Malkin: Homegrown jihadists named ‘Ali Muhammad’

fresno_attack / John Walker | The Fresno Bee

Four innocent people are dead after a black Fresno gunman shouting “Allahu akbar” went on a murderous rampage that began last week and climaxed Tuesday afternoon. His name: Kori Ali Muhammad.

When a detective asked him to clarify whether all four murders were “done for vengeance for the actions of the United States in the Middle East,” Ali Muhammad Brown stated unequivocally: “Yes.” Does the motive get any clearer than this?

As Soeren Kern, senior fellow at the Gatestone Institute warned in my new CRTV investigation of Ali Muhammad Brown: “If the police are afraid to discuss the background, what is motivating these people to do this, we’re going to see more of this incentivized a lot of these jihadists.”

“Too early” to call the Fresno jihad a jihad.

Too late for the victims of another Ali Muhammad targeting innocent civilians as Islamic payback on American soil.

A 23-year-old Christian tourist was stabbed to death by a Palestinian man as Christians gathered to celebrate Good Friday, ABC News reports. The attack comes as Christians around the world commemorate the day Jesus Christ was crucified and died, rising from the dead three days later on Easter — the highest Christian holy day.christian-persecution

The attack took place on a tram close to the Old City, where tourists from around the world have come to commemorate Easter and Passover. The woman died shortly after she was brought to a medical facility, despite efforts to save her. The 57-year old Palestinian attacker was apprehended by police.

Local media quoted witnesses as saying the man stabbed the woman multiple times. Reports said a pregnant woman was injured when the light rail came to a sudden stop. The attacker was apprehended by officers at the scene, police said.

Reports indicate two others were injured as well.

According to ABC News, Palestinians have killed 42 Israelis and two visiting Americans since September 2015. The Palestinian Authority regularly incites violence and acts of terror against Christians and Jews in Israel.against-america

Governments around the world are taking steps to prevent attacks by radical Islamic terrorists over the Easter holiday. Authorities in Kosovo claim they have already intercepted plans for such an attack.

Justice for Brian Terry: Cartel member suspected of murdering border agent with Fast & Furious gun finally arrested

URL of the original posting site: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2017/04/justice-for-brian-terry-cartel-member-suspected-of-murdering-border-agent-with-fast-furious

Nearly seven years after the untimely and tragic death of fallen Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, his suspected murderer — a member of a Mexican cartel — has finally been apprehended in Mexico, bringing a bit more closure to the deadly result of Obama’s “Fast and Furious Scandal.”

Terry lost his life in a shootout along the Mexico border with cartel thugs just 10 days before Christmas in 2010. The guns used be the thugs in the firefight, it was later revealed, had been obtained via an undercover United States government operation.

Here’s the story as reported by Fox News:

The suspect, Heraclio Osorio-Arellanes, was apprehended by a joint U.S.-Mexico law enforcement task force that included the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals and the Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC).

A $250,000 reward had been sought for information leading to the arrest of Osorio-Arellanes, who was captured at a ranch on the border of the Mexican states of Sinaloa and Chihuahua. U.S. authorities have said they will seek his extradition.

Four other cartel members present at the 2010 gunfight have already been sentenced to jail in the United States, with one pleading guilty to first-degree murder in 2014. However, Jesus Rosario Favela-Astorga — the last remaining member of the crew — is still believed to be at large.

living nextdoor to youTerry’s death ended up setting off a chain of events that would expose the Obama administration’s now-infamous Operation Fast and Furious. The scandal started in 2009, when the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms hatched a plan to release firearms into the hands of international criminals, and let them walk across the border with the intent of tracking them once they went to Mexico.

But once the guns got to Mexico, it was like they had vanished into the wind. Reports would later reveal the ATF made no real effort to trace the guns once they were out of the United States.

