Texas National Guard will be Deploying on Election Day

Reported by

On October 26, 2020, the Texas National Guard announced that Governor Abbott is deploying 1,000 members to five of the state’s largest cities to potentially quell unrest on Election Day or the days that follow. Texas Democrats are uneasy about this announcement, according to a Fox News report.

According to the San Antonio Express-News, the cities where troops will be sent to are Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

The very fact that troops might be deployed to polling locations has Texas Democrats frightened about the prospect of voter suppression and intimidation. Although the state has been solidly Republican in the last 30 years, Texas is starting to become more competitive. Some experts believe it could flip to the Democrats in 2020 or at the very least, in the near future.

The Texas National Guard commander’s chief of staff informed the San Antonio Express-News that the guard deployment would only be activated to “deter any civil disturbance at sites in various cities within Texas.”

The protection of polling stations “has not been on any mission request or in any conversation with the governor’s office,” Major General James K. “Red” Brown declared. Although troops could be sent to guard buildings , being stationed at polling locations “has not been requested,” Texas Guard spokesman stated.

On the night of October 26, other military officials informed KXAN-TV that there were no plans to send military units to polling locations.

Adjutant General Major General Tracy Norris declared in a statement that the Texas Military Department “was activated to provide additional support to the Department of Public Safety in the summer of 2020.”

“Texas Service Members continue to support DPS in this capacity, guarding historical landmarks such as the Alamo and the State Capitol,” Norris remarked. “To be clear, there has been no request nor any plan to provide any type of support at any polling location in Texas.”

The San Antonio Express-News also confirmed that Norris was requested to set up contingency plans in case of any unrest that emerges. The initial reports about Abbott’s order received more concerns in progressive bastions such as Austin.

“We’re not hearing any real indications to anticipate any disruptions or intimidation,” said Adler.

Austin City Council member Gregorio Casar blamed Abbott for “fear-mongering.”

2020 elections will be very heated and it’s prudent for Abbott to use military assets to protect Texans from potential insurrectionist behavior from the radical Left.

Mexican Government Complains About Texas National Guard… Rick Perry Ignores Them

obama-border-is-open-378x257Texas Gov. Rick Perry decided that President Obama’s inaction regarding the border crisis, which in reality is a strategy being employed to pass amnesty, was no longer acceptable, so he decided to do something about it.

Perry announced that he would be deploying 1,000 members of the National Guard to the border to help provide additional security and prevent more illegals from crossing over into the United States.

Many in Congress and in state governments across the country have been calling for President Obama to take such steps, but still he refuses to budge.

While many Americans are applauding the steps taken by the state of Texas to secure the border, the Mexican government seems to be a bit miffed.

Truth Revolt is reporting that the Mexican Foreign Relations Secretariat released a statement more or less whining that Texas wasn’t acting like a “good neighbor” by deploying the Guardsmen.

“Attention to the immigration phenomenon must be paid from a long-term regional perspective and based on the principles of good neighborliness and shared responsibility. The strategy for responding in an effective and humane manner to this phenomenon includes the necessary shared responsibility among the countries of origin, transit and destination of lost in translationmigration flows.”

In other words, continue to let illegals flood into your country so they become your problem to support and care for instead of ours.

So far it seems that Gov. Perry has elected to ignore the Mexican government and continues to move forward with his plan of action.

Good. If the Mexican government doesn’t like having the National Guard at the border, perhaps they should step up efforts to improve their economy and provide additional border security to keep people from crossing into the U.S.

Unfortunately, it appears that Mexico doesn’t want these individuals in their homeland, so they continue to allow the flow of illegal immigrants to continue without doing much to stop it.

The National Guard is necessary to help provide additional security and support for Border Patrol units who are overburdened by processing. What’s needed is an immigration bill that secures the border for good and sends illegals back home where they belong. One such bill is currently making its rounds in Congress, and hopefully it will find all the support it needs to be passed into law.

Perry Prepares to Deploy National Guard to Small Portion of Border

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Texas/2014/07/21/After-Twelve-Years-Perry-Appears-to-be-Preparing-to-Deploy-Guard-to-Portions-of-the-Border

obama-border-is-open-378x257MCALLEN, Texas—Texas media outlets are reporting Texas Governor Rick Perry is preparing to deploy the Texas National Guard to portions of the Texas/Mexico border.

State Senator Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa (D-McAllen) confirmed the pending announcement of Perry’s decision to deploy 1,000 soldiers from the Texas National Guard to the border. The goal of the guard deployment is to bolster the work of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Troopers, according to Jennifer Saenz, a spokesperson for Sen. Hinojosa.

“The senator understands that Perry wants this troop build-up, but is not sure what kind of federal approval he needs for it. He just knows he wants to deploy 1,000 troops there,” Saenz said in an article posted on the Houston Chronicle.

On July 18, Breitbart Texas reported that a coalition of conservative, tea party, and grassroots activists met in Austin, Texas at the State Capitol to demand that Gov. Perry deploy the Texas National Guard and call the Texas Legislature into special session to handle the surge of illegal immigration in South Texas.

A press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. Central Time in Austin to make the formal announcement.

The McAllen Monitor reported an internal memo from a different state official that states the troops will be deployed to the western areas of the Rio Grande Valley and to ranch lands further north.

Breitbart Texas has reported extensively on the problems ranchers face in Brooks County surrounding the city of Falfurrias — where law enforcement is so strapped, the local sheriff’s office is down to only one deputy per shift to cover the nearly 900 miles of ranch lands.

The leaked memo states: “This is not a militarization of the border. The DPS and the National Guard are working to keep any drug and human trafficking south of [U.S. Highway] 83 and with the goal of keeping any smuggling from entering major highways to transport East/West/and North.”

It is estimated the deployment of the National Guard will be up to $12 million per month. Nearly $10 million of that would fund personnel and vehicles, while an additional $2.4 million will be expended on helicopters.
