FEC chair warns that conservative media like Drudge Report and Sean Hannity face regulation — like PACs

“I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers,” warned Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman in an interview.

“The right has begun to break the left’s media monopoly, particularly through new media outlets like the internet, and I sense that some on the left are starting to rethink the breadth of the media exemption and internet communications,” he added. SEE INTERVIEW HERE:

Noting the success of sites like the Drudge Report, Goodman said that protecting conservative media, especially those on the internet, “matters to me because I see the future going to the democratization of media largely through the internet. They can compete with the big boys now, and I have seen storm clouds that the second you start to regulate them, there is at least the possibility or indeed proclivity for selective enforcement, so we need to keep the media free and the internet free.”

All media has long benefited from an exemption from FEC rules, thereby allowing outlets to pick favorites in elections and promote them without any limits or disclosure requirements like political action committees.

But Goodman cited several examples where the FEC has considered regulating conservative media, including Sean Hannity‘s radio show and Citizens United’s movie division. Those efforts to lift the media exemption died in split votes at the politically evenly divided board, often with Democrats seeking regulation.

Liberals over the years have also pushed for a change in the Federal Communications Commission‘s “fairness doctrine” to cut of conservative voices, and retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens has delighted Democrats recently with a proposed Constitutional amendment that some say could force the media to stop endorsing candidates or promoting issues.

“The picking and choosing has started to occur,” said Goodman. “There are some in this building that think we can actually regulate” media, added Goodman, a Republican whose chairmanship lasts through December. And if that occurs, he said, “then I am concerned about disparate treatment of conservative media.”

He added, “Truth be told, I want conservative media to have the same exemption as all other media.”

Last year, a premature newborn in Australia, born along with his twin sister at just 27 weeks’ gestation and weighing in at only two pounds, was pronounced dead by his physician after medical staff tried for twenty minutes to revive him.

According to the U.K.’s Daily Mail, when Jamie was pronounced dead, the doctor handed him to his mother, Kate, so that she could say goodbye to her son. Kate took Jamie into her arms and tearfully caressed her tiny son.

She and her husband spoke to him, telling him what his name was, and that he had a sister. She told him the things that she had wanted to do with him throughout his life. Kate held Jamie on her chest, skin-to-skin, and occasionally he would gasp – a reflex the doctor said was normal after death.

But Kate held on to Jamie for two hours, cradling and talking to him, and slowly she witnessed him beginning to show signs of life.

Earlier we reported on the abject stupidity of John Kerry’s comment about Israel being an apartheid state. We also noted that he was spewing righteous indignation at the idea that he’s anti-Semitic because he cast votes as a Senator “in support of Israel.” He didn’t mention that those votes were always part of a larger package like voting for an omnibus foreign aid measure.

James Taranto, in the Wall St. Journal, drives a stake through the heart of that feeble argument.

“I will not allow my commitment to Israel to be questioned by anyone,” John Kerry pronounced in a press statement yesterday. Far be it from us to defy an order from the secretary of state. It is clear to us, however, that there is something to which Kerry’s commitment is far deeper.

On Friday the secretary spoke to what the Daily Beast’s Josh Rogin characterizes as “a room of influential world leaders in a closed-door meeting” of the Trilateral Commission. “The secretary of state said that if Israel doesn’t make peace soon, it could become ‘an apartheid state,’ like the old South Africa,” Rogin reported, citing a recording of the talk “obtained” by the Beast.

Was Kerry’s reference to “apartheid” just a careless choice of words? That’s unlikely. Byers reports that Joseph Nye, North American chairman of the Trilateral Commission, sent Kerry a letter profusely apologizing: “I am very distressed that Mr. Rogin somehow gained entrance to the meeting room but also that he blatantly ignored the clearly stated rules we had established and under which you agreed to appear before the Commission. His actions tarnish the Commission’s excellent reputation for honoring this pledge and that of all those who attended the session and did keep it.”

The purpose of granting such an assurance of confidentiality is to encourage candor. And it is hard to believe that Kerry would be especially careless in his choice of words before such an eminent audience.

There’s a bottom line to all of this. Kerry is delivering on the administration’s overt anti-Semitism behind what they thought were “closed doors.” More of that transparency stuff.

This begins to look like a protection racket. Kerry warned the Israelis that if they don’t accede to his demands, other countries will take action to stigmatize Israel. Last week, in a closed-door meeting with leaders from other countries, he invoked a slur that Israel’s enemies have employed for decades to stigmatize the Jewish state. If he was making a threat in February, he was attempting to carry it out last week.

There are actually two theories for this.

The first is that Kerry is simply promoting the administration’s anti-Semitic policies. The second is that Kerry wants his own Nobel Peas Prize, and the President would probably like another one. Michelle can use the money. Theresa doesn’t need it.

Or there’s our thought that it’s a combination of the two.

John Kerry is, and always has been, a vain and despicable man. He’s just getting a national stage to show it off.

 “All right, class. Today, we are going to test your ability to think critically. I want you write a paper arguing, pro or con, that the story of the transatlantic slave trade was a political hoax manufactured to sway public emotion.”

The putative assignment above would be grounds for the immediate dismissal of a teacher anywhere in the country. But imagine the same task in which the phrase transatlantic slave trade was replaced by Holocaust. Would any school district countenance its dissemination to middle school students?

The San Bernardino Sun confirms that it not only would be but was by the Rialto Unified School District, of Rialto, Calif. The office of the district’s interim superintendent — whose name is Mohammad Z. Islam — maintains that the assignment is intended “merely to teach students to evaluate the quality of evidence made by advocates or opponents of an issue.”

Here is the assignment, which was handed out in April:

When tragic events occur in history, there is often debate about their actual existence. For example, some people claim the Holocaust is not an actual historical event, but instead is a propaganda tool that was used for political and monetary gain. Based upon your research on this issue, write an argumentative essay, utilizing cited textual evidence, in which you explain whether or not you believe the Holocaust was an actual event in history, or merely a political scheme created to influence public emotion and gain. Remember to address counterclaims (rebuttals) to your stated claim. You are also required to use parenthetical (internal) citations and to provide a Works Cited page.

District spokeswoman Syeda Jafri explains that the assignment was developed by district teachers in connection with the eighth grade’s reading of the “Diary of Anne Frank” in April. It is aligned with Common Core Standards, which promote, among other things, critical thinking skills.

The Los Angeles-based Anti-Defamation League expressed its concerns to Superintendent Islam on Friday. Matthew Friedman, associate regional director of the L.A. office, said in an email:

An exercise asking students to question whether the Holocaust happened has no academic value; it only gives legitimacy to the hateful and anti-Semitic promoters of Holocaust denial.

It is also very dangerous to ask junior high school students to question the reality of the Holocaust on their own, given the sheer volume of denial websites out there. If these questions do come up, it’s better to show the huge preponderance of evidence that’s out there (testimony, documentation, death camp sites, archaeology, etc.) and to also question why people would question the reality of the Holocaust (many motivated not by historical curiosity, but by anti-Semitism). Also, who are the people questioning the Holocaust and what do real historians say? This is more of an issue of teaching good information literacy.

School board member Joe Martinez emailed back the following reply:

One of the most important responsibilities for educators is to develop critical thinking skills in students. “This will allow a person to come to their [sic] own conclusion. Current events are part of the basis for measuring IQ. The Middle East, Israel, Palestine and the Holocaust are on newscasts discussing current events. Teaching how to come to your [sic] own conclusion based on the facts, test your position, be able to articulate that position, then defend your belief with a lucid argument is essential to good citizenship. This thought process creates the foundation for a good education. The progression is within district board policy and also supports the district’s student inspired motto: ‘Today’s Scholars, Tomorrow’s Leaders.’

Jafri insists that Rialto Unified has received no complaints regarding the assignment. She adds: Really 01

There is no doubt the Holocaust was one of the most horrific, traumatic time-pieces in our history. We want our students to engage in developing critical thinking skills and have an in-depth perspective on the importance of the Holocaust. Although I received one email last week in reference to this subject, the district has not received any concerns about this writing prompt from any teachers, administrators or parents. However, due to its sensitive nature, we are always open to go back and examine the [writing] prompt.

Los Angeles ABC affiliate KABC reported yesterday that Jafri has received death threats. If true, that just makes an abominable situation worse.

UPDATE: The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin reports that, following numerous angry calls from parents, “administrators acknowledged the assignment was in poor taste and promised it would not be given again.” (I thought they were not getting any complaints? JB)

In a prepared statement, Syeda Jafri said:

Our interim superintendent will be talking with our Educational Services Department to assure that any references to the Holocaust ‘not occurring’ will be stricken on any current or future Argumentative Research projects.

Russian Strategic Bombers On West Coast: Did They Take Down Los Angeles Air Traffic Control Systems?

With the situation in the Ukraine escalating and the US continuing to call for sanctions against Russia’s financial and political elite, Vladimir Putin is now not only mobilizing tens of thousands of troops on his Western front, but sending intercontinental strategic bombers across the Pacific Ocean. According to the US military, it’s the first time since the cold war that Russia’s incursions have come this close to America.

What’s even more alarming is that Russia is making it clear that any attack on the Motherland would likely lead to widespread bombardment of western interests. Nuclear capable Russian bombers have been spotted all over the world as of late including in Guam, Japan, South Korea and Europe.

Gen. Herbert Carlisle, Commander of United States Air Forces in the Pacific, acknowledged a significant increase in the activities by Russian long-range strategic aircraft flying along the California coast.

There was no comment about whether the aircraft were nuclear capable, but it has not been since the Cold War ended in the early 1990s that Russian patrols have skirted the West Coast and California.

Other than fleets of Russian bombers making passes in close proximity to U.S. interests, the military hasn’t reported anything else out of the ordinary.

Nor did we do anything about this incursion. Red Dawn anyone? JB

But last week something weird happened in Los Angeles and it likely involved a high altitude fly over.

Air traffic controllers at Los Angeles LAX airport reported that their computer systems were overwhelmed and crashed, leading to hundreds of flight delays and cancellations across the country. According to an NBC News investigation the outage was caused by the flyover of a U-2 spy plane. Apparently the 1950′s class spy plane entered LAX airspace at about 60,000 feet and its jamming systems crashed not only the primary air traffic control systems used to monitor and direct commercial airlines, but the back up systems as well.

A U-2 spy plane is being blamed for a software glitch at a Californian air traffic control center which led to delays earlier this week.

According to NBC News, the U-2 was flying at 60,000 feet, but air traffic control computers were attempting to keep it from colliding with planes that were actually miles beneath it.

The computers at the L.A. Center are programmed to keep commercial airliners and other aircraft from colliding with each other.

The spy plane’s altitude and route apparently overloaded a computer system called ERAM, which generates display data for air-traffic controllers. Back-up computer systems also failed

But within days of the original report, disseminated across broadcast networks all over America, the Air Force officially denied that it was a U-2 spy plane, claiming they found the glitch but provided no reason for what caused it:

It’s still not clear why the U-2 flew into the L.A. Center’s airspace, or why it didn’t give advance warning of the flight, as per usual. According to NBC News, the nearby Edwards Air Force Base and NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center (located at Edwards) “have been known to host U-2s.”

