Judge Rules Bakeshop Owner Doesn’t Have To Bake Wedding Cake For Gay Couple

A California judge ruled Monday the state couldn’t force a cake shop owner to bake a cake for a gay couple’s wedding, ruling that doing so would constitute a violation of free speech.

Superior Court Judge David Lampe denied the State of California’s request for a preliminary injunction that sought to force bakeshop owner Cathy Miller to design a wedding cake for a gay couple.

“For this court to force such compliance would do violence to the essentials of Free Speech guaranteed under the First Amendment,” Lampe ruled, according to a press release sent to The Daily Caller News Foundation. The injunction also posited that if Miller refused to design the cake, the state would force her to close her Tastries Bakery shop altogether.

“We are pleased that the judge recognized that the First Amendment protects Cathy’s freedom of speech,” chief counsel and Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund (FCDF) president, Charles LiMandri, said after the ruling, the press release reports. LiMandri argued in Friday’s court hearing that Miller doesn’t discriminate against same-sex couples, but refuses to use her artistic talents to express a message that conflicts with her religious beliefs about marriage. 

The ruling comes after two women asked Miller to design their wedding cake and filed a complaint with the state, alleging that Miller discriminated against them on the basis of sexual orientation. They also posted about the event on social media. Following their complaint, the state launched an investigation and sought a court order to force Miller to bake their wedding cake.

“This is a significant victory for faith and freedom because the judge indicated in his ruling that the State cannot succeed in this case as a matter of law,” LiMandri said. “No doubt the California officials will continue their persecution of Cathy, but it is clear that she has the Constitution on her side.”

The cake baking incident comes after the Supreme Court announced in June that it would hear a similar case that occurred in 2012, when a baker in Denver refused to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple. Lower courts had previously ruled that Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop had violated the state’s accommodation laws by refusing to serve a customer based on sexual orientation, according to The Washington Post.

REPORT: Dem Memo Peppered With ‘Sources And Methods’ That Need To Be Redacted

Democratic lawmakers’ rebuttal memo to their Republican counterparts includes references to “sources and methods” that need to be redacted, Fox News reports.

Lawmakers of the House intelligence committee voted to declassify the Democratic memo late Monday, giving President Donald Trump five days to conduct a national security review of the document. This national security review will include a review of sources and methods which officials say must be withheld from the public for intelligence concerns.

The memo was compiled in response to its Republican counterpart who released a memo that alleges broad abuse of FISA authority by top officials in the Department of Justice and the FBI. Democratic lawmaker Adam Schiff, who played a key role in compiling the document, said he fears “political redactions” from the White House during the intelligence review. 

Fox News, however, reports that information was specifically put into the document in order to force the White House’s hand and play into a narrative of obfuscation.

The Republican memo — compiled by House Intel chairman Devin Nunes and other Republicans on the committee — found that the FBI and the Department of Justice did not disclose the political origins of the Steele dossier in its FISA application on Trump campaign associate Carter Page and revealed previously undisclosed testimony from former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe that an investigation into Page would not have occurred without the dossier.

Democrats complained that releasing the Republican memo would damage national security by revealing FBI sources and methods, though it did no such thing.

Nunes Says Obama State Dept. Passed Trump Dirt ‘to Very Strange Places’

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said Tuesday on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” that former President Barack Obama’s State Department “was gathering information” on Donald Trump, his campaign and Russia in 2016 before “passing it to very strange places.”

Nunes — who is chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence — told host Laura Ingraham the committee’s investigation of allegations of Trump-Russia collusion includes three phases.

  • The first is the panel’s probe of surveillance abuse against Trump campaign volunteers by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI.
  • The second phase is a review of “irregularities” at the State Department,
  • and the third will be interviewing “the cast of characters.”

Phase one culminated with the release of a four-page summary memo, prepared by Nunes’ staff, describing the surveillance abuses. Those abuses were enabled by a dossier prepared by former British spy Christopher Steele and paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign committee.

Nunes said the second phase is now moving forward.

“I can just tell you that the State Department was gathering information and then passing it to very strange places. That should not have happened,” Nunes told Ingraham, noting he could not divulge more information at that time.

“I will just say that there were comments over the weekend from people within the State Department that said [former Secretary of State] John Kerry had been briefed on the [Trump-Russia] dossier, that they had provided the new dossier, whatever this new dossier is, and they had provided it also to the FBI,” Nunes said.

“So, by people starting to talk about it, it seems to me like some people may be trying to distance themselves from the rest of the cast of characters involved,” he added. 

Nunes’ comments came after Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) released a highly redacted copy of the criminal referral they sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommending the potential prosecution of Steele. Wray made public a less-redacted version of the referral late Tuesday.

“It is a vindication of what we’ve been dealing with for the last five days, where we have been scolded that the dossier really played no part at all in the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA] application. So clearly that’s not the case,” Nunes said of the referral.

Grassley and Graham’s referral revealed that Clinton campaign aides and former Obama appointees fed material to Steele as he compiled the dossier. The anti-Trump dossier was used by the FBI and DOJ to obtain warrants from the FISA court allowing the government to spy on Trump associates.

