Syrian refugee program called ‘back door for jihadists’

A senior FBI official has admitted the United States is finding it virtually impossible to screen out terrorists that could be hiding among the thousands of Syrian “refugees” heading soon to American cities. The U.S. simply does not have the resources to stop Islamic radicals in Syria from slipping into the country through the State Department’s refugee-resettlement program, said Michael Steinbach, deputy assistant director of the FBI’s counter terrorism unit. Separating legitimate refugees from terrorists was difficult enough in Iraq, where the U.S. had a large occupation force. Even then, the U.S. government’s vetting process missed “dozens” of Iraqi jihadists who slipped into the country posing as refugees and took up residence in Kentucky, according to a November 2013 ABC News report.

In Syria, the challenges are much greater. That’s why Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, held hearings this week on the process of vetting refugees and sent a letter to the White House voicing the committee’s “serious national security concerns.” “We learned our lessons with the Iraqi refugee population. We put in place a USIK-wide background and vetting process that we found to be effective,” Steinbach told the committee Wednesday. “The difference is that in Iraq we were there on the ground collecting (information), so we had databases to use,” he added. “The concern is that in Syria, the lack of our footprint on the ground in Syria, the databases won’t have the information we need. So it’s not that we have a lack of a process, it’s that there is a lack of information.”

Separating the wheat from the tares

Rep. John Katko, R-N.Y., asked Steinbach if he could suggest ways to go about getting this vital background information that would separate legitimate refugees from those who may be seeking to enter the U.S. to harm Americans. “I just don’t think you can go and get it,” Steinbach said. “You’re talking about a country that’s a failed state, does not have any infrastructure so to speak. So all the data sets, the police, the intel services, that you would normally go to and seek that information, don’t exist.”

“And that obviously raises a grave concern of being able to do proper background checks on individuals coming into the country?” Katko asked.

“Yes,” Steinbach responded.

McCaul’s panel sent a letter to the Obama administration Jan. 28 saying they have “serious national security concerns” about the U.S. State Department’s plans to accept tens of thousands of Syrian refugees into the U.S. by the end of 2016. The letter implored the administration not to let the refugee resettlement program become a “backdoor for jihadists” to enter the country.

The United States has traditionally taken in the majority of the world’s displaced persons, but since 1980 the refugee program has been handled through the United Nations high commissioner on refugees, who approves individuals for refugee status and then assigns them to various host countries. The U.S. can reject any refugee assigned by the U.N. if it discovers ties to terrorism during its vetting process.

The four-year-old Syrian civil war has created a humanitarian crisis, with 3.2 million Syrians having fled their country. Most are staying in camps in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey. The State Department said in December it was processing more than 9,000 applications referred from the United Nations, with tens of thousands more Syrians waiting in the U.N. pipeline. Resettlement agencies have lobbied the White House and Congress to allow up to 75,000 Syrians into the country as refugees over the next five years.

“Would bringing in Syrian refugees pose a greater risk to Americans?” asked McCaul.

“Yes, I’m concerned,” said Steinbach. “We’ll have to go take a look at those lists and go through all of those intelligence holdings and be very careful to try and identify connections to foreign terrorist groups.”

And the door from Syria swings both ways. Not only are Syrians with potentially deadly ties to terrorism coming into the U.S., but Americans are going to Syria to fight for ISIS. Many are lured over the Internet or encouraged by radicalized mosques in the U.S. to fly to the Middle East and wage jihad. Once they receive military training they are a danger to return to the United States.

Situation ‘out of control’

Another purpose of McCaul’s hearings was to get a handle on the size of the ISIS fighting force and how many Westerners have left their countries to fight for the terrorist army, which has butchered Christians across Iraq and Syria. More than 150 Americans are believed to have gone to fight for ISIS. That’s up from the number Vice President Joe Biden gave just last fall, when he said about 100 Americans were fighting for ISIS. “We don’t have it under control,” said Steinbach. “Absolutely, we’re doing the best we can. If I were to say that we had it under control, then I would say I know of every single individual traveling. I don’t. And I don’t know every person there and I don’t know everyone coming back. So it’s not even close to being under control.”

McCaul said the American people want answers. “You know the American people have seen Americans, the American journalists, beheaded by the ISIS executioner. It was a wake-up call for the United States,” McCaul said. “Kayla Mueller was just recently executed, and the Jordanian pilot, in one of the most horrific videos I’ve ever seen, in a very sophisticated Hollywood movie production style, lit in flames,” he continued. “They’re barbarians. And I think the barbarians are at the gate. We want to keep them outside the gates of the United States. I’m concerned that some have already returned.”Picture3

McCaul said the ISIS army is 50,000-men strong, but an article by WND earlier this week cited an Egyptian intelligence report that estimates the terrorist army could muster up to 180,000 or more fighters if it called in allied forces from al-Qaida, al-Shabab, al-Nusra and other like-minded Islamic groups. What’s more troubling is the number of foreign fighters flooding in from the West. ISIS is not a nationalist movement with loyalties to any nation. Rather, it is an Islamic movement bent on building up the caliphate declared by Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.Wake up America

5,000 ISIS fighters hold Western passports

“We know that foreign fighters have gone from 15,000 to 20,000. We know that 5,000 of these foreign fighters have Western passports that could get them entrance into the United States,” McCaul said. “… There are hundreds of Americans who have traveled to the region to fight with ISIS. We know that some of them have returned, and that’s a classified number. But my first question is, for those who have returned to the United States, what assurances can you give the American people, and what are we doing about it to make sure they do not attack in the United States?”

Nicholas Rasmussen, director of the National Counter Terrorism Center, also testified Wednesday and said the numbers are far from clear. “We know what we know, but that comes from a wide variety of sources and we have always assessed that there is likely more information out there that we have not yet been able to collect … And that is possible there are greater numbers of foreign fighters and potentially even greater numbers of individuals from Western countries who have traveled to the conflict zones.”

Steinbach agreed the numbers could be much greater than the 150 or so Americans suspected of fighting for ISIS, also called ISIL. “I would not be truthful if I told you we knew about all the returnees. We know what we know. There is a number that we don’t know about,” he told the committee. “The ones we know about, that have returned from Syria and the conflict zone. … Regardless of the intelligence that we started with, we build a case to disrupt. … And we seek to determine the root cause of their travel, what they did in Syria, and then ultimately if it was in support of a foreign terrorist organization such as ISIL we look for prosecution or some other type of disruption.”

McCaul said he does not believe the U.S. has “sufficient human intelligence in Syria to properly identify these individuals and hopefully the administration will move forward to do that.”Picture4

Benghazi committee to review secret tapes on Clinton’s role in Libya war

Is Hillary to blameThe special congressional committee probing the Benghazi terror attacks plans to review secretly recorded tapes that reportedly raise questions about then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s role in the 2011 U.S. military intervention in Libya. The Washington Times first reported that Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., chairman of the House committee, told his staff to review the materials. The newspaper previously reported that the audio tapes showed Pentagon officials were so concerned with Clinton’s push in 2011 to back Libyan rebels against Muammar Qaddafi that they opened their own back-channels with Qaddafi to try and prevent the U.S. from entering the civil war.

“Chairman Gowdy and the committee are aware of the details reported by The Washington Times, and we are reviewing them as part of the committee’s inquiry into Benghazi,” Benghazi committee spokesman Jamal Ware said in a statement, confirmed by FoxNews.com.

The decision could open up a new aspect of the Benghazi investigation, which is focused on the 2012 terror attack on the U.S. compound that killed four Americans, at a time when Clinton is moving toward a 2016 White House run. Clinton also may be called in the coming months to testify.  Gowdy said previously he may call Clinton as a witness, and according to the top Democrat on the panel, Clinton already has agreed to do so if she’s asked. Clinton’s State Department has been under scrutiny for the level of security at the U.S. compound, and for efforts to initially describe the attack as a demonstration turned violent.

The newly reported tapes deal with the intervention by the U.S. and its allies in 2011. At the time, Pentagon officials reportedly used an intelligence “liaison” to communicate with Qaddafi’s son and a top Libyan leader outside of White House or State Department knowledge. The conversations were secretly recorded. The Times also reported that U.S. intelligence challenged Clinton’s claims about a looming genocide in Libya, used to drive the case for U.S. military intervention. The unnamed intermediary, who was referred to as an intelligence “asset” working for the Pentagon, not only conducted the conversations with Qaddafi’s son, but reportedly shared his concern that Clinton was unnecessarily hyping the danger of a potential genocide by the regime as a way to drag Congress into the situation and shift public opinion in favor of an invasion.

