Alexander Soros, son of George Soros and chairman of the Open Society Foundations, is engaged to veteran Democratic operative Huma Abedin, according to his Instagram account.

“This happened … we couldn’t be happier, more grateful, or more in love,” Soros wrote on social media on Tuesday alongside a picture of him proposing to Abedin. Soros proposed to Abedin in New York City in late May, with the couple later absconding to Italy to celebrate and only making their engagement public more than a month later, Vogue reported.

George Soros handed over control of his $25 billion philanthropic empire to Alex in June 2023, with the younger Soros subsequently describing himself as “more political” than his father in an interview with The Wall Street Journal. Abedin, meanwhile, is a close ally of Hillary Clinton, having served as Clinton’s deputy chief of staff during her time as secretary of state and working as the vice chair of the former first lady’s 2016 presidential campaign.

“The House of Soros is passing on the title to the firstborn son. And now, that son is marrying a powerful duchess to shore up the family empire,” America 2100, a think tank run by a former chief of staff to Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote on X. “Every society has a ruling class.”

Soros and Abedin first met at a mutual friend’s birthday party last fall and bonded over their mutual interest in politics, according to Vogue. Since then, the two have made a number of public appearances together, including at a White House state dinner and at the 2024 Met Gala.

Now that he has control of the charitable network built by his father, the younger Soros plans to levy its resources to boost Democratic politicians and to expand access to abortion, he told The Wall Street Journal.

One former Clinton aide told the New York Post that Soros and Abedin are a “classic Clinton World couple.”

The marriage will be Soros’ first and Abedin’s second as the high-profile Democratic staffer was married to former Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y. Abedin and Weiner divorced after he was caught sexting with an underage girl, according to CBS News.

Limbaugh: Abedin’s response to Weiner’s laptop ‘all we need to know that it’s serious’

Radio host Rush Limbaugh told listeners on Monday that FBI agents will find “something serious” on Anthony Weiner’s laptop based solely on Huma Abedin’s reaction to last week’s political bombshell.

FBI Director James B. Comey informed lawmakers last Friday that agents investigating Mr. Weiner’s text messages with a 15-year-old girl found possibly “pertinent” information relating to the secret email server Hillary Clinton used as secretary of state. Sources close to Mrs. AbedinMrs. Clinton’s top aide — told Politico and The Washington Post that she claimed ignorance as to how the emails arrived on the device.

Mr. Limbaugh told listeners he would “read between the lines” regarding Mrs. Abedin’s reaction.

“This is The Washington Post headline, and it’s from two days ago: ‘Clinton Aide Huma Abedin Has Told People She Doesn’t Know How Her Emails Wound up on Her Husband’s Computer.’ Folks, that’s all we need to know that it’s serious,” the host said. “If there was nothing on her husband’s computer — if these 650,000 emails, whatever number of emails, if there’s nothing to see there — Huma Abedin would be telling people, ‘There’s nothing there. They can look all they want.’ “

“‘There’s nothing on there! I told the truth; I got rid of everything of mine. If this is my husband’s, I haven’t the slightest idea what’s on there, but I’m not worried,’ ” Mr. Limbaugh said Mrs. Abedin would respond if she had nothing to hide.

“She didn’t say any of that,” he continued. “She’s out there telling people she doesn’t know how her emails wound up on her husband’s computer. Now, what they’re trying to do with this — this is the dead giveaway. That Washington Post headline tells me that the Democrats, the Hillary campaign is trying to use Huma’s alleged cluelessness as a decoy.”or a liar

The conservative host said the Clinton campaign’s strategy as the FBI investigates thousands of emails is twofold: They allegedly want to frame Mrs. Abedin as a victim of her estranged husband while showing that she had no intent to commit crimes.

The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that agents may need to sift through as many as 650,000 emails found on Mr. Weiner’s laptop, a seemingly impossible feat to accomplish before the Nov. 8 presidential election.

Mrs. Clinton’s top advisers and allies have decried Mr. Comey’s decision to go public with the agency’s investigation, with Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada saying the director may have broken the law.

“To throw this in the middle of a campaign 11 days out just seems to break with precedent and be inappropriate at this stage,” Clinton campaign manager John Podesta said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” The Washington Times reported.klinton-kane-korruption-clinton-book-corrupt-together-427x600-copy

Disgrace: Clearly the FBI Intended to Let Hillary Get Away With Breaking National Security Laws

waving flagBy Warner Todd Huston September 9, 2016

Disgracing himself at the end of a long career of public service, it now seems fairly evident that F.B.I. Director James Comey had a political agenda, not one of serving justice, with his investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal use of a private email server. It is nearly impossible not to conclude that from the beginning Comey fully intending to let Hillary off the hook for what would be considered crimes if committed by someone — anyone — else.

Even the chain of events seems to show Comey had no intention of recommending Hillary be prosecuted. Take the timing of her F.B.I. interview, for instance.

  • Clinton was finally interviewed at the very end of the investigation, instead of the beginning like the F.B.I. does in literally every other case. This timing means that Hillary’s words were never in a position to be used against her. This is a complete breach of procedure as the agency normally tries to get a suspect on record early so they can use that testimony against them at a later date, not to mention to use it to try and wring out any details that may lead agents to more evidence.
  • Next, the interview came a scant 72 hours before the final report was delivered to the Obama administration which pretty much proves that Comey’s conclusions were already set in stone before Hillary said a single word to them. In other words, her appearance was a sham interview that never had any bearing on the case.
  • Then, to top it all off, Comey had his tarnished agency release the transcripts of the interview late on a Friday night before a long, three-day holiday weekend in hopes that it would all be forgotten by the time the media returned to its job of reporting the news the following Tuesday.
  • hillary-and-fbi-comeyWorse, in his announcement of why he wasn’t going to recommend that Hillary be prosecuted, Comey rambled on and on about how he determined that Clinton had no “intent” to break the nation’s secrecy laws by setting up her own, unsecure email server hidden in her own New York home when she was Obama’s Secretary of State. Yet, the released transcript shows that agents never once asked her about her “intent.”
  • Then the F.B.I.’s top man admitted that even though he judged Clinton on this mythic “intent” criteria, he would never let anyone else get away with such a defense insisting he would prosecute everyone else in any similar situation to the fullest extent of the law.

Hillary was even called on her get-out-of-jail-free fortune. At this week’s “Commander-In-Chief Forum” broadcast on MSNBC on September 7. During the forum a Navy Vet said, “Had I communicated this information not following prescribed protocols, I would have been prosecuted and imprisoned. Secretary Clinton, how can you expect those such as myself who were and are trusted with America’s most sensitive information to have any confidence in your leadership as president when you clearly corrupted our national security?”

That is quite an indictment. And in fact, since Hillary was let off Scot free by the F.B.I. a member of the military was convicted of breaching America’s national security laws despite trying to proffer a “Hillary defense” to stave off a prison sentence.

At the beginning of September a Navy Petty Officer was convicted of taking cell phone photos of the classified interior of a U.S. submarine despite that he only intended to keep the photos as a memento of his service. The sailor did break the laws, granted, but he had no “intention” of selling the photos to our enemy, so he and his lawyers wondered why he should be prosecuted when Hillary was let off the hook for her lack of “intention” to put the nation at risk.

