Fully embracing anarchy, Democrat leaders in Chicago, a sanctuary city; and in Illinois, a sanctuary state, are using every possible method to thwart federal immigration authorities from removing illegal aliens and curtailing rampant crime there.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson issued an executive order Monday creating an ICE Free Zone, preventing ICE from using city property, such as parking lots, as staging areas, or for enforcement actions. City agencies are directed to use physical barriers like locked gates to limit access to city property, and report to the mayor any attempted use of city property for immigration enforcement. Chicago taxpayers will fund a city-wide distribution of “Know Your Rights” materials for employees, tenants, and security staff, training them to deal with federal agents wishing to use city property.

Gov. JB Pritzker announced the state filed a lawsuit Monday seeking a temporary restraining order to block President Donald Trump from using Illinois and Texas National Guard troops to manage crime in Chicago.

“Illinois is going to use every lever at our disposal to resist this power grab and get (DHS Sec. Kristi) Noem’s thugs hell out of Chicago,” Pritzker said in a Monday afternoon press conference. He also said several times that Texas troops should, “stay the hell out of Illinois.”

Over the weekend, Oct. 4, Border Patrol agents were conducting a patrol in Chicago when their vehicle was rammed by other vehicles and they were boxed in by 10 cars, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement.

“The officers exited their trapped vehicle, when a suspect tried to run them over, forcing the officers to fire defensively,” the statement said. “One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fired defensive shots at an armed U.S. citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.”

An angry crowd gathered around ICE agents and instead of offering back up assistance, Chicago Police offers on the scene left, according to DHS, and those on the way were instructed to stage blocks away, leaving ICE on its own, according to reporting from FOX News.

This incident alone underscores how out of control crime is in Chicago. It is not every city where goons feel comfortable ramming a law enforcement vehicle and surrounding it. There were 22 shootings in Chicago over the weekend. Yet local officials insisted that crime is down, and federal help is not wanted or needed.

During the press conference, Johnson spoke of people showing up to “organize, to build the resistance.”

“It’s going to take everything, litigation, executive orders, legislation, and I believe, most importantly, the people of this city and county, the state, and throughout the country, pushing back against tyranny,” Johnson said.

Reporters asked provocative questions such as what measures officials are willing to take if they don’t win in court, and are they calling for a civil war?

Pritzker said the federal government is “creating an environment in which they’re inciting people to do something more than just peacefully protest.” And he fearmongered, claiming federal officials were “firing at people who are doing nothing more than yelling” and “saying what they believe, or holding signs.” He makes it sound like calm people are just standing around getting shot by the federal government, totally unprovoked, and in the same press conference people were urged to “organize” and “build a resistance” against Trump. The politicians are trying to whip the public up into a frenzy.

Pritzker planned on going to court before Trump called up the National Guard. His legal team has been working, “for weeks,” he said, writing the case that was filed Monday, in anticipation of the arrival of federal troops.

Pritzker is also upset that the U.S. Border Patrol has been sent to the city.

“They have declared that the border is at the shores of Lake Michigan. That is why they’re allowed to operate now, or at least why they’re being told they’re allowed to operate in the city of Chicago. That doesn’t seem right to me,” Pritzker said. He said as far as he knows, the border is on the other side of Lake Michigan.

Trump Delivers Ultimatum to Foreign Companies After ICE Raid

By Jimmy Parker | September 8, 2025

In a decisive response to last week’s significant immigration enforcement operation, President Donald J. Trump has issued a powerful call to action for all foreign corporations investing on American soil. The operation, which targeted a Hyundai battery construction plant in Georgia, resulted in the arrest of 475 individuals who were found to be in the United States illegally or in violation of their visa terms. President Trump’s statement serves as a stark warning that the era of exploiting loopholes and disregarding federal immigration law has come to an abrupt and final end under his strong leadership.

Contrary to the narrative undoubtedly being spun by the liberal media, this enforcement is not about hostility toward foreign investment or global talent. In fact, President Trump explicitly encourages it, but he demands it be conducted within the clear boundaries of the law. As the President firmly stated, “Your Investments are welcome, and we encourage you to LEGALLY bring your very smart people, with great technical talent, to build World Class products, and we will make it quickly and legally possible for you to do so.” This position underscores a fundamental commitment to fairness and legality, principles that the previous administration, which openly celebrated this very plant, seemingly ignored in its pursuit of hollow economic victories.