“You should see these internal State Department reports that are produced in the State Department that go out to the Congress. They’re just full of stupid, stupid facts,” the U.S. intermediary reportedly told the Qaddafi regime in 2011. The paper said the liaison was “specifically dispatched by the Joint Chiefs of Staff.” Clinton Obama

Armed with a United Nations resolution, the U.S. led international bombing raids against the Qaddafi regime in March 2011, eventually aiding the rebels in ousting the longtime dictator, whom they killed. The Washington Times story suggests that the Obama administration’s efforts, led by Clinton, were focused on regime change, not a negotiated settlement, during the lead-up to the war. The story says that the recordings indicated Clinton allegedly “ordered a general within the Pentagon to refuse to take a call with Qaddafi’s son Seif and other high-level members within the regime, to help negotiate the resolution.”  The liaison reportedly told a Qaddafi aide that President Obama told lawmakers that Libya “is all Secretary Clinton’s matter.” The asset also reportedly said the president was not getting “accurate information.”Further from the truth

Muslim Brotherhood issues call for jihad 2 days after meeting at the State Department

Written by Allen West on January 31, 2015

There’s nothing like some good ol’ inspiration to get any team motivated to go out and win. We’ve all seen movies where inspirational speeches somehow enable a team to dig just a little deeper into themselves. However, you never see an instance where the leaders of one team go over to the opposing team to provide them with a highly spirited charge that will instill in them a desire to beat their own team. Could you imagine Sunday, the coaches of the Seattle Seahawks inviting the New England Patriots team into their locker room to pump them up?

Well, apparently that’s what the United States did this past week.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “The Muslim Brotherhood called for “a long, uncompromising jihad” in Egypt just days after a delegation of the Islamist group’s key leaders and allies met with the State Department, according to an official statement released this week. The organization released an official statement calling on its supporters to “prepare” for jihad, according to an independent translation of the statement first posted on Tuesday.”

“The State Department meeting was attended by a deputy assistant secretary for democracy, human rights, and labor and other State Department officials. The Muslim Brotherhood statement also was issued just two days before a major terror attack Thursday in Egypt’s lawless Sinai region that killed at least 25.”Muslims in the White House Administration

We reported on this a few days ago and the official State Department response was “We meet with representatives from across the political spectrum in Egypt.”Party of Deciet and lies

And why not? I’m quite sure they don’t consider the Muslim Brotherhood an Islamic terrorist organization — just “unarmed political insurgents” kind of like the Taliban. As a matter of fact, I’m quite sure the Obama White House considers the Tea Party a greater threat to the United States than the Muslim Brotherhood.

Hey, that reminds me of something — has Obama or his minions ever invited Tea Party leaders to the White House? Quite telling would you not say, that President Obama and his administration has had Islamic clerics who issued fatwas on our troops and individuals linked to the Muslim Brotherhood in the White House but not any of the Tea Party leaders targeted by his IRS? Whose side is he on?Obama Muslim collection

Or here’s an obvious one: has Obama ever had Chris Kyle’s wife Taya to the White House? I think you get my point.

Here is what the Obama administrations BFFs at the Muslim Brotherhood had to say, “It is incumbent upon everyone to be aware that we are in the process of a new phase, where we summon what is latent in our strength, where we recall the meanings of jihad and prepare ourselves, our wives, our sons, our daughters, and whoever marched on our path to a long, uncompromising jihad, and during this stage we ask for martyrdom,” it states.”

“Preparation for jihad is a key theme of the Brotherhood’s latest call for jihad. An image posted with the statement shows two crossing swords and the word “prepare!” between them. Below the swords it reads, “the voice of truth, strength, and freedom.” According to the statement, “that is the motto of the Dawa of the Muslim Brotherhood.” The statement also invokes the well-known Muslim cleric Imam al-Bana, who founded the Brotherhood and has called for the death of Jews.”Wake up America

Now, I seem to remember one now CIA Director John Brennan, telling us that “jihad” was a legitimate tenet of Islam — y’all know, that “religion of peace.” Folks telling us that jihad is some personal struggle, well, I ain’t feeling the personal struggle aspect from the above quote from the venerable granddaddy of Islamic terrorism, the Muslim Brotherhood. Seems to me they’re calling for a struggle against others which they pray ends up in martyrdom — you know, where they kill folks and get taken out as well. Then again, according to Al Jazeera English, I’m all wet. After all, one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. Yes, that’s it! The Muslim Brotherhood stands for freedom — the freedom to kill those who don’t follow the ways of the Ikhwan. And if you don’t know what that is, well, you should read more.Cannot obama-and-islam-300x225 Is this the religion of peace

“The fact that the Brotherhood issued its call to jihad two days after its meeting at the State Department will be grist for endless anti-American conspiracy theories about a supposed partnership between Washington and the Brotherhood,” said Eric Trager, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP). “The State Department should have foreseen what an embarrassment this would be.”

I don’t think anything embarrasses the Obama administration. We know things could have had a far different and peaceful settlement in Libya — but for some odd reason, seems like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton wanted the Islamic jihadists to win. The new disclosed tapes tell us so — and then ol’ Hillary outsourced the Special Mission Compound in Benghazi security to an Islamist militia, February 17 Martyrs — the rest is history.Obama Muslim collection

However, as Hillary would say to all of this, “What difference at this point does it make?” The difference is we are truly starting to wonder — well, at least those of us not drinking the kool-aid — if the policy of this administration is to openly embrace Islamic terrorists. Because it sure seems that way.

“Muslim Brothers have been committing violent acts for a very long time,” Trager explained. “Under Morsi, Muslim Brothers tortured protesters outside the presidential palace. After Morsi’s ouster, they have frequently attacked security forces and state property. But until now, the official line from the Brotherhood was to support this implicitly by justifying its causes, without justifying the acts themselves,” he added. “ So the Brotherhood’s open call to jihad doesn’t necessarily mean a tactical shift, but a rhetorical one.”

So something occurred at the State Department meeting earlier this week which has emboldened the Muslim Brotherhood to openly advocate the actions they were previously unwilling to embrace — but were conducting.

Something happened at Foggy Bottom that gave the Muslim Brotherhood the “green light.” Funny, Obama has dispatched campaign staffers to defeat Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. They’ve met with Muslim Brotherhood leaders while shunning Egyptian President al-Sisi.

But this administration will not call out Turkey’s President Erdogan – another Obama BFF — or the treacherous Qataris. And we know Obama gets REALLY mad if Congress talks about reinstating sanctions against Iran — Valerie Jarrett’s “homeboys.”

I don’t know. This is getting all too easy to decipher. It’s like President Obama doesn’t care anymore about hiding his affections and affiliations — and he’s daring the American people to stop him. Will we?

Disturbed yet? State Department hosts Muslim Brotherhood leaders

Written by Allen West on January 29, 2015

Yesterday White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz redefined the Taliban as an “armed insurgency.” He just could not bring himself to say Islamic terrorists. This young fella was straining to remember his assigned talking points about the “Tal-ee-ban.” We reported yesterday how BBC Arabia and Al Jazeera now have a policy of not using the word “terrorists” — after all, we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings, or offend the enemy.

Words are one thing, but actions are something else completely. A certain visit to the U.S. State Department must cause every American consternation — well, except for the Islamapologists.com01

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “The State Department hosted a delegation of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned leaders this week for a meeting about their ongoing efforts to oppose the current government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, who rose to power following the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi, an ally of the Brotherhood, in 2013.”

“One member of the delegation, a Brotherhood-aligned judge in Egypt, posed for a picture while at Foggy Bottom in which he held up the Islamic group’s notorious four-finger Rabia symbol, according to his Facebook page. That delegation member, Waleed Sharaby, is a secretary-general of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council and a spokesman for Judges for Egypt, a group reported to have close ties to the Brotherhood.”Obama Muslim collection

I just don’t have the words to convey my feelings about this. Well I do, but they’re not suitable in mixed company.

Just two days ago, we reported that Obama campaign operatives have been dispatched to Israel to work against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in the upcoming March elections. And now our State Department is hosting members associated with the original Islamist group, the Muslim Brotherhood. The 1992 Explanatory Memorandum of the Muslim Brotherhood written by Mohammed Akram outlining strategic objectives against America and North America is actually coming true before our very eyes. In fact, I’d like to share this section from the Explanatory Memorandum verbatim:

Understanding the role of the Muslim Brother in North America:
The process of settlement is a “Civilization-Jihadist Process” with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miser- able house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions. Without this level of understanding, we are not up to this challenge and have not prepared ourselves for Jihad yet. It is a Muslim’s destiny to perform Jihad and work wherever he is and wherever he lands until the final hour comes, and there is no es- cape from that destiny except for those who chose to slack. But, would the slackers and the Mujahedeen be equal.

