Department of Homeland Security Reveals Official Cause of Death for 7-Year Old Guatemalan Girl

Reported By Jack Davis | December 18, 2018 at 9:29am

A 7-year-old Guatemalan girl who tried to enter the U.S. with her father earlier this month died from sepsis shock, according to the Department of Homeland Security. DHS released a statement about her death on its Facebook page.

“After completing a days-long, dangerous journey through remote and barren terrain, the child, who according to the father had not been able to consume water or food for days, began vomiting, went into sepsis shock and after receiving emergency treatment from U.S. Border Patrol Emergency Response Technicians (EMTs), air paramedics and emergency room personnel, died,” the department said Friday.

The statement said that during an “initial screening” after Jakelin Caal Maquin and her father, Nery Gilberto Caal Cuz, were detained on Dec. 6, “the father denied that either he or his daughter were ill. This denial was recorded on Form I-779 signed by the father. At this time, they were offered water and food and had access to restrooms.”

The statement said that the next morning, as a group of detainees was being transported on a bus, “the father advised Border Patrol agents that his child had become sick and was vomiting. Out of an abundance of caution, agents immediately requested that an EMT meet the bus on arrival at the Lordsburg station.”

By the time she arrived at 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 7, “the father notified agents that the child was not breathing. Border Patrol EMTs began medical care and requested an ambulance. At this point her temperature was 105.9 degrees. Agents providing medical care revived the child twice.”

A helicopter flew the girl to Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas, but she died there the next morning, the statement said.

“The initial indication from the Providence Hospital is that she passed due to sepsis shock,” the statement said.

The statement closed with a warning to families.

“As we have repeatedly said, traveling north illegally into the United States is extremely dangerous. Drug cartels, human smugglers and the elements pose deadly risks to anyone who attempts to cross the border illegally. Once again, we are begging parents to not put themselves or their children at risk by attempting to enter illegally. Please, we are begging you, present yourselves and your children at a port of entry and seek to enter legally and safely,” it said.

The DHS investigation is not sufficient for lawyers who represent the girl’s family. They have called for an outside probe that “will assess this incident within nationally recognized standards for the arrest and custody of children. The family intends to assist in such an investigation into the cause and circumstances of Jakelin’s death,” according to CNN.

Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are also planning to visit the site where she was taken ill, according to WILX-TV.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines sepsis as “the body’s extreme response to an infection. It is a life-threatening medical emergency.”

“Sepsis happens when an infection you already have — in your skin, lungs, urinary tract, or somewhere else — triggers a chain reaction throughout your body. Without timely treatment, sepsis can rapidly lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death,” according to the CDC.

Mexico Confirms: Migrant Group That Stormed US Border Will Be Deported

Reported By Jack Davis | November 26, 2018 at 7:40am

A wave of migrants massed at the U.S.-Mexico border tried to storm their way into the United States on Sunday. Not only did they fail, but some of those who tried to force their way into the country will be deported from Mexico, officials said Sunday. Mexican officials said that at least 39 of the 500 people who tried to rush the border will be deported, CNN reported.

Sunday’s incident underscored the rising tensions along the border in Tijuana, where several thousand migrants have come after coming in mass groups from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Estimates of migrants in the city range from 5,000 to 7,000, with more migrant caravans on the way.

On Sunday, a large number of migrants dashed for the border in an attempt to force their way past Border Patrol agents. One group “attempted to breach legacy fence infrastructure along the border and sought to harm CBP personnel by throwing projectiles at them,” Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen said in a statement, CNN reported.

“DHS will not tolerate this type of lawlessness and will not hesitate to shut down ports of entry for security and public safety reasons. We will also seek to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law anyone who destroys federal property, endangers our front-line operators, or violates our nation’s sovereignty,” Nielsen said.

Honduran Ana Zúñiga, 23, said she saw migrants open a small hole in concertina wire that had been strung to impede migrants’ progress when they try to cross the borderThe Guardian reported. She said once the hole was created, tear gas was used on the migrants.

“We ran but when you run the gas asphyxiates you more,” she said, holding her infant daughter.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said projectiles thrown by the migrants struck several agents.

“Border Patrol agents deployed tear gas to dispel the group because of the risk to agents’ safety,” the agency tweeted.

Deploying the gas led the crowd to disperse.

Vowing to outlast the migrants, Nielsen said the U.S. will continue its “robust” presence along the border, Fox News reported.

Mexico’s Interior Ministry called Sunday’s action “acts of provocation” and warned that migrants are hurting their cause by repeating any attempt to storm the border.