The core of the President’s message is a simple and fair bargain for any company wishing to benefit from the world’s greatest consumer market and most powerful economy. The United States will facilitate the legal entry of essential technical expertise, but in return, corporations have a solemn duty to prioritize the American worker. President Trump’s declaration leaves no room for misinterpretation: “What we ask in return is that you hire and train American Workers. Together, we will all work hard to make our Nation not only productive, but closer in unity than ever before.” This stand for the American citizen is a refreshing change from the globalist policies that have for decades left hardworking citizens competing unfairly for jobs in their own country.

The sheer scale of the raid, where a majority of the nearly 500 arrested were reportedly South Korean nationals, exposes a blatant disregard for U.S. Code § 1324, which explicitly makes it unlawful to hire unauthorized aliens. While the predictable hand-wringing from the left will focus on the individuals detained, President Trump’s unwavering focus remains on the rule of law and protecting American jobs.

His administration’s actions prove that no company, no matter how large or foreign, is above the law. This enforcement, coupled with the successful negotiation for the repatriation of over 300 individuals, demonstrates a level of operational competence and diplomatic strength that was utterly absent just a few years ago.

This event is a direct result of the America First policies that have secured over $5 trillion in private and foreign investments for U.S. manufacturing and infrastructure. President Trump has proven that a nation can be both open for business and fiercely protective of its sovereignty and its citizens’ prosperity. His leadership ensures that economic growth will no longer be built on the back of illegal labor, but on the innovation of legal immigration and the unmatched talent of the American workforce.

Exclusive: Hundreds Of Ballots Cast By More Than 100 Potential Noncitizens In Texas, AG Says

It is good officials are still digging into the 2020 election, but it is past time to repair the election process for future elections.

Welcome to 2025, where we are still uncovering election fraud from the 2020 and 2022 elections. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is investigating more than 100 possible noncitizens who may have voted in both the 2020 and 2022 elections, casting more than 200 ballots. In this case, most of the suspected illegal ballots were cast in Harris County. Paxton is also investigating in Guadalupe, Cameron, and Eastland counties, based on information from the Texas Secretary of State.

Add the possible 100 fraudulent voters announced this week to the 33 potential noncitizens who may have voted illegally in 2024. Paxton started investigating those 33 voters in June after the Texas secretary of state made a referral, based on information found in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service’s (USCIS) SAVE database, showing they voted in the 2024 general election.

Some 1,200 federal agencies use SAVE to verify U.S. citizenship or determine current immigration. For example, when an applicant applies for a Social Security Number, a drivers license, or for public housing assistance, the agency will check SAVE to see if they are a citizen. Legally, noncitizens are not allowed to vote in U.S. elections.

“Illegal aliens and foreign nationals must not be allowed to influence Texas elections by casting illegal ballots with impunity. I will not allow it to continue,” Paxton said in a statement. “Thanks to President Trump’s decisive action to help states safeguard the ballot box, this investigation will help Texas hold noncitizens accountable for unlawfully voting in American elections. If you’re a noncitizen who illegally cast a ballot, you will face the full force of the law.”

No one can realistically say fraudulent, noncitizen voting doesn’t happen. There are too many examples to ignore. Sometimes it is a single incident with one voter, like the Chinese student living in Michigan who was improperly registered to vote and is charged with voting the November election. Other times, it is a group of voters, like when Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson found 15 likely noncitizens across the state voted in November’s election, but she said illegal activity is “very rare.”

So rare, that an audits of voter registration rolls in Iowa found 277 noncitizens registered to vote or actually voted in the 2024 election.  In Oregon, the elections director quit after officials discovered more than 300 noncitizens had been registered to vote, and the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles processed more than 54,600 voter registrations, 2021-2024, with an unknown citizenship.

Just last month, the Senate Judiciary Committee announced it is investigating newly declassified FBI documents alleging that in 2020 the Chinese Communist Party was making thousands of fake U.S. driver’s licenses to use to validate fake mail-in ballots. The investigation is ongoing, but we can already see it is a huge scandal. And the list goes on, and on, and on. Not rare.

