On Wednesday, Speaker McCarthy and a bipartisan group of lawmakers met with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen at the Ronald Reagan Library in California. The meeting made McCarthy the most senior U.S. official to meet with the leader of Taiwan on U.S. soil in decades, according to Newsweek.

During the historic summit, McCarthy reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to strengthening relations with the island nation and support for Taiwan’s aim to remain democratic in the wake of increasing Chinese aggression.

“I felt our meeting today provided a greater peace and stability for the world. America’s support for the people of Taiwan will remain resolute, unwavering and bipartisan,” McCarthy said. Tsai echoed similar sentiments, saying, “To preserve peace, we must be strong” and “we are stronger when we are together.”

The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) — which claims Taiwan is Chinese territory — issued remarks on Thursday threatening to “take resolute measures” in response to Tsai and McCarthy’s alleged promotion of Taiwanese independence. Taiwan News reported the island’s national defense ministry tracked a People’s Liberation Army helicopter and two naval vessels in the waters surrounding Taiwan on Wednesday and Thursday.

Most egregiously, however, is the CCP’s attempt to “inspect” ships traveling through the Taiwan Strait. According to Reuters, “China’s Fujian maritime safety administration launched a three-day special joint patrol and inspection operation in the central and northern parts of the Taiwan Strait” on Wednesday that includes “moves to board ships.” Fujian is a southeastern Chinese province bordering the Taiwan Strait.

“The maritime safety authority in the southeastern Chinese province said … the operation included ‘on-site inspections’ on direct cargo ships and construction vessels on both sides of the Taiwan Strait ‘to ensure the safety of vessel navigation and ensure the safe and orderly operation of key projects on water,’” the report reads. Taiwan indicated it would not cooperate with the inspections.

Biden Helps China by Undercutting America

In the background of McCarthy’s bid to reaffirm U.S. support for Taiwanese sovereignty is the flailing presidency of Joe Biden, whose administration’s seemingly intentional bid to cripple America’s national security and economic stability is giving China leeway to expand its influence across the globe.

On Monday, NBC News reported the infamous Chinese spy balloon the Biden administration let drift across the continental United States earlier this year “was able to gather intelligence from several sensitive American military sites.” Among the intelligence transmitted back to the CCP was “mostly from electronic signals, which can be picked up from weapons systems or include communications from base personnel.”

On the economic front, Biden’s monetary policy — which includes spending trillions of taxpayer dollars on useless Democrat pet projects — has resulted in decades-high inflation, causing everyday Americans to struggle to afford basic necessities such as gas and groceries. The administration’s ongoing war against the U.S. fossil fuel industry has only exacerbated the country’s economic pains.

Under Biden, the hegemony of the U.S. dollar is also in jeopardy. Countries such as Brazil and Malaysia have announced within the past week plans to work with China to reduce dependence on the U.S. dollar when conducting trade with Beijing. Most recently, the Chinese yuan surpassed the U.S. dollar as the most traded currency in Russia, signifying growing ties between Beijing and Moscow.

As noted by The Daily Caller, “[i]f foreigners no longer want [U.S. dollars] for trade, central bank reserves, private wealth funds, and the official currency of about a dozen countries, all those dollars have nowhere to go but back to us in a flood like our country has never seen.” Such a scenario would likely lead to hyperinflation and further suffering among the American people.

The U.S. is haunted by self-inflicted domestic problems, so the CCP likely sees an opportunity not just to take control of Taiwan but to recalibrate the politics of the Indo-Pacific in its favor. The longer Biden cripples the U.S., the closer China gets to creating a new world order devoid of U.S. influence.

Hey CNN: A Guatemalan Official Just Said Trump Is Right About Foreign Aid… Is That News?

While CNN spin merchants keep their narratives going, actual journalists are digging up real news… like this story about what REALLY happens to foreign aid. Maybe shoveling money at Guatemala (and their neighbors) to ‘solve’ all their problems with the poor wasn’t such a great plan after all.

Gee, wasn’t someone ELSE telling us the same thing? Someone in an Oval Office?

A senior Guatemalan official said his nation was aware President Donald Trump was going to cut funding to his nation, saying he understands the decision as the majority of funds designated to aid his nation’s poorest through development projects and other charities rarely reaches those who need it most.
It is a stunning admission by Guatemala’s Secretary of Strategic Intelligence Mario Duarte, who says the funding needs to be thoroughly accounted for by both the United States and Guatemala. He spoke to me on my latest podcast at the Sara Carter Show.
…“To be honest with you, I don’t think most of that money is actually being properly used in our country, mainly in Guatemala,” Duarte told me. “A lot of that money goes to NGOs who spend it on mostly doing analysis and white papers sent studies. The money’s not really going towards the people. There’s no significant projects that really help us along those lines.”
…“So, basically all the systems that it’s given currently to, our security forces, our armed forces, as long as its used to curve down all these different threats towards the United States they’re still going to remain in place, were still going to be receiving that assistance from the United States,” he said. “And obviously, we are a partner of the United States and we’ve been a partner for a long time. Now, the funding that’s going to be cut, as we understand, its all other funds that go, as you said, to NGOs, or any other projects not related to security.”

