Franklin Graham Calls on Pastors to Speak Out on Abortion, Homosexuality; Says ‘God Hates Cowards’

WASHINGTON – The Rev. Franklin Graham told a large gathering of pastors on Thursday to address controversial issues from the pulpit, declaring that “God hates cowards.”

Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, based his remarks on Revelation 21:8, wherein God lists eight groups of people who will be “in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Of groups like murderers, idolaters, unbelievers, and others, the first group of persons listed were the cowardly. It was this first group that Graham focused on for his speech, titled “Standing Strong on the Controversial Issues,” at the Thursday evening session for the 2014 Watchmen on the Wall National Briefing.

“The definition of a coward: a coward will not confront an issue that needs to be confronted due to fear. That is a coward,” said Graham.

“God hates cowards. And the cowards that the Lord is referring to are the men and women who know the truth but refuse to speak it.”

In his remarks at the dinner session, Graham spoke about the need for churches to speak out against abortion and homosexuality, declaring that “you’re not going to shut me up.”

“We have a responsibility to speak on the moral issues. Abortion, homosexuality, these are moral issues. This is a free country, you can do what you want to do but I want you to know it’s a sin against God. This is a sin,” said Graham.

Graham mentioned how he has “friends who are pastors” who say they want to preach the Gospel and not “become targets.”

“Well don’t you think the Lord Jesus Christ was a target?” asked Graham. “Could we get our heads chopped off? We could, maybe one day. So what? Chop it off!”

Graham’s remarks were part of a multiday conference organized by the Family Research Council. Held from Wednesday to Friday, the Watchmen on the Wall National Briefing was geared toward pastors and encouraging churches to become more involved in politics, social issues, and public policy.

Featured speakers included Pastor Rafael Cruz, the father of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz; Bishop Harry Jackson, author and senior pastor of Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, Maryland; Joyce Meyer of Joyce Meyer Ministries; U.S. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina, and several others.

For the Thursday evening dinner portion, attendees experienced worship led by contemporary Christian singer Charles Billingsley and were present to see awards given to assorted pastors for their actions on religious liberty.

The last honoree for the evening was Graham. FRC President Tony Perkins commended Graham for his actions in the public sphere.

“Franklin is not the pastor of a church, but in a real sense he is a pastor to America’s pastors,” said Perkins before presenting Graham with the 2014 Watchman Award.

“And in that role, he has sounded the alarm and raised the righteous standard as have few other leaders in our time.”

The son of the famous evangelist Billy Graham, Franklin Graham has garnered controversy in recent years for his remarks on same-sex marriage, Islam, and President Barack Obama.

Some have contrasted his public career with that of his father, arguing that Franklin Graham has taken more overtly political positions than Billy Graham has.

“Is your faith so strong that you will not hesitate to refuse to bow to the threats of the Anti-Christ, or his spirit? Will you chose death? Where do you stand in your personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ? Are you ready for the following? It’s coming, unless God sends a sweeping revival in America, and those of us who are willing to fight for what is right and vote these tyrannical Leftist out of office, out of society and out of the church”! The Tiny Three Percent that Remains Vigilant in the Face of Tyranny

During the Revolutionary War against the British, it is said that only three percent of the population were involved in trying to win the nation’s freedom.  That number reflects the percentage of patriots that actually volunteered to fight. There were many others, of course, that supported the cause, and contributed in other ways, but sadly, there was a huge percentage of Colonial Americans that sat on the sidelines with no opinion on the matter. There were even those who wished to remain loyal to the British Crown. While that may be difficult for some to fathom, it is true, and in some ways we find ourselves in an eerily similar situation today.

The vast majority of Americans have absolutely no idea what is going on in this country, nor do they even care. Among these people, are those who believe in centralized authority and support causes that undermine the very freedom our forefathers fought to secure for them; a system of government, I might add, that protects their rights to do so. These people are feverishly working to replace our constitutional republic with a so called “social democracy,” which, in all honesty, is just a nicer way to say “socialism.” 

Just as it was in the late 1700’s when a brave few had the courage to declare people should be free, only a few are aware of the perils we face today. As we attempt to bring attention to the massive usurpations of power committed by our government, they attempt to demonize and ridicule us by calling us terrorists and extremists in an effort to win a public relations war.

Unfortunately, the masses are so inundated with entertainment propaganda, and have been so conditioned to just go along instead of questioning authority, that they are falling for it. Their attitudes towards the nation and the freedom our troops have fought for is contemptible, and as we face the ever encroaching grip of authoritarianism, I can’t help but feel that’s what this nation deserves because it has forsaken all that our relatives have fought and died for. No American service member ever volunteered for war, believing they were fighting for socialism folks. There are some very disturbing events occurring in our nation and in this article I am going discuss the latest developments.

