Australian Gun Law Update!cid_MshfaDCLxNksOfGcxATl

Here’s a thought to warm some of your hearts …
From: Ed Chenel, a police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent

Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent

Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease Disarmed Citizenryin armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in ‘successfully ridding Australian society of guns….’ You won’t see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it’s too late! Will you be one of the sheep to turn yours in?
WHY? You will need it.

Feeling good about your 2nd Amendment rights? Don’t!

Posted by on Sep 17, 2014

We’ve seen some significant victories in the battles over the right to bear arms, our 2nd Amendment right that is clearly spelled out in the George Washington regarding 2nd AmandmentConstitution.  Until very recently, in areas controlled by anti-gun Democrats it’s virtually impossible buy, own, or legally carry a firearm.  The Heller decision by the Supreme Court got the ball rolling when they declared the restrictive ownership laws in Washington DC to be unconstitutional.  That was followed by decisions that overturned the gun ban in Chicago and the right to carry a concealed weapon in Illinois.  Even California has gotten on the bandwagon, with decisions loosening their restrictive purchase and ownership rights.  The latest victory in the battle happened this week when the New York Times declared that they’d lost the war on “assault weapons” and all that skirmish ever was was a quibble over style.

A word of Curmudgeonly advice.  Don’t get cocky.

We’ve always found one thing about the far left to be very admirable.  They never give up.  They have a level of commitment to their long term agenda that is not just unmatched on the right, it’s unknown.

The left hates guns.  They really hate the fact that we can own guns.  They are committed to not just eliminating your right to own and carry a gun, and they won’t quit until, like in England and Australia, private ownership of a firearm is outlawed and weapons are confiscated and destroyed.

Something popped up today, and you can bet it’ll be under-reported, and it reinforces the fact that war on the 2nd Amendment isn’t anywhere close to over for the left.

There is nothing [in ATF or OMB’s website links addressing the change in policy] that supports the requirement that ATF collect race-based information.” … Laura Murphy, the American Civil Liberties Union director for legislative affairs in Washington, said in an emailed statement.

race on gun purchase

Imperial President ObamaPlease note that the ATF, a bureaucracy that is part of the “most transparent administration in history,” declined to comment on the reason they are collecting the information.  They don’t have to, they’re “the gummit.”  And just where is the NAACP?  They should be filing lawsuits over racial profiling by the Obama administration.  Where are they?

Both the NAACP and the National Council of La Raza — the nation’s largest national Hispanic civil rights group — declined comment.

You’re probably saying, “Hey Curmudgeon, you’re paranoid!”  Well maybe, but just because we’re paranoid doesn’t mean that somebody is not out to get us.

The 4473 form is supposed to be kept in a gun retailer’s possession at all times — allowing ATF agents to inspect the form only during the course of a criminal investigation or during a random audit of the dealer. The form is to be kept out of the hands of the government, hence the distinction between “sales/transaction form” and “registration form.” But that isn’t The Great Divideralways the case, gun rights advocates say.

“We’ve been contacted by several dealers saying ATF is or has been making wholesale copies of their 4473 forms, and it’s just not legal,” said Erich Pratt, spokesman for Gun Owners of America, a gun advocacy group. “If this is what they’re doing somewhat out in the open, what’s going on behind closed doors? Are these names and demographic information getting phoned [in and] punched into a government computer? Do they ever come out?”

Are you willing to believe what ATF and any administration tells you about information they have?  We’re not.  We don’t trust Republicans any more than we trust Democrats when it comes the overreach of government.

A Perspective

George Washington regarding 2nd AmandmentToday I swung my front door wide open and placed my Remington 30.06 right in my doorway. I left 6 shells beside it, then left it alone and went about my business.

While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near the front of our house. After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It hadn’t moved itself outside. It certainly hadn’t killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do so. In fact, it hadn’t even loaded itself. Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. Either the media is wrong or I’m in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

The United States is 3rd in Murders throughout the World. But if you take out Chicago , Detroit , Washington DC and New Orleans , the United States is 4th from the bottom for Murders. These 4 Cities also have the toughest Gun Control Laws in the United States. All 4 are controlled by Democrats.   It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data – right?   Well, I’m off to check on my spoons – I hear they’re making people fat.

