Ladies and gents, I want to thank France and President Francois Hollande for allowing America to see what lies ahead. Liberal progressives and Marxists have always chided us for not being more like Europe. Take the 4 minutes and 37 seconds to see what the future holds for America. At every instance where the word “France” is used replace it with “America.” The underlying problem is, where will Americans escape to? And that’s why this is and must remain the last great stand for liberty.

At least the French President — and actually NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio — are admitted socialists. The American Liar-in-Chief doesn’t even possess the intestinal fortitude to own up to his own ideology.

(Un) Common Core – Where gun controllers indoctrinate THEIR idea of the 2nd Amendment

2nd 01The idea of a standard in education sounds good at first blush. You don’t want to have anyone fall behind. But the problem arises when a few are allowed to dictate what is “Common” and their views are allowed to indoctrinate the children of this country even if those views are contrary to the truth.

Case in point, the textbooks and teaching materials that are approved by the Common Core Standards have warped interpretations of the 2nd Amendment.

Examples in textbooks on how the 2nd Amendment is taught:

 

United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination:

The Second Amendment: The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia.

The Americans (history textbook):

The Second and Third Amendments – grant citizens the right to bear arms as members of a militia of citizen-soldiers and prevent the government from housing troops in private homes in peacetime.

This might have been acceptable (WRONG, but acceptable) prior to Heller v DC and McDonald v Chicago but those cases were 6 and 4 years ago respectively. The issue is done, the Supreme Court has ruled (twice) that individual people have the right to keep and bear arms. These textbooks are doing nothing more than trying to brainwash students into believing a lie; with hopes that they will grow up to be like minded gun hating liberals.

This goes beyond the textbooks as well for Common Core provides template worksheets to help teachers bring to bear, not only the destruction of the 2nd Amendment but the cheapening and undermining of all the Bill of Rights.

In Bryant, Arkansas the following “assignment” was handed out to sixth graders.

I know it’s a little fuzzy so I’ll highlight the important bits.

“The Government of the United States is currently revisiting The Bill of Rights. They have determined that it is outdated and may not remain in its current form any longer.”

It then goes on to tell the kids, that basically, a poll is being taken to see what can be cut out of the Bill of Rights. It even leads them into thinking that they are participating in a task force called the National Revised Bill of Rights Task Force.

“Your task as a member of the NRBR Task Force is to prioritize, revise, prune two and add two amendments to The Bill of Rights.”

The kids assignment was to cut the Bill of Rights, one of the most important and defining documents in human history, like a drunken plastic surgeon and add LOL’s and emoticons to it so it can be less “outdated.”

Since when is liberty EVER outdated?

Here’s the best part though, after parents complained it came to light that the students hadn’t been taught ANYTHING about how ratifying the Constitution works. They weren’t taught how government actually works but bamboozled into thinking that the Bill of Rights could be easily discarded by some “task force” for being viewed as outdated. Common Core doesn’t care about actually teaching but rather pushing their own ideology on impressionable minds.

Unfortunately, the Common Core approved textbooks and worksheets aren’t the end of it, but rather only the beginning. For the teachers who are teaching this drivel use the textbooks to strengthen and justify the passing on of their own hatred for the 2nd Amendment.

Even an 8th grade girl who KNOWS about the Constitution was browbeaten by her teacher in hopes of breaking her and her belief in Liberty. Take a look at the following excerpt from a test of an 8th Grade Girl from South Carolina:

To clarify, the writing in blue is from the parents of the girl, the crossed out answers are the girls and were replaced by the teacher.

A person gets pulled over for a traffic stop, the police DO NOT have a right to confiscate that gun and there are lawsuits aplenty in which that has been proven at the detriment of taxpayers paying settlements. And having your property seized has NOTHING to do with the 2nd Amendment but EVERYTHING to do with the 4th.

This teacher is towing the gun controller zealot line and trying to dash out the spark of liberty in the young so that they may be led to believe that the government has rights to take your property without reason or cause and that it is perfectly fine for them to do so.

It’s NOT.

But that doesn’t stop the gun haters from trying. The following text is approved Common Core material for elementary school students:

Once again, a bastardization of the 2nd Amendment in order to promote a statist mindset that runs AGAINST what the 2nd Amendment is actually intended to protect.

Firstly, they remove “the right to keep and bear arms” and instead say that the people have the right to “certain weapons.” Beyond laying the mental foundation in children to believe that gun bans are somehow constitutional it also promotes the idea that you may have your weapon so long as you don’t use/carry/bear it in any way.

Then it flat out LIES that your weapon must be registered. This is the fool notion that some believe, such as President Obama, that the majority of states require you to register your firearms. That is untrue. The VAST majority require nothing of the sort and some have ACTUAL laws preventing the state from creating a registry.

When you get down to brass tacks, Common Core reminds me of Josef Stalin. Stalin said (loose translation): “It doesn’t matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes.”

So too does Common Core get to reject any semblance of common sense and the truth, as its intention is to indoctrinate and control the minds of tomorrow by misleading and lying to them today.

Gun hating, history distorting, brainwashing may play in places like New York City and San Francisco but that is where they should stay…and that is why Common Core has got to go.

‘People Have a Right to Certain Weapons…’: School Workbook Rewrites 2nd Amendment

A workbook given to Illinois middle schoolers redefines the Second Amendment. The workbook entry was pointed out by the father of a seventh-grader in Springfield, and posted to a Facebook page named Illinois Gun Owners Rights.

Instead of teaching the Constitution’s text, which states, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed,” the school district replaced that with its own interpretation.

“This amendment states that people have the right to certain weapons, providing that they register them and they have not been in prison. The founding fathers included this amendment to prevent the United States from acting like the British who had tried to take weapons away from the colonists,” the workbook stated.

The school’s superintendent, Bob Hill, defended the wording, arguing that it reflects the reality of the Second Amendment “in the context of 2014.” Nevertheless, parents were outraged at the school’s decision, with the teacher and the head of the history department agreeing with them that the lesson should be changed.

Judge Andrew Napolitano gave us his take on Fox and Friends this morning, explaining that the Supreme Court has upheld in separate cases that the “right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental liberty [that] comes from our humanity.” He pointed out that the Constitution prevents the government from interfering with that fundamental right.

Napolitano added that Illinois is the worst state in the nation for someone who wants to own a gun.

“Illinois has worn away at the right to keep and bear arms more than any other state in the union and the statistics show it. What’s the worst city in the country for murders? Chicago. What’s the second worst? District of Columbia. Where is it most difficult to keep and bear arms? Chicago and the District of Columbia. This [superintendent] is making it worse by giving students in the suburbs around Chicago an inaccurate understanding of their rights,” he said.

Hypocrisy will be the true Obama legacy

Never before in the history of our nation has the population been so divided along economic lines. Wealth envy and class warfare are tearing a nation that once believed in hard work, sacrifice and personal responsibility, into one where wealth redistribution is not only promised, but demanded by those who have learned to play the system. Leading from behind on this issue is President Obama. He has gone to great lengths to convince millions of gullible Americans that the nation only works for rich people and that the rich are systematically oppressing the poor. Never from President Obama do you hear about the success stories that made this nation the most prosperous on earth, nor do you ever hear important messages concerning the issue of taking responsibility for yourself. Instead he fans the flames of the so called “have not’s” in order to keep a support base which demands he implement “social change” in the name of total equality. One would not be too far off arguing that he is truly putting the infamous “Cloward and Piven” plan in motion.

While the president continues to play the class warfare game, little attention is paid to the fact that he is among the rich that he convinces his loyal followers to hate. The president’s net worth is estimated to be 11.8 million dollars. Its claimed that the president amassed this wealth through the sales of his two books, “Dreams of my Father” and “The Audacity of Hope.” Perhaps, though they really are not that good and have since been discredited as it appears weather underground terrorist Bill Ayers wrote at least one of them. Personally, I don’t have a problem with Obama’s net worth, not until he starts playing his class envy, identity politics games anyway. (Though, it should be noted that democrats that typically push class envy are among the richest in government.) The fact is that the president’s annual salary is $400,000.00, which means as president, Obama has made roughly two million. It would be interesting to see how the president is earning the rest of that money.

Given the net worth of the Obama family and the fact that they are constantly fanning the flames of financial discontent, is it any wonder the nation finds itself outraged by Michelle Obama’s latest, lavish Chinese vacation? Flying on a government aircraft with her two daughters and mother, Mrs. Obama is spending tax payer money to flatter the Chinese with her presence, while her husband continues to call everyday Americans who are struggling to make a living, greedy and selfish for not wanting their taxes raised, or, for opposing obamacare. (Lowercase o on purpose) This blatant hypocrisy will be the true legacy of the Obama presidency as everything the man has involved himself in has been nothing but smooth double talk from a master of Chicago style hard ball politics. The real slap in the face comes with the knowledge that Queen Michelle will not only spend someone else’s money on her illustrious vacations, but she has the audacity to tell the press they can’t interview her while doing so. Just who do these people think they are?

Leaked documents reveal plan to counter online dissent during martial law

Leaked Homeland Security documents obtained by Infowars reveal details of a joint DHS/FEMA national exercise set to take place this week, one of the components of which revolves around an effort to counter online dissent by a group called “Free Americans Against Socialist Tyranny,” which is disgruntled at the imposition of martial law after an earthquake in Alaska.

The document again underscores the federal government’s obsession with characterizing libertarians and conservatives as some kind of extremist radical threat.

The document (PDF) was leaked by an individual affiliated with Stewart Rhodes’ Oathkeepers organization and passed on to Infowars. It is entitled National Exercise Program – Capstone Exercise 2014 – Scenario Ground Truth.

The document is intended for “U.S. Department of Homeland Security Trusted Agents Only” and is “disseminated only on a
need-to-know basis.” Even the role players involved in the exercise itself are prohibited from seeing the files.

The exercise is designed to evaluate readiness in preparation for a catastrophic incident, natural disaster or major act of terrorism. Some of the scenarios which will be in play during the exercise include a series of earthquakes, tsunamis and a nuclear weapons accident.

On page 125 of the document, a scenario is outlined whereby a group calling itself “Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny” responds to “The U.S. Northern Command mission of Defense Support to Civil Authorities” (or the imposition of martial law) by launching a protest campaign on social media and potentially engaging in cyber attacks.

According to the scenario, the campaign is driven by suspicion that “the government is responsible for the Alaska earthquake and a “hacktivist” manifesto.”

“The U.S. Northern Command mission of Defense Support to Civil Authorities has led to increased activity by some anti-government organizations,” states the document. “Currently, the most vocal organization is Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny; using social media, they advertise anti-U.S. rhetoric focusing on the Department of Defense as well as to recruit like-minded individuals to join their “cause”.

“While some Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny members are capable of conducting adverse cyber operations, the greatest threat is current government employees sympathetic to their cause,” the document adds. “It is believed that there are employees within US Northern Command, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, National Guard, and Defense Information Systems Agency that may support Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny doctrine based on individual comments on social media sites. Free Americans against Socialist Tyranny sympathizers may include both former and current members of the military with training on satellite communications, computer network defense, network operations, as well as military command and control.”

The scenario also suggests that Northern Command members sympathetic to Free Americans Against Socialist Tyranny may attempt to hack the North American Aerospace Defense Command as a form of retaliation.

This is by no means the first time that the Department of Homeland Security has characterized anti-big government Americans as domestic extremists.

A study funded by the Department of Homeland Security, details of which emerged in 2012, characterized Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority,” and “reverent of individual liberty” as “extreme right-wing” terrorists.

As we have exhaustively documented on numerous occasions, federal authorities and particularly the Department of Homeland Security have been involved in producing a deluge of literature which portrays liberty lovers and small government advocates as extremist radicals.

The document also mentions the threat posed by “disgruntled military and Department of Defense civilians,” which ties into the talking point, repeatedly promoted by the DHS and other federal agencies, that returning veterans pose a major domestic terror threat.

The Capstone Exercise 2014 document makes it clear that a key part of the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA’s preparation for the aftermath of major catastrophic incidents in the United States is centered around combating online dissent which will be sparked as a result of federal authorities and military assets instituting martial law, or what the document refers to as “Defense Support to Civil Authorities”.

This is particularly chilling given reports that emerged in 2006 concerning a nationwide FEMA program under which Pastors and other religious representatives were trained to become secret police enforcers who teach their congregations to “obey the government” in preparation for a declaration of martial law, property and firearm seizures, and forced relocation.

The fact that the DHS is focusing its cyber security efforts during a major national exercise not on targeting foreign state actors or terrorists but on combating online dissent by conservatives is sure to increase concerns that the federal agency once again has libertarians, patriots and small government activists in the crosshairs.

What Happened to Uncle Sam?

Once upon a time, in a country of good and hardworking people, everyone felt a kinship with Uncle Sam who represented a supportive, benevolent, and trustworthy government. No matter what the circumstances, We-the-People knew we could count on Uncle Sam who honored the Constitution, and always represented our best interests.

In those not-so-long ago days, America’s brave warriors had fought against tyranny and for freedom in Europe and Asia. We prospered with manageable taxes, smallish government, and opportunities galore to launch and expand business. Jobs and career opportunities were plentiful. Parents socked dollars away for retirement and college funds for their children. American students BDE (Before the Department of Education) consistently placed #1 in worldwide rankings of academic achievement.

We-the-People continued to trust Uncle Sam to protect our best interests and make correct decisions about when and where to send our brave warriors to help other countries fight for freedom on their soil.Uncle Sam

Does this sound like never-never land? It wasn’t. These were the “good old days,” before progressive liberals came into power.

This was America at a time when it seemed our best days stretched out into the future, toward an endless horizon of possibilities. Safe, secure and comfortable, We-the-People shifted into snooze control.

Zzzzzzz.

We failed to notice how our values, formerly shared with Uncle Sam, no longer were quite so shared.

We failed to notice the gradual erosion of adherence to our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and the Rule of Law.

We failed to notice destructive actions being taken by our elected representatives who:

  • Tossed aside campaign promises and supported policies that enhanced their personal wealth but diminished it for everybody else.

  • Broke into grandma and grandpa’s piggy banks and stole Social Security and Medicare dollars to redistribute to “favored” supporters.

  • Shifted allegiance to new “best” friends (special interest groups) who supported re-election campaigns to keep their bought-and-paid-for representatives in positions of power for happily ever after.

  • Turned our government into an uncontrolled debt machine.

  • Passed legislation that chip-chip-chipped away at our Judeo/Christian traditions.

  • Promoted involvement in foreign wars with no clear cut objective or end plan that squandered blood and treasure, and resulted in defeat and retreat.

  • Supported intervention of teachers’ unions and federal regulations that dumbed down our education system and trapped America’s children in government-controlled “flunk factories.”

How could this have happened?

While We-the-People were snoozing, Uncle Sam was shoved over a cliff and replaced by his evil twin, Uncle SCAM, the poster child for something gone terribly wrong in America.

He and his cohorts represent the most powerful, ruthless, and corrupt political machine seen in our recent history. Their goal? The fundamental transformation of our country, by hook or by crook (mostly the later).uncle sam

Those who comprise Uncle SCAM’s corrupt core occupy our White House and include Chicago socialist liberals, left-wing, current-and-former congress people, community organizers, Ivy League endowment babies, heads of powerful commissions and congressional committees, bureau chiefs, lobbyists, advisors, bankers, socialists, labor union thugs, and a communist or two: all of whom hate unlimited freedom for anyone but themselves.

Their agenda involves control over everything from freedom of speech to education to healthcare. They rub their greedy hands together in glee with “Mawwaaaahahaha” (evil laugh), as they snatch power and become more entrenched as the “political elites.”

