Hunter Biden: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

If there’s a grand prize in America’s Dysfunction Olympics, Joe Biden handing a full, cosmic-scale pardon to his own son would be the soaring triple backflip onto a bed of rose petals. What Biden did was political malpractice—wrapped in gold foil. And now Hunter Biden dares to admit this divine clemency a symbol of “privilege.” He then lambasts Donald Trump’s supposed “revenge tour” like a schoolyard victim whining about a bully.

Pardon, Privilege, and the Perverse “Narrative”

Let’s parse the spectacle:

On December 1, 2024, Joe Biden issued a full and unconditional pardon for all federal offenses his son may have committed from January 1, 2014, to December 1, 2024—including tax and gun charges, and even hypothetical future ones. This pardon came after repeated promises that Hunter would not be pardoned. The turnaround smacked of desperation.

Now, Hunter says he’s “incredibly grateful” and realizes how privileged I am,” but also claims that his father would not have pardoned him had Trump not won. He also invokes the specter of Trump’s “revenge tour,” arguing that he would’ve been the “easiest target,” somehow vulnerable enough to silence the entire Biden clan.

Hunter got off scot-free from genuine crimes (remember, tax evasion and firearm charges are not made-up). Now, he piously “admits” that he was privileged—all while casting himself as a persecuted innocent. That’s not humility; that’s hubris in the shape of a press release.

A Hypocrisy So Thick You Could Swim In It

1. Selective “Justice” for the Elite

If you tell the average American they’ll be jailed for delinquent taxes, ignoring them won’t work; they’ll still get prosecuted. But if your last name is Biden, the rulebook says exception. That’s not theory; it’s been practiced. The Washington establishment has long operated under one law for the powerful, another for the powerless.

Democrats screamed about the “rigged justice system” when Trump was investigated, but now they rig it for their own. That’s not consistency—it’s con artistry.

2. The Political Panic Pardons

Wrapping a pardon like a political grenade isn’t rare. Presidents have always pardoned cronies, allies, or inconvenient truths. But pardoning his own son—and one embroiled in crime, addiction, and scandal—is not just nepotism; it’s betrayal of the public trust. The Left used to pretend pardons are about mercy or reform. But in this case, the only mercy is for the powerful.

3. The “Revenge Tour” Fairy Tale

Hunter claims Trump is on a “revenge tour”—as though Trump sat in some shadow room with a red ledger, marking off names. But which evidence supports that? We saw him challenge unconstitutional actions, purge bureaucrats tied to past vindictive investigations, and strip security clearances from politicized deep-state actors.

That’s not obsession—it’s course correction. Trump doesn’t lash out randomly; he goes after institutional rot. If Joe Biden’s legacy was built on family shenanigans and corruption, then yes, Hunter looked over his shoulder—but that’s on the family for being vulnerable, not on a president for doing his job.

Why Hunter Should Shut His Mouth (And Maybe Hide Under a Rock)

Here’s what’s guaranteed: the more Hunter talks, the worse it gets. If he keeps playing victim, it reminds people why he was pardoned—to defang him as a target. His own words confirm that. And if he speaks with indignation, he resurrects interest in the crimes he claims were swept under the rug. Then, if he rails about Trump, he writes his own invitation: “Put my name back under the microscope.”

Truthfully, if he’s smart (he’s not), he’ll go underground, live quietly, and let Joe’s pardon do its job.

Hunter Claims He Could Have Beaten the Wrap

Hunter alluded that he would have argued that the prior prosecutions were politically motivated or inconsistent, and that every person deserves due process. Let’s call this “The Leftist Defense”, and surely one that Big Tish, Comey, and Jack Smith will all deploy, unsuccessfully. Clearly, Hunter wants the world to believe that Trump’s DOJ would have weaponized charges against him or his family relentlessly—thus the pardon was a shield, not a favor.

Finally, you know that Biden would have used his addiction as an excuse. Addiction has been his scapegoat for years. For him, addiction trump’s culpability, and that mercy has a place in justice.

Rebirth of the Two-Tiered Justice System

If you have power and connections, you go free. If you don’t, you go to jail. That’s the American dream inverted, and it’s rotting from the top down.

A president—even one from the Left—who pardons his own child weaponizes the very office meant to temper excess. It’s one thing to help others; it’s another to help your own at the expense of fairness.

Hunter Biden’s remarks do one useful thing: they confirm what most people already suspected. He got a pardon not as redemption, but as immunity. He’s not a contrite citizen; he’s a walking monument to corruption’s soft power.

He can call it “privilege.” It is. He can blame it on a “revenge tour.” It’s not. He can cry crocodile tears about being a target. He wasn’t. But none of that changes the truth: he got a pardon meant to sanitize him. He got an escape hatch welded shut from accountability. And that, dear reader, is not scandal — it’s statecraft in the wild hands of the well connected.

“What am I Willing to Burn”? Howard Journalism Professor Calls for Whites to Emulate John Brown

By: Jonathan Turley | October 23, 2025

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2025/10/23/what-am-i-willing-to-burn-howard-journalism-professor-calls-for-whites-to-emulate-john-brown/#more-237257

Stacey Patton, professor of journalism at Howard University, has caused an uproar with her advice to white people who want to oppose this Administration. Patton told them that they had to follow the path of John Brown, who led a bloodbath before the Civil War that included killing white slave owners and pro-slave settlers.

In a blog titled “John Brown Didn’t Ask Enslaved People How to Be a Good White Ally,” Patton told white liberals to stop asking how to be a better “ally” to minorities. She writes:

“It’s a question that always lands heavy. Not because I doubt their sincerity, but because the question itself is still a form of protection that centers the asker’s confusion instead of the target’s danger. It’s a request to be taught, forgiven, and reassured, again and again. It’s another round of homework assigned to the wounded…It’s exhausting as hell because it’s still a form of emotional outsourcing.”

Instead, she tells whites to become modern John Browns and presumably unleash a new era akin to “Bleeding Kansas” and the infamous Pottawatomie massacre.

Brown was a militant slave abolitionist during the pre-Civil War “Bleeding Kansas” period. In 1856, he orchestrated the Pottawatomie massacre. He and fellow abolitionists dragged five Kansas settlers, at least three of whom were pro-slavery sympathizers, out of their homes and executed them.

Brown was eventually captured after his raid on Harpers Ferry and hanged.

Patton wants whites to emulate Brown, who “saw the horror for what it was and decided that ending this racist f*ckery mattered more than being understood.” What clearly makes Brown stand out for Patton is his violence: “So when white allies ask, ‘What can I do?’ here’s the answer: Be like John Brown. Ask yourself, what am I willing to burn so somebody else can breathe?”

Of course, a hanging might be a bit stiff for many liberals longing to be Antifa. So, Patton acknowledges, “If you don’t want to die like John Brown, fine. But understand that somebody always does.”

Not surprisingly, the professor has little time for those who want to embrace the alternative, non-violent lessons of Martin Luther King:

“Now, white liberals love to quote Martin Luther King Jr. because he is a man that can be polished into civility. But John Brown doesn’t fit the script. He was a m’fukin’ gangsta! He didn’t ask for gradual change, or healing, or bipartisan cooperation. He saw a nation addicted to violence and knew that moral persuasion alone couldn’t sober it.”

Patton’s column comes after the controversy involving the John Brown Gun Club, which was connected to flyers appearing on campuses like Georgetown reading “Hey, Fascists! Catch!” The phrase was written on unused bullet casings found after the assassination of Charlie Kirk. It went on to proclaim, “The only political group that celebrates when Nazis die.”

The recent charges against Benjamin Song, an Antifa member, also raised the group. Song was charged with three counts of attempted murder of federal agents in addition to three counts of discharging a firearm stemming from an ambush-style shooting at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas. A dozen others were charged in the plot. He was also reportedly a member of the John Brown Gun Club.

Notably, this is a journalism professor in a school that has long been associated with advocacy journalism and the controversial hire of former New York Times reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones.

We previously discussed the release of the results of interviews with over 75 media leaders by former executive editor for The Washington Post Leonard Downie Jr. and former CBS News President Andrew Heyward. They concluded that objectivity is now considered reactionary and even harmful. Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, editor-in-chief at the San Francisco Chronicle, said it plainly: “Objectivity has got to go.”

Downie recounted how news leaders today.

“Believe that pursuing objectivity can lead to false balance or misleading “bothsidesism” in covering stories about race, the treatment of women, LGBTQ+ rights, income inequality, climate change and many other subjects. And, in today’s diversifying newsrooms, they feel it negates many of their own identities, life experiences and cultural contexts, keeping them from pursuing truth in their work.”

Now, objectivity is virtually synonymous with prejudice. Kathleen Carroll, former executive editor at the Associated Press, declared, “It’s objective by whose standard? … That standard seems to be White, educated, and fairly wealthy.”

Stanford journalism professor Ted Glasser insisted that journalism needed to “free itself from this notion of objectivity to develop a sense of social justice.” He declared that “Journalists need to be overt and candid advocates for social justice, and it’s hard to do that under the constraints of objectivity.”

Lauren Wolfe, the fired freelance editor for the New York Times, has not only gone public to defend her pro-Biden tweet but published a piece titled I’m a Biased Journalist and I’m Okay With That.”

Former New York Times writer (and now Howard University Journalism Professor) Nikole Hannah-Jones is a leading voice for advocacy journalism.

Indeed, Hannah-Jones has declared, all journalism is activism.” Her 1619 Project has been challenged as deeply flawed and she has a long record as a journalist of intolerance, controversial positions on rioting, and fostering conspiracy theories. Hannah-Jones would later help lead the effort at the Times to get rid of an editor and apologize for publishing a column from Sen. Tom Cotton as inaccurate and inflammatory.

Yet, Howard saw Hannah-Jones as perfect for a chair in its journalism school.

Professor Patton seems to have left not just neutrality but sanity behind with her implied support for violent action. It is unclear how such views impact her journalism courses at Howard University. However, she has featured prominently in The New York Times, Washington Post, and The Chronicle of Higher Education as well as ABC News, CNN, and MSNBC.

Two Chicago Educators Face Questions Over “No Kings” Protest Calls

By: Jonathan Turley | October 21, 2025

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2025/10/21/237179/

The large “No Kings” protests this weekend were peaceful with the exception of some hot spots in Portland near ICE facilities.  There were the usual hot heads carrying guillotines and North Carolina Democrat Rep. Julie von Haefen is under fire for posting a picture of a beheaded Trump.  Another protester was arrested for calling for protesters to “firebomb” ICE facilities and personnel. In another scene, children were encouraged to beat a Trump piñata. There was also an assault on a MAGA supporter. These remained happily isolated incidents. However, two school employees in Chicago drew national attention with their violent speeches and offered another test of our free speech standards.

In Chicago, elementary school teacher Lucy Martinez was shown on video mockingly making a gesture akin to being shot in the neck, mimicking how Charlie Kirk was assassinated. The video went viral, and her school, Nathan Hale Elementary School, had to shut down its website and social media presence.

Martinez’s gesture is disgusting, and frankly, I would not want my children to be taught by such a person. However, she did not identify herself as a teacher when she made this vile statement outside of school during her own time. As such, it is, in my view, protected speech.