99 MS-13 Gang Members Arrested – All Entered US as ‘Unaccompanied Minors’

Reported By Chris Agee | April 3, 2018 at 2:44pm

URL of the original posting site: https://www.westernjournal.com/99-ms-13-gang-members-arrested-all-entered-us-as-unaccompanied-minors/

Nearly 100 members of the notoriously violent MS-13 street gang were among the young immigrants admitted into the U.S. under the classification of “unaccompanied minor” during the past 11 months, according to recent government data.

As CNS News reported, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement study found 99 gang members had received the status, including nearly two-thirds who were also granted “Special Immigrant Juvenile” status.

The immigrants arrested were targeted as part of ICE’s Operation Matador, described by the agency as a “unified effort to combat the proliferation of MS-13 and other transnational criminal gang activity in Long Island, the New York City metropolitan area and the Hudson Valley.”

As of the most recent updates available, the operation has netted 475 arrests for federal immigration authorities.

“Ninety-nine individuals arrested during this operation crossed the border as unaccompanied minors, all of which were confirmed as MS-13 gang members,” the ICE statement read.

The agency went on to confirm that “64 individuals arrested during this operation obtained Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJ) after entering the country, all of which were confirmed as MS-13 gang members.”

According to ICE, receiving the additional designation “provides certain children who have been subject to state juvenile court proceedings related to abuse, neglect, abandonment, or a similar basis under state law the ability to seek lawful permanent residence in the United States.”

The operation utilized resources from federal authorities in the Department of Homeland Security and local law enforcement personnel in New York.

Since the operation began in May, authorities from Hempstead, Piermont, Suffolk County, Nassau County, Rockland County, Sullivan County and Ulster County have assisted DHS in initiating arrests. According to ICE, a majority of the nearly 500 already arrested were “confirmed as gang members and affiliates.” Two of the MS-13 members arrested have reportedly confessed to homicides committed in their home country. One such individual was described by ICE as gang member “from El Salvador who admitted to killing rival gang members at the age of 12 in his home country and assimilated to the gang on Long Island.”

Aside from MS-13, to which 274 individuals belonged, the agency reported that the “most prominent” gang represented was “the 18th Street gang with 15 arrests.” Not only were many of those arrested connected to known street gangs, ICE noted that “80 had additional criminal histories, including prior convictions for assault and weapons charges.” At least five of those individuals “are facing serious criminal charges,” the agency added.

In addition to the broader issue of immigration, President Donald Trump has frequently made it a point to denounce MS-13 as a dangerous entity inside America’s border. He has referred to the gang’s members as “animals,” and in his first State of the Union speech implored lawmakers to “finally close the deadly loopholes” he said have allowed MS-13 members to enter the U.S.

GUNS, BOMBS and IEDs Allowed Through Security As TSA Fails 95% Of Tests

It has once again been proven that the TSA is pure security theatre, as an internal investigation found that in 95% of test runs, security screeners allowed weapons and mock explosives through, even after people carrying them had been through body screeners and been patted down.

The tests were conducted by Homeland Security Red Teams and the report released by the Homeland Security Inspector General. It states that in 67 out of 70 tests at airport checkpoints, TSA agents failed to detect dangerous weapons.  In one case a man strapped a fake bomb to his back, and set off an alarm, but still managed to get past security after a pat down.

The TSA issued a general statement saying that it employs a “robust security system that employs multiple layers of protection.”

However, behind the scenes, it seems senior officials are furious with the findings. “Upon learning the initial findings of the Office of Inspector General’s report, Secretary Johnson immediately directed TSA to implement a series of actions, several of which are now in place, to address the issues raised in the report,” the DHS said in a written statement to ABC News.

The TSA, via its website and blog routinely brags about weapons it manages to confiscate. It is clear from the latest tests, however, that the agency is woefully failing to efficiently keep airports and planes secure. The agency has previously failed so woefully during undercover tests, that the DHS classified the results for a decade.

According to one report, undercover TSA agents testing security at a Newark airport terminal on one day in 2006 found that TSA screeners failed to detect concealed bombs and guns 20 out of 22 times. A 2007 government audit leaked to USA Today revealed that undercover agents were successful slipping simulated explosives and bomb parts through Los Angeles’s LAX airport in 50 out of 70 attempts, and at Chicago’s O’Hare airport agents made 75 attempts and succeeded in getting through undetected 45 times.

In 2013, an undercover TSA inspector managed to get clearance to board a commercial flight at Newark Airport with an improvised explosive device stuffed in his pants. The inspector got past two security screenings, including a pat-down.