Why

Documents uncovered by investigators showed the operation was a Machiavellian effort by Obama officials to make the case for stricter gun control. A CBS report from 2012 demonstrated that part of the plan was to let guns fall into the hands of people who would use them to commit crimes, and then ride the political blowback to increase regulations on firearms sales here in the United States.partyof-deceit-spin-and-lies

Two of “walked” guns were found at the scene of Brian Terry’s murder.

While Terry is the only known American to have died as a result of the ATF operation, it may never be known just how many innocent Mexican lives have been taken by cartel violence with weapons supplied by Obama’s first presidential scandal.

Following a media firestorm and congressional investigation, the operation was shuttered. But none the shame Obama and then-Attorney General Eric Holder endured during the fallout brought Agent Terry back, nor did it bring back the hundreds of firearms still in the hands of Mexican gang members.

Perspective: Trump scored big, using a conventional speech to kick off an unconventional presidency

Donald Trump in Mesa, AZ / Gage Skidmore | Flickr

State of the Union Addresses are usually full of carefully-crafted platitudes presenting the president’s agenda in a unifying tone from a position of strength. Typically, no new ground is plowed at these events. In recent years, they have fallen flat for presidents of both parties. But given that Trump is such an unconventional president, a conventional policy speech — carefully crafted with a serious but upbeat tone — is exactly what he needed in order to recover his stalled momentum.

In many ways this was the best speech he has given to date. In fact, it was a perfect presentation of his agenda. To be clear, not all of his agenda is conservative, but that is already baked into the cake. Amidst a month of endless muddled messaging, ramblings about the media, Republican infighting, and competing factions within his own administration, last night was his only opportunity to take his message directly to the American people. It was also a time to move beyond campaign rhetoric and embrace the reality of his party controlling all of government and the need for a forward-looking message.

Here are my quick observations on the policy aspects of the speech, divided into what conservatives should consider good and bad..

THE GOOD

1. Immigration:

Coming into the speech, rumors were swirling in the media that Trump would embrace some sort of amnesty. Not only did that not occur, but Trump reclaimed the term “immigration reform” and used it to describe what the word truly means: finally restoring our immigration system to its historical values before Ted Kennedy destroyed it. That means only admitting immigrants who love our values, do not become a public charge, and do not threaten our way of life. It also means implementing a sane legal immigration system that is not based on chain migration. He put Democrats on defense so that they will have to explain why they oppose merit-based immigration.. For those of us who’ve worked on this issue for years, this speech was just what the doctor ordered.

2. Refugees:

Trump spoke to the morality, not just the legality, of his immigration moratorium, which we called on him to do earlier this week. As Trump said,

“It is not compassionate, but reckless, to allow uncontrolled entry from places where proper vetting cannot occur. Those given the high honor of admission to the United States should support this country and love its people and its values.” He also charted a completely new path on the entire premise and goal of refugee policy: “The only long-term solution for these humanitarian disasters is to create the conditions where displaced persons can safely return home and begin the long process of rebuilding.”

3. Obamacare:

Earlier today, I laid down the gauntlet for Trump to finally speak directly to the problems of Obamacare. I argued he needed to call for full repeal and hold Democrats accountable for creating this disaster but then blocking its solution. Trump did not disappoint in the macro-messaging. The guiding principles he laid out on health care were sound. He actually touched on the central point missed by GOP congressional leadership — that we should focus on lowering costs rather than expanding coverage as an end to itself, saying: “The way to make health insurance available to everyone is to lower the cost of health insurance, and that is what we will do.” Unfortunately, he contradicted that messaging by hinting at a pre-existing condition mandate and refundable tax credits — two elements of the establishment plan that will actually keep prices high. Nonetheless, the overall plan was as good as we can hope for from any Republican at this moment and needs to be bolstered by allies in the administration.complete-message

4. Foreign policy:

Although the details were a little sparse for a speech this long, he made it clear that the era of nation building is over. “My job is not to represent the world. My job is to represent the United States of America,” said Trump in a very effective punchline. At the same time, President Trump spoke to defending American security without apologizing and waging an unflinching war against radical Islamic terror. And thank God, as this is the first time in years a president has mentioned our alliance with Israel without pushing the odious “two state solution.”