How can it be that our own State Department is colluding with the enemy and especially after President al-Sisi’s incredible speech on New Years Day? We’ve written here often of the deliberate words and actions of Secretart of State John Kerry, certain Democrat Senators, and the Obama administration against the post-Mohammed Morsi Muslim Brotherhood government. And we all know — well, those of us keeping tabs — that at his 2009 Cairo speech Obama requested Muslim Brotherhood members to be seated front and center.

Is there any challenge to my assertion that Obama is an Islamist sympathizer?

The Free Beacon writes, “The delegation also includes Gamal Heshmat, a leading member of the Brotherhood, and Abdel Mawgoud al-Dardery, a Brotherhood member who served as a parliamentarian from Luxor. Sharaby, the Brotherhood-aligned judge, flashed the Islamist group’s popular symbol in his picture at the State Department and wrote in a caption: “Now in the U.S. State Department. Your steadfastness impresses everyone,” according to an independent translation of the Arabic.”Wake up America

So let me understand this. A Muslim Brotherhood affiliated individual visiting our State Department praised their “steadfastness”? Heck, now I’m personally offended, because “Steadfast and Loyal” is the motto of the 4th US Infantry Division — but it seems to be descriptive of how the Muslim Brotherhood sees our State department.

“Another member of the delegation, Maha Azzam, confirmed during an event hosted Tuesday by the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID)—another group accused of having close ties to the Brotherhood—that the delegation had “fruitful” talks with the State Department. Maha Azzam confirms that ‘anti-coup’ delegation, which includes 2 top [Muslim Brothers], had ‘fruitful’ conversations at State Dept,” Egypt expert Eric Trager tweeted. Assam also said that the department expressed openness to engagement, according to one person who attended the event. Trager, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), told the Washington Free Beacon that the State Department is interested in maintaining a dialogue with the Brotherhood due to its continued role in the Egyptian political scene.”

“The State Department continues to speak with Muslim Brothers on the assumption that Egyptian politics are unpredictable, and the Brotherhood still has some support in Egypt,” he said. “But when pro-Brotherhood delegations then post photos of themselves making pro-Brotherhood gestures in front of the State Department logo, it creates an embarrassment for the State Department.”

Embarrassment? No, it goes far beyond that, it is treasonous. It is aiding and abetting the enemy. It is providing material support and comfort to the enemy.

I invite any of you to read the Muslim Brotherhood’s Explanatory-Memorandum and tell me if what I just stated was wrong. There is no excuse for what happened — just as when the Obama national security team met with an Islamic cleric who once put out a fatwa against American troops — but then again, the same cleric was praised by President Obama during a speech at the United Nations. This should provide a clear window into the mentality of the Obama administration and why it has no compunction about meeting with or negotiating with Islamic terrorists.

So, what will it take America? What will make you finally realize we have a treasonous administration in charge of our country? What will it take for our new GOP Congress — House and Senate — to finally pass a resolution that censures President Barack Obama for his collusion and support to militant Islamic terrorism?

Yes, it is time to take that action — if the policies of President Obama and his administration to enable and support Islamic totalitarians and jihadists continues, something must be done. And there may be another action that should be taken if this clear and present danger within our halls persists. Obama has threatened our Congress with a veto if they pass sanctions against Iran — how many extensions to the talks will have to occur? Obama refuses to define the enemy. As a matter of fact, he shows clear anger and disdain towards any perceived affront to Islam, i.e. “Let me be clear, ISIS is not Islamic” and “The future does not belong to those who defame the prophet of Islam”Obama defending muslims Two

Maybe that’s the reason Obama refused to attend the anti-Islamic terror rally in Paris? Perhaps he agreed with the actions taken against the staff of Charlie Hebdo? I would prefer his definitive explanation instead of allowing me and others to define his actions.

Ladies and gents, we have a serious problem. We have a president and an administration that is comfortable embracing our enemy — that is an issue. The policies and actions support that assertion. Go ahead, prove me wrong. And drones are not a strategy.

I leave you with this well-known interpretation of comments by Marcus Tullius Cicero from his Second Catiline Oration,

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

Remember these prescient words from Edmund Burke, “All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men (and women) to do nothing.” And there are few greater evils than the Muslim Brotherhood.

Creeping Islamism: State Dept endorses handbook calling jihad noble

Obamacare

Written by Allen West on October 9, 2014

http://allenbwest.com/2014/10/creeping-islamism-state-dept-endorses-handbook-calling-jihad-noble/

Imperial Islamic President ObamaWe cannot defeat Islamo-fascism as long as we refuse to admit its existence. America, and indeed the West as a whole, must come to the understanding that strategically we are fighting an ideology. However, if we continue to dismiss and make apologies in order to create some sense of comfort for ourselves — then we will never be able to achieve success in degrading or destroying this vile, savage and barbaric enemy. And that is why this latest development in the U.S. State Department is utterly disturbing.

As reported by the Washington Free Beacon, “The U.S. State Department endorsed on Wednesday a controversial anti-terror handbook published by Canada’s Muslim community that refers to jihad as “noble” and urges law enforcement to avoid using terms such as “Islamic extremism.” You can review it here.

“The handbook, published earlier this month by two Canadian Muslim community organizations, was so controversial that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) flatly rejected the manual and ordered its officers not to use it. Yet the State Department’s official anti-terrorism Twitter feed, called Think Again Turn Away, appeared to endorse the controversial handbook on Twitter and linked to a positive article about it.”

We’ve reported previously about the efforts of “Muslim advocacy” groups to purge training materials being used by the FBI, Department of Defense or local law enforcement agencies which have been deemed offensive and anti-Islamic. Not to mention the UN Resolution 16/18 as promoted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that promotes criminalization of deemed anti-Islamic speech.

But here in America, the Obama administration can’t seem to condemn the Ft. Hood jihadist attack by Nidal Hasan and still refers to it as “workplace violence.” If you read the after action report on the Ft. Hood shooting, you’ll find no references to jihadist,” Islamic terrorism, Islamic extremism or Islamism – the report was completely whitewashed. And don’t forget the FBI’s quick reaction to claim that the vicious beheading of the American woman in Moore, Oklahoma was again “workplace violence” — regardless of the jihadist proclamations on the beheader’s Facebook page. And have you heard anything else about the self-proclaimed jihadist attacks by Ali Muhammad Brown — his last victim being 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin in New Jersey.

It’s disconcerting that our own State Department would accept a handbook from the Canadian Muslim Community that was rejected by the Canadian RCMP.

The Free Beacon reports, the RCMP ultimately decided to reject the book, citing its “adversarial tone.” “After a final review of the handbook, the RCMP could not support the adversarial tone set by elements of the booklet and therefore directed RCMP Manitoba not to proceed with this initiative,” the police force said in a statement posted on its website. The handbook itself recommends that “intelligence and law enforcement officials” should “avoid terms such as ‘Islamist terrorism’, ‘Islamicism’, and ‘Islamic extremism’ in favor of more accurate terms such as ‘al-Qaida- inspired extremist,’” according to one section of the handbook, which still bears RCMP’s official logo.

I suppose we need a lesson in the Arabic terminology and the principle regarding lying. There are two forms of lying to non-believers which are permitted under certain circumstances: taqiyya and kitman. These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause Islam – in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.

So why is it that our own government is accepting the lies as purported by the Islamic community of Canada regarding our law enforcement efforts? Is this just another example of the Islamist sympathies of B. Hussein Obama?States Formal Sacred Cow of Policital Correctness

The Beacon says “the term “jihad” also is not appropriate to use, according to the handbook, a copy of which was first published by Canada’s CBC News. “Do not refer to terrorists as ‘jihadis,’” the manual states. “This only emboldens them and gives them a legitimate status in the eyes of the vulnerable. Terrorism is not jihad. Jihad is a noble concept in Islam.” Other sections tell the Muslim community that they are under no obligation to speak to the police about individuals who may be suspected of having extremist ties.”

So we just dismiss it when jihadists tell us they are committing jihad because this handbook refers to it as a “noble concept” in Islam? In the Obama administration State Department’s endorsement of this handbook, has this administration now surrendered to the whims of the cultural jihadists and their stealth efforts – or simply condoning them?

Terrorism analyst and reporter Patrick Poole told the Free Beacon that “the State Department’s tweet of the controversial handbook is a sign of what he called its disjointed policies. “From letting members of designated terrorist groups into the White House, backing the Muslim Brotherhood in the so-called ‘Arab Spring’, responding to demands of Islamic groups to purge counter-terror training materials, to endorsing extremist Islamic clerics like Sheikh Bin Bayyah only then to have to apologize, and now this,” he said. “To describe it as a series of missteps is a gross understatement. This is a coordinated campaign of counter-terror catastrophe.”

One of the questions I continue to receive along my travels is, “do you believe what Obama is doing is based upon incompetence or intention?” I carefully consider the inquiry and search for trends to analyze and assess, and this is not incompetence — this is the intentional agenda of a progressive socialist who is an Islamist sympathizer dedicated to fundamentally transforming America.