Then there are the charges of obstruction of justice. The F.B.I. clearly found evidence that Hillary and her tech team raced to destroy evidence even after having the records subpoenaed.or a liar

Fox News’ Catherine Herridge reported this week that after Congress issued a subpoena and a preservation of evidence order that reach her folks on March 9, Hillary ordered her tech team to continue destroying emails.picture1

“By the 25th of that month, there was a conference call with Clinton’s lawyers and then shortly after that, the records were deleted by Platte River Networks using that Bleach Bit technology,“ Herridge said referring to a computer program that irretrievably destroys computer data. “So what you can see here, at least is lining up with the timeline to suggest that there was a deliberate deletion of records when there was an order to preserve.”

Further, even a casual reading of Hillary’s released testimony shows repeated lies and prevarications. Not only that, but some of her staffers also lied to the G-Men. In any normal F.B.I. investigation, lying to the agency is often all one needs to be slammed with the iron boot heel of the federal government. One doesn’t have to directly break a law to be destroyed by the F.B.I. All one really need do is lie to them during the investigation.

You might remember Vice President Dick Cheney’s former chief of staff, Lewis “Scooter” Libby, was convicted back in 2007 not so much for leaking the names of any C.I.A. operatives but for lying to the F.B.I. and a grand jury over the whole thing. By most accounts, Libby was innocent of the substance of the charges against him, but he did lie to investigators, apparently. Lying is what Libby was nailed for, but in Hillary’s case… crickets.

So, what were some of those Clinton lies?

Huma Abedin Hillary ClintonLet’s start with her staff;

  • Clinton’s aides told the F.B.I. that they didn’t know anything about the personal email server hidden away from America’s prying eyes in Secretary Clinton’s home in Chappaqua. Yet some of the emails already released reveals staffers actually asking Clinton if the email server is “okay.”
  • In another email a staffer is seen informing Clinton that their secret server had been hacked and need to be temporarily shut down. And in yet another case, even as Hillary’s top aide Huma Abedin claimed she knew nothing about the details of the server, the F.B.I.’s own report states that Abedin was the catalyst for the creation of the secret email system in the first place.

hillary-liar-633x450But in the lying department, her staff are pikers compared to Hillary herself. The released testimony shows so many lies, misdirections, and general obtuseness that it would have sent agents joyfully scurrying for an indictment were it anyone else.

Take her claims about what the “(C)” meant on her emails, for instance.

That marking means “classified,” as anyone with any sort of security clearance knows. But Hillary baldly claimed that she thought the classified marking meant “the alphabet.” She seriously tried to get agents to believe she thought the “c” meant that it was “clause c” or some such foolishness. And that is quite despite the fact that there was never included in any of the emails she sent or received a “clause a” or a “clause b” preceding that “c.”

Hillary’s guffaw-inducing claim is also easily debunked by looking at some of the emails released by Wikileaks.

In another case she told the F.B.I. she should be excused for emailing about classified drone information because in her opinion the info shouldn’t have been classified, anyway. So, her feelings about what is or isn’t classified — not the actual fact of what is classified — should be held up as an excuse for her actions. And apparently the agency bought this garbage.

Clinton also lied when she insisted that no one ever warned her that she was putting the nation at risk by using a private, unsecure email server that was not administered by the federal government. At least one news source has reported that a member of the State Department insisted they warned Hillary that her private email server was “not a good idea.” And that is only in addition to Hillary’s own admission that former Secretary of State Colin Powell also warned her against the email server. She went ahead and did it anyway.

Finally, we also discovered a very disconcerting thing buried in the F.B.I.’s document. Hillary said she couldn’t recall any thing she did as Obama’s Secretary of State because she was operating with a concussion. Seriously. A concussion!

That’s right, folks. Hillary admits that she had a head injury that not only kept her limited to a few hours of work a day, but one that damaged her ability to remember important briefings and the complicated information needed to be the nation’s main diplomatic representative.or a liar

In any case, it is clear that Hillary Clinton gave the F.B.I. ample reason to recommend she be indicted for her crimes. But the fact is, Comey had a political end in mind for his investigation. As far as Comey was concerned, Hillary’s criminal behavior was going to be papered over from the start.

Emails: Huma Abedin Intervened To Help Clinton Foundation Donor With Dispute Over Multimillionaire’s Will

waving flagAuthored by Chuck Ross, Reporter,  09/01/2016

Newly released emails show that a Clinton Foundation adviser asked one of Hillary Clinton’s top State Department aides to provide “‘air’ support” for a Clinton Foundation donor who sought to set up a meeting with the U.S. ambassador to Panama to help with a legal dispute.

Emails released on Thursday by Judicial Watch show that Clinton Foundation adviser Doug Band forwarded an email to Hillary Clinton deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin from Christopher Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax, a conservative online publication.

Despite his ideological bent, Ruddy has been a supporter of the Clintons. Through Newsmax, he has donated between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation, the organization’s website shows.

In the Aug. 17, 2009 email, Ruddy asked Band to put Otto Reich, a former Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administration official, in touch with Barbara Stephenson, who then served as U.S. ambassador to Panama.

Ruddy appears to have wanted Reich to get in touch with Stephenson to discuss a legal battle brewing in Panama over the estate of Wilson Lucom, a multimillionaire who had died in 2006.

Lucom was the founder of the conservative watchdog group, Accuracy in Media, and a friend of Ruddy’s. Ruddy was a co-executor of Lucom’s estate before being replaced by Lucom’s attorney after his death.

To help settle the affair, Ruddy leaned on his Clinton Foundation connections to ask the State Department to intervene.

“Otto Reich is arriving in Panama tonight on the matter I discussed,” Ruddy wrote to Band.

He said that Reich had reached out to Stephenson earlier that week but had not heard back from her.

“Any ‘air’ support you can give for this meeting would be helpful,” Ruddy wrote.

Abedin moved to help Band fulfill Ruddy’s request, noting that the staffers who would normally handle such matters were out on vacation but that she would have a “junior”-level official help out.

“I can ask someone junior to deal with this?” she asked in the email, which was sent from her personal account.

“Sure,” replied Band, who has worked for the Clintons in multiple overlapping roles. He once worked as Bill Clinton’s “body man.” He now runs Teneo Strategies, a consulting firm which has paid Clinton millions as an honorary chairman.

It is unclear why Reich was involved in the matter. But he does have experience in Central American affairs. He served as ambassador to Venezuela in the first Bush’s administration and operates a firm called Otto Reich & Associates, an international lobbying and consultancy firm.

Reich was recently listed as an adviser to The Langley Intelligence Group Network (LIGNET), a Washington, D.C.-based intelligence and forecasting service operated by Ruddy.

One document from 2014 lists Reich as a member of LIGNET’s advisory board. Reich appears to have started commenting for interviews conducted through LIGNET in 2011. Ruddy’s and Reich’s relationship prior to that is unclear.

Band followed up on his request to Abedin in a Sept. 3 email.

“Need to follow up on that chris ruddy panama request and just have him connect with someone,” he wrote.

“Let me check in,” Abedin replied.

The next day, Roberta Jacobson, the deputy assistant secretary for the bureau of western hemisphere affairs, responded to Ruddy.

“Your inquiry about the Lucom case has been passed to the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs here at State. I apologize for not getting you a response on our position last evening, but we will get back to you as soon as possible today,” wrote Jacobson.

Ruddy forwarded that response to Band who in turn sent it to Abedin.

The new Judicial Watch release comes on the heels of a string of explosive emails that the watchdog group released last month showing possible pay-to-play involving Abedin and Band.

