Imperial President ObamaOn Tuesday, author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza was sentenced for his supposed campaign finance violations and was, thankfully, able to avoid jail time for the infraction. The Obama regime likely hopes that D’Souza has learned his lesson: don’t dare criticize the president.

However, D’Souza’s prosecution was not just about D’Souza; it was about sending a message. Political dissent is not welcomed as a healthy aspect of our republic but, instead, is treated as a threat to this regime. Sure, this administration is not lining people up against a wall like Stalin did; however, the overall tactics remain the same: to break those who speak out against the regime.
D’Souza pled guilty in May to avoid harsher sentencing in his campaign finance case where he allegedly used straw donors to donate money to Republican Wendy Long in her failed bid for the U.S. Senate.
D’Souza’s plea agreement could have had him facing 10-16 months in jail, which is what prosecutors were hoping for. However, the author and overall thorn in the 2side of the Obama Administration received 5 years of probation on Tuesday and an additional eight months in a community confinement center which allows the author out for work during the day, but confined at night.
Eric HolderThe campaign against D’Souza is hardly surprising; the Obama Administration’s so-called Justice Department is headed by Attorney General Eric Holder- by far, the most-radical Attorney General this nation has ever endured. From freeing Black Panthers who threatened white voters to manipulating the legal system to overall states on the issue of gay marriage, Holder has been ruthless in his undermining of our legal system.
Further, this administration has waged war on political dissent in other ways. The IRS scandal still lingers on as the Obama Administration stonewalls to try and keep investigators from learning the whole truth. With missing hard drives and the intimidation of witnesses, the Obama regime is every bit as corrupt as the Mafia Dons of yesteryear.Different Free Speech Ideologies
obama- Facism yes we canAs the founder of TheTeaParty.net, the nation’s largest national Tea Party organization, we were at the receiving end of the sort of intimidation that has become standard in the Obama regime. We were harassed for years by intrusive questionnaires and stalling tactics by the IRS in order to diminish our efficacy.
As in the case with D’Souza, the campaign of harassment was not just about us; it was about deterring others from speaking up. We were lucky; we had the resources for lawyers and media contacts to shine a light on what was happening to us. But what of the mom and pop Tea Party groups that just wanted to make a difference in their communities? So many got steamrolled and so many never got started out of fear of a government that had grown intolerant of political dissent.
It is wonderful news that D’Souza will not see the inside of a cell. However, this is truly a sad day for our republic that it had come to this.