Then there is the controversy surrounding Wilbur Wright College Adult Education Manager Moises Bernal, who screamed to a crowd that “ICE agents gotta get shot and wiped out.” Bernal told the crowd, “You gotta grab a gun!” and “We gotta turn around the guns on this fascist system!”

In 2017, Bernal was sentenced to 12 months probation in a rare move by the court due to disruptive behavior at a hearing for Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke who was charged with murder.

The question is whether calling for the killing of ICE officers crosses the line for an educator. After all, there are ICE officers who come to campuses in their official capacity or as students. There are also students who want to join law enforcement, including ICE.

Violent speech is admittedly a difficult area for such line drawing. Faculty have made similarly disturbing comments in the past, including “detonating white people,” abolish white peopledenouncing policecalling for Republicans to suffer,  strangling police officerscelebrating the death of conservativescalling for the killing of Trump supporters, supporting the murder of conservative protesters and other outrageous statements. I also defended the free speech rights of University of Rhode Island professor Erik Loomis, who defended the murder of a conservative protester and said that he saw “nothing wrong” with such acts of violence. (Loomis was later made Director of Graduate Studies of History at Rhode Island).

Even school board members referring to taking faculty “to the slaughterhouse” for questioning DEI policies is considering protected speech.

However, the specificity of Bernal’s call to violence could trigger repercussions for him. If Bernal had proclaimed that people should shoot minorities or women or Jews, there would be little debate that he represented a threatening element on campus. Certainly, a student who espoused such violent intentions would not be allowed on campus in most universities.

For the university, it is difficult to see how law enforcement personnel in adult education programs would feel comfortable with an administrator who is encouraging others to murder them. Indeed, most people would not feel comfortable in interacting with someone who wants to kill law enforcement personnel.

Bernal’s comments likely fall short of a criminal threat, though, in New York city, David Cox was arrested after allegedly telling a third person that he had firebombs in his car and would be carrying out an attack. That was a specific threat and alleged plan. Bernal was encouraging violence in general.

However, calling for violence at a protest can cross the line for violent speech under existing precedent. In Brandenburg v. Ohio, the Supreme Court ruled that calling for violence is protected under the First Amendment unless there is a threat of “imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.”

In this case, there was no violence despite Bernal’s apparent inclinations. There was no evidence of “imminent lawless action.” As such, it is still likely protected. However, that does not mean that Wilbur Wright College, which is part of the city of Chicago college system, cannot fire or suspend him for calling for the murder of law enforcement.

There is currently no statement from Wilbur Wright College President Dr. Andrés A. Oroz.

Antifa Denial: How a Violent Anti-Free Speech Group Became a Non-Entity in American Politics

By: Jonathan Turley | October 16, 2025

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2025/10/13/antifa-denial-how-a-violent-anti-free-speech-group-went-from-celebrated-to/

Below is my column on the rise of Antifa deniers in Washington. Once embraced and even marketed on the left, Antifa has become the group that must not be named as political violence rises across the country. It does not matter that radicals identify as Antifa, coordinate protests, carry Antifa flags, wear signature clothing, and espouse the same ideas from the “Antifa handbook.” There have even been people elected as Antifa representatives. Yet, the current spin is to pretend that they do not exist as a single organization to deflect the debate over violence on the left.  Even with the past and current FBI directors saying that they exist as a group, politicians are mocking those who object to Antifa, even journalists and others targeted by its members.

This week, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) claimed that “nobody” knows what the left-wing terrorist organization Antifa is and that it does not exist. However, he previously promoted the “Antifa Handbook” in 2018 and praised the group as terrifying Trump. Now, however, he has joined the chorus of Antifa denials as political violence rises around the country.

Here is the column:

Roughly seventy years ago, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover famously declared, “There is no organized crime in America.” Hoover’s stubborn denial of the existence of the mafia continued despite ample evidence to the contrary, from arrests to congressional testimony.

Many have speculated on why Hoover maintained his stubborn denial. Perhaps, they say, he was trying to avoid the political embarrassment of long ignoring the single largest criminal network in the country.

Many today seem to be adopting a Hoover-esque wilful blindness about another violent group: Antifa. Politicians and pundits are denying that the left-wing anarchist group exists, mocking President Trump’s designation of Antifa as a terrorist organization.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-N.Y.) seemed to morph into Hoover before our very eyes, including a posting in which he challenged anyone to “name one member of ‘Antifa.’” Former House Judiciary Chair Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) was widely ridiculed for denying the existence of Antifa. Others on the left have joined Goldman in this absurd claim. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel committed part of his monologue to assure viewers that Antifa is no more than a mythical “chupacabra.” “You understand there is no Antifa,” he said. “This is an entirely made-up organization.”

I have testified about Antifa before Congress, run columns on the organization for over a decade, and wrote a book discussing Antifa. I did oppose declaring Antifa a terrorist organization due to free speech concerns, but I also know that it is very real.

By design, Antifa avoids typical leadership hierarchies and organizational structures. Antifa was first created in the 1920s, associated with the Weimar-era German communist group Antifaschistische Aktion.

It is easy to satisfy Goldman’s demand in naming some members, since they self-identify as members of Antifa. One such student came from my campus and proclaimed that Antifa was winning after his arrest for property destruction. When another radical was arrested after taking an axe to a congressional office, he self-identified as a member of Antifa. Before Kyle Benjamin Douglas Calvert, 26, implanted an IED device outside of Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall’s office in downtown Montgomery, he put up stickers reading “support your local Antifa.” Numerous Antifa members have been arrested, including some who claimed to be journalists.

Many protesters belong to Antifa groups that have names like “Rose City Antifa” and offshoots like Love and Rage and Mexico’s Amor Y Rabia. Antifa members have been elected to the French and European parliaments.

Rutgers Professor Mark Bray’s “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” called by some the “Antifa bible,” explains that the group is united in its opposition to free speech. “Most Americans in Antifa have been anarchists or antiauthoritarian communists,” he writes. “From that standpoint, ‘free speech’ as such is merely a bourgeois fantasy unworthy of consideration.”

Law enforcement officials like former FBI Director Christopher Wray have long debunked the deniers like Goldman. “Antifa is a real thing,” said Wray.

Ironically, when many on the left are not denying its existence, they are rallying their members or actually selling Antifa merchandise. Former Democratic National Committee deputy chair Keith Ellison — now the Minnesota attorney general — proclaimed that Antifa would “strike fear in the heart” of Trump. His own son, Minneapolis City Council member Jeremiah Ellison, declared his allegiance to Antifa in the heat of the protests this summer.

But ,with Antifa violence on the rise, Democratic leaders have gone back to denying its existence even as Antifa deploys its signature black hoodies and masks.

Indeed, some liberal activists admit to having coordinated violent protests with Antifa groups. For example, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill professor Dwayne Dixon was a member of the radical gun club Redneck Revolt, a group recently referenced in flyers quoting the assassin of Charlie Kirk to rally the left. The flyers read, “Hey, Fascist! Catch! The only political group that celebrates when Nazis die.”

During a panel at Harvard University, Dixon reportedly admitted that an Antifa-linked group requested his gun club to provide security during the August 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia: “Prior to that day, as the planning for the defense of Charlottesville proceeded, the local Anarchist People of Color Collective … had requested that Redneck Revolt be present to secure Justice Park for a wide variety of activists who were expected to assemble.”

The denial of the existence of an actual group is meant to deflect the discussion of the rising violence from the left, as these same politicians fuel the rage with reckless rhetoric. But they’re not so good at keeping their story straight. While whipping up the mob with claims that democracy is dying and comparing their opponents to Nazis, they deny the existence of the very group that politicians like Ellison praise for targeting conservatives.

Hoover declined to admit the mafia existed until, on November 14, 1957, dozens of mobsters were found meeting in a farmhouse in Apalachin, New York.

What is different is that Antifa has repeatedly had such farmhouse moments, with prosecutions revealing a national movement with self-identified members. So why the denial? These are the shock troops for some politicians who think that they can use the violent group for political advantage. They are mistaken. Antifa is unlikely to have much use for establishment liberals once it gains more power.

Until then, Antifa can count on the Goldmans of the world to give them cover in denying that they exist.

In the film “The Usual Suspects,” the character Verbal Kint offered this explanation for the invisible villain Keyser Söze: “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he did not exist.”

Virginia Attorney General Candidate Jay Jones Accused of Additional Violent Rhetoric

Jay Jones, Virginia’s Democratic attorney general candidate, is under fire for shocking statements that expressed a desire to kill political opponents and their young “fascist” children. Despite the violent rhetoric, Democrats like Abigail Spanberger, the Democratic gubernatorial nominee in Virginia, have stood by Jones and continue to campaign for his election. Now, however, Jones is accused of making disturbing comments about the benefit of killing a few cops as a warning to others. It is unclear whether the alleged comments were made in writing (as were earlier comments), and Jones has denied them.

Virginia has become a testing ground for rage rhetoric as Democrats stand by Jones and refuse to call for his withdrawal. Spanberger herself was criticized recently for calling on supporters to “Let your rage fuel you.”

What is notable about this latest allegation is that it is coming from the very same legislator who discussed the prior statements, which Jones admitted were true.

According to the New York Post, Republican Del. Carrie Coyner told Virginia Scope on Monday, Jones used a 2020 discussion about qualified immunity to suggest that a few dead cops might be a good thing. She recounted how Jones allegedly said, “Well, maybe if a few of them died, that they would move on, not shooting people, not killing people.”

Jones denied the new allegations: “I did not say this. I have never believed and do not believe that any harm should come to law enforcement, period.”

It is unclear whether Coyner has proof of the new alleged statements.

Jones has not threatened a defamation lawsuit over the allegation. If untrue, the statement could constitute defamation as impugning Jones’s reputation and veracity as a public figure. However, as a public official, he is subject to the New York Times v. Sullivan standard and would have to show a knowing falsehood or reckless disregard for the truth on the part of Rep. Coyner.

“Let Your Rage Fuel You”: Politicians and Pundits Embrace Rage Politics

By: Jonathan Turley | September 29, 2025

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2025/09/29/let-your-rage-fuel-you-politicians-and-pundits-embrace-rage-politics/

Below is my column in the Hill on the rise of rage politics. There was barely a respite from the rage rhetoric after the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the sniper attack on the ICE facility. Gov. Gavin Newsom is back this week to calling his opponents “fascists” while other Democratic politicians are back to calling ICE “fascists.”

Here is the column:

“Let your rage fuel you.” Those words from Virginia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger captured what I have called “rage politics” in America.

Across the country, politicians and pundits are fueling rage, encouraging voters to embrace it. If you turn on the television, you would think that Darth Sidious had taken over: “Give in to your anger. With each passing moment, you grow stronger.”

I do not think for a second that Spanberger supports violence. She was sharing with voters the “sage advice” of her mother, which she said she has applied in her political career. However, the anger is all around us.

Recently, I debated Harvard Law Professor Michael Klarman, who declared, “I am very angry” and “I am enraged.” In denouncing ICE as “thugs” and saying Trump supporters are “fascists,” Klarman explained that the rage had a purpose: “to shake people out of their insomnia.”