One email shows Band asking Abedin to help him put Nigerian-Lebanese billionaire Gilbert Chagoury in touch with someone working on Lebanese issues at the State Department. Chagoury has donated between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation. He also partnered with the Clinton Global Initiative on a $1 billion project in 2009. (RELATED: Clinton Foundation Official Asked Huma Abedin For Favors For Donors, Associates)

Chagoury is a controversial figure. His business success is in large part due to his relationship in the mid-1990s with Nigerian dictator Sani Abacha. Chagoury attended a White House holiday party in December 1996 after he donated $460,000 to a liberal voter registration group.

He was convicted by a Swiss court in 2000 for laundering money on behalf of Abacha.

He was also denied a visa to visit the U.S. last year because he has helped finance a Lebanese organization allied with Hezbollah, the terrorist group.

Other emails released last month show that Band asked Abedin in a June 23, 2009 email to help set up a meeting for Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the crown prince of Bahrain. (RELATED: Bahrain’s Prince Got Audience With Clinton After Donating $32 Million To Her Foundation)

The meeting eventually took place.

More bombshells are likely to surface in Abedin’s emails. The State Department has only started releasing the emails she sent from her personal email accounts. Abedin worked for Clinton at State from Jan. 2009 through Feb. 2013, when Clinton stepped down. (RELATED: Many More Huma Abedin Email Bombshells Likely To Come)

New Emails Show Clinton Foundation Donors Lobbied Huma For Diplomatic Passports

waving flagAuthored by Kevin Daley, Legal Affairs Reporter,  09/01/2016

New emails released by Judicial Watch in connection with its probe of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation indicate Clinton Foundation donors lobbied senior Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin for diplomatic passports.

Abedin responded positively to the donor inquiries, according to the email.

The donors in question include Doug Band and Justin Cooper. The email indicates that Band reached out to Abedin in 2009, when she served as deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Department of State, and asked for her help in obtaining diplomatic passports for him, Cooper, and a third individual identified only by their initials.

“We had them years ago but they lapsed and we didn’t bother getting them,” Band wrote.

“Ok will figure it out,” Abedin replied.

Band was an aide to former President Bill Clinton before founding Teneo Holdings, a global advisory firm with extensive ties to the Clinton orbit.

Former President Clinton was both a client of the firm and a paid consultant. Abedin served simultaneously at posts in the State Department and Teneo. Cooper was also an aide to former President Clinton. (RELATED: Exclusive: State Department Won’t Release Clinton Foundation Emails For 27 Months)

Band previously lobbied Department of State officials on behalf of Gilbert Chagoury, another Clinton Foundation donor who was eventually denied entry to the U.S. due to possible connections to Hamas, the Palestinian terror group.

Diplomatic passports are a prized asset, as significant benefits accrue to their holders. They are almost exclusively issued to government employees representing the United States in an official capacity. The Department of State requires applicants to present their official orders when procuring such documents.

Individuals with diplomatic passports enjoy easy passage at international borders, access to special lines at airports, no tax liability on certain sources of income, and relaxed visa restrictions.

The Clinton campaign has not yet responded to inquiries.

Clinton Foundation Official Requests State Lunch Invitation, Special Seating for Foundation Allies, Emails Show

A series of newly released State Department emails obtained by ABC News offers fresh insight on direct contact between the Clinton Foundation and Hillary Clinton‘s inner circle while she was Secretary of State.

The emails -– released as part of a public records lawsuit by conservative group Citizens United and shared exclusively with ABC — reveal what the group claims is new evidence Foundation allies received special treatment. [Read the emails here.]

WHAT TO KNOW

In one December 2010 email chain with Clinton’s closest aide Huma Abedin, then-top Clinton Foundation official Doug Band offers names for a State Department lunch with Chinese President Hu Jintao scheduled for January 2011.On the list were three executives from organizations that have donated millions to the Clinton Foundation: Bob McCann, the then-president of wealth management at UBS; Dr. Judith Rodin, the president of the Rockefeller Foundation; and Hikmet Ersek, the CEO of Western Union.

According to the Foundation website, the UBS Wealth Management USA has contributed between $500,001 and $1 million to the Foundation; the Rockefeller Foundation has given between $10 million and $25 million, while Western Union and its foundation has contributed between $1 million and $5 million.

Nearly two weeks later, Band followed up on email, specifically requesting Rodin be seated at Vice President Joe Biden’s table. “I’ll ask,” Abedin replied.

In a separate exchange, Abedin forwarded to Band — outside the State Department — an attachment entitled “Updated China RSVP Guest List 1-5-11.” The attachment was not included in the documents received by ABC, but suggests sharing of information ahead of a state visit by President Hu Jintao in late January 2011.

Band declined comment to ABC News. Clinton Foundation spokesman Craig Minassian said the emails “aren’t related to the Clinton Foundation’s work improving lives around the world.”

A representative for McCann told ABC News he did not attend the lunch, while a representative for Ersek said he doesn’t have a “record” of the event. Rodin’s office did not immediately return a request for comment. The State Department said it could not provide a list of attendees.

In addition to State Department functions, Band also corresponded with Abedin about personal requests of some Clinton Foundation supporters.

In January 2011, Band at the Foundation forwarded an email to Abedin on behalf of Gerardo Werthein, a South American businessman who has donated more than $1 million to the Foundation, according to its website.

Calling Werthein a “great friend” and “big supporter,” Band asked Abedin to deliver a message to the U.S. ambassador to Malta on behalf of Werthein. The ambassador was scheduled to meet with the Admor, a religious leader in Malta and associate of Werthein.

Abedin passed on Band’s message to another State Department official asking for delivery to the ambassador’s assistant, writing, “Just want to pass along for info. No need for action.”

A June 2009 email from Band passed on thanks from a Tim Collins to Abedin for bringing him to “some event.” Abedin says, “We invited him into speech in Cairo.” ABC News could not confirm the identity of the Collins who attended the speech. The Clinton Foundation website lists a Timothy Collins, founder of the investment firm Ripplewood Advisors, as a major donor.

“After more than two years of Freedom of Information Act requests and lengthy litigation, the truth is finally coming out,” said David Bossie, president of Citizens United, in a statement. “Hillary Clinton’s senior staff at the State Department routinely worked with the Clinton Foundation to reward big donors with special access and favors for four years.”

The State Department and Clinton campaign both told ABC News that Foundation donors held no special influence or received favors.

When asked about the apparent involvement of a top Clinton Foundation official in requesting invitations for guests for State Department functions, spokeswoman Elizabeth Trudeau told ABC News: “The State Department does not believe it is inappropriate for the administration to consider individuals suggested by outside organizations when deciding who to invite to an official function.”

Clinton campaign spokesman Josh Schwerin said the emails released are a political attack on the Clintons.

“Citizens United is a right-wing group that’s been attacking the Clintons since the 1990s and, once again, is trying to make something out of nothing,” Schwerin told ABC News.

Emails Show Big-Time Clinton Donor Directly Asked To Be Placed On State Dept. Arms Control Panel

waving flagWritten by Chuck Ross, Reporter, 06/27/2016

A wealthy donor to Hillary Clinton’s campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation directly asked Clinton’s State Department staff to be considered for an appointment to a board overseeing arms control issues within the agency, newly released emails show.

“If there is any way I can be a part of the list of the final 25 I would be grateful. Please let me know if there is anything you need me to do,” reads a Sept. 11, 2009 email from the donor, Rajiv Fernando, to Clinton’s deputy chief of staff Huma Abedin.

Fernando, who has donated between $1 million and $5 million to the Clinton Foundation and tens of thousands to Clinton’s various campaigns, was eventually appointed to the International Security Advisory Board (ISAB) in 2011. The board provides independent advice to the State Department regarding arms control and international security.

