WHY DOES ISIS BEHEAD PEOPLE? Because Mohammed Did

Those who so zealously reminded us–immediately following the beheading of American journalist James Foley–that ISIS “speaks for no religion” are propagating a lie spawned in the bowels of hell.

In fact, ISIS not only speaks for a particular religion (Islam)–but it also mimics every act of brutality and truculence perpetrated by its founder, the Prophet Mohammed.

From subjugating and raping women, to beheading scores of non-Muslims (including infants)–ISIS is simply following the sadistically bloody paradigm set by the prophet.

(So bloody, in fact, that Mohammed was recognized as one of the most violent figures of the 7th century.)

Islamic historians tell us that in 627 AD Mohammed beheaded over 700 men (and boys) of the Qurayza tribe in Medina, Arabia. By committing this act of barbarism–the prophet was able to accomplish his long stated goal of wiping the ancient tribe “off the map.”

The Koran (ISIS’ playbook) contains the following passage: “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks (Sura 47:4).

This, of course, is a direct diktat to behead all those who reject “the way of the prophet.”

(And no one understands the diktats of the Koran better than ISIS’ supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi who, by the way– holds a PHD in Islamic Studies.)

The ISIS “speaks for no religion” crowd is, without question, a clear and present danger.

By spreading the aforementioned lie, they close off any and all serious debate about an ideology that commands its adherents to behead all “unbelievers.”

And with the ever increasing flow of Muslim immigration to our shores (thank you State Department), this presents a serious national security risk.

In the final analysis, America’s very survival depends on its outright rejection of the hellish and deadly lie that Islam is a “religion of peace.” It must accept the grim reality that ISIS beheads people because Mohammed did.

Yeah, that’s right: ISIS beheads people because ISLAM’S founder/prophet did. Now get over it.

As the House Select Committee on Benghazi prepares for its first hearing this week, a former State Department diplomat is coming forward with a startling allegation: Hillary Clinton confidants were part of an operation to “separate” damaging documents before they were turned over to the Accountability Review Board investigating security lapses surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

According to former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, the after-hours session took place over a weekend in a basement operations-type center at State Department headquarters in Washington, D.C. This is the first time Maxwell has publicly come forward with the story.

At the time, Maxwell was a leader in the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, which was charged with collecting emails and documents relevant to the Benghazi probe.

“I was not invited to that after-hours endeavor, but I heard about it and decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon,” Maxwell says.

He didn’t know it then, but Maxwell would ultimately become one of four State Department officials singled out for discipline—he says scapegoated—then later cleared for devastating security lapses leading up to the attacks. Four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were murdered during the Benghazi attacks.

‘Basement Operation’

Maxwell says the weekend document session was held in the basement of the State Department’s Foggy Bottom headquarters in a room underneath the “jogger’s entrance.” He describes it as a large space, outfitted with computers and big screen monitors, intended for emergency planning, and with small offices on the periphery.

When he arrived, Maxwell says he observed boxes and stacks of documents. He says a State Department office director, whom Maxwell described as close to Clinton’s top advisers, was there. Though the office director technically worked for him, Maxwell says he wasn’t consulted about her weekend assignment.

“She told me, ‘Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light,’” says Maxwell. He says “seventh floor” was State Department shorthand for then-Secretary of State Clinton and her principal advisers.

“I asked her, ‘But isn’t that unethical?’ She responded, ‘Ray, those are our orders.’ ”

A few minutes after he arrived, Maxwell says, in walked two high-ranking State Department officials.

In an interview Monday morning on Fox News, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, named the two Hillary Clinton confidants who allegedly were present: One was Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s chief of staff and a former White House counsel who defended President Bill Clinton during his impeachment trial. The other, Chaffetz said, was Deputy Chief of Staff Jake Sullivan, who previously worked on Hillary Clinton’s and then Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns.

“When Cheryl saw me, she snapped, ‘Who are you?’” Maxwell says. “Jake explained, ‘That’s Ray Maxwell, an NEA deputy assistant secretary.’ She conceded, ‘Well, OK.’”

Maxwell says the two officials, close confidants of Clinton, appeared to check in on the operation and soon left.

Maxwell says after Mills and Sullivan arrived, he, the office director and an intern moved into a small office where they looked through some papers. Maxwell says his stack included pre-attack telegrams and cables between the U.S. embassy in Tripoli and State Department headquarters. After a short time, Maxwell says he decided to leave.

“I didn’t feel good about it,” he says.

We contacted Mills and Sullivan to ask about the allegations and the purpose of the described separation of documents, but they did not return calls or emails. We reached out to Clinton, who declined an interview request and offered no comment. A State Department spokesman told us it would have been impossible for anybody outside the Accountability Review Board (ARB) to control the flow of information because the board cultivated so many sources.

‘Unfettered Access’?

When the ARB issued its call for documents in early October 2012, just weeks after the Benghazi attacks, the executive directorate of the State Department’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs was put in charge of collecting all emails and relevant material. It was gathered, boxed and—Maxwell says—ended up in the basement room prior to being turned over.

In May 2013, when critics questioned the ARB’s investigation as not thorough enough, co-chairmen Ambassador Thomas Pickering and Adm. Mike Mullen responded that “we had unfettered access to everyone and everything including all the documentation we needed.”

Maxwell says when he heard that statement, he couldn’t help but wonder if the ARB—perhaps unknowingly—had received from his bureau a scrubbed set of documents with the most damaging material missing.

Maxwell also criticizes the ARB as “anything but independent,” pointing to Mullen’s admission in congressional testimony that he called Mills to give her inside advice after the ARB interviewed a potential congressional witness.

In an interview in September 2013, Pickering told me that he would not have done what Mullen did. But both co-chairmen strongly defend their probe as “fiercely independent.”

Maxwell also criticizes the ARB for failing to interview key people at the White House, State Department and the CIA, including not only Clinton but Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides, who managed department resources in Libya; Assistant Secretary of State for Political Military Affairs Andrew Shapiro; and White House National Security Council Director for Libya Ben Fishman.

“The ARB inquiry was, at best, a shoddily executed attempt at damage control, both in Foggy Bottom and on Capitol Hill,” Maxwell says. He views the after-hours operation he witnessed in the State Department basement as “an exercise in misdirection.”

Sullivan did not respond to emails or to messages sent to him through his current teaching job at Yale Law School. Mills did not respond to a message passed to her through Black Rock, a major global investment firm where she is on the board of directors. Clinton’s press officer ultimately referred us to the State Department, though none of the three currently works there.

State Department Response

A State Department spokesman, Alec Gerlach, calls the implication that documents were withheld “totally without merit.” Gerlach says: “The range of sources that the ARB’s investigation drew on would have made it impossible for anyone outside of the ARB to control its access to information.”

“The allegations are as serious as it gets,” says one lawmaker of the alleged Benghazi document review.

Gerlach says the State Department instructed all employees to cooperate “fully and promptly” with the ARB, which invited anyone with relevant information to contact the board directly.

“So individuals with information were reaching out proactively to the board. And, the ARB was also directly engaged with individuals and the [State] Department’s bureaus and offices to request information and pull on whichever threads it chose to,” Gerlach says.

Benghazi Select Committee

Maxwell says he has been interviewed privately by several members of Congress in recent months, including Chaffetz, a member of the House Oversight Committee, and Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

When reached for comment, Chaffetz told me that Maxwell’s allegations “go to the heart of the integrity of the State Department.”

“The allegations are as serious as it gets, and it’s something we have obviously followed up and pursued,” Chaffetz says. “I’m 100 percent confident the Benghazi Select Committee is going to dive deep on that issue.”

Former Obama Supporter

Maxwell, 58, strongly supported President Barack Obama and personally contributed to his presidential campaign. But post-Benghazi, he has soured on both Obama and Clinton, saying he had nothing to do with security and was sacrificed as a scapegoat while higher-up officials directly responsible escaped discipline.

Maxwell spent a year on paid administrative leave with no official charge ever levied against him. Ultimately, the State Department cleared Maxwell of wrongdoing and reinstated him. He retired a short time later, in November 2013.

Maxwell worked in foreign service for 21 years as the well-respected deputy assistant secretary for Maghreb Affairs in the Near East Bureau and is a former chief of staff to the ambassador in Baghdad. Fluent in Portuguese, Maxwell is a Navy “mustanger,” which means he successfully made the leap from the enlisted ranks to commissioned officer.

Maxwell also is a prolific poet. While on administrative leave, he published poems online: allegories hinting at his post-Benghazi observations and experiences.

A poem entitled “Invitation” refers to his placement on leave in December 2012: “The Queen’s Henchmen / request the pleasure of your company / at a Lynching — / to be held / at 23rd and C Streets NW [State Dept. building] / on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 / just past sunset. / Dress: Formal, Masks and Hoods — / the four being lynched / must never know the identities/ of their executioners, or what/ whose sin required their sacrifice./ A blood sacrifice — / to divert the hounds- / to appease the gods — / to cleanse our filth and /satisfy our guilty consciences…”

In another poem called “Trapped in a purgatory of their own deceit,” Maxwell wrote: “The web of lies they weave / gets tighter and tighter / in its deceit / until it bottoms out — / at a very low frequency — / and implodes…Yet all the while, / the more they talk, / the more they lie, / and the deeper down the hole they go… Just wait…/ just wait and feed them the rope.”

Several weeks after he was placed on leave with no formal accusations, Maxwell made an appointment to address his status with a State Department ombudsman.

“She told me, ‘You are taking this all too personally, Raymond. It is not about you,’ ” Maxwell recalls.

“I told her that ‘My name is on TV and I’m on administrative leave, it seems like it’s about me.’ Then she said, ‘You’re not harmed, you’re still getting paid. Don’t watch TV. Take your wife on a cruise. It’s not about you; it’s about Hillary and 2016.’ ”

Since retiring from the State Department, Maxwell has obtained a master’s degree in library information science.

The Pledge of Allegiance is Political?

Now, I have heard it all! CBS Sports banned a commercial with a little girl reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. The ad promoted something very American, “The Rodeo,” around September 11^th. The little girl in the commercial was the granddaughter of the owner of the company running the ad. He though it was a really cool idea.

Well, the PC police at CBS Sports had other ideas. At first I thought “here we go again.” It has the words “under God” and we don’t want to offend the 20% of the country who doesn’t believe in God and we certainly don’t want them to feel left out. But that wasn’t the problem. Then I thought they must have been tight on time and a 15-second Pledge would have caused them to have to bump one of those commercials with a hamburger-eating, sauce-dripping, car-washing, bikini-clad woman who uses the top part of her bikini to wipe off the BBQ sauce. Nope. That wasn’t what happened either. OK, then WHAT?

The knuckleheads at CBS Sports decided that it was too political. Yup, the Pledge of Allegiance is too political. They won’t return any news organization’s phone calls. They’re CBS. Why should they?

This is just another example of an ungrateful company not understanding what the Pledge actually means!

For those of you who may need a refresher, the Pledge simply means that as Americans we will stand up for the American way of life, it’s freedoms and it’s opportunities and it’s liberties. Hey CBS! Those are the same ones that you used to build your companies! The American tax laws that you take advantage of and the security you feel, in most cases, going to other countries knowing that, as Americans, your company and employees have the United States of America’s resources to protect you!

Unlike some of those 3^rd world nations who dictate what news gets broadcast and when and who you hire and fire and if they decide you’re not so good at it they simply take it away from you, you have freedoms here. Go ahead and try to appeal to that 3rd world country’s supreme court. That’d be a joke!

How would you like it if our military refused to take the Pledge and only fought if and when they felt like it and for whatever cause they felt was worthy? With no allegiance to a country, there’s no real reason to fight or uphold its laws.

CBS Sports you are an embarrassment. You have spit in the face of many that came before us to fight and died protecting what the flag and the Pledge represents.

This madness is happening all around the country. I can count no less than 5 recent stories on City Councils that refused to say the Pledge because “there wasn’t enough time.” And even more stories on school districts that have decided reciting the Pledge “once in a while” is good enough.

And what the heck is political about the Pledge? Does it only apply to Republicans? Or only Democrats? Maybe just the decline-to-state or Libertarian or Green Party? I know the Communist Socialist Democrat Party of America finds it offensive. Who cares! If you don’t like it, shut up and sit down because that’s the freedom afforded you the Pledge and by those who came before you who fought and died for your right to disagree without being taken out back and being beheaded.

The Pledge should be recited at the beginning of every major event to remind us of the men and women that have come before us, fought and died (yes I am repeating myself on purpose because some of you need it that way). They gave us the freedom to watch a sports game in the stadium or on TV or listen on the radio. They gave us the freedom to put down our government leaders without fear of being killed, to be able to sit down during the Pledge or National Anthem, all without fear of imprisonment. That’s real freedom!

Recently the curator of the 9/11 museum didn’t want to post the picture of the firemen putting the American flag back up on the Twin Tower rubble at the time of the massacre. Shame on him. Most Americans lost their lives that day, American civilians, the buildings on American soil by a group that declared war on America and it’s people and the reason he didn’t want to put it up was that it was too American. In his statement he justified his stance by saying, “I really believe that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently.”

So hide your flags, your colors, and anything patriotic and according to this well-educated loon, we will all be more American.

If you have to watch CBS Sports, please at let them know of your displeasure with their decision.

Don’t be a do nothing.

Jihadi John Beheads British National

David Cameron has vowed to bring the killers of aid worker David Haines to justice as their second British hostage was today revealed as 47-year-old Alan Henning.

The British Islamic State militant nicknamed ‘Jihadi John’ warned the taxi driver, from Greater Manchester, would be the next person to die after father-of-two Mr Haines was beheaded in a disturbing video.

Mr Henning, nicknamed Gadget by colleagues who praised his sense of humour, was also an aid worker and is believed to have been working for a Muslim charity in a refugee camp.

He had felt a ‘pull’ to return after a previous visit and was filmed packing an aid convoy containing nappies and tinned food in Salford before he left for his latest mission.

The development came as David Cameron said today that people will be ‘sickened’ that the man who killed Mr Haines could be from Britain.

‘Dereliction of duty’: Obama’s worst scandal

WASHINGTON – For a highly accomplished lawyer, one who notched significant victories in the war on terror as a federal prosecutor, Andrew McCarthy can make a compelling case in plain English without resorting to legalese.

And when it comes to Benghazi, his case against the Obama administration boils down to this: It is the president’s worst scandal because it was a dereliction of duty, one that led to the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens.

McCarthy is not alone in his assessment of the gravity of the scandal.

On the two-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2012, attack, Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, told an Oklahoma radio station he believed the Obama administration’s Benghazi cover-up would become the biggest scandal in U.S. history.

McCarthy is a New York Times bestselling author, Fox News analyst, contributing editor at National Review and a former adviser to the deputy secretary of defense. As chief assistant U.S. attorney in New York, he successfully prosecuted the perpetrators of the first World Trade Center bombing.

He put the case against the administration’s handling of Benghazi in terms that are clear and simple but also comprehensive, and in a way the jury in the court of public opinion may find compelling.