But an Edwards rep said no such planes are assigned to Edwards, and a NASA rep said that none of their U-2 planes were flying on Wednesday.

The U.S. Air Force, on the other hand, confirmed that it had sent out a U-2 plane that day — but denied to that the spy plane caused the airport confusion. The Air Force Times has more:

Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren confirmed that there was a U-2 operating in the area. The Air Force “filed all the proper flight plan paperwork … in accordance with all FAA regulations” and was conducting a routine training operation, Warren said. The FAA has issued a statement saying technicians have “resolved the specific issue that triggered the problem,” but the agency did not say what the problem was. FAA spokeswoman Laura Brown declined to comment about whether the U-2 was connected to the computer problems at the control center.

With the revelation this week that Russia has deployed strategic bomber fleets for fly-by’s along our West Coast to gather intelligence and test their capabilities, is it possible that someone flipped a switch to see what would happen?

The Air Force likely knows what caused the outage but refuses to share details, which suggests that either the United States was engaged in a military exercise and they want to keep it under wraps, or, it was the Russians and going public could further inflame the already heated geo-political climate.

Both the United States and Russia have advanced stealth and jamming systems, either of which may have been responsible for the LAX outage. But one particular technology stands out, especially considering that Airforce technicians had to step in to resolve the issue.

The United States, Russia and China have been testing non-nuclear capable electro-magnetic pulse technology that can be deployed either via a missile or a attached to an airplane while it travels in proximity to a particular target. Unlike the nuclear-trigger Super EMP Weapons capable of taking down the electrical infrastructure of an entire country if detonated about 200 miles above the earth’s surface, non-nuclear EMP technology is a line-of-sight weapon that can be directed at a specific city, building or computer system.

In the United States a similar weapon is called CHAMP (High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project ) and is manufactured by Boeing.

We hit every target we wanted to. We prosecuted everyone. Today we made science fiction into science fact.

We took out everything.

Granted, no missile was detected over the United States within the time frame that LAX computers were taken out of service, it’s important to keep in mind that CHAMP, while advanced, is known to everyone and the technology is already at least half a decade old.

It’s certainly possible, and probably likely, that Russia has similar technologies and ones that do not necessarily require a missile to deliver its “payload.”

With bombers flying right along our coast, did Russia take the opportunity to utilize a new advanced technology to target specific components of the air traffic control system, sending it into a frenzy?

Dad Arrested for Speaking Up About Pornographic Content in Required Reading for 9th Graders

A reading assignment has some parents in New Hampshire confused and upset.

The controversial book “Nineteen Minutes” by Jodi Picoult is required reading for some 9th grade students at Gilford High School. The book is a fictional story about a school shooting and has been part of the curriculum since 2007.

The book was assigned to students last Monday, but the school failed to give parents of freshmen students notice of the sexually explicit content in the novel. One page of the book contains a graphic description of rough sex between two teenagers.

Some parents are outraged, and attended a school board meeting to make their feelings known.

William Baer, whose 14-year old daughter is a student at the school, was one of the parents who spoke out at the meeting. He was promptly arrested for doing so: PLEASE SEE THE VIDEO FOR YOURSELF

EAGnews spoke with Baer about the incident, and he explained what made him so upset:

Baer tells EAGnews he became aware of the book’s objectionable material purely by chance. A family friend was visiting last Wednesday and talking to Baer’s 14-year-old daughter about how things were going in school. When she mentioned that she’d just been assigned the novel, the friend picked up the book and casually opened it to page 313 which contains a very graphic description of a sexual encounter between two adolescents. The friend was aghast as he read the passage, and asked Baer if he was aware of the book’s content.

“I was shocked when I read the passage, and not much shocks me anymore,” Baer says. “My wife was stunned by the increasingly graphic nature of the sexual content of the scene and the imagery it evoked.”

Here is an excerpt from the book. We considered omitting it from this article, but, if it is okay for 14 year olds to read…

“‘Relax,’ Matt murmured, and then he sank his teeth into her shoulder. He pinned her hands over her head and ground his hips against hers. She could feel his erection, hot against her stomach.

” … She couldn’t remember ever feeling so heavy, as if her heart were beating between her legs. She clawed at Matt’s back to bring him closer.

“‘Yeah,’ he groaned, and her pushed her thighs apart. And then suddenly Matt was inside her, pumping so hard that she scooted backward on the carpet, burning the backs of her legs. … (H)e clamped his hand over her mouth and drove harder and harder until Josie felt him come.

“Semen, sticky and hot, pooled on the carpet beneath her.”

During an interview with another news outlet, Baer asked them to print that passage:

Baer asked that The Daily Sun print the passage. Otherwise, he expected readers would dismiss his response as that of “an uptight, over-protective, over-reacting parent.”

Editor Ed Engler declined, saying he thought some of the description rendered were not suitable for publication in 99 percent of daily newspapers in America, “Maybe 100 percent”.

Baer noted that the (Manchester) Union-Leader, too, flatly refused to print it, asking “it’s not fit to print, but it’s okay for my daughter to read it and discuss it? My goal is to have everyone in the United States read what’s on page 313 of that book,” he declared, “except my daughter.” (source)

Baer, who is an attorney, told EAGnews that the school “has no business introducing such themes” to students, and questioned why it is acceptable for “the state, through its schools and agents,” to mandate reading and discussing this kind of material.

In a written response to EAGnews, Gilford school leaders admitted they didn’t warn parents of the book’s controversial nature like they have in previous years, and promised to send a letter to the home “of all students who are currently assigned the book.”

It’s a little late now, isn’t it?

Baer suggested that the notice include the passage on page 313:

“If the text were not included, do you know any parent ,or student, for that matter, who could reasonably expect such content to be in a 9th grade assigned book? I think if they put that text in the notice, the vast majority of parents and possibly students would opt out.”

Baer told EAGnews that this is just more evidence that public schools are indoctrinating our children:

Baer believes the politicians and educators running the public school system want to dismantle the family unit, and undermine traditional morality, “though they’re never going to admit this.”

“Many people in education and government truly believe our children are theirs. That parents are only the custodians who feed them and put a roof over their head. These school incidents are a byproduct of this ‘we know best’ philosophy. They believe they have the authority to do this. If people were more complacent, which is hard to imagine, it’d be even worse.”

He’s right. Earlier this year, Paul Reville, the former secretary of education for Massachusetts and a Common Core supporter, spoke at a panel in support of the curriculum:

He shared his thoughts on opponents of the curriculum, stating that critics were a “tiny minority” who opposed standards altogether, which was unfair because “the children belong to all of us.”

The incident at Gilford isn’t unique: reading assignments that contain pornographic material seem to be more and more of a “normal” occurrence, especially since the introduction of Common Core curriculum in schools.

In his article Sex and the Public Schools, Michael Snyder discusses ways schools are sexualizing our children at younger and younger ages. Some public schools are mandating sex education for kindergarteners. Earlier this year, a middle school in Kansas decided that adding anal sex, oral sex, and touching were appropriate topics to add to their health class curriculum.Really 01

Speaker of the House John Boehner announced on Monday that Congressman Trey Gowdy will be heading up the investigative committee dedicated to getting to the bottom of the Benghazi terrorist attack and the emails that illustrate a cover-up at the highest levels of the executive branch.

Of course, while Tea Partiers are thrilled that the bold South Carolina Republican prosecutor will be handling the committee, Democrats appear displeased as they continue to circle the wagons around President Obama, Hillary’s State Department and the conspiracy they created to escape accountability.

In short: Democrats are scared and they should be.

Though it appears painfully obvious that the chief concerns of the White House in the earliest days after the terrorists murdered four Americans was centered on media damage control, Democrats continue to maintain the most absurd of narratives: that the emails talking about Benghazi were not, in fact, talking about Benghazi.

It seems, however, that Democrats have moved on to the next phase of their denials: they are now lashing out at those who dare to question the official version of events.
A senior staffer to a Democrat House member spoke to the Daily Mail that Tea Party House members- “Tea baggers,” Hateas he called them – were flailing in an attempt to tarnish the legacy of Barack Obama.
Believe me, President Obama is tarnishing his own legacy.
“We’ll have about five months to watch the tea baggersHate flail and flop around, and try to make this a November election issue,” the staffer said, wishing to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak publicly about it.
 
“After that, no one’s going to care that much anymore, including the Darrell Issas of the world. They’re just in it to hurt the president and take back the Senate,” the staffer continued.
It is as brave as it is classy to call conservatives “tea baggers” while cowardly hiding behind the veil of anonymity.Hate
This is, sadly, the kind of rhetoric we’ve been reduced to in politics. As I’ve claimed many times, Benghazi shouldn’t be considered a partisan issue; four Americans died and the cover-up, regardless of political affiliation, ought to enrage each and every American.
 
Instead, we are treated to these kinds of flippant insults and attempts to distract from the massive failures of leadership.

“I abducted your girls. I will sell them in the market, by Allah,” says the leader of the terrorist group Boko Haram, in a video on Monday admitting that he is responsible for the kidnapping of over 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria. 

“There is a market for selling humans. Allah says I should sell. He commands me to sell,” said the man who describes himself as Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, in a video obtained by Agence France-Presse and translated by CNN.

Marie Harf, a U.S. State Department spokeswoman, said that the video “does appear legitimate.”

The name of the terrorist group  “Boko Haram” means “Western education is a sin.” Shekau calls for the end of Western education repeatedly in the nearly hour long video.

On Friday, authorities put the official number of kidnapped girls as 276, although 53 of those reportedly have escaped.

Terrorism is on the rise across Africa as global terror groups, including al-Qaeda affiliates, continue to overtake local insurgent organizations and transform them into regional and international threats.

The National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad began as a local movement in Northern Mali, but was successfully overtaken by The National Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa and  al-Qaeda In the Islamic Maghreb, threatening countries and even entire regions. . Last year, the situation became so dire in Mali that the French led a military intervention from which the country continues to recover.

According to the State Department’s recently released “Country Reports on Terrorism 2013,” al-Shabaab, a Somali-based and now al-Qaida-linked group, continues to carry out attacks and threaten governments in Somalia and in countries, such as Kenya and Uganda, that support AMISOM – the African Union’s anti-terror military force. Last Fall al-Shabaab carried out a deadly attack on the Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya, and demanded Kenya withdraw its defense forces from Somalia. Because of al-Shabaab’s increased regional focus, East African governments are enhancing “domestic and regional efforts to bolster border security and create integrated and dedicated counterterrorism strategies” – efforts  the United States should continue to support.

The United States needs to take seriously the rising levels of extremism and terrorist activity in Africa. The State Department’s recently released “Country Reports on Terrorism 2013”  highlighted the  “significant levels of terrorist activity” Africa experienced in 2013”  and emphasized the increased aggressiveness of al-Qaida affiliates and like-minded groups in Northwest Africa and Somalia.

Across the continent in West Africa, Boko Haram “maintained a high operational tempo in 2013 and carried out kidnappings, killings, bombings and attacks on civilian and military targets in northern Nigeria, resulting in numerous deaths, injuries and destruction of property in 2013.” As recently as last week, this group staged a car bomb attack in the capital, Abuja. Spillover violence in Chad, Niger and Cameroon is equally disturbing given the porous borders and large swathes of ungoverned space in the region.