Fernando’s lack of experience in those fields has raised questions about whether Clinton made the appointment in order to reward a high-dollar donor. The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee has been dogged by accusations that she has used her positions of power to reward political donors and corporate benefactors.

Fernando’s exchange with Abedin is part of a batch of emails that Citizens United obtained through a lawsuit against the State Department. McClatchy Newspapers first reported on the emails between Fernando and Abedin, who now serves as vice chair of Clinton’s campaign.

Fernando’s tenure on the ISAB came to a swift end after he attended a July 2011 meeting. ABC News began inquiring about an appointment given to a big-time Democratic donor who had no experience in international security issues. Fernando tendered his resignation, claiming that he had to devote time to business in Europe.

In his September 2009 email with Abedin, Fernando relayed details of a conversation he had with Ellen Tauscher, a former congresswoman who then served undersecretary of state for Arms Control and International Security Affairs.

Tauscher said that 25 people were being considered for open spots on the ISAB, whose members included former lawmakers, generals and defense experts.

“They will have their list and Hillary will have hers and at the end of the day as long as they don’t have opposition to any of Hillary’s people, they should get in,” Fernando wrote.

Fernando also sought to assure Abedin that he would be a valuable asset to Clinton.

“I know I will be able to hold my own and be valued contributor to this board,” he wrote. “I promise I will make the Secretary look good.”Partyof Deceit Spin and Lies

He also acknowledged his lack of experience in the field of international security and nonproliferation. But he said that he was studying under two professors to get up to speed on the topics.

“Everybody on that board is a top level defense expert, yet, I feel like I can add a lot to the group,” he wrote Abedin, who now serves as vice chair of Clinton’s campaign. “I have two professors from Northwestern and one from University of Chicago who are international security experts and are getting me up to speed on the academics behind the field.”2.0

Fernando’s appointment to the board was met with skepticism throughout the State Department. And at least one member of Clinton’s inner circle — her communications strategist, Philippe Reines — mocked the choice.

In one 2012 email to Abedin and Clinton’s chief of staff Cheryl Mills, Reines wrote that Fernando should “have landed a spot on the President’s Physical Fitness Council” rather than the ISAB.

Other emails obtained by Citizens United earlier this month show that State Department staffers questioned Fernando’s experience for the position. Nevertheless, his application for a “Top Secret” security clearance was fast-tracked so that he could attend a July 2011 board meeting.

Clinton Staffer Turns On Hillary… Reveals STUNNING Email Error That Could Totally Sink Her

waving flagBy: John Falkenberg on June 25, 2016

UnderWater-600-LIThe Clinton campaign has now admitted that the former secretary of state did not turn over to the State Department quite all of her work-related emails.

While that may not serve as a surprise, one email in particular was particularly interesting — an email to her aide Huma Abedin, which the Daily Caller calls “cryptic.”

Her campaign spokesman, Brian Fallon, told Associated Press that “Secretary Clinton had some emails with Huma that Huma did not have, and Huma had some emails with Secretary Clinton that Secretary Clinton did not have.” In one of these emails, Abedin asked Clinton if she wanted to move to a state.gov email account, and while she’s open to it, she’s concerned about leaks.

“I don’t want any risk of the personal being accessible,” Clinton wrote in a now widely reported email.lying so long

That November, 2010, email was used in the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General’s condemnation of the former secretary’s security and record-keeping practices. Although it is possible that Clinton failed to turn over the email by accident, it is unlikely. And it’s not the only one.

“There are instances, and they’re identified in the OIG report, where people are aware of emails that involved her that she did not turn over,” said a State Department official.

You don’t say.

State Department spokesman John Kirby said: “While this exchange was not part of the approximately 55,000 pages provided to the State Department by former Secretary Clinton, the exchange was included within the set of documents Ms. Abedin provided the department in response to our March 2015 request.”

But given that Clinton was legally obligated to turn over copies of all work-related email to the State Department upon her departure, why has it taken so long for this information to come forth?

The FBI is Closing in on Hillary Clinton as News Breaks that Her Server “Put Lives at Risk”!

waving flagBy / 2 February 2016

Over the last few days the Clinton email scandal has grown uglier and more dangerous, not just for the Obama administration, but for the United States as well. Last week, we learned that Clinton had left deeply secret information unprotected, perhaps even endangering the lives of American operatives. Now, we’ve discovered that at least 22 of Clinton’s emails were so secret that the State Department still can’t release them (even the redacted versions are still too classified for general consumption)! However, the scandal may soon be spreading even further as the latest revelations implicate Secretary of State John Kerry in similar lawlessness and prove that President Obama has been lying to us for years!

That’s interesting because the latest data dump proves that the President and Secretary Clinton had emailed each other on at least 18 separate occasions. The White House does not deny that the correspondence took place, but they are also arguing that Obama had no idea that the server being used was of private origin (despite the obviously non-governmental email address). The White House is also implying (though not guaranteeing) that these 18 instances are the only times that the two had any email contact. “Of the 55,000 pages of traffic that was handed over by former Secretary Clinton to us for us to go through for release through FOIA, we have found these 18, and I do not expect that there will be more,” State Department spokesman John Kirby said late last week.REALLY

ObamaLiar2At the same time that we were learning that the President may have lied about when he learned that Clinton had been using a private server, we were also made aware of the latest blow to Hillary Clinton’s credibility. While the Clinton campaign still claims (contrary to the copious evidence that continues to build) that she never sent or received any classified material on her private server, the State Department now says that at least 22 emails from that server CANNOT be released to the public. Why? Because these 22 emails “contained highly classified information” that even when redacted were too sensitive to reveal to the world.

Mr. McCullough wrote that “several dozen emails” contained classified information, including some now determined to contain information at the “top secret/S.A.P.” level. That designation refers to “special access programs,” which are among the government’s most closely guarded secrets.lying so long

The Clinton campaign (and the State Department) argue that these emails did not contain classified “markings” when they travelled across the Clinton servers, but as MANY experts have already argued, the markings make NO DIFFERENCE.

However, it’s isn’t just Clinton and Obama who have been revealed as untrustworthy in the latest round of email disclosures. John Kerry has also been unmasked as a fellow lawbreaker.REALLY

Emails released by the State Department on Friday show that in 2011, then-Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry sent then-Sec. of State Hillary Clinton an email from his iPad that has been deemed to contain information classified as “Secret.”

You can see the email exchange here thanks to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that is revealing the criminal activities of our political leaders. According to the latest count from those keeping tabs, thus far 1583 of the emails that traversed the unsecure Clinton email server were classified in some measure, including the 22 that the State Department revealed on Friday to be of the highest level (“Top Secret”) of classification. That’s a lot of classified information.

As if all of these latest revelations were not damning enough, on Monday Fox News began reporting that sources within the intelligence community were also confirming that Clinton’s illegal server had “put lives at risk.”

From Jeff Dunetz at Lidblog:

Fox News’ Catherine Herridge who has been at the forefront of exposing the severity of the security risks from Hillary Clinton’s use of a private non-secure server while secretary of state, has done it again.

Herridge is now reporting that those emails deemed too damaging to release even on a redacted basis, which she revealed on Friday, “contain ‘operational intelligence’ – and their presence on the unsecure, personal email system jeopardized “sources, methods and lives,” a U.S. government official who has reviewed the documents told Fox News.” The official could not discuss the specific contents of the emails but confirmed the description given to Herridge referred to the 22 top secret emails that the State Department announced Friday could not be released in any form, even with entire sections cut out.