5. Drugs and crime:

Although crime is a policy mainly dealt with on a state level, I’m glad Trump used his “job” as ‘citizen in chief’ to address rising crime rates. This is one area of Trumpism that is actually more in line with traditional conservatism, even though it deviates from the current dogma among “right-leaning” policy elites. The same is true for the drug epidemic. He let the liberal open borders crowd own the disaster that is taking place in our communities thanks to drugs pouring over the border.

THE BAD

1. No mention of life and religious liberty:

While we’ve come to expect social conservatism to take a back seat, it’s a shame that these issues didn’t even receive the traditional obligatory mention, especially given the persecution that is taking place at the hands of the sexual identity lobby and the courts. He could have easily woven in respect for the conscience and private property decisions of others into this unifying speech and would have been a good ambassador for the cause. He won with overwhelming support from evangelicals and other faith-based groups in this country. It’s a shame they were left out tonight. Then again, the rest of the party is just as bad on this issue, so it’s not as if Trump is changing the party’s true position. Nonetheless, conservatives need to fight harder to address fundamental rights and judicial reform.amen

Let our policies stand on their own merits and the media’s desire to destroy them will be that much harder.

2. Ivankacare, porkulous, spending, and debt:

As always, there was no mention of balancing the budget, the threat of debt, or the need to cut spending. In addition, President Trump promoted “Ivankacare” and the full blown $1 trillion porkulous he calls an infrastructure rebuilding package. Conservatives should not back down in their opposition to these bad ideas. We don’t need another massive entitlement; we need to repeal Obamacare so that mothers don’t have to work more to pay for a second mortgage. Likewise, the talk of “crumbling infrastructure” is a dubious left-wing talking point. And to the extent there are problems with our infrastructure it’s because of the inefficient, failed federal monopoly on highway spending. Trump said, “the time has come for a new program of national rebuilding.” He is right, it’s time to devolve transportation and education spending to the states in order to improve those important functions.amen

Moreover, Trump must remember that we cannot have economic growth with such long-term debt. Also, the trade deficit he speaks of is only a problem because of our fiscal deficit and the misallocation of investments pouring into this country.

3. The protectionist trade policies:

Nothing new here, but still very problematic. Much of the appeal of “buy America” and “stopping companies from going overseas” stems from the general feeling that we have lost our economy and sovereignty. But were Trump to really propose a solid agenda ending venture socialism — taxation, regulation, and subsidization — along with his virtuous immigration ideas, those problems would go away over time and trade won’t have to be the bogeyman. Furthermore, enactment of true free market policies is the best way to keep companies in America.

Overall, there was really nothing new regarding Trump’s non-conservative views, and I believe they were overshadowed by the solid parts of his speech on immigration and Obamacare. It’s something we must continue to work on as we fight to defend his good policies.

President Trump must now harness the energy from this successful speech and deliver specific policies to Congress on taxes, immigration, and health care. He must whip GOP leaders into shape, get everyone in his administration on the same page, stay on message, and let his policies speak above the rancor of the media. Trump should focus relentlessly on his policies (hopefully the more conservative ones) and back them up with a series of policy speeches while simply ignoring the media. Yes, the media is the enemy, but we must not be our own worst enemy. Let our policies stand on their own merits and the media’s desire to destroy them will be that much harder.

3 media lies about the Obama legacy that just won’t die

1) President Obama “saved us from the Great Recession”

President Obama saved us from the Great Recession? What kind of nonsense is this? Presidents, whether they’re Democrats or Republicans, don’t produce jobs or economic productivity; the American people do.

Presidents can advocate for a series of policies which can grease the skids of economic growth, or they can advocate for a series of policies which drop monkey-wrenches into the economic machinery. But they do not produce economic growth; President Obama hasn’t spent one minute in a factory building a car, despite his claims about “saving General Motors.”

