Christmas Stockings

Fireside Chats: Christmas Stockings
Saturday, December 13, 2014 Devotion by Dr. David Jeremiah of Turning Point Ministries
”So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury.”” (Mark 12:43; NKJV)
“Your love must be real. Hate what is evil. Do only what is good. Love each other in a way that makes you feel close like brothers and sisters. And give each other more honor than you give yourself. As you serve the Lord, work hard and don’t be lazy. Be excited about serving him! Be happy because of the hope you have. Be patient when you have troubles. Pray all the time. Share with God’s people who need help. Look for people who need help and welcome them into your homes.’

“Wish only good for those who treat you badly. Ask God to bless them, not curse them. When others are happy, you should be happy with them. And when others are sad, you should be sad too. Live together in peace with each other. Don’t be proud, but be willing to be friends with people who are not important to others. Don’t think of yourself as smarter than everyone else.’

“If someone does you wrong, don’t try to pay them back by hurting them. Try to do what everyone thinks is right. Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone. My friends, don’t try to punish anyone who does wrong to you. Wait for God to punish them with his anger. In the Scriptures the Lord says,
“I am the one who punishes;
I will pay people back.”Deuteronomy 32:35
20But you should do this:
“If you have enemies who are hungry,
give them something to eat.
If you have enemies who are thirsty,
give them something to drink.
In doing this you will make them feel ashamed” Proverbs 25:21-22
“Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good.” (Romans 12:9-21: Easy to Read Version, American Bible Society)
A poor man, father of three beautiful daughters, had no money to provide for their marriages or their futures. Hearing this, Saint Nicholas secretly put a bag of gold in the daughters’ stockings, which were hanging by the fireplace to dry overnight. Upon rising, the family was overjoyed. Ever since, children have hung up stockings on Christmas Eve in hopes of a visit from Saint Nicholas.
That’s the closest we can come to the origin of Christmas stockings. Regardless of the origin of the practice, one thing is evident: Christmas stockings can only hold small gifts. Indeed, what would fit in a child’s stocking was the extent of the earliest Christmas gifts from parents to children. And therein is the lesson: It’s the little things that matter most at Christmas. Jesus Himself revealed the true meaning of value when He commended a widow in Jerusalem for putting two pennies into the Temple treasury.
As you plan your Christmas giving this year, keep “value” in mind. Gifts wrapped in Christmas love are the most valuable of all.

SAVAGE: Is Burning Whites The NEW ‘Knock Out’ Game for Blacks?

Posted on December 12, 2014 By Angela Turner, Clash Daily Guest Contributor

Is burning whites the new knock-out game? Scroll down to see the stories of 16 WHITE people that were burned by BLACKS in the last few years. With the endless media frenzy focused on Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin, you will not hear about most of these from the mainstream media. Why? Because they are white.

With the recent gruesome murder of Jessica Chambers, there is widespread speculation and argument as to whether her killer was black or white. Jessica, a 19 year old from Mississippi, was found walking, engulfed in flames after her attackers put lighter fluid in her mouth and lit her on fire. The attack happened on December 6, in Mississippi. While we wait for the police to make an arrest, we want to introduce you to 16 people that the media virtually ignored. It seems the new knockout game is often lethal. Lock and load.

Jessica Chambers image (1)image

They are all different ages, from all different states, but they have one thing in common they are all white and burned by blacks.

Robin and Mani Aldridge image (2)

Just last week, a beloved special needs teacher and her high school junior daughter from Charlettesville Virginia were beaten before they were burned in a house fire. Police arrested a black man named Gene Everett Washington and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder. I wonder why MSNBC is not covering this??

Michael Brewer image (3)

15 year old Michael from Miami had burns over 60% of his body after 3 black classmates poured alcohol on him and set him on fire in a racist hate crime. All 3 are serving time in prison.

Allen Goin image (4)

A 13 year old from Kansas City, his 2 black teen attackers put him in a bear hug, poured gasoline on him and set him on fire saying, “This is what you get white boy”.

Gabriela Penalba image (5)

A 23 year old teacher in Knoxville Tennessee was set on fire by a 15 year old black student. She briefly turned her back to the class when the student lit her hair and shirt ablaze.

Kathryn “Kit” Grazioli image (6)

Colorado Springs Firefighters found Kit’s body burning on a trail after a nearby resident called to report the fire. Officers arrested a black 21-year-old, Marcus Smith and charged him with 1st degree murder. Kit was a deacon at her church and loved by the community.

Jonathan Foster image (7)

In Houston, Mona Nelson, a black 44 year old woman abducted and killed 12 year old Jonathan with a blow torch on Christmas Eve, later dumping his body in a ditch. She was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison. The story was getting mainstream media coverage until they arrested a black woman.

Kenneth Athey im

Beaten with a hammer, stabbed, doused with chemicals and set on fire, 87 year old Kenneth survived to testify against his black male attacker.

Two black brothers were arrested for shooting and burning Richard, a father from South Carolina.

Flo “Violet” Parker unnamed (1)

The 67 year old homeless woman from California was set on fire by a black man as she simply slept on a bench.

Nancy Harris unnamed (2)

The 76 year old Grandmother was killed when a black man set fire to her while she was working at a convenience mart. She was loved in her Texas hometown and known as Grandma to everyone.

Melinda McCormick unnamed (3)

A black woman and 2 black men beat and burned Melinda in a horrific race hate crime.

Jimmy Sanders unnamed (4)

Shot and burned after stopping to help 2 black men, Erik Ellis, 28, and Malcolm Melton, 22, with car trouble. “He didn’t answer his phone. I called about eight or nine times. About an hour after he wouldn’t answer I got really really nervous and upset,” Betty Sanders said. Jimmy was 65 and also from Mississippi, where Jessica Chambers was just burned.

Obama Justice Department Was Involved In IRS Targeting, Lerner Emails Reveal

Sadly, the 18 month investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups isn’t over, and it may be worse than anyone thought. A federal judge has broken loose more emails that the DOJ had surely hoped would never surface. The picture it reveals isn’t pretty. The documents prove that Lois Lerner met with DOJ’s Election Crimes Division a month before the 2010 elections.

It has to be embarrassing to the DOJ, which may not be the most impartial one to be investigating the IRS. In fact, the DOJ withheld over 800 pages of Lerner documents citing “taxpayer privacy” and “deliberative privilege.” Yet these internal DOJ documents show Ms. Lerner was talking to DOJ officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities (yes, criminally!) two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting.

Obamas IRS GestapoMs. Lerner met with top officials from the DOJ’s Election Crimes Branch in October of 2010. Although Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the DOJ (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice, No. 14-cv-01239), the DOJ coughed up dirt only on court order. Even then, the DOJ handed over only two pages of heavily redacted emails.

What’s more, the DOJ withheld 832 pages in their entirety. They revealed that Mr. Obama’s DOJ called an October 8, 2010 meeting with the IRS “concerning 501(c)(4) issues.” On September 30, 2010, the DOJ’s Election Crimes prosecutor emailed Ms. Lerner:

“Hi Lois-It’s been a long time, and you might not remember me, I’ve taken on [REDACTED] duties. I’m looking forward to meeting you, Can we chat in advance? I’m a [REDACTED]”

Ms. Lerner responded on October 2, 2010:

“Sure-that’s a good Idea [sic]. I have a meeting out of the office Monday morning, but will try you when I get back sometime early afternoon. You can try me at 202 283-8848.”Hold Lois Lerner in Contempt.

Documents from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the IRS show that Ms. Lerner asked the DOJ whether tax-exempt entities could be criminally prosecuted. This May 8, 2013 email by Ms. Lerner went to Nikole C. Flax, Chief of Staff to Acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller, who would later be fired by President Obama:

“I got a call today from Richard Pilger Director Elections Crimes Branch at DOJ … He wanted to know who at IRS the DOJ folk s [sic] could talk to about Sen. Whitehouse idea at the hearing that DOJ could piece together false statement cases about applicants who “lied” on their 1024s–saying they weren’t planning on doing political activity, and then turning around and making large visible political expenditures. DOJ is feeling like it needs to respond, but want to talk to the right folks at IRS to see whether there are impediments from our side and what, if any damage this might do to IRS programs. I told him that sounded like we might need several folks from IRS…”nonsense

DOJ’s Mr. Pilger admitted that DOJ officials met Ms. Lerner in October 2010. Moreover, according to congressional investigators, a Lerner email from October 5, 2010 shows the IRS sent the FBI and DOJ a “1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations” that contained confidential taxpayer information.

In her May 2013 answer to a planted question about the alleged targeting of Tea Party and conservative groups, Ms. Lerner suggested that the alleged targeting occurred due to an “uptick” in 501 (c)(4) applications to the IRS. In reality, there was a decrease, and as for targeting (what targeting?), well, you know the rest.

Remember those rogue IRS employees in Cincinnati? They were confused. And while all Americans should be concerned, Judicial Watch sounds fit to be tied.

“No wonder the Department of Justice under Eric Holder has done no serious investigation of the Obama IRS scandal,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These new documents dramatically show how the Justice Department is up to its neck in the IRS scandal and can’t be trusted to investigate crimes associated with the IRS abuses that targeted Obama’s critics,” he said. “Richard Nixon was impeached for less.”Obama's IRS Gestapo

Perhaps the latter is an overstatement. Yet it is getting harder and harder to simply accept President Obama’s ‘no smidgen of corruption’ remark made to Fox News in February, no matter how sincere and forthright his delivery.

The Self-Hating Americans

By Jeffrey Lord – 12.11.14

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://spectator.org/articles/61216/self-hating-americans

What the CIA report says about the American Left;

  • They hate America.

  • They hate themselves for being Americans. What Liberals have accomplished so far

And in a vivid display of just how far self-hating Americans will go to smear their own country, look no further than this quickly infamous leftist-generated so-called CIA report. Its title as bequeathed by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence: Committee Study of the Central Intelligence Agency’s Detention and Interrogation Program.

Three former CIA directors, two former deputy CIA directors, and a former Democratic Senator on the Senate Intelligence Committee have responded in detail to the report pushed out by California’s Senator Dianne Feinstein, the outgoing committee chairwoman. And they have not been kind.

In the Wall Street Journal, the three former CIA directors — George Tenet, Porter Goss, and Michael Hayden — say this:

The Senate Intelligence Committee’s report on Central Intelligence Agency detention and interrogation of terrorists, prepared only by the Democratic majority staff, is a missed opportunity to deliver a serious and balanced study of an important public policy question. The committee has given us instead a one-sided study marred by errors of fact and interpretation—essentially a poorly done and partisan attack on the agency that has done the most to protect America after the 9/11 attacks.

… We can only conclude that the committee members or staff did not want to risk having to deal with data that did not fit their construct. Which is another reason why the study is so flawed. What went on in preparing the report is clear: The staff picked up the signal at the outset that this study was to have a certain outcome, especially with respect to the question of whether the interrogation program produced intelligence that helped stop terrorists. The staff members then “cherry picked” their way through six million pages of documents, ignoring some data and highlighting others, to construct their argument against the program’s effectiveness.Propaganda Alert

In the intelligence profession, that is called politicization.liberals-thanks-saul-alinsky-political-poster-1308396354

The former Senate Democrat is Nebraska’s Bob Kerrey, who said this in the pages of USA Today:

I do not need to read the report to know that the Democratic staff alone wrote it. The Republicans checked out early when they determined that their counterparts started out with the premise that the CIA was guilty and then worked to prove it.

When Congress created the intelligence committees in the 1970’s, the purpose was for people’s representatives to stand above the fray and render balanced judgments about this most sensitive aspect of national security. This committee departed from that high road and slipped into the same partisan mode that marks most of what happens on Capitol Hill these days.Propaganda Alert

And oh yes… last night on Fox former Vice President Dick Cheney called the report “crap.”

So what we have here are six very serious people (seven counting Cheney) who understand the CIA inside and out and what goes on behind the scenes in the Senate Intelligence Committee inside and out. And all have come to the exact same conclusion.

The CIA Directors put it this way:

We can only conclude that the committee members or staff did not want to risk having to deal with data that did not fit their construct.

Former Senator Kerrey put it this way:

I do not need to read the report to know that the Democratic staff alone wrote it. The Republicans checked out early when they determined that their counterparts started out with the premise that the CIA was guilty and then worked to prove it.coservatives deal in facts

In other words? What is being described here is a deliberate effort to make the CIA and by extension the country look as bad as it could possibly look, and they were willing to cook the books to accomplish their objective.

But why? There’s the real question.

In the Jewish world there is a term that should be adapted to America. The “self-hating Jew” is defined (here at the Jewish Virtual Library) this way:

A Jew who expresses self-hatred, according to Kurt Lewin [in Resolving Social Conflicts], “will dislike everything specifically Jewish, for he will see in it that which keeps him away from the majority for which he is longing. He will show dislike for those Jews who are outspokenly so, and will frequently indulge in self-hatred.”

Change the word “Jew” to the word “American” and the description reads this way:

“An American who expresses self-hatred… will dislike everything specifically American, for he will see in it that which keeps him away from the majority for which he is longing. He will show dislike for those Americans who are outspokenly so, and will frequently indulge in self-hatred.”Leftist Marxist

A more exact description of today’s American Left could not be had. “Dislike everything specifically American” extends on a scale of one to ten from the Jonathan Grubers of the world who hold themselves out as so much smarter than their “stupid” fellow Americans all the way to the other end and all those Bill Ayers types who spend their time finding ways to literally blow up the country or this or that part of it. They all feel a dripping contempt for both their countrymen and their country, merely differing on how to express that contempt.

Sometimes that hatred extends to specific, high-profile Americans. All conservatives of course, and Fox and talk radio. But they can’t abide capitalism, Wall Street, the middle class, two-parent heterosexual families of a Mom and Dad. Marriage is a target. Religion certainly, Catholics, Jews, and Evangelical Christians specifically. (Islamic fundamentalism, virulently anti-American, not -so-coincidentally finds favor with the self-haters.) Culturally speaking this would include things like country music or Disney and oh so much more. The contempt expressed by Leftists in various venues for any or all of these things is the epitome of American self-hatred. They hate the country, its people, its history, its culture, and most of all its power.terrorist-cartoon

Anything and everything that spits in the eyes of all of these things and more are made attractive to American self-haters precisely because middle class America may frown on it. Or religious leaders. Or office holders or other authority figures. Legalizing marijuana is not as much about marijuana as it is about the kind of Americans who are in opposition to legalization. If sex is presented in American society as a husband/wife/man/woman relationship than the objective is to go as far in the opposite direction as possible. Gays are, in a real sense, irrelevant to the conversation. The military, like religion, is another target for smirking contempt. Not to mention that ultimate symbol of America — the American flag.

