We Don’t Break God’s Law – We Break Ourselves

I believe that sexual harassment is wrong. Every organization I have been a part of has had a clear policy statement prohibiting it. But I don’t believe that sexual harassment is wrong because of institutional policy, risk reduction, public image or brand protection. I don’t believe that sexual harassment is wrong because I am functioning from a feminist epistemology or neo-Marxist perception of power. No. I believe that sexual harassment is wrong because it is a gross act of exploitation of another person who is made in the image of God. Theologians call it imago dei.

The biblical account of creation describes the image of God upon humanity.

Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ “And God said, ‘See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day (Genesis 1:26-31 NKJV).

“Let us…” Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit acted as one in creation to make humanity in God’s image or likeness. God gave humanity dominion over plants, animals, and nature, not over each other to control people as if they were possessions or property. Enslavement objectifies others in an attempt to control human liberty. Such objectification is always wrong. Such objectification violates God’s creative design that bestows freedom of choice upon humanity, the pinnacle of His Creation.

I believe that sexual harassment is wrong not only because it objectifies people and violates the imago dei God gives to humanity as His creative gift, but also because I reject the shifting mores of political correctness.

Human nature depends upon rules. Rules create order. Order is demanded to ensure predictability. Predictability is at the core of learning. All of life depends upon order. God built order into the universe to protect and prosper His creation.

Sin distorts order. Humanity rejects God’s order. When we reject God’s order we don’t break His law, we break ourselves upon His immutable law. We crush, destroy, warp, sicken, and poison our lives with the toxicity of our rebellion. Such is the essence of sin. Sin is the rebel “I.” Sin is the infant cry from an adult body that insists “I do it my way,” all the while shaking one’s tiny rebellious fist in the face of Infinity.

It never works out well.

We don’t break God’s law. We break ourselves. We do so very badly. Over and over.

God created us with a need for very clear boundaries if we are to experience fulfilling expression of the sexuality that He so intricately designed within humanity.

And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. “And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’ “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed (Genesis 2:18- 25 NKJV).

God designed man and woman for mutual fulfillment in lifelong covenantal love. Sex is to be a beautiful recreative and procreative act within the boundaries of holy, committed love.

God gave the Hebrew people a moral law in the Old Covenant. This moral law provided details for sexual fulfillment along with prohibitions of those activities that undermine the healthy function of a community. He insisted that sex within holy marriage is good and fulfilling. Sex outside of holy marriage is objectifying and exploitative. Someone always winds up losing. So, He forbade certain sexual relationships:

Sex with close kin (father, mother, step-mother, sister, step-sister, brother, step-brother, aunt, uncle).
Sex with someone else’s spouse.
Sex with someone of the same sex as yourself.
Sex with an animal.

Everybody else was living this broken, sinful lifestyle. But God said “Not my people. They are in covenant relationship with me.”

Political correctness has abandoned God’s morality and replaced it with a new, more permissive one. The only problem is, IT DOES NOT WORK! The new morality is simply the old immorality. I find no hope in the fact that the moral carousel has stopped at this temporary conclusion because I know that the shifting mores of political correctness will continue to turn its destructive and downward cycle.

However, one after another, the exploiters are being “outed.” Once outed, they are being ousted. Newscasters, politicians, media moguls, business executives, preachers, and priests alike. Some are not even being afforded due process. But that is not my point.

Here is the point. Abandoning God’s design for fulfilling human sexual expression, one man with one woman for life in holy marriage, is doomed to fail. We don’t break God’s law. Sooner or later, we break ourselves upon it.

This Trump Decision Is A Major Blow To The Administrative State

The Trump administration switched sides Wednesday in a case pending before the Supreme Court that could retroactively nullify tens of thousands of agency decisions.

The case, Lucia v. SEC, has major implications for the process by which federal agencies try or punish those in violation of laws or regulations.

The litigation concerns an agency’s decision to allow career bureaucrats to preside as the functional equivalent of judges during enforcement proceedings. These officials, called administrative law judges (ALJs), are hired by career bureaucrats. They are not appointed by the president, a court or an agency head, but they exercise significant authority on behalf of the U.S. government in official proceedings. ALJs can, among other things, issue subpoenas, make decisions about the credibility of witnesses or the admissibility of evidence, and issues provisional rulings that are generally upheld on final review — if a final review occurs at all.

The Constitution requires that the president, the courts, or the head of an executive department appoint all “inferior officers” of the United States.

A group of investment managers challenged the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) use of ALJs in an enforcement proceeding convened against them for alleged violations of securities law. The managers argue these proceedings are unlawful, because the ALJs are exactly the sort of “inferior officer” who must be appointed by the president, the court, or the head of an agency, since they exercise meaningful discretion on behalf of the federal government.

A lower federal court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, found in favor of the SEC. A three-judge panel found for the SEC, and the full court affirmed that decision on a five to five vote. The investment managers then appealed to the Supreme Court.

The Obama Justice Department sided with the SEC in the dispute, but Trump’s new solicitor general, Noel Francisco, changed positions Wednesday, and backed the money managers.

“Upon further consideration, and in light of the implications for the exercise of executive power under Article II, the government is now of the view that such ALJs are officers because they exercise ‘significant authority pursuant to the laws of the United States,’” Francisco wrote in a new brief at the Supreme Court.

A Supreme Court ruling against the SEC could have important implications for similarly-situated officials in other agencies. ALJs often preside in actions brought by a whole host of federal agencies. A finding against the SEC would potentially jeopardize, and perhaps invalidate, the legal status of thousands of other agency proceedings.

The Justice Department generally represents federal agencies before the high court. Accordingly, the solicitor general asked the justices to appoint another lawyer to represent the SEC as the litigation continues.

The high court could decide to take the case as soon as January.

A Mauriceville, Texas family is concerned that missing 15-year old Heaven Ray Cox is with a predator she met on Snapchat.

The teen, much like others her age, normally sleeps in late on weekends, but when her parents went to check in on her, she was gone.

The family of a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday fear she may be with a much older man she met on Snapchat…

…They now fear she may have been abducted or ran away by a man she met on social media, the Beaumont Enterprise reports.

Police were notified of her disappearance on November 26 and are working to assess the potential connection with the unidentified predator.

Heaven’s mother, Tammy, is concerned that she’s gone to California. Her daughter suffers from bipolar disorder, and may not be on her medication.

The distraught mother posted a message on Facebook:

She wrote: ‘The man she has been talking to is a predator, who has apparently been manipulating her for some time, and in her current state of mind, she believes that he is her friend.

‘She left a goodbye note to me and her Dad, and said that she wouldn’t have a phone, so I’m sure he has taken it from her, as it isn’t here, and I have torn her room apart. She is off her meds and is in a manic phase of bipolar disorder.

‘I am asking everyone to share this to their wall, and particularly those who live in California and every state between there and Texas.

‘This man told her that he would be in San Antonio for Thanksgiving and that he would pick her up.’

San Antonio is 4.5 hours from Mauriceville.

Police say that a note that was left indicates that the teen may be headed to California. Her passport is also missing.

How devastating.

Let’s hope this pretty, young lady is found soon and unharmed.

YO, FEMINISTS: Here’s How YOU Aided & Abetted Sexual Predators

Alright, all you pink, knit kitty hat-wearing, genitalia-costumed protesters — what do you have to say about THIS?

In a fantastic and unbelievably timely piece in the Christian Post, journalist and radio show host, Julie Roys writes about feminism and sexual predators.

It’s time for A Reckoning.

It was published on Tuesday, November 28, the day before the shocking firing of Matt Lauer from NBC News.

It is an incredibly well-written indictment of modern feminism and their role in aiding and abetting sexual predators in Washington, Hollywood, and the rest of American society.

(FYI for all the offense-mongers out there, this article was written by a female ClashDaily Editor.)