The TSA, instead of better training screeners, and investing in real security, has wasted billions in funding on frankly bizarre programs such as a failed ‘chat down’ program, where TSA screeners identify people they think look ‘suspicious’ and talk to them. While admitting that it has failed to apprehend one single terrorist, the TSA has launched a series of other ludicrous programs which seem to have little other purpose than treating innocent travelers like prisoners and humiliating the public.

One such program was to randomly test passengers’ drinks for explosives after they have already passed through security and purchased beverages inside the secure area of the airport.

While threatening to arrest passengers who make jokes about airport security, the federal agency also instituted a ludicrous “freeze” policy whereby travelers are ordered to stand in place like statues while TSA agents resolve some unexplained security threat.

And of course, everyone knows by now that whistle blowers and security experts have declared the TSA’s body scanners as woefully useless. Given that the manufacturers of the scanners are now in charge of TSA’s budget in Congress, however, it is likely that more tax dollars will be thrown at them, and the government will continue to pretend that airports are secure.

Ted Cruz spills secret of GOP amnesty sabotage

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, strongly suggested the fix was in from the beginning by GOP leaders to sabotage the fight against Obama’s amnesty, saying, “The cake was baked from the start.” The senator said that was evident to him immediately when GOP leaders chose a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, as the vehicle to try to stop the amnesty President Obama granted to five-million illegal immigrants by executive order in November. Cruz made the observations while speaking to a small group of reporters across the street from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, on Thursday.

WND kicked off the conversation by asking: Why won’t GOP leaders fight amnesty?

If the GOP leadership had really wanted to stop amnesty, Cruz explained, they would not have attached the provision defunding Obama’s amnesty to the DHS funding bill.

They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.”

reality

He described such agencies as “hostages the GOP could afford to hold.”

Cruz insisted GOP leaders knew all along that rank-and-file Republicans would never vote to defund the DHS during a time of increasing terror threats at home and abroad. Instead, he said, they chose a strategy that was clearly designed to fail. Cruz said he is optimistic in the long run but pessimistic in the short term about stemming the flow of illegal immigrants.

He is pessimistic because “GOP leadership joined with (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid, D-Nev., to pass amnesty.” Cruz was referring to the move this week by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to offer a “clean” bill funding the DHS, which meant dropping the provision in the bill that would have defunded implementation of Obama’s amnesty. Instead, McConnell offered a separate bill to defund amnesty, which is headed to near-certain defeat because Republicans will not be able to muster the 60 Senate votes needed to avoid a Democratic filibuster.Picture1

But Cruz said he is optimistic about the issue in the long run because of the ever-increasing public support behind the need to secure the Southern border. The senator insisted, if lawmakers were to focus on areas of bipartisan agreement, immigration reform legislation would “sail through Congress.” He identified the top two areas of bipartisan agreement as securing the border and “streamlining” the process for legal immigration.

But instead of looking for genuine progress on the issue, Cruz said, Obama and his fellow Democrats have used immigration as a “partisan cudgel,” purely for political purposes.  The senator implied Obama is not serious about immigration reform and doesn’t really care about the plight of immigrants, but would rather use them and the issue as a political weapon to increase his power. As proof of that, the senator noted how the president had a “supermajority” of Democrats in Congress during his first two years in office and could have passed any immigration reform legislation he wanted, and Republicans would have been powerless to stop him. Instead, Obama “did zero. Nothing.”

Cruz flatly accused Obama of using the Hispanic community for political purposes, saying simply, “It’s wrong.”Only Reason

DHS Labels Conservatives as “Right-Wing Sovereign Citizen Extremists” [VIDEO]

The Obama Administration’s Department of Homeland Security recently named a threat that they consider to be more dangerous than the Islamic State terrorists: Right-wing extremists. Reportedly, there is a new intelligence assessment being disseminated by the DHS that focuses on domestic terror threats from “right-wing sovereign citizen extremists,” according to CNN.Picture1

It is believed that “some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat” from these groups as “equal to-and in some cases greater than- the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more attention.”more evidence

Could it be that groups like the Islamic State receive more attention in the media because they are killing more people in the most vile and violent manner?muslim-obama Islamapologist Obama Muslim collection

CNN continued its report regarding the domestic terrorist threats by stating, “The government says these are extremists who believe that they can ignore laws and that their individual rights are under attack in routine daily instances such as a traffic stop or being required to obey a court order.” The report gives an example of one such domestic terrorist incident in which a father and son allegedly shot and killed two police officers in Louisiana during a traffic stop. The report indicates that the two purportedly belonged to the sovereign citizen movement and claimed that police had no authority over them.