The remedy is so simple. Mandatory voter identification at voter registration and when voting. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act would keep noncitizens from voting by requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote. It passed in the House in April and still has not moved in the Senate. It should be a bipartisan issue, but Democrats have claimed that providing identification is a burden that disenfranchises voters.

It is good officials are still digging into how the 2020 election went off the rails, so we understand the weak spots. But it is past time to shore up the election process with simple fixes like the SAVE Act, so in 2030 we are not still trying to figure out what happened in 2028.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 11 Iranian nationals over two days, the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday. Among those in custody is Ribvar Karimi, who “reportedly served as an Iranian army sniper from 2018 to 2021,” according to the DHS.  An Islamic Republic of Iran Army identification card was in Karimi’s possession when he was arrested in Locust, Alabama, on Sunday.

Karimi entered the U.S. in October 2024 on a visa for foreigners who are engaged to be married to a U.S. citizen. But the DHS says he “never adjusted his status—a legal requirement—and is removable from the United States.”

Karimi remains in ICE custody and is facing removal from the U.S.

Ribvar Karimi

Under DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, the department “has been full throttle on identifying and arresting known or suspected terrorists and violent extremists that illegally entered this country, came in through [former President Joe Biden’s] fraudulent parole programs or otherwise,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

“We have been saying we are getting the worst of the worst out—and we are,” McLaughlin added. “We don’t wait until a military operation to execute. We proactively deliver on President [Donald] Trump’s mandate to secure the homeland.”

In addition to Karimi, ICE arrested eight other Iranian nationals on Sunday and two more on Monday.

The arrests of the Iranian nationals come amid concerns of the possibility of the activation of Iranian terrorist sleeper cells in the U.S. in the wake of the U.S. attack on three Iranian nuclear sites Saturday.

In Houston, ICE arrested Behzad Sepehrian Bahary Nejad, who entered the U.S. on a visa in 2016. He was arrested in 2017 for assaulting a family member, according to DHS, and in 2019, an immigration judge ordered his removal. A Department of Justice immigration judge denied his request for his case to be reopened. Nejad was said to be carrying a loaded pistol when ICE arrested him.

Behzad Sepehrian Bahary Nejad

Hamid Reza Bayat was arrested in Houston despite having been ordered removed from the U.S. in 2005. According to DHS, he has twice been “convicted of drug crimes and once convicted of driving on a suspended license.”

Hamid Reza Bayat

Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand entered the U.S. in 2012, and in 2013 a judge granted him voluntary removal from the U.S., but he never left. He is “convicted of threatening a law enforcement officer and being an alien in possession of a firearm,” according to DHS.

Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand

Yousef Mehridehno was arrested in Gluckstadt, Mississippi. Mehridehno entered the U.S. legally in 2017, but the government terminated his residency after it was determined that he “lied on his original visa application and committed potential marriage fraud,” according to DHS. “In February, Mehridehno was listed as a known or suspected terrorist, and he’s now in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.”

Yousef Mehridehno

Mahmoud Shafiei and Mehrdad Mehdipour were living together in Colorado Springs, Colo., at the time of their arrests. A judge ordered Shafiei removed from the U.S. in 1987 after he entered the U.S. in 1981.  Shafiei’s “criminal history includes state and federal convictions for drug crimes and arrests for assault and child abuse,” according to the DHS.  Mehdipour was processed for expedited removal in 2023.

Mahmoud Shafiei

ICE arrested Mehran Makari Saheli in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a “former member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) with admitted connections to Hezbollah,” according to DHS. He was ordered removed from the U.S. in 2022.

Mehran Makari Saheli

Bahman Alizadeh Asfestani was arrested in San Francisco and has a criminal history, according to DHS, that includes “a 1994 conviction for petty theft and a 1995 conviction of possession of a controlled substance for sale.”

On Monday, ICE Buffalo arrested Mohammad Rafikian who has been “convicted of grand larceny, schemes to defraud, criminal impersonation, and practicing as an attorney,” the DHS said.

Also on Monday, ICE San Diego apprehended Arkavan Babk Moirokorli. He was convicted of forging an official seal.