As has been said of the self-hating in the Jewish world, the self-hating American is a “social-psychological phenomenon.” Indeed. In this case that “phenomenon” has targeted the CIA. But the real target is America itself. First, last — and most disturbingly? Always.

Black Pro-Lifers: If “Black Lives Matter,” Why Don’t They Protest Abortion?

by Katie Yoder | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 12/11/14

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.lifenews.com/2014/12/11/black-pro-lifers-if-black-lives-matter-why-dont-they-protest-abortion/

Each and every life matters – but, as the media cry “black lives matter,” they conveniently forget the millions of black babies destroyed in abortion.National death rate percentages

The phrase “Black Lives Matter” surfaced in the news and on social media after a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson for the murder of 18-year-old Michael Brown last month. The mantra continued after a viral video showed Eric Garner’s death after a confrontation with New York police. From the beginning, the media pushed the phrase – while, at the same time, ignored a Nov. 27 CDC report revealing 78 percent of the babies aborted in New York City in 2011 were black and Hispanic.

In correspondence with MRC Culture, pro-life leaders like Dr. Alveda King responded by claiming, “if [the media] really thought that black lives matter they would be protesting abortion on demand.” Former Rep. Allen West called out the “hypocrisy” of the “new leftist progressive soundbite” while The Radiance Foundation’s Ryan Bomberger asked, ““[H]ow sincere is the mantra that #BlackLivesMatter if the violent act of abortion and the disproportionate slaughter of unborn minority children is praised as ‘reproductive justice’?”

The Media Frame ‘Black Lives Matter’

blacklivesmatterDuring the broadcast network news shows, ABC, NBC and CBS reporters either incorporated “black lives matter” themselves or played clips of others using the phrase.

While reporting on the Garner story, CBS correspondent Jim Axelrod told an agreeing protester what was happening: “It’s a very diverse crowd, but a largely white crowd yelling ‘black lives matter!’” during “This Morning” on Dec. 5.  That same day, during “Evening News with Scott Pelley,” CBS showed a Boston crowd chanting “black lives matter!”

The phrase cropped up in CBS’ report of Ferguson too. The day before the CDC released the abortion report, Nov. 27, CBS “This Morning” host Anthony Mason stressed how “The slogan ‘Black lives matter’ is a frequent chant among protesters after the Ferguson shootings.” “It’s a reminder,” he said, “that race relations in America are still a work in progress.”

ABC’s mention came from Ron Claiborne during “World News Tonight” on Dec. 4. Claiborne commented, “New York City’s mayor, speaking about telling his own son, Dante, who is biracial, about what he called the ‘dangers he may face’ from police” after Garner. “This is personal,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in the clip cut by ABC. “People need to know that black lives and brown lives matter as much as white lives.”Liberalism a mental disorder

NBC boasted the most mentions. The first showed New York’s Thanksgiving parade protesters chanting “Black Live Matter!” for the camera in response to Brown on Nov. 28 NBC’s “Today.”

In Ferguson on Nov. 28 – the night of the CDC report’s publication – Ron Allen reported for NBC’s “Nightly News.” He played a clip of a protester urging, “If black lives don’t matter, Black Friday shouldn’t matter.” That same clip played again Nov. 29 on “Today.”Liberalism a mental disorder

Passing on the spotlight, NBC’s “Nightly News” on Dec. 3 featured NAACP Legal Defense Fund Litigation Director Christina Swarns as she declared, “[t]hese are people’s children that are being killed.” She continued:

And you cannot have that happen and have no response. And so it’s really a cry to be heard. There’s a cry to be recognized and understood that their lives, that black lives, matter.

On Dec. 4 with Stephanie Gosk reporting, NBC’s “Today” again played a snippet from a Mayor Bill de Blasio speech, as he said, “Our history sadly requires us to say that black lives matter.”Liberalism a mental disorder

For the same show the next day, co-host Savannah Guthrie asked New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo about Garner. “We were just showing a sign of somebody saying ‘Black lives matter,’” she stressed. She probed:

“[W]hat people in the streets are saying is there’s essentially two justice systems here in this country, there’s one for African-Americans and there’s one for everybody else. Do you agree with that? Is it about race?”Liberalism a mental disorder

Imagine a reporter asking that about abortion.

Pro-Life Leaders Respond to ‘Hypocrisy’

Black lives matter to the media – but not all of them, according to champions of the pro-life movement. Not once did the networks air the news that, in New York City, 77.56% of the abortions in 2011 destroyed black and Hispanic babies.com01

“The liberal media looks the other way on this,” Priests for Life Pastoral Associate and African American Outreach Director Dr. Alveda C. King told MRC Culture.

The niece of civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. urged, “Pray that people will see right through their propaganda.” She continued, “The media has another agenda; if they really thought that black lives matter they would be protesting abortion on demand.”com02

She highlighted how the media “often stirs controversy to boost rating” and “support[s] abortion on demand.” “This media category ignores the fact that the abortion industry targets minorities,” she said.com03

“Even Planned Parenthood tweeted support for Ferguson using the Black Lives Matters hashtags,” she stressed, “and yet they abort more black and Hispanic babies than any other abortion provider in America.”com04

In correspondence with MRC Culture, Former Rep. Allen West also commented on the media’s behavior. “The left and their media accomplices have discovered a new empty slogan but there are those of us who recognize their hypocrisy and the shameful policy of the soft bigotry of low expectations,” he acknowledged.

He called the “black lives matter” motto the “new leftist progressive soundbite.” “But actually,” he emphasized, “only the black lives that serve the progressive socialist agenda matter.”com05

That not only excludes the “millions of little black babies who will never know Dr. King’s dream as a result of abortion” but also the “hundreds of young black men dead from gang violence in the failing inner cities” and the lack of a “quality education via the means of school choice,” he said.

The Radiance Foundation’s Ryan Bomberger (a pro-life advocate conceived in rape) told MRC Culture that, “Mainstream media does everything it can to protect the most racist institution in America that actually kills for a living—the abortion industry.”com06

“#BlackLivesMatter is a potent hashtag, but filled with false accusations and distorted context,” he said, and the “[m]ajor news media would rather foster hatred than healing.”

“There is racial injustice,” he admitted, “but the noise of the victim evangelists obscures the cases, like Eric Garner’s, that truly deserve justice.”

“[H]ow sincere is the mantra that #BlackLivesMatter if the violent act of abortion and the disproportionate slaughter of unborn minority children is praised as ‘reproductive justice”?’ he challenged.

Conservative Comedian Michael Loftus of the show the Flipside is one very funny man. Watch as he takes a not-so-funny subject and lays bare the bankrupt logic of today’s political left. If you’ve ever had that “aha” moment when talking to a liberal, where you realize that what they are saying makes absolutely NO SENSE… this is for you.

What’s in the spending bill? We skim it so you don’t have to

By Ed O’Keefe December 10

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/12/09/whats-in-the-spending-bill-we-skim-it-so-you-dont-have-to/

This item has been updated and revised.

The $1.01 trillion spending bill unveiled late Tuesday will keep most of the federal government funded through next September — and it’s packed with hundreds of policy instructions, known on Capitol Hill as “riders,” that will upset or excite Democrats, Republicans and various special interest groups.

So, what’s in the bill? We’ve sifted through the legislation, consulted supporting documents from Democratic and Republican aides, and called out some of the more notable and controversial elements below. (If you want to review detailed reports on all 12 parts of the spending bill, click here.)

Please note: This is a fluid report that will be updated to add more detail or correct errors. What notable changes did we miss? What notable changes did you spot? Contact us or share details in the comments section below:

ABORTION:

The bill once again bans using federal funding to perform most abortions; blocks the use of local and federal funding for abortions in the District of Columbia; and blocks the use of federal dollars for abortions for federal prisoners. Republicans say that there’s also new language directing the secretary of health and human services to ensure that consumers shopping for health-care coverage on the federal exchange can tell whether a plan covers abortion services.

AFFORDABLE CARE ACT:

The law is still funded, but there’s no new money for it. There’s also no new ACA-related funding for the Internal Revenue Service and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the two agencies most responsible for implementing the law. The bill also would cut the budget of the Independent Payment Advisory Board — what Republicans have called “the death panel” — by $10 million.

AFGHANISTAN:

Congress withholds funding for the Afghan government “until certain conditions are met,” including implementing the bilateral security agreement reached with the United States.

AMTRAK:

The nation’s rail passenger service earns $1.39 billion, the same amount it currently receives. The rail service carries passengers through 46 states and hit an all-time high of 31.6 million passengers during the last fiscal year, according to Democratic aides.

CAMPAIGN FINANCE:

The bill would dramatically expand the amount of money that wealthy political donors could inject into the national parties, drastically undercutting the 2002 landmark McCain-Feingold campaign finance overhaul. Bottom line: A donor who gave the maximum $32,400 this year to the Democratic National Committee or Republican National Committee would be able to donate another $291,600 on top of that to the party’s additional arms — a total of $324,000, ten times the current limit. Read more on this here.

CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL:

The agency would get more than $6.9 billion, an increase of about $42.7 million. The nation’s leading disease-fighters also get $30 million to help fight Ebola (see below).

CLEAN WATER ACT:

In a win for Republicans, the spending bill blocks the Environmental Protection Agency from applying the law to certain farm ponds and irrigation ditches — a move that GOP aides said would benefit farmers.

DODD-FRANK:

Democrats agreed to make some of the biggest changes yet to the 2010 financial regulatory reforms. In a deal sought by Republicans, the bill would reverse Dodd-Frank requirements that banks “push out” some of derivatives trading into separate entities not backed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporations. Ever since being enacted, banks have been pushing to reverse the change. Now, the rules would go back to the way they used to be. But in exchange, Democrats say they secured more money for the enforcement budgets at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Derivative (finance)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In finance, a derivative is a contract that derives its value from the performance of an underlying entity. This underlying entity can be an asset, index, or interest rate, and is often called the “underlying”.[1][2] Derivatives can be used for a number of purposes – including insuring against price movements (hedging), increasing exposure to price movements for speculation or getting access to otherwise hard to trade assets or markets.[3]

Some of the more common derivatives include forwards, futures, options, swaps, and variations of these such as collateralized debt obligations, credit default swaps, and mortgage backed securities. Most derivatives are traded over-the-counter (off-exchange) or on an exchange such as the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, while most insurance contracts have developed into a separate industry. Derivatives are one of the three main categories of financial instruments, the other two being equities (i.e. stocks or shares) and debt (i.e. bonds and mortgages).

EBOLA:

Roughly $5.4 billion is provided across several agencies to combat the spread of the disease in the United States and around the world. The amount is less than the $6 billion Obama requested.

EGYPT:

The beleaguered country gets $1.3 billion in military aid and $150 million in economic aid — but the money is subject to “democracy and human rights conditions,” while the secretary of state can make exceptions for counterterrorism and border security operations. Why

EMBASSIES:

There’s $5.4 billion for security at U.S. embassies worldwide, $46 million more than Obama requested. The total includes new money to implement recommendations from the Benghazi Accountability Review Board. The bill also once again bans any embassy construction money to be spent on the lavish new U.S. embassy in London.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY:

The agency gets $8.1 billion, down $60 million from the last fiscal year. The agency’s budget has been slashed by $2.2 billion, or 21 percent, since fiscal 2010, according to GOP aides. The cuts mean that EPA will have to reduce its staffing to the lowest levels since 1989.

ERIC CANTOR:

Well, kind of. The former House majority leader stunned the political world by losing in a GOP primary last summer. But Congress agreed to provide $12.6 million for his signature legislative achievement — the Gabriella Miller Kids First Act, which authorizes new federally-funded pediatric research. The bill was paid for by slashing federal funding for political conventions.

FEDERAL WORKER PAY (AND CONFERENCES):

The bill allows a 1 percent pay raise ordered by Obama to take effect in January. And the legacy of embarrassing spending scandals at federal agencies persist as Congress once again banned or put limits on certain conferences, official travel and some employee awards.

FOOD SAFETY (AND THE FDA)

There’s $2.589 billion for the Food and Drug Administration, a $37 million increase from last year. There’s $27 million in new funding for the Food Safety Modernization Act. The Food Safety and Inspection Service would receive $1.016 billion, a $5 million increase.

GUANTANAMO BAY:

Once again the Obama administration is banned from transferring terrorism detainees to the United States from the U.S. military facility in Cuba. There’s also a ban on building or buying any facility in the U.S. to house detainees. But the bill allows for the ongoing transfer of detainees to other countries.

HEROIN:

In a modest attempt to address a growing crisis with the illicit drug, lawmakers are adding $7 million for a new anti-heroin task force run out of the Justice Department’s COPS Office. The money will be used as part of a competitive grant program for drug enforcement, including investigations and operations to stop the distribution or sale of the drug, according to Democrats. Why

IMMIGRATION:

The bill only funds the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees most immigration policy, until February. But negotiators gave new money for immigration programs at other federal agencies. There’s $948 million for the Department of Health and Human Service’s unaccompanied children program — an $80 million increase. The program provides health and education services to the young migrants. The department also gets $14 million to help school districts absorbing new immigrant students. And the State Department would get $260 million to assist Central American countries from where of the immigrant children are coming. Why

INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE:

One of the GOP’s favorite targets will see its budget slashed by $345.6 million. The nation’s tax agency also would be banned from targeting organizations seeking tax-exempt status based on their ideological beliefs.

ISRAEL:

There’s $3.1 billion in total aid for the country plus $619.8 million in defense aid.

JOE BIDEN:

The legislation once again enacts a pay freeze for the vice president “and senior political appointees.”

LIBYA:

The troubled country cannot receive any U.S. aid until the secretary of state confirms the country is cooperating with ongoing investigations into the September 2012 attack at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

JORDAN:

The Arab kingdom would receive $1 billion in economic and military aid, in addition to U.S. humanitarian aid for millions of Syrian refugees. Why

LIGHT BULBS:

The bill once again prohibits new standards that would ban the use of cheaper, less energy efficient incandescent bulbs. The proposal was first introduced and set in motion by the Bush administration, but the Obama White House allowed the change to continue, despite sustained consumer demand for older bulbs.

MARIJUANA:

The District of Columbia will be prohibited from legalizing marijuana for the much of the coming year. The development — upending a voter-approved initiative — shocked elected D.C. leaders, advocates for marijuana legalization and civil liberties groups. The bill also would block the Justice Department from interfering with state-level medical marijuana measures and prohibits the Drug Enforcement Agency from interfering with industrial hemp production. Why

METRORAIL:

The D.C. region’s subway and bus system would earn $150 million in federal dollars for continued improvements. That’s part of $10.9 billion set to be doled out for transit programs nationwide, including the construction of new rail and rapid bus projects in California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina and Texas. But Republicans stress that the bill has no new federal funding for high-speed rail projects, especially the ambitious Los Angeles-to-San Francisco routes envisioned by California Democrats.