Traffic stops are and have always been extremely dangerous for police officers. There is no indication in the assessment as to how this traffic stop differed from other traffic stops except for the fact that the two suspects belonged to a particular group which may or may not have contributed to the motivation for the alleged killings.

Also, there was no mention in CNN’s DHS report about whether the December 2014 brutal attack of two NYPD officers who were shot to death as they sat in their car during lunch, was an example of right-wing extremism. Perhaps this is because the man who murdered the two officers committed the violent act as retribution for the killing of a young African-American man by a white police officer earlier in the year and had no connection to a right-wing group. However, should he and people like him have been considered by the DHS as a treat more dangerous than ISIS?

Furthermore, the DHS assessment failed to recall the incident in October 2014 in which a man allegedly attacked four NYPD officers with a hatchet.

At the time, the officers were asked by CNN if the unprovoked attack was tied to terrorism or to “recent calls by radicals to attack military and police officers,” Police Commission Bill Bratton said then, “there is nothing we know as of this time that would indicate that were the case.”

A senior law enforcement official also told CNN that investigators did not believe that the suspect, a Muslim convert, was driven by radical Islamic views. Should this incident, which was not apparently committed by a member of a right-wing extremist group, have also been included on the DHS list?

Additionally, the DHS assessment is void of the number of individuals who were harmed or killed during the alleged 24 sovereign-citizen attacks. Were the numbers the same as, less than or greater than those harmed or killed by foreign terrorists? The intelligence report referenced “24 violent sovereign citizen-related attacks across the U.S. since 2010.” However, it fails to mention, for example, how these acts compare to 9/11 in which 2,977 innocent people were killed at the hands of Al Qaeda. It also doesn’t state if the number killed exceeds the 125 people who also lost their lives on 9/11 at the Pentagon.

Could the DHS legitimately claim that the right-wing extremists pose more of a threat than Al Qaeda based upon these numbers?

Then there are the murders at the hands of the Islamic State group that took the lives of four Americans in Benghazi? Does this make a difference to the DHS in their threat assessment?

Finally, did any of the 24 incidents involve a shooting at a military base which took the lives of 13 people and injured some 30 more while the shooter yelled “Allahu Akbar.” Did the DHS include the shooter on their right-wing extremist list even though there were obvious connections to Islam?

mary harfRecently, it was State Department Deputy spokesperson, Marie Harf who embarrassed herself by essentially calling for theIslamic State groupto be given jobs as a peacemaking gesture.DHS has now picked up the baton fromHarf and is charging forward with its ridiculous claim that the threat level of right-wing sovereign citizen extremists is at least comparable to, if not worse than, radicalIslamic extremists who have beheaded, burned, and tortured others. Our biggest threat is not our own citizens. Our biggest threat comes from those that seek to harm our citizens and others around the world. Our enemy continues to be emboldened as our government focuses on anyone else except “the elephant” in the room. Such avoidance threatens the very sovereignty of our nation.

Militarized IRS, FDA, SSA, DOE erodes trust, he says

Researched And Reported by Leo Hohmann

author-imageLeo Hohmann is a news editor for WND. He has been a reporter and editor at several suburban newspapers in the Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina, areas and also served as managing editor of Triangle Business Journal in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Bureau of Land Management officers are among the many federal bureaucracies that have armed themselves with military-grade weaponry in recent years.
Bureau of Land Management officers are among the many federal bureaucracies that have armed themselves with military-grade weaponry in recent years.

police_stateA Utah congressman wants to strip federal agencies of their paramilitary power, which is increasingly being used to intimidate American citizens, he says, destroying whatever small level of trust the people still have in their government.

Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, introduced HR 4934, also called the Regulatory Agency De-militarization Act or RAD, in late June, and it has since gained more than 30 co-sponsors in the House.

“When we get back to Washington (from August break) we’ll get right back to working on this RAD bill, because people know it’s just so unnecessary for the federal government to have this kind of power,” Stewart told WND. “You’ve really got to twist yourself into a pretzel to defend this type of power.”

Government is now out of control and is routinely ignores the Constitution. Get your autopgraphed copy of “Police State USA.”

Police State 02In recent years, nearly every federal regulatory agency – from the U.S. Department of Education, to the Food and Drug Administration and the Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – has deployed some kind of SWAT-type unit with high-powered assault rifles, helmets, menacing black uniforms with faces covered, body armor and militarized armored vehicles.

Stewart said it’s disturbing for Americans to read stories of federal regulators armed to the teeth and breaking into homes and businesses with no reason to think there would be resistance.

Stewart said the root of the problem goes back to the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

In a state of panic, Congress reacted by passing legislation creating the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Buried in the Homeland Security Act of 2002 was language that granted arrest and firearms authority to the criminal investigative wings of federal agencies operating under the U.S. Office of the Inspector General.