America’s president and his misses are perfect examples of this privileged class. The “first couple” enjoy luxurious, taxpayer-funded vacations for themselves and friends in Hawaii, Spain, Africa, Ireland, China, Mexico, etc. They throw lavish parties for celebrity pals and foul-mouth rappers, but lock the doors of our White House to keep out We-the-Riffraff. (The reason for the lockout? Budgetary concerns. Really? The cost to keep the White House open for one year is $2 million dollars: less than the cost of a typical Obama family-and-friends vacation.)

You gotta’ hand it to Uncle SCAM. His minions have been quite successful in achievement of fundamental transformation. Their programs of redistribution of wealth, esteem-based education, free food, free cell phones, free contraceptives, free abortions, politically correct speech, promotion of class, race, and gender warfare, and penalties for success drag America down to the lowest common denominator.

Their shining accomplishment is almost complete. We-the-people have been duped.

We’ve lost our doctors and healthcare we could afford. Our 1st Amendment to freedom of religion is being destroyed. Sad to say, Uncle SCAM’s promised solution to fix America’s economic and healthcare woes is doing just the opposite (which was the plan all along). We’ve become a nation of part-time workers, have suffered massive job loss, and millions of families have become enslaved to Uncle Scam’s handouts of welfare and food stamps. But wait, it gets worse, much worse.

Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, who earned much praise from conservatives for his documentary “2016: Obama’s America” spoke with The Tea Party News Network regarding his current battle with Obama’s Justice Department and the nature of the Obama Administration’s willingness to deal with political dissent through brute force.
 
In January, D’Souza was indicted for alleged campaign finance law violations. Prosecutors charge that D’Souza used straw donors to provide money to a U.S. Senate candidate in 2012.
 
TPNN met up with D’Souza and asked about the legal battle and questioned if the indictment was politically-motivated given his outspoken views on President Obama.
 
D’Souza responded that he is trying to avoid saying anything directly about the pending legal actions, but noted that the Obama Administration has a history of dealing with political dissent with force.
 
“I do think that Obama was unnerved by ‘2016,’” D’Souza began. “We know that because he had a diatribe about it on his website, BarackObama.com. I can also see from just looking around that the government has been using its power to target its opponents.
 

This is kind of an Alinsky-ite strategy. [Saul] Alinsky came up in Chicago and Alinsky says that he learned a lot of his tactics from the mafia and he points out that the way to win in politics is not to treat your opponent as a well-meaning good guy, but to make him a bad guy; treat him not as a critic, but an enemy. And that seems to be the modus operandi of this administration.”

 
D’Souza’s criticism comes as Obama’s IRS remains under fire after it was revealed that for years, the tax-collecting agency targeted Tea Party and conservative groups for harassment prior to and after the 2012 re-election bid.
 

D’Souza and many other conservatives have long pointed to Saul Alinsky as a model for Obama’s political strategy. Alinsky advocated a radical brand of politics that focuses on seizing and maintaining political power as a means of creating radical change in society and government.

GUN REGISTRATION ALWAYS LEADS TO GUN CONFISCATION


Protesters burn gun registration forms

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Nearly a thousand gun registration forms were turned into ashes Sunday.

The forms are used for people to register with New York State Police firearms that meet the state’s definition of military-style assault weapons. The deadline is April 15. Gun rights advocates gathered at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161 to burn the papers in a symbolic protest.

E.J. Stokes, leader of the Warren County chapter of New York Revolution, said he was participating because he believes in the U.S. Constitution.

“Once the Second (Amendment) falls, the rest will go with it. It’s an unconstitutional law, done in the middle of the night with no input from the public,” he said.

The event was organized by the NY2A Grassroots Coalition. NY2A co-founder Jake Palmateer said the goal is for people not to register their assault weapon as an act of civil disobedience.

“We are opposed to registration because the evidence is clear that registration leads to confiscation,” he said.

He and others hope that so few people will fill out the forms, that the registry portion of the SAFE Act “collapses under its own weight.”

He estimates that less than 3,000 New York assault weapons have been registered and he says Sate Police estimated that there are several hundred thousand. The gun industry believes the number may be high as 1.2 million, according to Palmateer.

He added that similar gun control legislation in Canada proved to be unworkable.

The second purpose of the event was to kick off advocacy efforts for the 2014 election. NY2A will be vetting Assembly and Senate candidates for their stance on gun rights.

“Make sure we are putting people in who are pro-civil rights. Ultimately, this is a civil rights issue,” he said.

The SAFE Act infringes on due process rights, the right to privacy and the right to equal protection under the law, according to Palmateer.

About 230 people attended a forum to discuss the issue before the burning. Similar forums held across the state have been well attended, Palmateer said. Gun groups will be holding a big rally April 1 at the state Capitol.

Kevin Sisson, a Carlisle councilman in Schoharie County, said he and others are defending the Constitution.

“We are not extremists,” he said. “We are simply free men who love our country.”

Motives are often questioned in politics. In a sense, one cannot question motives, because there is no way to know with certainty what is going on inside the mind of another person. On the other hand, one can—with near certainty—understand motives by studying someone’s past actions. Additionally, motive can be uncovered by studying the nature of man.

The immigration debate has me questioning motives. The reasoning behind amnesty seems obvious to me. For many average American liberals, amnesty is fair. They actually believe that we should grant citizenship to those who have come here outside of the law. However, the elites in Washington know exactly what they want out of amnesty: votes. They want 11 million or so new Democrat voters.

For many countries, the path to citizenship is a difficult one, one that requires skill. These countries want the best and brightest. This makes sense. Allow me to make an analogy. Every year, Ivy League schools across the country wade through thousands of applications in order to decide whom they will allow into their school. They often set very high standards. Many times, not even a high GPA will guarantee a spot. Why do they do this? They do this to make sure that their school remains competitive, and is able to churn out graduates who will excel in their fields of study. If these schools didn’t set high standards, and as a result, admitted nearly anyone who applied, they would no longer remain competitive. Their quality would be greatly diminished. The same applies to citizenship.

The United States seems to be the only modern nation whose immigration policies are scrutinized, and we’re not even close to being the strictest in terms of whom we allow into our country. Why is it that conservatives are constantly being shamed for disagreeing with amnesty? Why is it that conservatives are beaten down for wanting to be competitive? There are a million possible answers, but by understanding past actions, and the nature of human behavior, those possibilities are significantly narrowed.

Democrats, as well as many, many Republicans are smitten with big government. I believe this is because with bigger government comes greater power. Combine a large, matriarchal government with an influx of millions of low-skill workers, and what do you get?

  • You get a recipe for dependency.
  • Low-skill individuals are much more likely to need government assistance, and a portion of those recipients will take advantage of that assistance.
  • Those who take advantage will continue to vote for those who gave them all the free stuff.
  • If this portion of people is large enough, we will forever fall under one Party rule.

We are already facing a crisis in terms of the percentage of Americans on government assistance. Over the last decade, the number of Americans on assistance has skyrocketed. There are those who deny this theory, who naively believe that very few would ever take advantage of the system. To those people, I say: take a look at the numbers.

  • Human nature is greedy.
  • Given this situation, adding millions of new people to the system who will very likely require government assistance,
  • we would be living in a country in which those who are contributing are outnumbered by those who are taking.

Once the contributors are outnumbered by the takers, we will have reached a tipping point at which time a conservative will never again win a national election. The Democrats want to keep a hold on their power, and the best way to do that is to make sure a conservative Republican never even has a chance. The magic weapon? Amnesty. A flood of low-skill workers. The most absurd part about it is that many Republicans will go along with the plan, because they are afraid of not being liked, or they mistakenly believe that the plan will benefit them as well. These Republicans are staggeringly naïve, and are contributing to the destruction of our country.

Could I be incorrect in my assessment of the motives of the Left? No. I know this because I’m not a moron, and I can see patterns, and I recognize the darkness of human nature. We are dying, and amnesty is the weapon that did us in. 2016 is our last chance to turn this ship around.

When, exactly, did every ridiculous little aspect of our lives become a “political” issue?

I can’t be the only  one who remembers a time when the government didn’t care if I wore a bike helmet, or ate a bag of chips.  In fact, we had a lot of latitude before political activism came and spoiled the fun.

There was a time when you could order a chicken dinner, without it being a political statement, or when pro sports were just interested in how well you played the game.

There was a time when a lemonade stand could be a kid’s first business venture, without some bureaucratic rules-lawyer killing that dream with zoning laws.

Maybe you can remember when a scout’s biggest worry was poison ivy, not political indoctrination. That was back before boy scouts (Canada) became co-ed and girl scouts (USA) supported Planned Parenthood.

Do you remember a time when useful products weren’t outlawed on the basis of contested health studies — BPA, for instance?

Do you remember a time when we weren’t drowning in fine print and waivers?  A time when people could tell a joke — even an off-colour one — without offending someone?  Did people just have a better sense of humor back then?  Were they less uptight?

Have we really come to a place where a 26 year old gold medallist with a wife and kid has an “alternative lifestyle”?

It wasn’t that long ago when some feared religious people holding government positions, because it was alleged that they “wanted to control everything”.  The worry was that they would “cram the Bible down our throats”, and curtail everyone’s freedoms.  They would meddle in people’s lives where they had no business doing so.

People obviously believed the hype.  Those with known religious convictions (unless decidedly “liberal”) were increasingly edged out of influential positions.

Whatever the underlying causes, the paradigm shift has taken place, and people hostile to the earlier conservative and/or religious convictions have taken the reigns.

What was that accusation, again?  Oh, yes.  “If you let those crazy Christians into government, they’ll create a Theocracy!”

This alleged Theocracy would be a Bad Thing, as the story goes, because they would insist on controlling every detail of your personal life.  They would (gasp!) moralize, and finger-wag!  Imagine the horror!

In one sphere of society after another, agents hostile to traditional values have used tried-and-true tactics to gain an upper hand.

What were their strategies?  Surely you’ve seen them in action:

Don’t try to win the argument, it’s better to just discredit the person you’re arguing with, and win by default…  Emotional appeal, sarcasm, and innuendo are always better than honest debate…  Have a TV panel of three guests dog-pile on one token conservative, so their view seems foolish and minority… Shout them down… Call them fascists…  Claim religious convictions invalidate their argument… Play the victim card! Don’t worry about “playing fair”… Tactics don’t matter so long as you win.

But then came the bait-and-switch. Our “liberators” started to dictate things — lots of things.  The meddling and scheming they had long accused others of became their primary means of remaking the world in their image.

Every time these guys raise an issue, they dress it in political clothing.  Why?  Because political problems will always require a political solution.

Observe: In 1969, Canadian sodomy laws were stuck down on the grounds that (and I quote) “There’s no place for the State in the bedrooms of the nation.”  Since nobody was actually enforcing those laws anyway, that seemed a reasonable response. Fast forward 40 some-odd years, to when foreign policy is being decided based on American opinion of ANOTHER nation’s domestic policies concerning what may or may not happen in the bedrooms of THOSE nations.

See what just happened?  See how quickly we went from “don’t force your values on me” to demanding that other countries comply to values they do not hold?  Just a little bit hypocritical, hmmm?  Their own buzzword for such action is “Imperialistic”.

It isn’t just sex, either.  Every issue is potentially political. From food labeling and health care to leisure pursuits, education, and it extends over a whole range of various products and services.  It goes right down to our supposed freedom of speech, whether on the sports field (NFL) or even what language your company’s Facebook page can be written in.

Once an issue is made political, you have adequate pretext for two things.

First, you can shut down most opposition with the convenient — albeit inaccurate — “separation of Church and State” mantra.  (This allows the next step to proceed unopposed.)

Next, they claim that this “political” issue will require a political solution.

(Everything is political for these guys.  Politics IS their religion, and it’s a religion that will tolerate no rivals.)

This means legislation, control, bigger government, and ultimately, forced compliance for their version of the Utopian Dream.

Curiously, however, this Utopia is always “just over that next hill”.  You know, it’s the hill where their next rival is making a stand.

There will always be a scapegoat. There will always be a victim.  It’s part of the formula they use. Then, once the dust settles, there will always, ALWAYS, be that much more power concentrated in the hands of those who crave it most.

You know those freedoms conservatives and Christians keep defending?

You don’t really need those, they’ll only slow down the “progress”.

Forward, Comrade! Forward!

The Left has a long track record of lying about their intentions. Recently, they have lied about Obamacare, claiming it was meant to give the poor an opportunity at healthcare. We all know there are numerous ways by which the healthcare industry can be fixed without a massive government takeover, but that’s the point. The Left doesn’t care about the poor, they want bigger government. They think it is for the betterment of man that we be under the loving care of a monstrous matriarchal government.

Every effort made by the Left at legislation is designed to push our country toward their ultimate goal: a Marxist paradise. Most of the country doesn’t want to live in soviet Russia, so the Left must disguise their policy as something good and lovely.

Resist AmnestyThe issue at the top of the liberal agenda is immigration. They know that if they can grant amnesty to the millions of illegal immigrants in the United States, those immigrants will eventually be allowed to vote. Guess who they’ll vote for? Yeah, Democrats. Republicans will never again win an election. Liberals have denied on many occasions that their ultimate intention is voting rights. They have claimed many times that the notion that they want illegal aliens to vote is preposterous. They just want “equality.” Finally, someone has said it.

Donna Brazile let the cat out of the bag. This is how they’re going to play the game. They’re going to first ask for legal residency. After that, the Left will rise up, and pretend to feel bad for the apartheid nation we have created, in which some can vote, and others are left in the cold. Then the faux sympathies being projected by the Left will get picked up by the media, and run around the clock, until it somehow seems like a good idea to grant them full citizenship. Then the Left—who once claimed to never ever want illegal immigrants to have voting rights—will have won the game.

The Left will win in part because the Republicans will go along with whatever the Democrats do, thinking it will benefit them. Republicans will follow the Democrats into a hell of the Democrats’ making. There were several ways the voting rights for illegals situation could have gone, but Donna Brazile just revealed the course being taken by the Left. Just wait and see.

I’m going to ask you to bear with me for the next few minutes and open your mind as I put forth a personal hypothesis that addresses this very issue.

If you are convinced individual freedom is a bad thing, my goal is not so much to change your mind but rather have you ask the question “Why is it a bad thing?”

I believe much of our thinking today is heavily influenced by individuals and entities whose ideas and proposals have not been thought through to their conclusion and consequences.

We have come to rely on unsustainable promises and sound-bites, one being the bread and butter of our political leaders and the other the bread-and-butter of the media. As a result of this dependency, we have become complacent and apathetic. We no longer do any soul-searching when confronted with proposals and ideas that on the surface have the appearance of doing great things, but in substance become destructive once they are implemented.

Sadly, once such proposals and ideas are implemented we then find ourselves being subjected to government being used to force us into submission and participation. Our frustrations are only compounded when our pleas for reason and rationale in the application of these ideas fall on deaf ears.

Consider the following proposal for one second.

Congressman A lives in a very rural district. Most of his constituents must travel 25 to 35 miles each way to go to work. Congressman A decides that a good political move would be to promise his constituents that he will ensure they have good reliable transportation to go back and forth to work. Congressman A decides that a good way to fulfill this promise is to introduce legislation that imposes a tax of $.50 per gallon to be used to subsidize auto purchases for his constituents. This will allow the constituents to purchase a new vehicle every two years thus ensuring good reliable transportation. The bill will be called “Rural Employment Access Means”; REAM for short.

Congressman A realizes he needs cosponsors and approaches Congressman Z who just so happens to represent a large portion of Detroit. Congressman Z, realizing the potential of garnering constituent’s votes through promising guaranteed auto sales, jumps on board right away. Congressman Z feels a better title for the bill would be the Better Urbanization Through Taxation plan; BUTT for short.

I think you know where I’m going with this.

They compromise on the title and give it the acronym BUTTREAM. The bill flies through both houses with hundreds of additions for additional revenue raising schemes each benefiting another politician.