MILITARY PAY AND PERKS:

Military service members will receive a 1 percent pay increase next year. But there’s a pay freeze for generals and flag officers. The bill also ends a five percent discount on tobacco and tobacco-related products sold at military exchanges.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY:Why

The agreement includes $24 million to complete the federal government’s contribution to the new museum being built on the Mall. The rest of the money will be raised through private donations.

NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH:

The nation’s premier medical research agency would receive $30.3 billion, a $150 million overall increase. Democrats noted that the new funding helps especially for ongoing Alzheimer’s and brain research programs.

OFFICIAL PORTRAITS:

You’re a government official and want an official portrait? You’ll have to pay for it (or raise the funds). The bill bans taxpayer funding for official portraits of any Executive Branch employees, lawmakers and heads of legislative agencies.

OVERSEAS MILITARY OPERATIONS:

There’s $1.3 billion for a new Counterterrorism Partnership Fund; $5 billion for military operations to combat the Islamic State, including $1.6 billion to train Iraqi and Kurdish forces; $500 million for a Pentagon-led program to train and equip vetted Syrian opposition fighters; $810 million for ongoing military operations in Europe, including requirements that at least $175 million is spent in support of Ukraine and Baltic nations.

PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY:

The bill stops assistance to the Palestinian Authority if it becomes a member of the United Nations or UN agencies without an agreement  with Israel. It also prohibits funds for Hamas.

PENSIONS:

For the first time, the benefits of current retirees could be severely cut, part of an effort to save some of the nation’s most distressed pension plans. The change would alter 40 years of federal law and could affect millions of workers, many of them part of a shrinking corps of middle-income employees in businesses such as trucking, construction and supermarkets. Read more on this here.

U.S. POSTAL SERVICE:

You like your mail on Saturdays? You’ll keep your mail on Saturdays. The bill requires the mail service to continue six-day deliveries, despite a years-long attempt to cut back on service to save money.

POTATOES:

White potatoes, to be exact. The Women, Infants and Children program that provides food aid to low-income families would receive $6.6 billion, a $93 million cut from the last fiscal year. But the program will be required to ensure that “all varieties of fresh vegetables, including white potatoes, are eligible for purchase” through the program, said Republicans. The change is a big victory for the potato lobby, which has long fought to be part of the food assistance program.

RACE TO THE TOP:

The bill cuts funding for Obama’s signature education initiative — a big blow to his education legacy, according to The Post’s Valerie Strauss. Overall, the Education Department would take a slight hit in funding; at $70.5 billion, down $133 million below the fiscal year 2014, but special education grants to states would get $25 million more than last year, up to $11.5 billion. There is also no funding for the controversial Common Core State Standards in this legislation.

RAILROADS:

Among other things, there’s $3 million to expand inspections along the roughly 14,000 miles of track used by trains hauling oil tankers.

SAGE-GROUSE:

In a victory for the GOP, the bill would ban the Fish and Wildlife Service from adding the rare bird found in several Western states to the Endangered Species List. Republicans argue that adding the bird to the list “would have severe economic consequences on Western states and the nation’s efforts to become energy independent.” But there’s also $15 million for the Bureau of Land Management to conserve sage-grouse habitats.

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM:

The school lunch nutritional changes sought by First Lady Michelle Obama take a hit. The bill allows more flexibility to school districts to implement new whole grain nutrition standards “if the school can demonstrate a hardship” when buying whole grain products, according to Republicans. The bill also relaxes new sodium standards until they are “supported by additional scientific studies.”

SEXUAL ASSAULT IN THE MILITARY:

There’s $257 million for the Pentagon’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response programs, including $25 million more to expand the Sexual Assault Victims’ Counsel program. But Democrats, led by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), are expected to make a final push to expand the program this week.

TRUCKING:

In a victory for the trucking industry, the bill blocks new Transportation Department regulations requiring truckers to get two nights of sleep before starting a new work week. The regulation slashed a typical trucker’s work week to 70 hours, down from 82 hours.

UNITED NATIONS:

The perennial ban on providing money for the ongoing renovation of U.N. Headquarters in New York remains intact.

U.S. CAPITOL (AND RELATED AGENCIES):

There’s $21 million to continue restoring the cast-iron Capitol Dome. And $348 million for the U.S. Capitol Police (a force with 1,775 officers). Lawmakers also plan to save $10,000 by allowing the congressional Office of Compliance to email congressional staffers about their employment rights. Old rules required the office to send such notices by snail mail. Finally, for the first time the agency formerly known as the Government Printing Office is now officially known as the Government Publishing Office.

VETERANS:

After a year of embarrassing scandals at the sprawling Department of Veterans Affairs, lawmakers are making good on promises to provide more money and oversight. There’s a total of $159.1 billion in discretionary and mandatory spending. Of that, $209 million was added to address new costs related to the bipartisan veterans’ reform bill passed last summer. The legislation calls for adding medical staff and expanding dozens of facilities. In order to specifically addressing the “wait list” scandal, the VA’s inspector general is getting a $5 million budget increase to continue investigating lapses in patient care.

WHISTLEBLOWERS:

The bill includes language ensuring that government contractors are not barred from reporting allegations of waste, fraud or abuse if they sign a confidentiality agreement. And the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would receive a $500,000 increase for its enforcement of existing whistleblower laws.

WHITE HOUSE BUDGET:

There’s $222 million for executive mansion operations, a $10 million increase. The money pays for the National Security and Homeland Security councils, the Council of Economic Advisers, the vice president’s office and the executive residence. The bill doesn’t provide any new funding “to address security weaknesses at the White House complex,” according to Democrats. But the U.S. Secret Service would be allowed to use some of its funding “to prepare and train for the next presidential election campaign,” Democrats said.

WOLVES:

Well, only if you’re attacked. There’s $1 million in the bill “to compensate ranchers for livestock killed by wolves.”Why

YUCCA MOUNTAIN:

There’s no new money for the site, but current money for it must be spent pursuant to a recent court decision. Republicans say that the bill continues to leave open the possibility that the site could be used someday to store nuclear waste — but that won’t happen as long as Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) is around.

America awakens: New poll finds majority thinks Obama has overstepped his powers

Written by Allen West on December 11, 2014

King-ObamaAs you all recall, back in 2008 then-Senator Obama stated “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States” — and the crowd cheered. My, what a difference six years makes, but better late than never.

There have been far too many lies, deceptions, scandals, and actions contrary to our established rule of law. There have been countless instances of “prosecutorial discretion” to explain the selective enforcement of laws, which are not in concert with the ideology of President Obama.

And finally Americans are concerned.

As reported by Fox News, “Majorities of American voters think President Barack Obama exceeded his authority with recent executive actions on immigration — and are worried he may be permanently altering the system of checks and balances established by the Constitution.”

kingobamafingerconstitution-300x204
Imperial President Obama’s Distain for our Constitution as he “flips-off” America and our Constitution

“That’s according to a new Fox News poll released Wednesday. By an 8-point margin, more voters disapprove (51 percent) than approve (43 percent) of the specific policy changes Obama made that will, among other things, allow millions of illegal immigrants to remain temporarily in the United States to work. Meanwhile, nearly three quarters think this easing of immigration laws will encourage more people to enter the country illegally (74 percent). That includes 50 percent who believe Obama’s actions are “very likely” to result in more people illegally entering the U.S. Even more voters are unhappy with how Obama made these changes. By a 60-38 percent margin, voters disapprove of the president bypassing Congress to change how the government deals with illegal immigration.”Imperial President Obama

The Fox News poll was based on landline and cell phone interviews with 1,043 randomly chosen registered voters nationwide and was conducted under the joint direction of Democrat and Republican-leaning polling companies and included additional interviews (an oversample) of Hispanics. You can see the full results here.

While some subscribe to the Gwyneth Paltrow school of constitutional governance — just let the president do what he wants – most of this country is disturbed when it comes to a reckless and lawless executive branch. It actually has less to do with Obama but rather a future precedent being established.

This is a Republic with a representative democracy and the enumerated powers vested in the executive branch are minimal — almost non-existent. Based on the writings of Montesquieu in his work “The Spirit of the Laws” — our Constitution’s architect, James Madison, weaved into the fabric of our three coequal branches of government and a system of checks and balances to ensure that one did not overrun another. And of course coming from under a monarchial system, restraints a were placed on the executive to ensure the focus was on governing — not ruling.Executive orders

Apparently Americans are waking up to the difference. The consent of the governed was evidenced this past midterm election — albeit an almost defiant and dismissive President Obama claimed to hear the two-thirds of Americans who did not vote.

“According to the survey, a 54-percent majority thinks Obama “exceeded his authority” under the Constitution by making the immigration changes unilaterally, while 38 percent say he “acted within his authority.” The poll goes on to ask what such actions mean for the country in the long term and finds more than two-thirds — 68 percent of voters — are concerned Obama’s use of executive orders and unilateral actions may be “permanently altering” our country’s system of checks and balances. That includes 42 percent of Democrats, 72 percent of independents and 93 percent of Republicans.” Obama tearing up the constitution

It must be alarming — I would think it is — to the Obama administration that 42 percent of Democrats are now concerned about the “fundamental transformation” when it comes to our vaunted system of checks and balances. Even more so, in the arena of politics, the subsequent Democrat candidates for president have to be worried about such poll results. How will they maneuver the dangerous waters of distancing themselves from the rejected policies and actions of Barack Obama?

However, Hispanic voters, who are almost twice as likely as white voters to approve of the recent changes Obama made on immigration (66 percent vs. 34 percent), like how the president went about making the changes as well. Fifty-six percent of Hispanics approve of Obama bypassing Congress compared to 29 percent of whites. Even so, views among Hispanics are about evenly divided over Obama’s authority under the Constitution: 48 percent say he acted within his authority, while 44 percent say he exceeded it. By two-to-one, white voters say Obama exceeded his authority under the Constitution (62 percent-31 percent).Liberalism a mental disorder

So have the progressive socialists achieved the goal of politics based on collective grouping enabling them to prosecute their agenda? Could be. If we get beyond the point where we seek the best policies to advance the growth, opportunity, and promise of Americans and that which we call the American Dream — will our Republic stand the test of time?Partyof Deceit Spin and Lies

Sure, we want others to enjoy the blessings of liberty, but knock on the front door and abide by our rule of law. But if we have a president who doesn’t embrace the rule of law and seeks means by which he can circumvent our republican system (yes, that’s how its described since we are a Constitutional Republic), then what will our future be?

E Pluribus Unim is Latin for “Out of Many One.” Let us endeavor to prevent these great United States from being divided into collective groups resulting in the demise of our unity as Americans — the one.

A government that promises you everything can eventually take it away — and history proves it will. The greatest power is the individual and that essence of liberty. I believe we are seeing a resurgence in America, and are witnessing an awakening. We just need courageous, principled leaders and policies to restore our Republic, recommit to our fundamental constitutional values and principles, and reclaim the sense of American exceptionalism and pride.

All is not lost. Molon Labe!

Growing Public Support for Gun Rights

More Say Guns Do More to Protect Than Put People at Riskpewheader

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.people-press.org/2014/12/10/growing-public-support-for-gun-rights/

Survey Report

Two Years After Newtown, A Shift in Favor of Gun RightsFor the first time in more than two decades of Pew Research Center surveys, there is more support for gun rights than gun control. Currently, 52% say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns, while 46% say it is more important to control gun ownership.

Support for gun rights has edged up from earlier this year, and marks a substantial shift in attitudes since shortly after the Newtown school shootings, which occurred two years ago this Sunday.

The balance of opinion favored gun control in the immediate aftermath of the Newtown tragedy in December 2012, and again a month later. Since January 2013, support for gun rights has increased seven percentage points – from 45% to 52% — while the share prioritizing gun control has fallen five points (from 51% to 46%).

Increasing Number Say Gun Ownership Protects People From CrimeThe latest national survey by the Pew Research Center, conducted Dec. 3-7 among 1,507 adults, also finds a shift in attitudes about whether gun ownership in this country does more to protect people or put people’s safety at risk. Nearly six-in-ten Americans (57%) say gun ownership does more to protect people from becoming victims of crime, while 38% say it does more to endanger personal safety. In the days after Newtown, 48% said guns do more to protect people and 37% said they placed people at risk.

More Conservative Republicans, African Americans Say Gun Ownership Protects People From CrimeOver the past two years, blacks’ views on this measure have changed dramatically. Currently, 54% of blacks say gun ownership does more to protect people than endanger personal safety, nearly double the percentage saying this in December 2012 (29%). By contrast, whites’ views have shown less change: 62% now view guns as doing more to protect people, up from 54% in December.

Partisan differences on this question, already sizeable in 2012, have widened over the last two years. As was the case in December 2012, a majority of Democrats (60%) say guns do more to put people’s safety at risk, while only about a third (35%) say they do more to protect people from becoming crime victims. By contrast, eight-in-ten Republicans say guns do more to protect people from becoming crime victims, up 17-points from 2012.

Broad Increase in Support for Gun RightsAcross many demographic and political groups, opinion has moved in the direction of greater support for gun rights since January 2013, though the overall differences between demographic groups are largely unchanged.

Today, about six-in-ten whites (61%) prioritize gun rights over gun control. By contrast, only about a third of blacks say this (34%) while six-in-ten (60%) say it is more important to control gun ownership. And Hispanics prioritize gun control over gun rights by a wide 71% to 25% margin.

Among those who have not attended college, 53% say it is more important to protect gun rights. Those with graduate degrees continue to support controlling gun ownership at higher levels than those in other groups.

As in the past, Republicans support protecting gun rights over controlling gun ownership by a substantial margin (76% to 22%), and support for protecting gun rights is particularly high among conservative Republicans (83%).

Conversely, a majority of Democrats say that it is more important to control gun ownership (69%) than to protect the right of Americans to own guns (28%). Liberal Democrats, in particular, prioritize controlling gun ownership (81% say this, while just 14% say protecting gun rights is more important).

About the Survey

The analysis in this report is based on telephone interviews conducted December 3-7, 2014 among a national sample of 1,507 adults, 18 years of age or older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia (605 respondents were interviewed on a landline telephone, and 902 were interviewed on a cell phone, including 513 who had no landline telephone). The survey was conducted by interviewers at Princeton Data Source under the direction of Princeton Survey Research Associates International. A combination of landline and cell phone random digit dial samples were used; both samples were provided by Survey Sampling International. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish. Respondents in the landline sample were selected by randomly asking for the youngest adult male or female who is now at home. Interviews in the cell sample were conducted with the person who answered the phone, if that person was an adult 18 years of age or older. For detailed information about our survey methodology, see http://people-press.org/methodology/

The combined landline and cell phone sample are weighted using an iterative technique that matches gender, age, education, race, Hispanic origin and nativity and region to parameters from the 2012 Census Bureau’s American Community Survey and population density to parameters from the Decennial Census. The sample also is weighted to match current patterns of telephone status (landline only, cell phone only, or both landline and cell phone), based on extrapolations from the 2013 National Health Interview Survey. The weighting procedure also accounts for the fact that respondents with both landline and cell phones have a greater probability of being included in the combined sample and adjusts for household size among respondents with a landline phone. Sampling errors and statistical tests of significance take into account the effect of weighting.

