Seattle School Board Votes To Replace Columbus Day With ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day’

The school board in Seattle unanimously resolved on Wednesday to direct public schools across the city to celebrate “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” instead of Columbus Day on the second Monday of each October.

That Monday — Oct. 13 this year — has been the federal holiday of Columbus Day since 1970. Columbus Day has been a federal holiday in some form in the United States since 1937.

The resolution declares that the Seattle school board “recognizes the fact that Seattle is built upon the homelands and villages of the Indigenous Peoples of this region, without whom the building of the City would not have been possible,” as local Fox affiliate KCPQ notes.

Further, according to board members, Seattle’s taxpayer-funded schools have “a responsibility to oppose the systematic racism towards Indigenous people in the United States, which perpetuates high rates of poverty and income inequality, exacerbating disproportionate health, education and social crises.”

The resolution also promotes “the teaching of the history, culture and government of the indigenous peoples of our state.”

Supporters of “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” praised the school board’s action.

“We know Columbus Day is a federal holiday. We are not naive about that,” Matt Remle, an advocate of the alternative holiday, told KCPQ.

“But what we can do and what you have seen is a movement,” the thickly-ponytailed indigenous peoples champion added.

Aficionados of “Indigenous Peoples’ Day” call official celebration of Christopher Columbus’s achievements into question because, they say, he — and Europeans generally — treated Native Americans poorly.

Italian-Americans have defended Columbus Day.

“For most Italian Americans, Columbus Day is a symbol of pride in our heritage,” said Audrey Manzanares at a mid-September Seattle school board meeting.

Columbus, an explorer from Genoa, reached several Caribbean islands including Cuba as well as parts of Central America and South America on four westward voyages from Spain from 1492 to 1502. The first voyage had been an attempt to reach Asia.

Historians generally accept that the first Europeans arrived in the U.S. state of Washington in the 1770s, some 270 years after Columbus died. (Putting that duration in perspective, the United States has currently existed for 238 years.)

On Monday, the Seattle City Council will vote on a resolution encouraging Seattle public schools to incorporate “indigenous studies” into curricula for social studies and history courses (even though the school board passed its own resolution), notes Seattle Weekly.

Please support our site by enabling javascript to view ads.SEOUL, South Korea — It’s been an unusually quiet quarter for North Korea, which has avoided the occasional exchange of bellicose bluster with the US and South Korea, and has not tested a much-prophesized fourth nuclear bomb.

But for the past month, a curious string of events has stirred up questions over whether changes are underway in this garrison kingdom. Its 31-year-old generalissimo, Kim Jong Un, has not made any public appearances since he attended at a state concert with his wife on September 3. Since an official ceremony in July, Kim has been walking with a limp.

Kim’s furlough is unusually long by regime standards. In June 2012, the dictator went missing for 24 days. In two other instances, he vanished for more than two weeks, only to reappear without explanation.

News reports speculate that the Supreme Leader is undergoing medical treatment for gout or cheese allergies, but in a nation as opaque as North Korea, it’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint whether this is true. The state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) confirmed that Kim Jong Un has been suffering from “discomfort,” which many onlookers interpreted to mean a physical ailment.

But even that is far from clear.

On Sunday, elite North Korean official Kim Yang Gon, who suddenly arrived in Incheon, South Korea for the regional Asian Games on Saturday, claimed that there was “no problem” with the Supreme Leader’s health, according to his South Korean counterpart who attended talks.

The timing of this visit has also raised questions.

On Friday, North Korea gave a 24-hour notice to Seoul that it would send three senior officials to attend the closing ceremony of the Asian Games, including the second most powerful man in North Korea, Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong-so. Over the weekend, the two frosty neighbors rushed to high-level conciliatory talks.

So it’s been a month of oddities alongside an enormous North Korean charm offensive.

The peculiarities have led analysts to look at the appearance of another player in the North Korea elite: Kim Jong Un’s little sister, Kim Yo Jong.

She may be managing the country in her brother’s absence, claims the North Korean Intellectuals’ Solidarity, a Seoul-based advocacy organization started by former North Korean professors. The group hasn’t revealed its source, and the claim has not been confirmed. But it follows Kim Yo Jong’s apparent emergence within regime circles, probably as a key ally of her brother.

“She is one of the only people in [North Korea] that we know has unfettered direct access to KJU. At the present time I would not be surprised if she is sole gatekeeper,” said Michael Madden, who runs the North Korea Leadership Watch blog, which tracks the country’s elites.

Little is known about this mysterious sibling, who has maintained a low profile for much of her life.

She attended boarding school in Switzerland with her brother Kim Jong Un, according to Madden. That’s where the leader-in-waiting cultivated his love for Nike shoes and the Chicago Bulls that later led to Dennis Rodman’s visits.

Born in 1987 or 1988, she is the youngest of seven known brothers and sisters, all of whom are the children of deceased former dictator Kim Jong Il and one of his four former partners.

From early appearances, she was hardly significant in the Pyongyang pantheon. For years, state mouthpieces did not list Kim Yo Jong as an official cadre, nor did she show up in its (mind-numbing) documentaries on Kim Jong Un’s obligatory field visits — a way of gauging one’s standing within the leader’s trusted circle.

But last March this relative made her first official appearance on state television as a senior official, shown casting her vote in North Korea’s elections for its rubber-stamp parliament. Such an appearance suggests she’s building a more prominent profile within the Supreme Leader’s young cabal, coming just after an older pair of confidantes, once allied with their father, exited.

In late 2013, Kim Jong Un’s uncle and king-maker — then the second most powerful man in the nation, Jang Song-taek — was executed on charges of treason and corruption in one of the regime’s most dramatic shake-ups.

Another aging player apparently removed from the clique was his wife, Kim Kyong-hui, who stopped making public appearances in September 2013. Rumored to be dead after a life of alcohol abuse (a recurring tale that she has repeatedly survived in the past), purged, or gone hiding in Poland, nobody really knows what happened. Usually, the regime would announce excommunications this riveting through state media, both as a warning and a form of humiliation.

Kim Yo Jong, meanwhile, may have held a role as an administrative and logistical planner for Kim Jong Un, probably giving her considerable influence. “We know for sure that she used to do pre-trip security checks for her father,” said Christopher Green, international affairs manager for DailyNK. “Her status is unlikely to have diminished in the Kim Jong Un era.”

Such a heavyweight position could signify that she sits at the top of the regime’s Escort Command, the elite force charged with protecting the Supreme Leader, and is probably linked with the ruling party’s powerful and secretive Organization and Guidance Department, one of its most influential bodies.

Not all Kim siblings are that lucky.

After trying to visit Tokyo’s Disneyland in 2001, eldest step-brother and former heir apparent Kim Jong Nam was deported from Japan on a forged Dominican passport. He fell out of favor for embarrassing his father and now lives in Macau.

Middle brother Kim Jong Chul was similarly passed over because his father saw him as too sensitive and easygoing, according to a book by the leader’s former sushi chef. He was last spotted in 2011 at an Eric Clapton concert in Singapore.

Nobody would be surprised that Kim dynasty politics can be vicious and unforgiving, and it remains a mystery as to why the Supreme Leader apparently sees a trustworthy ally in his little sister. But early signs of her rise suggest that she’ll climb the ladder in the coming years, emerging as a potent scion as a handful of older leaders fade.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s younger sister Kim Yo-jong is reportedly in control of the hermit country in place of her brother whose illness has prevented him from making public appearances for almost a month, according to North Korea Intellectuals Solidarity (NKIS), a South Korea-based think tank.

Kim Yo-jong, the youngest daughter of late leader Kim Jong-il, was unveiled as a “senior official” in March as she was seen alongside her brother at the Supreme People’s Assembly. She had reportedly taken over the role of her aunt Kim Kyong-hui, the wife of Jang Song-thaek, a former senior government official who was executed in December for allegedly committing “anti-party acts.”

Although Hwang Byong-so, director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People’s Army, was believed to have assumed the status as North Korea’s No. 2 man behind Kim Jong-un, NKIS reported that it is Kim Yo-jong who is the communist regime’s second-in-command while Hwang is a mere “shadow.”