I realize this is an oversimplification of the process, but sadly it is also truly representative of what goes on in Washington. Someone comes up with some grandiose idea or plan that will benefit this group or that group and then proceeds to enlist the government to force their ideas on the people.

While the politicians’ end game is to build up their voter base, the catalyst for most social programs can be found in the altruistic leanings of well-meaning individuals. They fail to see (and most time the voters fail to point out) that good intentions should never require forced participation.

So the next time you hear some politician promising what they are going to do for you, or some well-meaning individual promoting an idea or concept that is good for the general welfare of our nation, ask yourself this question, “Will their proposals be possible without the forced participation of the American people?” It the answer is no, then it is time for you to decide, do you want to live under Freedom or Force?

Mark Alexander wrote that in Mein Kampf (1925), Hitler’s autobiography regarding the BIG LIE, he indicated“the lie must be so ‘colossal’ that the public would be confident that no national leader could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously.” –patriotpost

Does “if you like your plan you can keep your plan, period” and “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, period” along with all the other promises made regarding transparency, oversight and accountability, qualify? Maybe not; but boarders on the following premise where Hitler further says:

“In the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods.

It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation. For the grossly impudent lie always leaves traces behind it, even after it has been nailed down, a fact which is known to all expert liars in this world and to all who conspire together in the art of lying.”

Hitler’s Propaganda Minister, Goebbels, affirmed: “the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. … It is the absolute right of the state to supervise the formation of public opinion.” Does mainstream media’s “love affair” with this administration possibly fit this narrative? Mainstream media goes whichever the wind blows in supporting or protecting the administration.

Alexander references Hitler’s assessment of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, or NAZI: “The party … must not become a servant of the masses, but their master.” With respect to the socialist state and individual Liberty, he wrote, “The unity of a nation’s spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and will of an individual; and that the higher interests involved in the life of the whole must here set the limits and lay down the duties of the interests of the individual.”

Hitler’s regime was founded on the premise that, “We are Socialists, we are enemies of the capitalistic economic system … and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.” Goebbels reiterates: “To be a socialist is to submit the I to the thou; socialism is sacrificing the individual to the whole.” Alexander provides another example for those failing to comprehend the comparisons he makes by citing Liberal economist Hayek’s comment: “There is no difference in principle, between the economic philosophy of Nazism, socialism, communism, and fascism and that of the American welfare state and a regulated economy.”

Obama said: “Make no mistake, we are headed in the right direction, but … we’re not headed there fast enough for a lot of Americans.” Many might interpret this to mean that our economy is improving? The following might reflect just the opposite:

The table above is self-explanatory. However, just visually comparing actual unemployed, those not in the labor force, and those living in poverty, not impressive. Considering all the legislation to “stimulate” employment and our economy; one could come to the conclusion that

  1. all the money was wasted and subsidized mainly special interest groups and
  2. there has been no “recovery. The poverty level is deplorable and inexcusable. So much for resolving issues regarding the “war on poverty.” Still, the actual “non-working” labor force number is approximately 91,469,765 is astounding.

Wholeheartedly believe that all the rules and regulations coming out of the many agencies in DC is a contributing factor with respect to the above statistics. They are killing entrepreneurial spirit in America for all races, ethnic and age groups. Maybe, that’s what this administration and elites want. They talk a good game, but their actions convey just the opposite. This moral outrage is a joke, and we are being played.

Heed these words, part 1: NYC Comptroller follows de Blasio’s Marxist lead

The other day I heard one of my favorite songs from that era by Missing Persons — “Words” —  and the refrain truly struck a chord: “What are words for, when no one listens anymore?” Unfortunately, with our sound bite mentality, we are no longer paying attention to words — to our detriment.

The progressive agenda being laid out by New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is truly frightening as we reported yesterday. He clearly articulated his plans to attack free market success in the nation’s largest city. Was anyone paying attention?

Scott Stringer, the new Comptroller of New York City, is unfortunately on the same page. Here’s some of what he had to say in his inaugural address:

There will be those who say that we as a city cannot afford to tackle poverty and inequality. As Comptroller, I say we can’t afford not to. I believe that pursing a progressive agenda and being fiscally responsible is not mutually exclusive. We can and we must do both… And just as America has historically looked to New York for inspiration, so the country once again turns its eyes toward us today, to this city, to our people, for a blueprint of a thriving hopeful future, to a city that puts people above politics, and shared prosperity above individual success.

I hate to break it to the NYC Comptroller, but it is impossible to pursue a progressive agenda and be fiscally responsible. A progressive agenda is rooted in a Marxist/socialist governing philosophy, which means a government-centric economy aimed at wealth redistribution to combat “inequality.” The result is and always has been that government grows in size and scope to provide more services under the guise of fairness.

It eventually leads to higher government spending and that means taking more resources from the hard working and/or more borrowing, an increase in debt, and of course larger deficits.

Stringer unabashedly articulates his bottom line for a progressive agenda: shared prosperity above individual success. Those words should send a chill down the backs of every New Yorker and every American. The Comptroller of the nation’s largest city does not believe in the fundamental premise upon which America was created — individual rights and determination.

This is the essence of the “collective vision” of a progressive agenda.  Yes, it’s a communist manifesto, the reduction of the individual and the elevation of the group, the collective. What are words for when no one listens anymore?

Perhaps some are listening because apparently Florida just surpassed New York in terms of population. Of course the weather is better down here, but I’m quite certain taxes have a little to do with the decision to move as well.

In his book The Road to Serfdom, F. A. Hayek lists the characteristics that make America an exceptional country. (1) independence and self-reliance, (2) individual initiative and local responsibility, (3) successful self reliance on voluntary activity, (4) noninterference with one’s neighbor and tolerance of the different and queer, (5) respect for custom and tradition, and (6) a healthy suspicion of power and authority. He attributes these as deriving from our Anglo-Saxon heritage. These characteristics, Hayek said, “…have molded the national character and the whole moral climate of England and America,…”

Even while listing those attributes, he warns that “…the progress of collectivism and its inherently centralistic tendencies are progressively destroying” this exceptional heritage. He cautions against centralized planning of business, industry, education, health care, and other systems that are necessary for our way of life. He readily admits that a system such as we have we had for the first 125 years of our union’s life is sometimes slow and awkward. But the trade off is that we have freedom to “pursue happiness.”

Obamacare_Road_to_Serfdom_Obama didn’t start all of this. This began with Woodrow Wilson, and Wilson’s inspiration, we are told, was a little book named Philip Dru Administrator: A Story of Tomorrow 1920-1935 by Edward Mandell House. (I’ll be writing more about this book and the author’s relationship with President Wilson later.) If you have never read this book, do so. It is available from Amazon.com in the Kindle edition for a pittance. It will send cold chills up your back. If you have read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, you will perhaps see some of the genesis of that huge novel. I don’t know whether Ms Rand knew about Philip Dru Administrator, but she was a well read person. I would guess that she knew about it.

We are witnessing today the streamlining of our country’s processes for achievement. Congress takes too long to pass laws. So we get a Presidential Executive Directives and Orders to get things done. Some of our laws, indeed many of our laws, date back to the twentieth century and even further back and sections of them have become antiquated. So we have a Department of Justice that advises the administration that it can ignore certain laws or certain sections of laws. Sometimes my wife accuses me of selective hearing. Well, I accuse the DOD of selectively cherry picking our laws, and that includes the Constitution.

At one time we proudly would say that we are a nation of laws and not of men. We can now say that we are a nation of decrees and regulations and not of laws. The citizens of the United States have been shuffled down and over to one side and ignored. Our congressmen, with a few exceptions, are like sheep being led to the slaughter. They talk a good talk, but they do not walk a good walk. When it comes right down to it, they are more afraid of the colleagues in leadership positions in the House and Senate and of the president himself than they are of the people who bestowed upon them the honor of representing them. Even the nine grave men and women who wear the black robes and sit in supreme judgment of lesser courts–with a couple of notable exceptions–have kowtowed to the president and his lackeys.

 We have the ballot box. We have primary elections. We have the power of recall. We have term limits. Let’s do what we need to do to rid ourselves of this mill stone that the Democrat party has hung around our necks. And, for goodness sake, let’s keep Hillary away from the White House. I know it’s a long time until the election of 2014 and even longer than the election of 2016, but we need to keep the fires burning in the furnace of our opposition to avoid being dragged any deeper into the quagmire of collectivism.

This Went Unnoticed: President Obama Added “Living Wages” to the Bill of Rights

The White House issued a presidential proclamation declaring December 15th Bill of Rights Day. That’s very nice except that he added Karl Marx’ living wages to his interpretation of the Bill of Rights. He can never simply talk about the US Bill of Rights without adding propaganda.

By doing that, Mr. Obama is attempting to change the meaning our Founding Fathers ascribed to the document.

The proclamation is fine until it the third paragraph (emphasis mine):

We learned that our Nation, built on the principles of freedom and equality, could not survive half-slave and half-free. We resolved that our daughters must have the same rights, the same chances, and the same freedom to pursue their dreams as our sons, and that if we are truly created equal, then the love we commit to one another must be equal as well. Americans with disabilities tore down legal and social barriers; disenfranchised farmworkers united to claim their rights to dignity, fairness, and a living wage; civil rights activists marched, bled, and gave their lives to bring the era of segregation to an end. As we celebrate the anniversary of the Bill of Rights, let us reach for a day when we all may enjoy the basic truths of liberty and equality.

Since when did Thomas Jefferson include a living wage in the Bill of Rights? When Mr. Obama mentions farmworkers, Mr. Obama is referring to people primarily here illegally, also not what the Founders had in mind.

There is nothing in here about entitlements which is what a living wage is:

It might do Mr. Obama some good if he thought about what the Founders actually did say. For instance, they said taxation without representation is tyranny.

Obama is propagandizing the Bill of Rights to convince the American people that a guarantee of living wages is part of our Constitution.

The right to work hard and have equal opportunity is guaranteed, not entitlements.

Ya’ know what’s fun? Watching a capitalist destroy a socialist in 2 minutes  flat!

The brilliant Milton Friedman preached the truth of capitalism being the best  economic system for humanity throughout the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. In 1979, he  went head to head with popular talk show host and noted socialist Phil Donahue.  With stunning ease he skillfully pulls down the liberal talking points about the  supposed “evils” of capitalism and proves that, while capitalism may be flawed,  its flaws are not unique to itself. Friedman destroys Donahue’s objections to  capitalism by pointing to history and by comparing it to other economic systems,  showing that Donahue’s objections to capitalism are also inherent in his  preferred system of socialism.

My personal favorite line…

In the only cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of  grinding poverty you’re talking about, the only cases in recorded history are  where they have had capitalism and largely free trade.

Phil Donahue:  When you see around the globe the maldistribution of  wealth, the desperate plight of millions of people in underdeveloped countries,  when you see so few haves and so many have-nots, when you see the greed and the  concentration of power, did you ever have a moment of doubt about capitalism and  whether greed’s a good idea to run on?

Milton Friedman:  Well, first of all, tell me, is there some society  you know that doesn’t run on greed?  You think Russia doesn’t run on  greed?  You think China doesn’t run on greed?  What is greed?  Of  course none of us are greedy. It’s only the other fellow who’s greedy.  The  world runs on individuals pursuing their separate interests.  The great  achievements of civilization have not come from government bureaus.   Einstein didn’t construct his theory under order from a bureaucrat.  Henry  Ford didn’t revolutionize the automobile industry that way.  In the only  cases in which the masses have escaped from the kind of grinding poverty you’re  talking about, the only cases in recorded history are where they have had  capitalism and largely free trade.  If you want to know where the  masses are worst off, it’s exactly in the kinds of societies that depart from  that.  So that the record of history is absolutely crystal clear that  there is no alternative way, so far discovered, of improving the lot of the  ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are  unleashed by a free enterprise system.

Phil Donahue:  But it seems to reward not virtue as much as ability  to manipulate the system.

Milton Friedman:  And what does reward virtue?  Do you think the  communist commissar rewards virtue?  Do you think a Hitler rewards  virtue?  Excuse me, pardon me – Do you think American presidents reward  virtue?  Do they choose their appointees on the basis of the virtue of the  people appointed or on the basis of their political clout?  Is it really  true that political self-interest is nobler somehow than economic  self-interest?  You know, I think you’re taking a lot of things for  granted.  Just tell me where in the world you find these angels who are  going to organize society for us… I don’t even trust you to do that.

Obama’s Secret Treaty Which Will Merge America More Deeply Into The Emerging One World Economic System

Did you know that the Obama administration is negotiating a super secret “trade agreement” that is so sensitive that he isn’t even allowing members of Congress to see it? The Trans-Pacific Partnership is being called the “NAFTA of the Pacific” and “NAFTA on steroids”, but the truth is that it is so much more than just a trade agreement. This treaty has 29 chapters, but only 5 of them have to do with trade. Most Americans don’t realize this, but this treaty will fundamentally change our laws regarding Internet freedom, health care, the trading of derivatives, copyright issues, food safety, environmental standards, civil liberties and so much more. imageIt will also merge the United States far more deeply into the emerging one world economic system. Initially, twelve nations will be a party to this treaty including the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam. Together, those nations represent approximately 40 percent of global GDP. It is hoped that additional nations such as the Philippines, Thailand and Colombia will join the treaty later on.

There are some very good reasons why Obama does not want the American people to know anything about what is in this treaty. This agreement will impose very strict Internet copyright rules on the American people, it will ban all “Buy American” laws, it will give Wall Street banks much more freedom to trade risky derivatives and it will force even more domestic manufacturing offshore.

It contains a whole host of things that Obama would be unable to get through Congress on his own. But he is hoping to spring this on Congress at the last minute and get them to agree to this “free trade agreement” before they realize all of the things that are contained in it.

The secrecy surrounding these treaty negotiations have really been unprecedented. The following is an excerpt from a recent article by Kurt Nimmo…

“Since the beginning of the TPP negotiations, the process of drafting and negotiating the treaty’s chapters has been shrouded in an unprecedented level of secrecy,” Wikileaks notes in a statement on the release of the TPP draft. “Access to drafts of the TPP chapters is shielded from the general public. Members of the US Congress are only able to view selected portions of treaty-related documents in highly restrictive conditions and under strict supervision. It has been previously revealed that only three individuals in each TPP nation have access to the full text of the agreement, while 600 ’trade advisers’ – lobbyists guarding the interests of large US corporations such as Chevron, Halliburton, Monsanto and Walmart – are granted privileged access to crucial sections of the treaty text.”

And Obama reportedly is seeking “trade promotion authority” which would give him the ability to sign this treaty before Congress even votes on it…

Normally free -trade agreements must be authorized by a majority of the House and Senate, usually in lengthy proceedings.

However, the White House is seeking what is known as “trade promotion authority” which would fast track approval of the TPP by requiring Congress to vote on the likely lengthy trade agreement within 90 days and without any amendments.

The authority also allows Obama to sign the agreement before Congress even has a chance to vote on it, with lawmakers getting only a quick post-facto vote.

This is so insidious that it is hard to find the words to describe it.

In essence, Obama is trying to make a giant end run around Congress on dozens of different issues that are addressed by this treaty.

Fortunately, there are at least some members of Congress that are waking up to this. Earlier this week, a small group of Republicans and a small group of Democrats both sent Obama a letter condemning this “free trade” agreement…

Separate groups of House Republicans and Democrats on Tuesday condemned the Obama administration’s proposed sweeping free trade agreement with 11 Pacific nations, known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Strongly worded letters to President Barack Obama Tuesday were signed by hardline tea partiers, true-blue progressives, and moderate, corporate-friendly lawmakers in both parties, indicating political trouble for a trade deal the administration had hoped to seal by year end.