He told WND, “To me, the most offensive of the president’s derelictions involves Benghazi,” which, he said, goes back to the war on Libya when, “the president really initiated, unprovoked, a war on a regime that was then being represented by our government as a key American counter-terrorism ally.”

That error was compounded, McCarthy stated, because the administration “switched sides” in a way that inevitably empowered the jihadis in Eastern Libya, about whom Gadhafi was actually giving the U.S. intelligence.

“They follow up that with a really shocking failure to provide security for Americans who, for some reason, still not explained, are assigned to Benghazi, which is one of the most dangerous places on the planet for Americans,” he observed.

Following that, McCarthy noted, as the jihadis continued to hit Western targets and other countries removed their diplomatic personnel, “we not only leave our people in, but we reduce security. That, inevitably, leads to the September 11, 2012, attack, which is an act of war in which our ambassador is killed. ”

“The enemy, who we are at war with already, attacks an American installation and the administration responds to that with this ridiculous story about how it was generated by an anti-Muslim video under circumstances where it’s clear that they knew it was a terrorist attack.”

Inhofe emphatically drove that point home, saying four key members of the administration – former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, CIA Director John Brennan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey and National Intelligence Director James Clapper – had said the proof that the attack on the consulate was a planned, terrorist operation was “unequivocal.”

“All four of them used the word ‘unequivocal,’” the senator insisted. “It was unequivocal, on that day we knew that it was an organized, terrorist attack.”

“The president,” insisted the senator, “had all of that knowledge and deliberately lied to the American people for one reason: It was right before his re-election. He wanted the American people to think there was not organized activity in the Middle East.”

“So I’m glad that they’re finally having the hearings,” he said, referring to the Select Committee on Benghazi chaired by Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., due to begin Wednesday.

WND asked McCarthy if a dereliction of duty that caused the loss of life would be considered an impeachable offense.

“Yes, dereliction of duty is one of the more profound impeachable offenses,” he succinctly replied.

The former federal prosecutor used both his legal acumen and knowledge of history to explain why that was the case.

“There’s a common misconception that ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ means criminal offenses like we find in the penal code, like I used to have to try to enforce when I was a federal prosecutor,” he said.

“But, what the framers meant by high crimes and misdemeanors, which was a British term of art, was gross maladministration of the government. And it entails not only things which would be indictable offenses, but a broad range of things.

“It’s actually much more like military justice concept where dereliction of duty, failure to follow an oath, and the like, are pretty straight-forward impeachable offenses. I think it’s unfortunate that people think a president has to be indictable before he is removable.”

McCarthy detailed that contention in his recent book, “Faithless Execution: Building the Political Case for Obama’s Impeachment.”

In an interview last week, he told WND there is no question about Obama’ lawlessness. But, as he outlines in the book, it is not feasible to impeach the president without public support.

That public support might grow with an increasing stream of new revelations about Benghazi, as, even two years after the attack, evidence is quickly mounting to support McCarthy’s assertion there was a dereliction of duty.

Just last week, three survivors of the Benghazi attack, members of a security team at the secret CIA annex, told Fox News a top CIA official prevented them from responding to the attack at the compound, a mile away, even though they were getting calls from State Department employees begging for help.

Thirty minutes later, the team defied orders and went to the compound, but it was too late.

They believed the delay cost the lives of Ambassador Stevens and U.S. Foreign Service officer Sean Smith.

The team members said they also requested air support, but it never arrived.

Additionally, the government watchdog group Judicial Watch has just revealed it has obtained documents it said show the State Department was warned nearly three months before the attack the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi was not only unsafe, it was likely a death trap.

Using a Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, lawsuit to obtain the documents, Judicial Watch said it found top State Department officials were explicitly warned that security guards were abandoning their posts “out of fear of their safety.”

Furthermore, the groups said the documents also warned that an explosion outside the compound wall had “created a fear factor when it came to working the night shift.”

The documents showed Department of State Contract Specialist Neal Kern was warned that the number of local security guards leaving their posts had put the U.S. Benghazi Mission at risk.

Judicial Watch noted that two months before the attack Ambassador Stevens himself requested more help but the request was refused by both the Departments of State and Defense.

The group also pointed out how Chris Hicks, the former deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, told the Wall Street Journal almost two years ago how security personnel had dropped from 30 in July 2012 to only 11 diplomatic security agents under Steven’s authority on the night of the attack.

Judicial Watch also said “additional emails confirmed that in the months leading up to the terrorist attack, State Department officials were repeatedly informed of the Benghazi security staffing problems.”

It also found “the State Department’s local militia ‘security’ feared for their own safety and wouldn’t even show up to provide necessary protection.”

Accusations of State Department responsibility for the deaths at Benghazi, and dereliction of duty on the part of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were detailed last week with the release of investigative journalist Aaron Klein’s new work from WND Books, “The REAL Benghazi Story: What the White House Doesn’t Want You to Know.”

Klein said Clinton misled the public about her role in helping to secure the U.S. Special Mission in Benghazi and may have even deceived lawmakers during her public testimony probing the attacks.

The author asked: “[By signing the waivers,] did Clinton know she was approving a woefully unprotected compound? If not then at the very least she is guilty of dereliction of duty and the diplomatic equivalent of criminal negligence.”

Also said to be revealed in the book:

Clinton, together with then-CIA Director David H. Petraeus, were the architects of a plan to arm the Libyan and Syrian rebels.

Public sources in a systematic connect-the-dots exercise indicate both the U.S. mission and the nearby CIA annex in Benghazi were involved in coordinating U.S. aid transfers to rebels in the Middle East, with particular emphasis on shipping weapons to jihadis fighting the regime of Bashar al-Assad of Syria.

The compound itself was deliberately set up with minimal security so as not to attract attention to what the author reports were secretive activities taking place inside the mission, activities for which Clinton herself was a central player.

Clinton’s claim that the intelligence community believed the attacks were a spontaneous protest in response to a “hateful video” is called into question by numerous revelations.

Clinton placed the blame for the controversial talking points squarely with the CIA without mentioning the State Department contributed to the manufacturing of the points.

Clinton wrongly wrote that the closest U.S. Special Forces that could have responded to the attacks were “standing by in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, but they would take several hours to muster and were more than five thousand miles away.”

Klein notes it has been confirmed Special Forces known as C-110, or the EUCOM CIF, were on a training mission in Croatia the night of the attack. The distance between Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, and Benghazi is about 925 miles. The C-110 is a rapid-response team that exists for emergencies like terrorist attacks against U.S. embassies abroad.

Clinton’s assertion “no one in the State Department, the intelligence community, any other agency, ever recommended that we close Benghazi. We were clear-eyed about the threats and the dangers as they were developing in eastern Libya and in Benghazi” was contradicted by her top deputies, including officials known to be close to her who were responsible for some major denials of security at the compound, such as Undersecretary Patrick Kennedy, who cancelled the use in Tripoli of a DC-3 aircraft that could have aided in the evacuation of the Benghazi victims.

Kennedy also denied permission to build guard towers at the Benghazi mission and approved the withdrawal of a security support team, or SST, that special U.S. forces specifically maintained for counter-attacks on U.S. embassies or threats against diplomatic personnel.

Clinton’s contention she was not informed of the general nature of security at the Benghazi facility, even though she was known to have taken a particular interest in the compound.

Clinton reportedly called for the compound to be converted into a permanent mission before a scheduled trip to Libya in December 2012 that eventually was canceled. Clinton failed to mention Stevens may have gone to Benghazi for a project that she specifically requested, what Hicks called Clinton’s wish to convert the shanty complex into a permanent mission in a symbol of the new Libya, so she could announce the establishment of a permanent U.S. State Department facility during her planned visit there in December 2012.

September 11, 2001 was just 13 years ago. College freshmen were between the ages of five and six, juniors and seniors in college would have been nine or ten. Regardless, the events on that day are such that should not go unremembered, not discussed or untaught. After all, America was attacked on our own soil. Islamic terrorists brought the fight to our door.

Yet, to watch this video of college students asked about the significance of that date, only six out of 30 knew the answer. But 29 of them could name a Hollywood star whose nude photos were leaked recently.

The Young America’s Foundation visited the George Washington University campus in Washington, D.C., a city that was one of the targets on that tragic day, to ask students about current events. What was discovered was that rather be knowledgeable about important things happening in our world, they were overwhelmingly clueless.

In addition to their inability to state the significance of 9/11, few could identify who ISIS is or name one of the Americans who were recently beheaded by the group. In fact, one male student had not even heard that these two beheadings happened. At least he looked truly shaken up and distraught, near the point of vomiting, when he learned the news, weeks later, but perhaps he should try watching a little FOX News and less Bachelor in Paradise.

As you watch this video, ask yourself if the Department of Education, formed under the then worst president ever, Democrat Jimmy Carter, has improved the education of our children in this country or simply subjected them to progressive propaganda and a type of ignorance that is on full display.

On Friday, TPNN’s Tim Constantine spoke with former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton about President Obama’s foreign policy or, more specifically, his lack thereof.

The always-candid Bolton explained that not only is President Obama wrong on the issue of ISIS and the threat they pose to the United States, but that his entire foreign policy is predicated upon Obama’s lack of belief in America’s right to serve as a superpower.

“I think this is where the president’s ideology comes into play. He believes that the United States has historically been too strong, too assertive, too demanding, too intrusive- in fact, over the years, too successful and that the world will be a safer and more secure place if the united Stated is less pushy.

He said a couple weeks ago, and it caused quite a stir, something he had said in his State of the Union message in January. He said long-term deployment of American troops can contribute to extremism, which is the word he uses for ‘terrorism’ because he often doesn’t like to use that.

Now, let’s examine that for a minute: he’s saying that American troops being deployed overseas causes terrorism. So, in his view, obviously, if you have fewer troops, there will be less terrorism. I think that’s like looking at the world through the wrong end of a telescope and it’s historically false. How many terrorists did our long-term deployment inspire in Germany? South Korea? In Japan? But that’s the president’s view. But now, confronted with the awful possibility of having to deploy American troops in Iraq, he’s deploying a few, but they’re not boots on the ground, the Secretary of State says that it’s not war, they call it ‘counterterrorism,’ even though ISIS… is deploying conventional military forces and that’s how they defeated the Iraqi army near Mosul. And it’s a very different circumstance than the kind of counterterrorism we’ve seen before.

I think the president has gone beyond schizophrenic… multiple personalities, that’s what he’s got going on inside his head.”

James Foley family: Obama officials vowed criminal charges if we paid son’s ransom

The mother and brother of James Foley — one of the U.S. journalists beheaded by the Islamic State — claim Obama administration officials threatened to charge them with criminal counts if they tried to pay the ransom demanded by the terrorists.

“We were told that several times and we took it as a threat and it was appalling,” Foley’s mother Diane told ABC News.

She said the warnings emanated from the White House’s National Security Council — specifically, from a highly decorated military officer who serves on the council’s staff.

“Three times he intimidated us with that message,” she told ABC News. “We were horrified he would say that. He just told us we would be prosecuted. We knew we had to save our son. We had to try.”

She’s not alone in her outrage at the reported statement.

“It was an utterly idiotic thing to do that came across as if he had the compassion of an anvil,” said one former official who’s now advising the Foley family, ABC News reported. And another official who’s currently serving in the government said similar: “He had no business speaking about legal issues he was unqualified to discuss,” ABC News said.

Meanwhile, Foley’s brother, Michael, said he was threatened with prosecution by a State Department official, but said that he didn’t pay the threat much mind.

He said he told the threatening official: Go ahead — no family members of U.S. hostages have ever been indicted for trying to free their loved ones, ABC News reported.

A spokeswoman for the NSC said that the family of Foley had been told that U.S. laws ban them from financing terrorism — but that nobody threatened them with prosecution if they paid a ransom.

“Without getting into the details of our private discussions with families, the law is clear that ransom payments to designated individuals or entities, such as ISIL, are prohibited. It is also a matter of longstanding policy that the U.S. does not grant concessions to hostage takers,” NSC spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden told ABC News. “Doing so would only put more Americans at risk … That is what we convey public and what we convey privately.”

Maxine Waters: Americans are Bigots for Opposing Sharia Law

I confess I’ve been called a bigot for lots of things simply because I have a Christian worldview. I’ve been called it by atheists, homosexuals and Islamists, but they always use that because they simply cannot defend their positions, and so, they resort to name calling. It shouldn’t surprise anyone then that socialist Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) spoke at an Islamic Society of Orange County town hall meeting on the issue of the Constitution and Sharia law.

Keep in mind that this town hall meeting took place in 2012, but her words are still relevant today because she and others like her continue to think like this. Also keep in mind that the Islamic Society of Orange County claims to be a “non-political organization.”

“Over the last year, and due to the focus of House Republicans on so-called ‘Muslim radicalization,’ we have seen politicians and pundits attacking the Islamic faith as a security threat to the United States,” she said. “Across the country, these people are exploiting fear and trying to convince state legislatures that the state adoption of Sharia tenants is the strategy extremists are using to transform the United States into an Islamic country.”

Wow! There is far too much in just that one statement that is easily demonstrated to be true. First, as I always point out, there is no “radical Islam,” only Islam. Republicans need to get that right. Second, it wasn’t Republicans who tweeted this out:

No, my friends, that is from a Democrat Islamic imam and former DHS advisor to Barack Hussein Obama, Mohamed Elibiary. Elibiary is championed by those Waters calls “extremists,” yet we know they are simply those that follow the teachings of Islam found in the Qur’an.

As for the strategy of adopting Sharia, well let’s be clear, Sharia is the law in Islam. It applies to Islamists as well as the infidels (at least in the Islamists minds). It is not championed by extremists, but Islamists. In fact, Islam is very optimistic in its view of dominating the world, just as Christians view the power of the gospel to do the same thing. Therefore, they seek to gain ground in every country they dwell in for the sake of Allah. This means a transformation of every country into an Islamic country.

As for the claim of strategy, one need only look to the goals of the Muslim Brotherhood to determine whether this is a strategy or a conspiracy theory. I’ll go with what the Muslim Brotherhood has written concerning this issue. Mrs. Waters is either ignorant (without excuse) or she is complicit. In either case, this woman is not fit to hold office.

She then declared that, at the time, at least thirteen states were looking to adopt legislation forbidding Sharia. What is wrong with that? We have a US Constitution. That’s the law in the US. Each State has a Constitution and as far as I know, not one of them is Sharia compliant. But what happens when states try and push forward this legislation? You guessed it, the Islamists and their socialist and communist friends come out of the woodwork to try and beat it down. Just look at Oklahoma, where the federal government tried to force them to overturn anti-Sharia law and to pay Islamists $303,333!

After speaking about Newt Gingrich’s call for Sharia not to be recognized by any court in the United States, she smugly declared that she doesn’t mind calling names and telling it like it is, but you will find absolutely no mention in her pre-written speech about the Muslim Brotherhood’s goals, will you?

In fact, the very document I reference speaks of:

Establishing an effective and stable Islamic Movement led by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Adopting Muslims’ causes domestically and globally.
Expanding the observant Muslim base.
Unifying and directing Muslims’ efforts.
Presenting Islam as a civilization alternative
Supporting the establishment of the global Islamic State wherever it is.

