California Gov. Gavin Newsom promised to use the power of the state to overturn a decision by a local school board to reject a social studies book that taught about a gay political activist. Newsom released a video of himself promising that the state of California would purchase the social studies books and send them to Temecula, a city in southern California east of Los Angeles.

“A school board in Temecula decided to reject a textbook because it mentioned Harvey Milk. CA is stepping in. We’re going to purchase the book for these students—the same one that hundreds of thousands of kids are already using,” the Democrat tweeted.

“If these extremist school board members won’t do their job, we will — and fine them for their incompetence,” he added.

Temecula Valley Unified District governing board members said they did not object to Milk being included as part of the curriculum because he was gay but because he had admitted to having a relationship with a 16-year-old when he was in his 30s. Defenders of the gay rights activist argue that at the time, 16 years was the age of consent in many states.

Politico reported that Democrats are secretly trying to pass a bill that would fine school districts that rejected curriculum aligned with state standards, including those related to “inclusive and diverse perspectives.” The bill is opposed by the California School Boards Association.

Opponents of the social study book made their arguments at an event in June.

“As a father, I find it morally reprehensible to include someone in the content of [kindergarten through fifth grade] curriculum that was a known pedophile,” said Temecula Valley School Board member Danny Gonzalez.

“I would express the same sentiments at any adult being offered as an example in K through 5 textbooks had admitted to a sexual relationship with a minor, that is the source of my objection to his example,” said Temecula Valley School Board President Dr. Joseph Komrosky, “not his sexual orientation.”

Komrosky also responded to Newsom’s statement and claimed that he had received a threat as a result.

“Governor Newsom, I’m glad that I have your attention,” Komrosky said, according to KTLA-TV. “Now you have mine, as I received my first death threat after your tweet.”

California to pay $1.35M to settle Harvest Rock Church lawsuit against gathering restrictions

California will have to pay over $1 million in legal fees and attorney costs as part of a settlement reached with Harvest Rock Church over litigation surrounding the state’s lockdown rules.

Last year, Harvest Rock and other ministries sued Gov. Gavin Newsom over a coronavirus pandemic lockdown order limiting the size and scope of worship gatherings they argued violated their religious freedom. U.S. District Court Judge Jesus G. Bernal issued an order last week requiring the state to pay the plaintiffs $1.35 million in attorney’s fees and legal costs incurred in the case. The order also prohibited unfair treatment of houses of worship in emergency orders, explaining that the state government could “impose capacity or numerical restrictions on religious worship services and gatherings at places of worship that are either identical to, or at least as favorable as, the restrictions imposed on other similar gatherings of similar risk.”

“This Order does not prohibit the State from issuing recommendations, best practices, precautions, or other measures, as long as such promulgations make clear to the public that they are voluntary and not enforceable, continued the order.

Liberty Counsel Chairman Mat Staver, whose legal nonprofit represented Harvest Rock, said in a statement released Monday that “Newsom has now been permanently quarantined and may not violate the First Amendment rights of churches and places of worship again.”

“We are grateful for Pastor Ché Ahn, Harvest Rock Church, and Harvest International Ministry. Pastor Ahn’s leadership and courage has toppled the tyranny and freed every pastor and church in California,” he added.

Last July, Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry, which includes multiple member churches, filed legal challenges to California’s gathering restrictions. A three-judge panel from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled 2-1 against Harvest Rock last October, concluding that the limits were justified.

“The Orders apply the same restrictions to worship services as they do to other indoor congregate events, such as lectures and movie theaters,” the court majority argued. “Some congregate activities are completely prohibited in every county, such as attending concerts and spectating sporting events.”

But in December, the U.S. Supreme Court granted injunctive relief for Harvest Rock, in light of the court’s 5-4 ruling in Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn v. Cuomo.

In April, amid various legal challenges to the state restrictions, California lifted rules requiring houses of worship to adhere to capacity limits, changing the standards on places of worship from “mandatory” to “strongly recommended.”

