Left-wing officials angry that ‘anti-LGBTQ’ Franklin Graham, Samaritan’s Purse are helping NYC coronavirus victims. Officials get smacked right down.

Upon hearing the news that Samaritan’s Purse — the relief organization run by Christian evangelist Franklin Graham — is coming to the aid of coronavirus victims in New York City by setting up a temporary hospital in Central Park, a couple of officials were none too pleased.

Who are the officials, and what did they say?

First up was New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson, who tweeted a statement berating the development: “Franklin Graham has a long history of spewing anti-LGBTQ hate speech, and I find it extremely troubling that he and his organization are involved in our relief efforts in any way. New York City is known around the world for its embrace of diversity, and Franklin Graham has spent his career standing against these values. I will be monitoring this situation closely and making sure that our city’s values are being represented at all times.”

Then there was New York state Sen. Brad Hoylman, who tweeted that “it’s a shame that the federal government has left New York with no other choice but to accept charity from bigots.”In a statement on his official Senate page, Hoylman called Graham a “notorious anti-LGBTQ pastor”and said he put Graham “on notice” that Samaritan’s Purse must “treat all COVID-19 patients equally at the new medical tents.”

Here’s Hoylman’s full statement:

COVID-19 doesn’t discriminate, and neither should Franklin Graham. It’s unacceptable that a New Yorker infected with COVID-19 could be subjected to discriminatory treatment from an organization whose leader calls us “immoral” and “detestable.”

Today I’m calling on Franklin Graham to publicly assure LGBTQ New Yorkers that they will receive the same treatment as anyone else at the Central Park field hospital. The City of New York and the Mount Sinai hospital network must monitor conditions closely at Graham’s facility and ensure every single LGBTQ patient is treated fairly. We cannot abandon our moral compass in the middle of a pandemic.

Sadly, beggars can’t be choosers: New York needs every ventilator we can get. But homophobic pastor Franklin Graham and his field hospital operation in Central Park must guarantee all LGBTQ patients with COVID-19 are treated with dignity and respect.

We’ll be watching.

What was the reaction?

While Johnson and Hoylman tickled a few itching ears with their decidedly virtue-signaling statements, quite a few others found their words rather, er, prejudiced:

  • “The vast majority of voters see this as a group of well intended people bringing hope and light into a dark place right now. Put the partisan politics aside for a season and be thankful for the people willing to serve NYC. This is not the time to score political points sir.”
  • “Now we can all really see where the actual hate comes from.”
  • “As a gay New Yorker, I’d like to sit down with them over a cup of coffee and thank them for putting themselves in harm’s way. That’s how change of heart happens. They are risking their lives. We should be grateful.”
  • “It’s a shame that idiots like you would rather people die than have someone you don’t agree with help them.”
  • “Christians build a free hospital to help New Yorkers survive this crisis and you complain? Despicable.”
  • “Whose the bigot? Christians believe what they believe. Get over it. They love people they disagree with. Even you!”
  • “Let it go. They are compassionate and want to help. Now who’s the bigot?”
  • “Virtue-signaling boob.”
  • “And spare us your woke outrage. Holding a sincerely held religious belief about marriage (I personally think his scripture read is wrong) is not the same as hate speech. Your religious intolerance in the name of wokeness is a bigger threat to our republic.”
  • “It’s pretty clear who’s there to help New Yorkers and who’s there to mouth off on twitter and do absolutely nothing.”

How did Graham respond?

“We do not make distinctions about an individual’s religion, race, sexual orientation, or economic status. We certainly do not discriminate, and we have a decades-long track record that confirms just that,” Graham told NBC News in a statement. “This is a time for all of us to unite and work together, regardless of our political views. Let’s support one another during this crisis, and we pray that God will bless the efforts of all those battling this vicious virus.”

MSNBC Asks Franklin Graham About Trump’s “Sin Problem,” So He Brings Up Obama

If there’s one network that shouldn’t be questioning someone’s morality, it’s most definitely MSNBC. The hypocrisy

Evangelist Franklin Graham

and bias that spews from that network is second to none. So, when they began to question the morality of President Donald Trump, evangelist Franklin Graham had a few words for them.

Over the weekend, son of famous evangelist Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, appeared on MSNBC. Over the course of a fairly lengthy interview, host Alex Witt asked Graham a series of questions regarding President Trump and his policies.

But then, in what would appear to be a “gotcha” question, Witt asked Graham if Trump had a “sin problem.” She recounted the “Access Hollywood” tape and even the porn star with whom Trump allegedly had an affair (an accusation that has yet to be proven).

