THEY HATE GOD: The Real Root of Atheists’ Anti-Christmas Rage

Why do some atheists embarrass themselves year after year trying to eradicate  Christmas from American culture? Why do they make themselves societal  hemorrhoids during this hallowed season? Is it because they are crusaders for  equality, secularism’s saviors and humanism’s heroes? I’m sure that’s what they  tell themselves when they’re pouting on their couches all alone on Christmas Eve  after every single one of their friends has dumped them for being a rabid  jackass.

I believe, however—and I could be wrong—that the reason some rage against the  machine is that they hate God and love their sin, and bringing up Jesus in  December is not the way they wanted to finish off the year. Indeed, Christ  really rains on their parade … and they love their parade.

Christmas, if you really get down to the brass tacks of it, isn’t about  reindeer, elves, iPhones or Lindsay Lohan punching a gypsy, but about mankind’s  sin problem and what God did to remedy it by sending His Son.

I know the chief facet most people focus on regarding Christ’s birth has been  the peace on earth and good will toward men stuff, but if you dig around in the  gospels a tad you’ll quickly see that the “peace on earth” thing is an ancillary  perk to the main reason the second person of the godhead donned an earth suit  and decided to hang out with us dunderheads. The core cause that necessitated  Jesus’ incarnation was our jacked up carnality. Yep, Hambone, it was our sin.  There, I said it. Sin. Yours, mine and ours.

Transgression was the reason for the season.

This is why El Diablo didn’t pass out cigars at Jesus’ birth. Happy he was  not that the Son was not only going to address our sins but He was going to  eternally and temporally salvage those who believe from sin’s fetid effects.  This is why slewfoot energized Herod to put a hit out on the Nazarene when He  was a wee little baby and why Satan’s demon inspired ilk are anti-Christmas to  this day. Jesus’ birth equated to Satan’s demise.

This is not good news to some, though. Indeed, many atheists are up front  about it and don’t want to leave their wantonness. As Jesus Himself said, they  prefer darkness to light and don’t like to be reminded of their personal  accountability for their sin—and thus their need for salvation—and therefore we  should not expect them to be stoked about Jesus’ birthday party. (John 3:19-20)

This is easy math, folks: A person who has no remorse and thus no desire to  repent from their sins is probably not going to be a big advocate for the  celebration of the person who reminds them they’re wrong and calls them to  repent and believe.

Call me goofy, but I’m forever grateful for Jesus’ birth, His attesting  miracles, His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. While most atheists  this Christmas will be drinking to forget, I will, as Martin Luther said, drink  to remember the One who was and is and is to come.

Psalm 666: The State Is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want

By / 5 December  2013

(To be sung by children, K-12, every morning of their seven-day school  week.)*

The State is my shepherd, I shall not want.

It makes me lie down in federally owned pastures. It leads me beside quiet  waters in banned fishing areas.

It restores my soul through its control.

It guides me in the path of dependency for its namesake.

Even though our nation plunges into the valley of the shadow of debt, I will  fear no evil, For Barack will be with me.

The Affordable Care Act and food stamps, They comfort me.

You prepare a table of Michelle Obama approved foods before me in the  presence of my Conservative and Libertarian enemies.

You anoint my head with hemp oil; My government regulated 16-ounce cup  overflows.

Surely mediocrity and an entitlement mentality will follow me, All the days  of my life,

And I will dwell in a low-rent HUD home forever and ever.

Amen.

*Special Note: For union workers teaching their subjects this psalm in  government schools, it is to be regarded as a psalm of exquisite beauty. The  main subject is the watchful care that the Government extends over its  dependents and the consequent faux assurance that you must make them feel that  the State will supply all their needs. The leading thought—the essential idea—is  to get gullible Americans to fully believe that Big Government will provide for  them and that they will never be left to want. Make certain the dumb bastards  get that message, okay?

More Good News From the “Convention of States” Legislation

South Carolina Pre-Files COS Application

December 03, 2013
Jordan Sillars

Great news! South Carolina joins Virginia today as they pre-file an application for a Convention of States.  Other states plan to follow their lead, including Florida later this week.

The primary sponsor of the legislation, Rep. Bill Taylor (R-Aiken), said,

“It’s no secret that Americans aren’t happy with Washington, D.C.  Career politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, have ignored the best interests of this country, allowing debt to spiral out of control while stripping States of their rightful power and robbing citizens of their personal liberty.  This isn’t new; it’s been happening for decades.  Washington will never limit its own power.  They’ll never pass amendments to balance the budget, put term limits on themselves or give the states their rightful Constitutional authority.”

Bob Menges, who teaches Constitutional Law and is known for speaking on the need for a return to limited government under the Constitution, is the State Director for the Convention of States (COS) Project in South Carolina.

“When the framers agreed on September 15th, 1787 to add a provision in Article V for the states to amend the Constitution, they in effect were telegraphing a message to us in 2013, a message to us showing us the way back inside the fence of the Constitution, a way back to what Thomas Jefferson called the “’chains of the Constitution,’” said Menges.

“Legislators must know that our grassroots team will have their backs if they support a Convention of States.  This network of like-minded people will show strong grassroots support and guarantee the success of the COS Project Article V initiative.”  He added, “We are recruiting District Captains in all 124 legislative districts in South Carolina and we welcome those who are willing to work to restrain an out of control federal government.”   Menges can be contacted via email at cos.sd.sc@bellsouth.net.

In conclusion, Rep. Taylor explained, “This is not a Republican or a Democrat issue – this is an American issue and all sides should join together to course-correct a federal government that has way overstepped its bounds.  The Convention of States is the safest, most legitimate, lawful and most effective means to solve the problems in Washington.  The Constitution is a brilliant document, and it’s high time we use it as the Founders intended.”