“In response to recent judicial rulings, effective immediately, location and capacity limits on places of worship are not mandatory but are strongly recommended,” a government website explained. “The linked guidance is in the process of being updated. All other restrictions in the guidance remain in place.”

Sadly, this is NOT a Joke!

You all need to know that the CA Legislative Year Closed on Friday.  All the Representatives went home exhausted and the damage was done.
So, what did they accomplish during this high-pressure year in Sacramento?

This is an update today on the progressive Democrats’ continued destruction of California.  The ones who would not endorse Dianne Feinstein, because she is not sufficiently Socialist extreme.
By the way, we are already deemed the worst state for businesses.
Here are some of the highlights of this session:
  • Passed Cap-n-Trade Tax which will increase gas 0.63 to 0.93 cents a gallon change and the taxes that go with it. So do the math projection … (0.12 + 0.63 = 075/gallon + current $3.10/gallon = $3.85/gallon).
  • Proposed increase on a new tax.  Every residence will pay for tap water!
  • A $3.46B parks bond to pay for parks in “disadvantaged communities”.  The debt service alone will be over $200 million a year. The good news is some money goes to help fix the Salton Sea which should have always been a State responsibility!
  • Law to release any lifer (murder, rape, child molestation, etc.) who is 60 years old and has already spent 25 years in prison! Charles Manson would have qualified if he just waited a few months before dying; and the Melendez brothers, who murdered their parents could be released in about 12 years? Victims?  What victims?
  • A new $50 charge on all residents living in a mobile home parks to address “living condition enforcement” in those parks? What the hell does that mean?  As if having to live in a mobile home park isn’t bad enough? Regressive tax on the poor?
  • We picked an official dinosaur for the State of California!  Really?
  • Requires Tesla to either unionize with the United Auto Workers Union, or forfeit State incentives to buy their electric cars! Maybe political blackmail doesn’t count as breaking any law.  Unions are loving it. “Watch out solar companies.  They may be coming after you next!”  Hang tight Elon!
  • Reduce from a felony to a misdemeanor the purposeful intent to transmit the AIDS virus to an unknowing partner.
  • Give preferential treatment to prisoners convicted of serious crimes, who are less than 25 years old. Why? Because their brains are not mature enough to understand right from wrong. Whaaat?
  • A bill to require our true sex be omitted from driver’s licenses? Whaaat?
  • Free legal services for illegal immigrants.  Of course!
  • Establish safe “injection zones” … run by a new government bureaucracy … to oversee people injecting heroin!

Yep, it all passed!

You may consider sharing this so that ALL Californians can be proud of our elected officials.

PLEASE. NO PUSHING AND SHOVING AS YOU FLEE THE STATE!!!!!. Let’s start the state break-up process NOW!

Racist California College Students Demand Censorship of Conservative Speakers, Deny “Truth” Exists

Reported  By Andrew West | April 19, 2017

california

Only in the state of California could a story such as this even occur, as racist college students attack the First Amendment, conservatives, and the truth all at the same time.

California itself is in the middle of an existential crisis of identity.  The liberal stronghold has been in the news far more in recent weeks than ever before, as left-leaning fascist millennials continue to tear down anyone who dare opposed their progressive viewpoints, going so far as to suggest that handguns should be carried by anti-Trump protestors in the state.

The latest nonsense to come slithering out of the Bear Republic is absolutely infuriating, as a group of leftists student have demanded that Pomona College take “action” against a conservative author scheduled to speak on campus, claiming that the “truth” is no longer an objective concept.

“Students at Pomona College in California stated in a letter to outgoing President David Oxtoby that the truth is a ‘myth’ and ‘white supremacist concept’ after Oxtoby reaffirmed the college‘s commitment to free speech, the Claremont Independent reported. These same students also demanded that the college take ‘action’ against journalists who work at the Independent.