“I can promise you, he is not President Perfect…and I don’t think I’ve seen a President Perfect yet,” Graham began.

He continued, “He’s not a perfect person, and neither am I.”

His comments in response to the “sin problem” question start at approximately 5:11:

Graham said he’s not holding the president up as the pastor of this country, and that he appreciates the fact that the president has a concern for Christians in this country and around the world. He also said he continues to pray for the president on a continual basis.

Witt then tried to trap Graham by asking, “If he were a Democrat, you would be as forgiving?”

“Sure. Under President Obama, I prayed for him,” Graham recounted. But then, he dropped a nuke. He said that he prayed for Obama even after he, Graham, was targeted by the Obama administration.

Graham’s Christian organization Samaritan’s Purse and Billy Graham were both targeted with IRS audits because they wouldn’t support Obama due to his stance on abortion and same-sex marriage. How does Graham know he was targeted? Both organization got the same IRS audit letter on the very same day. Graham says that it cost him a lot of money to deal with the audit. However, he said that despite being audited, it didn’t stop him from “praying for the man.” This isn’t the first time Graham has said that he prayed for Obama.

In fact, in a Thanksgiving message, Graham told his supporters, “Having just come through a divisive national election, I am urging pastors across this country to lead their congregations in praying daily for our president, Barack Obama … for wisdom, Divine guidance, and that God would accomplish His will and purposes.”

“While politics is noticeably partisan, prayer must never be partisan. Americans need to come together, and people of faith should lead the way, by praying diligently for our leaders, whether or not they agree with them or their policies,” he continued.

Graham also went on Fox News on Sunday and said that Trump has done more to defend Christianity than any other president in modern history.

“I find him to be a person concerned about the religious freedoms of Americans, but not just us here in this country, but he’s concerned about the religious freedom of people in other countries,” he said.

So, is President Trump the perfect president? No. But like Graham said, there has never been a perfect president, and there never will be.

Although if you ask liberals, I’m sure they would give you a couple of contenders for a “President Perfect.” But then again, liberals are living in a world quite disconnected from reality.

Falwell Praises Trump For ‘Bold Truthful’ Words On Charlottesville

Reported

URL of the original posting site: http://www.westernjournalism.com/falwell-praises-trump-bold-truthful-words-charlottesville/

President Donald Trump received a ringing endorsement Wednesday from one evangelical supporter who is not turning his back on the president.

“Finally a leader in WH. Jobs returning, N Korea backing down, bold truthful stmt about #charlottesville tragedy. So proud of @realdonaldtrump,” Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. tweeted.

On Tuesday, Trump said both sides in the Charlottesville violence were to blame for letting unrest get out of hand. Falwell is not the only major evangelical figure to support Trump.

On Sunday, when many voices were condemning Trump for blaming both sides in his response to Saturday’s violence in Charlottesville, Rev. Franklin Graham stood by him.

“Shame on the politicians who are trying to push blame on President Trump for what happened in #Charlottesville, VA. That’s absurd,” Graham wrote on his Facebook page.

“What about the politicians such as the city council who voted to remove a memorial that had been in place since 1924, regardless of the possible repercussions? How about the city politicians who issued the permit for the lawful demonstration to defend the statue? And why didn’t the mayor or the governor see that a powder keg was about to explode and stop it before it got started? Instead they want to blame President Donald J. Trump for everything,” he wrote.

Graham said that the division taking place furthers the ends of Satan.

“Really, this boils down to evil in people’s hearts. Satan is behind it all. He wants division, he wants unrest, he wants violence and hatred. He’s the enemy of peace and unity. I denounce bigotry and racism of every form, be it black, white or any other. My prayer is that our nation will come together. We are stronger together, and our answers lie in turning to God,” he wrote.

Some clergy backed Trump’s comments Monday condemning neo-Nazis.

“I condemn the forces of white nationalism, white supremacy and anti-Semitism that divide our country today, and I also condemn those who seek to politicize it all for their political gain,” said minister Samuel Rodriguez, who took part in Trump’s inauguration.

“Unless, we bridge this senseless and partisan divide there will be more horrors to come. It’s on each of us to be a part of solution and it begins with turning our political swords into plowshares. We must begin to work together to heal our nation,” he said.

FRANKLIN GRAHAM: Weighs In On Trump’s Sex Comments From 2005 – You’ll Be SHOCKED!

