“Sounds Like You’re Anti-American,… Anti-Law – I’m the Master”: CT State Police to Gun Owner On How Gun Law Will Be Enforced

Connecticut State Police Lt. Paul Vance became famous, or infamous depending on how you view things, in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting. I spoke with Lt. Vance last year to clear up a couple of questions surrounding Sandy Hook. During that conversation, Lt. Vance was a gentleman and answered all of my questions in a candid manner. However, with that said, a recent audio of a call indicates that he is more than willing to comply with laws that are against the Second Amendment, and is willing to send those in the lower ranks of the Connecticut State Police to enforce those laws.
Lt. Vance was phoned by Guerilla Media Network Producer, Guerilla Girl Ashley, and asked what the repercussions of refusing the state’s law regarding state residents registering their firearms or surrendering them.
During the call, which lasted about seven minutes, there were numerous things that Lt. Vance said that truly make one shake their head.
Ashley said that her husband received a letter in the mail indicating that since he had failed to register the so-called “assault weapons” (and I’m betting he doesn’t have such a thing) or his high capacity magazines that he would have to sell them, move them out of state, break them or surrender them to law enforcement. You can see the letter for yourself here.
“What happens if my husband decides not to do this?” Ashley asked.
Lt. Vance told her the question would be best addressed by a lawyer. However, Lt. Vance indicated that his understanding is that refusing to register those guns would be a felony, just as John Cinque indicated last year, when he stood against Republicans against the proposal of the new law.
Vance went on to say that he “didn’t know what would happen” to those that would not abide by the new law. He did indicate that the letter was put out to inform gun owners of what they needed to do in order to be “within the law.”
What I found curious was the fact that the state knew who had these weapons. Vance clearly indicates that they know this (2:10 mark). Consider that the ATF is not to retain information when you purchase a gun through a dealer. In fact, when you fill out the ATF form for a new gun purchase that is to be retained by the dealer on site. It is not sent into the ATF. Reports have been made that ATF officials have been illegally going into gun dealers and photocopying these forms and taking them from the premises. Granted, I’m not familiar with Connecticut laws. They may require one go through a background check and need a permit to even purchase a gun. My advice is to do private transactions and one of the best places for that is Armslist.com.
She then asks a pertinent question. “Isn’t this a slippery slope that will put the police in harm’s way?”
Vance indicated that he didn’t see that perspective and so Ashley points out that going door to door, if that is what enforcing the law comes down to, would not put policemen’s lives at risk. Of course, Lt. Vance said that police don’t look at things that way, but just want everyone to abide by the law. At this point, one should ask the question if police are allowed to have semi-automatic rifles and high capacity magazines, but I digress.
Lt. Vance was clear that until the State or the Supreme Court determined a law was unconstitutional, it was a lawful law. In other words, when asked if he took an oath to the Constitution, he would not acknowledge that, but rather put the issue back on the court system.
One thing I do agree with Lt. Vance on regarding this issue is that people should seek the advice of their attorney or their legislators, not the police. Asking the police about a matter like this is like asking and IRS official to help you with your taxes. It’s a bad idea.
One thing to note is that Vance said he did not want to speak about the Constitution, though he mistook Ashley’s reference to a “conversation” as “Constitution.” He wanted to stick to state law. However, considering that Connecticut’s state constitution clearly states in Article 1, Section 15:
Every citizen has a right to bear arms in defense of himself and the state.
It seems to me that if one has the right, and that was defined previously in the Declaration of Independence as an unalienable right from God, the Creator, then one does not need a permit to own a gun or to carry a gun. That would also imply that since it is a right given by God, not the State, then gun registration is just as intrusive. However, again, ask yourself why it is necessary to register a gun that the state already knows you have. It is to make you a criminal for simply exercising your rights.
With that in mind, Lt. Vance asked how he could help and when Ashley asked what the police would actually do to enforce the law, fearing for her family, Lt. Vance responded:
“Ma’am, it sounds like you’re anti-American, it sounds like you’re anti-law.”
Ashley took offense at Lt. Vance’s statement, which he seems to backtrack from when she calls him on it.
While Vance indicated that he would never come to her house, Ashley did point out that those in his ranks would, which he seemed to agree with.
When Ashley tried to point out that Lt. Vance is a public servant and that she paid his salary with taxes, Lt. Vance rightfully pointed out that he also pays taxes. However, he went on to state, “I’m the master, ma’am. I’m the master.”
To be fair, listen to the conversation. Lt. Vance was not attempting to be provocative, at least not in my opinion. However, what he said should cause every citizen of Connecticut that loves freedom and understands their state constitution and the Second Amendment to do just what Lt. Vance advised, and that is start talking to your attorneys and put the pressure on the tyrants in your legislature. As John Cinque rightly indicated to representatives last year, don’t vote any of these people back into office and unless someone is going to uphold your liberties and repeal such nonsense, inform that that you will not vote for them. Perhaps there should be some pressure to bear upon Lt. Vance as well to conform to both constitutions, rather than to unlawful laws.
My personal advice would be to see your local Sheriff. He’s the one that you want to depend on in this situation. He is an elected law enforcement officer, and we have been seeing the sheriffs across the United States taking a stand for the Second Amendment.
Already, Connecticut has told gun owners, who have not registered their guns or high capacity magazines, to surrender their firearms. Tens of thousands have said “No” to the order, and some patriots have issued a warning that they are armed, and “are familiar with the finer points of marksmanship.”

Georgia House Votes to Nullify Obamacare

ALWAYS REMEMBER, AND REMIND EVERYONE ELSE
Late Monday evening, the Georgia State House of Representatives passed HB707, which bans the state participating in significant portions of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. The vote was 115-59.
Representative Jason Spencer introduced HB707, The Georgia Health Care Freedom and ACA Noncompliance Act. Spencer also had five co-sponsors to the bill.
According to Tenth Amendment Center executive director Michael Boldin, “While Georgia can’t fully stop Obamacare on its own, it can serve as a pretty major roadblock to implementation,” he said. “And as more states get on board with this strategy, it will pull the rug out from under it. Bills like this will end Obamacare from the bottom up.”
HB707 specifically provides the following bans:
- Prohibits any state agencies, departments or political subdivisions from using resources or spending funds to advocate for the expansion of Medicaid. This provision works hand-in-hand with HB990 to make it more difficult to expand Medicaid. HB990 would require legislative approval for expansion of the program, barring the governor from doing it by executive order.
- Prohibits the state of Georgia from running an insurance exchange.
- Refuses and federal grant money for the purpose of creating or running a state insurance exchange.
- Ends the University of Georgia Health Navigator Program.
- Prohibits the Commissioner of Insurance from investigating or enforcing any alleged violation of federal health insurance requirements mandated by Obamacare.
Tenth Amendment Center executive director Michael Boldin said, “While Georgia can’t fully stop Obamacare on its own, it can serve as a pretty major roadblock to implementation. And as more states get on board with this strategy, it will pull the rug out from under it. Bills like this will end Obamacare from the bottom up.”
Judge Andrew Napolitano agrees. Regarding South Carolina’s push to remove Obamacare from being implemented in the Palmetto state, Napolitano said, “If Enough States do this, It will Gut Obamacare.”
The Tenth Amendment center also points out:
The provision prohibiting the Georgia insurance commissioner from investigating or enforcing violations of federally mandated health insurance requirements will prove particularly problematic for the feds. Insurance commissioners serve as the enforcement arm for insurance regulation in the states. The federal government has no enforcement arm. It assumed the state insurance commissioners would enforce all of the provisions of the ACA. So, when people have issues with their mandated coverage, they will have to call the feds. At this point, it remains unclear who they will even call. Issues the Georgia insurance commissioner will not address include prohibiting a denial of insurance for preexisting conditions, requiring dependent coverage for children up to age 26, and proscribing lifetime or yearly dollar limits on coverage of essential health benefits.
Rep. Spencer said, “Disputes over these mandates arise under federal, not state law. The federal Department of Health and Human Services can be expected to seek to commandeer the machinery of Georgia’s commissioner of insurance to enforce them or to investigate alleged violations because at present there is no federal health insurance agency and Congress is not likely to create one given the substantial opposition to Obamacare. Under HB707, the feds won’t be able to do that. They’ll have to figure out how to do it themselves.”
The legislation rests on a little known ruling by the Supreme Court referred to as the anti-commandeering doctrine.
Georgia is one of eleven states engaged in some form of nullification of Obamacare.
As I have pointed out before, nullification is a good thing, but it requires more, should the federal government seek to show a use of force and make an example of one state. That would require interposition, or the state stepping in and making it a crime to enforce federal laws that are deemed unconstitutional by the state. For nullification with teeth, I suggest taking a look at Albany, New York’s nullification of NDAA.
The bill will now move to the Senate.

