What Did You Say?

Prayer For America

Based upon the conditions of our nation, the chaos of our government, the rise of Islamic State, and the deliberate misinformation spewed by the Leftist/Marxist/Socialist/Extreme-Liberal/Democrats, I desired to pray this prayer based on the prayer Ezra prayed (Ezra 9:6-15; ERV) when he saw the conditions of Jerusalem.

“Heavenly Father, ABBA, in Jesus mighty Name, I am too ashamed and embarrassed to look at you. I am ashamed because our sins as a nation are higher than our heads. Our guilt has reached all the way up to the heavens. We have been guilty of many sins from the days of our founders until now. We sinned, as a result our nation is being punished. Islamic terrorist have, and are, attacking us and are killing our people. They are costing our wealth as a nation because of the war they declared against America and made us make bad decisions about leadership that has made the conditions of our nation worse, and we have been shamed in the eyes of the nations around us. It is the same even today. But , You have been kind to us. You have allowed us to escape the total cruelty our enemy has intended.’

“Lord, You gave us new life and relief from our slavery when You decided to create this great nation for Yourself for the spreading of the Gospel worldwide. Yes, we were slaves to religious bigotry, but You would not let us be slaves forever. You were kind to us. You made the kings of the world be kind to us. Now Your America is being ruined, yet You can give us new life so that we can rebuild Your America and repair it like new. God, You helped us build America. We call on you now to protect America and give us victory over all that want to do us harm, bankrupt us, destroy us from within, and all other efforts to devastate Your intended plans for this once great nation.’

“Now, ABBA Father, what can we say to You? We have stopped obeying You again. You used Your servants, our Founding Fathers, brave patriots who knew You personally, pastors, teachers of Your Word, and righteous statesman to give us the freedoms, Constitutional Law, the structure of our government, and laws to keeps us safe, free and prosperous. You said, ‘The land you are living within, and own, is a ruined land. It has been ruined by evil things the people living here have done. They have done very bad things in every place in this land. They have made this land dirty with their sins. You have not obeyed My commands so that you can be strong in the world, and enjoy the good things of America, so that you can keep this land and give it to our children.’

“What has happened to us is our own fault. We have done evil things, and we have much guilt. We are without excuse or defense. ABBA Father, our God, have punished us much less than we should have been. We have done many terrible sins, and made excuses, instead of repenting. We’ve tried to explain away our sinful desires, even blaming You for putting them inside us. We killed Your children, while calling them something less than human. We’ve kept the poor poorer, the dependant more dependant, wasted Your resources, and deliberately turned away from You to worship the earth, created a god called nature, worshipped the flesh by seeking to gratify our filthy desires, and then claimed You created us that way. We lied as leaders in order to win elections that only satisfy those that agree with us, yet spurn everyone else that disagrees with us, even calling for their destruction. We called evil good by promoting Islam, and called good bad by seeking to destroy Your Church. Our sins are too numerous to list.’

 “ Lord, ABBA Father, You are good, and You still have let most of us live. Yes, we are guilty, and because of our guilt, not one of us should be allowed to stand in front of You. However, because of Jesus sacrifice and Your raising Him from the grave and raised Him up to sit at Your right side, making intercession for us, we come to You seeking Your forgiveness and plead with You to forgive our sins and heal our land.’

 “Thank You, ABBA Father for hearing our prayer. Thank You for sending REVIVAL. Thank You for healing our land. In Jesus mighty Name, Amen.”