Ungoverned space also enables al-Qaeda-linked groups in North Africa and the Sahel, such as Ansar al-Sharia and AQIM to operate freely, causing problems for the governments of Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria.

This year likely will see an even greater increase in terrorism in Africa as vulnerable Muslim refugees flee the Central African Republic because of violent sectarian conflict. As the situation in CAR continues to break down, ungoverned and lawless space also will increase terrorist operating space. The breakdown of South Sudan ensures even more weapons will spread across the region.

Given the evolving threat of al-Qaeda and the new wave of global terrorism, U.S. security partnerships and engagement with African governments will become even more important in the fight against global terrorism.

As a 14-year-old boy, Dave Hickman found an infant girl in a woods. On Sunday afternoon he was reunited with her. Hickman found a baby in the woods while hunting in 1955. Hickman spent the next 58 years trying to track her down.

Here’s what happened:

About 50 family, friends and well-wishers watched as Hickman, now living in Vonore, Tenn., walked into Mitrione’s Rosemary Room and into the arms of Ellen Suey, the woman whose life Hickman saved Sept. 22, 1955.

“I’ve been waiting for this for 58 years,” Hickman said as he looked into her eyes, rubbed her shoulders and fought back tears.

“You’re my hero,” said Suey, who now lives in Riverside, Calif. “This is amazing.”

davehickman2Hickman was clearly at a loss for words before Suey smiled and said, ‘This is the part where you say, ‘You look so different.’”

Hickman was hunting with his grandfather, Clay Smith, in a woods along Indiana 122, west of Boston, when he investigated an odd cooing sound. He walked 100 yards and suddenly saw a baby laying in a pile of brush. He and his grandfather called the sheriff and the baby was taken to Reid Hospital.

The child was named Roseann Wayne and was adopted by a couple who soon left the area.

Hickman had been searching for her for years. In December 2013, he contacted former Wayne County commissioner, councilman and sheriff John Catey.

Catey turned the search into a personal mission, interviewing more than 75 people and looking up records at the Wayne County Courthouse, Morrisson-Reeves Library and online before finding Ellen Suey in California.

It would be easy to begin writing an article aimed at the abject failure of gun control. But, truthfully, Chicago’s failure goes far deeper than misguided (Bloomberg approved) regulation schemes. Since the days of Bill Thompson came to an end (nearly 80 years ago) the Democrats have had a monopoly on efforts to fix violence, gang activity, and inequality in the Windy City. And if you’re thinking, “It doesn’t seem to be working”… Well, you’d be right.

Even Chicago’s Police Superintendent seems to understand this (to an extent). Of course, being the good progressive that he is, he glossed right over the primary culprits for Chicago’s woes and instead focused on disarming the law-abiding citizens he has sworn to protect. Via WGN radio:

It’s going to take a while to fix poverty and the breakup of the family unit, and education and jobs. But we can do something about gun laws today and we’re just not doing it.

Right… Because that’s the problem with Chicago: Too little gun control. I mean, heck, it hasn’t exactly worked out that well so far, but why not double down? Right? The fact is, the failure of Liberalism has brought the city to its current state of deterioration. The Chicago model of unconstitutional restrictions on keeping and bearing arms has done little more than add fuel to the fire. Politicians, meanwhile, have been more than happy to ignore the easily identifiable, but politically tricky, origins of gang violence, and criminal activity.

(Let’s make sure we understand this lunacy. Disarm law abiding citizens, while criminals gain more gun fire power. Why not just euthanize all the citizens? Seems to me that might be easier, more kind and less expensive. I’m sure the criminals vote democrat, RIGHT?  JB)

Despite embracing the union-lead concept of public education, nearly 80 percent of the city’s 8th graders aren’t proficient in reading and writing. And while schools are going without heat, electricity, or (in some cases) adequate security, teachers make a salary that is more than $10,000 higher than the median Chicago household’s income. Being one of the best funded education systems in America, it borders on audacious absurdity when the unions start crying about not having enough resources. Especially when you consider the way Democrats are on course to spend the city into being the next Detroit.

Of course, all that tax revenue and debt was being used for a good cause, right? Wasn’t that deficit spending, borrowing, and begging from the State and Federal Government (as well as the general public) supposed to help fund anti-poverty programs, and create “shovel ready” jobs? Because, if that was the case, it seems kinda curious that Chicago has some uncomfortably high poverty rates when compared to other large US Cities. This almost seems like a silly thing to ask, but: Hey Democrats, maybe we could try something new?

With an education system that has utterly failed inner city youth, and anti-poverty programs that have done little more than spur an exodus of private capital, it’s unsurprising to see violence sweep areas of Chicago like an epidemic… Especially when the “progressives” downtown have managed to disarm most of the remaining law-abiding citizens.

The lesson of Chicago is rather simple: Progressivism can’t provide for the poor. Progressivism can’t provide the masses with quality education, healthcare, or housing. And, Progressivism can’t keep its people safe. While Democrats have taxed, spent, and regulated with relative impunity, Chicago continues to suffer misery and inequality on scales rarely matched by other US cities.

Chicago Democrat politicians continue to repackage, and resell, to the city’s voters the very policy proposals that helped create their current plight. I often say that Progressives haven’t had a new idea in roughly 100 years (seriously: Healthcare, tax hikes, deficit spending… it’s all been tried), and Chicago is a prime example of progressive monopoly in government. Each new administration promised its citizens the same policies as the previous administration, with “new and improved” projected results.

The only thing closer to Einstein’s definition of insanity, was America’s decision to elect a politician from that city to be President of the United States… Twice.

A narrow Supreme Court decision on Monday has been hailed as a big win for religious freedom, as reported by Reuters:

In a decision that is likely to guide how local governments throughout the United States handle the question, the court said on a 5-4 vote that officials in the town of Greece did not violate the law when picking prayer-givers, who were overwhelmingly Christian.

Even the plaintiffs challenging the practice in Greece, a Rochester, New York, suburb of 100,000 people, conceded that some types of nonsectarian prayers are permitted under the Constitution. The difficulty facing the justices was how to decide how courts should consider when a prayer could violate the First Amendment calling for separation of church and state.

The court was divided along ideological lines, with the conservative wing of the court saying the prayers were acceptable, while the liberal justices said the practice violated the First Amendment.

Justice Anthony Kennedy, the court’s swing vote, wrote the majority opinion, saying that the town’s prayers are consistent with the high court’s 1983 precedent in a case called Marsh v. Chambers. That case allowed prayers before legislative sessions based in large part on the historical nature of the practice.

Although the policy in the town of Greece does not embrace a particular religion, in practice all members of the public who gave a prayer were Christians until some residents filed suit in 2008.

Kennedy wrote that public prayers need not be nonsectarian.

“To hold that invocations must be nonsectarian would force the legislatures that sponsor prayers and the courts that are asked to decide these cases to act as supervisors and censors of religious speech,” Kennedy wrote.

An awful lot of these epochal decisions boil down to a battle for the heart and soul of Swing Justice Anthony Kennedy (that really should be his official title) but his reasoning here seems sound enough.  The path of least government intrusion against religious freedom clearly lay with overturning the appeals court decision against the town of Greece, whose prayers before meetings clearly did not constitution the government’s establishment of an official religion.

As the Supreme Court’s decision notes, the prayers at these town hall meetings were “given by clergy selected from the congregations listed in a local directory,” and while the program was officially open to all creeds, “nearly all of the local congregations are Christian; thus nearly all of the participating prayer givers have been too.”  In his concurring opinion, Justice Samuel Alito notes that even if the town of Greece is lumped in with its entire county, which includes the city of Rochester, only 3 percent of county residents with a listed religious affiliation proclaim themselves to be Jewish, “and for other non-Christian faiths, the percentages are smaller.”

Kennedy points out that the district court ruling overturned by the Supremes “found no authority for the proposition that the First Amendment required Greece to invite clergy from congregations beyond its borders in order to achieve a minimum level of religious diversity.”

Alito mildly chastises the town council of Greece for not reaching a bit outside its boundaries to include the Rochester synagogues where its Jewish residents worship on the list of invited clergy, but he characterizes this as the sort of very minor complaint upon which much of the Court minority’s dissent rests.  He also writes of the difficulty in designing a truly “non-sectarian” prayer that would be completely acceptable to the members of every religion practiced in the United States, whose very diversity and inclusiveness make its religious tapestry a most complicated and colorful weave.  It is perverse to suppose that the First Amendment should then be interpreted as a gag order against speech the government decides is not sufficiently diverse.

In other words, there is nothing structurally exclusionary about the program, and the Court majority observed that it was not oppressive against non-Christians in practice:

The prayer opportunity is evaluated against the backdrop of a historical practice showing that prayer has become part of the Nation’s heritage and tradition.  It is presumed that the reasonable observer is acquainted with this tradition and understands that its purposes are to lend gravity to public proceedings and to acknowledge the place religion holds in the lives of many private citizens.

Furthermore, the principal audience for these invocations ins not the public, but the lawmakers themselves.  And those lawmakers did not direct the public to participate, single out dissidents for opprobrium, or indicate that their decisions might be influenced by a person’s acquiescence in the prayer opportunity.  Respondents claim that the prayers gave them offense and made them feel excluded and disrespected, but offense does not equate to coercion.

That sounds like a slap against the entire modern culture of hyper-sensitivity, in which “offense” is entirely in the mind of the offended.  It doesn’t matter what the speaker means, or what the historical context of his speech might be, if someone with a bit of political or legal pull declares themselves insulted, and calls for silence.

This is also a decidedly “conservative” decision, given the emphasis it puts upon historical precedent and common-sense understanding.  Justice Alito, who observed that the authors of the First Amendment certainly didn’t seem to think chaplains offering prayers at the beginning of legislative sessions were a violation of it, pronounced himself “troubled by the message that some readers may take from the principal dissent’s rhetoric and its highly imaginative proposals” – in other words, the liberal justices’ tendency to cook up fanciful scenarios that have nothing to do with practices in the town of Greece, or anywhere else in America, such as a polling place conveying “the expectation that citizens wishing to vote make the sign of the cross before casting their ballots.”

Alito worried that some will interpret the liberal justices’ dissent as a warning that Monday’s decision would lead “to a country in which religious minorities are denied the equal benefits of citizenship,” a train of thought he described as going “far astray” from what the majority actually ruled.  That’s another rebuke to the cult of perpetual outrage and its insistence that American society should be fenced in until there are no more hiding places for their bugbears and hobgoblins.

Pelosi, who has said that passing amnesty legislation would be more important to her than becoming Speaker again, said “the time is now for comprehensive immigration reform” and for “House Republicans to emulate the bravery demonstrated in the Battle of Puebla, recognize the importance of immigrants and family unification, and give us a vote on a comprehensive bill that reforms our broken immigration system.”

“As we look back on a seminal moment in history, let us also look forward to the best ways we can continue to embrace the diverse heritage and rich history of Latinos in the United States,” Pelosi said in a statement. “There is no better way to acknowledge the important contributions to our country of America’s Latino community than by enacting comprehensive immigration reform.”Really 01

Even though the Congressional Budget Office has determined that amnesty legislation would lower the wages of American workers and detrimentally impact Hispanics on the lower end of the economic ladder, Democrats and Republicans backed by big-business and the high-tech industry have been relentless in advocating for sweeping amnesty legislation.