Victor Davis Hanson on LA: Gavin Newsom Has ‘Ruined His Chances Ever to be a Serious National Candidate’ (VIDEO)

By Mike LaChance – The Gateway Pundit – June 9, 2025

Conservative scholar and historian Victor Davis Hanson has released a new video in which he talks about the situation in Los Angeles.
Right out of the gate, Hanson suggests that California Governor Gavin Newsom has ‘ruined’ whatever chance he had to be taken seriously as a national candidate. If that wasn’t true after the way he handled the wildfires, it certainly is now.
Speaking more broadly, Hanson notes the optics of the situation and says it’s going to end badly for Democrats.

Noem: ICE Arrests Illegal Tied to Threat on Trump’s Life

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials arrested an illegal alien who allegedly wrote a letter in which he threatened to kill President Donald Trump. On May 21, an ICE field intelligence officer received a handwritten letter in the mail allegedly from Ramon Morales Reyes, 54, a Mexican national who entered the U.S. illegally at least nine times between 1998-2005. The next day, Reyes was arrested.

“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” Noem said in a statement, which included a copy of the letter allegedly written by Reyes and details of his arrest. “This threat comes not even a year after President Trump was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania, and less than two weeks after former FBI Director [James] Comey called for the President’s assassination.”

Noem was referring to a now-deleted Instagram post by Comey of a photo of seashells arranged on a beach to form the numbers “86 47” — a combination many interpreted as a coded call for violence against President Trump.

“All politicians and members of the media should take notice of these repeated attempts on President Trump’s life and tone down their rhetoric,” Noem said. “I will continue to take all measures necessary to ensure the protection of President Trump.”

Reyes’ criminal record includes arrests for felony hit and run, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier, DHS said. He is in ICE custody at Dodge County Jail in Juneau, Wisconsin, pending his removal proceedings.

The letter stated, “We are tired of this president messing with us Mexicans – we have done more for this country than you white people – you have been deporting my family and I think it is time Donald J. Trump get what he has coming to him. I will self deport myself back to Mexico but not before I use my 30 yard 6 [rifle] to shoot your precious president in the head – I will see him at one of his big rally’s.”

‘Off our streets’: ICE makes major arrest of internationally wanted ‘suspected terrorist’

EXCLUSIVE: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made a high-profile arrest on Monday in Maryland.

DHS told Fox News Digital that Joel Armando Mejia-Benitez, 38, is a “validated MS-13 gang member” from El Salvador who had no visas “approved or pending” at the moment of his arrest.

“ICE Baltimore arrested Joel Armando Mejia-Benitez an MS-13 gang member with an Interpol Red Notice. He first entered the country illegally in 2005 and was deported. He then reentered our country at an unknown date before he was arrested by HSI Baltimore in 2014. He was issued a notice to appear and released back into Silver Spring, MD,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital in an exclusive statement.

An Interpol Red Notice is put out by the international legal group asking to “locate and provisionally arrest” somebody. It’s not considered an “international arrest warrant,” but it’s meant to make sure a person is taken into custody for further legal action, according to Interpol’s website. The Red Notice database has over 6,500 individuals.

The arrest comes as the Department of Homeland Security marks 100 days with Secretary Kristi Noem at the helm as of Monday.

“This criminal illegal gang member and suspected terrorist should have never been released into our country. Thanks to President Trump and Secretary Noem, he is off our streets and will soon be out of our country,” McLaughlin continued.

The latest arrest comes as ICE touts over 65,000 illegal alien removals and over 66,000 arrests since Trump took office in January, including thousands with existing criminal convictions on top of being in the United States illegally.

“The brave men and women of ICE protect our families, friends and neighbors by removing public safety and national security threats from our communities,” ICE acting Director Todd M. Lyons said in a statement. “During President Trump’s first 100 days, ICE alone has arrested over 65,000 illegal aliens — including 2,288 gang members from Tren de Aragua, MS-13, 18th Street and other gangs. Additionally, 1,329 were accused or convicted of sex offenses, and 498 were accused or convicted of murder.”

Many alleged gang members have been to CECOT in El Salvador, which has garnered praise, but it’s also ignited a major debate about who qualifies for due process.

The Trump administration has made the argument that members of designated foreign terrorist organization, which includes MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, do not go through the same legal processes, whereas many others, including Democrats, have argued to the contrary.