The U.S. government official’s description provides confirmation that the emails contained closely held government secrets. “Operational intelligence” can be real-time information about intelligence collection, sources and the movement of assets.

The official emphasized that the “TOP SECRET” documents were sent over an extended period of time — from shortly after the server’s 2009 installation until early 2013 when Clinton stepped down as secretary of state.

Other news outlets have now confirmed Fox News’ reporting but they’ve also added their own devastating twists to the findings. As John Schindler at the Observer writes (emphasis mine):

I can confirm that the FoxNews report, which lacks any specifics about exactly what was compromised, is accurate. And what was actually in those Top Secret emails found on Hillary’s “unclassified” personal bathroom server was colossally damaging to our national security and has put lives at risk.

Discussions with Intelligence Community officials have revealed that Ms. Clinton’s “unclassified” emails included Holy Grail items of American espionage such as the true names of Central Intelligence Agency intelligence officers serving overseas under cover. Worse, some of those exposed are serving under non-official cover. NOCs (see this for an explanation of their important role in espionage) are the pointy end of the CIA spear and they are always at risk of exposure – which is what Ms. Clinton’s emails have done.

Not only have these spies had their lives put in serious risk by this, it’s a clear violation of Federal law.

This is HUGE. The entire scandal has been a monstrous example of the disgusting corruption within the Obama administration, but this latest story is the most disturbing revelation yet. People have gone to prison for FAR LESS, and it’s time that Hillary Clinton and her aides joined them there.

The rumors are that the FBI desperately wants to prosecute Hillary Clinton and her closest aide, Huma Abedin. The question is, will it happen? Given the Obama administration’s bent towards lawlessness, I have my doubts.

State Department to release Huma Abedin email trove

01/11/16 06:18 PM EST

Updated 01/11/16 06:27 PM EST

The State Department has agreed to process for public release an archive of 29,000 pages of emails longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin sent or received on a private account while working as deputy chief of staff to Clinton from 2009 to 2013.

Abedin turned over the collection of emails to State last year at the agency’s request following the controversy over the disclosure of Clinton’s exclusive use of a private email account while secretary of state. Unlike Clinton, Abedin had an official email account, but she was among senior officials asked to provide any work-related messages in their personal accounts after State officials became concerned that the agency did not have copies of all the official records it should.

State has been releasing portions of Clinton’s email trove on a monthly basis in connection with a court order, a process that is expected to conclude Jan. 29. That process has led to release of some emails Clinton and Abedin exchanged.

At a court hearing in September, a Justice Department attorney said State had no plans to process for release all of the emails submitted by Abedin and other top aides such as Chief of Staff Cheryl Mills and Director of Policy Planning Jake Sullivan.

However, a legal filing Monday in a lawsuit brought by the conservative group Judicial Watch indicated State has acceded to a request to process all the emails Abedin turned over, except for news articles and summaries.

“The parties have agreed that State will produce to Judicial Watch responsive, nonexempt records from within the recently received documents, excluding news clippings/briefings contained therein,” said the court filing (posted here).

The schedule the two sides agreed to has the disclosure of the records overlapping significantly with Clinton’s presidential campaign and will have the State Department ramping up release of Abedin’s private emails just as the agency winds down its disclosure of Clinton’s messages.

The agency has agreed to begin reviewing Abedin’s personal-account emails by March at a rate of at least 400 pages a month and disclosing the releasable portion to Judicial Watch, with releases complete by April 2017. U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell adopted the proposed schedule as an order later Monday.

“This is just an orderly way of getting these records, subject to court oversight,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in an interview Monday. “This is a review of each of those documents.”

In all the cases, the former officials or their lawyers selected the potential federal records from among the broader set of personal and work-related officials in the private accounts.

Fitton said the group wants to check Abedin’s messages against Clinton’s to see if the former secretary’s aide may have deemed some emails to be official that Clinton did not turn over to State.

“Obviously, she was as close an aide as you could have had to Mrs. Clinton. If Mrs. Clinton didn’t keep records she should have or destroyed or deleted them, maybe we can find them through Ms. Abedin. And Ms. Abedin’s activities are also controversial,” the conservative activist said.

An attorney for Abedin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

UPDATE (Monday, 11:27 P.M.): This post has been updated to clarify that State has agreed to process 400 pages of Abedin emails for release each month, not necessarily to disclose that amount.

Judicial Watch: Email Reveals Top Aide Huma Abedin Warning State Department Staffer That Hillary Clinton Is “Often Confused”

waving flagNOVEMBER 16, 2015

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released more than 35 pages of emails former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin revealing that Abedin advised Clinton aide and frequent companion Monica Hanley that it was “very important” to go over phone calls with Clinton because the former Secretary of State was “often confused.”  The emails, from Abedin’s “Huma@clintonemail.com” address, also reveal repeated security breaches, with the Secretary’s schedule and movements being sent and received through Abedin’s non-governmental and unsecured Clinton server account.  The emails document requests for special State Department treatment for a Clinton Foundation associate and Abedin’s mother, a controversial Islamist leader.

The Abedin email material contains a January 26, 2013, email exchange with Clinton aide Monica Hanley regarding Clinton’s schedule in which Abedin says Clinton is “often confused:”

  • Abedin: Have you been going over her calls with her? So she knows singh is at 8? [India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh]
  • Hanley: She was in bed for a nap by the time I heard that she had an 8am call. Will go over with her
  • Abedin: Very imp to do that. She’s often confused.More Evidence

The newly released Abedin emails included a lengthy exchange giving precise details of the Clinton schedule on the Secretary’s final full day in office, Wednesday, January 31, 2013. The email from Lona J. Valmoro, former Special Assistant to Secretary of State Clinton, to Abedin, other top State Department staff, and Clinton associates, reveals exact times (including driving times) and locations of all appointments throughout the day:

The detailed schedule provided in the Abedin email contains an annotation reading: “The information contained in this email is not to be shared, forwarded or duplicated.”

Another Abedin email provides details about a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s leadership.

The Abedin correspondence includes several instances in which the Clinton top aide attempted to obtain special treatment from the State Department for business associates and relatives. In the first instance, Abedin apparently worked with Teneo co-founder and Clinton Global Initiative official Doug Band to intercede on behalf of an individual seeking a visa. In the second instance, Huma Abedin received an email from her mother, Saleha Abedin (a controversial Islamist activist) who founded and serves as dean at Dar al-Hekma University in Saudi Arabia.  In the December 11, 2011, email, Saleha Abedin seeks the assistance of her daughter to help the president of her college, Dr. Suhair al Qurashi, attend a State Department “Women in Public Service” ceremony, which included remarks by Hillary Clinton.  (Mrs. Clinton spoke at Dar al-Hekma University in 2010. Dr. Qurashi and Saleha Abedin introduced Mrs. Clinton’s speech and moderated the subsequent discussion.)

“Huma Abedin’s description of Hillary Clinton as ‘easily confused’ tells you all you need to know why it took a federal lawsuit to get these government emails from Clinton’s illegal email server ,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “These emails also show that Hillary Clinton’s and Huma Abedin’s decision to use the Clinton email server to conduct government business was dangerous and risky.”