Pro-amnesty advocates like Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Luis Gutierrez (R-IL) have said that this year is the last chance to pass a significant amnesty bill. GOP Conference Chair Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers recently indicated that Republican leaders will try to bring legislation to the floor in August while Schumer has said he believes amnesty legislation could passed in “June or July.” Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) has indicated that there is a “grand bargain” that is in the works in the coming months on possible amnesty legislation.

During his Weekly Address, Barack Obama promised to continue his dictatorial style rule of America, vowing to go around Congress and the system of government that our Founders put in place if Republicans don’t give him exactly what he wants. (watch video below)

Apparently forgetting that America is not a dictatorship and the job of Congress is not to be yes-men to him, Obama chastised Republicans, also forgetting that the failure of his jobs bill was due to bi-partisan opposition.

 “[W]e could do a lot more if Republicans in Congress were less interested in stacking the deck in favor of those at the top, and more interested in growing the economy for everybody. They’ve now voted more than 50 times to take apart the Affordable Care Act – imagine if they voted 50 times on serious jobs bills.”

Obama then went full-fledged dictator boldly proclaiming that he will accomplish his Marxist based agenda to fundamentally transform America using whatever means necessary.

“That’s why I’m going to take action on my own wherever I can. To grow our economy from the middle out, not the top down. To give every American who works hard a chance to get ahead.”

While he didn’t use his “I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone” mantra, his vow was definitely reminiscent of previous threats he’s made to act unilaterally and unconstitutionally if he doesn’t get his way.

Judge Jeanine calls out not only Obama, but several of the other major players who, rather than seek answers and justice about the terrorist attack at Benghazi on September 11, 2012, sought to cover-up the truth about the attack to protect Obama’s re-election chances.

She calls not only calls Obama out for his lies, deception, and hypocrisy, but she questions just where his loyalty lies.

To add insult to injury, you (Obama) condemn anyone who says something negative about Islam. Mr. President, it’s not about them, it’s about us! You represent us! You’re supposed to protect us! And, instead of condemning the terrorists, you criticize free speech. I don’t even think you believe in the First Amendment, and you’re certainly not a man of your word.

In one of her most powerful statements, she says with Obama’s use of what happened at Benghazi to attack free speech, “Before our eyes, the terrorists become the victims and the American victims become irrelevant.”

In true Judge Jeanine fashion, she holds nothing back as she calls for the impeachment of Barack Obama for dereliction of duty, stonewalling Congress, and caring more about his re-election than he did about protecting Americans.

Mr. President, it’s called an abrogation of duty. You have not taken your oath to honestly and faithfully execute the duties of your office. As commander in chief, you have not protected us.

This dereliction of duty as commander in chief demands your impeachment. Your cover-up was for political advantage. The promotion thereafter virtually everyone involved in your conspiracy. And the stonewalling of Congress, the denying of access to key witnesses, all add up to a classic cover-up. And what’s that? You were elected? There is no contract with someone who thinks that the American people are nothing more than pawns in an all-consuming power play to change who we are as a nation. You swore to protect and defend the American people, but instead you left Americans to die, not lifting a finger to help them.

Mr. President, none of us want to believe that our president would let Americans die, but the arrogance, the failure to act, the lies, the cover-up make it clear that you, Mr. President, have defrauded the American people. You, Mr. President, have violated your constitutional oath. You have not faithfully executed your duties in the Office of the President. 

Fraud and deception in a quest for power – that about sums up the Obama presidency which should be brought to an end with his impeachment.

Detroit Woman Glad She Had Just Bought a Gun After What Happened to Her

A 50-year-old Detroit resident was advised by her brother to get a concealed carry permit and to buy a gun for her protection, as he advised all of his nine sisters to do. She was reluctant, because she didn’t ever want to have to use it to hurt or kill someone, but she took her brother’s advise. That was about a year ago.

Recently, that gun came in handy when someone was trying to break in her house with a crowbar. The intruder went all around the house until he found a window with no bars protecting it, and then he smashed in the window to get in.

The unnamed Detroit woman grabbed her gun and called 911. While she was on the phone with the dispatcher, she yelled at the guy, warning him that she was armed and that she would shoot if he didn’t leave. He didn’t care. He had nothing to fear, because he knew that Detroit was mostly a gun-free zone. At least that’s what he probably thought.

Seeing that the intruder had made his way in despite her warnings, the Detroit homeowner shot him once, wounding him in the arm. He was taken to the hospital after police arrived. 

Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more of these types of incidents in Detroit. They vindicate what Detroit’s new police chief has been saying ever since he assumed that office. He actually encouraged homeowners to buy a gun for protection against criminals like the one in the story above, because the police won’t be able to come to everyone’s aid “when seconds count.” It’s no coincidence that ever since Police Chief James Craig came to Detroit, their self-defense shootings have gone up, and their criminal homicides and violent crime rates have gone down.

Perry wants to raise the ‘maximum wage’

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) said on Sunday he is focused on raising the “maximum wage” for workers in the Lone Star State.
“We focus on the maximum wage rather than the minimum wage,” Perry said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

“Ninety-five percent of all the jobs that were created in my home state were above the minimum wage,” he added. “So, the idea that you should be focused on the minimum wage, when in fact, you should be focused on policies that create this environment where jobs can be created.”

Perry’s comments come as the Obama administration and Democratic lawmakers have been pushing a bill that would raise the national minimum wage to $10.10 an hour from the current $7.25. Some states already have minimum wages that are higher than this, but many follow the national standard.

Democrats argue that $7.25 an hour is not a livable wage for many people around the country.

But Perry called it an “easy political line” that distracts from the issue of job creation.

“I think it’s an easy political line to pitch out and say, ‘I’m for raising the minimum wage,’ ” Perry said. “We’re looking past that in Texas from the standpoint of, ‘How do we create the maximum wage available? How do we put more people into the workforce?’ ”

“Almost a third of all the jobs created in America in the last decade were created in the state of Texas,” he added. “That’s where the focus should be.”

Perry said the Obama administration should look to create jobs through more business-friendly tax and regulatory policies.

“The policies that allow for job creation are really pretty simple,” he said. “It’s tax policy, it’s regulatory policy, it’s a legal system that doesn’t allow for over suing.”

Yesterday in Odessa, Ukraine, more than 30 anti-Kiev protesters were burned alive, as a US-backed pro-Kiev mob set fire to the trade union building into which they ran to escape the pro-Kiev crowd. It was the largest loss of life in Ukraine since the US-backed coup in February, and it may well be a turning point in the east versus west struggle that ensued.

The pictures from the scene were ghastly (warning: graphic), as desperate protesters tried to claw their way out of the building as they were burned alive. Also ghastly were the photos of the young girls happily making the molotov cocktails that were thrown into the building.

More ghastly still, was the US media coverage of the savage event. Even when 25 minutes video available clearly demonstrated what happened in Odessa, clearly demonstrated who was responsible for the incineration of unarmed protesters, the US media all hewed to the State Department line that pointedly refused to pin any blame on the pro-Kiev mob supported by Washington. Said the State Department release:

“The events in Odesa that led to the deadly fire in the Trade Union Building dramatically underscore the need for an immediate de-escalation of tensions in Ukraine. The violence and efforts to destabilize the country must end.” Really 01

Contrast this to US government’s very different position when violence broke out in Kiev in February: even as evidence pointed to much violence committed by the protesters, the US nevertheless blamed the then-Yanukovich government exclusively.

Double standards.

And the US media was not far behind the State Department in its Odessa spin.

According to the Los Angeles Times:

“Thirty of the victims died of smoke inhalation after a fire was set in the central trade union building, where pro-Russia separatists reportedly had taken up sniper positions to fire on pro-unity demonstrators.”

LA Times spins it like burning more than 30 protesters alive was a purely defensive measure. But if they were all snipers, why did they not shoot their way out?

In lock-step with the State Department, the NY Daily News reported that:

“…for reasons still unclear, a fire broke out in a trade union building and the death toll started to climb.”

This even though their own article features a photo of a pro-Kiev protester tossing a firebomb into the building!

As to be expected, the New York Times followed the State Department line of avoiding any real reporting that might damage the US-backed regime in Kiev, preferring to present the act of mass murder as some sort of tragic accident:

There are too many more examples of the US media’s lock-step reporting on this event to cover here.

But even the virulently anti-Russian and pro-Kiev Kyiv Post could get the basic reporting correct:

A mob shouted “Glory to Ukraine” and “Death to enemies” as the building burned with people inside.

That makes it pretty clear who did the torching and who did the dying.

Continued the Kyiv Post:

Photographs circulating on Twitter and Facebook show people – some presumably in their teens – mixing explosive concoctions in discarded beer bottles before lobbing them into the building.

Why did the US media not report any of this? Because they did not want the American public to see any possibility other than the US government official line, which is that the post-coup government in Kiev and its supporters represent the legitimate and democratic will of the people and anyone who protests against that government or its supporters is a Russian agent and a terrorist.

The US mainstream media marches lock-step with the US government, even to the point of covering up a most vile mass murder. It is only alternative sources and networks like RT (and RPI) that dare to cross the State Department line.

No wonder the US State Department has declared war on RT.

Students in a California school district will not be allowed to wear American flag T-shirts on Cinco de Mayo, due to concerns that such displays of patriotism would inflame racial tensions by offending Mexican students on their holiday.

Let me get this straight. American born children, cannot express patriotism during an “IN-YOUR-FACE” celebration of a holiday in a foreign country, where these students, who many are here illegally, are from? In addition to that, you’re telling me that it is  far more important NOT to offend the Mexican students, but it is okay to offend native born Americans? REALLY?????? JB

The district’s policy concerned many free speech advocates, but was upheld by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In response, Tea Party groups plan to protest outside Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill. And they will be wearing American flag T-shirts. (RELATED: Latino student group says eating tacos is offensive to Mexicans)

“They silenced a symbol of patriotism and freedom in America,” said Georgine Scott-Codiga, president of the Gillroy-Morgan Hill Patriots, in a statement to KCBS.

The trouble dates back to Cinco de Mayo in 2010, when the school forced four students to remove their American flag T-shirts. Administrators worried that fighting would break out between white and Latino students if the shirts were noticed, and so the four offending students were sent home.

The practice of limiting one group’s free speech rights because that speech might cause another group to react violently is known as the “heckler’s veto.” It is understood by free speech enthusiasts to have a chilling effect on First Amendment rights. The Ninth Circuit, however, ruled in February that the school was legally permitted to abridge white students’ free speech rights in service of Latino students’ feelings. “The freedom of worship” has become another mindless and meaningless mantra of the Left. By this, they mean to banish faith to our hearts, homes and houses of worship. Aside from the glaring flaws associated with such a limited understanding of our First Amendment religious protections, a recent incident has revealed that even this dangerously narrow view is under assault.

Michael Beck, City Manager in Pasadena, California, announced Thursday that Public Health Director Dr. Eric Walshhad been placed indefinitely on paid administrative leavefollowing the discovery of online videos of sermons that Walsh had preached, whichwere consideredto be critical of homosexuality, Islam and evolution.