Meanwhile, encounters at the border have taken a nosedive in recent months.

VIDEO: Stephen Miller Schools Reporter on Immigration—Watch the Viral Showdown!

By  Jimmy Parker | April 29, 2025

Read more at https://pagetraveler.com/stephen-miller-schools-reporter-on-immigration-watch-the-viral-showdown/

Stephen Miller, the fearless Trump advisor and architect of America First immigration policies, dismantled a left-wing reporter’s attempt to smear the Trump administration’s deportation efforts. The reporter, clearly pushing a biased narrative, tried to frame the administration as cruel for deporting illegal alien mothers—ignoring the fact that these individuals broke U.S. law and that many, like the Honduran mother in question, requested deportation for themselves and their children.

The reporter smugly asked, “Is it the best use of the administration’s resources to be going after moms of young kids, basically?”—a classic leftist gotcha question designed to paint Trump’s enforcement policies as heartless. But Miller, refusing to play along, flipped the script and exposed the absurdity of the media’s open-borders agenda.

Miller’s Devastating Response:
“Do you yourself have an opinion on this subject? What percentage of the, let’s just pick an even number of say, 10 million illegal aliens. Let’s say that Biden released, I think it’s close to 20 million. Let’s say he released 10 million illegal aliens into the country over the last four years. What percentage do you think we should let stay here of those 10 million?”

The reporter, flustered, shouted back, “I’m not trying to do a game!”—proving that the liberal media can’t handle it when their own emotional arguments are turned against them. Miller pressed further: “Is it your view that if a Democrat president releases 10, 15, 20 million illegals into the country, they all then should get to stay forever and for all of life?”

The reporter, unable to defend the disastrous Biden border crisis, deflected: “Stephen, I don’t have a view about what Democratic presidents do. I’m asking what the Republican president…”

Miller, unrelenting, shut it down: “Okay, so you don’t want to answer the question because you know the answer is obvious. Everyone that Biden let in has to go home. Of course. It’s a crazy thing to even ask. You think we should give administrative amnesty to some subset of the illegals that Biden [let in]?”

He then delivered the knockout blow, reaffirming Trump’s commitment to law and order: “ICE is going to continue to focus on raids against high-threat criminal aliens. We’re going to use the entire force and power of the federal government to get them all home. Many will choose also to leave voluntarily and take advantage of the CBP Home app. But we are not going to ask taxpayers to subsidize the presence of a single illegal alien in this country.”

This exchange perfectly encapsulates the media’s hypocrisy. They feign concern for illegal aliens while ignoring the catastrophic consequences of open borders—soaring crime, drained resources, and the erosion of American sovereignty. Meanwhile, President Trump and his administration are the only ones serious about protecting American citizens and enforcing the law.

The United States will “hopefully” start moving migrants to a detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, within 30 days, The Washington Post reported on Friday, citing House border czar Tom Homan.

The facility was first announced by President Donald Trump on Wednesday.

“Hopefully within 30 days we’ll start moving people there,” Homan told the newspaper.

Homan said he planned to travel to the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in the coming weeks to oversee the fast-tracked construction of the facility. Although Trump said the facility would hold as many as 30,000 migrants, Homan said they would probably start with a small number, according to The Washington Post.

The U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay already houses a migrant facility – separate from the high-security U.S. prison for foreign terrorism suspects – that has been used on occasion for decades, including to hold Haitians and Cubans picked up at sea.

Universities Announce Plans to Defy Federal Immigration Enforcement

With the election of Donald Trump, the federal government and both local and educational authorities are on a collision course over immigration policies. Many states and cities have reaffirmed that they will oppose any deportation efforts, including another recent chest-pounding interview by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker. It is likely that the federal government will squeeze federal funding for sanctuary states and cities, though such efforts can trigger “commandeering” and other legal challenges. Universities may be in a more precarious position, but some like the Los Rios Community College District in California are doubling down on plans to oppose any federal enforcement efforts.

Various university and college presidents have reaffirmed their support for undocumented students and staff, including most recently Fordham University President Tania Tetlow. However, the Los Rios Community College District seems to have laid out a more concrete plan to oppose federal enforcement, a plan that was referenced in a January 28 email. The district covers American River College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College, and Sacramento City College.