Who is Jesus Christ and Who is Irrational?

http://clashdaily.com/2013/12/jesus-christ-irrational/#hiUt65hThwAsVFeP.99

By / 4 December  2013

jesus

A sixty-seven year old proud atheist friend of mine recently interjected the  sweeping statement “all religion is irrational” into one of our conversations. I  replied, not with a direct rebuttal but, instead, with the unexpected question, “who is Jesus Christ?” He replied, “I don’t know.” If I were to ask some of you  why I pulled that question out of left field you might also reply with a  bewildered “I don’t know.” So keep reading. Please.

If you have never really pondered the question “who is Jesus Christ?” then  you simply cannot consider yourself to be a committed intellectual – at least  not yet. Let me say that in a different way: if you have never given serious  thought to the true identity of the most important individual ever to walk the  face of the earth then you are either a) suffering from severe intellectual  hernia, or b) possessed of an intellect impaired by a fear of knowing the true  answer to the question.

Let me begin by defending the assertion that Jesus Christ was the most  important individual ever to walk the face of the earth. 1) We divide time using  the date of Jesus’ birth. 2) More books have been written about Jesus than  anyone else in recorded history. Case closed. Now we can move on to the issue of  fear and intellectual curiosity.

The options we are given for understanding the identity of Jesus are so  limited that no one who is truly intelligent can be behaving rationally if he  just avoids the question altogether. Take, for example, my friend who has lived  2/3 of a century on this planet without so much as attempting to work through  the options. I don’t want you to be one of those irrational people so let’s get  to work.

When addressing the question of Jesus’ identity, there are only four  available options. Anyone who has ever read C.S. Lewis or Josh McDowell knows  that Jesus was either: 1) A legend, 2) a lunatic, 3) a liar, or 4) the Lord.

The idea that Jesus was merely a legend, as opposed to someone who actually  lived, is simply not an option we can take seriously (at least not for long).  Independent historical accounts, by that I mean accounts written by  non-Christians, are enough to put this option to rest. Jesus is cited by 42  sources within 150 years of his life, and nine of those sources are  non-Christian. By contrast, the Roman Emperor Tiberius is only mentioned by 10  sources. If you believe Tiberius existed, how can you not believe in a man who  is cited by four times as many people and has had an immeasurably greater impact  on history? You can believe that if you wish. But then you risk forfeiting any  claim to be considered rational.

Nor is it rational to consider Jesus to have been a lunatic. Perhaps you  could maintain that belief if you’ve never read the Bible. But how can a person  claim to be educated if he’s never read the Bible?

World Magazine editor Marvin Olasky once entertained the notion that Jesus  was a mere lunatic. But, then, in the early 1970s, as an atheist and a communist  graduate student, he examined the words of Jesus for the first time. He was  traveling to Russia on a ship and wanted to brush up on his Russian. But all he  had with him to read (that just happened to be written in Russian) was a copy of  the New Testament. And so he read. And he was transformed.

Marvin recognized immediately that the words of Jesus represent a profound  level of moral understanding that rises above anything else that has ever been  written. Read for yourself the words of Jesus. Then read the words of Charles  Manson. Try to convince me that they are one in the same – merely two lunatics  who mistakenly thought they were the Messiah. You have a right to that opinion.  But you don’t have a right to be considered rational if you cannot detect a  glaring difference between the teachings of Christ and Manson.

So, now only two options remain. And this is where the real trouble begins.  If we call Jesus a liar (who falsely claimed to be God) then we cannot also call  him a great moral teacher. One cannot be both. But many look at the final option  of calling him Lord and panic. To go there means to accept belief in the  supernatural. And surely that couldn’t be rational. Or could it?

Science has taught us a lot since the Bible was written. For one thing, we  know that the universe had a beginning. It is expanding, it is finite, and it  was not always here. Put simply, Carl Sagan was wrong. In fact, he was dead  wrong. The cosmos is not all that is or was or that ever will be. It had a  beginning. It is irrational to dismiss the obvious implications of this: that  the universe was caused by a supernatural force existing outside of space and  time.

People have to let go of the idea that the natural world is all there is  because that is not where the science leads us. It instead leads us away from  the philosophical commitment to only considering naturalistic explanations for  the things we observe in the physical universe. This also leads us to one very  important question: if a supernatural force was great enough to create the  universe could the force or being not also reenter creation? And another related  question: is the force or being responsible for creating life not also able to  conquer death?

Arguably, the resurrection is a pretty small accomplishment in comparison  with the creation of the universe. But that doesn’t mean it happened. The  evidence must be judged on its own merits. I recommend that serious  intellectuals start here.

Of course, you could just keep avoiding the question while judging others to  be irrational. But there’s no avoiding the plank in your own eye.

Horror: Violent mob of topless pro-abort feminists attacks praying men defending cathedral (VIDEO) Edit (0)

by Sofia Vazquez-Mellado

Buenos Aires, December 2nd, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Extremely disturbing video footage from Argentina shows a mob of feminists at a recent protest attacking and sexually molesting a group of Rosary-praying Catholic men who were peacefully protecting the cathedral in the city of San Juan from threats of vandalism.

The women, many of them topless, spray-painted the men’s crotches and faces and swastikas on their chests and foreheads, using markers to paint their faces with Hitler-like moustaches. They also performed obscene sexual acts in front of them and pushed their breasts onto their faces, all the while shouting “get your rosaries out of our ovaries.” (Note: Some of the most graphic content has been removed from the video. Uncensored footage is available here. Viewer discretion strongly advised.)

According to InfoCatolica, some of the women chanted a song, with the lyrics: “To the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, who wants to get between our sheets, we say that we want to be whores, travesties and lesbians. Legal abortion in every hospital.”

During the attack some men were visibly weeping. None of them retaliated against the abuses heaped on them.

 Protect

While the site of the protest was the front of the cathedral, InfoBae reports that “the whole city awoke to graffiti in favor of abortion.”

Inside the cathedral, 700 people were also in prayer accompanied by their bishop Mos. Alfonso Delgado.