The following table shows the unweighted sample sizes and the error attributable to sampling that would be expected at the 95% level of confidence for different groups in the survey:

12-10-14 Guns release About the Survey

Sample sizes and sampling errors for other subgroups are available upon request.

In addition to sampling error, one should bear in mind that question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of opinion polls.

Obama’s immigration taunt: Next president won’t dare reverse my executive action

The next president won’t dare take the political risk that would come with undoing recent executive action on immigration reform, a defiant President Obama said Tuesday as he predicted his highly controversial steps will survive the test of time, even under a Republican administration.

Mr. Obama conceded that without new legislation, his action — which includes de facto amnesty for more than 4 million illegal immigrants — technically could be undone rather easily. But in practical terms, the president said his successor will be unable to roll back his executive moves because doing so would carry grave political consequences. His comments underscore the White House’s belief that the executive action, while lacking the heft of actual law, still can permanently transform the way America deals with illegal immigration.

“It’s true a future administration might try to reverse some of our policies. But I’ll be honest with you — the American people basically have a good heart and want to treat people fairly and every survey shows that if, in fact, somebody has come out and subjected themselves to a background check, registered, paid their taxes, the American people support allowing them to stay. So any future administration that tried to punish people for doing the right thing, I think, would not have the support of the American people,” Mr. Obama told a supportive crowd at a town hall meeting in Nashville. “It’s true, theoretically, a future administration could do something that I think would be very damaging. It’s not likely, politically, that they reverse everything we’ve done.”Imperial President Obama

Mr. Obama’s confident declaration comes amid a growing backlash in Washington and across the country after last month’s long-awaited executive action.

kingobamafingerconstitution-300x204
ME the President

While blaming congressional Republicans for blocking a comprehensive immigration reform bill, the president granted amnesty to more than 4 million illegal immigrants, freeing them from the threat of deportation and allowing them to legally compete for jobs.

GOP lawmakers have vowed to fight the action in court, as have at least 18 states, which already have sued the president over the issue.

Republican lawmakers argue Mr. Obama’s action puts law-abiding Americans at a significant disadvantage at a time when the economy remains fragile.

“More than 200,000 Tennesseans remain out of work, but rather than prioritize their plight, the president is putting the interests of those who have broken our laws ahead of them. Why should unemployed Tennesseans have to compete with illegal immigrants for jobs? And why should those who break our laws to come here be rewarded while so many wait to come here legally? This is wrong and the President does not have the authority to change our immigration laws without Congress,” said Rep. Diane Black, Tennessee Republican. “The Obama Presidency has been a disaster and can’t end soon enough. But in the meantime, I will work with my colleagues in Congress to fight the President’s unconstitutional power grab.”

But the president pushed back against that criticism, too, charging that Ms. Black and others who claim illegal immigrants will put American citizens out of a job have already been proven wrong by history.

“I understand those concerns, but as I said, they’re not new. We’ve had these concerns since the Irish and Italians and Poles were coming to Boston and New York,” he said. “But what our history and the facts show is, generation after generation, immigrants have been a net plus to our economy and a net plus to our society.”com02

Mr. Obama went on to cast himself as something of a moderate on immigration reform, saying that, behind the scenes, he’s fought against those who believe the U.S.-Mexico border should be erased entirely.

“There have been times, honestly, I’ve had arguments with immigration rights activists who say, effectively, ‘There shouldn’t be any rules. These are good people. Why should we have any enforcement like this?’ My response is, ‘In the eyes of God, everybody is equal … I don’t make any claims my child is superior to anybody else’s child. But I’m the president of the United States, and nation states have borders,’” the president said. “If we had no system of enforcing our borders and our laws, I promise you, everybody would try to come here.”Liberalism a mental disorderBlog wishes

TICKING TIME BOMB: ‘Moderate’ Muslims In The US Military

Written by Audrey Russo on December 10, 2014

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://clashdaily.com/2014/12/ticking-time-bomb-moderate-muslims-us-military/

muslim militaryWe live in a time when not every family has someone serving OR knows someone serving in our Armed Forces. So, it’s reasonable that there are many who do not know what the purpose is of the US Military. Here is the current oath of enlistment:

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Boiling it down, our Military takes an oath to protect and defend the US Constitution against ALL enemies foreign and domestic…and this is where their allegiance rests.

Hence lies the rub with Islam…

What most in the West may not realize is that Islam is NOT a religion like Christianity and Judaism. Islam is a complete totalitarian system cloaked (or burqaed) in religion…which provides for its easy prayer rug ride into any Western culture…

In Islam, the state is intended to be inseparable from religious rule. Islamic law, or Sharia, is complete and not designed to coexist with or be subordinate to any other legal system. Qur’an (18:26) – “[Allah] maketh none to share in his government.”against America

So, what do we make of so-called moderate Muslims? Those who purport the peaceful, pre-Medina verses of the Quran (the verses written before Jews and Christians rejected Muhammed as a prophet) comprise between 0.5% – 1.0% of our US Military. Of this tiny sector, there is a disproportionate number of “moderates” who suddenly became devout, namely:

  • Hasan Akbar (aka Mark Fidel Kools) who turned on his fellow soldiers, killing two and wounding 15. (2003)

  • Hasan Nidal, who murdered 14 (including an unborn baby) and wounding 30 at a Fort Hood (yelling “Allahu Akbar”). (2009)

  • Naser Jason Abdo, near Fort Hood, arrested with an unregistered firearm and allegedly planning to attack a restaurant frequented by soldiers from the base. (2011)ISIS Beraking the American Cross

Not an encouraging snapshot of those who were formerly considered “moderate” Muslim, now devout (radical). And that’s not to mention those Muslim civilians working for the Defense Dept. The recent example is that of Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va. He was arrested for giving an FBI undercover agent, posing as an Egyptian intelligence officer, secret documents about the new Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier while discussing how to sink the vessel with a missile. The Ford is being built in Virginia for delivery to the Navy in 2016.Confused

A devout Muslim’s allegiance to Islam is utmost and imperative. This should be unequivocal proof that even “moderate” Muslims are unfit for US Military duty.

Unfit, if the mission is still to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”. They should be considered a ticking time-bomb that needs to be deactivated.supporters-of-Pakistans-Muslim-League-burn-a-representation-of-the-US-flag-during-an-anti-American-demonstration-in-Multan-Pakistan_-The-White-House-has-n

Obama mangles Bible verses, uses Mary and Joseph finding ‘no room at the inn’ as illegal immigration analogy!

December 10, 2014 by

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.bizpacreview.com/2014/12/10/obama-mangles-bible-verses-uses-mary-and-joseph-finding-no-room-at-the-inn-as-illegal-immigration-analogy-164244#ixzz3LXKQBODy

Determined to use the Christmas story and a “good book” reference to sell his executive action on immigration, President Obama managed to skew one and screw up the other during a town hall speech in in Nashville Tuesday.

And Twitter users pounced.

At one point, Obama tried to use the story of Mary and Joseph finding “no room at the inn” as an analogy for illegal immigrants, according to Breitbart.

But it didn’t take long to point out the flaw there.t01

Actually, they were the very opposite of illegal aliens. According to the story in Luke, they were traveling to Bethlehem, in their native land, because of a law, not in spite of one. The president also seems to think the old adage about “people who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones” comes from the Bible too.  t02

He’s not wrong. Glass houses are pretty rare in the 21st century. There were zero back then.  t03

Christian Foundations of America

On September 6, 1620, a group of courageous pilgrims set sail in the Mayflower from Plymouth, England, bound for the New World with the primary purpose of establishing a colony where they could freely practice their religious beliefs. They anchored in Provincetown Harbor of Cape Cod on November 21, 1620, and after exploring the cape, they settled on the coast at Plymouth (in present-day Massachusetts).1 On the day they anchored, they wrote and signed a compact declaring their purpose and how their civil government would function. The modernized text of the main body of the 1620 Mayflower Compact reads as follows:

Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine our selves together into a civil body politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.2

Mayflower Compact
The Mayflower Compact was the first governing document of Plymouth Colony. It was drafted by the Pilgrims who crossed the Atlantic aboard the Mayflower, seeking religious freedom. It was signed on November 11, 1620 (OS) in what is now Provincetown Harbor near Cape Cod. Image courtesy of Wikimedia Commons, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mayflowercomp.jpg.

It was clear from the Compact that their faith played an extremely important part of their lives, and that they desired to establish and spread the Christian faith in their new homeland. The Pilgrims recognized that they needed to occasionally set aside days for commemorating the Providence of God. In 1668, the Plymouth Colony Court decreed the following:

Taking notice of the goodness of God to us in the continuance of our civil and religious liberties, the general health that we have enjoyed, and that it has pleased God in some comfortable measure to bless us in the fruits of the earth . . . do propose unto the several congregations of this government, that the 25th day of November next, which will be the fourth day of the week, to be kept as a solemn day of thanksgiving.3

It is evident that Christianity significantly influenced every aspect of colonial life and was at the heart of many of the laws which were to govern colonial and later American society. The Charter of Rhode Island in 1663 makes this point clear as seen in this excerpt:

And whereas, in their humble address, they have freely declared, that it is much on their hearts (if they may be permitted) to hold forth a lively experiment, that a most flourishing civil state may stand and best be maintained, and that among our English subjects, with a full liberty in religious concernments and that true piety rightly grounded upon gospel principles, will give the best and greatest security to sovereignty, and will lay in the hearts of men the strongest obligations to true loyalty. Now, know ye, that we, being willing to encourage the hopeful undertaking of our said loyal and loving subjects, and to secure them in the free exercise and enjoyment of all their civil and religious rights, appertaining to them, as our loving subjects and to preserve unto them that liberty, in the true Christian faith and worship of God, which they have sought with so much travail, and with peaceable minds, and loyal subjection to our royal progenitors and ourselves, to enjoy.4

These early Pilgrims and American colonists plainly stated that Christianity was good for ordering the civic structure, maintaining equitable law, preserving civil and religious liberties, and beneficial (indeed foundational) for public morality. Far from compartmentalizing society into secular duties and religious responsibilities, the Pilgrims and other early colonists recognized that for a government of any kind (colony, state, or federal) to function properly and flourish, there needed to be a Christian moral backbone to the laws which regulated society. These colonial founders recognized that it was the Christian morality behind the laws, not the laws themselves, which would order and preserve society.

For example the 1778 South Carolina State Constitution in Article 38 declares the following:

1st. That there is one eternal God, and a future state of rewards and punishments.

2d. That God is publicly to be worshipped.

3d. That the Christian religion is the true religion

4th. That the holy scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are of divine inspiration, and are the rule of faith and practice.

5th. That it is lawful and the duty of every man being thereunto called by those that govern, to bear witness to the truth.5

Christianity played a vital role in everyday life and the political direction of the Colonies and the early United States. These brief quotes of documents instrumental to the founding of America are just a few of the many on record. They plainly testify that America was founded on Christian principles—not just some vague Deism—and indeed Christianity played a vital role in everyday life and the political direction of the Colonies and the early United States.

But we now live in an American society which is suppressing the name of God in any public arena, removing the 10 cp 07Commandments from courthouses, forcing the removal of nativity scenes from public places (and even lawsuits brought against privately-owned nativity scenes), and even trying to suppress what Christian ministers can say in the pulpits of their own churches. This is not the freedom of religion that is talked about in every state’s constitution and the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution. Prohibition of religious worship in private and public settings would have been the furthest thing from the minds of the Pilgrims and other early colonists. Indeed, the First Amendment to the US Constitution was patterned after the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776 section 16:

That religion, or the duty which we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be directed only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence; and therefore all men are equally entitled to the free exercise of religion, according to the dictates of conscience; and that it is the mutual duty of all to practise Christian forbearance, love, and charity toward each other.6

It is ironic that in the name of tolerance and equity, we have not only moved away from what the founders of this country intended, but we have completely turned 180 degrees. As we have detailed in recent blog posts and articles, the US government is now trying to force ministers to violate their Christian convictions and conscience and make them perform homosexual marriages, hire people who may be opposed to and even hostile to their religion, and provide abortifacients to employees against the dictates of their faith. These actions directly violate the letter and intent of the First Amendment. Buttressed by revisionist history, modern America has reinterpreted the Christian foundation upon which this country was built.whorshipping the US government

An Interrogator Breaks His Silence

What follows is the document written by Jason Beale — a pseudonym for a longtime U.S. military and intelligence interrogator with extensive knowledge of the enhanced interrogation techniques used by the CIA on some high-value detainees. Those techniques are scrutinized a forthcoming report, scheduled to be released today, prepared by the Democratic staff of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Beale would not confirm to THE WEEKLY STANDARD that he worked in that program, but others with knowledge of the program and its personnel tell TWS that he served as a senior interrogator beginning in 2004.

Beale tells TWS that his document was reviewed, redacted, and cleared by a U.S. government agency. A CIA spokesman would not confirm that the CIA was the agency in question. Beale says he made minor edits for grammar and flow after the document was cleared.com01

Sharpton: Blacks Can’t Act Decently Without More Government Payouts

by 8 Dec 2014

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/12/08/Sharpton-blacks

On Sunday, Al Sharpton appeared on NBC’s Meet The Press to fulfill his weekend race-baiting quota, discussing the grand jury results in the cases of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. After Chuck Todd asked Sharpton about addressing the problem of “economic hopelessness” in the black community – Garner was arrested for selling “loosies,” cigarettes outside the pack, illegally – Sharpton explained that he supported a “jobs bill…infrastructure development.”com04

Then he continued by explaining that if Congress didn’t pass such bills, black men could not be held responsible for taking care of their children: You can’t kill a jobs bill and infrastructure and then tell men to take care of their families. You can’t have it both ways.Liberalism a mental disorder

Actually, you can. It turns out that taking care of your family is a basic facet of being a decent human being. But this sort of moral blackmail the notion that black men cannot be expected to obey the dictates of fundamental morality without government support — has become commonplace among members of the left. Darlena Cunha, author of “Ferguson: In Defense of Rioting,” appeared on my show, The Ben Shapiro Show on KTTH 770 in Seattle, where she explained:

We’re talking about decades and generations worth of people who have been downtrodden. Mom and dad don’t have the opportunities to stay together, to work….They are burdened in different ways because people are leaving them behind because we think we’ve solved racism. At least when they were segregated they had a community….We need to start teaching them how to work every day, how to get along in a work environment, and how to act in a business society…com05

When I asked Cunha why we couldn’t encourage people to simply not have children before marriage, graduate high school, and get a job, she answered:

I don’t think you can encourage people not to have children before they get married and to get a job and to graduate high school when they’re dealing with issues that we don’t have to deal with….We need to help them have personal responsibility. They can’t do it when they’re busy trying to eat.