“Sadly, the mainstream media continues to ignore this. Even tonight I was looking. No one’s covering this,” Nunes said of Grassley and Graham’s referral, noting that “it’s pretty clear now you have the Clinton campaign, who was getting information from the Russians, dirt on Trump.”

Former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Joseph diGenova also told Ingraham Tuesday that the Grassley-Graham memo “establishes beyond any doubt that the FBI knowingly deceived the FISA court about the information that it was presenting to them.”

DiGenova accused the FBI and DOJ of lying to the FISA court “about the fact that it was verified information — which it was not, which the law requires.”

“And now we know that additional Clinton allies, including Sidney Blumenthal, were involved in the transmission of false information, unverified information, to the FBI through State Department officials,” diGenova said. “Somebody’s gonna have to go to prison.”

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) implied Tuesday on Fox News’ “The Story” that Blumenthal fed a former State Department employee information used for Steele’s unverified Trump-Russia dossier.

If Clinton lost the election, then the FBI and DOJ sought “to frame Donald Trump and his associates with a false crime,” diGenova claimed.

“There is now no doubt whatsoever that the lawyers at the FBI and the lawyers at the Justice Department deceived, deceived FISA court knowingly,” diGenova said. “They had every reason in the world to believe that the information being provided was not only biased but completely unreliable. They didn’t care.“

The FBI and DOJ “wanted the wiretaps, the intercepts and the electronic surveillance” because it was part of their “plan” to “exonerate” Clinton during the course of the investigation into her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state, diGenova said. If Clinton lost the election, then the FBI and DOJ sought “to frame Donald Trump and his associates with a false crime,” diGenova claimed.

“And they almost succeeded,” diGenova said. “And if she had won, they would have succeeded.”

An important player in multiple high-level investigations which have dominated national headlines is about to go from being relatively unknown to becoming a household name – his name is Michael Horowitz.

Horowitz is the inspector general at the Department of Justice and is heavily involved in the Russia investigation and the investigation into how the FBI handled the criminal investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – a report expected to come out in the next couple months.

The Hill reports:

A political appointee in both the Bush and Obama administrations, Horowitz’s yearlong investigation already reportedly contributed to the early resignation of Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe. And his work has been felt in other ways.

Horowitz also uncovered a series of text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page that led special counsel Robert Mueller to remove Strzok from his team. Those texts have fueled accusations among GOP lawmakers that Mueller’s probe is tainted by partisanship.

Those who know Horowitz portray him as an independent voice.

Bill Hamel, former inspector general for investigations at the Department of Education, heaped praise on Horowitz for his character.

“He is really one of the smartest and fairest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with,” Hamel said. “He’s a straight shooter and a fair guy. He’s an honest broker.”

“They have to be independent to do that job,” Hamel continued. “They can’t be swayed by political issues.”

Video Shows Drone Capable of Dive-Bombing a Passenger Jet

A horrifying video that emerged online shows a drone hovering within only feet of an airplane reportedly landing at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. Shot by an unknown drone pilot, the video specifically depicts “the drone taking off from what looks to be the parking lot at Whitney Ranch near 95 and Russell, then flying dangerously close to a Frontier passenger plane heading to land at McCarran Airport,” according to local station KTNV.

Not only is this a potential violation of the Federal Aviation Administration’s rules for drones, which limit drones to a maximum height of 400 feet, but it’s also a possible sign of what’s to come in regard to the future of radical Islamic terrorism. But we’ll get to that a bit later.

First, watch the video below:

Dovetailing back to the FAA, local station KLAS noted that “a drone pilot who flies unsafely could face fines from of up to $1,437 per violation, while businesses that fly unsafely can face fines of up to $32,666 per violation.”

“On top of that, people who fly drones unsafely can face federal criminal penalties including fines of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment for up to three year,” the station added.

Why all the hubbub? Because of the catastrophic consequences the pilot’s birdbrained actions could have conceivably triggered.

“You know, if he was to hit the plane or there were any transmission signals that could interfere with that plane, he could honestly jam something in the plane, anything could happen,” explained drone expert Steven Williams of Alpha Drone in a statement to KTNV.

If the FAA manages to track down the drone’s pilot, I therefore recommend hitting him or her with as large of a fine as possible.

In the meantime, both the FAA and the Department of Homeland Security need to determine a way to prevent this from ever happening again, and a report published in Fast Forward magazine last year offers a clue why:

“The possibility of terrorists using drones to drop explosives or even unleash biological attacks on U.S. soil is a growing threat, Nicholas Rasmussen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, told a Senate panel Wednesday.”

But as is now obvious from the horrifying drone footage above, the threat isn’t just of “terrorists using drones to drop explosives” on land; it’s also of terrorists using drones to drop explosives (or whatever else) on airplanes.

Can you imagine the terror that could be caused by this?

Let’s be clear: This is a big, big problem, and one that the administration of President Donald Trump needs to resolve sooner rather than later.

Knowing Trump, though, I’m sure the administration will indeed resolve it.