This is one of the most important political issues facing our nation here at the end of 2013, and yet you hear next to nothing about this treaty on the mainstream news. If this treaty is approved, the United States will be permanently bound by the provisions of this treaty and will never be able to change them unless all of the other countries agree…

Countries would be obliged to conform all their domestic laws and regulations to the TPP’s rules—in effect, a corporate coup d’état. The proposed pact would limit even how governments can spend their tax dollars. Buy America and other Buy Local procurement preferences that invest in the US economy would be banned, and “sweat-free,” human rights or environmental conditions on government contracts could be challenged. If the TPP comes to fruition, its retrograde rules could be altered only if all countries agreed, regardless of domestic election outcomes or changes in public opinion. And unlike much domestic legislation, the TPP would have no expiration date.

Are you starting to understand just how dangerous this treaty is?

Let me give you just one example of how this treaty could directly affect you.

Do you remember SOPA?

There was a huge public backlash when the very strict Internet copyright provisions of SOPA were revealed to the public, and the American people loudly expressed their displeasure to members of Congress.

But now the provisions of SOPA are back. Most of them have reportedly been very quietly inserted into this treaty. If this treaty is enacted, those provisions will become law and the American people will not be able to do a thing about it.

And according to an article in the New York Times, there are all sorts of other disturbing things that have been slipped into this treaty…

And yet another leak revealed that the deal would include even more expansive incentives to relocate domestic manufacturing offshore than were included in Nafta — a deal that drained millions of manufacturing jobs from the American economy.

The agreement would also be a boon for Wall Street and its campaign to water down regulations put in place after the 2008 financial crisis. Among other things, it would practically forbid bans on risky financial products, including the toxic derivatives that helped cause the crisis in the first place.

Are you starting to grasp why the Obama administration is so determined to keep this treaty such a secret?

In addition, this “free trade” agreement will push the ongoing deindustrialization of America into overdrive. Every year, we buy hundreds of billions of dollars more stuff from the rest of the world than they buy from us. Tens of thousands of American businesses have been lost as a result, and millions of good jobs have been shipped overseas.

If you are not familiar with our “trade deficit”, you really should be. It is one of the issues at the very heart of our economic problems. Posted below is a short 3 minute video that briefly discusses the trade deficit and why it is so important…

Trade Deficit

Slowly merging our economy with the rest of the planet has been absolutely disastrous for America. Just consider the following statistics…

-Overall, the United States has run a trade deficit of more than 8 trillion dollars with the rest of the world since 1975.

-The United States has lost more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities since 2001.

-Back in the year 2000, there were more than 17 million Americans working in manufacturing. Now there are less than 12 million.

-There are less Americans working in manufacturing today than there was in 1950 even though the population of the country has more than doubled since then.

-Back in 1950, more than 80 percent of all men in the United States had jobs. Today, less than 65 percent of all men in the United States have jobs.

-When NAFTA was pushed through Congress in 1993, the United States had a trade surplus with Mexico of 1.6 billion dollars. By 2010, we had a trade deficit with Mexico of 61.6 billion dollars.

-Back in 1985, our trade deficit with China was approximately 6 milliondollars (million with a little “m”) for the entire year. In 2012, our trade deficit with China was 315 billion dollars. That was the largest trade deficit that one nation has had with another nation in the history of the world.

-According to the Economic Policy Institute, America is losing half a million jobs to China every single year.

-According to Professor Alan Blinder of Princeton University, 40 millionmore U.S. jobs could be sent offshore over the next two decades if current trends continue.

Once upon a time, our great manufacturing cities were the envy of the entire planet. In fact, at one time Detroit actually had the highest per capita income in the United States.

But now Detroit is a rotting, decaying, festering hellhole that is completely bankrupt. And there are dozens of other formerly great manufacturing cities that are heading down the exact same path.

These “free trade” agreements are neither “free” nor “fair” when you really examine them, and they are absolutely eviscerating the middle class.

Please urge your representatives in Congress to block the Trans-Pacific Partnership. If this treaty does get approved, it is going to make a lot of our problems a whole lot worse.

The President Who Has Done the Most Damage

I have been broadcasting for 31 years and writing for longer than that. I do not recall ever saying on radio or in print that a president is doing lasting damage to our country. I did not like the presidencies of Jimmy Carter (the last Democrat I voted for) or Bill Clinton. Nor did I care for the “compassionate conservatism” of George W. Bush. In modern political parlance “compassionate” is a euphemism for ever-expanding government.
But I have never written or broadcast that our country was being seriously damaged by a president. So it is with great sadness that I write that President Barack Obama has done and continues to do major damage to America. The only question is whether this can ever be undone. This is equally true domestically and internationally.
Domestically, his policies have gravely impacted the American economy. He has overseen the weakest recovery from a recession in modern American history. He has mired the country in unprecedented levels of debt: about $6.5 trillion dollars in five years (this after calling his predecessor “unpatriotic” for adding nearly $5 trillion in eight years). He has fashioned a country in which more Americans now receive government aid — means-tested, let alone non-means tested — than work full-time.
He has no method of paying for this debt other than printing more money — thereby surreptitiously taxing everyone through inflation, including the poor he claims to be helping, and cheapening the dollar to the point that some countries are talking another reserve currency — and saddling the next generations with enormous debts. With his 2,500-page Affordable Care Act, he has made it impossible for hundreds of thousands, soon millions, of Americans to keep their individual or employee-sponsored group health insurance; he has stymied American medical innovation with an utterly destructive tax on medical devices; and he has caused hundreds of thousands of workers to lose full-time jobs because of the health care costs imposed by Obamacare on employers.
His Internal Revenue Service used its unparalleled power to stymie political dissent. No one has been held accountable. His ambassador to Libya and three other Americans were murdered by terrorists in Benghazi, Libya. No one has been blamed. The only blame the Obama administration has leveled was on a video maker in California who had nothing to do with the assault.
In this president’s White House, the buck stops nowhere. Among presidents in modern American history, he has also been a uniquely divisive force. It began with his forcing Obamacare through Congress — the only major legislation in American history to be passed with no votes from the opposition party. Though he has had a unique opportunity to do so, he has not only not helped heal racial tensions, he has exacerbated them. His intrusions into the Trayvon Martin affair (“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”) and into the confrontation between a white police officer and a black Harvard professor (the police “acted stupidly”) were unwarranted, irresponsible, demagogic and, most of all, divisive.
He should have been reassuring black Americans that America is in fact the least racist country in the world — something he should know as well anybody, having been raised only by whites and being the first black elected the leader of a white-majority nation. Instead, he echoed the inflammatory speech of professional race-baiters such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. He has also divided the country by economic class, using classic Marxist language against “the rich” and “corporate profits.” Regarding America in the world, he has been, if possible, even more damaging. The United States is at its weakest, has fewer allies, and has less military and diplomatic influence than at any time since before World War I.
One wonders if there is a remaining ally nation that trusts him. And worse, no American enemy fears him. If you are a free movement (the democratic Iranian and Syrian oppositions) or a free country (Israel), you have little or no reason to believe that you have a steadfast ally in the United States.
Even non-democratic allies no longer trust America. Barack Obama has alienated our most important and longest standing Arab allies, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Both the anti-Muslim Brotherhood and the anti-Iran Arab states have lost respect for him.And his complete withdrawal of American troops from Iraq has left that country with weekly bloodbaths. Virtually nothing Barack Obama has done has left America or the world better since he became president. Nearly everything he has touched has been made worse.
He did, however, promise before the 2008 election that “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” That is the one promise he has kept.

I don’t know how many of our readers will have had the pleasure of listening to the great Paul Harvey. His radio show was a tradition at my house as a child, and I am really grateful that my parents made it so. Thanks to www.birtherreport.com I came across this video that was aired on Sean Hannity’s show earlier this week. Mr. Paul Harvey represented an excellence in broadcasting that may never be seen again. Mr. Harvey was one of my early mentors and he, as much as anyone, taught me how to think for myself. I miss this man more than you know.

I had never heard this piece before today, despite being a long time Paul Harvey fan.

dick_sanders_and_paul_harvey50 years ago there was a portion of a book entitled The Naked Communist entered into the congressional record. I would bet my bottom dollar that Harvey was well-acquainted with that book. It was a warning for America. In that particular case, it was labeled as “The 45 Goals for the Communist Takeover of America.”

I write about this stuff a lot and catch a lot of grief for it. The problem is that a lot of people don’t want to swallow the whole pill. For instance, a lot of people accept most of the list but feel that The Bible really is obsolete. Some would accept most of the immoralities but don’t feel that homosexuality is wrong. The truth is the truth. Cleon Skousen was not an authority on all things, but he knew exactly how communists were planning to break down this country.

It hurts to look at this list and know that I have played a part in that. For instance, I am divorced. It pains me that I can’t be with my two oldest girls every day. I have been part of the problem, and I must admit that. Until we all admit our own faults, nothing gets done.

To fix a problem, you must first acknowledge it and acknowledge your part in it.

At any rate, here is the list of the “45 Goals for the Communist Takeover of America.” I thought today might be a good day to look at them again because I think it is a perfect complement to Harvey’s message.

1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev’s promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.

14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture–education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or 

treat].

39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.


40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [“]united force[“] to solve economic, political or social problems.

43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.

44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.

45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike.

Almost every one of the things on this list has either been achieved or is very close to being achieved. A few don’t seem completely relevant in 2013 but at one time I am sure they were.

We all have opinions, but I think it’s pretty simple. We look at a socialist push in this country, and we look at an Obamacare package that we do not want, and we want to blame everyone but ourselves.

We created this. The breakdown of morality in society created this. They can push any lousy idea they want to now because the morally bankrupt people in this country outnumber God’s people. This will not be easy to fix, but it can be done.

It’s about consistency. You do not only obey the parts of the constitution or the parts of God’s law that you want to obey. It’s not a Chinese Buffet. Everything was put there for a reason.

The identity and history of the United States has been revised and rewired to the point where those who speak with authority on the grounds of historical scholarship are laughed off the stage in favor of those who speak with the heart of a revisionist and the scorn of an Alinski disciple. Indeed, they have proven Saul right.

Mockery is a powerful weapon when your audience is comprised of low-information citizens.

Personally, I believe someone like David Barton or Mark Levin could hold their own against any number of Howard Zinn-types, but their efforts would be lost on a great swath of Americans today. There is less regard for a verifiable, historical position than for history which fits a desirable emotion. Feeling good about our history seems to be more important than being accurate about our history.

The requisite emotionalism of modern Leftism refuses to play second fiddle to historical scholarship and an increasingly apathetic populace gives a collective “meh” in-between episodes on the boob tube. So Thomas Jefferson becomes a Muslim sympathizer, George Washington becomes a gleeful slave-owner, and the Democrats become the party of civil rights.

I don’t know about you, but I feel better already, comrade!

Recently, Mark Levin has been speaking about the existence of Two Americas. One America desires the redistributive suffocation of a massive Federal leviathan which will provide and control everything; and one America desires to be left alone. One America understands that hardship is a very real possibility yet is not willing to trade their liberty in the hopes of ameliorating failure. And one America holds their liberty so cheaply as to give it away for a bowl of hot stew across a campfire. One America is a gaping maw whose belly knows no satiation and whose ignorance knows no shame. The other America refuses to take anything for which they didn’t toil, yet willingly opens their homes, wallets, and hearts to help alleviate suffering in their community.

One gives while the other takes. One builds while the other tears down. To which America do you belong? To which America do your friends and neighbors belong? To which America will your children belong? Political pundits are wont to shake their heads ruefully and verbally pine for the days past when there was less political acrimony. I pine for the days of greater political acrimony. Complacency and cowardice are the appetizers of tyranny. If it means an end to the radical progressive agenda galloping roughshod over our Constitution, then let the political kumite commence.

The time is coming when every American will have to choose which America is their own. For some, it will take the form of the decision made by an Oregonian baker and his wife, driven out of business by homofascists in their community, to voluntarily shutter their business rather than kneel to politikal korrectness and forsake their Christian beliefs on the altar of Mammon. Or there may come a time in your life when you are presented with prosperity via government intervention. Have you thought about what your response would be to that offer? You should. We all will choose an America, one way or another. And if you think that you can avoid choosing one vision or the other, let me remind you that neglecting to choose is a choice in itself.

I understand that most of this is a sermon for the choir. My objective is not to tell you what you already know, but to encourage you to tell those in your circle of influence what you and I already know. We are a relatively small group of informed and agitated citizens, but we are operating in a nation of sleepwalkers. The willful blindness which I see from my fellow citizens is alarming and frustrating, but I become complicit in that blindness if I refuse to help them see.

If a blind-folded man is walking towards a cliff, who is more to blame for his demise: the blindfolded man or the man by his side who neglected to remove his blindfold? Chances are that there was someone along your path who pulled the blindfold from your eyes and helped you to see the light. It is past time to repay that heroic individual and start yanking some blinders. As Rush encouraged years ago, you don’t need a special skill or a media outlet to make a difference. Read your brains out and become a resource in your community. Make the case and win the day.

“We Have Plenty Of Money If We Just Loot More People”


There has never been a clearer picture of Socialism than the following story. No longer is the Radical Socialist Left Wing spinning their intentions. Now they are outright saying, “We are Socialist and proud of it.”

The words came from Democratic Representative Keith Ellison of Minnesota:“The bottom line is we’re not broke, there’s plenty of money, it’s just the government doesn’t have it.”

 

You couldn’t ask for a clearer portrayal of the ethics of plunder. “We” are the government and “we” are not broke because all the government needs to do is to take money from other people. Ellison was advocating for his “Inclusive Prosperity Act.” He explained, “The government has a right, the government and the people of the United States have a right to run the programs of the United States. Health, welfare, housing – all these things.”

 

The looting mechanism proposed in the “Inclusive Prosperity Act” is a sales tax on every sale/purchase of a stock, bond, or derivative. This would arguably be destructive to the economy, but I’ll leave that argument to the side. Instead, let me ask, if everything turned out as rosy as Ellison pretends, would we be better off? Ellison claims his new tax would rake in $300 billion a year.

 

I have no idea how realistic his assumptions are. Is he assuming that there would be no reduction in sales of stocks, bonds, or derivatives? Whatever. Pretend he is right and we get $300 billion a year coming into the government. What does he want to do with it? The Bill itself says the money will be used to “fund international sustainable prosperity programs such as health care investments, AIDS treatment, research and prevention programs, climate change adaptation and mitigation efforts by developing countries, and international assistance.”

 

I’m not going to address the value of these goals, or if they are based on hallucinations, in some cases, or not. We don’t need to go into all that. The essential point here is that Ellison is questing for more government spending. The best you can say about him is that he doesn’t admit that he wants to increase the national deficit. But what was that deficit? For 2012 the national deficit was over a Trillion dollars for the fourth year in a row.

 

So the man who is telling us that “we have plenty of money,” even if we assume he really can get all the revue he claims he can get, year after year, is powerless. $300 billion wouldn’t even cover a third of the national deficit if we didn’t spend it on anything else.

 

So, even by these wildly optimistc claims, we are still just a larger version of Detroit heading toward inevitable collapse and bankruptcy. Ellison would loot more people to simply make our financial situation even less safe. He is living in a dream world.

Stalin_HitlerFor decades, even while he was in power, Adolf Hitler was attacked as a right-winger. Of course, his racism provoked that assessment as well as his militarism; however, when put to the test and proper study, what we have been taught and what we have been told by learned scholars is completely wrong. The obviousness of that fact is plain if one sits down and looks at the reality. Hitler was no free thinking, wild eyed individualist — he was a corporatist and a socialist.

First of all, we have him admitting his socialism. He doesn’t call Nazism by anything else other than National Socialism. Professors I know would be flipping their lids at me for daring to say what I am saying, but I knew they were lying when I was studying this. How could Hitler, who controlled Churches, Media, Schools, the Military, Health Care and everything else, be a right-winger? Was it because he was a racist? So, racism apparently makes a Nazi, or member of the National SOCIALIST German WORKER’S Party a right-winger? How convenient.