In other words, give people money, or they will abandon their children, drop out of school, and refuse to get a job – even, as Cunha defends, burn down the property of their fellow citizens and attack police officers.

That’s racial blackmail.

It’s also nothing new. In his book, The Future Once Happened Here, Fred Siegel of the Manhattan Institute writes of the 1960s “riot ideology,” the belief on the left that in the aftermath of race riots, “more money for the cities was essential – if not to halt riots, then to contain the still rising racial anger, which expressed itself in rising rates of often violent crime.” That is why, for example, President Lyndon Johnson’s attorney general, Nicholas Katzenbach, “warned of riots in ‘thirty or forty’ more cities if the Model Cities legislation providing funds for community renewal projects wasn’t passed quickly.”com06

The threat of riots became the hallmark of black governance in major cities like Washington, D.C., where the now-sainted recently-deceased Marion Barry held sway. “I know for a fact that white people get scared of the [Black] Panthers,” he once said, “and they might give money to somebody a little more moderate.” Barry helped take advantage of 1968 riots in D.C.; following those riots, Siegel reports, “Barry received at least $3.8 million in additional federal, largely Labor Department, grants to expand PRIDE.” Barry would go on to pledge “war on the police department and the city,” which he would then enact after becoming mayor.

In New York, Mayor John Lindsay, a titular Republican, gave way to the same sort of race-baiting. Lindsay attempted actively to enroll people in welfare and hire them to useless government jobs, all in the name of avoiding violence. One of Lindsay’s aides explained, “Our experience is that some good can come of confrontation politics.” The good, of course, was expanded government services. In one incident, a mother shouted at Lindsay, “I’ve got six kids, and each one of them has a different daddy. It’s my job to have kids, and your job, Mr. Mayor, to take care of them.”com07

Liberalism a mental disorder

This ideology destroyed two of the greatest cities in America. It has similarly destroyed Detroit, where riots in the late 1960s did not spring from poverty – Detroit’s rioters were 83 percent employed – but from racial rage. Mayor Coleman Young ripped the “suburbs” – code for “whites” – and drove all the white taxpayers out of the city in the name of racial justice.

Today, as then, that ideology is now federal policy. The Department of Justice Community Relations Service has now descended on Ferguson, Missouri, where instead of insisting on law and order, the DOJ tells residents about “the issues of white privilege and racism.” The President of the United States is in on the act, telling BET on Sunday, “This is something that is deeply rooted in our society, it’s deeply rooted in our history.” His attorney general, Eric Holder, is set to announce DOJ policies on racial profiling today, even though there is no evidence that either Michael Brown or Eric Garner was racially profiled.racismjacksonsharptonobamaracebaiterssettingamericaback

The next step, of course, is to make the connection Sharpton makes – to connect “income inequality” with racial unrest. Then the circuit will be complete, and we will have come full circle back to the politics of the late 1960s – the politics that destroyed America’s greatest cities and laid the groundwork for the destruction of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of racial equality through decency.

Lawmakers: It's OK to say Merry Christmas now
State lawmakers want to remind you that a bill passed last year makes it OK to stay Merry Christmas in schools

AUSTIN, TX (KTRK) — Texas lawmakers are reminding people it’s OK to say Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah in school now. Last year, the Merry Christmas bill was signed into law. It allows people to celebrate religious holidays on campus.

“That allows parents, teachers, students and school administrators to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah in public schools without fear of censorship, litigation or persecution,” said Representative Dwayne Bohac, who co-authored the bill with State Rep Richard Raymond.

Religious scenes and symbols can now also be displayed on school property.

Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber: Abortion of ‘Marginal Children’ a ‘Social Good’

Gruber-AbortionGruber’s abortion advocacy is of a particularly pungent eugenics variety. He’s on record repeatedly making the case from social science that abortion is a “social good”…

Embattled MIT professor Jonathan Gruber has not only gotten in trouble for bragging about helping President Obama put one over on the American people with Obamacare, he’s also been uncovered as an abortion advocate—but not a run-of-the-mill advocate of “women’s rights.”

No, Gruber’s abortion advocacy is of a particularly pungent eugenics variety. He’s on record repeatedly making the case from social science that abortion is a “social good” because it reduces the number of “marginal children,” by which he means urban poor—those he says can be counted on to commit crimes if they were ever born.com01

Gruber co-authored a paper during the Clinton years which argued that legal abortion had saved the U.S. taxpayer upwards of $14 billion in welfare benefits and that it also lowered crime.com02

Gruber’s work heavily influenced other researchers, including a paper called The Impact of Legalized Abortion by Steven Levitt of the University of Chicago, whose later book Freakonomics and whose ongoing work makes the strongest case that abortion legalizations in the 1970s caused a dramatic drop in crime twenty years later.

Pro-lifers have always wondered why the black community has not responded more aggressively to the fact that so many abortion clinics are located in poor neighborhoods and why the black abortion rate is so much higher than whites.

A documentary called Maafa 21 argues that abortion is a part of what they called a “black genocide.”com03

African-American marketing expert Ryan Scott Bomberger founded an organization called The Radiance Foundation that makes commercials for the unborn child with a special emphasis on the high incidence of black abortion. Emmy-wining Bomberger’s toomanyaborted.com campaign looks specifically at black abortion. One meme calls abortion a “civil wrong” and that blacks are “still not free at last” because of abortion. Bomberger is being sued by the NAACP for calling the group “pro-abortion.”

A group called 41 Percent tracks all abortions in New York City, which has an abortion rate at twice the national average, points out that the abortion rate in the largely black borough of The Bronx is an astounding 47%.

These are the types of communities Gruber meant when he referred the “marginal children” who were the most likely to end up on welfare and committing crimes if they were allowed to be born.

Labor Force Participation Remains at 36-Year Low

(CNSNews.com) – The labor force participation rate remained at a 36-year low of 62.8 percent in November, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The participation rate, which is the percentage of the civilian noninstitutional population who participated in the labor force by either having a job during the month or actively seeking one, was 62.8 percent in November which matches the percentage since March 1978.

In November, according to BLS, the nation’s civilian noninstitutional population, consisting of all people 16 or older who were not in the military or an institution, reached 248,844,000. Of those, 156,397,000 participated in the labor force by either holding a job or actively seeking one.

The 156,397,000 who participated in the labor force was 62.8 percent of the 248,844,000 civilian noninsttutional population, which matches the 62.8 percent rate in April, May, June, August and October of 2014 as well as the participation rate in March of 1978. The participation rate hit its lowest level of 62.7 percent in September 2014.

Another 92,447,000 people did not participate in the labor force. These Americans did not have a job and were not actively trying to find one. When President Obama took office in January 2009, there were 80,529,000 Americans who were not participating in the office, which means that since then, 11,918,000 Americans have left the workforce.

Cloward Pevin with explanationOf the 156,397,000 who did participate in the labor force, 147,287,000 had a job, and 9,110,000 did not have a job but were actively seeking one -– making them the nation’s unemployed.

The 9,110,000 job seekers were 5.8 percent of the 156,397,000 Americans actively participating in the labor force during the month of November. Thus, the unemployment rate was 5.8 percent, the same as it was in October.

Jonathan Gruber apologizes to Congress for ‘inexcusable’ political comments about Obamacare

MIT economist Jonathan Gruber listens on Capitol Hill in Washington, Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, as he testified before the House Oversight Committee health care hearing. Congressional Democrats charged Tuesday that Republicans are seizing on a health adviser’s self-described “thoughtless” and … more >

Gruber-Head-NRD-600-w-logoJonathan Gruber, the man whose clumsy remarks sparked the latest Obamacare headache for the White House, apologized to Congress for “glib, thoughtless and sometimes downright insulting” observations about the stupidity of the American voters and how the health overhaul passed, testifying Tuesday he shouldn’t have forayed into politics in his academic speeches.

Mr. Gruber said his caught-on-tape comments should not reflect poorly on President Obama’s signature achievement, which is under threat in the courts and from Republican opponents set to take full control of Congress.

“It’s never appropriate to try to make oneself seem more important or smarter by demeaning others. I knew better. I know better. I’m embarrassed, and I’m sorry,” Mr. Gruber, an economics professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, told the House oversight committee.

The economist downplayed his role in the formation of the Affordable Care Act, saying he provided microsimulation models to describe the reforms’ impacts and was not the law’s “architect.”Complete Message

Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, California Republican, and his fellow Republicans were not deterred by his attempts to dampen the scandal, saying his remarks were not mistakes, but rather an inadvertent look at health law’s harsh truths.

For four hours, they highlighted the economist’s penchant for braggadocio and threatened to subpoena records to find out how much he was paid to help the Obama administration.

The panel’s top Democrat, meanwhile, scolded him for gifting the GOP another weapon in their fight against Obamacare.

“Man, you did a great job. You wrapped it up with a bow,” said Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland.The-Suicide-King

He also chided Republicans for failing to offer a comprehensive solution to Obamacare, and failing to acknowledge that their 2012 nominee for president, Mitt Romney, worked with Mr. Gruber to pass health reforms that paved the way for Mr. Obama’s national vision.

Undeterred, Mr. Issa used large TV screens to play Mr. Gruber’s remarks. In one, the economist said the law was scored in a “tortured” way to game budget rules and obscure its impact from the American public.

Obamcare’s opponents have held up Mr. Gruber’s comments as exhibit “A” in what’s wrong with Obamacare and how Democratic majorities muscled it through Congress in 2010.Hazardous

The comments were a setback for the Obama administration, which had been trying to move on from a botched rollout last year and outrage over health-plan cancellations despite Mr. Obama’s pledge that Americans could keep their coverage.

Tuesday’s lengthy hearing did not turn into the gloves-off sparring match that many anticipated, although it did have its awkward moments.

At one point, Mr. Issa asked Mr. Gruber: “Are you stupid?”

“I don’t think so, no,” Mr. Gruber replied.1

His testimony overshadowed that of an actual government official, Marilyn Tavenner, administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), who testified it was “regrettable” that her agency included 400,000 dental plans with the enrollment figures it reported to the committee earlier this fall.

When the dental plans were excluded, Obamacare enrollment fell to 6.7 million in the first go-around, or less than the 7 million target the Congressional Budget Office had estimated.Got-Your-Back

Mr. Issa, who denied Mrs. Tavenner’s request to testify apart from Mr. Gruber, said it took a staffer 20 minutes to find the error.

“Simply put, this was a mistake,” Mrs. Tavenner said, vowing it would not happen again.

Mr. Gruber made a clarification of his own, regarding the context of taped remarks in which he seems to suggest Obamacare subsidies should only flow to state-run exchanges.

A lawsuit before the Supreme Court makes that same argument and could seriously dent the health care law by cutting off the tax credits to about two-thirds of the states, which use the federally run exchange.FrankenG-600-LI

Mr. Gruber said he was speaking hypothetically about what would happen if the Obama administration, “for whatever reason, might not create a federal exchange.” If that happened, the only way states could be sure that their residents would get tax credits would be to set up their own exchanges, he told the committee.

The TV show What Would You Do has produced an episode of a pregnant women being forced by her boyfriend to have an abortion.

The show uses actors to portray real life circumstances to see how the public would react.

WWYD couple

The interchange occurs inside a restaurant geared for the patrons to overhear the argument to catch their reactions on camera.

In the scenario, the pregnant actor tells her pretend boyfriend she is pregnant.

He gets irritated, accuses her of sleeping around and tells her she has to have an abortion, “You’re ending this pregnancy or I’m ending this relationship,” he insists.

whatwouldyoudo

As she sticks to her decision to not have an abortion, the actor playing her boyfriend abandons her in the restaurant and storms out.

WWYD Girls abortion

A table of girls seated by the couple offers the crying pregnant teen a ride home telling her, “He’s not worth it….you should keep the baby.”

As they reset and do the act again, the patrons appear uncomfortable, “How’d you want me to responds yeah, I’m a daddy now?” the young man says loudly, “You wanna keep this baby? I’m going to show you how to be alone, this is what it feels like,” he says as he storms out of the building.

The pregnant actor sits alone crying until one man goes over to ask if the young pregnant woman is okay and needs a ride, “You don’t deserve that, you know,” he tells her.

She is invited to join he and his mom at their table where she tells them she is 16 and doesn’t want an abortion. Although the man’s mother tells her it will be hard to keep a baby at that age, the sympathetic man intervenes and says, “You don’t know that,” in an effort to be more comforting.

What Would You Do if you overheard this conversation in a public place?

Wait Until You See the Anti-American, Hate-Filled ‘New Pledge’ this Professor Made his Students Recite

December 8, 2014 By

Pledge-2
Dr. Charles Angeletti, a tenured professor at Metropolitan State University in Denver, claims to love America. But, if what he had his students do is displaying love for our great republic, then I’d be a little nervous to see how he demonstrates hatred or loathing.
 Propaganda Alert BS Alert
A professor at the university since 1967, Dr. Angeletti has had his students recite this America bashing pledge for the past 20 years. But, for some reason, it is just coming to light thanks to freshman Meteorology major Steven Farr. This ‘new pledge’ reads as follows:

“I pledge allegiance to and wrap myself in the flag of the United States Against Anything Un-American and to the Republicans for which it stands, two nations, under Jesus, rich against poor, with curtailed liberty and justice for all except blacks, homosexuals, women who want abortions, Communists, welfare queens, treehuggers, feminazis, illegal immigrants, children of illegal immigrants, and you if you don’t watch your step.”Liberalism a mental disorder

Farr, outraged, shared a copy of the handout of this ‘new pledge’ with Campus Reform  . In an interview with them, Farr said, “This was an attempt to propagandize an entire classroom of young adults.” He also conveyed that no alternative political prospective beyond far left progressivism espoused by Angeletti who is an admitted atheist and socialist.

Campus Reform  reached out to the professor to give him a chance to explain himself. During the interview, he doubled down on this ‘new pledge.’ He retorted, “We’re very racist, we’re very repressive, we’re very Christian oriented, we don’t tolerate other kinds of thinking in this country. I could go on and on—and do in my classes for hours about things that we need to do to make this a better country.”

