WASHINGTON — George Washington University students held a “Vigil for the Martyrs of Palestine” on Tuesday evening where they mourned the Hamas terrorists killed attacking Israel. The Students for Justice in Palestine chapter gathered in Kogan Plaza as dusk fell on Washington, D.C., “for a vigil in honor of our martyrs.” Organizers encouraged the students to bring posters, flowers, flags, and a mask or keffiyeh (Palestinian headdress) to hide their faces.

Video footage captured by The Daily Signal team shows the leader of the group chanting various pro-Palestine and anti-Israel slogans into a megaphone, including “Zionism has got to go,” “Intifada! Intifada!” (Arabic for uprising or rebellion), and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will soon be free.”

As of February 2023, student Lance Lokas was the president of George Washington University’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter. Lokas was named in a federal civil rights complaint filed with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights accusing the university of perpetuating anti-Palestinian racism.

His allegations against the university were related to a pro-Palestine protest that the university said “appeared targeted to members of our community based on their Jewish faith or their affiliation with Hillel” with signs and slogans such as “DECOLONIZE PALESTINE” and “SETTLERS F— OFF. STOP THE ANNEXATION OF PALESTINE.”

“We were trying to disrupt the event to make clear that we don’t support war criminals and Israeli military leadership on our campus,” Lokas told Jewish Currents earlier this year.

WATCH:

Students attending Tuesday evening’s events largely covered their faces with medical face masks, apparently to obscure their identities. One young woman who attended the vigil with her hair and face covered told The Daily Signal that the masking would make it more difficult for authorities to track any attendees down.

George Washington University has not responded to requests for comment from The Daily Signal regarding the protest or a controversial statement put out by Students for Justice in Palestine.

“This past weekend, we witnessed them break free, tearing down the prison walls and making it known to the world: WE WILL BE CAGED NO LONGER,” said a statement from the student group aligning itself with Hamas. That statement praises the invasion as “history in the making” and “the beginning of a new era in our struggle.”

“GW Students for Justice in Palestine maintains unwavering support for our people’s resistance, in all its forms,” the statement said. “Every single act of resistance moves us closer to the liberation of our homeland. We will never capitulate to the colonizer or his sympathizers, and we stand firm and steadfast in support of our people’s right to resist. We call upon all our people and those in solidarity with us to join us in this struggle.”

Additionally, a toolkit released by the national Students for Justice in Palestine organization calls for the student movement to organize a national day of resistance on college campuses across the U.S. and Canada. The organization did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

“We as Palestinian students in exile are PART of this movement, not in solidarity with this movement,” the toolkit messaging says in bold. “This is a moment of mobilization for all Palestinians. We must act as part of this movement. All of our efforts continue the work and resistance of Palestinians on the ground.”

At least six chapters of the student group have already announced such events for Oct. 12, according to the Anti-Defamation League: Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Butler University in Indiana, University of Louisville in Kentucky, University of Binghamton in New York, and the University of Virginia.

“We must continue to resist directly, through dismantling Zionism and wielding the political power that our organizations hold on our campuses and in our communities,” the toolkit says. “We are asking chapters to host demonstrations on campus/in their community in support of our resistance in Palestine and the national liberation struggle—one which they play a critical role in actualizing.”

If a protest is not possible, the national Students for Justice in Palestine encourages other forms of engagement, such as a sit-in, “disruption,” or “educational event.”

The Anti-Defamation League expressed concerns about such tactics: “Although these are all nonviolent tactics, they raise the real possibility of creating a hostile environment for Jewish students, and the confrontational spirit that permeates the toolkit raises the concern that these actions could lead to acts of harassment or vandalism targeting Jewish students and organizations.”

George Washington University Hires Convicted Al Qaeda Terrorist as Security Expert!

2Jesse-Morton-Younus-Abdullah-Muhammad-633x450Jesse Morton used to go by the name Younus Abdullah Muhammad back when he served as an important recruiter for Al Qaeda. Now that he’s “reformed” though, he’s just “Jesse.” Which seems to be why George Washington University feels he’d be a good hire for their Center for Cyber & Homeland Security. The Deputy Director of the Program on Extremism says that he’s happy to have Morton on board: “I trust him. We did our due diligence.”extra bowl of stupid

It’s true, to a point, they did speak with folks at the FBI as well as others in the security community, but it was just four short years ago that Morton was sentenced to 11 ½ years in prison for his role in soliciting people to commit murder for Islam.