Obamacare Architect: “Insurance Companies As We Know Them Are About to Die”
http://freedomoutpost.com/2014/03/obamacare-architect-insurance-companies-know-die/#pkFBw3D9GGG2BzGW.99
When Obamacare was passed, many individuals in the conservative circles made predictions about the effect this legislation would have regarding the health care insurance industry, health care providers and acquisition of health care itself. At the time, those pointing out the failures of Obamacare were ostracized, called “doomsayers,” and outright liars. But, as time has gone by, these predictions have been seen and continue to be exposed and felt across the country. Stories of drastically increased health care insurance premiums, policy cancellations and pure unaffordability of premiums along with services that were previously covered now not covered have made headline news. These stories were so frequent and horrid that Harry Reid (D-NV) called everyone who had an Obamacare horror story a liar in an attempt to “cover” the Democratic bumble in its passage.
“ALWAYS REMEMBER”
As it turns out, one of the architects of Obamacare, Ezekiel Emanuel, has just disclosed that “insurance companies as we know them are about to die.” In fact, Emanuel predicts the end of health care insurance companies by 2020. I wonder if Harry Reid would like to take to the stage and call anyone who said this years ago a liar now.
In an op-ed featured on New Republic, Emanuel stated, “The good news is you won’t have insurance companies to kick around much longer. The system is changing. As a result, insurance companies as they are now will be going away. Indeed, they are already evolving. For the next few years, insurance companies will both continue to provide services to employers, and, increasingly, compete against each other in the health insurance exchanges.”
Emanuel, in his op-ed, stated that individuals blame the insurance companies for increased premiums, denial of insurance, or denial of high-priced drugs because they are the easy target. He stated that individuals do not place the blame accordingly: underlying hospitals or physicians who charge high prices and pharmaceutical companies who set the prices for drugs. Seeing this “misplacement” of blame, politicians seize on this position and gain support when they attack the health care insurance companies. But, Emanuel claimed the actions of the insurance companies are the result of the way our health care system is structured: “how it incentivizes and forces certain behaviors.”
According to Emanuel, new groups called “accountable care organizations” or ACOs “must start competing directly in the health care exchanges for exclusive contracts with employers.” Because of Obamacare, new participants will “force insurance companies to evolve or become extinct.”
According to Emanuel in New Republic:
The accountable care organizations (ACOs) and hospital systems will begin competing directly in the exchanges and for exclusive contracts with employers. These new organizations are delivery systems with networks of physicians and hospitals that provide comprehensive care. This health delivery structure is in its infancy. Today there are hundreds of these organizations being created and gaining experience within government sponsored programs or getting contracts from private insurers. They are developing and testing ways to coordinate, standardize, and provide care more efficiently and at consistent higher quality standards. Over the next decade, many of these ACOs and hospital systems will succeed at integrating all the components of care and provide efficient, coordinated care. They will have the physician and hospital networks. They will have standardized, guideline driven care plans for most major conditions and procedures to increase efficiency. They will have figured out how to harness their electronic medical records to better identify patients who will become sick and how to intervene early as well as how to care for the well-identified chronically ill so as to reduce costs.
The key skill these ACOs and hospital systems lack – the skill insurance companies specialize in – is the actuarial capacity to predict and manage financial risk. But over the next decade this is something they will develop – or purchase.
Emanuel claimed with the actuarial science skill, ACOs and hospital system will become integrated health delivery systems, such as Kaiser or Group Health of Puget Sound, cutting out the middle man insurance company and keeping the insurance company profits for themselves.
Another path the insurance companies may take would be to transform themselves into integrated health delivery systems. Since insurance companies start out with the actuarial skills, they would only need to add providers of services in order to become an integrated delivery system. According to Emanuel, the easiest way for the insurance companies to do this would be to purchase or enter into exclusive agreements with “efficient hospital systems, ACOs or physician groups.”
Personally, I don’t find any of this good news especially in reading the rest of the article and some of Emanuel’s statements. Emanuel stated, “The worried well might wonder what happens if they contract a serious illness, such as cancer or some rare disease, will they be restricted only to physicians in the delivery system?” His answer to his own question should raise the alarm; “We should note that many people pick Kaiser or Group Health and get all of their care from those integrated systems, and they don’t seem to worry that they are not getting the highest quality care.”
Out of the mouth of the architect comes the stark hard fact that these integrated systems may not provide the highest quality care nor provide a choice in health care provision. Many saw this coming when the atrocity that is Obamacare was passed. The states and congressional representatives have failed the American public and subjected us to the realization of health care delivery reminiscent of the communist USSR.
Everyone wants high quality health care at a reasonable price. There is not one person in America who wants low or average quality health care nor is there any one person in America who doesn’t worry about getting high quality care. With the health care structure and the insurance companies before Obamacare, individuals were able to receive high quality care at a reasonable price. Specialty care was covered either through the chosen carrier or an additional policy, such as for cancer. Individuals had a choice of providers and could see a provider outside of the network with approval at a higher rate, if the individual chose that option. Many insurance companies provided for out of state coverage when treatments for certain conditions and diseases were more advanced than what was provided in the individual’s service area. Granted, the out of pocket expense was greater but what is important to remember is the choice to receive or not receive those services. There was always the choice to pay for services without going through the insurance company when the service was denied or out of network.
All of this boils down to the removal of the freedom of choice in health care, ranging from service providers to treatment. Americans will be at the mercy of those “ACOs” or integrated health care delivery systems. When an individual has a choice in providers for health care services, those providers know that individuals will seek treatment elsewhere when their services are below that of another provider; those services would include customer service, specialty services, preventive services and screenings, bedside treatment, etc. along with access to high quality care providers. Without this competition, the need to strive to improve quality and expand services becomes nil.
Then, one must think about research. Where does the cutting edge medical research take place in these new ACOs or integrated health care systems?
Emanuel went on to say that these integrated delivery systems would compete with their “objectively validated high-quality networks.” To provide services for rare and serious conditions, Emanuel stated the integrated delivery systems will do one of two things. First, they could identify “recognized centers of excellence – the absolute best places in the country – and contract special arrangements for the referral and treatment of their patients.” Second, more expensive benefit plans would have a provision for second opinions. He cited a market for supplemental insurance to cover second opinions for serious conditions that would appeal to the “well-heeled and worried.”
It has been my experience with insurance companies that a second opinion is covered when facing a serious condition or treatment such as surgery. Now, according to Emanuel, only certain “plans” will include a second opinion while others will need to have additional insurance to cover a second opinion. Most everyone should know that a second opinion is considered one of the rights of medical care. Every individual is entitled to a second opinion concerning diagnosis and treatment when it comes to serious illness, diseases or surgical intervention. It looks as though with Obamacare, a second opinion is a privilege afforded to those who pay the price for it, which means higher premiums for a plan that includes it or pay an additional insurance price to cover those second opinions.
Either way you look at it, Obamacare is destroying health care in America and doing nothing but nickel and diming an already financially strained citizenry. At one time, America could boast the best health care system in the world. It wasn’t perfect but it was better than any other country. So what happened with the tried and true, “if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it?” That has all changed with Obamacare. What America can look forward to is what has been described by Emanuel. Whether the care will be high quality at this point could be a toss up depending on the plan you choose and can afford. At this point, the affordability of any plan is questionable.
So much for the promise, “if you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan, period.” It looks as though America can kiss the insurance companies and their health care plans good-bye. So, who was actually doing the lying, Harry?