Dems Lose It as Tweet Suggests Trump Ordered Military Vet Deported… Fail to Realize It Was Actually Obama

A misleading tweet from a reporter had Democrats and liberals on social media up in arms recently after it announced that a military veteran was being deported to Mexico. However, what the tweet left out was that the man had been drummed out of the military for a drug infraction, that he had served a lengthy prison term after giving drugs to an undercover officer — and that the deportation order had been issued under the Obama administration.

In a tweet last week, a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists posted the sad “travesty” of Miguel Perez:

It didn’t take the left long to pounce and take up the Chicago resident’s case.

Even the Democrats on the House Veterans Affairs Committee got in on the Trump-bashing action, arguing that no veteran should ever be deported:

Heartbreaking, until you consider what Mr. Woodman left out. And, according to the Washington Free Beacon, that’s a great deal.

First, Perez was given a general discharge from the Army on a drug infraction. In 2008, after his military service, according to the Chicago Tribune, he “handed a laptop case containing cocaine to an undercover officer” and ended up being sentenced to 15 years in jail.

Perez, 39, was born in Mexico and came to the United States when his father moved the family to Chicago because of a job offer, according to CNN. He is currently on a hunger strike as he faces deportation. He says he mistakenly thought he became a U.S. citizen when he took an oath to defend the United States while in the military. He also contends his military superiors did not help him understand just what he needed to do in order to become a citizen.

After he was released from prison in September 2016, he was placed into the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and ordered deported. This, you may note, happened under the waning months of the Obama administration, which had every opportunity to make sure Perez stayed in the country. It did not.

“Perez’s attorney Chris Bergin said he has filed a stay on two grounds,” the Chicago Tribune reported. “One is based on a medical evaluation finding that Perez needs immediate attention for PTSD and his brain injury. The other seeks retroactive citizenship for Perez to when he joined the military in 2001.”

Perez has previously argued that veterans with combat experience are targeted by drug cartels in Mexico to work for them, although a three-judge panel on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected that argument in late January.

While Perez may have served this country, the fact is that he is being deported for a reason: He is not an American citizen, and he committed a serious crime.

Courts under both the Obama and Trump administrations have upheld his conviction, and if the Democrats had wanted to do anything about it, they certainly had a president who could have done just that. He chose not to, likely for good reason.

To drop this on the Trump administration is the height of deceptiveness. If liberals want to look at who’s really responsible for deciding this, they ought to look at someone else from Chicago: former President Obama.

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson was struck and killed Sunday morning as he was helping an Uber driver along Interstate 70, by a vehicle driven by a twice-deported illegal alien.

Jackson, 26, had stopped to help Jeffrey Monroe, 54, who had pulled over because of illness.  

Jackson and Monroe, of Avon, Indiana, were standing near a stopped vehicle when Manuel Orrego-Savala’s pickup truck drove onto the emergency shoulder and struck and killed them both, according to The Indianapolis Star. Orrego-Savala was arrested and taken to the Marion County jail, where he gave police a false name.

Police and media soon discovered Orrego-Savala was a Guatemalan national who had been deported before. He is being held in a local jail, and a hold has been placed on him so he can be picked up by federal agents.

“Orrego-Savala is in the United States illegally and has previously been deported on two occasions, in 2007 and again in 2009,” said Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine in a statement. “State police investigators are working with U.S. federal immigration officials and they have placed a hold on Orrego-Savala.”

The deaths of Jackson and Monroe are bound to give new attention to some Indiana Democrats’ efforts to make various cities “sanctuaries” from federal immigration laws. Last February, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett stopped short of saying he supports making the Indiana capital a “sanctuary city” that does not cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Hogsett agreed in 2017 to work with activist groups and the Indianapolis City-County Council to pass a resolution that Indianapolis will not comply with any law a court has determined to be discriminatory or unconstitutional. But Hogsett declined to name the city a sanctuary from federal immigration laws.

Last December, the city of Gary, Indiana, was sued by conservative attorney James Bopp for declaring itself a “welcoming city“ that may ignore ICE requests to detain illegal aliens in city jails.

Indiana state law forbids sanctuary policies in cities and counties. Gary backed down after Bopp’s lawsuit.

Rep. Todd Rokita (R-Ind.), who represents the Indianapolis suburbs, said he will fight for a federal law to punish local officials who protect illegal aliens.

“The loss of life at the hands of illegal immigrant criminals should make all Hoosiers sad and ultimately angry,” Rokita said in a statement. “We must do more to get these dangerous illegal immigrant criminals off our streets, and guarantee this never happens again by building a wall, ending sanctuary cities, and stopping illegal immigration once and for all.”

In December, Rokita introduced the SLAP ACT (Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians). The proposed law would establish penalties for sanctuary city politicians who ignore federal immigration enforcement.

Fusion GPS Could Have Been Trying To Buy Access To DOJ With Payments To Official’s Wife

Under a contract from the Clinton campaign, the Fusion GPS research firm was paying the wife of a senior Department of Justice official as part of its efforts to gather opposition research on Trump, and the same official then brought that research to the FBI.