“Like a lot of times, we write bad legislation in the heat of a crisis,” Stewart said. “We did it with Dodd-Frank in reaction to the banking crisis. So that’s exactly what happened here; they gave this authority to federal agencies that never had it before. We have to pull it back now, because it creates so much distrust with the America people.

“Survey after survey shows the American people just don’t trust big government anymore and they shouldn’t because this is nothing but an intimidating show of force.”

Americans have seen what the escalation of an event can look like when federal regulators call out tactical paramilitary units. It happened in Freedom is not dictator friendlyNevada earlier this year at the ranch of Cliven Bundy, when the Bureau of Land Management brought a sniper team to the ranch, killed some of Bundy’s cattle and threatened him with guns over a legal dispute about unpaid grazing fees. The tense standoff finally ended as the BLM backed down in the face of increasing numbers of ranchers and militia groups converging on the scene, many with their own weapons.

But it’s not just the BLM that’s armed like a National Guard infantry unit. The DOE, the FDA, the IRS, the EPA, the Agriculture Department, the Commerce Department, the Social Security Administration and dozens of other agencies have all been arming themselves. And when they have guns, they buy ammunition – lots of ammunition. Even the Postal Service has joined the ranks of federal agencies that have sent out requests to purchase large amounts of ammunition in recent years, prompting people to ask the obvious question: Why?

Why, for instance, would the Social Security Administration need to put in a request for 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow-point” bullets as it did last year?

Hollow-point bullets are meant to have maximum kill power and would not be needed for target practice.

Gun owners groups support billGeorge Washington regarding 2nd Amandment with border and logo

Van Cleave, president of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, said his organization is giving its full support to Stewart’s bill, which he believes is long overdue. The reason, he said, is because many times the federal agencies will call out their SWAT units simply because their target holds a gun permit.

“The overwhelming number of gun permit holders are law-abiding, peaceful people. It’s been a long-time concern of our organization, because all this militarization of police is really not good for anyone in the country, from gun owners to anyone else, and it seems like every government organization now has its own SWAT team,” Van Cleave told WND. “But the big question is why do they need that? We have the Posse Comitatus Act that tried to keep the military and police separate, and this seems to be an end-run around that.”

Van Cleave said the military’s mission is very different from the police or regulatory mission.

“Police mission is to come in and resolve a situation as peaceably as possible whereas the military you come in and you kill them, and that’s why we don’t want that in this country,” he said. “Police are to bring peace to a situation, not kill as many people as necessary to get from point A to point B. Police are to try to avoid using deadly force at all cost, not so for the military.”

The other problem Van Cleave sees with the federal SWAT teams is they could easily touch off a violent confrontation, such as almost happened at the Bundy ranch.

“They often dress in all black, they have no name or number on their badge, their faces are often covered, and you really don’t know what is going on as they’re breaking in on you,” he said. “It’s easy to mistake them for a bunch of gang bangers breaking into your house. These no-knock warrants combined with these tactical teams are dangerous to normal citizens. The excuse they give is it’s to stop evidence from being flushed down the toilet. Our civil liberties are far more important than trying to get every little drug dealer in the drug war, which is a failure anyway, and coming in with machine guns.”

SWATT or SETT?Truman

Stewart said his bill will be an easy sell in the House. Even some Democrats will support it, he predicts.

“When you ask them what is it you don’t like about this bill it’s almost fun to watch them squirm? Who in the world thinks these agencies need SWAT teams?” he said. “The agencies themselves, they say, ‘Oh, it’s not a SWAT team it’s a Special Event Tactical Team or SETT.’ There is no difference. The American people are smart enough to know that.”

The agencies also have not been very forthcoming with information about their SWAT teams, Stewart said.

“We would ask these agencies, well, what are the rules of engagement for using these tactical units and they would say ‘oh we can’t tell you that,’” he said. “So we would ask how often are they used and under what circumstances and it’s, ‘Oh, we can’t tell you that either.’ They can’t say how many times or where they’re deployed.

DHSStewart said the House leaders will likely wait until after the November election to send their bill to the Senate.

“We’re going to get a number of Democrat co-sponsors on this,” he said. “That is very important to us, because we can’t send what appears to be an overly partisan bill to the Senate on this. But the House has sent hundreds of pieces of legislation to the Senate, and they die sitting on Harry Reid’s desk. We’re going to keep working on it, keep building co-sponsors, particularly Democratic co-sponsors, so it will take that amount of time (until after the November elections) anyway. We could send it right now, but I want it to pass.