After unsuccessfully trying to get into the building, the women burned a human-sized effigy of Pope Francis. “If the pope were a woman, abortion would be legal,” they shouted.

The attack took place on Sunday, November 24th during the National Women’s Encounter, which annually brings together Argentinean feminists who support “women’s rights.”

The police reportedly told the media they were unable to intervene because “they are women.”

Click “like” if you are PRO-LIFE!

The parish priest Fr. Rómulo Campora said to the Diario de Cuyo that “the burning of the image of Pope Francis is an offense, not just to the Church but to every Argentinean because the pope is Argentinean.”

Praising the men who defended the church, he said: “San Juan loves its God, loves its faith, loves its family.”

He lamented the damage done to the cathedral and concluded that “if they don’t respect life, we can’t expect them to respect the buildings.”

The National Women’s Encounter takes place every year in different Argentinean cities, sponsored by the Department of Culture as a “social interest” event.

According to the Argentinean pro-life site ArgentinosAlerta.org, this is not the first time that the feminists wind up in public violence against churches and Catholics.

In past protests, the cathedral of Bariloche, Paraná and Posadas have also suffered damages from these groups.

“These encounters of women represent today’s civilization that seeks to impose it’s own rules,” reads the site.

“On one side, they try to impose political agenda that international organizations dictate: population control, abortion, contraception, homosexualism. On the other side, they become barbaric in the most literal sense.”

Georgia School Confiscates Christmas Cards

Todd Starnes | Dec 03, 2013

Todd Starnes

When boys and girls returned from Thanksgiving break, they discovered that their teachers’ Christmas cards had been removed – under orders from the Georgia school’s administration.

Robb Kicklighter’s wife is a third grade teacher at the school. He said many teachers are disgruntled by the school’s decision to confiscate the Christmas cards.

“They took down the cards so the kids can’t see them,” he told me. “Some of the cards had the word ‘Christmas’ and some had Nativity scenes.”

Kicklighter said the cards were put behind an office door so only teachers could access them.

“It’s really sad because the students looked forward to seeing those homemade Christmas cards every year,” he said. “It’s stirred a lot conversation. This has been a tradition and the kids are wondering what happened to the cards.”

The Christmas card censorship comes as the Bulloch County Board of Education cracks down on religious expression in their schools.

Teachers have been ordered to remove any religious icons or items from their classrooms – ranging from Bibles to Christian music.

Teachers have also been instructed to avoid student-led prayers at all costs. Should they be in a room where students are praying, teachers have been ordered to turn their backs on their students.

“It’s an attack on Christianity,” Kicklighter said. “It seems like every time we turn around, someone is offended.”

Hundreds of outraged residents have joined a Facebook page to protest the crackdown – and many are vowing to attend a school board meeting on Thursday to let school officials have a piece of their mind.

The Board of Education released a statement noting that there are “established legal requirements to which we must adhere.”

Sharia In Michigan: Dearborn Couple Threatened By Islamists For Openly Displaying Israeli and American Flag

http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/12/sharia-michigan-dearborn-couple-threatened-islamists-openly-displaying-israeli-american-flag/#07OxsIOS2gMLhUUC.99

The City of Dearborn, Michigan has been the center of Islamic activity in  America. The Islamic population has grown considerably and has taken over in the  area, and one wonders just how much of sharia has been advanced in the city. In  October, the “satirical” website National  Report posted an article about Dearborn entitled “City  In Michigan First To Fully Implement Sharia Law.” However, the article  doesn’t sound too satirical when looking at the facts. Especially right now,  when a couple is being threatened for merely displaying an Israeli flag and a  United States flag outside their home. That’s enough for those who say sharia  isn’t overtaking Dearborn to think twice. This couple isn’t just receiving idle  threats, but havingNazi  flags placed in their yard. Sound harmless? No threat from followers of  Islam is harmless.

Dearborn-620x351Terresa and Hussein Dakhlallah are terrified. For  what reason would they have to be so afraid? For the past  two years they have been displaying both an Israeli and American flag  outside their home in Dearborn, Michigan. This is America, it is their right to  display the flags. More than that, it is a sign of true patriotism. However,  some in Dearborn don’t think so. This kind of display will attract unwanted  attention from the Islamists that rule the streets.

Their property has been vandalized, and worse, the Nazi  flags have been left in their yard. Who would do this to strangers? Sharia  law abiding Muslims.

That  just brought it on enormously,” Terresa Dakhlallah said, her voice  shaking. “They left Nazi signs in our front yard … Two people were standing  there – one with a lighter and one with a gas can – telling us they were going  to burn our home down.”

Terresa  said the most recent incident was Friday night when a group of men in an SUV  shot their home and vehicle with paintball guns.

She said that when she began putting up  Christmas lights around the same time, “they  told me if I lit them, it would be the last thing I did.

islam2Not only did they vandalize their property, but  they threatened Terresa’s life. Terresa  is an American raised in Canada, and her husband Hussein  Dakhlallah is from Lebanon. Wouldn’t a man who has lived in the Middle East  feel safer in America? After all, he has probably seen things that most  Americans could only imagine having lived in the strife filled region of  constant warfare. But his answer is shocking. Worst of all, it is more than  telling about the current state of America, and the potential future of this  land of the “free.”

Hussein Dakhlallah  went so far as to say that he feels safer in his war-torn home country than in  Dearborn at this point.

I  feel safe there more than here now,” he said with a shrug. “Because over  there you know if they fight you gotta just run. Here you never know what’s  going to happen.”

That’s right. He just said what most people  would not dare utter out loud. A person might think it, but not say it. You  never know what is going to happen here, while over there they would fight and  run. There is an unpredictability in America, a response that cannot be  measured; an enemy that has incredible power and a state that has succumbed to  it. This is sharia in America.