“The Claremont Independent is a conservative student paper for the Claremont Colleges consortium – of which Pomona College is a member – and is connected to the conservative Leadership Institute.

“Three self-identified black students wrote the letter after Oxtoby sent an email in April that reiterated ‘the exercise of free speech and academic freedom’ after protesters blocked the exits to Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum  in order to shut down a scheduled lecture by Heather Mac Donald, a Black Lives Matter critic.”

Not only did the students attempt to censor the scheduled speaker, it turns out that they physically confronted those who wished to attend the event, including faculty members.

Then, these menaces to freedom took it a step further in their criticisms.

“The students then wrote that there is no such thing as truth, and that this “Euro-West” concept has often be used to “silence oppressed peoples.”

“‘Historically, white supremacy has venerated the idea of objectivity, and wielded a dichotomy of “subjectivity vs. objectivity” as a means of silencing oppressed peoples. The idea that there is a single truth–”the Truth”–is a construct of the Euro-West that is deeply rooted in the Enlightenment, which was a movement that also described Black and Brown people as both subhuman and impervious to pain. This construction is a myth and white supremacy, imperialism, colonization, capitalism, and the United States of America are all of its progeny. The idea that the truth is an entity for which we must search, in matters that endanger our abilities to exist in open spaces, is an attempt to silence oppressed peoples.’

“After claiming that students were right to attempt to silence Mac Donald, whom they labeled ‘a fascist, a white supremacist, a warhawk, a transphobe, a queerphobe, a classist, and ignorant of interlocking systems of domination that produce the lethal conditions under which oppressed peoples are forced to live,’ the students demanded that Oxtoby apologize for his email promoting free speech.”

As the left continues to churn out these anti-freedom diatribes, they are consistently attempting to pin “fascism” on the conservatives of America.  The truth of the matter is, however, that these leftists are redefining fascism in their actions.  Whereas the idea once related merely to race and nationality, it is becoming more and more apparent that the left is replacing those outdated ideas with “political belief”, and themselves are attempting to create an authoritarian state based on their leftist doctrine.

The new fascism is purely a liberal construct.

California Values Six – Count ‘Em – Six Fish More Than 175,000 People

CALIFORNIA VOTER ALERT
Governmental Malpractice
According to environmentalists, SIX of these are worth FAR more than nearly 175,000 people! Consider yourself insulted.

According to environmentalists, SIX of these are worth FAR more than nearly 175,000 people! Consider yourself insulted.

We’re not talking about six species of fish here. We are talking about SIX fish in total

By Dr. Fred

Everywhere you look these days, there are tremendous signs of decay, corruption, and failure throughout the United States. If we simply consider large cities alone, every city that has been controlled by leftists shows serious signs of poverty and decay. Look at Detroit, Oakland, parts of Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City where it appears like these cities have literally been abandoned. In reality and in many ways, they have been.

But then we have the entire state of California, which also appears as though it has been abandoned by thinking people (well, they DID elect Jerry Brown – TWICE!), left to those who can think no more logically than a person addicted to crack. All they want is their next “fix” and it doesn’t matter how they get it. They simply need to get it.

For the politicians who have been running what used to be called the “Golden State,” the same downward trend exists and has become thoroughly entrenched throughout the state. The people in control need their “fix,” which for them, means staying in power; remaining in control. It doesn’t matter that their control results in destroying the landscape and economy of California by over regulation so that, as one example, water is becoming such a precious commodity that if nothing tangible is done, we may well have what appears to be a West Coast version of Mad Max. Instead of gas wars though, the wars will be over water. Think of what the price of water will cost on the black market. I shudder.

The saddest part of all of this is that it could have been so readily avoided. But today’s politician doesn’t think logically or ahead. They only respond to special interest groups. These groups usually only care about one thing – their specific agenda. Radical environmentalists long ago gained enough power to be able to drag politicians to their side of the table. If the politicians didn’t play ball, they might be unseated. So, they play. How do you think people like Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer (retiring – FINALLY!), and a plethora of other left winger politicians have managed to stay in power? You know the answer as well as I do.