Knowledge of the relationship has raised questions about the extent to which the firm may have paid for heightened access to the criminal justice system, and whether they would have hired Nellie Ohr absent her spousal connection to the DoJ.

A declassified memo said Bruce “Ohr’s wife was employed by Fusion GPS to assist in the cultivation of opposition research on Trump. Ohr later provided the FBI with all of his wife’s opposition research, paid for by the DNC and Clinton campaign via Fusion GPS. The Ohrs’ relationship with Steele and Fusion GPS was inexplicably concealed from the” court when it was used to obtain a surveillance warrant.

Bruce Ohr was deputy associate attorney general until December. House investigators determined that he met personally with Glenn Simpson, Fusion GPS’ founder.

The FBI has limited resources to deal with a firehose of information, so people seeking the FBI’s attention could potentially benefit from greasing the wheels in order to get info to the front of the queue and to a high level.

“The money sweetened the pot for the Ohrs, and it certainly made it easier for Fusion to get the dossier to be used before the court if they made that payment to Bruce Ohr’s wife,” former judge and Texas GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert told The Daily Caller News Foundation,

“Fusion had to have known that because of the relationship between Bruce Ohr and his wife, they were bringing Fusion, the DOJ and the DNC together under one roof to work for the same goal, which was to stop Donald Trump from becoming president,” he said.

Ohr’s wife, Nellie, is a Russia expert, but it is not known what her specific contribution to the dossier was.

“The financial arrangement between Mrs. Ohr and Fusion GPS gives the appearance of government-for-hire,” said Tom Anderson, an ethics expert at the conservative-leaning watchdog group the National Legal and Policy Center. It “appears to be a sophisticated scheme to get access to the highest levels of our government … ensuring the use of government resources in an attempt to influence an election.”

Parties seeking to hide ethically questionable payments often write the checks to a family member. Since spouses generally share assets, payments to one benefit the other, and paying the spouse can make the payments less obvious or harder to trace.

Nellie did not return a message left on a number listed as her home phone number asking what contribution she made to the dossier.

Getting information into the hands of law enforcement through the family member of an official could have potentially also limited the paper trail showing how it wound up in FBI hands, and fingerprints tying it back to Fusion GPS, the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Gohmert, who is a member of the House Committee on the Judiciary, said he believes that Ohr and other officials already harbored anti-Trump inclinations, but the money could have helped push him over the edge to take a leading role. “It was a way to reward people that thought like them. They enriched themselves and their friends.”

Voter registration data shows Nellie has been a registered Democrat in the past.

Cabot Phillips from Campus Reform spoke to several students outside John Jay College in New York and asked them to comment on some of the statements from the SOTU speech. What Phillips didn’t tell them is that the statements actually quoted Obama.

And then, when some of them realized what had happened, they backpedaled.

My favorite is the girl with the fur-trimmed hood and red scarf that went from ‘we need to mind our own business because there are other countries with automatic and nuclear weapons‘ to, ‘some people are quick to judge Donald Trump just because of a few things he says, but I think if they paid attention to his whole Presidency they’d have a better perspective on him‘.

But that’s not her, right — it’s ‘some’ people?

Riiiiight.

And then there’s the guy at the end that is reasonable. President Trump managed to get through to the American people that were really listening to him when he delivered the State of the Union Address.

The response was overwhelmingly positive.

And despite the character assassination that has been ongoing for almost two years by the Media (D), his numbers are getting a bump.

Could it be because he’s not the boogeyman that they portray him to be?

Could it be because he is implementing good policies that are benefiting Americans?

Could it be because the Democrats doubled-down on identity politics and refused to stand for things that they say that they champion?

Could it be because Democrats have learned absolutely nothing after the last election and shoved privileged, trust-funded ‘Kennedy Dynasty’ Rep. Joe Kennedy III to deliver the counter to the President’s SOTU speech?

It looks like Americans ain’t having it.

It looks like the antidote to ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ is a healthy dose of #MAGA.

It’s Clear as Day: Dems Hatred for Trump Controls Every Action

The Left has been crying and whining since the election. They called good Americans “Deplorables.” They staged a sit in to protest gun violence, and simply looked like a bunch of petulant children in dire need of a whoopin’.

Maxine Waters screams incessantly (and usually on MSNBC, that wholly ‘impartial and objective’ channel…not) “Impeach him!”

Many of the Dems boycotted the inauguration in January 2017.

And these Dems boycotted President Trump’s first State of the Union:

The Democrats that actually attended sat there grimacing and pouting, once again looking like petulant, spoiled brats. The Congressional Black Caucus attempted to “resist” by wearing “kente cloth” in protest to Trump’s s-hole countries comment. For the most part, the Dems sat on their hands rather than applaud the low African American unemployment, low Hispanic unemployment, and high rate of economic growth in America. 

What The Left is broadcasting loud and clear is a hatred of Trump that supersedes any other emotion or motive — including love for America and Americans.