Those paying attention, the tiny three percent, realize that we are rapidly becoming a militarized police state. This is one promise that President Barack Hussein Obama (the name sends a chill down my spine) has kept. He has created a civilian security force that is just as well funded, and just as powerful as the United States military by arming every single government agency. The latest to join the ranks is The United States Department of Agriculture.  They recently request of “submachine guns” with 30 round magazines and ballistic body armor.  How the majority of Americans are not alarmed by this is disturbing in and of itself, but that’s beside the point. They did not request this armament for target practice folks. You would think that liberals, and their phony quest for human rights, equality and freedom would be up in arms over this. The silence, however, is deafening. While many people may scoff in disbelief by this alarming news, or ask why the USDA would need such weapons, the reason is obvious to those paying attention, the tiny three percent.

In Morgan County Indiana, a Sheriff Deputy inadvertently let the cat out of the bag by describing the reasons the Sheriff’s Department needs to have militarized, mine resistant vehicles.  During an interview, Sgt. Dan Downing said the department needs these vehicles because of the combat vets returning home that could use IED’s to defeat police. (Uhh, he said what?) What does that mean? 

“Did you get that lunacy? “….combat vets returning home that could use IED’s to defeat police.” Where do this get this garbage? JB

Did Sgt. Dan Downing just admit that there will be a move made against war veterans? That would be consistent with the attitude the current administration has displayed towards the nation’s defenders. Since Barack Obama has been in office, veterans have been considered a potential threat to national security.  America, pull your head out of the sand a moment and realize that only a government that seeks to undermine the very system that sustains you would consider those that have defended it a “threat to national security.”



Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment, a report released in 2009 by the Obama Department of Homeland Security, calls veterans potential terrorists for several reasons, one of which is returning home to little or no economic opportunity. Why is this not something America is concerned about? It’s probably because American Idol is on tonight. As is the case with everything else, only the tiny three percent seem to give a dam.

In Mexico, one of our Marines is being held prisoner because he got lost and accidentally crossed the border. He had legally owned firearms in the trunk of his car. Mexican authorities arrested him and threw him in a jail cell, and our state department has done nothing.

This is a government that bends over backwards to accommodate illegal immigrants, many of whom have committed horrific crimes in our country. They talk down to us and act as if we should be ashamed for suggesting they follow the rule of law and secure the border. Yet, one of our combat vets is being held in a Mexican prison and they do nothing. What makes it worse is the fact that I called Congressman Jim Bridenstein’s (R-OK) office and the girl who answered the phone was completely clueless that this was even happening. On top of that, she had the nerve to talk to me as if I was rude for suggesting that perhaps she should know. What are we paying these people for? Why would anyone care about one Marine vet being held prisoner in Mexico? After all, there are more important issues like amnesty to deal with, right America? Don’t worry, the tiny three percent will speak for him.

Finally, if this isn’t enough to get you to understand just what we face, then you deserve what you get. At the latestWhite Privilege conference,” speaker Amer Ahmed says that resisting jihad is racistAmerica, Muslims are murdering Christians overseas, (read another instance of this here,) demanding the implementation of Sharia Law in America, and demanding that we abandon our culture while they come here and attempt to make us seem racist for opposing their radicalism.

America, if you are so blind that you cannot see where this is going, then you deserve it, period. If you are so bogged down by political correctness that you believe the people concerned about this are “Islamophobicof “racist” then you are a fool; you are the byproduct of a system that set out to numb your minds so you wouldn’t be paying attention. 

Many of you are probably not even aware of any of this. Others will call me a radical or an extremist for discussing it. Yet, the only people, at this point, whose opinion I even care about anymore are those that have been brave enough to take a stand; those who have stood to speak the truth about what is going on. We are not radicals or terrorists. In fact, we want what you want. We want our children to be able to grow up in a prosperous America without the burden of a $17 trillion debt on their shoulders. We want to live in a world where there is peace, and people respect the opinions and rights of others.

Sadly, the system, left to us by our founders, cannot exist if the masses are not paying attention to what is happening in the nation. Freedom requires vigilance and commitment to holding those we send to represent us accountable for what they do.  We have actually reached a point where the selfish desires of the population have caused them to forsake the freedoms we once enjoyed for false promises of security, and sadly, just as Benjamin Franklin said, we are now left with neither. Don’t worry, there are people who are committed to exposing fraud and corruption, and standing for liberty in the face of tyranny, the tiny three percent.