The documents were obtained by Judicial Watch on October 30, 2015, in response to a June 5 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed against the State Department, after it failed to respond to a March 18 FOIA request seeking:

  • Emails of official State Department business received or sent by former Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin from January 1, 2009 through February 1, 2013 using a non-“state.gov” email address.hillary-prison-or-potus

Judicial Watch Exposes Hillary Clinton Lie

deleteJudicial Watch Puts Hillary Clinton on the Spot over Abedin Patronage Job

I’m sure you’ve seen and read the usual DC establishment talking heads professing confusion as to why Hillary Clinton would make the “mistake” in setting up a separate email system to conduct government business as secretary of state.  Of course, these types never see the obvious answer – because she had something to hide!  And so did a lot of other Obama administration officials, some still running things at the State Department.

If you have any doubt about this, please take a look at the new State Department records we released yesterday that reveal Hillary Clinton personally signed the authorization for Huma Abedin, her then-deputy chief of staff, to become a special government employee.

The records also show that Abedin declined to provide complete information about her husband Anthony Weiner’s financial dealings.  The records were uncovered as a result of a court order in a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit that seeks records about the controversial, to put it charitably, employment status of Abedin (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:13-cv-01363)).  The records show also that Abedin used a clintonemail.com account to communicate about her special status.  (We know only that Abedin had a clintonemail.com account to conduct business.  Neither Clinton nor the State Department are telling who else from the State Department participated in this shady Clinton email system.)

textual relationsThe lies on this particular issue began in February 2014, when the State Department assured Judicial Watch that it had searched several individual offices of the department, including the office of the executive secretary, which would have included the offices of the secretary of State and top staff.  Relying upon the State Department’s misrepresentation that the agency conducted a reasonable search, Judicial Watch agreed to dismiss its lawsuit on March 14, 2014.  Judge Emmet Sullivan reopened the lawsuit on June 19, 2015, in response to revelations about Clinton’s separate email system.

The newly uncovered documents show that Clinton personally signed the form for Abedin’s appointment as a “Special Government Employee/ senior advisor to Clinton on March 23, 2012.”  The position description form details that Hillary Clinton certifies that Abedin’s “position is necessary to carry out Government functions for which I am responsible.”  The Obama State Department blacked out Clinton’s signature on the form, allegedly to protect Clinton’s privacy.

As Politico, which first reported our find, points out, this document suggests that Mrs. Clinton is a liar:What Difference

Clinton, in an interview with MSNBC on Sept. 4, said she “was not directly involved” with Abedin’s job arrangement.

“Do you think [Donald Trump] had a point in raising the question of whether it was appropriate for her to be taking a State Department salary and also be paid by an outside company closely associated with your husband, by you?” asked reporter Andrea Mitchell.

“Well, I was not directly involved in that, but everything that she did was approved under the rules as they existed by the State Department,” Clinton said.

Snicker-NRD-600-w-logoObviously, she was directly involved and, as you’ll see below, the “rules” were violated left and right.

The documents detail Abedin’s “expert” position, which evidently also required a continued top secret clearance:

As a Senior Advisor (Expert) to the Secretary, the incumbent will provide expert advice and guidance on varying issues related to the planning of logistical arrangements for foreign and domestic missions, and for the coordination of the foreign policy requirements, press, and protocol and security components necessary for a successful and sensitive foreign policy mission.

Hillary-Common-Denominator-b2The documents raise questions about whether Abedin’s position complied with a federal law that prevents special government positions created for work already performed by current employees.  On June 4, 2012, Abedin states “NO, MY NEW POSITION IS IDENTICAL TO MY OLD POSITION.”

Abedin also expressed concern in March 2012 about the State Department finally paying for her travel from New York.  In a March 27, 2012, email about her “conversion to expert appointment,” Abedin writes:

“Have a few questions. One is time sensitive, I need to come down to state tomorrow. Can state start paying for my travel since ny is now my base? I’ve been paying personally for the last 6 months.  Thanks.”

hillary-prison-or-potusThe records show that there was a rush to appoint Abedin to the position, which was initially set to begin on April 1, 2012.  When Abedin was finally approved in June 2012, she had failed to provide her husband Anthony Weiner’s financial information, despite repeated requests from the State Department.

In a March 21, 2012, email, Cynthia Motley, administrative officer in the State Department, writes to Abedin requesting the financial disclosure information:

Huma, I have been advised to begin the process to convert you from your Non-Career SES position as Senior Adviser (Expert-SGE) in the Office of the Secretary which is to be effective April 1, 2012. In order to initiate the conversion appointment, I will need the following from you as soon as possible:

The attached SF-278 Financial Disclosure Report must be completed for your termination from the Non-Career SES appointment.

hillary-serverd2_1160x629On April 3, 2012, in a response to Motely, Abedin begins what turns out to be a lengthy period of non-compliance:

Anthony filed his separate disclosures last june. Nothing has changed. I don’t need to include his stuff on mine, right? Just want to confirm Thanks!

On April 4, Motley again advises Abedin that Weiner’s assets must be disclosed:

I have confirmed with the Legal Office that his assets are imputed to you so his assets are reportable on your OGE-278 which should include all of 2011 and 2012 up to the date.

In May 2012, after Abedin has still failed to file the required disclosures, Sarah Taylor, the chief of the State Department’s financial disclosure division, is forced to contact Abedin in an email marked “Importance: High:”

I have your termination OGE-278 report and the financial disclosure report for the Senior Advisor position. While reviewing your termination OGe-278, I noticed your spouse had several assets that weren’t reported on your report. Can you kindly provide an end of year summary statement so that I can update your report accurately?

Clintons-Again-NRD-600After months of non-productive wrangling, Abedin was appointed to the SGE position on June 3, 2012, without having submitted the proper financial disclosure documents for Weiner, as indicated in a June 22 email from Taylor to Marcela Green of the DOS Financial Disclosures Division:

Yes, she [Abedin] was supposed to give me some information regarding her spouse’s assets and she has not done so.

Another email suggests that as of August 29, 2013, Abedin still hadn’t provided the required financial information.

In a June 6, 2012 email, Abedin admits, “I don’t really know [Weiner’s] clients or his work.”  This email chain discloses that Abedin had already been cleared for the “other position.”

So if the “rules” had been followed, Abedin would never have gotten her sweetheart job that allowed her to double dip from federal taxpayers and Clinton Foundation/Clinton front operations.

ConstancyInterestingly, the State Department produced these records after performing a second search of State Department offices.  The first search, conducted in early 2014, produced only eight pages.  I wonder how these documents were missed in the first place?  You can bet we’ll be asking the court the same thing.

This same litigation saw the development of the FBI and Justice Department rejecting an order by Judge Sullivan to produce information about searching for records on the server and other material reportedly taken from Mrs. Clinton.  As Judicial Watch responded in a court filing this week:

We still do not know whether the FBI… has possession of the email server that was used by Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Abedin to conduct official government business… We also do not know whether the server purportedly in the possession of the FBI – an assumption based on unsworn statements by third parties – is the actual email server that was used by Mrs. Clinton and Ms. Abedin to conduct official government business… Nor do we know whether any copies of the email server or copies of the records from the email server exist.

These documents show the Huma Abedin received special treatment contrary to law and that Hillary Clinton personally approved a corrupt patronage position.

These new documents are smoking gun evidence of what Hillary Clinton’s separate email server was all about – keeping secret the corruption of her and her top staff.

Clinton Democrat PartyWhat else is out there?

Politico reported that, since June 2012, Abedin had been double-dipping, working as a consultant to outside clients while continuing as a top adviser at State.  Abedin’s outside clients included Teneo, a strategic consulting firm co-founded by former Bill Clinton counselor Doug Band.  According to Fox News, Abedin earned $355,000 as a consultant to Teneo, in addition to her $135,000 SGE compensation.