California Presumes Homeschooling Parents Are Child Abusers, Seeks Invasive New Restrictions

As California lawmakers continue their track-record of controversial decisions, one announcement in particular has caused an outcry for its overreaching presumption: that all homeschoolers must also be child abusers.

According to The Washington Examiner, the plan set out by lawmakers would be to force parents into proving to the government that they are, in fact, fit to be a parent. The homeschooling parent — per legal requirement — would have to meet the government’s required checklist via home visits, interviews, and other oversights, effectively increasing the burden on the parent to prove themselves parentally fit. 

And many have expressed concern over stripping away the legally protected option of homeschooling and deeming it as absurdly unconstitutional.

The decision seems to be in light of the horrifying case of David and Louise Turpin who were registered as homeschoolers to the 13 children that authorities found chained, malnourished and abused. Setting logic aside, lawmakers have set their emotions to focus on the sole aspect of the couple being homeschooling parents, rather than the fact that there were psychological issues at play long before the couple even conceived.

It’s an extreme example to try and bolster the controversial plan to increase government regulations when it comes to children and their education, yet data about the benefits of homeschooling may work against them. A recent piece by Chris Weller for Business Insider gives five strong reasons why kids in today’s world of technology, online classes and apps might actually be better-off than their publicly educated peers.

“Homeschooled kids have the same access to online learning, friendships, and extracurricular activities as the typical public school student,” Weller summarizes. “But without many of the drawbacks, like standardized lesson plans and bullying.”

Furthermore, there is little to no data that proves — or suggests — that homeschooled kids are abused by their parents or even at greater risk of being a victim of parental abuse, yet standardized lesson plans have routinely been called out by parents nationwide.

Lawmakers continue to use extreme cases like the Turpins and veiled data to prove their point, pushing out an agenda that criminalizes homeschooling — just one agenda among many which American citizens seem to be blind to.

“I’m routinely astounded by the degree to which Americans will be outraged by government abuses that take place in far-off lands, while remaining uninterested in similar abuses right here in their very midst,” wrote senior editorial writer Steven Greenhut for Foundation for Economic Education.

Greenhut’s article was one of many that chronicled the outrageous attempt at the liberal state to strip away fundamental basic rights, including that of every parent: to educate their own child as they see fit. Though there are current laws that protect those parents, Greenhut cautioned America to take a closer look at just how far lawmakers will go to invade the privacy of a household, likening it to totalitarian countries where “anything not expressly allowed is forbidden.”

“Only someone with an ideological axe to grind could find illegality in the practice of homeschooling.”

#MemoReleased: Why Have There Been No Arrests?

FISA is a way in which people in DC can, in essence, spy on American citizens by fraudulently obtaining a warrant claiming “national security” under the guise of spying on a foreign person or entity.  That is easily demonstrated in the FISA report we reported on a couple of weeks ago.

While many political junkies and talking heads pontificate on the newly release FISA memo, I want to know just one thing, why has no one been arrested for crimes against the American people in violation of the Constitution?

With the release of the 4 page FISA memo, it’s clear that the FBI, DOJ and NSA, along with the Obama administration abused their power and acted on a debunked, Soros and Hillary Clinton funded dossier to surveil then-candidate Donald Trump, with no probable cause.

President Donald Trump said that the memo revealed that “a lot of people should be ashamed of themselves.”

“I think it’s terrible,” Trump said. “You want to know the truth. I think it’s a disgrace. What’s going on in this country, I think it’s a disgrace.”

OK, great, it’s a disgrace, but more importantly, it reveals criminal activity, Mr. President!  And this not only concerns Donald Trump and those who were in his campaign and transition team, but it concerns the American people, as evidenced by a previous FISA report in which 85% of the National Security Agency’s searches were illegal against American citizens in violation of the Constitution.

The FISA memo stated that the now debunked dossier, which was authored by former British spy Christopher Steele and commissioned by Fusion GPS, and that was paid by the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign was used to initiate unconstitutional spying on the Trump campaign.

According to the House Intelligence Committee, the information begins to “raise concerns with the legitimacy and legality of certain DOJ and FBI interactions” with the FISA court.

Additionally, it represents “a troubling breakdown of legal processes established to protect the American people from abuses related to the FISA process.”

The memo shows the in December 2017, FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe testified that “no surveillance warrant would have been sought” from the FISA court “without the Steele dossier information.”

Steele was terminated from the FBI in 2016 “for what the FBI defines as the most serious of violations—an unauthorized disclosure to the media of his relationship with the FBI.”

Fox News adds:

But even after his termination, Steele remained in close contact with Justice Department official—then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr. At the time, Ohr “worked closely” with Yates and later Rosenstein.

Ohr’s wife Nellie began working for Fusion GPS, the firm behind the dossier, as early as May 2016.

The memo said that while the FISA application “relied” on Steele’s “past record of credible reporting” on other “unrelated matters,” the FISA application process “ignored or concealed his anti-Trump financial and ideological motivations.

According to the memo, Steele told Ohr that he “was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being president.”

“This clear evidence of Steele’s bias was recorded by Ohr at the time and subsequently in official FBI files –but not reflected in any of the Page FISA applications,” the memo reads. 