Dr. Eric Walsh has been placed on temporary paid administrative leave to provide the city of Pasadena the opportunity to complete an inquiry into statements made by him in his private capacity and to assess the impact those statements might have on his ability to effectively lead the city’s Public Health Department. The Public Health Department remains a strong and vital part of the city of Pasadena organization and remains dedicated to protecting the health and wellness of our entire community.
Also at issue is the fact that politicians and other public servants are not required to adhere to a religious test as a requirement for holding office. Article VI, Paragraph 3 of the U.S. Constitution states that “no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States,” and the Supreme Court has held that many such provisions also apply to the states. However, the secular Left and the homofascist movement have currently become the greatest risk to liberty in this country. And if a person can be punished for what they say or preach in church, then what about the Left’s so-called “freedom of worship?”
Evidently, even this erroneously restrictive understanding of the First Amendment is no longer safe from the attacks of the extreme Left. So, it will be quite interesting to see how this situation ultimately plays out.
In one sermon, Walsh preached on the subject of moral relativism, calling it a “doctrine from the pit of hell” which has led to society’s approval of homosexuality. In addition to his views on homosexuality, Walsh also referred to the theory of evolution a “satanic religion” and the prophet Muhammad as a “satanist.”

Members of the Pasadena community were shocked by the discovery of these sermons. Dr. Walsh previously spoke at the All Saints Church, where Pasadena’s first sodomy-based “marriage” occurred, and at the 2012 Pasadena Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. On both of those occasions, Walsh praised Pasadena’s multicultural community, which some consider to be in direct conflict with the content of his sermons. However, it could also be argued that people were so surprised by this recent revelation because Dr. Walsh has been able to successfully separate his religious beliefs from his responsibilities as public health director. In other words, his pastoral duties have had no noticeable, negative impact on the execution of his public office, and Dr. Walsh should not be punished for the expression of his faith within the confines of his church.
The reactions from the homosexual community have been mixed. There are those who would like to see Walsh punished. AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein has said that Dr. Walsh’s statements are cause to exclude him from public office.
“Public health is an extremely sensitive matter,” Weinstein explained, “and it really relies on the trust of the population served and because Pasadena is particularly impacted by diseases that affect the LGBT community. I think he’s not qualified to be public health director with those views.
”However, Aaron Saenz, President of San Gabriel Valley Pride, disagrees. Saenz has stated that although he disagree with the views of Dr. Walsh, he has not seen any evidence that it has negatively affected his job performance.
Saenz said, “I feel from the research I know I don’t think it affected his work. I think those are just his personal views however he chose to share them and that’s on him.
”Other City Council members have openly defended Walsh, citing his help in setting up the Michael Antonovich Dental Clinic for HIV positive patients. Councilman Terry Tornek has expressed his feelings regarding the situation, “I’m distraught, is the truth. I think very highly of Dr. Walsh. I think he has been doing as near as I can tell a terrific job. Nothing has changed in terms of my personal observation or my assessment of Dr. Walsh’s performance, and I think the Health Department has been headed in the right direction, and we are proud of it and he has worked wonders.
”The decision to suspend Walsh came only days after he voluntarily withdrew himself as the commencement speaker for Pasadena City College.

Let’s hope that political correctness doesn’t destroy yet another good man.

Each State to be protected. The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union, a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened), against domestic violence. — United States Constitution Article 4, Section 4

Our country is a Constitutional Republic, not a Constitutional Democracy, however, Barack Obama continually calls it a constitutional democracy and did so again today during a press conference with Angela Merkel. Listen:

He has a purpose in doing so.

The country is being fundamentally transformed from a constitutional republic into a constitutional democracy. The difference between the two is the difference between the United States as it was established and present-day Europe.

Constitutional democracies do not have the safeguards of the separation of powers and states’ rights.

Democracy is an unbridled mobocracy. It is the tyranny of the mob. The constitution limits that but in the United States, we have other safeguards that limit the power of government and the power of the mob. The safeguards are the separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches and the separation of the individual states from the federal government.

These are under serious attack by Obama and his minions.

A pure unbridled democracy is a political system in which the majority enjoys absolute power by means of democratic elections. In an unvarnished democracy, unrestrained by a constitution, the majority can vote to impose tyranny on themselves and the minority opposition. They can vote to elect those who will infringe upon our inalienable God-given rights. They are described by Thomas Jefferson as elected despots.

Zero Tolerance VoteA Republic prevents mob rule. You don’t have to wait for thousands or millions of people to make a decision because you have elected representatives who can make the decisions plus there are safeguards built into it.

Democrats like to call the United States a democracy because it enhances the very name of their party.

This is the correct definition of a constitutional democracy which was once similar to a republic:

“Constitutional democracy is a system of government in which (1) political authority–i.e., the power of government–is defined, limited, and distributed by a body of fundamental law called “the Constitution” and (2) the electorate–the general voting populace `within the political society–has effective means of (a) controlling the elected representatives in the government and (h) holding them accountable (responsible, or answerable) for their decisions and actions while in public office.”

This is how many Democrats define it now:

“A constitutional democracy is a government under law in which coalition and majority rule is balanced by minority and individual rights, and in which most rights are balanced by responsibilities – including the responsibility of each citizen to study the history of constitutional government in order to illuminate it in ways that no definition ever can … and in order, thereby, to allow it to evolve further in light of ancient wisdoms and the needs of our evolving global civilization.”

This definition gets us away from the rule of law. Once you can make decisions based on what someone thinks is a responsibility or what another person thinks conforms to an evolving civilization, you move towards anarchy.

In the second definition, we have to evolve to incorporate globalism which blurs the lines of our constitution and our sovereignty. It VOTEquickly erases states’ rights and state sovereignty. It also demeans the power of Congress and SCOTUS.

The Founders were knowledgeable about democracy and they feared a democracy as much as a monarchy. They understood that the only entity that can take away the people’s freedom is their own government, either by being too weak to protect them from external threats or by becoming too powerful and taking over every aspect of life.

They knew very well the meaning of the word “democracy”, and the history of democracies; and they were deliberately doing everything in their power to prevent the United States from becoming a democracy.

In a Republic, the sovereignty resides with the people themselves. In a Republic, one may act on his own or through his representatives when he chooses to solve a problem. The people have no obligation to the government; instead, the government is a servant of the people, and obliged to its ruler – We the People.

A Constitutional Republic has some similarities to democracy in that it uses democratic processes to elect representatives and pass new laws, etc. The critical difference lies in the fact that a Constitutional Republic has a non-evolving Constitution that limits the powers of the government. The Constitution can only be amended. It also spells out how the government is structured, creating checks on its power and balancing power between the different branches.

The goal of a Constitutional Republic is to avoid the dangerous extreme of either tyranny or mobocracy. It also emphasizes the checks and balances provided by giving certain rights to the states, rights which Barack Obama is continually usurping.

President Obama will not enforce immigration law. When Arizona attempted to protect itself from illegal immigration, the federal government sued them and stopped them in their tracks. When states try to pass voter ID laws, the federal government steps in. The federal government lost on the issue of voter ID’s at the Supreme Court so now the DOJ is suing individual states that attempt to require ID’s for voter registration. There are many other examples of President Obama usurping states’ rights.

Mr. Obama continually states that he is and he will continue to usurp the power of congress if they fail to act according to his dictates. He said it again Friday in his joint press conference with Angela Merkel. No one seems to care. Is this what so many before us sacrificed for?

Alexander Hamilton, Federalist Papers: We are a Republican Government, Real liberty is never found in despotism or in the extremes of democracy…it has been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. May Primaries Are Consequential

primariesVOTEThis merry month of May 12 states are holding primaries. The stakes are very high and could be quite consequential. There will definitely be changes to who is elected to seats in the House and Senate. The primaries include elections for 3 open US Senate seats in Georgia, Nebraska, and West Virginia. They also include elections for 11 open US House seats. These seats include Arkansas 2nd and 4th, Georgia 1st, 10th and 11th, North Carolina 6th and 7th, Pennsylvania 6th and 13th, Texas 36th, and West Virginia 2nd. More difficult, but delicious to consider, are the GOP incumbents who have a serious challenger in their primary.

Starting on Tuesday, May 6th are primaries in Indiana, North Carolina, and Ohio. Indiana and Ohio have no open US House seats or US Senate seats. The highest profile contest is Speaker Boehner in Ohio 8th. Another contest to take note of is in Ohio 14th where incumbent David Joyce has a serious challenger, Matt Lynch, who is receiving support from FreedomWorks. North Carolina has two open US House seats and a US Senate seat, and many candidates vying for the GOP nomination for US Senate. There will most likely be a July 15th runoff for the GOP senate nomination unless one candidate receives 40% of the vote in the primary. The immigration issue may loom large in North Carolina. The incumbent, Renee Ellmers, in North Carolina 2nd, is backed by Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, and she faces a serious challenger, Frank Roche, who has a different position than her on immigration and the support of Richard Viguerie group, Conservative HQ. Thom Tillis, US Senate candidate, is supported by Jeb Bush, and candidate Dr. Greg Brannon is supported by FreedomWorks, Senator Mike Lee, and Senator Rand Paul.

On Tuesday, May 13th there are primaries in Nebraska and West Virginia. Nebraska and West Virginia both have an open Senate seat. There are no runoff primaries in these states. Nebraska GOP House incumbents all have primary challengers, but none of the challengers have big money supporters. The GOP incumbent in West Virginia’s 1st has no primary challenger. The contest getting the most attention is the Nebraska GOP Senate race between Ben Sasse and Shane Osborn.

Zero Tolerance VoteOn Tuesday, May 20th there are primaries in Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Oregon, and Pennsylvania. The most watched contest will the the Kentucky GOP primary contest between Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Matt Bevins. Matt Bevins is supported by FreedomWorks and Madison Project. The GOP incumbent, Mike Simpson, in Idaho 2nd has a serious primary challenger, Bryan Smith. Bryan Smith is supported by Freedom Works, Madison Project, and Conservative HQ. The GOP incumbent, Bill Shuster, in Pennsylvania 9th has a serious primary challenger, Art Halvorson. Art Halvorson is supported by Madison Project.

On Tuesday, May 27th there is a runoff primary in Texas for the 4th congressional district between incumbent GOP Ralph Hall and challenger John Ratcliffe. Age may be a consideration for the voters in this district. Ralph Hall is 91 and John Ratcliffe is 48.

If you live in one of these 12 states then please do not succumb to apathy and indifference. Stop sitting on the couch watching and waiting for the latest soap-opera script that has replaced news and get to the polls to vote. Bring like-minded voters along with you. Your vote does matter. We can’t allow Facebook billionaire Mark Zuckerberg and Jeb Bush to choose the GOP nominees. Conservatives can win nominations if enough voters participate in the primaries.

And there are a lot of reporters who will discount Benghazi simply because of who is interested in it. For example, Fox is interested in it and it automatically is nothing. If I’m interested in it it doesn’t rate any interest, because Fox and me, all we want is to get Obama.

That’s how prejudiced they are and short minded. You have some of the Drive-Bys who know full well what they’re doing and they’re working with the regime to cover it up. Then you have real activists in the Drive-Bys who know exactly what happened and who fear the truth coming out and are going to do everything they can to protect Obama, including trying to lay the blame off on Republicans somehow or the military, or the video that nobody ever saw. Here’s Dr. Krauthammer, who was last night in the roundtable, the all-star panel, Special Report with Bret Baier who said, “A few weeks ago Dr. K you said right here on this panel that Republicans should move on, that they should kind of leave Benghazi alone, that it was a dead end. Have you changed your mind?”