When I was in school, as in high school, I was always wondering why my teachers called Hitler right-wing. After learning about the rise of National Socialism in Germany, and then Communism, I was struck by similarities. When I asked about this issue, I was told well, they had similarities but really they were far different. That seemed convenient then and it makes zero sense now. Why, you ask? I’ll explain.

Any form of government that controls healthcare, the economy, education and the news media is totalitarian by definition. And if the government controls the economy, either through out-right central control or through large scale corporations, they are socialist. Healthcare control is just a freebie because, if you control the economy, you by virtue of that will control health care. Nazi controlled Germany was all that. So, why would professors, high school teachers and so called learned scholars throw Adolf Hitler and his love of the worker, and controlling people’s lives even to whom they married, be so happy to throw him at us? I have a theory. It is not that complicated. Just follow my line of thinking.

Hitler and his minions wanted to control Germany. They said they were patriotic Germans. This lie helped them establish their credentials with the veterans of the First World War and conservatives who were looking to anyone to give Germany back her place in the world. The Communists were not patriotic.

Here’s the difference: the message. Hitler knew how the rank and file German folk felt about Germany and he used it. His later rantings, as Berlin was being razed to the ground and his empire was reduced to a city block, proves that he was no more a German Patriot than any Communist his brown shirts killed. In other words, Hitler used patriotism to get power. There is a lot more to be said about this subject but there’s no space here to talk about it.

Hitler was able to harness the German’s love of discipline for his efforts. The Germans were very easy to seduce. Now think about this: almost 15 years of staggering, mind-boggling inflation, lawlessness and amorality and here’s this small man with a small mustache going on about law and order and morality. In reality, he was no more law-abiding or worried about morals than the people he wanted to destroy, the Communists. He used the German fear of Communism to shove National Socialism down the Germans’ throats and they didn’t realize it. It was a choice between two versions of Lucifer and they had no idea because they were so brow beaten and done.

So were Adolf Hitler and his minion’s right-wingers? When I think of “right-wing” I think of Libertarians, no centralized government. People governing themselves. I don’t think of an institution of any kind save for a military to protect interests, borders etc. I don’t think of institutionalized racism, forced euthanasia, forced military service, and zero free press. How is any of that “right-wing”?

Is merely calling Hitler a right-winger a sales pitch to sell the same thing he was selling? Did these leftist educators have to make Hitler look like a Republican, a rugged individualist, in order to sell what he sold? Think about it.

I asked that question when I was a sophomore in high school. My Dad agreed with me, of course. HE was the person who taught me to ask questions that began with “yeah”, “but” and “why”. The more I asked, as I grew older, the angrier the response was. When I was a senior in college I realized how much I’d been lied to. Hitler, for all of the garbage I’d been told, was actually one of THEM. And what’s worse they knew it. They know it still.

It is time for some honesty about history. It’s time for the facts. Adolf Hitler was a left-wing socialist. Just because he called himself a National Socialist does not make the facts untrue. He was a corporate fascist socialist.

Now I can hear the leftist scholars freaking out at this fact. He would not have been able to control Germany without the help of large corporate entities. He did not go to the conservatives for money. Outward support and for tea and sympathy, yes, but for real support he ran to Krupp, Thiessen and the rest. Because, unlike other socialists, he knew you can’t go anywhere without money. He followed Mussolini’s lead. A socialist with the veneer of a corporatist. And that, my dears, is a fascist and that is also a kind of leftist socialist.

Facts are what they are. History is an undeniable force. She is strong in her ways and all consuming. She’s about the facts. It is time, when we talk about Germany and its bizarre experiment with National Socialism, to have those facts. Nazism is socialism splashed with corporate support on steroids and that is a fact. That is history.

Terrifying! Obama Regime Unveils Behavior Modification Program to ‘Nudge’ Americans

FOX News reported on Tuesday that the government has created a “Behavioral Insights Team,” which is intended to influence the behavior of Americans. It is being referred to as a “nudge” because the team’s approach has been dubbed “subtle.” One can only assume that such “nudges” are  intended to be the second part of a governmental, one-two punch, the first being ham-fisted executive orders. The first forces compliance; the second is designed to mesmerize one into voluntary acquiescence. The program isn’t in planning stages. It has already been implemented. FOX reports:  “…the White House is already working on such projects with almost a dozen federal departments and agencies including the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Agriculture.”

The government release touts the advantages of the program: “Behavioral sciences can be used to help design public policies that work better, cost less, and help people to achieve their goals…the (Behavioral Insights) team would ‘experiment’ with various techniques, with the goal of tweaking behavior so people do everything from saving more for retirement to saving more in energy costs. Anyone interested in working for the White House in a ‘nudge’ squad? The UK has one and it’s been extraordinarily successful.”

The program cites benign examples of its intentions. But White House inspired behavioral modification experimentation won’t stop at cajoling us to save more for our old age.  It is less about helping people achieve their goals than it is to help The Lyin’ King’s regime to achieve its goals. In this, the British government was far more honest. Quoting from the U.K.report: “In 2010, UK Prime Minister David Cameron commissioned the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT), which through a process of rapid, iterative experimentation (“Test, Learn, Adapt”), has successfully identified and tested interventions that will further advance priorities of the British government, while saving the government at least £1 billion within the next five years…” Among the U.K.’s concerns were to get tax payers to fork over 30 million pounds of extra tax payments, which they did in three months. They also successfully convinced the public to take advantage of  full-cost, government attic-clearance services. The British government realized a 500% increase in the purchase of  their services and of attic-insulation.  Evidence exists that the Lyin’ King’s power-hungry regime wouldn’t stop there.

Although the White House is painting its usual, self-serving picture, experts warn that there is nothing to stop government’s “we know best” snowball from turning into an avalanche. Michael Thomas, an economist at Utah State University, aired his concerns to FOX News: “Ultimately, nudging … assumes a small group of people in government know better about choices than the individuals making them. And sometimes… government actually promotes the wrong thing.” No kidding.

David Laibson, behavioral economics professor at Harvard University, is working with the government on the program. Laibson’s involvement in the program is right up The Lyin’ King’s alley; his verbal contortions outdo mountain switchbacks. First, Laibson states that “Every intervention would need to be tested to make sure (the program) works well…” Then Laibson added that the way the team will function is still unknown. Finally, Laibson “hopes the government will shy away from involving itself from controversial policies.” Well,  Elvis certainly departed that auditorium ages ago. Laibson ends with a bang: “Let’s say we want people to engage in some healthy behavior like a weight loss program, and then start automatically enrolling overweight people in weight loss programs — even though they could opt out, I’m guessing that would be viewed as offensive …”  Why assume one could “opt out”? Horrifyingly, Laibson believes it would be problematic not because of automatic enrollment but because “a lot of people would say, “…this is judging who I am and who I should be.”

FOX News ends with a cautionary note from Jerry Ellig, an economist with the Mercatus Center: “If you can keep it to a ‘nudge’ maybe it can be beneficial…but nudges can turn into shoves pretty quickly.” Mr. Ellig is dead wrong about a nudge from government being beneficial. A “nudge” from government is never beneficial to anyone except to government. We have almost five years of evidence of that.

It started simply enough. Four airplanes were hijacked and used as bombs against America; killing innocents as well as their executioners. It went downhill from there.

George W. Bush took it upon himself to try to ensure America’s safety. In order to do so he implemented one of the biggest sweeping changes in American government’s history. The birth of “Homeland Security” was done with good intentions, acknowledged. Too bad good intentions often go astray. The current administration took the start of the path to perdition and put it on full speed ahead: the Titanic captain had nothing on this admin!

Suddenly, we have this:

“[The President] has emulated Lenin in striving to increase state control over such ‘commanding heights’ of our economy as energy, health care, finance, and education, with smaller forays into food, transportation and undoubtedly some areas I am overlooking.”

Of course, it could be that he’s not actually a Communist, but is a Socialist instead:

“Contrary to claims made in 2008 by [the president], his staff, and supporters, he was a member of the socialist New Party in Chicago.”

It’s not just his membership in the Socialist Party that makes him a Socialist, it’s his actions as well. Whatever he is, he isn’t following the precepts of our Founding Fathers and no one can successfully argue that statement.

The president has taken America very quickly away from the Founding Fathers’ vision of America. By hook or by crook, he’ll get what he wants:

“Just look at how this administration is trying to do an end run around the people by having the Environmental Protection Agency impose stringent regulations when it couldn’t even get the overwhelmingly Democratic Congress to pass the socialist cap-and-trade bill.”

The question that becomes the issue: Is he taking us toward Communism or toward Socialism? In the long run, it doesn’t matter. Socialism (which we know via his membership card) is something that we know he believes in. With this president though, it looks like his Socialism leads to our Communism.

To clarify,

“Socialism manages the economy through planned collective social control, while communism tend to manage both the society and the economy by making sure that the properties are owned by the centralized organization to gain classlessness and statelessness. Both communism and socialism tend to prevent the effects of capitalism.”

So if Communism’s defining moments come when the economy is under control of the government, what do you call the long list of economic impacts the president has had while doling out taxpayer dollars to whomever he likes? Add the 20% of the economy that his health care plan will control (until it buckles under its own weight). Just last month the president released his Climate Action Plan:

“It is this war on coal that would prove the most costly, with hundreds of thousands of lost jobs and $1.47 trillion of lost national income by 2030. [my bolding]“

Taxes and his tax plan may round out the list, but it does not finish it. There are things not yet mentioned, but I must keep the article a readable length. The fact that his tax plan impacts us in that,

“The most serious consequence would be slower economic growth, less job creation, and less wage growth. Secondarily, the smaller income gains would reflect back on federal revenues, offsetting much of the revenue growth the president hopes to achieve with the tax increases. State and local budgets would be adversely affected as well.”

Established: The president was a card-carrying member of the Socialist Party as a younger man (for all we know, may still be).

Established: The president has manipulated the economy and has had a drastic impact upon it.

Established: The difference between a Socialist and a Communist is whether the government is in control of the economy, as well as the social arena.

Established: The president is in control of the economy.

Therefore: The president is a Communist.

We also know he’s allowing more drones to take to the air to keep an eye on us. We know he’s not above suing states to keep them from enforcing their own laws. We know he tries to stifle the votes of those whom he believes will vote against him.  We know he’s hiding his background from us. We know he lies to us constantly.

We also know he willingly allowed four Americans to die in Benghazi and did nothing to help them: “Stand down!” He did not seek out and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law those responsible for Brian Terry’s death. We know there are questions surrounding other deaths related to the president (Jamie Zapata and Judge John Roll among others).

Some Thoughts I want to Share With You


The turmoil we are experiencing in America each day has a single common root; Spiritual Darkness. That is the foundation for most of the stresses, crime, social discord and evil found in our society today. God inspired the Apostle Paul to give us an answer when He had Paul write a letter to all the churches he had ministered. Tychicus, a Christian man and helper of Paul’s,  was tasked with inserting the name of each church in the beginning of the letter before he read the letter to them. In our Bibles we find a copy of that letter, the book of Ephesians.

In the sixth chapter Paul is inspired to write, “10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” – (Eph 6:10-12) NIV. The Holy Spirit wants us to know that all the battles we face in this life is spiritual in nature.

Starting at the beginning we learn that the nature to sin was originated with Adam and Eve. Their fall from grace was the result of their disobedience in eating the fruit from the tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. That knowledge has been passed down to every person ever born on this earth. No exceptions, except Jesus, Who was the result of God’s divine nature impregnating a young virgin girl, Mary.

Jesus also taught us this lesson found in John, chapter three. All too often we preach and teach about the first seventeen verses and neglect the powerful teaching about this issue. “19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”  (John 3:19-21) NIV

“Men love darkness instead of the light…..” That says it all. People of the Extreme Left are made up of those that have chosen DARKNESS for their lifestyle because they were born with the knowledge of God that their life choices are contrary to His will, and therefore, contrary to God Himself. Rather than admit their choices are wrong and all their philosophies are wrong, all their doctrines are wrong and that all they stand for, defend and fight to change, are wrong, wrong, wrong, they curse the light and cling to the darkness. I am sure you know people like that; they will never admit they are wrong.

Those of us who have come to the light have confessed our sins admitting that our life choices are wrong, and we have chosen to submit to the Lord Jesus Christ, making Him the Lord of our lives and yielding to His Holy Spirit to walk in that Light, AS HE IS THE LIGHT (John 1 & 1st John 1). That walk is not withourt it’s challenges, yet He is faithful Who has promised to uphold us with His mighty hand. Darkness hides people for what they are, and the motivations behind all they say and do.

The Apostle Paul wrote the the church in Rome, “18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”  (Rom 1:18-20) NIV

Therefore, all human beings are without excuse before God because we are all born with the knowledge of good and evil. That is why people surround their lives with noise to drown out that still, small voice of God saying, “This is the way and I want you to go. Now walk in it.”

I believe that is the reason the people claiming to be Atheist are so adamant about driving Christianity out of our society. Notice they never attack Catholic’s, Muslims or any other form of religion? Only Christianity is found in their cross-hairs of hatred and strife. Consistent are their efforts to quiet the voice of Christ followers, and our freedom in America to practice our faith and express it openly.

No longer can we say, “I can express my faith in America without fear of reprisal.” Those days are gone because of the efforts of the Socialist Left who want us to stay quiet and stay to ourselves. The persecution of Christ followers is growing in ever rapid pace. The vitriol, hatred, false accusations, misrepresentation of what we say, is becoming more common with each passing day. The day is fast approaching under the Extreme Political Left Wing that being a Christian will be a crime. Already Homeland Security, The State Department and the Department of Defense has labeled Christians as a group pf people to keep a eye on fearing we will cause trouble of some sort, and labeled possible terrorist.

EVIDENCE OF THE GROWING GODLESSNESS OF OUR GOVERNMENT:

The people the Bible identifies as “Fools” where people who did not know God, or wanted to have anything to do with God. They included the religious of that day, and throughout history, their offspring are following in the same path. We think that only Atheist fall into the “Fool” category, but in reality, anyone who claims they don’t know if their is a God, no God at all, or are simply religious in their thinking and conduct, are denying the living God and the record of His will, the Bible.

These people are free with their opinion about everything, and any opposition is considered hateful and argumentative.  The entire Extreme Left falls into this “Fool” category, and those claiming to be Atheist find comfort, security and acceptance in the Socialist wing of the Extreme Left.

Detroit proves this truth of God, and there are many other cities and States (California being one of them) that are about to go the same way.  America is thick with politicians convinced they are above the law, a law unto themselves and will never be brought to answer for their deliberate destruction of our towns, cities, counties and States. Praise God we also find a remnant of politicians that are genuinely humble before God and the status of their governance is good, growing and secure.

Without a genuine Holy Spirit powered revival, we are rushing headlong toward a bloody civil war, race war and demise of all our freedoms and an America that will not look like anything our Godly Forefathers had in mind as God influenced the design and birth of the United States of America. History is obvious that God has formed two countries for His Own; Israel and the United States of America. Our country was form by God for the spreading of the Gospel worldwide. Now, the churches we’ve planted are sending missionaries to us praying Americans will find Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to turn this country around.

I have been praying for revival since December of 1982. I will not give up. I believe God is not done with America, but our sins cannot go unpunished. Will you join me in praying for Revival?

Obama Ignores Congress – Sends $500 million Of Taxpayer Money To Hamas

Once again we are bending the rules to send money to fund terrorists and once again the media lap dogs are ignoring it. Maybe it’s just not big news anymore. It’s not like the Royals had a baby or something.

Why is it not big news when we send aid to Palestinians? I am not sure but this seems to be the norm. Remember that $4 Billion Dollar Aid package that John Kerry put together for Palestinians a couple of months ago? Probably not because it went virtually unreported just as this case will.