Obama comes Out in the Open – Pushes for Gun Confiscation Agenda like Australia

Reported by

As has been predicted by those in the citizen media, Obama is set to use his “authority” as president to unilaterally issue some form of pseudo-law executive order to further the agenda of gun control in light of the recent shooting at an Oregon school. White House spokesperson Josh Earnest stated the president was always looking for opportunities to increase community safety, but that he would rather work with Congress on “robust” legislative action. Earnest revealed the president’s latest gun control campaign push at a White House press briefing on Tuesday.

gunCloward Piven

According to Earnest, “The president’s goal is to look for opportunities to act administratively, unilaterally using his executive authority to try to  make our communities safer. We’re always looking for those opportunities. But none of those opportunities when they present themselves are going to be an acceptable substitute for robust legislative action.”

Earnest contended that Congress needed to work to prevent future shootings going on to say there has been an “alarming frequency of tragic incidents of gun violence” that concern people throughout the country as well as both parties in Washington.

B.S. MeterEarnest stated, “The question I think really facing lawmakers right now is what common sense steps can Democrats and Republicans take to reduce the likelihood of gun violence? And there are some, and they have unfortunately been bottled up in Congress and that is a disappointment to the president. But that’s not going to stop the president from continuing to push for administrative steps that we can take to help reduce gun violence.”

Searching the internet finds many individuals discussing this “alarming frequency of gun violence” with some pointing to an orchestration of these incidents by the Obama administration to push gun control.Tyranney Alert

Of course, Obama couldn’t resist the temptation to push his gun control leading to confiscation agenda on Tumblr. In one statement, Obama suggested that America should follow Australia’s example and institute strict bans on automatic and semi-automatic weapons. After being briefed on the recent incidents in California and Oregon, Obama stated, “Australia had a mass shooting [in 1996] similar to Columbine and Newtown, and just said, ‘That’s it, we’re not seeing this again,’ and basically imposed very severe, tough gun laws and they haven’t had a mass shooting since.”

Obama is referring to the Port Arthur massacre that occurred at the historic prison colony there.

Since Obama has referred to Australia as a shining example of gun control and confiscation that eliminated mass shootings, what has happened to crime in Australia since?

According to a 2009 report by the National Center for Policy Analysis, the Australian Bureau of Criminology, five years after Australia enacted its gun ban, acknowledged there was no correlation between gun control and the use of firearms in violent crimes. “In fact, the percent of murders committed with a firearm was the highest it had ever been in 2006.”

According to the NCPA:

Even Australia’s Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research acknowledges that the gun ban had no significant impact on the amount of gun-involved crime:

  • In 2006, assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
  • Sexual assault – Australia’s equivalent term for rape – increased 29.9 percent.
  • Overall, Australia’s violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.

Moreover, Australia and the United States – where no gun ban exists – both experienced similar decreases in murder rates.

  • Between 1995 and 2007, Australia saw a 31.9 percent decrease; without a gun ban, America’s rate dropped 31.7 percent.
  • During the same period, all other violent crime indices increased in Australia: assault rose 49.2 percent and robbery 6.2 percent.
  • Sexual assault – Australia’s equivalent term for rape – increased 29.9 percent.
  • Overall, Australia’s violent crime rate rose 42.2 percent.
  • At the same time, U.S. violent crime decreased 31.8 percent: rape dropped 19.2 percent; robbery decreased 33.2 percent; aggravated assault dropped 32.2 percent.
  • Australian women are now raped over three times as often as American women.

While this does not prove that more guns would impact crime rates, it does prove that gun control is a flawed policy.Gun Control SupportersWhile Australia may not have had a mass shooting since, the crime rate in Australia has risen and the gun ban had no significant impact on the amount of gun-involved crime. Obama, as usual, doesn’t relay all the information but chooses to use information selectively to promote an agenda. There has been no definitive proof that any gun control laws prevent gun-related crimes as criminals do not follow the law.