Metro Detroit is a melting  pot of cultures. But Islam does not mesh with other “cultures” or  “religions.” Detroit is a disaster, literally and figuratively. So while it  might have been a big “joke” to declare that sharia law is now in place in  Dearborn, it really isn’t funny. Look at the signs. The city and the state are  submitting to sharia. An article written in 2007 entitled “Michigan:  The Islamic Capital of the U.S” described Dearborn as the epicenter.

Just  outside of Detroit, the city of Dearborn, MI (the tenth most populated in  that state) holds the second densest Arab community outside of the Middle East.  In a show of force, Dearborn’s largely  Shiite Muslim population took to the streets in celebration after the  execution of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

The Shiite/Sunni dynamic doesn’t change with  location. The Dakhlallah’s have every reason to be afraid. Sharia law is in full  force in Dearborn, and this isn’t a joke. Though the mainstream media may scream  “Islamophobia,” that doesn’t make it any less true.

President Obama’s heroic new euphemism initiative

President Obama’s presidency is collapsing from accusations of corruption to  incompetence, and White House spokesman Jay Carney is on the hot seat trying to  defend him. The best and brightest minds of the left have been called in to try  and stem the tide of bad news and turn things around. Although it will be an  expensive new government program, the Obama administration finally believes it  has the right approach to get America moving in the right direction.

President Obama is now prepared to “invest” in a “new euphemism” initiative. Millions of dollars will be spent on hiring  marketing consultants to come up with new slogans to change the meaning of  words.

Glitches in Obamacare will now be “prequels to success.”

Benghazi will be explained by pointing out that the  Obama administration has a “99% diplomat survival rate.”

Americans giving up on finding jobs will be praised as “a nation finally  taking time to relax and enjoy time off.”

Obama is also guaranteed a couple of decades from now to remaining “one of  the top 50 American presidents of all time.”

If the consultants fail to come up with real words, the administration will  bring back comedian Rich Hall from the 1980s to reintroduce “Sniglets.” Failing  that, they will borrow Vice President Joe Biden’s Dr. Seuss books for ideas.

In case the new verbiage rollout encounters glitches, Obama administration  officials will roll out the same recycled excuses and euphemisms for failure but  refer to them as new.

“Forward” is the new “forward.”

“Fairness” will be used interchangeably with “fair share.”

“Let me be clear” will be given various spicy but already used adjectives  such as “crystal,” “perfectly” and “totally.” Whether or not these words will be  used in sentences conveying any meaning or truth is “not entirely” clear.

“Make no mistake about it” will be used to convey that President Obama screwed something up royally. So  will “teachable moments.”

The word “investing” will still be a euphemism for spending into bankruptcy,  and every destructive social program will be declared redeemable as long as it  is “for the children.”

“Progressives” who then became “liberals” who then became “progressives” again will again avoid using their actual title of “failures.”

While the Obama Euphemism Initiative is already expected to be a complete  failure, Obama supporters have declared it a success. It did not achieve  anything, but it felt good to say.

ObamaCare = NOT Covered-in-California

“If you like your plan you can keep it. Period.”

Unless the President thinks you need something else. Like the one million  Californians whose plans got cancelled because of ObamaCare.

Calif

“But,” you might say, “President Obama said that we could keep our plans, the  insurance companies could just extend them through next year.”

Bzzzzzzzzzzzt. Wrong. Since the President is not King (yet) that change would  have to be approved by the California insurance commissioner and even then, it’s  up to the individual insurance company to extend the plan. And the insurance commissioner?

Spurning President Obama’s call to let insurers extend canceled health  policies, California won’t allow 1 million policyholders to keep their health  plan for another year.

The board of the Covered California health exchange voted unanimously to  break with the president and keep its requirement that insurers terminate most  individual policies Dec. 31 because the policies don’t meet all the requirements  of the Affordable Care Act.

Bottom line? Obama lied, your policy died. But then, for those of you in  California, that’s exactly what you voted for 13 months ago isn’t it.

Elections have consequences.

Must Watch Viral Video of the Day – Capitalist Destroys Socialist

Ya’ know what’s fun? Watching a capitalist destroy a socialist in 2 minutes  flat!

The brilliant Milton Friedman preached the truth of capitalism being the best  economic system for humanity throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. In 1979, he  went head to head with popular talk show host and noted socialist Phil Donahue.  With stunning ease he skillfully pulls down the liberal talking points about the  supposed “evils” of capitalism and proves that, while capitalism may be flawed,  its flaws are not unique to itself. Friedman destroys Donahue’s objections to  capitalism by pointing to history and by comparing it to other economic systems,  showing that Donahue’s objections to capitalism are also inherent in his  preferred system of socialism.

My personal favorite line…

In the only cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of  grinding poverty you’re talking about, the only cases in recorded history are  where they have had capitalism and largely free trade.

Milton

Phil Donahue:  When you see around the globe the maldistribution of  wealth, the desperate plight of millions of people in underdeveloped countries,  when you see so few haves and so many have-nots, when you see the greed and the  concentration of power, did you ever have a moment of doubt about capitalism and  whether greed’s a good idea to run on?

Milton Friedman:  Well, first of all, tell me, is there some society  you know that doesn’t run on greed?  You think Russia doesn’t run on  greed?  You think China doesn’t run on greed?  What is greed?  Of  course none of us are greedy. It’s only the other fellow who’s greedy.  The  world runs on individuals pursuing their separate interests.  The great  achievements of civilization have not come from government bureaus.   Einstein didn’t construct his theory under order from a bureaucrat.  Henry  Ford didn’t revolutionize the automobile industry that way.  In the only  cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of grinding poverty you’re  talking about, the only cases in recorded history are where they have had  capitalism and largely free trade.  If you want to know where the  masses are worst off, it’s exactly in the kinds of societies that depart from  that.  So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear that  there is no alternative way, so far discovered, of improving the lot of the  ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are  unleashed by a free enterprise system.

Phil Donahue:  But it seems to reward not virtue as much as ability  to manipulate the system.