The email states that “[t]here have been reports all over the country of increased immigration raids in association with Executive Orders tied to immigration enforcement.” It seeks to address the “[f]ear … widespread throughout the undocumented and ally communities about their safety and the safety of their families and loved ones.”

Just after Trump’s election, Los Rios published a “Compact in Support of Undocumented and DACA Students and Employees,” including the possible concealment of immigration status.

Here are the eight commitments:

  1. Los Rios will do everything in its power to fight for the rights of our immigrant and undocumented students and employees and will always do everything possible to uphold the values of our institutions.
  2. Los Rios stands with state and local leaders who have pledged to do everything possible to defend the rights and protections of immigrant and undocumented Californians.
  3. Los Rios commits to advocating for a permanent legislative solution to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and a pathway to citizenship for our immigrant communities.
  4. Los Rios will immediately provide additional resources to our Undocumented Resource Centers.
  5. The Los Rios Police reaffirms its commitment to not participate in immigration-related activities, including arresting and/or detaining students, consistent with organizational values and state law.
  6. Los Rios will protect students’ rights and confidentiality and will not share the immigration status of students or employees.
  7. Los Rios, its colleges, and partners will do a full review of internal policies and regulations to ensure that we are doing everything possible to protect the rights of students and employees.
  8. The Los Rios Colleges Foundation will create Dream Center Funds with resources for each college, administered by the Undocumented Resource Center on each campus. The Foundation will encourage other community members, employees, and private and corporate funders to give support to undocumented students to help remove critical barriers to their success, such as paying for DACA renewal fees, legal fees, purchasing laptops, and additional resources.

Number 6 is particularly interesting in promising an active role to conceal or withhold immigration status information.

We have been down this road before. Schools previously fought this battle over efforts to bar military recruiters. While I have been a vocal supporter of gay rights on many fronts, I was one of those who opposed the litigation that my law school joined. At the time, I stated that it was not only a clear loser on the law but also represented a type of hypocrisy: We insist that we cannot allow discrimination, but if money is at stake, we will allow it.

In Rumsfeld v. Forum for Academic and Institutional Rights, Inc., 547 U.S. 47 (2006), the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the federal government, under the Solomon Amendment, could constitutionally withhold funding from universities if they barred military recruiters from interviewing students.  The Solomon Amendment denied federal funding to an institution of higher education that “has a policy or practice … that either prohibits, or in effect prevents” the military “from gaining access to campuses, or access to students … on campuses, for purposes of military recruiting in a manner that is at least equal in quality and scope to the access to campuses and to students that is provided to any other employer.” 10 U. S. C. A. §983(b) (Supp. 2005).

It is easier to limit funds for universities, but it can still raise constitutional problems from free speech to associational rights.

In Rumsfeld v. FAIR, Chief Justice John Roberts noted that such laws could run afoul of the unconstitutional conditions doctrine “if Congress could not directly require universities to provide military recruiters equal access to their students.”  He then added:

“This case does not require us to determine when a condition placed on university funding goes beyond the ‘reasonable’ choice offered in Grove City and becomes an unconstitutional condition. It is clear that a funding condition cannot be unconstitutional if it could be constitutionally imposed directly. See Speiser v. Randall, 357 U. S. 513, 526 (1958). Because the First Amendment would not prevent Congress from directly imposing the Solomon Amendment’s access requirement, the statute does not place an unconstitutional condition on the receipt of federal funds.

The Solomon Amendment neither limits what law schools may say nor requires them to say anything. Law schools remain free under the statute to express whatever views they may have on the military’s congressionally mandated employment policy, all the while retaining eligibility for federal funds. See Tr. of Oral Arg. 25 (Solicitor General acknowledging that law schools “could put signs on the bulletin board next to the door, they could engage in speech, they could help organize student protests”). As a general matter, the Solomon Amendment regulates conduct, not speech. It affects what law schools must do—afford equal access to military recruiters—not what they may or may not say.”

The coming challenges could raise the question left open in Rumsfeld v. FAIR. However, the question is whether universities, particularly state institutions, want to go down this road of confrontation rather than cooperation.