Black Genocide in Former Slave State
http://lastresistance.com/4942/black-genocide-former-slave-state/#TZitGZdI8glSirZf.99
Posted By Michael Minkoff on Mar 4, 2014
More than half of the abortions done in Georgia are of black babies. Not only that, there were 501 abortions nationally for every 1,000 births in the black community. If that is not black genocide, I don’t know what would qualify. If you think things were worse for black people when Georgia was a slave state, you aren’t paying attention.
These statistics are just disturbing. Most of you are probably aware that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, was a confirmed eugenicist and rabid racist, but, just to make sure, here’s a little quote for you to chew on:
“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”
Well, she got her wish. Whether it’s Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton or countless other black liberals, black genocide is in full swing and they are selling it hard to the black community. Why don’t black people pull away from these leaders? From the Democrat Party? Seriously. I don’t understand it. Conservatives are regularly accused of racism because of our general stance against the welfare state, but doesn’t anyone understand the connection here?
As of 2012, about 60% of black people were dependent on civil government assistance. Welfare and black genocide go hand in hand. Black genocide is just the government’s way of saving money. Call it racism. Call it what you want.
The conservative rejection of welfare and abortion also goes hand in hand. We want people to take care of themselves for the most part. We want people to live dignified and upstanding lives, and we think they have a better chance of doing that when they aren’t being handicapped by civil government largesse.
Black Americans need to wake up. White Americans too for that matter. The civil government is not your friend right now. It’s time we forced the civil government to let us take care of ourselves. This black genocide needs to end.
The Fascist Gay Lobby’s Hypocrisy

What will the fascist gay lobby say now?
Governor of New Mexico, Susana Martinez, has been told by her gay hairdresser that he will no longer be working on her coif. It seems that her hairdresser, Mr. Antonio Darden, does not appreciate the Governor’s stance on homosexuality and gay marriage. Because of this he will no longer cut her hair.
Darden told a local news station that he cut the governor’s hair three times, but won’t do it again as long as she continues to oppose gay marriage.
“The governor’s aides called not too long ago, wanting another appointment to come in,” he told KOB-TV. “Because of her stances and her views on this, I told her aides no. They called the next day, asking if I’d changed my mind about taking the governor in and I said no.”
“It’s just equality, dignity for everyone,” he said. “Everybody should be allowed the right to be together.”
I think Mr. Darden is well within his rights to refuse service to anyone he chooses – but given the recent spate of lawsuits against Christian business owners for not serving at gay weddings – it seems like the outcry from the liberal community should be immediate. They’ve been the ones saying that Christians’ refusal to perform at gay weddings amounted to a new kind of “Jim Crow” – so wouldn’t this be similar?
The fact is that the gay lobby and the liberal community have overplayed their hand. They have been refusing service (and worse) to conservatives FOR YEARS. Whether the issue has been homosexuality, immigration, abortion, etc. they have always found reasons to marginalize and attack us. Now that Christians have turned the tables and refused to perform at gay weddings, the gay lobby has gotten litigious.
For years (especially in 80’s movies about the beach) we were told “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service” and we all assumed that businesspeople had the right to refuse service to anyone they didn’t want to serve. In years past we also understood the free market better and knew that for the free market to operate fairly and justly, both parties had to CHOOSE to be part of the transaction.
Forcing business owners to serve everyone no matter what is just as fascist and despotic as the government saying that some people CAN’T be served.
Apparently, liberals are now openly embracing fascism.

READ AND WEEP: Teenager Pens Poem For Next Generation That’s a MUST READ

The poem “Our Generation” was posted to Twitter this week by Derek Nichols. It was written by his younger brother Jordan. It has an interesting concept: the message varies depending on if you read it bottom-to-top or top-to-bottom.
The poem, as read top-to-bottom:
Our generation will be known for nothing.
Never will anybody say,
We were the peak of mankind.
That is wrong, the truth is
Our generation was a failure.
Thinking that
We actually succeeded
Is a waste.
And we know
Living only for money and power
Is the way to go.
Being loving, respectful, and kind
Is a dumb thing to do.
Forgetting about that time,
Will not be easy, but we will try.
Changing our world for the better
Is something we never did.
Giving up
Was how we handled our problems.
Working hard
Was a joke.
We knew that
People thought we couldn’t come back
That might be true,
Unless we turn things around
If you read the poem in reverse, the dire tone is flipped on its head:
Unless we turn things around
That might be true,
People thought we couldn’t come back
We knew that Was a joke.
Working hard
Was how we handled our problems.
Giving up Is something we never did.
Changing our world for the better
Will not be easy, but we will try.
Forgetting about that time,
Is a dumb thing to do.
Being loving, respectful, and kind
Is the way to go.
Living only for money and power
Is a waste.
And we know
We actually succeeded
Thinking that
Our generation was a failure.
That is wrong, the truth is
We were the peak of mankind.
Never will anybody say,
Our generation will be known for nothing.
With confident and imaginative young people like Jordan, they will do just fine – as long as they don’t let others get in the way of their dreams
‘You can’t do this!’ Parents revolt against ‘ObamaCore’

‘It’s truly a grassroots effort. It is extraordinary’

President Obama visits a pre-kindergarten classroom at the College Heights Early Childhood Learning Center in Decatur, Ga., on feb. 14, 2013.
By Karen VanTil Gushta
Editor’s Note: This is the fourth in a series of stories about Common Core, the controversial new educational agenda aimed at imposing federal government standards on every aspect of public and private education in America, which some are even calling “ObamaCore.” The first part examined the high stakes for parents, students and education. The second followed the money trail behind Common Core. The third revealed who is fighting back.
The battle over Common Core is far from over. More and more people are joining the fight against it, even in states where it is considered a done deal. Parents and concerned citizens now realize what’s at stake is the complete makeover of America’s schools in the image of Common Core. And in all likelihood, homeschools and private schools will eventually be required to follow the national standards, too.

“There are a lot of organizations that have sprung up for the express purpose of fighting Common Core,” said Jane Robbins, senior fellow at the American Principles Project.
She has spoken to Republican, tea-party and 9/12 groups and people who’ve started Facebook pages against Common Core.
“It’s truly a grassroots effort. It is extraordinary,” Robbins said, explaining that no one thought the movement would get this big. “The whole point was the way they treated this was that it would be a done deal before anyone found out. They thought people would be sheep and roll over and accept what the ‘experts’ told them to do. But it hasn’t turned out that way.”
She doesn’t think the opposition to Common Core is going to fade away.
“If those pushing Common Core think this is just going to stay under wraps and it will die out,” Robbins said, “they are in for a great surprise. People will not stand for it when their children are involved.”
Opponents to Common Core say it is a states-rights issue, a teacher-rights issue and ultimately a parents-rights issue because it is about children and their futures. They say Common Core will not benefit kids and, instead, will benefit big publishing companies that produce the tests and textbooks (like Pearson) and software companies (like Microsoft) that provide online testing. These companies stand to make hundreds of millions of dollars in the billion-dollar education industry.