Franklin Graham isn’t timid. He speaks his mind and is unapologetic about his faith. He even held a ‘Decision America Tour’ ahead of the Presidential Campaign, insisting that America needs a ‘moral revival’ or it will fall.

Here is the full text of his Facebook post:

The crude comments made by Donald J. Trump more than 11 years ago cannot be defended. But the godless progressive agenda of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton likewise cannot be defended. I am not endorsing any candidates in this election. I have said it throughout this presidential campaign, and I will say it again—both candidates are flawed. The only hope for the United States is God. Our nation’s many sins have permeated our society, leading us to where we are today. But as Christians we can’t back down from our responsibility to remain engaged in the politics of our nation. On November 8th we will all have a choice to make. The two candidates have very different visions for the future of America. The most important issue of this election is the Supreme Court. That impacts everything. There’s no question, Trump and Clinton scandals might be news for the moment, but who they appoint to the Supreme Court will remake the fabric of our society for our children and our grandchildren, for generations to come.AMEN

Franklin Graham: Jenner Posing Nude Is Proof Of US Moral Bankruptcy

waving flagBy: Scott Mason on May 12, 2016

Graham believes Jenner posing for Sports Illustrated is just a sign of the moral decay in American culture. “What happens when you remove biblical standards and leadership from a country? Moral bankruptcy, that’s what,” Graham said, adding, “As our culture abandons its once cherished Judeo-Christian foundation and values, godly traditions disappear and we sink deeper into secularism.”

Graham wasn’t finished expressing his frustration with the destruction of American morality, also citing a New York Times article that debated whether prostitution should be decriminalized, and rumors that Elsa, a character in Disney’s “Frozen,” should be a lesbian and have a girlfriend in the movie’s sequel.

“In the social media campaign for this, one proponent tweeted, ‘Little kids need to learn that there’s nothing wrong with being gay,’” he said. “What a lie! This reveals their agenda to get the LGBT message to young children and influence their lives.”AMEN

In a different Facebook post from earlier this week, Graham defended North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory and the fight over the state’s transgender bathroom bill against the federal government, an ordinance which has ignited a national firestorm.

“This is far reaching — it impacts every state and every family in our nation, not just North Carolina,” said Graham. “Let’s pray for Gov. McCrory and all those fighting this battle for what is right.”AMEN

Franklin Graham Hears Professor Say Christians And Muslims Worship Same God, Can’t Hold Back Any Longer…

waving flagReported by  Randy DeSoto January 25, 2016

Franklin Graham has weighed in on a controversy at a celebrated evangelical Christian university, where a professor claims that Christians and Muslims pray to the same God.

CaptureDr. Larycia Hawkins, a political science professor at Wheaton College (the “evangelical Harvard”), faces dismissal after she started wearing a Muslim hijab and asserting that Christians, Muslims and Jews worship the same God.

“I stand in religious solidarity with Muslims because they, like me, a Christian, are people of the book,” she wrote in a Dec. 10 Facebook post. “And as Pope Francis stated last week, we worship the same God.”cause of death

Following reports last week that the Wheaton Faculty Council voted unanimously to retain Hawkins, Franklin Graham wrote a Facebook post expressing his disappointment with the university:

“Both my father Billy Graham and my mother attended Wheaton College in Illinois–in fact that’s where they met. I’m surprised and disappointed that the faculty council there is now recommending the college drop their plans to terminate a professor who published that she believed Islam and Christianity worship the same God in December.’

“Islam denies that God has a Son. They deny that Jesus is God. They do not believe in a Triune God–the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I can tell you–Islam and Christianity clearly do not worship the same God. How the faculty council can now support this professor being allowed to teach students is deeply concerning.”Christian Persecution

While the Christian scripture contains the Torah and other Jewish holy writings in what is called the Old Testament, which primarily records God’s dealing with the Jewish’s people, it does not contain any writings of the Koran. The latter consists of the teachings of Muhammad, which he claimed were revelations directly from Allah. Muhammad lived approximately 600 years after Christ.Islam is NOT

Jesus, who ministered mainly among the Jewish people and then sent his disciples to the world, made a claim of exclusivity saying, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”

The final determination of Professor Hawkins’ fate has not been made. “The next step in this process is a hearing before the Faculty Personnel Committee [on Feb. 11]. The Faculty Personnel Committee will receive presentations from the Provost and Dr. Hawkins regarding the substantive and procedural issues each would like to raise, will review the evidence presented, and will make a formal recommendation regarding the termination of tenure,” a statement from the university read.

