Melanie Toney has been arrested for the alleged assault

“Yesterday evening toward the end of the daily prayer vigil, a passerby threw a flaming object at the prayer volunteers.  Fortunately no one was injured and the flames were put out quickly,” the group said. “This is not the first time people have thrown objects at pro-lifers but clearly this instance was a more direct threat, and we always want to exercise caution.”

“The prayer volunteers handled the situation very well – one took a photo of the license plate of the vehicle, another called the police and her Day Captain to report the incident.  The police soon caught and arrested the female driver.  Eventually KXAN News came out and interviewed one of our brave volunteers, Ruth,” the group added.

UPDATE: Local news sources indicate a Melanie Toney has been arrested for the alleged assault.

A woman who police say threw a Molotov cocktail at a group of women praying in front of a Planned Let GodParenthood clinic on Monday evening is charged with aggravated assault. Austin police and members of the bomb squad responded the location on E. Ben White Boulevard received the call shortly after 6 p.m.

According to the executive director of Central Texas Coalition for Life, the group was able to record the suspect’s license plate number before she drove away, which led police to 52-year-old Melanie Toney. Toney was pulled over less than three miles away from the clinic.

When officers interviewed Toney, she initially denied everything but later admitted to throwing the bottle and that it “might” have been smoldering when she threw it out of her window, according to an affidavit.

The local news station has more on what happened and the arrest of the perpetrator:

Police arrested a driver Monday night who they say threw a flaming object from a car near the Planned Parenthood clinic on East Ben White Boulevard near South Congress. Austin police received the call shortly after 6 p.m., and members of the bomb squad responded. No one was injured and nothing was damaged, police said.

KXAN spoke to Ruth Allwein, a member of pro-life campaign 40 Days For Life, Monday evening. Allwein said she was praying outside the clinic when a driver threw the object at her.

“I realized she was throwing something out the window and it was on fire,” Allwein said. “So I backed away and turned around to see if I could tell what the car looked like, but I couldn’t.”

Police could only provide initial information Monday night and were unable to confirm all of the details provided by Allwein.Picture14

The pro-life organization continued: “The safety of our volunteers is of utmost importance which is why it is necessary to have at least 2 people praying at all times.  Our approach has always been that we have a peaceful prayerful attitude and be aware of our surroundings, which is what these volunteers exemplified.   Let us pray for all involved.  Thank you to everyone who boldly takes a stand for life!”

National death rate percentagesWashington, DC (LiveActionNews) — Mollie Thomas was born and raised in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. Her parents are a loving couple, who grew her up in the Christian faith. From the young age of five Mollie had an awareness of the love of Jesus. When she was eight Mollie’s church held a presentation put on by a local crisis pregnancy center.

molliethomasDuring the presentation a clip of an abortion was shown. Mollie remembers seeing the baby’s limbs being pulled off its body while in its mother’s womb. She describes the dismemberment scene as ‘nightmarish’, and was shocked she was actually allowed to watch it.

Although the image was quite gruesome, it left an undeniable mark on her heart. Mollie is now a wife of nine years to her husband Jonathan and mother to a adorable three-year-old girl. She’s also a gifted dancer who teaches ballet in Indiana. Mollie’s dances are a expression of the deepest parts of her. When the dance ministry at Mollie’s church put on a production, they asked her to do a dance to the Lord’s Prayer. Instead of just doing a dance to that prayer, Molly decided to turn her dance into a artistic prayer for the lives of the unborn.

In 2013 a man told Mollie he had a vision of her on a beach picking up a conch shell. When she picked it up she was able to hear the sound of multitudes. Although she initially had no idea what that meant, later God revealed to her that the sound was the masses of aborted children. That image along with her husband’s media production skills helped bring forth this powerful dance.

Third of our generationThe simplicity and beauty of this dance moved me to contact Mollie and interview her. I wanted to know what she desired to accomplish by releasing this dance publicly. She said: ‘I asked God for years to please give me some sort of outlet for the anguish I’ve felt over abortion. There was a sense of release I felt in my heart after the completion of this piece. It has been a major accomplishment for me personally, and If God chooses to use it beyond that, then I am deeply honored’.

In the last decade we’ve seen an increase in the release of pro-life themed movies, songs and artwork. I asked Mollie if she thought the arts played an important role in the pro-life movement.

She responded: ‘I believe God desires to use creative voices in the culture to combat the war that rages against His beloved creation, and the pro-life movement is in great need of them. Through history, art has given expression to movements and it should be essential in the pro life movement. Through the arts, I believe some of the hard truths that people either don’t want to hear, aren’t aware of, or are hardened to in some ways, can be delivered in fresh and abstract ways that move past their objections and touch their emotions. I don’t care what the art form is, I just want to see more Christ driven artists from every discipline, come together with their own voices and create masterpieces of life and love that can penetrate and transform even the hardest of hearts.