Roy cites 5 big reasons why feminism has contributed to the sexual exploitation and harassment of women.

1. Not calling out sexual predators that are ideological allies

Roys enumerates the ‘feminists’ that had jumped to the defense of Bill Clinton in the 90s amidst the allegations of sexual assault:

– Betty Friedan essentially said that she’s not sure if the allegations are true, but she doesn’t care because he’s appointed strong women, started a national childcare policy, and stood firm on abortion;

– Nina Burleigh’s crude remark about giving Clinton oral sex just for keeping abortion legal;

– and of course, the infamous New York Times op-ed by Gloria Steinem titled, ‘Feminists and the Clinton Question’ where she defends Bill’s assaults as ‘clumsy passes’.

In the 1990s and subsequent decades, feminism revealed itself to be shockingly Machiavellian. At a critical time, when the nation’s attention was trained on the plight of women exploited by a powerful man, feminism essentially told female victims to suck it up and move on. Is it any wonder that women like actress Natalie Portman have been rendered numb to the sexual harassment they’ve routinely endured?

Portman recently disclosed that when the allegations against Weinstein first surfaced, she thought, “Wow, I’m so lucky that I haven’t had this.” Then on further reflection she realized she’s been the victim of sexual harassment a hundred times, but had learned to dismiss it as “part of the process.” “I’ve had discrimination or harassment on almost everything I’ve ever worked on in some way,” she said.

Feminism also told powerful predators like Bill Clinton that if they support liberal causes, they can have their way with women and feminists will have their back. Is it any wonder that the Harvey Weinsteins of this world took this message and ran with it?

And then, Roy levels the knockout punch:

Let’s face it. We’re in this current cultural moment because of feminists, not in spite of them!

She’s absolutely right.

2. Abortion

But it’s not just feminists’ protection of predators that has contributed to the epidemic of sexual harassment and abuse in this country. The entire ideology of feminism renders women as tools for men…

…Women don’t want abortions; men do. In fact, a study reported in the Medical Science Monitor found that 64-percent of women who abort feel pressured to do so. Similarly, Frederica Matthewes-Green, who talked to hundreds of women about their decision to abort for her book, Real Choices, found that women aren’t having abortions because they are poor, or because a child would interfere with school or career plans. They’re having abortions because the men in their lives tell them to do so.

Matthewes-Green reported that 88-percent of the women she interviewed said their trip to the abortion clinic was not a choice, but a capitulation. They didn’t feel empowered; they felt isolated, overwhelmed and sad.

Mathhewes-Green said that women don’t choose abortion like an ice cream cone or a Porsche, she went so far as to illustrate the ‘woman’s choice’ like an ‘animal caught in a trap that wants to gnaw its own leg off’.

Yet, abortion is still a pillar of the feminist movement.

So much so that Pro-Life groups weren’t allowed to march with the Nasty Women in Washinton in January.

Yet abortion remains enshrined as the holy grail of feminism. The National Organization of Women (NOW) names so-called “reproductive justice” as one of its five main campaigns. Reproductive Rights is also cited as one of the Women’s March main “unity principles.”

Feminism’s commitment to abortion is downright fanatical. As one of Hillary Clinton’s biographers, Dr. Paul Kengor, once wrote, “(Abortion) is Hillary’s hill to die on. I believe Hillary Clinton would give her life for Roe v. Wade.”

But that’s not the entirety of Roy’s ire. She’s not just writing about feminists past, but also feminists present.

3. Making women the functional equivalents of men

As much as feminists want to claim that women are identical to men — NEWSFLASH! They’re not.

It’s ok that there are differences in the genders.

Abortion is necessary to achieve feminism’s goal of making women the functional equivalents of men. But women aren’t the functional equivalents of men. Perhaps someone should inform feminists that women have a womb; we nurse babies; and we’d prefer to have our unique maternal functions protected, rather than obliterated.

Of course, intersectional feminists would dispute that, because some women have a penis.

4. ‘Hook-up’ culture

We’d also prefer feminists to call predatory men to account – not just the Bill Clintons and Harvey Weinsteins, but the “Alexes” and “Martys.” These are the guys who bragged to a Vanity Fair reporter about their “Tinderellas,” the dozens of girls they’ve slept with and discarded after finding them on dating apps like Tinder and Hinge.

Feminists should be up in arms over the wanton abuse of women inherent in the current hookup culture; instead so-called “third-wave” feminists are actually promoting it.

These “sex-positive” or “porn-positive” feminists are so deceived that they actually think freely prostituting one’s body is somehow in women’s best interests. Heavily influenced by the message of the sexual revolution, these daughters of second-wave feminists believe sexual freedom is essential to women’s freedom and, as a result, oppose controlling or limiting sex in any way.

You know like ‘feminist’ and 2018 Grammy nominee Cardi B and others that are peddling sex as a pastime or a way to wealth and fame.

5. Sex/Porn Positive ‘feminists’ strong-arming anyone that disagrees with them

Just like with abortion, if you disagree with feminists on their view of casual sex and that women view sex differently than men do, they’ll disavow you.

Sadly, their errant ideology is killing them. As a female student at Boston College told Vanity Fair, “Sex should stem from emotional intimacy, and it’s the opposite with us right now, and I think it really is kind of destroying females’ self-images.” Her classmate agreed and added, “But if you say any of this out loud, it’s like you’re weak, you’re not independent, you somehow missed the whole memo about third-wave feminism.”

What an Actual Descendant of Pocahontas Had to Say About Trump Crushes Media Narrative

President Donald Trump sent the mainstream media into a frenzy on Monday when he referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas” during a White House ceremony honoring a group of Native American code talkers who served during World War II.

While Warren claimed Trump had used a “racial slur,” an actual descendant of Pocahontas has previously said she doesn’t find the president’s nickname for the Massachusetts Democrat to be offensive.

During an interview in September with Sky News, Debbie “White Dove” Porreco said Trump had once asked her if it offended her when he used the term “Pocahontas” to refer to Warren.

“I know he uses ‘Pocahontas’ sometimes with Elizabeth Warren,” Porreco said.

“He said, ‘Well does that offend you when I use that?’’ she added. “And I told him no, it doesn’t offend me.”

Porreco said she believes the real Pocahontas would have a positive view of Trump if she were still living.

“If Pocahontas were alive today, she would be very proud of President Trump,” Porreco said. “Just like Pocahontas was a heroine, Donald Trump is going to be our hero.”

Sky News also interviewed Irene Bedard, a Native American woman who voiced Pocahontas in the 1995 animated Disney movie.

“Do I think Pocahontas would be a fan of Trump? Oh no,” Bedard said. “Misogyny and bullying and name-calling at its finest. It is not intelligent discourse.”

Following Trump’s comments, Warren appeared on MSNBC and criticized the president for using a “racial slur.”

“This was supposed to be an event to honor heroes, people who put it all on the line for our country,” Warren said, according to Real Clear Politics.

“It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States can’t even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without throwing out a racial slur,” she added.

The issue surrounding Warren’s claims that she is Native American first arose during her 2012 Senate run.

It was revealed that when she worked as a professor at Harvard Law School, the school tried to used her claims to prove their faculty was diverse, according to The Hill.

However, Breitbart noted in 2014 that there’s “no credible evidence that exists to support” Warren’s controversial claims of Native American ancestry.

At least liberals are finally telling the truth about Bill Clinton — and just 20 years after it mattered! Of course, considering it took the Democratic Party a century to discover that slavery was wrong, two decades is lightning speed for these moral paragons.

While edging up to admitting that Bill Clinton maybe shouldn’t have raped Juanita Broaddrick and flashed Paula Jones, liberals still can’t own up to their utterly hypocritical defense of a president credibly accused of repeated sexual assaults and associated felonies.

