MNU Alumnae Capt. Tammie Jo Shults, pilot for SWA 1380, is being credited as a hero. Tammie Jo, a 1983 graduate, safely landed the passenger plane after engine failure. Prior to joining Southwest, Tammie Jo was one of the first female fighter pilots in the U.S. Navy.
