While Obama sends greetings to Iran, Iran’s leaders have a message for him.
While Secretary of State John Kerry continues to negotiate with Iran over their nuclear program, one of that country’s top military officials has vowed to “raise the banner of Islam over the White House.”
According to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Ali Shirazi, the representative of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) elite Qods Force, made the remarks at a February 26 ceremony attended by families of martyrs.
According to MEMRI, Shirazi promised that:
“We will not rest until we have raised the banner of Islam over the White House. The Islamic nation is determined to enter the arena with all its force, backed by Allah’s will and his grace, and to stand fast against the world of arrogance. They will not suppress us with sanctions and threats. You did not succeed in harming the regime on the day it emerged, and now that the regime is 36 years old, you, the enemies of Islam, must expect and realize that every day [you] will be beaten, across the world.”
“When we look at the Islamic world, we see that the culture of the Islamic Revolution has reached all countries and all Muslims throughout the world,” Mr. Shirazi said. “This is why love of martyrdom is spreading. This has come about thanks to the blood of your [sons], the martyrs.”
I’m sure we can trust these fine folks with nukes, they seem really peaceful.
When the US tried to list the IRGC as a terrorist group for helping kill Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan, Biden and Kerry… along with Obama opposed it. Here’s the IRGC’s gratitude to Barack and Biden.
“Five years after Iraq war vote, we’re still foolishly rattling our sabers,” Obama wrote then of the IRGC designation. Iran has never stopped rattling its sabers. And Obama has never stopped cringing before it.