The Trump administration also had comment on the contents of the memo.

Business Insider reports:

The memo claims, among other things, that several top officials at the Justice Department and the FBI acted improperly when they signed off on applications seeking extended surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

“The brave and assiduous oversight by Congressional leaders in discovering this unprecedented abuse of process represents a giant, historic leap in the repair of America’s democracy,” Page said in a statement to Business Insider. “Now that a few of the misdeeds against the Trump Movement have been partially revealed, I look forward to updating my pending legal action in opposition to DOJ this weekend in preparation for Monday’s next small step on the long, potholed road toward helping to restore law and order in our great country.”

The memo also exposes the fact that the FISA application “extensively” cited an Sept. 23, 2016 news article, which was basically planted by Fusion GPS.

“That is significant because the article, written by veteran reporter Michael Isikoff, is itself based on the unverified dossier,” writes Benny Johnson and Chuck Ross at The Daily Caller.  “Isikoff was among a small group of reporters who in September 2016 was briefed on the dossier by Steele and Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson.” 

“The FISA application made no mention of the link between the Isikoff article and the dossier,” wrote Johnson and Ross.  “Instead, the article was treated as corroborating evidence for the dossier. The memo says that the FISA application ‘incorrectly assesse[d]’ that the Isikoff article was based on information separate from the dossier.”

Here’s the real rub.  FISA is a way in which people in DC can, in essence, spy on American citizens by fraudulently obtaining a warrant claiming “national security” under the guise of spying on a foreign person or entity.  That is easily demonstrated in the FISA report we reported on a couple of weeks ago.

The judge that issued the warrant and all those who push for the surveillance should be held accountable according to the law and punished justly as they are criminals, not servants of the public.  Why are these people still in our government?  Why are they given voice in the media?  Why are they not perp walked on national television?

It’s because there is no longer equal protection under the law nor is there justice in our land despite the claims of some that a new sheriff is in town.

I ask you, President Trump, when are you going to do your duty and enforce the Constitution against these domestic terrorists, some of which you called “good people“?  When?  Don’t tell me it’s a disgrace.  It’s clearly a crime!  Do your duty, Sir!  bring the people involved to justice!  Otherwise, I can only assume you are using this for political points.

The irony of a place that calls itself, The Golden State has no more gold.

According to new statistics released last month by the United States Census Bureau the blue dominate state has more people suffering from poverty than another state in the nation.

In its report, the Census Bureau used cost of living to determine poverty level. The report utilized a standard called the “supplemental poverty measure,” or SPM, which incorporates various factors including expenditures on food, clothing, shelter and utilities, as well as geographic variations, in housing costs.

A little more than 20 percent of Californians — about 8 million people — live in poverty, according to the state’s SPM rate. By comparison, in Mississippi, the state with the highest poverty rate by the official poverty measure, only about 16 percent live in poverty, according to the state’s SPM.

Considering how California throws money away at every problem, who’s shocked.

Welfare Dependence

California state and local governments spent about $958 billion from 1992 through 2015 on public welfare programs, including cash-assistance payments, vendor payments and “other public welfare,” according to the Census Bureau. That’s almost $1 trillion, and to what end.

Hosting 12% of the American population California boasts about one in three of the nation’s welfare recipients. Vagrants know California to be the state where you can get easy money. California fights against welfare-to-work, so the lazy flock to the state in droves. It doesn’t hurt that most areas of California are inhabitable in the worst of conditions.

While California rewards the apathetic, many states have gone back to implementing work requirements for welfare. Georgia is one such state. According to a report by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, there have been an additional 21 counties who restored the work requirements. These counties experienced a 62 percent drop in SNAP participants.

This kind of approach was also successful back in the 80’s and 90’s when states implemented welfare reform. The results were welfare rolls plummeted and people went back to work. But of course Leftists in California have rejected these positive results and continue with a no strings attached welfare approach.

In fact, California recipients of state aid receive a disproportionately large share of it in no-strings-attached cash disbursements. It’s as though welfare reform passed California by, leaving a dependency trap in place. Immigrants are falling into it: 55% of immigrant families in the state get some kind of means-tested benefits, compared with just 30% of natives. 

Work ethic lifts people out of poverty. However, Democrats ignore this simple fact.

 Over Regulated Housing

In addition to out of control welfare handouts, finding an affordable home in California is nearly impossible. After New Jersey and Maryland, California is the third least-free state when it comes to housing regulation.

This is due to development fees, global warming carbon dioxide concerns, restrictive zoning, and other barriers which act to create a massive barrier to owning a house in California. This pushes the cost of a home beyond reach for the middle class, while making rent virtually impossible for the poor.

Extensive environmental regulations aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions make energy more expensive, also hurting the poor. By some estimates, California energy costs are as much as 50% higher than the national average.

 Jonathan A. Lesser of Continental Economics, author of a 2015 Manhattan Institute study, “Less Carbon, Higher Prices,” found that “in 2012, nearly 1 million California households faced … energy expenditures exceeding 10% of household income. In certain California counties, the rate of energy poverty was as high as 15% of all households.”  