Teneo describes its activities as providing “the leaders of the world’s most respected companies, nonprofit institutions and governments with a full suite of advisory solutions.” [Emphasis added]  Outside of the U.S., it maintains offices in Dubai, London, Dublin, Hong Kong, Brussels, Washington, and Beijing.  Teneo was also the subject of various investigative reports, including by the New York Times, which raise questions about its relationship with the Clinton Foundation.  This week, Politico  also reported that other State Department documents show Abedin was asked to help both the Foundation and Teneo in April 2012.

If JW catching Clinton and Abedin in scams and lies regarding the misuse of public office and your tax dollars isn’t enough for you, then read on….

Clinton Email Games Put Nation at Risk

DemoratesThe Clinton email scandal isn’t only about the subversion of the rule of law.  It is about the nation’s security and, frankly, the safety of senior government officials.  Mrs. Clinton’s email games, ironically, may have put her own personal safety at risk.

If you have any doubt take a look at the more than 50 pages of new emails from the clintonemail.com server account of Huma Abedin, a former top aide to Hillary Clinton during her tenure in the State Department. The emails discuss seemingly sensitive security and foreign affairs issues and raise questions about the handling of classified material.  The documents were obtained as result of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking Huma Abedin’s government business emails conducted on non-state.gov email accounts (Judicial Watch, Inc. v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:15-cv-00684)).  The emails were produced from a search of State Department records, as the agency continues to delay full production of records turned over by Ms. Abedin recently.

In 2012, then-Secretary of State Clinton traveled to Finland (June 27-28), Latvia (June 28), Russia (June 28-29), and Switzerland (June 29-30).  On June 26, 2012, former Principal Deputy Executive Secretary Pamela Quanrud writes to Abedin:

Huma – if I could lobby to get to Geneva on Friday night. We have a big data dump to get from beth jones and others there to prep for Saturday, and it would be a lot better for us to work through the night there (with access to classified) than be stuck in St. Pete with no classified at all.

Abedin responds from her huma@clintonemail.com account the next morning (June 27):

i had no idea about no comms

of course

we need secure

makes total sense

Let’s think for a minute about why this matters and what kind of insight that gives us into how Clinton and her team operated in the U.S. State Department.

The emails show Abedin used the non-secure clintonemail.com server to discuss sensitive travel and operations security information that could have placed the personal security of Clinton and other government officials at risk, such as real-time location information while traveling abroad, such as hotel and travel arrangements.

On May 31, 2012, as Clinton and her State Department entourage are traveling in Scandinavia, Abedin writes to Clinton’s then-Special Assistant Lona J. Valmoro:

Abedin to Valmoro: “Let me know when u r leaving.”

Valmoro: “We are en route to airport now. Could we do during the 45 minute drive from Oslo airport to hotel.  Everyone can dial into Ops and will have minis.”

Abedin: “When? Who’s in car with her?”

Valmoro: “Cheryl is with her now. If we are wheels up by 9:35 pm, land at 11:25, start call by 11:35 or 5:35 pm EDT?

Abedin: “[I] could barely hear [Hillary Clinton] with the background….”

TeflonCan you imagine if these unsecure emails fell into the hands of bad guys?  The threat to the safety of top public officials, especially Mrs. Clinton, could have been enormous.

On June 25, 2012, Abedin writes that she is willing to discuss travel details while on a “packed train.” With the subject line “Could we get on the phone together at 11:30 – in advance of the [Russia] trip call?” Abedin writes to several people, including Quanrud:

I see call got moved to noon. We can talk right before then if you want. All shuttles were canceled this morning and I am sitting on a packed train so hard for me to talk but we can def do calls. [Emphasis added]

Other emails provide details of Clinton’s plans and schedules for the 2012 trip that included Russia, including the timing of calls on trip planning.

Other emails show sensitive foreign affairs information is contained on Abedin’s Clinton server account.  A June 29, 2012, email discloses a move to hold a meeting concerning Syria in Geneva.  Pamela Quanrud writes to Abedin and Valmoro an email with the subject:  “UK and P3 meeting requests:”

UK has asked to meet at 8:45 ahead of a 9:30 with UK. US and France to coordinate. Jake thought P3 meeting necessary – what about UK? Should we say yes to 8:45?

Abedin writes back two hours later:

UK meaning hague?

Another email details a request from the Iraqi Foreign Minister for a bilateral discussion with Clinton.  Abedin uses her clintonemail.com account to approve the “pull aside,” writing, “fine to add to list.”

Another document shows Abedin approving, weeks ahead of time, the Hanoi Sheraton for Clinton’s trip on July 10-11, 2013, to Vietnam.  A June 22, 2012, email from Tulinabo S. Mushingi, who is now the U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso, details the hotel options in Hanoi for Abedin, with Sheraton as the number one option.  The email details both the luxury and security aspects of the hotel:

The Sheraton hosted the Secretary in July 2010 and October 2010 and much of the hotel staff remains, so they know the drill The July 2010 visit S stayed in the Imperial Suite (shown in attachment and the suite available for this visit); in October 2010, since another Head of State was also in the Sheraton and occupied the Imperial Suite S stayed in the Presidential Suite. The Imperial suite is spacious and very bright and airy, with lake views. It has a large bathroom with Jacuzzi style tub and walk in shower. The Sheraton was redecorated and refurbished within the past 12 months, so it is in excellent condition and is very attractive. From a logistics perspective the hotel is excellent as it has a very large parking area for staging motorcades. It’s location is in close proximity to government buildings where most meetings are likely to be held.

***

P.S. Post reminded us that the entire focus of the Hanoi stop is to promote U.S. businesses and trade. Given the purpose of the stop, the optics of staying at the available quality American name brand hotels would carry the same message, hence another for choosing The Sheraton.

Like I SaidMushingi also suggests that one other hotel choice is not up to par in that “the suite bathroom is nice, but not quite to the standard of the Sheraton.”  Your tax dollars at work ensuring Mrs. Clinton has the best possible luxury bathroom!

On August 8, in response to another JW FOIA lawsuit, Clinton was forced to file a sworn declaration in which she claimed to have turned over to the agency “all my e-mails on clintonemail.com” and conceded “Huma Abedin did have such an account which was used at times for government business.”  Again, neither the State Department, Clinton, nor Abedin has provided information about the status of Abedin’s emails (or the emails of any other government employee) on the clintonemail.com server.

What conclusions can we draw from this?

These emails your JW forced out through a federal lawsuit show that Huma Abedin used her separate clintonemail.com account to conduct the most sensitive government business, endangering not only her safety but the safety of Hillary Clinton and countless others.  And why on Earth would Ms. Abedin and Mrs. Clinton recklessly use this unsecure system to discuss foreign affairs and sensitive matters such as the Syria conflict?

Hillary Clinton’s email games were a danger to the nation’s security.

Clinton confidant cuts ties with the formidable family

waving flagBy Isabel Vincent and Melissa Klein

Just weeks before Hillary Clinton kicked off her campaign for president on Roosevelt Island, a Clinton family loyalist quietly parted ways with the powerful clan. Doug Band, a man once so close to President Bill Clinton that he was considered a surrogate son, left the Clinton Foundation, where he had various board appointments, The Post has learned. Band declined to comment, except to confirm he resigned his position last month. The departure marks the end of a complicated relationship between Band’s controversial consultant corporation, Teneo, and the Clintons.