Hmmm, global Islamic State, eh? I’m pretty sure Barack Obama knew about these goals before his speech the other night when he deceptively declared that the Islamic State was neither Islamic nor a state. But I digress.

Islam means to change the very culture you live in and the laws you live under America. If you have any doubts, understand that a current imam at the Islamic Society of Orange County and former president of the Islamic Society of North America, Muzammil H. Siddiqi, issued this fatwa on Islamonline.net (the link has now dead, but did find it in the web archives here).

“It is true that Islam stands for the sovereignty of Allah the Almighty and Allah’s rules are not limited to the acts of worship, they also include social, economic and political matters. By participating in a non-Islamic system, one cannot rule by that which Allah has commanded. But things do not change overnight. Changes come through patience, wisdom and hard work. I believe that as Muslims, we should participate in the system to safeguard our interests and try to bring gradual change for the right cause, the cause of truth and justice. We must not forget that Allah’s rules have to be established in all lands, and all our efforts should lead to that direction.” (emphasis mine)

Our land was established on the teachings of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, not the Qur’an, but Islamists are telling us their goal is to transform not just the US, but all lands into Islamic lands.

While she does state that national security must not target or single out anyone individually with techniques that focus on racial profiling, she claims to increase understanding and engagement. However, Islam is not a race. It’s an ideology. She attempts to do what Democrats always do and that is the same thing the homosexuals do: Equate a choice with a person’s skin color. To that end, she supported HR3618, which was a horrible piece of legislation that was thankfully not enacted.

Waters is right that we should not hold the entire Muslim community at fault for the violent acts of a few. The reality is that we have barely heard a peep from the Muslim community about terrorist attacks. In fact, in most cases, Muslims for the most part seem to be supporting them as evidenced in pro-Palestinian marches around the world, including in the US like this one here. However, every practicing Muslim holds to the Qur’an as the Word of God and as such, they have some explaining to do regarding what it teaches… usually that ends in deception rather than truth.

She then went on to quote the Southern Poverty Law Center, who claims that “hate groups” are at an all-time high. It’s funny that they don’t list themselves as a hate group. Since they failed to do so, I’ll just add them to my list of hate groups. But Waters went on to say the “radical right” terrorism was growing. As of yet, I haven’t seen them fly planes into buildings or behead their enemies.

“RADICAL RIGHT TERRORISM?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?”

One realizes that violence can erupt from various people. We are fallen and sinful. Of that, there is no question, but when a self-professed Christian engages in some act of random violence that is not self-defense or the defense of someone else, do they get shouted down? Absolutely. And why is that? It’s because they go against the teachings of Scripture. In Islam, that’s not the case, as has been demonstrated over and over.

While Waters quotes statistics of some in the Muslim community giving aid to stopping terrorist attacks and points out that across all ideologies there have been a number of terrorist attacks that have been thwarted. Again, one has to answer the question of the source of terrorism in those ideologies. In the case of Islam, it is their foundation, the Qur’an.

Though she claims there shouldn’t be racial profiling, she doesn’t say anything about mothers having their rights violated at the airports or grandmothers being held as a terrorist when buying a car that are supposed to be protected by the Fourth Amendment. She doesn’t raise the issue that the Islamic Society of North America is attacking your right to keep and bear arms that are also protected under the Second Amendment, does she? She doesn’t bring up the fact that federal attorneys, under Attorney General Eric Holder, have threatened you with fines and imprisonment if you speak out negatively about Islam, does she? No, she does not, because that would go against her assertions.

In conclusion, Waters continues to think America is a democracy when America is a Republic, and it is that very concept, if people keep advancing it, that enables those such as the Muslim Brotherhood and all their front groups, including ISNA, to advance their agenda. Keep that in mind America as you hold up the banner of Christ and advance the law, which is the Constitution, in our Republic.

Four Men in Two Cities Killed in Acts of Islamic Jihad; Media, Obama, and Holder Silent

Brendan Tevlin was a 19-year old from New Jersey who had just finished his freshman year at the University of Richmond. Like many kids his age, he played sports and video games. He also liked to surf. Brendan also played the bagpipes and was a Eucharistic minister at his church. But none of those things led to his tragic death. What led to Brendan’s death is that he was an American.

Ali Muhammad Brown, 29, was charged with the murder of 19-year old Brendan Tevlin on June 18th. Brown also confessed to killing two people, Ahmed Said and Dwone Anderson-Young, in Seattle on June 1. In addition, he was also charged with shooting another man, Leroy Henderson, in the Skyway area of Seattle in April. All of the men were killed with a 9 mm handgun.

There is consistency in Brown’s statement to police in both King County in Seattle, and Essex County, N.J. He told authorities that he was doing his small part as vengeance for U.S. actions in the Middle East.

Q13 FOX in Seattle reports that Brown described the killing of Tevlin to authorities in New Jersey as a ‘just kill’ which he defined as as a target that was an adult male, not a woman, child or elderly person. Brown stated, ““My mission is vengeance. For the lives, millions of lives are lost every day,” he reportedly said. “Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, all these places where innocent lives are being taken every single day … All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government. So a life for a life.”

Todd Pettingill, radio host of The Todd Show in the Morning, on 95,5 in New York, discussed this jihad killings on his radio show. He said, “If there was ever a reason to riot in the streets in the name of humanity, it would be for this case. But, has that happened? No. And I’m not suggesting that it should. What did the friends of family of Brendan Tevlin do? They had a candlelight vigil. What I am suggesting should happen is that this should be talked about and written about and the American people should know. Why is Eric Holder not visiting the Tevlin family? Why is the President not going to mention Brendan Tevlin tonight? He was a young boy who was killed…for being an American.”

In addition to calling out Holder and Obama for their failure to give any attention to these jihad killings that were done on American soil, Pettingill also said, “It was in fact an act of jihad, perpetrated by a fellow American who sympathized more with those who want to annihilate us than with his own country and its people.”

But, with ISIS on a bloody killing spree in the Middle East in their quest to establish a caliphate and their threats to take their attacks onto American soil, the only Brown the media wants to talk is Michael Brown. The media and Congress want to put more emphasis on the domestic abuse case surrounding Ray Rice than acts of jihad in America with men being killed simply for being an American. And Barack Obama wants to deny the severity of ISIS and, in fact, refuse to even recognize that they are dangerous Islamic terrorists who kill innocent people. Perhaps Obama should pay attention to the news more often. He would learn that not only do people kill innocents in the name of Islam, but it is happening already right here in the United States.

Obama Treasury Department Will Not Certify That Boston Marathon Bombing Was a Terror Attack

Despite its seeming incompetence, the Obama Regime has settled on an ingenious strategy for protecting the American homeland from terror attacks. It simply refuses to acknowledge that terror attacks are terror attacks. ISIS wannabe Nidal Hasan’s shooting spree at Fort Hood was workplace violence, not Islamic terror. Now it appears that the Boston Marathon bombing wasn’t terror either:

In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, Congress passed the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act, which created federally-backed insurance in cases of damage due to terrorism. Some Boston businesses were among those that bought the insurance. …

But as of March 2014, many of those that held terrorism insurance had their claims denied. Why? The Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew has not certified the attacks as an act of terrorism for these insurance purposes, a requirement under the wording of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Act (TRIA).

Evidently Religion of Peaceniks need to cause at least $100 million in aggregate damages for their outreach initiatives to count as terror attacks worthy of compensation.

That’s what you get for counting on the government.

But I’m guessing that if a white guy sets off a cherry bomb near an abortion clinic, that will still count as terror.

Maybe it was a kinetic man-caused disaster.

Obama’s ISIS plan: Outsourcing US national security in a chaotic world

I just finished listening to President Obama delivering his strategy for dealing with ISIS and my summation of what Obama stated is simply: “Outsourcing US National Security in a Chaotic World.”

Lots of you here aren’t career military combat warriors, so let me explain why this speech made no sense. Obama said that we are committed to a counter-terrorism strategy and a systematic campaign — but then Obama stated there will be no U.S. combat mission on the ground — although he is deploying another 475 on top of the almost 1,000 troops there now. Folks, you cannot win a counter-terrorism operation without a combat force – it certainly cannot be won from the air.

And what Obama didn’t explain was who will coordinate close air support for these “coalition” partners on the ground — and of course Obama just recently derided the Free Syrian Army as being “doctors, farmers, and pharmacists.” Our air strikes — and you must understand 150 strikes over a one month period is not a dedicated air campaign — have to be targeted and that means SOFLAM (Special Operations Forces Laser Acquired Munitions) but if there are no American combat troops, none on the ground, then who is doing this critical mission? You cannot destroy a force from 30,000 feet with air power only.

Obama just had to state that this is not going to be another Iraq or Afghanistan. Well, let’s look at that. In Afghanistan a small American force of 600 Special Operators and CIA operatives along with the Northern Alliance routed a Taliban Army of 70,000 along with another 5,000 Al-Qaida enemy forces. That was a successful model which could be used here, but Obama told us again what he was not willing to do.

Now we are going to put our national security trust in surrogate forces? And we’re supposed to send in more trainers for the Iraq Army? Heck, if Obama had supported the generals on the ground and fought to leave a residual force in Iraq, we would have had the trainers there and wouldn’t be in this position! So now we have to go back in because of his ideological intransigence and “redo” it all over again and try to rebuild the relationships, which have now been broken — as many Sunni tribesmen have enjoined ISIS.

And to state that ISIS is not Islamic? You have to be kidding me. ISIS stands for, first word, “Islamic.” Obama continues to deny and refuse to define the enemy, and that folks is not helpful.

President Obama stated that America is safer — but not according to recent American polling — and certainly not reflected by the beheadings of two Americans, Foley and Sotloff.

Obama borrowed the “no safe haven” phrase from George W. Bush. And in a comparative analysis of coalition building ability, George W. Bush had 37 countries in 2003, but so far Obama only has 9 — and as we reported, one of them is Turkey and they’re already waffling about not joining unless we restrain support to the Kurdish Peshmerga Army — a core element of this strategy.

I was glad to hear Obama state that he would cut off funding — I hope he goes after Qatar with a strategy we have offered here. As well, since the Saudi King Abdullah is so worried, then have him foot the bill for this operation. But, there was no reference to our domestic jihadist recruitment problem and a porous southern border that must be sealed.

Another key point Obama failed to address, as he talked about his highest priority being our security — will Obama stop the decimation of our military force, which finds itself at horribly low levels? That is why I believe Obama’s strategy is about “outsourcing” our national security as he degrades and destroys our military capability and capacity, which we have addressed here.

This is not American leadership at its best, it is American acquiescence and incompetence. You cannot destroy an enemy or conduct a counter-terrorism strategy by hoping someone else will execute it, or by air — and how are we going to increase air strikes? Will we have a dedicated air campaign with countless sorties a day?

The finish to this speech was utterly weak; full of empty rhetoric and pabulum which means nothing to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi — and it was Russia who sealed the deal to secure Syria’s declared chemical weapons.

Obama asked for our support — he certainly doesn’t secure mine, and he shouldn’t get yours either. Tonight President Barack Hussein Obama proved that polling drives his strategy, because this was supposed to be done midday.

He probably should have, since this was an utter embarrassment and a waste of time. Obama is expanding a combat operation and yet refuses to go to Congress, as George W. Bush did to make a case and secure — by vote — approval. He asked for a blank check for an ambiguous endeavor supporting surrogate forces to handle American business of destroying an enemy who he did not define, which has declared enemy against us.

I fear for my country. We are indeed rudderless amidst a maelstrom.

AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

That’s what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more than 3,000 Americans were killed -AD) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been “Get Out of Bed!” In fact, I think the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world’s most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this sovereign U. S. Embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol of America’s inability to deal with terrorism.

America’s military had been decimated and down sized/right sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut. When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once more.

Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.

Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives hits Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.

The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut, and America slept.

Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.

Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked.

Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed.

The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in1988, killing 259.

Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still trying to bring these people to trial. These are acts of war.

The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.

The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war?

The Snooze alarm is depressed again.

Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women. A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively.

They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.

The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000, when a small craft pulled alongside the ship and exploded, killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.

And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.

In the news lately we have seen lots of finger-pointing from every high officials in government over what they knew and what they didn’t know. But if you’ve read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don’t have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.

I think we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to “Get out of Bed” and act decisively now. America has been changed forever.. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said “… it seems all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.” This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.

This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year. This is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come.

The Obama administration is refusing to describe the expanded military campaign against the Islamic State as a war — despite plans to launch airstrikes across two tumultuous Middle East countries, dispatch hundreds more U.S. military personnel and build a coalition of nations to ultimately “destroy” the growing terror network.

The reluctance to use that label has generated confusion on Capitol Hill, particularly in light of new intelligence estimates that the Islamic State has as many as 31,500 fighters across Iraq and Syria. That’s the size of a small army – and close to the estimated size of the Taliban force in 2001.

Yet in television interviews on Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry repeatedly avoided the term “war” to describe the mission, instead calling it a “major counterterrorism operation” that could last a long time.

“It’s hard to find a response to that,” Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told Fox News, when asked about Kerry’s comments. “Then what was the president talking about [Wednesday] night?”

McCain and other lawmaker suggest Kerry’s comments do not square with President Obama’s stated goal of defeating the Islamic State, or ISIS.

“This is John Kerry, vintage,” McCain said.

Other members of the administration besides Kerry appeared to be struggling to both define the conflict and the terms of victory, as the U.S. enters a new and potentially risky phase of its operation against the terror group.

Asked Thursday what would constitute “destroying” ISIS, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said: “I didn’t bring my Webster’s Dictionary with me up here.”

Earnest tried to explain the operation as falling under the umbrella of the 2001 authorization to use military force – the measure that provided the legal basis to go into Afghanistan after the 9/11 attacks. (Kerry also compared the operation to strikes against terrorists in Afghanistan and Pakistan and Yemen.)

The administration is using this argument in order to avoid seeking new congressional authorization for the fight against ISIS.

But the Islamic State was not originally linked to the Sept. 11 attacks and has since split from the perpetrator of those attacks, Al Qaeda.

Some lawmakers say the administration is on shaky legal ground by treating this as a mere continuation of the counterterrorism missions in other countries, and is effectively downplaying the entire challenge ahead.

McCain said that if the president doesn’t understand the difference between the Islamic State and terror networks in places like Yemen, “then … he is oblivious to the size, shape, strength and ability of ISIS. It’s like comparing a little league team to the New York Yankees.”

A CIA spokesperson confirmed to Fox News on Thursday that the ISIS fighting force has sharply increased from the original estimate of at least 10,000 fighters.

“CIA assesses the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) can muster between 20,000 and 31,500 fighters across Iraq and Syria, based on a new review of all-source intelligence reports from May to August,” the spokesperson said. “This new total reflects an increase in members because of stronger recruitment since June following battlefield successes and the declaration of a caliphate, greater battlefield activity, and additional intelligence.”