In other words making the population more poor to be more “eco-friendly” is good by progressive standards!

The Official Sanctuary State

Further, if you really wanted to destroy California, you need change nothing. Take for example Jerry Brown’s new law that provides sanctuary for non-citizens. In effect, illegals have more rights than taxpaying American citizens in California.

As Reported by Fox News:

The Golden State is home to an estimated 2.3 million illegal immigrants.

“These are uncertain times for undocumented Californians and their families, and this bill strikes a balance that will protect public safety, while bringing a measure of comfort to those families who are now living in fear everyday,” Brown said on the day he signed the bill. 

And we are seeing the effects of these dangerous polices first hand. Take a look at this recording from a driver observing what a “sanctuary” looks like in California:

Additionally, California spends $23 billion on illegal immigration as opposed to the rest of the United States combined at $89 billion. 

If this is what California calls “progressivism” it’s no wonder why some counties in California are trying to declare independence from the rest of the state.

With the reading of their own version of a Declaration of Independence, founders of the state of New California took the first steps to what they hope will eventually lead to statehood. CBS Sacramento reports they don’t want to leave the United States, just California.

“Well, it’s been ungovernable for a long time. High taxes, education, you name it, and we’re rated around 48th or 50th from a business climate and standpoint in California,” said founder Robert Paul Preston.

But unlike other separation movements in the past, the state of New California wants to do things by the book, citing Article 4, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution and working with the state legislature to get it done, similar to the way West Virginia was formed.

Don’t expect California to see the light. The state is too far gone. And they have fixed the system so thoughtful leaders will never win.

I hope President Trump doesn’t offer them a bailout without a deal to change the leadership. Know that California is broke and not admitting it.

Scariest Poll of the Year for Democrats Just Released. If you are listening to the Democrats, there are a lot of things they didn’t like about the president’s speech at last night’s State of the Union address.

But what should bother them most is the poll released shortly thereafter.

President Trump received a 75 percent approval for his SOTU speech. That’s really bad news for Democrats. But inside the numbers reveals far deeper problems. According to the poll 43 percent of Democrats liked the president’s speech. That number is huge. At best, Trump likely carried only 30 percent of the Democrat vote on November 8, 2016. So the idea that he now carries an additional 13 percent is huge. Add to this the recent poll showing the twice as many blacks support Trump now than on election day, and you see the problem for the Democrats.

Next, 72 percent of Independents liked the speech. Again, a big increase over the Independents who supported Trump a year ago.

How do you think those numbers jive with the fake news polls?

Consider Steve Schmidt of MSNBC who actually called the speech “divisive” and thought it was coming from an “alternate reality.”

SCHMIDT: “The president went in there as presidents do and addresses the nation. But left unsaid was that this president comes in, the most unpopular president this early in his tenure in the history of polling. 

 Somebody who is besieged by a criminal investigation, talking about the importance of our law enforcement organizations and institutions while at the same time the Republican majority working with the White House is engaged in a full-on assault trying to discredit the FBI, the Justice Department, doing everything they conceivably can to insulate the president from these investigations.

 Across the depth and breadth of this, you saw a divisive speech, the wedge issue of immigration, the scare tactics of ms-13. There was no talk in this speech about the challenges the country faces over the next five years, ten years, 15 years.

And more than anything, there was a speech delivered almost from an alternate reality, a fifth dimension that presumes that nothing we heard from this president has actually in fact happened. And the American people know it.

Schmidt may have listened to President Trump, but he didn’t bother to hear. But there is one more number to consider. The Republicans. So what about that Republican base?

With 97 percent of Republicans liking the speech, that means Trump has undoubtedly shored up his base. Given the anti-Trump and Never Trumpers, the fact that Trump has such overwhelming support from a supposedly fractured party speaks volumes. The Democrats would sacrifice much for such unity.

Recall a poll taken after Trump was in office just 6 months trying to convince the public he was the most hated president in history:

According to the Washington Post/ABC poll, President Trump’s new approval rating is 36%.

“Approaching six months in office, Trump’s overall approval rating has dropped to 36 percent from 42 percent in April. His disapproval rating has risen five points to 58 percent. Overall, 48 percent say they “disapprove strongly” of Trump’s performance in office, a level never reached by former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and reached only in the second term of George W. Bush in Post-ABC polling.”

Democrats believed their polls in 2016, and that ended poorly. 

Now a CBS poll, obviously biased against Trump yields amazingly pro-Trump numbers. So what are the real numbers?

The good news for President Trump is the real numbers don’t matter. Because they will only get better.

At the SOTU, President Trump stayed true to the course he set. While Democrats behaved like petulant children, they have no choice but to come around. Truthfully, Democrats are happy Obama is gone. They celebrate a real president, but can’t share their joy.

However, soon they will admit their support for President Trump. To do so will be acceptable.

CNN Anchor Chris Cuomo BLASTS Hillary Clinton Over Lies. I commented that one of the many signs that America shifts towards Conservatism will come in fake news media reporting.