Who’s profiting?
It’s not just the textbook and testing companies that will profit, according to Robbins.
“It’s the groups who want to be in charge, and those people are in the federal government and in state departments of education,” she said. “They are happy to let the federal government tell them what to do. It’s the people in the trade associations. Those are the people who benefit from transferring control from the local level.”
The Arkansas State Board of Education approved the standards in 2010, and Common Core is now impacting math teaching.
“All of a sudden, we cannot help our own children,” said one parent.
Kimberlee Shaw and Kelly Thompson, members of Parental Awareness for Common Core, protest at Lawyer’s Mall in Annapolis, Md. (Photo: Maryland Reporter)
Another mom said her fifth-grader and her seventh-grader used to love math, but now it’s more of a headache. She elaborated in an interview with the Jonesboro, Ark., TV station.
“It’s like they’re trying to take the parents out of the education process,” she said. “We have no books; we have no guidance to help our children.”
Robbins said parents need to remember they are “in charge of their children’s education, and the people who want to assume that control, especially those in government, work for them.”
She emphasized: “The thing parents have to understand, and I think they are beginning to understand, is that this education monolith has grown over the past 50 years without any constitutional authority, and if they stop and say, ‘You can’t do this!,’ it will crumble.”
The battle against Common Core can be won, Robbins said, “but people will have to wake up, and they will have to decide that they are free-born American citizens, and they don’t have to do what they are told by people to whom they have not given that authority.”
Terrence O. Moore, author of “The Story Killers: A Common Sense Case Against the Common Core,” thinks the Common Core proponents have “overstepped.” Now parents are starting to figure out what the changes mean.
“And the prospect of a national curriculum is really starting to bother people. So they’re looking at what we can do that’s better,” he said.
Like Robbins, Moore thinks people are starting to see that the problems in education didn’t just start with Common Core.
“They are waking up to what we’ve had for decades,” Moore told WND. “People now see that their schools are not as good as they thought they were. Homeschooling, charter schools, private schools show a clear desire for school reform among 10-20 percent of the people.”
Moore thinks the private initiative is a hopeful sign.
“I hope that students and parents will pay more attention to what’s going on in the classroom,” he said. “I don’t think they will just lapse into indifference. The more they find out, the worse it is, and this will have to have electoral consequences and consequences for the way schools are set up.”

‘Nationalized education’
As a historian, Moore, who is assistant professor of history at Hillsdale College, takes the long view.
“We have to have a national discussion about what education is,” he said. “This needs to be part of the Common Core discussion. People are letting Common Core proponents say education is ‘college and career readiness.’ There’s a lot more to education than just getting into college and then getting a job.”
Many Republicans, including Jeb Bush, don’t understand this, he said.
“They say they are talking reform – but they always come back to saying it’s the computer that’s going to revolutionize education,” Moore explained. “They are not talking about education but ‘job training.’”
Moore, who was principal of a highly successful classical charter school in Fort Collins, Colo., before joining the Hillsdale faculty and becoming academic adviser to Hillsdale’s Charter School Initiative, wrote in “The Story Killers”:
We know what works in schools – or we ought to. A liberal education works, and it works for a reason. The wolf in progressive sheep’s clothing never works, and it fails for a reason. The key rests in the human mind and soul. Human beings want to know things. Human beings also feel things. They have a moral constitution. Both the human mind and soul long for greatness, for stories that are good and beautiful and true.
Will Estrada, director of federal relations with the Home School Legal Defense Association, agrees: “It’s about giving that love of learning to individual kids. That’s what this whole battle is really about.”
Estrada said central planners claim they need access to student data to improve education.
“The successes of homeschool and private schools have shown that it’s not having 400 points of data on every student, but rather good teaching, good curriculum and parental involvement,” he said. “That’s the key.”
In their effort to inform parents about the negative impact Common Core will have, the Home School Legal Defense Association has produced a documentary, “Building the Machine,” scheduled to be released March 10.
“The big issue is that parents have got to be involved in their children’s education. They have to wake up and see what’s going on with education,” said Estrada, echoing Robbins and Moore.
“We want to re-inspire them and show how essential it is for parents to be involved in their children’s education, whether you homeschool, whether you private school or use public schools,” Estrada said. “One of the unintended consequences is that more public school parents are getting involved. But this may be their last shot. If Common Core goes into effect, it will bring about nationalized education. This shows why this is such a critical battle.”

Defeated, ‘eventually’
“We think Common Core will eventually be defeated,” said Estrada. But he agrees with Terrence Moore – “The question is what’s going to replace it?” How should we reform public education? “We have to leave education decisions in hands of local school boards, competent teachers and parents.
“I hope the battle over Common Core is signaling that parents are going to be more engaged in their children’s education,” Estrada concluded.
Robbins, Moore and Estrada all believe parents hold the key to taking back America’s schools. They are the only hope in preventing progressive elites from gaining complete control.
William H. Jeynes, professor of education at California State University, Long Beach, and author of the acclaimed book, “Parental Involvement and Academic Success,” shared his views on how to enlist more parents in the battle against Common Core.
Since research shows that parental involvement is highly related to children’s academic outcomes, Jeynes said parents “need to be available to their children to refute inaccuracies that might arise in the curriculum.”
He said parents should attend school-board meetings and “make their displeasure known to the officials,” including their state legislators and Congress.
Jeynes urges African-American and Hispanic parents to join the fight against Common Core. The secularized content of the Common Core will particularly impact them, since they generally say their faith is important to them.
“It is ironic that American educational leaders are looking to increasingly secularize the curriculum of our public schools,” Jeynes said, “because research indicates that if African-American and Hispanic children are believers [in Jesus Christ] and come from two biological parent families, the achievement gap is actually totally eliminated” – a fact that Jeynes documented in his 2003 book, “Religion, Education, and Academic Success.” In view of these facts, Jeynes said every effort should be made to inform parents about the secularized content of the Common Core.

Christianity undermined
Moore, in chapters five and eight of “The Story Killers,” shows in detail how Common Core handles religion.
“As long as it is an ‘origin myth’ – like an American Indian account of natural origins – it is applauded. Anything having to do with Christianity is excluded or undermined,” he said.
Christians should “do all that they can to make this a nationwide political issue,” Jeynes said. “The nation also needs Christians who care enough about the public school system to stand against negative trends of this kind. Therefore, believers should seriously consider such actions as becoming teachers themselves or running for the school board or a higher political office.”
Both Jeynes and Moore suggested it may be time for parents to “vote with their feet.” Jeynes challenged pastors to consider initiating or expanding Christian schools and suggested that many Christians may want to consider homeschooling. Moore is working with Hillsdale College to set up a network of charter schools that offer students traditional classical education.
Whichever way parents go on this issue, it is now clear – the battle over Common Core will be won or lost, depending on their actions.