In the interest of National Security, Barack Obama chose to waive congressional restrictions on aid to Palestinians on Friday Afternoon. The Washington Times reports:

President Obama on Friday afternoon ordered another waiver of congressional restrictions on direct funding of the Palestinian Authority, clearing the way for more U.S. aid.

In the one-page order, Mr. Obama said he was taking the action due to the “national security interests” of the U.S. The move comes as the administration is preparing to host renewed direct talks in Washington between Palestinians and Israelis for the first time since 2010.

The president in March directed about $500 million to be sent to the Palestinian Authority, also waiving the restrictions set by Congress. At the time, Secretary of State John F. Kerry said he was seeking to move another $200 million to the Palestinians.

Some lawmakers oppose the aid, both because of sequestration budget cuts and the Palestinian Authority’s ties to the terrorist organization Hamas.

Supporting Hamas? Interesting choice. Evidently CAIR is in need of help in that task. Donations must be down.

John Kerry and Google continue to recognize Palestine as a country so it’s no surprise that this administration would want to throw countless billions of dollars at them. If I was trying to create my own country I would certainly want them to be well-funded. However, like most Americans, my budget gives me two choices: an ant farm or Sea Monkeys.

If I ever get appointed Secretary of State, however… game on.

As for waiving the congressional restrictions… Let’s turn back the clock to see if we can find a recent example of the United States waiving restrictions on aid.

We don’t have to look too hard. John Kerry recently waived restrictions on aid to Egypt. That cost us $1.3 Billion and it seems to have worked out very well. One wonders if Morsi got the money into his bank account before all of the civil unrest started. Our foreign policy is a joke.

I am not sure why we even have a legislative branch in 2013 because it’s obvious that Obama and company are going to do what they want anyway.

Whether this money eventually finds its way into the hands of terrorists, or not, is not entirely the point. Americans are sick of hearing how we need to make cuts, tighten our belts and sacrifice while our government keeps sending money elsewhere.

All expenditures need to be done with the utmost discretion now. When we put our families on budgets we have to make tough choices. If we can’t send money to Palestinians because of our own economic troubles that would be understandable. We simply don’t have the money and need to quit pretending that we do.

And once again, as for the congressional restrictions that were lifted, the laws are in place for a reason. Looking back it would seem that the restrictions would have saved us from throwing money to a bad situation in Egypt and I suspect that time will reveal the same result here.

There is not much you can do, however, with a dictatorial-minded president in office.

This is the change that Americans voted for.

The Ed ShowIt is truly a sad thing to think that some people rely on MSNBC for their “news”.  After hearing some of the ridiculous stuff spewed by a few liberal family members, I am pretty sure they are avid viewers.

MSNBC is a disgrace.

Over the weekend, Ed Schultz, host of “The ED Show” on MSNBC had the following to say:

“Detroit, Michigan used to be, really, a symbol of industrial strength and manufacturing in this country, but thanks to a lot of Republican policies, the city is now filing for bankruptcy…”

“…earlier this year, (Governor) Snyder appointed emergency city manager, Kevyn Orr, who has taken over Detroit’s finances.  This, bottom line here, is an unelected official who began selling off public assets and slashing public services.  Detroit has just 1/3rd of its ambulances in operation.  The average emergency response time for Police in this city is 58 minutes.  And when you have horrible public services, no one wants to live in the city, which means less tax revenue to fix all of the problems and the needs of the public.  It is a very vicious cycle.  It’s the Republican way, and Snyder’s emergency city manager is to blame.”

Let us examine what Stupid, sorry, Ed, is trying to pawn off on his viewers.  Democrats have been in charge of Detroit since 1961, when the City’s last republican mayor lost his reelection campaign.  Since then, the city has had Democrat mayors and Democrat policies.  “Earlier this year” (ie: at most, less than 8 months ago), an emergency city manager was put in place by the Republican Governor of the state, and since he was unable to fix 52 years of Democrat destruction in 8 months, it is the Republican’s fault!

What on God’s green earth is this moron smoking?  How does this idiot have his own television show?  How stupid do you have to be to believe the crap coming out of this man’s mouth?

Obama’s Organizing For America Chairman On Immigration: “We’re Going To Force It Through The House”

Jim Messina, the man who is Barack Obama’s former campaign manager and now is the chairman for Obama’s advocacy group, Organizing for America, recently said that the group is going to push for comprehensive immigration reform in the U.S. House of Representatives. “We are going to force it through the House,” said Messina.

The Washington Post reports that Messina added, “I will sit with you and cry when Barack Obama signs his name on that law and millions of people come out of the shadows.”

What exactly does Obama have in mind? It appears that it is pretty much everything that is in the Senate’s amnesty bill which passed 68-32 at the end of June. Not only did it contain a $5,000 penalty for hiring hiring citizens over legalized aliens, but there were a number of serious financial and national security issues that were in the bill as well.

Though OFA has not come close to meeting its $50 million goal for donations, it has barely received $13.1 million through June, claiming the support of 237,000. The organization is the first in history to go from a campaign to an advocacy group, as we told you about. Yet though they have held more than 6,500 events about the country calling on Congress to pass tougher gun-control laws and approve comprehensive amnesty, they have not been quite as effective at actually affecting legislation.

The advocacy group has received criticism from local party officials for targeting four conservative Democrats who would not support stricter background checks for gun purchases.

Tony Lee points out, “OFA generated embarrassing headlines when it only attracted eight people last month in Indiana and twenty in Tennessee for rallies in support of immigration reform.”

While the numbers seem to be against them fulfilling their mission, OFA chairman Messina says otherwise. “Of course, the naysayers are back saying, ‘Oh, change is hard,’ ” Messina said, adding, “You haven’t seen nothing yet. I just need double the amount of work and two and half times the money,” he said. “We are off to a very fast start . . . but we’ve got to double down.”

This simply means that we as Americans will have to continue to stand fast against the socialist agenda being put forth by the Obama administration and OFA and continue to demand that our leaders do what we tell them to. Of course, that will require that we remove those from office, like John Boehner, who doesn’t think it’s his job to take a stand on the issues and lead.

He does not instruct us to look down upon them though the windows of capitalism. Why then on the Fourth of July should you celebrate such a radical break from what is Godly and just? No doubt there are many voices warning you of the harm of big government. They are wrong. Government can provide you with what family and friends cannot. If this is gone what will you have?” 

Many in the crowd seemed uneasy, and desperate for some sort of clarification. Julie Barks, an intern from Louisiana State University, asked President Obama, “Are you saying we should not celebrate the birth of our country?”

President Obama responded, ”I believe we should celebrate where we are going. Celebrate moving forward. Not where we have been.”

When talking to fellow conservatives, one interesting question to ask them is why they are registered Democrat when they have nothing in common with them. The answer inevitably comes back to Labor Unions. The Union Movement was founded to protect workers, and has a great history in its founding with gaining worker protections, fair wages, and benefits. But now the power has gone too far, and instead of being concerned about workers, Unions seem to be more worried about electing liberals to office. The once proud union history has turned into one of bankrupting companies through ridiculous pensions that no one would be able to pay. Pensions should be outlawed and replaced with retirement accounts, but that’s a story for another day.

Some states have Right to Work laws where union membership is voluntary and you can’t be forced to join as a condition of employment. One of the arguments against Right to Work is that workers enjoy the benefits without paying dues. This is not true. The National Labor Relations Act makes it so unions can represent all, but are not required to do so.1 If union membership is all it’s cracked up to be, then why in Right to Work states do they have lower unemployment?2 You would think that pro-choice liberals would like the ability for workers to be able to choose their membership. They can have separate contracts for their members and if their benefits are competitive for the dues paid, wouldn’t members join? There is the true power of the unions as they collect $9 billion in union dues.2 Which in turn seem to be paid out to liberal politicians that frequently don’t have workers best interests at heart.

One of the most outrageous things was Coal Unions supporting Obama.3 There is no defense for anyone wanting to mine coal to support Obama when he has declared war on coal. It doesn’t make any sense if you want to keep your job. The auto bailout was for the unions since their pension had finally gotten to the breaking point and why the American auto industry has trouble competing.4 Hostess went bankrupt because of union greed.5 We’ve seen numerous cities go bankrupt as their unions demanded more and more of the limited city budgets.6 How are these good for jobs?

The strange relationship between liberal democrats and the union movement is tied to their march towards socialism.7 Both want more government with greater rules and control. The only problem is that once the collective has total control, freedom is lost and becomes a moot point. We need a balance where reason is the centerpiece. Unions started out as a good thing, but have traveled down a dark path where greed and power have corrupted them and now they have forgotten who they are.8

I’ve been forced to join two unions in my life. First was at Kroger and later at the hospital union. Both were college jobs, but they taught me a great deal about unions. I attended a Union Steward class to learn more about the Union but found this to be a two day Republican bashing session. When it did come time to learn about filing a grievance it was a 5 minute “here is this form” and where to turn it in. There was nothing about what a legitimate grievance is, or how the union rules work. My experience was that the Union prevented the lazy workers from getting in trouble or fired and got the same amount of money from the part time people in dues to pay for political activities. The only benefit I see from the Union is padding the liberal’s pockets at the expense of workers.

If you are in a union you need to look carefully at where your dues are being spent and who they are supporting in elections. Unions present a pretty picture of how much they say membership can bring you, but is it a short term gain that in the long run will be a bankrupt mess? Do your homework and research out the facts. For those conservatives out there who register as Democrat because of their union, the facts will amaze you. Don’t be used as a sacrificial political pawn for the liberal socialist agenda. Your fellow conservatives are ready for you to come home.

Analysis: covert collection of phone records could be devastating for Barack Obama


The Obama administration will be bracing itself for a torrent of hostile questions this morning following the apparent revelation that the National Security Agency has been data-mining the phone records of tens of millions of ordinary Americans.

The difficulty for Mr Obama is that even if the NSA is actually doing nothing different than it did for George W Bush

Not to be confused with eavesdropping, or bugging the phones of those suspected of conspiring to commit a terrorist or criminal offence, the top secret court order published by The Guardianappears to show that the NSA has been trawling the anonymous ‘metadata’ of potentially billions of phone-calls.

On the one hand, American might take comfort that the ‘internals’ of their phone conversations – ie the voices themselves – are not being routinely recorded, but on the other, it seems from this leak that potentially everyone with a phone is under some form of surveillance in the USA.

Studies have shown that while anonymous, the ‘metadata’ – records of location data, call duration, unique identifiers – can provide a surprising amount of information, surprisingly quickly when zeroed in on by investigators.

For Mr Obama – a president who prided himself on his liberal credentials – this leak is a potentially devastating revelation since it exposes him to attack on two fronts – from both the libertarian Right and the liberal Left.

Already the administration has been hammered over its aggressive prosecution of leakers, including what appeared to be an attempt to criminalise a Fox News journalist, James Rosen, for working a source to obtain a leak from the State Department about North Korea.

That story caused the New York Times – usually a reliable friend of the Obama administration – to write a seething editorial accusing the Department of Justice of over-reaching, and using its powers to send a “chilling” message to the media.

It is not clear how wide the NSA data-mining project goes, it’s effectiveness as a counter-terrorism tool in identifying potential terrorist or criminal cells or – indeed – whether it has been used for any other purposes.

It appears from previous reports that the NSA’s data-mining operation is not new, and has long been suspected – but this is the first clear-cut proof, in the shape of a highly unusual leak from the secretive Foreign Intelligence Service Court (Fisa), that the practice is occurring.

A report in USA Today newspaper from 2006, quoting anonymous intelligence officials, alleged that the NSA been “secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans” and that the agency was using the data to “analyze calling patterns in an effort to detect terrorist activity”.

Since September 11 and the passing of the 2001 Patriot Act, the American public has accepted a great deal of inconvenience and intrusion in the name of national security. The publication of this court order will re-open the debate on how far the security services’ writ should run.

Politically, the difficulty for Mr Obama is that even if the NSA is actually doing nothing different than it did for George W Bush, the American public – particularly on the liberal left – had believed that Mr Obama’s administration represented a fundamental departure from the excesses of the Bush years.

Now, with the continued debate over the use of drones, the failure to close Guantanamo, the ultra-aggressive prosecution of leaks even to the point, perhaps, of muzzling a free press – the questions from the public and the media are starting to weigh down on the Obama White House.

Already last night, within hours of publication, civil liberties groups who have long warned about the extent of secret surveillance, were jumping on the revelations.

“This confirms what we had long suspected,” says Cindy Cohn, an attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a civil liberties organization that has accused the government of operating a secret dragnet surveillance program told the Washington Post.

“I don’t think Congress thought it was authorizing dragnet surveillance” when it passed the Patriot Act, Ms Cohn said, “I don’t think Americans think that’s OK. I would be shocked if the majority of Congressmen thought it’s okay.” Over the next few days and weeks, expect a fierce and polarizing debate over just what Americans do feel is acceptable, in the name of their national security.

UN Small Arms Treaty May Be Signed Under Cover Of Darkness

Instead of taking the opportunity to sign the United Nations Small Arms Treaty on Tuesday, the White House has indicated that Barack Obama will sign it sometime before the end of August. This causes some concern as to what type of event the White House is waiting on to exploit the emotions of Americans to gain support for the measure and put pressure on the Senate to ratify it. Many have suggested that the signature will come under cover of darkness, sometime in August, When Congress will not be in town.

Press Secretary Jay Carney said that Obama aims to sign the treaty “before the end of August.” Tuesday was the earliest he could have signed it.

“We believe it’s in the interest of the United States,” he said. “While we look forward to signing the treaty, there are remaining translation issues that need to be resolved.”

The Hill points out,

The National Rifle Association (NRA) opposes the treaty, and the delay would allow Obama to sign the pact during the August doldrums, with Congress out of town.

That time frame appears to validate the concerns of treaty advocates who had worried the administration would wait until the cover of darkness to sign a treaty opposed by a majority of senators.

Rachel Stohl, a senior associate with the Stimson Center, which supports the treaty, said “I think there’s a lot of political hand-wringing going on. They know people are going to be paying attention to this particular issue on this particular day.”

Secretary of State John Kerry released a statement on Monday in which he said the US “welcomes the opening of the Arms Trade Treaty for signature.” He also said that as soon as the process of conforming the official translations is completed satisfactorily, Obama would be looking forward to signing it.

So there needs to be conforming official translations and that, completed satisfactorily. Sounds similar to being ready to sign something that you have no idea what it really says. Obamacare, anyone? Seems like that is the case on an international scale where the treaty has already passed overwhelmingly.

Kerry went on to state:

“The Treaty is an important contribution to efforts to stem the illicit trade in conventional weapons, which fuels conflict, empowers violent extremists, and contributes to violations of human rights. The Treaty will require the parties to implement strict controls, of the kind the United States already has in place, on the international transfer of conventional arms to prevent their diversion and misuse and create greater international cooperation against black market arms merchants. The ATT will not undermine the legitimate international trade in conventional weapons, interfere with national sovereignty, or infringe on the rights of American citizens, including our Second Amendment rights.

We commend the Presidents of the two UN negotiating conferences – Roberto Garcia Moritan of Argentina and Peter Woolcott of Australia –for their leadership in bringing this agreement to fruition. We also congratulate all the states that helped achieve an effective, implementable Treaty that will reduce the risk that international transfers of conventional arms will be used to carry out the world’s worst crimes.”

The Secretary of State made no mention of his boss’ current administration providing thousands of weapons to some of the world’s worst criminals to carry out some of the world’s worst crimes which is still ongoing and has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Mexican citizens and at least two federal agents.

The Senate has already signed a resolution to not ratify the treaty thanks to the work of men like Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). Also, 130 members of Congress recently sent a letter to both Obama and Kerry opposing the treaty, writing “We strongly encourage your administration to recognize its textual, inherent and procedural flaws, to uphold our country’s constitutional protections of civilian firearms owners, and to defend the sovereignty of the United States, and thus to decide not to sign this treaty.”