Asked Thursday whether the government still views these operations as part of the “war on terrorism,” State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said: “It’s certainly not how I would refer to our efforts.”

House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said the semantics over what to call the operation “weakens the mission.”

“Words matter,” McCaul said Friday.

McCaul praised the president for moving to expand the mission into Syria, where the “head of the snake” of ISIS is located. But he said the administration is being careful with its language because the terror group defies Obama’s “campaign narrative” about ending the war on terrorism and putting Al Qaeda on the run.

“ISIL clearly hasn’t gotten the memo that I think John Kerry did,” McCaul said.

Obama Claims ISIS Is Not Islamic

Political correctness is like the toxoplasma gondii parasite; it infects its host and dangerously alters its behavior. In the case of political correctness, a rational—and more importantly, realistic—worldview is changed for the benefit of another’s feelings. Political correctness tells us that the truth is too offensive, or cruel to speak, and that we must be sensitive. But sometimes sensitivity blinds us to the reality of our cultural experience, which directly or indirectly endangers us.

In his speech yesterday regarding the radical Islamic terrorist organization ISIS, president Obama said many things, but one thing in particular left me stunned.

“Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic…No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”

According to the president, ISIS is not Islamic. Doesn’t that sound so warm, culturally sensitive, and nuanced? What an urbane, and prudent man, Obama is. His rationale? The fact that ISIS condones murder, but also the fact that many of ISIS’ victims have been fellow Muslims. You read that correctly. Because ISIS kills Muslims, they cannot possibly be truly Islamic. Let’s talk about that.

ISISis made up of Sunni Muslims, and many of the Muslims they are killing are Shiite. To the Sunnis, Shiite Muslims are infidels, and aretherefore a target. According to Alissa J. Rubin of The New York Times:
- “ISIS believes that the Shiites are apostates and must die in order to forge a pure form of Islam…In a chilling video that appeared to have been made more than a year ago in the Anbar Province of Iraq, ISIS fighters stopped three truck drivers in the desert and asked them whether they were Sunnis or Shiites. All three claimed to be Sunni. Then the questions got harder. They were asked how they performed each of the prayers: morning, midday and evening. The truck drivers disagreed on their methods, and all were shot.”
- Regardless of what you believe about Islam in general, the fact that Muslims are murdering other Muslims does not preclude those doing the killing from being Muslim. And Obama is a moron for saying so and thinking the public will believe him.
Next, let’s talk about the whole “no religion condones the killing of innocents” thing. Obama is either deliberately spreading misinformation, or he is bafflingly stupid. The Quran is filled with passages which command the execution of infidels (otherwise known as non-Muslims).
- Quran 5:33 “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement.”
- Quran 8:12 “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

Those are just two of dozens, and dozens of versus in the Quran advocating the killing of infidels. There are peaceful Muslims in the world, certainly, but there are those who take the Quran quite literally, and they are the ones fighting this war. Radical Muslims are no less Muslim because they practice violence. In fact, one could argue that they are more devout, because they follow more closely to the Quran.

Additionally, Obama shows his foolishness when he describes the victims of ISIS as “innocents.” To ISIS, non-Sunni Muslims are not innocents, they are infidels, and enemies of Allah. The radicals in ISIS are not killing innocents; they are killing their enemies, whom they believe to be apostates, and evil doers.

Since the beginning of his presidency, when he gave his we’re-all-in-this-together speech in Cairo, Barack Obama has been terrified of labeling radical Islamic terrorism. As his presidency has progressed (I hesitate to use that word), he has evolved, entering into even more treacherous territory. Remember when Obama “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” during his speech to the UN? Now, with his latest denial of the linkage between Islam, and terror, he has taken political correctness to a frightening level.

The longer Obama denies that radical Islam is the root of modern terrorism, the more power we give to radical Islam. Not only is it a disservice to those who have fought, and died to say that the terror we face isn’t based in radical Islam, it’s a denial that leads us away from fighting the root of the problem. If we don’t recognize the intent of the radical Islamists, which is to wipe us out, and create a modern caliphate, we won’t be able to defeat them. Instead, we will try to negotiate our way out of the problem. But you cannot negotiate with someone who has no intent to cooperate.

Obama’s denial that ISIS is inherently Islamic is not only completely untrue, but hazardous to our safety as a nation. Given the absolute stupidity of Obama’s statement, it’s safe to say that he is either stunningly incompetent, or just a flat out liar. Either way, he is doing the United States quite a bit of harm.

Army officer told he cannot enter his daughter’s school while wearing a uniform

ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) – Lieutenant Colonel Sherwood Baker says he is just a father who was trying to help his daughter find her way at her new high school. Lt… Baker has served in the Army for 24 years. This past week he was told by Rochester Adams high school security that if he wanted to get into the high school with his daughter he was going to have to go home and change his clothes.

Baker’s wife, Rachel Ferhadson says, “Before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry your not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren’t allowed because it may offend another student.”

Lieutenant Colonel Sherwood Bakersays he was simply coming to the school to speak with his daughter’s counselor regarding her class schedule but was turned away at the doors because he was not wearing a tie.

Rochester Schools superintendent Robert Shaner, who is a veteran himself, quickly took care of the situation apologizing to the family for their troubles.

Shaner sent a letter to Fox 2 which says: “The district has apologized for any perception that individuals in uniform are not welcome in the school. The district does not have a policy excluding individuals in uniform and will be working with administration and the firm that handles our security to make sure district policies are understood and communicated accurately.”

The Baker family has scheduled a meeting with the principal of Adams high school in the coming days.

Israel Fears U.S. May Cozy Up to Iran in Fight with Islamic State

On the eve of President Obama’s prime-time address on confronting IS, Israel National News reports that Israel’s official position was one of approval. “I praise the American initiative to take action and form a coalition against the Islamic State and hope those efforts will succeed,” Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said in comments broadcast on public radio.

Lieberman’s comments coincided with US Secretary of State John Kerry’s arrival in Baghdad on an unannounced visit at the start of a Middle East tour aimed at building a regional coalition to combat IS, the extremist Sunni militants who have taken over significant territory in both Syria and Iraq. Kerry is not scheduled to visit Israel on his trip.

Yesterday, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon called for greater cooperation between the world’s intelligence agencies in an effort to defeat IS.

But underneath the expressions of unity with America and calls for global cooperation, Israel is concerned that American efforts to build a coalition to fight IS will involve a degree of rapprochement with Iran at a time that the Iranians are widely believed to be developing nuclear weapons.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzahi Hanegbi, who is close to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, praised the initiative but warned it may signal closer ties between the United States and Iran, which has also pledged to join the struggle.

“There could be some kind of flexibility vis-a-vis Iran by the Americans in the fight against IS,” he said.

Israel is anxious about the interim nuclear deal that Washington and other Western powers reached with Tehran last November, which Israel fears is buying the Iranians time to develop their nuclear capabilities.

Those negotiations already passed one deadline in July, but the parties agreed to extend the talks until November 24 to allow more time to reach a historic deal. The new talks are to open in New York ahead of the opening of the UN General Assembly on September 16. Meanwhile, Iranian centrifuges continue to spin.

Israel has refused to rule out military action against Iranian nuclear facilities to prevent the possibility of developing the technology for an atomic bomb. Israel fears that, should the rabidly anti-Israel Iranians cross the nuclear threshold, they will target the Jewish state with nuclear weapons.

Fledgling efforts to combat IS have already placed America and Iran on the same side in Iraq. American airstrikes in Iraq have supported Shia Islamist militias backed by Iran, including during the breaking of the Islamic State’s siege of the Shia town of Amerli last week.

After listening to all the “On the Street” interviews of American’s citizens on this tragic anniversary of September 11, 2001, one thought has kept running through my mind; “How many great nations have collapsed from within because of “LOW-INFORMATION-VOTERS”?

For me, anyone who cannot answer simple questions about current events like;

Can you name the two American journalist that were beheaded by terrorist in the last 30 days?

Have you heard of ISIS?
Today is the 13th anniversary of what nation event?
Who is the Vice President of the United States?

I could go on and on. These are questions that have been asked in recent days, and all you get are empty looks on their faces. If the person being interviewed is a 20 something, the lack of knowledge is even worse. Most have trouble answering any question about American history, or the critical news of the day.

These are the voters that the Leftist/Marxist/Socialist/Extreme-Liberal/Democrat forces have fostered in our schools, including college. We have a mass of low-information-voters who have every right to vote, but are easily swayed based on emotion and appearance, rather than legitimate information. I would never support a law restricting who can vote. Until we as conservatives can educate the masses, the LMSELD will continue to win elections and take us further into the pit of Socialism/Marxism.

I certainly do not have all the answers, and I doubt anyone person does. Together we can come up with a plan of action. Will you join me?

Why would Barack Obama want to give hundreds of millions of dollars of weapons to groups inside Syria that are selling weapons to ISIS and regularly fighting alongside them?

Is he really that clueless about what is going on in the Middle East? The FSA and other groups of “moderate” fighters inside Syria do not consider ISIS to be an enemy. Rather, they consider ISIS to be an important ally in the struggle to overthrow the Syrian government. In fact, many “moderate” units have actually joined ISIS in recent months. If Obama gives more weapons to the “moderate” fighters in Syria, it is inevitable that a lot of them will end up in the hands of ISIS. In a previous article, I already discussed how ISIS is talking over vast stretches of Syria and Iraq using mostly American weapons. If the Obama administration goes ahead with this plan to arm “moderates” in Syria, it is just going to make ISIS even stronger.

Without a doubt, ISIS is an organization that is absolutely seething with evil. They have been running around beheading journalists, crucifying their enemies in public and even cutting children in half. ISIS has promised to drown America “in blood“, and the only way to appease them would be for every single one of us to convert to their version of Islam.

But Obama’s strategy to “defeat ISIS” makes absolutely no sense at all.

First of all, if you want to defeat someone you don’t give weapons to their friends.

According to Fox News, the White House actually believes that the FSA and other “moderate” groups inside Syria will act as “ground troops” in our fight against ISIS…

According to one White House aide, the president is escalating the call for more aid to the rebels so they could act as the ground troops to support potential U.S. airstrikes against ISIS.

Can you imagine the laughter that will ensue when ISIS leaders read this?

Secondly, if you want to conduct air strikes against ISIS, you have got to get permission from the nation where you will be conducting those air strikes.

The Obama administration has permission from the Iraqi government to conduct air strikes against ISIS targets inside Iraq, and the Pentagon says that those air strikes have been effective.

However, it is being reported that Obama now wants to bomb ISIS targets inside Syria…

President Barack Obama, who will set a broad long-term strategy to defeat the Islamic State in his speech to Americans on Wednesday evening, is prepared to authorize air strikes against the group in Syria, U.S. officials said.

Pursuing the Islamist radicals inside Syria would complement an expanded military campaign to back government forces in Iraq following the formation of a more inclusive government in Baghdad.

But Obama does not have permission from the Syrian government to do that. In fact, the Syrian government is warning that any U.S. air strikes within their borders will be considered an act of war.

Do we really want to declare war on Syria on top of everything else?

Sadly, Obama doesn’t seem to think that he needs permission to do much of anything.

In fact, he insists that he doesn’t even need the permission of Congress to start conducting air strikes inside Syria…

President Obama is prepared to use U.S. military airstrikes in Syria as part of an expanded campaign to defeat the Islamic State and does not believe he needs formal congressional approval to take that action, according to people who have spoken with the president in recent days.

We have a man occupying the White House running around doing whatever he wants without even having an elementary understanding about what is going on over in the Middle East.

And he has the audacity to stand up in front of the American people and “explain” to us why we need to spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to arm groups that are clearly aligned with ISIS.

Below, I want to share an extended excerpt from a recent article by Paul Joseph Watson. In his article, Watson lists numerous examples that show that the “moderate” rebels and ISIS are still very much working together…

The lunacy of such a policy is illustrated by the fact that Bassel Idriss, commander of an FSA-run rebel brigade, recently admitted that Washington-backed “moderate” rebels are still collaborating with ISIS.

“We are collaborating with the Islamic State and the Nusra Front by attacking the Syrian Army’s gatherings in … Qalamoun,” Idriss told Lebanon’s Daily Star. “Let’s face it: The Nusra Front is the biggest power present right now in Qalamoun and we as FSA would collaborate on any mission they launch as long as it coincides with our values.”

A July report in Stars and Stripes also documented how the 1,000 strong Dawud Brigade, which had previously fought alongside the FSA against the Assad regime, defected in its entirety to join ISIS.

Also in July it emerged that “several factions within the FSA, including Ahl Al Athar, Ibin al-Qa’im” had “handed over its weapons to the Islamic State in large numbers” and pledged allegiance to ISIS.

Islamic State fighter Abu Atheer also told Al-Jazeera, “We are buying weapons from the FSA. we bought 200 anti-aircraft missiles and Koncourse anti tank weapons. We have good relations with our brothers in the FSA. For us, the infidels are those who cooperate with the West to fight Islam.”

The Obama administration has spent weeks working on a “strategy” to deal with ISIS, and this is what they have come up with?

Rather than “defeating ISIS”, this strategy is likely to make ISIS even stronger and have the added bonus of potentially starting a war with Syria.

Exactly what is Obama trying to accomplish in the Middle East anyway?

But in the end, the real fault lies with the American people. Despite relentless warnings, the American people willingly chose to elect this con man to the highest office in the land two times in a row, and as a result we all get to suffer the consequences of those very foolish decisions.

A prophetic warning from then-President George W. Bush before he left office about what would happen if the U.S. withdrew troops from Iraq too soon is getting new attention in light of the Islamic State’s gains, as each of his predictions appears to be coming true.

Bush, as discussed on “The Kelly File,” made the remarks in the White House briefing room on July 12, 2007, as he argued against those who sought an immediate troop withdrawal.

“To begin withdrawing before our commanders tell us we are ready would be dangerous for Iraq, for the region and for the United States,” Bush cautioned.

He then ticked off a string of predictions about what would happen if the U.S. left too early.

“It would mean surrendering the future of Iraq to Al Qaeda.

“It would mean that we’d be risking mass killings on a horrific scale.

“It would mean we allow the terrorists to establish a safe haven in Iraq to replace the one they lost in Afghanistan.

“It would mean we’d be increasing the probability that American troops would have to return at some later date to confront an enemy that is even more dangerous.”

Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen says all these predictions have come true.

“Every single thing that President Bush said there in that statement is happening today,” he told Fox News.

To Bush’s first warning, the Islamic State terror group is effectively the successor to Al Qaeda in Iraq – and they’ve overrun several major cities in Iraq’s north while claiming broad swaths of territory in Syria. Further, the group has been behind mass killings of Iraqi civilians as well as the recent execution by beheading of two American journalists.

The Obama administration has warned that the group’s violence threatens to approach genocide levels.

Though President Obama says combat troops will not be returning to fight in Iraq, American troops are nevertheless returning in some capacity. The president on Wednesday announced an expanded airstrike campaign against the group in Iraq and Syria, and is sending hundreds more U.S. military personnel into Iraq.