Recently, The New York Times’ Maureen Dowd tried to cover up the left’s shameful response to Clinton’s sleazy behavior with the “both sides” argument. According to Dowd, liberals “tried to kill off” Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas “over sex when the real reason they wanted to get rid of him was politics.” And then conservatives “tried to kill off a Democratic president over sex when the real reason they wanted to get rid of him was politics.”

Here are three important differences off the top of my head:

1) Anita Hill’s accusations against Thomas involved words — just words — whereas Clinton was accused by multiple women of being a sexual predator on a scale to rival Harvey Weinstein.

2) The evidence against Thomas consisted of a single accuser, with no corroborating witnesses. The evidence against Clinton included, among other things, multiple witnesses; contemporaneous corroborating witnesses; secretly recorded confessions of the assaults and liaisons from Clinton himself (the Gennifer Flowers tape), Monica Lewinsky (Linda Tripp tapes) and Juanita Broaddrick (two separate tapes by people who wanted her to tell the truth about the rape); a DNA-stained dress; and, eventually, when he had absolutely no other choice, Clinton’s own admission under oath.

3) As Dowd says, the left was using Hill’s made-up charges against Thomas to save Roe v. Wade. By contrast, it’s absurd to imagine that Republicans were enraged by the policies of President Clinton — a neoliberal, Third-Way, welfare-reform-signing, Ricky Ray Rector-executing Democrat. Clinton was the last of a vanishing breed, the moderate Democrat. That just wasn’t a good enough reason to overlook his repeated sexual assaults, felonies and bald-faced lies.

It was liberals, and only liberals, who did an about-face on everything they supposedly believed about sexual harassment for political gain. The exact same people who had pretended to need smelling salts when told Thomas had joked about “Long Dong Silver” in the offices of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (never happened) were suddenly A-OK with a governor summoning a lowly state employee to his hotel room, dropping his pants and saying, “Kiss it.”

The erstwhile lynch mob against Clarence Thomas was fine with a presidential candidate using his campaign staff (including ABC’s George Stephanopoulos) to squelch “bimbo eruptions.”

Liberals were totally copacetic with the president of the United States using the full power of his office to smear his victims as liars, bimbos, trailer park trash and — in the case of Monica Lewinsky — a “stalker.”

In the middle of the Lewinsky scandal, feminist icon Gloria Steinem penned a New York Times op-ed launching the all-new “One Free Grope” rule. Steinem explained that Clinton’s smooth “kiss it” line to Paula Jones merely showed that — I quote — “Clinton took ‘no’ for an answer.”

No correction to Steinem’s pronouncement was issued days later when news of Juanita Broaddrick’s rape charge against Clinton began to circulate.

(If you doubt that the media are run by the totalitarian left, note that Steinem’s op-ed has been wiped from the Times’ archives. So I guess liberals do know how to wipe hard drives!)

Clinton was impeached for perjury and other felonies he committed to defeat Jones’ sexual harassment claim against him. Not one Democrat in the Senate voted to remove him from office. Not one.

As a consequence, the rule on sexual assault at least since Teddy Kennedy drowned Mary Jo Kopechne was this: Liberals were free to grope, rape and drown women and to smear them and their defenders. But conservatives, lacrosse players, fraternity members, pompous Fox News hosts and other objects of liberal hate would be destroyed at the slightest hint of any sexual impropriety, whether true or comically false.

What didn’t matter: The nature of the charge, credibility of the accuser, use of force, contemporaneous witnesses, photographic evidence, DNA evidence …

What mattered: Who’s the accused?

It would be as if pollution laws were enforced only against companies with Republican CEOs. Oh! It’s Harvey Weinstein’s firm? My mistake — go ahead, dump toxic chemicals into this pristine river.

That’s why the most shocking revelation to emerge from The New York Times’ expose of Weinstein last month was that it was published at all. Least shocking was that, before Ronan Farrow took his detailed account of Weinstein’s assaults to The New Yorker, NBC killed the story.

Also unsurprising: Soon after refusing to publish Farrow’s report on Weinstein, NBC was frantically peddling a letter by “Saturday Night Live” staffers defending Franken from his own multiple groping incidents. (It’s looking like the best way to defend Roy Moore would be to allege that Democratic Sen. Al Franken once fondled 14-year-olds.)

Still, with the Times’ expose of Weinstein, for the first time in 20 years, liberals have finally begun to notice the prodigious abuse of women by liberal men — other than Al Franken, of course.

Perhaps the day is not far off when we will have ONE standard for both liberals and the people liberals hate. A girl can dream!

Trumps Spend Thanksgiving Serving Meals To Active Duty Armed Forces

The president and first lady chose to spend part of their Thanksgiving feeding and thanking active duty members of the Armed Forces. President Trump and Melania Trump showed up to Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet to deliver meals to dozens of active Coast Guardsmen who had to work on Thanksgiving.

The First family served sandwiches, fruit, juice, cookies, muffins and sodas they had donated to sixty active duty coast guardsmen, some who were heading out to patrol soon thereafter.

According to the White House Pool report, Trump encouraged the men and women in the room:

“It is an honor to be here,” the president said.

He noted that “there is no brand that went up like the Coast Guard” during the hurricanes in Texas, the Gulf Coast and Puerto Rico. He recognized the Coast Guard for rescuing 16,000 people in Texas after Hurricane Harvey, a number that he says few know or believe.

“Incredible people, you’ve done an incredible job,” Trump said.

The First Lady jumped in to tell the group: “Happy Thanksgiving!” She smiled and waved with both hands as she spoke.

The president offered to take questions from the Coast Guard, although no one spoke up — which the president says he loves.

The Trump administration has a new opportunity to target the funding of Planned Parenthood and other groups that provide abortions.

The Department of Health and Human Services Department (HHS) will soon set the terms for obtaining grants under Title X, a federally funded family planning program long reviled by conservatives. Officials within HHS who have been critical of Title X in the past now have the opportunity to reshape the program to fit the anti-abortion views of the administration.

Teresa Manning, the deputy assistant secretary of the office of population affairs at HHS, which oversees Title X, is a prominent anti-abortion advocate and a former lobbyist for the National Right to Life Committee. That group led the charge for restrictions on the program under President Reagan.

“This is the administration’s first attempt to really kind of redefine what they want the family planning program to look like,” said Audrey Sandusky, communications director for the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), which represents Title X grant recipients.

“We anticipate some attempt to undercut the program,” she said.

Supporters of Title X worry the administration will freeze out clinics that also provide abortions, restrict the types of services performed at clinics, limit access to some types of birth control or reduce funding for the program.

Meanwhile, anti-abortion advocates are hoping the administration will resurrect Reagan-era regulations that banned Title X providers from offering abortion referrals and counseling and from encouraging, promoting or advocating abortion as a method of family planning. This would have to be done through the rulemaking process, which could take months.

“The best thing for health care and for women is that they receive [family planning services] in a setting that’s devoid of the possibility of Planned Parenthood pushing quote unquote options, when what they’re doing is referring them to the abortion facility,” said Steve Aden, chief legal officer and general counsel at Americans United for Life, an anti-abortion advocacy group in D.C.

“It might be next door, it might be across town. But virtually all of these clinics have affiliated abortion providers and they refer over. The best atmosphere for women would be one free of that kind of pressure.”

The Trump administration’s intent will be clear when HHS issues a funding opportunity announcement for the Title X grants. The conditions are expected to differ from the ones that were set by the Obama administration, perhaps significantly.

The amount of money at stake is significant.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that Planned Parenthood and its affiliates receive about $60 million a year through the Title X program. In 2017, Congress appropriated $286 million total for the grants.

Kinsey Hasstedt, a senior policy manager at the Guttmacher Institute, which supports abortion rights, said it would be naive to think the Trump administration wouldn’t take the opportunity to “put a flag in the ground” on Title X.