Union Goons Have License to Run Wild In Pennsylvania

‘Organizers’ Can’t Be Prosecuted for Terrorist Threats, Stalking, Harassment

But Rose can’t take any legal action against her harassers, who are union members displeased by her company’s use of non-union labor.
Rose lives in Pennsylvania and is an executive at Post Bros., a construction company building apartments in Philadelphia. Under normal circumstances, she could file a lawsuit against her aggressors for stalking and harassment. Unfortunately for her, there is an exemption in Pennsylvania law that protects union members from being prosecuted for stalking, harassment, or even threatening to use a weapon of mass destruction.
State representative Ron Miller is hoping to repeal the little know exemptions in the law with HB 1154, but the unions are fighting back.
“We think the law works,” Pennsylvania AFL-CIO president Rick Bloomingdale said to reporters last week, explaining that the exemption is necessary to protect labor free speech rights.
Miller, however, compares the law to “a gateway drug.” “If we make certain people exempt, it will lead to other things,” he tells me. “If you allow intimidation, stalking, and harassment, . . . it will lead to the next step, to things that are truly illegal.”
In the three separate sections of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code that describe sanctions, ranging from “summary offense” to “felony of the second degree,” for the three categories of crime, an additional clause rules: “This section shall not apply to lawful conduct by a party to a labor dispute.”
Frank Snyder, secretary-treasurer of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, tells the Lehigh Valley Morning Call the exemptions protect free speech and claims National Labor Relations Board figures “show employers routinely, and with total disregard for the law, intimidate, harass, stalk and even fire people who try to form unions.”
Bloomingdale told the Pottsville Mercury that the three exemptions were put in place “with bipartisan support” in 1993, the year Democrats gained control of the state legislature for the first time in decades.
For Rose, the origins matter little. Because the union members never actually physically harmed her, and because the law specifically exempts union officials from prosecution for stalking and harassment, she did not have sufficient grounds for a lawsuit.
When Rose did file suit against Edward Sweeney, the long-time ironworker official who had been harassing her for months, Sweeney cited the labor exemptions and was found not guilty. Municipal Judge Charles Hayden reportedly chastised both parties for “wasting my time.”
Miller’s bill is currently in the Pennsylvania State House.

Destroying the U.S. Military

In an act of incredible naiveté or stupid or both, the U.S. is negotiating with Iran in the belief that diplomacy will have any effect on an Islamic republic that has regarded itself at war with the U.S. and Israel since it came into being in 1979.
Any nation seen to be weak will have to deal with its enemies in some fashion.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney says that Obama would “rather spend the money on food stamps than he would on a strong military and support for our troops”, believing that “somehow, a strong America, well equipped, with a strong military, is a danger to international peace and stability.”
If one does not learn from history, as a sage once noted, you are likely to have to repeat it.
Nothing good can come of this.

Obama: Democrats Must Reclaim the Word ‘Freedom’ from Republicans
http://www.tpnn.com/2014/03/03/obama-democrats-must-reclaim-the-word-freedom-from-republicans/
March 3, 2014 By Greg Campbell
Because nothing says “freedom” like forcing people to purchase a product or otherwise be punished…
The Democrat Party has trouble with the concept of freedom. While so many praise the concept of liberty, so often, the Democrats in power focus attention on more regulation, more taxes, more laws- overall, more constraints. They justify this mantra as a function of the modern world and pretend that more government is the answer. They seldom reference freedom because the Democrat agenda is so-often at-odds with it.
President Obama is looking to change that. Speaking to Democrats on Friday night, Obama attempted to rally the audience by suggesting that they should try to reclaim the word “freedom” from Republicans.
Speaking to fellow Democrats, Obama announced,
“As Democrats, we’ve let the other side define the word ‘freedom’ for too long.”
Freedom, Obama claimed, is about having health insurance.
“Freedom is the peace of mind of knowing that if you got sick, you won’t lose everything,” he stated. “Freedom is the ability to change jobs and start a new business, chase a new idea without fear of losing your health insurance.”
President Obama and his band of Democrats have continually hailed the disastrous CBO report as good news. The CBO reported that Obamacare would cost 2 million jobs within ten years and force 6 to 7 million people to lose health insurance options that otherwise would have been present if the law had never passed.
Obama and Democrats have worked feverishly to spin the news, claiming that Obamacare allows people to move freely within the job market, unafraid of changing (or losing) jobs that were tied to employer-provided healthcare insurance.
Of course, the position falls apart with even mild scrutiny as it is not a blessing that millions more will be out of work thanks to Obamacare.
Obama touted economic reforms that have had a disastrous effect on the banking industry.
“Freedom is signing for that new home and knowing it can’t be taken from you because you actually understand what you’re signing,” he said. “Freedom is getting that new credit card and knowing the stakes and understanding how you’re going to manage it; enrolling in college and knowing what you’ll owe once you graduate.”
Obama mentioned immigration, saying,
“Freedom is the knowledge that your future in this country is secure; you’re not going to be treated like a second-class person once we fix our broken immigration system. That’s freedom.”
“So we’re not ceding that word… That’s the choice we face right now — opportunity for a few, or opportunity for all,” he explained.
Obama’s assertion that Democrats are pro-freedom is as absurd as Ted Nugent saying he’s pro-gun control.
Democrats have firmly committed to crusading for big government, the antithesis of freedom. They have committed to this line of thinking and the choice for Americans has become, “Do you want more freedom, but more responsibility, too? Or do you want government to control our lives, but mitigate your commitment to personal responsibility?”
Freedom is not a gimmick, a word to just say because it sounds nice. Either Democrats are committed to freedom, or they are not.

U.S. Military Hires Muslim Brotherhood-tied Chaplains
If the US military doesn’t know better, then who are we to trust with our defense? Ourselves. Remember that.
There have been over 22,000 deadly Islamic attacks since 9/11 — each one with imprimatur of a Muslim cleric. You would have thought Anwar Awlaki, Pentagon darling and leading jihad cleric, might have taught the Department of Defense a thing or two.
“U.S. Military Hires Chaplains from Muslim Brotherhood Entity,”By Creeping via Ryan Mauro, February 28, 2014
As Obama plans to reduce the size of the military, he’s simultaneously increasing imams in the military.
The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, is proudly announcing that the U.S. military is again using their chaplains for active-duty service after a 15-year lull.
ISNA has a well-documented extremist history. In 1991, the Muslim Brotherhood listed ISNA as one of its main fronts. Declassified FBI memos said ISNA is a component of the Muslim Brotherhood, who sees its “work in America as a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within.”
In 2007, the U.S. government labeled ISNA a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity and an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism-financing trial involving the Holy Land Foundation funneling money to Hamas. The label was upheld in 2009 because of “ample” evidence linking ISNA to Hamas. Last year, ISNA’s Canadian affiliate lost its status as a charity because of its accounting discrepancies and links to Pakistani terrorists.
…
Here’s what’s really “problematic”: The U.S. government says ISNA is a Muslim Brotherhood entity and labeled it an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism trial. That same government is using ISNA to pick military chaplains and is a top outreach partner of the U.S. government.