Rage, however, comes at a cost in politics. I recently wrote a book about rage and free speech, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.” It discusses our history of rage politics and how it has led to violence and crackdowns. Rage gives people a license to say and do things that they would not otherwise say or do. It is addictive, it is contagious, and it is dangerous.

We are seeing the result of rage rhetoric all around us. That includes the assassination of Charlie Kirk and the sniper attack on ICE agents in Texas this week, in addition to violent protests around the country. Rage allows you to deny the humanity of those you disagree with. Recently, two sisters were caught on video destroying a memorial to Kirk. Kerri and Kaylee Rollo were later arrested. However, they immediately opened a GoFundMe site to call for donations for “fighting fascism” and Kaylee wrote “my sibling was fired from her job.” Hundreds of donors gave the sisters thousands of dollars as a reward for the latest such attack on a Kirk memorial.

For many months, some of us have warned that violent rhetoric was crossing over into political violence. Democratic politicians have spent months ratcheting up the rhetoric against ICE agents, who have suffered more than a 1,000 percent increase in attacks, including the recent sniper attack.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), the day before that attack, signed a law that purports to bar ICE agents from wearing masks in California. He openly mocked them, asking, “What are you afraid of?

Joshua Jahn answered that question the following day in Texas when he fired at ICE personnel, only to shoot three of their detainees.

Previously, Newsom had warned voters that Trump was building ICE into a personal army that might be used to suppress voting in the upcoming midterm elections. “Do you think ICE is not going to show up around voting and polling booths to chill participation?” he said.

Others added to the rage rhetoric by declaring the impending death of democracy and lashing out at ICE. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), who has used violent rhetoric in the past, declared that ICE agents were acting like “slave patrols” in hunting down immigrants in the streets.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) used a commencement address to denounce Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets. They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons… just grabbed up by masked agents, shoved into those vans, and disappeared.”

Others, like Boston Mayor Michele Wu,  echoed the claims that ICE personnel are “Nazis” and called ICE Trump’s “secret police.”

The rage rhetoric (and claims of a fascist takeover) has been adopted by a wide range of Democratic politicians, often using the same catchphrases of an “authoritarian playbook.” In our debate, Professor Klarman warned that this was all “authoritarianism rooted in old-fashioned white supremacy.”

As discussed in my book, politicians and pundits have long sought to ride the wave of rage into power or influence. Rage is a powerful narcotic. The problem is when it becomes an addiction. There is always a certain percentage of the population that will believe such hyperbolic claims.

Those are the people who end up trying to kill jurists like Justice Brett Kavanaugh or politicians like Trump. It was also seen in the assassination of Democratic politicians earlier this year in Minnesota.

With the recent assassination and attacks on ICE, some are expressing regret. One of the most telling was Hillary Clinton on MSNBC, who said that we should “stop demonizing each other” while blaming “the right” for most of the hate. It was a curious call from a woman who called Trump supporters “deplorables” and suggested that they should collectively be forced into “deprogramming” as a cult. Just before the interview, Clinton had embraced the “fascism” mantra and, during the interview, she went right back to attacking Republicans.

new poll shows that 71 percent view political violence as a serious problem, but the rage rhetoric continues unabated.

The perfunctory calls for lowering the temperature after the latest shooting are unlikely to last. Key figures in public life keep injecting rage directly into the veins of American politics. It is hard to go “cold turkey” in breaking that addiction, but you first have to want to do so. There is no indication that our rage-addicts are anywhere near a step-program for recovery. If history is any measure, this fever will only break when voters clearly reject the politics of rage.

A Sunday Worship Service Turned Into Tragedy

A quiet Sunday morning turned into chaos when a gunman drove his vehicle through the front doors of a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, opening fire on worshippers and setting the building ablaze. Authorities confirmed that at least four people are dead, and 10 others were injured, several critically.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford of Burton, Michigan, was shot and killed in a gunfight with responding officers. Police believe Sanford acted alone.

What We Know About the Attack

The violence began around 10:25 a.m. as the congregation gathered for its sacrament service. Sanford allegedly rammed his vehicle into the sanctuary entrance, then opened fire with what police described as an assault-style rifle. Moments later, flames erupted inside the building, quickly spreading through the church and trapping some congregants.

“Ten gunshot victims have been transported to local hospitals at this time, including one who has been deceased,” said Grand Blanc Township Police Chief William Renye. Fire officials added that additional victims may be found as the burned structure is searched.

Suspect Background

Fox 2 Detroit reported Sanford was a U.S. Marine veteran who served in Iraq. He lived in Burton with his wife and child. Investigators are currently searching Sanford’s home and digital records to determine motive.

During the investigation, authorities discovered three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in his vehicle, prompting the deployment of bomb squads and robots.

Federal Response

The FBI and ATF are leading the federal investigation. More than 100 federal agents have been deployed to assist state and local law enforcement. Search warrants have been executed at Sanford’s residence, and officials are reviewing his cell phone and other devices for evidence.

National Leaders React

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the attack a “targeted assault on Christians” and vowing federal support.

“This appears to be yet another targeted attack on Christians in the United States of America. The suspect is dead, but there is still a lot to learn. In the meantime, PRAY for the victims, and their families. THIS EPIDEMIC OF VIOLENCE IN OUR COUNTRY MUST END, IMMEDIATELY!” Trump wrote.

Vice President JD Vance echoed the sentiment, calling it an “awful situation” and asking for prayers for victims and first responders.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi condemned the shooting as “heartbreaking and chilling,” while confirming FBI and ATF agents were on scene.

Church Statement

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints issued a statement calling the shooting a “tragic act of violence.”

“During Sunday worship services a gunman opened fire, and early reports indicate that multiple individuals were injured. We ask for cooperation with local authorities as details become available,” the statement read.

The church expressed gratitude for emergency responders and said it was “deeply grateful for the outpouring of prayers and concern from so many people around the world.”

Community Response

Video from the scene showed dark smoke billowing into the sky, dozens of fire trucks, and emergency personnel rushing gurneys toward the church. Local hospitals confirmed they were treating victims, with some in critical condition.

Striking hospital staff even left picket lines to assist in treating victims, highlighting the community’s swift response.

Still Under Investigation

Authorities have not released a motive. They continue to search the fire-damaged church for possible additional victims and evidence. Officials warned that the scope of the tragedy may grow as the investigation unfolds.

For now, a Michigan community is left in shock, mourning lives lost in what should have been a peaceful place of worship.

Charlie Kirk and the Age of Rage

Commentary by Jonathan Turley | September15, 2025

Below is my column in the Hill on the murder of Charlie Kirk, the latest victim of our age of rage. The evidence of Antifa scribblings and indoctrination of the shooter came as no surprise. For months, some of us have been warning Democratic leaders about their dangerous rhetoric and how it would be received by the most radical elements in the Antifa movement.

Here is the column:

“Prove me wrong.”

For years, that tagline of Charlie Kirk and his group, Turning Point USA, enraged many on the left. In “an age of rage,” nothing is more triggering for the perpetually angry than an invitation to debate issues.

Indeed, someone has now killed him for it.

What is most chilling about the assassination is that it was not in the slightest degree surprising. This follows two attempted assassinations of President Trump and the killing of a pair of Minnesota politicians.

I heard of the assassination in Prague as I prepared to speak about the age of rage and the growing attacks on free speech. I was profoundly saddened by the news. I knew Charlie and respected his effort to challenge the orthodoxy on college campuses. We all have received regular death threats (and Charlie more than most), but there is still a hope that even the most deranged will leave these threats at the ideation rather than the action stage. This killer left Charlie’s wife, Erika, and her two young children as the latest victims of senseless violence against someone who refused to be silenced.

We do not have to know much about the shooter to recognize the rage. The person who killed Charlie did not view him as a father or even as a person. That is the transformative, enabling effect of rage.

In my book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage, I write about rage and the uncomfortable truth for many engaging in rage rhetoric: “What few today want to admit is that they like it. They like the freedom that it affords, the ability to hate and harass without a sense of responsibility. It is evident all around us as people engage in language and conduct that they repudiate in others. We have become a nation of rage addicts, flailing against anyone or anything that stands in opposition to our own truths. Like all addictions, there is not only a dependency on rage but an intolerance for opposing views. … Indeed, to voice free speech principles in a time of rage is to invite the rage of the mob.”

Charlie was brave, and he was brash. He refused to yield to the threats while encouraging others to speak out on our campuses.

He was particularly hated for holding a mirror to the face of higher education, exposing the hate and hypocrisy on our campuses. For decades, faculty have purged their ranks of conservatives and libertarians. Faced with the intolerance of most schools, polls show that a large percentage of students hide their values to avoid retaliation from faculty or their fellow students.

Charlie chose to change all that. TPUSA challenges people to engage and debate them. The response from some on the left has been to trash their tables and threaten the students. Recently, at UC Davis, police stood by and watched as a TPUSA tent was torn apart.

Charlie is only the latest such victim, and he is unlikely to be the last.

For months, some of us have warned about the rise in rage rhetoric. Some believe that they can ride a wave of rage back into power. House Minority Leader Hakeem  Jeffries (D., N.Y.) has called for people to take to the streets to save democracy and posted a picture of himself brandishing a baseball bat.

Likewise, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) declared, “I’m going to punch these sons of bitches in the mouth.”

Various radical groups welcome such rage rhetoric, particularly Antifa. The most violent anti-free speech group in the U.S., Antifa has long attacked journalists and others with opposing views. In his “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” Professor Mark Bray noted that “most Americans in Antifa have been anarchists or antiauthoritarian communists. … From that standpoint, ‘free speech’ as such is merely a bourgeois fantasy unworthy of consideration.”

Alleged shooter Tyler Robinson, 22, reportedly left telltale Antifa markings on evidence, including marking bullets inscribed with the lyrics: “Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Bella Ciao, Ciao, Ciao”(from an Italian anti-fascist anthem) and “Hey, fascist! Catch!”

I previously testified in Congress about the dangers of Antifa, and I discuss the group in my book. Despite such warnings, Democratic leaders have dismissed those dangers or actually embraced Antifa.

Former Democratic National Committee deputy chair Keith Ellison (D), now Minnesota’s attorney general, previously celebrated how Antifa would “strike fear in the heart” of Trump. Liberal sites sell Antifa items to celebrate the violent group, including onesies for “Antifa babies.”

Some politicians have privately expressed alarm at the rising violent speech in their ranks. One Democratic member told Axios, “Some of [our supporters] have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.”

Protesters are burning cars and dealerships. Even lawyers and reporters on the left are throwing Molotov cocktails at police. Some on the left have rolled out guillotines and chanted, “We got the guillotine, you better run.”

Just before he was shot at Utah Valley University, Kirk rallied the group with its signature chant of “prove me wrong.” Someone responded by killing him.

Of course, the murder proved nothing except that senseless hate is sweeping over our country. Someone preferred to kill Kirk rather than engage with him or others who held opposing views.

