Joe Scarborough announces that ‘Jesus never once talked about abortion,’ blasts pro-life Christians for ‘perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to one issue’

Joe Scarborough — host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” — said Friday that “Jesus never once talked about abortion” in the New Testament, and he accused pro-life Christians of “heresy,” saying they’re “perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to one issue.”

“Morning Joe” ran a video of Republican South Carolina state Sen. Katrina Shealy, who calls herself “pro-life,” speaking against a near-total abortion ban in the state — which was defeated Thursday. In the clip, Shealy said those in favor of an abortion ban without exceptions for rape and incest are “miscommunicating with God — or maybe you’re just not communicating with him at all.”

Scarborough lauded Shealy’s speech and then accused pro-life Christians of “heresy” and suggested that Jesus doesn’t necessarily oppose abortion because the Bible doesn’t record him having said the word.

“As a Southern Baptist, I grew up reading the Bible — maybe a backslidden Baptist, but I still know the Bible. Jesus never once talked about abortion, never once! And it was happening back in ancient times, it was happening during, in his time!” Scarborough said angrily. “Never once mentioned it, and for people perverting the gospel of Jesus Christ down to one issue, it’s heresy.”

He then ripped pro-life Christians again, saying they’re “using” Jesus to force raped children to carry pregnancies to term, noting the recent case of the 10-year-old Ohio rape victim who traveled to Indiana to get an abortion since she couldn’t get one in her home state.

“If you don’t believe me, if that makes you angry, why don’t you do something you haven’t done in a long time?” Scarborough said sarcastically. “Open the Bible, open the New Testament, read the red letters. You won’t see it there. And yet there are people who are using Jesus as a shield to make 10-year-old raped girls go through a living and breathing hell here on Earth. They’ve also conveniently overlooked the parts of the New Testament where Jesus talks about taking care of the needy. Taking care of those who are helpless, who live a hopeless life. Because they believe, these state legislators believe, that life begins at fertilization and ends at childbirth.”

The Dems are proud of the ‘dignity’ they showed during Trump’s address to Congress?

Shows you how different impressions of the same event can be. I didn’t leave the room once during the president’s address to a joint session of Congress Tuesday. But if I had to assess the behavior of the Democrats in attendance based on the available evidence, which was the occasional cutaway to the audience, the word I would use to describe it would be petulant.

Apparently I’m not alone in that perception. The Wall Street Journal’s James Freeman made this observation:

[House Minority Leader Nancy] Pelosi and her colleagues obviously decided before the event that they would provide television cameras with reaction shots expressing their disapproval or even contempt for the President. He caught them off guard by delivering a big-hearted, moving and gracious address, but they seemed unable to react in real time. The pantsuit caucus and their equally grumpy male Democratic colleagues continued to sit, frown and offer tepid applause or none at all even for lines that would be objectionable.

For those who might beg to differ, Freeman provides a tweet by Pelosi several hours before the speech indicating that the wearing of white was intended as a thumb in Donald Trump’s eye:

Nevertheless, there are those who saw the Democrats’ behavior differently. One commentator went so far as to describe their deportment as dignified. That would be “conservative” TV host Joe Scarborough, who had Pelosi on as a guest yesterday. Maybe he planted the seed but when it was Pelosi’s turn to speak again, she picked up on the dignity meme:

What I was concerned is, people might boo, because, for all of the dignity that we wanted to bring to the address of the president, the fact is, I had no idea he was going to make an assault on public education, that he was going to have nothing positive to say about immigration, that he’s going to blow up the deficit. I will grant that the Democrats stopped short of giving Donald Trump a Bronx cheer, but raising their arms to make their thumbs-down gestures more visible comes pretty close.

Morning Joe: The Media’s Job Is Thought Control; Trump Is Trespassing on Our Turf [VIDEO]

thought control

Joe Scarborough’s co-host accused Donald Trump of undermining the media and implementing thought control —”That’s Our Job.”

In case you thought they didn’t know what they were doing, here’s Mika Brzezinski forthrightly stating on Morning Joe that the problem with Donald Trump attacking the media is that he is doing thought control, which is “our job.”

Here’s as transcript of the exchange, from grabien:

Joe Scarborough: “Exactly. That is exactly what I hear. What Yamiche said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, ‘Yeah you guys are going crazy. He’s doing — what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.’”