 A fifth grade worksheet in Florida declares that the Federalists were different than the anti-federalists because they “believed in a strong national government that would have power over the states.” The Federalists believed in a central government, but it was to be a “limited government.” The anti-federalists believed that there should be no central government, and pushed for full sovereignty of the states.

The Federalists, according to the worksheet, included “John Adams, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin,  James Madison, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton.” While it is true that the Federalists wanted a central, or a “general,” government, the worksheet does not stress how important it was to the Federalists to ensure that the government did not become too powerful.

In fact, the worksheet explains,

“The purpose of the convention was to discuss how to make the national government stronger.”

Both the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists were dedicated to a system where government would not become tyrannical. This is evident to anyone who reads the words of the founding fathers. But in the worksheet, the phrases “checks and balances” and “separation of powers” are forgotten.

An attachment to the worksheet titled, “Federalist and Anti-Federalist Quotes,” quotes James Madison as saying,

“If men were angels, no government would be necessary… You must first enable the government to control the governed..” – James Madison, Federalist Papers “Number 51”

The actual quote:

“If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.”

The meaning is much different when the full quote is revealed.

Perhaps an even more egregious example is a quote from Benjamin Franklin. The worksheet quotes him as saying,

“I agree to this Constitution, because I think a general government is necessary for us…. . . I hope … we shall act heartily and unanimously in recommending this constitution . . .”
– Benjamin Franklin, Constitutional Convention, 1787

The actual quote is much different,

“In these sentiments, Sir, I agree to this Constitution with all its faults, if they are such; because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other.”

Although Franklin indeed went on to endorse the Constitution, it is clear that he was well aware of the potential for tyranny in the government.

The worksheet is a part of Florida’s “sunshine standards,” which were established after Common Core state standards became politically toxic.

The anti-Federalists eventually came around to the idea of a general government, and their input was pivotal in establishing the Bill of Rights. But it seems that some educators and others attempt to portray the Federalists as big government and the anti-Federalists as “anti-government,” which is grossly inaccurate, as both groups agonized about how America could prevent the inevitable tyranny that eventually occurs in all governments, everywhere.

This truth is evident to anyone who reads the Federalist papers.

As James Madison wrote,

The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the State governments are numerous and indefinite. –James Madison, Federalist 45, 1788

Planned Parenthood Abortion Doc Surrenders License After Sexually Molesting Patients

A former Planned Parenthood abortionist has surrendered his Massachusetts medical license amid allegations that he sexually molested patients – many under anesthesia – during fertility treatments at Fertility Centers of New England.

However, yesterday’s story in the Boston Globe, which reported on Roger Ian Hardy’s legal woes, failed to mention that Hardy once worked for Planned Parenthood where he had similar access to women as he had at a fertility clinic where he molested and inappropriately touched women over a period of two decades.

“You won’t read about his connections to Planned Parenthood in the Boston Globe, but you should!” said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue. “Sexual abuse of patients and staianhardyff is more common than people realize among those who work as abortionists. These men have access to women when they are extremely vulnerable. It’s an unspeakable betrayal. Adding to the scandal is the reticence of medical boards to take action when women bravely come forward to file complaints. Hardy’s situation is a case in point.”

In 1991, Hardy began moonlighting for Planned Parenthood in Santa Clara, California, then moved to Massachusetts in 1992 when he began providing abortions for Planned Parenthood of League of Massachusetts, Inc. In the late 1990’s, documents show he was accused of at least one case of medical malpractice as evidenced in a suit filed against him and Planned Parenthood related to an incomplete abortion. Why he left Planned Parenthood is unknown, but the Boston Globe article published on May 1, 2014, indicates that Hardy’s abhorrent behavior stretched back as far as 20 years, which would include his stint with Planned Parenthood in Massachusetts.

In 2004, a woman filed a complaint with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine alleging that Hardy took advantage of her while she was under anesthesia at a fertility clinic after discovering suspicious physical injuries the following day. The Board sent her complaint to Hardy, who wrote a long letter denying the charges and suggested that the woman’s injuries were self-inflicted. [Read the documents related to this complaint. The Board closed the complaint without action. The woman wrote a letter back complaining that the Board was not doing its job, but no further action was taken, until recently.

That 2004 complaint was revisited after 18 witnesses came forward to testify against him about his inappropriate sexual behavior not only with his patients, but also female members of his staff. The Board has since determined that Hardy had indeed sexually abused the women who had come forward in 2004.

In addition to surrendering his Massachusetts medical license, Hardy’s licenses have been suspended in Maine and New Hampshire.

Part two of the Boston Globe’s exposé on Hardy mentions the “code of silence” that protected him. One employee was upset when she saw Hardy fondling a patient’s breast but was told not to report it if she did not want to be known as a “disgruntled worker.”

“Ironically, the Boston Globe is part of that that ‘code of silence’ because not once in two articles did it warn former patients of Planned Parenthood that there is a possibility that they also may have been victims of Hardy’s perverted practices,” said Newman. “It appears that the paper is shielding Planned Parenthood’s abortion business from scrutiny when women have a right to know the truth.”

Operation Rescue has found that even when clinic workers do have the courage to report such abuses, often the medical boards turn a blind eye or just slap the offender on the wrist and send him back into the exam room, which only ensures that the abuse will continue.

“If the Board had taken the 2004 complaint against this man seriously, perhaps it would have spared countless women from being abused,” said Newman. “We’ve seen this kind of behavior with abortionists more times that we can stomach.”

• Oklahoma Nareshkumar Patel was charged with rape after several women came forward with horrific stories of his appalling sexual conduct with abortion patients and clinic workers. Unfortunately, Patel was inexplicably exonerated despite the overwhelming evidence against him.
• Maryland abortionist Harold O. Alexander was found to have “crossed sexual boundaries” with patients at his abortion business in Forestville. That and a slew of other violations earned him just a three-month suspension in 2012.
• Former Planned Parenthood abortionist Timothy Liveright was accused of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior with patients at a Delaware Planned Parenthood in 2013. He received only a public reprimand.
• Former California abortionist Laurence Reich was convicted of raping and molesting his female patients in the 1980s. With his license restored in the 1990’s Reich went to work at an abortion clinic where he had unrestricted access to vulnerable women. Once again, he was caught sexually abusing his abortion patients and surrendered his license in 2007, yet when his clinic was raided by police a year later, they found Reich still at work doing abortions.
• Maryland abortionist Mansour G. Panah’s long history of discipline started in 1988 when he was accused of fondling and attempting to kiss his patients on the mouth. He was disciplined once again for unwanted sexual contact with patients in 1995. One woman received as many as three breast examinations in one visit for no medical reason. When asked why the need for repeated examinations, Panah simply expressed admiration for the woman’s breasts. His Maryland medical license remains active.
• Houston abortionist Douglas Karpen was said to have engaged in sexual harassment in accusations made by his former employees. They reported that he would also touch abortion patients he found attractive in inappropriate ways. Their complaints were dismissed by the Texas Board of Medicine.
• In 2012, a filed suit alleging patient molestation and employee sexual harassment at Lovejoy Surgicenter in Portland, Oregon. The surgical nurse accused of the molestations was fired and the clinic continues to operate without further action.
• In one of the few cases where an abortionist was actually prosecuted, Arizona abortionist Brian Finkel was sentenced to 35 years in prison for raping and otherwise sexually abusing over 100 of his abortion patients.

“Our list of abusers could go on and on, but the point is that authorities often look the other way when receiving complaints that women have suffered from sexual abuse and harassment at the hands of abortionists,” said Newman. “Boards should show more respect for the clinic workers and patients who have the courage to come forward, and take their allegations more seriously. That could help prevent dozens, if not hundreds of women from being raped, molested, and otherwise abused.”

Because clinic workers and patients often fear reprisals if they report abusive behavior, Operation Rescue offers the Abortion Whistleblowers Program, which operates in a way similar to Crime Stoppers. Operation Rescue offers a $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of abortionists who are breaking the law.

“People like Hardy and his ilk should be criminally prosecuted for their crimes and we hope the authorities in Massachusetts are looking into doing just that. We hope that our reward offer will encourage both clinic workers and patients to come forward and blow the whistle on abortionists’ abusive or otherwise criminal activity,” said Newman. “We are constantly working to get abortionists like Hardy off the street and into jail where they belong so women have fewer predators to fear. Those who do come forward are heroes, in my opinion.”

How sick and twisted do you have to be to crucify a little child for being a Christian? Of course you never heard about this from the mainstream media, but that is exactly what happened in Syria recently…

crus 02Sister Raghida, former head of a Christian school in Damascus explained the horrific event. “Islam or death” was the choice given to many Christians in Syria on Tuesday during the height of the conflict in Syria. She said many Syrian Christians have been affected by the atrocities taking place in the Christian population of the Middle Eastern country, an area once known for the harmonious coexistence of Muslims and Christians.

According to Sister Raghida, the Muslims came to the two youths and said, “So you want to die as a teacher in whom you trust? Please choose: either to renounce (faith) or you will be crucified!”

The boys both refused to renounce faith in Jesus Christ and were martyred because of it. One of them was crucified in front of his father, who was then killed. The nun went on to tell the radio station that the Jihadists entered the city of Maaloula and started killing men, women, and children. According to her report, they killed and played football with the heads of those murdered. Sister Raghida also said the killers took pregnant women and pulled out the babies from their wombs and hung them from a tree by their umbilical cords.

This kind of brutality is absolutely unprecedented!

You would think that crimes of this magnitude would be front page news all over the globe.

But instead, there is mostly just silence.

About the only mainstream news outlet in the U.S. that will even touch this stuff is Fox News. And even they don’t give it front page treatment. Usually you have to really dig to find a brief story about the slaughter of Christians that we are seeing all over the planet.

The following is an excerpt from a Fox News story about another incident of crucifixion that just happened recently…

Al Qaeda-backed jihadists are hanging the bodies of executed enemies on crosses crucifixion-style in a town in Northern Syria, according to a Syrian opposition group.

The executions reportedly took place Tuesday in Raqqa, where the extremist group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, an Al Qaeda-linked network, has taken over the city, according to Abu Ibrahim Alrquaoui, who identifies himself as a founder of a group called Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently.

As I mentioned above, the jihadists that are doing this have the support of Saudi Arabia and the United States. The Obama administration and the Saudia are desperate to overthrow the Syrian government, and Obama seems to have no problem allying us with some of the most despicable jihadists on the entire planet in order to make that happen.

The brutality against Christians by U.S.-backed fighters has been going on for month after month with very little notice by the outside world. Just check out what has been going on in one little village in the middle of the war zone…

For a major part of the past year, it was occupied by Islamist Syrian rebels associated with al-Qaida who took advantage of its commanding position over Maaloula to help keep their grip on this Christian village. During the occupation of the village by the Saudi- and U.S.-supported rebels, strict Shariah law was enforced. Those Christians not able to flee were treated as slaves. Several Christian men were beheaded, and many of the women were forced into “temporary” marriages with multiple Islamic fighters.