Muslim barber refuses to cut hair of lesbian: Whose rights trump whose?
http://libertyunyielding.com/2014/03/02/muslim-barber-refuses-cut-hair-lesbian-whose-rights-trump-whose/#vt2GXgrsz8c7st41.99

Being a believer in all -isms can get hairy at times. Take as an illustration a case reported in the Toronto Sun by Ezra Levant:
So a lesbian walks into a Muslim barbershop, and asks for a “businessmen’s haircut”.
It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it really happened, and now a government agency called the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario will hear her complaint.
Faith McGregor is the lesbian who doesn’t like the girly cuts that they do at a salon. She wants the boy’s hairdo.
Omar Mahrouk is the owner of the Terminal Barber Shop in Toronto. He follows Shariah law, so he thinks women have cooties. As Mahrouk and the other barbers there say, they don’t believe in touching women other than their own wives.
The incident occurred in Canada in November 2012, but it could easily happen here and now. Let’s take a state at random — say Arizona — and graft on the same scenario. Gay rights activists usually tend to be protectors of adherents to America’s lone “diverse” religion, Islam, so where do their sympathies lie?
This question is a real head scratcher in Canada, which passed a Multiculturalism Act in 1988, paving the way for an influx of immigrants with medieval attitudes toward second-class citizens (read: women and gays). Faith McGregor belongs to both groups.
How to resolve this this “human rights” impasse? Levant envisions a hierarchy similar to the one found in the game of poker, except in this case based on some ad hoc notion of degrees of political correctness. He quips:
A white, Christian male has the lowest hand — it’s like he’s got just one high card, maybe an ace. So almost everyone trumps him.
A white woman is just a bit higher — like a pair of twos. Enough to beat a white man, but not much more.
A gay man is like having two pairs in poker.
A gay woman — a lesbian like McGregor — is like having three of a kind.
A black lesbian is a full house — pretty tough to beat.
Unless she’s also in a wheelchair, which means she’s pretty much a straight flush.
The only person who could trump that would be a royal flush. If the late Sammy Davis Jr. — who was black, Jewish and half-blind — were to convert to Islam and discover he was 1/64th Aboriginal.
So which is a better hand: A lesbian who wants a haircut or a Muslim who doesn’t want to give it to her?
Joking aside, when government attempts to decide which protected class of citizens is more aggrieved in cases like this, they run into trouble. The only “out” is to look the other way, which is what liberals have been doing here for years. The question of tolerance for one protected group over another arose during the murder trial of George Zimmerman, when the prosecution’s star witness Rachel Jeantel intimated under cross-examination that Trayvon Martin was anti-gay. Do you recall any marches by the Lambda Society or GLAAD denouncing blacks for their Stone Age view of homosexuality? Nah. Instead, liberals buried their heads in the sand, waiting till the news cycle moved on to other headlines. Hypocrisy much?

Islam: Religion of Punks
WWW.CLASHDAILY.COM
http://clashdaily.com/2014/03/islam-religion-punks/#CkEcLoHAZzh5lIrB.99
By Pete Parker / 3 March 2014
One only has to give a cursory view of the headlines to understand that Islam is a draconian doctrine constructed on the unhinged hatred of Jews, Christians and women. And its male adherents (better known as jihadists) are nothing more than a herd of murderous punks who revel at such macabre undertakings as genital mutilation and mass beheadings.
Now comes word from our friends at Bare Naked Islam that a rebel group fighting in Syria know as The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) has just issued the Christian community of Raqqa an ultimatum: Pay a high tax (jizya), or die. (Sharia law demands that all non-Muslims living under Islamic authority must pay a “jizya“, or face the wrath of Allah’s sword.)
As if the tax ultimatum facing the Christians of Raqqa isn’t bad enough–the ISIS has also decreed that the ringing of church bells and public praying is strictly prohibited.
Furthermore, the ISIS has stripped all Christians of there personal weapons–rendering them completely helpless.
These vile tactics are endemic of a doctrine that was spawned in the convoluted mind of a 7th century man possessed with a voracious appetite for torture, rape and murder.
That man, of course–was the Prophet Mohammed.
(Rather, Mohammed CLAIMED to be a prophet. He made it up as he went along, just like all other false religions. Jerry Broussard)
And, according to Islamic scholars–Mohammed would often wax euphoric while reducing Christians to bloody piles of hacked-up meat.
But, of course–all of this means nothing to the current occupant of the White House. After all–he’s financing the rebels with our tax dollars.
That’s right–he’s financing the very same rebels who (just last year) cut the heart out of a 9 year old girl and then proceeded to eat it in front of her family.
And what crime did this unsullied child commit? She professed her Christian faith.
With thousands of Syrian Christians already slaughtered by rebel forces–it doesn’t look good for the followers of Christ in Raqqa.
And how could it? After all–they are at the mercy of Islam: The religion of punks.

Inside the Beltway: The put up or shut up moment
Anyone out there think that Putin gives a second thought about Obama’s response to anything? The Lyin’ King has reduced the United States to less than a Third World nation that uses slingshots as defensive weapons, and void of offensive might.
The following report is depressing, yet necessary to know and understand. Putin has no respect for President Obama, Secretary of State, John Kerry, America’s Department of Defense or what anyone thinks. Europe certainly does not have anyone, or collectively, that Putin should be concerned with. No one can, or will stop him. Can you hear the Anti-Christ warming up?

-Question of the Day
Are Russia’s military actions in Ukraine an “uncontested arrival”?
With the help of an impatient news media, a global taste for drama and Russia’s provocative posturing in the Ukraine, the White House is now wedged in the put up or shut up position. Are we in a Cold War now? A Cool War? Maybe it’s just tepid.
War and the rumors of war, like relationships, are complicated these days. Choices are many. Threats of economic sanctions, stern warnings and the withdrawal of diplomatic officials may or may not dissuade Russian President Vladimir Putin. Blunt force is effective, but not always efficient.
The mere suggestion of blunt force and dire consequences, however, has been helpful in the past. Recall that strategic deterrence and the old Strategic Air Command’s “peace through strength” motto persevered in difficult decades, back when Russia was the Soviet Union. But wait. There’s already some strategic deterrence afoot. Consider that when Mr. Putin simply parks a warship in Cuba or assembles black-clad, unidentified troops somewhere, he gets much press, and worries challengers plenty. The Russian president is tactically image-minded: Mr. Putin shaped the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sochi Olympics, which proved to be both global spectacle and handy political vehicle.
Another factor. A little saber rattling goes a long way: It is instantly magnified in the press, and even more so on social media. Why, imagine if Hollywood were to craft a buzzworthy, tweetable message that America’s arsenal and resolve are fully intact. So uh, look out.
“Putin has been very lucky both in his domestic and foreign endeavors, in part because of objective factors — when he took over as acting president in 1999, a barrel of crude averaged around $17 a barrel — and in large measure because his opponents, at home and abroad, were politically or economically handicapped,” points out Leon Aron, director of Russian Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, in an op-ed for CNN.
“As a result, Putin has trusted his luck and his smarts while counting on his opponents’ weaknesses. This means he has operated in accordance with Napoleon’s principle: On s’engage and puis on voit, which I would translate as ‘First get into a fight, and then decide what to do.’”
Journalists and pundits are already busy crafting the narrative of a possible war, a dress rehearsal, a quagmire, or spat. A sampling of headlines in the last 24 hours: “Who blinks first?” (Reuters); “Make Russia pay? It’s not so simple” (New York Times); “Diplomatic language on Ukraine is short of specifics” (CNN); “Ruble set to weaken” (Businessweek); “Muscovites rally for and against Russia’s move into Ukraine” (Wall Street Journal); “Ukraine’s lesson for Russia” (The Daily Beast); “Ukraine is hopeless but not serious” (PJ Media); and “Why Russia no longer fears the West” (Politico).
One Man’s Perspective of the movie, “The Son of God”
http://www.clashdaily.com
Before any of you start looking for rocks, please hear me out.
If you remember “Touched by an Angel”, you will remember the theological nightmare that show preached. I have noticed that everything Roma Downey and Mark Bernett make regarding the Bible, has serious theological problems. Jill will tell you that I am a serious critic of anything, or anyone who misrepresents the Word of God. Drives her nuts.
When I read this man’s review of the movie, it confirmed my suspicions of the “The Son of God”. Considering the special that Hannity did, and the people who were gushing over the movie, further increased my suspicions.
Do what you want. I plan on staying away. I put the information about the author up front to explain the perspective he gives.