Black professor says “white people are ready to commit race suicide” [VIDEO]

Written by Allen West on December 6, 2014

I was recently on the campus of Cornell University to speak about national security issues on the 21st century battlefield, especially the Middle East. It was humbling to be on that historic Ivy League campus. Of course I’d heard all the chatter about the possibility of interruptions, but guess what? It was a respectful and great session. But I’m scratching my head right now after reading about a certain Cornell University Professor named Russell Rickford.

As reported by the Daily Caller, “Russell Rickford, an assistant history professor at Cornell University, urged white students to commit “race suicide” on Wednesday night in response to the death of Michael Brown and the recent riots in Ferguson, Mo.”

“The event at which Rickford spoke was called “Ferguson: The Next Steps,” according to Campus Reform. A staffer for The Cornell Review, the Ivy League school’s conservative student rag, recorded the event. The Ivy League professor suggested that “treason to whiteness” is a necessary step to salvage humanity. “There’s still a slender minority of white folks, a very slender, but a slender minority of white folks, that are ready to commit race suicide,” Rickford told the audience, near the end of his remarks. “Which is to say, they are ready to reject corrupt skin privileges. They’re ready to perform treason to whiteness, as an expression of their loyalty to humanity.”

I recently penned a piece entitled “The Redefinition of America” and I alluded to a far away room where some folks meet to redefine language in our country. So in light of that piece, I just have to ask — what in the heck is “perform treason to whiteness?”

SEE THE VIDEO HERE:

vid03

This is why some parents get concerned about the college to which their children are sent. Here we have a university professor who has no explanation for the consequences of the actions of Michael Brown, but rather suggests that white people commit race suicide — ‘splain that one to me please?

Instead of teaching and preparing our young people to be successful productive citizens — the good professor wishes students — and I guess some whites, to do what? Reject themselves for the sake of some “loyalty to humanity?” And just how is that defined?

Herein lies the problem with higher education today. We are sending our children to these schools for an education — not indoctrination. And furthermore, thousands of dollars in student financial aid is being provided for what? This is what they “learn” — only to graduate and return to Mom and Dad’s and work at Starbucks?

And as if the previous words of Professor Rickford were confusing enough, these words truly prove incendiary and promote a false narrative. The Daily Caller says “Rickford, who grew up in Palo Alto, Calif., also suggested that the police are “mercenaries for the corporations and the rich” and go out of their way to kill black people.”Liberalism a mental disorder

These collective statements do not serve to engender an atmosphere of respect for our law enforcement officers – as a matter of fact, it puts an even greater target on them. I know many police officers, my own older brother was an Atlanta police officer and detective. None that I know are “mercenaries” for anyone. They are servants to the public who risk their lives to provide safety and security to the populace.

The words of Professor Rickford remind me of another time when the liberal progressive leftists verbally — and sometimes physically — attacked our men and women in uniform returning from Vietnam, referring to them as “baby killers.” It seems the Sixties radicals have been resurrected and the echoes of “kill the pigs” are returning.

So does Professor Rickford believe the police live to serve only George Soros, Tom Steyer, the cultural and entertainment elites like Gwyneth Paltrow — or just how does he define rich and corporate?

And if this misguided professor seems to believe that police officers go out of their way to kill black people — then what explanation does he have for the black people that actually ARE killing black people at alarming rates — far more than police are shooting blacks, which are down.

Professor Rickford asserts, “We attempt to negotiate with a system that has demonstrated time and time again its utter disdain for the sanctity of black lives,” he pontificates at the 8:32 mark of the video. “Not only its disdain, but its deep commitment to the slaughtering of black and brown people.”

He alleges that black Americans are suffering from “genocide” and many black Americans are complicit in the act — I concur, and their names are Jackson, Sharpton, Morial among others. “The petite bourgeoisie, including black and brown folks stands [sic] on the sidelines mumbling, asking white supremacy to please crack fewer hits,” he bloviates. And even more interesting Dr. Rickford, who earned his graduate degree from Columbia University, once claimed, “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day was a tool of the far-right imperialists to appease people.”Pro Race Baitersracismjacksonsharptonobamaracebaiterssettingamericaback

Well, one thing is for certain, Rahm Emanuel was correct — “never let a good crisis go to waste” — and the progressive socialist left is going to milk this for what it is worth. So much for that “post-racial” America after the election and reelection of the first black president. Black lives do matter –but apparently only those who support a specified political agenda. Blog wishes

Video: Rush Limbaugh: ‘There is a Grievance Politics in this Country that is Tearing Our Country Apart’

December 8, 2014 By

Rush Limbaugh, the top voice in America for conservative talk radio, recently appeared on Fox News Sunday to addressrush2 the politics surrounding the recent deaths of Michael Brown in Ferguson and Eric Garner in New York.

Right out of the gate, Limbaugh spoke candidly about the nature of the protests that have engulfed America and noted, “There is a grievance politics in this country that is tearing our country apart.”
Limbaugh noted that the “grievance politics” are constantly augmented and though President Obama could do much in the way of offering a unifying message, continues to use his pulpit for the further division of this country.
The interview is fascinating with many astute observations about the nature of racial politics in America and who is using and abusing this serious issue to further a political agenda.

Health law impacts primary care doc shortage

MIAMI (AP) — When Olivia Papa signed up for a new health plan last year, her insurance company assigned her to a primary care doctor. The relatively healthy 61-year-old didn’t try to see the doctor until last month, when she and her husband both needed authorization to see separate specialists.

She called the doctor’s office several times without luck.

“They told me that they were not on the plan, they were never on the plan and they’d been trying to get their name off the plan all year,” said Papa, who recently bought a plan from a different insurance company.Complete Message

It was no better with the next doctor she was assigned. The Naples, Florida, resident said she left a message to make an appointment, “and they never called back.”

The Papas were among the 6.7 million people who gained insurance through the Affordable Care Act last year, flooding a primary care system that is struggling to keep up with demand.

A survey this year by The Physicians Foundation found that 81 percent of doctors describe themselves as either over-extended or at full capacity, and 44 percent said they planned to cut back on the number of patients they see, retire, work part-time or close their practice to new patients.Communist

At the same time, insurance companies have routinely limited the number of doctors and providers on their plans as a way to cut costs. The result has further restricted some patients’ ability to get appointments quickly.

One purpose of the new health law was connecting patients, many of whom never had insurance before, with primary care doctors to prevent them from landing in the emergency room when they are sicker and their care is more expensive. Yet nearly 1 in 5 Americans lives in a region designated as having a shortage of primary care physicians, and the number of doctors entering the field isn’t expected to keep pace with demand.

The Association of American Medical Colleges projects the shortage will grow to about 66,000 in little more than a decade as fewer residency slots are available and as more medical students choose higher-paying specialty areas.

For now, experts say most patients are receiving the care they need, even if they have to drive farther, wait longer or see a nurse practitioner or physician assistant rather than a doctor.

More importantly, many are getting care for the first time. The surge also has forced many doctors to streamline their practice and rely more on mid-tier professionals instead of seeing every patient themselves.Mar 3 12

“Family doctors are seeing a pretty significant increase in requests for appointments from new patients,” said Dr. Wanda Filer, a primary care doctor in York, Pennsylvania, and president of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In response, the academy of more than 115,000 doctors say they’re adding new physicians to their practices, relying more on nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants, adding evening and weekend appointments. Despite the demand, Filer said most patients can get same-day appointments with someone on their team.

Dr. Laura Byerly has seen a surge of more than 2,000 new patients since January at her chain of health clinics in Hillsboro, Oregon, about 30 minutes west of Portland. Many had sporadic or no medical care for many years.

She hired new primary care doctors, receptionists and nurses whose sole role is to see new patients and prepare the chart for the first visit with the doctor. They even opened a new clinic so patients who used to drive 45 minutes for a visit could now see a doctor five minutes from home.

“The new patients required a significant amount of work to understand just what medications they should be on, what are their active diagnoses, what studies are needed now, and just who they are and what their life is like,” said Byerly, who is the medical director of the Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation health clinics.PAy for Medical

Dr. Jack Chou takes patients only during open enrollment. Otherwise, it’s a six to nine-month wait at his Los Angeles-area practice, where most of the new patients were covered through Medicaid expansion.

“The initial visit takes much longer because we’re trying to learn about patients who had fragmented care or no care at all,” said Chou. Despite the staffing struggles, “it’s actually a godsend for some of my patients.”

While most doctors are successfully juggling the influx, there have been cases like that of the Papas, in which consumers call multiple doctors only to find they are not in network or the doctors are not taking new patients.

Insurance agent Anthony Halby heard similar complaints from his clients in Grass Valley, California, a Sierra foothill community about an hour east of Sacramento. He said half a dozen consumers wanted him to switch their health plans as soon as the second round of open enrollment started earlier this month. They told him the plan they chose last year made it extremely difficult to find primary care doctors.Only Democrats

Only two insurance companies in the Gold Rush-era town offer coverage through the state exchange, and just four or five primary care doctors out of about 135 signed up with one insurer.

The other insurer has more doctors, but most are considered out of network. That means patients who use them will pay 60 percent of the bill, he said.

“Coverage does not equal access,” said Halby, who instead recommends his clients choose a plan outside the exchange that has a much broader provider network but also will not come with the government premium subsidies given to most of those who buy insurance through the exchange. “I tell people this up front: The premiums are going to be higher because there’s no subsidy. However, I’m going to guarantee you can keep your doctor.”Me Myself and LIE

The United States of America, 2014

New WhatDidYouSay Logo

Adapted from Romans 1:18-32 through Chapter 2; Easy to Read Version, American Bible Society

“God is showing His anger from heaven against all the evil and wrong things that the American people do, permit and tolerate. Their evil lives hide the truth they have. This makes God angry because they have been shown what The Most High God really is like. Yes, God has made it clear to America.

There are things about God, Most High, that people cannot see—His eternal power and all that makes Him God. But, since the beginning of the world, those things have been easy for people to understand. They are made clear in what God has made. So people have no excuse for the evil they do.

Because of Adam and Eve’s sin (eating the forbidden fruit of “The Knowledge of Good and Evil”) The American People have always known the Living God, but The American People have not honored Him as God, and they did not thank Him. Their ideas are all useless. There is not one good thought left in their foolish minds.

They say they were wise, but they became fools. Instead of honoring the divine greatness of God, who lives forever, they traded it for the worship of idols—things made to look like humans, who get sick and die, or like birds, animals, snakes, the environment, “political correctness”, celebrities, and meaningless philosophies. These American People wanted only to do evil. So God left them and let them go their sinful way;

  • They became completely immoral and used their bodies in shameful ways with each other.
  • They traded the truth of God for a lie.
  • They bowed down and worshiped the things God made instead of worshiping the God who made those things. He is the one who should be praised forever. Amen.

Because people did those things, God left them and let them do the shameful things they wanted to do;

  • Women stopped having natural sex with men and started having sex with other women.
  • In the same way, men stopped having natural sex with women and began wanting each other all the time. Men did shameful things with other men, and in their bodies they received the punishment for those wrongs.
  • People did not think it was important to have a true knowledge of God.

So God left them and allowed them to have their own worthless thinking. And so they do what they should not do;

  • They are filled with every kind of sin, evil, greed, and hatred.
  • They are full of jealousy, murder, fighting, lying, and thinking the worst things about each other.
  • They gossip and say evil things about each other.
  • They hate God.
  • They are rude, proud, and brag about themselves.
  • They invent ways of doing evil.
  • They don’t obey their parents,
  • they are foolish,
  • they don’t keep their promises,
  • and they show no kindness or mercy to others.
  • They know God’s righteousness says that anyone who lives like that should die.
  • They not only continue to do these things themselves, but they also encourage others who do them.”

So, The Evangelical Church in America, do you think that you can judge America’s people? You are wrong. You too are guilty of sin. You judge them, but you do the same things they do. So when you judge them, you are really condemning yourself. God judges all who do such things, and we know his judgment is right. And since you do the same things as the American People you judge, surely you understand that God will punish you too. How could you think you would be able to escape his judgment? God has been kind to you. He has been very patient, waiting for you to change. But you think nothing of his kindness. Maybe you don’t understand that God is kind to you so that you will decide to change your lives.

But you are so stubborn! You refuse to change. So you are making your own punishment greater and greater. You will be punished on the day when God will show his anger. On that day everyone will see how right God is to judge people. He will reward or punish everyone for what they have done. Some people live for God’s glory, for honor, and for life that cannot be destroyed. They live for those things by always continuing to do good. God will give eternal life to them. But others are selfish, simply religious, and refuse to follow truth. They follow evil. God will show his anger and punish them. He will give trouble and suffering to everyone who does evil—to the Evangelical Church in America first and also to those who are not followers. But he will give glory, honor, and peace to everyone who does good—to the Evangelical Church in America first and also to those who are not followers. God judges everyone the same. It doesn’t matter who they are.

People who have a genuine relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and those who have never heard that such a relationship is necessary to receive Eternal Life are all the same when they sin. People who don’t have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ will be lost. And, in the same way, those who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and are sinners will be judged by God. Hearing the Word does not make people right with God. They will be right before him only if they always do what the Word says.

Those who are not relationship Christians don’t have the Word of God in their hearts. But when they naturally do what the Word commands without even knowing the Word, then they are their own spiritual law. This is true even though they don’t know the written Word. They show that in their hearts they know what is right and wrong, the same as the Word of God commands, and their consciences agree. Sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done wrong, and this makes them guilty. And sometimes their thoughts tell them that they have done right, and this makes them not guilty. This knowledge has been passed onto every human born in the earth since Adam and Eve.

All this will happen on the day when God will judge people’s secret thoughts through Jesus Christ. This is part of the Good News that the Evangelical Church in America is suppose to tell everyone.

What about you? You say you are a Christian. You trust in the Lord and proudly claim to a personal relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. You know what God wants you to do. And you know what is important, because you have learned the Word of God. You think you are a guide for people who don’t know the right way, a light for those who are in the dark. You think you can show foolish people what is right. And you think you are a teacher for those who are just beginning to learn. You have the Word of God, and so you think you know everything and have all truth. You teach others, so why don’t you teach yourself?

You tell them not to steal, but you yourself steal;

  • When you don’t tithe faithfully.
  • When you don’t pay your taxes through deceit.
  • When you don’t give your employer a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.
  • You give to your lusts and wants instead of to the work of the Church.
  • You spend recklessly on things, but you aren’t putting enough aside for your children

You say they must not commit adultery, but you yourself are guilty of that sin.

  • Remember Jesus taught to lust after a person of the opposite sex is the same as adultery?

You hate idols, but you steal them from their temples;

  • When you know more about your celebrity idols than the Word of God.
  • When you spend more time lusting after your idols rather than spending that time with your spouse, children and God the Father in prayer.

You are so proud that you have God’s Word, but you bring shame to God by breaking His Word.

As the Scriptures say, “People in other nations insult God because of your hypocritical witness.”