On Sept. 6, Kim Yo-jung led a meeting for the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, during which the North Korean regime has reportedly decided on four main topics. Those topics include:

1. Give special and extended medical treatment to Kim Jong-un until his health is fully restored.

2. All high level officials and party members must continue to follow Kim Jong-un’s previous orders.

3. The army should be on wartime-like alert while Kim Jong-un is out of commission.

4. Important government and other administrative matters must be reported to Kim Yo-jong.

Kim Jong-un last made his public appearance in early September when he was limping with visible discomfort in his right leg. North Korea’s state-run media reported that he is undergoing medical treatment from both domestic and foreign medical teams, but his prolonged absence is fueling rumors over his health issues.

While South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that Kim Jong-un is suffering from gout, U.K.’s Daily Mirror bizarrely said that it’s in fact his addiction Swiss cheese that contributed to his deteriorating health. Recently, Free North Korea Radio reported that Kim is recovering from a successful ankle surgery.

The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer.

Obama didn’t know anything and he never knew it. At least not until, like smuggling weapons to druglords, bugging journalists, IRSing his political enemies and killing vets, his right hand found out about what his left hand was doing from the morning paper.

After skipping 58% of his daily intelligence briefings in Term 1 and 59% of them in Term 2, he went on 60 Minutes and blamed intelligence agencies for being caught by surprise by ISIS. The intelligence had been there all along, but Obama wasn’t just missing his 3 AM phone calls — he was also skipping the 3 PM phone calls while golfing with the CEO of Comcast, friendly hedge fund managers and assorted lobbyists.

When the media, in the person of loyalist New Yorker editor David Remnick, tried to do its newfound duty by briefing him on the ISIS takeover of an Iraqi city, Obama snarked back by calling ISIS a jayvee team. Snark had proven to be an effective national security strategy for him before when he won a presidential debate by dismissing Mitt Romney’s concerns about national security with lines like, “The 80s called, they want their foreign policy back” and “We also have fewer horses and bayonets.”

The media cheered the spectacle of a real life version of a Saturday Night Live or a Daily Show skit while licking its lips at the thought of a President Stewart or Colbert ruling through pre-scripted quips. And the problem was solved until ISIS took over much of Iraq. The ISIS version of a snappy comeback was to call Obama “a White House slave” and a “mule” which sounds really racist and doesn’t translate well.

What the ISIS standup act lacked in comic timing, it made up for by besieging Baghdad, bringing back slavery and taking selfies with severed heads. Between his golf games and vacations, Obama finally penciled in a war, declaring, “The only language understood by killers like this is the language of force.”

And it only took him 6 years to figure that out. Talk about an intelligence failure.

Obama botched his own disastrous ObamaCare program turning it into an even more expensive mess than it already was. Once again he claimed that he only found out about the problem from the media. Just like he found out that his VA turnaround was killing more vets than Al Qaeda was from that same media.

Let’s take Obama at his word for a moment and assume that he really is a clueless dilettante who doesn’t know anything about anything until it appears in bold type on the front page of the New York Times. But then what exactly does he do besides give speeches at fundraisers, golf, vacation and blame Congress for not passing some gimmick bill that even his own party loyalists wouldn’t touch in an attempt to divert attention from the latest disaster he only found out about through the media?

He tried to force amnesty through Congress and instead caused a border crisis. After blowing a billion dollars on a contractor with a top family friend executive, the ObamaCare website went 404. His stimulus funds went into the trash. His Green Energy recipients went into bankruptcy court. He’s still claiming credit for fixing unemployment by convincing the unemployed to drop out of the economy.

And now he’s stuck being a third-rate Bush, bombing Iraq while trying to explain that the Al Qaeda he’s bombing now is not the Al Qaeda he claimed to have defeated when he was running for reelection.

There’s no doubt that he did a great deal for the left by stewarding an expansion of the regulatory bureaucracy and scoring lots of points in the culture war, but he could have managed to achieve the former by sticking to his old career of filing frivolous lawsuits and pulled off the latter by becoming one of Jon Stewart’s Comedy Central second bananas before graduating to his own spinoff show.

No one needed him in the White House. If the Democratic Party was that desperate to dodge every gaffe, scandal and criticism with cries of racism, it could have gotten some other black guy. There are twenty million of them. And any one of them would have done a better job and played a lot less golf.

And now after running for office as the “Smartest guy in the room,” the Nobel Prize winner has chosen to become a born-again idiot.

With his wartime latte salutes and his post-war announcement golf games, Obama is aiming to be seen as an amiable incompetent idiot to preserve his likability rating. But that’s only half-true. There is nothing amiable about his incompetence or his idiocy.

The roots of both can be found in his arrogance.

Obama claimed, “I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters… I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors … I’m a better political director than my political director.” It went without saying that he also understood legislating better than Congress and the Constitution better than the Supreme Court. He understood website programming better than the programmers which is why the ObamaCare website testing and redesigns happened inside the government.

He even insisted that he was a better ISIS Jihadist than the actual Jihadists, offering his advice as “an adviser to ISIS” to a coterie of big media types. And yet if ISIS ever did make him its Caliph, it would be reduced to two guys hiding in a kebab shack in Yemen before the month was out.

Obama can do everything better than everyone else, which is why he can never get anything right. He assumed that he would rule as a genius surrounded by incompetent idiots. And he was half right.

The HHS and VA secretaries were purged over failures of leadership that came from the top down. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton resigned half a year after Benghazi. The Attorney General stepped down after a U.S. District Court judge began applying serious pressure over Fast and Furious docs.

If we begin listing the top generals, defense and security officials who were forced out to cover up for Obama’s failures at all things military, we would be here all day.

Having thrown everyone else under the bus, Obama is gently climbing under it for a short nap. Then he’ll be back to change the subject from his latest failure to a proposal that is doomed to become a failure while urging Americans not to be cynical about all his past failures.

The left never understood that its policy failures come from its bad intentions. It’s incompetent because it’s malicious.

Obama is blaming the intelligence officials for not giving him the briefings on ISIS that he wouldn’t attend. But he knew all about ISIS. He chose not to listen to avoid exactly what is happening now.

As a born again idiot, Obama maintains a layer of plausible deniability over his incompetence. But it’s an ignorance of choice. He chooses not to contemplate the consequences of his actions and instead uses the media as a warning system to tell him that the latest crisis has penetrated the liberal bubble.

The left chooses not to know what it doesn’t want to know. It chose not to know what the USSR was doing. It chose not to know what ISIS was up.

It chooses not to know because then it would have to do something.

Obama didn’t want to do anything about ISIS. He didn’t want to do anything about the VA. He didn’t want to acknowledge knowing anything about the IRS targeting and he didn’t care about how well or how badly the ObamaCare website would work until he realized its impact on his approval ratings.

His incompetence and ignorance are expressions of his contempt. His policies implode because he never bothered to understand how they would impact real people.

He chooses not to know, because he chose not to care.

Stepdaughter Who Had Direct Contact with Ebola Patient: ‘No One Told Me Nothing’

Youngor Jallah, the stepdaughter of American Ebola patient Thomas Duncan, an individual she had direct contact with shortly before he was diagnosed with Ebola, said that no one has given her any instructions, and that she found out that her stepfather was diagnosed with Ebola on the news in an interview on Friday’s “AC360” on CNN.

“No one is giving me no instructions and gave me instructions, and no one is telling me nothing” she stated. And “no one [told] me I’m under quarantine.”

Jallah added “When the Health Department came, they said they are going to be coming here for 21 days. But we asked them ‘can we go outside to get our babies diapers?’ They told us ‘no. You guys should stay in here until we can ask our boss if you guys can go out or come out of the house.’ So maybe today, we are waiting for them, when they come today they [are] going to give us the answer.”

She also reported that she learned of her stepfather’s diagnosis by watching the news on TV and that after she learned of the diagnosis “no one gave me any direction” on how to prevent herself from being further exposed to the disease.