Since adoption is an essential part of reducing abortion, I asked Mollie for her thoughts on it. Her answer was consistent with the character and passion of her heart.

‘I believe adoption is critical. I believe that beyond heart transformation, it’s the only option. My husband and I have determined that we can’t fully speak and stand against abortion unless we are willing to be a part of the solution. We are currently preparing our lives to pursue adoption’.

Tremaine's

Eagle EggsMollie is one of many women who is grieved by the massive loss of life through abortion. What sets her apart, is the way she’s using her gift to speak about the issue. There’s a part of the video where countless grains of sand fall through Mollie’s hands. The imagery speaks to me of the precious lives that were slain, fallen to the ground and never to be recovered this side of heaven. It’s a sobering reality, yet one that Mollie addresses with grace and compassion. The best art is the kind that touches the heart, and moves the audience to action. May Mollie’s dance lead you to use your gifts, talents and skills to speak out against the atrocity of abortion.

Amazing Video Shows Life Before Birth: “Everything a Newborn Baby Does, a Fetus Has Already Done”

An amazing new video that appeared on the Today show shows life before birth. The pro-life movement already knows unborn babies are capable or truly astonishing things and this report confirms it.

ultrasound4d43Dr. Bill Fifer, a professor of psychiatry at Columbia University and a leading expert on fetal and newborn learning, appears on the program and says “Everything that a newborn baby does, a fetus has pretty much done already.”

“They’re exquisitely able to sense information over all parts of their body, although some are more sensitive than others, like around the mouth, around the feet, around the hands,” he continues.

From the report:

Experts say kicking and other activity can be a reaction to mom eating or changing positions; or it might happen just because the baby feels like moving around.

Mom’s emotions can also cause certain movements. The more stress pregnant women reported, the more frequently their fetuses touched their faces with their left hands, researchers at Durham and Lancaster universities in the UK announced last month. Their study was published in the journal “Laterality: Asymmetries of Body, Brain and Cognition.”

“This suggests maternal stress could be having on effect on the child’s behavior in the womb and highlights the importance of reducing maternal stress in pregnancy,” Dr. Nadja Reissland, the lead author, said.

The report also discusses how a new study shows even before they are born, babies are learning from experience, especially if it’s directly related to their moms. Babies before birth learn nursery rhymes from their moms while while in the womb. So much for just being blobs of tissue.

Sit back, relax and enjoy this wonderful journey into what it’s like to be an unborn baby in “Hotel Womb.”

Man Finds Abandoned Baby in the Woods, 58 Years Later He Meets the Woman He Saved

http://www.lifenews.com/2014/05/05/man-finds-abandoned-baby-in-the-woods-58-years-later-he-meets-the-woman-he-saved/

As a 14-year-old boy, Dave Hickman found an infant girl in a woods. On Sunday afternoon he was reunited with her. Hickman found a baby in the woods while hunting in 1955. Hickman spent the next 58 years trying to track her down.

davehickmanLifeNews reports on so many cases of infanticide of abandoned baby’s who don’t make it and are left today. We’re delighted to bring you a story today that comes with a happy ending.

Here’s what happened:

About 50 family, friends and well-wishers watched as Hickman, now living in Vonore, Tenn., walked into Mitrione’s Rosemary Room and into the arms of Ellen Suey, the woman whose life Hickman saved Sept. 22, 1955.

“I’ve been waiting for this for 58 years,” Hickman said as he looked into her eyes, rubbed her shoulders and fought back tears.

“You’re my hero,” said Suey, who now lives in Riverside, Calif. “This is amazing.”

davehickman2Hickman was clearly at a loss for words before Suey smiled and said, ‘This is the part where you say, ‘You look so different.’”

Hickman was hunting with his grandfather, Clay Smith, in a woods along Indiana 122, west of Boston, when he investigated an odd cooing sound. He walked 100 yards and suddenly saw a baby laying in a pile of brush. He and his grandfather called the sheriff and the baby was taken to Reid Hospital.

The child was named Roseann Wayne and was adopted by a couple who soon left the area.

Hickman had been searching for her for years. In December 2013, he contacted former Wayne County commissioner, councilman and sheriff John Catey.

Catey turned the search into a personal mission, interviewing more than 75 people and looking up records at the Wayne County Courthouse, Morrisson-Reeves Library and online before finding Ellen Suey in California.

CBS News’ Michelle Miller reports on their emotional reunion:
