All across America, there remains a divide amongst Americans. Democrats continue to push for amnesty for illegal immigrants, moderate Republicans seek permission to cave to Democrat demands and Tea Partiers and other assorted conservatives who value the rule of law demand a plan to halt illegal immigration- a plan that does not reward those who came here in violation of our laws.

On Thursday, TPNN’s Tim Constantine spoke Dutch Martin of the black conservative group, Project 21, and discussed the debate raging over illegal immigration in America.

Martin is married to an immigrant who immigrated to the United States legally and blasted the Obama Administration and those calling for blanket amnesty, saying, “[They’re] spitting on my wife’s naturalization certificate and every other foreign-born naturalized citizen who played by the rules and became legal residents and naturalized American citizens. It’s basically a slap in the face to them.”

Martin explained that his wife was furious when she discovered that Obama hopes to grant amnesty to those who came here illegally. “They should play by the rules like I did,” Martin recalled her saying. Martin noted that his wife, who served as a paralegal and with suburb professional qualifications, had to jump through hoops to immigrate legally as the Obama Administration welcomes in gang members and other nefarious types from Central and South America.

Constantine explained that he was a staunch supporter of legal immigration, but Martin countered that when one tries to explain the distinction, it’s a non-starter for liberals who are guided by zealotry and blind dogma.

“You’re trying to have a rational discussion with liberals. I would rather bang by head up against a brick wall rather than try to have a rational discussion with liberals… because you cannot, I repeat, you cannot reason with them. They are zombies; they are so drunk off [Obama’s} Kool-Aid, it’s repulsive.”

Immigration reform fizzles as campaign issue for Democrats

Immigration reform has fizzled as an issue for Democrats, who are barely mentioning it on the campaign trail despite making the issue their top domestic priority in 2013 and 2014.

Latino voters, who are the most energized about overhauling the nation’s immigration laws, will have little impact on the battle for control of the Senate, with the possible exception of Sen. Mark Udall’s (D) race in Colorado.

White working-class voters will play a more important role in the midterm election compared to the 2012 presidential election. They are not energized by immigration reform. Instead, they are concerned about downward pressure on wages, which the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has linked to higher immigration levels.Coincidently, President Obama’s support among white voters without college degrees has steadily eroded.

Democratic strategists admit their party’s record on immigration reform will do little to help candidates this year, although they predict it could be a potent weapon in the 2016 presidential election.

“In light of turnout models it’s probably not as strong an issue as it would be in presidential years,” said Steve Jarding, a Democratic strategist and former advisor to several senators from conservative leaning states such as former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.).

“I still think Democrats have fumbled this issue because they allow the issue to be played on Republican terms,” he said. “Republicans are trying to suggest immigration is the reason wages are suppressed and it’s a racial issue. I don’t like it. That’s what they’re doing cynically. They’re saying when you get immigration, you suppress the wages of non-immigrants, i.e. white people.”

He said Democrats need to “put everybody in the same boat” and steer the debate away from race.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has led the effort in Congress to link high immigration flows to stagnant wages but many Republican lawmakers have not joined in because the business community wants more guest workers and visas for high-skilled employees.

hurt them among white working-class voters who are slipping away from Obama.

Polling by Rasmussen, a GOP survey group, showed working and middle-class Americans oppose large expansions of immigration flows. People earning under $30,000 prefer a reduction in immigration by a 3-1 margin, according to the group’s data.

A Pew Research poll showed that 69 percent of the public believes the federal government should restrict and control people coming to live in the United States more than it already does.

The Senate-passed immigration reform bill, which all Democrats supported, would substantially increase legal immigration levels.

Polls showing public opposition to higher rates of immigration have been obscured by other surveys — many commissioned by business groups — showing a majority of Americans generally favor immigration reform.

A recent automated survey by Harper Polling of more than 500 likely voters in 26 states found that 86 percent of Republicans and 79 percent of independents say the immigration system needs to be fixed. Majorities also said Congress should act on the issue this year, according to the poll.

But such general survey data often do not distinguish between various approaches to immigration reform such as increasing border security, boosting legal immigration flows and granting a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

Democratic strategists who specialize in the concerns of white working-class voters say immigration reform does little to mobilize them.

“In southwest Virginia nobody talks about immigration. They’re talking about how they’re getting screwed economically,” said David “Mudcat” Saunders, a Democratic strategist.

“Kids are fleeing Honduras but at the same time kids are fleeing small-time, third-tier markets in the United States to go to Metropolitan markets. People see their own kids leaving here in the U.S.,” he said.

“Democrats talk about the morality of rescuing these kids from Central America. I’m for all that. At the same time, what about the kids fleeing small-town and rural America because there are no economic opportunities?” he added.

With the exception of Udall, Democratic candidates for Senate realize that immigration is not a driving issue in the midterm election. They instead are emphasizing the issues of economic fairness, which the Senate Democratic leadership has made the centerpiece of its 2014 election platform.

Jarding, who has advised Sens. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Tim Johnson (D-S.D.), said that is a smart strategy.

“If anything, I would argue that you push it harder. They need to convince middle-class voters that they’ve been fighting for them while Republicans have been obstructionists,” he said.

Ruy Teixeira, a senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, who has studied the Democratic Party’s relationship with white working-class voters said the real reason for their alienation is the poor economy.

“The ratings have been pretty bad. There’s been a falloff in his approval rating among all demographics but it’s been particularly sharp among white non-college folks,” he said of Obama’s approval rating. “The continued problems with the economy have really sucked [up] the air.”

Teixeira said white working-class voters are concerned about stagnant wages but they do not connect the problem with higher immigration rates.

He called immigration reform a “non-issue” among white working-class voters.

CBO estimated the average wages for the entire labor force would be 0.1 percent lower in 2023 if the Senate’s comprehensive immigration reform bill became law. But it projected wages would be 0.5 percent higher in 2033 under the bill compared to current law.

Udall stands out as the exception among vulnerable Democrats as someone who has made immigration reform a prominent issue in his campaign.

He called on Obama to slow the rate of deportations and bashed his opponent, Rep. Cory Gardner (R-Colo), for not supporting comprehensive immigration reform similar to what the Senate passed in 2013.

Unlike in other Senate battlegrounds, Latino voters make up a large chunk of the electorate. About 21 percent of the state’s population is Hispanic.

Mike McSherry, a Republican strategist who formerly served as deputy political director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said the mass migration of unaccompanied minors across the Texas border bolsters undermines the Democratic argument for comprehensive reform.

He said the growing crisis bolsters the argument made by many Republicans that border security should take priority over a creating a path to citizenship, a key element of the Senate bill.

“It’s easier for Republicans now because they can say we want to secure the border first,” he said.

Many Senate Republicans voted against comprehensive immigration reform legislation because they said it did not guarantee total border security before granting legal status to millions of illegal immigrants.

House Republicans now say they will not act on the issue because they cannot trust the president to enforce the law.

Former Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano claimed last year that the Southern border was secure. But that assertion has now come into question amidst a migratory surge of unaccompanied minors from Central America.

OBAMA SHOES: Illegals Are Wearing ‘Obama Shoes’

According to Dennis Michael Lynch at DML Daily, some of the illegal immigrants surging across the U.S. border from Central America and creating a growing humanitarian crisis may be wearing tennis shoes emblazoned with images in praise of President Barack Obama.

Lynch explains “I can say the agents who sent these to me is among a handful of agents who have sent me accurate information over the past few months.”

Lynch adds that the agent works at a processing center in South Texas that is managing the massive inflow of illegal immigrants.

President Obama, tired of waiting for Congress to act on immigration reform, is currently exploring ways to address issues with Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

During an interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest explained that the Obama administration was getting impatient with Congress.

“[W]e’re not just going to sit around and wait interminably for Congress,” he explained. “We’ve been waiting a year already. The president has tasked his Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson with reviewing what options are available to the president, what is at his disposal using his executive authority to try to address some of the problems that have been created by our broken immigration system.”

“In other words, MORE TYRANNY. Now he isn’t hiding it. He is proud of the fact that he thinks himself King Obama, and doers not have to answer to the Constitution.” JB

Earnest added that, although Obama was exploring executive action, it was on immigration reform.

“That’s why we’re trying to focus on getting that done,” he concluded.

Obama has been heavily criticized after his 2012 executive decision to defer the deportations of some young illegal immigrants, which critics argue was a key incentive for more children to cross the border illegally.

Shots Fired from Mexico to Harass Texas-US Law Enforcement

MCALLEN, Texas—A trusted law enforcement source is reporting that shots are currently being fired on the Mexican side of the U.S. border. The shots are intended to harass the increased presence of Texas law enforcement personnel.

Source: “Shots fired south of Rincon Village from Mexico. Unknown if smugglers are f***ing with the game wardens or what the deal is.” Minutes later, more information became available.

Source: “Not shooting at game wardens, but shooting to be a nuisance.”

Another trusted law enforcement source explained that the game wardens have been bringing in much higher numbers of illegal immigrants and destroying the rafts the human smugglers have been using to ferry illegal immigrants across the Rio Grande River that forms the international boundary between Texas and Mexico.

The area of the Rio Grande Valley sector where this is occurring is known as Zone 9. It is the Anzalduas area of the river border. This area has become ground zero for the border crisis.

This reporter visited the exact area two days ago and will release footage informing our readers and viewers on the hotspot.

UPDATE: Source indicates federal Fish and Wildlife agents are among the law enforcement the shooter(s) are intending to harass. Source indicates this marks the second occurrence in the area in two weeks.

Events in the Middle East, and in Iraq specifically, seem to be erupting with a brutality that few in the West have the stomach, or balls, to comprehend. Many here in the United States decry any notion that we should get involved in Iraq again, saying that the conflict is between the Shiites and the Sunnis and does not concern us. Oh, if only that were true; but upon his release by Obama in 2009, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), warned his American jailers that he would see them in New York. Given the current immigration crisis we now face, wherein the doors have been flung open for all who wish to come in, it would not be surprising if the terrorists of ISIS plan to trek to New York by way of our southern border.

In an interview with Fox News, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) stated that Texas currently has a record number of “other than Mexicans” coming across. Many of these are determined to do us harm, and Perry warned the Obama administration of this trend in 2012, saying:

“We have record high numbers of other than Mexicans being apprehended at the border. These are people that are coming from states like Syria that have substantial connections back to terrorist regimes and terrorist operations. So we’re seeing record, historic high numbers of these individuals being apprehended.”

“We flagged this issue in 2012 and have yet to even have a response as far as I know, from not just, not from the president, but not even from his administration.”

Even worse, the Mexican drug cartels are in cahoots with the terrorists and are helping to smuggle them across. Filmmaker, Chris Burgard, detailed the crisis 9 years ago in a documentary entitled BORDER. Burgard’s account:

A few years back, I was at a lunch with then Minority Leader Boehner. I had just spent several days with border law enforcement, staging on a remote East Texas ranch. The ranch wife had reported Middle Eastern men being smuggled across the river and through her ranch. The cartels sent a message to her sister on the Mexican side of the river: “Tell your sister to shut the f**k up, or we will cut her head off and take it back to Chihuahua.”

Some of the members of these drug cartels are arguably more brutal and barbaric than al-Baghdadi. It was recently reported that Mexican drug syndicate, Sinaloa, hired members of the gang, La Mara Salvatrucha (or “MS-13”), to travel from Los Angeles to recover 30 pounds of meth and $200,000 that had been stolen in St. Paul, Minnesota. Sinaloa’s drug trafficking into the Midwest has been quite lucrative and MS-13 is sadistically effective at extracting information. Two teenagers in the area found that out when they were fingered as the thieves, kidnapped, tortured and threatened

with death until the enforcers were satisfied that they were not the culprits. MS-13 presently boasts over 70,000 members all over the United States. The gang has become such an imposing force that even the pandering Obama administration classified it as an “international crime group” in 2012.

Incredibly, as Obama is enlisting law enforcement agencies to track down MS-13, he and his minions are knowingly allowing gang members to stream across the border in the current exodus. Many of them have direct ties to MS-13, but because they are teenagers they will not be deported. Instead they will be labeled as “DREAMers” and allowed to stay. In fact, the border patrol has been forbidden from enforcing the law, as they have been turned into nursemaids for thousands of illegal children. These children are receiving better care, at taxpayer expense, than even many who are homeless citizens and American kids in the U.S. foster care system.

It is clear that the Obama administration, with help from GOP enablers, has made this country increasingly more dangerous just within the last couple of weeks through their amnesty by proxy scheme. All the while, the ruling elite is trying to make it increasingly more difficult for law abiding citizens to defend themselves, as they double down in their efforts to restrict the purchase of firearms and ammunition.

The primary function of the United States government is to protect and defend American citizens. Not only is President Barack Obama failing to protect the citizenry of this country, he is knowingly, willfully and actively putting us at risk. This man should not just be impeached…he should be lead out of the White House in handcuffs!

When Obama drew a “red line” against Syria’s Bashir Assad for his (alleged) use of chemical weapons, the world witnessed proof that our paper tiger President is completely full of crap. Assad crossed that line and Obama did nothing. The message was sent loud and clear: America is a super-power no more. Thus, we have a world in absolute turmoil. Yet, the red line that is our border is being crossed on a daily basis and the ruling class is rolling out the red carpet for those who would love to destroy this country. But “what difference does it make” to a lame duck socialist? He has a security detail. When is the next tee time?

It feels as if our beautiful America is like a wounded animal surrounded on all sides by wild dogs who are ready to rip her to shreds and feast on the remains. At the same time, we have a President who is responsible for inflicting many of those wounds himself, and now he’s content to observe the carnage for his own amusement.

Third-World Detroit… A Glimpse of America’s Future

It seems the current occupant of the White House is determined to solidify his title as the “Worst President Ever”, as he is in the process of creating a crisis of mass proportions along the U.S. southern border. Throngs of illegal immigrants, most of whom are minors, are pouring over the border in search of the rainbows and unicorns that Barack Obama, Harry Reid and other demon spawn in Washington have promised. The reality that is greeting them however, involves being warehoused in cesspools of disease and hunger. In fact, the situation has become so dire, that it is now being compared to Hurricane Katrina, and Rep. Darryl Issa (R-CA) worries that many children will lose their lives trying to get here.

As thousands flood our borders daily, seeking amnesty and free handouts, they need only look at a certain city within these United States to realize what liberal promises are worth. If you want to see a lib squirm, mention the word “Detroit.” Detroit was one of the most prosperous cities in the country in the 1950s, when America’s auto industry was at its prime, but fat cat union bosses killed the goose that laid the golden egg with their desire for handouts and special favors at the expense of the industry that kept the city alive.

Detroit’s economic collapse has resulted in bankruptcy to the tune of $18 billion, as jobs and taxpayers flee the area. Even impoverished Tijuana, Mexico, had a lower unemployment rate at the end of 2012, at 7.4%, than Detroit at 10.2%. Now, languishing in blight, bankruptcy, and despair, this once-great city is no longer of any interest to Obama or his fellow Democrats. After all, if they have the votes of Detroit’s population sewn up, and it’s been run by Democrats since 1962, why put forth the resources?

An article in Crain’s Detroit Business points out that, while politicians are busy hand-wringing over young illegals, the infant mortality rate in Detroit is higher than some third world countries, including Mexico. In fact, infant mortality is the leading cause of death for children in Detroit, with violence coming in second, but when jobs are scarce so is prenatal care. These children are American citizens, but they have no political capital to the “progressive” elites, the way foreign children seeking amnesty do. In addition, overall life expectancy in Detroit is the lowest of the top 25 most populous metropolitan areas. When there is no “hope”, longevity loses its luster anyway.

This is what happens when people become accustomed to suckling at the government teat. “Progressives” of both parties are nothing but dependency pushers, and they are no better than street corner heroin dealers. They serve their own purposes and they cherish the power that dependency provides.

The time is now for the pushback. The Eric Cantor dismissal was a good start. There has been speculation that his desire to reach an amnesty agreement with Obama is what did him in. There has been further speculation that any hope for an immigration deal this year leaves with him. Don’t count on it. The momentum is on the side of “We The People”, but now is NOT the time to retreat.

This country is teetering dangerously close to the point of no return. The flood of illegals at our borders may very well help Barack Obama “fundamentally transform” America into a place where every major city mirrors Detroit. The bitter irony is that the illegal immigrants now invading our country may soon discover that the great “promised land” they once dreamed about looks very much like the tattered mess they left behind.

Obama Admin Forbids Lawmakers From Taking Photos Of Illegal Immigrant Facility

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is welcoming members of Congress and their senior staff to tour a temporary shelter being used to house illegal immigrant children — but the invite comes with a list of rules, including a suggestion that members leave their cellphones in their vehicles.

The 40-minute tour will take place Friday at the Ventura County Naval Base in Oxnard, Calif., according to the email invitation, obtained by The Daily Caller.

The tours are meant to give members and staffers an inside look at how temporary facilities are being used to house illegal immigrant children who came to the U.S. without their parents. The minors, who hail mostly from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, are being called “Unaccompanied Children,” or UACs.

Sent to members of Congress and staff by Rose Hacking, of the office of the assistant secretary of legislation at HHS, the invitation comes with the following commands:

No recording devices will be allowed (We may ask you to leave your cellphone in our vehicle)
No questions will be allowed during the tour, but questions will be addressed later
No interacting with staff and children at the shelter
We will provide photos of the facility after the tour

During the tour, ”the tour guide will detail what goes on from room to room and the services youth are provided on a daily basis,” the email invitation reads.

But one congressional staffer invited to tour the facility called the planned tours “a dog and pony show.”

“Don’t talk to anyone, don’t record anything you might happen to see, but come visit us and we’ll give you a sanitized story with only the photos and accounts we want you to have,” said the staffer, who requested anonymity.

“This isn’t some totalitarian closed society trying this tactic, this is our own government. They clearly wouldn’t be offering up this kind of dog and pony show if they weren’t hiding a very ugly truth somewhere.”

The UACs are part of an unprecedented surge of young immigrants that has overwhelmed immigration agencies at the southern Texas border.

Because of overcrowding, after being processed at the Texas border, the UACs are being transported to other facilities, such as the one at Naval Base Ventura County. FEMA is coordinating the large scale effort, with HHS handling housing and care for the UACs through the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

Friday’s tour will be the only one offered at the naval base, reads the email invite.

Numerous questions about arrangements at the facilities have been raised.

Some wonder;

How long the facilities will be used to house the UACs. So far, the Obama administration and the Department of Homeland Security have not put a timeline on it.
Others have worried that the children themselves may be in danger of falling into the hands of traffickers and criminals.
And still others worry about the quality of the conditions at the temporary facilities.

The Naval Base Ventura County currently has capacity for 230 UACs. Current occupation is at 91, leaving 139 open beds. But HHS has plans to increase the overall capacity to 575, according to a document obtained Wednesday by TheDC.

Two other military installations are being used to house UACs. Fort Sill Army base in Lawton, Oklahoma will house 600. Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio is already near its capacity of 1,200.

Another 94 non-military shelter grantees are being used to house 6,218 UACs, according to the HHS document. Housing at a government building in Baltimore, Maryland is also planned.

How the Obama administration plans to deal with the influx of UACs remains to be seen. The number apprehended so far this year is up 92 percent compared to last year, with between 200 and 250 UACs being apprehended each day since June 1.

Rather than being turned away at the U.S.-Mexico border, U.S. immigration policy requires UACs to be placed in temporary shelters. From there, federal agencies begin deportation proceedings while looking for relatives or sponsors to house them.

The administration has not been clear on how many of the UACs end up being returned to their home countries and how many end up staying in the U.S.

HHS’s Hacking did not immediately respond to TheDC’s request for comment.

SOUTH TEXAS (KRLD) – Officials say that nearly a thousand illegal immigrants a day are crossing into Texas from Mexico, an anomaly that is now being compared to Hurricane Katrina.

“How do you prepare for that?” says Don Ray, the Executive Director of the Texas Border Sheriffs Coalition. “You can’t have an influx of people like that without having an impact; I think we saw that after Katrina. It’s relocation services that are really taking place. In the case of Katrina, most of them were United States citizens or people that were here lawfully, and now you have people that aren’t here lawfully.”

Ray says that with that sort of influx of people crossing illegally into Texas from various parts of Mexico and Central America, there are public health concerns. “You have that many people in one place — you have the potential for illnesses that could spread that could have an impact on the local community.”

It’s a concern that’s shared in Nogales, Arizona, where most of the illegal immigrants captured in Texas are being shipped to temporary housing and processing facilities.

“When you put 1,000 or 1,500 people in just some little facility and they just came from another country, you never know what they’re bringing into the country,” says Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Recently the consul of Honduras to Arizona said that illegal immigrants have been complaining about getting sick from the food they’ve been receiving in detention at the facilities in Nogales.

“Complaining???????????? They are hear illegally. How about our complaint? Do the American people get a say?” JB

“They’re complaining yeah, but why don’t they compare what’s going on here to the country they came from,” says Sheriff Arpaio. “That’s why they’re coming here because of the bad conditions in other countries like Honduras and Guatemala.”

Officials with the National Border Patrol Union say conditions at the detention facilities are improving.

“I talked to the local union president there yesterday… and he told me that the conditions are getting better now that there are coast guard and FEMA doctors in place and they are monitoring everyone’s health,” says Shawn Moran, the Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council. “To be honest, he said the biggest complaint the detainees have is that they don’t like their flour tortillas — they prefer corn tortillas with their food.”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security started flying illegal immigrants to Arizona from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas last month after the number of immigrants (which include more than 48,000 children) overwhelmed the Border Patrol and law enforcement agencies.

“Flying????? Who is paying for all this? Once again we have this mess of a Socialist government shoving more of their agenda down our throats and expects us to take it. I’m tired of “taking it”. I want this mess to stop now. We cannot take the worlds poor into our homes because their country is all messed up.’

“Where are the patriots in these countries? True patriots lay down their lives for freedom. The “OBAMA-BOTS” wants to create a financial crisis so they can finish the work of converting our freedom into Socialism. They do not care about these children. All they want is the votes of the other illegals, voting illegally, to keep their sorry buts in power. Where the hell are all the other patriots wanting to restore our nation to what God designed us to be?” JB

After being released in Arizona, immigrant families were told to report to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office near where they were traveling within 15 days. But Sheriff Arpaio doesn’t think that’s happening.

“In our jails, we found that about 2,000 inmates in the past several months are in jail for several state crimes, but they’re here illegally and we found out that over and over again they’re being released to ICE and they keep coming back,” says Arpaio. “So that tells you either they’re being led out the back door or they’re being deported and they’re still coming across the border. So that’s sad when you have so many illegal aliens that committed crimes, that you have turned over and yet what happens to them, they just commit other crimes and come back to jail.”

The facilities in Nogales are being used by Federal authorities as a sort of gateway station, where young children can be checked out medically and get vaccinations. Afterwards, they will be sent to facilities setup throughout the country, including in San Antonio, Texas.

I have had the privilege of knowing many LEGAL immigrants. When you ask them how they feel about ILLEGALS you’ll get an ear full of anger. The LEGAL ones

got in line,
filed the papers,
went through the interview processes,
learned our language, and culture,
got the physicals and shots, and
WAITED until they were allowed to come here.
When they arrived they determined to merge into our culture and BECOME A CONTRIBUTING MEMBER OF SOCIETY.
They got a LEGAL Social Security Card with a number assigned they THEIR name.
They paid all taxes.
A large number of them did all that is necessary to become CITIZENS.

All the arguments of the Left spits in the face of all these numerous law abiding people who immigrated legally.

Why hasn’t FOX, or any other respected news entity conducted an investigative report focused on these wonderful people who have made a genuine contribution to our society? Huh?

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama didn’t wait for Congress to rewrite the nation’s immigration laws to help millions who are in the United States illegally stay in the country.

He halted deportations of those who came to the United States when they were young, those who care for children and those who haven’t committed crimes. And he’s started allowing some relatives of U.S. service members living in the country illegally to stay as a way to alleviate additional stress on the military and reward veterans.

With a proposed immigration overhaul stalled in Congress, Obama is changing the policy step by step on his own. He’s using executive actions to affect millions of people, part of a pattern he’s embraced on a variety of topics in recent years to bypass Capitol Hill.

“What this administration has undertaken has never happened to this degree,” said Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, a research center.

Obama’s actions spark anger on both sides of the issue. Supporters of an immigration overhaul complain that he hasn’t gone far enough. Opponents of an immigration overhaul say he goes too far.

Supporters have tried to block deportation proceedings at government buildings in a dozen cities, chained themselves to the gates outside the White House, even interrupted a presidential address.

“The president has the legal authority to exercise discretion in immigration enforcement, and to date, that authority has been exercised poorly,” said Pablo Alvarado, the executive director of the National Day Laborer Organizing Network, which is leading the charge against deportations.

Critics have accused Obama of violating the Constitution, prompting a congressional hearing and a lawsuit by immigration agents who accuse the government of preventing them from fulfilling their sworn oath to uphold the law.

“The current administration is picking and choosing which laws to enforce,” said Rep. Robert Goodlatte, a Virginia Republican who’s the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. “The president cannot refuse to enforce a law simply because he dislikes it.”

Obama broke his campaign promise to tackle immigration in his first year in office. Since then, though, he’s consistently urged Congress to rewrite the immigration laws, with no success.

The Democratic-controlled Senate passed the most significant overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws in a generation last year. The Republican-led House of Representatives won’t consider the bill, which provides a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million immigrants who are in the country illegally, until the borders are secure.

While lawmakers argued, the Department of Homeland Security enacted a series of changes using prosecutorial discretion, the wide latitude given to prosecutors in determining whether to pursue apparent violations of the law.

“In the absence of any immigration action from Congress to fix our broken immigration system, what we’ve tried to do is focus our immigration enforcement resources in the right places,” Obama said in 2012.

The president’s opponents and those who want stricter enforcement say the tool was created to review individual cases, not entire categories of people, though it’s been used occasionally for groups, including Cubans and Haitians.

Kevin Johnson, an immigration policy expert who serves as the dean of the University of California, Davis, School of Law, said the president could halt all deportations much the same way a governor could ban executions but that it would be a mistake because angry Republicans would refuse to consider an immigration overhaul.

“Could he put a moratorium on removals? Yes,” Johnson said. “But politically it would be a disaster. It would end the possibilities for comprehensive immigration reform.”

Obama has said repeatedly that he doesn’t believe that he has the authority to stop all deportations.

In late November, a heckler seated behind Obama at an immigration speech in San Francisco argued that the president has the power to stop deportations.

“The easy way out is to try to yell and pretend like I can do something by violating our laws,” Obama responded to him. “And what I’m proposing is the harder path, which is to use our democratic processes to achieve the same goal that you want to achieve – but it won’t be as easy as just shouting. It requires us lobbying and getting it done.”

Krikorian accuses Obama of trying to have it both ways. “He is telling supporters he can’t do it unilaterally, but he’s doing a lot of it unilaterally,” he said.

Obama was initially skeptical of using his executive powers the way his Republican predecessor George W. Bush did.

In his first two years in the White House, when fellow Democrats controlled Capitol Hill, Obama largely worked through the regular legislative process to try to achieve his immigration agenda. But Republicans took control of the House in 2010, making that task more difficult.

The next year, after an intense lobbying effort from advocates, he began to use his own power to move his immigration agenda forward.

“Clearly, the pressure is what drove him to act,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of America’s Voice, a group that seeks a path to citizenship for immigrants who are in the country illegally.

Overall, deportations have increased during the Obama administration to roughly 400,000 people a year, but not in all categories.

In 2011, the administration issued a memo that called for deporting only the most serious criminals, including those who pose threats to national security, have extensive criminal backgrounds and have recently crossed the border.

The next year, after a bill to create a path to citizenship for those who attend college or serve in the military failed, Obama announced that illegal immigrants who were brought to the country as children – so-called Dreamers – would be able to stay and obtain work permits.

Last August, the administration said federal agents shouldn’t deport the parents or guardians of minor children. Three months later, agents were directed to allow the spouses, children and parents of service members, reservists and veterans to stay.

“It’s an effort to shift priorities,” said Marshall Fitz, the director of immigration policy at the left-leaning Center for American Progress. “Doesn’t it make sense to prioritize?”

‘Don’t Cry For Me’. . . Coming soon to a city near you!!

The rest of America will follow Detroit………… Up until the last minute, most will simply stay in denial.

For 15 years, from the mid 1970’s to 1990, I worked in Detroit, Michigan. I watched it descend into the abyss of crime, debauchery, gunplay, drugs, school truancy, car-jacking, gangs and human depravity. I watched entire city blocks burned out. I watched graffiti explode on buildings, cars, trucks, buses and schoolyards. Trash everywhere!

Detroiters walked through it, tossed more into it, and ignored it. Tens of thousands, and then hundreds of thousands today exist on federal welfare, free housing, and food stamps!

With Aid to Dependent Children, minority women birthed eight to 10, and in one case, one woman birthed 24 children as reported by the Detroit Free Press, all on American taxpayer dollars.

A new child meant a new car payment, new TV, and whatever mom wanted. I saw Lyndon Baines Johnson’s ‘Great Society’ flourish in Detroit. If you give money for doing nothing, you will get more hands out taking money for doing nothing.

Mayor Coleman Young, perhaps the most corrupt mayor in America, outside of Richard Daley in Chicago, rode Detroit down to its knees… He set the benchmark for cronyism, incompetence, and arrogance. As a black man, he said, “I am the MFIC.” The “IC” meant “in charge”. You can figure out the rest.

Detroit became a majority black city with 67 percent African-Americans.

As a United Van Lines truck driver for my summer job from teaching math and science, I loaded hundreds of American families into my van for a new life in another city or state.

Detroit plummeted from 1.8 million citizens to 912,000 today. At the same time, legal and illegal immigrants converged on the city for the free government handouts, so much so, that Muslims number over 300,000. Mexicans number 400,000 throughout Michigan, but most work in Detroit. As the whites moved out, the Muslims moved in.

As the crimes became more violent, the whites fled. Finally, unlawful Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace. Detroit suffers so much shoplifting that grocery stores no longer operate in many inner city locations. You could cut the racial tension in the air with a knife! Detroit may be one of our best examples of multiculturalism: pure dislike, and total separation from America.

Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new American Baghdad with hundreds of Islāmic mosques in Michigan, paid for by Saudi Arabian oil money. High school flunk out rates reached 76 percent last June, according to NBC’s Brian Williams. Classrooms resemble more foreign countries than America. English? Few speak it! The city features a 50 percent illiteracy rate and growing.

Unemployment hit 28.9 percent in 2009 as the auto industry vacated the city. In Time Magazine on October 4, 2009, “The Tragedy of Detroit: How a great city fell, and how it can rise again,” I choked on the writer’s description of what happened. “If Detroit had been ravaged by a hurricane, and submerged by a ravenous flood, we’d know a lot more about it,” said Daniel Okrent. “If drought and carelessness had spread brush fires across the city, we’d see it on the evening news every night.” Earthquake, tornadoes, you name it, if natural disaster had devastated the city that was once the living proof of American prosperity, the rest of the country might take notice.

However, Detroit, once our fourth largest city, now 11th and slipping rapidly, has had no such luck. Its disaster has long been a slow unwinding that seemed to remove it from the rest of the country.

Even the death rattle that in the past year emanated from its signature industry brought more attention to the auto executives than to the people of the city, who had for so long been victimized by their dreadful decision making.”

As Coleman Young’s corruption brought the city to its knees, no amount of federal dollars could save the incredible payoffs, kickbacks and illegality permeating his administration. I witnessed the city’s death from the seat of my 18-wheeler tractor trailer because I moved people out of every sector of decaying Detroit.

“By any quantifiable standard, the city is on life support. Detroit’s treasury is $300 million short of the funds needed to provide the barest municipal services,” Okrent said. “The school system, which six years ago was compelled by the teachers’ union to reject a philanthropist’s offer of $200 million to build 15 small, independent charter high schools, is in receivership. The murder rate is soaring, and 7 out of 10 remain unsolved. Three years after Katrina devastated New Orleans, unemployment in that city hit a peak of 11%. In Detroit today, the unemployment rate is 28.9%. That’s worth spelling out: twenty-eight point nine percent.

At the end of Okrent’s report, and he will write a dozen more about Detroit, he said, “That’s because the story of Detroit is not simply one of a great city’s collapse, it’s also about the erosion of the industries that helped build the country we know today. The ultimate fate of Detroit will reveal much about the character of America in the 21st century.

If what was once the most prosperous manufacturing city in the nation has been brought to its knees, what does that say about our recent past? And if it can’t find a way to get up, what does that say about America’s future?”

As you read in my book review of Chris Steiner’s book,”$20 Per Gallon”, the auto industry will not come back. Immigration will keep pouring more and more uneducated third world immigrants from the Middle East into Detroit, thus creating a beachhead for Islamic hegemony in America. If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more homegrown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit. Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs.

You have already seen it in Madrid, Spain, London, England and Paris, France with train bombings, subway bombings and riots. As their numbers grow, so will their power to enact their barbaric Sharia Law that negates republican forms of government, first amendment rights, and subjugates women to the lowest rungs on the human ladder. We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Muslims prefer beheadings of women to scare the hell out of any other members of their sect from straying. Multiculturalism: what a perfect method to kill our language, culture, country and way of life.

I PRAY EVERYONE WHO READS THIS REALIZES THAT IF WE DON’T STAND UP AND SCREAM AT WASHINGTON, AND OUR STATE, CITY AND LOCAL LEADERS, THIS IS WHAT AWAITS THE REST OF AMERICA. IF YOU THINK MEXICANS AND MUSLIMS AND OTHER FOREIGNERS WILL EVENTUALLY FIT RIGHT IN THEN YOU ARE AS BIG A PART OF THE PROBLEM AS THEY ARE.

UNDOCUMENTED DEMOCRAT: Illegal Alien Knocked 93yr. old Woman’s Teeth Out, While Raping Her

On Sunday, police in Omaha arrested Sergio Perez, 19, after he reportedly raped a 93-year-old woman in her home.

The woman was found bloodied, with several serious injuries.

Omaha.com reported:

The woman’s daughter, who also lives in the residence, called 911. Officers said they discovered Perez nude and on top of the woman in a bedroom that had blood on the “walls, floor, ceiling and bed.”

The prosecution said that Perez admitted to police that he beat and raped the victim “because he was angry at women after a night of drinking.”

Perez was found naked and passed out on top of the victim, according to police.

The victim’s cheekbones, nose and several teeth were broken in the ordeal. She remains hospitalized at this time in serious condition.

Perez, who speaks only Spanish, is employed as a roofer.

Perez has been charged with first-degree sexual assault, first-degree assault and burglary. He is currently being held at the Douglas County Correctional Center on an immigration detainer.

The U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” immigration-reform plan, as well as a strikingly similar plan now being backed by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and a bi-partisan House “Gang,” both offer the “roadmap to citizenship” originally conceived and carefully developed by members of the Communist Party USA working within the Democratic Party and the radical left activist network for the purpose of using amnestied illegals to build a “permanent progressive majority.”

That is the inescapable conclusion readers will draw after reading the forthcoming book by acclaimed researcher and blogger Trevor Loudon, titled “The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress.” Although not yet published, Loudon agreed to allow WND readers to preview one chapter, titled “Latino Immigrants: Tools to Ensure a ‘Governing Coalition’ for the Left.”

In the book, Loudon exhaustively documents the Left’s longtime agenda regarding illegal aliens and how its activists have gone about implementing it. He provides irrefutable proof that the entire immigration-reform movement was the brainchild of American communists and that their goal has long been to establish unchallengeable political supremacy.

According to Loudon, the Communist Party USA has influenced U.S. policy toward illegals since at least the 1960s. He traces the history, showing how communists and communist-founded organizations slowly built the movement from the ground up. While other groups certainly joined the effort, the communists were always at the center.

For example, he tells the story of CPUSA member Bert Corona, the “Communist Father of the ‘Immigrants Rights’ movement.” In 1964, Corona, Cesar Chavez and future Democratic Socialists of America member Dolores Huerta forced Congress to end the guest worker “Bracero” program. Later, Corona sought ways to address “problems confronting Mexicans in the United States who had no visas or citizenship documents” – in other words, illegal aliens – including “how to defend persons detained by immigration authorities and how to help immigrants acquire disability and unemployment insurance and welfare.”

Along the way, Corona founded and/or led numerous organizations, such as the Mexican American Political Association, or MAPA, Centro de Action Social Autonoma, or CASA, and La Hermandad Mexicana Nacional (the National Mexican Brotherhood), all influential in the “immigrant rights” movement. The Communist Party still has strong influence in MAPA, which acts as a king-maker for Democratic Party candidates in the Los Angeles area.

Antonio Villaraigosa, former Los Angeles mayor and 2012 chairman of the Democratic National Convention, got his start with CASA. He was also a former member of the Communist Venceremos Brigades and worked with the Brigades in Cuba. As mayor of Los Angeles, he was “the most pro-illegal immigrant mayor the city has ever seen.”

Lorenzo Torrez, a long-time organizer of the Arizona Communist Party, paved the way for Communist-backed Congressmen Ed Pastor and Raul Grijalva to win congressional seats in Arizona. He organized opposition to Southwestern states attempting to prevent illegal immigration and also helped change voting patterns across the entire region.

Loudon’s book identifies many influential communist and socialist politicians holding positions of influence in Congress and state and local governing bodies. For example, Rep. Judy Chu, D.-Calif., writes Loudon, has “a thirty-year history with the now defunct pro-China Communist Workers Party (CWP) and its surviving networks.” Chu is an advocate for “progressive” immigration reform and was a co-sponsor of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez in 2010. In 2012, Chu served as co-chair of President Obama’s reelection campaign.

Today’s Communist Party USA cites the current amnesty effort as its top legislative priority. Its official position is virtually indistinguishable from that of the Democratic Party:

As Congress begins to draft legislation, immigrant rights groups and the labor movement including the AFL-CIO and its constituent organizations, SEIU, Change to Win, and many faith-based groups are mobilizing for comprehensive immigration reform with legalization, a path to citizenship and workers’ rights …

This legislative and political battle is also at the top of the agenda of the Communist Party USA and Young Communist League. Our program includes stopping deportations now as legislation is being adopted, and calling for legalization with a clear and speedy road map to citizenship for all 11 million. Future workers who come should have the same opportunity.

But it was left to Eliseo Medina to let the cat out of the bag. Medina, writes Loudon, “is both the country’s most influential ‘immigration reform’ activist and a Marxist. He is an Honorary Chair of Democratic Socialists of America”:

Medina learned voting strategies from Fred Ross, a Saul Alinsky-trained activist and the brains behind Cesar Chavez. Ross was to eventually have an impact on the national stage. Fred Ross conceived the voter outreach strategy that not only elected Communist Party affiliate Ed Roybal as Los Angeles’ first Latino Council member in 1949, but also laid the groundwork for the Obama campaign’s Latino voter outreach campaign in 2008 …

Medina worked hand in hand with UNITE HERE President John Wilhelm, to change AFL-CIO immigration policy at the 1999 Los Angeles Convention. Then, claiming U.S. immigration policy is “broken and needs to be fixed,” the AFL-CIO on February 16, 2000, called for a new amnesty for millions of undocumented workers and the repeal of the 1986 law that criminalized hiring them …

According to the SEIU website, Medina has played the leading role in uniting Change to Win and AFL-CIO behind the immigration reform movement …

In 2009, Medina said, “We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three? If we have eight million new voters … We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle …”

Republican support

But why would Republicans get behind such a plan? Some astute political observers advise that when politicians appear to be promoting agendas against their own interest, follow the money. As Center for Immigration Studies Executive Director Mark Krikorian put it, “It’s no surprise that the Republicans supporting this thing are the ones with ties to the Chamber of Commerce, not ordinary voters.”

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and others have also stuffed the Senate bill with special perks for their backers – in Graham’s case, a provision granting more visas to workers for South Carolina’s meat industry. Rubio supposedly sought an amendment to assist Florida’s cruise-ship industry although he insists this is untrue.

But even if big business benefits, the cheap labor advantages are only temporary. Once illegal aliens are fully legalized, businesses will be required to provide just as much in pay and benefits as they pay American workers. In the meantime, however, it is widely assumed those workers will take jobs from American citizens, depress wages and increase unemployment. Moreover, in many key swing states, projected amnesties will swamp the rolls of the unemployed (see table).

Proposed Senate legislation delays full citizenship for 13 years, but if a bill passes, follow-on legislation is expected to accelerate that timeframe.

However, it is not even necessary for illegal aliens to achieve citizenship to significantly impact the vote in key districts. As a recent report for Capital Research Center detailed, Democrats are already employing illegals to boost get-out-the-vote efforts among Hispanics and won a major victory in a local Arizona election in 2011. They hope this strategy will win them key swing states, especially Texas, whose electoral votes will, many calculate, provide guaranteed Democratic presidents for the foreseeable future.

House Speaker John Boehner, R.-Ohio, has made much of his intention to ignore the Senate proposal and “do our own bill.” What the House has come up with, however, is considered by most to be “Rubio Lite.”

Boehner has enlisted former Republican VP candidate Ryan to promote the House plan. Ryan and the Republicans are working with some far-left House Democrats, including Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a former member of the Marxist-Leninist Puerto Rican Socialist Party, and Xavier Becerra, both members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and both longtime amnesty activists.

In an interview following Senate passage of the Gang of Eight bill, Fox News’ Sean Hannity pounded Ryan on the issue of border security:

HANNITY: So, my sources have been telling me, Congressman, that you guys are considering a five-year temporary legal status, and then [if] the border security measure is not met in five years, that that would be revoked.

RYAN: That’s right. That’s right.

HANNITY: I don’t believe that would ever happen.

RYAN: Well, look, they can’t get – what a person would want to have, is they would come out of the shadows, they get put on probation, they pay taxes, pay fines, learning English, learning civics. If they break the terms of their probation, they can be deported. And if the border is not secure by that time, if the verification system is not up and running, they can’t get – not only does that status go away, they can’t legal permanent residence …

So, illegal aliens would be granted legal status immediately, but five years down the road, if the fence still isn’t built and e-verify still isn’t being used, then their legal status would be revoked. Given that the Department of Homeland Security is already allegedly ignoring border security –with immigration and customs agents suing their own agency for failing to enforce the law – many voters place little confidence in political promises of future enforcement.

Boehner has announced a closed-door meeting with the entire Republican caucus, scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, to decide the immigration issue, a meeting Politico calls “the most important day for immigration reform.”

Although this meeting was originally requested by Rep. Steve King, R.-Iowa, to air grave concerns shared by many Republicans over this “reform,” it is unclear if this meeting was the House speaker’s answer to King or his own idea. In either case, many fear Boehner will use the meeting as a vehicle to impose the plan as though it were a done deal.

In the meantime, Senate and House opponents have been painstakingly highlighting what they consider to be glaring flaws in these proposals:

Every single border security provision in the Senate bill, including the hire of 20,000 Border Patrol agents, denying amnesty to criminals, building fences and installing surveillance devices, can be waived by the Homeland Security secretary.
Both the House and Senate proposals emphasize the path to citizenship – the centerpiece of communist efforts – while making border security both vague and secondary.
Both bills provide a $5,000 incentive for companies to hire the newly legalized illegal aliens instead of Americans, since the aliens would not be subject to the Obamacare coverage mandate.

Although politicians and the media have settled on the claim that there are 11 million illegal aliens, the actual number may well be closer to 20 million to 30 million. There were 10 million in 1996, a mere 10 years after Reagan’s amnesty, and it is doubtful only one million more have been added in the ensuing 17 years. Since 1990, Border agents have apprehended on average more than 1 million illegal aliens per year, almost all from Mexico.

When the Reagan amnesty became law, the intention was to naturalize only 1.2 million people, but the actual figure turned out to be 2.7 million. Statistics on illegal immigration have longed tended to be underestimated, sometimes vastly so.

Thus, current proposals provide a path to citizenship for as many as 20 to 30 million illegal aliens here now, plus relatives who will be brought in through chain migration and at least 75 percent of those who will come in the future – virtually endless amnesty – while efforts to secure the border are almost certain to be insufficient.

Representatives Steve King, R-Iowa; Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif.; Trey Goudy, R-S.C.; Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.; and others – 70 House members in all – as well as senators Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.; Mike Lee, R-Utah and others have sought to highlight the dangers of this legislation, with Rep. King recently stating:

If the House passed border security and interior security and sent that over to the Senate, Harry Reid is not going to take that up. Chuck Schumer has said that citizenship has to be part of the deal. It’s not going to go to the president’s desk, so why would the House take up anything if there’s no prospect that we’re going to improve the immigration situation, just the prospect that they’re going to jam amnesty on us?

With polls showing more than two-thirds of Americans don’t believe “immigration laws would be enforced in the future if illegal aliens were given amnesty,” it is clear that passage of the current Republican-backed bill may indeed fulfill the agenda of its communist originators – the creation of a permanent Democrat voting majority, guaranteeing permanent control of the United States government by leftist progressives.

Just like they did with Obamacare, some in Congress intend to “Pelosi” the amnesty bill. They’ll pass it in order to find out what’s in it. And just like the unpopular, unaffordable Obamacare disaster, this pandering, rewarding-the-rule-breakers, still-no-border-security, special-interests-ridden, 24-lb disaster of a bill is not supported by informed Americans.

I am an ardent supporter of legal immigration. I’m proud that our country is so desirable that it has been a melting pot making a diverse people united as the most exceptional nation on earth for over two centuries. But I join every American with an ounce of common sense insisting that any discussion about immigration must center on a secure border. The amnesty bill before the Senate is completely toothless on border security.

It’s beyond disingenuous for anyone to claim that a vote for this bill is a vote for security. Look no further than the fact that Senator Rubio and amnesty supporters nixed Senator Thune’s amendment that required the feds to finally build part of a needed security fence before moving forward on the status of illegal immigrants who’ve already broken the law to be here. And if shooting down the border fence wasn’t proof enough, they blew another chance by killing Senator Paul’s “Trust But Verify” amendment which required the completion of a fence in five years and required Congress to vote on whether the border is actually secure before furthering any immigration measures. And then they blew it yet again, nixing Senator Cornyn’s “Results” amendment, which also required border enforcement standards. Now the Senate’s pro-amnesty crowd is offering a fig leaf to security via the Corker-Hoeven Amendment, but this is really nothing more than empty promises. It’s amnesty right now and border security… eh, well, someday.

If this bill was genuinely concerned with border security, it might include practical solutions for those states that live with the problem every single day. Pass-through grants could be given to border states to actually build a fence. The most responsive and responsible level of government is the most local, and since governors accept pass-throughs all the time, this is a workable solution. We could also free up more federal lands along the border to be privatized. The farmers and ranchers would have a clear incentive to keep their private property secure from the flow of illegal immigrants and/or other illegal activities trafficked across the border onto land they’d cultivate. There are plenty of other commonsense solutions, but this bill isn’t about fixing problems; it’s about amnesty at all costs.

When every commonsense, concrete, and verifiable measure to secure the border is stripped away, despite politicians’ promises, what are we supposed to rely on to ensure that our currently unsecured border will be fixed in the future? If D.C. expects us to just sit back and “trust” them despite our permanent political class and Washington bureaucrats proving themselves so very untrustworthy, then I have a bridge to somewhere in Alaska to sell them. Our government is awash in one scandal after another involving blatant lies and violations of our basic liberties, and the leader of the pack ventures out on one road trip after another to avoid accountability.

Just like they did for Obamacare, the permanent political class is sugaring this bill with one goody after another to entice certain senators to vote for it. Look no further than page 983 of the bill, which contains a special visa exemption for foreign seafood workers in the 49th state despite huge unemployment numbers in the American workforce. This is obviously a hidden favor designed to buy the votes of Alaska Senators Murkowski and Begich.

And just like Obamacare, this amnesty bill fails on every level of economic sanity and sane reform. It offers no solutions. It will barely slow the flow of illegal immigration, which means we can expect millions and millions of new illegal aliens in coming years. Sort of what happened when we passed amnesty in 1986 without securing our borders first.

According to the CBO, the bill won’t stop illegal immigration, but it will drive down wages for average hardworking Americans. These would be the same blue-collar working class voters of every ethnicity who chose to sit home in 2012 instead of turning out to vote in the swing states we needed to carry in order to stop Barack Obama’s promised “fundamental transformation” of America. I note this just as a helpful reminder to those who believe the hyperventilated new hype claiming that conservatives need to support this bill in order to win future elections. That’s 100% wrong. The crony capitalists in D.C. and their corporatist friends on Wall Street might think this amnesty boondoggle is a great idea, but the average American worker in our middle class who’ll soon see lower wages is the one left out in the cold, along with those hard working immigrants who followed the rules and are working here legally.

Passing this bill with an unsecured border and within a growing welfare state under Barack Obama is economic insanity. Have people already forgotten that our bankrupt government is running up massive unsustainable deficits every year? We can’t afford to pay the piper now, much less the trillions of dollars more in welfare and entitlements for the millions who are here illegally today that will be granted this bill’s benefits. According to the Heritage Foundation, the bill provides only a temporary delay in granting illegal immigrants eligibility for all U.S. welfare and entitlement programs. We’re looking at an explosion of costs in the very near future. There is no way to pay for the added untold millions of new enrollees in these growing government programs. Pass this, Congress, and Obama will have succeeded in fundamentally transforming America.

Again, I am supportive of legal immigration and am as sympathetic as the next person to the aspirations of people who come here to work hard and live a better life than the poverty and unfree environments they left behind. So many are drawn here because we are an exceptional nation where freedom provides an equal opportunity for everyone to work hard and make something of themselves. But a key part of American exceptionalism is the rule of law. Border security is fundamental to the rule of law, as is incentivizing those who follow the legal path to citizenship instead of punishing them by promoting lawbreakers. This is non-negotiable.

It’s time our lawmakers remember that we are a sovereign nation of laws. This bill ignores that, and ignores the will of the people. The continued porous border goes against what politicians assured us was in this mountain-high bill, and in typical D.C. style it flies in the face of what many politicians campaigned on. I heard their campaign promises. You heard them, too.

It’s time for concerned Americans to flood our legislators’ phone lines with the input they need to hear from We the People. Join the mama grizzlies who are rearing up tirelessly to swat away false claims that amnesty is a good thing. Michelle Malkin rightly said the issue is not secure the border first, it’s “secure the border. Period.” Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter have also offered superb warnings on amnesty’s economic impacts to the middle class.

As the Senate moves to pass amnesty, the only bright spot in this travesty is the rallying revolution we can look forward to. For just as opposition to Obamacare became a rallying cry for the 2010 midterm elections, opposition to this fundamentally transforming amnesty bill will galvanize the grassroots in next year’s elections. And 2014 is just around the corner.

Well, of course the government is spying on Americans! Look at the havoc caused by American citizens engaging in terrorism.There’s “American citizen” David Coleman Headley, who conspired with Pakistani military officers to commit the 2008 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, that left more than 160 people dead.

Headley’s ancestors served under Gen. George Washington — no, I’m sorry, Headley was born “Daood Sayed Gilani” in Washington, D.C., to a Pakistani father. Like your typical American boy, he enjoyed TV’s “Happy Days” and murdering innocent people in terrorist attacks.

There were the 20 “American” men from the Minneapolis area who joined a terrorist group in Somalia in 2008. I knew the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party would cause trouble one of these days!

No, wait — wrong again. We invited these foreign terrorists to immigrate here after the collapse of Somalia’s government in 1991. (And what a great deal for America that was! I’m so glad Obama’s doing it again with Syrian rebels.)

These hardworking Somali immigrants produced — in the words of The New York Times — “the first known American suicide bomber”! Go U.S.A.! Who could have guessed that Shirwa Ahmed would be America’s first suicide bomber? (My money had been on a guy named “Jim Peterson.”)

In addition to the first suicide bomber, the other American citizens who joined the terrorist group included Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax, Abdiweli Yassin Isse and Mahamud Said Omar.

If you can’t trust “American citizen” Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax, what Americans can you trust these days? Or to quote Sen. Bob Casey, the mentally disabled Democratic senator from Pennsylvania: “It’s really disturbing — Americans becoming radicalized.”

Then there were the six “New Jersey men” who plotted a terrorist attack on the Fort Dix military base in 2007. Using rocket-propelled grenade launchers, they estimated they could kill at least 100 soldiers.

Chris Christie, then the U.S. attorney for New Jersey, said surveillance tapes showed the men watching videos of Americans being killed in Afghanistan.“(T)hey watched the blowing off of the arm of a United States Marine and the room burst out into laughter,” Christie said. “These are the types of people we are dealing with.”

The New Jersey men were named Mohamad Shnewer, Serdar Tatar, Agron Abdullahu, Dritan Duka, Eljvir Duka and Shain Duka. Four were from the former Yugoslavia, one was from Turkey and one was from Jordan. All were illegal aliens.

But we needed them! As Marco Rubio’s staff recently told The New Yorker, American workers “can’t cut it.”

If the government can spy on Cherry Hill’s Mohamad Shnewer, how can we draw the line at Fox News’ James Rosen and CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson?

Then there’s “American citizen” Maj. Nidal Hasan, who is still collecting his handsome military salary — up to nearly $300,000 by now — since being accused of a terrorist attack on Fort Hood that left 13 dead and dozens wounded.

And don’t forget “American citizen” Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, accused of conspiring with his brother to bomb the Boston Marathon earlier this year.

My favorite “American citizen” is Najibullah Zazi, arrested in 2009 for plotting to bomb the New York subways. Zazi was born into a tribe in eastern Afghanistan and came to America in his teens. His ticket to entry was his father, whose ticket was, in turn, a brother living in Queens.

(We have no room for Scottish bankers because we have to make room for entire villages of illiterates from Afghanistan, thanks to Teddy Kennedy’s 1965 Immigration Act.)

Zazi’s own step-uncle described him as “a dumb kid, believe me,” according to The New York Times. (Sorry, Scottish bankers — that’s our immigration law!)

He dropped out of high school and had an arranged marriage to his cousin in Pakistan. So Zazi is another big immigrant success story.

Forget the recent Muslim immigration problem. Virtually all enemies to America have been foreigners. The only known Italian traitors in U.S. history were anarchist terrorists Sacco and Vanzetti: immigrants.

Reading the amazing new book, Stalin’s Secret Agents: The Subversion of Roosevelt’s Government by M. Stanton Evans and Herb Romerstein, one can’t help but notice that J. Edgar Hoover’s job would have been a lot easier if our immigration service had been doing its job. A shockingly high percentage of the communist spies were immigrants. This is all the more striking considering that there weren’t that many immigrants getting in at all back then.

Even the commies didn’t want to overthrow the United States as such — only to support Moscow. Otherwise, they’d have just kept voting Democrat and gotten there a little more slowly.

That’s why the National Security Act of 1947, creating the CIA, expressly prohibited the agency from engaging in domestic operations. Now we have to spy on Americans because of all the imported Tsarnaevs and Zazis. We have created two huge problems where none existed before — domestic terrorism and government spying — all to help the Democrats win elections by changing the electorate.

Not only do our post-1965 immigration policies create an unemployment problem, not only have they massively increased the crime rate, but now all Americans are being asked to give up their civil liberties to fulfill Teddy Kennedy’s dream of bringing the entire Third World to live right here in America. (And vote Democrat!)

When we’re referring to “American citizen Anwar al-Awlaki” — provoking Rand Paul to carry on for 13 hours about Obama killing an “American citizen” with a drone — the phrase “American citizen” has lost its essential meaning. We don’t have a drone problem. We don’t have a spying problem. We have an immigration problem.

Supreme Court: Arizona law requiring citizenship proof for voters is illegal

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court ruled Monday that states cannot on their own require would-be voters to prove they are U.S. citizens before using a federal registration system designed to make signing up easier.

The justices voted 7-2 to throw out Arizona’s voter-approved requirement that prospective voters document their U.S. citizenship in order to use a registration form produced under the federal “Motor Voter” voter registration law.

Federal law “precludes Arizona from requiring a federal form applicant to submit information beyond that required by the form itself,” Justice Antonia Scalia wrote for the court’s majority.

The court was considering the legality of Arizona’s requirement that prospective voters document their U.S. citizenship in order to use a registration form produced under the federal “motor voter” registration law. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said that the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, which doesn’t require such documentation, trumps Arizona’s Proposition 200 passed in 2004.

Arizona appealed that decision to the Supreme Court.

“Today’s decision sends a strong message that states cannot block their citizens from registering to vote by superimposing burdensome paperwork requirements on top of federal law,” said Nina Perales, vice president of litigation for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and lead counsel for the voters who challenged Proposition 200.

“The Supreme Court has affirmed that all U.S. citizens have the right to register to vote using the national postcard, regardless of the state in which they live,” she said.

The case focuses on Arizona, which has tangled frequently with the federal government over immigration issues involving the Mexican border. But it has broader implications because four other states — Alabama, Georgia, Kansas and Tennessee — have similar requirements, and 12 other states are contemplating such legislation.

Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented from the court’s ruling.

The Constitution “authorizes states to determine the qualifications of voters in federal elections, which necessarily includes the related power to determine whether those qualifications are satisfied,” Thomas said in his dissent.

Opponents of Arizona’s law see it as an attack on vulnerable voter groups such as minorities, immigrants and the elderly. They say they’ve counted more than 31,000 potentially legal voters in Arizona who easily could have registered before Proposition 200 but were blocked initially by the law in the 20 months after it passed in 2004. They say about 20 percent of those thwarted were Latino.

Barbara Arnwine, president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, called the decision a victory. “The court has reaffirmed the essential American right to register to vote for federal election without the burdens of state voter suppression measures,” she said.

But Arizona officials say they should be able to pass laws to stop illegal immigrants and other noncitizens from getting on their voting rolls. The Arizona voting law was part of a package that also denied some government benefits to illegal immigrants and required Arizonans to show identification before voting.

The federal “motor voter” law, enacted in 1993 to expand voter registration, requires states to offer voter registration when a resident applies for a driver’s license or certain benefits. Another provision of that law — the one at issue before the court — requires states to allow would-be voters to fill out mail-in registration cards and swear they are citizens under penalty of perjury, but it doesn’t require them to show proof. Under Proposition 200, Arizona officials require an Arizona driver’s license issued after 1996, a U.S. birth certificate, a passport or other similar document, or the state will reject the federal registration application form.

While the court was clear in stating that states cannot add additional identification requirements to the federal forms on their own, it was also clear that the same actions can be taken by state governments if they get the approval of the federal government and the federal courts.

Arizona can ask the federal government to include the extra documents as a state-specific requirement, Scalia said, and take any decision made by the government on that request back to court. Other states have already done so, Scalia said.

The Election Assistance Commission “recently approved a state-specific instruction for Louisiana requiring applicants who lack a Louisiana driver’s license, ID card or Social Security number to attach additional documentation to the completed federal form,” Scalia said.

The case is 12-71, Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc.

SB1070 created lots of controversy in Arizona’s effort to fight illegal immigration. We got sued by all the usual suspects, lost in Federal Court, lost in the Ninth Circus and won in the Supreme Court. The most controversial parts of the law included what opponents called “show me your papers” and a requirement that business use eVerify to verify that new employees are eligible to be hired.

Our Governor, Jan Brewer, has gotten plaudits around the country from conservatives for SB1070. Let me be clear about this. Jan Brewer is a political hack, she had nothing to do with writing SB1070, did not support it or comment on it as it made its way through the legislature and nobody knew if she would sign it or veto it after it passed. She waited until the last day to sign, walked out on a stage and at least half the state – the conservative part – was shocked when she signed it.

It was a purely a survival move. She had taken office when Janet Napolitano went to Washington and was in a four way reelection fight, she was running third and falling. Her handlers played the game well. Brewer read her lines very well, even stood up to Obama (although I think that was to sell more books – she’d just self-published an ebook that went through the roof after her airport confrontation with the President) and walked to an easy win in the primary and general election. Again, Jan Brewer is a hack.

With respect to SB1070, I’ve been an opponent of it since day one. I thought it targeted the wrong people, would create unnecessary dust-ups, like the litigation process we were tied up in for years, and would end up being ineffective. I was right.

The point of SB1070 was never to enforce immigration law, it was to create a hostile environment so illegals would get out of Arizona and head for friendlier climes, like California. They are bankrupting our state, California doesn’t seem to mind bankrupting theirs so there was hope SB1070 would give illegals the incentive to leave the state. It did work for a little while, but eventually everything bogged down. It’s expensive to administrate and the Feds didn’t want to take the illegal we were arresting.

First of all, the “show me your papers” part of the law. In the world of stupid, that was king. The State of Arizona has had a law on the books for decades that required every citizen to have a state issued photo ID on their person at all times. It’s a misdemeanor and you are subject to arrest if you don’t have one when asked to identify yourself by a police officer. All this section did, according to dozens of police officers I spoke with, was effectively put a lawyer in car with them every time they asked someone for ID. It added nothing to their ability to do their job, took about zero additional illegals off the street and created a firestorm in the process.

The good part of the law was the eVerify requirement. Businesses hated it and campaigned against it. Even though it made the final cut, the law is toothless and doesn’t provide enough punishment for ignoring it.

eVerify is a great solution. It’s 98% accurate, it’s free assuming you have an internet connection and it takes less than a minute. It’s similar to the requirement for an I9 form that all businesses are required to collect on new hires, but it accesses the Social Security database and verifies that the employee is who he or she says they are.

SB1070 could have worked had the legislature found a spine. The solution is simple and basically ignores the illegals.

First, require eVerify for every employee. SB1070 gave a pass to existing employees and that is an open admission by the business lobby that they’ve got illegals on their payrolls.

Second, extend the eVerify requirement to rental housing. Require that landlords or their agents have an eVerify result on every tenant in a rental property.

Third, make enforcement worthwhile and make compliance a matter of life and death.

The state would audit businesses and rental properties on a routine basis. The business would be required to provide proof that they have eVerify forms for every employee or tenant. If an employee or tenant is found to be an illegal alien, the eVerify form is an affirmative defense.

If they do not have the form it’s an automatic fine of $1,000 per missing form. If the employee or tenant is found to be an illegal, the fine jumps to $20,000 and the business owner/landlord/property manager is charged with a felony. The fine is not dischargeable in bankruptcy and if the business is unable to pay the fine it attaches to the owners. The felony charge is not able to be reduced.

The fines are large enough that the state will aggressively pursue enforcement of the law and it won’t tie up police to enforce it. Accountants will work just fine and they’re cheaper than cops. In addition, the businesses that are most prone to hiring illegals are construction and hospitality. You can’t get a business or liquor license in Arizona with a felony conviction. Now you’ve got incentive for the businesses to follow the law.

Obviously this isn’t going to happen. In the current legislation before the Senate the eVerify system is being scrapped and replaced with an new and undefined system and businesses have 10 years to implement it. Get the idea?

We need to tell Congress that the Gang of Eight is wrong. This current bill is amnesty for millions of lawbreakers, has no enforcement provisions that will be implemented and asks us to trust the same government that’s refused to secure the border for the past twenty years.

Democrat Senator, Chuck Schumer of New York, has over 30 years of sleazy experience in the art of political espionage. Schumer has a well documented history of voting to weaken immigration laws and contributing to the explosion of illegal immigration and drug trafficking crime plaguing America today. Yet once again, he wants Americans, and his naïve Senate colleagues, to take him at his word that this time he is going to get it right and honor his commitments.

Let us take a gander at Senator Schumer’s honorable record on U.S. Immigration and Border enforcement policies and his new “immigrant prevailing wage” agenda.

In 1986, then Congressmen Chuck Schumer, a protégé of liberal Senate lion, Ted Kennedy, voted in support of the Democrat praised Reagan era “Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA)”. The 1986 IRCA made historic changes to existing U.S. immigration law and granted citizenship to an underestimated 3 million illegal aliens. This amnesty, offered as an attempt to curb illegal immigration, allowed illegal aliens living and working in the US to apply for lawful permanent residency if they filed 3 years of back tax returns and paid their back taxes. In turn, our government, Republicans and Democrats, promised to work to secure the U.S. southern border with Mexico, and pursue legal penalties against American businesses who continued to employee undocumented alien workers.

Almost immediately after voting for the IRCA, Schumer went to work betraying his word to his colleagues, and more importantly the American people through his attempts to have the IRCA’s illegal alien tax filing obligations undone in another historic piece of legislation, the “Tax Reform Act of 1986 (TRA)”. Although Schumer was unsuccessful in forcing amendments to the TRA to abate the IRCA’s immigrant tax filing/paying requirements, Schumer eventually voted in support for the passage of the legislation.

Shortly after passage of the TRA, Schumer began pressuring the U.S. Treasury to issue an independent regulation, exempting illegal alien citizen candidates from the tax filing provisions of the IRCA reconfirmed in the 1986 “Tax Reform Act” Schumer supported. In a letter to the Treasury, Schumer argued that Congress “did not intend” to subject amnestied aliens to the tax disclosure and payment requirements he voted for 2 weeks earlier. According to Schumer : “Obviously, we could not have a successful legalization program if by submitting an application an alien became vulnerable to an enforcement action by the IRS.”

The IRS never issued the regulation requested by Schumer, however, in 1988 Congress issued 499 pages of new tax legislation entitled the “Technical and Miscellaneous Revenue Act of 1988“. Buried deep inside this piece of legislation was one sentence absolving illegal aliens of their past tax filing and debt obligations. So much for “shared responsibility.”

Fast forward to 2006, when President Bush signed the token border security law we know as the “Secure Fence Act (SFA),” The SFA’s goal was to secure the U.S. southern border with Mexico to decrease illegal entry, drug trafficking, and security threats, by building 700 miles of fence and authorizing funds for more vehicles barriers, checkpoints, lighting and an increase in the use of advanced technologies like cameras, satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles to reinforce infrastructure at the border. Senator Schumer tried to filibuster the 2006 Secure Fences Act and has also opposed all border security infrastructure spending, choosing instead to support the liberal position that building border fences is not an effective deterrent to illegal border traffic.

Opponents of the SFA claimed border fences have the potential to damage U.S./Mexico relations, disrupt the environment, and inhibit natural animal migration patterns. Further, liberals claim that border fences increased the risk to illegal workers, who used to return home after pursuing seasonal work and fences might force them to bring their families with them and remain permanently in the United States. I’m not making this up.

Chuck Schumer has vigorously opposed every single piece of legislation designed to commit resources to improving US border security and slowing the growth of illegal immigration. During a recent trip to the Arizona/Mexican border, Schumer was heard to express his reservations about the federal government’s ability to secure our southern border given the ineffectiveness of currently available technology. Would this be the very same technology that he has consistently opposed funding for over two decades? Or is this the technology he lavishly praises for improving border security under the stewardship of the Obama Administration? That is, before he actually visited the border, and then recently condemned it? Oh brother.

Now we hear that Senator Schumer has brokered a backroom deal between Richard Trumpka’s AFL-CIO and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, to establish as part of proposed Immigration Reform legislation, an immigrant “prevailing wage” plan. I won’t bore you with the details, since the specifics of this new Democrat idea—much like the details of bio-metric worker I.D. cards—have yet to be made public. However, it is in your best interest to read up on this garbage, because you’ll be paying for it.

Funny, I don’t remember electing Richard Trumpka or the US Chamber of Commerce to anything, so why are they involved in government efforts to curb illegal immigration, reduce immigrant entitlement dependency, and control the growth of Mexican gang violence and drug trafficking in America? More importantly what does an “immigrant prevailing wage” have to do with border security and decreasing illegal immigration? I guess it must be that old campaign contribution thing popping up AGAIN. Either way, there goes all that cheap illegal immigrant labor right into the ranks of the Obama loyal SEIU.

Chuck Schumer wants nothing more than to increase the size of his loyal Democrat voting entitlement dependent constituency. The only thing you can trust about Senator Schumer, is his history of going back on his word, and his use of political sleight of hand and outright criminal deception to get what he wants. If Mr. Schumer, and his gang bangers of 8, are working on legitimate and trustworthy immigration reform efforts, why is it that everything must be done in secret, behind politically expedient closed doors?

Some wonder;

How long the facilities will be used to house the UACs. So far, the Obama administration and the Department of Homeland Security have not put a timeline on it.

Others have worried that the children themselves may be in danger of falling into the hands of traffickers and criminals.

And still others worry about the quality of the conditions at the temporary facilities.