Some lawmakers and analysts say this could have been avoided if the Obama administration had left a residual force in Iraq, or at least had responded sooner to ISIS’ gains in northern Iraq over the past year.

Bush, before he left office, signed an agreement setting the stage for U.S. troops to withdraw by December 2011.

Obama, though, was urged by military advisers to keep thousands of service members after that deadline to help the shaky Iraqi government. But when Washington and Baghdad were unable to reach a renewed agreement governing the presence of U.S. forces in the country, the Obama administration withdrew virtually all troops at the end of 2011.

“We needed to leave a stabilizing force behind, and we didn’t. And of course, we know the rest is history,” Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told Fox News.

Obama: Order and Progress Can Only Come When Individuals Surrender Their Rights to an All-Powerful Sovereign

In addressing various dignitaries and members of the NATO alliance back in March of this year, Barack Obama gave a speech, in which he used some phrases that some have taken out of context. Yet, if one listens to what Obama says following those statements and looks at what he advances policy-wise, one cannot help but understand that he is speaking out of both sides of his mouth. What is the phrase in question you might ask? Obama told the audience, “Order and progress can only come when individuals surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign.”

Before I move on, let me make you aware that at Freedom Outpost, we carried this very statement in an article by a Vietnam Veteran friend of mine by the name of Leon Puissegur. As soon as it was published, it was clear that people, who claim to be conservatives, didn’t even read the article, but wanted to pontificate on use taking the statement out of context in the title. First, how do you take a statement out of context when it’s merely a title? You can’t. Sometimes you use sarcasm in a title and still people don’t get it.

I ended up writing this brief editor’s note at the beginning just a couple of hours after posting because people wouldn’t read the article.

Editor’s Note: I’ve decided to put this at the top since many people simply read a title and never read the content of articles. Then they pontificate about the article’s content as though they read it or even watched the video if supplied. If you don’t read the content of the article, then you have no authority to comment on it. I find this incredibly ironic considering many conservatives are so upset their representatives don’t read legislation before voting on it. I added the full video before publishing Leon’s article, so that you can view it all the way through. These are his words and there is a context. Leon also made sure to point out exactly what context Barack Obama said this in. However, his point was to demonstrate that Obama’s actions speak a lot louder than his words, words Obama claims he disagrees with. Yet, given his actions, it appears Obama is in clear agreement with what his mouth claims he is against.

I even had one self-professed conservative write me via email, after I provided him the actual text where we pointed out the context, to tell me, “You can’t expect people to read your articles.” Talk about dumbing down!

Consider Obama’s words in their context just moments into his speech. He spoke about how things were viewed in the past, claiming such things as, “Ordinary men and women are too small minded to govern their own affairs.”

In discussing theories of the past about government, he declared, “Order and progress can only come when individuals surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereignty.” Many people blew this off as being out of context, yet the article clearly cited what the context was and then ventured on to point out the fact that Barack Obama is advancing a New World Order, one in which the very thing he talks about despising is really where he wants the world to go.

In other words, Barack Obama has been clear about men and women not being able to govern their own affairs. How can I say that? Just look at how he has opened up the welfare state, turning back the welfare reform signed into law by Bill Clinton. Take a look at his unconstitutional “law” that bears his own name, Obamacare. That was put into place because he and other socialists and communists like him do not think people can manage their healthcare affairs. His push for the raising of the minimum wage is another example of how he thinks individuals can’t govern their own affairs. These are just a couple of examples. I could list many, many more and have written on dozens of them.

So, what of this claim about giving up rights to an all-powerful sovereign? Surely Obama doesn’t believe in that, does he?

Consider that my veteran friend Leon conducted the only interview with Dr. John Drew, who attended Occidental College with Barack Obama. As they studied Marxism together and talked, it became clear that Obama wanted to pursue turning the United States into a Marxist country via a communist style revolution. While Dr. Drew was later converted to the Lord Jesus Christ, Barack Obama remained a committed Marxist, despite his claims of being a Christian, which his 2004 interview demonstrates.

When Leon asked Dr. Drew if Obama displayed the Marxist ideology in college, Drew responded, “We were confiding in each other the way people fight with each other people with major historical struggles in communicating, very down to earth, very honest. Like I said, I am ashamed of my Socialist/Marxist past, I have a conversion story which explains how I became a Christian, Constitutional Conservative. Barack Obama has no conversion story. There is a story about how he stopped being a Marxist, if anything his career, life shows an alarming consistency in his ideological extremism.”

When he was then asked if he saw that same Marxist ideology in Obama today, Drew said, “Yes, especially when he talks about the people holding on to their guns and religion because of economic stress. That is a Marxist idea. Everything he says about it being a good idea to spread the wealth around; that is Marxist/Socialist concepts. Some of the statements Obama makes about things inevitably get better, I think that is a Marxist ideological remnants.”

He then went on to say that revolutions like Obama wanted in the US, communist style revolutions, only occur in “backwards raring economies.” Drew then added that he thinks Obama “believed that the economic stresses would pile up worse and worse and after the stresses built up they would just build up to a breaking point where a new group would take over the country. That would be a large group of workers, students, young people, those who were enlightened by Marxist/Socialist ideology would end up running things.”

Does that sound like Cloward and Piven friends?

With that in mind, understand that Obama does have a particular mindset and it is not one that wishes the best for America. It is to bring her to her knees so that individuals will surrender their rights to an all-powerful sovereign who is not the Lord Jesus Christ.

This should be apparent in the way this administration has gone after guns with a vengeance and got their hands slapped on nearly every occasion they attempted to put them in the cookie jar. They have virtually ignored every one of the first Ten Amendments in the Bill of Rights. I have listed 5 examples here.

Now come back to this presentation. If you follow Obama’s words all the way through, you will hear him espouse certain things that sound good, but they are always tied up in the “international community.” While Obama says that the West doesn’t claim to be the “arbiters of right and wrong,” he does claim there are “international norms.” The question is, who determines those norms? Who enforces those norms? Is it the norm to exercise free speech? It is the norm for international citizens to be armed against tyranny? More to the point, is it the norm for governments to not be transparent to their people or to treat them as peasants? If the latter, then isn’t that pretty much doing the very thing that Obama says he is against? Remember, this man is a master liar and deceiver, and yes, it’s documented. His birth certificate and Social Security number is all you really need to know to understand. In fact, if those weren’t enough, surely the information that the US Department of Homeland Security could not verify that he is legally able to hold a job flipping hamburgers at the local McDonald’s.

In the end, he is continuing to advance the New World Order, just as his predecessors were.

My friends, while Obama is saying one thing with his mouth, his actions are saying something completely different. Watch the entire video and see how much this man is pushing for the sovereignty of the United States to be given over to the international community, and once that is done, how long do you think it will be before your individual rights suffer the same fate?

: 30 hours and counting for debate on SJR 19…

Yesterday was another heated day on the floor of the Senate, as Republicans took to the podium to lambaste SJR 19, Democrats’ latest effort to control the content and flow of political speech in America.

As we discussed Monday, SJR 19 proposes a Constitutional amendment that would give Congress the right to set limits on how much money can be raised for and spent in federal political campaigns, and would drastically limit the First Amendment rights to both free speech and free association. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), have spent the past two days defending the resolution as our last chance to preserve the integrity of the vote—and proposing some dangerous policy in the process.

Tuesday brought both junior and senior Senators to the floor in opposition to the proposed amendment, putting Democrats on defense and causing waves on social media. One of the main concerns raised in Tuesday’s floor speeches was the potential for government control over political speech to spiral, and cut off the flow of information entirely.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) got creative with his presentation, targeting Senator Al Franken (D-MN) and others who embrace parody and humor as part of their political commentary:

“Congress would have the power to make it a criminal offense, Lorne Michaels could be put in jail under this amendment for making fun of any politician. That is extraordinary. It is breathtaking and it is dangerous,” the Texas Republican argued on the Senate floor on Tuesday, with a board of stills from the late-night sketch show displayed behind him.

Cruz said that the proposal, which will face a vote tomorrow, gives Congress the authority to prohibit corporations from engaging in political speech.

“Well, NBC which airs Saturday Night Live, is a corporation,” Cruz said, who gave his own impression of Dana Carvey as President George H.W. Bush.

Both Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) addressed the valid concern that if passed, SJR 19 could eventually spur a constitutional amendment that would prevent the spread of any information Congress deems inappropriate or inconvenient.

Senator Lee has a great point. SJR 19 contains a convenient provision addressing how the resolution could affect press access:

Section 3. Nothing in this article shall be construed to grant
Congress or the States the power to abridge the freedom of the
press.

The problem with this is, we’ve never defined what “the press” is. We know that ABC/NBC/CBS count, but does Legal Insurrection? Does Breitbart News? Does Joe Smith Blogger from Litchfield, Illinois count? There’s no possible way to control the effects of SJR 19′s proposed amendment because there are too many variables left undefined. It’s vague by nature, which could spell disaster for activists and bloggers.

Although some have questioned the Republican leadership’s strategy of allowing the resolution to move forward, John Hayward at Human Events has an editorial out that describes perfectly why this tactic will leave Republicans on top:

Senate Democrats have been wasting America’s time on a showboating effort to repeal the First Amendment – a bill they know is doomed to go nowhere, but it would give them something to sell to their dispirited base going into the midterm elections. The Republicans were supposed to slap this dumbassery down, giving Democrats a chance to run to their gullible base voters and cry: See, we tried to do something about the evil Koch Brothers, but those rascally Republicans stopped us, because they think billionaires should be able to buy elections!

But Senate Republicans, with a twinkle in their eye, voted to advance the Democrats’ stupid bill, making the Democrats look utterly foolish as they whined to the media about how those mean old Republicans took their base-goosing clown act seriously.

Shot and chaser. We knew Harry Reid was going to bring this up at some point this year because “getting money out of elections” is the kind of tripe that gets the progressive base all whipped up and mobilized. Why not take advantage of this opportunity to make Democrats look foolish, and let Republicans flex their muscles?

The benefit is twofold: the media is already being forced to cover this as an issue that a Republican minority is perfectly willing to debate (down goes Reid’s easiest talking point;) but more importantly, it gives conservatives an opportunity to bring the concepts of free speech and association to center stage. The fact that this resolution exists is proof that this discussion needs to happen; SJR 19 is dangerous, not because it tinkers with campaign finance law, but because, as Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) put it, its very premise is grounded in the idea that freedom of speech somehow reduces liberty:

“Senate Joint Resolution 19 is exactly…what America’s founders ratified the First Amendment to prevent. Supporters of this radical proposal apparently believe that freedom itself is the problem. That view is contrary to the fundamental principles of this Republic and incompatible with free society. Freedom is not a problem. It’s the solution.”

Supporters of Michael Brown in Ferguson are still calling for action against Officer Darren Wilson before a full investigation is even completed. On Tuesday, they held a rally in front of the Ferguson Police Department during which they found themselves confronted with facts in the case that many want to simply ignore.

The Gateway Pundit broke the exclusive story from reporter Adam Sharpe. Leading the rally was Brown family attorney Anthony Gray. The transcript of their exchange is below the video. (article continues below)

Brown attorney: You cannot look the other way when the culprit is someone in your own police department or your own back yard. Any questions?

Reporter Adam Sharp: Is it true that Officer Wilson suffered facial fractures?

Attorney: That’s nothing that I’ve heard. I haven’t seen anything on it.

Reporter Sharp: There are numerous reports saying this…. Are you saying there were no facial injuries on Officer Wilson? Mr. Gray, you’re the attorney, do you know?

Attorney Anthony Gray: I tell you what. This is the way I’d answer that. Look at the video, moments after the shooting. You tell me if that’s somebody walking around, looking at Mike Brown Jr.’s body, if that person looked like he had any sort of facial injuries.

Reporter Sharp: So you’re saying there were no facial injuries to the officer?

Gray: I’ll tell you the video speaks louder than what I can tell you right now, sir. All you have to do is look at the tape. (applause) He’s standing there not one time does he touch his face.

So, facts don’t matter to this attorney. The hospital visit and diagnosis following the alleged physical altercation prior to the shooting, which is reported to have left Wilson with severe injuries, do not matter. According to Gray, the officer wasn’t holding his face. Therefore, he discounts any serious injuries.

Does anyone know what law school this guy attended?

On Monday, TPNN’s Tim Constantine laid-down some harsh truths regarding the state of illegal immigration in America and, just as importantly, the continual failure of our president to address the needs of citizens and handle this problem.

Constantine, speaking of the president’s promise to violate the Constitution by going around Congress to issue an executive order to facilitate amnesty for millions of illegals, stated that if he were an illegal immigrant or a Democrat who is reliant upon illegal votes for election, he should be ecstatic.

“But no, they are not. They are criticizing him. You’ve got all these people saying, ‘This isn’t fair; why are they putting it off?’ The National Council of La Raza, their spokesperson was on television over the weekend, complaining.”

Constantine noted that La Raza has proclaimed that they are “done waiting” for Obama to fulfill his promise to the millions of illegals.

“Are they entitled to something?! They have come into the country illegally. They’re now entitled? ‘But, but, Barack Obama promised.’ You know what? He promised to me I could keep my plan if I liked my plan. The man lies! The man says what he wants to say, but the folks from La Raza and the other folks from these groups that are pushing for illegal immigration and amnesty believe that they are somehow entitled to something the president can’t legally do anyway. The President of the United States cannot just arbitrarily lift the law. He cannot arbitrarily change the law. And yet, that is what he has promised these people and now, dammit, that’s what they expect.”

Poll: Majority See Obama as Divisive Failure

On this question, Obama polls worse than President Bush did at this point in his second term. While the same number, 55%, saw Bush as a divider, 43% saw him as a uniter.

On the issue of immigration, voters are moving against amnesty. Last year 51% supported amnesty compared to 43% who opposed. Today that number has flipped with 50% in opposition and only 46% in favor. Twenty-seven percent of voters are more likely to vote for a candidate in favor of amnesty, 36% are less likely.

On the question of Obama’s handling of immigration, only 31% approve, while a whopping 59% disapprove.

Obama’s job approval has sunk in this particular poll to 42% approve, 51% disapprove. Three months ago, the president sat at 46-51%. On his handling of specific issues — the economy, foreign policy, implementation of ObamaCare — the president is underwater on all three by large margins: 42-54%, 38-56%, and 38-56%, respectively. Only 43% see him as a strong leader, while a whopping 55% disagree.

On the all-important generic ballot pertaining to the midterm elections that are less than 60 days away, registered voters prefer Democrats 46-44%. Context is important here. Democrats almost always enjoy an advantage on this poll. In the last poll taken before the Republican midterm sweep of 2010, Democrats enjoyed an even better advantage of 49-44%. On this particular poll, the GOP is actually in better shape today than they were before that historic wave.

When asked to choose which party would do a better job of handling the country’s problems over the next few years, for this first time in almost a decade, the GOP outpolled Democrats, 40-39%.

Voters now favor the GOP to handle immigration by 39-43% . Just five months ago, Democrats were ahead on immigration by a margin of 40-34%. That’s a 10-point flip in just a few months.

The Democrats’ War on Workers

It will cost trillions, depleting resources.

