“So, the Fox News audience is going ‘click’ and moving over to Newsmax right now. Imagine if it were Tucker in that spot.”

Kelly preceded her remarks by saying that Newsmax was in 20 million fewer homes than Fox, which made its jump in numbers even more impressive. The actual number is 24 million fewer homes, Newsmax said.

Kelly’s comment came after Fox News ended Carlson’s show after his April 21 broadcast and announced the change Monday. Fox News Channel has since seen its audience during the Carlson hour plummet, with 2.6 million tuning in Monday to watch, a figure that dropped to 1.7 million on Tuesday and only 1.3 million on Wednesday — a 59% drop from Carlson’s average rating.

Fox has not announced a new host for the slot and appears to be rotating popular network figures like Brian Kilmeade.

As Kelly noted, Newsmax, conversely, has seen its average audience at 8 p.m. with “Eric Bolling The Balance” soar by 261% to an average 534,000 viewers. Nielsen data indicates that Newsmax was drawing 57% of Fox’s audience on a proportional basis Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Fox News Ratings Collapse by 50% as Newsmax Soars

By Newsmax Wires | Friday, 28 April 2023 01:47 PM EDT

After Tucker Carlson’s firing from Fox News this past Monday, the network has witnessed a collapse in ratings — especially in its 8 p.m. ET prime-time slot. For years Tucker Carlson owned this prime time for Fox, drawing an average 3.2 million viewers a night.

Not anymore.

This week, Fox News Channel saw its audience during the Carlson hour plummet, with 2.6 million tuning in Monday to watch. Things got even worse for Fox on Tuesday, with 1.7 million viewers tuning in. But Wednesday, Fox saw a catastrophic drop to just 1.3 million viewers — a 59% drop from Carlson’s average rating.

Fox has not announced a new host for the slot and appears to be rotating popular network figures such as Brian Kilmeade.

While Fox is hemorrhaging viewers, Newsmax is the primary beneficiary. Within the cable universe, Newsmax saw its average audience at 8 p.m. with “Eric Bolling The Balance” soar by 261% to an average 534,000 viewers. But Newsmax notes that it’s available in 24 million fewer cable homes than Fox, making its viewership even more impressive for its cable distribution.

Nielsen data indicates that Newsmax was drawing 57% of Fox’s audience on a proportional basis Wednesday at 8 p.m. And Newsmax is free currently on most major OTT (over the top) platforms, giving it a boost of 400,000 additional viewers at the 8 p.m. hour not counted by Nielsen. Newsmax even beat CNN based on proportional viewership with a .43 share against “Anderson Cooper 360” at just .37.

MSNBC, however, was also a winner Wednesday, with “All in With Chris Hayes” topping Fox with close to 1.34 million viewers.

Fox’s decision to remove Carlson appears to have been shortsighted, with little planning for a replacement. Carlson’s departure came after Fox’s startling $787 million settlement made two weeks ago with Dominion Voting Systems. While some have pointed to Carlson’s involvement in the case, neither Fox nor Carlson has disclosed the reason for his dismissal.

On Wednesday, Fox’s sister company, SkyNews Australia, offered a lengthy editorial slamming the former host claiming he was “sacked essentially for thinking that he was bigger than Fox News.”

Carlson himself has not criticized Fox, but in a Twitter video released earlier this week he decried woke culture and said, “At the same time the liars, who are trying to silence them, honest people, shrink. They become weaker.”

Fox’s ratings this week suggest that reality.

Tucker Carlson ousted at Fox over speech stressing the importance of prayer and the evil nature of the forces besetting America, claims insider

Tucker Carlson may have been given the boot at Fox News over his emphasis on the importance of prayer and his suggestion that America is not presently afflicted by bad politics, but rather by the forces of evil.

Carlson gave a keynote speech Friday at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala in Maryland wherein he stressed that the old political binary fails to account for the division presently afflicting America. Instead, it can be better understood in theological or spiritual terms as a battle of good versus evil, suggested the 53-year-old.

An unnamed source reportedly briefed on Fox Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch’s decision-making told Vanity Fair that Carlson was ousted largely over the speech on account of its religious overtones.

“That stuff freaks Rupert out,” said the insider. “He doesn’t like all the spiritual talk.”

The offending speech

Carlson, whose journalism career started at the Heritage Foundation, told a crowd of around 2,000 that recent trends — such as the DEI and ESG initiatives that have swept big business or the medical tyranny that swept the nation along with COVID-19 — exposed not just cowardice but the strength of the herd instinct.

“The herd instinct is maybe the strongest instinct,” said Carlson. “It may be stronger than the hunger and sex instincts, actually. The instinct, which again is inherent, to be like everybody else and not to be cast out of the group, not to be shunned — that’s a very strong impulse in all of us from birth. And it takes over, unfortunately, in moments like this, and it’s harnessed, in fact, by bad people in moments like this to produce uniformity.”

The former Fox News host cited the LGBT movement’s incoherent speech codes and the efforts by many to contort to satisfy them as an example of herd instinct trumping rational and independent thinking.

Many Americans have surmounted this instinct, however, argued Carlson.