Sara A Carter is busy doing the work that the ‘respectable’ American Media, like CNN, won’t. If boatloads of cash aren’t REALLY making a difference in foreign countries because they’re getting diverted into bloated bureaucratic programs and padding the wallets of supposedly ‘compassionate’ NGOs. Leaving the people in actual need high and dry.

If ONLY there were some sort of lesson that could be learned here for any American cities that have serious problems with poverty… say Baltimore. Didn’t we throw Billion$ at Baltimore, to solve the problems there? How big a difference has that made so far? Is It ‘RACIST’ To Ask Elijah Cummings To Account For The $16B Trump Gave Baltimore?

We’ve all seen the dishonest games the left have played with the power they’re entrusted with, they’re obviously unworthy of that trust.

Perverse House Dem Threatens Trump. Says It’s Illegal for Trump to Stop Illegals by Hurting Home Countries

Reported By Lisa Payne-Naeger | October 23, 2018 at 3:32pm

This is one of the best examples of the left’s seriously messed up set of priorities you may ever see, and probably one of the best reasons anyone would need to vote Republican in the November elections.

Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel of New York’s 16th Congressional District has really gone out on a limb to help the left shake things up before Election Day.

The president has said he would cut off foreign aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras if they aided or failed to curtail the caravan of illegal migrants headed toward the United States.

Engel apparently believes the commander in chief lacks the authority to make that decision and has vowed to rally the liberal troops in Congress to stop him.

According to Engel, “Trump lacks the authority to make those decisions unilaterally due to a law called the Impoundment Control Act,” reported The Washington Examiner.

“Fortunately, Congress — not the president — has the power of the purse, and my colleagues and I will not stand idly by as this administration ignores congressional intent,” Engel said, according to the Examiner.

Meanwhile, the caravan keeps moving north:

It’s true that the Constitution grants Congress the power of the purse. But it’s also true that the same Constitution makes the president in charge of American foreign policy. Democrats like Engel can preen about their pretend fidelity to the Constitution (which is a joke for that party) and if they win either the House or the Senate or both, they can make the next two years of Trump’s first term complicated.

But Trump has made it clear that he is making American aid contingent on the cooperation of foreign governments in controlling the flow of illegal immigration. It might take a Supreme Court ruling to decide the issue, but in the meantime, American voters are getting a clearer picture of Democrat priorities:

Democrats not only don’t want to stop illegal immigration into the United States, they want to keep pouring American taxpayer money into the very countries that are the source of the illegal immigration problem.

Let’s see how popular that polls.

Trump, meanwhile, is concerned with stopping terrorists and criminals from entering the U.S.

He tweeted:

Among the duties of the president is to protect our national security. Clearly the president is focused on that. However, it doesn’t appear Engel has the same priorities. And do we really have to remind Engel and the rest of the left that potential terrorists do enter the U.S. from our southern border?

In September, the conservative watchdog grouop Judicial Watch reported:

“Yet another group of migrants from a terrorist nation managed to infiltrate the United States through Mexico this week. Thankfully, the Border Patrol apprehended them, though it’s becoming a crisis largely ignored by the mainstream media. The men are from Bangladesh, a south Asian Islamic country that’s well known as a recruiting ground for terrorist groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). Earlier this year Judicial Watch reported on the epidemic of Bangladeshi nationals getting smuggled into the country via the porous southern border, especially through Texas, which is where this week’s group got nabbed.”

Engel has a twisted view of how to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration, if he’s even concerned with stopping it at all. His solution is to keep dumping taxpayer money into already troubled areas.

According to the Examiner, Engel said: “El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala are plagued by violence and poverty. The best way to keep Central Americans from migrating to the United States is to continue investing in their communities so that they are not forced to make the dangerous trek north. Yet again, President Trump’s policy toward Latin America will only make things worse.”

Sure, because bribing Central American governments by “investing” American taxpayer dollars in more foreign aid to be squandered has worked out so well in the past.

It’s interesting to note that Engel is unopposed in his re-election bid in November, according to USA Today. While he may not be worried about losing his seat in 2018, he’s certainly doing a fine job of exposing the Democratic Party’s real position on national security when it comes to illegal immigration.

It’s a sad day when the safety of the American people takes a back seat to politics. But it’s a good day when American voters get the information they need just before a crucial midterm election.