According to The Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector, the cost for amnesty is at least $6.3 trillion. Most of this cost is absorbed in Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, education, welfare benefits, and social services like police…

Amnesty will depress wages

The majority of the 33 million new immigrants that would benefit from amnesty would be low-skilled labor. The Congressional Budget Office stated that wages would decrease over ten years. Mass immigration is already hurting many low-skilled laborers, The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights stated that both legal and illegal immigration accounts for forty percent of the 18-point percent decline for African American employment levels.

Employment will decrease amongst low-skill domestic labor

The addition of 33 million new permanent job seekers would increase the already strained native work force. According to the Center for Immigration Studies, “the native-born population increased by 16.4 million from 2000 to 2013, yet the number of natives actually holding a job was 1.3 million lower in 2013 than 2000.”

With respect to forced unionization, Democrats around the country have spent decades building the strength of public employee unions. The reason is simple. Employees are required to join the union, required to pay dues which are automatically deducted from their wages, and the unions are the number one funding source for the Democratic Party.

We’ve seen some dramatic reversals on that score over the past few years. Both Michigan and Wisconsin, states with a long history of labor union activism, have both become right-to-work states and unions have lost the majority of their members in both states. Secondly, the recent Supreme Court decision – Harris v. Quinn – from Illinois that struck down the requirement that low paid home healthcare workers be union members has put a huge dent in union membership. California, of course, is moving to counter the effect of that decision and continue to prop up unions at the expense of low wage workers.

Two years ago, however, the Legislature and Gov. Jerry Brown began to merge IHSS [In-Home Supportive Services caregivers] with other social services and shift the negotiation of union contracts for aides – who are selected by care recipients and usually family members – to a new statewide “authority.”

As that county-by-county shift occurs, IHSS will become, in effect, a state program with nearly 400,000 employees. While IHSS unions like the shift to state bargaining, it’s creating a new and semi-adversarial relationship between them and the state.

The just-concluded legislative session provided some clues to that evolving relationship.

When, for example, President Barack Obama’s administration declared that IHSS workers were entitled to overtime pay, Brown attempted to limit them to 40-hour weeks to limit costs, but eventually settled for a lesser restriction.

When the Legislature was passing a so-called “domestic worker bill of rights,” laying out working conditions for housekeepers, babysitters and other home helpers, it exempted IHSS workers from its protections – a kind of do-as-we-say-not-as-we-do attitude.

[…]The bill, ostensibly a budget cleanup measure, contains a curious provision giving union representatives the right – at public expense – to talk to new workers about union membership for “up to 30 minutes.”

Why?

Well, it may have had something to do with a U.S. Supreme Court decision in an Illinois case that IHSS workers cannot be compelled to pay union “agency shop” dues because they are not truly public workers, since they are chosen by their clients.

IHSS workers are paid, in most cases, only slightly more than minimum wages, so union dues can be a major bite and many might opt out of paying them under the Supreme Court’s decree.

Republican governors in both Michigan and Wisconsin fought the unions and won major victories for the workers in their states as well as state taxpayers. Both governors inherited huge deficits from outgoing Democrats. Both Michigan and Wisconsin now have budget surpluses just four years later and, in large part, the reason for those surpluses is moving to being right-to-work states.

It’s long past time for states to stand up for their most vulnerable workers and the best way to do this is to fight amnesty and fight for the right-to-work. Where do your Representatives and Senators stand? Where do your State representatives and candidates for statewide office stand? It’s time to hold the politicians accountable.

Texas ranchers: Terrorists reportedly caught at border; feds clam up (Video)

With 9/11 coming up and Fort Bliss, the Army post outside of El Paso, having implemented additional security measures following reports that ISIS is across the border in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, it is increasingly peculiar that federal agencies don’t want to talk about this.

It has been confirmed through the Texas Department of Public Safety that an alert was issued on the presence of ISIS over the border and the potential for an attack.

Texas sheriffs near the border are on alert as well, like Gary Painter in Midland County, which lies a little over 100 miles up country from the border but is easily accessible from it, across sparsely populated terrain, and is situated on the major thoroughfare of Interstate 20. Painter spoke to the media on Saturday (all emphasis added):

The sheriff said he received an alert bulletin that ISIS — Islamic State of Iraq and Syria — may have formed a terrorist cell in or near Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, a Mexican border city across from El Paso. He said the alert warned law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for such activity.

The Reporter-Telegram contacted the FBI for a statement on the reports, but the organization is currently not commenting on the subject.

This is a serious issue for Painter, the former president of the Sheriff’s Association of Texas. He said the situation is made worse by Texas’ open border.

Painter’s concern about the open border is being reinforced by more and more new-media reporting. The Texas DPS and the sheriffs can’t be everywhere. Neither can the Texas State Guard soldiers called up by Rick Perry. A recent, very disturbing set of interviews with Texas ranchers, posted on 4 September by Oath Keepers (h/t: Truth Revolt), reveals just how big a threat that open border may be – and how the Border Patrol is reportedly being gagged and hamstrung in its effort to police it. (The YouTube video with audio of the entire interview is embedded below.)

Rancher Cuban “Rusty” Monsees lives in Cameron County, at the east end of the Texas border on the Gulf coast. (Cameron County is where Border Patrol agent Javier Vega, Jr. was killed by cartel-linked illegals on 3 August, while out fishing with his family). According to Monsees, the Border Patrol has caught illegals infiltrating his area from several of the world’s major sources of terrorist operatives (all punctuation in original):

Rusty describes Border Patrol intercepting Muslim men from Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and says “when they [Border Patrol] take them in, they’ll disappear – they’ll take them somewhere – and even the records will disappear. And I asked one of them ‘what’s the deal on the records’ and he said ‘that’s an order from way up the line, up in DC – they don’t want anybody to know how many are coming through’…they [the local Border Patrol agents] keep records but the records disappear, out of the mainframe – out of the computer – and the paper records too.”

A second man, Rob, an Oath Keeper who has been helping Rusty guard his ranch for the past month, added the following:

[They] had six middle eastern males on Rusty’s property [which Border Patrol was able to catch] … all I know is they were Muslim. I wasn’t told a whole lot of information about it. I do know they had told me they had caught eleven of the same group, the week prior to that, that had been on our United States terrorist wanted list [for acts against the United States] – not watch, but wanted list. And this is the kind of stuff that they are not releasing to the public, they’re not allowed to release it.

Rob continued:

They were caught and they were turned over to Homeland Security, and everything pretty much disappeared like what Rusty was saying. None of that is any public information or anything like that, so they don’t want it to be public. [ the BP is not allowed to tell anyone that known terrorists are coming across the border]. They aren’t allowed to speak about it. The only thing we [the American public] hear about is women and kids… and when they make huge drug busts, that’s what we hear about. We don’t hear about the gang-bangers coming across, we don’t hear about the terrorists coming across. We don’t hear about the violence going down on the border. I had a rancher call me last week, and begging for help on 15,000 acres. He had been moved off his ranch because he doesn’t feel safe with his family there. He’s been shot at and threatened. We don’t hear that [on the news].

In the interview, Rusty also describes attacks on lone Border Patrol agents, during day and at night, telling how one officer suffered a broken leg, broken arm, crushed sternum, and eight broken ribs, and how the illegals “stomped on him so bad they thought he was dead, and they stripped off his uniform, got his backup [handgun], his service automatic, went to the unit, they got the tac vest … they got the M-4, all the ammunition, and … all the comm[unications] equipment.” Rusty says this has happened “about six times.”

The problem seems to be bigger than instituting adequate patrol measures, however (e.g., making sure Border Patrolmen are operating together and can outgun the illegals). According to all the ranchers and security volunteers interviewed, including Rusty and Rob, the Border Patrol has been directed by higher authority not to engage armed illegals coming across the border.

They can’t make any contact with armed cartel, or any armed person for that matter, so if there’s an armed terrorist, armed cartel, uhm, armed MS-13, coming across that border, they’re not allowed to make contact with them. They have to let them walk and call DPS (Texas Department of Public Safety]. And they come out and they arrest them on criminal charges. [what’s their response time?] “Maybe two hours.” So, in other words, it doesn’t happen. “Yeh, it doesn’t happen. It’s complete bogus is what it is. …”

The deployment of the Texas Guard isn’t helping where Rusty is either. The Guard’s equipment may not be the best, but the bigger problem for Cameron County is that the Guard is deployed somewhat further west along the border (see map).

The Texas State Guard are in the flimsy, cheap, probably Chinese made watch-towers. They’re not bullet proof, they’ve got glass on four sides and they posted them from McCallen, which is the North end of the Valley, to Laredo, which is about 200 miles. They’re not down here south.

Oath Keepers interviewed Monsees’ neighbor Fernando as well (video below). Fernando says bluntly that Americans aren’t being told what’s going on:

When asked how many children has he seen coming across, he said “none.” He has seen large groups of up to fifty people, and they have all been adults, and primarily men. …

“Don’t believe everything you hear in the news. There is something happening here, there is danger for the people that are living here right now, based on the way they’re handling the immigration problem. They’re allowing these people to come through our neighborhoods and those of us that are actually living here are the ones that are seeing it on a daily basis.”

He confirms Rusty’s and Rob’s comments about restrictions on the Border Patrol:

They’re not even to draw their weapon on these people – if they can they are supposed to just continue on their way, move out and leave them alone. And to me, that puts my family in danger because that [open] gate is right at the end of my street.

Read, as they say, the whole thing at Oath Keepers. There’s a lot more. Sean Hannity’s been to the border with Rick Perry. It’s time for higher-profile media to get down there and talk to the ranchers. Many of them have been on the same land for generations. It’s because of national policy that they now find themselves on the front lines of what is effectively a growing war on Americans and our way of life.

Sheriff Gary Painter, back in Midland County, thinks we need to fight – and definitely fight ISIS:

Painter said that President Barack Obama and the federal government need to take quick and appropriate action to weaken ISIS leadership. For Painter, that means striking ISIS hard at the source: Iraq and Syria.

“What needs to happen is that there needs to be enough bombs dropped on (ISIS leaders), that every time they hear a jet propeller they urinate themselves down both legs.”

Money trail reveals Islamist influence in American policy

money_trail I’m often asked how it is and why it is that Islamists have such a strong influence on American policy. The answer to that question is simple: follow the money. Here’s a perfect example.

As reported by the Algemeiner, “Questions are emerging over possible conflicts-of-interest after The New York Times highlighted Qatari funding for U.S. think tanks, including the Brookings Institute, employer of former U.S. envoy Martin Indyk, who was directly involved in recent negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.“Qatar, the small but wealthy Middle East nation, agreed last year to make a $14.8 million, four-year donation to Brookings, which has helped fund a Brookings affiliate in Qatar and a project on United States relations with the Islamic world,” according to The Times.”

If you follow the money on the campuses of many U.S .colleges and universities, you’ll find many Middle Eastern studies programs are benefactors of Saudi Arabia funding — as well as many of the mosques built in America.

But what is most disturbing about Qatar is that it is the major funding source for the Islamic terrorist group Hamas. As a matter of fact, the leader of Hamas, Khaled Meshaal, resides not in Gaza but in Qatar. Hamas chief Meshaal said on Aug 21, that “Our relationship with Qatar is not new… We appreciate Qatar’s stand, the brave political stand of its government and people,” after a meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. “Qatar’s support is not just for Hamas movement, the country extends its support to all the Palestinian people,” Meshaal said, according to local media.

And to whom did President Barack Hussein Obama release the five senior Taliban unlawful enemy combatants? Yes, to the Qataris. Let us not forget the infamous statement by Nancy Pelosi that “Hamas is a humanitarian organization” because that is what the Qataris told her. During the recent conflagration between Israel and Hamas, it was U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry who sat with Qatar and Turkey — instead of Egypt — two Islamist supporting states, to “secure” a ceasefire on behalf of Hamas. And it was a ceasefire agreement, which Hamas broke, that resulted in Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu chiding Obama to “never second guess me again.”

We shared with you here that the recent bombings in Libya by the UAE and Egypt came as Qatar provides more support to Islamic terrorists in that neighboring country — as Qatar colludes with the Muslim Brotherhood. So why with all this hard evidence are the Qataris allowed to influence an American think tank? Most disturbing, according to a report in the UK-based Telegraph, “both Qatar and Kuwait were singled out for openly, and even avidly, aiding fundraising efforts for ISIS terrorists who are currently engaged in fierce clashes with the Syrian army alongside Israel on the Golan Heights.” We’ve known Qatar is supporting ISIS for quite sometime. I suppose if Obama were to read his daily intel briefs, he’d know as well.

If it were up to me, I would cease all diplomatic relations with Qatar and expel their representatives from the U.S. I would shut down Al Uided AB outside of Doha. And I would ban all Qatar Airlines flights from entering the U.S. Any Qatari assets in the U.S. would be frozen — heck, I’d use those assets for debt reduction.

It will be interesting to see if this is a part of the Obama strategy on defeating ISIS he’ll announce on Wednesday, I know, never gonna happen under this Obama Islamist sympathetic administration. We can hope, but nothing will change.

Algemeiner says “in July, then-Israeli President Shimon Peres told United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, who was visiting the region, that Israel would not stand by while Qatar continued to finance Hamas militants. In his last full day in office, Peres, a historically dovish leader, struck a defiant tone in a statement delivered to the media after meeting Ban at the President’s Residence, in Jerusalem. “Qatar does not have the right to send money for rockets and tunnels which are fired at innocent civilians,” Peres said. “Their funding of terror the must stop.”

However, I don’t believe the UN Secretary-General would give any heed to what Peres stated since Newsweek‘s Benny Avni reported that the Qatari government also paid for the UN Secretary-General’s flight through the Middle East at the time — where his first stop was Doha, where he denounced Israel’s Operation Protective Edge.

Should the Brookings Institute — a left-leaning policy think tank — return the millions of dollars it has received from Qatar? Yes, if not, it should be viewed as an agent of Hamas operating here in the United States. It is unconscionable that such a blatant conflict of interest would be allowed to occur.

Even more disconcerting, we have willingly allowed our enemies to fund their vile terrorist aims right here in America — and the frontline advocacy group for the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas in America is the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) who has a posh office building right near Capitol Hill.

This sucks.

It was so easy to cross into the United States from Mexico, we began asking questions about the Northern border. After all, British intelligence believes more than 500 British citizens have joined ISIS, and British citizens can enter Canada without a visa.

An Iranian Christian pastor already imprisoned for his faith now faces the death penalty after being hit with a bizarre new charge called “spreading corruption on Earth.”

Supporters fear the worst for Pastor Behnam Irani, who was sentenced to six years in prison in 2011 for his Christian activities, including leading a 300-member evangelical congregation in Karaj, a city less than 15 miles outside the capital, Tehran. He is now being held in solitary confinement and suffering numerous health problems, including internal bleeding, according to advocacy group Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

CSW Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas old the website BosNewsLife.com that his group is “deeply concerned by the new charges against Pastor Irani” especially the charge of spreading corruption on Earth.”