So making guns illegalIn his Tumblr broadcast, Obama claimed that respect for the Second Amendment can still occur and “responsible sportsmen and hunters” can still possess weapons. He declared the country needed “common sense rules” to deter these incidents of mass shootings.

The questions one must ask regarding these statements is who is to determine if a person is responsible and how is that to be determined? The next is who is to determine what is common sense rules for any gun control and how is common sense defined in relation to establishing those rules? While many may not see the wisdom in the single phrase “shall not be infringed” contained in the Second Amendment, it is there to inhibit these “common sense rules,” where common sense would be defined by government, and to inhibit government from establishing the definition of “responsible” concerning who can and cannot possess firearms. The framers intent was for individuals to be able to defend themselves from tyrannical government by possessing the same fire power as the government, as the framers recognized the individual’s God-given right to protect person and property. To hear Obama talk, the Second Amendment only pertains to hunters and sportsmen.

In one statement, Obama let slip the definitive problem. He said, “My greatest frustration so far is that this society has not been willing to take steps to keep guns out of the hands of people you know who can just do unbelievable damage.”

The problem is not the guns; the problem is people who will do unbelievable, illegal, criminal activity. Those types of people will use any means necessary to perpetrate their crimes. And, Obama should be reminded that he, through the DOJ and EricFast and FuriousHolder, put guns into the hands of people who did “unbelievable damage.” The problem is the people, not the inanimate object. Criminals will be criminals so no laws, gun control or otherwise, will affect them whatsoever as they will not follow the law. Obama is evidence of that – criminal is as criminal does.

Obama continued his basic rant on guns saying, “We’re the only developed country on Earth where this happens. … Our level of gun violence is off the charts. There’s no advanced country on Earth that would put up with this.”

Well, Obama, if you take Washington, DC, Chicago, Detroit and New York out of the equation, the US has the lowest incidences of gun violence in the world. And, in case you missed it, Mr. Master of Skewing the Facts, these cities have gun control laws.

Of course, Obama could not let the opportunity pass to mention Newtown, Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School incident, which some Leftist Revisionisthave argued was a false flag psy-op event to promote a gun-control agenda, to drum up emotions.

Speaking of the Newtown shooting, Obama stated, “I’ve been in Washington, and most things don’t surprise me, [but] the fact that 20 six-year-olds were gunned down in the most violent fashion possible and this town could not do anything about it, was stunning to me.”

Why did not Obama mention the adults that supposedly were killed at Sandy Hook? Simple. Adult victims do not produce as much emotion in people as when the victims are innocent, defenseless children. He also forgot to mention that the state did do something about it in violation of the rights of gun owners.

As long as the emperor wannabe occupies the Oval Office, Americans can expect gun control to continue to surface with even more fervor than the last with each incident of gun related violence. Isn’t interesting that reports on shootings are increasing in the media?

Governor Jerry Brown’s Official Police State

California: APPS: Protect Yourself if the Government Comes for Your Guns

Posted on January 27, 2014 //

Attention residents of the City of Los Angeles and Orange County:

We recently learned that local law enforcement entities are conducting firearm confiscation raids in your area on behalf of the California Department of Justice, as part of its Armed Prohibited Persons System (“APPS”) program.  These raids are typically conducted without search warrants.

Be prepared!  While these raids are promoted by politicians as intended to disarm dangerous criminals, they actually more often target unsuspecting citizens who present no danger and have no idea that they are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.

Watch this video for background on APPS’s shortcomings and injustices, and this revealing video in review of a former DOJ Special Agent who formerly conducted APPS raids.

For an overview of how these confiscations are conducted, and information about your rights when subjected to one, read this memorandum.

If you are uncertain if you are prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition, check your eligibility by submitting a Personal Firearms Eligibility Check application to the California Department of Justice.

If you are prohibited from possessing firearms, contact an attorney to discuss how best to restore your rights and comply with the law.

If law enforcement shows up at your home asking about firearms:

  • Don’t talk!  Officers are trained to get people to make statements that provide “probable cause” to search and seize.  Try not to even open the door.

  • Instead, provide the officers with this flyer, or tell the officers that you assert your right to remain silent and want to have an attorney present (actually say those words).