Milton Friedman:  And what does reward virtue?  Do you think the  communist commissar rewards virtue?  Do you think a Hitler rewards  virtue?  Excuse me, pardon me – Do you think American presidents reward  virtue?  Do they choose their appointees on the basis of the virtue of the  people appointed or on the basis of their political clout?  Is it really  true that political self-interest is nobler somehow than economic  self-interest?  You know, I think you’re taking a lot of things for  granted.  Just tell me where in the world you find these angels who are  going to organize society for us… I don’t even trust you to do that.

New York Gun-Owners Getting Letters Instructing Them To Turn In Their Weapons

For most of the press it is believed, “As goes New York, so goes America”. While I do not believe that is a fact, I do believe that as goes New York, so goes it’s influence on other Liberal cities and states.

This report need to be a warning to the rest of America that we WILL see this law spreading like cancer.

Thanks to New York’s gun registry, officials know exactly what kinds of guns  residents have and where these people live. Due to changes in New York’s gun  laws with the passage of the misnamed SAFE Act, many residents are now in  possession of certain “unlawful” firearms which were previously legal.

Kit Daniels of Infowars writes:

The notice provides gun owners, who possess  firearms now prohibited under New York’s unconstitutional SAFE Act, the “options” to either surrender their firearms to the police, remove them from the  city limits or otherwise render them inoperable…

The SAFE Act, which was passed by the state  legislature and signed by the governor on the same day in January, has numerous,  draconian provisions including, but not limited to:

  • Outright ban of magazines holding over 10  rounds

  • Restriction on more than seven rounds being  loaded into a magazine; the limited exceptions do not include home  defense

  • The creation of a firearms registry for what  the state considers “assault weapons”

  • A requirement for firearm permit holders to  fill out a form to keep the state from publicly identifying them

We always warned that gun registration would lead to confiscation. But the  registration part was always touted as a safety measure. They just wanted to  make sure that no guns ended up in the wrong hands. So, government officials had  to know who had what guns and to whom they were transferred. They needed to be  able to track them. If you were a law-abiding gun-owner, then there was no  reason for you to worry. They were only looking out for criminals. “No one’s  coming for your guns,” they’d say with a wry smile.

Well, yes, they are. Albeit incrementally. They’re coming for them, one law  at a time.

HealthCareDotGov fails to meet Nov. 30 targets

HealthCareDotGov fails to meet Nov. 30 targetsBy: John Hayward  12/2/2013 09:45 AM

Not surprisingly, after moving the goalposts half a dozen times for the November 30 relaunch of Healthcare.gov, the Obama Administration couldn’t get within 30 yards of the end zone, but they declared a touchdown anyway.  It was positively surreal to watch bureaucrats high-five each other for a job well done when it obviously wasn’t.  They’re nowhere near the full functionality that was promised when the November 30 date was set.  Evidence suggests they haven’t even met the lowered expectations of 80 percent functionality.

This is exactly what critics anticipated.  There’s been some progress on the ObamaCare website, but considering what a complete fiasco it was at launch, that’s not much of a metric.  The Washington Post report on the November 30 festivities is packed full of unintentional comedy, including the Post uncritically relaying crisis manager Jeff Zients’ claims that the website is now “working more than 90 percent of the time” – that’s obviously not true, and Zients himself began walking those claims back almost immediately – plus a howler from Zients in which he compares the current performance of the exchange to its condition on Launch Day.  As you may recall, when the Administration’s stonewall of lies and evasions finally cracked, and they released the Day One figures, it turned out that only six people had enrolled in ObamaCare.  It’s a stunning embarrassment for the Administration to boast about having cleared that exceptionally low bar:

“Bottom line, HealthCare.gov on December 1st is night and day from where it was on October 1st,” when the site was launched, Zients said in a teleconference with reporters Sunday morning.

Even with the improved performance, some people are likely to encounter problems on the site. And there is another worry — reports sent to insurance companies about who has enrolled in health plans include errors that could cause problems when people try to use their new insurance plans next year.

Administration officials, in talking to reporters, were careful not to declare a full-fledged victory. In a report issued Sunday, officials with the Department of Health and Human Services said the next few months would require further work to “improve and enhance the website and continue to improve the consumer experience.” Officials have also said repeatedly that consumers might still encounter difficulties and urged them to use the call center and seek help from specially trained personnel.

Still, the announcement is a milestone for the administration, which has struggled to improve the Web site since its botched Oct. 1 launch.

Welcome to the Obama New Normal of lowered expectations, where abject failure is celebrated as a “milestone.”  Even by the incredibly loose and subjective goals they set during the panicky days of mid-October, Team Obama failed.  There’s no achievement here.  It’s like a plumber demanding a bonus because your toilet only explodes half the time when you flush it.  ”We’re doing better” is not an acceptable status report, given the promises made to drag ObamaCare through a couple of brutal news cycles.

Also, part of the spin surge designed to make it look as if great strides have taken involves admitting just how bad HealthCare.gov has been, particularly in October.  That’s something the Administration worked hard to keep hidden, until they decided they could milk a few political points by revealing it, secure in the knowledge that few reporters would respond, “Holy cow, you guys were lying through your teeth about just how bad things were in October!”

No private-sector CEO could get away with such a celebration of inadequacy.  Obama used to love comparing the Healthcare.gov rollout to an iPhone launch.  Not even he has the chutzpah to keep making that comparison.  Imagine a boardroom meeting where the head of the iPhone project brags that the product works more than half the time now, and that’s a huge improvement over the $500 million launch two months ago, when only six people were able to use it successfully.

Here’s more of that unintentional comedy from the Post report, where they relay a couple of “success stories” from the relaunched exchange… and neither of them was a success.

Among those who tried to log on was Sandy Kush, 49, an unemployed medical transcriptionist from Illinois who tried six times in October to use HealthCare.gov, with no success.

She tried again Sunday and, with the help of a call-center representative, was able to enroll in Medicaid — a stopgap measure, she said, until she can find a new job that offers insurance. The whole experience took about an hour and a half but “was pretty smooth,” she said.