Feb. 27 marked the five-year anniversary of the birth of the tea party. March 1 marked the two-year anniversary of the death of a patriot in that movement, Andrew Breitbart. And this week marks the annual convention of conservatives in Washington, D.C., Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC. This is an appropriate time to assess the pulse of conservatives.

Conservatives often use the hashtag, #War when tweeting about the tyrannical imperialism they believe has overtaken the culture, but is there really a concerted war, or more of a frenzied disagreement?

War is mental

As I watch what is happening, the term that often comes to mind is “playground politics,” which Dr. Paterno and I covered extensively in our book, “Ladies and Gentlemen.” The child-like behavior has become so pervasive in politics, that it has left otherwise perfectly patriotic people perfectly cynical.

Teddy Roosevelt knew war. He addressed it in his speech, “Citizenship in a Republic,” delivered at the Sorbonne in Paris, France, on April 23, 1910. It seems he knew that most every day enjoyed in the freedom of a republic was likely to be part life, part war.

“The Man in the Arena”:

“It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.”

War is hell, and though Americans seem to know that on some level, they tend to forget that the battle for the republic will be ugly, painful, unpredictable, tiring, insulting, frustrating, demeaning and that we could lose.

War is expensive

Today, it doesn’t seem many are really willing to fight for the republic. Those who are, are often mocked, scorned and robbed. Most patriots I know give so much of their precious time and resources to the fight, because they recognize that there are more important things than money, and worse things than war.

John Stuart Mill pointed out that while war is an ugly thing, it is not the ugliest of things: “The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

One of the things worse than war is tyranny. And to most who see this as war, that is the target in the crosshairs. To those who know why they fight, tyranny is the threat. This is not about party politics, imposing morality or petty differences to them. To the patriot in the arena, this is a fight for all things sacred, most especially, liberty.

War is personal

First, the tea party was attacked for being violent, though no violence was proven. It was attacked for being radical, but what is radical about demanding that government balances its budget and is limited to its constitutional roles? Tea-party activists scratch their heads, wondering what is so violent and radical about believing one generation has no right to lay the bills for its profligate spending on the next?

Just like the D.C. politicians who may start out as civil servants, tea-party leaders often face similar temptations. As this “war” progressed, some fallible individuals were exposed for having too much focus on personal agendas and were willing to attack those with more patriotic agendas.

Our founders were above that. They made statements about divisiveness and petty jealousies, and they had answers for those who misunderstood or abused the mission.

Franklin and others understood that warriors, however passionate, are filled with human frailties. That doesn’t negate the priority of the mission, though.

Some will criticize those who give to the movement for various reasons. I, for one, am encouraged as I have watched patriots rise up to pour out their time and talents, one by one, month after month, year after year.

The bloggers have been the underrated, over-mocked voice of the uprising from the very beginning. Alongside bloggers and other mouthpieces, patriots such as John Hawkins correlate news of other conservatives’ work, and Steven Laboe used his talent of video editing to push out the appearances of other conservatives online. There are patriots who built organizations, and those who push out patriots’ work every day, all day, as a personal mission.

When their work is dignified, even for the other side, those who selflessly give for their vision of the future should be encouraged, I believe.

The passion of such conservatives should inspire those who do see this as war, and who do see this as a battle for the republic. Thousands of patriots give selflessly and tirelessly of their skill.  That is the stuff of warriors.

As the war progresses, if this is a real war, the soldiers had best recognize the enemy. Those who do not will be exposed.

Just because we have, at times, fought stupidly, doesn’t mean there isn’t time to rise up, recognize the elements of war, and win. But we have to know what we are fighting for.

I asked patriots around the country to answer the question of where we are, if this is #war.

Sly Ocana, a patriot from California, said that first, “It is important to recognize this as a war. We are being assaulted by forces that seek to destroy America and our freedoms. Many do not even see this as a war. It is imperative that we start getting this narrative out there. If you recognize what it is, you can begin to effectively combat it.”

Tom C. Lehner said he believes that patriots are in defense mode, and if they don’t adopt a posture of offense instead, “We are in deep trouble.” He said that right now the battle reminds him of Vietnam, “1,000 battlefields and no plan whatsoever.”

But Chris Babb and Ann-Marie Murrell said it is too early to gauge. Both agreed that this is a long battle, and we are only at the beginning of such a large fight. Babb said, “We are only at the beginning of what will be an equally long road, as the road that brought us to this point. This battle shall be won over time.”