And of course Syria is far from the only place where we see this kind of brutality on a consistent basis. For example, Christians are regularly slaughtered by radical jihadists in Nigeria. The following is just one recent example…

While many of us were enjoying our Friday evenings, a massacre was taking place in Nigeria that left between 100 and 150 Christians dead and around 200 homes burned to the ground.

At around 10pm Nigeria time last night while villagers were asleep, more than 40 Fulani herdsmen attacked the Ungwan Gata, Me-Sankwai and Tekum villages in Manchok (Kaura Local Government), which is located in Southern Kaduna, Nigeria. Southern Kaduna is a predominantly Christian.

These jihadi attackers first set fire to homes and when the Christians attempted to escape their homes, they were shot dead or butchered with machetes. The ones who could not escape their homes burned to death.

No one attacked was spared, including women and children. A pastor, his wife, and their children, of one of the villages, were said to be among the butchered.

Have you heard about that incident before now?

Probably not.

You see, the truth is that the elite control the “matrix” known as the mainstream media, and they don’t consider such stories to be important.

You probably haven’t heard about the young Christian woman that was dragged out of her car and beaten to death by a Muslim mob in Egypt either. Fortunately, there are some non-mainstream outlets that are covering this…

Eyewitnesses have given a harrowing account of the murder in Cairo of a young Coptic Christian woman, hauled out of her car and beaten and stabbed to death by a Muslim mob, apparently targeted because of a cross hanging from her rear-view mirror.

And to say that she was “beaten to death” doesn’t really capture the full horror of what happened to her…

Protestors climbed onto her car, collapsing the roof, then hauled her from the vehicle, beating and mauling her – to the extent, he said, that portions of her scalp were torn off. She was stabbed multiple times, her throat was slit and when she was dead, the mob torched her car.

This is evil to the highest degree.

But even in the midst of the slowest news year in ages, the mainstream media still won’t touch this stuff.

There is an extreme hesitance in the western world to report anything that will put Muslims in a bad light or put Christians in a good light.

Meanwhile, as Christians are being slaughtered by Muslims all over the globe, the western world is doing all that it can to shut down criticism of Islam.

For instance, the leader of a political party in the UK could be facing up to two years in prison for the “hate crime” of quoting Winston Churchill…

Political party leader Paul Weston was arrested by police and faces up to two years in jail for criticizing the religion of Islam during a public speech in the United Kingdom.

Weston’s “racially aggravated” hate crime consisted of him quoting Winston Churchill.

Weston’s arrest reveals the chilling implementation of thought crime in Britain and how political correctness is being used as a weapon with which to destroy the edifice of freedom of speech across the western world.

The following is what appears to be the quote that got Weston in trouble…

“The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities – but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.”

And in the U.S., great efforts are being made to make Muslims as comfortable as possible in our schools. Even as Christian prayers are being banned, entire prayer rooms are being set aside for Muslim students in schools all over the country. In addition, many school systems are now giving students days off during major Muslim holidays. In fact, this will soon be happening in New York City…

New York City is moving to close school for two Muslim holidays and the Lunar New Year — but Mayor de Blasio isn’t so sure about the Hindu festival Diwali.

Appearing on WNYC’s “Brian Lehrer Show” on Monday, the mayor said he hadn’t taken a position on whether Diwali, the festival of lights celebrated in India and other South Asian countries, should be a day off from school.

But he said he’d move forward with closing schools for Lunar New Year and for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, Muslim holy days.

But that is nothing compared to what happened at one high school in Colorado. As students recited the Pledge of Allegiance, the words “under God” were replaced with “under Allah”…Really 01

The principal at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado, is facing a hailstorm of criticism from some very angry parents and residents.

The school recites the Pledge of Allegiance weekly, on Mondays. Last Monday, a member of their “Cultural Arms Club” led the student body in an Arabic version of the pledge, replacing the words “under God” with “under Allah.”

Principal Tom Lopez denies any attempt to push an Islamic agenda, saying, “These students love this country. They were not being un-American in trying to do this. They believed they were accentuating the meaning of the words as spoken regularly in English.”

In the U.S., people are bending over backwards to make the Muslim minority feel more comfortable.

But in Muslim countries, Christians are being beaten to death, beheaded and crucified and very few people in the western world even want to talk about it.

Has our society become so “politically correct” that we cannot even denounce great evil when it is happening right in front of our eyes?

PALM HARBOR (FOX 13) – Pumping iron builds a lot more than just muscle for Krista Grubb.”Through lifting weights and working out, I gained a lot of confidence,” Grubb said.

So naturally she was thrilled when her 13-year-old son Mason also began to take an interest.

“Was really excited to see him lift and see the changes in his body I saw in mine,” she said.

“It was a good bonding time for my mom and me,” Mason Halye said.

They started working out together at the LA Fitness on U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor, where she’s a member.

She said everything was fine until last week.

“One of the trainers approached me asked what I was doing. I told her I was working out with my son,” Grubb said.

The next day she said she found out her membership had been revoked.

“He said the notes say you were training people here. and we have trainers that customers pay for,” she said.

Grubb is in fact a trainer, but she insists they were working out together mom and son – not trainer and client.

“We were just working out and she came and she helped me with my form, and that’s all,” Mason said.

“It being my son and we’re working out together, it’s insane. Just insane,” Grubb said.

Grubb said she had recently renewed her membership in full and hasn’t gotten a refund. We contacted LA Fitness’ media relations team multiple times, they have yet to respond.

In January the Satanic Temple announced plans to erect a monument glorifying the Dark Lord on the front lawn of the Oklahoma Statehouse. An Indiegogo campaign was launched with what seemed like a somewhat lofty goal of $20,000, but by the time donations ended almost $30,000 had been raised. Now an artist trained in classical sculpture is toiling away in New York, crafting a Baphomet figure sitting beneath an inverted pentagram and flanked by two children gazing upward in loyalty. When it is finished, it will be cast in bronze and, the Satanists hope, eventually displayed in Oklahoma.

The statue is a direct response to the state’s installation of a Ten Commandments monument outside the Capitol in 2012. State Representative Mike Ritze paid for the controversial statue with his own money, and therefore it was considered a donation and OK to place on government property. Following that line of reasoning, the Satanic Temple submitted a formal application for their monument.

As Trait Thompson of the Oklahoma Capitol Preservation Commission told CNN last December, “Individuals and groups are free to apply to place a monument or statue or artwork.” The applications are then approved or rejected by the Commission. Unfortunately, the state has placed a halt on issuing permits for any other monuments until a lawsuit filed by the ACLU against Ritze’s Commandments monument is settled.

Nonetheless, the Satanists are building this thing, and I was offered an early peek at the work in progress by Temple spokesperson Lucien Greaves. Greaves told me he has received numerous threats from people who want to attack the sculpture, but that he “wouldn’t expect these outraged and nearly insensible reactionaries to actually know how to assault a bronze monument without severely hurting themselves in the process.” Still, he’s not taking any chances. The Temple is building a mold of the sculpture so they can pop these things out like evil, terribly expensive action figures whenever they need a new one.

“Depending on our insurance policy,” Greaves said, “we may be able to cast two from the destruction of one, expediting our arrival to the next battleground.”

The Temple estimates that the monument will be finished in a few months. Once it’s done, they plan to put it in front of the Oklahoma Statehouse regardless of the the Capitol Preservation Commission’s ongoing battle against the ACLU. They feel this should be allowed because their application was submitted before all the hullabaloo over Ritze’s monument.

“After all,” Greaves told me, “the Ten Commandments still stand at the State Capitol. The Baphomet, which will stand seven feet tall and be a testament to the glory of the Angel of the Bottomless Pit, would be placed directly beside the sculpture glorifying the laws given to Moses by the Christian God. The idea of a Satanic monument sitting on government property in Oklahoma—which is like the Bible Belt’s Bible Belt—seems a bit far-fetched, but Greaves says that “there has been quite a bit of discussion among legal scholars who recognize how difficult it would actually be for Oklahoma to turn us down… Constitutional law is quite clear on this issue: The state can’t discriminate against viewpoints. If they’ve opened the door for one, they’ve opened it for all.”

Ryan Kiesel from the Oklahoma ACLU seems to agree. He told the Libertarian Republic, “If, at the end of the day, the Ten Commandments monument is allowed to remain on the Capitol grounds with its overtly Christian message, then the Satanic Temple’s proposal can’t be rejected because it is of a different religious viewpoint.”

When the monument is finished, the Baphomet will rest on the block beneath the inverted pentagram. His lap will serve as a seat for children.

One popular argument being used against the Temple’s monument is that it doesn’t have “any historical significance for the State of Oklahoma,” as State Representative Paul Wesselhoft told a local news station in January. “The only reason why the Ten Commandments qualified,” he continued, “is because at the Capitol, what we do is we make laws. We are lawmakers. Well, one of the earliest laws we have are the Ten Commandments.” This, it is important to remember, was said by a current democratically elected member of the legislature.

Greaves told me that “the idea that the Ten Commandments are foundational to US or Oklahoman law is absurd and obscene… I would argue that the message behind our monument speaks more directly to the formation of US Constitutional values than the Ten Commandments possibly could. It especially does so when it stands directly beside the Ten Commandments, as it affirms no one religion enjoys legal preference.”

Regardless of what happens at the statehouse, the Temple is charging ahead with the monument. And if it doesn’t end up in Oklahoma City and the Ten Commandments are forced to be removed, the Satanists will try to find a home for the Baphomet in another deserving state. Texas, for instance, has had a monument of the Ten Commandments sitting on its capitol grounds for 40 years. As Greaves put it, “There are no shortage of public locations across the US where religious monuments await a contrasting voice.”

Appears that U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy will head a newly formed special committee to look at the 2012 terrorist attack on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

The Spartanburg Republican has been a critic of the Obama administration’s response to the attack that killed four, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

News of the committee came soon after Secretary of State John Kerry was subpoenaed to testify before Congress about the department’s response to information requests about the attack.

Gowdy will appear on Fox News at 7 p.m. tonight, the network reported.

Cleveland+Cavaliers+v+Orlando+Magic+Game+6+PKI2MP-rofQlDonald Sterling, the beleaguered Los Angeles Clippers owner, received a lifetime ban from the NBA, a $2.5 million fine, and is currently being pushed to sell the team, after a recording of deplorable racial remarks made to his girlfriend surfaced. Some in the homofascist movement, however, are putting the full court press on the league to expand their disciplinary action against Sterling into a witch hunt aimed directly at all socially conservative or Christian NBA owners who oppose so-called same-sex “marriage.”

This proposed purge shouldn’t surprise anyone, especially because the homosexual activists have been trying to link race and sexual preference for years. The perversity hustlers have hijacked the Civil Rights movement and are insidiously twisting it into a push for Civil Wrongs by comparing skin to sin. Based upon their maniacal mob mentality, the targeting of natural marriage supporters is about as sure as a John Wall slam dunk.

Appearing on Tuesday’s “PBS News Hour,” Esquire political blogger Charlie Pierce goaded NBA commissioner Adam Silver into taking action against the DeVos family, which owns the Orlando Magic, for their opposition to counterfeit “gay” marriage. Pierce fantasized about the next phase in the NBA’s ‘gay’-rannical approach:

“On another venture, what does Adam Silver now do, for example, with the DeVos family in Orlando, which funds ‘anti-gay’ candidates and ‘anti-gay’ issue ads all over the country, as well as owning the Orlando Magic? Does he talk to them? This is an entirely new world, and if we’re going to step into it, let’s step all the way into it.”