The treaty, while be touted by liberals as something that stops guns from falling into the hands of terrorists, is deeply flawed, leaves open the possibility of changes or different interpretations that would only put a stranglehold on the United States. Furthermore, the treaty will have no effect upon governments, such as the Obama administration, that openly and knowingly provide weapons to drug cartels and negotiates support, along with RINOs in the Senate (not mentioning any names here, but at least one’s initials are John McCain (R-AZ)), with enemies of America to arm them.

Ultimately, no matter what we are told by the politicians, it is an attack upon freedom; a freedom we may just have to one day use to stop the growing tyranny.

One other thing to keep in mind. Iran is also one of the countries that the United Nations installed to help police the treaty. Noticeably missing from oversight on the treaty is the United States.

There is not a question of whether Barack Obama will sign the treaty, only when. Timing is key for him and he demonstrated that by putting his support behind the treaty once again within hours of his re-election.

Let’s keep getting the word out that not only should this treaty be opposed, but should be completely removed from the table of consideration so that it cannot be snuck through in a future Congress.

The First Amendment served us well for a time, but now it’s outdated.

Remember reading that England had arrested a guy for anti-Muslim Twitter postings in the aftermath of the Woolrich slaughter? And remember thinking, “Well, this is America, that can’t happen here”?
Oh yes it can. Obama’s Attorney for the Eastern district of Tennessee wants you to know that if you say something untoward about Muslims, the Federal government may imprison you.

Killian and Moore will provide input on how civil rights can be violated by those who post inflammatory documents targeted at Muslims on social media. “This is an educational effort with civil rights laws as they play into freedom of religion and exercising freedom of religion,” Killian told The News Monday. “This is also to inform the public what federal laws are in effect and what the consequences are.” … Killian said Internet postings that violate civil rights are subject to federal jurisdiction.

The posting he offers as a “for instance” is an egregious one. And yet this country has long protected, absolutely, egregious speech, such as hardcore pornography, for a simple reason: Either you are at liberty to say what you will or you are not. If you are constantly double-thinking every word you might say, for fear of being prosecuted, you are self-censoring, in anticipation of a possible prosecution by the government.

Rather than having a system in which people were constantly worried about imprisonment for speech, our country has evolved a simple bright-line code: Speech of all kinds, with a few exceptions that can be counted on three fingers, is absolutely protected.

Remember, the importance of this bright-line, no-exceptions rule of free speech was preached to us, even when some of us might not have liked it so much, as when hardcore pornography was afforded absolute protection under the First Amendment. In the case of hardcore pornography, it was argued — successfully — that having each artist weigh the possibility of an obscenity prosecution was too much of a burden on his free speech rights, and would have, unavoidably, a chilling effect on speech.

That was the rule then, and that was the rationale.

Remember when Ari Fleischer said that, without suggesting any kind of legal penalties? Remember how the media freaked out?

But now comes the US Attorney for the Eastern district of Tennessee explicitly telling you that you may be imprisoned if a political appointee decides your political speech has crossed a line.

Somehow, I don’t think Tim Robbins will be portentously howling us that a “chill wind” is blowing across our rights of free expression this week.

Teacher Faces Disciplinary Action For Telling His Students About Their Constitutional Rights

Oppression is a daily occurrence. We are oppressed by our public schools; we are oppressed by our “scientists,” and we are oppressed by our federal government. All major industries related to the federal government have cornered the market on oppression of the people. Public schools indoctrinate our children, universities force Socialist and Marxist ideals on their students, and “scientists” don’t allow anyone into their fields who would question the status quo. It is with oppression that power is at its strongest.

According to Town Hall:

“An Illinois Social Studies teacher faces disciplinary action for reminding his students of their Fifth Amendment rights when filling out a school survey on behavior…John Dryden was collecting the surveys before class when he noticed the students’ names were printed on them. He looked to see what was being asked and noticed questions about alcohol and drug use…Dryden told his students that they had a Constitutional right to not incriminate themselves by answering questions on the survey.”

As a result of Mr. Dryden informing his students about their basic Fifth Amendment rights, he is now facing disciplinary charges. Lucky for him, numerous people have risen to his defense.

With all the government scandals bringing fresh memories into our minds of past tyranny, it is an incident like this that makes my skin crawl. Tyranny doesn’t have a grand beginning; it never does. It starts with minor incidents; slowly collecting over time, and culminating in outright oppression. Tyranny takes time to accumulate strength; like a fighter in training. When it’s ready, it will knock us out with a single blow.

First, whether or not it is within the powers of the school to bring the hammer down with disciplinary action, it is entirely absurd. Dryden did absolutely nothing wrong when he merely informed his students of their Fifth Amendment right to decline self-incrimination if they had anything they didn’t want made public.

Second, I’m not sure whether it is within the bounds of the school’s power to ask these types of questions in the first place. Without anonymous surveys being offered, any information provided in ink would be directly linked to the student who filled out the survey. This behavior is unseemly at best and dangerously invasive at worst.

With Dryden facing disciplinary action, I can only shiver at the thought of what else public schools could do with the power they believe they have. Tyranny starts in small places.

 Jason Howerton reported that it remains unclear why “federal officials felt the Tea Party presence required more than the attention of local law enforcement.”

Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit said that armed DHS guards greeted Tea Party activists in St. Louis.

“Around 300 protesters turned out anyway,” he wrote.

According to an account posted by Hoft, DHS used a helicopter against Tea Party protesters in Los Angeles and told the group they were not allowed on federal property.

“Many of our 300 tea party folks were approached immediately by Homeland Security and told they coIRS protest St. Louis County -- May 21, 2013uld not be on federal property. My lawyer told me as long as I didn’t block passage we were OK. Many Homeland Security trucks and a helicopter above us scared many patriots so most of group went to public side walk to rally,” an unnamed Tea Party activist told Hoft.

A report at BizPac Review said the DHS also made an appearance at a Tea Party protest in Florida.

“Under the watchful eye of Homeland Security — yes, they were present — protestors carried signs that read ‘We Do Not Consent to Tyranny,’ ‘Abolish the IRS’ and ‘Don’t Target me Bro!,’ making it clear they do not condone the use of the IRS as a political weapon,” Tom Tillison wrote.

A protest in Fort Wayne, Ind., actually had more police than Tea Party. Howerton said that a lone woman “was reportedly accompanied by three visible security guards in the IRS parking lot, which included a Homeland Security officer.”

“The DHS appears to have finally found a use for all those bullets it’s been buying,” Paul Joseph Watson wrote at Prison Planet, echoing a sentiment at Fire Andrea Mitchell.

“Amazing how Obama can send out his stormtroopers for peaceful IRS protests by the tea party, yet couldn’t bother with the ‘bumps in the road’ in Benghazi,” Fire Andrea Mitchell said.

According to reports, the Tea Party protests concluded without incident.

A few weeks ago, President Obama advised graduates at Ohio State University that they need not listen to voices warning about tyranny around the corner, because we have self-government in America. He argued that self-government is in and of itself an adequate safeguard against tyranny, because voters can be counted upon to elect democrats (lowercase “d”) not tyrants. His argument defies logic and 20th-century history. It reveals an ignorance of the tyranny of the majority, which believes it can write any law, regulate any behavior, alter any procedure and tax any event so long as it can get away with it.

FoxHistory has shown that the majority will not permit any higher law or logic or value — like fidelity to the natural law, a belief in the primacy of the individual or an acceptance of the supremacy of the Constitution — that prevents it from doing as it wishes.

Under Obama’s watch, the majority has, by active vote or refusal to interfere, killed hundreds of innocents — including three Americans — by drone, permitted federal agents to write their own search warrants, bombed Libya into tribal lawlessness without a declaration of war so that a mob there killed our ambassador with impunity, attempted to force the Roman Catholic Church to purchase insurance policies that cover artificial birth control, euthanasia and abortion, ordered your doctor to ask you whether you own guns, used the IRS to intimidate outspoken conservatives, seized the telephone records of newspaper reporters without lawful authority and in violation of court rules, and obtained a search warrant against one of my Fox colleagues by misrepresenting his true status to a federal judge.

JFoxames Rosen, my colleague and friend, is a professional journalist. He covers the State Department for Fox News. In order to do his job, he has cultivated sources in the State Department — folks willing to speak from time to time off the record.

One of Rosen’s sources apparently was a former employee of a federal contractor who was on detail to the State Department, Stephen Jin-Woo Kim. Kim is an expert in arms control and national defense whose lawyers have stated that his job was to explain byzantine government behavior so we all can understand it. When he was indicted for communicating top secret and sensitive information, presumably to Rosen, his lawyers replied by stating that the information he discussed was already in the public domain, and thus it wasn’t secret.

Prior to securing Kim’s indictment, the Department of Justice obtained a search warrant for Google’s records of Rosen’s personal emails by telling a federal judge that Rosen had committed the crime of conspiracy by undue flattery of Kim and appealing to Kim’s vanity until Kim told Rosen what he wanted to hear. In a word, that is rubbish. And the FBI agent who claimed that asking a source for information and the federal judge who found that the flattering questions alone constituted criminal behavior were gravely in error.

Reporters are protected in their craft by the First Amendment, and the Supreme Court has ruled that they can ask whatever questions they wish without fear of prosecution. If Kim revealed classified information to Rosen — a charge Kim vigorously denies — that is Kim’s crime, not Rosen’s. The Supreme Court ruled in the Pentagon Papers case that it is not a crime for a journalist to seek secrets, to receive them, to possess them and to publish them so long as they affect a matter of material public interest.

The government’s behavior here is very troubling. Government lawyers and FBI agents are charged with knowing the law. They must have known that Rosen committed no crime, and they no doubt never intended to charge him, and they never have. They materially misled the judge, who saw the phrase “probable cause” of criminal activity (taken from the Fourth Amendment) in their affidavit in support of the search warrant they sought, and he signed. The judge should have seen this for the ruse it was. It is inconceivable that a person could conspire to commit a crime (release of classified information) that is impossible for that person to commit, particularly with a Supreme Court case directly on point.

This misuse of the search warrant mechanism by misrepresentation of the status of the target continues the radicalization of federal criminal procedure now typical of this Department of Justice. It has claimed that it can release military weapons to foreign criminal gangs just to see where the weapons end up, and that its agents cannot be prosecuted for harm caused by those who received the weapons. It has held that the serious consideration given in the White House by high-ranking government officials to the identity of persons the president wants to kill somehow is a constitutional substitute for due process and thus enables the president to use drones to kill people uncharged with federal crimes. It has extended the public safety exception to the Miranda rule from the few seconds at the scene of the crime spent securing the prisoner, where the Supreme Court has said it resides, to more than 72 hours.

And now this.

The reason we have the due process safeguards imposed upon the government by the Constitution is to keep tyranny from lurking anywhere here, much less around the corner. Due process is the intentionally created obstacle to government procedural shortcuts, which, if disregarded, will invite tyranny to knock at the front door and sneak in through the back. Justice Felix Frankfurter warned of this 70 years ago when he wrote, “The history of liberty has largely been the history of the observance of procedural safeguards.” That was true then, and it is true now.

As the White House has been slammed with scandals such as Benghazi, Extortion 17, the AP phone tapping scandal, targeting FOX News, and the IRS targeting conservative groups, Obama appeared before the nation at a press conference. In the middle of answering a question about the IRS scandal, it began to rain. Obama had the “audacity” to call up two marines to hold an umbrella for himself and the Turkish Prime Minister, stating, “Why don’t we get a couple of Marines [to hold umbrellas.] They’re gonna look good next to us.”

What a stark contrast to our first president, General George Washington!

It was said that Washington was hailed as “first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen.”

During the Revolutionary War, George Washington didn’t send someone else to go in his stead… and he certainly would not have asked anyone to hold an umbrella for him. He took responsibility and went himself to lead the call for independence on the behalf of the country and the people he loved. During this time, he had little-to-no money to fight the war, but he fought on with what he had and beat back the tyrant King George.

George Washington was also known as the man who could not die in battle, as he was shot at several times with bullet holes in his jacket, yet he survived unscathed. He told his family, “By the all-powerful dispensations of providence, I have been protected beyond all human probability or expectation.”

Like King David, God protected Washington from his enemies.

In the past half-century, as we have seen the corrupt in government slowly usurp their authority and declare war on the American people, the “protection” of the president has risen to ridiculous measures.

A Congressional Research Service report investigated how much taxpayers spend whenever the president leaves the White House by plane. The report found that it costs $179,750 to fly Air Force One for just one hour! That expense is only for fuel, maintenance, and sundries; it does not include all of the staff and security personnel that accompany every move the president makes.

Making the clear distinction between then and now, George Washington bears the cross, while this president wears the crown.

Anyone who travels to Washington, D.C., will know what I am talking about. When the president’s motorcade goes through town, every road is blocked off by armed officers, and any building the president enters is searched over with a fine-toothed comb.

The Secret Service was originally created in 1865 to suppress counterfeit currency. It had nothing to do with the president’s safety until 1907, when Congress passed the Sundry Civil Expenses Act, which now meant that two men would be in full-time charge of the president’s safety. The Secret Service now has 3,200 employees, and whenever the president leaves the White House, the Secret Service calls on other federal, state, and local agencies to heighten security measures.

Until Harry Truman’s presidency, former presidents were dropped off at their homes and were provided no special pension, security, or other benefits. They would become an average American citizen, just like those they served.

When president, Truman would take daily walks around Washington, D.C., with a bodyguard or two in tow. American citizens could walk right up and shake his hand.

What has happened since then? When presidents work for the people, they feel safe enough to walk up and be friendly with their constituents. However, when they work for special interests and are being treated as crowned kings (which they are not), they suddenly feel that they need to be protected from their constituents. Is the writing on the wall? Yes, indeed it is.

Look at the parallel between Washington and the current administrations:

  • In 1789 the federal government under President Washington had 350 federal civilian employees; today they number in the millions!
  • In 1832 the total federal budget was $11 million; in 2011 it was over $4 trillion!
  • Since 1900 the total number of government laws and regulations the average citizen is required to obey has increased an estimated 3,000 percent.

James Madison stated that “… every word of (the Constitution) decides a question between power and liberty.” As the government increases control, this leads to a corresponding decrease of individual liberty and responsibility.

The real problem is when all this power becomes centralized and is left unchecked by the public, then comes the rationale that “they have the badge, they must be right.” Thomas Jefferson, who went through the era of the Revolutionary War, warned,

“The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first.”

It has been said that laws are most numerous when the commonwealth is most corrupt. This video illustrates present-day criminals with badges. You may be shocked at who they are.

But the IRS’s actions crossed a line from merely corrupt into sinister when it grilled an Iowa pro-life group about its religious views. During a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Friday, Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., asked outgoing IRS commissioner Steven Miller about it.

“Their question,” Schock said, “specifically asked from the IRS to the Coalition for Life of Iowa: ‘Please detail the content of the members of your organization’s prayers.’ Would that be an inappropriate question to a 501 c3 applicant? The content of one’s prayers?’

Miller tried to avoid answering the question, claiming to have no knowledge of the case, but finally said it would “surprise me” if such a question was asked.

The Thomas More Society presented the Ways and Means Committee with evidence in three cases involving its clients being harassed by the IRS. The information indicates that at least two other pro-life organizations were targeted and that the actions extended beyond the IRS’s Cincinnati office, which has been at the center of many of the past week’s revelations, and began before 2010, the date that has come up frequently in other cases of IRS harassment.

According to TMS, in 2011, the El Monte, California, office of the IRS began harassing Christian Voices for Life of Fort Bend County, Texas. In a statement, TMS wrote: “In a series of questions penned by Exempt Organization Specialist Tyrone Thomas from the California office, the IRS asked a series of unwarranted questions ordering Christian Voices for Life without any foundation, to explain its content, message, and prayers as if they were engaging in highly offensive or criminal behavior.”