“Sometimes you do things for the sake of messaging, but this is something I hope actually becomes law. I think we’ve got something here we can actually get through the Senate and put on president’s desk.”

Stewart said that while the problem began under President George W. Bush, the rate of militarization has increased under President Obama.

What the bill would do?Comming Soon 02

The RAD Act has three pieces:

1. It repeals the arrest and firearm authority granted to Offices of Inspectors General in the 2002 Homeland Security Act.

2. It prohibits federal agencies, other than those traditionally tasked with enforcing federal law – such as the FBI and U.S. Marshals – from purchasing machine guns, grenades and other weaponry regulated under the National Firearms Act.

3. It directs the Government Accountability Office to write a complete report detailing all federal agencies, including Offices of Inspectors General, with specialized units that receive special tactical or military-style training and that respond to high-risk situations that fall outside the capabilities of regular law enforcement officers.

“The militarization of agencies is only a symptom of a much deeper and more troubling problem within Washington – that the federal government no longer trusts the American people,” Stewart said. “When all of us feel that we are no longer seen as citizens but as potential dangerous suspects – a relationship of trust is impossible. I’m working to restore and rebuild trust – beginning with this effort to defund paramilitary capabilities within federal regulatory agencies.”

Specific examples of the militarization of federal regulatory agencies include:Tree of Liberty 03

  • In July 2010, a multi-agency task force, including armed officers from the Food and Drug Agency, raided a Venice, California, organic grocery store suspected of using raw milk, the Los Angeles Times reported.

  • In June 2011, armed federal agents with the Department of Education’s Office of Inspector General broke down the door of a Stockton, California, home at 6 a.m. and handcuffed a man suspected of student aid fraud, the Washington Post reported.

  • In July 2013, an armed multi-agency task force, including officers from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Bureau of Land Management, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the National Park Service, and the Fish and Wildlife Service, raided a small Alaska mining operation suspected of violating the Clean Water Act, the Washington Times reported.

  • On May 7, 2014, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Office of Inspector General released a solicitation for submachine guns.

Stewart said the average Americans is not even aware of the militarization problem.

“Not so much, but I’ll tell you this, it only takes 30 seconds for them to become a fan of this legislation, because all you have to do is get a list of the agencies that have these SWAT teams and show how they can be abused and they say, absolutely, something has to be done to stop this,” Stewart said. “I think we live in a time where most people are highly attuned to that and highly sensitive to the abuses of government power; and we should be, and let’s diffuse some of that power instead of sitting by and letting it increase.”

He said he understand that federal agents must be capable of protecting themselves.security_freedom_tn

“But what we have observed goes far beyond providing necessary protection. When there are genuinely dangerous situations involving federal law, that’s the job of the Department of Justice, not regulatory agencies like the FDA or the Department of Education. Not only is it overkill, but having these highly-armed units within dozens of agencies is duplicative, costly, heavy handed, dangerous and destroys any sense of trust between citizens and the federal government.”

WND’s extensive reporting on such developments in police actions range from plans to put iris scanners on school buses to an elderly vet being arrested for asking public officials to speak louder at a meeting.

There also was a cop going ballistic on a wheelchair-bound man, the feds’ biosurveillance efforts to grab Americans’ medical records and a decision by the Supreme Court that greenlighted the detention of Americans.

Another example of how the Obama regime is weaponizing federal government bureaucracies against U.S. citizens is being reported from the raid of a home in North Carolina.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), established as a reaction to the 9/11 attacks to protect U.S. citizens from terrorism the American homeland, has taken on new tyrannical and thuggish duties.

WBTV  reports: that when Jennifer Brinkley saw a line of law enforcement vehicles in her and her husband’s driveway she had no idea what the problem was. “I haven’t done anything wrong,” she said.

Jennifer Brinkley’s home was raided by Homeland Security agents, who apparently have no other pressing problems facing the country to be worried about, because Brinkley’s classic and rare 1985 Land Rover Defender supposedly didn’t meet Obama EPA emission rules, according to the Washington Times.

“They popped up the hood and looked at the Vehicle Identification Number and compared it with a piece of paper and then took the car with them,” Brinkley told WBTV.

“I’m sad because I owned the car. It’s just an iconic car. I’m in disbelief…and surprised that somebody can come in and take your property. It’s scary. It’s scary when it happens to you,” Brinkley told FOX News.

REALLY
Brinkley, who paid $60,000 for the classic SUV, believed that the vehicle was exempt from EPA standards because it was over 25 years old.

“I want my car back,” Brinkley pleaded.