“The administration has shown its cards to some degree in its opposition to abortion and providers who offer or are affiliated with abortion.”

President Trump signed a bill earlier this year allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood for political reasons, reversing a last-minute rule signed by former President Obama. The Trump administration’s fiscal 2018 budget request also would have excluded Planned Parenthood affiliates from all forms of federal funding, but that provision has yet to pass Congress.

That leaves Title X as the most plausible route for the administration to crack down on abortion providers. While federal dollars, including Title X grants, can’t be used to pay for abortions, critics argue that the money is fungible and could still indirectly support the procedure if it goes to groups that perform abortions like Planned Parenthood.

That’s the argument for resurrecting Reagan-era restrictions requiring a physical and financial separation between Title X projects and abortion services, including separate waiting and examination rooms, separate staff and separate accounting records.

“That’s been a really big concern I think in the pro-life community,” said Melanie Israel, a research association at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“Ultimately, money is fungible, and at the end of the day, those regulations were really important to make sure there was truly some separation there.”

The Reagan-era regulations were upheld by the Supreme Court but were never fully implemented due to time-consuming legal challenges. Former President Clinton officially lifted the restrictions in one of his first executive orders. Restoring these regulations could take months, but Heritage and other groups that support them say it would make certain that absolutely no federal funds go toward abortion.

“We think the administration should be interested in ensuring that taxpayer dollars aren’t subsidizing abortion entities,” said David Christensen, vice president of government affairs at the Family Research Council.

“Doing this would not prevent organizations like Planned Parenthood necessarily from getting Title X funds. It would mean though that the Title X family planning program would have to be physically and financially separate from an organization’s abortion activities.”

Guttmacher’s Kinsey said the possible changes to Title X would have a big impact on women, especially those living in underserved communities.

“Any attempt to undermine this program or the providers or women’s access to affordable care would be a huge setback and would definitely impact these women in these communities and represents a really unacceptable disruption of the program.”

Illegal Alien and MS-13 Gang Member Cuts Man’s Head and Heart Off Inside ‘Sanctuary’ County

It has been reported that about 12 gang members of MS-13 lured a man into the Wheaton Regional Park and proceeded to stab him over 100 times, decapitate him and then cut his heart out; throwing it into a shallow grave they buried him in, according to authorities.

Officials in North Carolina have Miguel “Timido” Angel Lopez-Abrego, 19, in custody. Timido was extradited to Montgomery County, Maryland, where his first court appearance occurred on Wednesday.

Court document reveal that a member of MS-13 identified Timido as a person involved in the violent murder:

On 09/05/2017 [unnamed MS-13 member] took MCPD detectives to the gravesite located in the park and he further described the circumstances of the murder and detailed the choking, stabbing, decapitating, and dismembering the victim’s body before dumping it into a pre-dug hole.

[Unnamed MS-13 member] identified one of the other participants in the murder as an adult male he knew as Miguel and whose nickname was “Timido.”

The victim has been stabbed over one-hundred times, decapitated, dismembered, and his heart had been excised from his chest and thrown into the grave.

According to the Washington Post Timido is from El Salvador and is inside the United States illegally:

Lopez-Abrego did not speak during the court appearance. Officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a statement saying “Miguel Angel Lopez-Abrego, a citizen and national of El Salvador, is illegally in the U.S. and currently in immigration proceedings. On Nov. 4, ICE lodged a detainer on Mr. Lopez-Abrego with the Avery County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina after his arrest by local authorities.”

The gruesome murder was committed inside Montgomery County, Maryland, which is known territory for MS-13 gang members, due to it’s sanctuary county status. This means the county does not comply with ICE authorities to remove illegals.

“In May, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said that a whistleblower came forward and provided documents that proved that the Obama administration knowingly admitted teen MS-13 gang members into the United States and sent them to communities throughout the U.S.,” the Daily Wire reports.

If there is any holiday celebrating American history, you can count on Colin Kaepernick to hate it. The unemployed professional footballer joined Native American activists at their annual “Un-Thanksgiving” protest on Alcatraz Island.

The Indigenous People’s Sunrise Gathering holds a demonstration every year to honor the 1969 take over of Alcatraz by Native American activists. The occupation of the island lasted for two years, to which the protestors effectively brought change to federal government policy on ‘Indian affairs,’ the East Bay Times reports.

At the present day ceremony, speakers at the event condemned the “current-day American genocide,” and presented two eagle feathers to Kaepernick as a tribute from an elder for the athlete’s protest against our national anthem:

This is what Kaepernick said about the experience.

“Our fight is the same fight. We’re all fighting for our justice, for our freedom,” Kaepernick told the demonstrators.

He continued, “And realizing that we are in this fight together makes us all the more powerful.”

Via the San Francisco Chronicle he continued to say: If there’s one thing that I take away from today and seeing the beauty of everybody out here, it’s that we’re only getting stronger every day, we’re only getting larger and larger every day. I see the strength in everybody.

The dancing, the rituals – that is our resistance. We continue to fight. We continue to fight for justice. We fight for our freedom, and we continue on that path.

Kaepernick is still unemployed as an NFL player. He now, however, has done multiple media appearances to represent Black Lives Matter.

America One Step Closer to Defunding Palestinian Terrorists

The House Foreign Affairs Committee has just approved a bill called the Taylor Force Act which would strip U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority until it changes its policies on supporting terrorism.

What Is the Taylor Force Act?

Taylor Force was a U.S. veteran killed by a Palestinian terrorist while on a university trip in Israel. An officer who had served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, Force was stabbed in Tel Aviv in March 2016. His killer was shot and killed at the scene.

The Palestinian Authority is paying a salary to the family of the terrorist who killed Force, as it does to the families of all terrorists killed in action by Israeli forces. Terrorists who are not killed or who are imprisoned receive salaries directly. The longer they are in prison the more money is awarded. Palestinian leaders have long defended these payouts.

“It is the right of all of the prisoners and martyrs who have struggled and sacrificed for Palestine to receive their full salaries from the PA,” Hassan Abd Rabbo, spokesman for the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs has said.

Such payouts make up a significant portion of the Palestinian Authority budget. In 2017, the Palestinian Authority took in an estimated $693 million from international donors, but allocated nearly $345 to pay terrorists and their families.

According to the official congressional website, the Taylor Force Act will halt U.S. payments to the Palestinian Authority until that body:

is taking steps to end acts of violence against U.S. and Israeli citizens perpetrated by individuals under its jurisdictional control, such as the March 2016 attack that killed former Army officer Taylor Force;
is publicly condemning such acts of violence and is investigating, or cooperating in investigations of, such acts; and
has terminated payments for acts of terrorism against U.S. and Israeli citizens to any individual who has been convicted and imprisoned for such acts, to any individual who died committing such acts, and to family members of such an individual.

Although the Palestinian Authority is technically a secular nationalist organization in direct opposition to radical Islam, Palestinian leaders have long used Islamist rhetoric to incite the population to carry out acts of terror against Israel. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in 2015 slammed Jewish access to the Temple Mount saying, “Al-Aksa is ours and so is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. They have no right to desecrate them with their filthy feet. We won’t allow them to do so and we will do whatever we can to defend Jerusalem.”

Who Supports the Bill?

The bill enjoys bipartisan support despite being drafted by Republicans. The Senate bill was sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham. Democrats were persuaded to support the bill after concerns that the U.S. would continue to provide direct humanitarian aid, such as paying for water, were addressed. It is predicted to pass and become law.

“With this legislation, we are forcing the PA to choose between U.S. assistance and these morally reprehensible policies, and I am pleased to see this measure move forward in both chambers with so much support,” committee chairman Ed Royce (R-California).

The bill is also supported by a network of pro-Israel think tanks and political organizations.