“The charges leveled against Pastor Irani and other Christians are tantamount to an indictment of Christianity itself and mark a renewed escalation in Iran’s campaign against Persian Christians under the Rouhani presidency,” Thomas said in a statement.

In recent months, Irani faced brutal interrogation sessions at the hands of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security, which threatened him with additional charges.

Iranian President Hasan Rouhani, who ran for office as a moderate a year ago, has since presided over a brutal crackdown on Iran’s Christian community. Rouhani and the religious mullahs he answers to have been particularly concerned about the spread of Christianity and conversion into its Muslim population.

“There are a lot of people who are disgruntled with the government and many for comfort and peace in their lives are turning to Christianity,” Jason DeMars, founder of Present Truth Ministries, which sponsors Christian churches and outreach in the Middle East, told FoxNews.com. “That’s a threat to the regime.

“The more people who turn from Islam, the fewer people they have on their side,” DeMars added.

In separate incidents, CSW reported at least five other Christians were taken into custody this week in the Iranian city of Isfahan, and authorities confiscated Bibles, computers, cellphones and other personal items.

In Iran, the punishment for apostasy, or turning from Islam, can carry the death penalty. Currently, many Christians are facing imprisonment in Iran, including Pastor Saeed Abedini, an American citizen whose wife and two young kids remain behind in Boise, Idaho.

Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy dies at age 93

ATLANTA – S. Truett Cathy, the billionaire founder of the privately held Chick-fil-A restaurant chain that famously closes on Sundays but also drew unwanted attention on gay marriage in recent years because of his family’s conservative views, died early Monday, a company spokesman said. He was 93.

Chick-fil-A spokesman Mark Baldwin told The Associated Press that Cathy died at home surrounded by members of his family. Funeral plans had not yet been finalized, he said.

Cathy opened his first postwar diner in an Atlanta suburb in 1946 and by 1967 he had founded and opened his first Chick-fil-A Inc. restaurant in Atlanta. Over ensuing decades, the chain’s boneless chicken sandwich he is credited with inventing would propel Chick-fil-A expansion to more than 1,800 outlets in 39 states and the nation’s capital. By early 2013, the company says on its website, annual sales topped $5 billion as the chain offered up a taste of the South that went beyond chicken to such offerings as sweet tea, biscuits and gravy.

Under the religiously conservative founder, the chain gained prominence for its Bible Belt observance of Sunday — none of its hundreds of restaurants are open on that day, to allow employees a day of rest. Its executives often said the chain made as much money in six days as its competitors do in seven.

Those religious views helped win Cathy and his family loyal following from conservative customers, but also invited protests when Cathy’s son denounced gay marriage.

Cathy’s son, Dan, who is currently chairman and president of the chain, had told the Baptist Press in 2012 that the company was “guilty as charged” for backing “the biblical definition of a family.” Gay rights groups and others called for boycotts and kiss-ins at Cathy’s restaurants. The Jim Henson Co. pulled its Muppet toys from kids’ meals, while politicians in Boston and Chicago told the chain it is not welcome there.

The controversy later subsided.

The family-owned company has said it has had 46 consecutive years of positive sales growth. Cathy’s $6 billion fortune as the founder of Chick-fil-A puts him on the yearly Forbes magazine list of the wealthiest Americans in the country. The company has listed him on its website as its chairman emeritus after he left day-to-day operations to younger generations.

Truett Cathy began his career in the restaurant business by opening with his brother in 1946 an Atlanta diner called The Dwarf Grill, which was named for the short and stout shape of the restaurant.

He has attributed his hardworking nature — even as a little boy he made money by selling six bottles of Coca-Cola for a quarter — to growing up poor.

“I’ve experienced poverty and plenty and there’s a lesson to be learned when you’re brought up in poverty,” he said in 2007. “I had to create some good work habits and attitude.”

Even well into his 80s, Cathy was actively involved in the chain’s operations, including setting up a contract with his children that said they may sell the privately-owned chain in the future but the company must never go public.

“Why would I retire from something I enjoy doing?” Cathy said in a 2007 interview. “I can hardly wait to get here.”

An opportunity in 1961 led to the development of the restaurant chain’s trademark chicken sandwich when a company that cooked boneless, skinless chicken for airline meals wanted to sell him pieces that were too big for the airline customer’s needs. Cathy took those pieces and cooked them in a pressure cooker and served them in buttered buns.

The sandwich was sold at independent restaurants for a few years before he opened his first Chick-fil-A restaurant at an Atlanta shopping mall in 1967.

Cathy also was known for his efforts to help youth. In 1984 he created the WinShape Foundation to help “shape winners” through youth support programs and scholarships. He also created a long-term program for foster children that has foster care homes in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Brazil.

His sympathy for children was demonstrated in August 2008 when he worked out a deal with the parents of two girls who were accused of causing $30,000 in damage to a home he owned in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The girls were banned from watching TV and playing video games. They also had to write “I will not vandalize other people’s property” 1,000 times.

He told the Daytona Beach News-Journal that he didn’t want to have them prosecuted and left with a criminal record.

As the author of several books, his 2007 book “How Did You Do It, Truett?” outlined his strategy for success that included setting priorities, being courteous, cautiously expanding a business and not being burdened with debt.

“There’s really no secret for success,” he said then. “I hope it will open eyes for people. They don’t have to follow my recipe but this is what works for me.”

Two Russian strategic bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United States during a training mission last week that defense officials say appeared timed to the NATO summit in Wales.

The Russian Tu-95 Bear bombers were tracked flying a route across the northern Atlantic near Iceland, Greenland, and Canada’s northeast.

Analysis of the flight indicated the aircraft were conducting practice runs to a pre-determined “launch box”—an optimum point for firing nuclear-armed cruise missiles at U.S. targets, said defense officials familiar with intelligence reports.

Disclosure of the nuclear bombing practice comes as a Russian general last week called for Moscow to change its doctrine to include preemptive nuclear strikes on the United States and NATO.

Gen. Yuri Yakubov, a senior Defense Ministry official, was quoted by the state-run Interfax news agency as saying that Russia’s 2010 military doctrine should be revised to identify the United States and the NATO alliance as enemies, and clearly outline the conditions for a preemptive nuclear strike against them.

Yakubov said among other needed doctrinal changes, “it is necessary to hash out the conditions under which Russia could carry out a preemptive strike with the Russian Strategic Rocket Forces”—Moscow’s nuclear forces.

The practice bombing runs are the latest in a series of incidents involving threatening Russian bomber flights near the United States. Analysts say the bomber flights are nuclear saber-rattling by Moscow as a result of heightened tensions over the crisis in Ukraine.

A spokesman for the U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command declined to comment on the bomber flights in the North Atlantic.

No U.S. or Canadian fighter jets were scrambled to intercept the Bear-H bombers since the aircraft stayed outside the North American Air Defense Identification Zone.

Additional details of the incident that took place over the Labrador Sea, the stretch of the Atlantic between Greenland and Canada’s Labrador Peninsula, could not be learned.

However, officials said it took place during the NATO summit in Wales that was held Thursday and Friday.

The summit statement criticized “Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine [which] have fundamentally challenged our vision of a Europe whole, free, and at peace.”

In response to Russia’s actions, the alliance agreed to create a new Very High Readiness Joint Task Force in Eastern Europe that can deploy military forces in days.

“If required, they will also facilitate reinforcement of allies located at NATO’s periphery for deterrence and collective defense,” the NATO statement said.

U.S. Army troops will lead an international military exercise inside western Ukraine later this month. The exercises, known as “Rapid Trident 2014,” will begin Sept. 15 and include troops from several NATO and NATO-partner states, including Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Canada, Georgia, Germany, Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the United States.

Russian nuclear forces will conduct a large-scale exercise in mid-September, state news agencies reported.

The Tu-95 is a nuclear-capable bomber that is outfitted with six AS-15 nuclear-armed cruise missiles. The missiles have a range of over 1,800 miles.

Google Earth analysis reveals that a Tu-95 launch box located in the Labrador Sea and firing AS-15 missiles would be in range of Ottawa, New York, Washington, and Chicago, and could reach as far south as the Norfolk Naval base.

However, air-launched cruise missiles fired from that location and outside the air defense identification zone would be unable to reach Kings Bay, Georgia—the homeport for U.S. ballistic missile submarines and a key strategic nuclear target.

Mark Schneider, a former Pentagon strategic policymaker and currently senior analyst at the National Institute for Public Policy, said Russian leaders frequently issue public nuclear threats because they regard their nuclear arsenal as the main element of their great power status.

“Putin began what he called bomber ‘combat patrols’ in 2007 and they continue,” Schneider said. “They are designed to intimidate as well as practice nuclear bomber attacks.”

Schneider said that since the Ukraine crisis triggered by Moscow’s military annexation of Crimea, “there have been substantial numbers of all types of standard Russian nuclear threats.”

He said the threats have included nuclear exercises, bomber flights, and public statements, including Putin’s suggestion that NATO ‘not mess with us’ because Moscow remains a nuclear power.

Northern Command has confirmed that Russian strategic bomber flights increased sharply over the past six months.

Last month, at least 16 bomber incursions by the Russians took place within the northwestern U.S. and Canadian air defense zones over a period 10 days. It was the largest number of incursions since the end of the Cold War. U.S. fighter jets intercepted the Russian aircraft and followed them until they exited the defense zone.

In June, Russian bombers flew over the arctic prompting intercepts by Canadian fighters on two occasions. The Canadian government called the stepped up bomber flights a “strategic message” from Moscow amid heightened tensions.

And on June 20, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the test launch of six AS-15 missiles from a Bear bomber during military exercises.

That same month, on June 9, two Russian Bear bombers flew within 50 miles of the California coast in the closest strategic bomber flights near a U.S. coast since the Cold War with the Soviet Union.

Admiral Cecil Haney, commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, which is in charge of nuclear forces, said last month that he is concerned both by large-scale Russian nuclear exercises and by increased bomber flights near the United States.

“Clearly, we at the U.S. Strategic Command do monitor the strategic environment,” Haney said noting large-scale nuclear exercises during the Ukraine crisis.

“Any nation state has the right to train,” he added. “It’s just interesting how that information [on nuclear forces exercises] is readily available on YouTube. Clearly, the actions associated with Ukraine are problematic.”

On long-range strategic aircraft flights, Haney said: “I will say that the business of them coming close to the United States of America, we take very seriously.”

Obama’s ISIS strategy ‘dead in the water’

140907obamaconfused WASHINGTON – If President Barack Obama is looking for help from a coalition of Sunni-majority countries to resist the Islamic State, or ISIS, the consensus among regional analysts and military experts is that it won’t work.

Obama has been pushing at the recent NATO summit for the formation of a coalition to resist ISIS, but Great Britain has been stressing such a force should not be Western led. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and other administration officials have, in turn, been reaching out to nations across the Middle East.

Many of the key Sunni countries, such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, however, not only channel money to ISIS, but also have militaries inferior, particularly in command and control and tactical maneuvering, to ISIS’ capabilities – and its fanaticism and ferocity on the battlefield.

ISIS was able to score early battlefield successes against an Iraqi army that initially scattered upon being attacked, abandoning much of its modern – and expensive – Western military equipment for ISIS’ use.

This development came after the United States over a decade had spent hundreds of billions of dollars to train and equip the Iraqi army, only to have it evaporate on ISIS’ initial assaults into the country last June.

This acquisition of powerful military hardware, along with its takeover of oil wells and the robbing of banks approaching a billion dollars, allowed the Sunni jihadist group to incorporate vast amounts of territory, military bases and other strategic infrastructure facilities, which the Iraqi army now finds difficult, if not impossible, to retrieve.

Military experts point out that ISIS already has begun to adapt to air power attacks from the United States and even Syria, which has attacked ISIS positions around Raqqa, a Syrian city the ISIS announced as capital of its caliphate under which all like-minded extremist Sunnis are expected to live under strict Shariah law – or be killed.

While western airpower attacks have in some ways blunted ISIS’ advances in recent weeks, particularly around critical strategic locations such as dams in Iraq, ISIS is modifying its approach away from large convoys of vehicles that expose its positions to artillery fire.

ISIS has begun to downsize its forces to company and sometimes battalion-level operations, giving it even more flexibility and small-unit tactical capabilities, with mounting battlefield success. In effect, ISIS is adapting more to an asymmetrical warfare approach of unconventional warfare, or rapid-reaction guerrilla fighting, where hit-and-run tactics have proven successful in the past against standing armies.

Such an approach is opposite of how Arab countries typically operate, with large standing armies more difficult to maneuver at the tactical level. Arab armies also have a history of a lack of coordination when working with other Arab armies, especially in a unified command and control structure.

Despite its purchase of tens of billions of dollars in western military hardware, Saudi Arabia especially has displayed such obstacles in its fight against al-Qaida in neighboring Yemen. Capabilities of coordinated command and control and the ability to move armies swiftly require near constant military exercises to become proficient. However, there is no evidence such military exercises among Arab countries has taken place.

Unlike Arab armies, the ISIS leadership has diffused decision-making responsibilities to an emir, or prince, level, since caliph leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his close military advisors cannot micromanage highly dispersed units across a vast area.

“The emirs of the Islamic State there are imbued with sufficient decision-making responsibility, which, when combined with often considerable experience in small unit, indirect fire and infiltration tactics, allows them to maximize the ability and flexibility of their motorized light infantry outfits,” reports an analysis of the open intelligence group Stratfor.

This approach then allows the emir to make rapid autonomous tactical and operational decisions to take advantage of quickly changing battlefield developments.

“Instead of charging into the opponent’s carefully laid out field of fire, the Islamic State leader can probe the enemy lines for weakness,” the Stratfor analysis said. “Facing stiff resistance or coming up against an ambush, the Islamic State emir can orchestrate a rapid retreat only to wheel back and flank the enemy.”

Experts acknowledge that the inhibitions of Arab armies to work well within or in coordination with other Arab armies are not only historical but cultural.

“There are many factors – economic, ideological, technical – but perhaps the most important has to do with culture and certain societal attributes which inhibit Arabs from producing an effective military force,” asserts retired U.S. Army Col. Norvell De Atkine.

Having trained with Arab armies for years, Atkine said military decisions are made and delivered from higher ups but with very little lateral communication. While he made these and other observations initially in a 1999 Middle East Quarterly article, military experts tell WND these criticisms remain relevant to today’s Arab armies.

“This leads to a highly centralized system, with authority hardly ever delegated,” Atkine said. “Rarely does an officer make a critical decision on his own. Instead, he prefers the safe course of being identified as industrious, intelligent, loyal and compliant.’

“Bringing attention to oneself as an innovator or someone prone to make unilateral decisions is a recipe for trouble,” he said. “As in civilian life, conformism is the overwhelming societal norm, the norm that stands up gets hammed down. Orders and information flow from top to bottom. They are not to be reinterpreted, amended or modified in any way.”

“In every society information is a means of making a living or wielding power, but Arabs husband information and hold it especially tightly,” Atkine said. “U.S. trainers have often been surprised over the years by the fact that information provided to key personnel does not get much further than them.’