Outrage! Ebola vomit washed down storm drain

America wants to know: Why in the world isn’t the Ebola clean-up crew in Dallas, Texas, wearing protective biohazard suits to prevent further spread of the deadly virus?

A photo posted online by Dallas/Fort Worth’s WFAA-TV News showed workers pressure washing the sidewalk where Thomas Duncan, a man who arrived from Liberia on Sept. 20 and was confirmed to have the Ebola virus, had vomited all over the ground outside The Ivy Apartments on Sept. 26. Hunter’s family members are reportedly quarantined in an apartment unit under armed guard after they attempted to violate orders to remain in their home.

The workers, who appeared to be allowing the potentially contaminated water wash down the storm drains, wore no protective gear – not even gloves. ebola_worker ebola_cleanup2

Ebola may cause fever, bleeding, vomiting and diarrhea. Health officials say it spreads through contact with bodily fluids like blood or saliva.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, the “virus in body fluids (such as blood) can survive up to several days at room temperature.”

Univision also posted an image of the clean-up effort and the vehicles in the parking lot while the spraying took place: ebola_cleanup

NBC News cameraman Ashoka Mukpo, just diagnosed with Ebola in Liberia, described similar circumstances that may have led to the spread of the virus.

“At one point he was trying to help decontaminate a car,” his mother explained. “He had most of the protective gear on, but he thinks something might have splashed on his body at that point. That’s one possibility, but really, one doesn’t know fully.”

Americans took to Twitter to express their outrage at the Dallas scene. The following are some posted responses:

A Red Cross representative puts supplies outside quarantined family’s apartment

According to numerous reports, food supplies have been delivered to the quarantined individuals. However, there are no biohazard suits or protective gear worn in photos of worker interactions with the family.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said the confinement order was issued after the family defied a request to stay home until at least Oct. 19. A woman in the apartment, Louis Troh, said she’s tired of the quarantine and is demanding health officials sanitize her home, which still contains Duncan’s contaminated bedsheets and towels.

According to the New York Post, “A hazardous material crew arrived to decontaminate the apartment Thursday evening but didn’t have the required permits to clean and remove hazardous waste, city spokesman Richard Hill said. The crew, contacted by the county and state, was to return Friday to complete the job.”

NBC News confirmed that hazmat trucks have now pulled up outside the apartment – five days after Duncan was admitted to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

“There is a possibility in Dallas that some of the people who have been in contact with the Ebola patient might develop the disease,” Bell said, stressing that Ebola is not transmitted through the air and that an Ebola patient is not able to transmit the disease to others until symptoms of the disease are manifest.

Dr. David Lakey, commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, explained that health officials are meeting twice daily with up to 50 people in Dallas who were in contact with Duncan. Each person is being monitored for fever and other symptoms of infection.

Judge Jenkins said the exposed individuals are being followed and monitored by law enforcement, and “there is a plan in place” to deal with any at-risk individuals that do not cooperate with the emergency plans.

“We are working hard to accelerate the testing and approval of an Ebola vaccine,” Bell explained. “Developing a successful vaccine is a high-priority for CDC but we want to make sure any vaccine CDC approves is fully tested and safe.”

Bell told members of the media that CDC has a “low bar” in selecting the 50 people in Dallas to be followed in the “contact tracing” scheduled to last 21 days.

“We are being extremely cautious and careful about the 50 people we are following, but we want to stress we are not overly concerned about most,” she added. ”

Bell also told teleconference attendees the CDC has been in touch with some 100 hospitals in the United States that have asked to be advised about testing procedures for suspected Ebola cases, noting that some 15 possible Ebola cases have been tested with all cases testing negative for Ebola, with the exception of the one patient currently in Ebola treatment in Dallas.

“We have people in the community we are following in contact tracing as well as anyone in the hospital emergency team on duty when the patient first came in last Friday for treatment,” Lakey said. “This totals about 50 people that had contact with the Ebola patient, but we are really concerned only about 10 of them.”

A reporter from Fox News asked what reassurance the CDC could give the American public that adequate procedures were in place to prevent Ebola-infected people from reaching the U.S. when Duncan reportedly lied on a travel questionnaire before leaving Liberia and, even after the disease was diagnosed in Dallas, health officials had problems getting the vomit cleaned at the Dallas apartment.

“We have controls and actions in place for people who travel internationally, and we have tried-and-true procedures in place here in the United States, including contact tracing, that we know are successful,” Bell insisted, not specifically addressing the fact that the procedures currently in place appear to have failed in the Dallas case.

Judge Jenkins said, “We lack some of the permits to get the apartment cleaned, and there is a haz-mat team at the apartment now, making sure the vomit and other biological residue are properly cleaned and removed. I want to see this family treated as my family would be treated in similar situations. I don’t like how the family has been treated so far. I was at the apartment last night, and the woman is sleeping in one room and the men in another in the apartment.”

He continued, “The family is under tremendous psychological stress right now. When I was there last night at about 10:30 p.m., the media turned on their lights as soon as I knocked on the door, and the family understandably felt very frightened. I’d like to see the family in a different setting.”

BARACK OBAMA’S MISDEEDS: Incompetence or Intent?

At what point does our ascription go from incompetence to intent? In other words, is Barack Obama one of the most feckless, ineffective leaders in United States history, or are his actions — particularly on foreign policy — deliberate?

Many others like Bill Whittle have posed this question, but its answer is increasingly more troubling.

Let’s begin with the scandal known as Fast and Furious, which was purportedly an attempt by the Obama administration — under the guise of taking strong measures to reduce gun-related crime surrounding our southern border — to link gun deaths to firearms brought from the US. Obama and outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder seemed to have wanted an excuse to enact anti-2nd Amendment rules across the country, but this plan didn’t go well.

Most Americans would like to think justice might prevail at least for the slain border patrol agent Brian Terry and ICE agent Jaime Zapata, but the scandal remains locked in various litigation cases. We know of Obama’s dislike for guns but have no way of proving Obama knew of this DOJ program, so for now we’ll go for incompetence.

Then there is Obamacare which, unlike Obama’s Democrat predecessor Bill Clinton, actually made it into a bill and was signed into law. Many would call this an achievement in competence, but let’s turn our attention to its actual implementation since this is really what matters beyond the gates of Capitol Hill. A mere Web site that shouldn’t cost more than a few million — but let’s bump it up to $20MM due to the size of our populace and massive regulatory climate — actually cost the American taxpayer about $1 Billion. That money went mostly to Obama’s cronies. I’m going with deliberately, competently, corrupt.

While it’s true Osama Bin Laden is no longer with us, what concerns me more about the raid on the former cave dweller and guest of Pakistan is that Barack Obama and Joe Biden revealed the details of the SEAL team responsible for dispatching Bin Laden. To sound important and have something meaningful come out of his mouth, Biden revealed the Bin Laden raid was carried out by members of Navy SEAL Team 6. Just over three months after Bin Laden was killed, all twenty-two SEALs aboard a Chinook flying unaccompanied in Afghanistan were killed. Multiple questions remain unanswered including the helicopter’s missing black box, unapproved body cremations, and so on. That our SEALs were killed in such a manner is not incompetence.

Before a week ago, has anyone heard of the Khorosan Group? No? That’s because, as Andy McCarthy put it, the group isn’t the pack of terrorist ninjas the Obama administration is making it out to be:

There is a reason that no one had heard of such a group until a nanosecond ago, when the “Khorosan Group” suddenly went from anonymity to the “imminent threat” that became the rationale for an emergency air war there was supposedly no time to ask Congress to authorize.

You haven’t heard of the Khorosan Group because there isn’t one. It is a name the administration came up with, calculating that Khorosan — the –Iranian–Afghan border region — had sufficient connection to jihadist lore that no one would call the president on it.

We’re led to believe this group is a greater threat than the Islamic State, which is why Obama just had to act without congressional authorization — but we have proof Obama created this group virtually out of thin air. Oh, what must it be like to have the major media networks right in your pocket! All the praise, ZERO accountability. Can anyone not call this intent?