Passing the act “will mark a vital step in the larger fight against terror, improve the lives of Israelis and Palestinians, and defend our values,” Dr. Michael Makovsky, president and CEO of the Jewish Institute for National Security of America, wrote in The Hill.

How is the Bill Progressing?

The House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee passed the bill unanimously on Wednesday. The bill will now come before the House of Representatives for a floor vote. Parallel legislation has been introduced in the Senate and will have to pass both houses to become law. The Senate’s version of the Taylor Force Act passed the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee in August.

The Taylor Force Act passed the committee alongside two other bills targeting Palestinian terrorism. One, the Hamas Human Shields Prevention Act, will impose sanctions on Hamas for its use of human shields. The other, the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act, imposes sanctions on foreign persons, agencies and governments that assist Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad or any of their affiliates.

Massive $300 Million Plant to Be Built in the United States, Trump Wins Again

President Donald Trump was elected in large part on a promise to revitalize our nation’s economy through pro-business and pro-growth policies that would produce countless new jobs for American workers. Though Congress has been dragging its feet when it comes to economy-boosting tax cuts and reform legislation, Trump’s administration has done what it can to spur job growth through cutting regulations and fostering confidence among businesses and consumers.

Fox Business reported this week that Tyson Foods, one of the biggest food companies in the world, will be building a massive new plant in Tennessee. The plant will cost an estimated $300 million to build and will provide for at least 1,500 new jobs processing more than 1.25 million chickens per week. The plant is expected to generate upwards of $150 million in additional revenue for the state.

“This project will enable us to provide even more fresh chicken to consumers across the country,” Tyson Foods president and CEO Tom Hayes said in a news release. “As one of the world’s leading protein companies, we continue to raise the world’s expectations of how much good food can do.”

The new plant, which is expected to begin operations in 2019, was initially planned as an even bigger facility in Kansas, but was ultimately shifted to Tennessee after local residents expressed opposition in Kansas.

“The (Tennessee) location is attractive to us because of the strong support we’ve received from state and local leaders, the existing industrial park and availability of labor, as well as access to feed grains produced in the region,” stated Doug Ramsey, group president of Poultry for Tyson Foods.

Meanwhile, Fox Business also noted that progress is already underway in Tennessee for construction of a massive, one million square foot factory in which LG Electronics will manufacture new washing machines. That plant is also expected to be operational in 2019.

But even though Kansas may have been passed over as the initial choice for the new Tyson chicken plant, the company still has its eye on the state for an additional expansion in the future, according to The Kansas City Star, meaning even more jobs and economic growth in the years to come.

“We have been fully aware they were considering multiple locations and planning to build more than one new complex,” explained Jackie McClaskey, Kansas’ secretary of agriculture. “We anticipate positive news in 2018 as we continue to work with multiple Kansas communities and Tyson.”

Even as plans for the one plant in Leavenworth County were placed on hold due to local opposition, other communities have expressed interest in being home to a new Tyson plant that will bring in jobs and revenue.

Nor are there any hard feelings — at least in public — at being initially passed over for a new Tyson plant, as the Kansas Department of Agriculture issued a statement congratulating both Tyson and Tennessee on working out a deal, with an obvious eye toward working together in the future.

“Consumer demand drives growth in the food and agriculture industry, and we have been aware throughout our own discussions with Tyson Foods that their expansion plans included multiple facilities in more than one state, so this announcement was not unexpected,” said department spokeswoman Heather Lansdowne.

“We look forward to continuing to work with Tyson Foods as they further evaluate expansion of their poultry business unit growth opportunities in Kansas,” she added.

Meanwhile, as American businesses expand manufacturing capacity here at home, Trump secured dozens of business deals with foreign nations such as China during his recent trip to Asia, according to CNBC.

It was estimated that, of just 37 deals struck with Chinese companies alone, roughly $250 billion will flow into the U.S. economy as a result.

Left unspecified are similar deals struck with businesses in the other nations Trump visited that could also result in tens of billions more in tax revenue initially and create an untold number of jobs.

This is what Trump was talking about when he repeatedly promised to Make America Great Again.

Mueller probe goes off the rails with Kushner scrutiny. Report: Special counsel investigates Kushner for alleged lobbying against Obama’s anti-Israel resolution.

The Wall Street Journal reports that special counsel Robert Mueller is now scrutinizing previous efforts by Jared Kushner, a top aide to President Trump (and also his son-in-law), to fight against a radical anti-Israel resolution at the United Nations during the transition period.

The report describes the newest revelation as “sign of the expansive nature of the special counsel’s probe of Russia’s alleged meddling in the election.”

Mueller is looking into the events surrounding the Obama administration’s infamous abstention to a anti-Israel resolution in the last weeks of his presidency, marking a low point in relations between the past president and the Jewish state.

As a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, the United States has veto power over the council’s resolutions and could have blocked the extreme anti-Israel measure. Instead, Team Obama chose to abstain and let the resolution pass. The resolution condemned Israel for “settlement”-building in disputed territories. The non-partisan Simon Wiesenthal Center ranked it the most anti-Semitic/anti-Israel incident of 2016. Moreover, the resolution declared that two of the holiest sites in Judaism – the Temple Mount and the Western Wall – are “occupied Palestinian territory.”

Knowing that Obama would probably relish the opportunity to shiv Israel one last time, Israeli officials reached out to the Trump transition team last December to see if they could pressure countries into shutting down the resolution.

The incoming President Trump took to Twitter and other social media platforms to blast the resolution. Even prominent Democratic members of Congress criticized Obama for betraying Israel at the U.N.

Now, according to the Journal’s report Wednesday, Mueller is analyzing whether Jared Kushner potentially reached out to other countries (particularly, Russia) to lobby against the resolution.

Even if it turns out that Kushner did indeed pressure foreign governments to axe the resolution, there’s nothing seemingly immoral or illegal that stands out about that alleged action. If anything, Kushner should be applauded for trying to block Obama’s militantly anti-Israel crusade.

President Trump has been in office for almost a year now, and not a single piece of evidence has surfaced to indicate that he colluded with Russia to win the election. Alarmingly, the Mueller probe has continued to move in an extra-constitutional direction.

The latest probe into Kushner’s alleged pro-Israel activity goes to show how off the rails the so-called “Trump-Russia” investigation has become.

A leading Democratic congressman settled a wrongful dismissal complaint for more than $27,000 in taxpayer funding after he allegedly fired the staffer because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances,” according to a new report.

The congressman, Michigan Rep. John Conyers, is described as a serial sexual harasser who would prey on his female staffers in sworn affidavits signed by four of his former staffers. BuzzFeed News first reported the bombshell allegations and accompanying settlement after right-wing blogger Mike Cernovich provided the website with the documents.

One former female employee filed a complaint with the Congressional Office Of Compliance in 2014, alleging that she was fired for rebuffing Conyers’ sexual advances. It was that employee who eventually received a $27,111.75 settlement in 2015, in exchange for a confidentiality agreement. The congressman did not admit to fault as part of the settlement agreement.

“In her complaint, the former employee said Conyers repeatedly asked her for sexual favors and often asked her to join him in a hotel room. On one occasion, she alleges that Conyers asked her to work out of his room for the evening, but when she arrived the congressman started talking about his sexual desires,” BuzzFeed reported. “She alleged he then told her she needed to ‘touch it,’ in reference to his penis, or find him a woman who would meet his sexual demands.”

Conyers regularly made sexual advances on female staffers and would ask them for sexual favors, according to the affidavits signed by his former staffers. “Rep. Conyers strongly postulated that the performing of personal service or favors would be looked upon favorably and lead to salary increases or promotions,” one former employee said in an affidavit.

He also allegedly abused taxpayer funds to shuttle in women with whom he had sexual relationships.