“There is a countervailing force at work always. There is a counterbalance to the badness. It’s called goodness. And you see it in people,” he said. “So for every ten people who are putting ‘he and him’ in their electronic JPMorgan email signatures, there’s one person who’s like, ‘No, I’m not doing that. Sorry, I don’t want to fight but I’m not, like, doing that. That’s a betrayal of what I think is true. It’s a betrayal of my conscience, of my faith, of my sense of myself, of my dignity as a human being, of my autonomy – I am not a slave, I am a free citizen, and I’m not doing that. And there’s nothing that you can do to me to make me do it. And I hope it won’t come to that, but if it does come to that, here I am.Here I am. It’s Paul on trial. Here I am.’”

Carlson noted that during COVID and in the face of other recent “herd” events, there was no predicting who would ultimately stand up, but sure enough, people of various makeups and political persuasions ultimately did. When they did stand up to defend one truth, Carlson suggested the defiant frequently found themselves aggregating and defending additional truths.

“The truth is contagious,” said Carlson. “And the second you decide to tell the truth about something, you are filled with this – I don’t want to get supernatural on you – but you are filled with this power from somewhere else. Try it. Tell the truth about something. … The more you tell the truth, the stronger you become.”

He added that the reverse is also true: “The more you lie, the weaker and more terrified you become.”

Carlson took a more explicit theological view toward the end of his speech, when he suggested that whatever coherent binary that may have existed that was centered on a common vision of America is far gone, rendering useless the analytical framework that many still use to try to make sense of it.

“There is no way to assess, say, the transgenderist movement with that mindset. Policy papers don’t account for it at all. If you have people who are saying, ‘I have an idea: Let’s castrate the next generation. Let’s sexually mutilate children.’ I’m sorry, that’s not a political debate … but the weight of the government [and] a lot of corporate interests are behind that.”

Carlson intimated that the irrationality of leftist politics puts it outside the realm of politics and into the realm of spiritual warfare.

“If you’re telling me that abortion is a positive good, what are you saying? Well, you’re arguing for child sacrifice, obviously. … When the treasury secretary stands up and says, ‘You know what you can do to help the economy? Get an abortion.’ Well, that’s like an Aztec principle, actually.”

Carlson stressed that abortion zealotry, like the transgenderist movement, is a theological phenomenon.

“None of this makes sense in conventional political terms. When people or crowds of people … decide that the goal is to destroy things, destruction for its own sake – hey, let’s tear it down – what you’re watching is not a political movement; it’s evil.”

“I’m merely calling for an acknowledgment of what we’re watching,” said Carlson.

The former Fox News host ended the speech the way he began: imploring his audience to pray: “Maybe we should all take just like ten minutes a day to say a prayer about it … and I hope you will.”

The offended sensibilities

The insider suggested that Murdoch “was perhaps unnerved by Carlson’s messianism because it echoed the end-times worldview of Murdoch’s ex-fiancée Ann Lesley Smith.”

Vanity Fair previously reported that Murdoch and Smith, originally slated to marry this summer, allegedly called it off because the 92-year-old had grown “increasingly uncomfortable with Smith’s outspoken evangelical views.”

In March, Murdoch, Smith, and Carlson reportedly had dinner together, during which Smith and Carlson discussed religion. At one point, Murdoch’s then-fiancée opened the Bible and read passages from the book of Exodus.

A source close to the Fox Corp. chair said, “Rupert just sat there and stared.”

According the source, Smith “said Tucker Carlson is a messenger from God, and [Murdoch] said nope.”

Just days after the dinner with Carlson, Murdoch kicked Smith to the curb.

Gabriel Sherman, writing for Vanity Fair, noted that this was just one of many “erratic decisions [Murdoch] has made of late that raises questions about Murdoch’s leadership of his media empire.”

Claremont fellow Megan Basham responded to the allegation that Carlson’s religious overtones had something to do with his firing, writing, “The world is fine with talk of faith when it is soft and toothless. It is the faith that recognizes acts of good and evil that offends them.”

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh tweeted, “Fox hired Caitlyn Jenner because he’s trans and fired Tucker Carlson because he’s religious. That’s your ‘conservative’ news network.”

SAMUEL MANGOLD-LENETT Op-ed: Tucker Carlson’s Ability to Break Through Calcified Conservatism with Fresh Ideas is Indispensable

Tucker Carlson and Raw Egg Nationalist

One of the most understated yet important aspects of Tucker Carlson’s tenure at Fox News was his unique ability to bridge a seemingly unbridgeable generational divide. Whether he was exploring more complicated topics via long-form documentaries, interviewing the world’s wealthiest man, or simply telling the Republican Party to get its act together, people of all ages tuned in. Grandparents and grandkids alike genuinely love him.

And perhaps this, in part, is why he was able to so easily mainstream the thoughts, theories, and brands of pseudonymous Twitter users who historically have been relegated to the dark corners of the internet with the rest of the weirdos. If a voice has utility, he gives it a platform; people trust him to discern who is worth listening to.