I said on my radio show that you will soon see the media covering unflattering stories of high-level, previously untouchable Democrats. While CNN remains fake news as they selectively cover things like the FISA memo due to come out shortly, they no longer wear their “poker face” when discussing Hillary Clinton.

CNN anchor Chris Cuomo blasted Hillary Clinton recently over the issue of sexual abuse by a staffer. Cuomo said of the recent revelation that Clinton shielded a 2008 campaign staffer from firing after sexual harassment allegations showcases her inability to admit her mistakes.

“It raises two things,” Cuomo said. “We went hard on this Friday night on the prime time show and the one is, this is who Hillary Clinton is. Let’s be honest. One of the reasons that email story got out of control is that she wouldn’t jump on that early on either and just own what was true and apologize about it.”

“The second thing is they’ll say it was 2008,” he continued. “Whatever, you had two people, including your campaign manager, come to you and said this person has to go. That was all you needed, 2008, 1978, that’s all she should have needed.”

In this time of heightened awareness placed on sexual harassment and abuse, Hillary Clinton appears rather flippant in her response. Clinton’s 2008 former campaign chief, Patti Solis Doyle told CNN earlier Monday that she looked into the matter and “came to the conclusion that there was sexual harassment involved. She added that the young woman was very credible. Finally, she commented, “my recommendation to the Senator was to fire him and I was overruled.”

What Cuomo said is about as close as you can come to calling a person a liar, without outright calling a person a liar. But what the Democrats certainly must see is that the fake news media now covers Clinton, and not favorably. Check out this segment from Wolf Blitzer:

Interestingly, what began impugning the reputation of Harvey Weinstein now expands to engulf Hillary Clinton. What irony.

The Democrats are in big trouble. Clinton’s legacy as a champion of women’s causes is dead, even if the Left haven’t admitted it publicly.

And in the wake of the FISA memo revelations, the party itself is on life-support.

At some point, the media must try to regain some modicum of credibility. I think we have seen the first pass.

Illegal Receives 3 LIVERS Ahead of American Citizens

No America citizen should have to fight to be put ahead of illegals. But such is the case when Democrats crave new voters.

And that’s why Americans find ourselves in jeopardy. Along with double the crimes committed by illegals, their status notwithstanding, there exist other perils.

As the LA Times reports, illegals can now get on America’s organ donor registry:

Ana Puente was an infant with a liver disorder when her aunt brought her illegally to the U.S. to seek medical care. She underwent two liver transplants at UCLA Medical Center as a child in 1989 and a third in 1998, each paid for by the state.

Just so we are clear, a non-citizen of the United States brought her illegal niece to America. And she received two livers ahead of other citizens. So Puente potentially killed two Americans waiting on livers.

Things went bad for Puente when she turned 21. Because she aged out of her state-funded health insurance and was unable to continue treatment at UCLA.

The article continues,

This year, her liver began failing again and she was hospitalized at County-USC Medical Center. In her Medi-Cal application, a USC doctor wrote, “Her current clinical course is irreversible, progressive and will lead to death without another liver transplant.” The application was denied.

The county gave her medication but does not have the resources to perform transplants.

Late last month Puente learned of another, little-known option for patients with certain healthcare needs. If she notified U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services that she was in the country illegally, state health officials might grant her full Medi-Cal coverage. Puente did so, her benefits were restored and she is now awaiting a fourth transplant at UCLA. 

So now Puente has the potential to kill four Americans, all because she made it to America. Who knows who waited anxiously for the livers that Puente received. Moreso, who know what the cost was to save her life three and soon to be four times.

Anybody think Puente would have gotten transplants if the person in need of the livers were kin to elitist Democrats? And what if Pelosi or Weinstein had to pick up the costs?

Thus the controversies:

  • Should illegal immigrants receive liver transplants in the U.S.?
  • Should taxpayers pick up the cost?

Allow me to answer on behalf of Americans. No and no!

The article elucidates both issues:

The average cost of a liver transplant and first-year follow-up is nearly $490,000, and anti-rejection medications can run more than $30,000 annually, according to the United Network for Organ Sharing, which oversees transplantation nationwide.

Donor livers are also in scarce supply. In California, nearly 3,700 people are on a waiting list for livers, according to the network. Last year, 767 liver transplants were performed in the state. More than 90% of the organs were given to U.S. citizens.

Donor livers are generally allocated through a geographically based distribution system on the basis of how sick the patients are and how long they have been on the transplant waiting list.

Immigration status does not play a role in allocating organs.

So, if an illegal can get to America, they can jump over citizens in the list for organs, AND get the American taxpayers to fund their transplants. 

Do you know any other country where this is possible?

This is incredible, and certainly something Americans need to know when deciding on whom to support. Clearly the Democrats put the lives of illegals over those of citizens.

There is a saying, “It’s all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.”. That’s a cautionary tale usually told to children who rough house too much. But that saying certainly applies to organs. Because when you or your loved one needs an organ, you may resent that somebody not only jumped ahead of you, but they will get the organ promised to you, for free.