“One of my duties while working for Rep. Conyers was to keep a list of women that I assumed he was having affairs with and call them at his request and, if necessary, have them flown in using Congressional resources,” one affidavit states. Another staffer told BuzzFeed that Conyers, who is the longest-serving congressman, used taxpayer funds to fly women into see him.

The bombshell allegations come just days after it was revealed that the Congressional Office Of Compliance spent $17 million of taxpayer funding on harassment settlements, including for sexual harassment.

Some people have voiced frustration with the fact that the Museum of the Bible only represents a “Judeo-Christian” perspective and leaves out other religions Friday.

These critics say the Museum of the Bible, within walking distance from the National Mall in Washington, D.C., doesn’t reflect other religious points of view, such as an Islamic one, and also singularly focuses on American Protestantism, reports The New York Times. One professor also critiqued the museum for not telling viewers which areas in the Bible are historically accurate or not.

“There are a number of prominent omissions that make it clear that it’s not a museum of the Bible as one might imagine it from a secular perspective. They don’t do a good job of talking about whether parts of the Bible are historically accurate,” Joel S. Baden, Yale University’s professor of the Hebrew Bible, told the outlet. Baden also disagreed with the lack of representation of Islam and Mormonism in the Museum of the Bible.

The Museum of the Bible, with six floors of religious pieces, opened Saturday to the public. Described as a “must see” museum of 2017 by the Smithsonian Institution, the museum offers viewers the opportunity to see some of the earliest Bibles made in the United States, an Israeli scribe working on a Torah and parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Hobby Lobby CEO Steven Green founded the museum and set up the foundation that would fund the $500 million project.

Museum executive director Tony Zeiss said the museum was trying to educate people about an influential historical text, noting that 100 scholars added their input during the museum’s creation.

“Things are divisive, but we will not get into any of the cultural or social debates if possible. We just want to present the Bible as it is, and let people make up their own minds,” Zeiss told TheNYT.

Nor is it the various discoveries of power being abused during Obama’s administration.

It’s not just Democrat Bob Menendez and the charges of corruption and associating with underage prostitutes.

All of those would be bad enough.

Here’s another name for the parade.

Now we’ve got a Democrat not just accused or charged with a crime, but she’s actually been convicted.

What’s the crime?

She’s a fraud. Literally.

Ms. Brown, 70, served in the House of Representatives for more than two decades and was one of the first African-Americans elected to Congress from Florida. But she lost her seat in a primary election in August, just weeks after she was indicted on federal conspiracy and fraud charges.

In all, a federal jury in Jacksonville, Fla., found Ms. Brown guilty on 18 of the 22 counts in an indictment that charged her with conspiring with others to run the fraudulent charity, filing false tax returns and other crimes, according to the Justice Department. She faces a lengthy prison term. No sentencing date has been set.

Weinstein Had A “Hit List” To Suppress Harassment Claims

Just in case anything ever came about from his misdeeds, Hollywood mogul and swamp leader Harvey Weinstein, allegedly kept a “hit list” of 91 women he gave his private investigators, among others, to sort of keep them “in check” should they decide to ever come forward.

So if true and you probably already realized this, it’s not a “sex addiction” problem — he knew exactly wth he was doing to these women.

As reported by Mark Townsend for The Guardian:

The Observer has gained access to a secret hitlist of almost 100 prominent individuals targeted by Harvey Weinstein in an extraordinary attempt to discover what they knew about sexual misconduct claims against him and whether they were intending to go public.

The previously undisclosed list contains a total of 91 actors, publicists, producers, financiers and others working in the film industry, all of whom Weinstein allegedly identified as part of a strategy to prevent accusers from going public with sexual misconduct claims against him.

The names, apparently drawn up by Weinstein himself, were distributed to a team hired by the film producer to suppress claims that he had sexually harassed or assaulted numerous women.

The document was compiled in early 2017, around nine months before the storm that blew up on 5 October when the New York Times published a series of sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein.

Individuals named on the list were to be targeted by investigators who would covertly extract and accumulate information from those who might know of claims or who might come forward with allegations against the film producer. Feedback was then to be relayed to Weinstein and his lawyers.

The size of the list – 85 names appear on one document, with an addendum identifying another six individuals – appears to corroborate claims that sexual misconduct allegations against the 65-year-old were an open secret throughout Hollywood.

Prominent stars were among the first tranche of individuals on the list to testify publicly against Weinstein. Among those named were the actress Rose McGowan, who days after speaking out accused the producer of raping her. Another was Laura Madden, who told how Weinstein pestered her for massages at hotels in Dublin and London, beginning in 1991. McGowan and Madden were among the first to speak out against Weinstein last month.

A typed note on the document appears to suggest that by February 2016, Madden had already been targeted by one of Weinstein’s hired investigators. Her view of the producer is, says the note, “very bitter”.

Another name is Zelda Perkins, a London-based production assistant for Weinstein’s Miramax film company, who left the firm’s London offices on Brewer Street in Soho in 1998 after, she says, enduring years of sexual harassment by her boss. Last month Perkins revealed that she had broken a confidentiality agreement to describe alleged sexual harassment by the Hollywood producer.

Also on the list is the English actress Sophie Dix, who has described how her career trajectory was “massively cut down” after an alleged sexual assault by Weinstein in a London hotel and who was among the first to come forward.

Keystone XL pipeline clears major hurdle

Developers of the Keystone XL pipeline secured approval Monday for the pipeline to run through Nebraska, clearing a key hurdle in the years-long fight to build the project. The decision came after a rupture in TransCanada’s Keystone system spilled an estimated 210,000 gallons of oil in South Dakota last week, an incident that rankled opponents of the XL expansion.

Nebraska regulators approved plans for Keystone XL to cross the state, though the approval didn’t cover TransCanada’s preferred route through the state. The commission voted 3-2 to move the project forward. The approval comes eight months after President Trump issued a presidential permit for the $8 billion, 860 barrel per day project. Nebraska’s decision is not the last work on the project, but it is one of the last major hurdles remaining for the project.

Only the Trump administration has to issue permits for the pipeline now, though several permitting decisions — including Nebraska’s — are subject to legal challenges. TransCanada itself still has to decide whether to build the pipeline, an economic question that is far from settled.

TransCanada said in a brief statement that it is evaluating the Nebraska regulators’ decision to approve the pipeline route that the company did not favor.

“As a result of today’s decision, we will conduct a careful review of the Public Service Commission’s ruling while assessing how the decision would impact the cost and schedule of the project,” TransCanada CEO Russ Girling said in the statement.

Keystone has long been a flashpoint for anti-fossil fuel activists, who have rallied environmentalists, tribes and local landowners against the pipeline. TransCanada plans for the pipeline to transport oil from Alberta, Canada, to existing infrastructure in Nebraska, where it will then travel to refineries.

The Obama administration in 2015 blocked TransCanada’s application for a presidential permit, something the project requires because it crosses the border with Canada. That decision effectively stalled the project. But Trump revived the pipeline earlier this year, signing an executive order fast tracking its reconsideration. In March, he approved the presidential permit, kick starting a new debate over the project.

Trump often highlights his decision to revive the project as a key accomplishment of his first year in office.

Regulators in Montana and South Dakota, the two other states Keystone XL would cross, have already approved the pipeline, making Nebraska the last major backstop. The Public Service Commission held a series of hearings on the matter this year and considered more than 500,000 comments on the proposed route across the state.

“It’s been a long path to today’s approval and the Commission should be commended,” said Jack Gerard, the president of the American Petroleum Council oil industry group.

“Pipelines such as this enhance our ability to safely deliver North American energy to our world class refineries, which in turn provide the fuels and products we all rely on every day.”

Only one commissioner spoke for or against the project on Monday. Crystal Rhoades, an Omaha-area commissioner, questioned the economic impact of the pipeline on Nebraska and warned that a spill from the pipeline would impact environmentally sensitive areas of the state. She also said it could violate the rights of landowners in the state.