Sadly, economic recessions have occurred often throughout American history. Poor fiscal and monetary policies, combined with plain-old bad business decision-making, have produced economic recessions, both deep and shallow, for hundreds of years. Yet, we have recovered from ALL of these recessions. Think about it this way … (you’re still here, correct?): We are still living, despite the ongoing struggles of our economy, at a higher standard of living than our parents, and our parents largely said the same.

So, if we’ve always recovered from recessions, then isn’t HOW we’ve recovered — not IF we’ve recovered — from a recession a more appropriate tool to evaluate the economic record of a president? Using that simple and reasonable measure, how have we recovered from the recession during the Obama years? Unfortunately, this is the worst recovery in modern American history, based on GDP growth numbers.

The magnitude of an economic recession is measured by negative growth, and the corresponding recoveries are measured by positive growth. President Obama is the gold medal award-winner for slow growth. Compounding the Obama economic disaster is the fact that he will likely leave office as the first president in American history to NEVER reach 3 percent GDP growth in any year of his presidency. Now, tell me again how President Obama “saved” the American economy.

2) President Obama improved both race relations and international relations

These myths are so absurd, and so easily falsifiable, that I’m astonished that President Obama and his Leftist monster racemessaging deputies dare to repeat it. If race relations had improved during the Obama tenure, then any reasonable person would assume that when you ask the American people about the state of race relations, they would confirm this finding. But not only do credible polls fail to find evidence of improved race relations, they find the OPPOSITE to be true; the majority of Americans believe race relations are worse.

On the international front, it’s a hardy challenge to find one corner of the globe where international relationships have improved under President Obama. It’s doubly ironic that our relationship with the Russians — arguably our most critical international relationship in terms of national security — is in tatters.

President Obama laughed off Mitt Romney during the 2012 campaign debate when Romney cited Russia as a critical national security concern. Yet the Obama administration now leaves office desperately trying to convince the American people that the “laughable” Russian threat actually tipped the scales of an American election.

So which is it, Barack Obama? Is the Russian threat one big joke (as you implied when you were campaigning), or is it a lethal threat to American democracy (as your administration and your party are now suggesting)?

3) Obamacare fixed the “preexisting condition” problem and provided health insurance for 20 million people

It’s tragic that so many in the mainstream media appear incapable of telling the American people the truth complete-messageabout Obamacare. The ACA’s failures are obvious by using President Obama’s and the Democrats’ very own markers. Their claims about “keeping your plan” and cost-cutting have been shown to be ridiculous. But, not willing to admit failure, the Obama administration and its media allies continue to cherry-pick data and to make outrageous claims about Obamacare.

Obamacare didn’t “fix” the preexisting condition problem by declaring it so; frankly, the president’s health care plan likely worsened it. Having healthcare insurance and having access to healthcare are NOT the same thing. Whether you have a preexisting medical condition or not, you are now living with the exploding costs of healthcare due to massive, Obamacare-induced premium hikes, while also dealing with evaporating insurance plan options and shrinking hospital and doctor networks.

It’s way past time to put these misleading Obama administration myths to bed and to tell the American people the truth.AMEN

It doesn’t do anyone, regardless of the status of their health, any good to have health insurance without access to actual health care. Besides, this problem was already being worked on at the state level, without hiking premiums and destroying our access to doctors.

Regarding the “Obamacare insured 20 million people” myth, this appears to be another fabrication. This figure is based on questionable survey data not actual health insurance industry enrollment statistics. A recent report by The Heritage Foundation’s Edmund Haislmaier and Drew Gonshorowski — covered by The Daily Signal — showed that the net number of American adults over 26 who have acquired private insurance plans through Obamacare is closer to 2.3 million.

Now, tell me again about how wonderful Obamacare is after upending the entire healthcare industry, hiking premiums, and shrinking access to health care while “insuring” less than 1 percent of the U.S. population.

It’s way past time to put these misleading Obama administration myths to bed and to tell the American people the truth.partyof-deceit-spin-and-lies