My opening question has two answers: Yes, Barack Obama and his administration are incompetent in matters requiring competence, and this fact has lead to unnecessary economic destruction and, most importantly, the death of Americans. And although in a previous column I made the case that motivation behind an act is of lesser importance than the act itself, the beliefs and values behind Obama’s actions should be of grave concern for the United States.

With this last nugget, let’s see if you think Obama’s heart is in the right place. In a speech before the UN General Assembly last week, Mr. President of The United States quoted Sheikh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, regarding the Islamic State: “Look at the new Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies—Sheikh bin Bayyah described its purpose: ‘We must declare war on war, so the outcome will be peace upon peace,’”

While you ponder this quote, keep in mind it wasn’t the first time Obama praised this Islamic dirtbag. I say dirtbag because Sheikh Bin Bayyah has called for the killing of American soldiers.

Barack Obama’s administration is replete with both incompetence and malicious intent. I pray we survive to the end of his disastrous rein.

“The blood of David Haines was on your hands, Cameron. Daniel Henning will also be slaughtered. But his blood is on the hands of the British Parliament.”

Alan Henning made this statement in the video before his death:

“Hi I’m Alan Henning. Because of our parliament’s decision to attack the Islamic State, I as a member of the British public, will now pay the price for that decision.”

Alan had gone to Syria to “help his Muslim friends.”

Henning’s life was threatened in the video in which ISIS beheaded David Haines. (Guardian)

According, to ISIS accounts, the terror group sent and audio message to Henning’s wife of her husband pleading for his life.

Barbara Henning, his wife, released her own plea for his safety.

But it was to no avail.

ISIS released video of the beheading of Alan Henning today.

The terror group promises to behead former US Army Ranger Peter Kassig next.

MSNBC Host Praises Socialism: ‘Here’s Some Good Socialism!’

While MSNBC’s ratings continue their freefall, the leftstream cable news network affiliated with NBC News, has not stopped their pro-communism and socialism leftist agenda.

A perfect example of this agenda was on display Thursday, when Ed Schultz, who’s literally on the payroll of big unions, directly glorified socialism.

“We need to take a page out of the country, Germany,” Schultz bloviated. “Here’s some good socialism for you!” he said enthusiastically.

Schultz was attempting to make a case on Thursday that U.S. taxpayers should bailout student loans, concluding that since taxpayers bailed out Wall Street, it only makes sense that taxpayers should bailout student loans. After all, two wrongs apparently do make a right, in the mind of one of the remaining MBNC ~~apparatchiks~~ hosts who hasn’t recently been fired.

Schultz was praising Germany, saying, “This week, Germany abolished all tuition fees, not some–All! A college education is now free in this country. Free!”

As Newsbusters points out, giving specific examples, Schultz has a long history of praising socialism.

DISTURBING PATTERN? Underestimating (You Name It)

Did you ever notice how computer programs that simulate your basic “End of the World” scenarios end up giving ridiculous pictures of what’s coming and their scenarios are always exactly the same as their programmers predicted before entering their data? “Garbage in…etc.” These baloney computers and programmers are best typified by AlGorian “Climate Change” guys who wear Birkenstocks and drink lattes (whatever that is) and wear Leon Trotsky facial hair …if they have any.

During the Eighties, their computers were spitting out end-of-the-world scenarios involving gigantic icebergs grinding up on the sand in Miami. Now we’re all gonna’ die of flaming and Hellish heat. Maybe it’s all baloney. Just maybe. (Follow the Federal grant money.)

Now you must question if the guys over at CIA borrowed the same computers the guys over at Department of Global Warming (aka; EPA) have been using for decades. If Obama says the “intelligence” he relies on “underestimated” the potential for the “development of a terrorist Islamic state” …one must wonder if the same ancient computers and programmers are still being relied on.

One has to wonder if those programmers ever read the history of the Holy Land…or the Bible…or the Koran? Have they ever read anything? Has Obama? His grades are “sealed” so…who knows…maybe he’s illiterate? Sure as the world is heading for some sort of doom (probably featuring human perfidy instead of climatic horrors), somebody at CIA or the White House is functionally illiterate. Or smokin’ dope …or so stupid he’s ashamed for us to see his academic records.

These guys should stop “estimating” stuff and try “doing” stuff.

Maybe it’s just me.

“This has nothing to do with the intelligence agencies. It has to do with the intelligence between his ears! And the fact of the matter is, he’s not paying attention to his job! Levin wondered if Obama is even reading his intelligence briefings when he reportedly has skipped 60 percent of the face-to-face meetings to discuss those briefings.

“It’s time to hold him to account,” Levin said, noting that some of the information passed along to Obama shows up in newspapers. “The country’s falling apart! It’s unraveling! Everything you look at is a mess! It’s time to pin him down on something! And this is life and death. This is war and peace.’

“And by the way, while we’re at it, Congress declares war! Will John Boehner and Mitch McConnell draw up a declaration of war, or are we going to continue to allow this president to conduct himself — and let me be very clear, and I don’t mean to be provocative about this — he is now fighting a political war! These pinpricks are not stopping ISIS. ISIS is about to conquer Baghdad. It’s on the move on the Turkish border. It’s more powerful this month than it was last month, despite our bombing raids.’

“Obama has the military on a short leash. Now, let’s let them off the leash. Let’s declare war. And let’s defeat them. This is World War III, and we need World War II tactics.”

According to TheBlaze, Underwood has always been an outspoken defender of singing about religious themes and has a message for all the liberals and atheists who are whining and complaining about the lyrical content of her new hit, saying, “Country music is different. You have that Bible Belt-ness about it. I’m not the first person to sing about God, Jesus, faith or any of that, and I won’t be the last. And it won’t be the last for me, either. If you don’t like it, change the channel.”

White House Brushes Off Plight of U.S. Marine Jailed in Mexico

(CNSNews.com) – It’s the State Department’s problem.

On the same day Republican lawmakers urged President Obama to do something about an American war veteran languishing in a Mexican jail, a White House spokesman indicated it’s not going to happen.

“My colleagues at the State Department are very focused on this issue,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said at Wednesday’s briefing. “And so, I’d refer you to them for their efforts to work with the Mexican government.”

Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, says he asked Vice President Biden to ask President Obama to call the Mexican president directly to urge leniency for Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi — but apparently it hasn’t happened.

“I don’t believe it has (happened),” Earnest responded, “and that’s because this is an issue that is being handled through the State Department and through the existing channels at the State Department.”

The State Department told reporters on Wednesday that it sent a representative to Wednesday’s hearing of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee, but the committee did not invite anyone from the State Department to testify.

As CNSNews.com reported, Sgt. Tahmooressi, who served honorably in Afghanistan, was later diagnosed with PTSD. Back home in the U.S., he was living out of his truck when he made a wrong turn into Mexico six months ago, with three legally purchased guns in his possession.

Tahmooressi says he took a wrong turn near the border and did not intend to end up in Mexico at all, but he’s been jailed ever since, because it is illegal to bring guns into Mexico. So far, all pleas for his release have been rejected.

At a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.) said he is “mystified” that President Obama found time to negotiate with the Taliban for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who walked away from his unit in Afghanistan, but couldn’t find time to “call our ally, the Mexican president, to appeal to him on behalf of our Marine.”

Salmon said Tahmooressi is a “war hero” who needs help that Mexico cannot provide for his PTSD; and Salmon also said Andrew deserves help from President Obama.

Other committee Republicans also faulted Obama for not raising the Tahmooressi issue directly with the Mexican president.

“Shame on President Obama for not making a 30-second telephone call to the president of Mexico and getting this thing settled a long time ago,” Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R_Calif.) said.

“He’s the commander-in-chief. That means he’s personally the commander of people who volunteer to fight our wars. And if they don’t think that cares enough about him to make a phone call, what are they — you know, they’re going to feel they’re betrayed, and they are being betrayed.”

Rohrabacher said he knows that Sgt. Tahmooressi did not do anything intentionally wrong: “I went to Tijuana, and I retraced his steps…And on the way back, when I drove out of that parking lot and made that turn to the left, it appeared — I can testify to everybody today — it appeared that I was going into California.