Others reported problems getting all the way through the process. Liz Gallops, 33, a North Carolina insurance broker who has tried unsuccessfully to get coverage through the site, said that HealthCare.gov seemed to be working better Sunday but that at one point she got a message stating that the system “cannot finish your application now.”

Whoopee!  Another person signed up for Medicaid!  That’s not an ObamaCare enrollment.  The other person cited by the Post tried to enroll in ObamaCare and failed.  Notably, there was no effort to demonstrate the “new and improved” system for the media during the big “Mission Accomplished” press conference, because the Administration flacks know better than to punch up this bug-ridden disaster and ignite a scandal firestorm by having it crash during the demo.  CNN tried to use the relaunched system live on the air… and it crashed on them:

CNN

Later in the Post report, the walkback of all those rosy 90 percent operation claims begins:

The online system is stable — not crashing — more than 90 percent of the time, officials said. And the report said that the site can handle as many as 50,000 shoppers at the same time and up to 800,000 visits a day.

The report said the administration has yet to meet at least one of its key goals: reducing the site’s average response time to half a second. And government officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing operations, cautioned last week that they will not know if they have expanded the site’s carrying capacity to 50,000 users at once until they have that many users online.

This is beyond ludicrous.  They’re admitting that they pulled all these wonderful numbers out of their posteriors, and warning people not to push the system anywhere near the capacity they’ve been boasting about!  And that capacity is really nothing to brag about anyway.  50,000 simultaneous connections for the 36 states using the federal exchange system?  They’ve got 82 business days to enroll 7 million people before the end of March, when the individual mandate comes crashing down.  Only 16 business days remain until the revised cutoff date for securing 2014 insurance that would be effective on January 1, and we know at least five million people have been blown out of their existing plans because of ObamaCare.  There’s no way this fabulously expensive but incredibly weak system can process the 300,00 + enrollments per day that would be needed to repair the damage from Obama’s Big Lie, and frankly, there’s little evidence of a surge in demand to buy those overpriced ObamaCare policies.

It’s extremely telling that the Administration continues to prattle on about “visits per day” and “response times” for the web pages to load.  That sounds like happy horse patties designed to reach Low Information Voters who gave up on trying to use the system because they heard it was “slow.”  Clearing up the slow-motion responses and “page not found errors” people were experiencing when they merely tried to log into the system is less than half the battle for improving the front end, and insurance providers are issuing dark reminders about critical back-end systems that are delivering useless garbage data, or not working at all:

The report did not address the “back-end” parts of the systems that consumers do not see, including the error-filled enrollment reports. Insurers have warned that if the problem is not fixed soon, some people may show up for doctor’s appointments in January only to find that the insurance company has no record of their enrollment.

“Insurers are still receiving enrollment files that are duplicative or include missing or inaccurate information,” Robert Zirkelbach, spokesman for America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry’s main lobbying group, said Sunday. “In some cases they aren’t receiving those enrollment files at all.”

The New York Times has more details about the chaos at insurance companies, as they struggle to cope with the flow of data sewage pouring from the outflow pipes of the worst online system launch in history:

“Until the enrollment process is working from end to end, many consumers will not be able to enroll in coverage,” said Karen M. Ignagni, president of America’s Health Insurance Plans, a trade group.

The issues are vexing and complex. Some insurers say they have been deluged with phone calls from people who believe they have signed up for a particular health plan, only to find that the company has no record of the enrollment. Others say information they received about new enrollees was inaccurate or incomplete, so they had to track down additional data — a laborious task that would not be feasible if data is missing for tens of thousands of consumers.

In still other cases, insurers said, they have not been told how much of a customer’s premium will be subsidized by the government, so they do not know how much to charge the policyholder.

[…] Insurers said they had received calls from consumers requesting insurance cards because they thought they had enrolled in a health plan through the federal website, but the insurers said they had not been notified.

“Somehow people are getting lost in the process,” the insurance executive said. “If they go to a doctor or a hospital and we have no record of them, that will be very upsetting to consumers.”

Imagine how much worse that confusion will become if the almost completely non-functional front end of Healthcare.gov really does start working better, and dumps five or ten times as much junk data in the insurance industry’s lap!

This is, again, beyond ridiculous.  The Administration adamantly refuses to disclose the one and only metric of success that really matters: the number of people who have successfully processed their first payment for an ObamaCare insurance policy.  By law, that’s the condition that must be met to secure valid coverage.  And Team Obama still spews absurd lies about not having the data, every time someone asks for the number of valid policies that have been purchased through the exchange, preferring to babble about how many people have merely visited the website, or how the process of setting up an online account has gotten so much smoother, or how an awful lot of people have briefly fluttered around Healthcare.gov before getting shuffled off to Medicaid.

I have yet to hear a single official number from this Administration that excludes Medicaid applicants and focuses solely on ObamaCare enrollment.  It is entirely possible that the number of valid insurance policies sold through the federal exchange is very nearly zero.  The New York Times report says insurance providers will consider policies valid if the government hasn’t ponied up the taxpayer’s share of the premiums yet – good thing, because the part of Healthcare.gov that handles such payments doesn’t exist yet – but they won’t be able to handle the financial burden of paying claims without receiving subsidies for long.  There were supposed to be over 700,000 fully completed ObamaCare enrollments by now; the heavily cooked number pushed by the Administration is only 100,000, and that includes Medicaid referrals, plus fragmentary online shopping cart data.

The Wall Street Journal isn’t buying any nebulous claims of relative success for an Administration with a proven track record of deception and obfuscation:

If this miracle fix is real, the White House will open the ObamaCare black box to an independent audit, or maybe start by answering questions honestly. But on a conference call with reporters Sunday, HHS refused to say how much progress the team had made on technical problems that are seeding insurance companies with bad information about who is signing up and for what products. It knows the insurers will keep quiet lest they make themselves political targets.