It is precisely the lack of debate and dialogue that has triggered this type of violence. For those dwelling deep in the hardened silos of our news and social media, dissenting voices become increasingly intolerable.

Charlie is still exposing that hypocrisy. As I prepared to address Charlie’s murder in Prague, anti-free speech groups were already using his murder to justify even greater limits on free speech to combat hate and disinformation. This is the ultimate dishonoring of his life and his legacy. Charlie died in the fight for free speech, challenging speech codes and censorship.

Greater censorship will not make political violence less likely; it will only make the likelihood of another Charlie Kirk less likely. Europe shows that extremists flourish under speech controls. The neo-Nazis are having a banner year in portraying themselves as victims.

It is the rest of us that are deterred by speech codes. According to polling, only 18 percent of Germans feel free to express their opinions in public. Fifty-nine percent of Germans do not even feel free expressing themselves in private among friends. Only 17 percent feel free to express themselves on the internet.

Charlie was hated because he exposed the left’s intolerance of opposing views … all in the purported cause of achieving greater tolerance. By challenging others to debate, he triggered a generation of speech-phobics who are more interested in silencing others than speaking on their own account.

Charlie was hated for stripping away the pretense and self-delusion of those canceling, blacklisting, and attacking others for holding opposing views. He did so by standing in harm’s way.

The conservatives that Kirk coaxed out of the shadows can honor his memory by showing that they will not be silenced. They can step forward and renew his same challenge: “Prove me wrong.”

If You Want to “Stand with Charlie,” Stand with Free Speech

Commentary by Jonathan Turley | September 14, 2025

Below is my column that ran earlier on Fox.com on the calls for the termination of academics and others who have criticized Charlie Kirk or expressed satisfaction with his murder. Unfortunately, such hateful remarks are nothing new in academia. However, this is not about them. It is about us, and more importantly, it is about Charlie and what he fought for his entire life. We cannot allow our anger or sorrow to lead us into becoming the very people that Charlie denounced in his life. If you “Stand with Charlie,” you stand with free speech.

Here is the column:

“Stand with Charlie!” That message spontaneously appeared throughout the world after the unspeakable violent attack by an extremist. No, it was not the response to the murder of Charlie Kirk this week. It was ten years ago with the killing of staff at the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. World leaders, including the French, German, and Turkish presidents, joined a march for free speech despite their own speech crackdowns, including prior targeting of the magazine and the victims.

The chief editor, Stéphane Charbonnier, had refused to be silenced by the French government and declared, “I would rather die standing than live on my knees.” He was the first person the gunmen asked for in their attack on the office, and he was one of the first to be killed.

At the time, I wrote about the breathtaking hypocrisy and noted that one of the few surviving editors of the magazine refused to join the march with those who relentlessly pursued them with criminal investigation. After the march, France, Germany, and other Western governments expanded their censorship laws and the prosecution of viewpoints deemed inflammatory or hateful.

In the ultimate dishonoring of the memory of the Charlie Hebdo staff, the French officials then proceeded to use their own murders to justify increasing prosecution of speech

The killing of Charlie Kirk in the United States ten years later is clearly different in one critical respect. There will be no “I am Charlie” campaign on the left. Some on the left have celebrated the killing while others, mouthing regret, attacked Kirk and suggested that he brought this upon himself.

That is hardly a surprise. Kirk spent his tragically short life exposing the hypocrisy and intolerance of the left, particularly in higher education. They hated him for it. Universities and colleges have long been bastions of the left with the purging of most conservative or Republican faculty from most departments and the maintenance of an academic echo chamber in classrooms.

Kirk challenged all that. He drove many mad by inviting them to debate issues. The response was often violence, including the trashing of tables of his group, Turning Point USA. Ultimately, he was killed for insisting on being heard.

However, we are facing the same danger of self-consuming hypocrisy — ten years after that other Charlie shooting. Some on the right are calling for people who denounce Kirk or celebrate his death to be fired. That ranges from professors to public employees.

I knew Charlie. While I cannot call myself a close friend, we spoke about the lack of free speech on our campuses and the efforts to cancel or fire those with opposing views. More than anyone today, Kirk brilliantly exposed that hypocrisy by putting himself and his group in harm’s way.

The way to honor Charlie Kirk’s life and legacy is not with hypocrisy and intolerance.  That is what he died fighting against.

To fire people on campuses for speaking out against Charlie Kirk would make an utter mockery of his work and his death. It would be like banning LGBTQ groups in response to the assassination of Harvey Milk in 1978.

Charlie Kirk wanted unfettered debate. He wanted people to be able to express themselves regardless of how the majority felt about their views. He was the victim, not the advocate, of cancel campaigns.

There are instances where hateful views may raise grounds for termination. A secret service agent is under investigation after dismissing the assassination. Given the need to protect conservative as well as liberal figures (including those in the current administration), the bias in the postings can raise legitimate grounds for inquiry.

Likewise, those who use their official, academic, or corporate positions to espouse hateful messages risk termination.

However, many of these individuals were speaking as individuals outside of their positions, and their hateful commentary is not necessarily compromising or conflicting with their positions.

Hate speech in the United States is protected speech. The crackdown on speech deemed hateful, inflammatory, or intolerant has been the signature of the left, the very thing that Charlie campaigned against.

It is never easy to show restraint when you are angry or grieving. After all, many of those objecting to these cases today were silent or supported crackdowns on conservatives for years on and off campuses. They lack any self-awareness or shame in demanding protections that they rarely extend to others with opposing views. That is the value of an age of rage. It gives you license to silence and attack others for their views while insisting that you are the real victim.

However, we cannot become those we have long fought against in the free speech community. More importantly, we cannot become those whom Charlie fought against up to the very moment of his murder. We honor his legacy by protecting the thing that Charlie cherished the most. We need to “Stand with Charlie” and support free speech.

WATCH! Scott Jennings Shreds Montel Williams’ Disgusting Spin on Charlie Kirk’s Assassin

By Jimmy Parker | September 17, 2025

Read more at https://pagetraveler.com/watch-scott-jennings-shreds-montel-williams-disgusting-spin-on-charlie-kirks-assassin/

The mainstream media has wasted no time twisting the assassination of Charlie Kirk into something it never was. Instead of acknowledging the brutal reality—that left-wing hatred and ideology drove a radicalized young man to pull the trigger—they’ve started painting it as some sort of tragic love story. This is the same tired playbook we’ve seen before: when the killer fits their side of the political aisle, the motive magically becomes “emotional” rather than ideological.

Montel Williams’ Gaslighting on CNN

Montel Williams, who hasn’t been relevant in decades, resurfaced on CNN to provide cover for the left. His claim? The shooter wasn’t politically motivated but rather “emotionally” driven because of a relationship. That’s not just tone-deaf—it’s disgusting. To suggest this murder wasn’t political when the shooter literally etched leftist slogans into bullet casings is beyond dishonest. It’s gaslighting, pure and simple, and it insults the intelligence of every American who’s paying attention.

Scott Jennings Brings the Receipts

Thankfully, Scott Jennings didn’t let that narrative slide. He reminded everyone of the killer’s own words: “I can’t stand this hate anymore. I’m going to take Charlie Kirk out.” He pointed to the evidence etched on bullet casings and the testimony of family members who confirmed the shooter had embraced radical left-wing ideology. Jennings was clear—the crime wasn’t born out of some teenage heartbreak. It was fueled by the poison the left has been spewing against conservatives for years.

Left-Wing Radicalism in Plain Sight

For over a decade, the left has labeled conservatives as fascists, bigots, and enemies of humanity. This rhetoric doesn’t exist in a vacuum—it breeds hate, it radicalizes people, and in this case, it ended in assassination. The shooter waited for the word “trans” to be spoken before he pulled the trigger. That wasn’t random. That was ideological conditioning manifesting in violence. To deny the political motive is to deny reality.

The Stakes Are Too High for Lies

Montel Williams’ attempt to shift the story away from politics is more than lazy punditry—it’s dangerous. By pretending this was an “emotional” tragedy instead of politically motivated violence, CNN and the left are giving cover to a movement that incites hatred against conservatives daily. Scott Jennings was right to call it out, and the rest of us must do the same. If we let the media spin this assassination into anything but what it was, we’re only ensuring that more violence will follow.

Democrats at War: When the Circus Eats Its Own Animals

By: Kevin Jackson | September 15, 2025

Democrats are in free-fall.

The party that once proudly marketed itself as the impenetrable wall against Trumpism has now discovered that steel beams begin to buckle when the infighting hits industrial levels of dysfunction.

Republicans, long mocked for their RINO drama and Tea Party fractures, finally got their act together just long enough to drag Democrats into new chaos. And the ironic cherry on top? Those very same Republicans—who once partnered with Democrats to dismantle Trump in 2020—are suddenly rediscovering their love affair with the MAGA kingpin and wielding the Senate’s nuclear option to push his nominees through with 51 votes.

Democrats be damned. Especially Chuck Schumer, who’s now getting more Democrat shade than Trump Twitter rants ever managed.

And it looks like the honeymoon between Democrats, and their leadership is over. Way over.

Schumer: Enemy at Home

As reported by Newsbreak, Democrats recently unleashed their collective spleen on Chuck Schumer during a closed-door session. The setting: a House Democrat weekly caucus meeting that might as well have doubled as a group therapy session. Except, instead of hugging it out, the knives came out.

Raw Story even highlighted that some Democrats no longer see Schumer as their knight in blue armor but as the guy who fumbled their last stand against Republicans. Newsflash: if your supposed shield-bearer is also the one stabbing you from behind, that’s not a shield, it’s a circus act.

Axios captured the fury with anonymous Democrats taking swings:

  • One called Schumer’s past betrayal over a GOP funding measure “anticipatory anger.”
  • Another said bluntly, “Schumer can’t s— the bed.”
  • Others pointed out that the Senate side is looking soft, weak, and about as spicy as mayonnaise.

Democrats are terrified their leadership has collapsed.

Party Cannibalism: Democrats Devouring Democrats

Democrats have always needed a boogeyman. Usually, it’s Trump. Sometimes it’s Putin. Occasionally, they’ll toss in Elon Musk just for variety. But Schumer? Now that’s a new twist.

Think about it: Democrats who defined their careers on “resistance” now have trouble resisting themselves. The irony is almost poetic.

For decades, the Democrat Party marketed itself as the champion of progress, diversity, and unity. Fast forward to 2025, and that “unity” is in rubble, replaced by closed-door shouting matches about who should be leading the resistance… against themselves.

It’s political cannibalism—and the hypocrisy couldn’t be louder. After years of scolding Republicans for eating their weaklings alive, Democrats are literally doing the same while Trump lounges comfortably, watching them spiral.

Pelosi on Borrowed Time

Chuck Schumer isn’t the only one with a retirement date glowing like Times Square neon. I predict that Schumer will serve his last term as a Senator. Further, Nancy Pelosi, the eternal fixture of Democratic politics, will limp through to the 2028 cycle before bowing out. The Pelosi-Schumer Era is over.

But don’t be fooled Democrats swapping out Schumer and Pelosi isn’t about ideological penance. It’s about survival. An image makeover. They’ll drop the old guard, not out of repentance but under the brute force of political necessity. The replacements won’t be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez or the Squad either. No, Democrats are keenly aware that America is allergic to the radical chic routine once it graduates from Twitter hashtags to real legislation.