Wayne Scott said in the five years since patriots woke up, some definitions have become very clear: “We now understand the battle lies not between parties, but between two different ideals: Self-governance or nanny state.”

Karin Rosarne feels optimistic: “I can see a huge shift in the grassroots education reform movement. #StopCommonCore groups are getting sick of dealing with politicians. I think they are about to take matters to a whole lot different level,” and she adds for emphasis, “check the ‘opt out movement.’”

War is disillusioning

Orwell assessed the tactics of the propagandists of his time, “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.”

Tea-party activists fought diligently to avoid the pitfalls common to movements, and one tactic was to avoid conveying their power to a central figurehead. This created confusion as to who spoke for the movement or how to define it, but it also limited the hostile media from being able to make it personal. Today, some who consider themselves “taxed enough already” are beginning to see a Reagan rising from the ashes, perhaps.

“We need another Reagan or Thatcher,” Chris Skates asserted, as he prepares to attend his first-ever CPAC this year. He believes that among others, Ted Cruz holds great promise for a real political pivot.

Many in the patriot movement echo his sentiments about Cruz, but they also believe that the establishment GOP will do all in its power to remove Cruz, because it can’t control him.

War is defining

Kim Paris is one of those who saw the disconnect and started a foundation to help give funding and direction to patriot “boots on the ground.” Her Foundation For Common Sense, she says, “is composed of patriots with different objectives, who will be recognized for their projects that proceed without fanfare, day in and day out … who fund the expenses primarily out of their own pockets, or at otherwise great personal sacrifice.”

Paris made another point about those patriots in question. She said they won’t be at CPAC, because most can’t afford it. “Instead,” she said, “they choose to spend what money they have to continue their work on the homefront.”

War is necessary

Einstein said, “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

Many in the patriot movement have whispered the question that everyone wonders. When do patriots take to the streets, as they have so many times in history and recently in the Ukraine? When do they have no choice but to become the radicals they have been accused of being for so long? That they have suffered so heavily and maintained civility is a testament to the true character of the average tea partier. Still the questions linger about when that might change.

Is it when they come for our guns? Or have they already?

Is it when they kill our children? Or have they already?

Is it when they deny us health care? Or have they already?

When is that moment?

War is the beginning of the end

I always have my students answer this question, “What do you want your epitaph to say?”

I believe there is power of vision when the end is established, first.

As patriots gather to mourn the anniversary of the loss of one of their own; as they celebrate the birth of their movement, however flawed and capable; as they gather in D.C. to strategize for the road ahead, perhaps they are best to pause and reflect on the final goal.

What is sacred enough to die for?

That is the pulse that patriots ought to take, in this most pivotal moment.

Veterans Descend on Washington – Carry BARRY-cades from Memorials to White House


 Veterans descended upon Washington DC this morning to visit the open air WWII memorial and the Iwo Jima memorial. Thousands of individuals were on hand to support these veterans to visit the memorial in spite of Park Rangers attempting to thwart visitors the day prior. Ordinary citizens picked up barricades around the WWII memorial and piled them in stacks on the grassy areas of the park.


In order to insure the veterans were able to attend the rally, bobtail truckers and 4 wheel vehicles participating in the Trucker Ride for the Constitution drove through Washington DC to the WWII memorial in support. Trucks appeared blowing their horns among the crowds of individuals cheering in support. Yesterday, Truckers Ride for the Constitution changed their hashtag to #T4VETS to run today in support of the veterans march to Washington DC today.

20131013_snipers_0Another part of the convoy, led by General Earnest Lee, drove around the beltway with approximately 10 miles deep of supporters then headed into DC along I-395. Lee’s convoy drove right into downtown DC going about 10 mph and literally shutdown the access into DC. While Lee broke off to go to another choke point, other truckers stayed behind slowing to halt traffic in order to make sure veterans and supporters captured the heart of the DC in peaceful deviance of the Obama administration’s cruel attempt to deny access to the open air war memorials. The General reported several police cars had lined up in a barricade of the street but did allow single file traffic of the truckers to proceed through. As General Lee and other truckers complied with law enforcement, several officers saluted these road warriors in support of their efforts to return America to its Constitutional roots.