These are not mistakes, missteps or misspeaking. This is the desire of a narcissistic collectivist ideologue whom hapless Americans allowed to be created, foolishly elected and then stupidly reelected. The question is, are we too far gone to turn back? Perhaps we’ll know in about 26 days.

White House Brushes Off Plight of U.S. Marine Jailed in Mexico

Obamacare

By Susan Jones / October 2, 2014 – 6:08 AM

tahmooressi(CNSNews.com) – It’s the State Department’s problem.

Imperial Islamic President ObamaOn the same day Republican lawmakers urged President Obama to do something about an American war veteran languishing in a Mexican jail, a White House spokesman indicated it’s not going to happen.

“My colleagues at the State Department are very focused on this issue,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said at Wednesday’s briefing. “And so, I’d refer you to them for their efforts to work with the Mexican government.”

Rep. Ed Royce (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, says he asked Vice President Biden to ask President Obama to call the Mexican president directly to urge leniency for Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi — but apparently it hasn’t happened.

“I don’t believe it has (happened),” Earnest responded, “and that’s because this is an issue that is being handled through the State Department and through the existing channels at the State Department.”

The State Department told reporters on Wednesday that it sent a representative to Wednesday’s hearing of the House Foreign Affairs subcommittee, but the committee did not invite anyone from the State Department to testify.

As CNSNews.com reported, Sgt. Tahmooressi, who served honorably in Afghanistan, was later diagnosed with PTSD. Back home in the U.S., he was living out of his truck when he made a wrong turn into Mexico six months ago, with three legally purchased guns in his possession.

Tahmooressi says he took a wrong turn near the border and did not intend to end up in Mexico at all, but he’s been jailed ever since, because it is illegal to bring guns into Mexico. So far, all pleas for his release have been rejected.

At a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Matt Salmon (R-Ariz.) said he is “mystified” that President Obama found time to negotiate with the Taliban for the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who walked away from his unit in Afghanistan, but couldn’t find time to “call our ally, the Mexican president, to appeal to him on behalf of our Marine.”primary

Salmon said Tahmooressi is a “war hero” who needs help that Mexico cannot provide for his PTSD; and Salmon also said Andrew deserves help from President Obama.

Other committee Republicans also faulted Obama for not raising the Tahmooressi issue directly with the Mexican president.

“Shame on President Obama for not making a 30-second telephone call to the president of Mexico and getting this thing settled a long time ago,” Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R_Calif.) said.

“He’s the commander-in-chief. That means he’s personally the commander of people who volunteer to fight our wars. And if they don’t think that cares enough about him to make a phone call, what are they — you know, they’re going to feel they’re betrayed, and they are being betrayed.”

Rohrabacher said he knows that Sgt. Tahmooressi did not do anything intentionally wrong: “I went to Tijuana, and I retraced his steps…And on the way back, when I drove out of that parking lot and made that turn to the left, it appeared — I can testify to everybody today — it appeared that I was going into California.

“And once you made that turn, there was no going back until you were in Mexico. There is no doubt that this problem was not caused by any intention of Andrew to in some way not respect the law of Mexico. And that — that is very evident.”

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) received applause when he urged Obama to “pick up the phone and do your job on behalf of our Marine.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) (AP photo)

(CNSNews.com) – “You cannot win a battle against radical Islamic terrorism if you’re unwilling to utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorism,'” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said on Tuesday.

Coincidentally, on the same day Cruz made that comment, Secretary of State John Kerry said that “extreme poverty” breeds terrorism. Really 01

Cruz was talking about the Benghazi attack with CNN’s Erin Burnett on Tuesday evening. He noted that the Obama administration, in explaining the attack to the American people, “edited out every reference to al Qaeda and radical Islamic terrorism.”

“And the most consistent error of the Clinton/Obama foreign policy is a failure to understand the nature of the people we’re dealing with, of our enemies.”

cruz

Obama defending muslimsCruz said neither President Obama — nor former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in her recent television interviews — is willing to “utter the words ‘radical Islamic terrorists.’ They do not understand the radical religious extremism of individuals committed to jihad who had pledged to murder Americans.

“And that leads them to keep making the mistakes over and over and over again, whether it is releasing five senior Taliban terrorists without understanding that these individuals will likely return to active warfare against the United States; whether it is in the case of Iraq, not understanding the threat posed by ISIS.”

As if to prove Cruz’s point, Secretary of State John Kerry told a conference in Washington earlier on Tuesday that poverty is the problem and “energy policy” is the solution: Really 01

“The world is waiting for people to be put to work,” Kerry told a conference on oceans at the State Department: “We have extreme poverty; we have terrorism that comes out of it. We have any number of problems that could be cured by energy policy that makes sense”.

ebassy

Benghazi RemebrenceOn Sunday, The United States announced that some staff was being evacuated immediately, largely due to the impending threat of Al Qaeda splinter group ISIL’s (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) assault on Baghdad. To further secure the diplomatic post, the United States sent an additional 150 additional Marines to the embassy. “A small number of DOD (Department of Defense) personnel are augmenting State Department security assets in Baghdad to help ensure the safety of our facilities,” said a Pentagon spokesman.

Dear Mr President

Earlier in the day, the State Department announced that the embassy was prepared to ride out the storm. “Overall, a substantial majority of the U.S. Embassy presence in Iraq will remain in place and the Embassy will be fully equipped to carry out its national security mission,” said State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki. The embassy in Baghdad has roughly 5,000 personnel, making it the world’s largest quantitative US diplomatic post.

Baghdad had already been facing internal strife early Sunday. A series of car bombings killed 15 and wounded dozens in the capital city. In addition, a suicide-bomber killed 9 and wounded 20, detonating his vest while walking through a busy street in the capital.

Before hitting Baghdad, ISIL overtook the predominantly ethnic  Turkmen city of Tal Afar in northwest Iraq. An official told Reuters, “The city was overrun by militants. Severe fighting took place, and many people were killed. Shiite families have fled to the west and Sunni families have fled to the east.”

30 Witnesses disappearAnother official weighed in on the threats posed to the citizens of Tal Afar. “The situation is disastrous in Tal Afar. There is crazy fighting and most families are trapped inside houses, they can’t leave town. If the fighting continues, a mass killing among civilians could result,” said the official.

Iran sent 2,000 troops, including 1,500 Quds special forces, in order to support the Shia-led Maliki Iraqi government in Baghdad. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC)  said the US may need to enlist the help of the Iranians. “We are probably going to need their help to hold Baghdad,” he said.

“Now what do you suppose the motivation is for Iran to get involved in this mess? They have been the sworn enemy of Iraq for generations. They have always hated each other. Now they want to help?????????????? Hmmmmmm. Let’s see what their motivations could be. Oil? American Technology left behind for the Maliki government? More territory to rule? I wonder??????????????????” JB

An Iraqi tribal spokesman told Al Arabiya that ISIL troops have started their march towards Baghdad. In addition, there are several unconfirmed reports that the Baghdad airport is sustaining heavy fire from ISIL militants. Photos have surfaced allegedly showing the airport under attack from the Islamist insurgents. The Baghdad flight radar has noticeably stopped updating arrivals.

Obama Ready to Openly Work with Hamas Terror Group

http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/05/obama-openly-ready-work-hamas-terror-group/#g2VrWasjZ0hHSub1.99

May 21, 2014

Nail meet coffin.

Where to begin? More like a helluva place to end. Because this is an ending — an ending of the United States as a force for good. An ending of the United States as a moral government. It’s the end of the United States as we have known it.

Hamas is a genocidal terror group whose charter calls for the annihilation of Israel in the first paragraph. The reason for their existence is annihilation.

The Times of Israel can write about this in even and nonchalant tones, but this is seismic.

Let us hope that the Congress steps up and stops the jihad in the White House.

White House said ready to work with PA unity government

Official quoted ahead of expected formation next week of Fatah- and Hamas-backed cabinet of Palestinian technocrats

TEL AVIV — A senior official in the White House reportedly said the US would cooperate with a soon-to-be-formed Palestinian unity government, despite Israeli opposition.

A unity government is set to be established within a week by Fatah, which controls the West Bank’s Palestinian areas, and Hamas, the terrorist group that governs Gaza. United States policy is not to work with Hamas unless it recognizes Israel, commits to nonviolence and abides by previous Israeli-Palestinian agreements.

Although it will have Hamas’s support, the new government will be made up of technocrats, rather than representatives of Hamas or Fatah. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has said that the new government will abide by the conditions mandated by the US.

An anonymous senior White House official told the Haaretz newspaper on Tuesday that the US would work with the new government as long as it abides by the conditions, even if it has Hamas’s support. A meeting of 28 European Union foreign ministers last week took a similar position.