If you follow the Word of God, then your circumcised (sanctified, separated) life has meaning. But if you knowingly sin, then it is as if you were never circumcised (sanctified, separated). Those who are not Christians have not separated themselves to follow Jesus. But if they do what the Word says, it is as if they were separated to follow Him. You have the Word and sanctification, but you knowingly disobey God’s known Word. So those who are not sanctified in their spirits, but still obey the Word, will show that you are guilty.

You are not a true Christian if you are only a Christian in label only. True Christianity that is genuinely separated to follow Jesus is not only what you want people to see. A true Christian that has a genuine personal relationship with the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ is one who is a Christian inside-out. True sanctification is done in the heart. It is done by the Spirit, not by religious activity. And anyone who is sanctified in the heart by the Spirit gets praise from God, not from people.”

Saudi-born US naval engineer allegedly gave undercover agent info on how to sink carrier

Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va., a civilian with the U.S. Navy, leaves the federal courthouse in Norfolk, Va. on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 after he was arrested on charges he tried to steal schematics for the under construction Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier for Egypt. (AP Photo/The Virginian-Pilot, Steve Earley)

A Naval engineer is facing charges that he gave an FBI undercover agent posing as an Egyptian intelligence officer secret documents about the new Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier while discussing how to sink the vessel with a missile.

Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va., was arrested Friday on an FBI affidavit that reads like it came from a Tom Clancy novel. Federal prosecutors in Virginia say that during his conversations with the undercover, Awwad arranged to use a dead-drop location along a secluded hiking trail to pass secrets about the Ford, which is being built in Virginia for delivery to the Navy in 2016. The affidavit says that at a hotel meeting on Oct. 9 Awwad gave the undercover drawings of the aircraft carrier that he said were top secret. During the meeting, “Awwad discussed where to strike the vessel with a missile in order to sink it,” the affidavit says.

The FBI undercover was posing as an Egyptian spy named “Yousef” and spoke to Awwad in Arabic.

The Virginian Pilot said Saturday that Awwad cried as he was led into the courtroom for a brief hearing before a federal magistrate judge in Norfolk. He wore a pink collared shirt, sweater vest and tan pants, the paper said. The judge ordered Awwad detained until a hearing Wednesday.

The indictment accuses Awwad of two counts of attempted exportation of defense articles and technical data. Each count is punishable by 20 years in prison.

The affidavit says Awwad was born in Saudia Arabia and married a U.S. citizen in Cairo in 2007. After his marriage he took steps to become an American citizen.

The court papers also say the Navy hired Awwad to work in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s nuclear engineering and planning department in February and that he got a security clearance in August.

The FBI sting began in September when the undercover contacted Awwad. The court papers do not say why Awwad became a target. During their first meeting in a park in Hampton, Va., Awwad explained to “Yousef” that he intended to use his position to obtain military technology for use by the Egyptian government, including but not limited to, the designs of the USS Gerald Ford nuclear aircraft carrier.

“Awwad agreed to conduct clandestine communications with the undercover FBI agent by email and unattributable telephones and to conduct ‘dead drops’ in a concealed location in the park,” the Justice Department said in a press release, cited by the Navy Times.

At the Oct. 9 meeting Awwad asked for $1,500 to buy a tiny camera to enable him to photograph restricted material around the shipyard, according to the affidavit. On Oct. 23, Awwad retrieved $3,000 in cash left at the dead-drop location. He left behind a container with an external hard drive and two passport photos. The FBI later collected the containers.

The day after Thanksgiving Awwad was observed in his Navy office holding what appeared to be aircraft design schematics which he placed on the floor and photographed.

The Pilot said the USS Ford is the lead ship in the Navy’s new class of carriers. The Ford stands 25 stories high and is three football fields long.

Retired rear admiral Fred Metz, head of the Navy’s carrier and air station program until 1991, told the paper its bad enough for the schematics of any Navy vessel to be given away.

“But it’s worse to give away the Ford’s,” he said. “There is a whole lot of new technology on it we haven’t seen before.”

Nine States Consider Making High Schoolers Pass Citizenship Tests

December 4, 2014 By

ZAmerica
For decades, the federal Department of Education has placed a low priority on the importance of teaching U.S. history and civics. The cooperation with far-left teachers unions, the federalized education system in the U.S. has restricted the teaching of topics that will alert future generations to the dangers of collectivist ideologies and restrictive governmentAMEN

After all, a young adult who does not understand the Constitution and it’s foundation in enlightenment thinking- that our rights are derived from God and guaranteed by government- is likely to shrug-off such usurpations and totalitarian abuses like executive amnesty edicts, unconstitutional gun laws and radicalized bureaucracies like Eric Holder’s so-called Department of Justice.
Don’t take my word for it; even the architect of Obamacare has proudly noted that the Obama Administration relied on an easily-duped, “stupid” American populace to enact the socialized medicine monstrosity.group imperial obama

Now, a nonprofit education group is calling for American high-schoolers to be required to pass the same citizenship test given to immigrants…AMEN

You know, when waiting in line and going through the legal immigration process mattered…

The Civics Education Initiative, an Arizona-based non-profit group, is pushing for legislation in Arizona, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico,  North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota and Utah that would require all high school students to pass the same test that immigrants applying for U.S. citizenship must pass. The test includes questions about U.S. history and government and the Constitution.

There’s reason to believe too many Americans aren’t getting enough of a civics education these days.

According to the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, just one-third of Americans can name all three branches of the federal government. More alarming is the fact that another third can’t name even a single branch.

Only 13 percent of Americans knew that the Constitution was signed in 1787. Only 15 percent were able to correctly identify John Roberts as the chief justice of the Supreme Court. But fear not, people aren’t completely ignorant:  Nearly twice as many were able to identify Randy Jackson as an American Idol judge.

Civics education has been placed largely on the backburner in American public schools as the focus of curriculum has shifted more toward science, technology, engineering and math to prepare students for the technology-based economy. STEM education is no doubt important: after, all Americans need to be properly trained to compete in the global economy. But by neglecting civics education, we undermine citizens’ sense of what it means to be an American and weaken the foundations of our society. AMEN

Let’s be fair; while we still retain, in theory, three distinctly separate branches of government, one can forgive the confusion of graduating students. After all, when a president operates as a legislator and an executive, are there, in fact, separate branches in place?

Still, the point remains that if America is going to come back from the precipice of fiscal and cultural ruin, an emphasis on the foundational principles and an understanding of what made America so great is needed in public schools.

AMEN

Superior officer on the scene during Eric Garner’s death was a black woman

5 Dec 2014

I read over two dozen major media reports detailing the circumstances of Eric Garner’s death yesterday, after the grand jury declined to issue an indictment against Officer Daniel Pantaleo, and angry demonstrators flooded the streets of New York.  Every single one of those reports, like all previous reporting on the case, went out of its way to mention that Garner was black and Pantaleo is white.

Some of those reports mentioned that several other officers were present on the scene.  A few of those reports noted, in passing, that a superior officer was watching over Garner’s arrest.  A very few of those reports said that the superior officer was a woman.  Absolutely none of them – not one – mentioned that she was black.  But such is the case, according to a blog post at Gateway Pundit:

Lost in the racial outcry over the decision to not indict white police officer Daniel Pantaleo in the death of Black petty criminal Eric Garner is the key fact that the attempt to arrest Garner was overseen by a Black female police sergeant.com06

The Black female police sergeant is not shown in the countless replays in the media of cellphone footage that showed white male police officers confronting and taking down Garner but she is said to be seen in the video.

That’s a highly relevant detail, given that the protesters believe Garner’s death was an act of racial discrimination, and Attorney General Eric Holder is grandstanding by claiming that the Justice Department will conduct a civil-rights investigation of Pantaleo.  That was always just a bit of political red meat thrown to the mob – the odds of DOJ actually bringing charges in such a case is nearly zero, given the burden of proof involved; their function is not to conduct a do-over on the lesser charges many observers think the grand jury should have brought.  But it’s especially ridiculous if the arrest was under the control of a black female officer. com07

There were actually two sergeants on the scene, and both of them gave testimony to the grand jury, which probably has a lot to do with why even the more minor charges of negligence were not handed down, along with medical testimony that Garner’s bad physical condition had more to do with his death than any “choke hold.”  (Even that assumption is not as cut-and-dry as protesters and the media tend to believe, because among other things, you can’t talk when you’re in a choke hold, and Garner was talking.)  com08

The media is so invested in politically correct, juicy Narratives – and so easily led around by representatives from the pressure groups they like – that they don’t dig in to uncover the details that might reduce paranoia and keep outrage from reaching the boiling point.  The Elizabeth Lauten nonsense shows how much digging they can do when they love a story, even as their audience groans, rolls its eyes, and wonders why intense background checks are being performed on obscure political staffers whose crime was writing a Facebook post.

At last: Ft Hood victims may be recognized with Purple Heart

Written by Allen West on December 5, 2014

purple-heart-588x352While serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, one of my committee assignments was with the House Armed Services — and the subcommittee on Military Personnel. I was honored to serve on a committee dedicated to providing policy oversight to our men and women in uniform and their families.

Therefore, I took to heart the travesty of the Islamic jihadist attacks at the Little Rock, Arkansas recruiting station, at Ft. Hood, Texas and against our U.S. Airmen at Ramstein AB. In all of these instances, no one wanted to recognize these attacks for what they were – because of blind denial or political correctness — but someone needed to speak out.

And so I sat with my Legislative Director, Josh Grodin, and we came up with a piece of legislation called the Global Combat Zone Recognition Act. The purpose was to recognize any attack anywhere against our men and women in uniform as no different from an attack in what was termed a “combat zone” — because indeed, they were in combat everywhere on the 21st century battlefield. ISIS has certainly reminded us of this over social media — and the savage attacks against the Canadian soldiers and British soldier Lee Rigby provide further examples.

The Global Combat Zone Recognition Act had bipartisan support because it would ensure those men and women would receive the proper recognition and benefits. It was a solid piece of legislation and policy — but for whatever reason the House Majority Leader at the time refused to give it attention.

So it goes on Capitol Hill. Josh and I are no longer there, but our efforts may finally be bearing fruit. As reported by the Washington Times, “Victims of the Fort Hood shooting will soon be eligible to receive the Purple Heart, with Congress pushing ahead with a policy change that would officially recognize domestic terrorism as an issue, rather than the “workplace violence” designation the Obama administration had used. The issue has been contentious since the 2009 attack, with victims and their family members saying Army Maj. Nidal Hasan’s shooting spree was clearly linked to the broader war on terror that the U.S. is fighting overseas. For years, the families’ congressional allies had butted heads with the Obama administration, which balked at designating part of the U.S. the equivalent of a battlefield.”

This past summer I stood with two of my former colleagues at Ft. Hood Texas, Rep. John “Judge” Carter and Rep. Bill Flores — speaking out to right this wrong. Congratulations, gentlemen. Our men and women are fighting against a vile and vicious enemy who knows no borders or boundaries and see our troops as targets — everywhere — and that includes their families. This is the right step in finally understanding that this is indeed a global conflagration.

“It’s been a long fight, and we’ve always had some stumbling blocks, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed and will be very happy when this thing is signed by the president so we can go back to those people who have been waiting for some acknowledgment of their injuries,” Rep. John R. Carter, Texas Republican, told The Washington Times.”

Under current law, Purple Hearts can be awarded to members of the military who are killed by an enemy in battle or wounded severely enough to see a doctor. The issue, Mr. Carter said, is that those who opposed this change don’t believe the base near Killeen, Texas, is an “official battlefield” – but the battlefield is everywhere against this enemy.

The White House did not have an immediate comment on the change. But why not? Why wouldn’t the Commander-in-Chief fully embrace this policy change and as a matter of fact, be its greatest advocate? Why wouldn’t every single Member of the U.S. House and Senate not stand shoulder to shoulder and fully welcome this policy change to send a powerful message to our enemies? We recognize you want to fight us everywhere — and we shall meet you, defeat you and protect our men and women providing them with the proper recognition for their service.

This means so very much not only to those in uniform but also to the families — especially for those who have lost their lives in service to America from the hands of the enemy right here on our homeland. Nidal Hasan has admitted to being a “Soldier of Allah” and a jihadist who wishes to join ISIS — he is hailed as an example. Therefore, let us set a greater example in recognizing those he cowardly attacked — such as Carlos Bledsoe, and any others.

As the Times recounts, “Hasan shouted “Allahu akbar,” Arabic for “God is great,” while going on his shooting spree that left 13 dead and more than 30 injured. In testimony, the American-born Muslim said he was receiving assistance from foreign terrorist sources, and an FBI investigation found he had been emailing with Anwar al-Awlaki, an al-Qaida leader who was killed in a 2011 drone strike in Yemen. Hasan was sentenced to the death penalty in 2013, but the appeals process is expected to last for years if not decades. Where were the protests and riots for justice for our men and women innocently gunned down at Ft. Hood?

According to the Washington Times, “the Pentagon said in a 2013 letter that changing the medal criteria to include victims of Fort Hood could affect the integrity of the Purple Heart and “irrevocably alter the fundamental character of this time-honored decoration.” Defense officials also worried deeming the shooting an act of terrorism while legal proceedings take place would strip Hasan of his right to a fair trial.” Liberalism a mental disorder

Well, the trial is over and there is no excuse. Extend the Purple Heart recognition.

It is my hope that perhaps one of the newly elected House or Senate members who are veterans will resurrect the Global Combat Zone Recognition Act and get it passed. It is the right thing to do for our men and women who serve willingly to give the “last full measure of devotion.”

Clinton says America should ‘empathize’ with its enemies

Published December 05, 2014 FoxNews.com

4Hillary Clinton is taking heat for saying America should “empathize” and show “respect” for its enemies.

The former secretary of State, who is considered a likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, made the remarks during a speech Wednesday at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

Touting an approach she calls “smart power,” Clinton urged America to use “every possible tool and partner” to advance peace.

This, she said, includes “leaving no one on the sidelines, showing respect even for one’s enemies, trying to understand and insofar as psychologically possible, empathize with their perspective and point of view.” Liberalism a mental disorder

At a time when the U.S. military is launching airstrikes against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, some called the comments out of place.

Former Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North, a Fox News host, said the comments are “irrational.”

“I can’t think of a presidential candidate who would have said those kinds of things,” he said. “Think about December 7, 1941 and then FDR going to the Congress of the United States the next day saying, ‘We need to have more empathy for Japan.’”Liberalism a mental disorder

North added: “If you’re going to run for president of the United States, you cannot talk that way about the people who intend to kill us. Who are dying to kill us. … This is capitulation.”

Karl Rove, former George W. Bush adviser and Fox News analyst, called Clinton’s remarks the “wrong language.”