But don’t take my word for it, watch for yourself as Charlie Pierce makes his shocking suggestion:

Amway heir Dick DeVos and his wife, Betsy, are prominent philanthropists who are deeply committed to their Christian faith, family values and free market capitalism. They have donated millions of their personal fortune to support a wide variety of conservative candidates and causes, including some candidates who oppose sodomy-based marriage. However, the DeVoses have never made any crude or hostile comments about homosexuals in the same vein as Sterling’s vile comments about African-Americans.

Nevertheless, Pierce apparently thinks that the DeVos family should be punished for participating in the democratic process and exercising their First Amendment freedoms of religion and speech. So, does merely supporting and funding traditional marriage warrant the confiscation of their NBA franchise? Sadly, in the Orwellian world in which we now seem to live, that may soon be the case. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone has lost their livelihood at the hands of the homofascist rainbow-shirts.

Unfortunately, it’s not just Charlie Pierce who would like to see a gaystapo-style attack upon the DeVos Family or anyone else like them for that matter. Rush Limbaugh even speculated on Wednesday that Rich DeVos could be the next target on NBA’s radar screen because of his traditional views on marriage. Limbaugh based his comments on a CNN report by Rachel Nichols in which she discussed some of the statements that DeVos has made on the issue of unnatural marriage.

“In the NBA you have an owner in Orlando, Rich DeVos who’s made very unpopular statements. He’s campaigned against ‘gay’ rights. He says that ‘gay’ people should stop asking for special treatment because they want to get married,” Nichols said in her report. “There are a lot of people in this country who think that that is a problem, and I think that there is gonna be more and more attention paid to what these owners think. It’s not just the players in the spotlight now, it’s not just management. They’re accountable, too.”

Limbaugh went on to argue that Nichols was “basically saying that the next target that they’re gonna try to take out is Rich DeVos.” That’s chilling to say the least.

“So Rich DeVos, Mr. Amway — he happens to be one of the greatest patriots this country has ever seen,” Rush continued, “Rich DeVos happens to have donated and supported some of the greatest causes in this country, but it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t have his mind right on ‘gay marriage.’”

Finally, just yesterday in a Huffington Post article entitled What About the NBA’s Homophobe Owner?, commentator and blogger Craig Crawford bemoaned the fact that the DeVos Family has donated to traditional marriage efforts without “a peep from anyone associated with the NBA.”

“While a racist in their midst deservedly gets the boot, the NBA and its players paid no attention when one of its owners gave half a million dollars to an ‘anti-gay’ group, defended it and, despite a tepid boycott effort, went along his merry way without any consequence,” Crawford complained.

Today, the league brings down the hammer on one outrageously racist owner, but tomorrow, will the league impose similar sanctions on owners who do nothing more than exercise their political and religious convictions? If so, then say goodbye to another precious freedom and check NBA ownership off of your list of personal goals to accomplish – courtesy of the militant gaystapo.

If the NBA follows the advice of liberal hacks like Pierce, Nichols or Crawford, we will be entering further into the realm of censorship and the criminalization of Christianity.

Cover-up is about shielding details of arms smuggling to terrorists in Syria

Amidst new revelations concerning emails that show the Obama administration conspired to create a phony narrative around the Benghazi attacks, the true purpose behind the cover-up is being obfuscated – the fact that an annex near the U.S. embassy was being used by the CIA to transfer surface to air missiles to terrorists in Syria.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa today issued a subpoena for Secretary of State John Kerry to testify before the committee on May 21 about Benghazi following the release of emails by Judicial Watch which show that the White House crafted a deceptive policy to falsely frame the attack as a spontaneous protest sparked by a YouTube video in order to protect Barack Obama’s image.

Lost in the haze of claims and counter claims is the real reason why the White House is desperate to prevent the attack from coming under any further scrutiny – because it would likely reveal an arms smuggling scandal that could rival Iran-Contra.

In May last year, Senator Rand Paul was one of the first to speculate that the truth behind Benghazi was linked to an illicit arms smuggling program that saw weapons being trafficked to terrorists in Syria as part of the United States’ proxy war against the Assad regime.

“I’ve actually always suspected that, although I have no evidence, that maybe we were facilitating arms leaving Libya going through Turkey into Syria,” Paul told CNN, adding that he “never….quite understood the cover-up — if it was intentional or incompetence”.

At the same time it emerged that the U.S. State Department had hired an Al-Qaeda offshoot organization, the February 17th Martyrs Brigade, to “defend” the Benghazi Mission months before the attack.

Senator Paul was vindicated less than three months later when it emerged that the CIA had been subjecting its operatives to monthly polygraph tests in an effort to keep a lid on details of the arms smuggling operation being leaked.

On August 1, CNN reported that dozens of CIA agents were on the ground in Benghazi during the attack and that the polygraph tests were mandated in order to prevent operatives from talking to Congress or the media about a program that revolved around “secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.”

Although the Obama administration is now openly arming the Syrian rebels, it has been keen to stress that such weaponry has been restricted to so-called “moderate” fighters, despite the fact that it is now widely acknowledged that Al-Qaeda is by far the most potent fighting force in Syria and indeed commands all the other militant groups.

The real truth behind Benghazi is likely to reveal that the Obama administration knowingly and deliberately provided surface to air missiles and other weapons to the most bloodthirsty Al-Qaeda jihadists in Syria who are now busy crucifying Christians while promising to bring their reign of terror to the west.

If a proper investigation into the Benghazi attacks uncovered concrete evidence of this arms smuggling scandal, Obama would face impeachment and many members of his administration would be facing long stretches in prison.

That’s the real reason why the White House is desperate to bury Benghazi.

The White House Just Released an Anti-Sexual Assault Video That Every Man Needs to See

In a stirring new anti-sexual assault PSA released by the White House on Tuesday, President Barack Obama joins a high-powered group of celebrities to emphasize the vital role men play in preventing sexual violence. President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden appear alongside big-name stars like Daniel Craig, Benicio Del Toro, Steve Carell, Seth Meyers and Dulé Hill in the 60-second spot, released through the White House’s YouTube channel.

According to the White House’s new guidelines for combating sexual assault on college campuses, “The message of the PSA is simple: If she doesn’t consent — or can’t consent — it’s a crime. And if you see it happening, help her, don’t blame her, speak up.” The video clearly condemns victim blaming while emphasizing affirmative consent and bystander intervention. It is a rousing call to action for men everywhere to become more deeply engaged with these issues.

Vice President Biden introduced the PSA during the official release of “The First Report of the White House Task Force to Protect Students From Sexual Assault” Tuesday afternoon in Washington. Like the video, much of the task force’s report is devoted to increasing male activism and awareness surrounding issues of sexual assault. This is a vital step, given that sexual assault is far too often regarded as a woman’s issue. The report states, “We need to engage men as allies in this cause. Most men are not perpetrators — and when we empower men to step in when someone’s in trouble, they become an important part of the solution.”

The PSA is the second of the 1 is 2 Many campaign, the first of which was released in 2012 and focuses on partner violence. It should be noted, however, that both videos utterly neglect male victims of sexual assault and violence — a sorely missed opportunity for meaningful inclusion of a group too often left out of these discussions. (The campaign’s website states, “While men compromise a smaller number of survivors, male survivors are no less important.”)

Nevertheless, the PSAs signify an important step towards the broader goal of actively engaging more men in issues of sexual assault. The New York Times called bystander intervention programs “the best hope for reducing sexual assaults on campuses,” and it’s important to let people everywhere know that they, too, can help put an end to these crimes. As Obama states in the 1 is 2 Many spot, “It’s up to all of us to put an end to sexual assault and that starts with you.”

HOUSTON — A mother out with her two children to go shopping became the victim of would-be purse snatchers, but a good Samaritan armed with a gun came to the rescue.

“It happened so fast,” said Brenda Vasquez, who manages the Family Dollar store in the 3400 block of Orlando Avenue in northeast Houston.

She witnessed the assault.

“This lady opens her car door, grabs the woman’s purse and they reverse. While they’re trying to reverse, the lady is holding on to her purse still, chasing them all the way to the middle.”

That’s when a perfect stranger intervened. He happened to be in his car in the parking lot when it happened.

“And that good Samaritan came out, drew his weapon and scared them. And that’s when he pulled them out of the car.”

Someone snapped a picture of the man holding the two suspects at bay. A few minutes later, police arrived and took the male and female suspects into custody.

The man who first confronted them purchased some candy for his kids and drove away.

“The guy is something else,” said Vasquez. “He’s a hero.”

Police were not releasing the names of either the good Samaritan or the victim.

No one was injured.

This week near Dover, Delaware, a viral video appears to show another instance of black-on-white violence among high school students.

The shaky cell phone video shows a group of black teenage boys punching, knocking down, and kicking a white teenage boy, leaving him dazed and confused on the school bus floor.

The victim of the attack had been riding home from Parkway Academy School near Dover when the assault reportedly began. The video shows him sitting alone, facing front, when the attack begins from the rear – and continues from the side and the front of the school bus. “I didn’t do nothing,” he protests.

The student’s uncle found out about the incident and spread the word on Facebook.

“This is a video of my nephew Alec being beaten by a group of teens on his bus ride home from school yesterday,” wrote Jonathan Guessford. “He was able to get off the bus at the next stop, 14 miles from his home. He went to the Magnolia Fire Hall and called the police.

“The bus driver failed to intervene AT ALL,” Guessford continued. “She didn’t stop the bus while the beating occurred. She didn’t call the police and file a report. She didn’t inform the administration that the beating occurred. (WHY??????????????) Apparently, the bus driver called the school and stated that Alec left the bus early for no reason, according to the administrator that called my brother yesterday.”Really 01

Sean Hannity believes Americans now have “cold, hard evidence” of a White House cover-up of the Benghazi terrorist attack.

“The smoking gun is out,” Hannity said about a newly released document dated three days after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that resulted in the deaths of four Americans.

The document, obtained by Judicial Watch, is an email prepared by Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications, for use by Susan Rice, then the Obama administration’s ambassador to the U.N. and now national security adviser.

“There you have it,” Hannity said on his Fox News show Wednesday. “Cold, hard evidence that a high-level White House aide instructed Ambassador Rice to blame Benghazi on a YouTube video.”

Rice’s use of talking points blaming the attack on an anti-Muslim video was widely seen as dooming her prospects of succeeding Hillary Clinton as secretary of state.

During a news briefing yesterday, reporters asked White House press secretary Jay Carney why the Rhodes email wasn’t released earlier. ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl was especially insistent, peppering Carney with a series of questions:

Why were you holding back this information? Why was this email not turned over to the Congress? Why was it not released when you released all the other emails? This is directly relevant. Why did you hold it back? Why did it take a court case for you to release this?

The Heritage Foundation’s Helle Dale said the latest disclosure is fresh evidence of “a cover-up of the awful policy choices that led to Benghazi.” Dale added, “As a consequence, Americans have lost their trust in the administration, the families of the victims continue to suffer, and none of the guilty have been punished.”