“We want a Palestinian government that upholds those principles,” the White House official told Haaretz. “In terms of how they build this government, we are not able to orchestrate that for the Palestinians. We are not going to be able to engineer every member of this government.”

When the Palestinian factions announced the unity agreement in April, the Israeli government announced that it would not negotiate with any government backed by Hamas.

Israel and the US have been at odds over the collapse of the peace talks last month, with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman saying over the weekend that the US was mistaken for blaming Israel’s continued settlement activity for the breakdown.

Addressing recent reports that US President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry and special envoy Martin Indyk have all primarily blamed the settlements for the failure, Liberman said Israel and the US are great friends and that “even good friends are [sometimes] mistaken.”

“The Americans are mistaken on the settlements. Just like they were mistaken when pushing for Palestinian elections [in 2006, which saw Hamas rise to power]. The settlements are not an obstacle to peace and never have been,” Liberman charged.

Commenting on a meeting Thursday between Israel’s chief negotiator and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni and Abbas in London, Liberman said Livni was “entitled to meet with whomever she wished,” and insisted that she was in London mainly on other business and not for continued efforts for peace. “There was a cabinet decision to halt talks, which Livni supported,” Liberman said.

In the wake of the Palestinian unity pact last month, Israel’s key security cabinet, of which Livni is a member, voted unanimously to suspend negotiations with the PA, saying Israel could not hold peace talks with a government supported by Hamas, an Islamic terrorist organization committed to Israel’s destruction.

On Saturday, the US State Department denied allegations that Kerry’s envoy Indyk “bashed” Israel during a private conversation at a hotel bar in Washington earlier this month, and blamed Israel solely for the failure in peace talks.

Indyk criticized both sides for the failed peace talks in a speech at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy earlier this month. Days earlier, a feature in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, reportedly based on a briefing by Indyk, quoted unnamed US officials offering a withering assessment of Netanyahu’s handling of the negotiations, indicated that Abbas has completely given up on the prospect of a negotiated solution, and warned Israel that the Palestinians will achieve statehood come what may — either via international organizations or through violence. The officials highlighted Netanyahu’s ongoing settlement construction as the issue “largely to blame” for the failure of Kerry’s July 2013-April 2014 effort to broker a permanent peace accord.

On Thursday, The New York Times published an article, quoting an unnamed US senior official, saying that Obama believes, more than any other factor, that Israeli announcements of construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem throughout the nine months of talks led to the negotiations’ collapse.

In July 2013, Kerry coaxed the Israelis and the Palestinians back to the negotiating table after a three-year hiatus, and both sides agreed to keep talking for nine months. That period expired at the end of April, and the talks collapsed with each side blaming the other for major breaches of the negotiating agreements.

“Someone please tell me why it is acceptable for any nation, or group of nations, to tell any sovereign nation what they can do with their land? Israel is God’s inheritance to His children. It is no one else’s business what they do with their land, especially with a group of terrorist thugs who claim to be a people.’

“The Palestinians never have been, not ever will be an indigenous people. They are Arabs who were run out of Saudi Arabia for trying to kill the Royal Family. They are squatters. They squatted down in Israel, and typical of Islam traditions, they lied about why they were there. Unfortunately, because most of the world’s nations are anti-Semitic, they supported the lie.’

“As Christians we are commanded to pray for Israel and defend Israel. Are You?” JB

Obama Appoints Hamas Adviser Robert Malley to Senior Director on National Security Council

BrotherhoodPresident Obama has named Hamas adviser Robert O. Malley the senior director at the National Security Council (NSC). You may recall that Malley was foreign policy adviser to then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2007, and was fired from his campaign team in 2008 because of his notorious ties to Hamas, the PLO and other jihadist, anti-Israel groups.

Atlas readers are long familiar with this subversive jihad operative. As early as 2007 and  2008 (and repeatedly throughout the campaign and in my book), I warned Atlas readers of the troubling relationship between Robert O. Malley and Barack Hussein Obama.

Robert Malley told the NY Times that he had regularly been in contact with Hamas, which is designated a terrorist organization by the State Department.

2007 and further:

[Malley] was part of the American negotiating team that dealt with Yasser Arafat at Camp David. He has presented a revisionist history of those negotiations since then: presenting a view that blames Israel for the failures of the negotiations. His version has been radically at odds with the views of Americans and Israelis (including the views of American Middle East negotiator Dennis Ross-also an adviser to Obama- and President Clinton). He has spent years representing the Palestinian point of view, co-writing a series of anti-Israel articles with Hussein Agha-a former Arafat adviser. Palestinian advocate. These have appeared in the New York Review of Books a publication that has served as a platform for a slew of anti-Israel advocates from Tony Judt to the aforementioned George Soros to the authors of the Israeli Lobby book Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer. Malley has also called settlements “colonies” — implicitly condemning Israel as a “colonial” state. His writings have been so critical of Israel that the media-monitoring group CAMERA has a “dossier” on him.

Discover the Networks:

In a July 2001 op-ed (titled “Fictions About the Failure at Camp David“) which was published in the New York Times, Robert Malley (whose family, as noted above, had close ties to Yasser Arafat) alleged that Israeli — not Palestinian — inflexibility had caused the previous year’s Camp David peace talks (brokered by Bill Clinton) to fail. This was one of several controversial articles Malley has written — some he co-wrote with Hussein Agha, a former adviser to Arafat – blaming Israel and exonerating Arafat for that failure.

hamas

One security official at the time said, “We are noting with concern some of Obama’s picks as advisers, particularly Robert Malley who has expressed sympathy to Hamas and Hezbollah and offered accounts of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that don’t jibe with the facts” (here).

Because of the exposure of Malley by the blogs, he was removed from Obama’s campaign team. But the mask is off, and Obama has no need to pretend to be something he is not. Malley is back and in charge  —

“Adviser Fired by Obama for Hamas Meeting Gets Top WH Security Job,”  Judicial Watch, February 19, 2014

A radical foreign policy adviser fired by President Obama years ago for meeting with the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas has been hired by the White House to be the senior director at the National Security Council (NSC).

How generous of the commander-in-chief to let bygones be bygones when it comes to this extremist, a Middle East “expert” named Robert Malley whose family had close ties to Yasser Arafat, founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Fatah movement. Malley was an adviser in Bill Clinton’s White House and he consistently exonerates Palestinians and condemns Israel.

Over the years he has published a number of newspaper opinion pieces urging the United States to reach out and negotiate with terrorist enemies like Hamas, Hezbollah and Muqtada al-Sadr. A website that documents the networks and agendas of the political left offers details about Malley’s scary past and provides links to the outrageous articles he’s published, including several co-written with Hussein Agha, a former adviser to Arafat.

Malley grew up in France and his Egyptian-born father was a key figure in Egypt’s communist party and a close friend of Arafat’s. His parents were fervently anti-Israel and huge supporters of several leftist revolutionary liberation movements, especially the Palestinian cause. Malley published a piece in a mainstream newspaper declaring that Israel was responsible for the failure of Bill Clinton’s peace talks with the Palestinians. Malley attended the 2000 event, which was held at Camp David because it was the site of the landmark 1978 Israeli-Egyptian peace accords.

When Obama launched his 2008 presidential campaign, he brought Malley on as a foreign policy adviser Who is better offfocusing on the Middle East. The then-Illinois senator reportedly dumped Malley around May for meeting with and having regular contact with Hamas, which has long been classified as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department. A London newspaper broke the story about Malley getting the boot for schmoozing it up with terrorists and U.S. media repeated the line, but Middle Eastern press published a vastly different version.

Shortly after Obama got elected president in early November, Israel’s largest news site revealed that the Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported that Hamas engaged in talks with Obama for months through his “fired” adviser. The article quotes Ahmad Yousuf, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh’s political advisor, saying this: “We were in contact with a number of Obama’s aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his election campaign and be used by Republican candidate John McCain (to attack Obama).”

Every countryNow Malley is officially a top dog in the crucial, tremendously influential agency that advises the president on national security and foreign policy matters. The Obama-loving mainstream newspaper that reported Malley’s new position this week says his return to the White House reflects a changing U.S. role in the Middle East. “This time he will manage the fraying ties between the United States and its allies in the Persian Gulf, a job that says a lot about how America’s role in the Middle East has changed

Hillary’s State Department Hired al Qaeda Linked Security Group Who Helped Attack Benghazi Compound

February-17th-Martyrs-Brigade

That’s the question that needs to be brought up when Hillary officially announces her campaign for president!  You may also want to ask Hillary why this fact was obviously omitted from the State Department sanctioned Accountability Review Board (ARB) that investigated the attack on the Benghazi compound.