Son of God: The Greatest Story Somewhat Told
By John Kirkwood / 3 March 2014 / 55 Comments
The top three reasons not to see Son of God:
1. It was made by the same people that made The Bible mini-series.
2. They removed Satan from the movie because the Obamas complained.
3. Because a half-crazy, chain-smoking, recovering alcoholic can make a better movie about Jesus Christ than a cadre of New-Age, Deepok-Oprah occultists and shiny, happy evangellyfish.
To all my “good Christian” friends: I wonder how many of you know that this Jesus movie that your church is pushing and that you plan on taking your unsaved uncle to is put out by a bunch of new age, occult dipthongs. Roma Downey, who plays Mary, not only went to school for spiritism but she loves her some Eckhart Tolle, has co-written a book with the necromancer John Edward and even went on his show so that she could talk to her dead mother.
“I get my own selections [on the radio in the car] — books on tape by Eckhart Tolle, Tony Robbins,” said Downey. “My husband says I’m so self-realized I’m practically levitating.” I know, sounds just like your pastor’s wife, right? When she’s not channeling Oprah’s New-Age guru in her car, Downey is going to psychics to summon the dead – a levitating, self-realized disciple of . . . Christ?
The great offense of Son of God is that there is no offense. In fact, it’s so sterile that you end up wondering just why they bothered to crucify this Jesus at all; he was about as threatening as a window-shopping Ashton Kutcher in his capris and flip-flops.
This Jesus is no longer the “man of sorrows,” so comely that the world wouldn’t recognize him, so non-descript that he had to be betrayed by a kiss; he’s the shiny-happy, smiling and waving Messiah, like Russell Brand walking the red carpet at Cannes! There is no emotional attachment in this portrayal at all. You don’t even feel it when Mary holds her son in the compulsory “La Pieta” pose at the foot of the cross. It feels contrived, in an after school special type of a way.
A flat, sanitized Christ, a disjointed narrative with a fuzzy gospel will hardly summon the demons in protest, and Son of God was so palatable that even the most ardent critic of the New Testament account loved it.
Abraham Foxman said that Son of God will be, “the antidote to the poison that Passion of the Christ became.” Foxman, the National Director of the Anti-Defamation League went on to say, “It’s almost a disservice to Son of God to compare the two.” And on that we completely agree.
The Passion of the Christ has more integrity of message and authenticity in its trailer, than Son of God has in total. Comparing the two is like comparing the Statue of Liberty to that pudgy tweener holding the cheeseburger outside of the “Big Boy.”
Foxman went on to predict that Son of God could replace Passion of the Christ as the go-to movie for films about the life and death of Christ. Yeah, and Miley Cyrus will go on to replace Celine Dion as the epitome of class and talent in the music world.
SINS OF OMISSION That Abe Foxman loved it is both rich in irony and kind of foolish because in this whitewashed, no sharp corners story of the Christ it was the “bitter Jews” alone that manipulated the death of Christ and not the perceived checkmate of the epic battle between Diablo and Christ, between “thy seed and her seed.” Satan never enters Judas because Satan never enters at all; he was removed on order of the Roman Prefect, Pontius Obama.
Deleting the “Prince of the Power of the Air” is not only an outrageous metaphor in regard to spiritual veracity; it is akin to casting Othello without Iago, or Faust without Mephistopheles. Imagine sitting through Star Wars with no Darth Vader; only Luke for two hours. And that may be why it was such a snoozer. How do you make the war between God and Satan a yawner? Take the deeper conflict out; as if Jesus was only battling the Harper Valley PTA.
Can you truly tell the story of the Son of God and leave the Devil on the cutting room floor?
The true sin of the movie is not what it put in but what it left out and while Satan may have been the most glaring omission, the full gospel was another. The idea that the death of Christ was more than martyrdom was whitewashed. At the Last Supper there is bread and there is wine and hippy Jesus breaks the bread and says “This is my body,” and he pours the wine and says, “This is my blood,” but noticeably missing is the explanatory conclusion of what that means, – [my blood] “which is shed for many, for the remission of sins.”
Sin actually barely makes its presence known. Other than the sins forgiven the crippled man that incites the ire of the Pharisees, “sin” exits stage left. The problem of evil is also absent. Although some are cruel and most are stupid in Son of God, no one is really evil. People, including Judas, are merely misguided. Judas comes off as almost noble. With no Satan, no sin and you guessed it, no Hell – not much need for a savior.
The treatment of John 14:6 was similar to our president always leaving “Under God” out when he quotes The Declaration. Time after time, Jesus would say “I am the way, the truth and the life,” but he would always stop short of the conclusion, “No one comes to the Father but by me.”
Were the makers of this film embarrassed about the exclusivity of Jesus Christ and his divine claim?
Yet, that claim is the exclusive nature of the gospel – that there is no other name under Heaven that can bring salvation. The expansive offer of salvation from Jesus Christ to the lost has an exclusionary clause – “No one comes to the Father but by me.” All other gods and all other paths will lead to destruction!
Is it too much to ask of a movie supposedly about the life and death of Jesus Christ that we actually give the reason and the claim that the man made himself, or did the Obamas ban that too? Maybe Oprah or Eckhart Tolle asked for that to be removed.
The old Nintendo “Quit Screen” read, “Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost,” and this, my friend, is twice the witness that you’ll find in Son of God. An archaic children’s video game console is more doctrinally sound and spiritually courageous than the gospel according to Mark and Roma.
A Jewish sage? – Sure. A martyr? – Most assuredly. A great moral teacher? – But of course. Though, the man who speaks more of sin, spiritual death and Hell than any other figure in the gospels is remarkably silent about those things in the movie based on his life and work.
As C.S. Lewis so elegantly put it, “We may note in passing that He was never regarded as a great moral teacher. He did not produce that effect on any of the people who actually met Him. He produced mainly three effects – Hatred – Terror – Adoration. There was no trace of people expressing mild approval.”
As for staying power, Son of God is a one-fer. No one will stop back for day-old cotton candy. While I saw The Passion of the Christ three times at the theater and own it both in Blu-Ray and digital, I will never drop another dime on Son of God. The Gospel according to Burnett & Downey has all the sweep and majesty of a stick of Juicy Fruit gum – forty seconds in.
But if you prefer Lite-Brite to the Aurora Borealis or Spaghettios to Del Posto’s Veal Agnolotti with Sugo Finto, then Son of God is just for you. You’ll be totally self-realized!