Obama’s two-year ‘amnesty’ for illegal immigrant minors sparks TWELVE-FOLD spike in numbers pouring across border

Obama instituted an immigration policy that the GOP says enticed tens of thousands of Central American children to cross America’s southern border illegally without any parents to guide them.

More than 33,000 have been picked up in Texas alone since October. The U.S. border patrol says its forces are overwhelmed, and the courts are bracing for a flood of immigration cases from children held in temporary detention facilities designed to handle a fraction of the numbers. Sanitation problems are beginning to rear their ugly heads.

Obama rolled out a controversial Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in 2012, allowing many illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors to escape deportation for two years. The White House gave them another two-year window last week.

As a result, say some GOP leaders, America’s system for handling illegal immigration has been strained to the breaking point and is attracting hundreds of new illegal-immigrant children every day.

“Here’s an idea. Let’s round all these children up and ship them to the White House and have Michelle take care of them.” JB

Compared to the year before Obama’s policy took effect, twelve times as many kids are coming north illegally this year.

A half-century-old section of a U.S. Air Force base in Texas is now a holding and processing center for thousands of children who managed to enter the U.S. alone. The same is true of a Navy base in California.

And a makeshift detention center in Arizona holding 700 illegal immigrant children has ordered 2,000 mattresses to keep up with an expected influx in the coming months.

Judge: US ‘has simply chosen not to enforce … border security laws’

In a landmark court ruling in December, a federal judge ruled against the Department of Homeland Security for releasing a Salvadoran girl to her mother.

The mom had hired a smuggler to transport her daughter into the U.S., and was herself in the country illegally.

U.S. District Judge Andrew Hansen wrote that ‘this court is quite concerned with the apparent policy of the Department of Homeland Security of completing the criminal mission of those who are violating the border security of the United States.’

‘The DHS,’ Hansen added, ‘should enforce the laws of the United States – not break them.’

Sorry YetMany of the children there were sleeping on plastic boards.

According to the Associated Press, toothbrushes and toothpaste hadn’t arrived yet and were expected Monday.

Hundreds of children had not bathed in days, and were taking turns using just four showers.

Tony Banegas, Honduras’ honorary consul in Phoenix, told the AP that there were 236 Honduran children there on Saturday, including an 8-year-old.

Republicans on Capitol Hill are beyond angry. Really 01

Leaked photos from the base, which were obtained by the Breitbart.com news blog, show hundreds of children holed up in crowded concrete rooms, many of them sleeping on the bare floor without blankets or pillows.

‘The recent surge of children and teenagers from Central America showing up at our southern border is an administration-made disaster,’ Virginia GOP Rep. Bob Goodlatte, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, told Fox News last week.

Should Obama’s two-year ‘amnesty’ for illegal immigrant minors crossing the border be abolished?

‘Word has gotten out around the world about President Obama’s lax immigration enforcement policies and it has encouraged more individuals to come to the United States illegally,’ Goodlatte said in a statement. Really 01

‘Enforcement at the border and in the interior of the U.S.,’ not ‘another bureaucratic task force’ is needed, he claimed.

Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, who sits on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Friday that ‘instead of having an application of the immigration law, we are taking mothers and children and dumping them … and violating the rule[s] over and over.’

The Obama administration expects as many as 80,000 of these ‘unaccompanied minors’ to cross the border in 2014, according to the Christian Science Monitor.

That number is twelve times what it was in 2011, the year before Obama announced his deferred-action plan.

The administration now estimates the holding facilities where the youngsters are being held cost taxpayers $252 per child per day, far more than the cost of a hotel and more than the children could expect to earn in two weeks of hard work picking crops, work that many were slated to do.

Facing the question of whether to deport the minors or play a game of catch-and-release, the administration has set aside $2 million to pay for their lawyers.

“Let’s see. $252 a day per child. $2 million to defend them. Is this nuts to anyone else? How does President Obama plan on paying for all this? I repeat, let’s round them all up and send to the White and have the Obama’s take care of them ON THEIR OWN DIME.” JB

‘We’re taking a historic step to strengthen our justice system and protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of society,’ Attorney General Eric Holder said Friday in a statement. Really 01

“Hey, Mr. Holder. They are vulnerable BECAUSE YOU AND YOUR NITWIT ADMINISTRATION HAS ENCOURAGED THEM TO COME HERE. GOT IT?” JB

‘How we treat those in need, particularly young people who must appear in immigration proceedings – many of whom are fleeing violence, persecution, abuse or trafficking – goes to the core of who we are as a nation.’

Obama’s ‘deferred action’ program for minors, which he announced in a fanfare-laden June 15, 2012 Rose Garden press conference, applies only to children who came to America before mid-2007.