In fact, just four years ago, federal prosecutors called Morton an “inspiration for terrorists across the world.” Moreover they argued, “Morton not only endangered the lives of innocent people but he also contributed to the destruction of the very freedoms on which our society is based.” Prosecutors were terrified about what Morton could accomplish if Morton was not locked away for a long, long time. “We may never know all of those who were inspired to engage in terrorism because of Revolution Muslim, but the string of recent terrorism cases with ties to Morton’s organization demonstrates the threat it posed to our national security.”Islam is NOT

A federal judge agreed with prosecutors, which led him to hand down a harsh 12 year penalty… so how in the world is he free and gainfully employed less than 4 years later?

The exact details of Morton’s release remain murky. A person familiar with the case, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss court matters that largely remain secret, said prosecutors sought to reduce his sentence because they believed he had been reformed and he had cooperated fully with investigators.

MacBride, who stepped down as U.S. attorney in late 2013 for a job in the private sector, said in a statement that he wasn’t aware that the government had pushed for Morton’s early release.

“I presume that they only did it because he offered substantial assistance to the FBI in other investigations,” MacBride said. He said that although reductions in such cases were uncommon, they had happened in federal court in the Eastern District of Virginia in 2006 for three defendants who attended terrorist training camps, then helped in other cases.

Is this common? Do hardened terrorist recruiters “reform” and completely change their ways in less than four years? Even if he has reformed do we give the same benefit of the doubt to other felons who sit awaiting parole hearings? The man was out of prison, free, and on the job hunt less than four years after being sentenced to prison by a judge. This whole deal stinks, and screams of justice being miscarried. What did you say 06.jpg

SCARY: Find Out If ISIS Is In Your State

waving flagBy Bethany Blankley April 13, 2016

culture of deceit and liesISIS-related mobilization in America is unprecedented.

According to a recent in-depth report from George Washington University, ISIS In America, From Retweets to Raqqa, ISIS suspects and recruits are in at least 26 states in America.

As of Fall, 2015, there were roughly 250 Americans who were documented to have traveled or attempted to travel to Syria/Iraq to join the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

There are currently 900 active investigations against ISIS sympathizers in all 50 states. Since March, 2014:

  • 71 people have been charged for ISIS-related activities
  • 56 were arrested in 2015 alone– a record number of terrorism-related arrests for any year since 9/11.
  • The majority charged are male (86 percent) and 26 years old.

They were caught in 21 states, in which

  • ‚  51 percent traveled or attempted to travel abroad,
  • ‚  27 percent were involved in plots to carry out attacks on U.S. soil,
  • ‚  55 percent were arrested in an operation involving an informant and/or an undercover agent.isis01

As part of the University’s Program on Extremism, the researchers reviewed more than 7,000 pages of legal documents detailing ISIS-related legal proceedings. These included “criminal complaints, indictments, affidavits, and courtroom transcripts. Supplemented by original research and interviews with prosecutors, reporters, and, in some select cases, families of the charged individuals, the Program developed a snapshot of the 84 individuals who have been charged for various ISIS-related activities.”

GW’s report is two-fold:

The report, ISIS in America: From Retweets to Raqqa consists of two parts. The first examines all cases of U.S. persons arrested, indicted, or convicted in the United States for ISIS-related activities. A wide array of legal documents related to these cases provides empirical evidence for identifying several demographic factors related to the arrested individuals. This section also looks at the cases of other Americans who, while not in the legal system, are known to have engaged in ISIS-inspired behavior.

The second part of the report examines various aspects of the ISIS-related mobilization in America. Here the report analyzes the individual motivations of ISIS supporters; the role of the Internet and, in particular, social media, in their radicalization and recruitment processes; whether their radicalization took place in isolation or with other, like-minded individuals; and the degree of their tangible links to ISIS.  It concludes with recommendations to combat ISIS recruitment.Islamitization of America

The researchers uncovered that American ISIS supporters are not homogenous. They represent a range of ethnicity, socio-economic and educational backgrounds.

The GW report is one of the largest online collections of legal records of ISIS radicalization and recruitment in the United States.

The Program on Extremism identified roughly 300 American and/or U.S.-based ISIS sympathizers who are active on social media, spread propaganda, and interact with like-minded peers. As the report indicates the “online echo chamber eventually make the leap from keyboard warriors to actual militancy.”