According to the 88 page Senate report, that’s exactly what happened.  The Senate report revealed that the State Department contracted with the Libyan 17th of February Brigade militia to provide security outside the Benghazi compound.  The 17th of Feb militia is part of the Ansar al Sharia banner group who is known to have ties to al Qaeda.  Additionally, Ansar al Sharia has been implicated as the group who carried out the attack that killed US Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans.

The report states that at the time of the attack, there were three armed members of the 17th of Feb militia serving as part of the external security at the Benghazi compound.  Then the report described what happened:

“Outside the compound, the security team asked 17th of February Brigade members to ‘provide cover’ for them to advance to the gate of the Temporary Mission Facility with gun trucks.  The February Brigade members refused, saying they preferred to negotiate with the attackers instead.”

“Eventually, the security team initiated their plan of assault on the Mission compound. Some members of the 17th of February Brigade ‘jump[ed] into the vehicle’ and ‘a few 17 Feb members follow[ed] behind on foot to support the team’ according to the informal CIA notes provided to the Committee.”

Yet, the ABR report, sanctioned by the State Department, reported that the members of the 17th of Feb Brigade actually helped American personnel to avoid a roadblock after leaving the compound.  The ABR paints a completely different picture of what happened and the role of the 17th of Feb Brigade and it says nothing about their ties to Ansar al Sharia and al Qaeda.

So who are you going to believe?  Are we supposed to accept the ABR which basically was the State Department investigating the State Department or the US Senate investigation whose report clearly lays blame on the Hillary Clinton’s State Department and provides further evidence of it being covered up?

Hillary Clinton is just as evil and vile as Barack Obama and if she is elected president in 2016, you can be assured that conditions in America and abroad will get worse, not better.

Says secret diplomacy wrong, State should make noise about American jailed in Iran

Published: 15 hours ago

author-image Michael Carl

Michael Carl is a veteran journalist with overseas military experience and experience as a political consultant. He also has two Master’s Degrees, is a bi-vocational pastor and lives with his family in the Northeast United States.

Saeed Abedini and his family.

A Texas congressman charges the State Department is mishandling the case of American pastor Saeed Abedini, who is being held in an Iranian prison.

Rep. Steve Stockman, R-Texas, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said federal officials appear to be using quiet diplomacy in Abedini’s case.

That approach, he contends, is the opposite of what should be done.

“The State Department almost universally when it’s a hostage situation, and this is really what it is, [stays] quiet for fear of doing harm. And I think it’s the exact opposite. When you stay quiet, you will cause harm, and it doesn’t raise the problem to the people who are in charge,” he said.

Stockman said the Iranians originally intended to use the pastor as a “bargaining chip.”

“You know, we had some of their officers in the Quds Force, and the Iranians were going to bargain for their release.

But apparently, the Obama administration while negotiating just traded the prisoners without getting anything in return, which kind of surprised the Iranians,” Stockman said.

“Normally there’s an exchange and we got nothing in return, when in reality we should have pushed for the release of the pastor,” said the congressman.

He said now he would “encourage” the American people to get more involved directly in Abedini’s case, because he’s not seeing much input from the public.

“I would like to see something more visible and the family actually get involved more, going on TV and other things,” Stockman said.

American Center for Law and Justice Executive Director Jordan Sekulow agrees. More public involvement is what is needed in light of the government’s nearly uniform silence on the American pastor, he said.

“The issue is getting the attention of Congress. I think the petitions have worked to the extent that they got Congress’ attention. We’ve had congressional hearings. They have done what they can and they will continue to help. But, they can only do so much,” Sekulow said.

Sekulow acknowledges that Congress isn’t the State Department, but petitions can still generate some attention.

“We’ve seen bipartisan support and we’ve seen the State Department have to pay attention,” Sekulow said. “We wouldn’t have had the congressional hearings, the message … to Secretary Kerry, and we wouldn’t have had the White House make any statements at all but for the American people speaking up.”

International Christian Concern Middle East analyst Todd Daniels believes citizen action can be effective, if it mobilizes larger sections of the population.

“The strategy to engage other parties that have a vested interest is certainly possible as part of the overall efforts to see Saeed be released, as sanctions on certain sectors are being lifted,” Daniels said.

Human rights activists have been disappointed with the limited amount of attention shown to Abedini’s case.

However, Middle East Forum President Daniel Pipes isn’t surprised by the lack of government engagement. He said the U. S. government historically has shown little interest in Iran’s human rights record.

“The U.S. government historically has downplayed human rights issues vis-à-vis the Islamic Republic of Iran, focusing instead on terrorism and the nuclear buildup,” Pipes said.

He said it adds a burden for citizen groups.

“This leaves NGOs in the unenviable position of trying to raise human rights issues, which are largely ignored by Tehran. Unless Washington and the other powers include human rights, this will not change,” Pipes said.

Daniels believes NGOs and the U.N. could play a role.

“There may be steps remaining for pushing for international bodies to review his case for what appear to be irregularities and a violation of international norms. While these may not be binding measures, it could force Iran to give an account for the charges on which Saeed is being held and could lead to an avenue by which his conviction or sentencing could be overturned,” Daniels said.

However, Daniels noted actions on the non-governmental level have had little impact on Iran.

“Many of these options have been pursued to no avail, but the injustice in this case demands that the efforts to see his release come should continue. While it appears that the huge amount of effort so far has fallen on deaf ears, it is important to remember that God, who ultimately moves on these decisions, does hear. So the appeals before that throne should continually be made by His people,” Daniels said.

Sekulow believes that reaching out to corporations that do business in Iran could become an avenue to build more interest in Abedini’s case.

“We’re looking at learning how we can positively work with the businesses that may be gaining from the sanctions being lifted. We’re not looking to do anything negatively but to see how we can positively let those people who they work with in Iran … see what can be done to get this American released,” Sekulow said.

Daniels agrees with Sekulow that the concept of corporations acting on Abedini’s interest has potential.

“Iran is slowly becoming increasingly integrated with the global economy. So if there were corporations willing to call for tangible improvements on rights issues (the release of Abedini) as part of their bargaining to pursue business ventures, that may be leveraged to help move the decision makers towards releasing Saeed,” Daniels said.

Mark Durie, an adjunct fellow at Australia’s Center for the Study of Islam and Other Faiths, is skeptical that corporate pressure can succeed, because Iran’s “business interests” have limited power.

“The potential problems with this suggestion are twofold:

  • one is that Iranian business people generally do not have that much leverage with the regime. Indeed for them to lobby on behalf of a Christian in prison could be personally dangerous for them.
  • Iran is not an open and free society in which it is open to people to lobby their government on such matters,” Durie said.

Pipes believes that, ultimately, the movement to free the American pastor will have to come from within Iran.

Sekulow said the American government and its people both need to be pressing Iran for Abedini’s release.

WND reported in December that Saeed Abedini’s wife, Nagmeh Abedini, testified before a House subcommittee hearing on human rights. The hearing was chaired by Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., who observed the injustice of the pastor’s jail time.

“Pastor Abedini is an American citizen, but he was told he could re-enter Iran to carry on his relief work. The Iranian government offered him safe entry. He accepted the Iranian government’s offer for safe passage, but the Iranian government hasn’t kept its promise,” Smith said.

Smith said “the fact that they moved him to the more dangerous prison shows that they knew he would be an important factor in the negotiations.”

“He’s an American citizen, and he remains in an absolute hell-hole in Iran. We can’t waste this opportunity.”

Nagmeh Abedini has announced she plans to attend the sixth annual Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy in February.

“This will give me a worldwide platform to speak out about religious freedom issues and Christian persecution,” she said.

Abedini first was held in Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison and later was transferred to an even worse location – the 22,000-inmate Rajai Shahr, home to drug dealers, murderers and rapists. He was working in Iran under a government-approved building plan when he was arrested in 2012.

Shocking Testimony – Benghazi is Hillary Clinton’s Fault

http://eaglerising.com/3061/shocking-testimony-benghazi-hillary-clintons-fault/#mAdtROfFsWkSQCs6.99

By / 21 November  2013

A shocking new piece of testimony has come out of the hearings on the  Benghazi attack, and congressional Republicans are none too happy with what  they’ve learned.

Georgia Representative, Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA) recently gave  an interview to CNN where he went over some of the information the House  Intelligence Subcommittee has learned in its investigation into what went on  that fateful September 11, 2011 night. CNN

As a faithful liberal lapdog, CNN of course, leads with what may be the least  important part of the interchange – Rep. Westmoreland does not think that the  Obama administration orchestrated a “complete cover-up” of the Benghazi attack.  This isn’t unimportant, but it’s not the “most important” thing Rep.  Westmoreland said.

The most important part of the interview comes buried at the end –

Westmoreland said the committee is looking into why a directive was  released on August 11 telling the personnel in Benghazi that “you are on your  own.”

The compound itself is not set up for protection,” Westmoreland said,  adding that the CIA operatives said “they couldn’t believe those guys were over  there as unprepared and unequipped as they were.”

Why did the State Department leave the people in Benghazi to fend for  themselves, even as they were told by several different personnel members that Benghazi  was not defensible, and was wide open to attack? Moreover, the State  Department had actionable intelligence telling them that al-Qaeda was  targeting the Benghazi consulate, and that they would be launching their attack  soon.

BloodCNN also quickly papers over the fact that  Westmoreland clearly articulates that “everyone” (implying the White House, the  State Department and the intelligence community) knew that it was a terrorist  attack almost from the get go. “I don’t think there was any doubt that they  knew it was a coordinated attack,” Westmoreland said. This means that  the State Department and the White House deliberately lied to the American  people about what had happened in Benghazi. Even worse, they railroaded an  innocent civilian and laid the blame for the attack and the deaths that resulted  from the attack at his feet. He even went to prison for his part in producing  his YouTube film, “the  Innocence of Muslims.”

Mohammed Movie

These two implications – that the State Department purposefully left the  Benghazi consulate out in the line of fire, and the fact that the administration  lied to cover up what really happened — are the most important parts of this  story. Our government put American citizens in harm’s way for no good reason,  and then they lied to try to keep the blood off their own hands. It’s  disgusting.

Whatever the results of the Intelligence Subcommittee’s investigation, the  obvious conclusion is that, at the end of the day, Hillary Clinton is to blame  for the Benghazi debacle. She was in charge at the State Department, she is  responsible for the denied requests of more manpower, and she is ultimately  responsible for the lives lost in the attack.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton make one hell of a team. If you need to hurt  America – they’re the first ones you should call.

Obama leaves American POW Sgt. Bowe Robert Bergdahl to Rot in Afghanistan – Provides Only Excuses

According to our President, the United States is still on schedule to hand over security to the Afghan government authorities in 2014.

Many Americans do not know, or have forgotten, American POW Sgt. Bowe Robert Bergdahl. Sgt. Bergdahl’s capture was not the media event we experienced like the highly publicized rescue of Jessica Lynch during her 30 day capture/imprisonment. However, it has been over four years since Sgt. Bergdahl’s June 30, 2009 capture and imprisonment in Afghanistan by a Taliban-affiliated insurgent group. It is time America demanded his release and return to his family.

Sgt. Bowe Robert Bergdahl

At the September 20, 2013 Pentagon ceremony commemorating Americas POW/MIA’s, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel proclaimed, “Our hearts today are with the Bergdahl family. Using our military, intelligence, and diplomatic tools, the United States is continuing its strong efforts to secure Sergeant Bergdahl’s’ safe release.” US Central Command confirmed, “we are still actively looking for him and following leads wherever we can get them.”

After four years of Hillary Clinton and a changing of the guard to John Kerry, the State Department is less vocal about its efforts to secure Bergdahl’s release. Apparently, State is still miffed by the Bergdahl Family decision to go public about their son’s ongoing imprisonment. My guess is—much like Benghazi—the Obama administration wanted this all kept within the federal family.

It has been widely reported that the Taliban affiliated Haqqanis holding Sgt. Bergdahl have demanded the release of Guantanamo detainees before they will agree to returning the 27 year old Bergdahl to his family in America. On May 23, 2013, President Obama lifted a moratorium on Gitmo detainees transfer to Yemen. Currently, ninety detainees at Gitmo are cleared for release. To date, none have been released or transferred.

Many in Congress including Senator John McCain oppose a prisoner exchange to bring Bowe Bergdahl home. Apparently, McCain feels a better deal can be struck with the Taliban. A deal that does not release dangerous terrorists out into the world community. Perhaps McCain forgets the deal he struck with his captors to secure his release.

President Obama has yet to publicly acknowledge and commit to bringing Sgt. Bergdahl home. Where is Senator McCain on that?

Yet last month, a sealed plea deal was accepted by the US Department of Justice in the case of one Eric Harroun, a US national and army veteran. Harroun, a Muslim covert had been charged with providing material support to a terrorist group and faced life in prison for fighting alongside an al-Qaeda affiliate group in Syria. He pled guilty to an obscure law regulating munitions exports, was sentenced to time served, a nominal fine, and still maintains—as part of the plea deal–his voting rights and right to bear arms. All to cover President Obama’s butt.

Harroun considers his prosecution and conviction a betrayal by his government. Really? I wonder how Sergeant Bergdahl is feeling about his government’s loyalty and dedication to HIS rights.

The war in Afghanistan continues to wind down. For years, the United States has been releasing Afghan detainees from military prisons in Afganhistan. This has been going on periodically, every year, since Sgt. Bergdahl was captured. So why is Bergdahl not home today? My very real fear is—like so many others—Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl may be left behind.

This is one of those occasions that I feel great shame for our country. Great shame. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is our son, America. He deserves better than a politically correct quote form the Secretary of Defense. He sure as hell deserves more attention than President Obama and his press gave to Trayvon Martin.

Bring Sergeant Bergdahl home now.

Obama Disarms Americans While Arming the World

As President Barack Obama has outwardly attempted to curtail Americans’ Constitutional Second Amendment right to bear arms, his Administration has approved huge increases in defense spending and export sales. The Administration is now seeking to eliminate stringent State Department controls on exports and foreign licensing of dozens of categories of weapons and technology from the United States Munitions List (USML) by transferring control to the pro-business Commerce Department.

In spite of the Government Accountability Office (GAO) warnings this change could increase terrorist access to dangerous weapons, the Administration claims this “reform” would enhance “the competitiveness of key United States manufacturing and technology sectors.”

It may seem hypocritical to tighten gun control at home and flood the world with weapons. But since Obama was elected president, Democrats have eliminated Republicans’ advantage in collecting defense industry campaign contributions.

President Obama has tried to push Congress into passing extensive domestic gun control legislation. In Obama’s first four years in office he also used his regulatory powers for the federal government to conduct about the same number of background checks on gun owners and prospective buyers as George W. Bush’s in his first six years in office.

Declaring a national gun control crisis after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in January 2013, the Administration issued 23 executive orders directing federal agencies to “improve knowledge of the causes of firearm violence, what might help prevent it, and how to minimize its burden on public health.” According to the Institute of Medicine, “One of these orders directed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to identify the most pressing problems in firearm violence a committee tasked with developing a potential research agenda that focuses on the causes of, possible interventions to, and strategies to minimize the burden of firearm-related violence.”

It seems clear that the goal of this Presidential Executive Order is to instruct the CDC to fund medical research to “prove” that gun owners are afflicted with some pathological disease or mental defect.

The President may have been visibly advocating gun control in America, but he has been a huge cheerleader for expanding the American defense industry. Since 2008, U.S. defense spending grew by 25% to $900 billion; defense exports grew by 30% to $73 billion; and foreign licensing agreements grew 46% to approximately $50 billion.

Prior to Barack Obama, Republicans dominated campaign contributions from the defense industry. But despite John McCain’s reputation as a defense hawk, Obama pocketed twice as much from the defense industry as McCain in 2008. Over the last three elections, the Democrats have pulled even with Republicans in campaign contributions by raising $32 million from the defense industry.

But with the Budget Sequestration expected to cause U.S. defense spending to fall to $820 billion over the next three years, the boom times for the defense industry seemed at risk. This may explain the Obama Administration’s enthusiasm for defense industry Export Control Reform. Given that the U.S. already accounts for 80% of the global market for items currently covered by the restrictive USML, eliminating State Department restrictive reviews would quickly ramp up defense industry orders.

In 2011, the most recent year a breakdown of statistics are available, the U.S. defense industry booked foreign arms sales worth over $66.3 billion, representing 78.7% of all global arms exports. The next closest competitor was Russia, with 5.6% of the world arms market. The State Department approved export licenses that year under 20 categories from the USML worth $44.2 billion. The largest categories by dollar value were aircraft, $17.2 billion; military electronics, $15.2 billion; fire and guidance control equipment, $2.4 billion; tanks and military vehicles, $1.7 billion; spacecraft systems and associated equipment, $1.4 billion; and ammunition and ordnance, $1.1 billion.

Despite GAO concerns that reform could increase terrorist’s access to sophisticated weapons, the Administration wants to switch two dozen categories of weapons from rigorous U.S. State Department oversight under the USML to the export-friendly Commerce Department Control List. The White House acknowledges, “At the end of this process, we anticipate that a significant percentage of the items that are transferred off of the USML would be permitted to be exported without a license.”

It seems hypocritical to simultaneously tighten guns control in the U.S. and flood the world with weapons. But Barack Obama and the Democrats figured out that the big campaign contributions regarding guns comes from the defense industry, not individual Americans who worry about the loss of their Second Amendment rights.