‘It makes no sense to expel talented young people, who, for all intents and purposes, are Americans,’ the president said then.

BSorry Yetut Capitol Hill is rife with fears that the message was garbled by the time it reach Guatemala, Honduras and other countries where poverty runs rampant. Many children traveling north on their own hope the policy will include them.

That’s what ‘coyotes,’ the smugglers who bring them in, are telling them to expect, according to Tania Chavez, a representative with La Union del Pueblo Entero, told KRGV-TV. in southern Texas.

The minors flooding over the border are often teenagers leaving behind poverty or violence in Mexico and other parts of Central America such as Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala.

With the president traveling in Europe last week, there have been no press briefings at the White House where questions might be put to outgoing press secretary Jay Carney.

But Obama met privately Monday morning with a group of nurses from across the country ‘to discuss the importance of passing commonsense immigration reform,’ according to the White House.

The Associated Press reported Monday that in a May 30 memo to the National Security Council’s transborder security directorate, Border Patrol Deputy Chief Ronald Vitiello warned that the influx of unexpected illegals has stretched the border patrol beyond reason.

But releasing them or reuniting them with family members in the United States would serve as ‘incentives to additional individuals to follow the same path.’

DHS Emails Reveal U.S. May Have Terrorist “Hands Off” List

http://www.judicialwatch.org/blog/2014/05/dhs-emails-reveal-u-s-may-terrorist-hands-list/

MAY 09, 2014

The Obama administration appears to have a terrorist “hands off” list that permits individuals with extremist ties to enter the country, according to internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents obtained by a United States Senator.

It’s unimaginable that any government would do this, but it seems like the Obama administration is constantly breaking new ground. The disturbing details of this secret initiative were made public this week by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, who has obtained DHS electronic mail discussing what could be a terrorist “hands off” list. The exchange includes a 2012 email chain between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) asking whether to admit an individual with ties to various terrorist groups. The individual had scheduled an upcoming flight into the U.S., according to an announcement issued by the senator.

“….. a terrorist “hands off” list Oh that makes a lot of sense. Let’s see how many people we can let into our country who are determinied to destroy our country and turn it into Sharia Law.” JB

The person was believed to be a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and a close associate and supporter Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to the mail exchange obtained by Grassley’s office. The terrorist suspect had also been in secondary inspection “several dozen times of the past several years,” the agency emails reveal, but had not undergone a secondary inspection since 2010. This seems to imply that the suspect has been on the U.S. government’s radar for some time.

“…..a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and a close associate and supporter Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad,”

It gets better. The DHS emails also reveal that this particular terrorism suspect has actually taken legal action against the U.S., presumably because authorities violated the hands off policy. The subject “has sued CBP twice in the past and that he’s one of the several hands off passengers nationwide,” according to the DHS emails obtained by Senator Grassley’s office. The documents go on to say that the terrorist’s records were removed and that the DHS Secretary (at the time Janet Napolitano) was involved in the matter.

“….has actually taken legal action against the U.S., presumably because authorities violated the hands off policy.

This is pure insanity and the senator has tried for months to get answers from DHS. In February he wrote a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson saying this:

“I’m puzzled how someone could be a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, be an associate of [redacted], say that the US is staging car bombings in Iraq and that [it] is ok for men to beat their wives, question who was behind the 9/11 attacks, and be afforded the luxury of a visitor visa and de-watchlisted. It doesn’t appear that we’ll be successful with denying him entry tomorrow but maybe we could re-evaluate the matter in the future since the decision to de-watchlist him was made 17 months ago.”

BS WARNING BS ALERT

The agency’s response, dated April 10, apparently frustrated the senator enough to make the whole thing public this week. DHS let CBP Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske get back to Grassley. His letter says the agency does not have the authority to ignore information that renders an individual alien inadmissible because CBP does not have the discretionary authority to admit an inadmissible alien. “Accordingly, CBP does not have any list or other mechanism which would render an individual free of the grounds of inadmissibility or from any other inspection requirements, including secondary inspections,” Kerlikowske writes.

He goes on to pass the buck to another agency, the Department of Justice (DOJ). “The Terrorist Watchlist is maintained by the Terrorist Screening Center, which was created by the Attorney General and is administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigations,” the CBP commissioner writes. “All questions related to the watchlist should therefore be referred to the Department of Justice for response.” Kerlikowske also offers to provide the senator with a “more detailed briefing on the particular case cited in your letter, in the appropriate setting.” That means nothing will be put in writing so as to avoid any sort of future incrimination in the event the scandal blows wide open.