The Birthright Citizenship Clause Too Many Forget, but Trump Is Right to Question

Few of President Donald Trump’s new executive orders have caused as much alarm as the one on birthright citizenship.

That order prohibits federal agencies from issuing or accepting citizenship documents for children born in the U.S. when neither parent is a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident at the time of the child’s birth.

Critics paint it as flagrantly unconstitutional, including a misinformed federal judge in Seattle who issued a temporary injunction against it last week. But the new policy fits squarely within the text and original meaning of the 14th Amendment.

For the first century following the 14th Amendment’s ratification, few legal scholars would have batted an eye at a directive like Trump’s. If anything, they’d have been more confused as to why the federal government started issuing passports to the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens, tourists, and “temporary sojourners” in the first place.

Contrary to popular belief, the law doesn’t say that all people born in the U.S. are citizens. It says that “all persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” are citizens. That second, critical, conditional phrase is conveniently ignored or misinterpreted by advocates of “universal” birthright citizenship.

This was intended to constitutionalize the protections of the 1866 Civil Rights Act, which provided that “all persons born in the United States, and not subject to any foreign power” would be considered citizens.

The change in language didn’t reflect a desire on Congress’ part to abrogate the statutory definition or adopt universal birthright citizenship. In fact, the Civil Rights Act remained valid law for another 70 years, with courts and legal scholars alike assuming that it was perfectly consistent with the citizenship clause.

That’s because the sponsors of the 14th Amendment made it clear that “subject to the jurisdiction” of the U.S. means owing your political allegiance to the U.S., and not to another country. Children born to aliens are citizens of their parents’ native land, and thus owe their allegiance to, and are subject to the jurisdiction of, that native land.

Legislative history shows that Congress intended the 14th Amendment to eliminate permanent race-based barriers to citizenship—not to bestow citizenship on everyone born within the geographical confines of the United States. Congress didn’t intend birthright citizenship to apply to the U.S.-born children of those who owed only a limited allegiance to the United States.

Even modern proponents of “universal birthright citizenship” admit that the children born on U.S. soil to diplomats or tribally affiliated Native Americans don’t obtain birthright citizenship. In fact, they and their children were only made citizens through the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924—legislation that wouldn’t have been necessary if the 14th Amendment adopted common law rules of universal birthright citizenship.

While critics of Trump’s order claim that universal birthright citizenship is “the settled law of the land,” the Supreme Court has never definitively addressed this issue.  The first time the nation’s highest court opined on the meaning of the citizenship clause—in the famous Slaughter-House cases of 1872—it stated that the phrase “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” excluded “children of ministers, consuls, and citizens or subjects of foreign States born within the United States.”   The court confirmed this understanding in 1884 in Elk v. Wilkins, denying birthright citizenship to an American Indian because he “owed immediate allegiance to” his tribe and not the United States.

Most legal arguments for universal birthright citizenship ignore these early cases and point to the 1898 decision U.S. v. Wong Kim Ark. However, that decision simply held that U.S.-born children of lawful permanent residents are U.S. citizens.

Further, that decision concerned the constitutionality of acts that created a class of lawful permanent residents who, just like black people under Dred Scott, were perpetually excluded from citizenship based solely on their race—exactly the situation the 14th Amendment was designed to prevent.

Our nation’s current immigration and nationality laws no longer create this type of permanent race-based barrier to citizenship. Today, the federal statute defining citizenship (8 U.S.C. § 1401) simply repeats the language of the 14th Amendment, including the phrase “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.”   That language retains the same meaning today as it had when it was drafted and ratified. It doesn’t evolve to mean something else just because previous administrations erroneously interpreted it more expansively.

As a result, the president has the authority to direct federal agencies to act in accordance with the original meaning of the 14th Amendment, and to issue government documents and benefits only to those individuals who are truly subject to United States jurisdiction.

Far from being an attempt to rewrite the Constitution or “end birthright citizenship,” Trump’s order is a much-needed and long-overdue course correction, reversing a decades-long policy that was never constitutionally mandated in the first place.

Trump’s Wrath: How Illegal Immigration Became a National Emergency

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA)

New fires have broken out in the San Diego area of California, and these blazes feel symbolic of what’s happening to the Democratic Party.