Obama Appeases Taliban – Releases 5 High Profile Gitmo Detainees

by http://freedomoutpost.com/2013/07/obama-appeases-taliban-releases-5-high-profile-gitmo-detainees/#ixzz2agNdXFjI

While the media remains obsessed with Weiner’s sexcapades, there is actually some serious news happening around the world. Though it is not being reported in very many places, the U.S. has apparently released 5 inmates from Guantanamo Bay in order to get those peaceful negotiations with Afghanistan and The Taliban off to a roaring start. Don’t worry though. The U.S. has made all 5 released inmates promise to be good boys.

YNet News Reports:

Without much publicity or official announcements, the United States released five Guantanamo Bay detainees as a nod of willingness to open peace talks in Afghanistan. After officials in Kabul expressed desire for negotiations, the Obama administration released five members of the Taliban who were detained at the US detention center.

A top US official said that the prisoners were released under the condition that they will not engage in any violent activity. While it is clear that they are guilty of crime, the benefit in releasing them—the potential withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan by the summer of 2014—is greater than the risk. The US announced it will attempt to negotiate peace talks with the Taliban and Afghanistan government officials some months ago.

This gesture from the US government was a departure from the Obama administration’s policy of zero tolerance to negotiations with terrorists and releasing prisoners; thus, in preparation for talks with Afghan officials, the US state department redefined the Taliban as an organization that is no longer included in the US enemy list.

Releasing the detainees from Guantanamo Bay serves another purpose for President Obama: The more prisoners released from the camp, the likelier it is for Congress to approve shutting down the facility altogether—a campaign promise which Obama he has been trying to realize since first being elected in 2008.

It appears that we have absolutely no reason to worry. They have been released under the condition that they engage in no violent activity. That’s a relief. I realize that they are former terrorists but they have surely been rehabilitated. They will probably all go to work in the private sector now and be fine upstanding citizens.

And furthermore, Obama does not negotiate with terrorists. He has a zero-tolerance policy for that. Since our government no longer sees The Taliban as a terrorist group then I should not worry about that at all. They are the good guys.

Is anyone else buying this load of crap? Come on YNet, I know you are journalists, but tell it like it is. We can’t get this news in our own country so we are counting on you. I will tell it like it is.

I for one do want to see Guantanamo closed but it’s not for the same reasons as many. The place is basically a country club for alleged Muslim terrorists. Do some research. It is not a corrections facility as much as it is a “political correctness” facility.

Obama can claim that he doesn’t negotiate with terrorists because he doesn’t view any of the radical Islamic groups as terrorists. But let’s look at some facts:

These are just the first several things that popped into my head and I could literally list dozens more. If this story was really anything positive then the mainstream media would be all over it. Obama knows that this story will cause controversy and has purposely tried to keep it out of the media. My guess is that they have been told to ignore it. The Obama administration is trying to hide it and was hoping that no one would notice.

Well we noticed.

But honestly we already know that you negotiate with terrorists.

I am continually embarrassed by our foreign policy. Between Horseface and The Dictator we will be very lucky not to trigger World War III before we get to the 2016 elections.

I realize that this was a gesture of good faith but when talking to terrorists I find that another gesture tends to work much better…

I am not someone that most Americans would want in The White House. I have anger issues. I don’t know why but when terrorists want to bring America to its knees I tend to take offense to that.

But if you want to compare my policy to Obama’s it is pretty simple. If my finger was on the button that he controls…Allah would have long run out of virgins. He’d be passing out sheep by now.

Negotiating with terrorists is a sign of weakness and the world laughs at our president while planning more jihad in America.

I happened to notice a comment on one of my blog posts today. The guy was basically calling me a drama queen and saying that I was overreacting in my article. I can’t help it. I am angry. My opinion is that someone needs to start doing a little overreacting and we need a lot less of this “let’s just see how it plays out” attitude.

This country is in trouble and you have to pick sides now. That “sit back and wait” attitude is exactly why we are at this point and it’s time to show some fight America. There is no more time for apathy. Primetime TV can wait. Your country needs you now.

Like most of my rants, this one is likely destined for internet obscurity but I can’t reach the heart of Americans by coddling them and telling them it’s OK.

Because it’s not OK.

It’s not OK to negotiate with terrorists and it’s OK to be angry about it.

If you don’t think that the Taliban is about terrorism and don’t think they are still very much our enemy you need to talk to one of our young Marines who has been fortunate enough to come home.

Obama spits in the face of everything that this country was built on and everything that this country hopes to someday return to.

We have not yet begun to fight.

UPDATE: Other outlets are carrying the story. Reuters has this piece. Breitbart published this article. The Taliban has previously offered to free U.S. soldier Pfc. Bowe R. Bergdahl, who has been held captive since 2009, in exchange for five Gitmo Prisoners.

Is This Man The Mastermind Behind The Benghazi Cover Up?

by

National Security Council speechwriter B

I wrote yesterday about how the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) knew that the attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 was a terrorist attack by Al-Qaeda operatives. We know the Obama White House put out the story for nearly a week that it was just Muslims upset over a benign YouTube video. In spite of knowing what was going on and having the ability to intervene, the Obama administration did nothing to stop or assist Americans who they knew were being attacked by Al-Qaeda. Instead, they chose to cover it up and intimidate witnesses. Stephen F. Hayes has an excellent piece at the Weekly Standard titled The Benghazi Talking Points, in which he fingers the man he believes is the main person behind the Benghazi cover-up, Ben Rhodes.

Of course, one would immediately have to wonder about those who would be around a man who has vowed to stand with the Muslims instead of America. If you recall, Barack Obama made a speech in Cairo, Egypt to an audience which included the Muslim Brotherhood, in which he distorted the Qur’an to put it in a good light and then attempted to make out like Islam had made great contributions to both America and the world. That speech was written by Ben Rhodes, Obama’s foreign policy speechwriter and now a part of a his National Security Council.

Hayes writes in his article about the talking points that were first put out to officials. He writes:

The talking points were first distributed to officials in the interagency vetting process at 6:52 p.m. on Friday. Less than an hour later, at 7:39 p.m., an individual identified in the House report only as a “senior State Department official” responded to raise “serious concerns” about the draft. That official, whom The Weekly Standard has confirmed was State Department spokesman Victoria Nuland, worried that members of Congress would use the talking points to criticize the State Department for “not paying attention to Agency warnings.”

In an attempt to address those concerns, CIA officials cut all references to Ansar al Sharia and made minor tweaks. But in a follow-up email at 9:24 p.m., Nuland wrote that the problem remained and that her superiors—she did not say which ones—were unhappy. The changes, she wrote, did not “resolve all my issues or those of my building leadership,” and State Department leadership was contacting National Security Council officials directly. Moments later, according to the House report, “White House officials responded by stating that the State Department’s concerns would have to be taken into account.” One official—Ben Rhodes, The Weekly Standard is told, a top adviser to President Obama on national security and foreign policy—further advised the group that the issues would be resolved in a meeting of top administration officials the following morning at the White House.

hayestp.img_assist_custom-497x1400

There is little information about what happened at that meeting of the Deputies Committee. But according to two officials with knowledge of the process, Mike Morrell, deputy director of the CIA, made broad changes to the draft afterwards. Morrell cut all or parts of four paragraphs of the six-paragraph talking points—148 of its 248 words (see Version 2 above). Gone were the reference to “Islamic extremists,” the reminders of agency warnings about al Qaeda in Libya, the reference to “jihadists” in Cairo, the mention of possible surveillance of the facility in Benghazi, and the report of five previous attacks on foreign interests.

Ed Lasky writes concerning Rhodes, “Ben Rhodes should be called to account for trying to divert blame away from Islamic terrorists and the Obama team members whose feckless negligence led to the Benghazi massacre.”

“I have previously written about Ben Rhodes and his role in the Obama White House,” writes Lasky. “It is shameful that this ‘kid’ (he is all of 35) has been given any responsibility at all in our government. In ‘Does it bother anyone that this person is the Deputy National Security Adviser?’ I noted his problematic background for someone given so much power by Obama. But then again he does specialize in fiction-writing. He earned a master’s degree in fiction-writing from New York University just a few years ago . He did not have a degree in government, diplomacy, national security; nor has he served in the CIA, or the military. He was toiling away not that long ago on a novel called ‘The Oasis of Love” about a mega church in Houston, a dog track, and a failed romance. ”

Lasky concludes that Ben Rhodes is the man that attempted to whitewash Islamists and the Obama administration, not only in the Cairo speech, but in the talking points promoted by the Obama White House in the days following the attack on Benghazi that left four Americans dead.

I guess we’ll wait and see if he is even called as a witness this by the House in this week’s hearings.