Enter Trump: The Master Troll

Let’s pause and just appreciate the irony. Democrats have spent years trying to ruin Trump, and now, every ounce of their current strife only amplifies his power. It might as well be free campaign advertising.

Charlie Kirk’s shocking assassination turbocharged this shift. The Left’s violence, long dismissed as “isolated incidents,” crystallized into a narrative Trump couldn’t have written better himself. The murder validated conservative warnings about leftist extremism, adding fuel to the perception that Democrats are unraveling not just politically, but morally.

Sadly, for the orchestrators of chaos, Trump eats chaos for breakfast.

While Democrats panic over Schumer’s ability to “hold the line,” Trump thrives on poking them into meltdowns. His attitude has transitioned from annoyed adversary to full-blown FAFO Executive Branch Boss, artfully daring Democrats to implode harder.

New executive orders? More provocations? Absolutely. The more unhinged the Democrats appear, the stronger his hold over Republicans becomes. When Trump tells Democrats to “shove it,” his base hears Beethoven’s 9th Symphony.

The Death of the Beast

Schumer, Pelosi, and their generation built the Frankenstein monster of progressive politics, a lumbering creation designed to crush conservative opposition under the giant weight of identity politics and government expansion. Trouble is that Frankenstein’s monster has turned on its creators.

And conservatives, historically reluctant to play destroyer, suddenly don’t have to swing the axe—they just have to watch as the beast tears its own limbs off. Democrats created the culture of outrage, escalation, and performative purity. Now they’re choking on it.

All that’s left is to keep the spotlight on them while they implode, ensuring the American public can’t look away from the carnage. Like a political NASCAR crash, this is horrific, but you can’t resist watching with popcorn in hand.

Final Thoughts

The Democrats’ implosion isn’t temporary. This isn’t one bad vote, one bad leader, or one bad week of headlines. This is generational. A political brand that once prided itself on unity is now ripping itself apart in the public square.

Trump knows it. Republicans know it. Hell—Democrats know it too, even if most won’t admit it out loud.

The real irony is this: a party obsessed with saving America from Trump may very well destroy itself first.

In a since-deleted post on Kirk’s social media just hours before the attack, the conservative firebrand wrote: “WE. ARE. SO. BACK. Utah Valley University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour.”

The fall 2025 leg of the tour began at the Orem, Utah university and is “a nationwide campus tour aimed at equipping students with the tools to push back against leftwing indoctrination in academia and reclaim their right to free speech.”

Over 400 acts of hostility against US churches in 2024; gun-related incidents more than doubled: report

More than 400 acts of hostility were recorded against churches in the United States in 2024, with a sharp rise in gun-related incidents, according to a new report released by the Family Research Council.

The incidents highlighted in the group’s “Hostility against Churches in the United States” report released Monday morning ranged from vandalism and arson to gun-related threats, bomb hoaxes and physical assaults.

The Washington-based conservative Christian advocacy organization documented 415 hostile acts across 43 states, affecting 383 churches, based on open-source documents, media reports and official records. The total was slightly lower than the 485 incidents identified in 2023 but remained well above the yearly totals from 2018 through 2022. Since January 2018, the organization has tracked 1,384 incidents.

“Although the motivations for many of these incidents remain unknown, the rise in crimes against churches is taking place in a context in which fewer Americans are attending religious services or identifying with a specific faith,” the report notes.

According to Gallup data, less than a third of the U.S. population regularly attends church services, and researchers say “fewer Americans share a common understanding of what church buildings represent.”

“It is important to note that not all crimes against churches are motivated by hatred for Christianity. Some vandals appear to be motivated by financial gain through theft, while other culprits are teenagers engaging in a destructive pastime,” the report states.

“However, there are still incidents that seem to be targeting church intentionally and with malicious intent. Regardless of the perpetrator’s motives, such crimes can leave churches in physical, financial, and emotional disarray. Some churches struggle to cover the costs of repairs and fear future offenses.”

Gun-related incidents jumped from 12 in 2023 to 28 in 2024.

  • In one case near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a man entered Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church during a sermon and pointed a gun at the pastor before being tackled by a deacon.
  • In Georgia, an armed man disrupted services at three churches, filming his actions and encouraging others to join him.
  • In San Francisco, California, a man fired several shots at St. Augustine Catholic Church’s main doors while people were inside. In Houston, Texas, a woman wielding a long gun at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church injured two people before being shot and killed by police.

Vandalism was the most frequent offense, accounting for 284 cases. Churches reported smashed windows, destroyed statues, defaced property and theft of valuable materials such as copper wiring and air conditioning units.

  • In Portland, Oregon, Bethel Baptist Church, with about 25 congregants, has suffered repeated vandalism, including rocks thrown through windows and a recent attack that left the building covered in fire extinguisher chemicals.

“I don’t know who we’ve irritated. It’s baffling,” Deacon Mary Brown was quoted as saying.

In Brenham, Texas, First Christian Church had more than 15 newly restored windows shattered by rocks and bricks. Pastor Charles Topping said the damage appeared “angry, intentional” and left him “heartbroken” at the thought that someone could direct such anger toward a church and God.

Financial losses from these attacks were sometimes severe.

  • In San Diego, California, First Church of Christ reported an estimated $10,000 in damages when an intruder ransacked an office and ripped organ pipes from their fittings. In Oklahoma, North Peoria Church of Christ lost air conditioning units in a theft that caused $100,000 in damage.
  • Arson and suspected arson accounted for 55 incidents.
  • In Athens, Tennessee, St. Mark AME Zion Church was severely damaged after a fire destroyed its roof and interior. The suspect, who also killed church secretary Lina Buchanan before fleeing, was arrested after being identified on security footage.
  • Believer’s Joy Worship in Jacksonville, Florida, was set ablaze by a woman the congregation had previously tried to help during her mental health struggles, with flames reaching 30 feet before firefighters brought them under control.
  • In Ohio, four churches in two neighboring counties were destroyed in a four-month span; investigators believe the same individual was responsible.

There were 14 bomb threats, most of them hoaxes.

  • In Cocoa, Florida, two churches received packages claiming to contain explosives, accompanied by notes citing political grievances, including opposition to “wokism,” taxes, and the war in Ukraine. Security cameras helped identify the suspect, who was arrested.
  • Forty-seven incidents fell into an “other” category, covering physical assaults and disruptions that did not match other classifications.
  • In Louisville, Kentucky, a man broke into Zion Baptist Church and attacked a staff member with a hammer before police arrived. In Hudson, New York, a masked man in a long black cloak entered St. Mary’s Church during Sunday mass, shouted “All hail,” and held a glass bottle over his head before being restrained by congregants.

Recorded motives varied.

Incidents linked to pro-abortion sentiments dropped to two in 2024 from 11 in 2023. Anti-LGBT incidents fell from 42 in 2023 to 33, often involving theft of pride flags from churches that supported LGBT causes. Satanic-themed incidents decreased from 12 in 2023 to one in 2024.

In Portland, Oregon, a church was spray-painted with obscenities and the phrase “My body, my choice.”

June saw the highest number of incidents, with about 22% related to LGBT issues, while the lowest levels occurred from September to November. California recorded the most incidents at 40, followed by Pennsylvania with 29, Florida and New York with 25 each, Texas with 23, and Tennessee and Ohio with 19 each.

Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, who served as chairman of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom during President Trump’s first term, said the report shows “religious freedom faces substantial threats here at home.”

“We applaud the efforts of the Trump administration, but efforts must be taken at every level of government to protect and promote this fundamental human right,” Perkins said. “Christians must expect and demand more from their government leaders when it comes to prosecuting and preventing criminal acts targeting religious freedom.”

DOJ Finally Steps in After Black Mob Beats Whites, Hate Crime

The vicious attack on a white man and woman by a Black mob in Cincinnati has drawn national attention, yet the liberal media remains eerily silent. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon announced the Department of Justice will monitor the local investigation, emphasizing that federal hate crime laws apply to all Americans. Dhillon responded to Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), who slammed Cincinnati’s Democrat Mayor Aftab Pureval for his failure to condemn the racially motivated violence.

“Our federal hate crimes laws apply to ALL Americans. We @CivilRights will monitor closely how local authorities handle this attack. Nobody in our great nation should be the victim of such a crime, and where race is a motivation, federal law may apply,” Dhillon stated.

Senator Moreno blasted Pureval’s inaction: “The Mayor of Cincinnati, @AftabPureval, who has an opinion on lots of irrelevant topics, has not issued a statement, let alone a condemnation, of this heinous attack. Instead of dreaming about higher office, which will never happen, he should be ensuring his residents are safe.”

The disturbing footage, shared by Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman, shows a white man brutally beaten on the ground while an unconscious woman lies nearby, blood streaming from her mouth. Bowman, a Republican challenging Pureval in November, exposed the city’s failure to protect its citizens, revealing that no dedicated emergency dispatcher was on duty during the city’s second-largest event of the year.

“More violence from Friday night in downtown Cincinnati… Sources within the ECC have stated that Friday night, no such dispatcher was on duty. This reinforces what we’ve known, that major problems exist in the ECC relating to crime in the city. Cincinnati deserves better,” Bowman declared.

Under President Donald Trump, law and order were prioritized and hate crimes—regardless of the perpetrator’s race—were met with swift justice. The current administration’s weakness has emboldened violent mobs, while Democrat-run cities like Cincinnati descend into chaos. Trump’s return to the White House would restore accountability, ensuring that all Americans are protected from racially motivated violence.

“Have You Tried Gasoline?”: Democrats Admit Followers are Embracing Violent Rhetoric

“What we really need to do is be willing to get shot.” Those words to a Democratic member are part of a chilling Axios story on the rising violent rhetoric on the American left. As alleged Antifa members are arrested in Texas for the attempted murder of ICE agents, Democratic members are beginning to express private concerns over unleashing uncontrollable rage after their election defeat.

Axios reported on conversations with Democratic members who admit that followers are turning to violence and rejecting messages of political reform.

One House member explained that there is a “sense of fear and despair and anger” among voters that “puts us in a different position where … we can’t keep following norms of decorum.” The member does not address how Democratic leaders are fueling the rising violent rhetoric and imagery (including the most recent posted picture of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D., N.Y.) brandishing a baseball bat).

One House Democrat told Axios, “Some of them have suggested … what we really need to do is be willing to get shot.”

Yet another admitted that constituents have told them to prepare for “violence … to fight to protect our democracy.” Others reported that liberals are talking about the need “to storm the White House and stuff like that.”

One explained that “They’re angry beyond things.” Another said, “It’s like … the Roman coliseum. People just want more and more of this spectacle.”

Some are discussing triggering or staging violence. One member said, “What I have seen is a demand that we get ourselves arrested intentionally or allow ourselves to be victims of violence, and … a lot of times that’s coming from economically very secure white people.”

We have recently seen such performative acts with members like Sen. Alex Padilla (D., Cal.) heckling a press conference by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Democratic members storming an ICE facility.