The commission’s decision is a legal decision subject to appeal, something opponents of the pipeline have said they will do. Developers still need to secure approval from two federal agencies, and permitting decisions in South Dakota and federally are the subject of environmentalist and tribal lawsuits.

“Regardless of the Public Service Commission’s decision today, millions of people across the country will continue to speak out and demand that the Keystone XL project never gets built,” Michael Brune, the executive director of the Sierra Club, said Monday.

“It is disappointing that the Public Service Commission sided with a foreign oil company over the interests of American communities who would be threatened by this pipeline, but we remain confident that Keystone XL will never be built.”

Thursday’s spill from a sister pipeline added a late twist to the Keystone XL saga.

TransCanada’s Keystone pipeline spilled about 210,000 gallons of oil in rural South Dakota on Thursday, with the pipeline shutting down for repair and cleanup work. Environmentalists hammered TransCanada for the spill and warned that it previewed potential spills from the larger Keystone XL project. But Nebraska law bars commissioners from considering the threat of an oil spill when permitting pipelines, because spill prevention and cleanup is a federal issue rather than a state one.

Despite the Monday approval, TransCanada still has not made a final decision to build Keystone XL.

Company executives told investors earlier this month that they would make a final investment decision in the coming months, based largely on Nebraska’s decision and on whether there is enough interest from oil companies who would be potential customers.

“I think we let those two events play out and that will give us greater visibility into our final investment decision,” Paul Miller, president of the company’s pipelines business, told investors.

“We’re quite encouraged with the results that we’ve seen.”

Pundits, legislators, and media-types all love cryptic terms. One of the favorites out in California is “ghost guns.” In recent years, the anti-gun legislators out there have been using the term to describe various kinds of firearms… but it’s a term broadly used to describe guns that lack serial numbers. Such firearms are untraceable and therefore seem to appear from nowhere, hence the “ghost gun” moniker.

A recent mass shooting in California has the authorities once again reviving the term and hand-wringing over the possibility that “ghost guns” could become a problem. Interestingly, this time, they may have a point… and it could convince some legislators to abandon their anti-gun efforts (but don’t hold your breath).

As more restrictions are placed on gun ownership, more people — and criminals — could start to manufacture their own, law enforcement experts tell ABC News.

The issue of “ghost guns” or guns without serial numbers has been thrust into the national spotlight after California authorities revealed that the man who engaged in a string of shootings earlier this week that left five dead had two firearms that he manufactured at home.

Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston told reporters in a press conference Wednesday afternoon that the two semi-automatic rifles with multi-round clips that gunman Kevin Neal was armed with were illegally manufactured at his home and were not registered.

Kevin Neal was not allowed to purchase firearms because of previous run-ins with the law and his unstable mental history, but he somehow got his hands on a few guns nonetheless. How? He made them himself.

Former FBI Agent Steve Gomez explained to ABC that this scenario could become commonplace as legislators move to make gun ownership more difficult.

“If lawmakers took steps to make the gun laws more restrictive, those unlicensed home-made firearms would be highly sought after by people and criminals who do not care to comply with the law,” Gomez told ABC.

Consider the irony, by making it more difficult to legally own guns, legislators are actually making it more difficult to track and stop gun crime.

The fundamental difference between ourselves and the left isn’t that we believe in smaller government and they don’t. Nor is it that we believe in the practical necessity of borders and they don’t. It is that we believe in a life with absolute standards… and they don’t.

Take the transgender issue for example. Ten years ago, the notion that a man should be allowed to use the women’s restroom simply on the grounds that he has “declared” himself a woman would have been an absurdity to almost everyone in this country, right and left. What we didn’t realize until recently is that the two sides believed the same thing for entirely different reasons. Conservatives have access to certain moral resources progressives lack. Most of us have at least one foot grounded in the Bible, which, despite the corrosive power of liberal churches, tendeth not to move around much on the fundamentals. Things that are Biblically wrong remain Biblically wrong — forever. Even nonreligious conservatives have a sort of visceral skepticism about change – a feeling in their bones that change is at least as likely to be for the worse as for the better. Conservatives who don’t believe in God, in other words, at least believe in not reforming what isn’t currently broken.

Progressives lack such standards to guide them. Cut off from any permanent underpinnings by a quixotic belief in change, they move as a herd guided only by their loudest members. Yesterday the herd believed that women’s rights were paramount, so any intrusion into a woman’s restroom by a male, especially a deviant one, was an outrage. But now — presto change-o! — the merely female has been outranked by the more trendy and interesting transgender, and women must shift a row toward the back of the progressive bus. For the progressive, any moral idea is merely a passing fashion — something to be discarded when last year’s victims start to get a little boring. To take a permanent stand on any issue would be to deny that we must follow our leaders down the perpetual road of progress — or, as an earlier generation of leftists put it a bit more honestly, a permanent state of revolution.

Progressives live on a kind of moral roulette wheel, ready to conform to whatever emotional imperative the ball happens to land on next. It was quite ironic that, during the 2016 elections, progressives launched a campaign to smear conservative Trump supporters as sharing one unique characteristic — a marked tendency toward authoritarianism. Really? This observation came from a leftist electorate so pliable to authority that they can believe even a person’s gender is merely a choice — if their opinion makers so decree.

I know of no one who supported Donald Trump because he was an authority figure. He wasn’t. If that was what we wanted we would have rallied behind some senior general — not behind a real estate tycoon with orange hair. Far from voting for a human master, we picked the first candidate in decades with the courage to articulate our standards — even if the man himself hadn’t always conformed to them. We will, no doubt, abandon Trump should he betray us.

We are not the people who backed Hillary Clinton, no matter how obviously crooked she was, on the grounds that, as a woman, she had a right to the presidency — at least as long as there wasn’t a candidate of color or a trendy pervert in the race. Far from being pro-authoritarian, we back those who are willing to fight for our interests and our deeply held beliefs. It is the left, not we, who grovel in cult-like groupie worship before their celebrity victim candidates du jour.

While they help themselves to a self-image of intellectual and ethical sophistication, progressives are often no more sophisticated than teenagers trying desperately to maintain their places in the “in” group. The ideal of the Christian is to live a Godly life — even in the face of humiliation, ostracism, and persecution.

The ideal of the progressive is to go with the flow. “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” We should not be in the least surprised about any of the recent scandals in Hollywood. Such events are scandals only by our standards — not by theirs. It was precisely the general notoriety and acceptance of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual appetites that protected him. If his predations had been a secret, some woman would have had the courage to come forward much sooner. Since they were not secret, anyone coming forward had to be willing to risk fighting Hollywood itself — not a man, but an entire subculture of people who accepted both the man and his behavior.

The same phenomena has produced the Teflon-like immunity of the elites to prosecution. Any prosecutor or law enforcement agent, no matter how exalted his status, understands the risk entailed by proceeding against members of the political class. When there is no higher authority to whom one can appeal, humans succumb to their own weak and venal natures. This, too, is why progressive morality is often so amazing shallow — saying the right thing rather than doing the right thing. Keeping the dream of the welfare state on life support decades beyond its demonstrable failure. It does not matter what reality is, but only what the New York Times says reality is. The illusion, not the nation, must be protected at all costs. What is virtue to a progressive but a feeling of being in sync with of the anointed herd?

As a Christian, I am compelled to see the gulf that divides our country in Christian terms. The unity of God’s people lies in our common membership in the Body of Christ. Globally, we are genuinely diverse — yet we are all one people by the extraordinary mystery of God’s saving Grace. We all are guided by His immutable will.