“And once you made that turn, there was no going back until you were in Mexico. There is no doubt that this problem was not caused by any intention of Andrew to in some way not respect the law of Mexico. And that — that is very evident.”

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) received applause when he urged Obama to “pick up the phone and do your job on behalf of our Marine.”

Why is There a War on Christians World Wide?

More than any other time in history have I heard more comments about what appears to be a “War on Christians”? The persecution of Christians has been going on since Jesus rose from the grave and ascended to the right hand of God, making intercession for His people.

In recent years, especially since Imperial President Obama has been in office, that persecution has grown exponentially in America. The press won’t touch it, because they are too busy promoting the State Religion of Humanism, and Islam.

Below is a devotional published today by Dr. David Jeremiah of Turning Point Ministries, San Diego, CA. As soon as I read it, I realized I knew the answer all along, but until the Holy Spirit opened my understanding, I didn’t see the connection. “Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”’

“As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”’

“Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.’

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. In The Global War on Christians, John L. Allen Jr. calls persecution against Christians “the most dramatic religion story of the early twenty-first century, yet one that most people in the West have little idea is even happening … Christians today indisputably are the most persecuted religious body on the planet.”(1) Allen goes on to catalogue blood-chilling stories of believers being oppressed, imprisoned, vilified, and slain around the world each day.

And yet the Church is growing. Reports from Latin America, Asia, and Africa tell of incredible numbers coming to Christ. Even in the West, there are signs of revival and a resurgence of evangelism as Millennials search for an alternative to the emptiness of secularism.

In His sermon on the Signs of the Times, Jesus said, “You will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake… And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world” (Matthew 24:9, 14). The persecution of Christians has never been worse, but the proclamation of Christ has never been greater—just as Jesus predicted. It’s time for biblical boldness.

Obamacare One-Year Later: Five Lessons Learned

One year ago, every network, every member of Congress and certainly HHS and CMS watched or tried to log into HealthCare.gov. It proved to be a long, long wait. The collective frustration at the end of the day was the site did not work.

Despite repeatedly assuring both Congressional committees and the American public that the new marketplace and this bold new experiment on shopping for government controlled health insurance was to be smooth as silk and easy as pie, the rollout was a colossal failure for the HHS Secretary and her team. Ultimately, she admitted being responsible for the ‘debacle’ but not much has been done to eliminate the problems and clean up the process. HealthCare.gov is still broken.

The rollout was a failure, but my hope is the bureaucracy has learned some lessons. Here are five things I hope we can file away as lessons learned.

1) The Federal government does not have the ability to build an aggregate web site in order to provide medical care for all Americans.

In July of 2014, the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported that HealthCare.gov failed to launch as promised by the Administration. GAO put the blame for this failed launch squarely on the shoulders of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Despite spending $840 million for the development of the website, it is still not working as it should. The GAO report shed light on this when they reported that CMS rushed the job and took shortcuts around critical issues in order to meet the October 1, 2013 launch goal.

Worse yet, the GAO report concluded that if CMS did not take action to improve oversight and adhere to standard contract practice, that this current enrollment period would encounter problems.

2) The Federal government cannot safeguard personal health information.

When HealthCare.gov was hacked in July of 2014, investigators denied that any personal information was taken. However, the hack demonstrated that the Federal government is not able to secure the massive amount of data that they are collecting.

3) Whenever the Federal government attempts to provide a service, prices go up.

 In order to provide a one-size fits all, government-compliant insurance program, people have had their insurance policies canceled. Government regulations have caused premiums and out-of-pocket costs (including coverage for prescription drugs) to skyrocket, forcing many to chose between healthcare and other necessities.

President Obama promised that under his government-run healthcare that the annual premium for a family would decrease by $2,500. In fact, Tennesseans are facing double digit increases in their health insurance policies this enrollment period

4) When Federal cost control “experts” weigh in, taxpayers lose choice.

Narrow network refers to the manner in which insurance companies limit the number of doctors and hospitals that beneficiaries may use in order to save money. Under Obamacare, these networks have become extremely narrow – excluding some cancer treatment centers as well as children’s hospitals. Narrow networks are a key central cost controlling idea of the drafters of Obamacare.

5) When the Federal government runs healthcare, patients lose the ability to see the doctor of their choice.

In part, because of the narrow networks in Obamacare, patients are finding that their doctor is no longer available.

However, there is another factor at play. One survey of 700 doctors found that the majority of them have considered leaving practice because of Obamacare. Doctors understand what Washington bureaucrats do not and that is having an insurance card is not the same as having healthcare. As more and more rules from Washington are placed on our trusted healthcare providers, they will become increasingly discouraged and find other outlets for their talents.

As we all reflect on these five lessons, one thing is clear – Obamacare does not work and must be repealed and replaced with real reforms. American families expect and deserve patient-centered solutions that will provide them with access to more affordable health care coverage. They deserve a health care system that works for them.

President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flak since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false.

On Sunday, Obama said the intelligence community had underestimated the rise of ISIS, saying in an interview with CBS, “Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.”

But we know that isn’t true, as nearly a dozen administration officials have testified to the threat posed by ISIS publicly over the last year.

The fact that the president chose to use the word “they” instead of “we” immediately drew condemnation from friend and foe alike, who saw it as the president’s attempt to pass the buck. (RELATED: Obama Has Spent More Time Playing Golf Than In Intel Briefings)

To mitigate the fallout, Earnest’s office issued a statement stating that, “…A lot of that [decision-making] was predicated on the will of the Iraqi security forces to fight for their country.”

But this was also not true.

In 2010, General Lloyd Austin, then-commander of United State Forces in Iraq, directly informed the president that over 20,000 U.S. troops would be required to maintain the gains made by U.S. forces against al-Qaida and its affiliates, and to mentor the fledgling Iraqi security forces– because he knew they were not ready to go out on their own. But in order for Austin’s plan to work, the United States would have to negotiate and sign a security agreement with the government of Iraq to give the U.S. legal authority to keep U.S. military forces in that country beyond December 2010. The White House claims they were forced to withdraw because then-Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki refused to grant U.S. force serving in Iraq post 2010 immunity from Iraqi prosecution– a prerequisite for the presence of U.S. forces anywhere else in the world. But the administration made no attempt to seriously negotiate an agreement with the Iraqis, and cited our withdrawal from Iraq as a major achievement during the 2012 elections, giving the American intelligence community the distinct feeling that the move was politically motivated. Instead of investing any time in negotiating the agreement, the Obama administration used the Maliki regimes refusal to grant immunity as a political out for withdrawing all U.S. combat forces from Iraq by the end of 2010. That saw the immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces and the end of Operation New Dawn, the successor to Operation Iraqi Freedom. It also saw the rise of ISIS, and brings us to where we are today. Today, Gen. Lloyd Austin is in command of U.S. Central Command– the U.S. combatant command in charge of fighting all wars in the Middle East, Central Asia and parts of North and East Africa. From that post, he once again recommended to the president that ground forces would be required in order to achieve the White House’s goals, this time against ISIS in Syria and Iraq. Once again, the president overruled his commanding general and has chosen to use air strikes alone to “destroy” a terrorist army of 30,000.

The president clearly does not think the mission is worth the cost necessary to complete it; but by pursuing his ends without authorizing the necessary means, he is dooming that mission to failure. (MILLER: Special Forces, Not #Hashtags, Mr. President)

The United States military and intelligence community have learned a lot over the past decade of conflict. Our commander in chief, unfortunately, has not. Since the start of his administration, President Barack Obama has ignored his generals and the intelligence community. Over the past few weeks, he has half-heartedly pursued a strategy that destines us to fail in our mission, and over the past three days, he and his White House have lied to prove otherwise. To those who wear our nation’s uniform, or serve in her intelligence community, that’s insult — and injury.

Dear Mr. President, I Am Waiting For My Apology

This came to us via email by a reader that said they’d like to remain anonymous as they don’t really want the IRS showing up at the door.