Poor Richard’s News is reporting that the people in control of California’s water polices have decided that 175,000 human beings aren’t even worth six fish. As the article points out, we’re not talking about six species of fish here. We are talking about SIX fish in total.

Essentially, here is what is happening.

“National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS) only expects 29 out-migrating steelhead a year and that their plan was to release 30,000 acre feet by the end of April to help them reach the Delta.”

So what, you might ask? Well, if you’re asking that, you probably don’t live in California, where I spent 25 years until about five years ago when we decided it was best to pick up our lives, load them into the covered wagon and head east. When we arrived here to Georgia, one of my first stops after settling in was a gun shop (I’ve always hated California’s DOJ approved gun list). While at the gun shop, I mentioned that we had just recently relocated from California. The gentleman behind the counter stuck out his hand and brightly proclaimed, “Welcome to the United States of America!” But I digress…

According to environmentalists, SIX of these are worth FAR more than nearly 175,000 people! Consider yourself insulted.

The problem appears to be that six Steelhead were a bit slow to migrate down to the Delta. In order to help out, so the Bureau of Reclamation ordered South San Joaquin Irrigation District and Oakdale Irrigation District to release some 15,000 acre feet of water to help these six Steelhead make it to the ocean.Liberalism a mental disorder 2

What this means is that the amount of water being released into the ocean because of SIX steelhead fish could have provided water for 174,301 PEOPLE for ONE year. If that 15,000 foot acre amount is added to the previous 30,000 feet acres of water released, that total amount of water would service the combined populations of the following cities:

  • Stockton

  • Lathrop

  • Ripon

  • Escalon

  • Tracy

  • Santa Barbara

That’s about 5 BILLION gallons of water! Are you as flabbergasted as I am about this and I don’t even live in California? But I have friends and family who do. I still care about that state.

You just learned that six Steelhead are more valuable than nearly 175,000 PEOPLE. It should make you severely angry, but anger alone is not going to get the job done. You have to oust these lifelong leftists who have set up for themselves a very sweet situation. They are in power and they don’t lack for anything because special interest groups want them to play ball with them. When they do, things are hunky-dory. They need to be voted out, period. Keep at it. Eventually, you’ll win.

But things are never easy in California because the left has had control for so long. The best way to start chipping away at things is at the local level, where you live. Find out who is on your city council and find out where they stand on the issues. What do they think about the water shortage? What are they going to do about it? Are they going to kowtow to Sacramento or are they willing to stand up TO the failed policies of Sacramento? If they won’t, then get someone who will do what is best for the citizens.cropped-freedoms-battle-with-heading.jpg

If these elected officials do things that are illegal, then citizens should get together and hire an attorney who can legally deal with the problem.

If you’ve been reading my articles for any length of time, you know how I feel about technocrats who are desperately trying to create a technocracy. Controlling things like water is all part of their plan. They wish to over regulate you so you are completely chained by policies that were created by technocrats. These aren’t even LAWS that we’re talking about, but POLICIES.

California is a perfect example of the abuse that occurs when technocrats are in charge. They use politicians to get what they want. They don’t care how it affects you. Their goal is to “save the planet” for future generations. The problem with that is how those regulations affect people living now.

Technocrats don’t care about you. They’re not interested. Their vision is so myopic that if someone died of thirst in cause of deathfront of them, they would simply step over the body and sing about how nature had taken its course. Their hypocrisy is on full display though when they believe that nature can’t deal with SIX fish. They believe they must give nature a helping hand by releasing thousands of foot acres of water for SIX fish, while thousands of people go without water. By the way, that’s “emotional virtue” (aka political correctness, aka Cultural Marxism), at work, which is based not on absolute truth, but on how people feel about things. Feelings change. Truth doesn’t.

Something needs to be done and to the people of California who honestly want beneficial change, my heart goes out to you. Hang in there. You may yet overcome.