The Coalition for Life found itself under IRS scrutiny when it applied for nonprofit status in October 2008, during the closing months of the Bush Administration. Nearly a year of interrogation included an illegal demand from the IRS’s Cincinnati office that coalition board members sign a pledge not to picket Planned Parenthood. Other demands of the group included information about the “content of the group’s prayer meetings, educational seminars, and signs their members hold outside Planned Parenthood.”

Daniel and Angela Michael of Small Victories, a pro-life organization, were singled out by an IRS agent in Chicago who called them every two to three weeks with demands for a year.

During the testimony and numerous stories that have come out this week, it was also revealed that the IRS has been targeting conservative Jewish groups for similar treatment, especially pressuring them about support for Israel, while groups perceived as supporting liberal causes and the Administration have sailed through the IRS review process.

The Thomas More Society also represents clients who are suing the Department of Health and Human Services over the Obama Administration’s demand that religious groups provide health insurance to employees that funds contraception and abortions in violation of religious conscience.

Almost since Day One of the Obama Administration, the Department of Homeland Security has issued reports warning of the dangers posed by conservative groups and military veterans, conflating Christians and Orthodox Jews with Left-wing-inspired groups such as the KKK and neo-Nazis.

More recently, the Air Force and Pentagon have moved toward a policy of cracking down on Christians who evangelize by sharing their faith with other enlisted personnel. The planned policy change has raised alarm among conservative groups because it seems to be driven by the zealously anti-Christian Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

Taken altogether, and viewed against President Obama’s self-professed preference for Muslims, the Administration’s targeting of Christians and Jews is chilling. Still the Administration pretends as if nothing unusual has gone on.

These are the roots of tyranny, which we are watching grow deeper before our very eyes.

The problems with the IRS extend beyond playing politics with conservative groups seeking a tax-exempt status. I have never made this public before, but given the heightened interest in the way the IRS has conducted itself, the time has come to disclose what happened.
Just weeks after Barack Obama was elected president in 2008, I was notified by the IRS that the Catholic League was under investigation for violating the IRS Code on political activities as it relates to 501(c)(3) organizations. What the IRS did not know was that I had proof who contacted them to launch the investigation: Catholics United, a George Soros-funded Catholic organization.

The IRS was contacted on June 5, 2008, to launch a probe of the Catholic League, and the letter sent to me was dated Nov. 24, 2008. The June 5 letter was sent to the IRS by lawyers from Catholics United; it was mailed to Director Marsha Ramirez, director of Exempt Organizations Examinations, and to Lois G. Lerner, director of EO Division.

The “evidence” against me was nothing more than news releases and articles I had written during the presidential campaign on various issues. The lawyers also asked the IRS to question the source of new funding we had received, implying that we received illegal contributions.
The timing is not coincidental. On Oct. 20, I issued a news release, “George Soros Funds Catholic Left,” and on Oct. 23, I wrote another one, “Catholic Left Scandal Mounts”; both mentioned Catholics United. The same day, Oct. 23, I was asked to go on CNN, and when Catholics United found out, they contacted the station trying to spike the interview.
The person who did this was the head of Catholics United, Chris Korzen. He said I was not “an authentic Catholic commentator and representative of the Catholic Church,” and that they should either drop me altogether or put me on with Alexia Kelley of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (Catholics United is listed on the 990 of Catholics in Alliance as a related organization; Soros greases this group, and by extension, Catholics United).
The bid to keep me off TV failed. But here’s the key: Korzen was dumb enough to share with CNN the complaint issued by his group to the IRS. The document, which was leaked to me by someone at CNN, matches up extraordinarily well with the IRS complaint of Nov. 24.
In the end, the IRS concluded that although the Catholic League had “intervened in a political campaign,” it was “unintentional, isolated, non-egregious and non-recurring”; our tax-exempt status remained intact. This is false: I intentionally addressed political issues, and did not intervene in the campaign, unless, of course, my freedom to speak about political issues is a violation of the IRS Code. If that is the case, then this IRS unit should fold.
So the problem extends beyond the IRS. It extends to left-wing activists, funded by left-wing tycoons, all for the purpose of silencing conservatives. It’s time someone was held accountable for this obscene political game.

IRS-Target-590-LICleta Mitchell, one of Washington’s most respected elections attorneys, told Newsmax she has tangible proof that high-ranking IRS officials in Washington were fully aware of the agency’s campaign to target conservative groups for heightened scrutiny, despite their denials.

And she thinks the president knew about the practice, too. If proven, she said, it could be an impeachable offense.

Mitchell, in an interview with Newsmax TV on Tuesday, said she was told by a Cincinnati IRS agent that applications by two of her conservative clients were being processed by — and would ultimately be approved or denied in — Washington.

She said she also is aware of nearly 100 other conservative groups that were being targeted by Washington.

“There were nearly 100 groups across the country that got the very egregious set of letters from the IRS that were almost identical and they came from offices all over the country so I know of at least 85 to 90, maybe more, organizations,” said Mitchell, who represents six groups which say they have been targeted, including the King Street Patriots and True the Vote.

“If they had the name ‘tea party’ or they had the word ‘patriots’ or if their mission was smaller government or study the Constitution, believe it or not, that would cause the IRS to say, ‘Oh, we better investigate these groups.'”

She added she had two clients whose group’s purpose was to lobby against Obamacare, both of which received extra IRS scrutiny. And of the clients who have gone public with their claims, they received “incredible scrutiny, voluminous requests for information, documents, almost like having been audited before they even are an exempt organization.”

In the case of one such client, she and her family subsequently became targets for audits to their personal and business tax returns, and were even visited by three different government agencies. She also knows of other groups who had surprise visits from the FBI after they applied for IRS status.

Mitchell said she doesn’t believe the president or the White House was uninvolved in the IRS activities, as the administration has claimed.

“I’ve thought for some time that this is politically motivated and that’s the reason it was happening. And, as I said, I’ve been doing this for more than 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like this until 2009, 2010. And the only thing that changed was we had a different administration,” she said.

“We know the White House used the Department of Health and Human Services to try to silence critics about Obamacare. So if we know they used HHS, why wouldn’t they also use the IRS or other federal agencies to try to silence political critics?”

Mitchell credits Congress for investigating the matter but says they have had limited effectiveness because she believes the IRS has lied even to lawmakers during hearings last year.

“They’ve been very helpful but the fact is, the IRS has lied and covered up, even to the members of Congress,” she said. “The problem is they’ve had hearings — the IRS commissioner basically lied to Congress last year when he appeared before Congress and they asked him about this targeting conservative groups and he said it wasn’t true. Well, no, we find out yes, it was true.”

She added, “They may try to say it was low-level people. It was not low-level people. They weren’t in Cincinnati. It was being directed out of Washington, and I have them on record saying that.”

Mitchell said the IRS practices are in violation of federal law.

She said it’s “a criminal offense to misuse information submitted by a taxpayer or an entity, anybody who submits anything to the IRS. The IRS agents are limited in what they can do with it, the scope of what they can say and do with it. So, clearly, the federal law has been broken.”

Asked whether it would be an impeachable offense if it emerged that the president or his officials were behind the IRS’ practices, Mitchell said, “Well, it certainly was for Richard Nixon 40 years ago this week.”

She added, “Isn’t that ironic? The House of Representatives passed articles of impeachment against President Richard Nixon 40 years ago this week on May 18, and one of those was misuse of the IRS to go after political enemies.”

Sometimes when it rains on second-term presidents, they need more than an umbrella.

President Obama tried Monday to dismiss as “political games” persistent questions about how the White House handled last year’s attacks in Benghazi, Libya, while at the same time a new uproar about IRS scrutiny of conservative advocacy organizations ignited on Capitol Hill. Obama said if IRS agents willfully exercised political bias, responsible personnel must be “held accountable.”

As he was speaking during a brief news conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron, the reactions of House and Senate lawmakers suggested Obama did little to tamp down the Benghazi controversies, which have persisted since extremists killed four Americans there in September. Nor did he temper the bipartisan outrage following Friday’s news of an IRS inspector general draft report citing the agency’s mishandling of conservative groups that applied for tax-exempt status, dating back to March 2010.

By the afternoon, the Justice Department was also in the hot seat after the Associated Press reported that, during April and May, the government secretly obtained phone and fax records connected to AP reporters and editors — part of an apparent hunt for government leaks. The phone data involved at least 20 personal, work and fax lines, including a phone in the Capitol that is used by multiple AP reporters, the news organization reported.

The AP protested the data-gathering in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder, who was already scheduled to testify Wednesday before the House Judiciary Committee.

Republicans, sensing stormy weather for Obama, leaped to defend the First Amendment, and to condemn the administration.

The Left to American Christians: Shut the Hell Up!

A couple of months ago I was conducting an Option 3 Drill of the Modern Army Combatives Program.  In this drill, you must utilize the techniques we have taught the soldier, and he/she must respond by being aggressive, close the gap (or come in closer contact with the opponent) and achieve the clinch (one of the 3 techniques taught) while the instructors and assistant instructors are punching the soldier. During this exercise one day, a soldier was hit in the face because she was not guarding it as she was trained to do.  She backed up a couple of steps and said “d%*n s^*t just got real”.  Recently, I felt that way when the report that the Pentagon was considering punishing soldiers for proselytizing (Sharing your faith in Christ) at work (here).

When we look at the timetable of policies, opinions, and regulations of this administration, a person can’t help but to wonder if they do anything else but hate Christianity with their anti-Christian agenda.  A few weeks ago the DOD released a power point slide adding Evangelical Christians (here) to the Extremist watch list.

As Christians it is a wake up call to the reality that it can happen here in America.  No, scratch that — it is a wake up call that it is happening here!  Everything that is happening right now is a warning sign that our religious freedom is being stripped away.

A prime example of this is the Sports Commentator who is in jeopardy of being fired over his comments about Jason Collins becoming the first openly gay Pro-Athlete.  He simply said, as a Christian, the Bible condemns homosexual activity (here).

As a side story to that — what is amazing is that President Obama called Jason Collins courageous for his coming out, but Mr. Obama couldn’t make a call to rescue the people under siege in Benghazi?  Our government and culture want you to just shut the hell up.  Shut up about Jesus, shut up about gay marriage, shut up about abortion, shut up about corruption, shut up about Obama and shut up about his regime.  JUST SHUT THE HELL UP!

We Can’t Afford to Ignore the Tyranny that Exists

Last weekend, the President warned Ohio State graduates to ignore those voices that are constantly warning of tyranny. Of course, as many have pointed out since then, that would mean (among other things) not reading any history books on the founding of America, which would reveal the fact that our nation’s Founders were even more leery of government over-reach than the vast majority of modern patriots.

Not long ago, a friend recommended a book of mine on his Facebook page, only to have one of his other friends, a pastor, message him privately to warn him against that book. Of course, the helpful pastor was warning him about a book he himself had not bothered to read, based solely on the title.  It’s called Resistance to Tyrants: Romans 13 and the Christian Duty to Oppose Wicked Rulers.

 The bottom line of the pastor’s warning was this [paraphrased here]: I’ve looked up several definitions of tyranny, and we’re a long way from experiencing that. 

Which immediately set me to looking up the dictionary definition, in several versions. I won’t quote them all here. But the one below is very representative of what you’ll find elsewhere:

TYRANNY (noun):

  • arbitrary or unrestrained exercise of power; despotic abuse of authority. Synonyms: despotism,absolutism, dictatorship.
  •  the government or rule of a tyrant or absolute ruler.
  •  a state ruled by a tyrant or absolute ruler.
  •  oppressive or unjustly severe government on the part of any ruler.
  •  undue severity or harshness.

In addition, some dictionaries will point out that the ancient Greeks especially employed the word to speak of any usurper, or one who had attained power unlawfully.

The “money” adjectives above, the ones that really describe a tyrant, are thus “arbitrary,” “oppressive,” “unjust,” “severe,” etc.

The unnamed pastor above apparently has not been paying attention.

For instance, as the new Benghazi hearings continue, it’s now plain as day that the administration’s story about the attack being caused by reaction to a YouTube video was a complete fabrication. The President and all his minions knew without a doubt from the beginning that this was not the real reason. And yet, to this day, the only person “brought to justice” over Benghazi is the man who made the video. He still sits in prison, as of this writing.

Today, we read that the IRS is admitting that it targeted the President’s political opponents for extra-special treatment during the last campaign.

 Anybody take a plane trip lately? How do you spell oppression? T – S – A.

Do a search for terms like “domestic drone surveillance,” “Utah Data Center,” and “Presidential Kill List,” and then come argue that we’re “a long way from experiencing” injustice, severity, and oppression.

Even if we explore the minority definition of tyranny, the Greek one about usurpation, we would have to admit that it’s been a long, long time since the federal government was anything but a tyranny, having usurped (or stolen) authority that they were never lawfully authorized by the Constitution. Who gave the feds the authority to regulate education, for instance? Answer: no one. They took that for themselves.

One of the writers of the Anti-Federalist Papers presciently predicted that the “commerce clause” of the Constitution would be used as an excuse to claim near-unlimited power. Oh, but wait, we’re supposed to ignore the voices warning of tyranny.

To complete the story I began with, the pastor in question went on to admit that he’d never really studied the passage of the Bible that was in question. He doesn’t think he needs to. All he’s ever done is repeat what he’s been told by others. Trace that back, and you’ll find all of them did the exact same thing.

This is how Christianity is turned into the spiritual equivalent of an anorexic teenager. Her pastors refuse to really set good food on the dinner table, and the ones invited to eat don’t complain.

You can be part of fixing that. Start complaining. Why hasn’t your own pastor warned from the pulpit of the encroachment and threat of government tyranny?

Romans 13: 1 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. “The Message” Version Romans 13

Rom 13: 1 Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. 2 If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. 3 Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you’re trying to get by with something. Decent citizens should have nothing to fear.

Do you want to be on good terms with the government? Be a responsible citizen and you’ll get on just fine, 4 the government working to your advantage. But if you’re breaking the rules right and left, watch out. The police aren’t there just to be admired in their uniforms. God also has an interest in keeping order, and he uses them to do it. 5 That’s why you must live responsibly — not just to avoid punishment but also because it’s the right way to live.

6 That’s also why you pay taxes — so that an orderly way of life can be maintained. 7 Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Pay your taxes, pay your bills, respect your leaders.

Why is This Important? Read on for the answer


Ariel Castro, Cleveland Kidnapper, Is a Registered Democrat

Screen Shot 2013-05-09 at 3.34.55 PMAccording to voter registration records, Ariel Castro, the Cleveland kidnapper, is a registered Democrat.  He was also the alleged leader among the three Castro brothers, who were arrested this week, and the owner of the house at 2207 Seymour Ave., where the three abducted local women had been kept in captivity for over a decade.

Why is this important?  Whenever a crime or a scandal captures national attention, the pattern in the mainstream media is to either identify the culprit as a Republican or hold silence — in which case we can rest assured that the culprit is a Democrat.

When the identity or the party affiliation is yet unknown, the pattern is to speculate publicly about the possibility of the criminal being a conservative, Christian, white, Republican, and a Tea Party member — and never that he could be a Hispanic Democrat voter playing bass in a meringue band.

In today’s divisive climate, the identity of a perpetrator is always a political issue, especially when a crime is committed by men against women.  According to the Daily News, “What the neighbors saw was terrifying and dehumanizing: Naked women on dog leashes, crawling in the dirt. A lady clutching an infant and pounding on a window for help.”

If any of the brothers were a Republican, this news would have been trumpeted by the mainstream media as tangible proof of the Republican War on Women — a narrative invented by Democrat strategists and maintained by the media in a successful effort to defeat Republican candidates in the 2012 election cycle.