Dear Mr. President,

I am sorry your Dad turned his back on you. I am sorry your Mom kicked you out of Indonesia and sent you to live with your Grandparents on an island where you didn’t surf. But mostly I’m sorry that you are taking your issues out on the rest of us.

My mom and dad made it through for better or worse, and although we had black kids, Jewish kids, Hispanic kids, a ton of Waps, Pollack’s and Kraut kids in my school, we never noticed the difference. Our folks worried more about the content of character of the kids that we hung out with than their skin color.

You and Mr. Holder can kiss my butt because my folks were no cowards. They were Americans.

My Dad was also a cop. When you said that the Cambridge Police acted stupidly in arresting a highly agitated Professor Gates, you insulted them and my Dad.

When you said that people cling to their Bibles and guns because we are afraid, you alienated the best of us. And, by the way Mr. President, I have heard you say many times:

”The Holy Koran…..” yet I have never heard you comment on the “Holy Bible” or “The Word of God”….. That is an insult to me and over two hundred and forty million of my American Christian Brothers and Sisters.

Last week, in a speech that was supposed to be about the barbaric Islamic State and protecting the American people, I watched you stand in front of the United Nations and proclaim to the world that the United States has it’s own racial and ethnic tensions in places like Fergusson, MO. Yes we do, but in the last six years, you, Sir, have made those tensions worse.

I did not vote for you, but like many of my friends and family, I prayed that your historic election would heal our land. You have been such a disappointment, yet still, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt. I am waiting for my apology. If you truly want to unite us as Americans, perhaps you should stand up and say, ”If I had a son he would have looked like Alton Nolen….” or better yet, “If I had a son, he would have looked like “Jah Keem Yisrael?”

And speaking of Islamic Terrorists….oh, wait, that’s right, you don’t, just ask the folks at Fort Hood. Americans don’t operate out of fear. That’s not who we are. That’s not in our DNA.

If a foreign culture that denigrates women, kills gays and has to wait until they get to Heaven to get laid wants to bring war to our land, then when the time comes, we Americans of all colors, of all political backgrounds, will do what we have always done and take care of business.

Until then, Mr. President, stop disrespecting us.

The New Terrorism

Would you recognize someone like that if you ran across them today? Probably not.

They’re not the only ones, look at the Boston bombers, no one thought of them as terrorists until it was too late.

Look at the Bergdahl family. I don’t know about you, but I think the whole bunch of ‘em is an incident just waiting to happen. It’ll be interesting to see what’ll happen when that Dad gets his kid back home. They just flat give me the creeps.

On top of all that, our southern border is still wide open, we have no idea who or what is flowing in. Sure we can track those who use their passports and come and go on commercial flights easy enough, we can keep an eye on them, they really aren’t a problem. It’s the ones we don’t know about who are dangerous.

So, we’ll now be seeing more single attacks and yes, they are terrorist acts, not workplace violence. We’ll see the occasional car bomb or IED. We’ll see many attempts to disrupt transportation, that’s the easiest way to disrupt a society. We’ll see fires and explosions at airports, train stations, bus terminals, subways, bridges…anything to disrupt us.

Every one of the people I described will be a possible danger, anyone who feels they have an axe to grind, anyone who has a problem with authority in any form. You’ll never know who they are, you may be sitting next to one of them at work, there may be one sitting behind you at the movie theatre or next to your kid at school. We’ll have no way of knowing when and where the next attack is coming from.

If you think you’re living in a safe area, let me just share this with you…being the old investigator I am, I tend to dig deep into issues. I live in rural GA and have discovered a Mosque in little Rome, GA. A Mosque that’s actively recruiting local jihadists.

I also discovered that the Sheriffs Department here in Bartow County has a Muslim deputy and I decided to do a little checking up on him. It wasn’t hard, we just looked him up on facebook and saw what sites he was actively participating in. Sure enough, he was active on three Muslim jihadist sites, and this is a law enforcement officer we’re talking about.

So if I can find all this out, where’s our Government protection? Where’s our law enforcement? Things have changed a lot in that aspect as well since my day, keep in mind there are currently over 1000 officers looking for one loser in the woods of PA and they have been for almost three weeks now. Do you really think they’re capable of keeping us safe?

Agents are leaving the DHS in wholesale numbers. Why is that? I don’t know for sure, but I do have an old “friend” who tells me they’re not happy with what they’re being ordered to do and what’s coming after the mid-terms are over. He says that this is not what they signed up for. As a result, they’re going to work for private contractors, the pay is better and they don’t have to compromise their principles.

The bottom line is, there is no one you can trust to protect you other than yourself.

I know I will never go unarmed anywhere, anytime again. If there’s a business that doesn’t allow me to carry, I just won’t go there. I even take a weapon to the mailbox every day.

For you anti-gun people out there, you may want to make friends with and stay close to someone who can look out for you because you’re not going to be able to do it yourself.

Well, that’s all on this subject for today, I’m sure that I’ll be writing more on it in the future as things develop.

You can't keep a good myth down We’re interrupting our Republican Senate 2014 Marathon this week for a brief note on the media. (But contribute to Scott Brown immediately, and please don’t vote for the third-party, tea party candidate in Louisiana, right-wingers! Remember: Obamacare cannot be repealed without 66 votes in the Senate.)

I’ve barely been paying attention to the news, except to check Senate polls every night, because, as some of you may have noticed, I’ve been in the bat-cave under Swiss Guard protection, writing my next book. But based on only about an hour of media consumption a week, I’ve recently noticed mainstream “news” outlets telling huge whoppers, long ago disproved and forgotten.

First, this past Sunday, New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof repeated the canard about guns being dangerous to their owners. A “study in the journal Injury Prevention,” he wrote, “found that the purchase of a handgun was associated with 2.4 times the risk of being murdered and 6.8 times the risk of suicide.”

No kidding. As a lifelong subscriber to Injury Prevention, I could have told Kristof that people who live in crime-ridden neighborhoods or who have friends or professions that increase their likelihood of being killed — or who plan to commit suicide — are astronomically more likely to buy handguns than people whose lifestyles do not put them at such risks.

My own study, soon to be published in Injury Prevention — and which I expect will similarly amaze Nick Kristof! — establishes that people in hospitals are twice as likely to die within five years as people not in hospitals. To paraphrase Kristof: People think hospitals can save their lives. Nonsense!

And don’t even get me started on my study on people in ambulances.

Second, once the MSM figured out how to blame a white guy for a black athlete punching his fiancee, and the only news was about Ray Rice and — the true villain — NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell, MSNBC’s Toure repeated the old chestnut about emergency room admissions for domestic violence spiking on Super Bowl Sundays.

As I have noted at least a half-dozen times, this was a nonsense statistic invented by feminists and then cited as fact by a slew of major news outlets, culminating in a public service announcement during the 1993 Super Bowl that reminded viewers: “Domestic violence is a crime!” Finally, Washington Post reporter Ken Ringle, realizing that he was, in fact, a reporter, asked, Where’d you get that figure?

He called all the experts who had been cited as sources for the statistic. All of them told him it wasn’t true.

“That’s not what we found at all,” said Janet Katz, professor of sociology and criminal justice and an author of one oft-cited study allegedly establishing the Super Bowl-wife-beating nexus. She said football games bore no relationship to emergency room admissions for domestic violence.

A week after Toure recycled this hoax from the ’90s, MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said on “Morning Joe”: “Super Bowl Sunday has the highest rate of domestic violence.”

So at least they correct their mistakes quickly over there.

Finally, the Washington Post‘s Carol Leonnig is doggedly pushing the hoax about Obama getting more threats than any previous president. (They don’t make ‘em like Ken Ringle anymore.)

Even after being corrected by an MSNBC host, Frances Rivera, last Sunday, Leonnig plowed ahead with her thoroughly disproved thesis, based on what someone had told her — it was at either a DNC fundraiser or a Volvo dealership. And yes, Leonnig really was corrected by an MSNBC host for pushing an America-is-racist fabrication, which is like having Joseph Goebbels say to you, “Hey, lighten up on the Jews, would you?”