Will Gonzalez, along with hundreds of individuals from the WWII memorial, marched along the streets to the White House assisted by law enforcement. According to Will’s live report on Guerilla Media Network, the truckers’ horns could be heard as the truckers passed the White House. The group reached the gates of the front door of the White House and protests directed at the occupants of the White House could be heard on the live broadcast. Will Gonzalez yelled, at the behest of Pete Santilli, “Get the F*** Out Obama” then led the crowd in cheering over and over, “U-S-A, U-S-A.”

wwII-protest-676x415The lamestream enemedia reported on outbreaks of salmonella, Iranian nukes with Michael Bolton and Food Network items while the historic descent of patriotic Americans descended upon Washington and the White House. However, 21st Century Wire has reported up to date information of the event as they have happened throughout the weekend. Here at Freedom Outpost, I have tried to keep up with events and report those to keep you informed and bring you the links to follow this event via live broadcast and links to the Facebook pages for social interaction.

More people continued to descend on the White House gates in protest of the Obama administration. According to the boots on the ground reporter, Will Gonzalez, several individuals tried to start a problem at the WWII memorial, but American patriots stood in front of these individuals shutting down their dissidence. A caller from Georgia was making his way to the group protesting at the White House, but was unable to find his way. GMN assisted this individual to find his way through downtown so he could lend his voice to the momentous occasion. Police officials have also been calm and basically neutral without any riot gear whatsoever but were stationed around the White House.

Patriotic Americans also reclaimed the Lincoln Memorial as one woman urged all Americans, “to do something now.”



158bd_ddb8In an interesting development, former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, Senator Ted Cruz and Senator Mike Lee helped protestors at the Lincoln Memorial remove barricades to allow visitors access to the national monument. Protestors then carried barricades from the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII memorial to the White House and placed those barricades in front of the gates. Police appeared in riot gear with face masks to confront the crowd to obstruct their view. Only 5 officers were in riot gear but did stand in front of the barricades blocking the crowd. Patriotic individuals coerced police officials back into the streets. According to Will Gonzalez, the group is within 10 feet of the gates to the White House.

Police officers then used the barricades to push people back from the White House gates becoming a bit more aggressive. Will reported the “blue helmets” were using the most force to repel the group and 10 police on horseback appeared, but were not being forceful.

Jamie Brinkman, independent journalist, whose husband was at the White House reported there was no standoff with protestors and police. She provided an update with photos at her twitter account This was in response to a social media blast that reported there were conflicts with protestors and police. Brinkman reported there were always agitators in place to promote false information to incite riots during otherwise peaceful protest events.

The trucker road warriors have broken for a brief rest and food. These courageous individuals will be back out on the road for round 2 today in what General Lee has said will be a surprise for everyone.

Patriots Clean Up the Capital


fixupdcThis has been a big weekend for democracy and demonstration in Washington, D.C. On Friday many truckers met to drive through D.C. in an attempt to disrupt traffic while letting Congress know that truckers across the country were displeased with the gridlock they saw in the legislature. Then on Sunday, a group calling themselves the Million Vets March on the Monuments, met at the WWII Memorial to express their displeasure that the Obama administration would use our national parks as a political tool to bludgeon the Republican Party with.

Perhaps the most important demonstration of the weekend though, happened on Saturday. On Saturday, hundreds of average American citizens showed up in D.C. for a clean-up day that organizers are calling the “Fix Up D.C.” National Day of Service. Inspired at least in part by the work of “the One Man Memorial Militia,” Chris Cox, who earlier this week was told by the National Parks Service (NPS) that he had to stop his cleaning and maintaining of the areas around the Lincoln and WWII Memorials.

“We came up with this idea when we saw the man from South Carolina come out and mow the lawn. We thought all of us could do the same thing,” said Ellen Wheeler, director of messaging for FreedomWorks. “Congress may try to shutdown the government but they can’t shutdown the people.”

The hundreds who gathered came at the behest of the FreedomWorks Foundation, the Tea Party Patriots, and media entrepreneur Glenn Beck of the Blaze. The idea was to empower ordinary Americans “to make a difference and do what government is not doing,” Deneen Borelli, who is a Liberty Alliance partner, explained.

Several prominent Tea Party leaders spoke to the volunteers, who were also addressed by Glenn Beck and Senator Mike Lee (R-UT). The volunteers worked to clean up the area surrounding the National Mall which has not been maintained over the last two weeks (12 days) because of the government shutdown. Families picked up trash, raked leaves and worked to make the area more presentable. The hundreds of gathered volunteers may have had different reasons for being there, but the overall goal was to take care of our memorials… not the government’s memorials… OURS.

Former Marine, Ian Grinnals, made the six hour drive from Syracuse, New York to be at the cleanup day said it best, “I want to make sure these memorials stay clean for future veterans, especially veterans on these honor flights that are coming here usually on their last leg. They should have a place to come and be remembered.” Yes, sir.