“Having learned to perform some complicated procedure,” Atkine said, “an Arab technician knows that he is invaluable so long as he is the only one in a unit to have that knowledge. Once he dispenses it to others, he no longer is the only font of knowledge and his power dissipates.”

In a study of Arab military effectiveness, former Central Intelligence Agency analyst and Middle East expert Kenneth Pollack of Washington-based Brookings Institution said, “Certain patterns of behavior fostered by the dominant Arab culture were the most important factors contributing to the limited military effectiveness of Arab armies and air forces from 1945 to 1991.”

He attributed these limitations to over-centralization, discouraging initiative, lack of flexibility, manipulation of information and the discouragement of leadership at the junior officer level.

Atkine referred to a comment from General George Patton on preparation which he said is absent with Arab armies.

In referring to the Roman General and later Emperor Julius Caesar, Patton said, “In the winter time … [he] so trained his legions in all that became soldiers and so habituated them to the proper performance of their duties, that when in the spring he committed them to battle against the Gauls, it was not necessary to give them orders, for they knew what to do and how to do it.”

Based on assessments from these and other military experts, this cannot be said of present-day Arab armies, thereby raising serious question on Obama’s Arab coalition strategy toward ISIS and how it will be carried out.

White Cop Fatally Shot by Black Felon; No Riots

Did you hear about the cop shooting?No, I’m not referring to the one in Ferguson, Missouri. Of course you heard about that. I’m referring to the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Ofc. Daryl Pierson of the Rochester, NY Police Department at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3. Pierson, an Afghanistan vet and father of two, was the first RPD officer killed on the job since 1959.

You should be forgiven if you didn’t know about it. After all, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times didn’t give the event 24-7 wall-to-wall saturation coverage.Just like the shooting in Ferguson, there was a racial disparity between the cop and the suspect. Unlike Ferguson, however, the decedent was white, and the perpetrator, allegedly one Thomas Johnson III, is black. News reports indicate that the alleged shooter has an extensive criminal history in two states and was paroled for a second time (after violating the terms of his first parole) less than one month before the shooting.

There were no reports of angry RPD officers looting, rioting, or committing arson in black neighborhoods. There were no reports of mobs of RPD officers standing in front of black citizens with their hands in the air shouting, “Police, don’t shoot!” There are no known videos of Ofc. Pierson robbing material for blunts from a convenience store prior to his death.

The Department of Justice did not dispatch 40 FBI agents to Rochester to investigate the alleged shooter’s background. Neither Al Sharpton nor Jesse Jackson has arrived in Rochester yet. Attorney General Eric Holder has not personally flown into Rochester to meet the victim’s family and announce a Department of Justice investigation into the incident. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has not come to Rochester to publicly demand a “vigorous prosecution” of the suspect. New York State Police have not been dispatched to quell the nonexistent cop riots. The New York State National Guard has not been called out to quell the nonexistent riots, either.

President Obama has yet to comment on the incident, but any day now he might hold a press conference and tell the White House Press corps that if he had a son, his son would look like Thomas Johnson.

And any day now, pigs will sprout wings and fly.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department has identified the officer shot and killed in the line of duty Wednesday night as Daryl Pierson.

Thomas Johnson III, 38, was arraigned Thursday evening on eight counts, including aggravated murder, attempted aggravated murder, three counts of assault, and three weapons counts, according to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.

Police and emergency crews rushed to the area of Hudson Avenue and Warsaw Street shortly before 9:30 p.m., where according to Rochester Police Chief Michael Ciminelli, Johnson shot Pierson following a foot pursuit. Ciminelli said Pierson was fatally wounded and never had a chance to fire his weapon.

At a news conference Thursday, Ciminelli said Pierson leaves behind a wife and two children, ages 4 and 3-months-old. Pierson was 32 years old.

Pierson was hired by the Rochester Police Department in 2006 and assigned to the tactical unit. He received numerous departmental awards, including the Officer of the Month in Sept. 2010, and was also a member of the U.S. Army National Guard.

“Words cannot express the sadness and grief we all feel at the loss of our brother, Officer Daryl Pierson,” Ciminelli said. “Daryl made the ultimate sacrifice, by courageously giving his life protecting the city of Rochester. During this difficult time, I know the Rochester community will join together with us to honor our fallen comrade and to support his family.”

Ciminelli said Pierson’s partner, Officer Michael DiPaola, returned fire and shot Johnson, who is in the hospital and in custody. DiPaola was turning the car around while Pierson gave chase.

Police said that Johnson had an outstanding parole warrant.

According to the Department of Corrections, Johnson is a prison parolee who was released Aug. 11. The Salvation Army stated Johnson spent the first week of his release at its facility near the Liberty Pole downtown, but stopped showing up around Aug. 15.

“To the people who want to disrupt this city, it’s unrealistic for any of us to believe we can stop you from making a tragic decision, to pull the trigger. However, I promise you, that if you decide to pull that trigger, you will be held accountable. This administration will not sit by and idly watch you wreak havoc on our city,” said Mayor Lovely Warren, D-Rochester.

An innocent bystander, Jamal Boller, was also wounded, but was released Thursday afternoon from the hospital.

BEHEADING VIDEOS: To Watch or Not to Watch

sotloff One of the top news stories of this week is the beheading of American journalist, Steven Sotloff in Syria. As we know, this is the second American journalist that recently died at the hands of these barbarians who belong to a frightening group of organized Islamic Militants called ISIS. About one month ago James Foley was killed in the exact same manner.

Since the killers are very open and proud to video-tape and then post the barbaric beheadings, we all have a choice to make, “Should we watch it?” I have not watched either killings for now and I may never do it. My husband watched the Daniel Pearl beheading a few years ago and strongly advised me not to watch. He told me that I will never sleep again and he can still vividly see that beheading in his mind today. You can’t erase those images once they are in your head. From my reactions to both beheadings without even looking at the videos, I decided to heed these warnings, but should everyone?

What was my reaction? When I heard what happened to these men, tears welled up in my eyes instantly and even as I write this. How does this happen to a human being? How do people become capable of such barbaric crimes? The executioner did wear a mask, but other than that, he proudly taped and posted his “achievements.”

This man was once a little boy obliviously running around, playing and learning from the adults around him. Now I haven’t a clue when or how this particular executioner joined ISIS, but we all know he did. Where and when did his extremely dysfunctional thinking begin? He was somehow convinced by somebody, or more than likely more than one person, that this sort of “lifestyle” is not only acceptable, but encouraged and celebrated!

We are told that investigators are suspicious, as of now, that the same man killed both journalists. We also know that at least one more person must have witnessed the crime when it was happening. Somebody held the video-taping device. I suspect more people stood by and watched, but we do have proof at least one did.

As I ponder the vicious crimes of the executioners, my thoughts shift to the mothers of these two victims. Shirley Sotloff and Diane Foley come to mind. I can’t even imagine the thoughts that go through your head as you watch your child die in such a barbaric manner! No mother wants to ever see her child be harmed no matter how old they are. The beheadings were not quick at all. From what I understand, it took a bit of time to complete the horrific crimes.

If this isn’t enough to put you into a pool of tears, then I say, “Yes! By all means watch the videos!” I wouldn’t advice it for your children, if you value your sleep. That would be completely unnecessary.

But if you are an adult that has a conscience that isn’t stirred by these terrifying acts, maybe it is time to wake yourself up. These two men were little boys at one time. Bouncing around and playing without a care in the world. I am sure both mother’s never suspected that their “bundles of joy” would ever die at the hands of Islamic militants. I think it is safe to say that in a mother’s mind, our kids are always our babies.

I suspect some of you are thinking, but these were journalists in Syria and Daniel Pearl was in Pakistan. Things like this can’t happen in America! These journalists shouldn’t have been there! Remember 9-11-2001? Remember how we saw those planes crash for a few days and then we didn’t? The people who are looking out for us thought it was best we stop seeing the footage of those planes crashing because it was so upsetting? In my opinion, “We the People of the United States” don’t get angry enough!

Now I am not saying that we should riot or anything, but how about start by just speaking up about the things that matter? Get to know people around us and start some meaningful conversations. As the anniversary of 9-11 approaches, I can’t help but think of all those victims and those victims’ families. How terrifying it must have been for all those who died that day. Thinking about those who didn’t die instantly is even more disturbing to me.

If you don’t feel really upset and angry by these beheadings, consider watching the crimes to jog your conscience. Then ask yourself some questions. In addition to some other questions I mentioned already, how about: “What is this “religion of peace called Islam?” Is it really peaceful? Why don’t the peaceful Muslims that wouldn’t kill an ant speak up against it? What do you know about all this? Learn something about it because it is here and here to stay if we don’t push back and put some pressure on those in charge of our country that truly have the power and authority to do something.

We have grown so incredibly complacent in a country that still has the power and resources to be the exceptional Nation that we still could be. “We the People of the Unites States” are dozing off and I am afraid many have already fallen into a deep sleep. It is time to pinch your neighbors! The conversation starter couldn’t be simpler. Everyone has heard about the beheadings by now and if they didn’t, might I suggest you enlighten them? Ask someone what they think and why? Get their opinion and express yours as gently, yet unapologetically, as possible. America has always been a leader because the citizens have had the freedom and courage to speak up and fight for what it right and good. Time is ticking away.

The first book I read about Islam was called Because They Hate by Brigette Gabriel, the Founder of Act for America. She is personal, honest, open, sincere and unapologetic when she writes. This is a great starting point. Just start somewhere.

Feds attempt to downplay growing spy grid

: Recent reports on rogue cell phone towers being used across the country to intercept mobile cell phone data is drawing a response from federal agents who claim the towers are not being used by law enforcement groups.

“I doubt that they are installed by law enforcement as they require a warrant to intercept conversations or data and since the cell providers are ordered by the court to cooperate with the intercept, there really would be no need for this,” former FBI agent Ross Rice told CBS Chicago. “Most likely, they are installed and operated by hackers, trying to steal personal identification and passwords.”

Despite the CBS article’s attempt to claim that law enforcement does not have access to stationary cell phone interception devices, exclusive documents provided to Infowars last year by a source within the Seattle government revealed an expansive “mesh network” throughout the city capable of intercepting cell information in real-time.

The mesh network system, funded with a $2.6 million “Port of Seattle” grant from the Department of Homeland Security, allows several groups within Seattle to communicate outside of normal cellular channels via “mesh network nodes” attached to utility poles. Beyond the simple communication aspect, the system has also been shown to be capable of collecting vast amounts of information from the city’s many surveillance systems.

One page from the document clearly details law enforcement’s involvement with federal agencies such as the local Fusion Center, a DHS-run group consisting of FBI and police who collect data on Americans deemed “extremist.”

Page 65 of the document details the Network Mesh System’s (NMS) ability to collect identifying data on anyone “accessing the network.” A public user guide from the network’s designer, Aruba Software, openly admits that “a wealth of information about unassociated devices” can be retrieve as well.

“The NMS also collects information about every Wi‐Fi client accessing the network, including its MAC address, IP address, signal intensity, data rate and traffic status,” the document reads. “Additional NMS features include a fault management system for issuing alarms and logging events according to a set of customizable filtering rules, along with centralized and version‐controlled remote updating of the Aruba Mesh Operating System software.”

Cell phone users walking within the vicinity of a network node could not only have their IP address grabbed, but even have the last 1,000 GPS locations taken as well.

The document also reveals how the system controls several other surveillance technologies such as license plate readers, which gather and store information on millions of drivers per month.

A seperate page within the document cache entitled “Police Video Diagram” shows how police vehicles even receive and control live-video feeds from the city’s expansive collection of surveillance cameras – also tied into the mesh network system.

Although the city has claimed that its cameras do not have facial recognition capabilities, the Seattle government secretly participated in the 2012 TrapWire program which used sophisticated facial recognition software, ran through the city’s surveillance cameras, to gather intelligence for federal agencies. Only two years later, the Seattle Police Department announced its plan to purchase a facial recognition program with a DHS grant to allegedly scan and compare surveillance video to the city’s mugshot database.

Although the mesh network was deactivated “until further notice” following public outcry in 2013, a civil liberties advocate testing the police department’s promise found an active network node just last month. Police explained the “rogue” device away as a simple mistake.

While some hackers do abuse similar technologies, the vast majority of surveillance abuses are carried out by local governments armed to the teeth with federally provided spy tech.

Unfortunately, rogue cell towers are only one piece of the “smart” surveillance grid currently suffocating the country. Despite claims that police need warrants to intercept people’s cell information, the deployment of Stingrays, a suitcase-sized device that mimics a cell tower, proves otherwise.

A report in Wired Magazine from last March explained how the Tallahassee Police Department had used a Stingray as many as 200 times since 2010 without ever acquiring a warrant. The department argued that a non-disclosure agreement signed with the device’s manufacturer prevented them from obtaining warrants beforehand.

Emails uncovered last June showed how the U.S. Marshals Service purposely taught police how to deceive judges when trying to acquire Stringrays. In fact, when a public records request threatened to further expose the illegal activity, U.S. Marshals stormed a Florida police department and seized all associated Stingray documents.

A report by the Tacoma News Tribune last month revealed that a Washington state police department similarly used a nondisclosure agreement with the FBI to keep their 2008 Stingray transaction private. Countless other technologies such as “Intellistreets” light fixtures, capable of recording audio and video of pedestrians passing by, have begun popping up as well in major cities such as Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, as the media focuses on malicious hackers stealing nude photographs from celebrities, the fact that police regularly use the same software remains almost completely overlooked.

Law enforcement’s fight to keep these systems in place could likely be rooted in one thing: parallel construction.

Used to conceal how a law enforcement investigation began, parallel construction allows police to create a criminal case while concealing how the evidence, often obtained illegally, was acquired.
Speaking exclusively with Infowars, NSA whistleblower Kirk Wiebe, who helped develop the data processing system ThinThread, broke down the danger of surveillance and parallel construction.

“Now we have NSA collaborating with FBI and DEA doing something called ‘Parallel Construction.’ In such a scenario, NSA sends information to a law enforcement agency, such as Drug Enforcement Agency and that agency uses the information secretly to investigate individuals, circumventing the law. No warrants,” Wiebe said.

“In fact, the agency actively covers up the source of the information to make it look like the information came out of classical law enforcement investigatory techniques. DEA has a special unit called the ‘SOD’ – Special Operations Division that does the cover up work. The legal consequence of doing this kind of surreptitious collaboration between intelligence and law enforcement is to deny an accused person their legal rights under the Constitution,” Wiebe added. “They are denied the opportunity to face their accuser because the source of the information is kept under wraps/hidden.”

Clinton wrongly wrote that the closest U.S. Special Forces that could have responded to the attacks were “standing by in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, but they would take several hours to muster and were more than five thousand miles away.”

Kennedy also denied permission to build guard towers at the Benghazi mission and approved the withdrawal of a security support team, or SST, that special U.S. forces specifically maintained for counter-attacks on U.S. embassies or threats against diplomatic personnel.

Clinton’s contention she was not informed of the general nature of security at the Benghazi facility, even though she was known to have taken a particular interest in the compound.