WND – http://www.wnd.com – Head fake? Obama never signed amnesty order

obama-immigration-speech

President Obama strides to a podium in the East Room at the White House Nov. 20 to deliver an address to the nation on his immigration actions (Screenshot from White House video).

NEW YORK – It’s common knowledge President Obama signed an executive order directing the Department of Homeland Security to forgive millions of illegal aliens for their past violations of immigration law, right?

Wrong.

Today the National Archives and Records Administration, responsible for maintaining such filings, said no such executive order was ever signed or filed, confirming WND’s report Wednesday.

A National Archives librarian, Jeffrey Hartley, made the confirmation in an email Thursday to WND.

“As I indicated, it would appear that there is not an Executive Order stemming from the President’s remarks on November 20 on immigration,” Hartley wrote.

Hartley said that neither of the executive orders Obama signed in Las Vegas the day after his announcement fulfill his plan to defer deportations and grant work permits to up to 5 million illegal aliens.

“The only two documents that I have located are two Presidential Memoranda, which are available from the White House site,” Hartley’s email continued. “They can also be found in the November 26, 2014 issue of the Federal Register.”

The two documents Hartley referenced were the two executive orders Obama signed in Las Vegas Nov. 21.

One was a presidential proclamation creating a White House Task Force on New Americans and the other a presidential memorandum instructing the secretaries of State and Homeland Security to consult with various governmental and non-governmental entities to reduce costs and improve service in issuing immigrant and non-immigrant visas.

Meanwhile, the office of Texas Attorney General and Governor-elect Greg Abbott – who has filed a lawsuit against Obama’s immigration action – told WND it was aware there was no executive order signed by Obama implementing the actions outlined to the nation in his Nov. 20 speech.

On Wednesday, attorneys general in 16 other states joined in the lawsuit with Abbott charging Obama’s immigration action violated the U.S. Constitution’s “Take Care” clause and failed to follow the Administrative Procedure Act’s guidelines for implementing new policies, including a comment period to outline the changes’ benefits.

Abbott said in a statement the president “is abdicating his responsibility to faithfully enforce laws that were duly enacted by Congress and attempting to rewrite immigration laws, which he has no authority to do – something the president himself has previously admitted.”

Abbott’s press office referred WND to the complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas asking for declaratory and injunctive relief.

The complaint states: “The President’s new policies were effectuated through Defendant Johnson’s DHS Directive.”com01

If confirms WND’s report that the only Obama administration document relevant to the plan Obama announced Nov. 20 is a DHS memorandum signed by Johnson titled “Exercising Prosecutorial Discretion with Respect to Individuals Who Came to the United States as Children with Respect to Certain Individuals Who Are the Parents of U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.”

Abbott’s complaint further indicated the only basis for the DHS memo directing the change in the operation of the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals program was not a presidential executive order but a legal opinion written by the principal deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel, Karl R. Thompson, to advise Johnson and White House counsel.com02

The principal argument in Abbott’s complaint is that the DHS directive violates the president’s constitutional duty to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed,” as set forth by the U.S. Constitution in Article II, Section 3, Clause 5.

“The Take Care Clause limits the President’s power and ensures that he will faithfully execute Congress’s laws – not rewrite them under the guise of executive ‘discretion,’” Abbott’s complaint stated in the first count.

The second count further confirmed WND’s reporting that Johnson’s Nov. 20 memorandum has not been filed in the Federal Register, which means it has not been available for public comment as required by federal law for federal administrative agencies seeking to engage in rulemaking.

“The Defendants promulgated and relied upon the DHS Directive without authority and without notice-and-comment rulemaking,” Abbott’s complaint specified in Count Two. “It is therefore unlawful.”

The “Guide to the Federal Rulemaking Process” published by the Office of the Federal Register specifies agencies “get their authority to issue regulations from laws (statutes) enacted by Congress.”com03

In an interview with WND Wednesday, Tom Fitton, president of Washington-based watchdog Judicial Watch, said the legal status of Johnson’s memo is a serious constitutional question that deserves to be adjudicated.

He said Obama’s “entire implementing authority” regarding the immigration action is Johnson’s memo, “which changes the immigration law, directing federal money to be spent that has not been appropriated by Congress.”com04

“In my view, there is a serious question whether Jeh Johnson should be impeached for taking this action, and a criminal investigation should be initiated to determine how and why federal funds are being misappropriated,” he declared.

How did everyone get it wrong?

How then did the White House manage to convince the mainstream media, Congress and the nation that Obama had signed in Las Vegas two executive orders to implement the immigration actions he announced in his Nov. 20 speech from the White House?

On Nov. 20 at approximately 6 p.m., the White House press office released a “Fact Sheet” titled “Immigration Accountability Executive Action.”

The first sentence read: “The President’s Immigration Accountability Executive Actions will help secure the border, hold nearly 5 million undocumented immigrants accountable, and ensure that everyone plays by the same rules. Acting within his legal authority, the President is taking an important step to fix our broken immigration system.”B.S. Meter

The second sentence stated: “These executive actions crack down on illegal immigration at the border, prioritize deporting felons not families, and require certain undocumented immigrants to pass a criminal background check and pay their fair share of taxes as they register to temporarily stay in the U.S. without fear of deportation.”B.S. Meter

While neither sentence claimed Obama was about to sign an implementing executive order, both conveyed the impression “executive actions” would be taken to somehow legitimate the status of some 5 million illegal immigrants currently in the country.culture of deciet

In his Nov. 20 speech, Obama said: “Now, I continue to believe that the best way to solve this problem is by working together to pass that kind of common sense law. But until that happens, there are actions I have the legal authority to take as President – the same kinds of actions taken by Democratic and Republican presidents before me – that will help make our immigration system more fair and more just. Tonight, I am announcing those actions.”obama-liar4-266x189

The next day, the White House press office issued a “travel pool report” documenting that at about 12:15 p.m. local time in Las Vegas, shortly after landing and still aboard Air Force One, President Obama “signed two memoranda associated with his executive actions on immigration,” giving the impression the documents were orders to implement the changes in policy the president had specified in his speech. If his mouth is open he must be lying

The pool report said only still photographers were invited to record the signing, with no pool reporters allowed to be present or to answer questions.com05

Upon landing in Las Vegas, the White House press office released a statement saying, “Today aboard Air Force One the president signed two Presidential Memoranda associated with his executive actions.”

The White House press office did properly identify the contents of the two presidential memoranda, but no White House reporter at the time observed that they had nothing to do with modifying prosecution under DACA but dealt instead with unrelated immigration matters.

In his Las Vegas speech at Del Sol High School, Obama said: “We’re going to keep on working with members of Congress to make permanent reform a reality. But until that day comes, there are actions that I have the legal authority to take that will help make our immigration system more fair and more just. And this morning, I began to take some of those actions.”B.S. Meter

Moments before Officer Darren Wilson took Michael Brown’s Life, He was Saving One

Researched and Written by Tim Brown

URL of the Original Posting Site: http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/12/moments-officer-darren-wilson-took-michael-browns-life-saving-one/#cJyEUmw4QmfLJ7yI.99

In a story that isn’t getting national media coverage, it’s now being reveled that minutes before Officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown in Ferguson that he was engaged in helping to save the life of a two-year-old child, who just may have been black.

According to Opposing Views:

The report goes on to describe how Wilson responded to a call at Ferguson’s Northwinds Apartment Complex for an “emergency involving a 2-year-old child who had trouble breathing.” While attending to the sick child and the mother, Wilson reportedly got a call about the convenience store incident, but instead of responding himself, he reportedly stood with the family until health care workers arrived at the scene. It was only after they arrived that he responded to the theft call and, eventually, ran into Brown in the middle of the street.

In the report, Whiteman claims that the sick baby was “most likely” black because of a past report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that talks about the demographic of people living at the apartment complex in question.

“However, the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch reported on Oct. 18, 2014 that the very same Northwinds Apartment complex as one of many federally designated Section 8 Housing projects that the Post-Dispatch described as an ‘amalgam of crime, mismanagement and African-American poverty,'” reported Whiteman. “Furthermore, the Post-Dispatch made note that of the slew of low income projects (to include Northwinds) in St. Louis County, the overwhelming number of residents are black. According to the newspaper, ’99 percent [are] African-American.’ The remaining 1 percent is divided between whites, Latinos, American Indians, Pacific Islanders, East Asians and those of mixed races.”

The reported concluded that while there was no concrete evidence the child was black, all the demographic evidence points to that assumption.

However, the larger issue is that Officer Wilson was not one that seemed to take life lightly, but rather showed compassion for his fellow man and the citizens he served in Ferguson.

The fact that he waited with the family and child till medical help arrived and didn’t just jump in his car and head out looking for the so-called “gentle giant” speaks volumes too. He definitely put the life of the child ahead of a convenience store robbery. In other words, acts like this fly in the face of the claims of the Brown family and others that Wilson was a cold-blooded murderer.

However, one wonders about the mindset of many of Wilson’s critics. After announcing on ABC’s Good Morning America that he and his wife are expecting a baby, several liberals tweeted out these kinds of comments:

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘div-gpt-ad-1386367046357-1’); }); Ferguson Cop Darren Wilson Is Expecting a Child, unknown if he’ll shoot the baby when he raises his arms for a hug. @absrdNEWS

So this cousin f*ckin Neanderthal Darren Wilson is gonna have a baby. Just what the world needs: A bouncing bundle of racism.

— Vision (@VisionPoet) November 26, 2014

Seriously, after reading some of these comments, hearing Louis Head calling on protesters to “burn this b*tch down,” hearing the stories of Michael Brown’s mother and her posse and various other supporters of the Brown family, who sounds more psychotic and more apt to needlessly take a life, Darren Wilson or them? My money is on those who have already engaged in verbal assaults and the destruction of private property. What about you?

School district distributes lesson plan that compares Ferguson protests with Boston Tea Party

By Howard Portnoy on December 4, 2014

Ferguson protestI was under the impression that the Boston Tea Party was no longer taught in the nation’s schools because it is insulting to American Indians. Obviously I was mistaken:

After protesters in Ferguson, Missouri looted shops, burned police cars, and harassed reporters in the wake of a grand jury decision they disagreed with, the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, Wisconsin circulated a guide to teachers offering tips about how to talk about Ferguson with students.

Calling the Ferguson riots “a teachable moment for our students,” the Madison teacher’s guide encourages educators to use the resources and articles linked in the document, “to help frame the issues in Ferguson in a historical perspective.”

One of the resources linked in the document is a blog post by a Michigan teacher from August that compares the Ferguson riots and looting to the Boston Tea Party. Another resource linked was an article from The Atlantic titled “Reparations for Ferguson” that compared police officers to predators. [Emphasis added]

OK, let’s back up here and take a closer look at this comparison. The Boston Tea Party was a carefully planned and organized protest by the Sons of Liberty against a scheme by the British Crown to impose unfair taxes on the colonists. The Ferguson protests were a spontaneous, if predictable, mob reaction to a shooting death, egged on by “community organizers,” that resulted in the wholesale destruction of property in the predominantly black St. Louis suburb. About the only thing the two events have in common is that both can fairly be described as protests.Pro Race Baitersracismjacksonsharptonobamaracebaiterssettingamericaback

While we’re on the subject of education, this protester in New York City could certainly stand to do some work in remedial spelling:

Thanks A Lot Imperial President Obama. It’s official: America is now No. 2

A Bank of China branch under construction early this year in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

Hang on to your hats, America.

And throw away that big, fat styrofoam finger while you’re about it.

There’s no easy way to say this, so I’ll just say it: We’re no longer No. 1. Today, we’re No. 2. Yes, it’s official. The Chinese economy just overtook the United States economy to become the largest in the world. For the first time since Ulysses S. Grant was president, America is not the leading economic power on the planet.com05

Cloward Pevin with explanationIt just happened — and almost nobody noticed.

The International Monetary Fund recently released the latest numbers for the world economy. And when you measure national economic output in “real” terms of goods and services, China will this year produce $17.6 trillion — compared with $17.4 trillion for the U.S.A.

As recently as 2000, we produced nearly three times as much as the Chinese.

To put the numbers slightly differently, China now accounts for 16.5% of the global economy when measured in real purchasing-power terms, compared with 16.3% for the U.S.

This latest economic earthquake follows the development last year when China surpassed the U.S. for the first time in terms of global trade.com06

I reported on this looming development over two years ago, but the moment came sooner than I or anyone else had predicted. China’s recent decision to bring gross domestic product calculations in line with international standards has revealed activity that had previously gone uncounted.

These calculations are based on a well-established and widely used economic measure known as “Purchasing-Power Parity (or PPP)”, which measures the actual output as opposed to fluctuations in exchange rates. So a Starbucks venti Frappucino served in Beijing counts the same as a venti Frappucino served in Minneapolis, regardless of what happens to be going on among foreign-exchange traders.

“Make no mistake. This is a geopolitical earthquake with a high reading on the Richter scale.”

Decline-of-union-590PPP is the real way of comparing economies. It is one reported by the IMF and was, for example, the one used by McKinsey & Co. consultants back in the 1990s when they undertook a study of economic productivity on behalf of the British government.

Yes, when you look at mere international exchange rates, the U.S. economy remains bigger than that of China, allegedly by almost 70%. But such measures, although they are widely followed, are largely meaningless.

  • Does the U.S. economy really shrink if the dollar falls 10% on international currency markets?

  • Does the recent plunge in the yen mean the Japanese economy is vanishing before our eyes?DemWarProsperityPIX

Back in 2012, when I first reported on these figures, the IMF tried to challenge the importance of PPP. I was not surprised. It is not in anyone’s interest at the IMF that people in the Western world start focusing too much on the sheer extent of China’s power. But the PPP data come from the IMF, not from me. And it is noteworthy that when the IMF’s official World Economic Outlook compares countries by their share of world output, it does so using PPP.

Yes, all statistics are open to various quibbles. It is perfectly possible China’s latest numbers overstate output — or understate them. That may also be true of U.S. GDP figures. But the IMF data are the best we have.

Make no mistake: This is a geopolitical earthquake with a high reading on the Richter scale. Throughout history, political and military power have always depended on economic power. Britain was the workshop of the world before she ruled the waves. And it was Britain’s relative economic decline that preceded the collapse of her power. And it was a similar story with previous hegemonic powers such as France and Spain. All Have Nots

This will not change anything tomorrow or next week, but it will change almost everything in the longer term. We have lived in a world dominated by the U.S. since at least 1945 and, in many ways, since the late 19th century. And we have lived for 200 years — since the Battle of Waterloo in 1815 — in a world dominated by two reasonably democratic, constitutional countries in Great Britain and the U.S.A. For all their flaws, the two countries have been in the vanguard worldwide in terms of civil liberties, democratic processes and constitutional rights.