Mika Brzezinski: “Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job.”picture7

engineeringBrzezinski thinks it is the media’s job to “actually control exactly what people think” and doesn’t even hide it!Mantra

According to grabien, “The comment failed to raise any eyebrows from her co-panelists.” Joe Scarborough also mentioned Donald Trump calling the media “the enemy of the people,” and claimed that using the phrase made him sound “like Mussolini or Lenin” and ” like a dictator in training.”

But by not objecting to Brzezinski’s claim that the media’s job is thought control, he has proven to anyone listening to his show that he, and the rest of the media, is indeed the enemy of the people! I think, for most Americans, an institution that believes it alone has the right to control people’s thoughts is, by definition, an enemy of the people. They want to enslave us and consider it their right to do so. And, if Donald Trump is doing “our job” by controlling thoughts, then he is also doing the media’s job by becoming a dictator. The media believes that the main problem with a dictator is that he usurps the media’s role in society to engage in though control.enemedia

Nothing is uglier than the media’s sense of entitlement. Media privilege is on display.

When this arrogance is taken seriously, it is impossible not to feel grateful for Donald Trump even if you disagree with him. The media monopoly has been broken by him! He has thus increased freedom of thought in America simply by offering an alternative account.

It seems to me that the media spends a lot more time accusing Donald Trump of violating media prerogatives rather than producing an argument that shows why he is wrong. They seem more concerned with the fact Donald Trump dares to disagree with them more than with the substance of what he says. As a result, they make Trump look like a hero—a champion for freedom of thought against the media monolith. They are effectively campaigning for Trump’s reelection.

The Liberal Left is Starting to Turn on President Obama

Scarborough admits Obama wasn’t ready to be president; sold to us like bag of chips

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough is waking up to the fact that despite all the hype that accompanied President Barack Obama when he made his 2008 presidential run, he wasn’t ready for primetime.

“Barack Obama has proven over the past five years that he wasn’t ready to be president of the United States,” Scarborough said on his show Tuesday, according to Newsmax. “And he proves it still today.”

Scarborough said Obama “came out of nowhere” as a freshman senator, and “a couple years later, people elected him president of the United States.”

Obama served less than a decade in the Illinois Senate with a less-than-stellar record that included numerous instances of voting “present.”

He followed that distinguished service with less than a full term in the U.S. Senate, also unimpressive. Most of his time there seemed to be spent running for the presidency.

Yet, solely on the basis that “Barack Obama was against the [Iraq] war,” the Democratic Party “went out and sold him like he was a bag of potato chips, they marketed him [and] he becomes president of the United States,” Scarborough said.

To illustrate his point, the TV host challenged guest Donny Deutsch to “name me a major piece of legislation that Barack Obama passed in the United States Senate, that would suggest that he knew how to work in the United States Senate and would be an effective president of the United States.”

Neither Deutsch nor any of Scarborough’s other guests could.

“You have people that come out of nowhere and get in the Senate. They don’t want to be in the Senate. They don’t want to work for the people that hired them. Immediately, they start running for president of the United States a week after they get to the Senate,” Scarborough said, referring not only to Obama but also U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, who Scarborough described Wednesday as a “phony narcissist.”

Scarborough’s comparison of Cruz’s meteoric rise to Obama’s is misplaced.

The president has demonstrated time after time that he tends to take the path of least resistance. When he spoke against the Iraq war, he was among the majority of lawmakers — including many in his own party.

Cruz’s crusade to defund Obamacare is in opposition to his own party leaders. An aide to U.S. Sen. John McCain said that his boss “f**king hates” Cruz, according to The Daily Caller, and The New York Times reported that U.S. Peter King, R-N.Y., called Cruz a “fraud” who promotes “government terrorism.”

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz described Cruz, a former student, as “off-the-charts brilliant.” Obama has steadfastly refused to release any of his college records.

Prior to being a lawmaker, Obama worked in a law firm and as a community organizer. Cruz actually ran things, directing the Texas Solicitor General’s Office for five years, serving as his state’s first Hispanic solicitor general and the youngest in the United States.

Cruz also served as the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, and in the private sector, Cruz led the Morgan, Lewis and Bockius law firm’s U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice while a partner there.

But did I mention? Obama was also a community organizer.

“You can go one after another after another,” Scarborough said. “This doesn’t work. The Barack Obama way does not work.”

I agree, but Cruz is not a part of this ilk.

In 2008, GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was more qualified for the presidency. She had successfully run a city and a state. Obama, on the other hand, had only run for office.