The mission accomplished pose is another attempt to power through a political deadline. Americans who have now discovered the Administration’s other false claims—you can keep your old plan and your doctor, and the new plans are better—can be forgiven for waiting to see the actual results.

No serious journalist would accept the Obama Administration’s report card for its own performance.  Their claims are meaningless.  Absolute transparency and the disclosure of all hard data for independent review should be the non-negotiable demand from the American people.   Reporters should stand as one and walk out of any press conference that doesn’t begin with someone from HHS or CMS demonstrating a completely successful purchase of insurance through Healthcare.gov – because frankly, at this point, there is no hard evidence that anyone has been able to do that yet.

Team Obama is still treating this as a political spin game, while the lives of American citizens are turned upside-down by the foolish Affordable Care Act.  Hard deadlines are fast approaching.  The people and their representatives should have pure, unspun data so they can make solid decisions about how to proceed.  Here’s the bottom line about the big November 30 relaunch: if the system had been launched in the state that exists today, it would still have been a national scandal.

Update: More low comedy from the Administration, as HHS Secretary Kathleeen Sebelius “urges Americans to visit the site during off-peak hours – generally in the morning or at night.”  Enjoy the New Normal of failure, in which incompetent bureaucrats in charge of trillion-dollar agencies bring you a $500 million website that you should only try using at three o’clock in the morning.

Update: Pete Doocy of Fox News tried to use the “new and improved” Healthcare.gov this morning, and this is what he got.  Serves him right for trying to access the Peoples’ Glorious Health Care System during peak hours!

New York Times Surrenders to Shariah Savagery in Promoting Jews as a “Cancer”

I am an Evangelical Spirit Filled Christian. This article may sound like it is written by a Catholic apologist, but that is not the truth. This lady is well know and respected in conservative circles and is adamant about her research and drive to get the truth out about Islam, Sharia and the slow, but steady, push to take over as much of America as possible. If you have been paying attention, you have witnessed, as I have, that it appears the Obama Whitehouse is trying to establish Islam as the State Religion. Please read the following with your spirit, not through any prejudice.

 http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/12/new-york-times-surrenders-shariah-savagery-promoting-jews-cancer/#ixzz2mLqwpWNp

On the first night of Chanukah, the New York Times indulged in its grotesque penchant for  its special brand of subtle, sophisticated Jew-hatred, on the front page – of course.

Not only did the New York Times publish a nipple on the front page (a first)  next to a tattooed Jewish star, but the article is all about  the cancerous Jews. Front page stuff, don’t you know? All the Jews that are fit  to libel in print:

While poor countries struggle to provide even basic cancer care to  women, wealthier societies like Israel and the United States are  increasingly using sophisticated technologies to identify those at greatest  risk  in an effort to thwart the disease before it gets started.

NYT-340x170Front page. It’s really vile – disgusting. A tattooed  (tattoos are a violation of Jewish law) Jewish star above a nipple as the image  for the “Jews’ genetic predisposition to cancer.” Jews = cancer. Jews were  tattooed and naked when they were killed in concentration camps. The Times must  be taking its talking points from Iran.

I would love to see the New York Times dare to run a front-page article on  cancerous Muslims, illustrated with a half-naked Muslima’s nipple on Ramadan.  Yeah, right. They like their building too much.

But this is par for the course for the Times. When the jihad terror group  Hamas several weeks ago appointed a woman as its spokesperson, its front to the  world, the real story was the New  York Times headline: “Conservative Hamas Appoints First Spokeswoman.”   Anyone can see past this ruse: pimping a woman to do your savage messaging.  Hamas was obviously moved by how eager Obama was to buy the Iranian “moderate”  Rouhani ruse. But the New York Times’ use of the word “conservative” to  describe  Hamas is what is most revealing.

Hamas is a designated terrorist group by the United States government. Hamas  is a devout Muslim group that exists solely to annihilate the Jewish people.  The  New York Times and other mainstream organizations refuse to speak to the  Islamic  motive behind Hamas’ savagery and its vicious acts of mass murder, but  they  freely call it “conservative” to smear and libel true  conservatives.

Conservative what, exactly? Muslims? No, they are devout and deeply religious  Muslims. The New York Times never ever speaks to that.

And in October, the Daily  Caller reported that “earlier this month, the New York Times announced that it had hired Egyptian novelist Alaa  Al-Aswany to write a monthly column for the paper. But according to Egypt  scholar Eric Trager of the Washington Institute for Near East  Policy, Al-Aswany buys into the conspiratorial notion that a cabal of Jews  controls American leaders.”

Like Islamic supremacists across the world, the New York Times is throwing  off what little mask there is left to reveal its true agenda of hate.

Al-Aswany insists that he is simply anti-Zionist, not anti-Semitic, but that  is dishonest. Anti-Zionism is merely a marketing tool for  annihilationists. Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.

And in March 2012, a virulently anti-Catholic ad ran in the New York Times. That ad inspired  me to create the same ad but for one thing: a different religion. The craven  quislings at the New York Times rejected our ad.

Bob Christie, senior vice president of corporate communications for the New  York Times, called me to advise me that they would be accepting my ad, but  considering the situation on the ground in Afghanistan, it would not be a good  time to run it, as they did not want to enflame an already hot situation. They  will be reconsidering it for publication in “a few months.”

So I said to Mr. Christie, “Isn’t this the very point of the ad? If you  feared the Catholics were going to attack the New York Times building, would  you  have run that ad?”

Mr. Christie said, “I’m not here to discuss the anti-Catholic ad.”

I said, “But I am, it’s the exact same ad.”

He said, “No, it’s not.”

I said, “I can’t believe you’re bowing to this Islamic barbarity and  thuggery. I can’t believe this is the narrative. You’re not accepting my ad.  You’re rejecting my ad. You can’t even say it.”

We used the same language as the anti-Catholic ad. The only difference was  that ours was true and what we describe is true. The anti-Catholic ad was  written by fallacious feminazis.