We already witnessed the aftermath of fires in Los Angeles, which exposed the core nature of Leftism: incompetence. And what does incompetence cost? California homeowners are still on the hook for their mortgages, trapped in a cruel twist of irony—many of them uninsured due to, yes, the incompetence of California’s leaders.

Before outrage takes hold, consider this: they still own the land. Typically, the land is the most valuable part of a property, at least monetarily speaking. But no amount of land value can replace the memories those people lost in the flames. Who needs memories, though, when you can bask in the glow of virtue-signaling? And speaking of glowing embers of mismanagement, let’s turn to the issue of illegal immigration.

The landscape of illegal immigration has shifted dramatically, and the message from President Trump is unmistakable: America’s borders are no longer open for exploitation.

This shift carries lessons not only for those attempting to break U.S. immigration laws but also for the Leftists who have spent years undermining border security. Having cheated Trump out of his rightful second term, Democrats now face the consequences: a Trump unrestrained, with a clear mandate and the wind at his back.

Democrats pushed too far, allowing an invasion that has devastated communities across the country. Even stalwart Democrats like New York City Mayor Eric Adams have been forced to confront the consequences. Adams’ admission—that he was told to “be a good Democrat” and allow illegals to overrun New York—reveals the cynicism of the Left’s policies. His pushback nearly cost him his political career in what appeared to be a coordinated coup. Meanwhile, Trump stands ready to act decisively, knowing that the American people, fed up with the chaos, are now firmly behind him.

Trump’s Plan: Swift and Purposeful Action

When it comes to illegal immigration, Trump doesn’t make threats—he makes plans. His administration has already taken decisive steps to tackle the crisis head-on:

  • Military Deployment to the Border: Skeptics once mocked Trump for suggesting the military would be involved in border security. Now, 10,000 troops, including 500 Marines, are being deployed to reinforce the southern border. This is no symbolic gesture; it’s a national emergency, and Trump has declared it as such. As one official put it, “Don’t be surprised if you see Marines being dropped off by helicopters.”
  • Deportation on Demand: The policy is simple: “Deported Same Day.” The Biden administration spent billions facilitating illegal immigration. In stark contrast, Trump is redirecting those resources to expedite deportations. U.S. Transportation Command is preparing military aircraft to assist in migrant deportation flights, underscoring the seriousness of the effort.
  • Investigating Obstruction: The Trump Justice Department is launching investigations into state and local officials obstructing deportations and preparing to challenge sanctuary laws in court. For Trump, lawlessness—whether at the border or in sanctuary cities—is not an option. Any official standing in the way of lawful deportation orders will face scrutiny and accountability.
  • Rebranding Border Policy: Under Trump’s leadership, illegal entry has been rebranded. Those who attempt to cross the border illegally can expect to be sent home immediately. Trump Airlines, as the joke goes, is now offering one-way tickets back to reality.

Exposing Leftist Hypocrisy

One of the most startling revelations in Trump’s crackdown is the Biden administration’s use of taxpayer dollars to fly illegals into the country. This brazen misuse of resources has been exposed and halted. Trump’s Department of Homeland Security has fired its entire advisory committee, citing the need to refocus on protecting American interests.

Lessons for the Left

The humanitarian argument for open borders has worn thin. While some illegals genuinely seek to escape poverty and violence, the same issues plague America’s minority communities, particularly Black neighborhoods. As Trump understands, we don’t need to go to other countries looking for problems to solve when we have enough of our own.

The Left’s policies have disproportionately harmed the very people they claim to champion. Minority communities have borne the brunt of unchecked illegal immigration, facing increased competition for jobs, strained public services, and rising crime. The message is clear: America’s resources must first be directed to solving its own problems.

The Bigger Picture

Trump’s return to power represents more than just a change in immigration policy; it’s a reckoning. The Democrats’ attempt to undermine Trump has backfired spectacularly, leaving them exposed as architects of chaos. Trump’s decisive actions on immigration signal a return to order, accountability, and national sovereignty.

For those willing to break U.S. laws to enter the country, the lesson is simple: America will no longer tolerate lawlessness. For the Left, the lesson cuts deeper. By pushing their radical agenda to the breaking point, they’ve unleashed the Wrath of Trump—a leader determined to restore America’s greatness by any means necessary.