Collectivism, in any of its forms, is merely a sham for the Body of Christ. It is a counterfeit community lead by a group of cynical human beings who exploit a real, God-given need for belonging. Progressivism, paradoxically, fills this spiritual void by dividing its followers into an ever-expanding catalog of interest groups — often groups who really have no natural basis. There really is no such thing as a “genderqueer” community in exactly the same way there has never been such a thing a “schizophrenic” community. There is only an uneasy herd of confused, unhappy individuals who, rather than being given help and firm direction, have been given the lie of their own unique but nonexistent polities. Left to their own devices, it would be only a matter of time before progressives actively and openly courted the pedophile vote. They’ve already stood in solidarity with felon community. What standard could there be to hold them back?

Hey, Republicans! Did you enjoy Election Night last week? Get ready for a lot more nights like that as immigration turns every last corner of the country blue.

When Ed Gillespie lost in Virginia, liberals crowed about how they’re winning the war of ideas. The country has thoroughly, emphatically rejected Trumpism! Republicans, being idiots, played along, arguing only about whether Gillespie’s problem was that he didn’t embrace Trump enough or embraced him too much.

Gillespie’s campaign was fine. No cleverer arguments, community outreach or perfectly timed mailings would have changed the result. Contrary to The New York Times’ celebratory article in last Sunday’s magazine, “How the ‘Resistance’ Helped Democrats Dominate Virginia,” it wasn’t Democratic operative Kathryn Sorenson’s savvy use of Facebook, Google and Eventbrites that carried the day. “The Resistance” didn’t win.

What happened was: Democrats brought in new voters. In 1970, only one out of every 100 Virginians was foreign-born. By 2012, one in nine Virginians was foreign-born.

The foreign-born vote overwhelmingly, by about 80 percent, for Democrats. They always have and they always will — especially now that our immigration policies aggressively discriminate in favor of the poorest, least-educated, most unskilled people on Earth. They arrive in need of a LOT of government services.

According to the Pew Research Center, 75 percent of Hispanic immigrants and 55 percent of Asian immigrants support bigger government, compared to just over 40 percent of the general public. Even third-generation Hispanics support bigger government by 58 percent.

Polls show that immigrants are far more likely to support Obamacare and affirmative action than the general public, and are far less likely to support gun rights and capitalism.

It’s one thing not to mention ethnic differences in crime statistics or welfare usage to avoid hurting anyone’s feelings, but if the GOP continues to pretend to see no difference in how different groups vote — while importing millions more foreigners to vote against them — then they should get used to a lot more elections like what happened in Virginia last week.

It’s not as if Republicans are unaware of how demographics can affect elections. They certainly notice when they’re drawing congressional boundaries. We don’t see GOP congressmen saying, No, I don’t mind trading that all-white town for part of a Chicago housing project. Why should I?

Currently, everyone seems to be blaming the total disappearance of the GOP in Virginia on another demographic trend: All those federal workers living in the northern part of the state.

This is a fairy tale, like the one about Proposition 187 turning California blue, or the one about the “complacency of old money” turning Connecticut blue, or the one about a disorganized Republican Party turning Illinois blue. Pay no attention to the millions of Third-Worlders we’ve been dumping on the country!

In the past 40 years, upward of 50 million culturally backward, dirt-poor immigrants arrived in America, and state after state has gone blue, but we’re always told states are flipping to the Democrats for some reason — any reason! — other than immigration.

True, Virginia is home to 322,198 people who are either current or retired federal employees. On the other hand, there are more than 800,000 Virginians who are foreign-born — and that’s not including the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the foreign-born who arrived in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

Moreover, in Virginia, “federal employee” is not as Democratic-leaning as it sounds on account of the state’s numerous military bases. Virginia Beach, for example, the largest city in the state, has a higher percentage of federal employees in the workforce than the entire Washington, D.C., metro area. And yet, Virginia Beach still votes Republican in presidential elections and is represented by a Republican in Congress.

Almost 15 percent of Virginians speak a language other than English at home. If we double the number of Virginians who are now employed by, or have ever worked for, the federal government — and assume that none of them work on military bases — that’s still just 8 percent of the population.

The only reason Democrats want a never-ending stream of Third World immigrants is because they know immigrants will help them win elections, allowing The New York Times to write self-congratulatory editorials like this one last week: “Virginia Rejects Your Hateful Politics, Mr. Trump.”

Well, technically, millions of Third-Worlders living in Virginia rejected Trump’s “hateful politics.” But guess what? They also rejected John McCain’s pusillanimous politics and Mitt Romney’s soft-spoken politics.

They were brought in to vote for the Democrats. That’s the real job immigrants are doing that Americans just won’t do.

As Democratic consultant Patrick Reddy wrote for the Roper Center 20 years ago, the 1965 Immigration Act, bringing in “a wave of immigration from the Third World,” will go down in history as “the Kennedy family’s greatest gift to the Democratic Party.”

There isn’t much time on the clock before it’s lights-out for the GOP. And all Republicans can think to do is argue about how quickly to grant amnesty to so-called “Dreamers” and give the Democrats another 30 million voters.

Here is the point. Abandoning God’s design for fulfilling human sexual expression, one man with one woman for life in holy marriage, is doomed to fail. We don’t break God’s law. Sooner or later, we break ourselves upon it.

President Donald Trump sent the mainstream media into a frenzy on Monday when he referred to Sen. Elizabeth Warren as “Pocahontas” during a White House ceremony honoring a group of Native American code talkers who served during World War II.

“I know he uses ‘Pocahontas’ sometimes with Elizabeth Warren,” Porreco said.

“He said, ‘Well does that offend you when I use that?’’ she added. “And I told him no, it doesn’t offend me.”

“If Pocahontas were alive today, she would be very proud of President Trump,” Porreco said. “Just like Pocahontas was a heroine, Donald Trump is going to be our hero.”

“Do I think Pocahontas would be a fan of Trump? Oh no,” Bedard said. “Misogyny and bullying and name-calling at its finest. It is not intelligent discourse.”

“This was supposed to be an event to honor heroes, people who put it all on the line for our country,” Warren said, according to Real Clear Politics.

“It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States can’t even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without throwing out a racial slur,” she added.

The issue surrounding Warren’s claims that she is Native American first arose during her 2012 Senate run.

At least liberals are finally telling the truth about Bill Clinton — and just 20 years after it mattered! Of course, considering it took the Democratic Party a century to discover that slavery was wrong, two decades is lightning speed for these moral paragons.

What didn’t matter: The nature of the charge, credibility of the accuser, use of force, contemporaneous witnesses, photographic evidence, DNA evidence …

What mattered: Who’s the accused?

The Trump administration has a new opportunity to target the funding of Planned Parenthood and other groups that provide abortions.

“We anticipate some attempt to undercut the program,” she said.

“It might be next door, it might be across town. But virtually all of these clinics have affiliated abortion providers and they refer over. The best atmosphere for women would be one free of that kind of pressure.”

The amount of money at stake is significant.

“The administration has shown its cards to some degree in its opposition to abortion and providers who offer or are affiliated with abortion.”

That’s the argument for resurrecting Reagan-era restrictions requiring a physical and financial separation between Title X projects and abortion services, including separate waiting and examination rooms, separate staff and separate accounting records.

“That’s been a really big concern I think in the pro-life community,” said Melanie Israel, a research association at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“Ultimately, money is fungible, and at the end of the day, those regulations were really important to make sure there was truly some separation there.”

“We think the administration should be interested in ensuring that taxpayer dollars aren’t subsidizing abortion entities,” said David Christensen, vice president of government affairs at the Family Research Council.

“Doing this would not prevent organizations like Planned Parenthood necessarily from getting Title X funds. It would mean though that the Title X family planning program would have to be physically and financially separate from an organization’s abortion activities.”

“Any attempt to undermine this program or the providers or women’s access to affordable care would be a huge setback and would definitely impact these women in these communities and represents a really unacceptable disruption of the program.”