Leonnig’s source may be New York Times archives. Or it could be the archives from any mainstream media outlet in America, where the “more threats” rumor originated and was pumped out a mile a minute to an unsuspecting public for two solid years following Obama’s announcement that he was running for president.

But then, in 2009, the head of the Secret Service finally told a congressional panel that it was complete bunk.

In the middle of being browbeaten by Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton about the huge, unprecedented danger facing President Obama, then-Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan dropped the service’s usual practice of refusing to comment on threats against the president to say, under oath: “The threats right now, and the inappropriate interest that we are seeing, is the same level as it has been for the previous two presidents.”

Leonnig even recycled the old folk tale about Obama’s receiving Secret Service protection “much earlier than other candidates.”

How many times do we have to disprove this gibberish? The reason Obama’s Secret Service protection started earlier than usual is that campaigns start earlier than usual. Obama declared he was running for president on Feb. 10, 2007. Three months later, he got Secret Service protection.

Reagan announced he was running for president on Nov. 13, 1979. You know when he got Secret Service protection? That same day. And you want to know why? For the exact same reason as Obama: He was a major-party candidate and he asked for it.

Most hilariously, Leonnig actually broke down the (non-existent) excessive threats to Obama, telling MSNBC viewers that the increased threats used to come from Americans angry because Obama is black, but now they’re mostly from people angry about Obamacare.

(I wonder if the non-existent disproportionate threats go up on Super Bowl Sunday!)

In fact, the historical record shows that, apart from the occasional random nut, the people most likely to assassinate a president are leftists, socialists, communists, Palestinian activists, crazed environmentalists and communitarians, who have been responsible for every politically motivated presidential assassination attempt since at least 1900. (See “Mugged,” Chapter 14.)

Reagan took an assassin’s bullet to the chest within two months of becoming president. Jerry Ford was shot at twice within 13 months of assuming the presidency. But we still have to hear about angry right-wingers terrorizing President Obama.

The theme of all these liberal fantasies is that the greatest threat to women, minorities and liberals are right-wing white men with guns — especially on a Super Bowl Sunday. (Referees are beheaded at soccer games in Brazil, but liberals are terrified of America’s national sport.)

White men are even threats to themselves, should they be foolish enough to purchase a gun.

Reagan’s and Ford’s attempted assassins, by the way, consisted of two liberal women and a deranged white man — who was acquitted by a black jury. Despite Kristof’s warning about guns, all three of them are still alive. And out of prison.

Oh — and the two nuts who recently breached Obama’s White House security? They’re named Ortega and Gonzales.

Rush Limbaugh: TPNN’s Scottie Hughes ‘Called it Exactly Right’ on Hillary’s Immunity to Criticism

On Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh, the voice that reaches millions of conservatives each and every day, piled praise on one of TPNN’s own, Scottie Nell Hughes.

Hughes, the author the new book “Roar: The New Conservative Woman Speaks Out,” has been outspoken about her belief that the left’s elite and the mainstream media are working to set the stage for a Hillary presidency in 2016. In an interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, Hughes claimed,

“[T]hey’re going to take the playbook that they used in the 2008 and 2012 elections and they’re going to sit there and make this to be a very sexist, chauvinist society. Therefore, when you go in that voting booth, if you don’t sit there and push that button for Hillary Clinton, you’re a chauvinist as well.”

On Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh spoke out on his program and noted that Hughes’ assertion is spot-on. The radio giant recalled how he had long warned that the left would try and insulate Barack Obama from criticism by claiming that to criticize Obama is to give in to our racist ideology as a nation.

Limbaugh discussed how the same game is being played now with Hillary and praised Hughes and TPNN for sounding the alarm bell:

“‘First female president! No criticism permitted. Any criticism that’s offered is sexist and part of the War on Women.’ Then after the first woman serves, then the Democrats will nominate the first Hispanic and repeat the whole thing. ‘First Hispanic president! No criticism permitted. If you criticize, you’re a bigot.’…

Last week, Scottie Hughes made an appearance on Fox News’ the O’Reilly Factor where she warned that the progressive mafia, in preparation for Hillary 2016, are starting to establish a narrative that asserts women are under attack and that the sexism danger must confronted.” Scottie is a commentator on Fox, by the way. Scottie Hughes a commentator, and Scottie Hughes out there saying sexism is gonna be the new black, and Hillary is the next protected victim.

Now, congratulations to Scottie Hughes. She’s called it exactly right, and that’s why I’m doing the piece. This is a See, I Told You So, because other people are now beginning to see what’s in store. ‘The narrative inevitably continues with any legitimate critique of Hillary, when she inevitably runs, is not legitimate because it’s sexist-based. This game was played before or as Mrs. Hughes eloquently put it, “This came right out of the election 2008 playbook.”’

So the Tea Party News Network is praising one of its own, but you have heard about this for the past two, maybe four years. This was easily spotted. And as I say, when they get around, if they do succeed nominating Hillary or electing her, then the next — after her whatever number of years, eight, 16, 24, whatever. The next nominee will be Hispanic, and just repeat the same thing. This is how they’re planning on doing it.

It’s the Tea Party News Network is running the story warning everybody, but you, my friends, See, I Told You So, on the cutting edge.”

Democrats are living by the mantra of “it’s it not broken, don’t fix it.” The 2008 race card worked very well for them. By exploiting white guilt, liberals were able to craft an ironclad defense- “Those that criticize do so because of an inherent racism.”

Now, with just a minor tweak in the game plan, those that criticize Hillary Clinton can be labeled as a chauvinist.

Kudos to Hughes and Limbaugh for having the guts to call it like they see it.

Article V convention moves a step closer

The Jefferson Statement

The Constitution’s Framers foresaw a day when the federal government would exceed and abuse its enumerated powers, thus placing our liberty at risk. George Mason was instrumental in fashioning a mechanism by which “we the people” could defend our freedom — the ultimate check on federal power contained in Article V of the Constitution.

Article V provides the states with the opportunity to propose constitutional amendments through a process called a Convention of States. This process is controlled by the states from beginning to end on all substantive matters.

A Convention of States is convened when 34 state legislatures pass resolutions (applications) on an agreed topic or set of topics. The Convention is limited to considering amendments on these specified topics.

While some have expressed fears that a Convention of States might be misused or improperly controlled by Congress, it is our considered judgment that the checks and balances in the Constitution are more than sufficient to ensure the integrity of the process.

The Convention of States mechanism is safe, and it is the only constitutionally effective means available to do what is so essential for our nation — restoring robust federalism with genuine checks on the power of the federal government.

We share the Founders’ conviction that proper decision-making structures are essential to preserve liberty. We believe that the problems facing our nation require several structural limitations on the exercise of federal power. While fiscal restraints are essential, we believe the most effective course is to pursue reasonable limitations, fully in line with the vision of our Founders, on the federal government.

Accordingly, I endorse the Convention of States Project, which calls for an Article V Convention for “the sole purpose of proposing amendments that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of Congress.”

Dem on Secret Service director: ‘I think this lady has to go’

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) on Wednesday suggested Secret Service Director Julia Pierson should resign, saying President Obama is not well served under her leadership.

The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee said it was “very difficult for me to sleep last night” after the director’s testimony before the committee on Tuesday

Cummings said he came away from the meeting “extremely disappointed.”

“I’ve come to the conclusion that my confidence and my trust in this director, Ms. Pierson, has eroded. And I do not feel comfortable with her in that position,” he said on MSNBC.

That is a swing from just a day earlier, when he told reporters the “jury’s still out” on her tenure.

His comments were even more blunt during a radio interview with Roland Martin on Wednesday.

“I think this lady has to go,” Cummings reportedly said, referring to Pierson.

Cummings isn’t the only lawmaker calling for Pierson to resign or be fired.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) also said she should go in an interview with Fox on Tuesday night.

“I think it’s time that she be fired by the president of the United States or that she resign,” he said.

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), a member of the Oversight Committee also called on Pierson to resign.

“I do not have confidence, especially given her answers of yesterday and the revelations of Atlanta, and then this continuing series of events, that it is probably best that she does step down,” Collins said on MSNBC on Wednesday.