“The Faculty Personnel Committee’s recommendation will then be taken into consideration by President Ryken, as he makes his recommendation to the Board of Trustees.”

Franklin Graham Leaves GOP Over Planned Parenthood Funding

waving flagby Dr. Susan Berry23 Dec 2015, 23 Dec, 2015 23 Dec, 2015

“Shame on the Republicans and the Democrats for passing such a wasteful spending bill last week,” he posted on Facebook. “And to top it off, funding Planned Parenthood!”

Graham said the funding of Planned Parenthood was a huge loss for America, adding:

“After all of the appalling facts revealed this year about Planned Parenthood, our representatives in Washington had a chance to put a stop to this, but they didn’t. There’s no question—taxpayers should not be paying for abortions! Abortion is murder in God’s eyes. Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps! That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding. Nothing was done to trim this 2,000 page, $1.1 trillion budget. This is an example of why I have resigned from the Republican Party and declared myself Independent. I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or Tea Party to do what is best for America. Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system, our country is in for trouble.”AMEN

Graham said he was challenging Christians – including pastors – throughout the United States to consider running for office.

“We need mayors, country commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values,” he asserted.

Graham said that, on January 5, in Des Moines, Iowa, he will begin a tour of the states, holding prayer rallies for the country in every capital.

FRANKLIN GRAHAM: Calls For Drastic Measures Against 1.5 Billion Muslims

Screen Shot 2015-07-18 at 10.08.34 AMFranklin Graham is known for telling it like it is, and he isn’t holding back with his thoughts on Islam and the Chattanooga shooting. In a Facebook Post he said this…

Four innocent Marines (United States Marine Corps) killed and three others wounded in ‪#‎Chattanooga yesterday including a policeman and another Marine–all by a radical Muslim whose family was allowed to immigrate to this country from Kuwait.

“We are under attack by Muslims at home and abroad. We should stop all immigration of Muslims to the U.S. until this threat with Islam has been settled. Every Muslim that comes into this country has the potential to be radicalized–and they do their killing to honor their religion and Muhammad. During World War 2, we didn’t allow Japanese to immigrate to America, nor did we allow Germans. Why are we allowing Muslims now? Do you agree? Let your Congressman know that we’ve got to put a stop to this and close the flood gates. Pray for the men and women who serve this nation in uniform, that God would protect them.” (Facebook)

Franklin Graham decries Christian bakers’ beat-down

Samaritan’s Purse president Franklin Graham, who also heads up the world-wide Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, called the recent ruling against a husband-wife Christian cake-baking team an utter travesty for the First Amendment, and said the plaintiffs in the case – two lesbians – ought to be the ones paying the government-issued fine.

Graham was reacting on his Facebook page to the Oregon Bureau of Labor & Industries ruling against Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of “Sweet Cakes by Melissa” who, in 2013, declined to make a cake for a lesbian wedding. The lesbians turned to the government for redress, and last week, after two years of fighting, the Kleins were ordered to pay $135,000 to the lesbians, in part to account for their stated pain and suffering, as WND previously reported.

Graham found the ruling ludicrous.

He wrote: “This is unbelievable! … Brad Avakian, Oregon’s Bureau of Labor & Industries Commissioner, upheld [the previous] ruling that the Kleins have to pay the lesbian couple $135,000 for a long list of alleged damages including:

  • ‘acute loss of confidence,’

  • ‘high blood pressure,’

  • ‘impaired digestion,’

  • ‘loss of appetite,’

  • ‘migraine headaches,’

  • ‘pale and sick at home after work,’

  • ‘resumption of smoking habit,’

  • ‘weight gain,’ and

  • ‘worry.’

Give me a break. In my opinion, this couple should pay the Kleins $135,000 for all they’ve been through!”cp 11

Graham also pointed to another facet of the ruling as potentially dangerous to the future of the First Amendment’s freedom of speech clause.

On that, he said: “Even more outrageous is that Avakian has also now ordered the Kleins to ‘cease and desist’ from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs. This is an outright attack on their ‪#‎freedomofspeech‬. A senior attorney with the The Heritage Foundation was absolutely right when he said, ‘It is exactly this kind of oppressive persecution by government officials that led the pilgrims to America.’”Leftist Giant called Tyranny

He called for believers to pray for the Kleins, who are planning an appeal, as well as for other Christians who are currently fighting to maintain their religious freedom rights in the supposed “land of the free” known as America, he said.