Obama is Disarming America
http://eaglerising.com/4923/obama-disarming-america/#eH7Uxm1fR4m3vW84.99
By Stephen Bowers / 1 March 2014
Watching Obama’s foreign policy minion Chuck Hagel lecture us about how the Defense budget needs to be cut and the world is a different place and American military power is no longer the mightiest in the world, etc. blah blah blah …was so dull and predictable that I gave up early and switched the channel elsewhere. I’m not even sure exactly what he said, but his preliminary comments told me what was coming and if his remarks did not include the above noted doom and gloom, anti-American stuff, I would be apologetic …and shocked. It’s always the same baloney from these Administration/Liberal/Establishment/Commie types. America is “over.” It’s so dull and predictable. Liberals and RINOS don’t really need to speak. They can just show up and everyone else knows what they are going to say. So …please spare us the tedium. Unless they are going to favor us with a real gem of stupidity…for instance…”We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it” …I wish they’d clam up! I know what they’re going to tell us…and I don’t care.
Hagel’s scripted remarks, I assumed before I switched over to something far more enlightening (like The Cooking Channel), were simply more of the standard socialist PARTY LINE. If I hadn’t switched over to Alton Brown, Hagel would have put me into a deep funk.
The cartoon below is a bit disjointed. I drew it while in a doctor’s waiting room, which caused the funk to deepen. I had been thinking about the specious wisdom of “defense cuts” in the weird world we now inhabit. I was recalling stories I heard as a kid about how guys trained with broomsticks instead of rifles around the beginning of WW II because the powers that were (and are no more), who ran our government then, had ignored the antics of tyrants in Italy, Germany and Imperial Japan and allowed our military to go into mothballs. Not enough rifles to go around. Why should Defense …or rather, The Department of War…have any rifles laying around? Who needed them? After all, FDR’s considered opinion of Hitler was that he was a “kook.” With the advantage of hindsight and 50,000,000 corpses in our rear view mirror, maybe we can see that FDR’s impression of the tyrants of his age was a little off. Maybe we …and definitely those 50,000,000 …would have been better off if FDR had pulled his head out and smelled the coffee.
It occurs to me that “kooks” who write autobiographies while young and loudly, expound their wacky utopian aspirations for the country/world and somehow assume positions of power …by legitimate means, such as preying on the selfish and bitter hopes of an unenlightened electorate (I’m talking about Hitler, not someone closer to home), may be farther ’round the bend than mere “kookiness.”
They should be watched.
The cartoon was not quite fully baked (but I kept drawing because I liked the alligator). I showed it to my doctor after he gave me some good news (the funk began to fade). He made some polite remark. Then he told me how his two young sons had recently read Luttrell’s book, “Sole Survivor.” They both want to be Navy Seals as a result. One is only twelve. It was good to hear about kids who aren’t “pumping” their resume in second grade and hoping to bypass living in Mom’s basement until they figure out how to be the next “Google CEO Billionaire Guy.” Whether they are going to really serve their country and pay for freedom or just talking tough like boys will do, it was refreshing to hear about someone willing to sacrifice (even mere boys) to make things better instead of hearing Hagel’s pathetic moaning. Or worse, Pelosi’s dumb remarks. As I think on it, we didn’t really need to hear Pelosi’s dumb comment either. We should have known what she was going to say. Only a moron would ever believe the people in Congress actually read that stuff they “author” and vote on.
Hopefully Doc’s sons won’t have to fill a future need for heroes, but just in case, let’s build those rifles so they won’t get stuck pointing broomsticks at practice targets …or real bad guys

Telling: MSNBC Calls Obama’s Speech “The King’s Speech”

February 28, 2014 By Greg Campbell
On Friday, as MSNBC pundits discussed President Obama’s speech to the DNC, MSNBC dropped any pretense of legitimate journalism and labelled it “The King’s Speech” in a banner on the bottom.Immediately after the segment, Americans, having long-ago rejected being ruled by a king, took to Twitter to vent their outrage. The Washington Free Beacon immediately tweeted;<!–

Obama and Hagel have surrendered our military strength
http://allenbwest.com/2014/02/obama-hagel-surrendered-military-strength/#243ApXoOJMPBE8GT.99
Written by Allen West on February 28, 2014
This week our president and secretary of defense — correct that to manager of appeasement — surrendered the military strength of the United States. This week Obama and Hagel told the enemies of liberty and freedom that it is open season. These two mental leprechauns have obviously never read the book by Niccolo Machiavelli, “The Prince” nor Sun Tzu’s “Art of War”. I’m sure they’ve never read Clausewitz or Jomini. So these astute fellas unilaterally decide that even in the face of a more dangerous world, we shall shrink our military capacity.
All those progressive socialist experts say we don’t need a big military. We can use our technology. To that I will respond that the most highly technical weapon on the battlefield is the individual well-trained warrior. We have been down this road before in America, as history does indeed repeat itself for those who fail to learn from it.
After World War I we decimated our military strength — true to form others increased theirs — namely Germany and Japan. World War II came about because belligerent Nations took the initiative. Our first major combat forays in World War II were not stellar: Coral Sea, Corrigedor, and Kasserine Pass.
After World War II we decimated our forces to the delight of the Soviets and their proxy, North Korea. Our first foray into the ground combat environment of the Korean peninsula was the utter destruction of US Army Task Force Smith. Even General MacArthur’s Inchon operation had to be delayed because only five years after World War II our Pacific theater operations did no have enough Marines and amphibious assault landing craft — simply unbelievable.
We witnessed a reduction in forces (RIF) after Operation Desert Shield/Storm and saw troop deployments and commitments increase.
I do not believe in, nor support, nation-building campaigns. I prefer a US Military that is based on power projection and strike operations, not a forward deployed force. We must streamline our acquisition process as it takes far too long to introduce new weapons systems. We should also examine SLEP (service life extension programs) before embarking upon massive billion dollar new systems. The A-10 platform that Hagel wants to cut is just as viable today as ever as a close air support system against massed Islamic terrorist formations.
Obama stated we are pivoting away from the Middle East — yay for Iran, Turkey, and the Muslim Brotherhood — and focusing on the Pacific Rim. However, we have shrunk from a 570 warship Navy to one of 283 heading to 230. I don’t believe the oceans have shrunk. Yet we see China expanding its naval capability — remember the last time an Asian nation built up its maritime force? Didn’t end well for the US.
Obama and Hagel provide no strategic vision for the 21st century battlefield, and running away is not an effective maneuver. What type of force mix shall we have allocated to our geographic AORs (CENTCOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, PACOM, SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM)? Where gaps exist we shall be exploited.
Is Obama doing this intentionally? There can be no other answer than yes. Why? Because just like Bill Clinton, spending on domestic welfare nanny-state programs is more important to progressive socialists — after all, they want power, they need votes.
Friday, I spoke at Faith Middle School at Ft. Benning Georgia to students in the 6th and 8th grades. Many of those kids had parents who were deployed or had been deployed. I looked into the eyes of those kids who are truly little heroes, giving up their moms and dads to serve and protect our Republic. I talked to them about looking my own two daughters in the eye and having to say those tough words, good bye.
I wonder if Obama and Hagel have the character to stand before those kids and tell them their Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, and Coast Guardsman matter not? Could he look those kids in the eye and tell them “Peace through Strength” is a dumb concept and that the world is safer without your parents out there scaring people? Could he look those kids in the eyes and tell them their future will be more dangerous and less secure?
Sadly, the answer is no, he could. Because Obama lacks integrity, character, and moral courage and finds it easy to look in your eyes and lie — even to children of our warriors. The American flag is being lowered and replaced with a white flag. But I for one will never surrender, never give up.
Palin Mocked in 2008 for Warning Putin May Invade Ukraine if Obama Elected

Senator Barack Obama were elected president, his “indecision” and “moral equivalence” may encourage Russia’s Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.Palin said then:
After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.
For those comments, she was mocked by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine and its editor Blake Hounshell, who now is one of the editors of Politico magazine.
In light of recent events in Ukraine and concerns that Russia is getting its troops ready to cross the border into the neighboring nation, nobody seems to be laughing at or dismissing those comments now.
Hounshell wrote then that Palin’s comments were “strange” and “this is an extremely far-fetched scenario.”
“And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine’s pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don’t see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel,” Hounshell dismissively wrote.
Palin made her remarks on the stump after Obama’s running mate Joe Biden warned Obama supporters to “gird your loins” if Obama is elected because international leaders may test or try to take advantage of him.