  • Do NOT “consent” to a search of your person, possessions, or home.  Insist on a search warrant.  If they don’t have a warrant, refuse the search entirely and close the door.

  • Consult a lawyer immediately.

  • Confirm whether you may legally possess firearms and learn your rights!  Don’t take the rap for APPS!

The Institute for Legislative Action (ILA) is the lobbying arm of the NRA. Established in 1975, ILA is committed to preserving the right of all law-abiding individuals to purchase, possess and use firearms for legitimate purposes as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
ILA’s ability to fight successfully for the rights of America’s law-abiding gun owners directly reflects the support of NRA’s nearly 5 million members—a number that has more than tripled since 1978. When restrictive “gun control” legislation is proposed at the local, state or federal level, NRA members and supporters are alerted and respond with individual letters, faxes, e-mails and calls to their elected representatives to make their views known.

In 1986, the NRA and millions of gun owners nationwide applauded as the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan. ILA worked for more than a decade to secure passage of that historic legislation to reform the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Combined with the strong grassroots efforts of NRA members and NRA-affiliated state associations and local gun clubs, the Institute has worked vigorously to pass pro-gun reform legislation at the state level.
These efforts include enacting laws that recognize the right of honest citizens to carry firearms for self-protection; preemption bills to prevent attacks on gun owner rights by local anti-gun politicians, and fighting for legislation to prevent the bankrupting of America’s firearms industry through reckless lawsuits.
The Institute is also involved in educating the public about the facts concerning the many facets of firearms ownership in America. Through the distribution of millions of printed fact sheets, brochures and articles annually and the posting information and the latest news daily on its Internet site (, the Institute provides facts about responsible firearms ownership, the Second Amendment and other topics.
In NRA Headquarters in Fairfax, Va., and in offices in Washington, D.C., and in Sacramento, Calif., the Institute employs a staff of more than 80, with a team of full-time lobbyists defending Second Amendment issues on Capitol Hill, in state legislatures and in local government bodies.
While NRA is a single-issue organization, the Institute is involved in any issue that directly or indirectly affects firearms ownership and use. These involve such topics as hunting and access to hunting lands, wilderness and wildlife conservation, civilian marksmanship training and ranges for public use, law enforcement-related issues, product liability, trapping, crime victim rights and criminal justice reform.

New York Gun-Owners Getting Letters Instructing Them To Turn In Their Weapons

For most of the press it is believed, “As goes New York, so goes America”. While I do not believe that is a fact, I do believe that as goes New York, so goes it’s influence on other Liberal cities and states.

This report need to be a warning to the rest of America that we WILL see this law spreading like cancer.

Thanks to New York’s gun registry, officials know exactly what kinds of guns  residents have and where these people live. Due to changes in New York’s gun  laws with the passage of the misnamed SAFE Act, many residents are now in  possession of certain “unlawful” firearms which were previously legal.

Kit Daniels of Infowars writes:

The notice provides gun owners, who possess  firearms now prohibited under New York’s unconstitutional SAFE Act, the “options” to either surrender their firearms to the police, remove them from the  city limits or otherwise render them inoperable…

The SAFE Act, which was passed by the state  legislature and signed by the governor on the same day in January, has numerous,  draconian provisions including, but not limited to:

  • Outright ban of magazines holding over 10  rounds

  • Restriction on more than seven rounds being  loaded into a magazine; the limited exceptions do not include home  defense

  • The creation of a firearms registry for what  the state considers “assault weapons”

  • A requirement for firearm permit holders to  fill out a form to keep the state from publicly identifying them

We always warned that gun registration would lead to confiscation. But the  registration part was always touted as a safety measure. They just wanted to  make sure that no guns ended up in the wrong hands. So, government officials had  to know who had what guns and to whom they were transferred. They needed to be  able to track them. If you were a law-abiding gun-owner, then there was no  reason for you to worry. They were only looking out for criminals. “No one’s  coming for your guns,” they’d say with a wry smile.

Well, yes, they are. Albeit incrementally. They’re coming for them, one law  at a time.