He also criticized Pierson over a press release she admitted approving that failed to disclose how far the intruder made it into the White House.

“I was appalled by her answer to that question,” he said. “How could the director of the Secret Service approve a statement that was a lie?”

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) said on MSNBC Tuesday that he is not ready to call for Pierson’s resignation, but called the Atlanta elevator incident “jaw-dropping.”

“I want to give her an opportunity to complete her review and to provide, I hope, cogent recommendations for reform and corrective action,” he said. “But I have to say, it is an open question at the moment whether frankly she can continue in that job with any kind of competence.”

Pierson received a grilling on Capitol Hill over the security breach Sept. 19, when an intruder jumped the fence and made his way into the White House before being apprehended by agents.

New details emerged Monday about that incident. Cummings said those details have led to an erosion of public confidence in the director.

“No matter how wonderful Ms. Pierson may be, the public’s confidence is eroding,” he said on MSNBC. “There used to be a time where, if you thought about the Secret Service, you not dare do anything that might even make them think about you harming the president.”

Other news emerged after the hearing, including reports that an armed security contractor with a criminal record was allowed on an elevator with Obama during a Sept. 16 trip to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Cummings said it seems the public is learning new stories about the Secret Service every week.

Cummings had expressed concern during the hearing that agents felt more comfortable talking to members of Congress rather than to their superiors.

“That has got to change,” he said at the time.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for an independent investigation into the events surrounding the incident. Cummings and committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) are expected to ask the Department of Homeland Security to investigate.

UPDATE: 10:55 a.m.:

Cummings tweeted Wednesday morning that he has not decided about Pierson, but he is “not comfortable” with Obama’s safety.

In a later interview with NPR, the congressman said he has not made a final decision on whether the director should resign. He is expected to talk with Pierson by phone later in the day.

I’ve given our troops in Iraq clear objectives. And as they risk their lives to achieve these objectives, they need to know they have the unwavering support from the Commander-in-Chief, and they do. And they need the enemy to know that America is not going to back down.’

“I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to see the day when our brave servicemen and women can start coming home. If we increase our support at this crucial moment we can hasten the day our troops begin coming home. The real debate over Iraq is between those who think the fight is lost or not worth the cost, and those that believe the fight can be won and that, as difficult as the fight is, the cost of defeat would be far higher.’

“When we start drawing down our forces in Iraq it will be because our military commanders say the conditions on the ground are right, not because pollsters say it will be good politics.’

“I know some in Washington would like us to start leaving Iraq now. To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region, and for the United States. It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to al Qaeda. It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale. It would mean we’d allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan. It would mean increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous…”

President Obama on “60 Minutes”:

“Essentially what happened with ISIL was that you had al-Qaeda in Iraq, which was a vicious group, but our Marines were able to quash with the help of Sunni tribes. They went back underground. But over the past couple of years, during the chaos of the Syrian civil war, where essentially you have huge swaths of the country that are completely ungoverned, they were able to reconstitute themselves and take advantage of that chaos,” he said. “And so this became ground zero for jihadists around the world.”

Kind of sounds like he’s saying G.W. Bush was right all along? Isn’t this what he was warning about back in 2007? Didn’t we have an entire 2008 presidential campaign debating this?

A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.

The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.

The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” said Obama.

According to Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, members of the Defense establishment were “flabbergasted” by Obama’s attempt to shift blame.

“Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting,” a former senior Pentagon official “who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq” told the Daily Beast.

On Monday, others in the intelligence community similarly blasted Obama and said he’s shown longstanding disinterest in receiving live, in-person PDBs that allow the Commander-in-Chief the chance for critical followup, feedback, questions, and the challenging of flawed intelligence assumptions. “It’s pretty well-known that the president hasn’t taken in-person intelligence briefings with any regularity since the early days of 2009,” an Obama national security staffer told the Daily Mail on Monday. “He gets them in writing.”

The Obama security staffer said the president’s PDBs have contained detailed threat warnings about the Islamic State dating back to before the 2012 presidential election.

I say that the Obama Administration is like having food poisoning. It’s too late to throw up, so we just have to wait until the poison makes it’s way through our system and into the toilet.

Give the man points for calling a spade a spade.

Give him some sympathy for having to say it in front of the U.N., one of the most anti-Israel groups around.

It’s not an idle comparison between modern Islamists and the Nazis, particularly when you start digging into the history of the Muslim Brotherhood, the umbrella group for most of the terrorists in the Muslim world.

A campaign led by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini, in the late 1930s against the Jews was sparked by Jewish immigration in the region of Palestine. Al-Husseini, who was an admirer of Hitler, helped establish the Brotherhood as a jihadist organization, growing membership from 800 members to more than 200,000 in a couple of years.

Ties between the Nazis and the Muslim Brotherhood became quite close, with the Brotherhood serving as the Nazis’ right arm in the Mideast. In 1938, Heinrich Himmler sent this telegram message:

To the Grand Mufti: The National Socialist movement of Greater Germany has, since its inception, inscribed upon its flag the fight against the world Jewry. It has therefore followed with particular sympathy the struggle of freedom-loving Arabs, especially in Palestine, against Jewish interlopers. In the recognition of this enemy and of the common struggle against it lies the firm foundation of the natural alliance that exists between the National Socialist Greater Germany and the freedom-loving Muslims of the whole world. In this spirit I am sending you on the anniversary of the infamous Balfour declaration my hearty greetings and wishes for the successful pursuit of your struggle until the final victory. Signed: Reichsfuehrer S.S. Heinrich Himmler

Al-Husseini later wrote in his memoirs that he asked Hitler to give a commission to the Brotherhood “to allow us to solve the Jewish problem in a manner befitting our national and racial aspirations and according to the scientific methods innovated by Germany in the handling of its Jews. The answer I got from the Fuehrer was: ‘The Jews are yours.’”

And so it continues today.

The Allies may have defeated the Nazis in World War II, but in many ways, they failed to defeat Nazism, and it is rising again around the world in various forms, from the Golden Dawn in Greece, to ISIS in Iraq, to a surge in anti-Semitic sentiment in the U.S. and Europe.

During his speech at the U.N., Netanyahu singled out Iran as one of the greatest threats to the rest of the world.

“For 35 years,” Netanyahu said, “Iran has relentlessly pursued the global mission set forth by its founding ruler, Ayatollah Khomeini in these words. ‘We will export our revolution to the entire world until the cry “there is no god but Allah” will echo throughout the world over.’ And ever since, the regime’s brutal enforcers, Iran’s revolutionary guards, have done exactly that. Listen to the current commander, General Muhammed. He clearly stated this goal. He said, ‘Our Imam did not limit the revolution to this country, but to prepare the way for an Islamic world government.’”

As ISIS demonstrates, terrorism is growing more sophisticated about ways of spreading its message. Through social media on the Internet, the same barbarians who behead, crucify and slaughter their enemies both infidel and Muslim, and who kidnap, torture, rape and enslave women are able to draw thousands of recruits from countries that are supposed to be civilized.

We shouldn’t underestimate the appeal of evil. As Pope Francis said just the other day, the devil makes evil look good in order to seduce mankind.

It’s hard to argue against that when you see so many allegedly educated Americans lining up with Islamists against Israel and, ultimately, against themselves.

As CNSNews.com reported, Sgt. Tahmooressi, who served honorably in Afghanistan, was later diagnosed with PTSD. Back home in the U.S., he was living out of his truck when he made a wrong turn into Mexico six months ago, with three legally purchased guns in his possession.

“He’s the commander-in-chief. That means he’s personally the commander of people who volunteer to fight our wars. And if they don’t think that cares enough about him to make a phone call, what are they — you know, they’re going to feel they’re betrayed, and they are being betrayed.”

More than any other time in history have I heard more comments about what appears to be a “War on Christians”? The persecution of Christians has been going on since Jesus rose from the grave and ascended to the right hand of God, making intercession for His people.

In recent years, especially since Imperial President Obama has been in office, that persecution has grown exponentially in America. The press won’t touch it, because they are too busy promoting the State Religion of Humanism, and Islam.