ISIS sympathizers in America primarily use Twitter. The program identified user accounts that generate primary content, retweet material, or promote newly created accounts of suspended users. The range of U.S.-based sympathizers who are involved with or promoting ISIS varies from those who are inspired by ISIS’s message to those become leaders of social media groups.

The GW report, one of the largest online collections of legal records of ISIS radicalization and recruitment in the United States, is well worth the read.

It reveals the extent to which Obama and others have allowed a steady infiltration of Islamists into the country, a clear and present danger, and national emergency, that is largely unreported and ignored.

Obama: Christians threaten nation

waving flagFriday, October 16, 2015, Posted by Bryan Fischer – Guest Columnist

“Disagreement is not hatred, and the truth is not hate speech. Somebody needs to tell that to President Obama.”Free Speech Definition

If you have ever wondered whether President Obama has an abiding hostility to people of Christian faith, wonder no more. He believes we are a threat to national security. If you are a sincerely devoted follower of Jesus Christ, your president believes you are a potential domestic terrorist.

I do not exaggerate. In a gathering at George Washington University this week, Obama’s assistant attorney general for national security, John Carlin, revealed that the Department of Justice is creating a brand new position just to monitor us. The position, domestic terrorism counsel, will be created to combat the “real and present threat” of domestic terrorism.

And where, pray tell, does this threat come from? From the Muslim Brotherhood, which has a stated goal of exterminating Western civilization and sabotaging our miserable house from within? Nope. From ISIS, which is actively recruiting jihadists in all 50 states? Nope. Jihadists who are sneaking into the United States disguised as Syrian refugees? Nope.

No, the real threat to our national security, according to our president and his minions, is coming from the Family Research Council and the American Family Association.of domenstic terrorist

want_rel_liberty_rCarlin lauded the work of the thoroughly discredited Southern Poverty Law Center, which is so blatantly and maliciously biased against Christians that other parts of Obama’s administration – the FBI, the Pentagon, and the U.S. Army – are getting as far away from the SPLC as they can.

But the folks at SPLC are still useful to the DOJ, which is desperate to paint conservative Christians as a greater threat to our domestic tranquility than people who are determined to decapitate us in the name of Allah.

According to Carlin, the SPLC does the noble work of “examining what the threat is, observing it, and reporting on it,” and claimed that its work is “very important.”RadicalChristianExtremist

The SPLC, mind you, is the group whose “hate group” map was used by domestic terrorist Floyd Corkins to identify the Family Research Council as his target for a massacre. Only the bravery of an unarmed security guard prevented what could have been one of the worst mass shootings in U.S. history. In other words, if anybody’s the hate group here, it’s the SPLC.

Heidi Beirich, the SPLC’s intelligence project director, teamed with Carlin to demonize pro-family groups. She told a reporter that the SPLC classifies groups as hate groups “on the basis of ideology.” In other words, the SPLC will vilify groups because of what they believe, not because of what they do or because they have demonstrated any propensity toward violence.

Aobama-anti-christian-1nd she flatly admits it. “We post groups on the basis of ideology, not whether they’re violent or not.”

And then she identified two groups by name: Family Research Council and American Family Association. “[W]hat they’re putting out is anti-gay material so gay people are pedophiles, or molesters, or whatever the case may be, and that’s why they’re on the list and that’s the direct analogy.”

Different Free Speech Ideologies

We – FRC and AFA – “are simply pushing propaganda that [the SPLC] consider(s) hateful.” She acknowledges that theirs is a purely subjective standard: “It’s our opinion that it’s hateful, and that’s basically it.”Combined

The plain truth is that we at FRC and AFA don’t hate a living soul. We love homosexuals enough to tell them the truth about the physical and spiritual dangers of the homosexual lifestyle. We want something better for them than the darkness and disease associated with homosexual behavior. We want them to come out of that CP 02darkness into the light of the gospel of Christ. We are for the homosexual, and so we must be against the normalization and promotion of homosexuality.

Note the SPLC is no longer accusing FRC and AFA of hate or of violence based on some objective standard. They have simply made a purely subjective assessment that our beliefs about human sexuality and our defense of natural marriage are so offensive to them that we must become the target of the unlimited resources of the federal government.

Do we disagree with the homosexual lobby about homosexuality? Of course. Do we hate them? Absolutely not. Do we advocate violence against them? Never have, never will. We are simply determined to tell the moral, spiritual, and physical truth about non-normative sexual The Persecution has Begunbehavior.

Bottom line: disagreement is not hatred, and the truth is not hate speech. Somebody needs to tell that to the president.Truth The New Hate Speech