In one encounter, a lawmaker told Axios: “I actually said in a meeting, ‘When they light a fire, my thought is to grab an extinguisher’. And someone at the table said, ‘Have you tried gasoline?’”

The answer is clearly yes.

Across the country, Democratic leaders are resorting to what I have called “rage rhetoric” in my book The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage.” We have already seen violent protests and planned assassinations directed against Trump Administration figures.  Democrats ratcheted up claims of a “coup” and called for Democrats to “fight in the streets.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D, Mass.) declared, “Elon Musk is seizing the power that belongs to the American people.” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D, Md.) claimed on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that Musk and Trump were conducting a “rapidly expanding and accelerating coup.”

Sen. Ron Wyden (D., Ore.) appeared to be working off the same talking point and declared that a “coup” was being carried out. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) warned that Musk was “taking away everything we have.” Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Cal.) said, “We are here to fight back.” Sen. Cory Booker (D., NJ) called on citizens to “fight” and declared, “We will rise up.”

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D., TX) yelled, “We are gonna be in your face, we are gonna be on your a–es, and we are going to make sure you understand what democracy looks like, and this ain’t it.” Rep. LaMonica McIver (D., N.J.) added: “God d—it shut down the Senate!…WE ARE AT WAR!” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., called for Democrats to fight  “in the streets.””

Such rhetoric can inspire unhinged citizens who actually believe that this is a war against a coup. It is the type of rhetoric that can prompt anti-Republican Nicholas John Roske to try to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh or Sanders supporter James T. Hodgkinson to try to massacre Republican members playing softball.

This week, the Department of Justice announced the arrest of ten alleged Antifa members who are being charged in an ambush of ICE agents in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4. Democratic members have long played a dangerous game in dismissing the violence or even the existence of groups like Antifa. Despite the denial of its existence by figures like Rep. Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.), I have long written and spoken about the threat of Antifa to free speech on our campuses and in our communities. This includes testimony before Congress on Antifa’s central role in the nationwide anti-free speech movement. We have continued to follow the attacks and arrests of Antifa followers across the country, including attacks on journalists.

Nevertheless, former Democratic National Committee deputy chair Keith Ellison, now the Minnesota attorney general, once said Antifa would “strike fear in the heart” of Trump. Ellison’s son, Minneapolis City Council member Jeremiah Ellison, declared his allegiance to Antifa in the heat of the protests this summer.

Liberal sites have sold Antifa items, including baby outfits, to celebrate the violent group.

Now, Democratic leaders are privately expressing alarm that their followers are demanding violence and rejecting moderate language.  Yet, many are fueling that rage and few of their colleagues are speaking out against them. The party is attempting to ride this wave of rage to victory. However, history shows that the enablers of the mob today often find themselves the enemies of the mob tomorrow.

LA in Chaos: Anti-ICE Mob Burns City—Media Silent! [Video]

Hundreds of far-left agitators, masquerading as “protesters,” brought chaos to downtown Los Angeles yet again on Tuesday, shutting down the Sixth Street bridge in another brazen display of lawlessness. Holding signs like “Eviction Moratorium Now!” and “ICE out of LA!”, these radicals blocked all lanes of traffic, disrupting the lives of hardworking citizens while the LAPD stood by—issuing social media updates instead of making arrests.

The scene was captured by KABC, which reported: “A large group of protesters shut down the Sixth Street bridge in downtown Los Angeles Tuesday afternoon. The demonstration blocked all eastbound and westbound lanes. AIR7 was above the scene and captured several dozen protesters walking on the bridge, many holding signs and waving flags. A large sign hanging on the bridge read ‘Sick of ICE!’ and a parked truck had a sign that read ‘ICE out of L.A.!’”

Rather than enforcing the law, the LAPD took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform the public which direction the mob was heading—effectively aiding their disruption instead of stopping it. This is the same city where, just days earlier, anti-ICE rioters ran rampant through downtown Los Angeles, burning cars, assaulting federal agents, and destroying private property. Yet, the liberal media remains eerily silent, refusing to condemn the violence while continuing to smear conservatives and patriots as the real threats to democracy.

President Donald Trump, who has long warned about the dangers of unchecked leftist mobs, has repeatedly called for law and order. Unlike the weak leadership in California, Trump understands that true justice means protecting innocent citizens from anarchists who hijack peaceful protests to push their radical agenda. While Democrats and their media allies enable this chaos, Trump stands firm in his commitment to securing our borders and supporting ICE—the very agency these rioters want abolished.

Ninth Circuit Rules for Trump on National Guard Deployment

By: Jonathan Turley | June 20, 2025

California Gov. Gavin Newsom just lost a major ruling in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which ruled that President Donald Trump is likely to prevail in his deployment of National Guard troops. Newsom and various Democratic politicians have insisted that Trump’s order is unlawful and that Newsom has to agree to any request for deployment. The Ninth Circuit ruled on Thursday that Newsom does not have such a veto over deployments.

The Ninth Circuit blocked the injunction of District Court Judge Charles Breyer who suggested in open court that Trump was acting like another “King George.” He then wrote an opinion that included many Democratic talking points — suggesting, for example, that Trump was creating disorder by calling out the National Guard to deal with disorder. Breyer further indicated that the violence in Los Angeles was relatively minor, despite potentially deadly attacks on law enforcement, arson, and looting.

Breyer gave the Administration little time to appeal his ruling, but it was enough for the Ninth Circuit.

Title 10 provides:

Whenever—

(1) the United States, or any of the Commonwealths or

possessions, is invaded or is in danger of invasion by a

foreign nation;

(2) there is a rebellion or danger of a rebellion against the

authority of the Government of the United States; or

(3) the President is unable with the regular forces to execute the laws of the United States;

the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary to repel the invasion, suppress the rebellion, or execute those laws. Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States or, in the case of the District of Columbia, through the commanding general of the National Guard of the District of Columbia.

10 U.S.C. § 12406.

In his decision, Judge Breyer took the extreme position that Trump could not use subsection 3 if there was any possibility of executing federal laws absent the use of the National Guard troops:

[T]he statute does not allow for the federalizing of the National Guard when the President faces obstacles that cause him to underperform in executing the laws. Nor does the statute allow for the federalizing of the National Guard when the President faces some risk in executing the laws. . . . The statute requires that the President be “unable” to execute the laws of the United States. That did not happen here.

In its decision, the court rejected this premise and held that “Section 12406 does not have as a prerequisite that the President be completely precluded from executing the relevant laws of the United States in order to call members of the National Guard into federal service, nor does it suggest that activation is inappropriate so long as any continued execution of the laws is feasible.”

It concluded that “it is likely that the President lawfully exercised his statutory authority” in federalizing control of the guard. It also rejected Newsom’s claim of a veto on deployment.

Jonathan Turley Op-ed: Assassination Sweepstakes: The Shooting of Minnesota Politicians Unleashes Partisan Finger Pointing

Commentary by Jonathan Turley | June 15, 2025

Read more at https://jonathanturley.org/2025/06/15/the-assassination-sweepstakes-the-shooting-of-minnesota-politicians-unleashes-fingerpointing-on-both-sides/

It is arguably the most disheartening aspect of the “Age of Rage.” Almost immediately after the shooting of Minnesota politicians and their spouses, the press, pundits, and politicians leaped to capitalize on the tragedy by blaming the other side for political violence. There is a sick, almost hopeful, quality to the commentary as political pundits hope that they win this round of the assassination sweepstakes with a criminal associated with the other party. Initial reports fueled such speculation on both sides. Some are now saying that Boelter suffered from “MAGA disease” while others are claiming that he is a “far left” goon. Still others insist that he is “a far right, MAGA, left wing loon,

Both sides found just enough to weaponize the shootings. Vance Luther Boelter has connections to Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who reappointed him to a state board. He is also someone who reportedly voted for Trump and opposed the abortion movement.

As we have discussed, there is a rise in political violence in this country. From January 6th to attempted assassinations of both President Donald Trump and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, there is a radicalization that is occurring within our society. It is the license of rage that I discuss in my book where unhinged individuals believe that any means are now justified to counter a political threat.

The fact is that rage rhetoric has been common on both sides of the political spectrum for years. Politicians continue to fan these flames, including many who insist that democracy is about to die in this country, or call Trump the new Hitler. Leaders on both sides have called their opponents “traitors” and threats to the nation.

The fact is that we still know little about Boelter. He had “No Kings” literature in his car but that does not mean that he was motivated by those protests. We still do not know what is contained in a reported manifesto left by the shooter.

The only thing that is likely is that Boelter is another unstable loner who took his anger out on others. There are reports that he was in difficult financial straits and suffered a series of setbacks. He was the CEO of an international NGO called the Red Lion Group, which appears to have run out of funding. There are reports that he was holding a variety of odd jobs to sustain himself.

The fact is that we have a significant number of people who are mentally unstable or delusional. Anger in their lives is easily translated into a lethal obsession for public officials or public figures, particularly when leaders call on people to resist opponents labeled as traitors or tyrants.

The rush to claim Boelter as a devotee of the left or right only shows how these critics are engaging in the very rage rhetoric that they are supposedly condemning.

We should know the actual facts soon, including the contents of this manifesto. So here is a novel idea: perhaps we should wait for those facts rather than engage in this frenzy of recrimination and rage.

Body Found Amid Protests: LA Riots Enter Fifth Night

Early Tuesday morning, a man was tragically found dead on a sidewalk in downtown Los Angeles. This discovery occurred amid the ongoing chaos linked to anti-ICE protests. The body was found near the busy intersection of West 3rd Street and Broadway, an area ravaged by looting just hours before.

Law enforcement officials were alerted around 1:30 a.m., responding swiftly to the reports from concerned residents. The Los Angeles Police Department, keeping details under wraps for now, has yet to release the man’s identity. The cause of death remains a mystery as investigations are underway.

Local station KTLA provided footage from the scene, showing the man dressed in a red sweatshirt, lying motionless as detectives combed through the area. A canopy was raised over the body, marking the spot for further examination. This tragic event unfolded next to a T-Mobile store that had been looted earlier in the evening.

Authorities are still trying to determine if the man’s death is connected to the riots which have plagued Los Angeles for five days straight. These riots erupted on June 6, following ICE operations aimed at curbing illegal activities in the city. It’s a tense time, with emotions running high.

The protests, while aimed at expressing dissent, have spiraled into violent outbreaks and significant property damage. More than 150 arrests have been made in connection with the ongoing violence, as reported by local authorities. The unrest has not only left a trail of destruction but has also seen injuries among law enforcement officers.

To restore order, President Donald Trump took decisive action by sending 2,000 National Guard troops to the city on June 7. This force was bolstered by an additional 2,000 troops just two days later, with 700 active-duty Marines joining them under Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s orders. The objective was clear: restore peace and protect the community.

ICE has confirmed that since the protests erupted, they’ve conducted 118 immigration-related arrests. Federal officials are unwavering, indicating that immigration enforcement operations will forge ahead. The Department of Justice stands firm, warning that crimes against federal entities will not be tolerated.

As the investigation into the man’s death presses on, local leaders urge calm amidst the storm. They are asking the community to distance themselves from violence and allow the investigation to unfold. The possibility of the man’s death being linked to the protests is not off the table, with officials awaiting autopsy results.

While the city grapples with these events, it’s clear that the call for peace is paramount. The authorities are working diligently to piece together the circumstances surrounding the death. They are also focused on bringing those responsible for the unrest to justice.

The city stands at a crossroads, with tensions simmering and communities divided. Leaders emphasize the importance of dialogue and understanding over destruction. The message is clear: violence is not the answer.

The protests have undoubtedly shone a spotlight on issues that resonate deeply with many. However, the path forward requires cooperation and respect for the rule of law. As investigations continue, the hope is for a resolution that respects both justice and peace.

While authorities continue their work, the community is left to reflect on the events that have unfolded. The situation is a stark reminder of the challenges faced when order breaks down. But it also highlights the resilience of those committed to restoring harmony.

As the situation evolves, everyone involved is looking to balance the need for security with the right to protest. It’s a delicate dance, one that requires careful consideration and respect for all parties involved. The balance of maintaining peace while allowing voices to be heard is a difficult yet necessary task.

With the National Guard and local law enforcement working in tandem, the aim is to prevent further chaos. The presence of these forces serves as both a deterrent to lawlessness and a reassurance to the community. Their role is crucial in these trying times.

The hope is that with continued efforts, the city can emerge from this unrest stronger and more united. It’s a challenging period, but with determination and a commitment to dialogue, there is a path forward. Los Angeles, like many cities before it, has the potential to heal and grow from these experiences.

The focus remains on ensuring that justice is served, both for the individual found dead and for the community at large. It’s a complex situation, but with perseverance, there is optimism for a resolution that honors both justice and peace. The journey ahead may be difficult, but the potential for positive change remains.

Trump Considers Deploying U.S. Marines to Los Angeles as Anti-ICE Protests Escalate (VIDEO)

By Jim Hoft – The Gateway Pundit – June 9, 2025

As lawless chaos continues to grip the streets of Los Angeles, President Donald Trump is considering the deployment of United States Marines to restore order and protect American citizens from insurrection against federal law enforcement.
During an interview with reporters over the weekend, President Trump refused to rule out sending in active-duty Marines to restore law and order as anti-ICE protests spiral out of control across the city.
“We’re going to have troops everywhere,” Trump said. “We’re not going to let this happen to our country. We’re not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden.”… READ MORE

Watch: Former Dem Strategist Snaps Back, LA Burns While Liberals Look Away!

While violent riots erupted in Los Angeles following ICE raids, the liberal media and Democratic leaders have either downplayed the destruction or outright justified the lawlessness. Former Democratic strategist Dan Turrentine didn’t hold back in his criticism, stating that his own party has “lost its mind” for tolerating attacks on federal officers and property. “You simply cannot do this,” Turrentine declared on The Morning Meeting, condemning the Democratic Party’s refusal to uphold law and order.

Despite clear footage of rioters hurling rocks at ICE agents, setting cars ablaze, and assaulting law enforcement, Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters shamelessly claimed there was “no violence” in Los Angeles. Her denial flies in the face of reality, as Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McConnell confirmed officers were targeted with “commercial-grade fireworks” capable of killing them. Video evidence further exposed a helmet-clad agitator smashing the windshields of federal vehicles—yet the left continues to peddle the myth of “peaceful protests.”

Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass hesitated to act, seemingly more concerned with appeasing their far-left base than protecting citizens. Turrentine accused them of sympathizing with the rioters, stating, “They didn’t really see a problem with it… because it’s in the name of what we believe.” This reckless mindset has turned Los Angeles into a war zone, with Democrats enabling chaos rather than enforcing the law.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump took decisive action, deploying the National Guard to restore order—a move met with hysterical backlash from Democrats. Newsom whined on social media, calling the deployment an overreach, even as his own city burned. Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin rightly called out Democratic leaders like Hakeem Jeffries and Mayor Bass for fueling violence with their anti-ICE rhetoric. “Make no mistake, Democrat politicians… are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification,” she stated.

WATCH

The liberal media, ever eager to spin the narrative, has ignored the truth: Democrats’ open-border policies and demonization of law enforcement have consequences. While they cry foul over Trump’s strong leadership, Americans see the results—swift action versus dangerous inaction. The choice is clear: safety and security under Trump, or chaos and lawlessness under the left.

Victor Davis Hanson on LA: Gavin Newsom Has ‘Ruined His Chances Ever to be a Serious National Candidate’ (VIDEO)

By Mike LaChance – The Gateway Pundit – June 9, 2025

Conservative scholar and historian Victor Davis Hanson has released a new video in which he talks about the situation in Los Angeles.
Right out of the gate, Hanson suggests that California Governor Gavin Newsom has ‘ruined’ whatever chance he had to be taken seriously as a national candidate. If that wasn’t true after the way he handled the wildfires, it certainly is now.
Speaking more broadly, Hanson notes the optics of the situation and says it’s going to end badly for Democrats.

Noem: ICE Arrests Illegal Tied to Threat on Trump’s Life

By Michael Katz    |   Wednesday, 28 May 2025 03:36 PM EDT

Read more at https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/krisit-noem-donald-trump-illegal-immigrant/2025/05/28/id/1212688/

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials arrested an illegal alien who allegedly wrote a letter in which he threatened to kill President Donald Trump. On May 21, an ICE field intelligence officer received a handwritten letter in the mail allegedly from Ramon Morales Reyes, 54, a Mexican national who entered the U.S. illegally at least nine times between 1998-2005. The next day, Reyes was arrested.

“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” Noem said in a statement, which included a copy of the letter allegedly written by Reyes and details of his arrest. “This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and less than two weeks after former FBI Director [James] Comey called for the President’s assassination.”

Noem was referring to a now-deleted Instagram post by Comey of a photo of seashells arranged on a beach to form the numbers “86 47” — a combination many interpreted as a coded call for violence against President Trump.

“All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric,” Noem said. “I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”

Reyes’ criminal record includes arrests for felony hit and run, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier, DHS said. He is in ICE custody at Dodge County Jail in Juneau, Wisconsin, pending his removal proceedings.

The letter stated, “We are tired of this president messing with us Mexicans – we have done more for this country than you white people – you have been deporting my family and I think it is time Donald J. Trump get what he has coming to him. I will self deport myself back to Mexico but not before I use my 30 yard 6 [rifle] to shoot your precious president in the head – I will see him at one of his big rally’s.”

Christian Group Attacked by Radicals in Seattle…Mayor Criticizes the Christians

On Saturday, Antifa and other radicals launched another violent attack on conservatives. Pastors were holding what they described as a permitted Christian worship event in a park when black-clad Antifa members tried to storm and tear down a barricade. To their credit, the Seattle police moved in and arrested the radicals. However, what happened next is even more concerning: Mayor Bruce Harrell seemed to blame the Christian group and demanded to know why they were given a permit at all for an event in the area.

Police in Seattle are shown in videotapes taking down several black-clad and masked individuals who tried to overcome the fencing and storm the stage. That is clearly an improvement over the “summer of love” approach previously in Seattle.

Seattle is proud of our reputation as a welcoming, inclusive city for LGBTQ+ communities, and we stand with our trans neighbors when they face bigotry and injustice. Today’s far-right rally was held here for this very reason – to provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values, in the heart of Seattle’s most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood.

When the humanity of trans people and those who have been historically marginalized is questioned, we triumph by demonstrating our values through our words and peaceful protest – we lose our voice when this is disrupted by violence, chaos, and confusion.

While there are broad First Amendment requirements around permitting events under free speech protections, I am directing the Parks Department to review all of the circumstances of this application to understand whether there were legal location alternatives or other adjustments that could have been pursued. The Police Department will complete an after-action report of this event, including understanding preparation, crowd management tactics, and review of arrests and citations.

We have discussed other Democratic politicians like Nancy Pelosi demanding reviews or revocation of permits going to Christian or conservative groups. The problem is that conservative or religious views are treated as triggering — a common claim in higher education.

I do not know anything about this Christian group, but they were clearly the victims, not the cause, of this violence. The suggestion that the location was too triggering for transgender activists is yet another example of a failure of leadership on the left.

These two groups clearly disagree on transgender policies. Fine. Protest and counterprotest. However, the police showed how to maintain a principled line. They did not take sides. They protected the free speech rights on both sides and confined their role to maintaining the peace.

Democratic politicians and pundits continue to legitimate Antifa and even align themselves with the vehemently anti-free speech group. This includes selling Antifa gifts on popular sites.

As discussed in my new book, “The Indispensable Right: Free Speech in an Age of Rage,” I explore the history of Antifa as a movement that began in Germany. Despite the denial of its existence by figures like Rep. Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.), I have long written and spoken about the threat of Antifa to free speech on our campuses and in our communities. This includes testimony before Congress on Antifa’s central role in the anti-free speech movement nationally.

As I have previously written, it has long been the “Keyser Söze” of the anti-free speech movement, a loosely aligned group that employs measures to avoid easy detection or association.  Yet, FBI Director Chris Wray repeatedly pushed back on the denials of Antifa’s work or violence. In one hearing, Wray stated, “And we have quite a number” — and “Antifa is a real thing. It’s not a fiction.”

We have continued to follow the attacks and arrests of Antifa followers across the country, including attacks on journalists.

Some Democrats have played a dangerous game in supporting or excusing the work of Antifa. Former Democratic National Committee deputy chair Keith Ellison, now the Minnesota attorney general, once said Antifa would “strike fear in the heart” of Trump. This was after Antifa had been involved in numerous acts of violence, and its website was banned in Germany.

Ellison’s son, Minneapolis City Council member Jeremiah Ellison, declared his allegiance to Antifa in the heat of the protests this summer. During a prior hearing, Democratic senators refused to denounce Antifa. Likewise, Joe Biden has dismissed objections to Antifa as just “an idea.”

Democratic leaders are playing a dangerous game in pandering to these extreme elements of their party. In the end, they will fare no better than their enemies as this mob turns on enabling establishment figures.

EXCLUSIVE: 5 years later: Justice after George Floyd? The dismissed lawsuit revealing the truth—and Derek Chauvin’s response

By Dr. JC Chaix – AlphaNew.org – May 20, 2025

In an exclusive phone call from prison, Chauvin himself said then-Inspector Katie Blackwell’s testimony was “outright perjury.”
When a police chief doesn’t want you to look at police body camera videos, then you know you need to look beyond the lies and see the facts for yourself. From the very beginning, many of our so-called leaders misspoke and misjudged what was necessary to keep the peace and let justice truly prevail in Minneapolis.
Following the arrest and heart attack of George Floyd, police bodycam videos were withheld. Lawyers engaged in lawfare, and riots, protests and politics made any hope of a fair and impartial trial for the four accused officers nothing more than an impossibility… READ MORE

Left Glorifies Another Murderer- Man Mows Down Officer After Son’s Shootout

By: Daphne Moon | May 7, 2025

In a shocking and tragic sequence of events, a man whose son was fatally shot by Cincinnati police the day before deliberately struck and killed a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy with his car, authorities confirmed. The incident, which unfolded near the University of Cincinnati during graduation festivities, has sparked outrage and condemnation from officials, with Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine stating he was “sickened by what appears to be an intentional act of violence.”

Rodney Hinton Jr., 38, was charged with aggravated murder after allegedly driving directly into Deputy [Name Not Released], who was directing traffic at the time. The deputy, a retired officer working an off-duty assignment, was rushed to UC Medical Center in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey described the fallen deputy as “so well-liked and so well-known,” adding, “What a tremendous loss we have all suffered.”

A Calculated Act of Retribution?

The chilling incident comes just one day after Hinton’s 18-year-old son, Ryan Hinton, was shot and killed by Cincinnati police during a pursuit following a stolen vehicle report. Police claim the teen pointed a gun at officers, prompting the fatal shooting. Bodycam footage released Friday shows an officer shouting, “He’s got a gun, he’s got a gun!” before multiple shots ring out as Ryan flees behind an apartment complex. However, Police Chief Teresa Theetge admitted there was “no indication that he fired at police before he was shot.”

While the liberal media has been quick to frame this tragedy as another example of systemic police brutality, they conveniently ignore the fact that Ryan Hinton was allegedly armed and evading arrest. Instead of focusing on the officer’s split-second decision in a life-or-death situation, left-wing outlets have subtly justified Rodney Hinton’s alleged retaliatory killing of an innocent deputy—a blatant double standard that undermines law enforcement.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich vowed, “If the facts show this act was intentional, as the charge suggests, I will throw the full force of the law at the perpetrator.” Yet, one can’t help but wonder if the same fervor would exist if the roles were reversed and a cop had targeted a civilian in retribution.

Selective Outrage and Media Bias

The mainstream media’s coverage of this case reeks of hypocrisy. While they amplify narratives of police misconduct, they downplay or outright ignore violent acts against officers. Where is the outrage for a deputy murdered in cold blood? Where are the protests for the law enforcement family now grieving? The silence is deafening.

Meanwhile, Rodney Hinton’s defense is already being subtly softened. WLWT-TV reported that his attorney emphasized he “has no prior felonies and understands it’s a serious charge.” But does a clean record excuse an alleged premeditated murder? The liberal playbook seems to think so—unless, of course, the perpetrator wears a badge.

The American Jacobin: How Some on the Left have Found Release in an Age of Rage

Commentary by Jonathan Turley | April 7, 2025

Below is my column in the Hill on the rising political violence on the left. Many have found an irresistible release from both reason and responsibility in rage. A new study found more people embracing political violence. Joel Finkelstein, the lead author of the report, stated that “what was formerly taboo culturally has become acceptable… We are seeing a clear shift – glorification, increased attempts and changing norms – all converging into what we define as ‘assassination culture.’” Roughly 40 percent reportedly found it somewhat justifiable to burn a Tesla or even to kill Donald Trump.

Here is the column:

“We should replace our piece of crap Constitution.”

Those words from author Elie Mystal, a regular commentator on MSNBC, are hardly surprising from someone who previously called the Constitution “trash” and urged not just the abolition of the U.S. Senate but also of “all voter registration laws.” But Mystal’s radical rhetoric is becoming mainstream on the left, as shown by his best-selling books and popular media appearances.

There is a counter-constitutional movement building in law schools and across the country. And although Mystal has not advocated violence, some on the left are turning to political violence and criminal acts. It is part of the “righteous rage” that many of them see as absolving them from the basic demands not only of civility but of legality. They are part of a rising class of American Jacobins — bourgeois revolutionaries increasingly prepared to trash everything, from cars to the Constitution.

The Jacobins were a radical group in France that propelled that country into the worst excesses of the French Revolution. They were largely affluent citizens, including journalists, professors, lawyers, and others who shredded existing laws and destroyed property. It would ultimately lead not only to the blood-soaked “Reign of Terror” but also to the demise of the Jacobins themselves as more radical groups turned against them.

Of course, it is not revolution on the minds of most of these individuals. It is rage. Rage is the ultimate drug. It offers a release from longstanding social norms — a license to do those things long repressed by individuals who viewed themselves as decent, law-abiding citizens. Across the country, liberals are destroying Tesla cars, torching dealerships and charging stations, and even allegedly hitting political dissenters with their cars.

Last week, affluent liberal shoppers admitted that they are shoplifting from Whole Foods to strike back at Jeff Bezos for working with the Trump administration and moving the Washington Post back to the political center. They are also enraged at Mark Zuckerberg for restoring free speech protections at Meta.

One “20-something communications professional” in Washington explained “If a billionaire can steal from me, I can scrape a little off the top, too.”  These affluent shoplifters portrayed themselves as Robin Hoods. Of course, that is assuming Robin Hood was stealing organic fruit from the rich and giving it to himself.

On college campuses, affluent students and even professors are engaging in political violence. Just this week, University of Wisconsin Professor José Felipe Alvergue, head of the English Department, turned over the table of College Republicans supporting a conservative for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He reportedly declared, “The time for this is over!” Likewise, a mob this week attacked a conservative display and tent on the campus of the University of California-Davis as campus police passively watched. The Antifa protesters, carrying a large banner with the slogan “ACAB” or “all cops are bastards,” trashed the tent and carried it off.

Antifa is a violent and vehemently anti-free speech group that thrives on U.S. college campuses. In his book “Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook,” Mark Bray explains that “most Americans in Antifa have been anarchists or antiauthoritarian communists. … From that standpoint, ‘free speech’ as such is merely a bourgeois fantasy unworthy of consideration.”

Of course, many of the American Jacobins are themselves bourgeois or even affluent figures. And they are finding a host of enablers telling them that the Constitution itself is a threat, and that the legal system has been corrupted by oligarchs, white supremacists, or reactionaries. This includes leading academics and commentators who are denouncing the Constitution and core American values. Erwin Chemerinsky, dean of the UC Berkeley Law School, is the author of “No Democracy Lasts Forever: How the Constitution Threatens the United States.”

In a New York Times op-ed, “The Constitution Is Broken and Should Not Be Reclaimed,” law professors Ryan D. Doerfler of Harvard and Samuel Moyn of Yale called for the nation to “reclaim America from constitutionalism.”

Commentator Jennifer Szalai has scoffed at what she called “Constitution worship.” “Americans have long assumed that the Constitution could save us,” she wrote. “A growing chorus now wonders whether we need to be saved from it.”

As intellectuals knock down our laws and Constitution, radicals are pouring into the breach. Political violence and rage rhetoric are becoming more common. Some liberals embraced groups like Antifa, while others shrugged off property damage and violent threats against political opponents. It is the very type of incitement or rage rhetoric that Democrats once accused Trump of fostering in groups like the Proud Boys.

Members of Congress such as Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) have called for Tesla CEO Elon Musk to betaken down and said that Democrats have to be OK with punching.” Some take such words as a justification to violently attack a system supposedly advancing the white supremacy or fascism. Fortunately, such violence has been confined so far to a minority of radicalized individuals, but there is an undeniable increase in such violent, threatening speech and in actual violence.

The one thing the American Jacobins will not admit is that they like the rage and the release that it brings them. From shoplifting to arson to attempted assassination, the rejection of our legal system brings them freedom to act outside of morality and to take whatever they want.

Democratic leaders see these “protests” as needed popularism to combat Trump — to make followers “strike ready” and “to stand up and fight back.”

For a politician, a mob can become irresistible if you can steer it against your opponents. The problem is controlling the mob once it has broken free of the bounds of legal and personal accountability.

The Violent Left’s Tesla Tantrums and Their Psychotic Rampages

The Psychology of Mindless Vandalism

I’ve never keyed a car. Growing up poor teaches you the value of things—you don’t destroy what others worked for, even when furious. Sure, I’ve wanted to. Like when some smug jerk stole the parking spot I’d waited 10 minutes for, engine idling, blinker flashing like a damn lighthouse. But I didn’t. Because adults don’t throw tantrums over petty slights.

Yet today, Teslas are being keyed, torched, and firebombed by people who’ve never met the owners. These vandals aren’t reacting to personal wrongs—they’re attacking symbols. A Tesla isn’t just a car to them; it’s a stand-in for Elon Musk, “tech bros,” or capitalism itself. This isn’t anger; it’s ideological possession.

The Escalating Insanity

The crimes are getting bolder. Last week, the Department of Justice announced charges against three individuals who attacked Tesla.

  • In Salem, Oregon, a man armed with an AR-15 hurled eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership.
  • In Loveland, Colorado, a Leftist tried to burn Teslas—police found bomb-making materials in his home.
  • In Charleston, South Carolina, a man firebombed Tesla chargers, leaving profane anti-Trump notes as his manifesto.

This isn’t random hooliganism. It’s coordinated rage, fueled by a movement that glorifies destruction as “justice.”

The Left’s Hypocrisy on Violence

Democrats shriek about “right-wing extremism” while their own movement literally burns cities and glorifies murderers.

  • Summer 2020: After George Floyd’s death (a career criminal high on fentanyl), Leftists rioted in over 140 cities, causing $2 billion in damages. CNN called it “fiery but mostly peaceful protest.”
  • Luigi Mangione (December 2023): This Leftist activist gunned down an insurance executive in broad daylight. Progressive media nuanced the murder, with pundits suggesting the victim “represented healthcare greed.”
  • Portland Autonomous Zone (2022): Leftist militants seized city blocks, assaulted journalists, and firebombed federal buildings—yet the DOJ prosecuted fewer than 10% of arrestees.

Meanwhile, when conservatives disagree with a company (Target, Bud Light), we boycott. When Leftists lose an argument, they reach for a brick and a gasoline can.

The Psychological Playbook

Why do they do it? Science has answers:

  1. Displaced Aggression (Dollard et al., 1939)
    • They’re mad at “the system,” but since they can’t burn down capitalism, they torch Teslas instead.
  2. Moral Disengagement (Bandura, 1999)
    • They tell themselves: “Elon is a Nazi!” or “This is for the planet!” to justify arson.
  3. Deindividuation (Festinger et al., 1952)
    • In mobs (or online echo chambers), they lose all shame. “Everyone’s doing it—why shouldn’t I?”
  4. Ideological Possession (Hoffer, 1951)
    • They’re not thinking—they’re believing. Tesla = evil, so destroying it = holy.

This Isn’t Normal Crime—It’s Political Warfare

Random car keying’s? Annoying. Organized firebombings? Domestic terrorism. Biden’s DOJ treated January 6 protesters like Al-Qaeda but yawns as Leftists literally make bombs. The media to this day commits to the lie of J6 but expresses little outrage to the domestic terrorists torching Tesla dealerships.

If this were MAGA fans torching Priuses, CNN would demand martial law. But since it’s their side? Mostly crickets.

And what if it escalates to direct attacks on people driving Teslas?

The Left’s Cult of Destruction

This isn’t about cars. It’s about what happens when ideology replaces morality—when people are trained to see violence as virtuous. The Tesla vandals aren’t rebels. They’re brainwashed foot soldiers in a movement that rewards destruction.

And until the FBI starts treating them like the terrorists they are, it’ll only get worse.