And while the Clinton Foundation has been under fire for allegedly trading millions of dollars in donations for access to Bill and Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of state, Teneo’s role is less well-known. But Teneo played a part in what author Daniel Halper in his 2014 book “Clinton Inc.,” described as a vast money-making machine. “I think Teneo is not just emblematic of how Clinton Inc. works, it shows the political and financial mess that this whole thing has created,” Halper told The Post.

In a preview of the Clinton Foundation scandals that have dogged Hillary Clinton this year, The New Republic noted the suspicious nature of Band’s work in a 2013 article. “There’s an undertow of transactionalism in the glittering annual dinners, the fixation on celebrity and a certain contingent of donors whose charitable contributions and business interests occupy an uncomfortable proximity. More than anyone else except [Bill] Clinton himself, Band is responsible for creating this culture. And not only did he create it, he has thrived in it.”

Get Rich Quick

Now headquartered on the 45th floor of the Citigroup Center in Manhattan, and with offices around the world, Teneo — Latin for “to guide” — started more modestly in 2009 by business consultant Paul Keary.

Band and Declan Kelly, who had been US economic envoy to Northern Ireland in Hillary Clinton’s State Department, joined the firm in 2011, turning it into a global powerhouse.

Band is a 42-year-old Florida native who started his career at 22 as an intern in the Clinton White House. He earned a law degree, worked his way up at the White House, eventually becoming indispensable to the president as his aide or “body man.” Band was constantly by the president’s side, carrying bags and keeping Clinton on schedule.

When Clinton left office in 2001, Band reportedly turned down a job at Goldman Sachs and stuck with the former president as his personal assistant. Band became the gatekeeper for those wanting access to Clinton. The two were so close that Band was at Clinton’s bedside when he had heart bypass surgery in 2004. It was Band who, in 2005, came up with the idea for the Clinton Global Initiative, a yearly meeting of business bigwigs and heads of state in Manhattan.

Band was paid by Clinton and, once the Global Initiative was up and running, he drew a salary of $110,000 to head the group. But he was also paid an undisclosed extra amount of money by Clinton benefactor Ron Burkle, who sent checks to SGRD, Band’s Florida-based LLC, The Wall Street Journal reported. It was an attempt to keep Band on board with Clinton and not flee to a more lucrative position, the newspaper reported.

Band got rich quickly. By 2003, he bought a $2.1 million condo at the Metropolitan Tower on West 57th Street. He sold it in 2008 for $4.1 million and moved to the tony Essex House on Central Park South, where he still lives in a sprawling apartment.

Band married investment banker Lily Rafii in 2007. Clinton attended the wedding in a Paris chateau even though Band had asked him not to come. “Not only did he come, he made this incredible speech,” Band told a Florida newspaper in 2009.

Band traveled the world with Clinton, even accompanying him to North Korea in 2009 to secure the release of two journalists.

Band, in his bio on the Teneo website, says he was “part of the negotiation team that handled all aspects of Hillary Clinton’s becoming secretary of state.”

Clinton told The Washington Post in 2008, “I’m amazed he still works for me because he could make a lot more money somewhere else.”

‘Promise of Access’

In 2011, Band did branch out on his own, joining the fledgling Teneo and recruiting Bill Clinton to be a member of the advisory board. Clients paid staggering monthly retainers — up to $250,000 — to Band’s company. They were reportedly encouraged to give to the Clinton Foundation and, in turn, foundation donors were encouraged to use the services of Teneo. “The idea for Teneo was to have Fortune 400 companies pay large monthly stipends in exchange for access to Band, Clinton and their massive international network. The group would ‘consult’ with the companies, offer strategic advice and help them overcome issues in various countries across the globe,” Halper wrote in “Clinton Inc.”

But a former Teneo employee told Halper that what the clients really got was nothing, other than an “implicit promise of access to Clinton.”

In addition to Clinton, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former US Sen. George Mitchell and Ed Rollins, Ronald Reagan’s campaign manager, all came on board at Teneo.fishy

Clinton was the key to Teneo’s success. “The two needed the president,” a source told Halper. “It was he who they were selling to their corporate clients. Or, more precisely, it was their proximity to power — President Clinton, and his wife, who was then secretary of state — and their own Rolodexes, which were a natural extension of the work they had done over the years for the Clintons.” Clients included Bank of America, Dow Chemical, UBS Wealth Management and Coca-Cola.

In exchange, Bill Clinton was given a contract with Teneo worth $3.5 million, Halper said. It is unclear, however, how much Clinton was actually paid.

The Chelsea Problem

Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, also wanted to muscle in on the action and asked for an equity stake in the company, Halper reported. But Band refused, seeing too much of a potential conflict in doing business with the daughter of the secretary of state. There may have been some “sibling” rivalry between Band and Chelsea Clinton.

In 2008, Band told restaurant owner Nino Selimaj to take down Chelsea’s photo from the wall of Osso Buco saying the former first daughter was not a public figure, according to New York magazine. In the end, Bill Clinton’s tenure at Teneo was short-lived.

The Post reported in December 2011 that Teneo had been advising MF Global, the doomed international brokerage firm headed by former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine. The firm paid Teneo an eye-popping $125,000 a month as it was imploding and losing millions for its investors.

Although Clinton’s office insisted the former president was not profiting from the MF Global arrangement, Hillary Clinton was said to be furious over the controversy. By February 2012, Clinton stepped down from Teneo. Shortly before he severed ties with the company, Clinton reportedly started to resent how Band and his partner Declan Kelly threw his name around to inflate Teneo’s importance. In one reported instance, Kelly seemed to take public credit for getting Clinton invited to speak at an economic forum in Dublin. But the former president had actually been invited by the Irish prime minister and was said to explode in anger at the suggestion that Teneo had somehow brokered his participation at the event.

But the connection to the Clintons continued. In June 2012, Hillary Clinton’s senior aide Huma Abedin began working as a part-time consultant to Teneo during her final months at the State Department.

Abedin, the wife of disgraced former Congressman Anthony Weiner, was designated a “special government employee,” which allowed her to both work for the State Department and to hold outside gigs. She also consulted for the Clinton Foundation and for Hillary Clinton.

Once the arrangement became known, there was criticism that there was overlap between a private firm and the inner workings of the State Department.

A source close to the negotiations told The Post that the deal came about as a way to help Abedin financially after her husband resigned in the wake of a sexting scandal in June 2011. “The truth is people felt sorry for Huma,” the source said. Asked if Abedin provided any inside intelligence about the State Department for Teneo, the source denied it. “People watch too much ‘House of Cards.’ ”Clinton Democrat Party

After Huma’s arrangement with Teneo came to light, Sen. Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, asked the Government Accountability Office to conduct a review of the special government employee exception.

New Business

While it’s not clear whether Band or Teneo will play a part in Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, the company has continued to wield influence on a global scale without Bill Clinton on the board. Its website says its executives are involved in everything from sorting out issues around the Greek financial meltdown to working to leverage economic opportunities in Africa. It recently opened offices in the Far East and Brazil.

Tax filings show that Band was last paid by the Clinton Foundation in 2012, when he got $53,000. He remained linked to a European arm of the Clinton Foundation until stepping down last month.

A source told The Post that it became increasingly difficult for Clinton loyalists like Band to work with the Foundation after Chelsea Clinton was brought on board. “She wanted to be famous and rich and have a place to go,” said the source, adding that Chelsea was too inexperienced for the job. “It just didn’t make any sense.”Demorates