Tucker routinely used his platform to amplify people like Chaya Raichik (Libs of TikTok), which undeniably helped her gain traction and expose more people to the insanity of leftism. And to be sure, this was great, but people would likely be able to understand that sort of thing for themselves, even if they hadn’t encountered LibsofTikTok. We instinctively know when something is out of sync with the natural law and metaphysically disordered, as leftism inherently is.

Arguably some of his finest moments as a communicator were when he embraced the more esoteric, if you will, thoughts being grappled with in the nuanced essays of people like Peachy Keenan and translated them into modern English so the masses, who likely don’t have time to ponder these things on a regular basis, can also participate in the intellectual exercise.

Take, for instance, Tucker’s opening monologue from three weeks ago, in which he described the state of New York as existing in a state of anarcho-tyranny. He explained how this is a framework of  “state-sponsored anarchy accompanied by political tyranny” and described how Alvin Bragg’s indictment of Donald Trump and general apathy toward crime embodies it. Anarcho-tyranny, being introduced into the lexicon of paleoconservatives several decades ago, is not a term many people would be familiar with despite being uncomfortably familiar with the concept. Nevertheless, Tucker brought them up to speed.

Or take an example from July 2021, when he read a tweet thread from Darryl Cooper (MartyrMade) providing great insight and clarity as to why conservatives remain skeptical about the outcome of the 2020 election and no longer have faith in institutions like the corporate media or national intelligence apparatus.

But he didn’t only highlight academics. Sometimes he highlighted skeptics for the sake of highlighting skepticism and to prove to us that the “experts” are idiots — as was the case in this past fall’s “The End of Men.” The documentary takes the food and health industries to task and explores the, frankly, dual existential crisis of plummeting male fertility and lack of nutritional sustenance. The documentary features a man by the name of “Raw Egg Nationalist” — a sworn enemy of soy globalism and an advocate for maximizing nutritional intake by slonking raw eggs — and another individual who goes by “Benjamin Braddock” and who believes the key to boosting testosterone is exposing his crotch to redlight.

Similar to how Rush Limbaugh mainstreamed Michael Anton’s “Flight 93” essay by reading it in its entirety on air, Tucker made a lot more voices — who really ought to be heard — and a lot more content accessible by providing a platform that wouldn’t otherwise have been available purely because of unsavory optics.

The conservative movement needs someone like Tucker, who is willing to push the limit and unwilling to pull his punches.

Consumers outraged after Maybelline pays trans woman Dylan Mulvaney to model its makeup: ‘#BoycottMaybelline’

The ire of conservative consumers has now focused on makeup brand Maybelline for partnering with trans woman and biological male Dylan Mulvaney for a recent makeup ad. To celebrate Mulvaney’s gender transition and to promote Maybelline makeup, the brand collaborated with the TikTok star on a video featuring the trans woman applying several Maybelline products.

Mulvaney posted the ad to her TikTok account last month.

The Maybelline ad represented just one of several brand partnerships the transgender influencer and activist has taken on recently, including a highly controversial partnership with Bud Light that sparked major backlash from conservative consumers. The boycott of the beer company in response to the Mulvaney promotion has resulted in Bud Light’s sales plunging 17%. The trans woman also generated outrage for modeling sports bras for Nike.

Now conservatives are looking to protest Maybelline for the same thing.

At the start of the TikTok video, Mulvaney appeared with no makeup while wearing a bathrobe. She began applying her Maybelline products and quickly obscured herself from the camera with her makeup brush, a popular TikTok technique done to transition to the next shot.

When she pulled the brush back from blocking the camera, she was revealed to be in a dress, her hair and makeup done, and fully ready for a night out. Before the short clip ended, Mulvaney applied some Maybelline lip gloss and smiled for viewers.

THE FUTURE OF WOMEN’S SPORTS IS AT RISK BECAUSE OF TRANSGENDER ATHLETES

Some people in Nashville said they stopped drinking Bud Light after the brand partnered with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.  (Instagram)

The caption for the video stated, “Getting glam for my Day 365 show with @maybelline #maybellinepartner #dylanmulvaney #shorts.” At the top right of the clip, text indicated that Mulvaney is a “Maybelline Partner.”

Conservative viewers and makeup users were not ecstatic about Mulvaney’s latest stunt, however. British detransition activist Oli London shared the video to Twitter and mocked it using Maybelline’s famous slogan. He tweeted, “Maybe he’s born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline. The new face of Maybelline, ladies!”

Influencer and commentator “Conservative Momma” ripped the partnership, tweeting, “So no more @Maybelline. Supporting womanface, is degrading and offensive to real women.”

Canadian conservative activist Liz Churchill denounced her Maybelline products, declaring, “No way. I will have to throw out my 2 Maybelline products. Shame.”

User Claire Hunt tweeted, “The entire feminist movement just rolled over in its grave, as this saccharine display pretends to be an Exemplar of ‘Womanhood.’”

Another disgruntled user, Stacie Allison, wrote, “Ok ladies, now Maybelline is partnering with the degradation of women. #BoycottMaybeline.”

Former Democrat and Twitter user Terry Van Loon commented, “More crappy brands who choose the ‘hail mary’ pass before bankruptcy.”