It was most disingenuous for the New York Times to refuse to run our  counter-jihad ad based on their “concern for U.S. troops in Afghanistan.”  Liars.  Who has done more to jeopardize our troops and American  citizens than the  pro-jihadist New York Times? They are notorious for  their treasonous reportage.

The New York Times leaked FISA and admitted that they released this information knowing  that it would damage national security. Porter  Goss told  the Senate at that time that the New York Times leaks had damaged our intelligence gathering capability, and in so  doing, our national security.

The New York Times exposed a “highly classified Pentagon order” authorizing Special  Operations forces to hunt al-Qaida leaders in mountains of Pakistan. The New  York Times exposed SWIFT (which put military and civilians at great risk of  jihad). SWIFT was a legal secret program that gave the government access to a  massive database of international financial transactions, using “broad  subpoenas  to collect the financial records from an international system.”

But it has no reservations about submitting to the bloody demands of Shariah  and spreading Jew-hatred on its front page. The New York  Times has surrendered to savagery

The Kingdom of God vs. the world at Christmas time

http://conservativebyte.com/2013/12/kingdom-god-vs-world-christmas-time-1/#acBZJHF0P4JLKCxW.99

Posted  on December 2, 2013 by Dennis Marcellino

Christmas should be an increased time of focus on Jesus and  the reality of God generously and purposefully reaching into humanity with a  great plan that offers us eternal life and the best approach to life now.

Instead it has become full of distractions to try to take our focus  away from God – intense commercialism, sales, secular songs, secular movies and  secular TV shows.

How has it come to the point with humanity where reindeers, snow and Santa  have trumped the awesomeness of the Creator of us and the Universe looking  lovingly upon us with an offer of redeeming our sinful ways and still wanting to  have a relationship with us?

But there are not only these secular fiction alternative stories, music and  focuses at Christmas time, there also is a counter effort – among which are  changing the name from Christmas to Holidays and making nativity scenes illegal  in public settings.

Maybe we’re just not trying hard enough, whereas the opposition is very  aggressive. Given the greatness of the true Christmas story, shouldn’t we be the  ones who are more energized than the opposition? And that weakness is something  that we might be held accountable for, not only on Judgment Day, but in our  hearts and consciences now.

But regardless of what “the world” does, there are things that we can do.  Maybe not on a grand scale (although that would be nice too), but in our  conversations with others and in our prayer life. We can thank God for what He’s  done, and we can shift our focuses … to hymns, religious carols, church, books,  Bible study, religious events and religious media.

But a prime place we can do this at any time is in our thoughts. As “disciples” we can “discipline” our thought life to dwelling on Jesus and the  true meaning of Christmas.

Prayer: A Silent Revolution for a Revolutionary People

When we think about influencing our culture for good, what are the first  things that come to mind? What are the sorts of things we do when we want to  make a difference?

Take politics, for example. When Americans want to steer the nation in a  better direction, we vote. Elections only happen every two years so we don’t get  to cast our vote very often which means we are merely observers of the political  drama most of the time.

People who are really interested in politics might follow current events on  the internet, watch political programs, and maybe even express their views  through blogs, tweets, status updates, and chain emails. Those who are extremely  engaged go so far as to attend or organize rallies, give money to candidates or  political parties, or find other numerous ways to express their activism.

If Christians want to “win the world for Christ,” we form committees, draft  mission and vision statements, publish our statements of belief, execute giving  campaigns, preach, teach, start small groups, upload sermon podcasts, create a  proper social media platform, and invite people to our buildings for events. But after all of this noise and activity, what is really accomplished? And what  price have we paid for our “success”?

Many Christians fail to take advantage of a form of power, influence, and  service that is unique to the kingdom of God: prayer. Whether we’re talking  about social activism or Gospel ministry, when we set out to make an impact on  the world around us we rarely start with prayer. Christians too often try to  influence society for good by gaining political power or by imitating the  strategies of the corporate world, but the Church’s greatest form of social  activism is prayer.

For those who like to ask, “What would Jesus do?,” one answer is certain:  pray. Jesus modeled a lifestyle of prayer throughout his ministry. “But he  [Jesus] would withdraw to desolate places and pray,” (Luke 5:16). “In these  days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in  prayer to God,” (Luke 6:12). “Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and  when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to  pray, as John taught his disciples’,” (Luke 11:1). And when Jesus was  facing the greatest trial of his life, he prayed: “Then Jesus went with  them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit  here, while I go over there and pray” (Matthew 26:36). If we want to follow  Christ, we must follow him in prayer.

revolutionprayerWe not only have the example of Jesus, we have his  instruction as well. One of Jesus’s most famous teachings on prayer is the Parable of the Persistent Widow.

And he [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always  to pray and not lose heart. He said, ’In a certain city there was  a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a  widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, “Give me justice against  my adversary.” For a while he refused, but afterward he said to  himself, “Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this  widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me  down by her continual coming.”  And the Lord said, “Hear what the  unrighteous judge says.”

The woman received justice because of her unrelenting appeals to the judge  and Jesus teaches his followers to do the same in prayer.

One final note on prayer. The widow in the parable sought justice against her  adversary. We could get motivated to pray against our enemies but what about  praying for our enemies? In Luke 6:28 Jesus says, “Bless those who curse you,  pray for those who abuse you.” Jesus instituted an upside down kingdom unlike  anything the people of his day expected and hoped for. Love for our enemies is  one of the greatest and most challenging “upside down” aspects of kingdom  living. What would our social activism of gospel ministry look like if we  blessed those who curse us and pray for those who mistreat us?

Do you seek justice? Pray and continue praying! Do you have adversaries who  curse you and abuse you? Pray for them! The ways of God and his kingdom are very  different than the ways of the world. Prayer is a great example of this.  Oftentimes the methods and manners that seem most implausible to us are very  ones God has chosen to operate through.
